"Where the hell did Laz put it? Jesus." You hissed quietly under your breath, back aching from the time you spent crouched or bent over searching for the damn bottle of whiskey Lazaros had hidden for his own personal use after his mother had forbidden him from drinking in front of customers, not that the bar got any, to begin with, given Lazaros... unique singing and Sophia's often stern nature. "Next time I see him, I'm gonna-"
"(Y/N)! I've been looking everywhere for you, boy! Come meet our new singer." Sophia's voice sliced through the air, demanding and attention-grabbing as always, prompting you to flinch and lift your head only to slam right into the underside of the counter.
"Ow, fuck-"
"Language, (Y/N)." Sophia tsked as you properly wiggled out from under the counter and straightened up, one hand rubbing the sore spot on the back of your head. You heaved a sigh and spun on your heel, eyes drifting over the rather empty bar while you made your way to the end of the counter and finally took in the new singer.
And she seemed just as surprised as you.
"(Y/N)?" A breathless, surprised, and giddy laugh escaped her as her eyes widened into saucers, the jaw-dropped look almost comical. You stared back at her in silence, your mind trying to piece together how your spunky ex from college managed to find you on a semi-remote Greek island. Donna moved first, practically throwing herself over the counter to wrap her arms around your shoulders. "I can't believe you're here! In Kalokairi, of all places! I mean, I know you mentioned you wanted to travel around Greece but I never expected the first place I visited to be where you were staying!"
"You know each other?" Sophia questioned, one brow arched as she watched Donna wiggle off the counter and plant her feet firmly back on the floor. Donna nodded excitedly in return, brushing some of her loose curls away from her face and laughing again.
"Yeah! We, uh.. dated briefly in college and then... (Y/N) graduated and..." Donna trailed off, her fingers toying with a ring on her hand. Her teeth dug down into her bottom lip, a dejected look briefly appearing in her eyes. "We broke off. Totally mutual." She assured Sophia with a forceful laugh and you winced when you caught the squinty-eyed look Sophia shot your way.
"Good, good. This means you'll get along, right? That's good." Sophia pursed her lips, the look in her eye telling you that you'd receive an earful later. Donna had a way of making people like her, making them care for her. It seemed her charms even wormed their way into the stern, always straight-faced Sophia. "Feel free to warm up on the stage. I'm sure my son is... somewhere around here."
"Oh, Laz went to see if Korianna would take him back. Again. With the whole band."
"Ugh, God," Sophia sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of her nose and heading toward the back doors to retrieve her son from his ex's porch again. You watched her go, withholding the urge to snort until she was out of earshot and out the door. Turning back to Donna, you licked your lips and cleared your throat.
"Uhm... I'm sure you know your way around here. The band will be back soon but, as Sophia said, you can warm up in the meantime. I'm sure you'll bring in customers without them, though." You offered her a smile and glanced over your shoulder, eyeing the selection of drinks you could offer her. "Do you want a beer? Wine? Ouzo?"
"Maybe later." Donna dismissed with a wave of her hand, her brown eyes slowly raking over you. "You... you look really good. I'm happy for you. I never thought I'd find you here. I thought you'd be putting that law degree into use in Greece, not working in a bar in the middle of the ocean. What- What do your parents think about it?"
"And you haven't changed a bit." It was comforting, at the very least, to know Donna hadn't changed her spunky, adventurous nature despite the time that'd passed. She still sported her typical vibrant, almost hippie-esque clothes and was still a singer. She'd always performed wherever they let her back when you'd been attending Oxford. England, Bristol, Reading. At any place in dire need of entertainment, Donna and the Dynamos would show up and show out. "What does the Ruby Sheridan think of her daughter coming to a small, basically unknown island to sing for the locals? This isn't Las Vegas, you know."
"Well, she doesn't think anything of it 'cause she doesn't know. Like always, she didn't bother showing up to my graduation." Donna rolled her eyes, head shaking slightly, but you caught the hurt that appeared on her face. Despite every complaint, every huff and puff, and insult she threw at her mother, Donna never stopped caring or hoping for Ruby to turn a loving eye toward her. "I went to Paris, you know. Sang there a night or two but something was telling me to come here... to come to you, I guess."
"Maybe if I'd said Spain instead of Greece, that something would've pulled you to Ibiza or Tenerife."
"Maybe," Donna repeated softly, bracing her arms against the counter, her curls tumbling over her shoulders and framing her face perfectly. She traced random shapes into the wood with her fingertip, eyes jumping between looking at you and staring at the counter. "Do... do you ever think about what happened between us? Two years is a long time. Longest relationship I've ever been in."
You pursed your lips and sighed, leaning against the counter and crossing your arms over your chest, head tilting toward some of the fishermen stepping into the bar for their evening beer before they headed back out into the water. You acknowledged them with a nod and fixed up their usual drinks, feeling Donna's eyes locked on your every move. You returned once finished and finally looked her back in the eye. "Sometimes. I- I don't really know what to make of it, Donna. My parents always said it was some whirlwind thing that wouldn't last in 'the real world' and your friends always said it was fated. I was... confused, I guess. I told my family I needed a break and heard of this island when I was in Chania so I came here, found a job and a place to live."
"I just wished you would've waited for me. You know I would've said yes to traveling, to anything, with you."
"I'm sorry." You apologized softly, reaching out to curl your fingers around her arm gently. "I'm glad you're here, though. I think you'll really like this place."

Our fandom forbearers did NOT suffer through Anne Rice, strikethrough, and other bullshit for fucking ACOTAR and Harry Potter fans to fucking ruin it for all of us by selling fanfiction. I am not losing novel length yaoi epics because some of you don't know how to act in fannish spaces and yes I do blame the booktokification of fanfic but I also blame those of you that treat fandom like content to consume and not a community to engage with.

For period pieces, would definitely recommend Downton Abbey.
I've got my eye on a few period pieces like Black Sails, Tudors, Medici, Reign (rewatching at least), etc! I'll add it to the list of things to watch.

🤷‍♀️What's a fic you didn't expect to be popular, but really took off?
Probably between Under The Moonlight or Midnight Beach.
Vikings: Valhalla doesn't seem super popular on tumblr so i was iffy about it getting good reception but seeing pretty buff men does things to people 💀
As for Midnight Beach... I considered it more of a filler/getting back in the writing mood series that became a chore because of how little I enjoyed s3. I've had issues w the series before but seeing how rushed and how little care was put into the last season really threw off my motivation for it. I'm not very excited or looking forward toward s4.

The rapid, insistent knocking on the front door echoed throughout the house, eliciting a groan from you as you tugged the headphones off your head and stood up from the couch. You headed down the short hall toward the front door and unlocked it, tossing it open without bothering to check the peephole. Your brows immediately furrowed at the group standing on your porch, their faces too familiar and consistent in your life to forget. The Pogues.
"Uh, hey, (Y/N)!" Pope greeted, dropping his curled fist and shoving it in the pocket of his shorts. Your eyes flickered over to JJ, watching him slowly set the small cat statue back in its place with an awkward, sheepish smile. Your gaze moved away from the reckless blonde, trailing over the rest of the Pogues until they settled on Sarah fucking Cameron. She stared back at you with lips drawn in a tight-lipped smile.
"Not interested." You told them and began closing the door, only for Pope to stick his leg in the gap and push back against it. You groaned again and relented, releasing the door and crossing your arms over your chest with a small scowl. Pope smiled innocently and cleared his throat, removing his leg from the doorway and glancing back at his friends. "Ya'll selling Girl Scout cookies or what?"
"No, actually," Pope laughed awkwardly. "We, uh... well, you see-"
"We need something from your great-aunt, (Y/N). Mrs. Crain? We- We were wondering if you could help us get on her property... without... dying... like her husband." Kiara swiftly cut in but her confidence bubbled down tremendously. You raised your brows, lips slowly curling upward into a half-amused half-bitter smile.
"And why the hell would I help a bunch of strangers and my ex-girlfriend?" You questioned and relished in the shocked looks that passed over each of their faces, apart from Sarah, of course. She dipped her head immediately, fingers brushing through her golden locks as she forcibly cleared her throat and tugged her hand free from John B's.
"Well...  this is a little awkward I have to admit," JJ muttered, scratching his temple and sucking his teeth. "We, uh, we did not know that."
"Yeah, I figured." You glanced at him before settling your attention on Sarah, lifting a brow at her when she refused to meet your gaze. "How long did it take you to find someone new? After, you know, you cheated on me with Topper Thornton and then broke up with him? To be honest, I knew you'd be dating him eventually. You've always loved a little chaos, haven't you, Sarah?"
Pope glanced back at his friend and pursed his lips before he took a small step to shield her from your scathing glare. "Uhm, well, you two can chat about this later, I guess. Like J said, we didn't know. We just came here for a favor-"
"I know how you idiots work, Heyward. I do this and you'll be coming back whenever it's convenient. Like I said," You grabbed the door handle again and shot them a fake smile, shutting the door right in their faces after uttering, "Not interested."

Hmm, I'd have to say in regards to series, Green Thumb will always hold a special place in my heart (even if old and cringy), The Sun and Moon, andd Forgotten Fairytale which I plan to revamp and continue at some point!
For stuff apart from series, the headcanons for Jake Sully and Neytiri and the Quinn-Goldbergs were pretty fun to write.

A million things ran through Beth's mind as she furiously tried lighting her cigarette but the damn flame refused to flicker for longer than a second. Her mother, Benny Watts, Harry, Cleo, Bargov, Bargov, Bargov, they all consumed her every waking moment. Her hangover thumped violently in her head, the consequences of spending the whole day drinking whatever she could get her hands on the day prior, yet another thing distracting her. She wanted to scream. She wanted to cry. She wanted to break the damn lighter and-
"Beth?" The flame flickered, lighting her cigarette as a new voice sent a chill down her spine. Familiar, oh so familiar. A voice she so often thought about, dreamt about even. Her arms dropped to her side, pulling the cigarette along as she shakily exhaled a cloud of smoke into the crisp morning air. Her tongue swiped over her lips and she turned to face him. He was no longer a boy. He was a young man now.
"(Y/N)." She greeted, her eyes dropping to scan his figure. He wore a cozy-looking long-sleeved sweater and his coat draped over his arm. He looked grown, obliviously, but it startled how mature he appeared. No longer the sly jock who smoked with her behind the school and listened to her explain chess without teasing her or trying to change her. Her former second biggest fan - her first biggest fan would always be Alma, her beautiful complicated adoptive mother -, her first kiss, her first time, her first heartbreak. "You look... good." She hadn't intended for it to come out so bitter.
"You changed your hair." (Y/N) smiled, that damned smile that'd made her heart skip a beat when she'd first seen it directed at her in the hallway at school. His gaze lifted to her red locks, mostly blocked by the beanie she wore. She'd barely brushed it that morning, only raked her fingers through it and when it refused to comply she'd opted for covering it. "It suits you, Beth. It's- It's good seeing you."
She looked a mess, she realized, and bit her tongue. Beth smiled, forcibly and awkwardly, and took another drag from her cigarette to ease her jittering nerves. Not even Benny Watts had that sort of effect on her, even with his fluffy hair and cheeky smile. "I didn't think you'd still live around here. You said you wanted to leave this place and never come back."
"I did leave. For college, I mean. I came back after graduating." He explained with a casual shrug. Of course, he had his life together. Beth hummed absentmindedly and nodded, rolling the cigarette between her index and middle fingers as she tried shoving down all the 'what ifs' desperately trying to rise. "I hear you've made quite the name for yourself, Beth. I'm happy for you."
"You weren't so happy when I had to attend tournaments." The words tumbled out quickly, far too fast for her to shut her mouth before she got the sentence out. (Y/N)'s smile faltered slightly and he chuckled dryly, something that made her wince. But all the inconveniences that'd piled up had put her in too of a bad mood to even think about apologizing.
"Yeah, it doesn't help you chose a tournament over being here when my father passed, Beth. When I needed you most, you were gone. I think most people would be upset over that, don't you?" Beth pressed her lips together and she nodded, her gaze dropping down onto the pavement beneath her feet.
"Yeah, I... I was a lousy partner." She admitted quietly. "I didn't mean to... I didn't mean to hurt you, (Y/N). Really. I- I just-"
"It's fine, Beth. It's in the past. We were kids. I never thought we'd end up as high school sweethearts, anyway." It stung to hear, especially when Alma had teased her about him being 'the one'. She nodded, forcing another tight-lipped smile in feigned agreeance and taking a long drag from her cigarette before dropping it on the floor and stepping on the end. She exhaled the smoke and motioned toward the building.
"Are you here for someone?" For her?
"Yeah, actually, my..." He paused. "My, uhm, my fiancée's nephew is actually competing today. She's out of town so she asked me to, uhm... show some support, I guess."
Fiancée. God, it'd felt like she'd been sucker-punched. "Oh." She simply blurted out in response, her mouth refusing to form any other words. (Y/N) nodded, releasing a breathy laugh as if her world hadn't suddenly turned on its axis. There'd always been a part of her that believed they'd find each other again, that he'd attend a tournament and they'd catch up only to begin their romance all over again.
"I could... I could see about getting you an invitation if you'd like? It'd be... nice to have you there, Beth."
"Yeah, of course, I'm... I'm happy for you." What a lie.

Hii!
I have a question, i see you sometimes reposting prompts and later people request them but you requests are closed, so i guess what i am asking is if we are allowed to ask for a prompt and give it a character or am i just misunderstanding the situation
Thank u!
Hello!!
Requests are closed for fic series, imagines, and headcanons!
However, when I repost things like word prompts or sentence starters (like the ex lovers starters), it's because I'd like for people to send in sentences and a character since I don't really consider those as requests.

Imagine:
Being visited by Bucky Barnes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Request: Yes or No
Pronouns: Gender Neutral! Reader, They/Them/Theirs
~~~
You listened to a mixture of the radio's music station, the news on the television, and the lively city outside your apartment where the honking of cars and overlapping sound of chatter created a song of its own. You spared the TV a glance before returning your attention to the clothes scattered around the bed, sorting through them and folding each article. It still felt odd, in some way, to return to a normal life after years of being kept busy with S.H.I.E.L.D. So many missions, so many close calls, so many enemies. You could hardly recall the distant, fuzzy memories of your life before becoming an agent. It'd all been so different back then.
Your fingers curled around a small shirt and you raised it up, fondly gazing over the Captain America t-shirt your son had begged you to buy a few weeks prior. Your little reason for leaving the agent's life behind, to ensure he'd never become collateral damage or just another civilian casualty. Still, the news of his existence had been the only reason you left. If it'd been up to you, you would've continued working alongside Nick Fury and the Avengers team. But life forged another path for you.
With a soft sigh, you folded up his shirt and set it atop his pile of clothes. You scooped them up into your arms and headed toward his bedroom, delicately setting the small tower of clothes on the bed. The sound of the dryer stopped and you hummed quietly to yourself, stepping out of his room and making your way through the apartment to the small laundry room, picking up the basket along the way. You set the basket down and popped open the dryer, crouching down and tugging the warm, dried clothes into the basket until the dryer was empty. You slipped your fingers around the handles and rose, only to flinch at the sight of the figure watching you. The basket slipped from your hands, landing on the ground with a soft thump as you instinctively backed up. Your mind flickered through the various spots where you'd hidden different guns and knives before finally recognizing the man.
"You need a better security system," Bucky murmured, his arms folded over his chest as his gaze trailed over the hallway he stood in. You inhaled deeply, pressing a hand to your chest and feeling your heart thumping wildly, the beginning of a headache creeping in from the scare.
"Christ, Barnes," You exhaled, rubbing your fingertips over your forehead. "I have a front door."
"Didn't want to start rumors that could get back to your boy." He responded with a light shrug, his vibrant blue eyes returning to your figure. "Cute kid, by the way. It's a good thing he takes after you."
You pursed your lips and rolled your eyes, noting the way the corner of his lips quirked up into a faint amused smile. "Yeah, whatever, Barnes. Why are you here, anyway? You couldn't have given me a call?" You asked him, picking the basket back up from the floor and stepping out into the hallway.
"I don't have your number," Bucky said, following you to the living room and arching a brow when you dumped the clothes over the couch. He tore his attention away from the mess to focus on you again and cleared his throat. "I am no longer the Winter Soldier. I am James 'Bucky' Barnes, and you're part of my efforts to make amends. As per my pardon... and therapy sessions, I am to make amends with those I've hurt and fix the things I did as the Winter Soldier."
"You broke into my apartment-"
"The window by the fire escape was unlocked. I'd hardly call it breaking in. Like I said, you need a better security system." You squinted at him. Bucky sighed heavily. "Yes, I broke into your apartment."
"Uh-huh, so, you did that to... apologize? For what, exactly? Shooting at me? Dislocating my shoulder? Nearly breaking my leg? Trying to kill my boss and coworkers?"
"All- All of that. I... I was in the neighborhood and you were on my list. I thought I'd stop by and apologize for the damage I caused or could've caused." Bucky explained, reaching into the pocket of his coat and pulling out a small notebook. He slipped the pen out from the spiral and flipped through the pages until he stopped on one and crossed something out. With that done, he tucked it back into his coat. "I was actually hoping I could make it up to you."
"Yeah?" You raised your brows at him and began sorting through your laundry, shaking your head lightly at the whole ordeal. "And how exactly are you planning to do that, Barnes?"
"This isn't exactly how I'd do this typically but... I thought I could take you out to dinner."
