Please read:
Ok, so as I jokingly said before “I’m back.” - I’m not joking, I am back.
Not entirely yet but here are some things to wait for in the near future.
Before I list it I need to browse fast through the real life stuff first so bear with:
- one of the reasons I did go missing from art and fandoms in general wasn’t just the ammount of books but also family situations, depression, relationships and in the last few years I lost grandma, grandpa and even my mother to a disease they don’t have it diagnosed yet because it was so rare.
Obvsly took a major hit to my mental health and the ability to write and just have energy kinda left me. I’m handling it I’m in therapy. This is all we need to talk about it.
- it’s been over ten years since some of your fave fics have been updated and while both Clichesbullet on ff.net and thatu on DA will be there and won’t be deleted HERE are what’s to expect:
1. My endgame here is reading the books back and forth again, as well as other source
Material for other fandoms I will
Be publishing for.
-updating the old fan mixes and uploading it to Spotify so it’s more accessible and going back (when possible to art).
- I will use AO3 some new aesthetics and user name (though probably just thatu) and edit a lot more to fit what I believe is better not because the world changed in general but because so
Did I.
Some of the racism and homophobia will still be there are these are the characters having flaws whose arcs weren’t complete but lots of it will also be changed because I’m 34 now I also the world is changed and some stuff just wouldn’t fly and I kinda hate it (but the old material is still there available on the old
Accounts).
- I’m not sure technology will be adapted but some references will here and there and I can clearly deliver something better now that I’ve taught English for over half of my life and am taking a masters degree on translation studies.
- real life will get me too busy sometimes so please I hope you’re excited but I know lots
Of you also have jobs or even families. So leave reviews and keep
Me company but also understand I was bad at updating before even with better time
Management this is will be a ride.
- I’m doing this to prove myself I can do and make good things.
- This site as well as the thatu blog will be updated.
- if you were a follower and have deleted your tumblr or changed usernames please leave a reply with who we were because I’ve had an eventful few years. I remember most of you, but I may need a nudge.
- both my writing and art style have developed and so did my world views - stuff will look different but hopefully still bring you comfort. And laughter.
And tears…?
- there will be some one shots posted focusing on stuff like grown up characters and new knowledge
We now have though the characterization will still follow the book ones as that’s how I kinda got used to it.
- I’m back but I’ll be getting back slowly and posting updates here. Tell ur friends who haven’t been here in a while but used to be part of our group of
Weirdos.
- I missed being a fandom person and hopefully now I can find solace in you guys back again.
- some new fandoms will pop up, as will
Some
Ships (see what I did there? Find solace? Will some ships? Hehe).
-Some extra texts will be added to whatever adaptations I make especially regarding transphobia and HP though I do intend to finish my Hannah/Neville story.
- maybe I’ll write original
Stuff too who knows?
Also, I missed you, spread the word. There’s a brand new old me in town. New ships, new views, new one shots, edits, a very different music taste (actually no I just added more stuff) and a lot of improved knowledge of vocabs and world geography.
Please spread this to whoever you think might be interested. It’s not popularity or anything, I’m trying to get back some pieces of me I lost along the way and writing and drawing used to be FUN and help me make FRIENDS.
I’ll keep u posted once everything is at least remotely ready to go.
And omg you’ll finally know what Silena had on clarisse.
Oh and I’m still not for writing smut but there will be more Adult/Mature like material as some ships require it and I am older. No minors having descriptive s*x
Of course but u know it’d feel weird to talk about these huge ass long relationships and not bring it up naturally.
Anyway, reply to this with whatever. Leave a like or something too but mostly leave a reply so we can start this journey together -
New younger fans are also welcome I’ll make my best to keep this space as safe as possible!! I teach kids and teens and I’d kill for u to have a place to be you safely.
Also there will now be additions on author notes for whether a ship is canon or fanon what I adapted and new fandoms new ships and trigger warnings before sensitive chapters that deal with stuff that before I wouldn’t.
Love, I’ve missed this,
thatu.

holy shit
so i’ve been chugging along in silver, i’ve got a team that i’m gonna stick with as much as possible for the foreseeable future - bayleef, flaaffy, sudowoodo, vulpix, staryu, and arbok (some members will have to swap out to allow for hm moves at various points - staryu’s got surf and will get waterfall, i’ve got a hoothoot in the computer for fly and a krabby for whirlpool when that becomes a thing, bayleef has cut, sudowoodo has strength, and i’ve got a jigglypuff on standby with flash but i might also teach that to flaaffy just for simplicity’s sake if necessary)
anyway
i’ve gotten to cianwood, and i’ve done a decent job of spreading levels out amongst the team, so after getting the secretpotion i figure no reason not to take the gym on
five members of my team immediately get wiped by hitmonlee, which is three to six levels higher than my pokemon, and my only saving grace is that fighting is bad against poison apparently
so shout out to arbok, who took down hitmonlee with eight hp remaining, and then immediately was dunked into battle with hitmonchan and won that fight too

Hard Mouth ch. 18 mechanics
This is probably of interest to exactly 1 person, viz., me. But list-making and tabulation make brain go brr, so it’s happening anyway.
Mechanics notes for chapter 18:
A lot of people have asked if I rolled dice for this. I mostly didn’t. I could have, because I did mock up crude maps and stat blocks for all the Volstrucker; but actually playing through it would have been a procrastination time-suck. My rule for myself for fanfic these days is that I’m not allowed to edit before posting—because that’s a short road to total paralysis for me—but I am allowed to plan. Sometimes planning turns into a trap filled with all the quicksand anxiety I’m trying to sidestep by not editing, and I could spend eternity blocking and outlining if I let myself.
So instead, I looked at max/average/min damage for each of the spells I used and just kind of went with outcomes that felt balanced to me. Here's a recap of the spells and abilities used in this chapter.
1. The cheating homebrew:
Caleb’s Fun-Size Gravity Sinkhole One of the things that drives me nuts about translating dnd mechanics into prose is damage. In-game, spells do a certain amount of damage against characters who have a certain number of HP, and that’s it. IRL, different areas of the body are not all equally vital. With melee attacks, DMs can handle that by translating a damage number into a description of where the blow landed, but AoE spells can get weird. Basically, I couldn’t stop thinking about what should/would happen if you centered “a sphere of crushing force” oomphy enough to drag people around at a point inside someone’s heart or spinal cord or brain. So I homebrewed Gravity Sinkhole into a version that offers higher max damage, but requires a ranged spell attack. Further, all targets are treated as having half cover if more than 10′ distant, increasing to three quarters for more than 30′, maximum range 60′. My mechanical translation of Caleb’s first casting is that he was standing ten feet from the target, critted on the attack, and rolled pretty good damage against a target with lousy HP. Glancing hit (low damage roll) against second target (changeling). Advantage on attack roll against third target (because she was paralyzed and incapacitated), hit but did not crit, rolled middle-of-the-road damage but she was already pretty far down.
Volstrucker Glyph Chant tweaks Souping up antagonists doesn’t have the same narrative risks as doing the same for protagonists, so although Matt confirmed that the Glyph Chant ability conferred by the tattoos is reskinned Bladesinging, I went ahead and beefed that up even more. These changes wouldn’t fly in a real game, but in fic I do what I want. 🤷 - Bladesinging extra attack: “Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks.” Glyph Chant extra attack: “you can cast any spell with a casting time of 1 action in place of one of those attacks.” - Bladesinging itself is a wizarding subclass. But the whole point of the tattoos and the crystals and the experimentation on the Volstrucker is that Trent Ikithon is taking shortcuts to make people into the tools he wants. So I let each of these bitches have a subclass in addition to Bladesinging. It seems to tally with Caleb identifying as a former evocation specialist.
2. Pregame in the elven home:
Surprise round to the Volstrucker: - V1 (half-elf woman, enchantment wizard): bonus action Glyph Chant; drop invisibility; action to activate Daylight on driftglobe & actively look for sunlight sensitivity in members of M9 present - V2 (human man, conjuration wizard, holding his action for V1′s action): BA Glyph Chant, drop invisibility, cast Web - Yasha: gets a BA to rage/action to break free of the web on this round, thanks to Feral Instinct
Round 1: - Beau: monk attack + Flurry of Blows on V1, attempted Stunning Strike (target saves) - V2: Disintegrate at Caduceus (miss); critical hit in a melee attack on Beau for ~50 damage; movement down stairs toward Cad/Caleb - V1: Power Word: Pain on Beau + Mind Sliver on Yasha; no real movement. Bonus action kick Beau down the stairs, I guess. - Caleb: burn Fortune’s Favor mote to pass dex check against web; Slow (success on 1 of 2 targets); move away from webbing - Cad: Dispel on Beau, half movement within web’s difficult terrain
Round 2: - Beau: stand up, quarterstaff attack on V1 - V2: Cone of Cold on Caleb and Cad for middling damage (passed d20 roll imposed by Slow for his spell to complete in this round rather than next) - V1: successful Dominate Person on Beau (LOL, she’s a monk) + melee attack on Yasha (LOL, she’s raging and resistant to piercing damage) - Yasha: 1 melee attack miss when V1 casts Shield as a reaction + 1 hefty melee hit - Caleb: free action to warn Caduceus against over-investing in this fight; Fire Bolt against V2 - Cad: BA Healing Word on Beau, finish getting the fuck out of that web
Round 3: - Beau: Stillness of Mind, aka “enchanter, you thought?”; movement to flank V2 - V2: melee attack on Caleb, who chooses not to Shield, because… - V1: attempts to cast Sending, but is Counterspelled by Caleb - Yasha: Brutal Critical on V1, movement to flank V2 - Caleb: unarmed strike on V2 for one (1) point of damage - Cad: doesn’t even bother
Round 4: just a dump truck of melee attacks on V2, who fires off one last Cone of Cold in retribution, rolling excellent damage and taking a big bite out of Yasha’s HP as she fails the save.
I’m not going to go round by round for the rest of it, but that’s the general idea: trying to balance the chaos and “everything’s happening at once” factor of an IRL fight with what is and isn’t possible in 5e Dungeons & Dragons in order to get a sense of fair play.
3. Party at the Tumblecarves’
Guest list: Owelia, halfling divination wizard, Telepathic Ghostie, white-blonde human woman, abjuration wizard Ken, blond human scourge aasimar man, war magic wizard, Fighting Initiate Sideshow Bob, quite young human man, necromancy wizard Mudtop, darkhaired human woman, illusion wizard Wide Eyes, creepy-ass human changeling girl, evocation wizard, Stealthy Sir Not Appearing for Long, half-dwarf man, transmutation wizard who goes down before Caleb has a chance to pay much attention to him
As Team Peeping Pervs swoops toward the house, the balcony guard left alone by her temporary Volstrucker counterpart panics and tries to flee through the balcony door, triggering a Glyph of Warding set to release a high-level Blight spell. (The Volstrucker had the luxury of putting some quite high-level spells in the bank, as it were, the day before in the form of glyphs and such.)
Owelia drops invisibility to attempt a Chain Lightning attack on Team Peeping Pervs; Caleb counterspells, placing an early strain on their relationship
A Glyph of Warding keyed to go off in the presence of drow hits Essek with Magic Missile at level 7
The instant Beau calls that the Volstrucker are gunning for Essek, Jester throws up Blade Barrier
Which is short-lived, as Mudtop uses a high-level version of a Dispelling Stone to end a few Scourgers’ invisibility spells* (which were about to drop for attack anyway), but also nulify Jester’s 6th-level spell, strip M9 of their disguises, strip Caleb of his Mirror Images, swat down Caduceus’s Hidden Step** before it could do him a lick of good, and make certain M9 had not brought any other allies with them.
Caduceus is getting stabbed a lot. He doesn’t like it. He twists around and gives Wide Eyes a 5th-level Vampiric Touch, which is a domain spell for him.
Sideshow Bob attempts to panic Caleb using Eyebite—but Caleb has advantage on wisdom saving throws against being magically frightened by anyone other than Trent. He deserves it.
Caleb crits on his Fun-Size Gravity Sinkhole on Sideshow Bob. Sideshow Bob has reasons to be a cocky little shit, but he does not have a hell of a lot of HP.
Caleb turns west, toward the center of the room. Owelia, no longer in his line of sight for counterspell, gets to finish casting Chain Lightning this time. It would knock Caleb unconscious, but Caduceus’s Death Ward kicks in and Jester manages to get a Mass Cure Wounds off; some targets, Caleb and Beau among them, benefit from Caduceus’s Beacon of Hope for max healing.
Caduceus drops Beacon of Hope to go straight to Holy Aura. He should not have been able to do this, because Holy Aura calls for a gold-cost material component, and M9 haven’t been able to go shopping since they first got 8th-level spells in Aeor; but I didn’t notice that until just now, so pretend that when he locked up the temple doors to come with the Mighty Nein all the way back in 2x28, he brought a precious temple reliquary worth 1,000 gp with him for safekeeping. I was a little torn on whether to let Cad have this one, balance-wise, so this is the one place where I rolled dice: unseen by Caleb, who was still scraping himself off the floor at 1HP, Ghostie attempted to Counterspell Caduceus’s 8th-level casting. She fucking failed. Suck it, Ghostie.
M9 and some of the Volstrucker play hackey-sack with Lord Tumblecarve’s hand. (ETA: In the midst of all this, Owelia removes Beau for a round with Temporal Shunt.) Veth’s sharpshooting takes it out of play for a while, allowing everybody to get back to the important business of slaughtering each other.
Caleb notes Essek bleeding from what happens to be Mudtop’s Synaptic Static. Essek attempts Tether Essence on her and Owelia. Glyph Chant gives both targets a hefty bonus on the CON save, but because they’re within 30′ of each other, they have disadvantage on the roll. There’s a brief counterspell battle over that between Caleb and Owelia, which Essek bends in Caleb’s favor by using Chronal Shift to force a reroll on Owelia. These wizards just really are not clicking on a personal level.
Caleb sets aside his plan to bring out Cat’s Ire, because while that really lets him do a lot of extra damage with his bonus actions, it’s concentration, so if he goes unconscious again, that 5th-level slot could wind up wasted or severely under-utilized. He tries out the 8th-level spell that, in this AU, he took at level 15 instead of Mind Blank: Feeblemind. Owelia, whose INT score is as high as his is, makes the save, wasting that 8th-level spell slot. She is not happy.
Before she can deliver a complaint to Caleb in person, Beau intercepts her with the Cloak of Billowing. Purely because I was disappointed that M9 never got to use it. In other circumstances, I would probably restrain myself, but this is my fucking fanfic, so I didn’t.
“Employ human shield” is not an available action in the 5e PHB, but too bad. Bye, Otto.
Wide Eyes gets behind Essek by casting Far Step as a bonus action, and then attempts to teleport away with him in some fashion. Here is where I fudged: pretty much every teleport spell in the books requires a willing passenger. But as Matt often says that NPCs don’t have to obey the same rules as PCs, and being able to do an arcane kidnapping seems like a highly relevant and desirable skill for magical assassins, I figure that Volstrucker may have limited abilities to teleport with an unwilling passenger.
But it doesn’t matter, because although Caleb and Essek have used up their reactions, Fjord has not. He counterspells her.
Caleb manages a glancing/low-damage hit with Fun-Size Gravity Sinkhole (FSGS) on the changeling. It gets her attention enough that she doesn’t disembowel Essek outright on her first attempt to do so.
Before Caleb can try to parse out whether Essek’s reaction to his maneuver was horror or horniness, Owelia hits him with Finger of Death. Because his attention is split between Owelia and Essek, Caleb doesn’t fully appreciate how gnarly the spell coming at him is before it hits; but Jester, as a cleric who uses necromantic attacks more often than anybody else in the party, knows instinctively that it’s bad news. She drops an 8th-level Heal on Caleb, forestalling jokes about her clericking for the rest of ever.
Veth gets in a nasty sneak attack on Owelia someplace the sun don’t shine, but Brenatto’s Voltaic Bolt do.
Essek Misty Steps away from the changeling to hit Mudtop with Momentary Stasis, giving Caleb advantage on his FSGS attack. Owelia goes down with her due to Tether Essence.
Nobody has as many resources left for counterspells, and Caduceus has saved some juice. Ghostie has taken barely any damage up to now, but he hits her with Harm.
Before that, she’d knocked out Beau; Caleb didn’t see that, but saw only the aftermath of Yasha bringing Beau back up with Healing Hands. A handy trick, but the necessity of it cost both Sentinel Babes some action economy.
Numerically, though, there are 8 of the M9 still standing against only 3 Volstrucker. Ghostie looks at the field, casts Immolation on Caduceus, and heads for the fireplace.
Caleb is very close to tapped, but he would burn his last 4th-level slot on Dispel on Caduceus if he had a chance. However, in a 6-second round of combat, a lot of things happen on top of each other and in this case…
…the changeling sees an opportunity to tie up Yasha for a crucial moment, probably dispatch Essek and Caleb, and go all-in on the cleric who’s actually done the most healing in this fight. She can do that by combining an evocation subclass ability with the 5th-level spell Steel Wind Strike.
The description for Steel Wind Strike reads, I shit you not, as follows: You flourish the [melee] weapon used in the casting and then vanish to strike like the wind. Choose up to five creatures you can see within range [30′]. Make a melee spell attack against each target. On a hit, a target takes 6d10 force damage. You can then teleport to an unoccupied space you can see within 5 feet of one of the targets you hit or missed.
This would be nasty on its own, but she combines it with her 14th-level evocation subclass ability to Overchannel: Starting at 14th level, you can increase the power of your simpler spells. When you cast a wizard spell of 5th level or lower that deals damage and isn't a cantrip, you can deal maximum damage with that spell. So she hits Yasha, Caleb, and Essek for 60 force damage each, and then devotes two max damage attacks to Jester, one of which is an auto-crit, to slay her outright. In fact, with the “offensive spell counts as attack action” rule I gave the Volstrucker for their Glyph Chant, she could have taken one more auto-crit melee attack on Jester just to be sure, but I didn’t feel like bogging down the flow with that when the one attack was devastating enough, really, so I just left that out.
14th-level evocation wizards get one use of Overchannel for free; there’s a sharp penalty for it thereafter (2d12 necrotic damage per level of spell cast). This may have been her first use, and she thought it could still win them the fight; or it may have been her second use, and it was a suicide attack to buy Ken and Ghostie time. Caleb doesn’t have enough information to determine.
Veth ends her.
While Fjord is in shock, Ken swipes the very obviously magical Star Razor from him and uses it to reach Tumblecarve’s Ring of Mind Shielding high up on the wall, destroying it. Yasha retaliates by impaling him; he reveals himself as a scourge aasimar by making his last act to unleash Radiant Consumption on himself and her.
Fortunately, Caduceus has Dispelled Immolation on himself (let’s hear it for that 1/day firbolg freebie) and is able to promptly Revivify Jester with M9′s last remaining diamond. Less than delighted with having just been nearly burned to death, he hits Ghostie with a simple Hold Person just as she makes it to the fireplace over the difficult terrain of a lot of dead bodies. She chooses to use her reaction to throw a letter into the flames rather than counter Cad’s spell. Caleb observes that the letter “goes up with an unnatural flash.”
Caleb has only three spell slots left: a 4th, a 6th, and his 7th, which last he needs in order to be able to teleport. Much like Essek did once before in the Dungeon of Penance, he ends the last Scourger before him with a 4th-level spell and a personal specialty, his very own Web of Fire.
He succeeds on his wisdom saving throw against being stunned after killing a humanoid with fire, and combat is over.
In Sum
M9′s advantages: a slight edge in numbers in the final confrontation (8 v 7); Caleb suspects a cumulative edge in level, though he cannot quite be sure; two clerics (plus backup healing with Yasha and Fjord); shared experience
Volstrucker advantages: an edge in numbers overall (nine that Caleb knows of currently); complete knowledge of the terrain, cooperation from Tumblecarve, and the luxury of time to prepare with various glyphs and wards; vastly more Counterspells available, which suppressed some of the clerics’ healing early on; ridonk action economy granted by the Glyph Chant (as I’ve interpreted it)
The upshot: a nasty fucking fight, but M9′s healing, versatility, and—crucially—camaraderie and experience with each other carried the day. Volstrucker are well trained, but they’re not great team players. M9? They know each other’s strengths and limitations intimately, and working seamlessly together is what they do best. The greatest cockroach party of them all: long may they reign.
—————————————————————— *Caleb thinks 5 were cloaked with Invisibility, but he’s wrong: three of them were just hidden, and the changeling (whom he didn’t even know about yet) also needed no magic to get the drop on Caduceus.
**Unnoticed by Caleb because of their relative positions (Caduceus was behind him in the doorway, and everybody was facing forward into the room)

Kim Yugyeom was lucky he was cute.
It wasn’t that he was stupid. Not at all — Yugyeom could be very smart when he wanted to. No, your Gyeommie was just… oblivious.
Oblivious to the fact that his girlfriend, which was to say, you, was a witch.
You’d been dating Yugyeom for almost a year now, and needless to say, things were getting pretty serious.
For most people, the way romance worked, had maybe four steps. One, you meet, two, you fall in love, three, you start dating, and if things are that serious, then… four, you get married.
For witches, specifically the witches that decided to date non-witches (muggles, no-majs, mortals, humans, or whatever you call them), there were always five steps: to tell the person they were dating that, hey, they were a witch. Some opted to wedge the extra step in between three and four, but you had heard of a few that had left it as a fifth step.
Which never really ended well, or so you’d heard. So that was why, as your first anniversary approached, you’d decided to start dropping more hints about your abilities to your boyfriend, who really, really sucked at picking them up.
Your black cat, for one. You’d gotten Jules before you started dating, but you’d realized something the first time Yugyeom had met your cat.
“Why a black cat?” He’d asked, before jokingly adding, “They’re bad luck, you know. And they’re friends with witches.”
There were several things you wanted to answer with. That black cats weren’t bad luck, and, yes, they were friends with witches. Why did he think you had one? But instead, you’d answered with the most stupid words you’d ever heard yourself say.
“In this house, we don’t approve of cat racism.”
And he’d lost it.
Since then, things had gotten more serious. You’d met his parents. He’d met yours (in what was the most nerve wracking night of your life, but that was a story for another time). He’d even asked if you wanted to move in, which was what made you realize just how serious that things were starting to get. A few nights later, before falling asleep, you asked him a question.
“Gyeom?” You murmured, and you felt a soft rumble from his chest as he let out a quiet, “Hmm?”
“Do you believe in magic?”
He craned his head to look at you in the dim light. His eyebrows were furrowed, and his lips were pouting slightly as he contemplated the question. “Why do you ask?” He asked back a few moments later.
You could feel your heart in your throat as you contemplated telling him in that very moment. You opened your mouth to speak, ready to tell him.
“No reason,” You answered instead, “I just… I just think sometimes that whatever force brought us together had to have been, uhh, magical, for you and I to be so perfect for each other.”
As his eyebrows remained furrowed, his lips grew into a small smile.
“You are so cheesy sometimes,” He replied, pressing a kiss to your forehead, “I love you.”
“I love you too, Gyeommie.” You couldn’t help but feel disappointed in yourself, mentally slapping yourself for being such a wimp.
Still, he smiled slightly wider and his grip tightened a little on your waist, calming your nerves. And you fell asleep like that, wishing you could tell the truth about who you really were.
There was also the slight fear of him thinking you were a freak or being angry once you told him. You’d even asked yourself if he’d attack you, as you’d heard it happen before, but immediately discarded the thought.
This was Kim freaking Yugyeom, the boy who’d taken you for a walk in the park during summertime and refused to kill a mosquito that had landed on his arm because, “The little dude’s just living his life. You wouldn’t like it if you were eating a grilled cheese and someone just decided to merk you.”
…Yeah, you were safe.
So you continued dropping hints. Each and every one went completely ignored, as if he were leaving you on read in person. First, you decided to reorganize your tarot cards in front of him when he was visiting your apartment.
“Cool!” He answered, “I didn’t know you played poker. Maybe you can teach me.”
He took another bite of the sandwich he’d made himself, before wiggling his eyebrows. “I’ve always wanted to play strip poker, you know.”
His tone was playful, and you laughed. But at the same time… Does he really not know the difference between tarot cards and playing cards?
“They’re not poker cards, babe,” You explained as he finished his sandwich, “They’re tarot cards.”
He tilted his head, his silver earrings dangling.
“I’ve never heard of that game, how do you play?”
“Gyeom, it’s not a game—”
You were interrupted by the sound of Yugyeom’s phone. He fished it out of his pocket, before mumbling, “Just a sec, jagi.”
He answered the phone. “Bam, what’s up? Dude, calm down. What? Now? I can’t, I have to… Fuck, Bam, fine, I’ll be there in ten minutes. You owe me, big time.”
He hung up, sighing as he carded a hand through his hair. You furrowed your eyebrows. “What’s up with Bambam?” You asked, watching him pick up his jacket from the couch.
“His cat’s going into labor,” He groaned, “He’s freaking out. He wants me to help him.”
Pulling on his denim jacket, he walked towards you to press a kiss to your cheek. “Teach me your game another time, babe. I gotta go, I’m sorry.”
He started toward your apartment door, opening it hastily. “Wait, Yugyeom—”
But he was already gone, leaving you dumbfounded.
And that was only the first attempt.
You tried making some tea because, hey, infusions are witchy. He told you that you didn’t need to diet because you were beautiful just the way you are. Which was sweet, but, also mildly frustrating.
You’d left your book of shadows out where he could see it, on a page full of runes and sigils. He’d told you that you were a great abstract artist. You’d even started watching movies with witches in them while he was around, like Hocus Pocus or Practical Magic, even though you had a strong distaste for how misrepresented you felt.
Finally, for your anniversary, after going out for a nice dinner, you gave him a DVD set of the first season of Game of Thrones, because you knew he’d been wanting to start watching it.
“It has magic in it,” You said in a sing-song tone when he unwrapped it, back at his apartment. He turned his head to look at you, his dark eyes glittering. “I get it now, Y/N,” He answered, and your eyes went wide.
“Y-you do?”
He nodded, smiling at you, and you felt your heart swell. “I looked up what tarot was,” He began, “It’s a form of… divination, right?”
You nodded proudly, grinning. Finally!
“That, and then the tea leaves, the drawings in your journal, then the movies, and this? Babe…”
You were so happy, you could scream.
“…You really didn’t have to go that far with the whole ‘what we have is magical’ bit, jagi, but, damn, this is so sweet. I love you.”
Your smile faded. “What?” You asked, blinking.
“What?” He asked back, his tone different from yours. You sounded confused, he sounded even more confused. “Y-you think this is a play on my words, Yugyeom?”
He blinked, scratching at the back of his neck and looking awkward as hell. “Is that… not what this is?”
You stood up, shaking your head. “I… need some water.”
You walked over to the kitchen, but he followed you as you did. “What?” He asked innocently from behind you, “What did I do?”
Not looking back, even though the whiny tone he took was adorable, you opened his refrigerator to grab a bottle of water. Opening it, you shook your head, “Nothing, Gyeom. Forget about it.”
You took a swig of your water, turning back to face him. He looked frustrated. “No,” he answered, stepping closer to you, “I won’t.”
“Really, Gyeommie, it’s not a big deal…”
“Of course it’s a big deal,” He replied, eyebrows furrowing as he gently took the water bottle from your hands, and set it on the counter in a haste, “I want you to be happy, and that can’t happen if you’re not letting me know what’s bothering you.”
“Yugyeom, I… You’ll think I’m crazy.”
“I’d still love you,” He murmured, pressing his forehead against yours, and you felt your eyes flutter shut, “No matter what you do, Y/N, I’m gonna love you.”
One of his big hands grasped yours, and you smiled as he pecked you on the lips. The other hand went to the counter, sandwiching you between it and him.
“Tell me, baby,” He murmured, as you opened your eyes, looking up at him.
You took a deep breath, bracing yourself to tell him, and you felt his free hand, the one against the counter, move. You opened your mouth, but nothing came out.
He smiled warmly, still moving his free hand to be more comfortable. “Come on, Y/N, I’m sure it’s not that bad— waitnoholycrap!”
As he’d been moving his hand along the counter, he’d accidentally managed to tip over your water bottle, which was still uncapped. Both his head and yours moved to watch it fall over, things seeming to move in slow motion.
Your eyes widened as Yugyeom broke away from you and moved to grab it, and you held out a hand instinctively, closing your eyes as you braced yourself to get splashed by cold water.
You opened one eye when it never came.
You were met with Yugyeom looking at you, eyes wide as the moon. He looked pale as hell, mouth agape. You opened both eyes, and stared at him for a moment, before realizing what had freaked him out so much, as you turned to look down at the bottle of water, which was, surprise, surprise, levitating. No water had spilled from it, thankfully.
“What the— H-how—”
You flicked your wrist upwards, watching as the bottle of water floated upwards, before settling itself back on the counter. You glanced back at your boyfriend, whose eyes had somehow managed to get even bigger. “D-did you… How did you even…?”
“Gyeom,” You mumbled, staring up at him, “Do you believe in magic?”
He blinked, pointing at the bottle, and then you, and then back at the bottle. “You— But— Wait, that’s what this was all about?”
You nodded sympathetically. “I’m sorry, I wanted to tell you sooner, but I…”
Your words were lost on Yugyeom, who was already in his own world. “You just… and you… water bottle…”
His words faded off to somewhere, and a few seconds later, he did too. His eyes rolled up into his head, and he started falling forward, and you caught him before he could hit his head on anything. You never imagined this would happen.
“Yugyeom?” You asked, tone worried but also slightly amused. “B-Babe?”
A half hour and one more levitation spell later, Yugyeom came to in his bed, with you sitting next to him as you applied a cold cloth to his forehead. His eyes cracked open, and he rasped out, “Y/N?”
“Hey,” You murmured, “How are you doing?”
“D-did you really—"
“Make the water bottle float? Yeah. Yeah, I did. This entire time, Gyeommie, I’ve been wanting to tell you the truth. A-and now you know, I’m a witch.”
Yugyeom took a deep breath, eyes looking up at his ceiling. “Goddamn,” He mumbled, “I high key thought I was going crazy for a moment.”
You chuckled, shaking your head lightly. “You’re not, Gyeom. I swear.”
He didn’t respond, and your heart went into overdrive. And when your heart went into overdrive, you tended to word vomit. “I mean, I understand if you wouldn’t want to date me because of it, I know it’s weird and if you want to break up I’m not gonna stop you even though I love you andyou’rereallyspecialtomeactuallywaitnopleasedon’tbreakupwithmeGyeom—!”
“Woah, woah. Calm down, Y/N…” He grabbed your hand, and squeezed. You instinctively squeezed back. “Why would I break up with you over the fact that you’re, like, Hermione Granger?”
You laughed, shaking your head. “I don’t know… I’ve heard about it happening before…”
He shook his head, removing the cloth from his forehead and slowly sitting up. “Nothing could keep me away from you, jagiya. Not even magic, which, now, at least, I do believe in. Does that answer your question?”
He leaned in to kiss you again, and you felt how the both of you were smiling.
When you broke away, his nose and forehead were resting against yours, and you opened your eyes to be met with his.
“Does this mean that we can go on a date on your flying broomstick? You know, Kiki’s Delivery Service style?”
“Gyeom, those don’t exist.”
“Wait, what? You mean my entire life has been a lie?”
Yeah. This was gonna be good.

Why the Persona 3 FES vs Portable Debate Makes Me Want to Fly Into the Sun Pt. 1
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Yes, this is an emotionally fueled rant about Persona 3. No, this is not meant to send hate at those who enjoy Persona 3 FES or dislike Persona 3 Portable.
That being said, this discussion mentally pains me. I won’t go into all of my opinions on the matter here (I’ll probably go into it later with more posts), but I will be talking about one of the most prevalent “points” that I see being brought up every time the comparison between FES and Portable is made:
“Just play FES with the controllable party members mod.”
This point, although it doesn’t say so directly, essentially sends the message to anyone who doesn’t know the differences between the two games that the only thing Portable has to offer (besides the obvious changes to the game) is controllable party members. For the sake of this post, I won’t be going into the obvious changes such as having cutscenes and The Answer in FES compared to no cutscenes and a FeMC route in Portable. Instead, I’m going to rant about every other positive change I can remember that no one seems to talk about.
1. Jealousy Mechanic
Unlike in FES, the jealousy mechanic is completely erased in the Male Route. The dialogue/warning will still show up after hanging out with multiple female social links, but the social link will never reverse or break because of this. Social links are already a pain to try and max out in a run, even on NG+ without a guide, so the fact that you don’t have to stop seeing a social link for awhile or focus on just one girl at a time means this will at least be marginally easier in Portable. For those who don’t care about maxing out all of the social links, it’s still a relief because you can hang out with whatever social link you want without any penalty. This doesn’t apply to the Female Route as there isn’t a jealousy mechanic even implemented into that.
2. Fatigue Mechanic
For the pure amount of people I see complain about Tartarus, and don’t get me wrong I’m one of them too, I cannot comprehend how they fail to mention this change. In Portable, the fatigue mechanic is totally gone. Much like the jealousy mechanic, the text is still there where the navigator will say you’re getting tired, but no one actually gets the tired effect until you leave Tartarus completely. This means you can bust out a whole block in one sitting, if you so choose. I found this extremely useful because I hated being in Tartarus and this allowed me to just get it all done quickly instead of having to go back and forth from the Dark Hour multiple times.
3. Various Battle Mechanics
In addition to adding the “direct” command to the tactics menu (allowing controllable party members), Portable also adds the “defend” option. This is akin to the “guard” option in the other games where you use your turn to gain more defense. The combat system has also been improved to function more like P4′s in the way that you can get a 1-more from knocking just one enemy down, it no longer takes a full turn for a party member to get up after being knocked down (so you can stand up and immediately do your turn), party members can follow up with a co-op attack if you knock an enemy down, and after a certain social link event for the team social link party members can take a fatal blow for the MC. Again, I don’t know how people are not talking about any of these changes besides the “direct command” addition while also complaining about how Tartarus is a slog. You know what makes it less like a slog? All of these additions.
4. Equipment Menu
Many of the changes not talked about are tweaks to Tartarus/battle gameplay, and this is another one of them. Although more of a small quality of life change to save some hassle, I personally appreciate any change that makes Tartarus easier to get through. In FES, if you wanted to change your party member’s equipment, you would have to talk to the party member who you wanted to change the equipment for. That means if you wanted to change your whole party you would have to do your own first and then talk to your three other party members individually. Portable changes this so that there is one overarching equipment menu that you can access (like in the future games) and change their equipment there.
5. Fusion skills being items + Personas giving you skill cards
This is probably one of the smaller changes, but it can still be really useful. First off, fusion skills in FES are activated when you have two specific personas needed for the skill, but in Portable fusion skills can be bought as items from a store. They cost “gems” that are collected in Tartarus and I think some can be acquired as rewards for quests. This can be useful if you want to use a fusion skill without needing to have the two specific personas taking up slots. Additionally, every persona now gives the player a skill card once they reach a certain level with them. Skill cards can also be bought for gems in the same store that fusion skill items can be bought from. With how fusion works in P3, in which skills are unable to be specifically selected to pass onto the persona being fused, having skills cards is a pretty good change.
6. More Tartarus events/anomalies
Sometimes when going into Tartarus, “anomalies” can occur. This ranges from entering a floor and having your whole party be separated or entering a floor and having no shadows present. Portable adds four new anomalies, and although they may not add much sometimes they can be pretty helpful. The four new events are experience gain will increase on the floor, enemy items drops will increase, the floor will become dark and the auto-mapping feature in game is temporarily disabled, and upon entering the floor it can be fully mapped by the navigator. I specifically found the increased experience gain to be useful because that really boosted the experience cards and could easily level you up without having to grind for hours.
7. Two more added difficulties + Vision Quest
With the new changes to combat, some people dislike how easy the game can seem. To counteract this, or for people who really just want to play the game for the story, two new difficulties were added to Portable: Beginner and Maniac. Beginner is below Easy and significantly toned down enemy damage, and the player has 30 plumes of dusk (opposed to 10 when starting on Easy). Maniac is above Hard, and it adds a heap of new things to make the game more difficult such as enemies deal 2 times more damage than normal, can gain a higher chance of Enemy Advantage when not taken by surprise, and certain weapon fusions cannot be performed. If this still isn’t hard enough for you...I’m sorry, or something? I personally played on Easy because I was working my way through the Neo-Persona (3-5) games and didn’t want it to take ten years.
If you still want more of a challenge, or a fun time-killer, Portable also added Vision Quest. Like the Monad Depths, it’s accessible through Tartarus. Upon entering there are is a door corresponding to each Full Moon boss (besides the Magician) and five special doors. Each Full Moon boss door can be fought with any party members, but the bosses are much stronger than when they were originally fought. For example, the Hanged Moon boss (last one fought) is level 54 in the base game. In the Vision Quest, the Hanged Moon boss is level 95. I did complete all of the doors in Vision Quest (on my NG+) and this one took me almost as long as the final boss of the game to beat, because of the level and the fact that is has 18,000 hp. Yes, I was around level 95 at the time too because I wanted to fuse Messiah. For reference, the final boss has around 25,500 hp in total and is level 76. The five special doors are more so puzzles rather than standard fights in my opinion because you’re forced into the fight with specific party members and stats. Each special door also has its own strategy to beat it, which is where the puzzle part comes in. An example of what these doors offer ranges from having three strong enemies you can only hit with physical attacks that consistently switch between nulling, being weak to, and absorbing all three kinds of physical attacks (and the three enemies switch at different rates/patterns) to fighting an enemy one on one that you need to kill in a certain amount of turns before they insta-kill you (and there is also a pattern of what these enemies are weak to/null/etc.) If you even try looking up what the Vision Quests are you’ll likely to see a plethora of guides because these fights can be very frustrating if you can’t get the patterns down on your own. However, that’s still good for a challenge. In addition to all of this, if you beat all of the doors you get the option to fight a second secret boss: Margaret (from Persona 4).
8. More part-time jobs
One of the more minor changes, but in Portable there are more places where you can work at for part-time jobs. I don’t know if it follows the same system as FES, but generally the longer you work at a job the more money they will give to you. This can be helpful in the early game if you want to raise a stat by working and gain money at the same time.
9. Soundtrack
This one is tied in directly with the FeMC Route, but a whole new soundtrack is available in this game. You are able to hear almost the full Persona 3 FES soundtrack in this game with the Male Route too, so if you play both routes you won’t miss out on a majority of the songs. Personally, I like a lot of the songs from both soundtracks (and the P3 soundtrack is one of my favorites, if not maybe my number one favorite, of the 3-5 series). I believe it is also widely regarded as a solid soundtrack, and some even like it more than the Male Route one. You could just listen to the soundtrack without playing the game, but again this list is just going through changes from FES to Portable that people don’t often mention.
10. Extra scene at the end of a NG+ run (Spoilers for those who do not know the end of the game)
For everyone out there who likes the dating sim portion of Persona and a heaping of heart-breaking angst, this is for you. On a NG+ run of either route, in the final scene before the credits roll you are able to spend your last moments with whoever you romanced. They each have their own personalized little scene, that is beyond adorable and sad, and the game ends with one last loving comment/sentiment from them before you fade away and Memories of You starts playing. In my opinion, it’s a great little addition, especially for those who like to play multiple runs.
And that’s the last of it I suppose, although there are some other minor changes I probably missed because they’re too small or probably can’t be considered either a “good” or “bad” change. Anyway, asking others for their opinion on the two games is obviously fine, but if you’re someone who boils down the situation with providing the input “Just play FES with the controllable party members mod.” ....don’t. Please :)

Although most every character will be written about, this is mostly for the pro snape fandom. Please do not fear, although this is a severus x oc story, it is an incredibly slow burn as I do not intend for them to get together at all until after the final book events. Chapters will be posted twice a week.
This derivative work follows the events of the Harry Potter books by Jk Rowling and is intended as a fun way to practice my writing. Thank you for reading :D
Apologizing in advance for any extra spelling or grammar errors than normal! I didn’t have as much time with this chapter as usual because I am in the process of moving and its very hectic right now XD Thanks for reading tho! :D

“What happened? You feinted and scared us all to death is what happened!” Ron shook his head and sat back down.
“Are you alright?” Hermione helped Harry back up to his seat.
Heather sat back and watched him piece together what had just gone down.
“Did you hear that woman screaming?” He looked around as if there was an extra person hidden somewhere on the compartment.
“You heard screaming? None of us heard it,” Heather looked at Ron and Hermione worried. They were all thinking the same thing. “Was it another snake? Was it that thing?”
Harry shook his head, “No. No it was a woman.”
There was a snap and a surprised squeal from Neville. Everyone turned towards Professor Lupin who was offering up pieces of stale chocolate.
“Here, everyone. Take some,” Professor Lupin handed out all the chunks of a chocolate bar and sat back down.
“What was that thing?” Neville pointed a shaking chocolate smudged finger at the door.
“A dementor. Or as I’m sure you’re more familiar with… an ‘Azkaban Guard’.”
They all stared at him hoping he’d go on, but he simply put away the leftover chocolate and stood, making his way out the compartment door.
“I’ll go speak with the driver. Everything’s fine now.”
Heather stuck her hand on Harry’s forehead, “You’re really ok? Do you want my piece?”
Harry shook her hand off him and looked around at everyone once more, “No one heard the scream? What happened then?”
“It was horrible!” Neville scooted as far back from the door as possible. “It stuck it’s head in and… and…”
“Everything went cold and I remembered when that spider seized me up around my waist… It was weird,” Ron shivered. “I’d forgotten what happiness felt like.”
Hermione nodded and put her arm over Ginny who was still sobbing into her sweater sleeves.
Harry looked at Heather, “Did you fall off your seat too?”
“No, but I remembered some stuff I thought I’d forgotten.” She looked down at her hands and rolled them into fists, squeezing tight and let go. “It looked at you and you were closest… so I’m sure that’s it. That must be why it affected you so bad.”
The compartment door opened and they all jumped. Professor Lupin was back with a smile.
“We’ll be at Hogwarts in ten minutes. Better get your robes on.”
The train stopped at Hogsmeade station and every student hurried to get off, excited for a new year. Nothing seemed too different, not at first glance. There was the usual horde of older years, the bossy voices of Prefects and Head students cutting through eager chatter, and Hagrid who still stood as tall as the carriages trying to herd all the first years to the boats. What was different this year, was the cold and rainy atmosphere instead of the usual somewhat warm and sunny one.
Hagrid noticed them as they walked towards the carriages and waved. They waved back and spotted an empty carriage and made their way inside. Heather pressed herself to the window and watched as the castle grew and grew as they got closer. Her excitement was seeping from her body and all she wanted to do was jump out and run the rest of the way there. The carriage stopped and she jumped out, pulling Harry off faster. They helped push the crowd to move faster, wanting to get to the feast as soon as possible.
“Heard you feinted, Potter!” Draco’s voice hushed the crowd of students pushing up the stairs.
Everyone stopped and looked down, up, and to the side for Harry and Heather. She was about to respond with ‘I didn’t feint’ but thought better of it. She didn’t want to throw Harry under the bus, at least not when he couldn’t help his reaction to the horrible creature.
“Weasley, did you feint too? I can imagine it now, a pile of rags crumpled to the floor under a scawy dementor!” Draco hopped up the steps to level with Harry. “Which one of you looked more stupid?”
Heather frowned and put her hand up to stop Ron, “No one feinted, Malfoy.”
Draco turned on his heels and pointed at Neville, “Calling Longbottom a liar then?”
Neville made himself as small as possible behind two Gryffindor boys, “Sorry, Harry! I was telling Dean…”
“Why don’t you shove off!” Ron pushed passed Heather and Hermione.
“Or what.”
He looked at Harry, who nodded. “Or we’ll make you.”
“That won’t be necessary, will it?” Professor Lupin came up the steps behind them and put his hands on Ron and Harry’s shoulders. He stared down at Draco with a grin.
Draco looked him up and down, taking in the little tears and undone seams at the edges of Professor Lupin’s teaching robes and chuckled. “Of course not, Professor.” He turned around and headed up the steps followed by Crabbe and Goyle.
“Everyone keep heading up, now,” Professor Lupin smiled down at the four of them and led everyone into the castle.
They made their way into the Great Hall and split up, taking their seats in their respective houses. Heather sat across from Pansy and rolled her eyes at her annoying smirk. Draco crossed his arms and stared at the podium looking bored out of his mind. There were decorations everywhere with hundreds of candles hovering above them and their house banners swaying gently over their heads. The golden plates and cups were spotless and everyone wore sparkling smiles.
After everyone was settled, Professor McGonagall marched dozens of scared looking first years up towards the stage to begin the sorting ceremony. She unrolled her parchment and picked up the sorting hat, calling the first years up one by one. Each house applauded for their new members, even Draco added to the cheers for new Slytherins.
“Can’t we hurry this up? Why can’t they arrive early or something for this,” Draco dropped his head on his arms over the table.
“I agree. They should take a different train. Or get sorted over the summer!”
Heather rolled her eyes at Pansy’s annoying neediness. Draco didn’t even reply to her and she was smiling like he’d just given her a compliment.
“Are there ever any students here during the summer?” Heather didn’t think they’d know, being pruebloods and having no need or interest in staying in school, but it was worth an ask.
“Oh, poor Heather. Can’t stand those muggles anymore? Why don’t you just stay with your other family? Or.. oh, woops. Sorry,” Pansy pushed her lower lip out in a pout.
“You’re forgiven, Pansy. I know remembering things can sometimes be hard for you,” Heather quickly turned up towards the High Table for fear Pansy’s gaping mouth would make her burst out into a laughing fit.
“Merlin. It’s finally over,” Draco sat back up. “Now this old toad has to make a speech.”
Professor Dumbledore stood up at the podium and smiled at every house, lingered on Gryffindors, and more specifically Harry. He smiled at everyone and started his usual beginning of term speech. “Welcome everyone!” He paused for the applause to end. “It is a new year at Hogwarts, and so I have some new things to say. The most serious of them being, the dementors of Azkaban.”
Heather looked over at Harry, who eyed her back.
“They have been placed here by the Ministry of Magic… to guard the school.” Professor Dumbledore sounded annoyed and tapped his fingers on the podium. “Because of their presence, I will be asking everyone not to leave the school without permission. There is no fooling dementors. Not with disguises or even any invisibility cloak.”
Heather stared at Harry until he looked away at Ron, who was also being stared at by Hermione. Heather’s heart started beating faster and her palms got sweaty. If the dementors were so dangerous, why was the ministry placing them at school? What if Harry DID try to leave school with an invisibility cloak? She looked over at Draco and then at Marcus far down the table. They were laughing at almost all of the warning. Maybe she should have stayed to get the permission slips signed somehow. So that Harry wouldn’t even be tempted to try anything. She tuned back into Professor Dumbledore’s speech.
“They only know how to be predators and how to identify prey. So please, do not give them any reason to want to hurt or harm any of you. Prefects and Head Boys and Girls, I am putting my faith in you to enforce these rules. For the safety of others.” He looked around at all the prefects and Head students.
Heather heard quiet snorts and scoffs from the Slytherin table and saw a few students with badges rolling their eyes.
Draco chuckled and leaned towards her, “Wouldn’t want anyone feinting, oh no. How embarrassing it would be.”
“Please welcome Professor Lupin, our new Defense against the Dark Arts teacher” Professor Dumbledore motioned for him. “And Professor Hagrid, our new Care of Magical Creatures teacher.”
Heather clapped under the table where no one could see. Only a few other students clapped, mostly those who knew Hagrid and then those in the same compartment as Professor Lupin on the train. Again, Heather felt she had to hide her enthusiasm, hardly anyone from her table even looked amused in the slightest. All of the Gryffindor table was clapping though, and the hall was so loud she was sure the other tables must be clapping as well.
Heather looked up at Professor Lupin and Hagrid standing awkwardly and nodding at the applause. Professor Lupin didn’t look like the normal teachers. His robes looked second hand, with tatters and patches just barely noticeable. Either he didn’t care how he looked – except the way he looked awkwardly around and fidgeted with where to place his hands told her otherwise – or he couldn’t afford to purchase new teaching robes. He sat back down quickly and shook Professor McGonagall’s hand to his right, turned to his left where Professor Snape sat looking away, and quickly turned back to Professor McGonagall again.
“See that? Professor Snape won’t even look at him. I bet he’s just as worthless as the last one,” Draco turned to the food that had just appeared before them.
Pansy nodded, “Maybe it’s because he applied again for the position and was refused it!”
Heather pulled a chicken leg off the large plate and plopped some steamed vegetables on her own. “Maybe it’s harder to find a good potions teacher?”
“So typical of Dumbledore to value POTIONS over DARK ARTS,” Draco ripped some meat off the chicken bone.
Pansy ran her tongue over her teeth behind closed lips and nodded, cutting her bone out with a fork and knife. “I was just about to say that.”
Heather laughed, “No you weren’t.”
Pansy’s head shot up, “Of course I was, Potter! You think just because you’re a stupid Potter you’re a genius or something?”
Crabe banged his goblet down, “They physically can’t be. Duh.”
Goyle nodded and Draco and Pansy snickered to themselves. Heather stared down at her food, stabbing it calmly, trying to pretend she didn’t know what he meant. Does Draco think she can’t beat him at potions because she’s not a pureblood like him? She’s only ever heard him make fun of muggleborns… but there was absolutely no reason he wouldn’t think less of her too. She imagined his face on the tiny carrot pieces she was stabbing and breathed out. She needed him for Quidditch. If anyone could help convince Marcus again it’d be him – at least until her muscles set in. A darker part of her mind wanted to try out for Seeker, just to see Draco crying with fury, but she could feel how horrible of an idea that was all throughout her current bruise-less body.
The rest of the feast Heather kept her eyes down and ate, even during dessert. She soon heard people getting up to leave and waited in her seat until most of the Slytherins had gone. As soon as the Quidditch team, the older students, and Draco, his goons, and Pansy had left she got up and sat in front of Harry and Ron and between Neville and Hermione.
“I hope you heard that one specific part,” Heather eyed Harry menacingly.
“What part? I was too busy thinking about getting expelled,” Harry laughed and avoided a well-deserved slap on the wrist from both Heather and Hermione.
“Oh look! Most everyone’s gone!” Ron got up and led them to the High Table.
“Hagrid congratulations!” Hermione jumped up and down.
Hagrid looked down shyly, “Now now, I’m sure yeh won’t be saying that after I start teachin’.”
Professor Sprout tisked at him, “You’ll do fine Hagrid! Don’t you worry! It’s just the new teacher jeebees. Believe me.”
“You’ll do great,” Harry gave him a thumbs up.
“I always… I always…” Hagrid blew his nose with a napkin and dabbed at the small tears forming in his large eyes. “Always wanted tuh teach.”
Professor McGonagall cleared her throat next to them, “Mr. Potter, Mrs. Granger. If you would please follow me back to my office.” She got up from her chair and started walking around the table.
“What did you do now!” Heather pinched Harry.
“Ow! I haven’t done anything!”
“Well I certainly haven’t.” Hermione waited for Professor McGonagall to walk around the table.
“On your way, please.” Professor McGonagall started walking towards the large wood doors.
Ron and Heather watched them leave with arms crossed.
“Why them?”
“They’re not in trouble… I don’t think Hermione would ever be stupid enough to get caught doing anything,” Ron tapped his chin thoughtfully.
Professor Sprout cleared her throat, having heard the part about Hermione not getting caught. “I’m sure she wouldn’t do anything worth getting in trouble over. Regardless if she got caught or not…”
Hagrid laughed, almost spitting out his wine.
“Do the ‘creatures’ count as animals?” Heather thought she should change the subject with anything. She didn’t get why she always heard the word ‘beast’ and ‘creature’ when it came to large snakes and color-changing foxes and toads and other animals like that.
“Merlin, you’re as bad as Hermione.” Ron took her arm and led her away from the table.
She pulled her arm back and punched his arm, running away before he could exclaim anything. She ran towards Professor McGonagall’s office, Ron following close behind, and spotted Harry walking out.
“What was that about?”
He shook his head, his cheeks were going red. “Nothing.”
Ron huffed next to Heather, punched her arm back, and stood straight. “What d’you mean ‘nothing’?”
Hermione came out, smiling. “And you’re sure you’re ok? Madam Pomfrey said it was perfectly normal to still feel some effects after – ”
“I’m fine!”
Heather couldn’t help laughing with Ron. It was both impressive and disgusting how quick news spread around the school to the point even teachers had heard about the dementor mishap. She felt guilty about being glad it hadn’t been her that feinted. Maybe the fear of feinting again would do a good enough job at keeping Harry put in school.
“We should go before the Prefects enter the common rooms.” Hermione started up the stairs.
“I should go too.” Heather waved goodbye and headed down.
She was on the last few stairs when she saw the tall Slytherin Prefect girl waiting by the corner of the Slytherin passageway and locked eyes with her. She gave a smile and walked deeper in. Heather’s anxiety rose like a busted fire hydrant and ran to the common room door just in time to watch her close the door with a single nasally ‘HA’.
Heather groaned and banged on the door several times. She figured she’d still receive some hate for Slytherin losing the house cup for the first time in almost a decade because of Harry. Why couldn’t they understand she was just as devastated about it as them! She banged harder and gasped when her fist didn’t meet the door like always. Pansy stood at the entrance and looked her up and down.
“Heather! Don’t you know you’re supposed to be here in time for the password?” She shrugged and stepped aside, “You’ll have to ask Professor Snape for it tomorrow.”
Heather stepped through with her arms crossed. She smiled, “Oh, no need.” She spotted Draco quickly and ran over, slowing down just in time to appear calm and collected by his side. She looked over her shoulder at Pansy who slammed the door and stared her down. She turned to Draco and dropped the act. “What’s the password? I wasn’t here for it.”
He scratched his head, “Poison Pines.”
“Thanks.” Heather headed into the girls’ dormitories and into the room with her, Pansy’s, and the two other girls from last year and the year before’s names on the door written with some type of permanent chalk.
She smiled at Toad sleeping peacefully in his cage, curled under his little overgrown moss. She ran to her trunk and took out her new potions guide, new herbology guide, and the sketchbook from last year and stuffed them under her pillow before anyone else walked in the room. She jumped on the bed, pulled the emerald curtains shut, and took out her sketchbook. She opened it up to the last page where she had written down her goals.
She circled the words ‘Dark Arts’ and triple underlined them like she had potions and herbology. “Hopefully this year Defense isn’t a total waste of time… and I guess it wouldn’t matter if Hermione is better at the other subjects.” She didn’t like hearing those words coming out of her own mouth. She wanted to be the best at everything, but this stuff was good enough… hopefully. She’d be able to rub it in Draco’s face and she could at least handle being tied for smartest with Hermione.
She went to change into her pjs in the bathroom and came back to see Pansy sitting up on her bed with her hands folded. Heather crawled into her own bed and waited for her to speak, knowing it had something to do with her.
“You know, I think maybe I’ll ask Draco to include me in his potion’s lessons with Professor Snape.”
Heather’s annoyed smirk dropped. Pansy smiled and laid down, pulling the sheets up and snuggled in. Heather gripped her sheets and threw them over her, crossing her arms over her chest and rolled away from Pansy. She couldn’t tell if Pansy was just saying that to annoy her and regardless if Pansy just confirmed the potions lessons were real, it bothered Heather to a new extreme. She could handle Draco boasting about being top of the class… but if Pansy did it too…
Heather shook her head refusing to think on it more. She was about to close her eyes when she remembered her workouts. She carefully slipped out of bed onto the floor and quietly did the barrel pushes and a few forward pulls before sliding back into bed and forcing herself to sleep, thinking only of what the next day would bring.

Despairing about Despair
If you look up fanart for Neil Gaiman's Sandman comic, you're going to see something weird, but consistent. In fact, it's weird *because* it's so consistent. Even when the art is done by clearly pro-level artists, the depiction of Despair-- a fat woman-- is almost always amazingly bad. Like, we're talking she barely looks female, and often enough barely looks like a human (even though, of course, technically she's not). Or, alternatively, she barely looks comfortably plump. We're talking either man-shoulders and a rugged jaw (to go with the man-belly, I guess?), or looking like an average middle-aged soccer mom. That's if she looks human, particularly in extra cartoony styles where every other character is super idealized. Despair is just like a weird vaguely person-shaped blob in those styles. I almost feel bad for them, 'cause I suppose it's hard to imagine ugly fat women could be cute. And yet, you know, fat babies are cute, so.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, why am I posting about this, you might ask. Well, I remember being at a con one time, where another Harry Potter fan suggested I draw her some overweight women. I realized my plentiful female doodles were all too similar and their bodies were definitely idealized, but I wasn't super motivated to draw people who looked more like me. I say that, even though it actually meant a lot to me to read about a character like Despair when I was a teenager. I may have liked literally every other member of the Endless more and found them cooler and more interesting, but I identified with Despair. I liked seeing her unapologetically fat body, defying the audience-- and the world-- to look at it. She wasn't pretty but she felt real to me. She was too depressed to be too self-conscious about being naked in public, and dammit, I liked that. I loved how real Despair was.
So the main thing that offends and bothers me is that to all these people-- let's say 8 out of ten artists-- Despair isn't real at all. We're mainly talking about pro artists who can clearly render human bodies well, but I've also noticed that beginner fanartists whose poses and perspective all need work also have the most trouble portraying a grossly fat, naked woman believably. No matter what, Despair always looks the worst. It's really like they're not trying, and sometimes she's in fact left out of Endless fanart entirely.
It's not like it's a shocker that people have issues with fat or that it's often ignored of idealized away even in photos these days. I know how it is. It's just surprising to see this obvious of a skill gap. As an artist, I like to think I want to portray everything I attempt with skill. I certainly wouldn't want to just leave an obvious blooper on a finished, otherwise well-rendered work. Not purposely, at least. Not after attaining a level of some excellence in overall performance. And yet, these bloopers are common. People just really don't want to try to 'draw what you see' if what you see is a naked, grossly fat woman.
Obviously, I mean, truly pro comics artists, such as the one(s) who actually worked on The Sandman, can and do draw Despair realistically. So this is specific to stuff they may *choose* or want to do, as opposed to stuff they're paid for. And the fact is, they simply don't want to spend any real effort on fat women. I fact, many artists (and possibly people in general) seem to have some sort of mental blind spot when it comes to fat women. To draw Despair so masculine in more than one case, it's hard not to conclude these artists are men who implicitly categorize fat women as 'not really female'. This is not even subtle sometimes. In at least one case, everyone else looked great but Despair looked a lot like a smaller version of Thing, from the Fantastic Four. You know, the mutant stone guy with the huge shoulders. Then there's the drawing where Despair's skin is literally gray, and instead of curves and roundness, it looks simply like it's a creature with no obvious anatomy whatsoever, aside from being vaguely humanoid (again, this weird look only applied to Despair, not the others). I'm trying not to project, but this seems really obvious to me from what I've seen. A part of me thinks it's better when Despair looks well rendered, just not really fat. But that's just a different kind of issue.
I'm sort of insulted, but mostly just bewildered, even though I'm not surprised. It's not like I myself generally choose to draw fat women. It's just I'd make an effort if that was what I was going for. I certainly wouldn't pretend Despair didn't really matter if everyone else looked great. Although I will say all this has certainly made me think I should probably practice drawing fat ladies after all. I guess my HP fandom friend was onto something.

Repton
The inside of the dome is a hothouse; your optics fog the moment you cut inside. The ground shifts and gives slightly under your feet. Nothing is paved here, except with what you’re guessing is piles of chipped rubber strewn across a concrete foundation. The whole place feels like you’ve wandered into a nightmare version of a playground; a hopeless tangle of brightly-painted metal and plastic, some entirely abstract and some molded in crude imitation of jungle foliage, weaves around and above you. Featureless black domes break up the terrain, some the size of houses. And then there’s the noise, the inescapable wall of sound this place throws at you. Synthetic insect chirring, the hiss and hum of climate regulators, a distant rumble of turbines and churning coolant somewhere far below, and a repetitive, ear-splitting whoop. Which, you’re realizing, is almost certainly an alarm. Your hosts are well camouflaged against the terrain; bright, many-colored scales gleam under the half-light that catches in the heady atmosphere like insects in amber. They dangle from bars and false branches, then drop to the ground and pace tight circles around you, watching the graphics flit across the inner surface of the dusky orange domes fused over their eyes. Some break formation to get a closer look, then flee back into the labyrinthine reaches above. “Are they supposed to be cute?” says Dak. Weapon racks pop loose from hidden chambers in the floor and out of “trees,” clattering into place. The Reptons rush them, squabbling for the prime pickings before some unseen force goads them to break away and take the next gun down. “You tell me,” you say.
HD 1 MV 180’ climb AC 14 AT bite (d4+1) or by weapon Special network
Network—all Reptons are networked to each other and their devices. Unless their comms are jammed, a Repton soldier always has a precise understanding of their distance relative to their squadmates and all Repton-aligned tech, and can communicate with both. Furthermore, all Reptons have access to their network’s algorithmic assistance. If the Reptons in question are in combat with a target that has fought networked Reptons before, they gain +1 to attack and initiative rolls for every one of these prior encounters (up to 6).
1d6 Repton Weapons
1.     Lance caster. 3d3 kinetic, 90’ range, six-shot clip. Semi-automatic magnetic bolt-thrower. Individual bolts are about as long as a human forearm, brightly colored to stand out for easy recovery and reload. Reptons struggle with tracking ammunition in high-tension situations, and also with aiming; lance casters tend to be assigned to top-percentile fighters.
2.     Buddy gun. 1d4+3 heat, 240’ range, battery exhausts and needs to be re-cranked for 1d3 rounds on a max-damage roll. Onboard AI provides procedurally generated moral support. Weapon of choice for the average Repton grunt.
3.     Bughucker. Xd10 explosive, 400’ range, can house and fire up to three shells at once, dealing damage equal to shells fired. Launches a suicide drone resembling an overfed beetle that chases its target using impenetrable precognitive algorithms. The damage from a successful attack roll with a Bughucker “arrives” 2d3 rounds after the round is actually fired. It takes 1 round to arm and load a shell. The definition of a fire-and-forget weapon.
4.     Mega-cuffs. 2d6 kinetic, melee weapon. Allows an extra 60’ rocket-assisted charge in a straight line as part of an attack. Fuel explodes for 3d6 damage in a 15’ radius on a critical miss (Dex check for half for everyone but the Repton wearing it).
5.     Rad-hoser. 30’ cone, 2d4 Rads (Dex check for half). Sprays goopy, luminescent reactor discharge. Widely used to clear ground for development.
6.     Slough cannon. 60’ cone, 1d8+1 damage from abrasion and hemorrhaging (Con check for half). Damage die implodes each round: roll damage at the top of the round and apply if the damage is less than the damage dealt last round; otherwise the effect ends. Deals no damage to targets in airtight armor. Weapon reaches dangerous operating temperatures; on firing the wielder takes 1d3 heat damage. Fires an expanding cloud of nanoassemblers designed to revert living tissue to uncommitted stem cells and package it for future use.
1d8 Repton Devices
1.     Black cylinder the size of a coffee maker held aloft on a dirty yellow repulsor field. Synthesized voice squawks instructions in decidedly un-reptilian but still unrecognizable language in time with strobes of decorative light piping. Neural-network assisted targeting means that each consecutive missed shot grants a +1 to the next attack made by any Repton. AC 8, hp 12, MV 90’ hover
2.     Modular railgun. Takes three dedicated team members and a full round to assemble, aim & fire, hucks anything that fits in the barrel and can hold a charge for 10d10 kinetic damage in a 600’ straight line (Dex check to dodge). All pieces emblazoned with thorough visual aids that walk the user through the assembly process.
3.     Egg-shaped plastic housing the size of a football with a set of neural interface leads coiled around a magnetic support stand. When wired up, user enters a hypnagogic state for six hours, after which leads detach and user wakes with no memory of their state of unconsciousness. For the subsequent 48 hours, user has instantaneous and entirely subconscious grasp of Repton engineering, will service Repton devices without noticing if their hands are not kept otherwise occupied. Reptons will ignore anyone who sticks close to one of these things, and actively assist a user. Continuous use risks permanent nerve damage.
4.     Short brass rod ending in t-shaped prong. So long as it remains aimed at a single biological target, the target’s sensory faculties are greatly reduced (disadvantage to all tests of perception), and pain, fatigue, and sickness register only as a faint, pleasurable itch (so long as effect is sustained, player has no knowledge of their hit point total and is immune to penalties from distraction/pain/morale).
5.     Repton-sized metal pylon ringed with sturdy levers. Interface panel shows map of local terrain and best-fit route from current location to resource-rich zone. Requires a team of ten Reptons (or three to four reasonably strong humans) to open, revealing opalescent, filigreed structure, like a fossil basket star curled around a flickering, barely perceptible mote of solid black. Upon release, computronium seed begins to unfold and put down roots. Surrounding six-mile radius will become a fully functional and populated Repton habitat within a month.
6.     Amoeboid drone; flexile smart-matter body around hard-framed central storage armatures. Absorbs wounded Reptons and deposits them in “care spheres” where internal limbs mend/foam over wounds and dose the patient with combat amphetamines. One round to recover an incapacitated Repton, 2d3 rounds to redeploy with a rerolled hit die and +4 to hit and damage. MV 120’, AC 10, hp 14.
7.     Mobile terrarium. Looks like a Rainforest Café stapled to the back of a mechanical crab. Reptons stationed in one never flee; they defend their home to the death. “Trees” extrude clone mealworm paste and simulation fruit flesh in narcotic, mildly hallucinogenic, and blue raspberry flavors. Guided by competent but nonverbal AI. Personalities tend to be grudgingly servile to overseers, pleasantly exasperated with crew in a way that should be familiar to any cat owner. MV 90’, AC 16, hp 80
8.     Meta-Rover. Modular all-terrain vehicle, top operable combat speed of 300’/round. Like a pile of motorized, armored bigwheels bolted together into a single day-glo abomination, until it separates into a swarm of single-seaters. Vehicles can hypothetically link indefinitely, but for every unit after the 6th there’s a 1 in 10 chance at the end of each round that the drivers fall catastrophically out of sync and the assemblage spins out.
The Reptons were the first species we encountered in the Contact War, and if it had only ever been them, things might have been different.
The average individual Repton is about as canny as an especially dull chimp in most regards. They’re reasonably talented tool-users, but if you were to raise one from the egg, away from their infrastructure, their at-birth implants, and mainline Repton culture, it would take some serious goading to get them to so much as flint-knap.
And yet as a group, Reptons are deadly. They fight tactically, often making unexpected gambits, and they fight with little regard for their individual well-being. They communicate constantly, though no-one has yet been able to decipher Repton script or spoken language; Repton “writing” features six thousand plus distinct characters and counting and doesn’t seem to have any fixed direction you’re supposed to read it. And their war effort is driven by arms and manufacturing tech that is sometimes leagues ahead of what humanity is capable of, or founded on utterly inscrutable scientific principles, even if the interfaces often seem designed for preschoolers.
But nobody has a clear, substantiated explanation for how they wound up with their tech in the first place. A camp in Freestar One’s strategic research division theorizes that they are the leftovers of a species that lost its evolutionary pressures towards sapience; another argues that they are an uplifted species whose patrons abandoned them, died out, or supervise them from a distance. Stranger explanations exist.
What is known is that their computers are frighteningly powerful and all of their machines talk to each other. Their industrial society is kept afloat purely by the power of their algorithms and the constant influx of resources provided by their ongoing conquest of the planet—the Reptons themselves are merely the hands that authorize and facilitate the intricate automatic processes of invention and fabrication that build their domed cities, develop their food, medicine, entertainment, and weapons, grow and indoctrinate their children, and schedule their lives.
They are vestigial components in a vast machine with no capacity to recognize itself or any part within, operating on the sprawling organic logic of a dream instantiated by engineers lost to time.
Anyone who’s been deployed in Repton territory can attest to the uncanny atmosphere they carry with them. No individual part of a Repton crew behaves like a person. But there is something that emerges in the interplay, as they fumble with their devices and their devices fumble with them, that suggests an intellect inherent to neither. If you watch them from the right distance—not too far, not too close—they resolve into something distressingly like us.

so the current poll results tend to suggest the following:
y’all want the roisa soulmate fic.  y’all really want the roisa soulmate fic. i haven’t started writing this one yet, and i don’t have the clearest vision of everything involved.  in point of fact, one of the ideas i was planning on using here i think works better for a one-shot but i have another soulmate trope added in instead.  there’s, like, three different soulmate trope prompts at play here.  still kind of working on unpacking some of the hard rules i want to use for those tropes, but this is definitely a doable thing, given that i have that full month of july to start on this. you have been heard loud and clear.
y’all want the roisa university fic. this is easier.  i already have a couple of chapters roughed out and started on the third, so i already have that backlog started.  this one doesn’t require as much world-building thought as the soulmate fic, so it’ll be easier to make a bigger backlog, like i had with carla and like i had with luisa and the fox.  given that i like alternating between projects (particularly between rougher and lighter projects), this is a good fic to alternate with the soulmate fic. again, you have been heard loud and clear.
after those two, which are clearly ahead, it looks like there are two different tiers of things y’all would like, and i’m mostly just going to focus on that first tier (the second tier feels like hm, this would be nice, but want the other things more).  so, that top tier:
y’all want iylhybhn updated twice a month. right now, given the arc we’re in, this is likely doable.  i have a fairly clear direction on the next...ten? eleven? chapters? roughly? maybe a little more?  so doing more than one chapter a month is doable.  i don’t plan on necessarily having a backlog on these, though, because right now i’m approximating 7k a week (sometimes more), and that’s roughly the length of an iylhybhn chapter (i think chapter ten was a little over 8k after the second write).  so basically, i want a backlog of other things so that i can write these more regularly. you have been heard loud and clear.
put jane: the real story on the monday update schedule. given the above two regarding the soulmate fic and the university fic, this may not happen.  i don’t want to try and push for a two times a week update schedule right now (although that has been my tendency, i like it not being...like, it’s an eventual goal, maybe, but i feel like that’s a bit of a stretch).  however, i do see that y’all want more regular updates on this, so maybe i can do these in-between writing chapters of iylhybhn.  these are lighter (mostly but not always) and really cathartic in terms of writing it, so they’re good in-between those. so might be updated once or twice a month, but likely not on the monday schedule.
put more luisa and the fox content on the monday update schedule. given the above two regarding the soulmate fic and the university fic, this probably shouldn’t happen but is silightly more likely than j:trs.  this fic is basically my favorite.  i already have some backlog on extra content once the fic is finished, and i already have an idea for furthering content.  because there is a stronger plan here in terms of what comes next, it’s easier for me to do this than j:trs, and since they’re on the same tier, i lean towards this one. so, likely, but not necessarily.
update the pokemon fic more regularly. considering i haven’t updated either of these since, like, november? december? i think november, this is doable. ish.  i don’t have a clear plot on luisa’s fic, but i do have a clear plot on clara’s fic.  so it’s possible i’ll update that second part more than the first.  this is on the backburner a bit, but i can try to, you know, not wait half a year in-between updates.  >< you have been heard loud and clear.
start posting everything’s coming up rose’s. i have a backlog on this, but it’s really rough and needs some editing.  i think i made it to chapter...i was in chapter three?  these chapters tend to be long - of the 17k i think i had, that covered...two full chapters, two partial chapters, a flashback, and...something else.  so, like, these chapters are long the way iylhybhn’s chapters are long.  may not backlog on these the way i want to backlog with my writing in july, but might.  probably won’t start posting these until after august - mostly i want to give a bit of a breather between this and the hallmark fic because they’re companion pieces and deal with similar themes - or, really, this is the fuller extrapolation of a lot of ideas i had when brainstorming those fics.
so, basically, what i’m thinking in terms of the monday schedule after july is:
update iylhybhn.
update the roisa university fic.
update iylhybhn.
update luisa and the fox content.
and then just alternate that way - primarily because university fic and luisa and the fox content are easier to build a backlog of stuff that’s just done and can go up during the month without me worrying about doing a bunch of writing and rushing each week. outside of that, in july, i want to:
start writing the roisa soulmate fic.
these may or may not be posted as chapters are available after july
idk how big of a backlog i’ll be able to do here, but i can do more brainstorming and writing during july for this
right now maybe tentatively look at a once a month schedule after july?
keep writing the roisa hp au.
i know this wasn’t on the poll, but it was still the highest voted from the last polls, so it’s still high up on the things people want tier
i still want to have an entire book of backlog before posting.  kind of like what i’m doing with the hallmark special.  i found that this was really helpful in terms of setting things up well for luisa and the fox, and i like having special fic projects that are done this way.
again, i plan on this being a weekly thursday update schedule per book
once the first book has been through two drafts with me and maybe goes to betas - so basically when it’s in its third (or fourth) draft, i want to start posting it.
i want this to be the process for each book, so there may be a long wait between each book.
have a bigger backlog of the roisa university fic.
in keeping with the potential new monday update schedule.
have a bigger backlog of luisa and the fox content.
again, in keeping with the potential new monday update schedule.
beyond that, i want to:
keep writing jane: the real story.
plan on a once or twice a month update but, like, tend towards still once a month.
because this is a lot of writing, y’all, and at this point, even looking at everything, it’s intimidating and i already feel spread thin.
keep writing everything’s coming up rose’s.
partly for backlog, partly i just really like this fic a lot.
potentially also a once a month update after august??
go back to writing the pokemon fic(s).
potentially update every other month.
keep writing heart in motion.
despite being on the lower tier on the polls, this fic has a lot of traffic.  not everyone who reads my stuff on ao3 gets here for polls, and from stats, this is wanted.
potentially also update every other month - i have a harder time with this fic in terms of getting into everyone’s voices across all of the characters.
feel free to pursue other projects at will.
this includes aftershocks and the rosalint fic and the super epic crossover and potentially other pairs (dottie/lint, for instance, would be really cool)
i still want to write an epic rose/dottie/whitney/lint/emma fic because can you imagine the five of them working together it would be great.
and this last one, in particular, is important because honestly, looking at all of this feels really intimidating and it looks like a lot and i know me and jumping between projects and i know that sometimes what i want to do in terms of what i know y’all want is not always what i end up doing because there are other ideas that really interest me.  and i don’t want to give up that freedom to adhere to all of this.  but it’s also nice to have a general plan of where to direct when i don’t feel overwhelming muse for one particular project or another. anyway.  here!  a thing.  ^^ also the poll is still open, so if y’all want to vote, feel free, and i’ll potentially change these sorts of ideas accordingly.

ALISA SAVAGE is an ORDER MEMBER in the war, even though HER official job is as HEAD OF THE AUROR OFFICE. the THIRTY-ONE year old PUREBLOOD is known to be ENTERPRISING and VIVACIOUS but also DOGMATIC and NEUROTIC. some might label them as THE LADY OF WAR. fc: inbar lavi
Tumblr media
so this is alisa savage, aka That One Obscure Auror Tonks Offhandedly Mentions in One of the HP Books (trademark pending)
pinterest boi
character inspiration: leia organa, hayes morrison, lexi branson, natasha romanoff, peggy carter, sara lance, jessica pearson, bobbi morse.
aesthetic.
high heels clicking on hardwood, the smell of fresh - brewed coffee, spilled wine, redacted information, smudged ink on parchment, the pop f i z z clink of champagne, quills scratching across paper, the satisfaction of reaching justice, lipstick stains on glasses, snakeskin and lace, the feeling you get when you step too close to a fire. messy blonde hair framing features that were once beautiful, but are now just tired. sharp whiskey and silent grief. honey eyes and tattooed wings beating against your shoulder, begging to be uncaged.
family ties.
ezra savage --- american ambassador, soon to be retiring. generally a playful, fun man, very personable and agreeable. it’s what made him such a good diplomat and father. he was a thunderbird when attending ilvermorny, where he met his wife.
hara savage --- former wampus!!! tiny and fighty and very very loving. a huuuuge spitfire. currently back in the states to help her sick mother.
damaris savage --- baby sis!!! was honestly the sweetest, most fun young girl. big dreams and even bigger imagination. she was a 22, a junior healer --- one of the ones who were killed during the siege, actually. surprise!!!!!!
childhood.
ALRIGHT SO the savages are actually an american pureblooded family!! though blood status typically didn’t matter as much in the states as did the way ezra made his way up to earning the title of AMBASSADOR. diplomat. emissary. whatever ya wanna call it!!
though the savages were also a later branch of the highly regarded ROCHE family, of the original twelve aurors, due to one of the women in the family marrying a savage.
alisa was born in 1949 america, which with all things considered, really wasn’t that long after the ordeal with grindelwald. but it was also 1949 in the united states, so the red scare was going strong when she was born, which was an entirely different sort of witch hunt than the one her wizarding community grew to know
with the red scare as a guise, there were some lingering anti-wizard people who used it as an excuse to go after wizards. again. but this time by saying they were communist spies!!!
she grew up in a wizarding world that wasn’t AS sheltered and concealed since the disbandment of the new salem philanthropic society just over two decades before.
the savages are spread all across the united states wizarding world, but this particular branch of them was fairly small and tight knit and centered right outside of new york city. much of alisa’s first eight years was spent bouncing back and forth between their home in new rochelle and the city.
after working as a translator for years, and growing from there, ezra finally reached a point where macusa and the president announced him to be their consul for the united kingdom’s wizarding world. this was v exciting for the family!!
so when she was nine, not long before she would have started her education at ilvermorny, the savages relocated to LONDON. fun!!! (sort of)
living on the wizarding world’s equivalent of embassy row and getting to witness this level of the government working was fascinating. her life from then on took the form of galas and exploring london with her mom (and eventually newborn sister, who was ten years younger than her) and mother and sitting in on some debates and discussions regarding foreign policies between the different countries.
a lot of political shit, but it also really shaped alisa?? it made her very interested in the mechanics of the government, and exposed her to how things WORKED. both in the ministry and macusa. it also displayed both groups’ PROBLEMS to her.
when she was 11 she was shipped off to hogwarts!!!
her parents didn’t want her on a different continent while they were still working in england, so after some discussion with headmaster dumbledore, she was brought on board
sorted into slytherin!!! her personality was essentially highlighted in slytherin, where her fire and drive and goals were celebrated, though her american background did receive its own criticisms. for the most part, hogwarts were some of the best years of her life --- she was a member of too many clubs to keep track, a keeper for the slytherin team, a top student, and incredibly social w/in her peers. sure she could be a bit.......biting sometimes, but overall she was v sociable.
then to now.
so after graduating from hogwarts, she went straight into the auror academy!!! though she was good at playing the social realms of politics, it was never quite as much her speed as what the aurors did. even back in the states she had practically idolized the men and women with these jobs, so it was no question what she wanted to do.
a very ambitious and determined woman, she fought and worked her way higher and higher up through the department as years passed. there was always that unspoken struggle of being a woman in a male-dominated field. but she was damn good at her job!!!! sometimes a bit of an annoyance to her peers when she would fight back on some decisions made on cases, but it’s bc she has a fucking backbone boiiii
so as she went from junior auror to senior and everywhere in between, she gathered respect. enough of a reputation as well, to be promoted to head of the auror office in january of 1980 at age 31. she is the third woman to hold the position and ALMOST the youngest, but not quite
she’s a workaholic so since her promotion you can catch her at the ministry even MORE these days
she loves her job though, and is v v committed to getting things done through the right means. off the clock she’ll do anything to get the job done, but when at work she’s v big on ensuring everyone follows rules and protocol when it comes to cases. she doesn’t need shit being thrown out the window bc someone didn’t go through the right channels or was a dumbass and did something out of line. they’re going to do it the right way dammit!!!!
oh okay right and the ORDER i need to talk about that
so basically she joined near the start of the war?? she was around 22/23 and a v fiery, excitable new auror who had a tendency to push her luck and speak impulsively when she shouldn’t have. but it was enough to get the attention of dumbledore and his small order at the time, so she was RECRUITED
sort of a spy but also not really
more does a lot of the strategy work, social warfare, my local ootp mom
helps organize missions n shit
personality.
LOOK I K N O W I SAID SHE WAS GONNA BE A KNOCK-OFF AMELIA BUT
she actually ended up being fairly different??? or i at least highlighted different traits than i usually did with mia
a detail-oriented big picture thinker. used to act more impulsively, but at this age she’s more likely to step back and take everything in before making decisions or calls and it’s what makes her a good leader, but also can be what makes her seem COLD
low tolerance 4 bullshit
quick tongued
warm hearted, ultimately
ready to do what it takes for the cause, but she also has a particular moral code that she won’t typically break
somewhere within the lawful good and lawful neutral spectrum ???

Review (Revisited): Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep
Tumblr media
Release: 2010
My Rating: 8/10 (up from 7/10 in my original review)
Kingdom Hearts Review Series: 1/8
Review under the cut,
Author’s Note: Typically I try never to repeat games on my blog. However, when I posted my Birth By Sleep review it was actually an archived copy from back when I started reviewing games as an exercise in 2014 and I hadn’t actually played it since then. When 2018 began and I was choosing my review series for the year I thought long and hard about making Kingdom Hearts 2018′s series and ultimately decided against it. And then, between the fact the old computer I play Tomb Raider on (the series I chose instead) dying and needing new parts, Kingdom Hearts III -still- projected to come out this year, and my need to play the series beginning to end before Kingdom Hearts III comes out I caved. The good new here is I can go over this review, give it desperately needed edits and an updated opinion. I’ll also be reaping my just deserts via having to play all the Tomb Raiders along side the Kingdom Hearts games this year, on top of everything else I want to play. Playing this again has also allowed my to develop a route list of my favorite path through the game (how to juggle all three characters and make the timeline make to most possible sense). I’ll upload that the second I’ve got it digitized and formatted.
When Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep was announced many of us didn’t stop to ask for details before rushing out to buy a PSP. It was a game that’s very existence promised so much: answers to lingering questions in the Kingdom Hearts series, a convenient starting point to newcomers and perhaps a fresh perspective on the series. Some of those expectations were delivered, some less so.
Birth By Sleep rewinds the clock to about ten years before the events of the first game, putting the player in the shoes of three different Keyblade bearers, each with their own individual story. These three routes can be played separately or all at once.
I purchased this game a week after release but it took me four years to finish for the first time. The game is structured in such a way that it encourages playing the three stories in sequence, but I didn’t enjoy the interweaving nature of the three character arcs until committing to playing through all three plotlines simultaneously. I preferred the game this way, but unfortunately there’s not an easy method of switching between save files. You can neither choose to load another character’s file in game nor easily return to main menu to do so. In fact the player must quit the game entirely and reboot it to do so.
The three stories occur during the same time period, with each character experiencing different angles of the story. Playing all three at once generally establishes a better feel of a complicated story, but also highlighted continuity errors where character show up in the same place at once or take inconsistent amount of time to travel from one place to another.
Additionally, rather than clarify the Kingdom hearts universe, the addition of Birth By Sleep serves mostly to complicate it by adding more layers to the mystery of what kingdom hearts is, who the keyblade wielders are (and just how MANY of them there even are/were) and who, precisely, has been masterminding all these evil plots that cause young heroes to set out. This said, the story is heartfelt and emotional, with emphasis on the power of friendship. If you’re a returning fan of Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy the game provides some fan service in the form of cameos by a good portion of Organization 13 and one Final Fantasy character. As always, the game also visits several Disney worlds, some Kingdom Hearts staples and others new. Their inhabitants make appearances, and occasionally your character will from a relationship with them that will allow them to D-link with the character, allowing new unique abilities.
As the three stories are complete the game gives you an overall completion score. The more completion you amass, the more of the post end-game story you unlock, including an extra level that ties off the game’s story and leads into the rest of the series. Unfortunately, the ability to unlock all the post game content is tied directly to the difficulty setting of each completed path, as well as the completion of some truly arbitrary goals.
At first the game does a good job of keeping the worlds interesting and juggling the different characters so that you never feel like you’re repeating the same steps three times in a row. However in late game the levels begin to drag and there’s less variation between the story each character experiences in the same world. For some the game may begin to feel grindingly repetitive.
It is not helped by the fact that unless one invests time in exploring the combat and crafting system the enemies can sometimes suddenly level hike, leaving the player frustrated. Basic combat and exploration mimics other kingdom hearts games with the player obtaining simple abilities like jump, dodge and attack that get expanded on as the game progresses. What is new, however, is that in addition to magic, there are combat abilities that can be activated at will. You scroll through a wheel on the left side of your screen and trigger commands with the triangle button. These abilities will level up and will then can be used in a crafting system to produce new commands. This is a large part of character growth and customization that does need to be managed. There is a in-game store that can supply new moves, but its prices quickly grow steep and the best moves are only revealed after crafting them or finding them in treasure chests on the games’s levels.
Some of the other features the game pushes are less helpful. The D-link system mentioned above takes the place of traditional summons. This is most useful early-game before the player’s list of commands is very long. D-linking fully restores HP and gives characters access to new abilities from the character they’re ‘linked’ with. Another feature, the command board, is a board game themed mini-game in which characters are used as game pieces and the points earned on the board become experience. This can be useful for leveling commands, but can become somewhat tedious and is luckily completely ignorable. Meanwhile, the Mirage Arena takes the place of the Coliseum in other Kingdom Hearts games. There, online or off, you can battle through tournament style events to earn experience or participate in some of the mini-games present throughout the game’s levels.
Combat makes up a large part of the core gameplay, and it’s fast paced and usually quite varied. Bosses present decent challenges without becoming too bad, unless the player has fallen under level (or under-crafted, as the case may be.) Shotlock commands allow the player to charge a special, crowd-clearing attack. Finally, the limit break system is generally fun and satisfyingly powerful. In later game it is even possible to limit break the limit breaks, which is even more fun. However, limit breaks also include special abilities and finishers that can become minor hindrances. This is usually related to being stuck in a limit break enemies that just spawned in are strong towards, or having to watch lengthy animations play out after all the enemies have already been destroyed.
It’s worth a quick note to mention Birth By Sleep is a game that encourages the player to install disc data to a memory card to reduce load time. An investment in a larger memory card for this purpose is highly recommended because the load times in Birth By Sleep are ubiquitous, and even with maximum amount of data installed, the game bogs down in acts as simple as opening the menu.
Graphically Birth By Sleep heavily recalls the other Kingdom Hearts games with its anime styling and bright, solid colors. This also helps cover up the PSP’s graphical limitations which only very rarely become apparent. The worlds perhaps tend toward small, especially as most areas are reused three times. Some worlds and stories are significantly more expanded than others, which can be a little awkward.
Birth By Sleep was an experience plagued with highs and lows. It answered some questions but smugly left players with many more, as is the series’ wont. Furthermore, the game has a decent story with power that’s hampered by confusion and redundancy, generally good pacing that sometimes ground to a sudden halt, and a feeling that the game wasn’t quite everything one was expecting. Like most other Kingdom Hearts games what this needed more than anything else was a thorough edit. Taken as a whole Birth By Sleep is a game you either forgive and love anyway or remain exasperated with forever. It is probably not the best entry point for new players which is a little disappointing in a prequel, but if you’re a longtime fan it’s definitely in need of a play.
My opinions have softened somewhat on a second pass through the game, probably because now that I’m fore-armed with knowledge of plot twists the story makes more sense. That said, there is something rather stubbornly smug about how confusing the game’s story is, and it could have done more to welcome new players. Especially as it’s now been re-released onto more mass market systems. That said I still believe it’s a solid outing and on-par with Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days as must-play Kingdom Hearts Spin-Offs.

Taking Stunning Printouts with the HP 305 COLOUR INK
Whether it is a cute album you want to create within the family or an important assignment or project that you are at, two things remain. The first one is obvious. Colored prints are anyday more attractive than prints that come out in black and white. And this makes the extra expenditure worth it.
But then, it doesn’t stop at that. Sometimes taking a colored print can be as sad as taking an ordinary black and white print. The reason behind this? The quality of the ink inside. And this makes choosing your ink cartridges wisely one of the most important tasks when it comes to your printing needs, and this especially if your print is going to be one with a lot of images and pictures, or that beautiful red gown is just going to look like something from the 1960s.
So, if you have an HP printer, we shall now have a look at a cartridge that you would probably want to get in order to enjoy some of the best printouts.
Having the right HP printer alone is not enough to give you documents that are legible and presentable enough to submit to important clients and other sources. And when it comes to HP printers, nothing can go better than the original HP cartridges that you can get from us. These are cartridges that come in varying sizes to match the requirements of different users. So, whether you are a company that takes volumes of prints each day or one that usually takes just a few sheets as and when the requirement occurs, you can easily find a good HP ink cartridge from us for you.
What should you buy ink cartridges from us? If you are still not convinced, we give you a few reasons below:
1. Quality - As an experienced professional or otherwise, you would know by now, that quality is a factor you can’t afford to brush aside when it comes to taking printouts.
While little things like notices to be put up on board wouldn’t need much thought, there are these papers that you would be handing to clients that can give out a positive or negative vibe. So, quality matters.
 2. Pictures - Now, this one is a color ink cartridge. So, if you are in an industry where you will be taking a lot of these colored printouts, be it as a printer, a teacher in a school or a photographer, crisp and vivid prints are of utmost importance if you want to keep your clients. And that is exactly what these cartridges give to you.
 3. The Service - Here at HP, we don’t just give you good ink. As your customers, we care for you and this we show by our services. So, if you would like to get your ink cartridges delivered, all you have to do is tell us. So, this way, running out of ink will never be a problem you have in the office, no matter how busy you are.
 A Little More About Us
So, this is a tricolor pack that includes blue, pink and yellow ink. The ink is dye based and it gives you a total yield of a hundred pages. The ink has been tested and is ISO certified. These color printers are compatible with a lot of HP DeskJet all in one printers.
You get to enjoy a warranty of ten months in which time you can stay assured that inconvenience is going to come in the way of your color print.
So, that’s about us. You can easily get in touch with us to buy your HP ink cartridges. We are easily available online and are also willing to get your cartridges delivered to you, as previously mentioned.
And while you are at it, you could also browse through various other models of ink cartridges sold by us. We have cartridges to suit different needs and different models of HP printers. Top 5 Best Modifications For Your Toyota Tundra
Trucks are known as the backbone of America due to their versatility and utility. Able to be taken off-road, to the grocery store, pick up the kids from school, or haul a load of gravel back to your house so you don’t have to pay the delivery fee. Trucks can fit in the fleet no matter how you look at it because they are such well-designed machines that can conquer any terrain.
Just ten years after the invention of the automobile, the truck chassis had been developed providing utility all across the world. The first truck ever released by an American manufacturer on US soil was the Ford Model T which is still a popular vehicle almost 100-years later. Although very rare, the Model T paved the way for modern trucks and assisted in the development of new technology for Americans.
Kicking off their first truck in North America, Toyota released the Stout in 1964 which was a half-ton truck chassis with a sub 100 HP engine. After a few years, it was discontinued and removed from production as their sights were set on a new chassis to appeal to the truck domestic. Upon the release of the Toyota Hilux, the American market bought them like hotcakes and was a great introduction to the market.
After many successful truck models between the ‘60s and ‘90s, Toyota had a new development up their sleeves. The Tacoma was an instant hit as it was a small and nimble truck that still could tow and haul lighter loads. The quarter-ton chassis made for a great daily commuter as it has a small footprint compared to larger trucks.
With the Tundra being a huge success in the states, Toyota went on to release the Tundra which excited Americans even more. The 4.7L V8 option that came with the Tundra gave owners the excitement and power output that other domestic trucks produced with their big V8 engines. With the half-ton chassis giving domestics a run for their money, Toyota quickly began to expand on their truck and SUV fleet.
With modern Tundra’s featuring a bigger 5.7L, manufacturers soon realized that these trucks take well to modification. Owners began off-roading the Tundra and found success as the suspension could take quite the beating and handles rough terrain like a champ. Soon after installing a few aftermarket parts, owners started realizing the Tundra’s full potential. Take a look below at our top 7 modifications you should do to your Tundra!
#1 Lift Kit or Leveling Kit
The first order of business when purchasing a truck is usually leveling out the natural rake. Trucks are raised in the rear to offset a load in the bed or small trailer attached. Being that many would rather a little squat with a load and have a level truck when driving under normal conditions. Most lift kits will level the truck while lifting and leveling kits will match the rear ride height to the front.
Lifting the Tundra not only levels out the ride height while raising it but the extra height allows a larger wheel and tire combination. Along with wheel clearance, there is also a significant gain in ground clearance as well to allow the truck to maneuver over tall rocks, large berms, and other obstacles that might be on the trail. Lifting the Tundra will prevent damage to the undercarriage during these situations and reduce the chances of getting stuck.
Most lift kits are a simple bolt-on solution while others offer full suspension geometry correcting components. When lifting a truck with double-wishbone suspension, the dynamic of the suspension is changed as the control arm angle is now different. A high-quality lift kit will usually feature a new set of knuckles that correct the angle of the control arms to maintain smooth ride quality.
Correcting the suspension geometry is not typically needed when leveling the front end or lifting the truck less than a few inches. When the vehicle is lifted over a couple of inches, correction is recommended to provide a quality ride as the higher you go the more rugged the suspension feels. Also included with high-quality lift kits are heavy-duty tie rods and optional shocks to improve the ride quality.

#2 Wheels and Tires
After lifting the Tundra, many owners go with a larger wheel and tire setup to better suit the wheel wells. Installing a larger set of wheels and tires not only improve the aesthetics but also provide extra ground clearance for the differential and axles. Clearing the undercarriage is one thing, but the diff and axles still hang fairly low from the factory, and one meaty sized rock could take it out and leave you stranded.
Getting the vehicle higher off the ground also gives the driver a better point of view. Being able to see further allows for dangers ahead to be visible sooner compared to sitting lower and having a vehicle in front blocking your view. With a tall wheel and tire setup, this is no issue as the height increase from the wheels alone provides a hefty difference.
Most wheel and tire combinations also provide immense grip on and off-road. Thanks to a wider wheel, a meaty tire setup can be installed giving the truck incredible grip. With some wheels offering bead locks, owners can utilize special tires that can withstand low pressures to optimize grip without de-beading the tire. A popped tire can put a stop to the fun real quick and require some assistance which isn’t always plentiful.

#3 Cold Air Intake
The 5.7L and even 4.7L V8 that was offered in the Tundra are some of the best V8 engines Toyota has produced. Following the UZ series, the 4.7L features a cast-iron block which over the years has proved its worth in durability. The cast-iron design would be ditched for an aluminum block for the 5.7L in the newer generation Tundras.
Due to the intake and overhead cam design, the performance of the Tundra seems to lack in the lower range torque band. Upon the simple installation of a cold air intake, the performance down low benefits significantly. Installing a cold air intake also reduces the intake air temperature (IAT) which results in the densest oxygen being fed to the engine.
With higher density oxygen being ingested by the engine, the power output is increased thanks to a stronger burn inside the engine. Reducing the IAT also prevents ping or knocking within the engine which could be catastrophic to the Tundra over time. Providing a stronger burn also results in improved gas mileage as the engine doesn’t have to work as hard to during the combustion stroke.
Upon installing a cold air intake, owners can enjoy an aggressive induction noise as the throttle body opens to let air into the engine. This aggressive tone allows owners to hear their engine at work and gives a more thrilling experience behind the wheel. The installation process of a cold air intake is simple and offers many benefits no matter the engine configuration in your Tundra.

#4 Exhaust System
Hearing the beefy V8 is sometimes the main selling point for the consumer. Being that the Tundra took off due to its robust construction and big burly sounding V8, many owners feel the exhaust system should have been better suited. Unfortunately, due to EPA regulations and the number of sales, Toyota, and many other vehicle manufacturers, had to put highly restrictive exhaust systems on their vehicles to pass strict regulations.
Since it is not the early 2000’s anymore, owners can install aftermarket exhausts without these regulations being an issue. Installing an aftermarket exhaust will improve the sound quality of the Tundra while also letting it breathe for the first time. Paired with a cold air intake, an exhaust system can drastically improve the performance of the Tundra as more air is delivered to the engine.
Installing an intake with a stock exhaust renders the intake virtually useless. As the increased air exits the engine the factory exhaust creates a bottleneck in the airflow. Due to this bottleneck in the factory exhaust, performance suffers and the engine can’t operate to its max potential. Simply installing an exhaust system can significantly increase the thrill of driving your Tundra as you hear the engine screaming through the RPMs.
Most aftermarket exhaust systems consist of 304 stainless steel construction to provide incredible quality and sound tonality. Simple installation makes this upgrade easy to do at home while offering phenomenal performance increase, especially when paired with cold air intake to truly maximize the beefy sound of the V8 under the hood of the Tundra.

#5 VR Tuned ECU Flash
Tuning the Tundra is made simple with VR Tuned, either send in your ECU or purchase one of our optional OBD II tuning modules. With the included tuning module, owners can flash their ECU at a moments notice then flashback to stock before a dealer visit. Toyota does NOT use flash counters during standard vehicle checkups allowing this tune to fly under the radar. For those that might not know what all tuning does, there are many benefits other than increased power with a VR Tuned ECU flash.
Throttle response is significantly increased after the ECU flash, as the throttle is controlled by an electronic butterfly valve and a signal from the pedal. Improving the throttle response was achieved thanks to the bump in the signal from the tune which eliminates the ramping effect when the butterfly valve opens. After a VR Tuned ECU flash, the valve opens as soon as your foot hits the ground.
Auto-adjusting mapping and fuel trims allow the ECU to adapt to different octane ratings while efficiently delivering power to the pavement. When adding other aftermarket components like an intake or exhaust the tune will adjust accordingly to maximize power through the installed parts. On top of the other amazing benefits, the VR Tuned ECU flash provides an increase of 19 HP and 19 lbs/ft of torque.

This might sound cliché (and that would be because it is), but I honestly think that the sunset is one of the most beautiful, romantic things ever. Some of the best photos I’ve ever taken are of the sunset as seen from the astronomy tower, or the edge of the black lake. Some people don’t see it, but it’s different every time. Every single time. The clouds are different, making the light peak over them in the most unique ways. The shades and amount of colour is always different, special. I just love sunsets. I found them to be a way of relaxing. Sitting on the edge of the dock with my feet in the water and watching the sun sink into the horizon. It’s a way to calm myself, one of my go to things to do when I feel the anxiety coming on. But I do it alone. I sit alone, and watch the sunset with nobody else to talk to and I’m okay with that. Nobody needs to be audience to my anxiety or the things I do to calm myself down. I knew what I needed to do when it got bad and I was okay with being alone, in fact it was better if I was alone.
Hold on, baby, you're losing it
The water's high, you're jumping into it
And letting go... and no one knows
That you cry, but you don't tell anyone
That you might not be the golden one
And you're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone
Being alone through all of this led to nobody really knowing that anything was that bad. My friends just thought I was quiet and shy. They didn’t know how my life went when I wasn't with them, how much shit went through my head. All these things that I would hate myself for thinking because I knew that none of them were true. Of course, I deserved love, of course I was smart, of course I could really do whatever I wanted if I put my mind to it, but that was only on good days. And those were starting to become less and less frequent.
I guess it's true that love was all you wanted
Cause you're giving it away like it's extra change
Hoping it will end up in his pocket
But he leaves you out like a penny in the rain
Oh, cause it's not his price to pay
Not his price to pay…
Nobody, especially not Remus, deserved to have to deal with me. He had his own problems to deal with, ones that were far worse than mine and if being honest with him meant giving him more things to worry about, then I would happily suffer in silence. Even after we started dating, I was in no way further inclined to tell him or anybody else. This was my problem and I wasn't going to let anybody else feel like they had to deal with it.
When I had my good days, I tried to spread the happiness as much as I possibly could. I wasn’t even really sure why. I just felt like if I was happy, I needed others to be as well, to make it all worth it I guess. Even when I was having a bad day, I put on a smile and dealt with it, because I could and I was thankful for that. One of my biggest fears was that this was all gonna get worse and that I would lose my ability to hide everything.
Hold on, baby, you're losing it
The water's high, you're jumping into it
And letting go... and no one knows
That you cry, but you don't tell anyone
That you might not be the golden one
And you're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone
~Remus’s P.O.V.~
Remus noticed. Of course he noticed. He wasn’t stupid, he knew there was something more to his girlfriend’s behaviour than what she let on. It was a month or two into their relationship, he had watched her make excuses and leave a room the second anyone raised their voice or brought up any sort of embarrassing memory. He found her calendar had about ten thousand reminders, repeated over and over, while her class notes had the same things written randomly in the corner of every few pages. He felt her grip around his hand tighten in situations that only made everybody else a little uncomfortable. He watched her talk to people and found that she almost never made eye contact, only with him. She was always awake before him and he was always asleep before her, but for a while he just figured it was because the full moon had taken it’s toll on him. Now it was weeks before the next one and he was still waking up to her staring at the ceiling.
You're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone... oh
Goodbye, baby
With a smile, baby, baby
It wasn’t until the day that Boggarts came up in defense against the dark arts that he (or anyone) really saw what she was afraid of. The second it was revealed what a Boggart was, Remus watched his girlfriend slowly inch her way to the back of the class so that she was less noticeable and therefore less likely to be picked for the demonstrations. Remus followed her to the back of the class.
~Y/N’s P.O.V.~
I wasn’t even sure what the hell was going to come out of that chest if I stepped up to it, but I didn’t want to find out. Remus followed me. Of course he did, he was so sweet and he cared about me, but right now I wanted to be alone. I didn’t want to talk about whatever shit was going through my head, it was mine to deal with and I would deal with it any way I like. But then he was right there in front of me. He didn’t ask me anything, he just held my hand and I don’t even know why, but it relaxed me.
When classes were over, Remus found me immediately and pulled me up to his dorm room.
“Are you going to tell me what’s wrong?” He asked as I sat down on the bed and took off my school cloak. I just shrugged in response. Remus sighed and sat down next to me. He took my hands and kissed my knuckles.
“Please tell me, I want to help you.”
“Rem, I don’t need help. I’m doing fine on my own.”
“I don’t doubt that your trying to feel better about whatever’s going on, but I miss you. You don’t look happy anymore and I hate seeing you like this. Please let me know, love.”
I took a deep breathe. I could tell Remus, right? Not everything, I wasn't ready for it, but I could say something. I knew it be far too overwhelming to talk about all of it, so I would just open up slowly.
“Okay. I have bad anxiety. Mostly social anxiety. Every once in awhile, I’d have these days where things that I do all the time, were just so hard to do and now… it’s just starting to feel like that everyday and I’m trying to do everything I can to relax and to try and make it easier, but everytime I walk into the great hall it’s like I just become stiff all of a sudden, like I can’t make a wrong move or it’s going to be the end and even though I know that’s not true, that’s how it feels. I can just feel it getting worse and I have no idea what to do because nobody’s ever told me how to actually deal with it. I mean I’m trying, but for the most part I’m just making stuff up as I go along and hoping that it makes me feel better, but sometimes it doesn’t. Maybe I’m not okay.” I hadn’t intended to say that much, but it seemed to have been a good thing that I did, because even though I could feel that tightness in my chest from talking about all of it, I could also feel this weight having been lifted from my shoulders.
“Why haven’t you told anyone?” Remus asked me.
“I don’t know. I guess I thought I could fix it on my own. That seems pretty stupid now.”
“No, it’s not. But you should know that I’m always right here to help you, okay? Don’t feel like it’s a burden, because you are anything, but that. I want you to be happy and it kills me that you’ve been going through this alone. Please, please tell me when you’re feeling like this, because I can help, okay?”
“Okay.”
True to his word, Remus tried his best to help. Honestly, I didn’t think it would do anything, but it did. Every time he saw even the slightest look of panic on my face, he took me somewhere else, he gave me chocolate, he stayed with me until I was okay. When it was really bad, he held me until the tears stopped. For the first time in a long time, it was easier to get out of bed. It wasn’t as hard to walk through the halls. I was okay now because I finally had something I didn’t know I needed; someone to watch the sunset with.
You're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone...

Itsame itsame I’m literally studying for an exam right now and my professor put that on his own notes... like bro nobody gives a shit about your stats notes I had a professor just say “don’t waste your money on the book. Just google book name pdf and it should be the first link.” Then he did in in class go show us And then you have the ones that sell their own 40 page notes in 2 sections for €20 each at the college book store. Or the ones that make class notes and give them out in the first class. Even better are the ones that accidentally send a pdf of their own book that they make no money on due to a shitty publisher to one or two people in the class. my favorite kinds of professors A full commitment is what I'm thinking of A lot of emulators come with a warning like "Use a bios file from your own console. Do not download one for free from the Internet!" I saw something on TIL a while back, during the prohibition era of the United States, some companies sold grape concentrate. They had a warning on them that said something to the effect of "after adding the concentrate to water, do not let it sit for two weeks as it will ferment into wine." As if...they wanted you to do it! That's a pretty calculated statement for them to make. *mobile errors I had calculus profs who would tell us 'I legally cannot advise you to steal copywrited material so under no circumstances should you go to this website and torrent the textbook for free instead of buying it from the overpriced book store and wasting your money' I always love those blank pages that just have in like size i font "Do not write here" for no fucking reason. Then the teacher tells you that they didn't see it I like when it’s in huge, WHITE print in the middle of the fucking page so half the assignment is cut off I like when it says on the side of the paper COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL DO NOT PHOTOCOPY OR DISTRIBUTE BY ANY MEANS Or the "here's a form that was made in Excel, if you could fill it out so that we can input the information back in Excel that would be great." "yeah..." "But the image gets worse!" Work in Japan. Teachers give me a copied paper. "just copy it. They have the file on their damn computer. Which is where we are sitting. -20 points. I can’t even read the damn question At my school, we get lectured for printing a class set rather than just a master. They say it’s about toner being cheaper and the copier cartridges are much much bigger. There are also a lot of places where teachers don't have access to a shared laser printer like that and don't have any option but to make photocopies, so stuff like the OP can be unavoidable sometimes. Genuinely not a problem in my school - we have a fleet of MFDs for bulk printing. We have an admin assistant in charge of the reprographics room who can interrupt jobs if needed as well. It's just an old mindset that they can't get out of. Yeah but then you have to be the asshole that released a print job with 200+ pages while others are waiting to use the copier since this is the only one you can print to. What is full sending? huzzah, a man of quality Have you tried full sending it? From an IT perspective, usually it's not that they want you to know what triggered the problem, they want you to provide concise information on what exactly you were doing up until the issue occurred. Though I do understand that IT technicians are notoriously unsociable lol I'm sure thats a great suggestion but that's the thing is that IT acts like its up to the enduser to already know whats causing the issues and what needs to be done to fix it. Also this doesn't solve his/her issue of getting staples on the copies. Have your IT reinstall your driver and you can select the options that your printer has. likely you are on a global driver, or it wasn't installed correctly! Or if I want staples. We can only select staples on our copier itself. It would be easier if the print queue thing was reliable. But I can't keep running back to my room if it didn't send it, so I make extra copies from my first one. Or if I need front/back from different originals I work in IT support for a school - teachers, for some fucking reason beyond my understanding, seem to print one copy of something, then photocopy it for their classes. Telling them that just printing it for everyone keeps the quality better doesn't sink in. It costs the same, comes out of the same device, and it's less work, but I'm the insane one. Th s rin er se ms o æ run ing lo n ink To the knee And my axe! And my sword! Take mine too! Fuck off take a useless arrow Actually it seems this printer is low on incas. Chlorophyll b absorbs particularly light with the wavelength of 630 and 460 nm. This wavelengths are at least necessary without sun entirely to get a breeding of crops.

Yes, even an increase light can basically encourage every plant to Grow and bloom. The grade of this light can have different impacts on various kinds of plants. This is especially important for pros. All of LEDs whenever there is a lack of daylight which sine in a red and blue spectrum, can be used for domestic purposes.
Which frequency ranges are used?
The Majority of the LED grow lights shine in a broad range of 430-500 nm and 610-730 nm. The first one appears bluish into the eye, the second one reddish a LED grow light emits a light. Some lamps just use two wavelengths of the range, others cover the entire spectrum.
How many lumens does a plant need?
The amount of lumen of a LED grow light is immaterial for the Breeding of the plants since it merely specifies how glowing a lamp is for the human eye and doesn't reveal the amount of electro-magnetic energy which may be implemented by the plant.
Grow lights utilize a range of wavelengths that is dark for the individual Ability to see but ideal for its energy extraction of crops. The energy that experiences plants as photon, is defined as photon circulation density (PPFD) or instead as the PAR-value.
Which benefits does a LED grow light have past a salt strain lamp?
Compared high pressure sodium lamp and metal halide lamps, LED grow to Lights appear to be rather expensive.
But taking the life span of the lights into Account, a LED lamp can provide a lifetime of partly 50.000 hours. In comparison to a conventional lamp that can provide about 30.000 hours, it's obviously enhanced.
The electricity is Fully converted to light and in warmth by overheat. This has the effect that no elaborate nor energy squandering cooling is needed. Oftentimes, a cooling system is enough.
