Okay these tags on this post reminded me of a HoO/TOA thing that I complain about a lot but I don’t think i’ve ever elaborated on here:

One of the big issues I take with both HoO and TOA is that literally every death in both series feels cheap because death has lost consequence. For the majority of HoO it’s at least somewhat still of a risk, but even things like Tartarus feel extremely lackluster when we actually encounter them - Tartarus especially after we saw how much it affected Nico, but then Percy and Annabeth’s plot armor kind of negates all of the threat and it feels like they don’t actually experience much more than their usual threats down there or that it has any lasting effect on them. And after Leo’s “death” we’re basically solidified into “Death has no consequence” because we just finished a series with at least SIX INSTANCES of major or minor protagonist-aligned characters notably directly cheating or miraculously avoiding death (Jason, Hazel, Gwen, Frank, Jason again, Leo), not including also miscellaneous minor antagonists. Which is aggravating because you can make a “Hey, these characters can’t die!” plot work, especially if that’s the root problem they’re trying to solve! It does work in TLH and SoN! And we’ve even seen it before in Battle of the Labyrinth when Percy fights his half-brother!

But HoO basically nullifies all consequence the characters face from MoA onwards and post-BoO “death” carries no weight, because by this point we have so many excuses to get around it or avoid it or come back from it that who cares! And this continues to be a thing post-TOA! Even just in the plot summary of Chalice Of The Gods we’re introduced to YET ANOTHER “Cheat death!” item! And I’d bet we’re gonna get one in TSATS too cause we’re almost guaranteed to see Damasen again, and the like one singular myth that exists referencing Damasen also specifically mentions an herb called “the flower of Zeus” that can revive things from the dead.

And it’s extra annoying because in TOA we keep getting character deaths shoved in our faces and told we should care about them, but either they’re characters we have little to no emotional connection to (such as, like, All Of Camp Jupiter in Tyrant’s Tomb when the camp is threatened and we’re told we should care, but we’ve barely seen the camp at all besides beginning of Son of Neptune and beginning of Mark of Athena, and the only living characters we get to actually see in Camp Jupiter from before TOA are Gwen, Dakota, Don the Faun, and our HoO protagonists.)

And Jason’s death is particularly annoying because a.) He’s essentially cheated death twice already [Piper bringing him back from either death or near-death when he accidentally witnessed Hera’s true form, and then his whole spear injury that was slowly killing him but was healed with [checks notes] the power of friendship], and b.) the scene DIRECTLY PARALLELS HIS FIGHT WITH MIDAS. Which, you know, he WON. VERY EASILY. And you can’t even argue “oh but this time Piper and Apollo were right there so he couldn’t have done the same thing!” because PIPER AND LEO WERE THERE WITH MIDAS. Heck, so was Lit! Who also survives and comes back in TOA! So not only is there no excuse for Jason to have not somehow miraculously avoided death (alongside every other TOA character, basically), but he SHOULDN’T HAVE DIED IN THE FIRST PLACE because THAT’S NOT A FIGHT HE SHOULD HAVE LOST! Him losing that fight is directly contrary to what we know about his character! And “he shouldn’t have lost that fight and died” doesn’t feel tragic here, it’s just aggravating! It’s just bad writing! And there’s no way around it because nobody cares about characters dying by that point in the series anyways because it doesn’t mean anything! We’ve had too much random death fodder in HoO (like the Hunters) directly alongside characters experiencing little to no consequence when they should from their experiences (Percy & Annabeth in Tartarus, literally every character nearly dying, etc.). The only characters we do see experience any kind of lasting consequences from near-death experiences are Hazel having blackouts in Son of Neptune (which are magically erased by Mark of Athena) and Nico being heavily implied to be permanently physically disabled after Tartarus (which is half-ignored when not plot relevant in TOA and completely ignored in the short story Un Natale Mezzosangue, which gives me reason to suspect it will also be ignored in TSATS). Not to mention Frank’s curse is also randomly erased in Tyrant’s Tomb, which is extra stupid because by following the logic of that scene his curse should have been lost back in Son of Neptune when he freed Thanatos, because he was using his curse for the same exact reasons with the same exact mindset. He literally did his character arc twice. Whatever.

HoO and TOA are just such a mess writing-wise of Rick trying to haphazardly incorporate as many myths as he can with zero attempts at cohesiveness that it doesn’t make any sense (I invite you all to read just the Team Statue chapters of BoO and take a moment to process how absolutely nonsensical it is) and he fails to consider the consequences of including certain myths, both in terms of how their aspects will impact the larger plot and also the historical context behind those myths and if how they’re being applied is offensive.

TL:DR: Jason’s death is stupid from literally every angle and HoO and TOA have a problem with literally any kind of narrative consequence.

"Y/N!" A loud voice echos through the restaurant, "Just finish cleaning that last section, and you're outta here!"

Oh, hell yeah!

You turn your head in the direction of your manager, smiling with excitement. "Yess! Okay," it was pretty obvious by your tone of voice that you were excited to get the fuck out of there.

After a long night of serving tables, you wanted to just relax.

Sore feet, tired eyes, that front door was practically calling your name after an eight hour shift.

With a rag in hand, broom in the other, you begin wiping down the last table, and sweeping up any leftover crumbs on the floor. Honestly, you liked your job. It had its moments like any place, but overall, you were really happy here.

The customers treat you well, you make good money, and, it really helped that your coworkers were nice.

 

Finishing up your section was quick, and once you collected your tips from the night, you ran the F out of there. Trotting out of the building to your car, you hop inside, grip the wheel, and start it up.

The ride home consisted of blasting music with the windows down, speeding through the yellow lights, until you finally made it back to the shared apartment complex you call home.

Your tired feet travel up the stairs, standing to meet eyes with the front door. Jingling keys around your wrist, you lift your hand to unlock the door, and step inside. You inhale a small breath in excitement to be home, and kick off your shoes.

"Yoo, I'm home, bitch." You call out into the void of the dim hallway, looking around for a certain mischievous roommate. It wouldn't take her long to show up. Especially since you worked the night shift- - that meant you brought food home with you.

Footsteps make their way up to you, and you smile in their direction.

"Girl, you know those two teenagers that show up every once in a while and throw stuff out near our dumpster?" F/N bumps your shoulder, eyes all wide and crazy.

You frown slightly, "Damn, I just walked in the door—"

"So!" She waves her arms, "They tossed their fucking VR headset out!"

Your eyes widen a bit in curiosity. It probably didn't work- - who would throw out a headset if it wasn't broken?

"Okay? And?"

 

"And- it still works!" She shook your shoulders dramatically. You had to see it to believe it.

"No way," you laugh. "What the hell? It's prolly cursed or somethin' then." Your smirk was enough to piss her off as you brushed past her and made your merry way into the kitchen. With your leftovers bag in hand, you set it on the countertop and look around to gather your mind.

F/N sighs, rolling her eyes at you. "It came with some weird circus game. I dunno, it looked kinda lame. Wanna try it out?" Her voice seemed pretty desperate for attention.

You look up with a tired expression, mouth slanting into a crooked frown. "I wanna sit down and eat. I just worked all day!" You laugh.

"You can sit and play! C'mon!" She drags you into her bedroom. You groan, stepping over the piles of laundry covering her floor, food bag in hand. "Did you clean it? Because I'm not wearing that thing if it's been in the complex dumpster." It's not like you were gonna just put some weird headset on if you didn't know where it came from.

"Of course I cleaned it," she huffs, back facing you, as she pulls out the device from her desk. "That's gross."

You shrug, stuffing a forkful of rice into your mouth as you look around her untidy room. "Just checking."

Her hands find a plug, and connects the headset's wire into her desktop.

She places it on her head, smiling wide as it turns on. "Yo this is so cool," f/n laughs, moving her head around. "I can't believe I found this thing."

You shake your head at her, snickering. "I can't either."

Her hands raise up, and she takes the headset off, blinking a few times to adjust back to reality. "Try it on! It's so cool,"

You set your food aside, and laugh, nodding and holding a hand out for it. "Okay, gimme."

You take the headset, and move over to the computer desk. Sitting down, you adjust it on your face to fit more comfortably. It fit pretty snug. You find the game on the screen, and smile. "It was that circus game, right? Imma click on it," you tell her, assuming she could see the computer screen, while you look through the headset.

"Yeah! Go for it." She takes a seat, leaning forward with anticipation.

You use the controller and click on the game. As it loads up, your eyes squint a bit from how bright it was. Holy shit, it was like walking into a neon daycare center.

"Ugh, it's bright," you mumble, looking at the screen.

"Really?" F/N asks.

You nod, head feeling a little funny. You swore that headset felt tighter. "It feels really weird,"

Suddenly, the screen seemed to fit your vision almost perfectly.

It really felt like you were in the game . . So weird.

"F/N?" You ask, not hearing a reply.

Oh, cute. She probably pulled a dumbass prank on you again.

The colorful circus screen zoomed in, and man it felt weird being in VR while crashing in a game. The ground got closer and closer, and with each second of you falling, you felt your stomach drop. Why did this feel SO REAL?

"Yo! What the f—!"

Your body hits the floor. Ouch.

With a groan, you manage to sit yourself up from the wooden floorboards. It looked like you were on some sort of . . stage? How is this possible?!

loki s2 FINALE review

it's gonna be a bit messy cuz i haven't process it yet full but i came here immidiately after finishing cuz this was insaaaane....

the pacing was great, yk how it kinda starts off a little unserious but then it takes a darker turn

loki reassuring & hyping up victor was so 🥹

i was getting pretty anxious that loki may actually kill sylvie since not only that would have been neccessary for the plot, but also could serve as some sort of "metaphor/symbolism" for reincarnation that loki have to kill his old self (yes i say old cuz sylvie technically still has the similar negative traits loki did in 2012 and has overcome them by now) but i'm glad they found another way... pheww 😮‍💨

oh ?? a new soundtrack debut ?? miss natalie outdid herself once again !!

when loki said "for you, for all of us" i think we all had flashbacks to one of the saddest scenes of loki in thor (2011) when he was talking to odin and-

-that gave me the realization of how far he have come like not just personality vise but also in his abilities/powers!

(also something something the fact that he's no longer using his god status to harm or intimidate others but to help ppl and to take on huge responsibilities hmmm)

jimmy and michael parallels

so i was watching the reuniting the family mission and the conversation between jimmy and m is fucking insane because they completely parallels one another. 

these ate some quotes 

“im a fat shit that you ruined!” this is said by jimmy however it works in michaels perspective too, you could argue that his family “ruined“ the old Michael. they also both clearly have low self-esteem issues.

 “your just a lame and angry psycho sometimes,” jimmy says to Michael but jimmy could be considered an angry psycho. when gaming jimmy trolls and torments others on the game to such extreme lengths that someone actually kidnaps and tries to kill him over it. and it’s pretty well known that jimmy is lame and I think tracey calls him lame multiple times. im pretty sure that her main insult to him which is far too much of a coincidence.

“I get so mad and I can’t control things.” jimmy talking about himself but this quote alone sums up Mikey’s character perfectly. although jimmy talking about the helplessness he feels in his own life probably due to his unique upbringing and his clear low self-esteem, it is far too much of a coincidence that this quote can also be about Michael and how his anger and his inability to keep in control is what sets the game into motion. he pulls down madrazos house in a blind rage which means the vangelico job and Trevor coming back. and back in Yankton he couldnt control Trevor and brad, which leads to the actual game. this quote is followed by “shit just falls on top of me.” jimmy talking about how he’s struggling to navigate his parent’s rough marriage and finding his place in the world but in therapy, michael complains that it’s all getting on top of him and he’s lost on what to do.

“I wanna say I love you and hug it out but all that wimpy shit is just...... lame” the ellipsis is where jimmy goes on about his gay friends which ill will mention in a minute but anyway. Jim has probanly picked up struggling to open up from his parents, im willing to bet money on Amanda and michael haven’t said I love you and mean it since north Yankton, which is proven to hurt kids. Michael himself also struggles to tell his family how much they mean to him when i play I thought that Amanda thinks that Michael doesnt love them, he does but just cant express it all that well. also michaels family never like hug or anything, with franklin m gives him fistbumps which he doesnt with his family the most that they’re touching one another is the occasional bump into one another. 

“I would say gay but that’s not cool anymore.” jimmy talking about his gay friends rn but if you watch the actual cutscene look at Michaels face he looks angry and a little scared. looks like denial to me. as someone who was part of the LGBTQ community i can see the gay denial ive experienced it myself. and rockstars aren’t complete idiots they knew what we would think about M and T. they hint at it themselves and the fact that jimmy talks to him about being gay?? too much of a coincidence for me. it also speaks volumes about how repressed and in the closet Mikey is, he gets angry/ scared when his family talks about being gay. I wanna shake mike until it clicks that he’s fucking gay. 

“im so upset that we can’t even see each other,” jimmy says this to mike but we know for a fact that Michael is heartbroken when Amanda and the kids move out. paralleling each other again!!

“your just a drunk lame dad.” “you know what, that’s the nicest thing anyone ever said to me.” how often is jimmy insulted in the game, not only in missions but you overhear it all the time. so swap whos speaking to who and it still makes sense. jimmy is prolly so staved from regongition from his father, look how much jimmy copies him and his ideals/ thoughts. to me? seems like he’s trying to mirror him so mike starts treating him like a son (this one kinda got away from me tbh)

then jimmy ruins the mood and asks for a car. amazing. 

I love this game so much because all of it has much-hidden meaning and it’s so fun to analyze. im not saying I like jim, in fact, i hate him cause he is so annoying but,. It shows how much effect michael's behaviour and words affect the rest of the family. im so glad that they went to family therapy. sorry that this is so long but i just had to give my thoughts on this, we analyze amanda and michaels relationship but never anything with the kids. idk really but yeah

About Vivsiepop's Beelzabub

Lots of drama over Bee's design. My Thoughts:

Beelzabub's design isn't forein. She's a canine character, like the Hellhounds she rules over. She wears knicked tanktop and shorts- Just like Loona and Tex's everyday clothes. She even talks like Loona, which is the best way I can describe at the moment is City-youth culture.

About her colors-- the pink and blue aren't her true colors, those are for the "Cotton Candy" song she sings-- she's wearing cotton candy colors. When bathed in yellow. and when transformed, her clothes turn red and black, her glowy hair turns completely gold. Even her little tuft turns gold.

This Matches with the general colorscheme of the other hellhounds except for the Yellow/gold.

So her design matches other characters.

As for Bee's bug theme:

She's got six, thin, long limbs. Fly wings you can hear flapping around, antenae lashes and ears, and stripes. Which is all a call to the bug theme of Biblical Beelzabub, who may not have been specifically seen as a bee, but at least was a flying bug. Even so, there's no rule saying you HAVE adhere to previous depictions of an entity in a fictional work. You don't, and shouldn't have to know anything about the bible to track who a given character is. Biblical lore can help predict what a character's about, but the show's own writing is what makes and defines the character in that show (Something I get to later).

When it comes to character design basics, Bee's still pretty in-lane, being introduced with an easy-to-recognize silhouette.

When it comes to animation practicality, Bee's base design (clothes, patterns) doesn't seem much harder to animate than these guys.

Even then, Bee's animation is very high quality in this episode, like the animation in the "Truth Seekers" episode or some parts of "The Harvest Moon Festival". They were adding extra details to the animation for fun, not because her design required it. The Honey was globbier than it needed to be, her body movements more fluid and detailed than they needed to be. It was for fun.

They could have definitely animated Bee's honeymane simpler than this, if it were that much of a strain on the animators, and still retained the same design. Plus, there are shortcuts to pulling this off, like animating the basic outline first and having another layer behind it that doesn't follow the outline, but instead is cropped by it. They do this with Stolas' sparkly cape in "Ozzie's".

(Obv, Bee's honey was more hands on, but you can see a similar method used if you watch how the globules move.) They can also animate the lava effect by itself and drag that animation to stay inside the outline, which they seem to do for the lava belly.

Even then. The whole point of this episode was to celebrate the show's success and progress. They did all this out of joy and to have fun. The only thing I'd say could have been concretely "better" only really applies if you approach this as a serious, plot-significant episode (Which it isn't), and that's the writing of the Bee's introduction scene (which was a song that was more to celebrate the show and Spotlight Kesha than providing important context on the characters/setting/themes.)

Other than that, most of the criticism about Bee's design is preference (subjective), expectation (subjective), or an overreaction to furries (Ironically plenty of fans of this show apparently find furries disgusting or lame and saw Bee's design and went "A canine Sin? The Furries are taking over!") (Subjective).

Acting like this is Viv being lazy, uninspired, or unreasonable, is just-- unfair, and unwarranted negativity. People are really acting like this is their work, and not Viv's. Viv didn't do anything technically wrong with Bee's design. It's one thing to not dig it (I personally still haven't warmed up to Ozzy's, and prolly never will, but I warmed up to Bee's a lot faster- especially after seeing her personality) it's another to try to shit on the creator or act like their designs are "wrong" because of expectations or personal taste, ESPECIALLY for an episode that isn't plot relevant and was made to celebrate real-world things like Viv's success in producing her own show and being able to work with Kesha.

Chill the fuck out, and kudo's to the team.

46. Radirgy De Gojaru! (3DS, 2014)

Well well... this is a wierd one

Radirgy De Gojaru is a pretty good example of not judging a book by its cover.

It all takes place in one screen, not the scrolling backgrounds from previous entries, you have infinite HP, the framerate fucking dies often.

It sounds like a bit of a lame schmup doesnt it... it kind of is honestly... and that what makes it good imo...

RDG doesnt try to surpass its previous entries, instead trying something new and simple for the handheld, this simple aproach makes it in my opinion the best handheld RS34 schmup on the 3DS

Beating that of Karous The Beast of Re:Eden and Illmatic Envelope Dillinjah, as those two shot for something more complicated that didnt really work because of the 3DS's power.

Ooookay so this video game.

Radirgy de Gojaru is a schmup tower defence game... yup

This are all the options you have in the title screen, nothin more, nothin less.

Alright, let's get straight to it!

As described previously, RDG takes place in one area, above Tadayo Aita's garage.

You protect the garage using a modified machine with endless HP and a super big bomb.

Your main objetive in game is to not let any bullets or ships travel to the bottom of the top screen.

For every ship and bullet that passes, 1% of the total HP of the garage is lowered (your HP is shown by the block thats over the X shot icon)

and thats the basic gist of it, its quite simple but eh it works well enough.

So you have four weapons and a bomb (that big circle thing in the second screenshot)

So you have a wide shot, a X shot, a side shot and a upgraded sword.

You can use the sword while using any other shot but its particularly strong when using the sword option.

When you deal damage to enemies you regain Battery which lets you use the bomb more often.

You can stack the bomb up to 3-4 times, at max level it covers most of the screen and takes every bullet on its range. Keeping the shield up is the most important part of the game.

On the bottom screen you have a few things,

From top row to bottom row left to right:

Total signal, Instant Death (Quit button), Timer of the current run and battery %

Total score, the HP % of the garage, Time at full signal (you reach full signal by propperly using the shield at max power), a button to talk to Tadayo as shown bellow.

sadly I dont understand japanese so im missing out on the flavor text...

and on the last row: manual weapon switching if you dont want to use the weapon change button (the weapon switch just uses the next weapon to the right, no way to pick the last selected weapon, so that kinda justifies the use of the touch screen... in a way)

Its neat. Having all the important hud info on the bottom screen makes the top screen less cluttered (Kinda like how Resident Evil Revelations handles it... odd comparison I know lmao)

You shoot things, you gain meter, you use meter to get meter.

The gameplay is simple but it works.

So what about that presentation... I mean for a one screen game it actually it has quite the decent presentation

Models are nice, prolly ripped straight from the original radirgy

It does suffer from alot of jaged edges and the cel shaded style doesnt really look the best which does hurt it a bit but despite all that it captures the essence of the series.

Even if the game does look quite alright... It doesnt help that the game never runs at full speed at later parts of runs, the slowdown is SUPER heavy but thats kind of a good thing.

Theres alot of stuff to keep track off so the slowdown helps catch some enemies going to the bottom screen.

One area where I have no complains, where they absolutely nailed it was the 2D elements.

The menus are super nice!

There is alot of selectable bottom screen art that is really nice!

Not a good screenshot, I was trying to just take a screenshot of the bottom screen art alone (and failed) but there is alot of stuff to select and unlock!

The game hits the series style on the 3D visuals and 2D visuals.

also in the topic of presentation, the audio.

The sound effects can be a bit much at times. you will hear the shot sound... often, same with the sword SFX and its a bit annoying. You grow used to it and you can turn off sound effects but its not the best... but what saves all this... is the music.

The music is so good! Daisuke Nagata and Ko Hayashi, composers of the original Radirgy, came back to create a great 13 track long soundtrack!

It even got a CD soundtrack release! (RSCD-001)

Fantastic stuff for a 800 yen game.

Radirgy de Gojaru is not the greatest schmup out there, its not even the best one on the 3DS. Games like Kokuga and even Metal Torrent on the DSi have it beat easly.

But that doesnt stop it from being a fun time at a cheap price.

Keeping the spirit of the series in a simple format.

I am not sure if I should give this a score at all. giving it a high score is giving it too much credit but giving it a low score is discrediting everything it does right...

Eh I guess its a 4.5/10 game that I like so much I give a 6.5/10

hehe i finally have a moment to answer >:3c this is gonna be long so im gonna get a read more involved

my only character thats actually from dnd (my online group plays other ttrpgs) and "active" (we played two sessions 3 months ago ;w; but! might play again) Is Yeshe :3

Its a mdzs inspired campaign... im pretty sure, i havent watched it... so i based her off of tibetan folk clothes and ofc off of a pallas cat. She hadnt had time to shine as a character yet and her backstory and motivations are bit murky =w= but the gist is that she takes care of her magically gifted little sibling (another player character, my sketch attached), they were raised in a remote commune and are now going to the big city.

Now, the character from a finished campaign of City Of Mist (really cool system!!!) thats been on my mind a lot recently is my beloved Theooooooo

He was originally an oc completely detached from any specific setting, then I put him with my beloved Rochelle (in the blue dress, she started out as a dnd character but got only like 2 sessions back in 2020 :'3) in my own version of feywild (ill get to it later).

And then!!! I decided to play him in that CoM game and it was the best decision everrrrrrrrrr he was so so so so sos ososoosososos fun :3. CoM is urban fantasy where people become "rifts" for mythical beings and are able to use their power.

Theo was a Detective and a Fey and i really enjoyed playing an absolutely devious, controlling and charming guy =w=. His main motivation was power, he thought most people (except for his wife rochelle altough they have a tomshiv thing going on) are beneath him and mostly there for him to order around like chess pieces. And something that made this campaign insanely fun for me was that in order to get more powerful he had to do a task for the fey queen - kidnap and deliver a singer to her. A singer which also happened to be the person we had to protect during our investigation... dm and me kept it secret.

It was so insanely fun to walk into every scene thinking of how to find an opportunity to do that... in the end I managed to, in a very tense scene (the greyscale sketch at the top, the girl smiling behind theo is one of the fey messangers). The other PCs didnt stop him because they had some trust in him... got away with it completely :3. Tho I agreed not to play him in the next campaign (even tho id love to >_<) bc his jig was kinda up. Great character tho, and thanks to my dm i finally get warlocks, i might play one sometime!

Now, still in the city of mist im playing Valerie :3

Her mythos is "Vampire" but she refuses to drink blood... she gets all sorts of issues bc of that, has trouble keeping down frineds and jobs ect... Still very early in the campaign but shes pretty fun :3 tho i prefer chracters who are a bit more commanding, i made her more of a follower to let my group breathe after theo but i kinda naturally fell back into organising the party again last session so i think i just need to stick to making charismatic characters next time sidugfsd. shes a nice change of pace tho, im excited for whats in store for her.

My feywild!!! It's a setting ive had in my head ever since i made Rochelle, Its sort of an early modern france mixed with Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell which sounds pretty lame and ig it is isudgfsd.

Theres a lot of ideas and a lot of characters that i dont really have time to develop and am prolly gonna rework a million times =w= but its fun, and its fun to make plalists for random archfey.

Last character I'll mention =w= even tho i never got to play him because the campaign fell apart before the fist session, as they often do, I really love Byk and I wanna show you guys...

Tadeusz Byk born in 1880 in Poland, Emigrated to the usa (boston then moved near new york) with his mother and grandma when he was 13... Operates a temporary house for immigrants that his mother started. Now 40, works as a tailor and sells moonshine on the side. Depressed, repressed and with a big heart... hope i get to dust him off for something someday...

another timelapse/art rambling under the cut, probably needs an epilepsy warning for when i start workin on those sleeve stripes tho. i tried making a brush instead of just manually drawing them and my undos caused a lot of rapid flickering

mostly just on one layer except for that initial midgray jacket fill-- felt like itd be a dumb idea to just bulldoze my sketch lines so soon. by the time i got to the darker tones i just slammed it on top of everything though. ive never used oil paints irl because i am both a coward and impatient, but i'd imagine the type of process or principles or whatever im doing here is vaguely similar. extremely destructive. yolo!

nice thing about the one layer thing is being able to just liquify tool nudge stuff around. i hate having to adjust it layer by layer. iirc the liquify tool doesnt work on vector layers tho which is pretty lame u_u but whatever i dont like doing lineart on separate layers anyway (i just draw them directly on my sketch layer) (it usually ends up getting buffed out in the rendering anyway) (i dont recommend doing this its a huge pain if you ever change your mind and want to have your lines separate later)

i never used liquify that much in ps but i use it all da time in csp. love it. i miss being able to relax the distortion before applying it, but oh well

Looking to make some Penpal friends

Been searching around trying to find any pen pals from Instagram mostly, dont really trust the FB groups that are made for pen pals.

I did meet a pen pal on IG but she had stopped really with the letter writing or damn USPS got lame and may have lost her letter that she said she was gonna send months back so not sure if I am just personally bad at making any friends in the real World.

I haven't done one in ages since i was prolly in my elementary days but i guess being in the late 30's can be boring. But would love to meet new people either online or on paper which I rarely have done.

Is anyone on Tumblr looking to make Real Life friends?

I am 35, American (Korean) born and raised in the hell hole Chicago has become now with all the crazies going on. Likes: pretty much all sort of tv dramas from the American to Kdrama and C dramas and some animes (will take on recs for any other Asian style dramas if there good plots) If you want to know more I can post a list. Music: Kpop (mostly the boy bands like BTS, ATEEZ, SF9, Astro,Seventeen) some Black Pink- had some favs as teen but been so long since I listened to girl bands and cant remember much, have gotten back into Kpop for about the time Covid started but slowly building into liking more bands) Also love listening to certain Kdrama OST's which lead me to fall in love with korean music more as the shows aired. But i have a spotify playlist i build for a bunch of KDrama songs. Also Chinese music has also gotten some of my likes from Ren Jialun (Allen Ren) has some great songs and acting, Zhang Zhehan who was a good actor now mostly into singing is pretty good too. I like also being creative with digital art like fan art of tv dramas like making gifs or plane fan art posters and such, used to do a lot on LiveJournal if you know that site. Been mostly making short vid clips for Twitter here and there haven't really done gifs in a while but I sometimes do for the fun of it. I also graduated from Uni with a BFA in concentration in Graphic Design since all I love is being on the computer so have that as a hobby. Fav foods: korean bbq love spicy pork and pork wit lettuce also the short ribs marinated. American wise Pizza, pasta, Chinese cuisine a bit of mix of everything. Fav books: scifi fantasy, romance, mangas ( Sailor Moon, Haikyuu, Shadowhunters series, Harry Potter series, Twilight saga, Fifty Shades series, Gabriels Inferno series)

top ten characters for fat stuff!

ohhhhh this is a good one! Most are prolly going to be transformers tho

top ten- 1 being the best:

Ratchet. OMG he is just soooo fun to beef up. Like, deep down, he don't care that he's a chonk, but he does worry if other mechs will think of him less. AND worries about getting too big to do his job: that could never happen. He needs to work- but loves to pamper himself with over indulging in tasty food.

Drift. Fat stuff with him consists of those thighs getting chonky, and his butt and belly.... its nice imagining him chonking out to just freakin' relax- stop worrying about impression others and just be happy with yourself. I picture him secretly enjoying stuffing himself, but very VERY self conscious about it.

Rodimus. For him- its just kinda funny imagining someone who is probably super-duper in the mindset of 'I gotta be the hotest mech alive' and 'slim is in' crap. He'd be the one to deny he put on weight when he is sporting a starter belly, and even sucks it in when needs to. Big time closet eater, and probably cries over seeing his belly.

Megas XRL- not a transformer, but a robot. online buddy got me into this. And I/we like to imagine him being sentient. HEs not a super common char- but he just seems to always get himself a very VERY swollen gut from cracking open gas trucks and chugging. Big time. To the point he falls over and has trouble getting back up. And when I say big belly, it pretty much turns into the stereotypical 'circle' bely because of the sudden and massive weight gain. BUt its just his belly that chubs up...

Red Alert. I never done any fat art of him or chubfics: but it is one I see not being super heavy, but thic. Like, he got some thic thighs, round belly and a meaty bedonkidonk to go with it- from sitting down monitoring security systems all day... and snacking. Plus, I imagine he idly rubs at his chub throughout the day... ( and inferno enjoys catching him in this act...o.0)

Ghost Rider. yay a 'human' made it on the list! And with all those souls he eats- it goes right to his gut! The next morning, its not just his head that feels as if its on fire- but his massive belly too! JUst imagine a skeleton with a flaming head riding a motorcycle towards you... with a fat ol belly- and he is hungry!

Breakdown: this is another one a buddy got me into, but it makes sense. He just really seems to have the frame to be a biggin and the personally to suit it as well. Poster child for big is beautiful. Never does a half ass job at eating: its all or nothing. And he loves to throw his weight around

Senator Proteus: this was a recent addition. I just learned of this char- and of course, I thought of ideas on him getting chubbed up. He is an a$$hole senator and greedy, cares only for himself... you know, classic politician. Rumor of an energon shortage? Deny it of course ( while stuffing yourself silly to ensure he gets more than his fill) I have a story planned for this guy- just have to wait for other stories to be finished. But this glutton is fun to play with. HE claimes his fat gut is proof enough that he is right ( no energon shortage) and senator shockwave/anyone else claiming there is a shortage is wrong. In your face! ( unless its food, then it will be in Proteus' face, because he eating it)

Wing. His is kinda a double edge sword tho ( OMG LAME PUN) He is just uber-adorable, and it would be so cute to see him sporting some extra baggage. I woudn't imagine him getting really chubby tho, because it would get in the way of his swordy-stuff. And I am sure with his 'rightous' believes, overindulgence would be a sin. But I could see him going on short lived stuffing sprees. Getting himself a firm starter belly, then having to go through a period of fasting to loose the weight.... if he really overdid it for a few days, he'd get some cute love handles and a nice spare tire. But following that would be a period of exercising and fasting. For religious reasons of course ... 0.o

last but not least...i'm kinda digging here...in my mind I have oc's that get chubbed up, but i never drew them or written them. SO i dunno if they'd count. I read a tarn fic where tarn chonked up a bit, and I really liked that concept. I kinda like Tarn getting fat for a few reasons: BE it he is being cocky thinking he is all high and mighty and eats fine delicacies to the extreme, or he stuffs himself in attempts to console his poor, tormneted soul, But also, how much more menacing would being hunted down by a fat tarn be? On one hand- i'm sure you could easily out run him. On the other hand- dear lord, if he caught you.... i'd bank on squashing would be in the cards. Can you imagine being choked out by Tarn's thighs? ( OMFG sign me up)
