Summary: Stand-alone prequel to MLCB series combined with an ask for a sick fic. How the reader met and fell in love with Willy. Instant chemistry! (Longer than intended, but I just couldn't stop)

BOXES
"ACHOO!" You heard a loud sneeze in the alley followed by a crashing sound on your walk home from work. You peered around the corner of the building and spotted a lanky man with a fuschia coat and dark hair curling around the brim of his brown top hat looking down at the mess of boxes surrounding him on the ground.

"Are you alright, sir?" you asked.
He swirled around to look at you with a light pink blush spreading across his cheeks. "Oh, uh, yes. Thank you, Miss...?"
"[Y/N]."
"[Y/N]. What a lovely name. I'm [achoo!] Willy."
"I know who you are, Mr. Wonka," you said with a smile.
"Really?" he said in a surprised and equally nasal tone before sneezing again.
"You *are* quite the celebrity around here, sir. Do you need some help?" you asked, pointing to the boxes.
Willy looked around and sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. Noticing that he didn't seem to be the type to easily ask for or accept help, you pried further. "Where are you trying to take them? I work at a shop nearby. We could borrow the cart."
"Really?"
"You say that a lot, don't you, Mr. Wonka." You giggled.
"Just Willy, please," he said softly. "I just need to get these boxes to my shop at the Galeries Gourmet. I thought I could get them all in one go, but well..." he trailed off as he gestured with his hands to the boxes on the ground.
"Well, Mr. Wonk...Willy. You stay here and gather your boxes, and I'll go grab the cart."
He flashed a big smile your way. "Thank you, miss."
"Just [Y/N], please," you parroted back with a slight blush. "I'll be right back." As you walked away, you heard him sneeze a couple more times before you were out of earshot. Poor thing sounds like he is coming down with a cold.

By the time you returned, Willy had restacked the boxes so they were no longer blocking the alley. You both loaded the cart, but he took over pushing it toward his shop. "So why are you helping out a complete stranger, [y/n]? I do hope you aren't missing out on any big plans on my account."
"You aren't exactly a stranger, Willy. Everyone knows the famous magical chocolatier. But in that moment after you dropped your boxes, you looked just as human as the rest of us. I couldn't very well just pass you by and ignore you. Besides, this is far more exciting than anything I had planned this evening."
"Really?" [achoo]
"There you go again," you grinned. "Yes, really. The only plans I had were dinner and a book."
"Oh, you like to read? I like to read, too," Willy announced proudly. "I just meant...well, a pretty girl...lady...person like you...I mean, no, uh... there's nobody waiting for you at home?" he stammered.
"Are you asking if I am spoken for, Mr. Wonka?" you teased and unintentionally sent him into a coughing fit. "Oh dear, I'm so sorry. I was just joking. Are you okay?" You grabbed his arm in an attempt to stabilize him as he doubled over.
"I'm fine," Willy croaked as he stood back up. He looked down at your hand on his arm and smiled. Feeling suddenly bashful, you let go and clasped your hands behind your back.
"We should keep going, Willy. You need to get out of this cold air."
"Right you are, [y/n]. Your nose is turning the same shade as my coat!" he said with a grin as he booped your nose with his index finger. Warmth spread all over your body like electricity at his touch.
Recognizing that his actions may have been a touch too forward for a girl he just met (who never confirmed her availability), Willy cleared his throat in embarrassment and started to push the cart once more. You walked alongside, still dumbstruck by the effect of his touch.
"You didn't answer my question," he quipped after a few steps, breaking you out of your reverie.
"And what was that?" You knew what he was referring to but wanted to hear him say it again.
"Are you...[clears throat] is there anyone waiting for you at home?"
"Just my parents." If anyone else had asked you that, it may have been creepy. But you could sense his sincerity.
"Oh," he said with relief, though you could swear you saw a brief glint of...sadness? "Great, well I will have your cart freed up quickly so you can get home and not worry them."
"What about you?"
"Me?"
"Yes, is there anyone at home waiting on you? Perhaps a special someone?" You looked up into his eyes, unabashedly flirting. You noticed that underneath those lush dark lashes, his eyes were actually blue with a hint of green around the pupil. Huh. He's even more beautiful up close, you thought.
"No. It's just me and my shop."
"Oh," you mimicked his earlier response, trying to disguise your excitment that the magician/chocolatier was single. The two of you kept walking in companionable silence until you reached his shop.

After unloading the cart, Willy swept the hat off his head and half-bowed to you. "Thank you again, [y/n]."
You giggled at the gesture. Not ready to call it a night just yet, you offered, "I could help you unpack those boxes, if you'd like. I know you aren't feeling 100% and really, I have nothing better to do." Besides thinking about him all evening, you said silently in your head.
Willy tried to stifle another cough. "Alright, sure. More hands makes lighter work."
You grabbed a box, sat in the floor, and started shuffling through its contents. You had no clue where anything went, so you started sorting like things together for Willy to put away. At one point your hand grazed his as you reached for the same item. You both blushed.
Clearing his throat - you were unsure whether this time was due to awkwardness or illness - he sat down on the other side of the box from you. He said, "So tell me about this book you are reading." It didn't take much prompting for you to excitedly recount what you had read so far of Treasure Island and your other favorite adventure books. In turn, he regaled you with tales from his time as a sailor.
Time passed very quickly as you swapped stories. Next thing you knew, it was dark out, and the two of you hadn't even fully unpacked the first box.
"Oh dear," you groused and stood up. "I should get going, Willy. My mother is probably pacing the floors."
"Since you stayed out late on my behalf, it's the least I could do to walk you home. If you'd allow me the pleasure." You noticed that all of the talking had made his voice sound hoarse and gravelly.
"You really ought to stay inside where it's warm. The cold will aggravate your cough."
"I wouldn't be able to rest wondering if you made it home safely in the dark," he said softly as he stood and brushed the dust off his pants.
You felt the heat flash across your cheeks as you blushed at his admission that he would be thinking of you after you leave. "Oh, well in THAT case, I would be honored to have you accompany me."
You both bundled back up into your respective coats and hats. As you suspected, Willy's cough worsened with the cold. As much as you would love to draw out this encounter, you don't want him in the cold air longer than he had to be. You quickly led him to your shop to return the cart before heading home.
Once you arrived, you both lingered at the front door. You stopped breathing as he took your hand and kissed it. "I'm glad I dropped those boxes, [y/n]," he said softly as he looked into your eyes.
It was your turn to stammer. "Me, too. I mean...I'm glad...I'm glad our paths crossed."
"Perhaps they can cross again soon?"
"I'd love that. I..." you were interrupted by Willy's sneeze. You couldn't help but laugh at his timing. "You, sir, need to go home, get warm, and take care of that cold." You smiled up at him.
"Yes, ma'am." He grinned.
You unlocked the front door and slipped inside. You leaned against the door and slowly released the breath you didn't realize you had been holding. You stared at the hand that he kissed, biting your lip to contain a squeal of excitement.
"Mom," you called out. "I'm home, and you're never going to believe the evening I've had!"

You were off work the next day, so you decided to swing by Willy's shop in the morning to see how he was doing. You walked in and browsed the store, but he was nowhere to be seen. You started second guessing yourself, wondering if you were being too forward by dropping in the very next day, when you heard, "[y/n]?"
You spun around with excitement, but your face fell when you took in his unnatural pallor. "Oh Willy, you poor dear."
He started to speak, but was overcome by a hacking cough that sounded far worse than the night before.
"You should be at home resting."
"I can't. My store..."
"....seems to be running just fine at the moment. Besides, your customers may be wary of you coughing all over the chocolate." You crossed your arms and raised your eyebrow.
He smirked. "Touché." His voice was still raspy from the night before.
"Let me walk you home this time."
"I am quite capable..." [achoo]
"Oh, I know you're capable of getting there. I'm not convinced you're capable of leaving the shop without being dragged out."
"You know me so well in less than 24 hours," he said with a smile that reached his glassy eyes. "I suppose you are right [sniffle]. You have a knack for appearing at a time of need. One can't pour from an empty cup, I suppose. Let me get my things."
You waited out front has he gave instructions to the cashier and stocker. Once he joined you, he offered you his arm and you began walking toward his place. The trek was interrupted by multiple coughing fits, one of which left him breathless and needing a break on a bench.
"Is it okay if I feel your forehead?" you asked. Once he nodded, you gingerly rested your fingers against his head. "You are burning up, Willy. Let me know when you feel like you can stand again so we can get you home."
After a few moments, Willy rose from the bench. He offered you his arm again, but you suspected this time it was to balance himself more than a gentlemanly gesture.
Willy looked even more pale and clammy by the time you arrived at his home. He handed you his keys to unlock the door as he leaned against the frame for support. You opened the door and gently led him inside. You wouldn't normally enter the abode of a relative stranger, but he was all alone and you felt oddly safe with him.
He collapsed on his sofa as you set to work to make him comfortable. You dampened a cloth to set on his forehead, removed his boots, and covered him with a blanket. "Would you like me to make you some tea for your throat?" He nodded and pointed to the cabinet where he kept the tea leaves.
You got the kettle going and looked back to observe the man. Was he asleep already? You tiptoed over to check. Sure enough, he had dozed off. Feeling that sleep was probably more necessary than tea, you turned off the stove.
Unsure of what to do, but having no desire to leave him in this state, you sat in the armchair next to Willy and passed the time by reading a book from his small collection. After about two hours, he started to stir. He looked around confused before he saw you and smiled.
"[Y/N], you stayed."
"Of course. Could you imagine the uproar if I let something happen to our town's infamous chocolatier? I would be cast out." You grinned. "How are you feeling?"
"A little better." His voice sounded a little less strained than earlier. That was a good sign.
"Good. I'll make you that tea now." But before you could make your way to the kitchen, Willy grabbed your hand.
"Thank you for staying and taking care of me, both yesterday and today. You hardly even know me."
"We can fix that."
"Really?"
You smiled, rolled your eyes, and went back to making tea.

Honestly I believe Yugo originally brought you into the group randomly and you just decided to stay and no one had really mind it much making you an official member of the group.
You liked Adamai the most out of everyone at first and then when the fight happens and the group splits you were taken in with Dally and his wife Eva cue endless chaos and you becoming an unpaid baby sitter for their brats and all, practically the oldest since you were technically adopted first
You mostly nap around and don't go out much when the break in happened you tried to quickly get the kids to safety unfortunately you underestimated the enemy and your favorite of the group was a traitor it broke your heart too before they could go and kidnap their daughter Elely you quickly jumped in making a shield to protect the two of them
It broke when Adamai hit it and it flung all of you back as they took Eva and Flopin, you weren't all that injured but you did have the fall and was limping a bit coming to check in on them seeing Dally dead (technically) it was even more heart breaking and you had curled around them trying to keep them warm
After the group reunites to fight Oppro and everything you begin to find out and the devastating truth and everything but you didn't want to bring in more helping them each turn the best you can while breathing a bit heavier not that anyone noticed or anything but Ruel's pet which you shooed away for it coming too close to you at times.
It was daunting watching everyone falling apart and tension rising it became more harder not to cave in but you passed it all finally able to help aid in battle against Oppro using what little strength you had left to witness Eva and Dally last child be formally welcomed unfortunately you couldn't hold on much longer after the said war and a soft Boop to the children's head you unfortunately passed on leaving your memories and your collar behind
Yugo;
He was so guilty crying over your limp body blaming himself silently his hands clenching your fur but you weren't reacting at all it set dawn on him that you were gone and not coming back it made him deny it all this wasn't happening you'd be back and happy, you will wake up soon.
But you never did
Amelia;
She covers her mouth in horror looking over at you it was eating her up inside slowly as you laid there knowing you'd never wake up to annoy her like how you used to always do something silly along the way
How she wishes for those times again
Dally;
Losing a friend after having his son was heartbreaking just like how you were there for them and their two first you won't be there for his last one he could only chuckled sadly brushing your fur
"I hope you do well wherever your soul decides to travel, we'll miss you for sure."
Eva;
You were a companion she sought comfort and guidance many times and maybe you were that little therapist she had you were like that for her children too and she loved that, she missed you, she wished you were here now, she missed how you'd jump up on high places near her and just watch curiously as she does her thing before her children made some ruckus prompting you to go and see what's it's about
She wishes this was all a bad dream.
Adamai;
Guilt and regret came in full fold his only interaction was hitting you away when you tried to protect Elely and Dally meaning his last moments were not on good notes with you or anything he could only silently look down at you and wish you'd have a safe journey
He wished he could have said how sorry he was
Ruel;
Honestly it was a slight connection, who am I kidding you two were treasure buddies you always brought back stray karmas to him being proud when he took it and praised how you were his luck charm in becoming rich, he felt moments like that were to short, he wipes a tear from his eye
"Be safe on the road there, hope you won't miss me too much"
Elely;
You were her best friend and big sister always hitting her when she did something wrong or maybe glaring at her when she unintentionally threw a Snowball at you when you were all nice and cozy ending up with you chasing her and you both laying by the fireplace after she got the cold from her adventure
She promised she was going to be strong one day and she'll keep that promise
Flopin;
He no longer felt the same reading books without you looking over his shoulder or maybe laying close as he pets you and you purr softly, he knew that many times you'd just listen as he rants on about new things and inventions and you'd meow as if answering him back
He just wished he could talk to you again
Goultard;
Even though you both maybe didn't have much interaction he saw that you were a good warrior you earned the respect from him for you, he wished he had more interactions with you

Episode 35: Escape Room

"You look gorgeous today..."
If (y/n) had a dollar for every time her fiancé said that...she'd have a lot of dollars. Across the room, Charlotte met her gaze with a smirk, peering over a grindstone as the woman became flustered and shy. 
They had a job to do - nothing serious or dangerous. Merely opening a new shop or something mundane like that where all the heroes had to do was go in, smile, wave, cut a ribbon, say a few words, and leave. Not exactly the stuff of legends, but it was part of the job, so when the call came in from some schmuck businessman, Ray couldn't say no. 
The couple was ready to go, in uniform, with the Man Van keys in Ray's pocket, but they were still one sidekick short. Henry had yet to arrive, so as Charlotte sharpened the man's favourite ribbon-cutting scissors and Schwoz polished a trumpet, he filled the spare time with his sweet girl. Mainly, he held, kissed, and whispered sweet, mushy words in her ear to make her blush - the usual stuff. 
"You've said that three times this morning, doofus. And it's only ten," the heroine replied, giggling as she booped his nose and ran her fingertip over his lips, wondering at their softness when he leaned forward to catch another gentle kiss. 
"That's 'cause it's true, darlin'. Have I ever told you how hot this uniform is on you?"
"You may have mentioned it once or twice," (y/n) hummed, smiling softly and tilting her head back when he trailed butterfly kisses down her neck, pulling more giggles from his precious girl. It didn't matter if it was the same costume she wore every day, the exact outfit she'd had for years; Ray thought she was singularly the most beautiful girl in the universe, eclipsing anyone else in his view. The centre of his world. 
Charlotte watched them from under her face shield, shaking her head whenever she could spare a moment from her work - one wrong move and she'd shave her finer off, but those two...when would they put everyone out of their misery and just get hitched?
"Yo, yo, yiggity yo!" And the morning got better. Jasper stepped out of the elevator in a cheery mood that ground Ray down, irritating him to the point where (y/n) had to kiss his cheek to bring him back to her. 
"Yo!"
"Yo!"
"Yiggity!"
"Yo!" They replied happily, some happy to see the kid as he swung a bundle of books around by its leather tether. Ray returned to kissing his sweet girl, mumbling in her ear about how she looked better out of uniform as he caught her lips, but Jasper wanted some advice. Namely, from one smarter than him. 
"Hey, Charlotte, you don't look busy. Can you help me with my ho-ho-higgity homework?"
"I would love to, but I have to sharpen Ray's giant sci-sci-sciggidity...his scissors. His giant scissors. I'm sorry. I couldn't keep going," the girl replied, showing the boy her handiwork - perfectly sharpened red and blue scissors for snipping Swellview City Hall's best ribbons.
"Ooooh, you got another grand opening today? You love those," Jasper asked, glancing over at the couple near the tubes, pulling them from their...personal time. Putting his fiancée down, Ray walked over to the kids, grinning because Jasper was correct; he loved everything about the fancy occasions. 
"Sure do. Love all the fanfare, love that new store smell..."
"You love making every grand opening about yourself..." (y/n) joked, poking the man's pec because she knew she was right. All she had to do was walk around, shake a few hands, and let him do all the hard work - her doofus lapped it up. She shunned the limelight, yet he dived in headfirst, parting crowds and signing autographs whilst she and Henry stood back and shook their heads. 
"Shhhhh..." Ray beat down a smile, smushing his finger to her lips before swiftly cupping her cheeks, silencing his girl with a soft kiss. She knew him too well; every grand opening always ended in Captain Man on magazines and not the new venture, something Miss Danger loved to tease him about. 
"Don't worry, doof. I still love you, even with your ginormous head," (y/n) giggled, which turned into a shriek when he tickled her sides, saying he'd show no mercy for such cheek, but everyone knew he loved nothing more than seeing her like this. Safe, happy, his name on her tongue...
"Yo, yo, yiggity, yo!" Someone called from the elevator, breaking up the tickle attack before the woman died of laughter. She'd later thank Henry for his unknown mercy, but he'd committed a serious faux pas. 
"That was my line, big dog!"
"What?" The boy asked as he stepped into the room, wondering what he'd done so wrong to warrant such a strong reaction. All he wanted was to sound friendly, jovial, and lively, but Jasper had beat him to it. 
"Jasper already used that entrance line," Ray told him as (y/n) tucked herself under his arm, content to rest her head against his chest and wrap her arms around his lithe waist. If she was gorgeous today, he was too handsome for his own good as she tried not to jump him. 
"Oh, uh...howdy, doody...my little...cuties?" The boy tried, piecing together the tiny ditty in his head, but whilst it rhymed, the words felt clunky and stupid when he spoke them. The second they left his mouth, he regretted them, especially when his friends groaned and wrinkled their noses. 
"Don't do that again," Ray ordered his sidekick after feeling his pretty girl shudder against him, no doubt cringing from being called a cutie. He, her devoted lover, didn't call her that, but they quickly moved on when Henry noticed what Charlotte was doing. 
"Nooooo! It's the grand opening scissors!" Henry whined, watching the girl press the blade's edge to the spinning stone, sparks flying as she worked the metal to a deadly sharpness. 
"That's right!"
"We have another grand opening?!"
"You bet your butt we do!" The hero told him confidently, practically preening himself, and Henry knew that look. Nothing was more boring to him than following Ray around whilst he shook hands with slimy so-and-so's, posed for the camera, and sipped champagne. 
"I hate grand openings! I hate the fanfare, I hate that weird new store smell...I hate Ray making it all about himself..."
"Right?" (y/n) smiled cheekily at the boy, chuckling to herself for her hilarious little joke as Ray huffed. A hand slid down her back, pinching her butt and making her squeal as he leaned down to kiss her again. He swallowed her gasps, smirking at the small victory of having the last word as he took the scissors from Charlotte over her shoulder. 
"Bad girl..." he growled, helpless to stop himself from kissing her cheek, even when she kept giggling. His naughty girl...although he couldn't help but break and smile with her as he sheathed the giant scissors in his belt and took her hand. 
"Let's go. Swellview's newest escape room isn't going to grandly open itself," Ray told Henry, the only one of their trio who wasn't ready. 
"What is an hehescaaaaaapeye rhoooooom?" Schwoz asked, stretching his mouth wide as he tried to wrap his tongue around all those complicated syllables, but he sounded crazy. However, it wasn't that difficult compared to some scientific stuff he worked with, like otorhinolaryngologists or deoxyribonucleic acid. 
"Oh, come on. You know how to say the word, room," (y/n) sighed, leaning into her doofus as the genius' wore her out. And they hadn't even made it to the place yet. 
"An escape room is where they pretend to lock you and your friends inside."
"And the only way to get out is to solve a series of clues and riddles and things." 
"If you solve enough clues in time, you escape," Henry and Charlotte explained, having played a lot of escape rooms in their time. Whilst the boy wasn't the best, Charlotte, with her big brain, bossed them every time, figuring out every trick and having tons of fun along the way. 
"Yeah, and just saying, I'm, like, really good at them, so... It's the only reason why I agreed to go to this grand opening thing," (y/n) piped up, proudly folding her arms since she could say she'd never failed a room yet. Even when she had Ray to contend with, they still made it out, and it earned her the adoring, besotted, puppy-like gaze he gave her now, eyes eating her up as the hero drooled over his clever girl.
"Ohhhh, that's how you hehscapppeyyppee from the..." Schwoz nodded, understanding the general concept, even if it sounded a little strange with all that about being locked up. But when he glanced at Ray as his words slipped and slid into one long noise, the man pulled the scissors from his belt a little as a warning. 
"Room!" And it worked. Schwoz punched out the final word in a perfect American accent. He was too scared to say it in his Schwozian accent for fear of getting sliced and diced and only settled down when Ray contently left the blades alone...for now. 
"Bubble up, buttercup! Your sister's gonna meet us there," (y/n) told Henry, throwing him a gum tube so they could get going already, but the added guest was news to Jasper. He, too, was a Captain Man super fan, always had been, but he never got invited to fancy events, unlike that brat...
"Why does Piper get to go to grand openings with you guys, but we never do?"
"'Cause she's the President of The Man Fans, right?" Henry replied, thinking it was obvious, and besides, the kid got to work for Captain Man and his precious fiancée. Wasn't that enough, knowing how private and protective the guy was?
"Yeah, it makes sense she would be there. Miss Danger, Kid Danger, and I can't show up to an official event with Jasper Dunlop and Charlotte...uh...uh..." Ray chuckled, doing so well until he reached Charlotte's name, and that's when he stumbled. No one could blame him; after all, the girl was usually content to get on with her work with no attention or fuss, but for once, he'd offended her. 
"Do you not know my last name?" She questioned indignantly, gawping at the man, never bothering to ask. All the years he'd known her and never found out? Was it her? Was she the problem?
"Uh...no...it's...uh..."
"I've worked with you for five years!" The girl exclaimed, bringing a tear to (y/n)'s eye because had it really been that long? Her little baby...so grown up, but she couldn't help but chuckle at the interaction, knowing her doofus was terrible with stuff like that. 
"Come on, doofus. Tell us what Charlotte's last name is..."
"Yeah, I know, I know. It's...Swebb," Ray said awkwardly, plucking the name out of thin air before slowly creeping away. He tugged (y/n) behind him, aiming for the tubes in case the girl tried to strangle him because he had no clue what her surname was. Who remembered stuff like that?
"You think my name is Charlotte Swebb?"
"Is it not?" Jasper frowned, earning another mortified glare from the girl, who was suddenly aware of the morons around her. She'd known Jasper all her life; they went to school together; she'd had sleepovers at his house; they'd worked together for five years, and he didn't know either? 
"Don't worry, Char. It took this doofus a few months to remember my last name. Until then, I was just (y/n), the girl who does my laundry," the woman laughed from the back of the Man Cave, hugging Ray tightly in preparation for blasting upwards - and it felt nice. Her lover huffed at that, squeezing her tightly because he never saw her as a mere maid to do his dirty work. He'd been hers from the moment they met; it just took him a few years to grow some balls and ask her out. 
"That's 'cause I always wanted to give you my last name, sweet girl. (y/n) Manchester--it has a ring to it, right?"
"Mhmm, most definitely, Raymond," the heroine smirked, feeling his fingertips brush over her left hand, where her engagement ring would be if they weren't in uniform. Whilst Henry was busy popping a gumball, Ray kissed her again, feeling extra touchy for some reason--maybe it was from how his head spun at the thought of finally calling her his wife. Soon. 
"Let's get this over with," Henry sighed, dashing over to the tubes, where the couple separated and straightened out. Ray would've preferred a little longer, but (y/n) hummed and told him to focus; the sooner they snipped the ribbon, the sooner they could go home. 
"My last name is--"
"And I've already stopped listening!" The hero interrupted Charlotte as she made a last-ditch attempt to tell them the truth, but one mention of going home and cuddling in his ear, and Ray was a goner. Slapping their belt buckles, the boys stood straight as the tubes descended around them, (y/n) holding her fiancé close. 
"Play us out, Schwoz!" She called over her shoulder, making the genius immediately hop to his feet. Placing his fingers over the polished valves, Schwoz blew hard into the brass, playing soft, slow jazz for the heroes to leave by--a running joke between them. 
"Up the tuuuuuuuube..." they sang together, causing (y/n) to giggle as the powerful air blew them upwards, leaving Charlotte alone with Jasper and Schwoz to see if they knew who she was. After so long, they should've known her full name, but also, she should've realised how dumb they were. 
After all, everyone knew who Charlotte Page was--or at least (y/n) learned from the first day she signed her paycheck. Five very short years ago...
~The Escape Room~
"Y'know, we've been to a lot of grand openings, but I don't remember any of them being as quiet as this," (y/n) said as she followed Ray into the building, Henry close behind her. 
She made a good point, one the boys quickly agreed with. It was strange; the minute they parked the Man Van, a foreboding feeling settled in her stomach, telling her something was wrong. Where was the fanfare? The screaming fans? The paparazzi? 
She didn't need her gut when they saw how deserted the building was, with no one outside or in reception to greet them. They listened to her worries, thinking the same as Ray put away his giant scissor, no ribbon to cut, but he kept an open mind. 
"Yeah, it's weird, sweet girl," the hero nodded, going in first with his sidekicks behind him in case something was wrong. He trusted her judgement but tried not to let it dampen his spirits as they explored the mysterious establishment, observing the fancy decor in the dimmed lights. 
"Anyone here?"
"Knock, knock, it's us!"
"Helloooo?" They shouted as they entered what they assumed was the main room where people played to escape. Twirling the enormous blades in his spare hand, Ray's face fell when he saw no one, not even Piper. He only did these things to boost his ego; what was the point if no one took his picture?
"Superhero and two sidekicks! Looking to murder a grand opening ribbon!"
"So said superhero can inflate his head..." (y/n) joked, ducking when her lover threatened to tickle her again. Ray couldn't help himself, silencing her sassy mouth with his own, and she didn't mind because there was nowhere safer in the universe than in his arms. 
Pecking his lips with a soft smile, (y/n) pulled away. She glanced around the room, observing how the furniture was perfectly polished. Still, some large objects had dust sheets spread over them for some unknown reason, which struck her as strange because the place was meant to open today. Why were they still covered up? 
"Maybe it's the wrong escape room," Henry suggested as he watched the woman pace back and forth, wondering what was going through her head. 
"I don't think so... We've got the correct address and date..." (y/n) Replied, thinking out loud as she racked her brains for a solution that didn't involve her nerve-filled tummy. However, as she tried to remain levelheaded, Ray was thinking too, taking two and two out of nowhere and putting them together. 
Wait... An empty room. A fake call-out. His friends mysteriously nowhere to be seen. Dimmed lights. Oh, those darlings - they shouldn't have...
"Is this a surprise party for me?!" He gasped, eyes sparkling as he looked at his sidekicks, who instantly melted and sighed at his assumption. His very wrong assumption from a tendency he'd picked up after his sweet girl's surprise birthday party. He'd loved organising the day for her, and the pure joy on her face enamoured him with the notion. And her. It made him fall just a little bit more. 
"Oh, no, Raymond. Don't do this again..." (y/n) begged him, trying to placate him before his imagination run wild, but it was too late. She and Henry were too busy to plan an unnecessary party, but Ray was already grinning and lacing his fingers through hers. 
"This is a surprise party, isn't it? Oh, you perfect little sweetheart..."
"No. It wasn't a surprise party at that empty gas station, it wasn't a surprise party at the bathroom store, and it certainly wasn't a surprise party at my grandmother's funeral," Henry replied sharply, shuddering at the memory. 
A few months ago, in summer, on a sweltering day to be wearing black, Henry looked sombre and mournful as the coffin lay before his entire family. The vicar said some sad, respectful words about her long life as his sister updated her story - lol funeral tings rip tfw ur grandma dies fml xD - when Ray burst into the service, dragging a karaoke machine behind him after catching wind of his sidekick taking a few hours off work. 
"Yeah, that was the saddest surprise party ever," the man remarked, remembering how no one was laughing when he kicked the doors in and started singing. Some people even cried - sobbing harder when he asked who'd died after seeing their glum faces, only to realise someone had died. 
"That's 'cause it wasn't a surprise party, you big doofus! It was embarrassing! You sang Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go at a wake!" (y/n) exclaimed, the same burning heat returning to her cheeks at the memory of how she had to drag him off a buffet table before he moved on to Stayin' Alive. 
And the worst bit was how he laughed. Ray thought the irony was hilarious, pulling her close and chuckling at that tiny mistake, disregarding how she had to grovel to Mrs Hart for her fiancé's behaviour. Nothing could compare to the humiliation, but someone finally emerged before she could whack the smirk off his face - luckily for him. 
"Hello?" A soft, feminine voice called out, bringing the grin back to Ray's face since it cemented the idea in his head that they'd finally made his wishes come true. 
"Ooooh, first guest! I won't tell them you told me!" He promised, patting Henry on the shoulder as he moved to stand beside him, pulling (y/n) along too. His surprised face was ready to go, having practised in the mirror when he was shaving, much to (y/n)'s exasperation. 
"What are you--doofus, I swear to god--"
"Surprise!" Ray shouted as Piper entered the room, sporting her newly cut hair and an outfit worthy of the President of The Man Fans. She'd tired of her long hair, so now it was sitting just above her shoulders, which (y/n) thought suited her, but then, two others followed behind her. 
"What?" Piper frowned, wondering what he was talking about, but the heroine was more concerned about the kids following her. One was a girl, younger than Piper by a couple years, with a bright grin and big, pretty, brown eyes. She wore a trendy outfit and looked a little lost as a boy tailed behind, who (y/n) assumed was her relation, given how similar they looked - the same big, expressive eyes. 
He was the same age, his hair tied back in braids that fell past his shoulders and soft cheeks that looked like any grandma would love to pinch. They looked like lovely kids, but Miss Danger couldn't understand why they followed Piper to an escape room. 
"Oh my god, is this a surprise party?" The girl asked in a high-pitched, enthusiastic voice. 
"Yes!"
"No!" Henry and (y/n) quickly shut down Ray's answer, but then, the boy spoke, almost as eager as his companion as Captain Man struggled to stay still from his excitement. 
"For you?"
"Yes!"
"No!" The woman said firmly, squeezing the man's bicep to try and get it through his thick skull. He wasn't getting a surprise party, not until his birthday or an occasion that deserved the time, effort and money, and she didn't care how much he whined when she was reading, working, or trying to sleep. 
"This is Gammy's funeral all over again," Piper murmured to her brother, who agreed with a solemn nod. It was still talked about at the dinner table - how his boss was the weirdo who interrupted an elderly woman's sendoff - and (y/n) didn't show her face near his house for weeks after. 
"We didn't bring you anything, but give me five minutes, and I'll bring you a better present than Becky could ever even think of!" The girl insisted, appearing a little scary with her intense confidence, but the sentiment was there. 
"Who's Becky?" (y/n) asked, frowning at the mention of the unknown girl, but she got the feeling that the girl was just like that - keen, passionate, and ambitious. She was like that when she was younger, before a few years at high school and college knocked her confidence. 
"Exactly!" She grinned, feeling her tummy flutter when Miss Danger giggled at her antics. It took all her strength not to fangirl, having idolised her for years - the woman who not only tamed the untamable Captain Man but could build a rocket ship and kick butt. She was awesome and definitely not pinned up on her bedroom wall. 
"Hello!" Suddenly, a chipper voice called out from nowhere, making (y/n) jump into Ray's side as her heart beat faster. She wasn't expecting it, looking around for the source as Ray draped an arm around her shoulders, knowing it comforted her. 
"And welcome to Swellview's newest escape room! Please put all your phones and weapons in the box labelled phones and weapons."
"Weapons?" Henry echoed, looking nervously at the adults, one of whom seemed to share his concerns. (y/n) rubbed her forehead as she glanced at Ray, expecting him to get all broody and serious because her tummy was bubbling with fright. 
"Doofus, I don't think we should--" she muttered, not wanting to spook the children, but she wanted to hide in his chest and leg it, taking the kids away before something terrible happened, but the large man didn't seem phased. Whilst she resented the thought of giving up the tools they used to defend themselves, Ray's head was still spinning with the idea of a surprise party. What harm could it do to a unit like him?
"EVERYBODY, DO IT!" He announced, instantly taking the scissors from his belt as a starter. With Captain Man's approval, the two kids and Piper copied his actions, thinking he was the experienced hero, so he should know what's best. In went the scissors, their phones, lasers, blasters, radios--anything that classed as defensive or cellular went into a brown, sturdy chest, wrapped in flattened, golden metal to lock it tight. 
"Captain Man, I don't like this..." (y/n) whispered as she held her PearPhone, gazing longingly at the device since it was her only way of calling for help. And there was her laser controller, smooth and small yet so deadly - her preferred method of taking down enemies because it meant she didn't have to get too close. 
"Sweet girl..." Ray smiled at her gently, his hand finding the small of her back when he saw her hesitate, wondering if relinquishing her stuff was right. He was there by her side, kissing the edge of her shoulder, bringing a watery smile to her shoulder because he could be a real sweetheart sometimes. A massive doofus, but so very gentle with her. 
"I'm here, and nothing's gonna get through me. It's perfectly safe," he reassured her, carefully taking the items from her when she gave permission. The phone and weapon slipped from her fingertips and tumbled into the box, joining the others as everyone worked until their pockets were empty. Sort of. 
"Come on. I said, all phones and weapons," the mysterious voice said teasingly, making Henry, (y/n) and the two unknown children frown because they'd been truthful and sincere when cleaning out their pockets. But they saw Ray and Piper, who looked too sneaky and bashful to be deemed innocent, and then, they cracked. 
"You got me..."
"Okay..." they conceded with cheeky smiles, pulling countless phones and assorted weapons from various stashes on their bodies. Piper had four phones tucked into her socks, which were backups in case she got grounded or lost her main one, but Ray took the biscuit. 
He had smaller, hidden lasers, knives and bombs tucked under his belt, some still in their respective pouches, a machete stuffed down the side of his boot, and even ball and chain mace stashed down his pants. How he kept that hidden without showing any discomfort was beyond (y/n), who stared at his ass far too often not to notice he'd shoved it down there. 
"That's better. Now, move the box outside the escape room," the voice ordered, making (y/n) and Henry pause again because that did not sound like a good idea. More like downright suspicious. 
"Uh, this doesn't seem right..."
"I vote we keep the box in here."
"Yeah, I don't have a good feeling about--" the boy agreed with them, proving to have as good instincts as they did, but Ray didn't want to listen to reason, not when he was still in a dream world. 
"Shut up! It's for my surprise party!" He snapped at the startled kid before dragging the chest out the door by its lid. (y/n) sighed, knowing she'd come to regret letting him do that. 
"I apologise for...him. Unfortunately, he's a massive child," she told the children with a slightly sour smile, folding her arms as Ray pushed the chest away from the doorway, skipping back inside for the next phase of his "party". However, just as he passed the threshold, a ping sounded outside the room, and Piper knew that tingle-tingle anywhere. 
"One of my many phones!" She gasped, a wave of despair washing over her at the thought of someone texting her or something happening and she not knowing about it. There was only one thing for it; she had to go and check the notification. Despite the door slowly rolling down, the girl made a dash for it, ducking under the metal before it locked them in the room, much to the shock of her friends inside. 
"Uh, can you--can you let that girl back in?" Henry asked as the heavy door touched the ground, locking it in place. He hated to make a fuss, but he hated the idea of doing the escape room without his sister more - she'd whined for days. 
"No!" The chipper voice said, which the boy accepted, but he visibly deflated, looking upset when he realised Piper had missed out on a fun afternoon for a mere message. 
"Don't worry, kid. I'll open the door. I've got a key!" Ray told him, and it was like all of Henry's worries disappeared as he turned and booted the door. In fairness, Ray was a bulky, heavy guy, capable of bringing down any wooden panelling he came across with one mighty kick, but this was reinforced, well-welded iron. Even as he laid his sole flat against the door, it wouldn't budge; too sturdy to come down from just one bang, not even from Captain Man. 
"That's not how escape rooms work," the girl with the rainbow turtleneck said, seeming like a bit of a know-it-all as she set him straight, but she was correct. 
"Yeah, doofus. You have to solve a bunch of riddles to open the door. You can't just kick it down, no matter how big and strong you think you are," (y/n) added, moving to his side to squeeze his arm--to emphasise her words, definitely not because she wanted to cop a feel of his bulging muscles. She and this girl would get on very well - try-hards together, always there with the answer. 
"That's right!" The voice announced, still bright and cheery as he went on. "And the theme of this escape room is...REVENGE!"
Suddenly, all the happiness and pleasantness disappeared from their tone as one of the dust sheets fell to the ground. Underneath, a gigantic boxy device stood in the middle of the room, complete with flashing buttons, levers, wires, and gauges, making Miss Danger gulp when she recognised what it was. An engineering degree could be a real burden. 
"And that is a boomsday device..."
"Doofus, this thing looks real. Like, really real. It's got subatomic boron rods and fixirium wiring and everything," (y/n) muttered to her fiancé, gulping thickly as she pointed out several features that would be hard to fake, either from their complexity or rarity. She'd stake her future marriage on it being the real deal, not because she was a gambler but because she felt in her tummy. The tummy she wished she'd listened to. 
"That's because it is really real! Boomsday devices go boom, and you go bye-bye!" The voice said sinisterly, making the kids shiver at what they'd landed themselves in, which didn't escape Ry's notice. He wasn't outwardly the caring sort, preferring to play his cards close to his chest for fear of getting hurt down the line, but he had to think about them, his sidekick-turned-brother and, of course, his precious fiancée. 
"If that were real, my new boom-detecting boots would be glowing," he spat, trying to call the bastard's bluff, and he was a bastard. He could cope with someone hating his guts, but anyone who would forsake three innocent children and a genuinely divine woman was a psycho, and he wouldn't stand for it. 
"Are those your new boom-detecting boots?" 
"Yeah..." Ray nodded when the young boy asked, not knowing why everyone was suddenly staring at his feet. He'd requested Schwoz to give him the upgrade weeks ago, fearing getting caught with his trousers down, so to speak, and it made sense to be prepared, no matter how minuscule the threat was. But he'd never imagined needing them. 
"Because they're glowing," the kid said candidly, making Ray glance at his feet, where he saw he was correct. He had to hand it to Schwoz; the warning wasn't subtle, coming in the form of his boots flashing red from the rubber bottoms to the zippers up the sides. 
"Oh, would you look at that?" He remarked in shock, hopping around the room at how cool it looked, his marvelled face grinning at his sweet girl as she bemusedly sighed. Only he would play next to a boomsday device. 
"I think this escape room is real," Henry said, beginning to regret not listening to his instincts when they were giving away their weapons and phones. 
"Me too."
"Yeah..."
"See? This is why you listen to my tummy! I keep telling you--you listen to my tummy, and you'll live longer!" (y/n) exclaimed, pointing her finger at the boys, but mainly Ray since he'd charmed her with his sweet words and even sweeter lips--like he always did. Maybe it was her fault for being too soft, but he couldn't say he hadn't been warned, and now, they had two children to think about. Speaking of...
"Also, who are you?" She asked, trying to seem calm and friendly, but whilst she excelled at the latter, her nerves bled through her voice when she faced them. 
"I'm the smart one," the girl replied with a confident smile, making the boy gasp in hurt. 
"Oh, I know that feeling," (y/n) replied with a grin, the girls sharing a knowing look that only came from having intimate knowledge of being the cleverest person in the room, and for once, there was no shame in that. 
"Awkward..." Ray remarked, feeling for the kid who'd been marked down as dumb. He knew that feeling too, but luckily, he had the honour of being the smart one's lover, staring after her longingly as he marvelled at how brilliant his sweet girl was. 
"Seriously, though. What are you doing here?" His fiancée asked, oblivious to the enamoured man behind her, who looked away coughing when the children caught him staring, busying himself by returning to the impenetrable door. That was the moment they realised the extent of Captain Man's devotion to his loveliest sidekick and how he was very much the brawn of the couple. 
"Well, my mom and Aunt Didi have gone on a staycation, and there was no one else to look after us, so Aunt Didi said she knew a girl who'd not completed her community service, and she'd look after us. So, our aunt dropped us off with that loud girl, and she brought us here," the girl explained, skipping over the boring details, but all Henry heard was that his sister had tried to evade the law. Again. 
"Oh, God. Piper..." he sighed, closing his eyes and trying to quell any migraines surfacing, but it was hard for him and (y/n) to think when Ray was making such a racket. He kept bashing his foot against the door, pounding the metal every time he grunted and strained, and it was really starting to get to his sidekicks. 
"Doofus? Doofus? Doofus!" (y/n) called out, trying to keep her voice calm and sweet, despite having already told him that he wouldn't move the door in a month of Sundays. 
"Yeah?" Ray turned around instantly, having his listening ears on for his sweet girl only, eager to please her in any way he could. He looked like a meerkat, standing to attention the second she flashed him a winning smile and tenderly took his hand. 
"How about one more kick, and then you're done?" She suggested, treating him like the child he was right now - a man-child, one she happened to love very much. He'd only end up frustrating himself, leading to a tantrum, and she didn't want to see him like that, so she gave him a choice. 
"Two more?" Ray pouted, squeezing her hands as he tried to use his best puppy-dog eyes and push his luck, pleading to the side that loved him. Very much. 
"One...and a kiss," she said firmly before breaking out into a grin. Those terms sounded fair to him, and he happily took the sweeter part of the deal, gently pulling her close for his promised kiss. He hummed contently at her honey-like taste, lingering for a couple - or dozens - of seconds until he'd had his fill for now before pulling away for his kick--but not until he'd sneakily dived in for one last peck. 
"Heeee-yah!" He exclaimed, landing his foot flat against the door, but like all his other attempts, he was unsuccessful, and they still had no way out. 
"Better?"
"Mmm, much better..." Ray replied in a gravelly voice, abandoning the door to slink an arm around her waist, finding her lips again. He preferred this side of the deal, cupping her cheek as he delved deeper, wanting to drown in her sweetness, knowing he'd die a happy man. Until she pulled away with a tap on his cheek. 
"Done."
"Anyway...I'm Mika. This is Miles," the girl - Mika - butted in, not wanting to ruin Captain Man's fun, but they deserved a proper introduction. 
"And I'm not dying today. Just so you know," Miles added, coming across as quite a philosophical type, and (y/n) just knew they were brother and sister. She felt it in her tummy, which she was happily listening to now she'd been reminded how useful it was. 
"Oh, yes, you are!" However, the mysterious voice begged to differ, sounding eerily familiar with its irritating chirpiness and sing-song intonation. 
"Okay, who are you?" Ray asked, thumb stroking his sweet girl's hip as he kept her close. He didn't like whoever this jackass was, ready to claw his throat for thinking he could hurt a hair on her pretty head--and the kids', for that matter. 
"Why don't I just show you?" He suggested, clearly too eager to wait any longer. Suddenly, the second white sheet was pulled upwards from behind Miles and Mika, making them jump away for fear of being snuck up by the bad guy. 
However, when the heroes finally laid eyes on him, (y/n) realised he wasn't the bastard they'd shaped him up to be. Standing in a strange, box-shaped contraption was Jack Frittleman - an old face that hadn't been seen in a while due to a few incidents. However, the heroine couldn't forget him after the events that transpired many months ago. 
"Oh. My. God..." they said together, seemingly recognising his neatly groomed hair, glasses, and sharp suit, but apparently, his uncharacteristic frown put Ray and Henry off. 
"Sorry, no idea who you are."
"Yeah, you're not lookin' too familiar," the boys mumbled, trying to place the face, but it wouldn't come to them. (y/n) stared at them in shock, much like the stunned businessman, wondering how they could forget when they'd had so much trouble with him. Should she remind her doofus of when he placed a chaste kiss on her hand and took it as a threat? 
"He's Jack Frittleman, doofus. Kid, do you seriously not remember?" 
"Uh...does not..."
"...Ring a bell," they shrugged. Anything that happened before last week didn't matter anymore; Henry had bigger things to think about - girls, school, hero work, and stuff - whilst Ray just had to kiss her and forget the world around him. He was more concerned about the future - getting married, having children, and a cute 'lil house in the country. The whole works. 
"You blew up my factory!" Mr Frittleman exclaimed, disgruntled by their forgetfulness when they'd ruined his life. Although he didn't know the extent of it, making (y/n) blow out her cheeks and avoid his gaze. 
"Gonna need ya to be a little more specific!" 
"Yeah, we've blown up a couple factories," Henry giggled with his boss, recalling all the antics they'd gotten up to over the years. All the explosions blended into one; once you've seen one disaster, you've seen them all, but Jack didn't see it that way. 
"The Frittle Chip Factory!" He clarified, spitting from frustration, but it finally came flooding back to the boys, who remembered something along those lines. That was back before Henry's final growth spurt, making (y/n) feel broody and teary at how quickly her boy had grown until Miles piped up. 
"Wait--didn't that happen a few seasons ago?" He asked, having watched the news footage when it happened. It seemed so long ago...
"Yes! It was fall. And on that crisp, autumnal morning, there was a contest to find your favourite Frittle. My beautiful factory was making Frittle and money at an astronomical rate..." the man said, casting their minds back to when Ray and Henry fell out over which Frittle flavour was superior. Red or blue - it came down to the wire, and that's when they accidentally overloaded the production line. The explosion tore the place apart, leaving nothing more than a husk and a furious Miss Danger behind. 
"You blew up this guy's factory?" Miles gasped as Mr Frittleman sobbed, the memory too painful, still imprinted on his wallet after his share prices plummeted. 
"Yes...um, well...two, actually. No thanks to these doofuseseses!" (y/n) exclaimed, glaring at the boys as they chuckled sheepishly. Now that she mentioned it, Henry remembered the second incident--and how her current fury matched that of then. 
"That's right!"
"You were the ones who blew up the second factory too?!" Jack asked angrily, lips curling up in a snarl because he'd always thought he had terrible luck, shoddy workmen, or had befallen a genuine accident. But, apparently, he was cursed with three superheroes with nothing super about them. 
"Uh... In our defence, we accidentally did it for the best of reasons," (y/n) replied bashfully, recalling how they'd nearly lost Henry to Bordertown after his dad landed a new job. They never meant to cause such damage, but Captain Man couldn't lose a sidekick or brother, so unfortunately, the newly rebuilt factory had to go. That's just how it went. 
Looking back on it, the incident was funny, making Ray and Henry snigger amongst themselves like two hyenas. It wasn't the most graceful impression they could've given, leaving the resentful man seething and bitter at how they took his livelihood from him - twice - and never faced any justice or guilt. 
"Oh, that's it! I'm definitely blowing both of you up now! And Miss Danger! She was there too!" Frittleman hissed as the woman tried to hush her companions in vain. They couldn't contain their bemusement, making him want to take his revenge twice over, and he'd start by taking the prettiest of three and making the others watch as he tore her to pieces. Like Ray would ever let him get that far. 
"Watch it, buddy..." he growled, curling around his sweet girl protectively after hearing the man's threat. He'd tear him limb from limb before that happened, not that (y/n) felt afraid. Jack Frittleman was rather short, and she was so very tall in her sharply heeled, metal boots. 
"Wait, wait, wait, hang on a second! If you do that, won't you blow yourself up too?" Henry asked, holding his boss off before he tried to grab the man and snap him in two. That didn't sound very revengeful to him, more like suicidal. 
"Sorry, losers! This is a boom-proof box. While you go boom, ol' Jacky Frittle is gonna be just fine!" Frittleman sneered, firmly planting himself as their newest enemy when he rapped his knuckles against the glass box around him and smirked. 
"So, what? We just wait around here 'til the boomsday device goes off? Not very sporting, Jack," (y/n) remarked, folding her arms and leaning into her doofus, showing the man how unimpressed she was. She'd done this job for a long time and encountered many villains, and Jack Frittleman wasn't one of them. He was scorned, but hardly The Toddler, Doctor Minyak, or Dr--him. 
"Oh, no! I'm willing to give you a chance!"
"Thank you!" Mika smiled at his offer whilst (y/n) snorted, seeing it as a sham - a malice trap disguised as kindness. It was hardly generous of him, and Jack had an ulterior anyway. 
"But I want to see you squirm!"
"No, thank you..." Miles retorted flatly, refusing to squirm or give in to the psycho's demands. He wouldn't dream of giving their captor the satisfaction, but what choice did they have? The door was locked, and there was only one way out.
"Follow the clues, and you'll find the exit. But! You only have twenty minutes. After that, I press this button, and you go boom!" Mr Frittleman said heinously, reaching above his head to grab a whacky, chunky remote control with a big red button. It was connected to a load of wires trailing above his head, but the 'Smart Ones' didn't want to wait any longer. Taking the initiative, (y/n) and Mika began searching the room to find the first clue before they went boom. 
"All right. So, what's the first clue?" Ray growled, finding his smug threats irritating the more he smiled and snickered. He hated being toyed with, rejecting any villain's stupid games, but he had no choice. Play along, or lose his pretty girl - those were his options. 
"Well, the first clue's a real humdinger! But you won't find it--"
"It's this kazoo with a bell on it!" Mika quickly announced, picking up the small purple toy and making the silver bell tied to it jingle. The villain, heroes, and her brother looked over in shock because that was fast, but after a brief scour across the room, the girls quickly found it on the antique desk. 
"Yeah, hum...ding. Pretty easy, really," (y/n) shrugged, pointing out the pun hidden within the angle. It didn't test her brain very much - a mere warm-up - but Ray had to take a minute to work it out before swallowing thickly. Was he drooling? Quite possibly over his clever girl, making his heart clench with her omniscient smile. 
"Well, the next clue is--"
"It's inside this!" Mika interrupted, not needing Frittleman to spell it out. Blowing gently into the kazoo, she not only played a funny noise, but a small roll of paper shot out the end, landing on the carpet for her and Miss Danger to read. Honestly, this was like a dream come true--working with the best superhero in the city. 
"Okay, well, you got lucky on that one! But the clues just get harder," the man snapped from inside his box, not that the girls were listening. Mika picked up the tiny note from the floor, unfolded it, and glanced over the words, wondering what they meant.
"It's time for you to see the dentist..."
"...Oh, I get it!" (y/n) gasped, snapping her fingers as a thought shot into her mind, inspiration bursting to life in many colours. She instantly turned around, searching for something she'd seen during her hasty hunt moments before because it was the perfect place to hide a clue.
"Dentist! I never have to see the dentist 'cause my teeth are perfect! Riddle solved--let's get outta here!" Ray exclaimed, his vanity deluding any accurate deductions he made. It was true; he had a killer smile that wooed his fiancée the first time she saw it, but that wouldn't help them open the door--neither would his poor attempts to bust it down. 
"No, no, no, no more kicking! No more kicking, please. Kicking time is over. Remember what Miss Danger said, 'kay?" Henry told him, practically begging as he stepped between the man and the door. 
He didn't want to hear him try and fail to knock it down, having only just recovered from his last near-headache. He couldn't offer a sweet alternative like (y/n) did, but he hoped it would be enough to dissuade the man, who thankfully gave it a final halfhearted attempt before trudging away. 
Speaking of (y/n), she was so very clever. Walking over to a grandfather clock in the corner of the room, with Mika following closely behind, she opened the protective glass case. She wound the hands around the clock face until they were set to a specific time, knowing she was correct--she'd stake her job on it. 
"The answer is two-thirty!"
"Because it's time to see the dentist when your tooth-hurty," Henry realised, sharing an amazed glance with the woman as she nodded and applauded him. Even Ray couldn't pout anymore, his eyes softening at how she'd figured it out when his answer always came down to muscle and brute force. 
"Good one! You're so clever, sweet girl..."
"I know the theme of this escape room. Dad jokes..." Miles retorted dryly as Captain Man chuckled with his lover, nuzzling his nose against hers before capturing her lips. How he could be so affectionate at such a critical time was beyond the kids, but when Kid Danger shrugged, they assumed it was normal. That's what the gossip columns always said...
Having been told the answer - and with Miss Danger busy - Mika opened the clock's tower, the hinges creaking as she reached inside and found the next clue taped to the back panel. These were too easy. 
"We got this, Jack," Henry smirked at the grumpy baddie, who sneered at their rapid progress. 
"Yeah! Especially since he forgot to start the clock," Ray scoffed, chuckling as Henry turned pale and (y/n) dropped her forehead on his chest. He just had to open his mouth and stare at the timer above the door, which was still stuck on twenty minutes and would've remained like that if he hadn't tipped Frittleman off. 
"Oh! Thanks for reminding me!"
"Yeah..."
"Thanks for reminding him."
"Good job!"
"Oh, you doofus..." (y/n) sighed as the others scolded him, cupping his cheeks with a sad smile as he looked guilty. Frittleman pressed a white, glowing button on his remote and away the timer went, ticking down second by second. It wasn't his fault; it was his brain. He didn't think sometimes, and when he grovelled for her forgiveness, the woman couldn't help but feel no anger. Maybe it was just her...but he was adorable. 
"Okay, okay...this is bad, but not terrible," she told the kids, who narrowed their eyes at the clumsy hero, but they listened to her--silently agreeing that the added pressure was great motivation. 
"We still have twenty-ish minutes to go. Let's find the other clues before they hose us off the walls..."

Ten minutes later, the gang were doing well, much to Mr Frittleman's disgust and annoyance. He was helpless to distract or dissuade them, trying everything to point them in the wrong direction, but with Mika and Miss Danger doing the donkey work, his game was nearly over. 
They still had plenty of time, finding fun in the challenge as they moved on to the final clue, which involved four ducks. Four, very alive, very unruly ducks. The minute the birds fell out of the cupboard, (y/n) noticed that they had numbers taped to their white, feathery backs, instantly assuming they had to get them in a line, so that's what they did. 
She never thought she'd become a duck herder, but here they were. And it was more complicated than it looked. 
"Come on, little quackers. Keep waddling..." the heroine cooed as they ushered them into the middle of the room. It was challenging to get them to stay together, with one always wandering off to explore before they formed a line, and Frittleman wasn't helping. 
"No, no! Fly! Fly away! Like this!" He exclaimed, trying to get the ducks to misbehave, but with five people surrounding them, the birds were surprisingly compliant after a few soothing words. 
"Here we go..."
"Quack! Quack! Fly like Daddy! Like--no! No!" The villain groaned in defeat as the feathered creatures ignored him and settled down, sitting in a perfect string of yellow beaks and webbed feet. The sequence was revealed, lining up perfectly on their backs, much to his annoyance and the group's delight. 
"Okay, we got all our ducks in a row."
"No! Fly away, pretty ducks!" Jack yelled at them, but they didn't budge. Perhaps they were tired, or maybe, they were ducks - not the brightest creatures in existence, so they didn't pay attention, which Ray found hilarious. 
"Pfffft! Ducks can't fly! This guy's an idiot..." He scoffed, smirking at his sweet girl as she bemusedly shook her head, giggling at how certain he sounded. Frittleman rolled his eyes, refusing to be called stupid by someone as thick as him, who thought ducks had as much ability as a penguin. 
"Yes, he is, doofus..." she replied in an adoring voice, leaning up to kiss his cheek. Admittedly, Ray wasn't the brightest guy she'd ever met, but he had one thing Frittleman didn't; he was lovely, charming and sweet, whilst that bastard was no more than a creep. 
"It said seventeen-oh-one! That could be the code that opens the door!" Mika exclaimed, cutting through the couple's tender moment because they still needed to escape. Captain Man could do the kissy-kissy stuff later - when they hadn't been turned into jelly. 
Grinning at his sister's intuition, Miles scrambled to the door, facing the illuminated panel with several glowing buttons. He punched in the numbers - one, seven, zero, one - and like magic, the door slowly rolled up. Success. 
"We did it!" Ray announced with a pleased smirk, looking at Henry, who wasn't as happy. Of course, he was relieved they could finally go home, having beaten Mr Frittleman at his own game, but what had he and Ray done? Herd some ducks - that was about it. 
"Yes, but in a more accurate way, Mika and Miss Danger did it," Miles corrected him as he waited for the door to open fully. 
"We did it!" Ray growled, his tone adamant as he glared at the young boy. It was a team effort, right? The girls rolled their eyes together but said nothing, not wanting to start an argument when they had a clear exit--and Ray knew the truth deep down. However, when the door finally clanked open, there was a problem. A huge problem that made their smiles disappear. 
To their shock, there wasn't a room beyond the doorway, no reception or front entrance. Some miscreant had built a brick wall whilst the door had been bolted, leaving them trapped again. It was solid and sturdy, with hardened concrete, so there was no way to break through or go around, making the gang feel cheated. 
"Hey, man! What up with the brick wall?" Henry angrily asked Frittleman after tapping his hand against the stonework to ensure it wasn't a cruel mind trick. 
"Wow, well, I didn't expect you to solve all the clues, but just in case you did...I planned ahead and had my weapons guy, Dimitri, build a second wall out of bricks!" Jack cackled evilly, causing (y/n) to growl and storm towards his stupid boom box, wanting to give him a piece of her mind. 
"That's not fair!" She hissed, smashing her fist against the glass, but it was too strong and thick to break through. It could withstand a mighty explosion, so her strength was useless, much to the bastard's satisfaction.
"Well, neither is your little boyfriend blowing up my Frittle Factory!" 
"It was actually two factories, and everyone knows Captain Man proposed to Miss Danger on a yacht in the Mediterranean!" Miles corrected him in a smug voice, making Ray smirk at the guy in the box. It wasn't the truth, but he still loved hearing that others knew she was his and he was hers, even if people thought they had time to live la dolce vita in the Med. 
"Not helping...and I've never been on a yacht in my life," (y/n) told the boy quietly, seeing how it infuriated the villain, and she didn't want him to remember how they ruined his life twice. Not that it helped...
"Sorry, boys, lady...and the two innocent children caught in my evil plan. Time to say goodbye!" Frittleman announced as he grinned crazily and signed his soul to evil. There was still time to salvage his dignity and reputation, but his revenge came above everything, so, to their horror, he returned to his big, red button. 
"No, no, no, no, no, no!" Ray and (y/n) bellowed, unable to believe he'd push it with the kids in the room. Mika and Miles thought he was bluffing until the couple screamed and ran to the younglings in the room. 
The woman wrapped herself around Henry, praying her super-regeneration would be enough to save him from the blast, whilst Ray gathered the brother and sister in his arms, knowing his indestructibility would save them, no matter what. He wished he could've sacrificed himself to save everyone - his sweet girl.
"Nooooooooooo...what?" However, death never came. The couple held the children until the end, bracing themselves for heat, a shockwave, debris--anything, but the boomsday device didn't explode, much to everyone's confusion. 
Instead, a second timer emerged from behind the control panel, highlighting that whoever made it gave them five minutes to live before their impending doom. How generous. 
"Gosh darn it to heck! I told Dimitri I didn't want a timer!" Frittleman exclaimed frustratedly, having readied himself for destroying his enemies and whatever goodness remained in his heart. He snatched the phone out of his pocket and pressed it to his ear, ready to give his minion a stern word for ruining his big moment. 
"Hello, Dimitri? Yeah, I'm calling about the boomsday device...I'm sorry. How are you, Dimitri? How's Michigan?" Apparently, he'd hired a very touchy guy, making his enemies glance at each other awkwardly as the businessman was forced to exchange pleasantries whilst they waited to go boom. 
"Yeah, I'm calling about the--No, I don't want to talk to the dog. I'm in the middle of a revenge plot!... Hi, Nibbles. Yeah, I miss you too..." he said through gritted teeth, visibly annoyed that his weapons guy wouldn't listen to what he was saying. But the longer he took, the better the heroes would be, meaning they could work something out. 
"I vote we don't wait for him and Nibbles to finish their Mensa meeting. There has to be another way out!" (y/n) exclaimed to her huddled friends, who nodded confidently as the boomsday device timer ticked down. They'd lost nearly a minute already - those seconds were precious - so without another thought, they split up. 
The team practically tore the room apart, pushing antiquities and doohickeys out of their way to check for a secret door, vent, air duct, mouse hole--anything that could help them escape. (y/n) and Mika even tried to hot wire the door mechanism, fiddling with the wiring whilst Ray reverted to type - brute force and kicking down the brick wall. And everyone knew how well that worked. 
"So, when the timer reaches zero, it'll blow up?" Frittleman asked his henchman once he'd finally returned to the phone. Meanwhile, Henry examined some knickknacks, discarding them when he realised they were useless. 
The only person relaxed and calm was Miles, who'd found a deliciously comfortable armchair in the corner, which he deemed the perfect place to sit and solve his Rubik's Cube. He wasn't phased at all, much to their confusion.
"Okay, well, have a great time in Michigan, Dimitri. I love you too, boo. Okay! Good news, bad news. The good news is Nibbles is loving his vacation. The bad news is they won't be back from Michigan until Tuesday. Unfortunately, you won't be around to meet them."
"Wrong, Frittleman! I'm indestructible, and my incredibly hot fiancée has super-regeneration. And we can't wait to meet Nibbles!" Ray snapped in reply, glaring at the man as he cowered in his box. (y/n) squeezed his hand, glad to stand by his side, but their superpowers wouldn't be much of a blessing if they ended up with survivor's guilt. And she didn't want to see some asshole's crusty dog, either. 
"What about us?!" Henry asked indignantly, feeling quite vulnerable and squishy at the thought of being blown to bits, something his boss had seemed to forget was possible. 
"Well, I'm sure you can meet Nibbles, too. He sounds like a good doggie--"
"Captain Man, don't be a doofus all your life! He's talking about how they're not indestructible, and they sure as hell don't have my superpower, either. Okay? These kids are really freaking out!" (y/n) hissed, trying not to worsen the situation by making things look hopeless, but poor Mika looked so worried. And their past mistakes were going to get her and her brother killed.
"I'm good!" Miles argued, though, calling out cheerfully from the shiny, silver armchair as he fiddled with the cubed puzzle at his fingertips. 
"Yeah, why aren't you freaking out?" Henry asked, watching as the boy relaxed into the plump cushion, more bothered by a particularly stubborn red tile than anything Jack Frittleman was doing. 
"Because I'm on the path to greatness."
"What?"
"Yeah, what?" Ray and Henry frowned whilst (y/n) looked at Mika for answers, wondering if he was always like that. He sounded like a mystic nutjob, but just looking at him, you wouldn't think he was into that stuff, making the boys feel like he'd been hit on the head. 
"He read it in a cookie."
"A fortune cookie!" Miles argued with his sister, hearing the tiredness in her voice. It was always like this with her; she just didn't understand. "It said you are destined for greatness. So, that's my destiny."
"So? I once read a fortune cookie that said your hair will fall out, and your love life is about to change! I mean..." Ray asserted, writing the fortunes off as mumbo-jumbo because he had thick, luscious locks and was determined to stick with his sweet girl for the rest of his life. No two-bit cookie and a shitty strip of paper would tell him otherwise. Miles, on the other hand...
"And that's your destiny!"
"You wanna step outside, buddy?" He growled at the boy's words, rushing to pin him against the wall for saying such blasphemous words. No one got to judge his perfect hair or girl; both would stay with him for the rest of eternity, and some boy wouldn't change that. His precious fiancée - what would he do without her?
"Hey, hey, hey, doofus! He's just a kid--it doesn't mean anything! A cookie isn't going to take your hair. And I'm certainly not going anywhere, okay?" (y/n) exclaimed, dashing in to push him back before he laid hands on the kid. With her in his arms, Ray couldn't do anything, too focused on how she held his cheeks and pulled him in for a kiss - her promise that she wanted forever with him too. 
"I refuse to let a cheap, shitty cookie dictate my love life, doof..."
"I know I'm on the path to greatness. Just like I know that if I fall, someone will catch me," Miles said, refusing to agree with Miss Danger. Whilst she relied on science and logic to guide her, he believed in all that astral shit, spirit guides and the stars - all the stuff that decided his horoscope. 
"What? What?--You're falling right now!" Henry frowned, wondering what he meant by that when the boy's body started to drift. It was like he was about to faint, but he wasn't ill, simply ready to hit the floor as his centre of gravity shifted, tipping him off his feet. It would've been a painful landing without Kid Danger, who grasped his shoulders and steadied him before he properly fell over. 
"See? I don't worry about anything. Ever," Miles smiled coyly as Henry realised how he'd tricked him. 
Of course, he couldn't just let the kid fall, but that's precisely what he wanted him to do - to catch him. Well, he'd see about that. Unimpressed, the sidekick tossed the boy to the floor, refusing to hold his body any longer, meaning Miles hit the rug with a bump. Not something he expected on his so-called path. 
"Uh...still on my path..."
"So, what are we gonna do about this boomsday device?" Ray asked, tired of the fooling around as Mika giggled and her bother got to his feet. Need he remind them that the timer was still active and getting closer to zero? Maybe the boy wasn't worried, but he was - he fancied making it home that night. 
"Nothing! Ha-ha..." Mr Frittleman laughed maniacally, taunting Ray, making his and Henry's jaws clench because, currently, that was what it looked like. They had no ideas, weapons, or way out, and a kid who was intent on lying back and waiting for the universe to sort it out. 
"Someone will figure something out... Probably Mika and Miss Danger..." Miles shrugged, returning to his comfy chair as he watched the girls fiddle with the boomsday device. The heroine had the technical knowledge, and the younger girl had her youthful innovation, so they made a good team. 
"Guys! I think we just figured something out!" 
"My goodness, what a surprise!" The boy gasped as he solved the cube, and Mika grinned, bouncing on the spot next to Miss Danger at what they'd found. It wasn't much, but she thought it would work, not that they could let Frittleman know. He had eyes and ears on everything they did. 
"Everyone, come over here. Huddle up," (y/n) ordered, gesturing for the group to gather around the explosive device, much to Jack's suspicion. 
"No huddling up! And no whispering!" The villain shouted at them, not that he could order them about. The heroes and kids whispered away anyway, forming their plan so quietly he couldn't hear them, and he didn't want to leave his box's safety to find out what they were up to. 
"Oh, if you guys start agreeing with each other..."
"Okay, yeah, yeah!"
"No! Stop! Stop right now!" Frittleman whined when they nodded together, clearly forming some plan, and he wasn't any wiser about what it was. Still, it surely wouldn't work, not when they had less than a minute on the clock, but he underestimated who he'd trapped. 
Using everything she'd ever studied and all her years of experience, (y/n) poured over the machine, inspecting every nook and cranny of the boomsday device so she'd know what they were dealing with. It was pretty simple - as simple as weapons of mass destruction get - but if they wanted to stop the timer, she'd have to work quickly. 
As the numbers fell to fifty seconds, the heroine spotted a solution hidden behind a metal panel, but when she tried to get close to it, a magnetic field zapped her poor pinky. 
"We need something to cut this gold wire!" Mika exclaimed, seeing the problem when Miss Danger tried to touch the cable. She'd be all right - Miss Danger always was - but that wasn't true for everyone. 
"Just pull it out..." Henry shrugged, reaching to grab the wire and end the explosive thing once and for all--until a hand grabbed his wrist and pulled him back to safety. 
"No! It's electrified. You'll be fried--" (y/n) warned him, not wanting him to get electrocuted, but she forgot the invincible doofus beside her. Ray scoffed at the idea of electricity beating him, believing himself stronger than anything nature could create, especially with his indestructibility. Anything to impress his sweet girl, even though she preferred if he kept himself safe. 
"Nothin' the old Man Mouth can't fix. Step aside, darlin'--fire in mah hole!" The hero exclaimed, pushing his darling fiancée behind him so she was away from any danger.
Before (y/n) could scold him for being so reckless or for using his annoying habit of calling everything "Man", Ray bent over the boomsday device, biting down on the wire with his pearly whites. His fingers would've worked just as well, but there was no fun in that, even as it zapped and sparked through his face, making it tingle. 
But Ray's sacrifice wasn't in vain. Despite the minor, fleeting pain, he managed to terminate the box's signal, ending the timer as the screen flickered and flashed red. 
"I'm okay!" He exclaimed through gritted teeth, clutching the wire between his jaw as (y/n) cupped his face. She pouted at how stupid a move it was, hating how the lightning tickled his cheeks, but he didn't let her scowl for long, spitting out the small piece of metal to share a sweet, brief, victorious kiss. 
"Oh my geez, it worked!"
"Oh, yes!" The kids grinned brightly as the device powered down, much to Jack Frittleman's disappointment. 
"Nooooo! How did this happen?!" He whined in disbelief, wondering how such lowly, unintelligent peasants managed to outsmart him. The villain was so disgusted that he unlocked the boom-proof box, pushing the door open to inspect their ingenuity. He wasn't thinking, sneaking over to bend over the console, but that was just part of their plan. 
"Wait a minute..." Jack mumbled, frowning as he turned his back on the group and took a closer look at the wiring because now that he had inspected it, there wasn't much damage. If anything, the wire they'd pulled was obsolete, essential to the timer's screen, but not the actual boomsday device.
"You didn't disarm it. You just cut the wire into the timer display," he said, grabbing the wire ends Ray bit through and holding them together. The electricity jumped the gap, meaning the timer flickered to life again, showing they only had twenty seconds until the detonation. 
"Ha! You idiots did nothing! This device is still live!"
"Yeah, we know..." Henry replied smugly, feeling quite cosy, if a little squished, as he, Ray, (y/n), Mika, Miles, and four ducks packed into the boom-proof box like sardines in a tin. Frittleman slowly looked over his shoulder, terrified of where the sidekick's voice was coming from, and he felt his heart sink like a stone when he saw them in the only safe spot in the room. 
"But now we're in the boom-proof box!"
"And you're out there with the boomsday device!"
"Who's the idiot now?" (y/n) smirked with the brother-sister duo, feeling quite smug as she pressed back into her doofus. Having his hard, muscular body behind her was more delicious than she cared to admit, practically purring when he growled contently in her ear, even if they had to put up with the smell of duck. 
"We'll see you again, Frittleman--when ducks fly!" Ray exclaimed, cradling one of the white birds in his arms as they all laughed at the villain, the timer quickly plummeting to zero. He'd prefer to hold his sweet girl, the feathers tickling his nose, but he had her small form against his, her hips pushing back into his, so he'd managed. Maybe. 
"Oh, Frittles!" The villain spat, feeling like every other bad guy who crossed Captain Man and his sidekicks - useless, stupid, and a failure. As the timer reached zero, he rued the day he swore revenge, but his hate only worsened; too deep now to go back to the chirpy, cheerful, legitimate businessman he used to be. 
Frittleman was powerless as the boomsday device exploded, blowing out the windows, doors, and some walls in an intense inferno. He'd be put together again once they scraped him off the floor like Humpty Dumpty, but inside the glass cage, the couple held the kids safely. 
The fire raged around them, dust settling from the ceiling as the rubble settled, but they were okay, shaking from adrenaline. They'd live to see another day, unlike Frittleman, who'd secured himself an extended stay in Swellview Prison for such a heinous crime. 
Something told (y/n) that Frittle Chips were about to plummet in the stock market. 
~The Man Cave~
After such a long afternoon, the bright, buzzing main room of the Man Cave had never seemed so inviting. 
Mika and Miles were safely returned home once they made it out of the building, retelling the tale to their Aunt Didi with boundless energy. The sceptical cop frowned upon hearing the news, warning Captain Man not to bend the law too much, not with her niece and nephew--something about too much paperwork. 
Ray didn't push it, telling the kids to eat their greens, stay in school, and forget what had happened. It would be better for everyone if they returned to everyday lives, as one brush with death was more than enough for one lifetime. Mika didn't seem convinced, excited after helping save the day, but what could she do?
She and Miles were just two ordinary children, not superheroes, something (y/n) firmly reminded them of. 
"Hey, good news. The hospital just texted me," Henry mentioned as the trio landed back in the main room. He got the feeling the lovey-dovey couple wasn't listening, too distracted by the duck Ray cradled, but he continued anyway. He wouldn't let a bird beat him. 
"They were able to reattach Jack Frittleman's face."
"Yeah, good thinking on your part to put that face on ice, sweet girl," Ray said, rocking the duck so it wasn't spooked. He watched as his fiancée cooed over the critter, tenderly stroking its curved head and soft, snowy back as a wave of broodiness came over her. Her doofus was so good at caring for it; the creature perfectly safe in his arms - who wouldn't imagine another scenario?
"Uh, doofus, that was actually Miles and Mika's idea. I was prepared to let Frittleman turn into pâté," the woman replied with a soft smile, not for Frittleman. She firmly hated his rotten guts now, but the kids' bravery made her strangely proud, knowing they might not have made it if it wasn't for their clever ideas. And the duck was cute. Really cute. 
"Who?" However, Ray wasn't so sentimental. He stared at her blankly, wondering what she was talking about as she stood there, looking all pretty and sweet whilst tittering over the animal against his chest. 
"Seriously, doof? The kids who helped us escape from Frittleman's trap?"
"Frittle, who?" He frowned, thinking hard as he tried to remember, but between leaving the so-called escape room and kissing her without any children watching, it was difficult. 
"Are you serious? Are you serious right now?" Henry gasped, eyes fluttering in shock at how moronic his boss was, but it was the end of the day. He honestly didn't have the energy or patience for any more shit.
"You know what? Whatever. Your brain's broken, but I gotta wazz."
"Yeah, me too," Ray agreed, having spent all day without bathroom breaks. What was a guy to do? He moved to follow the kid, wanting to make it to the bathroom first, but surely, it was first dibs. 
"I'm gonna go first. (y/n), tell him!"
"Well, I'm in charge here! Don't tug me! I'm holding a duck! (y/n), tell him!"
"Are you guys seriously fighting over a toilet?" The heroine sighed tiredly, raking a sluggish hand over her tired eyes as she trudged after them. She'd had enough of looking after children for one day, but it seemed they couldn't behave. 
"He started it!" The boys whined, pointing at each other to shift the blame. 
Ray tucked his feathered friend under one arm and swiped at Henry, who dodged and shoved him back, creating a mini skirmish between the hero and sidekick. They had to know who'd go first, even though it would be easier if they just took turns. Seriously, it would be over by now if they were patient. 
"I don't care who started it, I'll finish it!" (y/n) growled, whacking their arms as she strutted off to take a bath--anything to soothe her poor, aching body. The boys watched as she retreated, murmuring that it was the other's fault for upsetting her, even as the woman glared over her shoulder. 
"Honestly, if you two can't behave, I'll call Miles and Mika again and get them to help me. Who knows? After today, I'd say they'd make two perfect sidekicks..."

they're a bit surprised by the sudden deluge of conversation- but barely have the chance to be taken back before they grin, eyes lighting up with stars as they wag even more. "I'm glad he's been helping you! Hopefully that means you'll get to talk to a lot more people soon-" they nuzzle, adding in soft chips, "I know learning sign is tricky, but you're already doing really well. will you tell Mr Serpent thank you for me? It sounds like you found the perfect person to teach you!"
"I met your da and some of your sibs at your non's wedding to him- things got uh, really exciting, I'm afraid- so I don't think I got to meet everyone."
"please be careful being in too many places at once, okay? I never really learned to do that part very good. I'm sure Mr Serpent is helping, but-" soft bonks, and nuzzles, "im your grandmum, and i want you to be safe. you're still learning, okay? so try not to overextended yourself too much?"
"... he's been visiting Greylu and his sibs in their multiverse with his teacher. it sounds like he found the perfect person to help him learn to sign-" and maybe Serpent wasn't as scary a god as the other then... they didn't know how much of this the others would be able to follow, for a bunch of reasons, but we'll, only one way to find out-

Friends come and go, was what everyone always said and you didn't really believe them until you completely lost touch with your childhood best friend, Jiung.
You and Jiung had met when you were both only 5, your parents were good friends so it was only natural for you two to hang out when they hung out.
Jiung had seen all of your awkward phases, and he stuck with you through all of them, well that is until he moved cities without even telling you and that always made you think if you did something wrong or if he didn't want to hurt you.
That was 3 years ago, now you were a college student and you were very focused on your future, wanting to excell so you could have the life you always wanted.
You were very tired from all of the assignements, but you could finally rest as your college would give students a small two week break, and honestly it was just what you needed to relax.
You and your parents had planned to visit some friends in another city, but you didn't bother asking who they were, you just wanted a little get away.
"Honey, do you have everything packed?" Your mom asked as you went down the stairs of your house into the living room where your parents were waiting.
"Yes, I double checked everything!" You said as you reached the living room and sighed.
"You're gonna love these few days I promise!" Your dad said as opened the door for you and your mom.
"I'm sure I will, I really need to rest! I hope your friends are calm people!" But instead of answering, your parents just stared at each other with knowing smiles as they exited your house and locked the door.
You guys headed for the train station and in your mind was only the thought of how th house was gonna be and who were the friends you were gonna be visiting.
All those thought came to a halt when your mom called you to get on the train as it had already arrived.
You got on the train and let your mind run wild. Train rides brought you a certain nostalgia, because you used to ride the train with your childhood bestriend Jiung all the time.
But well, now that he wasn't here you couldn't hope for it to happen again. And besides that he just left you with no trace.
"Honey, hey, sorry to interrupt your thought, but I just wanted to tell you that we're almost there!" Your dad said as he gave you a small smile.
"Ok dad, thanks for telling me." You answered as you looked out the window and saw a field of flower. More specifically one that reminded you of your childhood with Jiung.
Flashback
You and Jiung were 10 years old and were just playing hide and seek in a field of flowers, somewhere you'd go to after school every friday.
"I'm coming!" Jiung said as he tried to look for you as you were hidden behind a bush. You were hoping he'd take longer finding you but he found you with no time.
"Got you!" He said as he laughed cutely and you looked at him laughing as well. "How are you so good at this?" You asked as you both sat down in the grass.
"I played a lot with my cousin last summer, so you better watch out." He said as he tried to look scary, but you just laughed.
You stood there looking at the field when you spotted a beautiful sunflower. "Look Jiung, how beautiful is that?" "It's very pretty! Wait a little bit!" He said as he stood up and disappeared for a few minutes, and when you were about to look for him he appeared with a flower crown made of sunflower and put it on top of your head. "There, now the flower is wearing flowers!" Jiung said as he giggled and booped your nose.

You were already tearing up at the sweet memory when you mom tapped your shoulder for you to exit the train with your parents.
This place looked oddly familiar, but you couldn't wrap your head around where you've seen it, so you decided to wait until you reached the house you were staying at to try and ask someone.
You arrived at the house and as soon as your parents knocked the door opened revealing a couple around your parents' age who welcomed you sweetly.
"And you must be their Child! You're so pretty!" The lady said as she pulled you in a hug.
"I'm sure you'd love to meet my son! He's around your age! TAEYANG!" She yelled with full force. And Taeyang? You were sure you knew someone named like that, but who?
The boy came down stairs and immediately recognized you as he hugged you and told his and your parents that he was going with you to his room.
"Hey! You remember me right? I'm Taeyang, Jiung's cousin!" So that's why you knew him.
"Oh! I do remember you! How are you? I haven't seen you in so long!" You said as you tried to get the conversation going.
"I'm great! Even better now that I'm seeing you! You've grown!" He said with a smile. You both kept talking for a while until he mention Jiung.
"So you're probably wondering why Jiung hasn't beeb talking to you or why he didn't tell you anything about the reason he was moving right?" He asked as he looked at you with his doe eyes.
"Well, yeah, but he probably wanted to cut me off no?" You asked as if it was obvious.
"Do you really think he'd do that? No, he's not like that, he didn't tell you anything, because he knew he wouldn't be strong enough to not break down when he saw you! It wasn't his best decision, but well it's done right?" He said with a conforting smile.
"I appreciate the information Tae, but why are you telling me all of this?" You asked as you were genuinely curious about this random outburst about his cousin.
"Well, I knew you were coming and I also knew about his situation, so I may or may not have invited him over for you guys to talk." He said so fast that if you weren't so invested in this you wouldn't have caught a word he said.
"You what? I haven't talked to him in over 3 years! Tae it's going to be awkward!" You said sounding desperate.
"Calm down! Everything is going to go well! And he hasn't changed! He's still the same as he was when he lived near you! The only difference is that he lives near me now!" Taeyang said in hopes to comfort you.
A few hours had passed and you heard the doorbell ring.
"Oh my god, Tae it's him!" You said as you nervously paced around the room.
"Calm down things are going to go well I promise! And he's gonna come up stairs. If you need anything shout, I'm going to be in the living room!" Tae said as he exited the room to invite Jiung inside.
You were a nervous wreck, but you were still curious about how Jiung would look now, probably more mature was your guess, and as he entered the room you realized your guess was absolutely right.
"Y/n" Jiung said as he ran in your direction and picked you up in his arms. You were so overwhelmed you started crying and you didn't miss the fact that Jiung also shed a few tears of his own.
"I missed you so much!" Jiung said as he let you down on the floor to look at you.
"I missed you too, but why did you avoid me? Why did you hide everything from me?" Although Taeyang had already given you the answer you still wanted to hear the answer from him.
"I was stupid and I didn't tell you because I knew that if I told you I wouldn't be strong enough to actually move, it would be harder so I thought it would be the best for the both of us, But I was so wrong! I missed you everyday!" He said with glossy eyes.
"Oh Jiung I missed you too!" You said as you teared up again and wrapped you arms around him.
When you guys both calmed down you went to the living room where Taeyang was staying.
"So are you guys ok? Are you friends again? Something more?" Taeyang asked as he said the last part softly so only Jiung would hear.
"Yes we're good now! But Me and Y/n are going for a walk, we'll be back before dinner." Jiung announced as you both went out of the door.
You were just catching up while walking until Jiung stopped at the flower field you'd seen while in the train.
"Wanna know something? I came here everytime I missed you badly, because this flower field really looks like the one next to your house!" Jiung admitted as he mitioned for you to come with him.
"Actually, when I was in train I saw this field through the window and I thought back to us playing hide and seek and that one time you made that flower crown for me." You said shyly as you weren't playing attention to Jiung's actions, but when you saw him again you noticed him walking towards you with a sunflower crown.
"Jiung, that's so cute!" You said as he put it on your head the same way he did when you were kids.
"Now the flower is wearing flowers!" He said just like before as he booped you nose.
"Oh my god, I miss when we were kids!" You said as Jiung sat down next to you.
"Yeah, I also miss living next to you! I was so sad my mom got a promotion, I just wanted to live near you!" He said as he scooted closer to you.
"Maybe in the future we'll be able to live close!" You said as the both of you moved backwards to rest your backs against a tree.
"Yeah maybe!" Jiung said as he gave you a knowing smile.
"Ok, I've been keeping this in for like 5 years so I need to let it out!" Jiung exclaimed.
"Go ahead Ji!" You said calmly.
"I like you, well, that's a lie. I love you in a romantic way. And honestly it's okay if you don't feel the same I just needed to tell you!" Jiung said as he was now blushing furiously and you think you were too.
"I actually love you too Jiung. I have since a few years now. And when you left I was so heartbroken, because I thought I'd never see you again." You confessed while looking straight in his eyes.
"But now I'm here and we could do something about these feelings, that is if you want to of course." He said shyly.
"I'd love to, but we're gonna have to do a long distance relationship." You said sadly.
"And what if I tell you we don't?" He said in a questioning way.
"What do you mean? We live quite far from each other." You said while confusion was written all over your face.
"I'm moving again! My mom found a stable job back in your city! We're gonna be able to meet everyday almost all the time!" He said and as he finished his sentence you threw yourself in his arms.
"Jiung that's literally the best thing you could've told me! I love you so much!" You said as you hugged him tighter and felt him kiss your head gently.
"I love you too, so much, you have no idea." He said as he looked deep in your eyes, grabbed your cheek gently and leaned in to kiss you, but before he could reach your lips he lifted his eyebrows as a way to ask for permission to which you granted by nodding and Jiung then kissed you softly.
You guys broke apart after a few seconds to make eye contact and you smiled sweetly at each other, a smile that showed your feelings for one another completely.
"I love you." You said as you smiled at Jiung.
"I love you too." Jiung said as he smiled and leaned in to kiss you again.

A week passed by and so far you and Baekhyun have been doing great. Your relationship was blooming slowly and strongly. Baekhyun have been nothing but a best boyfriend you could ask for.
That day Daniel got to knew about you dating him and he looked more happy than you as if he was the one dating him. You could understand since he has always liked Baekhyun and you asked him to keep it to himself for now as you have just started dating so you would tell your parents at the right time.
However, you know your brother and he being himself kept teasing you somehow at the dining table one day and accidentally blurted out infront of them.
Your parents were more than shocked to hear this news since they never expected you to date when you always have been annoyed about it but could you blame them? You were also getting used to this fact.
As they asked about him, Daniel and Ria both started with the compliments about him which caused your parents to want to meet him impatiently. You asked them to give you sometime as you don't want to rush things and being the understanding parents they agreed.
If you were feeling this happy then Baekhyun was on cloud nine. He was just enjoying every single moment with you and he couldn't be more happier to have you by his side.
Everyone was having lunch at the cafeteria as usual while talking about their day and you on the other hand were stuffing your mouth.
"Y/n, Are you running late or what?" Junmyeon commented staring at you confused and you raised your head with your stuffed mouth.
Your boyfriend beside you chuckled and leaned in before brushing his thumb over the corner of your lips. "Eat slowly, no one's gonna steal from you."
This is one of the things he has noticed since you both have started dating. You always eat fast as if your food will disappear but at the same time he found you cute.
You instantly cleaned the spot where his thumb brushed before giving him a sheepish smile.
"Dating has it perks." Minseok commented after watching you two being lovey dovey and you ducked your head a little hiding your flustered state.
"It's so weird to see you blushing." Ria whispered with a smirk beside you noticing your pink cheeks and you shot a glare at her.
"Anyway, Let's meet at the court in your free period so we can start our practice."
Everyone's attention was on Chanyeol and boys nodded while you and Ria stared at them confused.
"What practice?" You asked.
"Basketball. We're having a game again next week." Jongdae told and you nodded before looking at your bestfriend frowning.
"You didn't knew? How come?"
"Hey! I was busy okay."
You chuckled at her before everyone continued their lunch and left to their classes.
Mark was back and your dating news shocked him but was happy for you and Ria found a little bit suspicious since she thought he liked you but he instantly denied it saying he has crush on someone else and after hearing this your bestfriend couldn't keep her mouth shut and kept asking him about it.
You had no classes after this one class and Baekhyun took this opportunity to take you out on a date and before you could protest he cut the call saying he's coming.
You were shoving your belongings in your bag from the locker and at that moment, your bestfriend stood beside you with a mischievous grin on her face.
You looked at him suspiciously. "What?"
"Few days ago, you kept saying it's impossible for you to date and now look, blushing and whining to your boyfriend." She sighed. "It's so new to watch this sight."
You kept mum as you yourself were wondering that how your life turned like this? But however it was, you were beyond happy with it.
"It's been a week or so to your dating, so did two..." She wriggled her eyebrows teasingly.
You flushed and instantly flicked her forehead slightly. "What's going on in your mind, you perv!"
"Oh! Look who's blushing!" She laughed enjoying teasing you and you huffed closing the locker.
"What's happening?" You heard Baekhyun's voice startling you both as he stood behind you with his one hand resting on the locker before he leaned down to peek at you.
"What did you do to my girlfriend?" He questioned Ria noticing your red cheeks.
"I just asked her-"
"Nothing!" You glared at her and she nodded doing a zip mouth gesture while Baekhyun looked at you two suspiciously but shrugged it off.
"So, can I steal my girlfriend now?" He asked and you rolled you eyes while Ria just giggled.
"But I'm not ready yet." You slightly whined before he took your bag from your hand casually hanging over his shoulder as he took your hand in his where this little gesture of his made your heart flutter.
"You don't have to, you always look beautiful." He smiled booping your nose and you looked away biting your lips blushing.
"Ugh, don't do this infront of me! I'm still single." Ria complained, done with your flirting making him chuckle and then you two walked away before waving at her.
"I really didn't imagined this sight." Park Sooyoung, your classmate and friend spoke beside Ria startling her. "But they look really good together."
"I know right?" Ria smiled before looking at her. "And I love you for saying this. So, this big heart girl is gonna treat you something good."
"Wait-"
"No, waits and baits!" Ria slung her arm around the confused girl's shoulder as she led her outside.

Baekhyun drove a little far from your college then parked the car at the side and you two started walking on the sidewalk with your hands clasped together.
The weather was good and the sky was cloudy perfect for a little walk. You both were walking slowly in comfortable silence while giving a smile at each minute.
"I'm gonna go buy some candies, do you want some?" You asked spotting a shop at nearby and Baekhyun shook his head before you nodded going to shop.
"Don't call the shopkeeper by mom again accidentally."
You stopped on your track and turned around with a dropped jaw to see him grinning playfully while suppressing his laugh causing you walk towards him.
"You-" You threw a light punch on his stomach and he caught your wrist before giggling loudly making you instantly smile.
"Okay, sorry." He laughed kissing your knuckles and you blushed but instantly hid away as you sprinted to the shop with a smile.
Walking back to him, you began to eat your sweet candies in the small box and continued to walk until he started to eat too.
"That's mine." You complained noticing you had only two candies left.
"So what? You're mine too." He said casually shoving the candy in his mouth before walking and you stood there froze by his words.
"He did just not..." You muttered feeling your cheeks heating up and Baekhyun looked back confused.
"What happened? Why are turning into a strawberry?" He slightly smiled peeking at your cheeks and you put the back of your hand on your cheek.
"This is all your fault!" You whined walking ahead and he chuckled running to you before he wound his arm around your shoulder as you two walked ahead with you hiding your cheeks while he trying to peek at them.
Walking for an hour, you were enjoying your little date and then Baekhyun saw a arcade game section and you were pulled by him inside.
You were playing the Air Hockey game and the game was so tempting as both of you were trying hard to win and at last the puck slid in his side concluding your victory.
"Oh! Yes!" You exclaimed clasping your hands together smiling widely. "I win!"
"I have played it after a long time that's why I couldn't win." He reasoned out slightly pouting.
"Are you sulking right now?" You smiled teasingly.
"Why would I?" He scoffed before walking to the other game and you giggled internally as he looked too cute before following him.
You looked at him confusingly as he stood in front of the Basketball game machine. He smirked before taking the ball in front of him and looked at you.
"Let's have a game."
You couldn't say anything as he started to throw balls in the basket and you huffed before doing the same but were eventually losing while he kept getting every ball in.
"That's not fair!" You whined as the game was over and he won by the double score which caused him to smile proudly.
"You're a basketball player and I don't even know the basic." You complained whining crossing your arms, even though you know you shouldn't but couldn't help it while Baekhyun giggled at you whining cutely.
"Okay, stop sulking." He wound his arm around your neck tilting his head as he smiled cutely. "How about I treat you something delicious?"
You squinted your eyes at him. "Are you bribing me?"
"Is it working?"
"Unfortunately yes." You looked away couldn't say no to food and he knew it well you wouldn't.
"Let's go then."
You both stopped by a nearby small restaurant where you had pizza which was both of your favorite and then left for Café.

7:32 pm
You both waved bye to Rose as she drove off leaving you two alone. Then something popped in your mind and you stood in front of him while he looked at you confused.
"Can I have your car keys?" You held out your hand. "I want to take you somewhere."
"Hm? Right now?"
You nodded motioning towards your hand and he let out a nervous smile. "I'll drive there, you can show me the lead."
"No, please." You pleaded before sighing. "I won't cause an accident."
He sighed fishing out his car keys before placing it in your palm. "Please don't kill us."
You made a face before looking down at your hand and a smile crept on your lips seeing the Keychain you gave him.
Looking up at him with the same smile, you noticed his ear turning red and you smiled more before he rubbed the back of his neck and walked to his car.
"Come on." He opened the door for you and you got in before pinching his cheek lightly while he stood there flustered.
He palmed his cheek with a shy smile while biting his lip and walked towards the other side and sat in before witnessing you buckling your seatbelt without a problem.
"Wow, progress." He commented buckling his seatbelt and you rolled you eyes before starting the engine.
As you were driving you felt his stare on you since the time you have been driving which was kind of distracting you as it wasn't good for your poor little heart.
You took a quick glance at him. "Why are you staring at me like that?"
"Nothing, I just didn't knew that you driving a car would be this attractive." He smiled still staring at you with a smile and your stomach did a flip.
"If you don't want me to cause an accident, you should look forward or i'll get distracted." You bit your lip nervously. "Oh, I haven't informed Dan yet."
"It's okay, I'll do it." He started texting him and you sighed relieved as he took his eyes off you for a minute because you can't handle his stare on you longer.
You stopped the car as you reached your destination and got out with him before taking a hold of his arm and walked ahead.
Baekhyun was awed at the sight of bright city lights, stars shining up in the sky and the light breeze touching his face made him feel calm.
"It's beautiful." Words softly left his lips and you smiled seeing his eyes twinkling.
"It is." You whispered staring at him and he looked at you smiling fondly before you both sat on the bench facing the view with his arm draped behind you on the bench giving you perfect place to rest your head on his shoulder.
"How do know this place?" He asked leaning his head over yours before poking your cheek softly which is his favorite thing to do since he does this often.
"I wasn't feeling well, so I wanted to take a walk and then discovered this place and fortunately it wasn't far from home so, I came more whenever I felt down."
He hummed. "Wait- alone?"
You slightly raised your head to look at him. "You forgot? I have pepper spray and I punch really good too."
He laughed and you joined him before you took his hand caressing the back of his hand. "It's healed now."
He hummed nodding. "My Coffee bean treated it very well."
You were about to protest on the name but couldn't as he kissed the back of your hand making you blush and you looked ahead but kept glancing at him somehow.
"What's going on in that mind of yours?" He asked noticing before planting a kiss on your temple and you closed your eyes smiling.
Just like him, your favorite things were his forehead and temple kisses.
You bit your lip. "It's just doesn't feel real."
"Hmm?"
"I mean, I have always thought that your type was kind of girls opposite of me and I never really imagined us like this."
He smiled staring at you intently. "I like you for you and about types. I don't really have a type but now I know, you are my type."
You cringed. "Wait- did you just flirt with me?"
"Oh, you finally noticed."
You frowned before chuckling awkwardly. "Yeah, I'm kinda dense in that category."
He nodded casually. "I know."
You nudged his shoulder to push away but he pulled you back laughing.
"I thought it was your first time dating so how come you are good at this?" You asked genuinely confused and he shrugged. "What can I say? I must be talented."
You shook your head before something crossed your mind. "Um, can I ask you something?"
He nodded looking at you seriously and you pressed your lips together while scratching the side of your neck. "I... have heard your family is well-off so, I mean why are you working at the Café?"
You gulped wondering if you're prying too much and seeing his serious face, you were regretting now. "You don't have to answer if you're uncomfortable."
He slightly smiled. "You're the most important part of my life now, so you should know."
Your heart skip a beat hearing that but then you braced yourself for hearing him attentively.
He sighed licking his lips. "The day I joined the college, I decided not to live off my parents and started doing part-time jobs related to my major and got a decent earnings and did some savings too. But, my dad got to know about that and we had an argument. Well, he thought I can join his business even if I choose whatever major but when I strongly refused, the argument got bigger and I stormed out of the house."
"Then I saw Rose's Cafés add and decided to do it since my contract with my previous job was over and I also wanted to do something else. I didn't visited my home, until recently and that too because of you." He added as his corner of lips turned upwards in a smile staring at you.
You frowned. "Me? What did I do?"
He chuckled. "You probably don't remember but that day your words had an impact on me and I went to meet my family. Dad was on a business trip so, I... couldn't see him which I felt a little relieved because I felt guilty and couldn't face him."
Taking his hand, you stroke the back of his hand softly. "Hey, it's okay. We're all humans, so sometimes we let emotions take over us and we do things we don't mean to do."
You sighed as he looked at you listening attentively. "I know, I'm not in the place to say this but you see, parents tend to worry about their child's future. Take me as an example, my dad wanted me to help him on his business but I was never interested and I didn't wanted to force myself for it. I talked to my parents and made them understand and they supported me."
"So, talk to your dad for once and I'm sure just like me, he'll believe in you and support you. "
He stared at you intently surprised before a smile crept on his lips. He instantly engulfed you in a tight hug and you hugged back.
"In other way, I'm glad to be working at Café or else I wouldn't have met you." He said against your ear and you smiled before he pulled away to look at you.
Your cheeks heat up and let out a nervous chuckle. "What?"
His eyes boring into yours. "I just love the way you look at me."
You frowned. "How do I look at you?"
He smirked raising his one eyebrow. "The look where you can't look away."
You scoffed feeling cringed as you pulled away before realizing something as it felt familiar. "You watched dots too?"
"What's that?"
"Ah, nothing." You laughed and he frowned.
"Tell me!" He poked the side of your waist causing you squeal and finding your reaction amusing, he started tickling you and you kept giggling while your giggles made him smile.
"Stop!"

Delivery Boy
I literally forgot to post this 💀 Basically Flower Boy pt 2 but from Yeosang's perspective

For the longest time, Yeosang never believed in love at first sight. He saw it as a cheap way to keep children on the lookout for their soulmates. It was a simple myth. What if the person doesn't return your feelings? What if they've already found "the one"? All of it was absurd to him.
Yet that all changed when he passed by a small flower shop on his way to a delivery.
In reality, Yeosang could care less about plants so they surely weren't the things that caught his eye. As he made his rounds, parking his bike next to a tiny bouquet, he peered into the flower shop next door. Out of curiosity, his eyes lingered on it, examining its colourful decor and few customers through the glass. Though they were the last things to catch his attention.
With fluffy, brown hair and hazel eyes that sparkled like diamonds, Yeosang watched the small shopkeeper skip from client to client, providing his assistance wherever it may be needed. He just seemed so innocent. So adorable. So... "Cute."
"Yah! Delivery boy! Are you going to bring me my food or not?" The shout of his customer snapped Yeosang back to reality and he hastily scampered to deliver them their meal, apologising the whole way. That didn't stop him from glancing back at the flower shop though, a small grin forming on his face when he looked back at the counter where the flower boy stood.
When arriving back at the small restaurant he worked at, Yeosang's excitement didn't go unnoticed by his coworker, who was startled by the way he yelled when he entered the building. "HONGJOONG! HOLY SHIT!"
The man ahead of him was his hyung and one of the few people working at the restaurant. It was a small, family-run establishment, so there was not much staff needed to run it.
Hongjoong collected his breath after having the living daylights scared out of him by how the brunette had screamed but smiled regardless, quirking his brow with intrigue. "What an entrance. Everything alright, Sangie?"
"No. Not at all." The redhead watched the way his coworker slumped into the seat nearest to the front counter. Before he could ask what was so wrong, Yeosang beat him to it. Saying, "Have you ever laid eyes on someone so pretty that they make your heart beat fifty miles for an hour and you want to go in and tell them they what they've done to your poor body but are afraid they would look at you weirdly because this is the first time you've actually seen one another so it would just end up being awkward for the both of you? Have you ever felt like that Hongjoong?"
The older opened his mouth then closed it immediately, furrowing his brow and trying to see if he understood the waterfall of information that was just thrown at him. "No... No, I don't think I've ever felt like that..."
"I must be sick. Maybe I'm coming down with a fever?"
Hongjoong squinted at him. He was indeed turning red but he had a feeling it wasn't from a fever. So he just chuckled. "Looks like someone's got a crush~" He sang as he reached over to ruffle the younger's brown locks. Yet to his surprise, Yeosang seemed quite terrified by this notion, immediately smacking his hyung's hand away and looking up at him with wide eyes.
"C-Crush?" He stuttered out, looking oddly terrified. "I can't have a crush on someone! What if he doesn't like me? What if he thinks I'm weird? Oh god, I can't get married yet! I'm too young!"
The redhead was left with a loss for words. Married? What kind of Disney movies had this kid been watching? "Yeosang, just because you have a crush on someone doesn't mean you have to date them. Let alone marry them."
Yet Yeosang only scoffed. "You clearly don't get out enough."

Over the next few days, the only thing Yeosang could think of was that flower boy. It was almost annoying given how they had never even had a conversation before. Love at first sight didn't exist. It simply wasn't a thing. So why was he still on his mind?
Hongjoong had easily spotted his predicament, given how the restaurant wasn't very busy that day, giving the young brunette time to lounge around. Chuckling, he walked over to boop his nose, watching it scrunch up irritably. "What?"
"I'm going to do a delivery, I'll be back in a few minutes?"
Yeosang furrowed his brow, sitting upright. "Why so soon?" Hongjoong just shrugged, adjusting a bag on his shoulder with the food in it.
"I'm just going down the road. There's a flower shop over there, you know it? The owner ordered spicy ramen." Hearing that, Yeosang shot to his feet, his interest finally piqued.
"He likes ramen? I like ramen!"
"Yeah, everyone likes ramen." He laughed and made his way towards the door. However, Yeosang yelled something that kept him from leaving.
"I'll do it!" Now, Yeosang would never volunteer to do a delivery. Most days, he would rather be sitting behind the counter on his phone, scrolling through Twitter and avoiding any actual work. So hearing him want to do something made Hongjoong eye him sceptically.
Yeosang quickly caught onto this and couldn't risk him saying no. "Please, please, please!" Despite the fear in Hongjoong's eyes at hearing him beg for something, Yeosang was handed the bag regardless.
"Why do you want to go so badly? It's not like you to do your job..." His statement was ignored by Yeosang, who only focussed on shoving a hat on his head and a mask over his face. Hongjoong's expression turned bewildered to downright concerned when he put the sunglasses on.
Nevertheless, Yeosang left the restaurant looking like some sort of mad man on the run, ramen in hand. He trekked down the road, clutching his delivery like his life depended on it. The strange looks he received from civilians didn't bother him, as the only thing on his mind was entering that flower shop and meeting its owner.
His hand trembled around the door handle, reluctant to so much as graze it. Luckily, he wasn't given any more time to stand there like an idiot because the glass entrance suddenly flung open. Yeosang shrieked, nearly dropping the food when he jumped back.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I thought the door might have been locked, I'm so sorry for scaring you!"
There he was. The flower boy. He looked at Yeosang with wide, worried eyes that were so shiny he could have stared at them for days. Had the other male not started to speak, that was exactly what he would have done too. "Sir? Are you okay? You've been staring for a bit now..."
Yeosang almost squealed, yes, squealed, in embarrassment. Doing his best to save face, he hastily shoved the box of ramen in his hands, keeping his head down the entire time. Though his red face was covered by his mask, Yeosang swore to god he was so warm that he would have melted it right off.
As soon as the box was in the other man's grasp, Yeosang sped off. "Hey! What about the money?" He didn't care. He couldn't stand there a minute longer and risk imploding from the inside out.
Hongjoong flinched when the front door suddenly slammed open, with Yeosang running in soon after. "Jesus! You'll break the door! What happened? Did you get mugged or something?"
"Worse." He groaned. Slinking off to the counter, Yeosang fell against the object, a heavy sigh of dismay leaving his lips. "The flower boy... I saw his face... H-He spoke to me..."
The redhead, once concerned, smiled. "No wonder you wanted to do the delivery," Yeosang could be so dramatic when it came to his feelings. Though Hongjoong didn't mean to laugh, he often found it to be quite entertaining how much stake he would put on little encounters like this.
Once again, the entrance to the shop entered, although not as violently as before. "Hello?" The voice that had walked in said. It took less than a second for Yeosang to recognise it and when he did, he immediately ducked behind the counter. The customer had clearly noticed, but he was too quick to see exactly who it was, so he paid it little mind. "Sorry to bother you, but the person you sent forgot to collect his payment..."
His voice was so calming, so sweet. It made Yeosang's heart flutter, heartbeat speeding up the longer he was in the room. Quit it, will you heart? God, you're so extra...
"Ah, is that so? I'm sorry about that. Here, thank you for coming here." Hongjoong's foot tapped against Yeosang's side, his way of silently scolding him for his poor performance.
"It's not a problem. I hope he's doing okay, he ran off pretty quickly..."
"Don't worry too much, he's fine. Have a good day sir." They said their goodbyes and Hongjoong waited until the customer was out of sight to roll his eyes. "He's gone, Sangie. You can come up now." Yeosang let out a heavy breath of relief. His hand was resting on his chest to soothe his raging heartbeat with little success. "You're hopeless. You know that?"
"I am not! I was just... caught off guard."
"Uh-huh, yeah sure. Sang, listen, you've got a crush and from the looks of it, a ridiculous one. The store is just down the street, why not give it a visit tomorrow? Maybe give him your number?" Yeosang pursed his lips, hand reaching for his sunglasses, which Hongjoong was quick to slide away. "Without the sunglasses and get up, please. You look like a drug dealer."

So Yeosang decided to give it a try. Not without its fair share of trials, of course. He was still a socially inept twink, after all. There was no way in Hell he could just walk up there and ask for his number. Despite his hyung's encouragement, he remained reluctant for most of the day, too anxious to even leave the building.
Every time he tried to step outside, he saw another person walk into the flower shop. From a tall man pulling up a fancy, white Cadillac, to someone who looked dejected beyond repair. Why are there so many people going in today? Stay home, dammit!
Like the coward he was, Yeosang waited nearly a day to go across the road, despite how vigorously Hongjoong laughed at his shyness. There was so much anticipation built up in his head. What would he say? How would he react? It was all more stressful than it needed to be.
It wasn't until his hyung alerted him of the time, "It's nearly six, what are you still doing? He's going to close soon!" did he finally spring to his seat. Yeosang has spent much of the afternoon pondering over a note should his words fail him. Shoving the paper in his pocket, he sprinted from his seat, eager to not miss his chance.
He could see the flower boy getting ready to flip the 'open' sign to 'closed' and instantly quickening his pace. He flinched back and Yeosang's eyes went wide. As quickly as he could, he reached for the younger male's waist to catch him from falling in shock when he zoomed through the door.
Those eyes... So perfect it was unreal. Now that they were up close, Yeosang really got a chance to examine his features. His round cheeks, his bright eyes. Never had he ever seen such a pretty human being. "Are you still open?" Those were the first words to leave his mouth, only to prevent any more of the undoubtedly awkward silence.
The florist went silent when he untangled himself from Yeosang's grip. The most he did was silently gesture him into the shop and despite his lack of verbal response, the brunette still smiled and walked inside.
The shop was cute which wasn't much of a surprise given how sweet the owner seemed. Even if he didn't know much about flowers, all he was sure of was that they were pretty. "Do you know what you're looking for?" The shopkeeper inquired, or rather, whispered. Yeosang pivoted in his direction, moving towards him.
For some reason, the younger looked quite shaken, at least until Yeosang smiled. "You." He spoke, much to the florist's confusion.
Blush rose to his face, not going unnoticed by the older male. "M-Me? What do you..." Yet his speech trailed off when the brunette plucked a rose off the table, eyeing it carefully. Yep. That was definitely a flower. He had no clue what he'd do with it but he couldn't just leave without buying anything, especially not after his dramatic entrance.
So he placed the flower on the counter, deciding that he would be taking it. As the shopkeeper got his receipt ready, Yeosang fished through his pockets for the note he had written. He gulped nervously as his hands began to tremble at the realisation that he was really doing this.
Covered in a slick plastic, the rose was handed back to him. "Have a good evening, sir..." However, Yeosang had yet to move. All he did was take the gift in his hand and carefully wrapped his note around the base of it then placed it back on the counter.
The strange look he received vanished when Yeosang planted a soft kiss on his forehead. "Good night, flower boy." He said once he had moved away.
Yeosang didn't stay in the store a moment later. Though he may have exited calmly, you best believe he started sprinting all the way back to the restaurant once he was out of the florist sight.
"Holy shit... Holy shit!" He panted, desperately attempting to catch his breath, even though he hadn't run all that far. Hongjoong had just finished locking the doors it seemed and grinned at the sight of his frazzled coworker.
"I take it that things went well?"
Love at first sight was a fantasy, just a trick to give us false hope. It was something that Yeosang would have agreed with wholeheartedly just a few days ago but when his phone went off with an incoming message...
Hey delivery boy ❤
Then maybe he had started to believe in that supposed fantasy after all.

The first thing a yellow side notices is that his head feels like its being split open. The second thing is that he's laying on a very soft couch. And the third? The third is that he doesn't remember anything.
He makes a slight noise of discontent before opening his eyes, only to have five people swarm him. Talking to him very fast and keep trying to touch him. He tries to curl up only to be unable to move.
One by one the colourful people back away only a dark blue person stayed by him. His lips keep moving but it all sounds like its underwater. Only to clear.
"-us, Janus! Can you hear us?"
His voice is raspy but he manages to respond, "Who's Janus?"
The people seemed to not like that answer, he didn't know why but making someone upset makes him feel like he's in danger, the indigo side didn't react that much.
"You are Janus, that is your name. Do you remember us?"
Janus shook his head.
"Well, I am Logan, Thomas's logic. The red side is Roman, one half of creativity. Green is Remus, the second half of creativity. The purple one is Virgil, he represents anxiety. And the light blue side is Patton. Thomas's morality.
Janus seemed to be taking the information in. Thinking about that one name he said... What was it? Timothy? Tobias? Travis?
"Do you remember Thomas?"
Janus had to stop and think. Thomas... Thomas was their centre. I'm one of his sides. Janus nodded
Logan handed Janus a glass of water, helping him take careful sips. The water felt like heaven, it was cool and soothing. But the heaven was gone soon enough.
"Do you remember your function?"
He squeezed his eyes shut trying to remember. "Deception?.....Or was it self preservation? I- I can't remember."
Logan had a small smile on his lips. "You are correct, your title is Deceit and your function is Self Preservation."
"Deceit... Isn't lying bad? Am I bad? Why does my head hurt?" Janus didn't notice the looks of pain on the others faces because they put those thoughts there.
Logan's smile disappeared. "No, you are not a bad side. You work for the good of Thomas. Why would you think that?"
"Because they told me so."
"Who?"
"..... I don't remember... They wore a lot of black."
"Do you mean the Dark Sides?"
A sharp gasp came from the yellow side. Blood, there is so much blood. Its my blood. Screaming. No, not screaming. Yelling. I'm running, the hallway is dark, the rug keeps triping me, my door lock is broken, I'm hiding... I can feel my breath.... The door to my room is open. Orange. I scream.
Janus is still screaming, he's trying to run but something is holding him down, he can feel someones breath. "Let me go! Please I'll do what you want!" he feels a slight sting in his arm before his eyes get blurry. The voices in the background get farther away as he feels himself involuntarily relax and fall back asleep.
Logan pulls the needle away as Roman, Remus and Virgil all let go of the sleeping side. Worry is blinding them as all of them walk into the kitchen to talk.
"The NopeRope doesn't remember anything. What do we do here?" Roman kept messing with his sash.
"His memory seems to come back with certain prompts or questions. However it seems to have a bad reaction-"
"A bad reaction? A BAD REACTION?? Logan, he was screaming for help while repeating the word no! That is more then JUST a bad reaction!!
Logan sighed, "Virgil, I know that you're worried about him but he does need to get his memory back."
"Does he?"
Everyone was now staring at Patton.
"I mean well, if he doesn't remember what the others put him through and what we put him through maybe he would be happier? He just looks to peaceful while he's asleep that I've never seen him have before."
"He will most likely remember anyway when he sees the scars, we can not hide this from him forever."
The kitchen was now an awkward silence. Until Remus broke it.
"How long till he wakes up, nerd?"
"Should be around 3 hou-"
"He'll be awake in five"
"What? Why five?"
"He's smaller then normal, plus he's not a full grown side yet, so-"
"What?" Patton didin't seem happy knowing that info.
Remus shugged, "he popped up in the gray when Thomas was ten, followed virgil around like a lost puppy next to a railroad. He just grew fangs a few months ago! I don't think they have venom though, bit of a shame. Everything is better with venom.-"
"Remus, getting off track here. Janus is the youngest?"
Remus nodded enthusiastically. "Yep" poping the P, "he was a cute little baby snake! Loved strawberries! The other three didn't like him very much though."
Patton was pressing his palms to his eye sockets. "they burned, beat and tried to kill a child?"
Remus nodded and looked to the ground.
The sides split up to go a few things before Janus woke up again.
When Janus opened his eyes all he could smell was strawberries. A song played in the background. He felt stronger and managed to sit up. He looked on the TV to see a frog singing the loveliest lies of them all.
"Vee! Vee!" Boucing up and down. "Can we watch Over The Garden Wall?" Virgil looked over at the shorter side. "You just watched it yesterday, short stack" even though the yellow side was 15 he still bounced and gave Virgil the puppy dog eyes. Virgil sighed, "Fine. Bring up the episode." trying and failing to sound annoyed. The smaller side smiled even wider.
"Vee?" Janus mumbled under his breathe the name. The side in the memory looked similar to...What was his name? VIRGIL! That was it! Was Vee Virgil? The snake zoned out in his thoughts and the song from the frog. Only to be brought out of it when a light blue side stood in front if him.
"Patton? That was your name right?"
"Yep! You got it in one mr scales!" Patton seemed nice, wait. Scales?
Get out of here you slimy boi! reptilian rapscallion! Snake! Evil! Villian! You are no good for Thomas! Just leave! Leave! LEAVE! LEAVE!
Janus lifted his hand and touched the left side of his face. Smooth scales greeted his hand and old burnt skin next to his eye. Tears started to leak for a reason he couldn't pin point. Continuously touching the scales, stoking over the sharp bottom of scales. Sooner then he thought someone was sitting next to him.
Patton sat next to him and was counting numbers.

Janus didn't know what the numbers where but he followed along anyway.
Soon he could smell the strawberries again. He likes strawberries right? Janus thinks he likes strawberries. When he looks up, Patton gives him a hug. Wincing when his arms touch something on his back.
More and more time passes. With each memory things get clearer. Janus still doesn't know why he can't remember anything. Until another memory happens.
"WILL YOU PLEASE JUST SHUT UP?" " No! Roman I want to apologize! I'm sorry I compared you to your brother! I'm sorry I manipulated you at the courtroom! I'm sorry I sent Remus to deal with my problems! You don't have to forgive me but ay least listen to me!" Roman growls "FUCK OFF!!" And suddenly, he is back at the dark household.
He needs to get out before the others find him. Who knows what they would do to h- "Ohhh Deceit! So lovely for you to stop by~" Too late.
He runs to his room, tripping on the carpet. The lock is broken. He hides in the closet. Wrath finds him. He's dragged to the dark side commons and chained to a wall for days to become the personal punching bad. Apathy set him on fire, Wrath beat him up and Depression.... Depression did something to his head. He was thrown into the gray after depression had his fun. Then he blacked out
Janus doesn't want to leave his room. He's being punished for wanting to apologize. That seems like bullshit to him.
Weeks pass. People keep knocking on his door, they say that they're worried. What a bunch of liars.
After a month, the sides make Thomas take them inside if the bedroom. After a bit of convincing, Janus tells them everything.
And much to his surprise. They are livid.

This turned out a lot more fluffy then I originally thought.... Hope ya like it! I need to go write a poem now ❤💛❤

"What's going on?" Betty asked, blue eyes training on you. They held concern. You took a deep breath, squeezing Cheryl's hand before looking at your twin and licking your lips.
"I... I was.." You looked away from her, biting your bottom lip.
"Assaulted."

"What?" Betty asked softly but Cheryl looked at her and shook her head.
"It was.. A month back.. At a party I went to with.." You swallowed, chest tightening at the thought of him and his name.
"I didn't want to drink but he just kept insisting so I had one cup and.. I'm pretty sure it was drugged and he only had drank a little. I don't remember much other than being dragged into the bathroom and.." You pressed your lips into a thin line, blinking away tears. Betty stayed silent, eyes shining with tears.

"Even though I don't remember much... I felt him." You said softly, feeling Cheryl wrap her arms around you. She understood. She had gone through a similar experience. Betty stood, going to you and sitting down, hugging you.
"I love you, (N/N)." She whispered. You sniffled, wiping away tears with the sleeve of your sweater.
"We're here for you." She added.

You remembered the morning after. The feeling that something was wrong. You woke up in an unknown bed filled with the stench of him. In the beginning his cologne and scent made you swoon but now it made you wanna throw up. You remembered bits and pieces of trying to push him away but he didn't get the hint or maybe he ignored it. You wanted to erase him from your memory. Somehow block him from your mind.

You fiddled with your sleeve as Betty finished talking with Kevin. You stared at the ground, wanting to disappear into the lockers. You glanced up as the two approached you. Part of you knew he probably wouldn't suffer any consequences. There was barely any evidence other than your words. Kevin opened his arms.
"I'll tell my dad and we'll figure something out." He said. You nodded, hugging him. He was warm and cuddly. Betty put a hand on your shoulder.
"There's a support group in town. Maybe you can visit one of their sessions with Cheryl." Betty said.
My mind keeps looking for a way
To find somebody else to blame

You hugged your pillow tightly, feeling its wetness from your tears. The nightmares were the worst part. They reminded you of everything. You wanted to forget but couldn't. You sighed softly, standing up and leaving your room. You made your way to your mom's room, opening the door.
"(N/N)? What's wrong, honey?" Alice asked, voice groggy. You approached the bed, climbing in beside her.
"Nightmare." You mumbled. Alice wrapped her arms around you, humming a soft lullaby to lure you into a comforting dream.
And I don't want you all inside my head

"There's not much we can do.." Sheriff Keller started off, frowning. You wrapped your arms around yourself, letting out a soft sigh.
"Without any evidence, it's just.. Too late." He sighed. Cheryl took out her phone, typing away before she showed Sheriff Keller her screen.
"I asked everyone who attended that party if they had photos and videos. Me and TT went through all of them and found every one with (Y/N) and Reggie." Cheryl said. You raised your brows, watching Sheriff Keller study each video.
"These do show (Y/N) being pressured into drinking.." He mumbled.
"The last one shows a clear view of (N/N) being taken out of the bathroom by that vile creature unconscious." Cheryl said.
"Is that evidence enough?" She asked, arms crows and brow arched. Sheriff Keller nodded slowly, handing the phone back to her. You glanced at Betty.

"We'll contact Reginald's parents." Sheriff Keller nodded to you. You felt scared. What if they went after you? Somehow had evidence that turned everyone against you?
"Come on, (N/N)." Betty said softly. You stood up, following the two girls.
"Cheryl.. I don't know how to thank you enough." Betty said.

"It's okay, Arch." You whispered, wrapped your arms around his neck. He smelled nice. Like ginger and soft oak. Archie returned the hug, arms wrapped around you. You liked his warmth and his scent. You pulled back but he kept his arms around you.
"Would you.. Want to go to Pop's with me?" He asked. You smiled, nodding.
"Okay."

Thanks to Archie, you were able to look at the letterman jackets and Bulldogs without wanting to cry or puke. Your thoughts buzzed with him instead of Reginald. Your mother eventually found out about the assualt and Archie. She wanted to tear Reginald apart but Sheriff Keller convinced her not to. She accepted Archie since he made you open up again. He made you.. You. Of course, all good things get interrupted. Reginald had finally shown up to scholl once the court date had been announced and news got around. Archie and, surprisingly enough, the Serpents became protective. They kept you separated from Reginald and even Chuck and Moose stood with you, even apologizing for not doing anything at the party.

Winter is here at long last, not many people enjoy winter because of a lot of factors like food and weather, in winter only specific plant and crops that could grow in such a cold and harsh season, food are said to be limited in times like this
This season however is the one that Snake Pillar and Love Pillar favored the most, Iguro and Mitsuri always loved winter because of some reason...
Knock, knock, knock
"She's/he's here!" Mitsuri said as she rushed to front door with Iguro trailing behind her, under his bandage, he's probably smiling now, eagerly, Mitsuri open the door...
And to find a beautiful girl/handsome guy in white kimono, her/his skin is as white as the snow and (E/C) eyes clear like crystal, the girl/guy pull down the hood and smiled at them "Mitsuri okusan, Iguro danna" you smiled at them as Mitsuri squealed and hugged you "We're so happy to see you again!!"
Iguro nodded and put his hand on your shoulder "We have missed you, (name), winter couldn't came sooner" Odd that Iguro seems being nice to you, eh? Well now, he knows that he have to be nice and affectionate towards his wife/husband.
That's right, wife/husband.
He's with Mitsuri but he had you as his second wife/first husband.
You could feel something around your neck and to see Kaburamaru slithering your neck and nuzzled you with his head, you smiled and use your finger to caress his head "Why, hello to you too, Kaburamaru, it's been a while" you booped his muzzle and chuckled.
Mitsuri pulled away from the hug and took both of your hands with hers "We finally get to spend time together!! Are you hungry? What would you like to eat? Nabe? Some hot soup? Or nice hot nikujaga?"

Iguro sighed and facepalmed as you just laughed nervously
"Mitsuri..."
She looked at you and Iguro in confusion she realized something.
Oh...right...
You can't even eat any hot food or else...

Mitsuri start to blush and sweat nervously and covered her face in embarrassment "I'm so sorry!! I forgot that you can't eat anything hot!!" You smiled and patted her back "It's okay, okusan, it's not a big deal"
"I believe it is" Iguro said crossing his arms "We feared the worst, dear (name)" his tone of speaking are rather gentle and show great concern towards you, you smiled and shook your head as you pull Mitsuri to a reassuring hug "Danna it's okay, I knew that okusan would sometimes forgot that" Mitsuri let out incoherent mumbles as she buried her head in your chest.
Iguro sighed and nodded as he ruffled Mitsuri's hair "It's fine, Mitsuri, just try to remember next time" she looked up at you and Iguro then nodded, wiping the tears off her eyes "Okay, I won't forget next time"
Iguro nodded in acknowledgement "Well, now that we're all here, why don't we enjoy the snow together?"
You and Mitsuri nodded in agreement and smiled "I'm going to get us some senbei and tea! Iguro, you can go ahead with (name)-chan"
"I'll help you, Okusan"
"No, no! You leave this one to me!" She said as she push both of you and Iguro to the engawa, you pouted and sighed "But I really want to help Okusan..." Under the bandage Iguro smiled and caressed your (H/C) locks "You will, next time, we still have plenty of month" you smiled and nodded "You're right, danna, I'm going to cherish the month we're going to spend from now on"
You smiled at him "I guess, you're right" you looked up at the snowy sky, you decide playing with the snow and make them into various shapes, "I never get bored to see you doing that" he said as he lay his head on your shoulder, you smiled and kissed his forehead, Kaburamaru lolling out his tongue as if he wanted some affection.
"Hehehe, you want a kiss too, Kaburamaru?"
He responded by giving you a boop on your nose, you giggled and stroke his head with a smile "You're welcome, Kaburamaru" Iguro looked up at you "Should I be jealous that Kaburamaru get more attention more than me and Mitsuri?"
You chuckled as you put your arm around him.

And gently run your fingers through his black hair as he hummed "If I did, I'm pretty much married to Kaburamaru than you and Mitsuri" he chuckled at you, your sense of humor never ceases to make him smile "That's an audacity"
"Yeah! Don't you think Iguro and I are cuter?!"
You both looked at Mitsuri with plate of senbei and three cups of tea, she put down the tray and lay her head on your shoulder too.
"Come on, say it! We're cuter!" She said huffing her cheeks, you decided to tease them "I don't know, Kaburamaru is rather cute, wouldn't you say?"
Kaburamaru lolled his tongue in response, maybe saying "I know, I'm too lovable"
Iguro though seems jealous, he pulled himself away from you and crossed his arms, huffing, his snake is winning his wife/husband by landslide?! Outrageous! "Then marry him instead"
You couldn't hold your laugh and hugged Iguro close to you and bury his head on your breasts/broad chest "I was just joking, danna! No need to be so angry!"
"I thought you were being serious!!" Mitsuri said hugging your arm as you giggled and kissed her cheek "No I'm not, why would I do that? I had the best husband and wife in the whole world"
Mitsuri smiled and give you a kiss on cheek "I can't argue with you there, what do you say Iguro?....Iguro?"
You looked down at him and to his face was beet red, he shyly hide his face under the sleeve of his haori "N-next time you're doing that, warn me..."
You laughed nervously "Sorry..." He just sighed and smiled through his eyes, the three of you then decided to enjoy the snowy view while eating senbei and drinking a cup of hot tea (and cold ones for you), you looked as Iguro gently took off his bandage, you smiled at him, kissing his scar, he return the smile and kissed your cheek as well.
"How long has it been?" Mitsuri said while sipping her tea and tugging her haori tightly to warm her up a bit, you don't know what she's talking about, but Iguro seems catch what she meant "It feels like a long time ago we met you, (name)"
"To me it feels like yesterday though!" Mitsuri said smiling at both of you "I remember that day we take a mission on snowy village"
Ah, so that's what they mean.
A warm smile spread across your face as you played with the snow "It did felt like yesterday... I'm feeling a little bit nostalgic, can we have a trip to memory lane?"
Iguro put his cup down and lay down on your lap "I don't mind" Mitsuri grinned and join him "Me too! It's so memorable that it's impossible to forget!"
You smiled while stroking their hair.
You could almost see that day when you met them...
Few years ago...
Mitsuri and Iguro were appointed to patrol in the snowy village near the mountain, many people was struck in fear regarding the demon attacks that has been recently happened and missing people.
Some of the villagers thought there is a Yuki onna/Yuki ottoko that cause a great concern towards the villagers, everyone knows well what Yuki onna/Yuki ottoko do to most missing people, Iguro actually disregard this, he never believed that something mythical like Yuki onna are exist.
Mitsuri however was different, she's intrigued and curious whether she's exist or not, she knows well that Yuki onna/Yuki ottoko are known as the beautiful yōkai in many Japanese tales, Iguro convince her that they don't exist, but she insisted on investigating, and who is Iguro if he refuse her wishes?
So at the third day of their mission, both of him and Mitsuri went to the forest where the snow yōkai lives armed with their sword and oil lantern, it was snowy night it was colder than usual, Mitsuri was kind of scared but knowing that she had Iguro she feels safer than ever.
"W-whatever you do, Iguro-san I hope you'll be careful, because we're going to see a yōkai"
Well that's not reassuring...
"No matter what happens I won't die, this bitch or whatever it is, they should know their place even though we're armored with swordsmanship"
Mitsuri nod and keep following him, she stopped as she hear something "Iguro-san..." Iguro gripped his sword and looked around "Stay close, Kanroji..." She nodded and keep following him, she flinched when she saw a silhouette of a human kneeled next to a dead body.
She instinctively reach for her sword, Iguro even ready to fight.
No matter how they try to move silently, the person seem to notice their presence "W-who's there?" They both froze in place, but knowing that it won't do any good, Iguro take initiative "Whatever you do, you better stay put before I cut off your head" the figure froze in fear, as they both come closer, they stopped their tracks as they see you.
The rumored Yuki onna/Yuki ottoko.
There's a dead body next to you and blood everywhere and on your hands but not your mouth.
"So you're actually the culprit behind the recent attacks and missing people..." Iguro said pulling out his sword, you look at them in fear "Wait! This isn't what it looks like!" Iguro just scoffed "Typical words coming from a scoundrel like you"
He was ready to cut you until...
"Iguro-san, wait!!" She managed to grab his arm which cause him to stop and looked at her questioningly "She's/he's innocent! I don't think she's/he's not the one who caused all of this, look at her/him! She/he doesn't have any blood on her/his mouth!"
Iguro looked at you closely, you don't seem to have capability to hurt someone, and Mitsuri got a point, there's no blood on your mouth meaning you didn't even eat the man, Iguro scoffed and put his sword back and glared at you "Then why would you have a dead body there?"
"This man was running away from the demon, I happen to be around... I tried to stop the demon but..." You bit your lip "you know what's next..."
Mitsuri listened closely and nodded, she then looked at Iguro, tugging his sleeve "Iguro, I'm sure she/he did nothing wrong, she/he wouldn't kidnap a human much less killing people..."
You nodded "Yes, I won't! I may be a famed Yuki onna/Yuki ottoko, but I never had a heart to hurt humans! Please believe me, sir! I'm sure I could be a help to you and your lover here!"
Iguro blushed as you call Mitsuri his lover, she also blushed at that, their eyes met but they quickly avoided eye contacts, Iguro cleared his throat and looked at you "Very well, Yuki onna/Yuki ottoko, but if you didn't keep your word, I swear I will burn you alive"
Mitsuri looked at him, terrified, "Iguro, I think that's-"
"You have my word" you say smiling and bowing respectfully at them "By the way, you can't call me Yuki onna/Yuki ottoko for too long, I'm (name) by the way"
Mitsuri smiled at your friendly demeanor "Nice to meet you! I'm Mitsuri Kanroji and This is Iguro Obanai! You can call us whatever you like!" You smiled at them "Okay, Kanroji dono, Obanai dono"
"You're so polite!" Mitsuri said as she hugged you, you could feel Iguro glaring at you with jealousy and try to not to be unshaken by it, "You better make yourself useful tomorrow" Iguro said turning his back from you, you pouted "He hates me doesn't he?" Mitsuri smiled and ruffled your hair "He's actually very nice when you get to know him even more, well, we'll be looking forward to work with you!" You smiled at her "Y-yeah!"
The very next day, you helped them scouting the demons, knowing you always wandering around the forest area you know how demons would hide here now and then, in your spare time, you and the two pillars enjoy having a good warm food until you tell them you can't eat anything hot or warm because you'll melt.
"you're joking"
"I-i'm not... I'm not like my mother and siblings who could return to our forms normally..." You say twiddling your thumbs "Aww, poor thing! But don't worry! The next time we came we'll bring something for you!" You smiled gratefully at her "Thank you Kanroji dono" you looked at Iguro just scowling, he must be jealous because you're close with Mitsuri...
Day by day and weeks passed, the three of you keep scouting for demons together, it took Iguro to finally warm up to you but he was being tsundere to admit that, he would just scowl and steer clear from you
Once you found the demon behind all the chaos in the village, the two pillars fought with you by their side, Mitsuri was very thankful to you and Iguro...well, he's thankful but he didn't show it.
Knowing Mitsuri, she will definitely will bring you to the estate so you and Iguro can get along really well, he, of course, refused, but she insisted him because you're actually a good yōkai and won't eat him in his sleep, you even begged him because you really want to get along with him, and he had no choice but to obey...
However, upon hearing the news about you going with the humans, the mountain spirit had no choice but to not letting you come back ever, you were sadden knowing that you don't have any place to live, but Iguro reluctantly decided to take you in with him, both of you and Mitsuri couldn't be more happier.
Discreetly, Iguro bring you inside the wooden box, you're made of snow so it's easy for you to adjust (like Tanjiro carrying Nezuko), everyone was suspicious of him bringing a box to his estate, they joked that Iguro bring a demon just like Kamado did, haha, not demons but yōkai...
Having you in his estate certainly give changes... He didn't want to admit it but he find your presence rather pleasant, no one aside from Mitsuri knows about this, but they assume things as Mitsuri would always visit Iguro's estate.
Few months later, he became comfortable with you , he slowly show his fondness towards you and find comfort in your presence, and he was awfully happy since Mitsuri accept his proposal, you are very happy hearing them finally going on that level, he noticed you sitting on engawa, recently he notice you always looked anxious and awry.
"You looked agitated, is everything okay?"
"Iguro sama..."
He noticed tears in your eyes "(Name) what's wrong?"
"Iguro!!~ (Name)!~ I'm here..."
She stopped as she saw Iguro hugging you as you cried, she hurriedly ran towards you "(Name)! Why are you crying? Is everything okay?" You looked up at them with tears in your eyes "Iguro sama, Mitsuri sama, I'm so sorry... I think it's time I say goodbye..." They both widen their eyes with surprise
"Why?! Is everything okay? Why would you leave?!"
Iguro looked at you wistfully
"...Is it about me and Kanroji?"
You shook your head, you both love them too much there's no way you're not happy that they're finally together "Spring will come soon, and I'm not that strong to keep my form like this, meaning that I have to leave you two... At least until the next winter comes..."
It sounds like hearing thunder in broad daylight, the two of them planned to take you as their spouse in secret, sure you can all live together but that only last every winter...
...
Both Mitsuri and Iguro hugged you tightly as if they're afraid to let you go, "So that's what bothering you lately..." You nodded and wipe your tears "I'm not saying anything because I don't want to make you worried but I guess the cat's out of the bag now...I could visit you even if it take so much time
They both parted the hug and looked at you, Iguro placed his hand on your cold cheek "(name), what if the three of us get married instead?"
"What?!"
Mitsuri nodded "Iguro and I talked about it, we want that you stayed with us after our wedding and even take you as our spouse in secret, but I guess it's not that easy, huh?" She smiled sadly, then caressed your hair affectionately "But actually, it's not that bad, at least we can see you again even in winter only"
Iguro nodded and slid his bandage down, even though he had a scar on his face, he's still beautiful to you, he gently kissed your head and smiled as Mitsuri did the same "Once my wedding with Mitsuri is over, we will have one for the three of us afterwards, if you don't mind..."
You smiled and hug them "I don't mind, I love you both so much and who am I to refuse?" They smiled and hugged you back then they remember that winter over in two weeks, so they plan it all quickly, they even asked Himejima to officiate their wedding with you, they trusted him and Oyakata-sama to help them with this wedding.
And once their own wedding is over they headed to nearest shrine where Himejima and the rest of Ubuyashiki family waiting for the three of you there, it was short and simple but memorable regardless how simple it was.
Once the last night of winter come, you embraced them and give them a sweet kisses on lips as you pressed your foreheads together "I will see you in next winter, okusan, danna..." They smiled at you with tears in their eyes as you headed out.
The next morning, they saw your (F/C) kimono laying on the ground, Mitsuri took it and hold it close to her as Iguro hugged her and looked up at the morning spring sky
"See you in next winter, dear (name)..."
Mitsuri wipe her tears as she hugged you, Iguro followed her suit and embrace you as you drink in their warmth, it didn't make you melt though it feels nice...
"I have good news though..."
They both looked up at you "What is it?"
"I think if I get enough strength I could live for all season even in summer" they both smiled brightly at the prospect "Then we will do our best to make it happen"
You smiled even more "Oh, and guys?"
"Yes dear?" They say in unison, they were distracted when a strange light came in front of you and an adorable child came out of the thin air, Iguro and Mitsuri gaped at the little child, it's a girl with Mitsuri's hair, Iguro's eyes and your face.
You giggled and hugged the adorable child "I'm a mature Yuki onna/Yuki ottoko now so I'm able to have our own Yuki warashi~"

...
"Oh my God..."
"AAHH!! She's so CUTE!!" Mitsuri say hugging the child as Iguro looked at her in astonishment, the child looked at Mitsuri, Iguro then you, you nuzzled her affectionately "Hello, child, we're your parents, nice to meet you" the little girl point at Mitsuri.
"Mama!"
Mitsuri squealed and nodded, then she looks at you "Mommy/dada" you smiled and hugged her then looked at Iguro "and he is...?" Your daughter looked at Iguro for a while and giggled "Papa!!"
Iguro felt like he got a heart attack, she's just too cute.
"(name) can I hold her?"
You smiled and nodded and hand her to him as Iguro hold his daughter, her small hand touched his scar as she smiled, her touch is cold but in pleasant way, Iguro can't help but smile "We're so going to raise you to be a fine woman, kid"
You and Mitsuri smiled at him as the three of you played with the child and planning on making her.
The winter you had with them is certainly amazing now that the three of you became parents...

Admin 15: Ahahaha, I was bored so I made this, the ending was definitely unexpected to me, all of you may be familiar with Yuki onna and not Yuki ottoko, I added it for the sake of the story.
And also some of you might haven't heard about Yuki warashi, well they literally mean "snow children" there is the story about a child sculpted by old childless couple, the pattern of reader's visit to Mitsuri and Iguro had similarities from the Yuki warashi visiting their parents.
Also you might wonder why the reader call Iguro "danna" and Mitsuri as "okusan"
For some of you who doesn't know yet danna (旦那/旦那様/旦那さん) means "husband" or "my husband" and Okusan (奥さん) means "my wife"

The egg timer that you had set went off with a shrill ring. Cringing, you sat yourself up, and reached over turning it off. You had set the timer as a reminder to take the horrific cold medicine and now it was time to take another spoonful. It was disgusting and it make you gag. But you had been recovering quickly so it meant it was working.
Your face was scrunched up in disgust as you poured the gross goopy liquid out into the spoon, and set the bottle aside.
You sharply exhaled, bracing yourself for the foul taste and closed your eyes. It was even more disgusting than the last time and you felt an involuntary shiver run up your spine. Fortunately, you remembered to set aside your favorite juice to wash it down with, learning from your mistake of taking a swig of water.
Setting aside the medicine and setting the timer for your next dose, you slid yourself under the blankets once more. Nestling yourself up in the caccoon of blankets and pillows you had made for yourself on the couch. After all, you had the house to yourself for the day and you figured it didn't hurt to have some entertainment so the TV was on, the remote next to you.
The cold medicine shortly began taking effect. You could feel your eyelids grow heavy, and the next thing you knew you were being pulled from sleep by a loud thud, followed by a string of hushed whispers.
This of course concerned you, given nobody was supposed to be home until eight PM, but felt relief wash over you when you recognized one of the voices to be Dustin's who was cursing under his breath.
"Shit. Shit. Shit. Dammit. Motherfuc-"
"Dustin!" Will hissed under his breath. "Shut up! She's sleeping."
"I'm trying to" you slurred.
Great. You forgot how drowsy and loopy you got on this stuff. It was was easy to forget since you had been home alone while on it. With nobody to interact with, it was harder to tell.
"Y/n. I'm sorry, we didn't mean to wake you." Will said quietly. "We just thought we'd swing by and see how you were doing. We even brought your stuff from school. I took notes for you, so,"
"Really?" You asked, now on your side facing Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max and Mike. "Tha- Thas'sweet, thanks" you cooed, your brain foggy from sleep and cold medicine.
Will chuckled weakly, a genuine smile on his face. "No problem."
Dustin, who was still hopping on one foot, grasping his other was taking sharp breaths.
"Dude, what is your problem?" Lucas asked.
"I stubbed my fucking toe!" He exclaimed.
Max chuckled and Lucas rolled his eyes.
"There'ssome ice in the freezer," you slurred.
"Thanks," Dustin said, hobbling off to freezer in the kitchen.
"Have a seat" you mumbled, and the party looked at one another and shrugged, finding seats scattered across the living room.
Will ended up taking a seat near you, in case you needed anything. Something you appreciated.
"I missed you guys," you pouted, and sniffled, a combination of the cold and your emotions. "So much,"
They gave each other a confused look and looked back at you.
"Man, she's really out of it, huh?" Mike said.
"No kidding," Max said.
"Give her a break, she's been out sick all week" Will said, looking at them.
You smiled tearfully at Will. "You're so nice!" You whined.
Will chuckled, knowing you weren't thinking clearly from the meds.
"Thanks, Y/n," he said kindly.
It was quiet for a short minute, nobody knowing what to say when Dustin came back into the living room with a small baggie of ice.
You giggled, smiling weakly and you called out enthusiastically your friend. "Dustybun!"
Dustin's frowned at the name given to him by his girlfriend, and everyone burst into laughter. "Not cool, Y/n,"
"I like her like this," Lucas said.
"I like you too, Lucas. You're cool." You mumbled, snuggling up to your pillow, thinking he gave you a compliment.
"You're pretty cool too, L/n" He chuckled.
At that moment, your stomach growled, loud enough for everyone to hear, and you frowned.
"Do you want me go get you some food?" Will offered.
Your eyes closed, you sighed contently. "Yes pleeaase," you drawled.
Will got up and disappeared into the kitchen.
"Could he be any more obvious?" Dustin whispered.
Mike elbowed Dustin, shushing him.
"What? Like she'll remember this." Dustin argued.
You had been zoning out and suddenly you burst into a fit of giggles. The others looked at you skeptically but you were in your own little world.
Mike shrugged. "That's fair,"
At that moment, Will returned with a small snack and a glass of water. He walked over to where you were sitting and set the glass of water down on the side table and handed you the food.
"Here you go Y/n"
You looked up at him, he was looking at you kindly, waiting for you to take the food.
You were focused on his face. More specifically his, nose. You slowly reached up and touched his nose. "Boop."
He gave you an amused look, and chuckled nervously.
"Um, do you not want eat right now?" He asked awkwardly.
"No, I'm hungry." You stated confidently, and you struggled to sit up and get comfortable.
Noticing this, Will knelt down on his knees next to you on the couch and adjusted the pillow behind your back.
Your head felt heavy when you sat up, and you realized how sluggish your limbs felt.
You frowned. "My head is so much!" You exclaimed distressed.
"What?" He asked confused.
"You heard her, her head is so much!" Lucas laughed.
"Yeah!" You said.
"My head is heavy, duh!" You sent Will a look that said 'keep up, man' and looked at the others, Lucas in particular like 'can you believe this guy?'
Lucas, who was now thoroughly entertained, nodded along with you, encouraging you.
"But it's okay," you patted Will's cheek. "It's a good thing you're cute."
Will turned pink, and looked to others for help, but they only grinned back at him, eyes widened slightly, obviously happy with where this was going.
"Um, thanks?"
"You're welcome," you cooed. "You're so nice, and cute, an-and nice!"
"Thanks," he chuckled weakly.
"Tha-that's why I like you so much, silly!" You said matter-of-factly.
Max who had already found out about your crush on the boy, bit back a laugh, feeling bad for you, but also reveling in the fact that this was happening.
Everyone else was just as shocked, no more so than Will though of course.
"Um, I- uh," He stuttered, his face now scarlet. "Why don't you just eat a couple bites, and uh, we'll let you sleep some more. We've kept you up long enough. Besides, you need the rest."
You pouted. "But I don't want you to go."
"Yeah but you need your sleep. This cold really did a number on you,"
"Ugh!" You exclaimed suddenly, startling the group, and you gestured lazily to the bottle of cold syrup. "I hate that stuff! It's nasty and it made my brain tired,"
You didn't know how else to phrase it, your entire brain felt sluggish and you were barely making sense of this conversation.
A look of disappointment flashed across Will's face as he looked at the bottle. It disappeared quickly and he looked back at you.
"Yeah, which is why you need rest. That stuff is super strong,"
"It super sucks," you retorted, giggling at your joke.
"Yeah, it super sucks." He chuckled, looking at you fondly.
Will stood up and the others followed suit. "Alright, is there anything else you need before we go?"
You blinked rapidly, your brain still catching up. "There is one thing?"
"Yeah?" He raised his eyebrows, waiting for you to continue.
"A hug goodbye?" You asked, looking up at him innocently, your eyes still droopy.
He seemed taken aback, but complied leaning down to hug you.
Arms outstretched you engulfed him in a hug and as he pulled away you took the opportunity to kiss his cheek, making a small 'muah' sound that the others noticed.
He jumped slightly, and stood up quickly. Looking at you with wide eyes as he lightly touched his bright red cheek where your lips just were.
You giggled mischievously. "Now you're gonna get my germs"

It was Monday morning, and you were finally back at school. You were bummed that you didn't get to stay at home all day but you were relieved you didn't have to deal with that shitty cold that made you miserable.
Plus you would get to see your friends. You barely remember them coming to visit you, and just like that bits and pieces came flowing back. Your face suddenly went pale.
You told Will you liked him. You told your crush you liked him and doted all over him in front of everyone.
Yeah, no, you couldn't show your face to them ever again. You had to get new friends. Sure it would suck, making new friends was a chore and it would suck never seeing them again but that was the price you had to pay. It just couldn't be helped.
Too bad.
"Y/n!"
And now it was time to leave the country.
Cringing to yourself, you sharply exhaled and tried to physically relax.
"Hey, Will."
"Hi Y/n," He said shyly, shuffling on his feet.
"What's up?" You prayed he didn't bring it up.
"I just, I wanted to see how you were feeling. You seemed, pretty out of it."
You sighed, looking anywhere but him. You stomach had a flurry of butterflies.
"Listen, I'm really sorry. I understand if you want some space for a while."
"Y/n it's fine."
"No, it's not."
"It's forgotten. Look, I know you were on some pretty heavy stuff so, it's fine, really. So you kissed me, who cares?" He shrugged.
You eyes nearly popped out of your head and you grew nauseous.
"I what?!"
Will faltered, somehow going pale and turning pink.
"Yo-You kissed me. Don't worry though, it was just on the cheek. It's fine, really."
You backed up slightly, and turned to face the wall of lockers and buried your face in it. You wanted nothing more than the floor to swallow you whole.
Sure you were relieved to hear you didn't actually kiss him but hell, this was still ridiculously mortifying.
"Oh God," you groaned.
"Y/n," his voice was soft and for the forgiving but you hated the pity.
You only groaned louder and shook your head no hoping that would do something to ease the embarrassment.
"I can't imagine what you must think of me." You sighed, prying yourself off the lockers, but you still refuses to meet his eye.
"Well," he said, fiddling with his hands and looking down at his feet. "I thought- I thought it was kinda sweet."
Your mouth ran dry and you looked at him for the first time and ripping your gaze away from your shoes.
"W-What?"
Will smile shyly, and looked around a bit before looking back at you. He took a deep breath and spoke, the words spilling out of his mouth quickly. 
"What I'm trying to say is, I like you too Y/n."
Your heart started pounding, harder than it had been before if at all possible and a nervous but happy smile tugged at your lips.
"You do?"
"Yeah, I do." He smiled sheepishly and nodded his head. "In fact, everyone has kinda been teasing me about it for some time now," he laughed and you giggled along not believing this was happening.
Your eyes met and there was a silent but mutual understanding. He held out his hand, and looked to you fondly. The same look he had in his eyes when he saw you on Friday. A look he only gave you.
"Want to head to class together?"
You looked down at his outstretched hand and you took it, smiling brightly at him, finding it endearing how shy and sweet he was.
"I'd love to,"
A look of relief washed over Will and he beamed at you. Suddenly, his face scrunched up ever so slightly and you frowned. He brought his other arm up and sneezed into his elbow.
He looked back and you laughed. "Well, I guess you were right."
"What?"
"You did give me your germs." 
The words you had said to him days ago came back to you and you instantly felt guilty.
"Oh Will, I'm sorry!"
He began laughing and you couldn't stop the giggles that arose from your chest, finding the situation humorous. You were also just so relieved at how things smoothed over.
Will caught his breath and smiled genuinely. "It's okay. It's a good thing you're cute." 
You were taken by surprise at his boldness, but then you realized just what he had said. Having thrown your own words back at you from your drunken-like state and you laughed, running your free hand down your face.
"Oh God, let's just get to class" you giggled.
The pair of you started walking when he looked up at you. 
"In all seriousness, even if I do get your cold," He shrugged, smirking. "It was worth it."
The flurry of butterflies in your stomach doubled in numbers, and your heart fluttered.
It was now your turn to be a blushing pink mess.

I'm again hiding from my parents and everyone from the castle, right, you don't know, let me introduce myself, I'm Y/N princess of Seokland and I'm set to married and that's why I'm hiding, I don't want to marry a man I don't know so I'm in my secret place on the royal garden looking at all the animals we have.
I close my eyes for a few minutes, feeling the sun on my face, but I open them when I feel something in front of me and I see a big beautiful peacock too quiet looking straight into my eyes. "Hi!" I say to him and he doesn't move. "Why did I say hi, he doesn't understand me." I say out loud laughing to myself and the peacock makes a sound after I said that like he was laughing.
I started reading the book I always bought here, after a few pages I notice the peacock was still at the same place, I let it pass and continue reading until he makes a noise making me look at him and seeing me looking he suddenly opens his beautiful feathers showing them to me and I stare at them admiring, I stand a little reaching my hand to touch it and it's so soft.
"So beautiful!" I say and our moment was interrupted when I hear the guards calling me.
"I have to go! I'll see you later peacock!" I say getting up quickly, grabbing my book and run away from me. (Corrigido ate aqui)
I've been hiding from everything for two months now and everything is still the same, I hope, and everytime I'm in my spot the strange peacock is always with me either looking at me or sitting beside me.
Today he's on my side while I read my book. I look up from my book and see the sun going down and I look at the peacock that was looking at me and I pet his little head. "I think I'm going to close my eyes for a few minutes my friend." I say to him and close my eyes feeling the peacock resting on my lap too.
I start waking up and I open my eyes a little seeing the sun almost gone, I close my eyes, trying to rest a little more until I felt something heavy on my lap.
I look down and I see a beautiful boy sleeping and I scream loud, making him open his eyes and scream too, he looks at himself then me and screams again.
I push him from my lap and get up getting away from him, making him seat on the ground looking at me with big eyes.
"Princess! Princess!" I look behind seeing the guards running towards me. "Princess we hear you screaming. It's everything alright?" The guard asks me.
"There's a boy th...." I start saying, but when I look I only see the damn peacock again and I look around for the beautiful boy. "Princess?"
"There was someone here. You better look around." I say making the guards nod and start looking.
I look again for the peacock. "Where were you mister peacock to protect me!" I say joking to the peacock. "You should have seen the boy, he was so beautiful and he had such big lips...I wish I didn't scream." I say sad, but I pet the peacock head saying goodbye and going back to the castle after cleaning my dress.
The next day I keep thinking about the boy and I keep walking in the corridor going to the garden until a maid interrupts me. "Princess, the Queen and King ask for your presence in the throne room, and now here I am next to my mother watching the candidates princes for me to marry.
"Darling, please pay attention." I hear my mom. "I don't like any and I don't want to marry any of them so I'm going to take my leave now!" I say getting up and start walking out until.
"THAT'S ENOUGH! Next week your going to meet your future husband that I already choose." I hear my father and I look at him in shock.
"No! I don't want to marry someone I don't know. You can't make me." I say crying.
"If you don't marry him, say goodbye to your garden." He says and I scream leaving the throne room crying.
I collapsed the moment I get in the garden, crying when I feel someone hugging me making me hug back, that's when I come to my senses, someone is hugging me, I scream and get away from the person and I see the same boy from that day.
"You!" I say. "Hi!" He says showing his beautiful smile on that big lips.
"Are you okay?" He asks me sounding worried and I don't say nothing. "Come on, tell me everything." He says, patting the ground next to him and I look at his beautiful face.
I sit beside him and tell him everything.
"Don't worry Princess, I have a feeling everything is going to be fine." He says with that angel voice. "How do you know that?" I ask. "I just do." He says booping my nose making me laugh. "Thank you for listening." I say. "Anytime Princess. I'm Jin by the way." He says. "It's a pleasure to meet you Jin!" I say smiling.
We stay hours and hours in the garden just talking.
Almost a week had passed and I can't get Jin out of my mind and I smile thinking of him, but it quickly got away when I remembered today I'm going to meet my future husband.
I look outside the window thinking until a maid comes in my room. "Princess, Prince Jay is waiting for you in the Royal Garden." "I see, thank you." I say and sight starting to walk toward my misery.
"Ha! Here she is! My beautiful fiancé!" Prince Jay says. "It's an honor to meet you Prince Jay." I say bowing to him. "Come on, come on, we have a lot to talk my dear." He says, taking my hand, putting me next to him, too close for my taste.
The walk though that garden was normal, always talking about the wedding or money until he try to kiss me.
"What you think you are doing Prince Jay?" I scream. "You're my fiancé I have all the right to kiss you!" He says holding my wrists really tight. "Stop!" I say and when he try to lean on me suddenly something attack him to the ground.
Shocked, I see the peacock biting the Prince. "That this thing out of me!" He says and before he could hurt the peacock I take him and run away from the Prince.
I get to my secret spot and put the peacock on the ground not after I kiss his little head. "Thank you so much Mister Peacock. " I say, smiling to him.
Until something incredible happens, the peacock transformed into Jin. "Your welcome Princess." He smiles.
"What...how..how did you...." I couldn't even talk. "You were the peacock all this time?" I ask.
"I came from a family that has an ability to transform into animals. I came to this garden one day to relax until I found you and I couldn't leave." He says now in front of me, he puts his lips on mine kissing me softly. "You should go now Princess, see you tomorrow." He says, going away.
"What do you mean tomorrow?" I ask confused and no response.
I woke up the next day still thinking about yesterday, I prepared myself with the help of my maids like usual when someone knocked on my door. "Enter." "Good morning Princess, everyone is waiting for you at the throne room." A guard says. "Thank you I'll be there."
I walk towards the throne room with my heart beating fast.
"You finally arrive." My father says next to my mother and I see Prince Jay there too. "Due to some circumstances the wedding will be today afternoon." He continues. "What? No! Everything is not ready and I..." "Everything is ready sweety, I'm sorry." My mom says cleaning my tears on my cheeks. "Your going to be very happy my princess." Prince Jay says with a strange smile.
"My King, there's a man here requesting to see you." A guard says making all of us look at him. "Let him in." And for my surprise, Jin enters the room with a fancy suit and many guards behind him. "Jin..." I whisper, but my mom hears me. "You know him?" She asks and I nod. "He's beautiful." My mom says.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Prince Jay asks rudely. "BOY!" My dad screams making him coward and bow in apology. "My King, I'm Prince Seokjin from Bangtan and I'm here to marry your daughter." Jin says winking at me making me smile. "Bangtan! I can't believe it. Very well, since there's two princes, Y/N can choose." My dad says. "I choose Jin!" I say running into his arms. "No! It should be me! ME!" Prince Jay screams making the guards take him away.
A month later me and Jin had a beautiful wedding on the Royal Garden. "I love you my princess." "I love you my unusual Prince."

A/n: This took forever to write just because of who I am as a person and I had like 0 motivation. But I'm back and ready to write. I really like this concept, so I hope the story does it justice.
Summary: They call it the happiest place on earth. Shawn and y/n think other wise.
Warnings: fluff and lots of it, slight mentions of smut.

Shawn looks down at you, his girlfriend, his hands tangled in yours. She's beautiful, he thinks to himself. You're standing next to him, sunglasses shielding your y/e/c eyes - they're his favorite place to get lost. You've been together for two years, and he'd been touring the majority of that time, so when he finally got some "time off" he took you with him to California.
Of course you had hoped it would be just the two of you on this little adventure, but would never admit that because he wants to see his friends too. And lucky for you, you're good with his team, so having them tag along wasn't all bad. Except for when Shawn got a little more handsy than he usually would and the guys would point it out by making more sexual jokes than you'd like. Neither of you are shy about the aspects of your relationship by any means; his friends and team use that against you though and love to make fun. They don't mean it maliciously, though and you both know that.
"You're undressing her with your eyes, Shawny boy," Teddy said, pulling the bill of his cap over his eyes. "I don't blame you though."
You laugh and fix his sunglasses while he pushes his hat back in place, "Oh Teddy, you're making me blush. I don't think your fiance will approve." You say just loud enough for Emily to hear. She was able to take a break from her busy filming schedule to join you guys.
"Oh, I approve. You're a cutie."
You shake your head, "Oh, you've got major competition now, bubs."
He hummed and pulled you closer. "They can look all they want. As long as I'm the one undressing you later tonight."
"Play your cards right and you just might get lucky," you said, wrapping your arms around his torso while you walked, making you both kind of slow down a little because the angle was all wrong, but neither of you wanted to let go. He hummed and kissed the top of your head.
"Where to first?" Josiah asked, but you two weren't paying much attention. You were so caught up in the proximity of each other that you couldn't focus on anything outside of your arms length - which just so happen to still be around each other. "Carsland it is!" He said after some discussion from the group. "Maybe we need partners. I'll be with y/n!" He exclaimed. That caught Shawn's attention.
"Over my dead body. She's my partner."
"Oh, so you can hear?" Andrew teased. "Good to know." He patted Shawn's shoulder. "Come on. We're going to Carsland."
"Wasn't Niall supposed to come with us?" You asked as you made your way deeper into the park. "Should we have waited for him at the entrance?"
Shawn shook his head, "He got tied up at the studio. Said he couldn't make it."
You got stopped only a handful of times on your way to the Cars, and that's probably the least amount he's ever been stopped in public with you. But neither of you minded the interruptions.
Shawn took you on nearly every ride - Radiator Springs Racers twice because he wanted to ride in both cars, took you into every store, begging to buy you something even though he'd already bought you more than you needed at the first store you went to. "They all have the same stuff," you shrugged, taking the change from his hand so you could do the penny press. "Really, bubs, I don't need anything else. I just want to make the pennies." You know he rolled his eyes from behind those glasses that covered his beautiful eyes far too well.
"There you guys are!" Teddy exclaimed when she finally found you in the corner of the shop. "Figures I'd find you making out in a corner."
"It's hard to make out when his hat literally hits my forehead every time he leans down to kiss me," I point out. Shawn chuckles and rests his hands on my waist.
"Why were you looking for us? We haven't been gone five minutes. We would have caught up." Shawn mumbled as we walked out into the blinding California sun.
"You've been gone twenty minutes. We started thinking you finally got mobbed." Finally, you giggled, as if it was an event that everyone knew would happen eventually. "Figured we would have to send out a rescue team here pretty soon."
"Well we're fine. No need to worry."

It was nearing three when you guys made your way over to the Disneyland side of the park.
"Look, babe!" You nodded to your right. "It's Belle!"
He hummed, "there's not a long line. You want to take a picture?"
"Only if you take one with me."
"Course I will. Josiah, will you take our picture?"
"That's what I do, man." He took Shawn's phone while we got in line.
"God, you're fucking beautiful," Shawn muttered to himself when he looked through all the photos you've taken together today. You and the team were all sitting in a shaded area, rehydrating after having walked for hours upon hours. You and him, however, didn't seem to be slowing down. He had managed to take you on another few rides, except for the really tall ones like splash mountain; you were on the verge of tears when he suggested it. So instead he took you to ride the tea cups - three times. He was currently rewatching the video he took of you spinning the cup around, giggling and just genuinely having a great time. He loved seeing you this way. Carefree and vibrant. It wasn't often that you let this side of you out and he knew that, making sure to bask in every moment where you didn't have a single care in the world.
Your chin rested on his shoulder, water bottle nearly empty in your hand. "Have I told you yet that I think you look very handsome today?" You pressed a soft kiss to the shell of his ear and heard him take in a breath.
"No. But thank you." His hand found your free one and he brought it to his lips for a quick kiss, and even though you wanted to keep your hands joined, his were starting to clam up and they were way too hot for you to hold them comfortably. "And have I told you yet that I'm so desperately in love with you?"
You thought it over, "Only like three times since we sat down," you teased.
"Haha, very funny." He booped the tip of your nose. "I'm still gonna tell you again. I love you. I mean it. I really, really do."
You hummed and leaned in to press a quick kiss to his cheek "I love you, too, rockstar." His hand rested on the back of yout head and he smoothly brought you to his lips, kissing you nice and slow, a soft gasp eliciting your mouth when his teeth sunk in your bottom lip.
"Hey!" Andrew threw an empty water bottle at the two of you, "We're in public! Keep it in your pants, maybe?" He said as you separated from your boyfriend, your face feeling hot.
Shawn shook his head, laughing, placing his tattooed hand on your thigh. "They're never allowed to come anywhere with us ever again."
"Definitely not," you agreed.

The walk back to the car consisted of Shawn running around aimlessly with you on his back and you laughing uncontrollably into his shoulder.
"Why were we never that cute?" You heard Teddy ask Emily when Shawn set you down and just as quickly picked you back up bridal style and once again started running around like a maniac.
"It's ten o'clock! Calm down, eh?" Andrew suggested.
Shawn ignored him and placed a chaste kiss on your neck. "Come on, Andrew. You never been in love before?" He asked, finally putting you back on the ground, but keeping hold of your hand and spinning you around once, pulling you back to his chest so that you were walking - stumbling, would be a more accurate description - synchronously.
Once back to the hotel, you all went separate ways. Andrew and Josiah went up to bed, Teddy and Emily went to the bar, and you and Shawn went to the pool after changing into your bathing suits. "Hey," he whispered into your hair while you walked casually against the edge of the pool.
Your eyes fluttered open to look at your beautiful boy. "Hmm?" Your hands found purchase in his curls.
He reached out and grabbed the back of youd thighs, and you wrapped them around his waist. "Thank you for today." He pressed a soft kiss to your temple and slowly started trailing them down to the base of your throat.
"I had fun," you managed to breathe out before his teeth grazed your collar bone. "Oh," you moaned softly.
"You looked beautiful today. Couldn't take my eyes off you." His kisses trailed even lower and his hands slipped under the strings of you top.
"Really?" You giggled. "I hadn't noticed."
"I want you," he murmured into your chest, slickly untying your top.
You squealed and hit his arm, "Babe! We're in public!"
He looked around at the completely empty poolside, "Oh yeah, people are definitely gonna say something." His hands cupped your breasts and your eyes closed at the contact.
"Shawn, please," you said into his neck.
"You wanna go to the room?" He asked, his left hand inching it's way to your bikini bottoms.
You gulped and nodded when his fingers met your unexposed skin. "Now, please."

Breathing heavily, he pressed a gentle kiss to your lips as climbed off him. "Thank you, baby. So good to me."
You could only hum in response. Catching your breath, you found his hand and played with his fingers for a little bit before you felt yourself growing more and more sleepy. "I love you," you muttered, rolling onto your side.
"I love you," he said back, curling his arm around your waist. Laying beneath the sheets, with his arm wrapped around your naked body, you knew there was no place on earth you'd rather be.
