Travel Through Time Package (Tokyo Revengers): In the past, time travel was a thing of legend but it is possible with our agency! Unfortunately, our time travel machine only seems to work when outdated Japanese delinquents are inserted into the formula in order to prevent travelers from breaking the space-time continuum, therefore encounters with delinquents and yakuza members should be expected if you purchase this package. Thankfully, they are under contract not to harm you... mostly. Please do not attempt to find the strongest person in the yard and take them out in an attempt to assert your dominance. Koudelka - Review

This game I wanted to play because I was really looking for a horror-themed RPG, and from what I read online this one seemed to be one of the better ones.

From the PS1 era, comes Koudelka, made by Sacnoth (Later renamed to Nautilus) and published by SNK in 1999.

You follow the titular character, Koudelka, trying to infiltrate an isolated monastery, she quickly encounters an injured man named Edward, who warns her about a monster and gives her his gun to fight with it, after the fight is done Koudelka heals him with mysterious powers and reveals he was there looking for treasure, they decide to team up in exploring the monastery.

Later they find and save a religious man named James, who refuses to elaborate on why he is there but follows the party anyways.

While exploring Koudelka gets visions of people dying, an accident on a ship, and someone asking for help, she then reveals she is a medium, and went to the monastery trying to save the soul of someone, but with the monsters roaming everywhere, something else might be going on there.

The way the story gets told is quite interesting, all of the dialogue is completely voiced, and cutscenes that aren't pre-rendered feel almost like a theatre play, with the characters doing a back and forth and even with some physicality in their "performance".

The characters have a weird chemistry between them, but it kinda works, with Koudelka and Edward developing a closer relationship and both poking at James and his devotion to god.

Besides the cutscenes, you will also find documents that explain what is going on in the monastery and even reveal the motivations of central characters in the plot.

I can't talk much more about the plot without spoiling so I'll leave it at that, it's time to get into the gameplay.

First of all, you are in complete control of the character's stats, upon a level up you will be asked to allocate points in the stats you want for each character, so you can build them to fill whichever role you want in your party.

Encounters are random, but they are pretty sparse overall, the actual combat is set on a chess-like grid, you can choose where on your side of the grid your characters will be on the pause menu, battles are turn-based, and it plays like a tactics game more or less, but it does have things that make it unique.

First, enemies can't get past the character that is the further into the grid, and the same applies to your characters, and if the furthermost character faints and an enemy advances, you can't revive that character anymore, these rules also mean enemies can't occupy the same row as your characters.

The way attacking works depends on the type of weapon you use, and broadly there's 3 types of weapons, short-range weapons, like fists, swords, and clubs, these can target the space right in front of the character and the 2 spaces on its side, medium-range weapons like spears, this one can target the space 2 spaces in front of the character and its 2 spaces on its side, but it cannot target the one right in front of the character, it also cannot target an enemy if an ally is right in front of them, and lastly there's long-range weapons like guns, shotguns and crossbows, these can target anywhere on the map as long as an ally is not right in front of the character.

Each type of weapon gives bonus stats on different stats, so they might be more effective with one character but not with another, also, they break with use, so you might want to save the more powerful ones for bosses.

Also, there's no money on the game, besides the stuff that you might find lying around, you get extra items and equipment from enemy drops, which makes the game really feel like an RPG take on resident evil, especially with the notes you find and the general design of the monastery, which does give off resident evil vibes, there's paths you can clear for easier traversal, puzzles that require key items and at points even enemies you have to flee from, in general, it was pretty fun to explore the monastery, and the game really wouldn't be the same if the gameplay took place in different dungeons.

The last thing there is to mention about the gameplay are weapon and spell levels.

The characters are free to equip any piece of equipment and use any spell they want, and each time they use a type of weapon or any spell they build experience for it until they level up, the maximum level being 3.

For weapons, the level up adds a chance to hit 2 times in a row for level 2, and for level 3 it also adds the chance to get 3 hits in a row.

For spells, the effect will greatly increase, but the mp cost will also increase considerably.

The customization level the game gives to the hand of the player is pretty great, and the game quickly punishes you if you don't properly build your characters and your weapon and skill levels, the normal enemies aren't that hard, but some bosses do kick some serious butt, so sometimes a bit of grinding could be necessary, but something nice is that you gain levels pretty quickly, so it's really not a problem.

So all in all, I really enjoyed this game, I was really itching for a horror-themed RPG and Koudelka really delivered, it's not perfect, like many RPGs in 3D from the time, a lot of time is lost at the start of combat showing the scenario, the enemies and the players, and the combat itself might feel slow, but because the encounter rate is very lax it doesn't ever get frustrating.

The plot is pretty interesting and seeing these characters interact with each other feels very different to what every other RPG had done by this time.

So, yeah, I would recommend this game if a horror RPG sounds appealing to you, it's pretty solid for the time, and even for today, nothing really has matched it's vibe so it's still very unique.

I'll definitely check Shadow Hearts, which was made by the same developers, when I can, I really wonder if they build on the mechanics of this game or try a new system altogether, in any case, I'm excited to check it out.

Une histoire humaine

Les soldats se rassemblèrent autour de la table qui croulait sous une montagne de documents. Leur grade respectif (capitaine, lieutenant,...) était brodé sur leur uniforme, au niveau de la poitrine.

« … Tout ce travail de fin d’année me déprime à chaque fois qu’on doit s’en occuper.

- C’est pour cette raison que l’on se retrouve tous pour s’atteler à la tâche. Ainsi, personne ne se soustrait à ses responsabilités. »

Les chefs d’escouade qui dirigeaient le Bataillon d’exploration occupaient la salle avec leur lieutenant. Ils rassemblaient des rapports d’activité, des notes de frais et d'autres types de documents qui devaient être déposés à la fin de l’année auprès des officiers supérieurs de l’armée, ainsi qu’auprès des membres du gouvernement, qui étaient encore au-dessus d’eux.

« Peu importe la façon dont on s’y prend, ça me donne envie de dormir… Pas vous ? »

Même si Mike s’était occupé de sa paperasse tranquillement et en silence jusque-là, il posa une main sur la tête et soupira - ce qui était rare venant de sa part. Son lieutenant fit la même chose avant de parler :

« C’est tout à fait normal. Les expéditions se font en général dans l’après-midi, donc nous n’avons pas l’habitude de veiller toute la nuit. Il nous suffit simplement de continuer de bavarder, comme nous le faisons, pour nous empêcher de somnoler.

- C’est une bonne idée. » acquiesça Erwin, les cheveux en désordre. En tant que Major du Bataillon d’exploration, il avait devant lui la pile de documents la plus imposante de toutes.

« Ah, le caporal Livaï essaie encore de faire passer des notes de frais pour l’achat de thé !

- Tsss… Les membres du Bataillon ne sont que des pions pour toi ? On n’a pas le droit d’être un peu humain de temps en temps ? »

Erwin se força à rire. Il prit le formulaire qui permettait à Livaï de profiter de ce que l’on pouvait appeler ses rares petits plaisirs, et il le tamponna.

« Livaï a raison… J’approuve cette dépense. Pour ton microscope de recherche aussi, Hansi.

- A ce propos, est-ce que tu as un hobby de ce genre-là, Erwin ? Comme un aliment préféré, ou peut-être la couture ? »

Erwin semblait encore réfléchir au moment où il répondit à la question qu’on venait de lui poser. Ses mains continuaient d'être actives.

« Eh bien, lorsque j’ai une journée de libre, ma priorité est de me reposer… C’est une question difficile. »

« Inutile d’attendre une réponse humaine de la part ce gars. Tu devrais le savoir, Binocles.

- Erwin est un être humain, lui aussi. Du moins, il en a l’apparence pour moi. Même s’il a l’air de l’oublier parfois ! ... Et lorsque tu étais dans les Brigades d’entraînement ? »

Le mot Brigades d’entraînement fit remonter des souvenirs chez Erwin. Il repensa à l’époque de sa jeunesse, avant que les murs ne soient détruits, quand il cherchait encore à intégrer le Bataillon d’exploration…

« Oui… Les rues étaient encore si vivantes à l’époque. Il y avait un bar où se rendaient régulièrement les recrues de la Brigade d’entraînement.

- C’est surprenant. Je ne pensais pas que vous étiez du genre à vous enivrer, en dehors des fois où vous devez aller voir des mécènes. » intervint le lieutenant d’Hansi.

Erwin hocha la tête. Un certain éclat de bonheur fut perceptible dans ses yeux.

« Nous buvions car nous étions jeunes. Je ne pouvais pas boire beaucoup de toute façon. Mais on s’amusait à faire du raffut dans le bar : on se sentait davantage adultes en faisant cela... »

« Donc, tu étais à l’âge où l’on veut paraître plus vieux. Je te comprends : je lisais volontairement des manuels scolaires compliqués quand j’étais gamine !

- Mais une fois devenu réellement adulte, je n’avais pas le luxe de me comporter ainsi. Ironique, n’est-ce pas ?…

- Ouais. Au final, tous ces efforts pour paraître plus vieux ne sont restés qu’un simple jeu. »

Tout le monde laissa échapper un soupir de compassion, tout en continuant d'écrire des chiffres et de signer des documents.

Une voix bourrue déchira ce silence momentané :

« Hé, Erwin ! A quel moment as-tu commencé à te retenir de faire ce que tu voulais ? Tu es capable d’inventer toutes sortes de stratégies au bénéfice du Bataillon, mais tu n’arrives pas à trouver le moyen de faire ce dont tu as envie quand tu as du temps libre ?!

- Oh ! C’est vrai ! Tu as tout à fait raison, Livaï. Très bien, dans ce cas, allons tous au bar quand nous aurons fini ! Mike, Moblit, vous viendrez aussi, pas vrai ? s’exclama Hansi.

- … Mais... mais vous croyez les bars seront encore ouverts au moment où nous aurons terminé ? » fit Moblit.

o h mygod forgive me dear armin nonnie!!! the last weeks of school threw me off and then the trollhunters trailer hit and I got distracted. but I hope you’re still out there hearing my answer. I really have fun chatting with you, so thanks for this second question!

My favorite duos, oh gosh. I could even talk about my favorite trios, the character relationships in SNK are so well developed and rich.

Erwin and Levi

My top duo is of course Erwin and Levi. (My summer project is to make a receipts AMV of all the wonderful things Isayama and others have said about the pair.) Their closeness is something else, built on such mutuality, maturity, and love. Erwin looks like a devil to everyone but Levi, who sees his innocent humanity; Levi looks cold and unemotional to everyone but Erwin, who sees his compassionate nature. Erwin changed Levi’s worldview––allowing him to see beyond his own small world to a bigger one, where freedom was possible. Levi saw the darkest side of Erwin’s heart, and still trusted him implicitly, believing in him and selflessly giving up his own need for Erwin to stay in his life in order to give him peace and redemption instead. And as Isayama said,

“Levi had always seen Erwin’s goal of doing things for humanity’s future as an unimaginably altruistic act, and made it his life’s mission to reach the same heights.”

And with that final act of letting Erwin die, Levi did just that––become selfless in the hardest way possible. To let go of the person that gave your life meaning, because in death was healing, in death was innocence, in death was love.

Are they romantic or platonic? To me, love is beyond those labels. People can be romantic with each other and not really have real love. People can have real, dedicated love and never ever kiss or want to. Levi and Erwin share an undeniable soulmate bond, and while there is definite signs of romantic Eruri (Isayama hinting Levi’s type isn’t women, but tall people; Erwin getting flirty in supplemental short stories), to me the important part is that they are each other’s special person and that’s why I adore them so much.

Jean and Armin

Because Jean and Armin were two of my first faves from the show, I naturally gravitated to the pair. What I adore about them is how much each one of them defends the other, desperately rushing to each other’s aid on the battlefield and trusting one another. Going through the manga, I found a really touching moment when Armin was fixing a prisoner's gag (the man who had sexually harassed him) and getting visibly disturbed. Jean felt that, and intercepted the moment, getting Armin out of that situation. Jean’s actually really good at detecting people’s emotions, so it was beautiful to see him sensitive and caring with Armin.

I don’t see them as romantic, but I enjoy some good Jearmin just the same, and there’s something to be said for Jean’s canonical jealousy of Armin spending so much time with Eren. Armin’s just that good a catch LOL.

Jean and Marco

Marco changed Jean’s life, gave him a reason to be more than himself. He believed in Jean, trusted him, and encouraged him. I find it incredibly moving that Jean keeps coming back to Marco to remind himself why he chose the life he did.

I totally got on board the ship with this amazing fic about the two of them: To Everything There Is A Season by flecksofpoppy

Canonically, I don’t believe it’s romantic, but they share the deep, beautiful bond of one person owing their entire life’s purpose and sense of meaning from the other.

Bertholdt and Reiner (+Titan Trio)

Since Bertholdt was my bean in season 2, I really felt drawn to his relationship with Reiner. My sister loved Reiner too, so this duo was a good one for us both to enjoy. Bertholdt was always so insecure in himself, afraid to do or say anything in the big scary, foreign world he was dropped into as a child warrior. He relied on Reiner, and yet so often he couldn’t access him emotionally, since he was dealing with their tragic lives in his own way. He had to grow to be Reiner’s anchor, while still awash himself. They fought for each other more than for their homeland, fought for the things they both came to care about growing up on Paradis, and they were inseparable. Bertholdt risked his mission to see if Reiner was okay in the Return to Shigonshina arc, and he drew strength from Reiner’s trust in him to make his own choices and act on his own in that battle as well. As much as it pains me to see him fulfill his character growth in such a dark way, I still have a spot in my heart for him and his friendship with Reiner.

Levi and Furlan (+Underground Trio)

I got hit in the face with this relationship after I read the No Regrets manga, which shows so much more than the anime version regarding the equality in trust between Levi and Furlan. In the manga, Levi didn’t have subordinates (denying the term for them), he had friends who he had made his family. Levi bet all their lives on Furlan’s plan, and when he went on his first mission, he had such a falling out with him because Levi wanted to protect him and Isabel. Furlan was so grieved by the darkness in both Levi and Isabel’s hearts and put everything on the line because he believed he needed to get them out of the darkness of the underground. Their relationship is a beautiful insight into Levi’s early years and his inherent compassion and deep care for others.

^ The Levi Ackerman actually stopping to hearken to the command of someone else (who’s not Erwin lol), trusting in Furlan’s bigger plans with this stranger than just merely kicking him out, like Levi wanted to do.

Armin and Eren (+Shigonshina Trio)

The entire rooftop sequence and serumbowl shows how much Eren (and Mikasa) care and love Armin. In a way, Eren and Armin are the mirror for Levi and Erwin, with Erwin’s bigger dreams of the world outside the walls turning Levi’s motivations, built on tragedy, into something positive and forward-looking. Likewise, Eren’s darker need for anger and revenge is turned into something good and innocent when he shares in Armin’s dream. Armin’s hope makes Eren feel confident. He believes in him even when Armin doesn’t believe in himself. And of course, that painful way Armin tells him, “I’d never lie to you, would I?” because he knows Eren would never let him go through with his selfless mission if he’d known what he meant to do. To Eren, Armin is a better person than he’d ever be.

Now why couldn’t we have just ended the whole show right here lol?

Ymir and Historia

One of the few explicitly canon romantic couples in SNK! Their story is tragic, beautiful, and inspiring. Each one of them telling the other to be free of society’s expectations of them, to stop living for other people and to live for themselves––together. The change in Ymir, going from someone selfish to someone who would die for Historia’s happiness, is a gut-wrenching thing to watch. Their shared arc is complex, messy, and struck through by the goodness of a young girl who found the humanity in someone who never thought themselves worthy of love.

Also, yeah the characters will be slightly OOC, because of the nature of the story I couldn’t do it differently, I know Canon Erwin would never endorse Gilead, it literally hurts me to write him as this disgusting Commander... Sorry in advance for any Erwin’s simps !

You were on your knees in the living room waiting for the Commander, it was already dark outside, and you were waiting for him for quite a while now. It gave you plenty of time to overthink about your situation. In a few moment you will have your first Ceremony, at that simple thought your hands began to shake. Suddenly the door opened, you took a side glance and saw Levi and the Martha entering, you held your breath 'it's happening' you thought. Levi looked tensed too even if he tried to hide it, how could he not be? He was a driver, it's not like he ever thought he would have to help someone ra- for a Ceremony...

Finally Commander Smith entered the living room, you quickly looked back at the floor not wanting to meet the man's eyes. You heard him heading towards the fireplace in front of you and taking the Bible that was locked in a little box, women weren't allowed to read in Gilead, it's been so long since you ever read anything you were not quite sure if you were still able to read to be honest. "Let's read a verse before proceeding; 'And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her. And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.’". The Commander closed the Bible and put it back in the box, he headed towards you, and helped you stand up by taking your hand. He leaded you to his bedroom, the entire time not letting go of your hand, your whole body was already shaking, you could feel Levi following you.

Commander Smith motioned you to sit on the bed, he then looked at Levi, you saw that smaller man was hesitating, but like you, he seemed to not have a choice and after closing his eyes for a second he sat on the bed, behind you.

The Commander was standing in front of you, unzipping his pants, with a little push on your shoulder he motioned you to lie down. Your head was in between Levi's legs, you closed your eyes and put your hands up on the black haired man's legs. Levi's surprisingly soft hands were holding your wrist. You felt the Commander lift up your skirt to your waist and take out your panties. Your eyes still closed, you held your breath and felt the Commander entering you. Your whole body tensed at the man's back and forth movements. A few tears escaped from your eyes, you opened them to see Levi looking down at you with a mix of horror and distress in his eyes. You pressed your lips together and willed yourself to not let out anymore tears. Levi's grip on your wrists got tighter as the Commander's pace got faster and faster. Levi was still looking at you, if left like his gaze was locked in yours, locked in this humiliating, disgusting moment. With one last stroke you felt the Commander cumin into you. You heard the man in between your legs zip up his pants."

She needs to stay like this for a moment. Watch her." said the man as he left the room.

Levi let go of your wrists and with a quick movement of his hands he covered your lower half with your skirt. You felt numb, tears finally streaming down your cheeks silently. Levi wiped them with his thumb, the black haired man had a frown on his face, you both stayed there for a few minutes, Levi wiping your cheeks every time a tear was leaving your eyes. No words were exchanged but you felt a little bit safer, knowing that someone seemed to see how fucked up all of this was. After this he escorted you back to your bedroom, the Martha was already waiting for you there, Levi left you with her, before leaving he whispered to your ear "Don't let them see how much they broke you...". You spent the night in your bed, the Martha running her fingers in your hair, "My name is Ruth", an almost unnoticeable smile appeared on your face, you weren't supposed to know her name, back in the Red center you remembered in how much trouble an handmaid got because she said her name to someone, "My name is Y/N..." you whispered back as you closed your eyes, trying to fall asleep.

Levi's words kept resonating in your head, since the Ceremony you didn't have the chance to talk to him, the Commander gave him a lot of work. You could see the already noticeable dark circles under his eyes get darker as the days went on. As for yourself, after this traumatic night you were expected to go on with your days like before, your body was on semi-automatic at first, you woke up and helped the Marth- Ruth in the kitchen and then you went running some errands with an another handmaid. You couldn't go alone, it was ruled in Gilead; handmaids have to be accompanied with an another handmaid if they have to go out. Even if you knew they made this rule so you could monitor each other, you liked to know you weren't alone in this mess.

Ofgrisha was already waiting for you at the gate, the sun was out today, a breath of fresh hair met your s/c skin that was shielded under your white bonnet. As you headed towards your shopping partner, you heard a vacuum noise coming from your left, when you turned your head you saw Levi vacuuming inside the car's trunk. For a short second your eyes met, you felt the unexpected urge to let him know that you were ok, even if it wasn't entirely true, so you gave him a small smile, hoping he would know what you meant, and that he would maybe care? You didn't get the chance to see his reaction, as you were already at the gates now, "Blessed be the fruit" greeted you Ofgrisha. "May the Lord open." you answered back and started walking by her side.

"Ofdaniel is pregnant...", your eyes widened, "Really? But she has only been assigned to her family not so long ago...", Ofgrisha chuckled "Well, good for her, she will be spoiled for the next nine months, I told her to enjoy it while it last!". You nodded at her statement, despite how messed up her words may seem, in Gilead being a pregnant handmaid is the best situation you could ever be in, during all the pregnancy she'll have more food, no work to do and... no Ceremonies. You finally arrived at the store, a few handmaids were shopping, all of the labels had drawings instead of words. You got everything that Ruth asked you to buy, as you counted down the tokens you had left you realized you had one left to buy a fruit. As you looked at the fruits in front of you, your mind suddenly craved for f/f, but as your hand went on to pick one of them, you saw apples in the corner of your eyes.

When you arrived back at the house, you stopped next to the car, the front door was open. You looked around to see if anyone could see you, no one was in sight so you quickly took the apple that was in your bag and placed in on the driver's seat.

Rivamika Fic Suggestions List 2

Hey there again! It’s been a while since my last rivamika post and I apologies for that. I caught the reading bug and have just been hitting book after book. I might be doing a book of the month suggestion starting in March. I’m still thinking about it but if that is something your interested in let me know. Or if you just want book suggestions just message or ask me. But for now, I’m back with my second Rivamika Fic Suggestions List.

First of all, I want to thank you for all the comments and messages I received from my first list! I think it has over 150 notes now which is crazy for me. I was going to be ecstatic if it got like 10 likes or something hahaha! I’ve enjoyed talking to some of you about fics and other snk stuff. Feel free to do the same after this post! I know I take awhile to respond but swear I get there eventually.

Same rules as last time. I’ve split this list up into four categories. I wanted to let people know the status of some of these fics in case they did not want to start an incomplete or in progress story. All of these fics can be found on AO3. I’m going to try to link them but we will see how tumblr acts today. If you have any fic suggestions for me, feel free to message me with them and I can add them on to the next list. Sometimes I like to go to the very back of the Rivamika archive on AO3 and look for fics that have gotten buried over time. Low and behold what I have found lol! I enjoyed the emotional roller coaster when I was reading this fic, though sometimes I wanted to pull my hair out. Set after the titans are gone, humanity has to repopulate so arranged couples by the monarch are made to be wed. While this new order is being enforced, Mikasa and Levi are trying to work out their strained relationship. A slow burn with angst that will have you staying up till 3am dying to know what happens next. I know that there is a sequel to this fic called Nimbus and I’m slowly working my way through that one. Honestly, it will probably go on my next list.

I don’t want to say how Levi plays into all of this since it gets border line spoilers but just know that he is there. It is an opening ending fic for the author to come back if they plan on doing so but it can be interpreted in different ways. All in all, a fic worth of the quick read.

First I have to get this off my chest, I love the author’s name hahaha! I freakin wished I would have thought of that for mine! Anyway, this fic is wonderful but I will warn you that its a gut punch. If you like hurt and angst put together, then this is the story for you. I love these types of fics because I adore them so much but they hurt me in my soul. I don’t know what that says about me but whatever. I don’t want to delve into the story too much for spoilers but I would suggest rivamika fans to check this one out.

I just started to read Raewyll’s fics so I’m slowly working my way through all her works. This one caught my eye and I had to read it. This is a cute take on a chance meeting through texting the wrong number. I love the way Levi and Mikasa’s relationship blossoms into something more serious after causally texting back and forth. It’s one of those stories that I can only describe as being cute as shit! I’m definitely going to be checking out more of Raewyll’s fic in the future.

If you love RIvamika angst, then look no further than this baby right here. This is currently my favorite ongoing fic. It was supposed to be a shorter story, but the author keeps adding more chapters so I’m not complaining hahaha! This fic is pretty much how I would *personally* picture canon Mikasa on how she would deal with realizing that she’s falling in love with someone. Its mostly told in the perspective of Mikasa as she is dealing with the after effects of war and trying to figure out what should she do with her life now that she is no longer a solider. Her feeling for Levi come with a lot of confusion as she’s discovering emotions that she has never felt before. She has a hard time pinpointing on what exactly describes her relationship with him. I’m anxiously waiting for the final chapter for this fic and dying to see how it will end for Mikasa and Levi.

- After the War

I am loving this rivamika slow burn fic right here. Its similar to Beyond the Walls but I think the author adds their own taste of the 1920s into it. Set after the war is over (obviously), Mikasa and Levi have to figure out what they are going to do the rest of their lives. It has great tension, a perfectly paced gradual romance and just the right amount of humor to combat the emotional turmoil it puts you through. Again in my opinion, this is close to how I would realistically perceive Levi and Mikasa’s relationship evolving. I’m really enjoying this story and I’m looking forward to more updates to come!

A new fic that is just getting started but I can tell that what the author has in store is going to be interesting. Set several years after the end of the war, Levi and Mikasa are loving parents to a single child. Their peaceful life comes to an end when the family has a threat against them. There are not many long fics about Mikasa and Levi being parent so I was very happy when this one popped up on the AO3 feed. An exciting adventure awaits the Ackerman family now and I can’t wait to see where this fic goes in the future. There are three chapters as of now so head over there and check it out.

One of the gems I found when diving back into the Rivamika archive. Ugh I HATE that this fic is incomplete!!! Its a good long fic but I’m greedy and I need more! I will give a warning first that this fic does contain heavy themes. Mikasa and Levi are in the underground to fight against a criminal ring. This story is a slow burn with action and emotional trauma. There is a wonderfully written OC that you easily get attached to its not even funny. Even though its not completed, I would highly recommend checking it out. I still have three more chapters to finish but I had to put it on this list. I know that I’m going to be pissed once I reach the last chapter written. If someone know MissErikaCourt, let her know that she needs to comeback to finish this masterpiece!

Another one that I DISPISE its incomplete!!! Ugh such a great Office AU. It’s everything that I would want in an Office AU setting. Mikasa struggles between her committed long term relationship and her growing attraction (which starts to develop into some feelings) to her boss, Levi. Its hot, sexy and intriguing and it pisses me off that its not finished! The author writes each chapter as a one-shot but collectively together they tell the whole story. Highly recommend even though its so short. BORNSINNER where ever you are in the universe I hope you come back to finish this!!!

When this was getting updated it was my favorite on-going Rivamika fic. I would find myself checking to see if the author updated with a new chapter every week! The unplanned pregnancy trope is a classic one, but Crejhov does a fantastic job on keeping readers enthralled with soo many anticipated character meet up that are bound to cause hurdles for our expecting parents. This story is told from the perspectives of Mikasa and Levi in order for us to understand where their mindsets are as they plan for their expecting child and deal with their relationship. AHHHHH I want more of this!!! I was soo excited to see where this awkward journey was going to take Mikasa and Levi. CREJHOV COME BACK PLEASE I KNOW YOU HAVE WORK BUT PLEAAASEEEE! I NEEEEEEDDDD!!!

- Cabin Fever

All I should have to say about this is that its written by AmayaOkami and that should explain it. Amaya is the one that gave us the beautiful incomplete rivamika fic Romance and Rivalry. I just adore her writing. Levi and Mikasa relationship evolves as they are standing guard over the arrested Kenny Ackerman. Secrets are discover about the Ackermans and it gets pretty steamy between our two favs. Great fluff and great sexual tension that leaves you wanting more chapters! Again AmayaOkami where ever you went I hope for some miracle that you come back and complete this one too!

SHORT STORIES 2 - Affaires choisies - Dossier n° 09 : Le point de vue de Livaï

L’affaire du thé des soldats du Bataillon (3/3)

« Selon l’explication d’Auruo, du thé de qualité supérieure a été envoyé par erreur au Bataillon d’exploration, et les toutes-puissantes Brigades spéciales font le déplacement en personne jusqu’ici pour le récupérer…

- Est-ce que cette erreur justifie le déploiement de tels efforts ? Il est déjà difficile de se procurer une nourriture digne de ce nom pour les repas ; je doute que beaucoup de soldats soient difficiles en matière de qualité du thé. »

La lettre qui réclamait le retour du thé qu’on leur avait fourni était arrivée dès leur réveil. Tous les soldats aux ordres de Livaï se creusaient la tête pour éclaircir la situation.

Ces feuilles de thé sont indéniablement plus correctes celles que nous recevons d'habitude... Je pense que tout cela s'explique par…

Même si la théorie des soldats du Bataillon - à savoir qu'ils n’étaient pas dignes du produit de luxe qu’on leur avait envoyé - était recevable, elle n’expliquait pas les efforts déployés par les Brigades spéciales pour récupérer le produit.

« ...Auruo, apporte les feuilles de thé ! Je veux vérifier un truc. »

Livaï venait de se rappeler la façon dont les Brigades spéciales menaient leurs activités et il décida alors de vérifier par lui-même.

« Eren, passe-moi la cuillère là-bas ! »

Le thé qu’Auruo venait d’amener dans la salle était à peine différent de celui que les soldats du Bataillon d’exploration recevaient habituellement. Puisque Livaï détestait se salir les mains, il prit la cuillère à thé, longue et fine, que lui tendait la recrue, et commença calmement à remuer les feuilles.

« Qu’est-ce que c’est ? Une magnifique pierre ?! »

… Quelques instants après, une pierre assez grosse et étincelante se trouvait au creux de la main de Livaï. Une pierre qui, au sein la société emmurée dans laquelle ils vivaient, ne pouvait être aperçue que dans la Capitale royale et les propriétés des aristocrates… C’était une gemme d’ornement que les soldats de bas étage comme ceux du Bataillon n’avaient jamais vue qu'en dessin.

« Est-ce cela qu’on appelle… un bijou ?!

- Des pierres aussi étincelantes sont habituellement traitées avec le même respect que les trésors sacrés du Culte du mur !...

- Pouvez-vous nous expliquer, Caporal ?! »

Livaï dégagea les feuilles de thé autour la gemme et la fit rouler sur la table.

« C’est ce que veulent récupérer les Brigades spéciales… depuis le départ.

Puis, s’appuyant sur sa propre expérience, ainsi que sur des histoires racontées par de vieilles connaissances, Livaï leur fit part de son avis.

« Vous voulez dire qu’ils ont essayé de cacher leurs pots-de-vin : ils ont prétendu qu’on leur avait fait un don de thé et ils ont caché des objets de valeur à l’intérieur… ? Est-ce possible ?

- Quel que soit leur degré de corruption, même les Brigades spéciales doivent garder une apparence de dignité. Accepter directement de l’argent entacherait leur réputation…

- Mais les denrées alimentaires, c‘est autre chose. Auruo a raison : recevoir un don de thé est plus discret - qu’il s’agisse d’un produit de luxe ou pas. N’importe quel citoyen peut s’en procurer, et personne n’ira se plaindre qu’il aurait dû être donné à des œuvres de charité. »

Les soldats talentueux placés sous les ordres de Livaï assimilèrent rapidement ce qui venait d'être dit, et arrivèrent d’eux-mêmes à la bonne conclusion.

« Ensuite, un de ces idiots des Brigades spéciales a dû s’embrouiller. Ainsi, ils prétendent que le thé est impropre à la consommation afin de pouvoir le récupérer. » résuma l’un d’eux en faisant scintiller la pierre entre ses doigts…

En dehors des murs, cette pierre n’était rien d’autre qu’un objet de pacotille, sans aucune valeur. Eren était du même avis que son aîné. Il observa la gemme avec curiosité et demanda :

« Qu’allez-vous faire de cette gemme, Caporal ?

-… Ce sera à Erwin d’en décider. »

« Nous rentrerons immédiatement après avoir vu le Major. » annonça Livaï.

Il se prépara à aller voir Erwin, le plus haut gradé du Bataillon d’exploration.

« Je vois. Heureusement que tu as compris rapidement la situation. Nous allons en informer le membre des Brigades spéciales en charge de cette affaire. »

Après avoir entendu le rapport sur l’incident, Erwin eut une réaction plus calme qu’ils ne s’y attendaient. Puisqu’il pouvait y avoir d’autres pierres, il ordonna brusquement à son lieutenant de se renseigner auprès des Brigades spéciales pour connaître la quantité de thé impropre à la consommation, et demanda que soient prises les dispositions nécessaires pour fouiller l’ensemble du thé, afin de s’assurer qu’aucun vol n’avait été commis.

« … Tu comptes leur rendre les pierres sans faire d’histoire ?

- Dans notre propre intérêt, je préfère que les Brigades aient une dette envers le Bataillon, plutôt que de se les mettre à dos pour quelques cailloux. Tu n’es pas content, Livaï ? »

Livaï n'émit pas d’objections sur la décision d’Erwin. Il jugea préférable de laisser Erwin s’arranger, comme il le faisait ordinairement, avec les hauts gradés et les autres corps d’armée.

« Je te laisse te charger des manœuvres politiques.

- Si tu as une demande particulière à faire, je serais ravi de la leur transmettre - de la part de l’individu qui a trouvé les pierres en premier.

- Hum... »

Livaï se rappela le thé dont il n’avait pu prendre qu’une gorgée le matin-même. Il était indéniablement excellent.

« Je me fiche de ces cailloux ; mais le thé était bon. J’apprécierais qu’ils puissent nous en fournir davantage de cette qualité. »

Erwin sourit, puis répéta la demande toute simple de Livaï en la reformulant à sa manière - si particulière.

« Très bien, je la leur transmettrai. Et je leur demanderai d’enlever ce qui rendait le thé impropre à la consommation la prochaine fois qu’ils vous en fourniront. »

Il tourna ensuite le dos à Livaï et se préparera à aller rendre visite, en personne, au membre des Brigades en charge de l'affaire, tandis que Livaï retourna à ses propres occupations.
