The best writing tip I’ve ever heard:
Write whatever you want to. Don’t worry about writing stuff that’s trendy or popular. Do you remember the cinnamon challenge, or dabbing? Most people don’t care about them anymore. Trends change, and they can fade out of the public eye so quickly that by the time you have your writing project finished the trend has died. One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever heard is “Write what you want to read, but can’t find.” I think Alex Hirsch said that in an interview, or something.

Hey guess what? My 1st submission to the Our Flag Means Death 2023 Reverse Big Bang is finally live!! I've posted the full giant piece over on my ao3 (@ Prototype) along with a big image description. These two close ups are of our lovely leading boys, in full magical AU glory! I had so much fun designing and detailing this piece, and I hope you can enjoy all of it!

Without being too much, I really appreciate all of my amazing mutuals and supporters through the last few months of working on this project and being in this fandom! I've never been as accepted and celebrated as I have for my own work, and it's been so magical to share with so many of you wonderful and insane people! Truly the best found-family crew one could hope for, whether it's screaming in the tags, sending me the *best* prompts for lingerie Ed possible, or just being the super sweetest, kindest, most uplifting moots in the messages possible.
Thank you all so so much, this is my love letter to every one of you who I have had a chance to bond with through this madcap journey to S2 (and beyond!)

🔥 witchcraft - in response to your unpopular opinion repost
Oh it's long, but here's what's recently been doing rounds in my head:
I'm with the gatekeepers. But sometimes people don't "gatekeep" correctly from my point of view, and then from their point of view, I am "too gatekeepy". When it's not about "more or less" gatekeeping, it's about how we go about it and who's doing it.
I often encounter situations where people don't respect nor properly protect things that need to be handled with respect and protection, and nuance, for the safety and general well being of everyone involved. In most cases, it's because they don't even know what they're trying to protect, or who, or why.
Gods Bless Nuance. It's completely gone from some very influential witchcraft people's vocabulary and behavior. And it irks me every time.
Like yes, sure, you can do magic without thinking too long and hard about the hows and whys that make magic work in general, and work specifically for you. But that's only going to take you so far as the "tried and true recipes" can take you, and in that case, you’re definitely not fit to teach or preach. You can't try to define, name, or explain to someone else something you don't thoroughly understand. And you certainly can't pretend to gatekeep the "Mysteries" if you've never fully submerged yourself in Them either. Not read about them! no matter how many books! Not taken a masterclass! submerged yourself fully, experienced them first hand, without the intervention or "guide" of others. Only when you've fully learnt to stand on your own. And that includes knowing when to say "this isn't my expertise, i'll refer you to someone else" or "I don't know". Standing on your own doesn't mean know everything and do everything, it means, what you do, you do properly. What you've learnt, you've fully internalized and know how it is applied. What you were given, you've made your own. You've earnt your stance.
The roles of teacher and gatekeeper in magic, in my opinion, always come together. When you're choosing what to preach and who to teach, you’re choosing what and who makes it through the Gates and more importantly how they do so.
Which means, if you're not fit to teach, you’re not fit to be at the Gates making Big Decisions about any tradition or the place of any person on either side of the gates. Specially not traditions that you don't belong in, but no, not even your own. You should still be in a teacher-student position and trust in the guidance and gatekeeping of your Elders or Teachers.
Not everyone is fit to teach, and most people online aren't. They're simply sharing their own experiences. But in the process, they often share more than they actually should, and more than they're fit to teach. Which ends up in all the misappropriation and bastardizing of practices, beliefs, entire cultures and religions on the greedy hands of people that should've never even been able to peer into them.
But students often underestimate the value and sacredness of what little has been shared with them in their journey. Specially in the beginning, when they don't know the whole truth to that specific concept, belief, practice nor the tradition as a whole and thus can't see the place of it in the bigger picture, or their own place as a practitioner, or simply don't have the maturity to take that weight in and act accordingly. They also vastly underestimate the sheer damage that incorrect handling and disrespect can do to a magical tradition and all the people in it, or to an initiatory, occult or "closed" religion, specially those magical practices belonging to disenfranchised and marginalized groups, and even to the people outside the culture, magical tradition, witchcraft tradition or occult religion, as they're reading or watching the student being inexperienced and incorrectly handling or inaccurately explaining something incomplete and out of context, to an even more lost audience, and thinking that's all there is to it. Missing the context of the message and who it was given to, and why. Missing the cultural context of the practice and all the ways that people coming from other cultures or traditions can fundamentally misunderstand it. Missing the theorical beliefs and cosmology behind why these truths are what they are, how and why these practices stem from them. Not just harm intellectually to that witchcraft tradition, the very real harm (physical, mental or spiritual, or all of the above) that anyone involved in that situation can incurr in if they don't learn to do certain things properly.
There's an alarming amount of so called "professionals" who are taken by others as authorities on certain magical traditions, and continously share bits of the "new findings" they're making, or the progress they've experienced personally... only to capitalize from it. Then completely detach themselves from the consequences of their actions. How can you share something you've learnt personally, and teach others how to do it themselves, if you haven't even fully internalized that lesson yet? if you haven't familiarized yourself enough with those spirits? what makes you think that what you're teaching, scratch that, selling, is actually something that is yours to teach or sell? what measures have you taken to ensure your own capability to teach this, who vouches for you and why? what measures have you taken to ensure you give due honor to the elders, the spirits, the Ancestors, and to the people who make up the body of this culture and tradition? and I don't expect just pretty words on a presentation if you're capitalizing off of a marginalized culture, I want really solid ways in which the profits of this work, class or else, will be going directly back to the original keepers' hands. I want them front and center at all times.
But even if it's not a marginalized culture or tradition. Even, no, specially when it's something that you created on your own, and had no one to lead you or teach you how it's suppossed to be done safely, the limitations of it, the reasons why it worked for you specifically and why it could or couldn't work for others. Hell, having no one there to challenge your biases. Witchcraft practitioners are often too quick to try to generalize an idea they had, a lesson they've learnt or a practice they've developed, in order to share it online with others, and sometimes, specifically in order to have something new to sell. Which opens a whole 'nother can of worms.
When you find all of that mess... with a cutesy instagram caption telling you to check out this New Offering! available only for U$D 200, for a limited time! That's just the cherry on top. Enjoy "learning" from someone who's practically a newborn to the relationship with those spirits, and has never had any of their biases or mislearnings checked. There's more chances that you'll be the one teaching them than anything else. And paying tens or hundreds of dollars ontop. The blind leading the blind.
TL;DR: If you're charging people hundreds of dollars for consultations and work, doing witchcraft profesionally, you can't claim to "never want to be seen as an authority". You can't literally place yourself in a position of authority, reap the benefits, pay your bills, but disregard and detach yourself from the responsibilities that come with your words and actions. Just because you know something doesn't mean you can share it, just because you learnt how to do something doesn't mean you can teach it, and you probably shouldn't either way. Witchcraft is often too personal and too culturally-historically tied to you specifically as a person, to your experiences in a tradition or lineage, and it's irresponsible, actively harmful, to generalize concepts, beliefs, practices or entire religions, for a wider audience in order to be able to capitalize off of them. "But I'm a witch and I got bills to pay" is never a valid answer to any of this. There's proper ways to learn and teach things in each tradition and culture, and they should be respected, in order to protect both the tradition and the people who wish to be, or are already, involved in it.

Warning : a rant about religion/religious stuff below, read with that in mind.
I’m tired of seeing people on TikTok (or any other social media platform, really) put down or berate others for their opinions or beliefs.
For example…
I saw an innocent video of a girl reading some scripture from her Bible and just talking about a dream she had. Not harming anyone, right? Apparently not…
I can’t tell you how many comments I saw of people from other religions putting her down and just flat out making fun of her belief. As a Christian, it did hurt seeing my faith being treated the way it was in that comment section.
But, here’s another example…
I saw another video of this girl showing off some of her crystals and tapestries that she had gotten, and I thought they looked neat! I liked the video, and went to leave a comment about where she got them, when I saw some other messages.
Basically to sum up what they were saying is that if she kept doing the blasphemous things she was doing she’d go to hell, and other hateful things.
It also hurt seeing her being put down/being for her opinions/beliefs, when she wasn’t even doing anything wrong or hurtful to another religion!
DONT 👏 PUT 👏 OTHERS 👏 DOWN 👏 FOR 👏 THEIR 👏 OPINIONS 👏 OR 👏 BELIEFS👏 OR 👏 RELIGION👏
STOP IT.
It’s rude. And you aren’t “saving” anyone by doing it either.
The same things goes for people who flat out just make videos hurtfully ridiculing a comment or person for their own religion. (Not just Christians or Satanists.)
Also…
STOP 👏 SPREADING 👏 MISINFORMATION 👏 ABOUT 👏 OTHER 👏 RELIGIONS 👏 OR👏 WAYS 👏 OF 👏 LIFE👏
Being a Satanist or an Atheist doesn’t make someone a devil worshipper. If someone is a Satanist, it doesn’t mean they’re in a cult. It simply means they worship mainly themselves or act as their own god. (Which isn’t right in my opinion, but who am I to tell them what to do?)
If someone is an Atheist, that doesn’t make them anymore wayward than the rest of us. They may not worship the Lord, but that doesn’t mean we should treat them like dirt or anything less than a human being.
Same thing goes for any other religion.
I have friends that come for other religions, and they’re some of the nicest/awesome people I’ve met! Sure, we don’t see eye to eye on a few things, but that’s okay! It doesn’t mean I should end a relationship over a little disagreement.
Also, I’ve also seen some controversial takes on people of the LGBTQIA+ community, and as a Christian, it intrigues me to listen to them, as I am a member of that community.
I’ve heard some people say that all who are apart of or even support the LGBTQIA+ community should go to hell, which I think is a bit rash. I’ve also seen people who say they just need forgiveness, but I’m curious, what do they need to be forgiven of?
I know in the Bible it says homosexuality is a sin, but ever since humanity fell, we’ve been stuck in sin’s (or the devil’s) trap, and I believe we won’t be able to get out of said trap until Jesus comes back. (The Rapture, The Second Coming, call it what you like.)
I can’t help the way I am, and you can’t just convert me to become straight just like that. I am very happy with Mia, and she is with me, and there is no way I’d leave her, for any faith.
And you know what, I respect your opinion if you think I’m wrong. I won’t say anything against it. Wanna know why? I’ve been taught and brought up my whole life to be kind to others, even if they don’t deserve it. And yes, I forget that sometimes, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be respectful towards them.
Especially if it’s about their beliefs or religion.
So, say it with me.
I will love and respect all of my witch, celestial, and earthy girlies/fellas, even if we don’t see eye to eye.
I will love and respect all of my Christian girlies/fellas, even if we don’t see eye to eye.
I will love and respect all of my Atheist girlies/fellas, even if we don’t see eye to eye.
I will love and respect all of my Satanist girlies/fellas, even if we don’t see eye to eye.
I will love and respect all of my Hindu girlies/fellas, even if we don’t see eye to eye.
I will love and respect all of my Islamic girlies/fellas, even if we don’t see eye to eye.
I will love and respect all of my Buddhist girlies/fellas, even if we don’t see eye to eye.
I will love and respect people regardless of their religion, beliefs, or opinions, even if we don’t see eye to eye.
See, that’s not so hard is it?
Treat people how you’d wanna be treated. Give respect, get respect.

Hey!! I really like your blog! I'm also trans masc and a witch. I seem to have a hard time meeting and becoming friends with other witches, do you have any advice about that? Thanks :)
Aw thanks! Welcome. Other trans masc witches get a lil favoritism around here, as a treat. I've actually never been asked this before, and I love this question! I absolutely do have advice about that.
How to Meet & Befriend Other Witches
So you're probably socially anxious like me and not gonna like this one, but the answer is interacting with people. You might have to get outside your comfort zone.
If you're on here? Ask creators questions. Reblog posts. Join discussions. Make your own posts even! You could make a post saying you're looking for other witches like you to follow be mutuals with. You could even make content in general. I'll reblog it. Some of the people closest to me, even people who have my personal instagram or people I've met in person were people who just messaged me some questions on here one day. So I'm big on encouraging people to ask questions or just start making content. I'm big on people asking me questions in general, because I have a special interest, but you get the idea.
Anyways do this on any other social media you use too. Find creators who talk about witchcraft on all platforms. Just follow witches and interact with them anywhere you can!
If you wanna meet witches in person, I have advice for that too. I live in what people consider a very conservative and Christian place but there are still pockets of us. Actually the biggest witchcraft event I've ever been to is coming up in March and I'm so excited! There are also local/localish witchy markets that happen all the time. You'd be surprised. So start searching! Join facebook groups, local ones if you can. Look for events on facebook or instagram or whatever. Google *insert your town or nearby city* with words like metaphysical, witch, witchcraft, etc. Find metaphysical shops, witchy shops, markets, all that. Anything you've got nearby. Go consistently. Befriend the vendors or employees. At the same booth as someone? Oh hey, I was looking at that too. See a nice outfit or pretty accessory on someone else? Especially if it's witchy, compliment them. Ask if they're a witch, ask about their practice. Find a way to strike up a conversation and get out there and talk to people.
Basically this whole thing can be summarized by saying get out there and talk to people! In any way or anywhere that you can.
I really hope this helps! Especially as someone who's never answered this before, and who has really enjoyed making content and meeting other witches in all sorts of places 💕

So I watched Episodes 4 and 5 (several times over cause that's how I roll with this show) and I just have to say. . .
Stede saying "I'm here, I'm here" constantly to Ed while he's in his in between state. . . that being what helps Ed to come back.
Buttons saying Ed's "still half dead", still in an in between state after waking.
After time spent talking to each other and to others, time also spent away from each other . . . Stede and Ed coming back together under a moon that is half full. Ed saying Stede's words "you wear fine things well" back to him, then shyly wiggling his shoulders, making the bell he wears ring. It's hard for him to say so but he wants to try again, he's back and ready to do so. The bell is a way for him to say "I'm here, I'm here" without having to actually say the words. ......... .......................
......................................
....................................................
DJENKS and crew. . . . . How are you so good at thissss????? Fuck those (our) hearts up. FUCK THOSE HEARTS UPPPPP!!!!!

Crystal magics!
-introduction-
Acquiring crystals: how to grow a personal collection!
Working with crystals is an intuitive process, and a very adaptable one as well You don't need to wait until you've amassed an entire collection of minerals to reap their benefits. You can simply start with the one you feel called to and go from there.
Choosing: The world of crystals is quite expansive, and so are the properties of each stone. Every crystal has a myriad of benefits, and you might find yourself drawn to one stone for a completely different purpose than someone else using the same type of crystal. Trust your gut and experiment with an open mind. You'll likely find that the crystals you are drawn to change depending on your needs and desires. If you think you should work with a particular stone because of a specific issue you want to address or get support for, but find you don't feel a connection to it, you don't have to force it. Instead look for the stone that feels right to you!
Buying: If you're able, choose your crystals in person. Often you'll get a feeling about which crystal will serve you best. Crystal shops and metaphysical boutiques offer a wide selection. There are also traveling gem shows; check to see if and when there's one in your area. If you're not able to buy your crystal in person, there are plenty of online shops and sellers. Because crystals absorb the energy of their surroundings, buy them from a reputable company that sells authentic pieces. Even so, you will want to cleanse every new crystal you acquire.
forms: crystals come in different forms that can affect their energy or the way you use them. just as you would choose a crystal based on its benefits and your current needs, seler the shape and form that you are most drawn to as well.
• Raw: Raw, unpolished stones arrive in your hands straight from the earth Some people believe these stones have a higher energy, but you'll want to find out for yourself.
• Tumbled: A tumbled crystal is typically smaller, rounded, and polished, creating a smooth surface that reveals the stone's vibrant colors and intricate details. Tumbled stones are easier to place on the body and take on the go, whether you carry them in a pocket or purse.
• Shaped: Differently shaped crystals can offer specific uses or properties above and beyond the crystal itself. Crystal points can draw negative energy off the body when pointed away from it Double-terminated points are great for balance, and enhance energy flow in both directions. A pyramid shape is believed to amplify the crystal's properties. When a crystal is shaped like a sphere, it reminds the user of the wholeness of the universe and the infinite energy that radiates in all directions.
—————————————————————————
Hope this helps with you finding crystals!
I may add links to online shops for crystals if its requested
