A/N Glad I got the first one right! I've mostly written this as generally parental to keep stuff more gn, but reader is definitely more maternal than paternal.

I love this prompt sm. Toriel is such a sweetheart, and I feel like a reader who's like her would be a massive help to the cast and their progress of redemption.

Cw: SFW, technically gn but I use the words 'mum or dad' to refer to reader, platonic, kinda hurt/comfort in parts, suggestive in Angel's, references to cannibalism in Alastor's and Rosie's

Charlie

- Charlie would love you so much.

- She's got absolutely horrendous unresolved parental issues from both parents, so she would attach to you so quickly.

- If you tell her how wonderful of a job she's doing and that you are proud of her as a warm, caretaking parental-like figure, then she's gonna be bawling like an absolute baby.

- You want an unofficially adopted daughter?

- When you bake her the pie, she will feel years of ignoring her damaged inner child absolutely smack into her at once.

- Runs over to you and just grips onto your shirt as she bawls into your shoulder, saying thank you over and over again and apologising for crying. Probably accidentally calls you mum or dad as you're there hugging her and is then super embarrassed after it.

- After that? Yeah, she just keeps calling you mum or dad accidentally. It just becomes habitual at some point, and everyone else in the hotel just kinda accepts it.

- I can see her unconsciously calling you mum or dad on the phone to Lucifer himself and Lucifer going nuts about it, thinking she's either talking about Alastor or Lilith has come back.

- It'll just be the Alastor shenanigans all over again, but when Lucifer actually sees you, he can't even be mad.

- You offer him tea and stuff you've made for his visit, and he's just there angrily stuffing his face while slightly crying because he's trying so hard to stay mad, but Charlie looks so happy as she talks animatedly about him to you and you're so genuinely sweet unlike Alastor.

- He's also lacking a massive spot missing in himself that Lilith left that you could fill.

- ... Want an unofficial adopted husband, too?

Vaggie

- At first, she really doesnt like you.

- Nah, she hates you straight up.

- Finds how you act for a demon to be greatly untrustworthy, and she's very defensive because she thinks you're just another Alastor who's trying to get close to Charlie to potentially harm her.

- After a while, though, she sees you are just genuinely a deeply abnormal demon as compared to what she's seen.

- Then she quickly warms up to you.

- She never thought she had any kind of missing parent spot in her heart, being an ex exterminator and all, but oh boy, was she wrong.

- She's never experienced any kind of presence like yours - as an exterminator, she didn't have parents.

- And because of that, she's suddenly found herself unable to stop crying for some reason as you hugged her and told her she's doing a really good job protecting everyone.

- She's never had that in this way. Charlie is, of course, supportive but not in a way that's parental.

- If you tell anyone about her crying in your arms, she says she will deny it and end you.

- When you offer her the pie, she doesn't break down like Charlie, but she's so happy. Has googly eyes about it and is fighting tears as you come and hug her.

- Very much appreciates you and all you do, in a much less 'going to start actually calling you mum/dad' way, though.

- Does somewhat attach to you like that however.

- Absolutely becomes particularly protective over you.

Angel Dust

- You vex him so greatly.

- At first, he thinks it's some kind of roleplay thing you were trying to get him to play out, and he's not into it at all.

- Downplays it if you're male with a; "Well, I'm not usually into that kinda calling people daddy, but -"

- Straight up tells reader he's not into that if reader isn't male, however.

- Is even more confused when you are horrified he thinks you're trying to bed him.

- All his years of coming across terrible people have made him avoid you like the plague, he doesn't trust you because you're just so?? Weird?

- Thinks you're trying to break his walls down with kindness so you can take advantage of him, so his guard is literally always all the way up with you.

- He cracks a bit, though, when he's had a rough night and you find him sitting on the lounge in the TV room with his head in his hands.

- You bring him a slice of the butterscotch cinnamon pie, hearing he likes sweet things, and some tea with a painkiller on the side of the plate.

- When he says thank you hesitantly, you just smile and hum before leaving.

- After that, he starts to warm to you.

- You help to patch him up if he ever gets injured and take care of him when he comes home wasted.

- When you patch him up/take care of him, you sometimes help brush his fur out, and he loves that a lot.

- Will lie about not liking it, though. He's not meant to like soft affection. It goes against his persona he tries to put on.

- The way he leans into your touch though whenever you do this is very telling.

Husk

- He doesn't like you at all.

- Finds the way you treat him deeply unsettling and borderline humiliating, and wishes you would just leave him alone.

- He's a grown man, he doesn't want to be treated like someone's kid - especially some random.

- When you back off, he's thankful for it.

- He appreciates when you do smaller gestures for him though that are less parental/ emotional and are more just practical.

- If you help him clean up, give him stuff to eat while he's working, volunteer to massage his shoulders, etc. He's happy.

- When you give him some of the butterscotch cinnamon pie, he's gonna bitch he doesn't like sweet things but he'll be lying about not liking it.

- Probably will try to recreate the recipe in secret late at night.

- Absolutely mortified when you find him absolutely covered in flour with a mixing bowl in his hands after hearing him sneeze loudly.

- The ingredients on the bench very clearly match what would be in a butterscotch cinnamon pie.

- When you say he could have just asked you what the recipe was, he gets incredibly defensive and vehemently denies it.

- You wave him off apologising for 'assuming wrong', then leave him to continue what he totally wasn't doing.

- He gives up after that and goes to bed rather embarrassed, getting caught on his bs.

- He's extra embarrassed when the next day he finds the recipe written on a piece of paper slid under his room's door.

- He acts like he doesn't like you still, but it's an absolute lie.

Sir Pentious

- Deeply paranoid about you in the beginning, naturally.

- He finds the way you act extremely strange and the way it makes him feel even stranger, so he avoids you for a while.

- One night when he thinks you're asleep he comes to look longingly at you like with other members of the hotel.

- Only to find you are not asleep at all, and are just reading late into the night, lost in a book.

- He inwardly curses and tries to leave, but the floorboards outside of the door creak with his movement, and he's mortified, anticipating getting the living crap beaten out of him.

- Is surprised when you smile at him and beckon him over instead, though, asking him what he's doing up so late.

- Slowly comes over to you and sits down next to you hesitantly. He's still anticipating a beating, but figures if he does what you ask he will receive less of one.

- You of course don't, and your soft nature sweeps him in. His tired and secretly touch starved self is very quickly falling asleep curled against you.

- After that, he quickly warms up to you, finding your caring, affectionate nature very much something he's missing and wants.

- When you serve him the cinnamon and butterscotch pie, he goes very weepy about it. He doesn't really like sweet things that much, but he's so soft about the gesture.

- Would probably be one to attach to you hard as a parent-figure as well. Would never allow himself to call you mum or dad though.

-If he does, it's mumbled out while he's very tired and not thinking while snuggled against you.

- One of his eggs hears this and later addresses it, and he's absolutely horrified.

Alastor

- He's another person who's particularly fond of you for the get-go.

- He has a surprising soft spot for people who act parent-like - especially when it's more on the motherly kind of side of things.

- So, from day one, he's treating you much more genuinely nicely than he usually would other people.

- He would never in a million years act like the others do with you. However, he certainly does not shy away from you doting upon him.

- He'd accept tea and pastries (even though they aren’t exactly to his usual tastes), as well as the affection and praise you give out liberally graciously with a smile and warmness that is not as forced as it is with others.

- But he would certainly never allow himself to become attached enough to you to see you like a parent to him. He's got one parent, and you could never replace her.

- When you come out with the butterscotch cinnamon pie, looking all homely and soft with it in your hands, he feels himself smile widely and let's out a laugh that's so lacking of the usual mocking/underlying bad intent that it would surprise the listener.

- Happy to tell you about his day each time he comes home over tea.

- Of course he doesn't discuss anything under surface level things, though he certainly likes the smalltalk you bring to the table.

- You may be able to crack his outward persona a little bit and get him to very vaguely touch upon what's going on with him under the surface, but even then, it's never truly honest or obvious as to what his true thoughts are.

- When he has the breakdown in the final episode, he particularly avoids you afterwards as he just knows he'd risk letting his walls down too much around you.

Niffty

- Another one who absolutely loves you from day one.

- You let her put on puppet shows with the dead insects she kills and compliment her messed up collections and art, though you do push her towards less sadistic/unhinged forms of entertainment.

- She doesn't stop what she does, of course, but she will take up some of what you recommend. Usually in a very twisted way though.

- ie. 'paintings of butterflies', but it's actual butterflies mixed with other insects like a messed up form of taxidermy all glued down onto a page.

- Likes having you around to do the mopping and vacuuming around the hotel with her.

- She of course helps with the work, but she particularly enjoys sliding full speed across the floor while it's wet towards you and watching you panic as you scramble to catch her.

- Also likes to sit on the vacuum cleaner when you use it talking about anything and everything.

- You usually both end up absolutely covered in soapy water by the end of cleaning.

- She also likes the meals and desserts you make for her very much.

- When you bring out the pie, she's sitting down and kicking her legs excitedly as she looks at it as you bring her a slice.

- After shes done, she's going over to you and is sitting in your lap while kicking her feet even more excitedly and cuddling up against you, basking in your hugs while giggling.

- Absolutely calls you mum or mama. Regardless of your gender, you'd be getting called mum by her.

Rosie

- Pleasantly surprised to meet a sinner like you.

- You two get on like a house on fire the second you meet.

- She's of course cordial, but it's much less forced around you, and she feels a lot more easy going around someone like you.

- She's absolutely beaming in every meeting you have and absolutely adores being around you at all points.

- She finds how you instantly try to take care of everyone around you - including her - absolutely endearing and extremely cute.

- Loves having tea with you and Alastor.

- It's not often she can find someone who is unafraid enough to have tea with not only her but also Al, so she's absolutely elated. Most people are scared for obvious reasons to dine with cannibals.

- Normally, she would turn down the kind of food you make, but she just cannot bring herself to.

- You're too sweet to say no to in her books.

- She's somewhat hesitant to try it like with most of what you bring when you bring out the pie, but is delighted when she does.

- Truly loves it, and your gestures are just so absolutely lovely to her.

- Doesn't attach to you as a parental figure at all, but certainly does love having you as a friend.

- She absolutely tries to dote on you in the same way you do with her.

- A bit hesitant to start cooking more normal dishes though, so she ends up asking you to cook with her.

- She's surprised at how fun it is to cook with you.

- Rosie and you end up starting to bake or prepare desserts for your teatime sessions with Al. It quickly becomes an activity she absolutely cherishes.

🎀Agere Gangle: Its kind of obvious and she's not oblivious to it or in denial. She loves agere and finds it comfty and safe. She loves to draw for hours and have playdates with Pomni (she actually convinces Pomni its ok and to do it.)

I HC her caretaker as Zooble, who can be romantic or platonic! I just think Zooble would be a good caretaker for her.

📐Caretaker Zooble: Zooble is...meh about it on the surface. They don't care and they don't think they need to be so public about it. But once in the headspace, they're kind of like...a cigerette mom? Where they're sarcastic about everything, and they question almost all of your choices with a specific type of judgementalness...but they really care and if anyone (Jax) fucks with their baby, it's gonna go down.

Having Gangle as their little really opens up a protective side they didn't know they had in them. Beating the shit outta Jax becomes a more common occurence.

🤹🏻‍♀️Agere Pomni: Pomni is def in denial, and it takes a LOT of convincing from Gangle (and gentle coaxing from Ragatha telling her it's ok) to really let themselves get into it. She is very shy and anxious about it. At first she was paranoid about others finding out (namely Jax), but one Jax finds out and she becomes accustomed to...him, she really gets into. I feel Ragatha would be the best caretaker, whether platonic or romantic (altho I personally lean towards romantic!)

🔪Caretaker Ragatha: (Knife emoji is for a few reasons haha) I've seen everyone under the sun HC Ragatha as a caretaker...and so they've pretty much already said everything and I agree! Gentle, loving, sweet, but also firm and no nonsense. Her and Jax get into a LOT of fights over the littles...like, a lot. It's like watching two parents at a sports event scuffle over whose kid is better.

♟Grandpa Kinger: I HC Kinger as a grandpa figure. He isn't really a caretaker, but he spoils the littles and plays along with everyone whether he actually knows whats going on or not. Def lets them hide in his pillow fortress, whether to play in, sleep in, or be naughty and hide from their caretakers in. Teaches them about insects...plays silly games with them...etc.

🐇Caretaker Jax: OK...this one is purely for me and I have a lot amusing scenarios with Jax in which I think he'd be a fun and unique type of caretaker...So hear me out...(Since I don't see him as a caretaker for anyone in the circus, section will be xreader, sorry! I made him a caretaker for me, but if anyone does read this and enjoys it...here you go.)

It'd start with him finding out about you being an agere. And in typical Jax fashion, he would mock, berate, and tease the hell out of you every single chance he got. He would def make you cry and be paranoid, because he would go through your room and nitpick anything and everything he found.

Slowly though, and I mean SO slowly you wouldn't even notice it was happening...he would insert himself as your caretaker. Like, I'm talking he would just find amusement in teasing you and playing the part, making you upset and then saying shit like "what, aren't I a good daddy?" when he "helps" you fix the problem he caused...or sushing you by sticking a paci in your mouth, or threatening to spank you if you annoy him just a tad.

He would eventually just. Go to the playdates and sit between Zooble and Ragatha and just...start pretending he's your parent. Behind your back. You wouldn't realize he's doing this or talking about you in this way for awhile. You'd only realize it one day, when you Pomni and Gangle are having a fun competition, and you hear Jax yell at the others about how "his kids the best and gonna win", or some sports dad shit.

You don't know how to confront him, TBH...I'll let you insert how you'd personally confront him.

He's super teasing, loves having excuses to "punish" you (usually puts you in a poorly made baby jail), and acts like a mix between a deadbeat dad who only intercepts when he feels like it, and a protective dad who feels like he has to fight everyone about you being better than all the other "brats".

(Sorry the Jax part is so long, I just have lots of feelings about it...and IK the fandom would see "caretaker Jax" and laugh at how absurd that is which is fair, it's meant to be absurd! That's part of the fun and why I enjoy the idea so much.)

Anyways...yeah...that's it...just need HCs for Caine and Bubble and I'll be set....Sorry for how long this is and if you for some reason decided to read it...wow.

Finally got to this, so sorry for the wait!!

Random HC's I Probably Overexplain - Rook Edition 1

TW: Hoarding (obviously), health issues, parentification of his older sister, dead (exotic) pet First things first, Rook is the youngest of seven. His mother has always been one who stays home, enjoying the art of taxidermy and studying the physiology of animals, where his father has always been more of a hunter. Like I mentioned in my Family HC's, Rook is very close with his mother, as she taught him to appreciate the sacrifice of death in order to sustain the circle of life. However, that 16 year gap between Rook and his siblings made her realize just how much stuff she had gotten rid of over the years that were testaments to her kids childhoods. As her kids started to move out and leave home, panic started to set in and she couldn't bring herself to get rid of any of their things that really, should have been thrown out. She tried to keep it all organized, but when her husband gently suggested they start going through it all, taking photos of what they didn't need, she broke down and refused, telling him it wasn't the same as having a physical copy of it all. Her husband backed down - after all, he was barely at home. He could deal with the mess for the few days he would stay home for the sake of the comfort of his wife, and his time out in the woods meant that his kids had another place to be as the house seemed to squeeze them out...even though that was the last thing his wife wanted.

Rook was a surprise, to say the least, but once his mother was pregnant with him, her nesting only went to 11 and it was the snapping point for one of the two kids still living at home. The elder of the two packed their bags, left a note tacked to one of her taxidermy animals, and went no contact, leaving their 16 year old sister and baby brother behind.

Rook's older sister couldn't bear the thought of Rook growing up in the environment her mother had made for him, and decided that at least until she was 18, she would stay and try to clean, as well as keep record of what the house used to look like so that maybe one day, she could restore it completely. However, when her mother caught her trying to clean the kitchen enough to try and cook, her mother broke down in tears. Her father told her that if she stressed her mother out too much, she would be solely responsible if the baby died. Because of this, she stopped cleaning, but vowed to stay to try and be a buffer for her brother, as well as get him his basic education if nothing else.

Postpartum depression ended up hitting Mrs. Hunt really hard, and once her husband confirmed his daughter was comfortable taking care of Rook for a few hours at a time, he spent his time trying to take care of his wife.

Rook and his sister ended up spending a lot of their time outside or in her room - which, she had finally been allowed to get rid of things she didn't want anymore as she was able to reason with her mother that the baby should at least have a cleaner area to crawl as he got older. This ended up being even more beneficial, as his crib was in her room and she became the primary caretaker for him. During this time, her parents were just trying to keep her mom from giving up on everything.

When Rook was about two, their mother finally tried to reach out to a company that would help her clean, however, because the family lived off the grid, they had some money, but not enough for the job that was required. Rook's sister gently volunteered to start cleaning, but at this point, her father had also gotten used to the "cozy" feeling of having his kid's belongings all around him and struggled with the idea of having anything change, especially as his wife was just starting to get better, he thought changing her environment wouldn't be beneficial for her.

So Rook's sister respected her parent's decision and continued trying to take care of Rook to the best of her ability, however, she did so outside as often as possible, so in the winter when she had to stay inside with him, they would both get incredibly ill from black mold exposure. Her parents wrote it off as a cold, so her tipping point was when he couldn't breathe, even when she wrapped him up and took him outside. She swaddled him as best she could and trekked on foot to the nearest town, knocked on the first door she could get to, and begged for assistance for him. The people in the home drove them both to the hospital, where he was treated for his symptoms, and she was treated for frostbite. Her dad ended up tracking them down, acting glad to see them, but on the way home reprimanded her for pretending to be Rook's parent and for not letting the family handle it themselves, and making sure she didn't tell anyone about the situation at home.

As Rook got older, his sister took on the responsibility of getting him into school, as well as teaching him how to hunt/fish and general survival skills, the way her father had taught her. This type of influence kinda snapped her dad out of his agoraphobia and he started trying to get more involved with Rook and raising him, still out of the house. When Rook was about nine, his sister and mom got into a huge argument, and her mother blamed her for being the reason she wasn't close with her son. Rook then de-escalated the situation by showing his mother he had been reading her old research journals. While it wasn't a lot, it was enough for his mom to get her workspace back. His sister helped her clean and organize that space to the best of her ability, his father started to hunt more often again, and his mother started to lead him through the importance of the circle of life. As balance started to seep back into their lives, his older sister started feeling more comfortable leaving Rook in the care of her parents and really get to start her own life. She still feels guilt for leaving, but she promised Rook to stay penpals and they did! She would regularly send him trinkets from her stays wherever she was, and often sent photos of her visiting with their other big siblings, telling him one day she would come back for him and bring him to see the rest of the world. That was all Rook had to hang on to as his parents started to spiral again now that another child had left the house.

When Rook was about 12, his father brought home a hyacinth macaw for him, (yes by unethical means, but you knew that), and he found it absolutely gorgeous. He loved that bird more than anything, so when it went missing one day, he was absolutely heartbroken. He ended up finding the poor bird weeks later, stuck behind some books on his mother's bookshelf. His mother saw it as an excellent opportunity to brighten up the home with a splash of colour by getting Rook to taxidermy his beloved pet. After that day, he decided pets were overrated - animals were meant for food, for study, or for trophies and that was it.

It's not that he doesn't have good memories of his parents, there were certainly really high highs, but there were also very low lows. His parents haven't gotten much better in the house they live in, and he's gone minimal contact with them. He's still trying to get over the feeling of abandonment his sister left him with, but doesn't blame her for leaving. Overall, talking about home and family is just painful for him, so he'd rather not. He likes to watch people because he fantasizes about what his life could have been like if he were in their shoes instead.

Disclaimer: Most of my ideas are a bit scattered so I apologize for the messy layout, I’ll try my best to keep it coherent. Also, this is not all of them I don’t want this to be overly long

Background:

The AU takes place in Roach’s family ranch where all three members have been discharged from duty.

In this AU, because I like happiness, there is no war over the horizon and is simply a group of people living their lives out on the rolling plains of either Texas or Tennessee— I’m leaning more towards Texas just because I know more about the agriculture of the Texas plains.

In this AU, the 141 & Co simply live their lives from either being retired/discharged/etc. While everyone is involved (except for Shepherd, eat shit and die Shepherd), they all do their own thing but primary attention is mainly on GhostRoachSoap

Roach (+ extended background):

Roach and his other 5 siblings have the ranch under their and their parent’s name. He and two of his siblings, the youngest and the second oldest, are more active in taking care of the ranch's needs now that their parents are well into their ages. The other three help ever so often with more minor things but they have their own families to tend to and his parents don't actually live in the ranch anymore (again, due to age) and live closer to the city.

Roach, however, is the main caretaker for the ranch. He spends the most time on the land and is often alone, that was until Ghost and Soap came

Headcanons;

His accent left when he joined the army. Came back tenfold after a week on the ranch.

Has a collection of cowboy hats and each one serves a purpose (although his favorite is his very worn-out Cattleman that he leaves by the front door to take on his way out)

Expert horse rider. I'm not saying you would see this man at the Rodeo, but he’s had his fair share of bucking broncos, and not ONCE has he been bucked off.

Though there are horses on the ranch, his horse is Estella— a Chestnut American Quarter Horse with three white socks (forelegs + right hind leg) and a star + stripe. She loves to chew on people’s clothes if they turn their backs on her.

Has slept in the barn before (multiple times) and regrets it every time (wouldn’t recommend it, very lumpy and you WILL wake up with straw in places you don’t want it to be)

LOVES cattle work, and hates paperwork 💀 (he lets Ghost, and his two other siblings take care of it) due to this, he is good at reading the animals and knowing when something is wrong!

Are good friends with the vet! (It’s his ex 💀) (They broke amicably though so it’s okay!!) (“So, like, when I kiss you??…. it’s gross” “OH thank God, I thought it was only me")

Gets SOOO distracted when Soap is picking the hay bales. Bff short circuits for a good minute before Ella gets miffed at him and throws her head back

Cows > sheep (will make an exception for baby lambs tho)

Soap:

Along with Ghost, realistically both would not actually retire in some rural Texas town but because I can, let's say they decided to retire to some rural Texas town.

Soap is the most recent member to the farm and took to it like a duck to water. (We'll ignore the times he forgot to lock the chicken coop). He was on active duty but after a close call that was too close to comfort, he decided that maybe it was time to retire. Price is the one that mentioned the ranch to him, although at the time he did not know it was a ranch.

All Price told him was “if you are looking for something a little different, take a look here" and looking he went.

Headcanons:

Not on the friendliest terms with the cattle dogs but boy do they LOVE him (they’ve tried to herd him multiple times and have succeeded) (he cusses both Ghost and Roach out for watching and letting it happen)

Loves the nitty gritty work. Hay bales? Check. Cleaning the stables? On it. Shearing the sheep? The Clippers are all warmed up already. If there’s a job that involves getting his hands dirty, he is the first in line

Sheep > cows

His horse is a Buckskin American Quarter Horse that he very proudly named Buck. This name came after Roach told him the color of his coat but was reinforced when Soap tried riding him and was almost bucked off. They became the best of pals after that, and Buck occasionally tries to nibble Soap’s mohawk for fun.

His favorite chore is feeding the animals! He loves watching them all flock to their food and munch away. He doesn't find it much of a chore as it fills him with such joy to see all the creatures he cares for flourish.

Gagged the first, second, and third time he saw a sheep give birth. Man has seen a soldier’s leg come clean off from a bomb and recovered in less than 5 minutes but BIRTH? Get the bucket ready.

Ghost:

Discharged after a mission had gone wrong, Ghost had no idea where to go. With no family to go back to and no friends to crash with, civilian life was looking very bleak until Price came to him with a plane ticket and an address to some rural town in Texas.

Ranch life was… different for Ghost. It wasn’t bad per say, and he can’t really find much to complain about, but it was just different. It is... steadier? softer? he's not too sure but at least it lets him sleep easier at night.

It took him and Roach a while to find a rhythm. It wasn’t easy and it was very awkward at first but eventually they were able to settle on something unique for them that worked out.

Headcanons:

Sheep > cows

He likes to roam around with the LGDs. He greatly respects their jobs and has grown a soft spot for them. He knows he’s not supposed to distract them, but he just can’t help himself and always gives them a good belly rub.

Became good friends with the farrier. Farrier does most of the talking but Ghost will join in here and there. He really likes learning about the Farrier's different methods and likes to watch him work on the horses. (Lowkey thinking about making Jackson the farrier bc why not)

One of my favorite personal hc's about Ghost is that he is shit at naming things so yeah, he named his horse, Horse. Roach almost took his horse privileges away because of it but anyway, his horse is not an AQH like Roach/Soap but is instead one of the two draft horses the ranch has! His horse is Blue Roan Clydesdale with a very splotchy coat that loves peppermints and loves napping her days away (she’s had three kids alright she deserves it)

Genuinely enjoys doing the ranch paperwork. Sure, he has to ask Roach here and there where some of the stuff is at but honestly? Could spend hours reading and organizing the books and such. He's very interested in the topics discussed.

Earliest riser. His favorite time of the day is just before the sun peaks over the horizon where everything is blue and foggy, where condensation sits on his skin, when the crickets are still chirping, and when the mourning doves are softly cooing. Roach wakes up soon after him.

Munkustrap for the ask game? 🥺

1. Canon I outright reject

I CANNOT find the post but there's this one Jack Rebaldi interview where he mentions something about how 'no one likes Munkustrap because he's the leader and nobody really likes the guy always giving you orders' and as much as I love Jack Rebaldi's Munk I just don't agree with that interpretation. Everybody loves Munk. To Me.

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on

On the flip side of Munk actor interviews, Michael Gruber saying

'[Munk is] entrusted with giving the information to the other, maybe younger cats who have not been to the Jellicle Ball before. He gets up and says exactly what they're here to do. He's also caretaker of the kittens. He wants to make sure everybody's safe; in all the Macavity scares, he's there to protect the tribe. So he is the protector'

about Munk is really fundamental for me and how I see Munk, Munk's role in the tribe, and Munk's role in the story.

3. Obscure headcanon

His owner is an old unmarried lady who lives in an apartment by herself; she calls him Felix and he feels responsible for her bc she 'has no colony'.

4. Favorite line

Michael Gruber's American-ass delivery of 'or hairier' in Pekes is my favorite comedy moment in any and all versions of Cats I've seen, it gets me every time.

5. Best personality trait

He cares, deeply and personally, about pretty much everyone, and never hesitates to put himself out there to assist if someone needs it. He's a natural leader and a quick decision maker even under pressure, but he's still patient and compassionate with everyone he meets-- even when he's stressed or angry, he still makes efforts to be kind.

6. Worst personality trait

Munk physically cannot remove himself from a situation if he thinks he's needed, even if he's actively making it worse. He also is one of those people who refuses to let people just vent at him and tries to solve everyone's problems even if they don't want a solution to their problem.

7. Age/height/weight headcanon

Munk is shorter than Tugger but significantly stronger than him, so he can just scoop Tugger up in a fireman's carry and remove him from a situation if he's being annoying.

8. Unpopular opinion about them

Honestly I think I'm even more normie about Munk than about Tugger. I don't think I have any truly unpopular hot takes about him.

9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character

I do love his part of Jenny's song-- the way he's singing directly to the kittens on the ground, and his section of the song has this lullaby feeling to it that's just so calming and tender. I really love how for that song it's a duet (sort of) between a young dude and an older lady, but the older lady gets the snappy upbeat part and the younger dude gets the slow & sweet part. It really just establishes Munk as this soft and nurturing figure from the beginning.

10. Best moment on screen (or in the book)

Bway revival Macavity fight imo. It's just so damn good.

11. Faceclaim for the role

Michael Gruber is rlly my Munk, even the unique shape of his wig in 98 sticks out to me as a Fundamental Munk Thing™.

In human aus he's kind of this lighter-skinned 'racially ambiguous' kind of guy with dark hair, smile lines, a little bit of stubble, and a frequently worn sweater vest.

12. Crack headcanon

I feel like his human version would be a Beyonce fan, but like in the cringiest middle-aged-dad way possible.

13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done

Munk's always been a pretty level-headed and mature guy, even when he was young, so there isn't much that he's done that I can label as 'stupid' except perhaps jumping into dangerous situations to protect someone without considering his own safety first. My hc for how Plato joined the Junkyard starts with Munk running straight into traffic on a busy street bc he saw baby Plato abandoned between two lanes and petrified from fear.

Random ass kitten Munk had never seen before in his life, and he charged right into mortal danger without a second's thought about it. Brave, but also stupid.

14. Most heroic moment

Munk's doing heroic shit all the time. My previous answer is actually a good example, plus, you know, he's tangled with Macavity more than once.

15. Worst thing they’ve ever done

Munkustrap Has Never Done Anything Wrong, Ever, In His Entire Life.

16. Deepest darkest secret they won’t even admit to themselves

I don't know if this is 'never admit to himself' levels but Munk wonders a lot if he shares some blame for how Macavity ended up. He and Mac grew up together, and while he always knew his older brother had a temper, he really and truly thought Mac was just rough around the edges, and that he really did care about Munk and the rest of the tribe deep down. But when Macavity betrayed the tribe and started doing Evil Deeds, Munk was left wondering if Macavity had always been rotten deep down, and hid it from all of them for all those years, or if he'd just.... snapped somehow, from the pressure of being Deuteronomy's heir, or something, and maybe there was something Munk could have done to help him before things got too bad.

As is, Munk may never know.

17. Quotes, songs, poems, etc. that I associate with them

Stress & setting too-high standards for himself, probably.

Never resting, for one. He basically never gets enough sleep. It's funny, in my human aus both Tugger and Mac suffer from insomnia, but Munk is oftentimes just as sleep deprived as those two despite being the only Deut bro without insomnia, just because he's always doing things. That man is responding to his work emails at 1:24AM for no goddamn reason.

He's got plenty of scars, most of them not huge, but he's been in all sorts of fights and even if asked he wouldn't even be able to identify how or when he got them.

I think he drinks wine in one scene in my human/celeb/soulmate fic, otherwise he's a real coffee man.

I don't know what other cats would consider his best feature! By cat standards Munk is a handsome dude, but kind of in a normal, average way. Just, you know, a handsome guy you'd see on the street. Honestly I think his general vibes are his most attractive trait, though that's not physical. But nobody in all the world can look at a large muscular man being sweet and cute and patient with little kids and go 'nah 3/10 for me'.

23. If they were a scented candle, what would they smell like?

I'm thinking like... forest or campfire or something like that.

24. Most annoying habit

Asking someone to complete a task for him and then changing his mind and completing it himself before they can get to it.

Munk I think is a pretty boring character as far as getting-stuck-in-an-elevator shenanigans go. Except for Macavity, that would probably be interesting. Anyone else would probably just be the two trying to escape together and then rock paper scissors for the next six hours.

27. Their guilty pleasure

Human Munk probably has a variety of snackies he considers guilty pleasures, like special chocolates or whatever. Cat Munk would probably say it's 'oh sometimes I go off somewhere in the Junkyard by myself and just sit for a while and enjoy the silence' and the person he's talking to is like THATS NOT A GUILTY PLEASURE THATS JUST KEEPING YOURSELF SANE

28. How they feel about [insert character of your choice from the same fandom]

I headcanon Jemima as being Bomba and Macavity's daughter, though this is a fact Bomba very much keeps to herself-- she's only admitted it to two people and Munk is not one of them. However Munk.... has eyes & he's perfectly aware of who Jemima's father is, though he's never gotten Bomba to actually admit it. This kind of creates a. .. . not 'weird' relationship, but a kind-of sad one, because Munkustrap knows he's this delightful little girl's uncle but she doesn't know it in return, and her finding out will probably be more devastating than anything, because it would come with the knowledge of who her father is.

So Munk just kind of has to treat Jemima just like he does the rest of the kittens and keep the knowledge of their relationship to himself, though he's always wanted a big family.

29. Eating habits

Munk is a Deuteronomy, so in both cat and human aus he can eat for fucking forever. Human Munk likes to cook and bake as well, and he and Demeter make their dinner together every afternoon, and very rarely order takeout.

30. Sleeping habits

Whoops, I already talked about this. He doesn't sleep as much as he should, but he sleeps soundly whenever he does get around to putting his head down.

31. If the had a tumblr what would it look like?

Probably politics. Plus some pictures or art or such that he finds interesting.

Kittens being cute will very easily get a smile out of him, though he doesn't laugh-laugh terribly often. One thing people don't know about him is that Tugger suffering something that he 1000% brought upon himself absolutely will get an evil grin or two out of Munk.

Just like Tugger's answer, Deuteronomy's death. Munk's not a big crier I don't think, but when he does cry he's usually pretty quiet.

Most of these I think would result in Munk throwing himself into his work with vigor to get his mind off of the Bad Feelings. Munk's not quick to anger but he is quick to calm down after an outburst, and his excitement is usually going to be expressed through singing or dancing.

This man will honestly be like 'yeah the perfect day would be a bunch of relaxation with my tribemates watching the kittens play and so on and so forth' and then refuse to stop working for ten minutes to make it happen.

Late winter/early spring, the time of the Jellicle Ball and the incoming of the warm season.

37. What they really think about themselves

Munk struggles a lot wondering if he makes the right decisions as a leader and measures himself up to Deuteronomy all the time. He really wishes he could do more even though he's already always busy, and worries a lot whether the trust that the tribe places in him is justified.

Christmas bitch. Probably also a thanksgiving bitch as well.

Epileptic!Ellie Headcanons

I have epilepsy (a disorder that causes seizures) and I absolutely adore projecting my struggles into Ellie 😂

After the Fireflies perform a brain biopsy on Ellie, the scar tissue causes her to develop epilepsy. Joel, of course, is an excellent caretaker. Here are my headcanons for Epileptic!Ellie

The first time Ellie has a seizure is in the hospital with the fireflies and Joel predictably loses his mind. When the doctors finally come to the diagnosis of epilepsy, he is FURIOUS.

“You did this to her. You and your goddamn tests.”

“We explained that there were risks—“

Joel can’t help it, his fist flies and the doctor is knocked to the floor. He stalks over to him, grabbing him by the collar of his white coat.

“You said that it was safe and now my baby girl is gonna have seizures for the rest of her life. The only reason you’re alive is cause you’re the only ones that can treat her.” He drops the grip on the doctor’s coat with a shove. “It’s your lucky fucking day.”

When Ellie wakes up from her seizures and she’s still confused/disoriented, she calls Joel “dad.” At first it’s accidental, just a Freudian slip, but then she starts doing it on purpose because she feels like it’s the only time she can get away with it. Joel assumes she doesn’t even remember doing it.

“Easy, easy. You had a seizure but you’re alright. I got you.”

“Dad?” She says drowsily.

“H-Hey baby girl,” he falters, unable to help the way tears come to his eyes, “I’m right here.”

Ellie keeps her diagnosis top secret. She hates her epilepsy. She hates that her body betrays her and makes her lose control. Being vulnerable like that goes against her deeply rooted survival instinct.

Ellie is terrified that people will think she is infected when she has seizures. If people see her convulsing and then notice the bite scar on her arm, she is totally fucked. She burns her scars off with drain cleaner two weeks after getting to Jackson (Joel freaks the fuck out when he finds her in the bathroom screaming as the chemicals scald her skin).

It’s important to time her seizures, the doctors tell Joel. He needs to give Ellie a rescue medication if they are over five minutes long.

There’s a guy in town, Herold, who’s always tinkering. He’s known for fixing up little electronics and things. Joel takes a walk over to the man’s workshop.

“Say, Herold—What do you know about fixing watches?”

TWST: Fates AU

※For clarification the Fates I'm referring to is Fire Emblem Fates and not Fate/Grand Order!

An AU in which Malleus was kidnapped as a baby in retaliation to a human prince baby going missing.

This AU is currently imperfect because I got this while getting ready to buy breakfast so I will be addressing plot holes and such after I write down the main plot points. Also I know Malleus's grandma's name has been revealed and I do know it. However for the sake of the EN server player (I am one too sjjsjs), I will not be using it!

Headcanons:

-When Malleus was kidnapped, the queen was overcome by grieve from losing her last blood relative

-No war has ever come out of it however since it wasn't ever proven if a human or a fae kidnapped her grandchild

-She adopted Silver as her grandson given that they are similar in age

-Malleus was raised by (diurnal/light) faes (idk how Twisted Wonderland's world works, if it works like the ones in Sleeping Beauty, essentially he is Aurora lmao)

-When Malleus is of age to go to high school, this can go one of two ways. He's either enrolled to Night Raven College where Lilia would recognize the missing prince or he's enrolled to Royal Sword Academy where Lilia spotted him during interscholastic spelldrive competition

-If he was enrolled to NRC, Lilia would drag Malleus back to Briar Valley which he wouldn't need much convincing to budge since his caretakers had told him that he's living with them because his real parents went missing

-If he was enrolled to RSA, Lilia would need to kidnap the poor student back to Briar Valley

-If Malleus was enrolled to RSA, Lilia would be Housewarden whereas Sebek the Vice Housewarden. Originally I wanted to make Silver Housewarden but he's usually a no-show because he fell asleep or Lilia is usually there with him during the Housewarden meeting because he's asleep. I think either works so pick your fave lmao

-Sebek probably view humans differently now that his master is a human??? Although I'm not too sure how much he respects him though considering that Silver could sleep anywhere and everywhere

-Although Silver and Malleus are referred to as Silver and Malleus in this HC, I'm pretty sure in the AU they go by different names seeing that Malleus have been taken in by new guardians and Silver has been adopted by the queen

Plot holes:

-How did Malleus get kidnapped without being spotted???

-Initially his guardians were a human couple which I think would work but it would be very complicated to raise a dragon fae as a human so I went with the Malleus is Aurora route instead

-Since I initially wanted to make Malleus grow up as royalty in the human kingdom, I thought that Malleus would probably be bullied for having horns, pointed ears and slit pupils

-So if MC/Yuu was to be transported during this hectic period in Twisted Wonderland and Malleus is for some reason, still attending NRC, he would be very touched by how sincere and kind MC/Yuu is to him

-Malleus's and Silver's birthdates stays the same so basically Malleus is a few months older than Silver but they're still the same age

-I'm pretty sure there's plenty but I can't remember jsjsjsjs

I'm so happy people love my rise! Hcs, so I'd figure I'd share my hcs for rc9gn as well.

Randy-

He believes in Judaism like Howard's family, he started to study it and follow the religion because of the weinermens as well. He hasn't told his family yet because they follow a different religion and want him to follow it(the Japanese religion Shinto).

His dad's away on work trips a lot, it's why he brings up his mom so much, she's the one always around.

His mom works as a caretaker for young kids(like Marci did), she's in her own head a lot so Randy can often get away with a lot.

Randy sometimes does dumb crap to cheer someone up(can't cry if you're laughing at him).

I joke about him being blood thirsty but in all honesty I don't think he is, he'd kill out of necessity but even then he be merciful(to people, animals/beasts are free game). And even then he wouldn't like it. A "I did what I had to" kinda situation.

Mature for his age due to his parents being busy most of the time.

Nothing wrong with weinerham as a ship(I just want to make that clear) but personally, I think they'd see each other more as brothers, I think Randy associates the whole weinermen family into his own, AGAIN there is nothing wrong with shipping weinerham! What i am saying is mere opinion, please Don't use this to attack anyone!.

Has called Mort dad before, it was a great moment for Mort.

Considers Mort and First ninja as father figures, in their own right. Not that he doesn't care for his bio dad, they all help him in some parental way, Mort being the comforting force, First ninja the motivating one and his bio dad being fun loving one.

Is very proud of his Japanese culture, his dad would make him study the language, history, and mythology, which was the one type of teaching he liked.

Is Very protective and clingy when he's in love.

Gets physically violent if mad enough (see: Raiders of the lost nomicon scene with bash as that's where I got the idea) which is why he tries to restrain his emotions.

First ninja studied every method, fighting technique, rages etc. From his brothers, he wanted to be as good as them someday.

The dragon fist move he does in "13th century Ninja" is a move only he can do. his brothers had moves exclusive to each of them as well.

It bothers him about his anger, he wants to teach himself to calm down but it's difficult, given the situations he often finds himself in.

Gets as jealous as Randy if ploplop gets other friends, it's like a yandere but in a more platonic way.

Him and Slimovitz would be pals i think.

LOVES SHARP THINGS, WEAPONS, KNIVES, THEY MAKE HIS SQUARE HEAD GO BRRR.

Used to head butt and bite his opponents, until his eldest brother demanded he stop.

Those "top 5 unsolved mysteries" videos are flooded on Shoobtube, almost all of them talk about norrisville. Norrisvilians watch them to laugh at since there always because of a stanking or robot.

People outside of norrisville are mixed about The ninja, some are grateful he saves at least one town, others wish he would extend his heroism.

I thought I'd go ahead and share my headcanons and head-backstory for Vanilla Ice! I've visited his wiki multiple times and there's not that much on there so I went ahead and made stuff up heheh (keep in mind I will not be angry or upset if you don't share the same/similar hcs, this is all kind of personal to me anyway ^^")

• Vanilla was given up for adoption as a baby because his parents couldn't take care of him

Edit: My pronouns have changed to he/him and xe/xem only, and I am more masc now! The sapphire heartverse fic is finished and the story below has been changed drastically!

[The Sapphire Heartverse takes place in modern times because it's a nonsensical universe where all the characters are in the same place at the same time. However, these headcanons are also for the 80's Vanilla]

• His life in the orphanage was very difficult. The caretakers didn't like him or any of the other children. They were very neglected and abused. The caretakers would make him do chores until he passed out.

• Vanilla's real name is Ezekiel. "Vanilla" was a nickname given to him as a child by a woman who wanted to adopt him. She brought him icecream one day and he wouldn't want to have any other flavor but vanilla, he was a picky eater enough as it is. He had it all over his face and was having the most fun he'd ever had in his life. The woman thought he was the sweetest thing in the world so nicknamed him "Vanilla Icecream". Adoption can be a difficult process and just when he was about to be adopted, she was murdered while getting mugged. The caretakers made fun of him for mourning her and things got even worse after that.

• Vanilla has similar trauma to what I've gone through and that's all I'm going to say. This, plus all the other abuse and neglect, caused him to be extremely clingy and willing to do anything for affection. He felt numb and agony at the same time.

• At times it felt like Cream was his only friend. Cream is the physical manifestation of the endless void in his heart. No matter what or how much Cream consumes, he is still starving and cannot be satisfied, much like a prita from folklore. This shows how much Vanilla is starving for affection of any kind. [I'm not entirely sure canonically if he was born with his stand or if he got shot with the stand arrow. I've seen that in the game, Heritage For The Future, when Alessi turns him into a child, Vanilla still has his stand and he looks absolutely adorable. This could be canon or could be strictly for the fight. I also do not have access to HFTF at the moment, so all I have to go off of is Google searches.]

• Vanilla got kicked out as soon as he became a legal adult. He was homeless for a while until he worked up enough money to be able to bathe and eat better and get new clothes. Vanilla found out about Dio and how he could pay good money in exchange for a live-in servant. Dio knew right away that Vanilla was the one.

• Vanilla lived there for a while and became a very very loyal servant. He was paid well and got to eat, drink clean water, and a warm place to sleep. Vanilla devoted his life to serving Dio and finally felt that void in his heart be filled. He showered Dio with love and did everything he was told. Vanilla fell head over heels in love with Dio.

• Dio would praise him, compliment him, rub his head as Vanilla kneeled, and of course, they would both engage in adult activities. Dio could count on Vanilla to do anything and everything asked or commanded.

• Vanilla was the maid, the cook, the guard dog, he was pretty much a caring house husband for Dio and he loved every second of it.

• Everything changed when Dio wanted a live-in commissioner to draw and paint pictures of him whenever he pleased.

• Vanilla reacted neutrally to Tippy at first, but... Dio started praising that boy more often than he would with Vanilla. Poor Vans felt so jealous and upset and strongly disliked Tippy and thus the petty rivalry was born

• One day, Dio commanded Vanilla to protect Tippy and guard him with his life because he didn't want anything to happen to his precious little commissioner. Vanilla felt like he was going to scream!!

• Tippy wasn't very thrilled with this idea either. In fact he would use his stand, Sapphire Heart, frequently to get away from situations he didn't want to be in. The power is called invisibreak.

• That little blue haired rascal would often pull pranks, cause trouble, mildly vandalize things, steal candy, and has even made friends with Jonathan Joestar's disembodied head in the fridge.

• Vanilla was stressed out and exhausted from all of the annoying antics. He decided to give Tippy a good scolding, but the blue haired menace disappeared using invisibreak. Vanilla thought that Tippy could teleport, but.... He turned around and saw them lying face down on the ground completely unconscious.

• Vanilla was confused at first but then he started to panic when they wouldn't wake up. He listened to their chest and they were still breathing, their heart was still beating, everything was fine. Vanilla picked them up and carried them to a couch in hopes that everything would be okay and Dio wouldn't be upset with him.

• When Tippy came to, Vanilla asked frantically what the hell just happened and why did they pass out. Tippy explained that sometimes when they turn invisible and intangible for too long, they lose so much energy they pass out. It clicked for Vanilla. When he used to use Cream to move around, he would pass out too.

• Vanilla decided to train Tippy on how to use their stand better. Dio caught them both training and told Vanilla it's a good idea to teach Tippy more about his stand and to train him to fight.

• Over time, Vanilla would train Tippy but always win because they just didn't want to fight. Vanilla has even physically pinned them down before, and it was met with laughter. One day Tippy got bold and accidentally sliced off Vanilla's right bang with Sapphire's diamond spear. Oh, Vanilla was pissed.

• For quite some time it was Vanilla being fed up with Tippy's pranks and jokes, and Tippy pranking or running away from Vanilla after he had caused mischief.

• Though.... As much as Vanilla didn't want to admit it, protecting and watching over Tippy has been the most fun he's ever had in his life!

• One day Tippy got sick and tried to play it cool. Vanilla wasn't having any of that, he made sure they were resting in bed, drinking fluids, and ate. Vanilla enjoyed fussing over Tippy, even when they told him he didn't need to.

• They have always been foils for each other. Vanilla is more strict and serious while following all the rules to the letter, while Tippy is more rebellious and chaotic and always wanting to crack a joke out of nowhere. But together they are unstoppable

• Dio had experimented on them using a fusion spell. That turned them into Blue-Raspberry Snowcone, or Razz for short. He is the fusion of Vanilla and Tippy and is extremely powerful but extremely unstable and could accidentally hurt himself if not careful. (I'll go into detail about that one day)

• After a while, something happened. Vanilla couldn't hear a peep out of Tippy and was wondering what was going on. Soon he found them silently crying in the hallway. He couldn't even tell they were crying until they looked up at him. Vanilla's heart shattered, he's never seen Tippy cry before. They talked it out and Vanilla started to like them a lot more after that.

• Soon Vanilla developed strong feelings towards Tippy, but hated the fact he did. Vanilla had the biggest crush on that boy and couldn't handle it

• When some people started making fun of Tippy behind his back, Vanilla became enraged and scared them off. He soon grew more protective of that young man, more than he would ever think possible. Vanilla used to do the bare minimum of protection, but now he's always on guard.

• Vanilla will put his arm out to make sure Tippy doesn't go near danger, he instinctively steps in front of them to shield them, he opens things for them, he reaches off the top shelf for them, he does anything he can to make sure they're safe and don't get hurt.

• All the other agents started to notice that Vanilla would smile a lot more and the way he would look at Tippy. Even Dio noticed and he totally shipped it oh my gawd-

• Everyone knew about Vanilla's crush but Tippy. Well, about that... Tippy actually vented to Jonathan about having a crush on Vanilla waaaaay back then. Jonathan would listen to Tippy talk constantly about Vanilla, while being carried around the mansion or sitting on the desk where he worked.

• Tippy would tell Jonathan everything. How he thinks Vanilla's cute, he likes the fact he trips over his own feet, how pretty Vanilla's hair is, how he can't look him in the eyes because he thinks they're so pretty, how he likes the way he laughs, how good Vanilla is at using his stand, how he protects him, how talented he is at drawing as well, how tall he is, how muscular, how he never breaks a promise, Vanilla's hobbies including making his own heart shaped jewelry. Tippy went on and on to Jonathan about how cool he thinks Vanilla is and how he really likes him... And that's why he keeps messing with him, pulling pranks or causing mischief for his attention, and trying to make him laugh.

• So one day, Vanilla decided it would be a good idea to put this to rest and tell Tippy how he really feels. He couldn't exactly do it so he just asked to hang out at the mall instead heheh!

• It was a date... They even touched hands on accident and it was so awkward, their faces were hot. Vanilla noticed Tippy was blushing very much and had hope. They both went somewhere a bit more private and Vanilla confessed his feelings... Tippy tried to say that he likes him back but it came out weird. In the heat of the moment, Tippy pulled Vanilla by the shirt and kissed him. Vanilla was shocked at first but he soon gave a passionate kiss back.

we all know that Dem is the #1 mom!!! During the first few weeks she was at the Junkyard, Jemima never left her sight, and rarely left her arms. She really only trusted Bombalurina and Jennyanydots to hold her little kitten, though Munkustrap became one of the special few.

Demeter absolutely adored hearing her baby babbling before she could speak. She was the mom who listened to Jemima's little mews and sounds and turn them into a full conversation

Jemima's obviously a huge mama's girl, so whenever Demeter went out and about in the Junkyard, Jemima was right there behind her, holding onto her tail and toddling around with her paw in her mouth.

Demeter always knows exactly what Jemima needs, whether it's a lullaby, a nap, a cuddle, or a talk. She has an intuition about her baby.

When Jemima gets older, Demeter doesn't dissuade her from asking questions about Macavity, and that honesty is one of the reasons their relationship continues to be so strong.

Bomba:

while i don't personally hc Bombalurina having any kittens of her own, she really sees all the kittens as hers in a way (going off of the idea that the Jellicles as a whole raise the kittens. they know who their parents are, but it's very much a "it takes a village to raise a child" type of society!)

she's the MOST protective over all the kittens, but Etcetera has a special place in her heart. given that she's Bomba's youngest sister, their relationship makes sense, but it's so much deeper than just a sister bond.

I've spoken before about Electra being closest to Demeter, but Etcetera is Bomba's. from the moment she met the excitable baby kitten after returning home, Bomba immediately took to her.

She taught Etcetera everything, from how to dance, to hunt, to play fight

Bomba and Etcetera are inseparable, and Bomba would do anything to protect her little kitten.

Victoria:

Vicki is the BEST mama!!!

Zelda is very much a daddy's girl, but Thalia takes after her mother.

Victoria encourages her girls to go out of their comfort zone and to do what makes them happy, and that's especially true in Thalia's case.

Thalia was born blind, so Victoria is a little extra protective over her youngest, but she doesn't overdo it. Since Thalia also has magic, Victoria makes sure to help her work on it with Mistoffelees.

Victoria and Zelda have a very special relationship as well, though, and Victoria has little dance lessons with her oldest, always making sure she has time for both of her beloved daughters.

Jemima:

OK FIRST BLESS YOU I NEVER GET TO TALK ABOUT JEMIMA AND HER KIDS!!!!

The moment Jemima met Ramona on her way home from visiting Jennyanydots, her entire world changed. Then, when she met Tate, Jemima immediately took them both under her wing and into her den. It was sort of a gradual "ok so I've gone from caretaker to protector and to mother and we're okay with that" sort of thing.

Jemima's actually one of the first to realize that Tate is Aloisa's new life, but she makes sure that her kitten isn't overwhelmed. His dreams are usually flashes of the other lives Aloisa's lived, so Jemima is always mindful of that and talks to him every morning.

Ramona has a lot of nightmares about her time on the street, so Jemima, like her own mother, always sings her lullabies whenever she wakes up, and she does not hesitate to bring her kittens in for a nighttime cuddle if either of them wake up.

After meeting Ramona and Tate for the first time, Jemima enters the Junkyard like "I've only had Ramona and Tate for a day and a half, but if anything were to happen to them, I'd kill everyone in this Junkyard and then myself"

He rambles about how each member of his family helped grow his skills and abilities. His father (Vaddy) is a blacksmith, so he knows how to discern good metals, good weapons for certain applications.

His twin older sisters (Yasdia and Vierna) taught him how to fight, how to sneak, how to do sleight of hand, how to craft weapons and poisons. They taught him the ins and outs of the dangerous trades and those connected to it, taught him the languages known in the trades.

His mother (Mumu) imparted some wisdom about her time as a poisoner, he could remember her foraging for specific species of plants and mushrooms, the murmured instructions as she pounded her mortar and pestle.

Then came various mentors and colleagues over the years as he went into the bounty trade. If going by the time he's been in the trades, he had the introduction of the assassin trade at 14 years old before fully committing to the bounty trade at 16 and then on. But overall, it was simply part of his childhood.

8. Does your Tav have any pets?

He breathes out a fondness, smile reaching his eyes. "Not many. Back in my early days, an old friend and bounty partner was given a loris as a gift from his deity. It wasn't exactly my pet, but I was the primary caretaker of Lor Jr when I put in a group with him."

There's some clarifying questions about this odd pet before he continues. "Then there were these two cats--" There's a reminiscing tone in his voice. "Mer, my deceased husband, and I took care of. The white one was Cushy, and the black one was Wishy. They just reminded us of each other, they were so cute..."

More recalling about those cats before moving on. "We've had a handful of other cats throughout the years, but we also had a lot of dogs. Beau, my other husband, grew up with them. But he always had a, kind of a...? Druidic? dog companion? His name is Boloo :)" He shifts to tuck his legs underneath him. "Jr comes and goes, but we did end up having hamsters, mice, rats, more cats, a stray ungulate? ever since having three daughters and a son."

23. Share any hcs/anything you want to say about your Tav’s backstory

He thinks about a fun fact to leave the audience with, ponderng intensely. "Did you know... I went to a spelljamming academy for a couple months?" Upon seeing our shocked surprise, he explains. "It was probably years after Mer passed away... My friend Syretia suggested applying to the academy, even would recommend me too. It was, what...? Only about a little over a month of training?" He does an unsure waving of his hand, face considering. "But after getting froze to death in a simulation and nearly getting charmed by a mindflayer--" (Aren't elves immuned to getting charmed?) He gives an unsure gesture. "I decided it wasn't for me and returned back to our world."

So reading your reply was so exciting! Getting more insight as to how + why you wrote Marc and Rebecca the way you did was super interesting!! Also I totally agree - while Rebecca is clearly a very strong person, she is human and had a very tough life which would make anyone vulnerable to abuse! Now, I have read all your TF boys headcanons bc they are just SOOO good. I truly want to praise every word, but that seemed like it would make the ask way too long so I just licked some highlights:

Benny having struggled with bulimia bc of his athletic background was such a genius way to incorporate his characterisation and to write one of the most heartbrakingly realistic aspects of mental health struggles, which is that when it happens to someone you love it can feel so different from how it feels when it's haopening to you. Like SO so often when we hear negative self-talk from friends it is to say "that's not true" but when we look at ourselves the negative things we think feel like it's just the truth. The way Benny was basically doing the same thing but with bulimia (it's "justified" when he does it but he can't figure out for the life of him why his partner, whom he thinks if so highly, would do such a thing) was such a well thought-out detail.

Will being extra excited about the pie in the acts of service love language headcanon? ADORABLE

Hello again!!!! so happy to hear from you!

As far as life update, im getting through it. I saw a childhood friend the other day which was nice. She and I have known each other for like 16 years and despite each of of moving around we've managed to see each other like once a year or more. This year we've about an hour and a half apart but she went to visit her mom and we met up for coffee with her new baby so that was nice. I told her I wasnt myself and didnth think i'd be good company, but she said she wanted to see my if i was up for it, weather or not i'd be "fun." She also brought me a lil care packege and I got to hold her two month old baby <3

Hoping to make it to shabbat tomorrow which i think will be nice, haven't been able to go since Rosh Hashanah

Every kind of person can fall victim to abuse, and I appreciate Marc's defense of her and caretaking but still trying to allow her her dignity. Like in chapter 3 at the end, Steven meeting Becca he was trying to hard to make her feel welcomed, take away her worries like paying for things but that's not what Rebecca wants. She wants to be indipendant and relying on Marc is embaressing to her.

You mentioned before that you wanted to check out leather and lace, and 0 pressure but the fun thing with that is it's a whole universe, so if you choose to keep going, after that is Frankie's story, and im currently working on Will's, then Benny's. It'll be touched on in Will's story but come up more in Benny's, his struggle with bulimia. I think about these boys a lot and have a lot of hc's that are canon to me, like benny having a drinking problem and eating disorder, Frankie loving grunge, Sant always has an older sister to me and the Miller boy's dad was abusive.

So since Antonio was "an animal guy" before getting his gift, it implies that gifts are related to the person's personality/interests. So here are some headcanons based on that...

This one was confirmed on Twitter apparently, but Julieta was always the caretaker. I hc that she also always loved cooking, and used to watch Alma in the kitchen and follow her around to be her "helper". She would also be the emotional support for her siblings, and would try to comfort Alma if she saw she was sad

Pepa felt her emotions very strongly, and would always be very vocal about how she was feeling. Little 4-year-old Pepa would be stomping around the house like "I'm very mad!" Her emotions could change very quickly though

Bruno was very good at reading people. He was incredibly observant, and was able to make connections between cause and effect very easily. He would take it upon himself to vocalize these concerns, such as "that cup is about to fall" or "if you keep doing that you will get hurt".

Isabela had a fascination with plants, and enjoyed the many pretty colours of the flowers. If any of the townspeople had a garden, she would sit and stare at the plants for hours. Sometimes Agustin would take her into the forest so she could look at the plants. She would always come home with a handpicked bouquet of wild flowers for Alma

Dolores always wanted to be "in the know". She liked knowing exactly what was going on at all times, and hated feeling like she was left out. If she heard the grownups talking but she didn't understand a word, she would ask them to say it again. If the grownups were having private conversations, she would try and eavesdrop on them

Luisa always wanted to be the helper. She was constantly running around the house trying to be useful, and she'd take pride when one of the grownups thanked her. She was also very protective of Camilo and Mirabel when they were babies, and she decided it was her job to keep them safe (usually meaning she would sit and watch them play, driving away anyone who dared risk knocking over their little block tower)

Camilo was a little comedian. He liked making people laugh, and he found a good way to do that was impressions. While he couldn't always get the voices right, his tone and intonation were precise. When he was very little, he would pick a grownup and follow them around the house, mimicking their actions
