This, this, this in regards to every relationship & bond I have in my life. Sadly there are way too many people in this world who fear depth & finding others who are deep, open, & raw is a rarity. But although rare, connecting with others who unapologetically share & express their depth, honesty, love, emotions, & intensity is forever top tier ❤️‍🔥

Hymn to the Rose by John Duncan, 1907.
But why is this beautiful company worshipping the Rose? The Rose (exquisite and fragrant as actuality but also symbolic) has been associated with many female deities through history. From the followers of the Egyptian goddess Isis to those of the Greek Aphrodite, the Rose became eventually identified with holy Mary and her higher spiritual essence. To follow the Rose, a mystical calling, is to believe in a psychological and spiritual development transcending earthly bounds, to allow an inner unfolding that makes one complete, a unique individual yet in connection with the whole.

What does Sparrow’s spirit look like? Does it change form with each reincarnation to match that of the physical body it inhabits?
you could say that the golden one here is her spirit
Tumblr media
gods how i fuckin hate this picture i did a disservice on Multiple aspects- ANYWAY
the spirit molds itself into the physical body so it changes according to the incarnation, yeah. the molding process is the same as the one with developing the subtle bodies, though, so its real form is different. i'd say the same as any of the void spawn
Tumblr media
each incarnation leaves a sort of "trace" within the spirit with the knowledge it gathers- this is why the highly cultivated ones can still tap into it- and these traces are sort of like their own people but still the spirit. think the avatar stuff from A-TLA. all the avatars share a spirit that carries the knowledge it gathers, but they are still separate people, and these individual lives are still present within the spirit

According to the app, I've got fifteen minutes left in The Heir of Redclyffe, but I don't want it to be over.
#the heir of redclyffe#charlotte mary yonge#it's so odd#there's some of the 'swimming through legos' feeling to the prose that reminds me of reading little women and other earlier victorian books#where the prose is wordy in a workmanlike way so you can't really call it beautiful or skillful#but also the characters are worthwhile enough that it's worth the extra work#and when i think back on plot events it's kind of astounding how big a deal they've made over such very small events#but yet#there's a depth to that smallness#gives a sense of the spiritual significance of even the tiny stupid conflicts of daily life#(even when i don't buy into their victorian codes of conduct)#'the greatest drama in life is the battle for a single human soul' and all#which also makes it possible to read *too deeply* into this story so i gotta watch out#but i know i'm going to be thinking about these characters and their journeys for a long time#there's a lot of 'telling' along with the 'showing' of these arcs but they're still good arcs#she's so subtly brutal to these characters#losing all hope for the future can still leave you in joy#getting everything you ever wanted in life can be the worst possible outcome#(and not just because of the depravity of wealth or whatever)#(but because the circumstances of getting it are nothing like how you wanted it )#and the pacing is actually working surprisingly well#a lot of classics have this point where the last third or quarter has radically different circumstances from the rest of the book#and it usually feels weird to me and it's hard to think of it as the same book#but in this book that section might be my favorite in the story#the long denouement really gives you a chance to see how these characters grow#i'm a little worried she won't be able to leave everything in a satisfactory place with the page count we have left#but also if it never ends i never have to find out if she drops the ball or not

not knowing is the most intimate
( a memory briefly surfaces- I was scolded for not knowing. but that's more true and pleasant that being a know-it-all )
which I am not, despite what my mother thinks. I don't care what people, who choose to misunderstand me, think about me. I also have compassion for their perspective, because I can see why they thought that- but it is wrong. if they got to actually know their daughter and actually got curious, they would know the truth.
this is a chance to "start over" again. and now that I'm free from those sociopathic situations, I can continue on my course. Thank you.
" My longing for closeness borders on the transgressive. And I am disabled by society's expectation that I do absolutely everything on my own ". BECAUSE WE AREN'T MEANT TO BE THIS WAY, TO LIVE THIS WAY. INDIVIDUALISM IS PARTLY A LIE. ESPECIALLY HYPER INDIVIDUALITY.
when other people can't seem to handle you - and remember too, Ask Polly reminds us that other people's limits don't meant that you're too free - remember this, too:
" there person is saying, your joy scares me, your energy scares me, your openness scares me. Many of these people are not bad people, they just haven't met themselves deeply yet, and are still very armored, boxed up ... they're just not a match to us "
and finally, for this entry, last words from Zarina:
" I think I went into such deep darkness and have known such deep pain that now I'm left entirely on my own ... to know myself. I don't think God is guiding me anymore. No one is. I'm staring into the abyss and all I have to hold onto is my own heart " <3 <3 <3
SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL AND TRUE.

daisuke being dark's redeemer. daisuke being dark's heart. daisuke being dark's mundane life and existence that the phantom thief and live artwork otherwise can't ever have. dark saying 'as a work of art and just a mere object/thing you aren't allowed to wish and can't ever exist outside of anyone's dream' to baku, but also implicitly speaking about himself as daisuke's own dream. the heart sometimes being abandoned and considered a weak or useless organ despite its necessity and its strength as the strongest + hardest working organ in the entire body. the emotional heart that represents compassion and sentimentality. romance and sensuality in the broadest sense. the heart that lives. the heart that sustains and enriches and allows one to feel and be moved and be vulnerable. even if dark considers himself a monster as long as he has daisuke, then he's still a monster with a heart. meanwhile, even if daisuke is uncertain about himself or his future, as long as he has dark, then he can keep moving forward. it doesn't matter whether or not the dream is an ephemeral thing. only that it's there and daisuke himself wants to reach out to it; that he has the will to obtain and accomplish what he really desires.

This world lessens and diminishes, becomes maya, veil of hallucinations, as raw and rigid instincts stay unexamined but dangerously active, as unconscious violence of words and actions wants to pass as our true humane nature, as a norm...This world becomes big, heartfelt, expansive, real, as a filtering of mind, body and soul becomes a conscious effort, as a crystallization of existence, that is good habits, thoughts, feelings, behaviors that harm none but enrich become an option, where the beautiful inner meets the outer. Life is real as much as we are real. Life is an art. Each day is an opportunity. Each day demands a choice.

The Ouroboros
The ouroboros is an ancient symbol that has been used throughout history in various cultures, including ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. It is a symbol of a serpent or dragon eating its own tail, forming a complete circle. In alchemy, the ouroboros is considered a symbol of unity, wholeness, and the cyclical nature of life and death. Carl Jung, a prominent Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst,…
