These two are pretty much the same, but Algophobia one has more angst potential than just "Pain-sensitive"

This thing sounds just so hilarious in my head, imagine after MC does something bad Lucifer wants to punish them, but then he remembers that this human uses cooking gloves to drink coffee because "its way to hot" and ends up with existential crisis because all of his punishments will turn Pain-sensitive MC into dust😭

I saw a lot of ppl headcanoning that demons are like "well, humans are fragile and easily will die!" and starting to think that human is dying when they broke a bone. Thats funny, but imagine what would happen if it ACTUALLY were like that. Mammon wants to get MC to the casino, but then sees how they slip and fall to their knees and the crying because "FFFFF MY KNEEEEES HURT😭😭😭" And he is just like..."Damn, bro, how u live like this" and ends up way to afraid to bring them to the casino bc of "eeevil demons that would eat them!".

Also i imagine that Levi would do something similar, but, lets agree that him asking MC to go somewhere is an impossible scenario. I think he will do a good job tho.

Satan and MC hanging out in the garden with cats and this dude, who can easily broke the entire house if he gets angry, casually watching this piece of human struggling to pet a cat bc of their shaking hands. "Come on, just pet it, u got it, MC." "but cats have claws and claws are paaaainful!!!!"

Asmo is probably the only one who will have no problem with that, lol. This dude loves saying about being gentle. Yeah, not surprising that i simp for him. But dynamic between Devildom's biggest slut and a Human, who never kissed with anyone because "well, if i am kissing someone, I can't tell if the person is not gonna get a knife a d won't stub me! and stubbing ppl is painful!" sounds hilarious.

Beel is a big cinnabun, we all can agree. But yhis cinnabun is so big, that it can easily hurt MC accidentally! Even average people often cause ain-sensitive MC pain, and someone as big and strong babyboy like Beel? Damn, poor big man and MC, who waits for hot food to cool down for 15 minutes before eating it because "hot food is painful!"

Belphegor probably will do okay.. i mean, if we ignore 16 lesson.. he is pretty gentle boy so i guess he won't do anything bad. But, i can still imagine how this dude might hurt MC in his sleep and when wakes up and sees them, ouch-ing and rubbing their cheek, because "you were asleep and accidentally hit my cheek.." while this dude was just changing his sleeping pose.

So you can make something fluffy with brothers trying to not-hurt Pain-sensitive MC accidentally, you can do it in memes, you can do some angst with Algophobia. You can do whatever you want, i give the idea, you use it if you want!~

Leo transmasc headcanon

(many things are based on my own experience. Especially the dysphoria related things (so when i talk about Leo not being a real boy it is what he thinks bc of dysphoria. It’s not true.))

(warning angst angst (but thats Leo so that was expected)

it was so obvious even when he was small. He always wanted to play with boys, wear boys clothes, ect… His mom was fine with it. She bought him boys toys and clothes and even sometimes called him hijo. She was a bit confused, but she knew it made her child happy and it's all that mattered. 

However, it didn’t go that well with his foster homes. However much he tried, they always stuck to his deadname and she/her. That was a big part of the reason he kept running away. 

There really is no story behind the name Leo. He picked that one bc it sounded cool. 

Once he got a good enough passing, he did everything he could so ppl will assume he’s cis.

Don’t ask me how he gots his hands on hrt. It’s a long and weird story.

The wilderness school was very strict about not mixing girls and boys in dorms. 

Piper was his roommate, that’s how they met. 

In their memories created by Hera, Jason has kinda always known he’s trans. So Leo never bothered to hide it from Jason (as he does with others).

But Jason doesn’t have much (any) education on transidentity… At first he assumed Leo was a cis guy, and then some things were a bit confusing (why was he in fem dorms ? Why does he wear a tank top under his shirt ? Did he just ask Piper for a tampon???) but he just kinda gave up on trying to understand, bc Leo is a nice guy anyways. And with time (and exterior knowledge on the matter) he started to put the pieces together and to understand that “ooh ok that makes sense". 

Otherwise. Leo has no desire to get out of his comfortable closet. 

He has such a fragile masculinity 

Sometimes he acts a little bit macho. He’s aware he’s acting like an asshole but he’s terrified of being perceived as feminine. 

Why does he try to flirt with every girl he sees ? Another attempt to pass better (and comfort himself in his fragile masculinity) by copying stereotypical boys' things.

He overbind so much, GODS. Man will wear his binder for 11h straight (while fighting and running around) and then have the audacity to complain that his body hurts.

Piper tries very hard to remind him to take proper breaks. 

Jason is the biggest gender envy ever. He is handsome, tall, muscular… Leo really loves him but he also is so jealous and envious. 

He is very envious of other boys in general. 

When Percy got woken up in the middle of the night and left his cabin shirtless. When Frank went to take a break in the men’s restroom…

Gods, he would do anything to just be a normal boy. To be like them. To have their bodies. To not have to destroy his body to look slightly more masculine. To not have this constant fear that they’re gonna find out. 

And to add to the reasons why he felt so much like the 7th wheel : Among the 7 there are 3 girls, 3 boys… And Leo. Forever inbetween. Not a girl, but not a boy like the others either. 

Fortunately, with time he learnt to accept himself better and to feel more comfortable with others. 

Piper helped him to go easier on himself. And he had an actual proper talk with Jason.

The first person he actually came out to was probably Annabeth, bc she’s cool and wise and nice. 

And then he saw it actually was ok. She didn’t treat him any differently, she didn’t tell anyone else. She was cool with it.

He then told Frank and Hazel, with Piper’s help (mostly to explain to Hazel all those new terms). And it also went very great ! He then also told Percy and Nico. 

He’s not entirely out, just to his closest friends and his siblings at camp. And it’s enough. 

He still overbinds, but he has ppl to (discreetly) remind him to take care of himself. He’s still very dysphoric but his loved ones know how to remind him that he is their brother, an amazing boy.

putting aside all the reasons i wouldn’t survive the canon world (💀), iiii really don’t know? i cant decide? mostly because of the personality disorder so i really can’t tell u what i’m like :| i get obsessed when someone tells me i’m actually really intimidating or funny for examples bc i didn’t know. or shy, bookish, excitable etc etc idk about any of it.

but enough about psychology. i used to be a really clingy person who couldn’t be by myself basically ever lmao, but i’m the exact opposite now. Levi would notttt like a clingy partner, or someone who needs him in order to stand on their own. he’s fiercely independent, and so he would need someone who’s his equal in that regard. yeah that’s me

i kind of kin levi💀 all the shitload of abandonment issues and trauma? check. will sooner eat glass than ask for help? check check. cant read social cues, all the emotional expression around others of a brick wall (unless i’m masking)? check check check.

and i feel like Levi would get along with someone who has experienced to some extent his kind of pain. in other words someone bubbly but especially innocent in any regard is not someone he’d get along with romantically. (so i pass that one.)

i’m kind of an intellectual too? you don’t necessarily need to be smart, but you should function a lot on logic and being inquisitive or introspective. same as him. so me.

Levi would have trouble with someone who lives with their heart on their sleeve or lets emotions guide all their choices. he’s badddd at emotions, wouldn’t be able to return that energy and wouldn’t know what to do with it all. he’d get overwhelmed. iiii don’t know which one i am sooooo… undecided.

seeing how Levi is so awkward and aloof as a person, he’d want to be around someone who’s notttt like that with their close friends / people they love. same reason Levi especially gets along with people like Furlan and Isabel, Erwin, and Hange. all extroverts in varying ways. i’m extremely fucking awkward but with ppl close to me i’m definitely more of a Hange or Isabel type💀 so that’s good at least. as Levi’s partner, being very reserved, defensive or shy wouldn’t go anywhere.

also similar to Levi, i stuff down basically all my emotions until i pretty much explode. i don’t really know how to decipher my feelings or what they mean. i don’t think that’s a significant factor to having chemistry with him, but it’s worth mentioning. about Doing Emotions, Levi doesn’t seek out support with his emotions, and in fact he wouldn’t want that. he would prefer your feelings for each other, and the things you each do to protect, comfort, or be there for each other understood. his partner doesn’t need to be the same as him, but it’s good they understand that. we'd be very comfortable with each other in that regard.

also same as Levi, i just avoid everything that upsets me in the moment, and can be immature or petty at signs of conflict. Levi is an extremely mature person, but he isn’t someone who’s emotionally intelligent, and he’s a sensitive character. thus his first instincts when there’s been a misunderstanding or he feels a sense of one of his biggest fears - abandonment - he can’t bring himself to reveal that vulnerability, so he either deflects, gets petty, pulls away, or all three. taking that into account alone, me and Levi would be a disaster to say the least lmao. he needs someone who encourages him to confront the issue one way or another.

i’m not sure if i’m more calm or hotheaded, but i have insane anxiety and the worst anger issues ever. maybe that would fall into the category of “feral-ness” like Hange has to an extent. Hange is also an intelligent and logical character (i mean they’re a fucking scientist), which i relate to so i think i pass that. maybe.

i can stay calm in a fast-paced urgent situation. also important not just if i want to survive in the aot world (i wouldn't anyway probably), but that's important to Levi. alongside strength (in the broad definition).

so my conclusion: OBJECTIVELY yeah.... maybe... if i live that long. but also we have a lot to learn about communication and getting over our own ingrained self-hatred/perceived worthlessness/fear of intimacy etc etc. Hange can be our couples therapist lollll

my thoughts are definitely mixed up while writing this so if you decide to read it, sorry it may be confusing LMAO

also if you do read this pls fully read my marius comment!! mari has def become one of my number 1 faves and i don’t want it to seem like i’m slandering marirosa or him personally lol

TW;; child neglect, emotional abuse/gaslighting/emotional manipulation, in the story it implies sexual violence (rword) but i don’t mention it here explicitly

this chapter was super close to home for me and i didn’t expect to be as triggered as i was lmao. when i saw the warnings on twt i was like, okay, i can handle this and i did finish the story without breaking down.

the last episode definitely left me off feeling less upset, especially when rosa talked to irene and told her about jade and that they will get justice for her and the kids/people abused.

i had a lot of theories while reading the story, a few laughs but definitely around the last time they questioned jun i started to get more serious.

the first trigger was that questioning, when jun said he basically raised her like a canary in a cage,, which was pretty fucked up and where i stopped defending jun to be honest lmao, like i thought you loved her??

the biggest fucking trigger for me was when they talked to irene before the trial. when caroline was there. when irene talked about the fact she did ask for her mother to help her, that she was uncomfortable and wanted to go home… and caroline basically brushed her off like a nuisance.

that is the most infuriating part of this case for me personally and out of all the characters i definitely sympathize with irene the most. people don’t understand the fucking fear you have to sit through when your parents brush you off saying, “i’m gonna get you in the morning, you’re fine.” and having to be in a place that you find so disgustingly uncomfortable (even if they are good people!!) it’s just… you have no excuse to not come pick up your child that has stated they want to come home.

what if something did happen to your kid? you wouldn’t know because you decided to hang up that phone and left them in a place that you have no clue what’s happening off that device. because you were caring about your own alone time not even wondering why the exact reason your kid said they wanted to leave. the difference is that irene had to deal with this for over ten years. no help at all.

i had this theory at the beginning that jade was actually alive and she n irene both killed edwin over irene being abused (bc the way ppl described how close they were) or bc of the debts. i wasn’t all the way off the mark i think if jade was alive and irene did understand jade’s side, how jade was the only person who did care and want to help irene, irene would probably manipulate jade’s (if jade wasn’t already feeling resentful) emotions (the way she did to jun) and they’d both kill him.

i started to realize jun probably never really loved irene bc the “love at first sight” was literally just of her looks that’s why he agreed to the marriage and he was basically a sick possessive fuck, the fact he took away irene’s only hope, her last dream to get away from the people who hurt her the most and forced her to stay with him? sick.

i was also pretty upset with the way rosa just straight up showed caroline the abuse pictures while the VICTIM was in the room… it was sickening… also when they got to the car and the conversation mari and rosa had made me?? a little irk 😭😭

i know marius needed that pep talk for sure and i definitely don’t disagree i just think after being triggered from what irene explained and how i was relating to some things that happened to her it felt like that wasn’t an appropriate conversation to have in that moment bc of what information was just given… and just bc it just felt like a lovey-dovey moment between them after this serious ass moment and i was just … weirded out(?) LMAOO, i don’t know how to explain it… i felt like that conversation was better to have after the last questioning with jun but!! it’s fine,, i’m glad he trusted rosa to talk abt that bc he did have points.

i am FARR from hating rosa that was just something that bothered me bc ?? idk be a LITTLE MORE SENSITIVE TO THE ONE IN THE ROOM IN THOSE TRAUMATIZING PICS??? 😭😭 /nm /lh

it’s sad when you live in the same exact world as other people but they deal with sad things happening to them and you somehow feel spoiled or blessed because of that fact. :(

i think just cuz jun doesnt have a great father figure in his life (his grandfather) compared to marius dad being a protecter of his son and doesn’t have a great brother like marius doesn’t give him a right to make marius feel bad about this life he has. yes, you weren’t fortunate enough but jsut because you point out these great things marius has but you don’t doesnt mean marius doesn’t deal with bad things either in his life… your family is close to disowning you but marius also deals with slander, from people in pax to the public view? like… i get how jealousy can form from it but !! it’s still messed up overall

conclusion!! lots of emotions, mixed feelings, different thoughts lol but i really enjoyed this chapter and got deeply immersive into the story. i think the way they portrayed different things and handled the victim trying to serve their own justice was greatly executed. definitely so far the most impacting story for me that really hit home, i hope edwin rots in hell :)

also i wanna see if anyone has different views from mine when it comes to caroline, to me she definitely used irene and should have cared more about her child than becoming CEO and “making it up to her”,, i think that was the lamest excuse and she couldnt even come up with a great reasoning of why she didn’t get her daughter when her daughter said she felt uncomfortable. i’m sure she definitely feels guilty at the end but these are the reasons why greed has the biggest karma of all.

Why Donnie, Once Again, is Not a Canon Thing.

Okay, let’s talk about Donnie. As I said yesterday, I get that the writers are teasing it pretty hard, but guys, it’s SOOO just a distraction.

I’m going to give you my thoughts on last week’s TTD, because it was very Connie-centric, along with the some of my fellow theorists’ thoughts here in a minute. But once again, everyone needs to stop freaking out about Donnie. The shippers believed (and many other ships feared) that ep 22 and the “tunnel of love” would be when Donnie went canon. I was never worried about it, but unlike other scenes in the past (i.e. the apple/reunion scene) which understandably encouraged the shippers, this tunnel scene was pretty much the biggest nothing-burger in the history of ships.

(With the possible exception of every time Caryl was going to go canon, according to the shippers. And…didn’t. 😏 )

I don’t mean to sound disrespectful. I have an ask in my inbox, which I haven’t answered yet, but I will (bear with me; there’s been a lot to post lately so I’m a bit behind on Asks) that accuses me of throwing shade at the Donnie ship. I’m sorry if it comes across that way. That isn’t my intention. As always, everyone is both welcome and entitled to ship whomever their heart desires. I’m just pointing out that it’s not going to go canon on the show. And we’ve been saying that since Connie first came on the scene.

Feel free to doubt me if you wish, but we haven’t been wrong yet, have we? And it just wouldn’t make any logistical sense to suddenly throw Daryl into a relationship with only 2 episodes to go and tons of stuff they have to cover before the end.  Just not gonna happen, my friends.

Now, as to the TTD and all the poles and everything, I have my suspicions about those. I’ll talk about them below, as will my theorist buddies. Keep reading. Overall, just know I’m not worried about this. Never have been. They’ve told us too many times in the show that that’s not where they’re going with it. And, low and behold, once again, they didn’t.

In the beginning of the TTD episode Chris announced that they would be sharing the 5 most romantic moments in TWD. Apparently, it was some type of survey that's had been going on elsewhere online. This is just my guess that fans submitted what they thought were the most romantic moments and then they narrowed it down (still guessing) to the final 5. 

So, it wasn't known to everyone. It wasn't anything that had been announced previously on the ttd. I believe it was on a TWD site that a lot of people frequent but not everyone knew it was going on. No indication of how many people entered a romantic moment suggestion it was just, here's the results. 

There was no other talk of other possible romances for Daryl. There was no mention of Leah or Beth. Only talk of Carol and Connie. Seriously guys can you blame the viewership? 

Daryl carrying both out of Grady was an iconic moment but you would not call that romantic, heart breaking but not really a romantic moment. If no Bethyler submitted the intertwined fingers at the grave site or Daryl watching Beth at the piano or eye exchange "oh" moment at the table then there would be no Bethyl moment to vote for.

I think you’re probably right. The bethyl fandom feels a bit diffused as well, like ppl ship it but aren’t as active online in big droves. Sort of related, but I’ve found a lot of ppl from other fandoms I’m in also ship bethyl but haven’t watched TWD in a while. It has a lot of crossover with certain other Desperately Tragic™ ships I partake in lol. So, I am also not really surprised there wasn’t a bethyl moment.

Even though like you said, Norman talked about Daryl having had feelings for Beth in season 4 in his origins episode, I think it would be kind of a major eyebrow-raiser for them to include a bethyl moment. People would immediately be like, “Ummmmmmmm is she coming back?” I can’t tell at this point whether that’s what they would want, or not. But I do know that if they want fans to start figuring things out, it will be highly orchestrated, and it won’t happen until they’re perfect and ready.

I finally watched TTD and wanted to put some thoughts in about it. They suggested “designation 2” simply meant death, but I agreed with the Rick guy who said if they wanted to kill Connie, they would have just done it at the CW. They were clearly taking her somewhere else for some other purpose. But I thought the fact that they even suggested “death” might have been a hint that maybe people might have believed her dead, even if she wasn’t. And of course then AMC put in the option for the CRM, which is what everyone chose. I enjoyed seeing that, not only because clearly their hinting at the CRM story line, but because a good deal of the GA is now aware of and anticipating it.

They did mention Maggie looking for Hershel along the tracks being a parallel to her looking for Glenn in S4. It’s always nice when they confirm our thinking. ;D

Then Lauren Cohan said something about there being a lot of “accidental sentimentals” this season. By that, she meant accidental callbacks to things in earlier seasons. I literally laughed out loud at that. We all know nothing is “accidental” with AK and Gimple. But more than that, I’m pretty sure this was a practiced answer from Lauren. Who comes up with the phrase “accidental sentimentals” on the spot?

The thing that jumped out at me about the Daryl/Connie question was Lauren Ridloff’s answer. When they asked her directly, she kind of puttered around and said that Daryl and Connie were awkward together and are “not clear where they stand with each other.”

It’s kind of similar to what they said about Daryl not understanding his feelings for Beth back in S5. And I know that sounds like an argument for Donnie being a thing, but I don’t mean it to be. Back in S5, when they said this about Beth and Daryl, nothing went canon. It’s almost a sign that it WON’T happen. Or at least, in Bethyl’s case, not yet. And you might be able to argue for seasons down for Donnie…except that this is the final season and LR is heading off to film a different series and several films, so I don’t see her being on screen much with Daryl in the next year or three, even if her character survives the finale.

I also want to contrast this hemming and hawing and, “we don’t really know where we stand” with what they said on the TTD after Still. They literally raised a toast to “Daryl, and his girlfriend Beth.” So yeah. Once again, much like the “tunnel of love,” there’s just literally nothing going on here. I noted when Norman talked about the train scene being filmed out in the middle of nowhere, away from cameras. You talked about that, Ann.

Also, AK said Daryl and Carol are best friends and soulmates. She equated those two things. Which is important because she’s using it in a platonic soulmates way. They’ll always be BFFs. Mother/son or siblings. Whatever you want to call it. She talks about how they can even get really mad at one another, but then forgive one another and come back together and it’s not a big deal. So, just important to note that sometimes, when AK talks about soulmates, she’s not talking about romance.

Lauren Ridloff had a line when she was talking about Kelly. I think Chris asked her what Connie would have thought if she knew what was going on at the labor camp with Kelly or something. I didn’t write the entire thing down, but she said something about how it was a bad situation where people could be hurt or killed (referencing the three who tried to escape and were shot) and Connie would not have been happy if that happened to Kelly. It was just kind of the way she said it; the way she emphasized it, that made it feel like perhaps a clue to me. But I’m not sure to what. Maybe to either Connie or Kelly’s deaths? Idk. Like I said, just kinda stood out to me.

The only other note I had is that when AK was talking about Daryl becoming a parent these past seasons, it showed a picture of him sitting by the fire in Inmates with Beth. She’s not in the shot. It’s just him sitting there with his knees pulled up. But it still jumped out at me that they’d used a shot from a Beth scene. I still can’t decide whether it fits with the rest of the pics they used.

Maybe I’m reading too much into it. AK was talking about how Daryl came from a bad family background, so he’s trying to provide the stability for the kids that he never had. It showed scenes of him hallucinating Merle in Chupacabra, and a few others. And my first thought was that the scene from Inmates really doesn’t fit with those. Then again, he did open up to Beth about his father. And Merle. But those weren’t the scenes it showed either. Just the one from Inmates. Anyway, I’m rambling. Just something that caught my attention.

Again, I don’t think I have anything new to say about anything else. I agree with your analysis of the “top 5 romantic moments,” @wdway. If Bethylers had known, there would be a Bethyl moment there. But honestly, I don’t think even many Carylers knew. Sure, the Cherokee Rose moment was there, but it seems to me that if Carylers were choosing this, we would have seen either the hug after Terminus or the hug at the Cabin in S7 be in the top 5. Both of those moments, in the Carylers’ eyes at least, had more “romance” than the Cherokee Rose did.

Honestly, I can’t imagine the fandom at large choosing Aaron and Eric as one of the top 5 moments. I’m not saying it wasn’t sweet and sad, but it also wasn’t a romance that was showcased for the audience. They were already together when we met them, and the writers didn’t go too far out of their way to make us invested in the relationship. Eric’s death was more about Aaron’s grief than about the relationship itself. So yeah, I think the writers just chose some romantic moments to put in, and specifically steered clear of Beth and Daryl.

And what about the Donniers? I get that they could not have chosen the moment when Daryl freed her in this episode because the “poll” (if there really was one) was done before this episode aired. But still, we had him taking her hand a couple of seasons back when they were looking for Kelly. And the hug when they reunited, and he dropped the apple crate. The Donnie ship is arguable the most active ship right now because the writers are actually having moments of interaction between Daryl and Connie on the show. Are you honestly telling me all the Donniers knew about this poll and none of those moments made it into the top 5? But…Aaron and Eric, who died four years ago and whose relationship no one was super invested in, did? See what I mean?

Want to just write this down before I forget it because it really struck me, and I’ve never thought of it before. Per the note about the shot of Daryl from Inmates and becoming a father. Daryl and Beth’s arc in Inmates is short and brutal and the whole thing is about him following Beth and trying to find the kids. He is hopeless and numb all through the episode while Beth is taking charge and trying to get a rise out of him.

In that shot he’s just numbly sitting staring at the fire while Beth is telling him all the things that could be true and who could still be alive. Eventually, she goes off and he follows her, and she tells him to start tracking, which he does. They walk past the dead bunnies, and they see the squished grapes. 

Beth starts picking the grapes frantically saying that the kids will be hungry when they find them, grasping for hope. He hands her the bandana. They then track Lizzie, Mica, Judith, Tyreese, and Carol (tho they don’t know it at the time), out to the train tracks where they find all the carnage, including Luke’s shoe, and Beth breaks down crying, while Daryl remains yet emotionless.

So, the episode is really about them trying to find their children, who they ultimately determine to be dead, and Beth cries for the first time in a very long time, because she knows they have failed. It’s an echo of when Rick and Carl find Judith’s empty car seat in “After.” It’s just a horrifying failure. That might be why Angela chose that shot.

Also, this may be kind of…crass? Lol idk the word. But in the first shots of Inmates, we ofc see Daryl and Beth running from walkers. When they can’t run anymore, they fall to the ground and there’s this sexual imagery. I really don’t think I’m along on reading it that way lol. Anyway, this then gives way to them searching for their lost children. I don’t know if it’s foreshadowing. But it does feel like they’re a “family.” Same way that Tyreese, Carol, and the girls are a family, and Rick, Michonne, and Carl are a family.

I was also thinking, with Connie, they had this opportunity to make her disappear the same way Beth did, and to be a motivating factor for the spin-off, but her kidnapping becomes a nothing burger and Daryl and Carol rescue her in two seconds. Ultimately, I could never ship Donnie because tptb clearly don’t care about Donnie. They might use it to drum up ship wars, but the truth is, Daryl and Connie had chemistry in the beginning and easily could have become a romantic couple. Instead, they made LEAH. Why would they do that if Donnie were endgame? It makes no narrative sense.

In some ways, Connie seems like she was made to annoy Carylers, lol. That whole cave-in plot seems made to complicate things between Carol and Daryl, not Daryl and Connie. When Beth is taken, it’s about Beth and Daryl and nobody else. HE loses her. It’s not Carol’s fault. Wouldn’t it make sense for tptb to do this, like make the fandom look left, while they secretly ready the universe for Beth to return? Seems like something they’d do. The best plot twists are those that you never see coming, but when they do happen, you’re somehow not surprised.

I want to know like if Daryl has had these love options like Connie and Carol for all this time, like why did they feel the need to invent a villain with Beth’s hair in order to give him some sort of love story? Seems weird to me!!!!

I’ve watched a lot of TV shows with epic ship wars and the Daryl ship wars aren’t even that hot because he hasn’t had any romantic contact with either Carol OR Connie. It’s all in the fans’ heads.

I mean ppl are so in denial about Beth because she was a teenager or whatever, but they at least HELD HANDS. He watched her sing, carried her on multiple occasions, stared at her with intensity, got drunk with her?? Looked at her like he still hasn’t looked at anyone. I know we’re all biased but I’m just stating the facts?? She started out about them being friends and then saying soulmates and how they communicate with each other and sometimes that's involves they don't always agree but they love each other. Yes, she actually used the word love. But that is so surface, she has said that so many times before and it's all true. But she never said romantic love.

The way I see it is they are bringing up (officially pointing) to the fact that Daryl has not had a True Romance. They're planting the seed. They're indicating that the series is coming to an end. And we already know that the episode that will air next week episode 22 there is absolutely nothing there between Daryl and Connie. We have not seen any sign of romance between Daryl and Carol. Yes, they are setting up the thought of Daryl and romance. That's what I was smiling about.

Another day another post including c!Wilbur in big bad manipulators list with c!Dream and c!Quackity and i go "huh, is he tho?"

Like genuienly i would want to know, bc to me at least all like c!Wilburs "attempts at manipulation" were like.. blandly obvious and not that well executed?

Not enough to secure him the position of a Big Bad Manipulator Who had an Overarching Big Plan Before This Specific Interaction and Knows What He's Doing.

Bc most ppl who call Wilbur a manipulator point to this quote here

Okay so I may have another perspective than most on the "Then let's be the bad guys" scene because, as I've said before, I have paranoid thoughts, so, for me, it's much much easier to put myself in Wilbur's shoes in that moment.

So, as far as I remember in Pogtopia, I would coin Wilbur's behaviour as persuasive. He was trying to persuade Tommy to his side, something that Tommy was free to ignore and not accept. Manipulation and persuasion are very tricky to tell apart, because it's two things that are very similar, and you can't tell them apart that easily. You know how all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares? Same thing here. All manipulation is persuasive, but not all persuasion is manipulative. There is a fine line between the two.

I googled it before I wanted to respond to this ask, but from what I gathered, you can tell persuasion from manipulation by these factors: coercion, withholding of truth and intention.

I want to compare Wilbur's case with our most blatant example of manipulation, Dream. Especially since it's centered on the same character, Tommy:

Coercion. The Dictionary defines the term "coercion" as "the use of force to persuade someone to do something that they are unwilling to do". I do not remember any moment in Pogtopia where Tommy was forced to act against what he wanted to do. The way he spoke to Tommy was always open to Tommy rejecting his ideas, which happened quite a lot. It's another thing if later, Tommy, of his own volition, agreed to what Wilbur wanted, like blowing up Manberg at the Festival.

Dream, on the other hand, we see it a lot in Exile. The threats to Tommy's life. The hitting. He was forcing Tommy to stay in Logsted and give up his gear. That's one box ticked for Dream, zero for Wilbur so far.

Withholding of truth. Here I am as stumped as you are. I want someone, who thinks that the "Then let's be the bad guys" scene is manipulative, to tell me where Wilbur is withholding the truth. The President line? this one? [“Tommyinnit, you’re scared that people are gonna think differently of you. Tommy, when I said you’re never gonna be president, you gotta understand, that wasn’t a challenge, that’s true. You’re never gonna be president, Tommy. And I can hear it in your voice, you’re trying sound like you know what you’re doing, so that you can prove me wrong. Tommy, none of us know what we’re doing. We’re fucked, we were fucked the minute we were thrown out.” - (Wilbur’s video Am I the Villain?: 19:39)] or these? [“That guy Tubbo? You know? We love Tubbo… but he’s not on our side, is he? Let’s be honest. We act like he is, like, everyone’s always how like, oh it’s crazy how everyone’s against Schlatt.” - (Wilbur’s who are you go away: 1:12:57, 8th Oct)], [“Everyone’s always saying how like, oh it’s crazy how everyone’s against Schlatt. No one’s against Schlatt. Everyone’s pulling the biggest ruse on us. Literally, they’ve got us all by the fucking scruff of our necks.” - (Wilbur’s video Am I the Villain?: 17:59)], [“Tubbo’s like, ‘I’ll be your spy!’. And then we’ve got like Fundy who’s like saying to everyone’s twitch chats that he’s gonna revolt against us. And you’ve got Eret giving us fucking potatoes, that say fucking ‘I’m gonna be friends with you’. It’s bullshit! It’s all bullshit!” - (Wilbur’s video Am I the Villain?: 18:09)] Honestly someone tell me where Wilbur is withholding the truth here. I do not see it. He's just stating his opinion. I am someone who was around in Season 1, I watched Wilbur's POV only and I swear I thought too that Tubbo was a double agent for Manberg. I was sure of it. This is just Wilbur laying out his reasons to be paranoid and things he considers as true and his own opinions on matters. Opinions are not lies or truths. Telling Tommy that he will never be President, in his opinion, isn't a lie or the truth. It's just an opinion.

Meanwhile over in Dream's camp... Dream did withhold the truth. He lied about Tubbo's Compass, he lied about the Invitations, all of this he did to get Tommy to his lowest, to make him think that he is his only friend. This is the second box ticked for Dream, still none for Wilbur.

Intention. Here I need to talk about what paranoia is. Paranoia, to me, is a way of thinking fueled by fear. Wilbur's paranoia started because of the Final Control Room. Eret's betrayal deeply affected him, we can see it in quotes like this: [“Anyone caught in the crossfire is caught in the crossfire. That’s how it goes, you know? Eret especially, he is the most clear, the most clear cut traitor of them all. He was a traitor from the very get go. I have no, I have no remorse offing Eret.” - (Wilbur’s who are you go away: 1:41:22, 8th Oct)] Wilbur's paranoia started from a betrayal, therefore, Wilbur's paranoia is centered on people backstabbing him. Of course he would start spiraling into a rant about how everyone is out to get him. Especially after believing his own son betrayed him. So, why tell that to Tommy? Simple, really. I personally do it, too: he was reaching out for support. When I have doubt about my train of thought, I go to someone I trust, and they help me by walking me through it, to figure out if my thinking was rational or if it was paranoia. I think this is what he was trying to do with Tommy, because he trusted Tommy, but also it was an attempt of keeping him safe. I have talked before in my Eight analysis that Wilbur is a naturally protective person. I think Wilbur was attempting in part to shield Tommy from another shock from betrayal, attempt which didn't get across to Tommy. Tommy was and is a teenager and even back then he had his own worries. He just didn't have the resources to help Wilbur, or even understand what he was going through, and he can't be blamed, and while the scene may have been scary for him, I do not think Wilbur had malicious intent with it.

Meanwhile, Dream had malicious intent. He did what he did in an attempt to isolate Tommy, to make him feel alone, so he could swoop in and mold him into thinking he was his friend. This ticks off the last box, Dream was manipulating Tommy, while Wilbur was trying to be persuasive.

While I agree that Wilbur is dipping into manipulative territory with the stone bit, I would say that doesn't make him stand in the line-up of manipulators alongside Dream or Quackity. I do agree however that he is a big persuader and his power lies in how he uses words to convince others to agree with him and join him on a cause (as discussed above, this is not necessarily manipulation). well I guess it’s a rite of passage now for the eeby deeby to send you an au wash ask so I guess it’s my turn now! hmmmm let’s see. how about wash adopting hawks and taking down the commission? oooo or wash is a mastermind behind the trigger black market? orrrrrrr wash is actually a Hatsume(TM) experiment gone rogue but some civilian saw it and assumed it was a hero and now they’re too far in to stop now and you’d think the easy thing would be to just get involved in a crisis and have “wash” tragically fail but nooo the Hatsumes can’t possibly even consider destroying one of their babies (even if it’s becoming a hassle to have to maintain the uptake of the machine - the automated voice is damaged beyond repair without completely taking the whole thing apart, though at least fans enjoy the fact that the faulty wiring only lets the experiment say “wash”)

Why not make all three of those options co-exist? After all every Wash AU needs to be a little bit cursed!

AU: Wash adopts Hawks, is also a Hatsume experiment and the mastermind behind the trigger trade AND takes down the hero commission.

- This AU relies heavily on another HC I have which is that the HC just kind of saw Wash one day and decided to give him a license because it means they can keep an eye on him, this also means they often bring him in for supplementary training which is where he first meets Hawks.

He meets him maybe three years into Hawk’s training program, so he’s still a little kid and Wash may only be a some-what sentient ‘failed’ experiment but the Hatsume family have him on the family register and invite him over for dinner/weekly repair check-ups  so he has some grasp of a human family structure and healthy child rearing environments. (I’ll say Hawks is maybe nine here? So Mei can be born but she’s a baby still)

- After their first meeting Wash finds ways to be an ‘instructor’ for the winged child and the Hero Commission figure Hawks learning their biggest blind spots weaknesses up close and personal is a long-term environment.

The ‘training’ is just Wash taking him to the Hatsume family for their weekly dinners/family get togethers. If the Hatsume’s have to cancel for whatever reason then Wash takes him to his hideouts that have somehow become criminal havens.

Like full on, underground trading rooms and stuff, Wash just bought a bunch of warehouses as is the HATSUME TM way and rents them and a bunch of criminals see that Wash just... didn’t question them and all think he’s some traitor but he just learnt not to ask questions when he sees dodgy dealings bc the Hatsume’s definitely have their fingers in some dodgy pies.

Because he technically owns ‘safe havens’ and lets pretty much whatever (as long as it’s not like human trafficking) happen under his roof people kind of... crowd around him? And see him as some kind of defacto patron of the trigger trade.

Hawks realises this very quickly but since he’s growing up in the bowls of the worst of hero society he doesn’t even question it, it’s very much a “You know when you’re like ‘this might as well happen’?” moment.

- Wants Hawks turns eighteen Wash hands him over a few of his warehouses bc the kid needs somewhere off the grid you know? And Wash couldn’t get him out as a kid but he played the role of Dad and Dad’s are supposed to give their kids big presents right? This then makes Hawks a drug prince, and causes chaos and the fear of a power struggle within the trigger world until ppl realise Wash is still the ‘big boss’.

Bare in mind here nobody asks Wash how to run the trade, it’s literally just that he happens to own most of the buildings it’s made, traded and stored in. This also means that he’s the best person to be under because NOBODY thinks that Wash has them in his private warehouses even though all signs point to them, the hero commission just laugh at the police when they ask for permission to investigate a hero’s private property because ‘really? that guy? You think THAT GUY? We’re scared bc of his quirk but let’s be real he has no brains to speak of, you think he could run a drug trade?’

- Eri is saved a earlier than in canon because Overhual tried to poach on Wash’s territory and someone went to Hawks like “Hey little Boss, this Yakuza wants to experiemnt on a kid. But like we’re coming to you because he’s trying to seel on big boss’ turf” and Hawks has to try and figure out how the actual fuck he’s going to explain how his ‘intel’ guy got into the kind of situation to hear about Overhaul and why they came to HIM with it.

He ultimately decides to take a leaf out of the Hatsume book and claim utter ignorance in the face of a situation where ignorance cannot be claimed because ppl will be so confounded they’ll just let you get away with it.

So, he just takes a bunch of goons who think they’re Wash’s right hands and they storm the compound and steal Eri away and Hatsume Mei tagged along because chaos cousins.

- The fall of the hero commission comes in the form of Wash adopting Eri, claiming Hawks saved her based on intel and when asked why Hawks would do it as like a ‘passionate rescue’ rather than one that went through the proper channels Wash literally just drops the ball about the child hero project and Wash is so baffling people actually can’t find any reason he’d LIE so they look into it and low and behold, Crimes against humanity.

1. When did you eating disorder begin?

2012 (I was 17)

2. What is your earliest related memory?

I started a food journal and weighing myself. Didn’t like how high the number was. Before that I had some body image issues related to puberty but ate whatever I wanted.

3. Favorite safe foods?

Non fat yogurt, berries, rice cakes

4. Favorite safe meal?

Coconut milk and low cal cereal (rice crispies or cheerios)

5. How do you handle hard days?

Not sure that this means but when I’m upset I either sleep, watch tv/read, or use harmful behaviors.

7. How do you comfort yourself after a binge?

Purge or fast, I used to also burn myself.

8. What type of ED do you have?

I’ve had anorexia (b/p subtype), bulimia, and BED at different times. Right now mostly restricting and binging/purging occasionally.

9. When did you realize you had an ED?

Not sure but I remember when I started purging I realized it wasn’t just a “diet”.

10. Do you have any recovery tips?

Meal plans (healthy ones preferably made by a dietitian) are great for learning what normal portions are again. For starting recovery: a good pros/cons list and reflecting on everything your ED has taken from you. Also having at least one person to be accountable to, especially a professional if you have access to that.

11. Does anyone know about your ED?

Pretty much all of my friends and family. It’s hard to hide it when you’ve been in treatment so much.

12. What is an embarrassing ED related story you have?

Once when I was drunk with friends (really drunk, like I can barely remember everything) I started feeling nauseous and said in front of everyone “don’t worry, I used to be bulimic” (at the time I still was) then proceeded to purge in the bathroom with the door open. Also multiple occasions of shitting myself due to laxatives (no one knows about that).

41hrs only drinking water and coffee

14. Do you have any other ED communities?

15. Have you recovered/relapsed before?

Yes, multiple times.

Not sure...maybe that I feel like I’ll never 100% recover. I’ve told at least one person everything else.

Recovery does get easier, though it sucks at first. Living with an ED isn’t really living, you deserve better. Things really are darker/less enjoyable when you’re sick.

23. Do you have a partner? If so do they know about you ED?

No, I’m single. My last S.O. was a huge cause of a very bad relapse a few years ago and I’m still healing from his abuse.

24. Do you want to recover?

I’ve been actively trying to recover for the last year. I don’t want to lose the life I’ve built for myself in that time, but relapse is so tempting.

25. Do you actually enjoy working out?

I’ve never really liked formal exercise (like things you do at the gym) but there are other things I like doing, mainly caring for and riding horses (I own two horses, help at the barn, and compete). I also like hiking.

Not exactly, except purging while inpatient, but I’ve had people question me right after using a behavior.

I don’t strictly eat “clean” but I don’t just eat junk. Mostly it’s just the amount of calories something has.

When I’ve been underweight my libido decreases which I don’t really mind.

Low calorie popsicles and certain crackers/chips. I’ll eat anything in small quantities if it fits into my calorie limit.

Not sure. I used to think people thought I was ugly, now I’m just afraid they think I’m fat.

Not sure, no one has ever given me “advice”, it’s more of what I’ve over heard people saying. I think people that don’t understand that calories in/calories out matters more than what type of food you eat.

Body neutrality has helped my in the past. Mostly focusing on what my body can do rather than how it looks.

40. How do you handle ED related nausea, fatigue, sickness, weakness?

I avoid a lot of it by eating small amounts throughout the day and not fasting. I used to be able to fast a lot but don’t anymore cause I don’t want to feel like shit at work. Oh and I abuse caffeine to combat fatigue.

BWAH! You're not wrong. You know what I'm wondering, if they've put him in some of those outfits because they are showing his suburban dad side? It's kind of a subtle nod to him embracing father hood and a different way of life? He's now all about running around the yard after his daughter and not about what he looks like when he's being SERKAN BOLAT, FAMOUS BUSINESS MAN and WORLD'S BEST ARCHITECT.

Also, Eda's hair, thank goodness they let that go once the flashbacks were over and we didn't need something to distinguish between then and now! Those curly bangs were not it.

We do deserve to see how they reconcile, that should be one of the biggest moments of the season after 7 episodes of build up to it.

90% of final scenes in this show have continued uninterrupted the next week. To me there's no reason to think the next episode won't pick up right where this one left off. Crossing fingers!

Oh so true! Kemal really does love his mother more than she deserves! How he puts up with her, I don't know.

The parallel between Serkan/Kemal and Kiraz/Serkan is strong and I hope it gives Serkan some perspective when he starts grappling with this knowledge. I'm sure it's going to be very disconcerting for him, because while he expected to never see his father again, Alptekin is still his father. He's still the man who raised him and formed him into the man he is. Serkan still runs the company he founded and bears his name.

I don't expect any of that to change, but hopefully he can forge a separate relationship with Kemal that might fill some emotional holes that he has and bring him some peace.

None of that even contemplates how Kemal will feel, thankfully Aydan didn't willfully hide the truth from him. How awful to realize you lost 35 years.

We aren't there yet, but I wonder at what age with Kiraz learn the truth, that her dad is not an astronaut, that her parents went through hell with with cancer and plane crashes, and that her father didn't know of her existence until right before they met?

Just something to think about.

Yes, this is one of my pet peeves, I can't stand the "Edser left the chat" and all the "that's Hanker, not Edser" type conversation. it's so invasive and most of all disrespectful to not only the writers, but Hande and Kerem and all the work they pour into bringing Eda and Serkan to life.

One of the things in fandom that sets my teeth on edge is when folks take some interpretation of the character by the actor and then decide because it wasn't "scripted" (pro tip the vast majority of physical movements the actors make are "unscripted") that it must just be the actors themselves and have nothing to do with the characters. What an embarrassing and naïve assertion. Actors literal job is to take what's on the page and then translate that. So, no, OF COURSE, every look and touch is not scripted. The actors interpret how their characters would think and feel, and what they would do in given moments and then do those things.

Eda is not touching Serkan's arm just because Hande can't hold herself back from touching Kerem. Puh-lease, they are professionals. Grow up.

However, having said all that, I do think there was one scene that seemed to be very improvised this episode. The bean scene in the grocery store did feel like them just eFFing around. LOL.

Anonymous asked: From some of the spoilers of BTS pics, and the fragman we got, I was just reflecting on this season and Turk romcom dizis in general and I just wanted to say how LUCKY we are to see Edser married (again, from spoilers) and with a kid on screen for more than just 10 minute at the end of the finale. Like, it is really rare and as much as people have nitpicked on this season in general, I feel like watching these last episodes have been such a breeze after the last arc of S1.

Oh agreed, I think these episodes have been very enjoyable. The writers are giving me exactly what I want from this show. Comedy, UST, romance with a little light angst thrown in now and again. I would rewatch this season a dozen times before even thinking about watching anything from the 30s.

We are very lucky that we've got to see them as parents, and actually forming their family. We've gotten so much domestic goodness so far and we still have a ways to go. I'm very appreciative of this season and that Ayse came back, got rid of the constant ridiculous melodrama for melodrama's-sake and is telling a very human story about family and love persevering.

at the beginning of my shift at work today, a little second grade girl who recently joined the program asked me “were you (little boy’s name)’s tutor last year?” 

and i said “yes, i was. how did you know that?”

she said “he told me you were but i didn’t believe him.”

“oh, well, he was telling the truth about that. is he in your class?”

“no but he’s on my bus. and he was in my class last year” (i actually knew they were in the same class last year because i saw her on his zoom meetings)

and that’s all well and good but then she said the reason she didn’t believe him is because he was one of the biggest troublemakers, he lies a lot (this was not news to me, obviously, as i was his authority figure for almost a whole school year) but then she also said he was her biggest bully, last year and then still this year. 

and i was like... :/// didn’t really know how to respond. in the moment since i felt the need to *react* to what she was saying, i just kind of muttered “little boys can be like that sometimes.” but like. i fucking hate that response. it wasn’t the worst thing i could’ve said and i didn’t say it in a way to dismiss that he did it but more in like an “i understand” sort of way.

and the thing is, even though this girl is new, she just started like a week or two ago... i don’t see her playing w the other kids a lot. i mean it’s hard to tell for certain bc i don’t keep my eyes on any one child for the whole time, and she also gets picked up pretty damn early. i’ve not spent that much time w her. but my boss made that observation to me before all the kids came down today, that the other kids don’t seem to approach her, even when you try to gently nudge them towards her. 

that’s one of the worst things to see as an adult in that situation, or at least for me it is, because it’s so upsetting and i know how it is to be bullied and ignored. just... not liked or appreciated. i felt a LOT of that when i was a kid ESPECIALLY in elementary school. but at the same time if you seem like you’re trying to *force* other kids to play with the one being left out... it draws attention to it and makes it worse. it can make their rejection of that child become explicitly stated, too, which... yikes that’s counterproductive.

today i made sure that once i was done helping kids w homework that i would go over to her and make sure she’s occupied, and we mostly just played a bunch of one-on-one games. and it wasn’t that long, not for more than fifteen or twenty minutes, bc her dad came to pick her up. but normally during times where i’m playing one-on-one w someone, i still get other kids still tugging at my pant leg (so to speak) asking for attention as well. maybe it was a coincidence that i didn’t get so much of that. when im focusing on only one or a few kids at a time, ppl aren’t afraid to interrupt me, regardless of the child/ren im playing with. on that fear im probably reading too much into it actually. but yeah.

to get back to the bullying by my former pupil, i don’t know what to do about that. i don’t know what kind of bully he is, and it makes me kind of concerned, what has their bus driver witnessed? he is also not a child i regularly interact with anymore, because he’s not part of our program. i’m not in charge of him anymore. i have a whole bunch of other kids under my wing now instead. i’m not even an official employee of the school. 

like... i don’t assume the right answer is to... tell his mom? i havent talked to his mother in months. i also can’t be specific about what he’s done. i know he’s gotten notes home from his teacher before, but none of the ones i’ve been informed of have specifically been about bullying. but i’m not his parents! maybe they have been told! maybe they haven’t! they have a fuller story than i do. 

it is the kind of thing i know would upset his mother, because she’s a very kind person and those are not the principles she wants to raise him with. i feel like i have no ownership over this situation, though. 

but just as she was leaving and i told her i had a great day with her, she asked “next time i come here, if you’re here...” (she has an irregular schedule w us) “can we play together again?” and it was sweet of course but it also made me kind of sad. i said “yes of course” though. i mean duh that’s my job but i also i had a good time and she’s a nice girl.

this is what i mean when i say working with children can be rewarding but it can also be really draining sometimes. when u see their struggles and u can only do so much by yourself it sucks. but i mean this also isn’t by far the most hopeless i’ve felt about a situation. this isn’t the first bullied child i’ve had or the most unique circumstance i’ve encountered a child in. i just hope i can get her to open up more and play well w the others. at the end of the day that’s the best thing i can do with any of them.

• buggy has trouble dealing with grief without either shutting down or lashing out, and also cannot for the love of god stand up for himself he is traumatized. he had an issue with trying to put on a smile all the time but after the juggy event he is much more willing to be human now LOL. embrace feeling emotion w your friends after grieving together

• skuggy has trouble accepting love both platonic and romantic bc his brain is telling him they r lying or have deeper intentions 😔he also refuses to show any concerning emotion around anyone bc he’ll look Vulnerable but it usually ends up in him burning out and being concerning anyways LNFNDKF.

• the only emotions farrow n dex allow themselves to feel is anger and joy LMFNDNDKKSK anything else? nonexistent . poof . farrow filters all his negative emotions so that they come out as rage, while dexter just doesn’t know how to handle anything other than anger or joy because he didn’t have any use for them or time to waste processing emotions, he has a town of take over! so instead whenever he feels a new emotion he internally panics LOL. farrow just refuses to let anyone know he feels at all and has not cried in years. ok maybe thats a lie but before dying he went years without shedding One tear cuz what is there to cry abt when youre winning

• it is not easy to get farrow to cry despite the fact hes been bottling it in ever since he was like 16 because hes so fuckin determined to keep up his image of being Unmovable, but the things that usually does make him cry are just being too overwhelmed, not knowing how to handle his emotions, or being really scared

• seeing skuggy cry is like seeing a blue fuckin moon, he just doesnt do it unless he’s Also overwhelmed with negative shit, really worried about someone, or being thrown back 2 da past. he doesnt even like crying in front of ppl he trusts and he’ll get upset if they try to comfort him

• buggy feels very strongly and still is hesitant to cry as to not worry anyone but youre more likely to see him cry than the others, he cries if he’s really emotionally hurt or worried or if he missed someone a lot. other than that hes a happy guy

• dexter does not cry . i cannot imagine him crying thats how hard wired edgy i wrote him. im still trying to wrap my head around him feeling love for his brother for the first time in dnd so i am not at the point where i can think of what makes him cry yet. why do grown cis men who thrive off toxic masculinity cry? ive only ever seen fathers cry when everything is lost. even then i think dexter would just sit there in silence and zone out or smtng not cry

The shipping question- Any ship from MCTNA that involves Seon Ho.

Let’s do a couple because I’m indecisive and actually ship Seon-ho with everyone!

Seon-ho/Hwi

Do I ship it? Yes!

What made you ship it? I maybe started with that first fight scene with the ppl signing ppl up for the military exam. Fight duo ships are good! It's not always their dynamic but it was a good place to start.

What are your favorite things about the ship? Sometimes two guys are enemies and have opposing goals but also would be willing to risk their lives for each other and ruin their own plans and I think that’s beautiful. Just, the tension of all the times Seon-ho and Hwi go against each other while you know, you know that it’s tearing them up. They have their own convictions and important goals and deliberately don’t put each other as the most important thing in their lives--except that at the end of the day, they still care about each other so much that they end up dying in each other’s arms and are honestly okay with that. Also they just have good chemistry, what can I say.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Idk I think fandom consensus for MCTNA is pretty similar to my thoughts. Uhh it would be less spicy if Seon-ho and Hwi didn’t betray each other all the time so I think their lack of communication and general assholery is a Good Thing Actually, in that it caters to my tastes. I would be more frustrated if the show portrayed their relationship as a rivalry (whether in terms of martial skill or in romance or whatever) bc then the conflict would feel kind of petty. As-is, they both have good reasons for the way they act. Well. “Good” reasons...

Seon-ho/Bang-won

Do I ship it? But of course!

What made you ship it? I really liked both actors and thought they acted well together. Their first meeting is fun, too, the snarking back and forth and then the dead horse. (...usually a dead horse would turn me off a ship. idk why that isn't the case here.)

What are your favorite things about the ship? They have similar tragic backstories (well, more like tragic presents as their parental issues and murdering and Hwi issues are ongoing). They’re nemeses but it’s very unequal--you get the sense that Seon-ho sees Bang-won as his biggest threat, while Bang-won definitely has more to fear from Nam Jeon. (To be fair, Seon-ho’s biggest enemy is also Nam Jeon, but that’s different. What I mean is, he certainly opposes Bang-won, not Seung-gye.) Bang-won even sort of pities Seon-ho. That scene where he almost kills Seon-ho while saying Seon-ho can rest now is very good bc it shows both sides of the attitude--it’s merciless mercy. Also, the two opposing sides of a love triangle are always a good dynamic, and what are Seon-ho and Bang-won if not that?

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Is this ship common enough that I can have an unpopular opinion? Do ppl have opinions on it? Umm how about: Bang-won respects Seon-ho more than Seon-ho respects Bang-won, despite what I said above about him pitying him. Seon-ho barely sees Bang-won as human and despises his politics; Bang-won sees Seon-ho as a threat but does in fact also see him as human. (There are a lot of ppl who Seon-ho doesn’t really see as ppl, more as the show goes on, and that’s largely bc of his need to constantly be on the offensive and his weird class position. People who are higher class than him or theoretically his equals are a threat; people of a lower class he has to act better than if he wants to maintain his dignity as a noble. His father has specifically trained him to be ruthless not to connect with anyone, and the lack of connection leads him to a position where he has a decent sense of theoretical morality--equality, loyalty, etc--but little compassion, and even that theoretical morality he often fails to put into practice. Seon-ho/Sung-rok

Do I ship it? Yeah!

What made you ship it? Burning buildings... Also Sung-rok attacking Hwi out of what seemed to be mostly jealousy after the second timeskip lols. I was like "Sung-rok, are you having feelings??"

What are your favorite things about the ship? Two people who originally were so snappish towards each other and almost killed each other because partners, friends.... one might even say ~coworkers~.... lols but Seon-ho actually trusts Sung-rok and the two are a rare duo in MCTNA that, once they agree to work together, never fight against each other again. And you get the sense that for a long time, Sung-rok is Seon-ho’s only real support in a world where there’s no one he can trust. You may say, “okay but that’s all on Seon-ho’s side. what is Sung-rok getting out of this?”, and honestly all I can tell you is that if I could hang out being BFFs with a murderous Woo Do-hwan, trying to help him advance a doomed political agenda, I would do so as well. Anyways Sung-rok’s death fucked me up. I’m never okay.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Not really tbh. I’d have to think about it.

I only have experience w high school art class and the mortification of showing people my fanwork was too much for me so I just did original art I was less passionate about to show teachers etc 😖 but I dont look back on that art as kindly as I do my old fanart either yknow ?

tldr: on the offchance ur school does allow it go for it cus no one will care, but i highly suggest taking the opportunity to explore original IPs instead because it's hard to do outside of an education environment, esp if ur normally into fanart (like me)

ok heres the long reply: its gonna be based all lot off of ur schools rules! to be honest a lot of my work was original, the only classes i submitted fanart for were my digital animation class bc i 1. was at the point where i didnt give a fuck LOL and 2. the professor did not check in with us before we started so we could do whatever.... and the other class was for character design because it was a fanart assignment 0: most other times i acually did strive to do original work and focused mainly on three different IPs i have.

i did dress up as naruto on multiple occasions tho because the opportunity popped up! probably like 5 times lol

i think something (and this is based on school) that you will discover is that professors genuinely do not care how outragous your content is! if anything if it's super whack then it's more entertaining and ull have more fun w it. i animated the nyan neko sugar girl rabies bite and my teacher didnt bat an eye and also made an oc in chara design whos biggest trait was being obsessed w how good she looked and having the BIGGEST tits and ass as a part of her character and my teacher was like 'yeah but this boot is uneven? watch the curve on her bra, etc'. i even used her in some of my bg paintings later haha. so i would say more than making fanart just feel out the vibe of ur school, it's honestly a REALLY good time to explore original work because once ur out u can make whatever you want, or do original work for ur assignments and fanart for fun? which is what i tried to do! when ur in you get feedback from other students and teachers which is something that becomes a lot harder post graduation, so learning how to build up strong original stories is great and you'll come out with lovable characters that r dear to u! but also some/most? schools don't allow fanart, mine normally didn't except for that animation class n i'm sure it's only cus he didnt recognize the source material haha..

also people really will not care if it is allowed because EVERYONE else at art school also draws for fun and is going because they want to. like no one is forced to go into art school and normally have to fight their way in. people at my school KNEW me as the naruto person who loved sasuke lol like i got coined the title of hokage for like the second half of my time there.. so do not fear! if ur talking and making connections with ur fellow peers (which u should really try to do) then eventually youll be talking about similar interests and sharing social medias anyways and unless ur drawing like. REALLY weird/yikes stuff it's fine! one of my best friends is making a living off of explicit furry nsfw rn lol

hopefully this helps i think i tried to answer like 20 questions instead of just 1 but i think fanart is a good segway into just type of content to make for school! also try to avoid putting fanart in your portfolio if you can, or keep it in a separate section. I keep my nice quality fanart in mine but specifically labelled in a section called fanart so people can look at my original work because that's where its All My Brain, which ppl wanna see if that makes sense. Fanart is something where someone would look to see how you executed a piece just for draftsmanships sake but ig another reason to not do a lot of fanart is you won't come out with as many portfolio pieces you can use confidently? some recruiters dont care and some do so its best to just be safe
