I think it would be fun if there were more characters who are obviously self-centered and have a comically superfluously high opinion of themselves, but in a way that's somehow just genuinely wholesome. Like they just genuinely think they are personally the best and brightest person alive, but the implied thought of everyone else being less and inferior doesn't cross their mind. They're too focused on personally being adorable to be worrying about other peoples' business like that.

Like this character is introduced in such a ridiculously outlandish and flashy way that makes both the audience and the other characters assume this is one of those "why is this guy even popular at all" kind of Smarmy Supposedly Sexy Scumbag characters, but then it turns out that they're just. Genuinely like that. Not a toxic and evil monster hiding behind a thin veneer of external charm, or a tragic wounded bird hiding their secret intense self-loathing under layers and layers of ironic bravado, but just wholeheartedly thinks they're the best and charming without needing to put anybody else down.

And it turns out that is why everyone seems to like this buffoon - they're just an absurd ray of pure fucking sunshine that warms and illuminates anyone their light lands on. Just going around like "I am the most brilliant and most clever around, how splendid are you to be my dearest friend" and legit mean it. This isn't the "douchebag rival with an implausible fan club" that one would assume by first impression. This is a golden retriever that passes the Harkness test.

Pro tip if you see at least 50 people say "wait that's not normal??" In the comments of some neurodivergent relatability post then it probably is, in fact, normal. Daydreaming to songs is normal, I promise you. Most everything about being neurodivergent is normal, it's just the degree to which it affects you and your life that makes it abnormal.

In some UK productions of Cats Jerrie and Teazer have that cockney accent of theirs that audibly sets them apart from the others. In US productions of course, it wouldn't make any sense for them to have british accents, so usually the performers just do these annoying voices to replace that element. Personally I don't think silly voices alone are a sufficient substitution for a whole-ass accent, so with that in mind I believe that US Jerrie and Teazer should do obnoxious New Jersey accents during their song. victoria being deaf is a common headcanon as many people interpret her as a white cat with blue eyes!!! white cats w blue eyes have a much higher likelihood of being deaf in one or both ears, which is where the headcanon comes from!!

theres some science behind it and whatever but i dunno the specifics

its also generally supported by the fact the victoria role is a dancing one, rather than singing, and so she doesnt really have many lines (if any at all)

#haterism detected. reblog. #I WANT TO HEAR THE FULL TAKE!! #i was never fond of this little change either #i mean bomba's always been arguably kind of forward with tugger & depending on the production he reacts to it in slightly different ways- #-and there are some that you can kind of see hes not *that* into her and some you can see he totally is into her #but either way when he drops her he still looks like the asshole (the lovable asshole of course etc etc) #this change honestly almost seems to exist entirely to make tugger *not* the asshole of that interaction #and to make bomba the one that's being a jerk #its bleh in a lot of ways
