love, you HAVE to continue the moonwater x pregnant reader who are announcing the pregnancy with a very dramatic barty and over enthusiastic sirius
say less (this was supposed to be a short little blurb, how'd it end up being so long? [it's cuz they're dramatic])
poly!moonwater x pregnant!reader who tell their friends // 2nd trimester
The first sound you heard when you, Remus, and Regulus stepped through the floo at Potter manor was the sound of Harry squealing in delight.
“Again, Pa’foo! Again!” The toddler cheered as Sirius, who was laying on the floor on his back, took Harry’s hands in his and lifted his godson up into the air by his feet.
“Quick, Red! What are those muggle flying thingies called again!?” Sirius shouted through the apartment.
You chuckled at the sight as Regulus tried passing you a sweater on account of “the many drafts in Potter manor” which you quickly refused. “I think you’re looking for aeroplane, Sirius.”
Sirius leaned his head back further so he was looking at you upside down and offered you a flirty grin.
Before he was able to say anything too salacious, Harry squealed and launched himself at you.
“Auntie!”
“Hi Haz!” You cheered back, bending down to hold the child to your chest. “Having fun?”
Harry confirmed that he was as he moved to hug Remus and Regulus before tearing off to tell his parents that everyone was here.
Sirius accepted Remus’ hand up and they clapped each other on the back in what Regulus has dubbed a “bro hug” that he was “zero percent interested in ever receiving, thank you”.
“Nice of you all to finally show up. V’been here for hours already.” Sirius taunted.
“He’s a sodding liar.” You heard Lily say as the four of you made your way to the dining room where Harry was already sitting in his booster seat and shoving food into his mouth by means of one baby fork and one pudgy hand. “He’s been here for five minutes maybe.”
Sirius scoffed. “You’re no fun, Red. I didn’t even get to see the little twitch in Reggie’s jaw at the thought of having held everyone up.”
“Sod off.” Regulus hissed as he smacked his brother upside the head.
“Lily! Regulus just hit me!” He cried, rubbing the back of his head.
“Squealer.” Regulus muttered darkly and took a seat as Remus pulled out a chair for you in the place beside him.
You didn’t realise how quiet the room had gotten until after Remus had pushed your chair back in underneath you and took a seat to your opposite side. You looked up to notice all eyes were on you.
“What the hell is going on?” Lily asked bluntly.
“What do you mean?” You asked, though your voice sounded relatively high.
Sirius let out a disbelieving laugh. “That one?” He said as he pointed an accusatory finger towards his brother. “That one had etiquette lessons drilled into him from the moment he could walk. This one?” He continued, moving his finger to Remus. “Is the least gentlemanly man I’ve ever met.”
Remus let out a simultaneously hysterical and offended laugh as he looked cautiously towards you and Regulus. “I am too a gentleman!”
“You’ve never once pulled out my chair, Moony.” James accused with narrowed eyes.
“And why in the hells would he pull out your chair, Potter?” Regulus sneered.
“A gentleman would.” Lily argued.
“He would not!” Remus countered.
“Only an un-gentleman would say such a thing, Moons.”
“You’ve lost the plot, Sirius.”
“Are you pregnant?” Lily whispered, causing the table to fall silent again as everyone returned their attention to you.
You looked awkwardly between Remus and Regulus again; this isn’t exactly how you’d planned to tell them. You were hoping to have at least made it through your meal before you opened up the discussion, knowing there would be plenty of questions.
You don’t know why you even bothered to make plans with this lot; getting just about anything done was guaranteed to be nothing short of chaos.
“Oh, my gods. You are.” She breathed out in disbelief, a grin spreading across her face.
“Shut up.” James said as he slammed his hands down on the table, looking between you, Regulus, and Remus imploringly. “Shut up; no you’re not. Are you? Are you really?”
You let out an emotional laugh and nodded, looking down to your lap where you were nervously wringing your hands before one of Remus’ joined the mix.
“Oh my gods!” James shrilled as Lily let out an excited squeal.
“How far along are you? What are your cravings? Have you had terrible morning sickness? How far along are you?” Lily asked in rapidfire.
“Okay, okay. Salazar, take it easy.” Regulus admonished placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. “We’re almost fourteen weeks now. The cravings change almost every week, but this week it’s been spicy foods.”
This earned you all an indignant scoff from James at having spicy cravings and not going to him for recipes.
“Which has been awful for the heart burn.” Remus noted lovingly causing you to flush impossibly further.
“Morning sickness has been a bit of an issue.” Regulus continued.
“And is usually an issue well throughout the rest of the day and evening as well.” Remus added.
“Fourteen weeks!?” Sirius finally screeched, looking at the three of you in faux admonishment. “You’ve known for fourteen weeks that I was going to be an uncle-”
“Again.” James corrected quietly.
“Again.” Sirius agreed without breaking his stare with his brother. “...that I was going to be an uncle again for fourteen weeks, and you didn’t bother to tell me!?”
“Don’t be ridiculous, Sirius.” Regulus scoffed dismissively. “We’ve only known for almost eight weeks.”
“Eight weeks!?” James and Sirius chorused.
“I needed to be shopping seven weeks ago.” Sirius squawked.
Remus titled his head at his friend. “Why only seven weeks?”
“I’d need at least a week recovering from the fact that you’ve defiled my brother.”
You and Remus scoffed at that.
“Defiled him?” You begged incredulously at the same time as Remus muttered “I wouldn’t be surprised if this was his doing.”
James gasped dramatically at that. “Do you know who the other parent is?”
“James!” Lily and Remus chided at the same time.
“Now, Potter. Generally, when three people love each other very much, and they bring a child into the world, they’d all be parents.” Remus explained as if it had been Harry who asked the question.
“Sod off, that’s not what I meant. Is it going to be a Black? A little cub?” He carried on, sucking the air out of the room.
James always meant to say the nicest things, they just never came out quite right; and this time, he’d struck a bit of a nerve.
Fortunately, Sirius never allowed moments to stay awkward for long.
He groaned in disgust. “Never mind that; the child is damned either way. Do you know if it’s going to be a girl or a boy?”
You snorted at that as both Remus and Regulus harrumphed quietly and sat back in their chairs.
“It’s a little early for that, Pads.” Lily explained.
“The boys are divided on what the sex of the baby is going to be so they’re not going to find out until the baby is born.” You explained, causing Sirius to grin mischievously.
“They’re not going to find out, you say?”
“But you are?” James asked excitedly.
“Yeah, I’ll find out at the 16 week checkup.”
“Don’t even think about it.” Remus warned Sirius and James who both squawked in protest.
“Absolutely not; if Remus and I aren’t finding out, neither are you two.” Regulus proclaimed.
“Fine, but I want in on the bets; who’s betting on which sex?” James asked as he leaned his elbows onto the table - nearly right into his mashed potatoes.
“The sex of my baby is not a bet!” Regulus protested as Remus said “I think it’s a girl.”
Both Sirius and James hummed as they leaned back in their chairs and Lily scrutinised you.
“I think it’s a girl, too.” She claimed.
“Yeah I’m with Moony.” Sirius said as he brought his glass of wine to his mouth.
“Moony!?” James hollered. “After it took us 700 years to convince him we’d be fine on full moons and we’d been right and he’d been wrong? Nope.” He said with a pop of the p. “I’m putting my money with Baby Black.”
“Never call me that again, Potter.” Regulus muttered.
“Who all knows?” Lily asked as the conversation relaxed and you all began eating.
“No one.” You admitted. “You guys were the first people we’ve told.”
Lily made a sweet cooing sound as James and Sirius (and then Harry) cheered.
“Wait wait wait!” Sirius interrupted. “Does Junior not know!?”
You and Regulus grimaced as Remus barked a laugh.
“That’s next on her list.” Regulus answered, evading any responsibility of his oldest friend onto you.
“My list?!”
“He’s your friend.” He argued.
“He was your friend, first.”
“Yeah but he’d literally push me in front of a stampede of Hippogriffs for you.”
“Oh, don’t flatter yourself, Regulus; he’d push anyone in front of a stampede of Hippogriffs for fun.” You countered darkly, picking up the glass of wine that had been sitting in front of you before you realised what you were doing and Remus quickly plucked it from your hands and replaced it with a glass of water.
“Perhaps, but he wouldn’t push you in front of a stampede of hippogriffs, would he?” Regulus challenged, raising a perfectly arched black eyebrow at you.
He was so handsome it pissed you right off.
“You’re actually going to leave your pregnant girlfriend to the hyenas?”
I’m not leaving my girlfriend to the hyenas.” Regulus scoffed and turned back to his plate. “I’m only leaving her to one.”
Like the absolute sodding bastard that Regulus was, he really did leave you alone to the hyena. He claimed he had a meeting with the Wizengamot he couldn’t miss, but you claimed bullshit.
And the longer you and Barty travelled between the shops on Oxford street, the more you were beginning to lose your nerve.
He was your best friend; why were you afraid of him?
“The fuck are you looking at you stupid fucking tosser? I’ll rearrange your organs; keep walking!” He spat at someone he decided looked at the pair of you either too strangely or for too long, you’d never know.
Right….that was why.
Suddenly, Barty gasped dramatically and grabbed your arm rather roughly. “You know what we should do?”
“What?”
“We should get matching tattoos!” He said with a beaming smile.
You patted his cheek in a way that if even his own boyfriend had tried it, he’d have been bitten, but you were just rewarded with him leaning into it. “Barty, how many matching tattoos do we have?”
“Thirteen. Why?” He answered readily.
You laughed again, and took both of his hands in yours. “Actually, Barty. There’s something I need to tell you.”
“I knew it.”
“What?”
“You’re sick and tired of Reg and Lupin and you’re ready to run away with me. I’ve got passports and bags packed at the ready; we’ll start a new life in New Zealand.” He explained nearly all in the same breath.
“No! What? No, Barty I-”
“Oh my gods, you killed one of them, didn’t you? It was an accident; no, they deserved it, I’m certain of it. You need help hiding the body?”
“Barty!”
“Both of them, Treasure? That’s okay, I think there’s enough room in the Crouch family plot to hide them.”
“Barty! I’m pregnant.” You finally admitted, watching as Barty cut himself off mid sentence to stare at you blankly.
You were sure it was about 26 seconds of Barty staring intensely into your eyes with his hands gripped tightly in yours before those eyes flit down to your stomach.
It was another approximately 34 seconds where his eyes flit between both of yours and your stomach before he had his arms around your waist and was carrying you off to gods knows where.
“Barty Crouch Junior! You put me down right now!” You demanded.
He pfft’d at you and hiked you up further under his arm. “Fat chance; last time I left you alone for any amount of time, you got yourself knocked up.”
“Bartemus!”
With an overly dramatic sigh, Barty placed you down onto a bench on the street and crouched down in front of you.
“You’ve been pregnant all day and you let me drag you all around kingdom come?” He implored, shaking your shoulders gently. “You have two men at home; do they know you are out on your feet like this?”
“Well, yes, but-”
“Give me your cellular device.” He demanded, holding his hand out expectantly.
“Barty, seriously I-”
“The cellular device, witch!” He squawked with an impatient snap of his fingers.
You knew better at this point in your friendship than to argue with Barty when he got like this, and handed him your phone.
He looked at it for a few moments before hastily handing it back to you. “Make it ring Lupin, and Regulus too. I know you two convinced him to get one; he’s always text messaging Evan.”
You sighed and did as asked, organising a three-way call between you and the boys before Barty ripped it back out of your hands and held it to his ear.
“Yes, hello, am I speaking to one-half of the dumbest duo in all of the British Isles?” He spat into the phone.
“Yes, and hello Lupin, thanks for joining this call. There’s an emergency.”
You cringed at Barty’s very purposeful word choice when you heard the voices of both your boyfriends pick up in volume over the phone.
“Yes, well, you best hurry. We’re near the Disney Store on Oxford St.” Barty demanded before hanging up and looking at you excitedly. “We should go to the Disney Store!”
“What have you done?”
Barty didn’t have a chance to answer before you heard two snaps of apparition from an alleyway a few shops away from you and you saw your two boyfriends running over.
“Dove!”
“What’s the matter!?” Regulus demanded, crouching next to your form immediately as Remus knelt directly in front of you.
“Well hello to you too, boys. Merlin you’re with rude blokes, Treasure.”
Regulus’ silver gaze darted menacingly to Barty. “You told us there was an emergency.”
“Are you okay, dove? What’s wrong?” Remus asked you quietly. You offered him a reassuring smile before Barty carried on in his theatrics.
“There is an emergency, you knobhead. You’ve not only defiled this beautiful flower; you’ve allowed her to walk for kilometres with her condition!”
“Condition!?” You and Regulus squawked at the same time.
“Junior.” Remus admonished with a tired sigh. “She’s barely five months along and-”
“Five months!? You’ve been keeping this from me for five months!?” He beseeched as he turned his ire onto you.
“And,” Remus raised his voice. “It’s good for her to stay active; it keeps her and the baby strong and healthy.”
And didn’t that just shut Barty up.
“Hey. Yeah I’m alright thanks, how are you?” Regulus said into his phone, causing the three of you to all look over at him.
“Yeah, can you come pick your boyfriend up, please? Oxford Street near the Disney Store. Right. Okay, thanks. Bye.”
He pocketed his phone and looked at Barty with no lack of vexation.
“Now why would you call my boyfriend, Black?” Barty asked as he crossed his arms in front of his chest, causing you to scoff at the hypocrisy.
“You feeling okay, dove?” Remus asked again, squeezing your elbow gently with and looking at you with eyes so full of love and concern you felt like you were going to implode.
“I’m okay; we’re okay.” You insisted, causing him to let out a relieved breath and press his forehead to your abdomen.
“What have you done now, Junior?” Evan drawled as he casually walked towards the four of you with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
Barty stomped over to his boyfriend and plucked the smoke from his lips and vanished it disturbingly close to the muggles brushing past the two of them.
“We’re in one of those moods, are we?” Evan looked Barty up and down disapprovingly.
“She’s pregnant.” Barty emphasised, throwing a dramatic arm out behind him to gesture at you causing a passing man to have to duck lest he be clotheslined.
“Oh, bet? Congrats.” Evan said, nodding to the three of you.
“You’re supposed to be on my side!” Barty said with a stomp of his foot.
Evan simply rolled his eyes before he picked his boyfriend up and threw him over his shoulder. “Right, let's get you home.”
“Treasure! You need anything, anything, and you ring me, yeah? Get Regulus to give you Evan’s number. EVAN, TAKE ME TO A MOBILE STORE!”
Their forms disappeared behind a building a few moments before you heard a snap of apparition and you all let out a sigh of relief.
“You’re really okay, dovie?” Remus asked again, a protective hand cupping the nape of your neck and his other hand resting against your waist.
“Just fine, bubs.” You assured him, pressing a kiss to his nose. You were rewarded with Remus relaxing his shoulders and Regulus letting out another sigh of relief.
“Well, I think that went rather well.” You offered cheerfully.
That earned you an unimpressed glare from both boys.

DADDY RIENER⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ Dad Reiner headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you got pregnant you were nervous to tell your husband. You and Reiner decided to wait at least two years after getting married to try having a baby but it’s only been one.
But Reiner was beyond excited when you told him even more so when you found out you were having twins (he cried)
When your belly starts to show more Reiner comes home with bags and bags of clothes that show off your growing tummy. He also buys copious amounts of baby clothes and toys before the babies are even born
“Rei this is too much and sneakers? What are new borns going to do with these?”
They’ll grow into them angel, I’m not returning them.
He’ll rub your feet at any time.
Belly rubs and kisses
Is convinced the babies can hear him and has daily talking sessions where he tells them about his day.
Will feel guilty when you get morning sickness or when you mention how much your back hurts.
Shows you so much love when you feel down about how big your getting.
“You are beyond beautiful my love.” He says while kissing every inch of your skin.
Plans a gender reveal party (after you told him your friends would take care of it) and accidentally finds out the gender of the babies.
“I’m sorry but I told you not to do it Rei.” You say rubbing his back as he cries into your belly.
Secretly wanted twin girls (he seems like such a girl dad) but is glad your getting one of each.
Makes you all your favourite cravings no matter how disturbing they are
“Ice cream and hot sauce can’t be safe honey let me call doctor Anderson.”
Calls your doctor when any little minor thing happens to you.
“Hang up the phone Reiner before I shove it down your throat!”
Doesn’t mind your light violent outbursts.
When the twins are born Reiner is right by your side doing every thing on earth to make you comfortable
He asks his mom about all the things he needs to do and buy for when you and the babies get home.
Doesn’t minds spending all his free time with the twins. Dressing, feeding, changing, he doesn’t mind doing it all if it meant spending time with his kids.
“Rei why don’t I take d/n and s/n while you take a nap.” you caught Reiner nodding off with the twins laying on his chest.
“No I’m awake, I’m awake.” Terrible liar
When the twins turn 1 Reiner insists on throwing them the biggest party ever. It took you lots of convincing to downgrade it to a few friends and family.
“Okay princess go play and with your brother.”
“Reiner Braun did you rent horses for our one year olds birthday?!”
“Okay princess come and hide play with daddy.”
Loves when you send him mini vlogs and pictures of you and the twins when he’s at work or travelling.
Will purposely ditch work to spend time at home with you and the kids (dw hes the boss)
Keeping multiple pictures of the twins. In his car, wallet, his laptop and phone Lock Screen.
Will go insane if anyone messes with his kids no matter their age.
“I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“You called a two year old a dick Reiner.”
“He pulled d/n hair!”
As much as he loves the kids he misses alone time with you and always makes plans to spend more time together when the twins are with thier grandparents.

I wonder if you have any headcanons or dribbles of Ultron with a pregnant reader?
👀 the way I'd be pregnant for this man (I'm terrified of pregnancy and childbirth)
Warning: mentions of pregnancy (?) Child labor
He is the absolute best at everything.....i mean,it's Ultron
He makes sure he does research in every single area for pregnancy; he needs to make sure he stays informed with everything
Handles you gently and carefully; he is at your side whenever you need him
Either will be understanding of your pregnancy cravings and bring them to you, OR makes a healthier alternative option for you. No in-between
"I want chocolate...."
"Chocolate isn't good for you or the baby"
"I want chocolate."
"Okay, I'll get you chocolate" He gets everything in chocolate; chocolate ice cream, chocolate milkshake, chocolate anything for the entire day until you want another craving
Makes sure all the sharp edges in the house/apartment are child proofed, he doesn't want you bumping into them and getting into an accident
Carries you around with no complaint or struggles; heck, you wouldn't even need to get out of bed with him around
Will be putting on Mozart or Beethoven for the fetus to listen to
"It's good for them, they'll be smart like you."
You don't have to worry about any chores: the house? Clean within a blink and no traces of dust. The garbage? Taken care of, you don't even need to ask
Makes sure you're okay and comfortable; whenever you express hints of pain, he'll definitely panic and get into doctor-mode
"I have some great names picked out, if you haven't thought of any yet."
"Babe, I'm only on my second term."
"Can't be too prepared."
Cute dates with him like movie nights but the couch is just as comfortable as a bed; he has soft blankets and pillow all around
When it comes to later in the pregnancy, he's super anxious; he makes double the portion size that he would usually make
Will accompany you to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it doesn't matter, he will start fussing if you don't wake him up
"I don't want to bother you...."
"Nonsense. Bother me, your safety is not a hindrance for me. My system shut down is more insignificant"
"Babe, please."
Obviously he won't go inside and respects your privacy, but he will stand outside the door just in case
If you have work and your boss is being an incompetent fool, I know for sure that Ultron would fight with him via email
Ultron would grumble, ".....pathetic, what kind of nincompoop wouldn't give maternity leave? I hope his business burns and he goes bankrupt....."
You'd snicker at his use of vocabulary
And then the time arrives,
"....Ultron....."
"Hm?"
"I think it's happening....."
Immediate panic; he obviously handles everything, he calls his sentries and all that is needed to start the procedure
He doesn't really trust human doctors, plus he wants to be there next to you for the moment. He would be the most attentive doctor/medical personnel - the procedure and labor would be a major success!
He would also treat you to whatever you wanted after. To him, the first priority is your well-being after something so energy inducing/exhausting, then the attention would go to the baby (of course, he would place the baby in your arms before giving you attention you need)
He would definitely take care of the child so you could get the rest you need and deserve
At first, he would be too terrified to handle the baby....even if he knows how and the proper care for it - he's terrified of the idea of rejection from the baby, he doesn't want it to be afraid of him
However, the baby did not care at all. It babbled incoherently and reached out for Ultron, placing its tiny hands on his cheek to feel the coolness of the metal
"......this baby, I would kill for it." Ultron smiled. I only had them for a day and a half, but if anything happened, I would kill everyone and then myself type
He's good with kids, to an extent

THE MEDIUM AND THE DETECTIVE
On another episode of: "STFU, I don't care that the Fandom's DEAD! YOU CAN'T STOP ME!"
A Deathe Note L x Reader x Matsuda Angst Fic!
Summary: You're a suspect for predicting the Kira case, but can you predict this dick-
Warnings: SAD. Gender neutral, but, there is a preggers trope. You see dead people in this one. Happy ending!!!
Tumblr media
The first encounter with L was traumatic to say the least. Being a suspect in the Kira case, L was thorough. When your best selling thriller novel eerily predicts the Kira murders, you're naturally his first suspect in the case. But as his investigation continues he unfolds an even more unsettling truth.
A series of prophetic dreams drove you to write the suspensious book. And the dreams you are currently having continue to predict the murders before they happen. But because you're under 24hr surveillance, L comes to the conclusion that you are not Kira. But your spars visions of the future have been genuinely helpful and fascinating. So L keeps you around.
A curious friendship grows, and a budding romance between the two blossoms. You and L settle into a secret affair throughout the Kira Investigation as your dreams becomes more vivid and frightening. Your dreams often predict major events, even L's death, but certain pieces are missing. Like Kira has something protecting him from being seen.. As the murders continue, you become haunted by Kira's victims as they seek revenge for their deaths.
Matsuda has often acted as a friend. The golden retriever you can count on. The one that always greets you with a smile and gets you a cup of coffee. L would watch the two of you be friendly and even he could not deny the two of you had chemistry. He thinks someone like Matsuda would be good for someone like you. He'd certainly take care of you. You'd probably be better off- but.... L is selfish and jealous inside.
L wants you all to himself. He delights in having moments alone with you, though they are few and far in-between. Hell, Watari is the only living soul who knows about the two of you. So intimacy is truly rare, but that often makes it that much more passionate when you do get the chance. Depending on his mood and how tired her is, L can range from a dedicated lover to a frenzied lover. Pattern recognition is an important skill he's very experienced with.
Time passes and your situation changes. You become more of a paranormal consultant on the Kira case. Which, often comes in handy for L when he's trying piece things together. Your outside insight is be very helpful to him. But unfortunately for you, the longer the case continues, the worse your experiences get. Your nightmares become full on night terrors that you become stuck in. Matsuda has had to shake you from a few.
L sees the change in you before you do. He notices a change in smell first. You don't smell the same. Not bad. Just different. Then he notices how your appetite has changed. He sees the nausea in your face before you can even voice a complaint. L suggests a stomach bug first, keeping his suspicions to himself. So he has you see a doctor. A doctor who promptly informs you that you are....well...you know...in the family way.
When you return with glazed over and fatigued eyes, L's theory is confirmed. He looks at it very objectivly at first. He prepares for every possibility before he even starts the conversation. Regardless of your options, he makes preparations for each. He waits patiently for you to tell him on your own time, when you're comfortable. He doesn't take you trying to hide it as an insult, more than anything he feels himself becoming more and more nervous that you haven't told him. He comforts himself with the idea that you probably just haven't figured out what to do yet, so you're waiting to talk to him before you make a decision.
You tell him when you're alone. L doesn't move a muscle. He freezes. He expected this but the longer you waited the more he had to grapple with the idea of becoming a parent. Which is something L never expected himself to be dealing with. Especially not smack-dab in the middle of the most dangerous and intense cases of his life. So, he kind of panics. The conversation is deadpan as expected. For the most part he's honest about his feelings towards it. He honestly doesn't think keeping it isn't good idea, but he's well aware that isn't his choice. His voice is sweet when he says, "no matter what happens, I will ensure you are taken care of. No one will hurt you."
It isn't until he sees the first ultrasound that he kind of changes his tune. He stares at the picture, fascinated by it. When you ask about it, he says, "Watching something grow from nothing is indescribable." A very L answer. As much as he wants you to remain by his side. As much as he wants you, he knows it's only a matter of time. He knows that the longer you remain at headquarters, the higher the risk. If Light hasn't already put the pieces together, he knows he soon will. And as much as the evidence has proven his "innocence" he doesn't trust Light with a damn thing.
To rub salt in the wound, the longer you stay by his side, the worse your paranormal experiences become. You've been unable to sleep, you can't handle being alone or in the dark for very long. The ghosts of Kira's victims whisper in your ears and claw at your clothes. The more violent ones scream and shout whenever they get the chance. It's taking a toll on you. Everyone fears for your well-being. Matsuda and L especially. So when L finally sends you away, you understand. You're not happy about it in the least. But L is prepared to use force if he has to. He will not be letting you die. You're already at the end of your rope and if something were to happen to you, he'd never be able to forgive himself.
So you're sent back to your family with a large sum in your bank account. Child support in advance, if you will. The ghosts leave you be, and the nightmares ease up. The ones you do have are of L. And it's the same dream. Everytime it's his death. You did everything you could to prevent it and still your dreams are relentless. You've told L his fate before and he always regarded it with the same interest as every other dream, like it was nothing special. You would try to contact L but he made sure you would have no way to reach him.
The only person who is allowed to contact you besides himself, which he doesn't anyways, is Matsuda or Watari. Watari calls on occasion pretending to be your doctor. He asks questions about your condition, your medical records, your paranormal experiences. You assume he's doing this to keep L up to date on your current status. When you ask why L does not call himself, Watari tells you that he's busy, but he sends his regards.
Matsuda calls every couple of days. He's only allowed to call when he's alone and he's not allowed to share information on the Kira case for obvious reasons. But he's more interested in how you're doing anyways. He asks you about what you've been up to, how you and your family are doing. If you have any plans for a new novel. He's been a fan of your work since before the investigation began. He's a breath of fresh air. You look forward to his calls.
Suddenly the calls stop for a while. There's a deep pit in your stomach one morning as you look outside your bedroom window. There's a faint sound of ringing that you can't shake. So you go on with your day, trying to regain your sense of normalcy. Failing miserably when sometime in the afternoon you feel a great loss. That night as you lay in bed, pretending to sleep in hopes that dreams will creep in anyways, you feel a presence.
A familiar figure stands at the foot of your bed, watching. You know who it is right away. You can practically see him even with your eyes closed. The scent of coffee, vanilla, and paper follows him as quiet footsteps come to the other side of your bed. You're afraid that if you move or open your eyes he'll disappear. So you lay there as the blankets are pulled up and he crawls into bed with you. Laying down behind you and wrapping his cold arms around to spoon you. You lay there in his ghostly embrace for a long while, just trying to memorize the feeling in hopes that it will never leave you. He leans in, cold lips pressed against your ear as he whispers. "I was right." And then he's gone.
Matsuda calls a few days later, crying. When he finally gets the words out to tell you what's happened, he's met with a cold: "I know. Thank you, Matsuda." He finds himself being comforted by you. He knew that you and L were close. He knew you were friends. But he had no idea the relationship you had, nor the evidence that has reached a healthy 6 months. He implores you to attend L's funeral but, you can't do that. Emotionally and physically it's out of the question. Light is Kira. You know that. You've always known deep down, deep in your heart and so did L. After all, he was right.
Misa tries to contact you, you pick up the phone only to hear her voice. You hang up and change your number. Light tries to contact you, claiming its in regards to L and the Kira case. He wants to bring you back. You almost throw up right then and there. Instead, you hung up the call, close the phone, and smash it with a hammer. Matsuda is the only number you remember and the only person you trust. You don't trust him to know that Light is Kira. But you trust him to be good and kind. You trust him to visit you.
You pick him up at the airport when he comes out to visit you. You look so different he doesn't notice you. He passes right by you before you call out his name. You're visibly pregnant at this point, roughly 8 months. Your hair is longer and full. Your skin is glowing, your eyes are vibrant when they peak out from behind your sunglasses. You look nothing like the sickly, haunted spectator he knew you as. When he sees your belly, he just stares. He's speechless.
He's far too stunned for form a real sentence for about an hour as you drive him to his hotel. You laugh at him as he stares.
"It's good to see you too, Matsu." You joke with a smile. He goes red in the face.
"Uh- You look- You look great!" He croaks.
"Thanks."
"You're...um...are you-"
"Glowing? I am. Thank you for noticing." You tease him. It's good to have a friend close by again. He's not allowed to know where you're staying with your family, just to be safe. If Light were to ever decide to torture or kill Matsuda for information, you have to be sure. It's a risk even letting him see you like this. But you never win without taking a risk.
"So then you're...married?" He asks, a bit disappointed. You turn to him, your expression confused.
"What?? No. Do you see a ring on my finger?"
"Well no...I just...you're...uh-" You can see the gears turning in his head. Like he has all the pieces he just doesn't want to put them together. "How far along?"
"8 months? Give or take." You answer honestly. The pieces have been put together regardless. The puzzle is nearly complete, much to Matsuda's horror. It's L's. He knows it. There's no other option. Chief Yagami and Aizawa are out of the question. You've always hated Light from the moment you met. L...you were so close with L.
"Why didn't I see it before..." He mumbles to himself.
"You weren't supposed to. No one was supposed to know. No one is supposed to know." You tell him firmly. "This stays between you and me, Matsuda. I'm telling you this as my friend. In confidence that no one else on that task force will know about this. If no one else knows that L is dead, no one will know about this, understood?" Matsude nods in agreement as he pouts. He tries to apologize. He's overly emotional about the whole thing. Extraordinarily sympathetic to your situation, as he always is.
He's deeply worried about you and the baby. He's worried about you doing everything alone. You try to reassure him you have a family for support and a bank account that looks like a social security number thanks to L's estate. But still, Matsuda feels like he could be doing something to help you. You're his crush friend! He can't let you do all that alone. He knows L left you with everything you might need to be a single parent but...still...
"Marry me!" He blurts out one night.
"WHAT!?" You bark.
"Marry me! We'll be a family, you'll never have to worry about a thing. Let me take care of you!" He begs. You pause for a moment, it's as if you can hear L's voice in your ear. 'Matsuda's acting stupid again.'
"No! I'm not marrying you! Are you insane!? What good would that do me anyways? I'm taken care of as it is, I don't need you." Matsuda pouts but ultimately understands. He was out of pocket just asking you like that. He let his emotions get the better of then again. But he can't help it. He sees you alone like that and he just wants to take care of you. He wants to hold you and tell you everything is going to be okay. To comfort and love you.
He's at the airport when you call him. You've gone into labor. He's there for you before your own family is. The man booked it through the hospital looking for you. He's incredibly nervous seeing you in so much pain, but he's determined to support you. You're not sure why you called him. Why you wanted him there. It's not even his kid but...still...It probably has something to do with the long nights you spent waking up from night terrors. His arms around you, rubbing your back as you sob in terror. He makes you feel safe.
Matsuda is holding your hand when L's daughter is born around 3am on October 31st. Matsuda cuts the cord and he holds her first. He sits beside you in a chair as you rest and recover. He knows the baby isn't his but when he looks down at her, he feels his heart swell with pride and wonder. A part of him feels guilty for being there. L should be sitting where he is, holding his own child and being there to hold your hand. Tears fall from his eyes and onto the bundle beneath him.
As time passes, Matsuda keeps your whereabouts and your little family a secret. He visits, as often as he can. He lies to Light and the others about where he's going. And because it's Matsuda, the loveable idiot, Light doesn't suspect or even entertain the idea that he's lying to him. He watches as the child grows into a remarkable combination of you and L. She has his pirecing eyes that greet him when he walks into the front door of your home.
The little girl adores Matsuda. He's sweet and silly. He brings her toys and treats. She likes to sit on his shoulders and play with his hair. All things considered, he makes a good father.
Things are winding down to a disturbing close in the Kira case. The day before everything goes down, you have another dream. L is standing over his daughter's bed, watching her carefully. He turns to look at you. "I love you, very much. I'm sorry I've never said it before. You've done well with her and everything. But the case will soon be closed." In this dream he approaches you and holds you close in his arms again. "Goodbye."
You wake up to the sound of your daughter screaming a crying for you. You rush to her aid. The next few days pass with a defeaning silence. Matsuda doesn't call, which by now is irregular considering he calls almost once a day now. But by the end of that week, something lifts. Like sun has finally peaked through the clouds. A weight is lifted from your shoulders a you feel lighter than you have in years. You feel like you can breath.
Matsuda shows up unannounced in the dead of night. He looks exhausted, heavy bags under his eyes. His cheerful and bright nature stripped away from him. He shuffles into your home and starts to sob. You hold him close as he describes the horror he's been through. What Light did- What Matsuda did to him. This time, it's your turn to comfort him. He stays the night. Sleeping in your bed with you as you remind him he's safe and warm with you.
In the morning he feels better. Still depressed but, his smile returns when your daughter sees him sitting at the breakfast table.
"Are you having breakfast with us, Mat?" She asks as her little fists rub the sleep from her eyes.
"Is that okay with you?" He asks her. She shrugs and climbs up the chair to sit in front of him.
"I don't care. You could have every meal with us." She says as he eyes focus over the small plate of child-sized pancakes. Matsuda watches her with a loving gaze. If only he could. If only...
"You stay, if you wanted to." You say softly as you place a gentle hand on his shoulder. "You could stay."

I think it's so weird when people refer to pregnancy as a "trope", usually negatively being like "ugh I hate the pregnancy trope". As if pregnancy was some plot construct and not a thing that is part of most people's lives at some point, either being pregnant or supporting a pregnant partner. Like... pregnancy happens irl and those people have stories too so what's the deal?
Idk, I guess it's valid to think "ah pregnancy can really hamper other plotlines" or whatever but it's so weird to call it "the pregnancy trope". Like it was on par with the one bed trope or the chosen one trope. Outrageous.

The theme for this fest is Teen Pregnancy - and while we're aware that Teen Pregnancy is not everyone's cup of tea, we would like to take a moment to stare that we are not supporting teenage pregnancies but we are supportive of teenage parents no matter what their circumstances are. This fest is to celebrate authors and artists who have chosen to give teenage pregnancies representation within the Harry Potter fandom.
If you would like to join us, you can find further details, the fest rules, and important links here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16FPjrLgzzhUVMSsqhOR7IwWmMj98XHT3QI6QkXWGMEo/edit?usp=sharing

DISCLAIMER: I don’t mean surprise pregnancy or any one specific trope, just the general presence and focus of pregnancy within fics.
I’m genuinely curious because I’ve seen so many people reacting negatively to it but at that same time there have to be so many existing fics for a reason.

A great alternative to the 'pregnancy and/or baby plot' so many people (me included) hate, I rather like the 'find or/and adopted a child' plot
maybe because you want your character to raise a child with their S/O or just want some drama? write cute stuff with kids? want to start the next generation? want your character to be a cool teacher to a kid?
having you characters willing wanting to have a baby in the middle of a conflict or right after it is irresponsable and dangerous, having them take in a war orphan (or any child the plot can create, they could be the offpring of a defeated enemy, of a dead friend...) is far better
and i personally find interactions with older children better and pregnancy more often than not portraited weirdly in those 'pregnancy plots' (Feyre's 'baby rich' smell what the actual fuk)

Whenever I see book lovers run at the sight of the pregnancy tag/trope in fanfiction I laugh. I know you're traumatized by books having it, but fanfics with it are usually wholesome I swear!

Could you continue on the moon water x pregnant reader, where she’s further along? And how the boys react, like who’s more protective Remus or regulus? Who’s doing all the cooking? Just a cut little domestic fic
Also I love all of your work!!
THANK YOU FOR REQUESTING I TOTALLY DIDN'T HAVE THIS DRAFTED UP IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE LAST ONE....THAT WOULD BE EMBARRASSING LOL thanks though I love this little dynamic so friggen much
poly!moonwater x pregnant!reader who's in her first trimester
You learned a lot about yourself and both of your boyfriends throughout the first trimester of your pregnancy.
Though you had always known that both Remus and Regulus were prone to worrying, you learned that they both had very different methods of worrying over you.
Regulus was what you called a fusser. He was constantly fussing over you. Adding extra servings to your plate unprompted. Running out the night he found out you were pregnant to buy prenatal vitamins and potions (muggle and magical), which he served to you each morning himself so that he knew that you were taking them. No one was allowed to use the loo attached to your bedroom, as that toilet was deemed the vomit toilet, which he disinfected twice a day in case you needed to ‘rest your poor beautiful face on it’ as was often the case. He insisted you stay bundled, almost forcing extra layers on you before you stepped outside. And he insisted you begin pelvic floor exercises immediately.
Remus was what you called a coddler. He was always hovering over you at the off chance you might need something at that exact moment. “Are you comfortable, dovey?” “Do you need anything?” “Are you thirsty?” “Did Regulus upset you?” “Do you want me to rub your feet?” “Do you want me to call you in at work?” “Why don’t we go take a nap, hm?” “Have you drank enough water today?” and so on and so forth.
What you learned about yourself during the first trimester of your pregnancy?
You hated being fussed over.
“Regulus Black, I am full.” You pressed, shooting your boyfriend a stern glare where he stood beside you, serving spoon hovering in the air from his attempt at putting more on your plate.
“Amour, I don’t think you’ve had enough to eat today. You’re eat-”
“For two, she knows. Bubs, she full named you, I’d cut your losses if I were you.” Remus stage whispered to Regulus, shooting you a sympathetic albeit concerned glance.
Regulus looked distressed as he awkwardly hovered at your side, seemingly trying to decide between surrendering or pushing his point.
“Maybe just-”
“Full!” You shrilled, standing from the table and storming off towards the entrance. You pulled on a pair of shoes and your jacket before grabbing your car keys and heading for the door when you noticed movement in your periphery.
“Regulus I swear to gods, if you come over here with another jacket I will set you on fire.”
Without missing a beat he turned on his heel and disappeared back from whence he came - one of your jackets still firm in his grasp.
Regulus, Remus, and James all gawked at you when you told them you wanted to buy a car. You were a witch, you could get anywhere in seconds with a flick of your wand, a portkey, or a handful of floo powder.
Lily understood the contentment that came with going for a drive once in a while, but your biggest supporter had been Sirius. He loved almost nothing more in this world than the way he loved his motorcycle.
He had insisted on accompanying you car shopping, and whilst he teased you to no end for not choosing the flashiest car available to waste Regulus’ inheritance on, you were happy with your purchase.
You were also beginning to wonder if portkey and apparition was a safe way to travel now-a-days, what with your pregnancy and all.
You’d driven for maybe all of twenty minutes before you were parked back outside of your flat, staring at the navy painted door.
You felt ridiculous for getting upset. It’s not even like this behaviour of theirs was new, though it was perhaps heightened on account of your growing family.
You hated drawing attention to it - not one to minimise your own feelings - but you also supposed you were feeling… extra sensitive lately on account of the…hormones.
You suddenly felt teary; Regulus was being so thoughtful; you haven’t once had to think or worry about, well, almost anything. He ensured you had everything you needed, and you never even had to ask for it.
And Remus was always close by to ensure you never wanted for anything, willing to drop whatever he was doing on a sickle to serve you.
Fuck, they were saints, you were awful.
Feeling thoroughly ashamed of yourself, you got out of your car and made your way to the flat, shucking off your jacket and shoes before moving down the hall to the living room.
Regulus snapped his head in your direction immediately, whilst Remus smirked to himself and calmly placed a scrap of paper in his book to mark his spot.
“Amour, I-”
“I’m so sorry, Reggie.” You whimpered, causing Regulus to deflate and his face to fall in misery.
“No, darling, no. You have nothing to be sorry for.” He insisted as he moved to envelop you in his arms.
“I was awful.” You muttered into his chest causing him to chuckle.
“You were not awful; you were really quite reasonable.”
“I was mean.”
“Amour,” he pressed more seriously, pulling away from you and forcing you to make eye contact with him. “When I broke my heel and was stuck in that cast for weeks, what did I say to Rem when he was fussing over me?”
You chuckled slightly as you looked over to Remus, noticing him roll his eyes fondly at the memory.
“You told him to go fuck a cactus.”
Regulus looked at you with an expression of pride. “I told him to go fuck a cactus.” He agreed dreamily.
“Dove, even if it doesn’t always feel like it, you’re working awfully hard right now. You’re going to be tired, perhaps a little irritable, and it is more than fair for you to tell us to back off, yeah?”
You pushed your face back into regulus’ chest as you felt your sinuses fill painfully.
“Yeah.” You whimpered back pathetically.
Remus made an equally pathetic cooing sound and moved to stand behind Regulus, wrapping his arms around the both of you.
“Probably doesn’t help to have two of the most overbearing partners, hm?” He asked as he rubbed circles into your back.
“You’re not overbearing.” You argued.
“No?” Regulus asked, pressing a kiss into your hair. “What are we?”
“Lovely.”
“Dove? Are you crying?”
“……no”
“Why are you crying, amour?”
“Because I’m pregnant and you’re lovely.” You whined.
They both chuckled at you and the three of you stood in each other's embrace.
As was usually the case, Regulus was the first to break the silence.
“I really would feel better if you ate a little bit more tonight, amour. Can I get you anything, anything at all?”
You suppressed a groan and thought really, really hard about it. You supposed you were a little peckish, and if you didn’t eat now - you’d surely be hungry by the time you got into bed.
“Can we have fast food?”
Regulus let out a sigh of relief and Remus barked a laugh.
“You know, I was sort of hoping you’d suggest that, Dovey. I’ve been dying for some curly fries.”
With nothing more said, Regulus went and grabbed two jackets for you, tossing you the car keys and asking if you were in the mood for a drive to look at the city lights.
You sat parked in a turn-off facing a bridge and overlooking the Thames, watching the lights of cars, planes, and boats dancing along the water in your view.
Though both boys had been nothing but supportive of you and your pregnancy, you knew that they both had some worries and fears that only their brother and best friend could pacify.
“We should probably tell the others soon.” You admitted finally.
If you didn’t know better, you’d have assumed the silence in the car meant that you actually hadn’t said anything out loud at all.
You did know better, though, and it was the way Regulus’ spoon paused halfway between his ice cream and his mouth that assured you he had, indeed, heard you.
“Really?” Remus asked first, breaking the silence and rebooting Regulus’ hard drive as he finally brought the spoon to his mouth.
“Yeah, I think it would be helpful, for all of us really. I mean, James and Lily have done this before, and Sirius would be very enthused.” You explained.
The three of you had decided to play it safe and wait until the end of the first trimester to start telling anyone, with this being your first pregnancy and all.
You knew, though, that if you weren’t already starting to show (the boys insisted you weren’t, but you think they were just trying to appease you), you would be very soon.
Regulus finally hummed and plopped his spoon into his now empty ice cream cup.
“Or,” He started, keeping his eyes trained on the scenery in front of him. “We could pack up, change our names and move to Switzerland.”
His suggestion was met with silence (and unimpressed looks from both his partners that he didn’t bother to look at himself), causing him to groan and sink further into his seat.
“Fine. But you have to deal with Sirius’ insufferable excitement.” He pouted, though he couldn’t hide the soft blush adorning his cheeks and the little smile gracing his lips.
“Your options are Sirius or James, bubs.” Remus chuckled.
“I still don’t see why Switzerland’s not on the table.” Regulus countered, earning him a pinch in his ribs from Remus.
You picked the right ones, you thought; you had the best family to bring your little one into.

Winter is an ice queen. She’s never been able to count on anyone. Even with her sister, Summer, who’s been trying to welcome her with open arms, she’s isolated. And one night she locks eyes with a rugged bull rider at a gas station, and her life gets a whole lot more interesting.
If you had told me after reading book one that Winter would be my favorite among the Elsie Silver heroines, I would have died laughing. However, it's true: she is.
Winter is an incredibly resilient heroine. Despite lacking a positive maternal role model, she embraces her newfound position as a mother with unwavering determination, exceeding all expectations. She's a true overcomer, and while it may take time for people to break through her defenses, once they do, they discover a person who is incredibly kind, fiercely loyal, and overflowing with love.
Now, let me introduce you to Theo. This man personifies perfection through his unwavering love, care, and devotion to both of his girls. Every gesture he makes is a swoon-worthy display of love. Stepping seamlessly into the role he was destined for, Theo's character shines brightly. The dynamic between Winter and Theo is magnetic, with their opposing qualities drawing them together in a way that's utterly captivating.
"𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬." 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬. "𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐝, 𝐈’𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐟 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞."
These two were absolutely everything. I couldn't get enough of them together. I loved their journey almost as much as I loved their banter. Theo is the calm to Winter's storm and I loved how they balance each other. I'm completely addicted to this series and I can't wait for Beau's book.
If you're hesitant due to the secret baby aspect, I strongly suggest giving this one a shot. Elsie's unique spin on the trope is truly worth the chance!
