Yunho + Firsts (Gender Neutral Reader)

First Date: He may have asked you out beneath beautiful blossoms, but your first date is at the zoo. He bounces like a puppy at the adorable way the baby pandas roll, holding out his phone for videos. There’s a photo op that gives you panda ears, so of course Yunho pulls you over to it for a shot! You guys probably also get matching gift shop plushies too.
First Time Holding Hands: On your first date! It’s a little step forward in affection for sure, but it feels right even though it happens by accident. It’s a bit of a run to get to the next round of aviary entrances and Yunho really wants to make it, to get a chance to feed the beautiful birds and maybe even have them land on you! In his excitement he grabs your hand, tugging you into his little jog to the pay booth.
First Kiss: You guys have a few dates before the first kiss. Neither of you mind, enjoying each other’s company and valuing that more than anything physical- Yunho makes that clear from the start! He wants that moment to be very traditional and romantic, so he knows the moment will come to him when it’s right. That moment comes at your doorstep after your first nice dinner together, when he tells you what a wonderful time he had, reminds you how beautiful you are, before cupping your cheek lightly and following your leaning lead to connect your lips.
First ‘I Love You’: It isn’t something you do, some concrete action that sets the gears turning in Yunho’s head. It’s just the joy, the sheer completion he feels in your presence, the way you don’t have to do anything to make him smile. Facts about each other fall naturally from both of your lips. So when he sees you all dressed up for an extra nice night out, smiling up to your eyes not at the gifts in his hand, but at him, it only cements his decision. When you ask him why he’s showering you with all that he is, he smiles widely and the answer comes out as easy as it would be to say his own name. “Because I love you, (y/n), that’s why.”
First Fight: In all honesty, it takes a long time for you guys to fight. Yunho isn’t an aggressive or argumentative person, so he doesn’t get angry easily or enjoy picking fights. The argument you guys have is small, but it feels heavier due to being your first fight. He hadn’t been sure if he could make plans of yours and cancelled last minute. You completely understood, but it was still very upsetting so you snapped a little and he shot back. You guys felt terrible and apologized quickly, though, hearts dropping at the thought of hurting the other.
First Anniversary: The first milestone is your hundred days. Yunho goes very classic, taking you out to lunch in the cutest café he could find and gifting you a set of matching couple rings! And playfully swapping them, of course, to see if each one fits both of you! By the look in his eyes as he slides your ring on your finger, you wonder if he’s thinking about another chance he could have to do that a little further down the line…
First Pet: Your first pet is a puppy! We all think of Yuyu as a dog person, and I think this would fully carry through as he muses on wanting a puppy, prompting you to surprise him for Valentine’s Day with the new fluffy baby! It’s important to adopt, not shop, so to get your golden retriever you research a rescue. You know he’s yours the moment you see him, big and wide-eyed as he jumps into your arms. When he came there, it was with a broken leg, and your heart melts at the pictures of him in his little cast. Yunho names him Hero because your little man is a survivor 💛

“Now, African plated lizards are omnivores, which means what?”
The guide pauses as a dozen hands shoot into the air. She nods to a boy in a blue shirt with a panda on it.
“They eat meat and vegetables,” he says proudly as the guide nods.
“That’s exactly right. They can eat flowers, fruits, and leaves but they can also feed on invertebrates, which are….” She pauses again but this time no hands go up. “Animals without a backbone like insects and worms and spiders. However they can also feed on other small lizards and baby tortoises.”
All of the kids in the school group make a horrified sound as they look at the box turtles in the holding tank that she showed them earlier.
“You don’t have to worry,” the guide assures them, “here at the National Zoo they’ll get a healthy diet of salad and crickets.”
It seems to quiet their fears and she moves onto the next animal, a tree frog that immediately tries to hop out of her hands.
Beside TK, Agent Reyes startles then covers it up by fiddling with his tie.
“Are you ready to go?”
“What’s the rush,” TK asks, “we’ve got all day, don’t we?”
His job here had been fairly simple. A quick photo op behind the scenes with the head keeper and the director of conservation, a private tour of the reptile house to see where the newly acquired lizards would call home, and a drop in on a local school group at the zoo on the field trip.
He could leave now. He could slip out the door and be on his way without any of the kids or chaperones noticing, but he thinks the reptiles are interesting, and more importantly, he’s sure that Agent Reyes does not.
He had been noticeably uncomfortable during the tour, keeping his distance as TK leaned in close to get a good look at the Komodo dragon and the rattlesnakes behind the glass, and nearly fled the room when the curator told TK he could pet one of the cutest little geckos he’s ever seen.
“I think I should get a pet lizard,” TK says. “I think it’s time we put a pet in the White House.”
“Your mother has Ginsburg.”
“Ginsburg is practically human. I’m talking about a pet.”
“Adopt a dog,” Agent Reyes says, “or a cat.”
“But lizards are so cute. I can put them in my pocket and carry them around with me. It would be like you’re protecting the both of us. Do you think it would be the first lizard in the White House?”
Agent Reyes shakes his head, eyes trained on the frog as the guide shows him off to the kids.
“You’re probably right, I bet Teddy Roosevelt’s kids had all kinds of animals.”
“I was gonna say Regan, actually.”
TK barks a laugh. “That’s offensive to lizards. Wait, did you just make a joke?”
Up front, the frog jumps from the guide's hand onto the head of one of the children, and they all react with glee while Agent Reyes takes a step back.
“I’m going to wait outside. You’re secure here.”
TK watches him go then jumps in to volunteer when the guide asks if anyone wants to hold a garter snake.
“Reptiles aren’t your thing?” TK asks when he joins Agent Reyes outside after the school group has moved on.
Agent Reyes looks him over, like he’s checking that there’s no threat of lizards or frogs. “I just think there are more interesting things to see here.”
“Oh, like the bear cubs!” TK says. “I’ve been following them on Instagram and they’re so cute. I should ask the head curator if I can hug them or something.”
“I don’t think she’s going to agree to that.”
“You’re such a buzzkill,” TK tells him as he steps over to read the zoo map on the wall. “I’m assuming the Regan joke was a one-off.” He traces the path from the reptile house to the Andean bear enclosure. “I’m gonna go look. You can come if you want.”
Agent Reyes stays an infuriating half step behind which makes TK feel more paranoid than protected.
“Is there a rule that you have to walk behind me? It makes me feel like I have a stalker.”
“You probably do have a stalker.”
TK turns and walks backwards. “Paul never used to shadow me like this and he had no problem keeping me safe.”
“Agent Strickland and I have different styles.”
“Well, yours is being creepy,” TK says as he turns back around and lengthens his strides to Agent Reyes has to work to keep up.
By the time they make it to the exhibit, TK has to lean his arms on the concrete barrier and catch his breath.
On one of the rocky outcroppings the cubs wrestle, one of them rearing up on his hindlegs to pounce, only to tip backwards, leaving his brother to launch his own clumsy attack.
“Isn’t that the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?” TK asks, looking back with a scoff as Agent Reyes keeps his eyes on the pathway. “Would you at least look at the bears every once in a while,” he says, reaching out and yanking him up beside him.
“Ironically the bears are the only place where I know the danger won’t be coming from.”
TK rolls his eyes. “Who is going to get me at the National Zoo, in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week? Doesn’t this stalker have a job?”
“Mr. Strand–,” Agent Reyes cuts himself off and crowds closer as a group of school children round the bend, flustered looking chaperones doing their best to keep them in line.
“Yeah,” TK says, “those kids are real scary.”
“I’d prefer it if we kept moving.”
“Fine,” TK says, pushing himself away from the barrier.
They wander down the path with Agent Reyes following more closely this time.
“I want to get up to New York,” TK says as they make their way past the sea lions. “Soon. I haven’t seen my dad or Alex in way too long and I should probably check in at the office so people still remember that I work there. I won’t tell anyone that I’m going, I promise and I’ll keep a low profile while I’m there. Lunch a few times with my dad and then just hanging around out with Alex. He’s not a partier so there’s nothing to worry about.”
“Okay,” Agent Reyes says slowly. “Okay, we can do that.”
“That’s good, because I’m not really asking for your permission. This was more of a heads up.”
“You know,” Agent Reyes says, laying his hand across TK’s arm to stop him from storming off. “I know I’m not Agent Strickland, and I’m not trying to be. But I’m also not the enemy. I think we have the same goal here—keeping you alive.”
“I guess there’s some truth to that,” TK admits and Agent Reyes smiles tightly.
“I’m glad we’re finally on the same page. Where are you staying?”
“My apartment?”
“It doesn’t have a doorman.”
“It’s safe.”
“I’ve seen photos. If you lean on that door it’ll pop open. I don’t know why you live there, anyway.”
“First of all, it’s not that bad, and second of all it was the first place I got when I moved out of my dad’s apartment at nineteen. It keeps me humble. But, if it’s going to be a whole thing, I’ll stay with Alex. His place has a doorman.”
“I’m assuming you already cleared this with him?”
“He’s my boyfriend. He wants to see me.”
Agent Reyes puts his hands up. “Okay. We’re going to need to bring more agents.”
“Oh c’mon—.”
“It’s too big of a city and odds are you won’t even know that they’re there. I’m doing you a favor by telling you beforehand. I thought we just came to an understanding?”
“Fine, but it’s going to be a waste of their time. If I can get Alex out of the office I’m not planning on letting him out of the apartment, if you know what I mean.”
“I can imagine,” Agent Reyes says dryly before checking his watch. “Are you ready to go?”
“I thought maybe–.”
“Good,” Agent Reyes interrupts. “The fastest way to the exit is straight down and then the first right.”
“Okay,” TK says, a little surprised at the sudden demand to leave. “I guess we can go.”
Agent Reyes nods and stays two steps behind him on the way out.

Taangy question for ya… How does Toph tell Aang she’s pregnant?

Ope. It’s been probably years since you asked this stitch, but here goes nothing. *snuggles into couch to get back into my chaotic Taang universe feels*
First, in my universe, I’m making it so that when someone’s pregnant, they become a super bender (if the kid is going to bend the same element as the mother) and their bending is damped/weakened if the kid is going to be a different bender than them. If they’re a non-bender then it’s just a normal pregnancy (maybe this whole pregnancy thing will be a separate post). This is also in no way accurate to anything, I’m just making things up as I go along lol.
Since it's been a long time since I've thought about my dunebabies ideas, I'm just going to start with Gyatso.
Ok, so I like to believe that since he’s an airbender, Toph becomes kind of clumsy and bumps into things because her seismic sense is a bit distorted from the pregnancy. She obviously feels the heartbeat too. Aang notices her clumsiness but doesn’t mention anything about it until Toph brings it up.
Aang of course doesn't know about these symptoms because they're pretty young when having him. So, they are sparing one day, and he beats her. He's shocked but proud of himself because, let's be honest, he rarely beats Toph at sparing. So naturally, he teases her relentlessly. Toph can only handle the teasing for a few short minutes and yells back in annoyance that the only reason why he beat her is because she's off balance due to being pregnant.
Aang immediately is excited by her outburst and attempts to touch his hand to her abdomen. Toph swats his hand away and flicks his head yelling, "I'm not an animal in a petting zoo!" Her exasperated expression softens and she murmurs, "You can sense the baby with earthbending."
He closes his eyes and focuses on Toph's form and senses her and a faint extra heart beat.

Summary: A list of some of my OC's and what they enjoy doing at the Pumpkin Patch!

Tom: He loves kicking back with a coffee and a warm cinnamon roll or cookie made at the pumpkin farms concession stands while his grandkids play on the hay bales and run around the play areas with the large bikes and bouncy stuff.
Dally: She loves wandering through the sunflower fields and cutting her own stalks for a beautiful sunflower bouquet. She also really enjoys the corn maze and trying to solve the clues to get out of it.
Lenani: Loves going on a hay ride out to the patch and picking some of the biggest pumpkins to bring back and carve with the kids! Also the quick "pumpkin patch" photo ops and looking cute while doing it!
Kar'ta: Like his mother, Kar'ta loves the corn maze. However his goal is to get completely lost so he never has to go to school again.
Tann: She loves going to the pumpkin patch gift shop and looking at all the cool handmade goodies. Her dream is to own a rag doll or a set of hand carved blocks
Rotta: Loves the petting zoo! He thinks its so cool to be able to go and pet goats and sheep and he secretly tries stealing a chicken every time.

So, let's talk about exotics and why you're probably not a responsible owner. (This isn't directed specifically at OP as I don't know them or their situation, rather just in general.)
Most celebrities with money to buy the best enclosures, food, care, vets, etc. aren't even capable of taking care of exotics. Let alone "normal" people.
Most people are not equipped to best care for an exotic animal because the simple fact is exotic animals aren't meant to be pets. Animals mixed with coyotes or wolves, lions, chimps, or any other exotic animal.
Ethics of breeding
Before you even get the animal, you have to deal with the ethics of them being bred. How do the breeders you're looking to use operate? Do they poach babies, for example? Such as the high rate of trafficked cheetahs.
Do they practice unethical breeding practices such as excessive breeding or inbreeding?
What are the conditions their animals live in? Are they well taken care of with lots of space? Are they in good health?
Space
The biggest issue people run into is simply not having the space for the animal. Wolves, for example, cover around 30 miles a day while hunting. They can run up to 40MPH.
These animals cannot be kept in the house. You simply cannot give them enough exercise if you keep them in the house and just walk them.
So, let's say you keep them outside. You have to have a big enough yard for them to run full speed if they want to.
Do you have that kind of space available to you?
But you also need fences to keep them in the yard. Coyotes can jump up to 8 feet and wolves can jump up to 12. So, you have to have a fence that's taller than that and it would probably be best to give them at least a couple feet extra just in case. Do you live in an area that allows you to have fences that tall? Most areas have a fence height of a max of 8 feet.
You also have to worry about them digging out. Do you have a feasible plan to stop them from being able to dig out from underneath the fence?
Food
Exotic pets often cost so much money to feed. Wolves need at least 3.7 pounds of meat at the absolute bare minimum just to survive. But on average, they eat about 10 pounds. Do you have a place where you can buy that much meat? Do you have a place to store the meat that isn't being currently eaten? Can you afford to feed them that much? With prices being up so high, people struggle to even feed themselves meat, let alone an animal.
With different kinds of animals, it's also important to provide them their array of diet. Animals such as raccoons and coyotes are what's known as scavenger animals. This means they eat whatever they can come across. It's important to feed them a variety of foods to keep them healthy.
It's also important to be providing them with the appropriate levels of things such as calcium and other vitamins that keep them healthy.
Because there's not a premixed food for them (like there is for dogs or cats) that means you have to do it yourself. It will be at the very least difficult, if not impossible, to make sure they're getting the right amounts of different foods and vitamins needed.
Health
You'll need a vet nearby that you can take your pet to as well as the money to afford them. Where is the closest exotic vet to you? Do they actually care for the type of animal you have? (Keep in mind, there's often a difference between an exotic vet and a large animal vet.) Do they cater to the public or only zoos? What all can they do? Can you afford their vet bills?
Enrichment
Not only does an animal need a lot of things to keep them occupied, they likely also need company. Where it's easy to keep a large group of rats, it will likely be harder to keep a large group of wolves. The average pack size is 4-9, but a minimum of two can happen. Do you have the space and money for at least two wolves? What happens if they become aggressive with one another, what's the game plan at that time?
Danger
Exotic animals pose not only a threat to their owner (who has consented and taken on the risks associated), but also strangers and neighbors who have not consented to taking on that risk.
Do you have kids or animals in your neighborhood? If so, having an exotic pet that can seriously injure/kill something likely isn't the best decision. Coyotes, for example, are notorious for attacking and/or killing pets. And there's even been a few cases of children being attacked by coyotes, and at least one child death due to them.
What happens if your pet escapes?
Pet chimps, for example, have a long history of escaping and posing a threat to others around. They are often a danger to children, animals, and adults in the neighborhood.
What precautions do you have in place if your chimp begins to attack someone or something? And more importantly, can you emotionally and mentally use them?
Calling the police will take too long and they will likely not be equipped to handle the situation.
Do you have sedatives that you can administer successfully from a distance? How long does it take you to get it ready? How long does it take to work?
Do you have a weapon in case you need it? Are you emotionally and mentally able to kill your pet if needed?
TLDR: While there's nothing wrong with truly ethical exotic pet ownership, the vast majority of people simply do not have the means or preparedness to ethically own an exotic pet.

here's some art! below is gonna be me rambling ^w^
angst rambles, warnings for: mind fuckery, angst, memory loss, possible feelings of helplessness, mutilation maybe, sororicide, and more angst :}
side note, this is written as a script type thing, and meant more for people who are focusing on unicorn mann and ryan. enjoy!
two universes, this is gonna be gore on crack. we take the "100 days as" series, specifically the ones with the slaughter houses run by Farmer Unicorn, then we take the friends series and put that in the same universe!
let me explain. Ryan in the friends universe has the spooky scary spell book of dark magic. easy to transition into body stealing shapeshifter, especially if that same child is fighting a war and suddenly needs to do something super risky.
Unicorn Mann however, he's not a hero. no no no, he's something SOOO much more oh no. he's the terrifying boss of Unicorp. as in, fuck with him and you'll be on the other end of his boomstick for a few seconds before you're a bit of everywhere.
if i decided to draw this guy, it would be holding a minigun one handed level of "oh no no no no no-" vibes.
anyways, Ryan gets 100 days to get out or complete his objective in a farm before he gets found out. usually the objective is just escape, but there have been a few times where he had to destroy a location. such as the pet zoo and lamb chop diner. {breaking point!!}
the important order to see how messed up this can get is the first four, chicken, cow, pig, sheep.
that sheep is special, like the "ohhhh nooo..." of sheep. because that's bluey the sheep! not to be confused with bluey the wolf in this series.
after that event i head canon that he had to take memory loss pills because he couldn't function with out breaking down. {the sheep one made me go "yo should someone check on him? is.. is he alright? my goodness gravy..."}
but he starts acting tired and he keeps forgetting more stuff. and Ryan? oooo boy. the sheep farm destroyed both of them mentally...
Ryan stopped trying to save the other creatures in the slaughter houses, because the stakes were literally rigged for him to be the one to escape in the sheep co-op slaughter house.
the pink sheep he was doing the co-op slaughter house with literally 180 no scoped into lava when it died. Ryan got to witness that through a window of glass after trying to convince them that he'd find another way to save them.
more info: Unicorn Mann doesn't have magic, because "Santa Claus" has his wish magic. but Farmer Unicorn still knows how exactly to deal with it and keep him from using the magic, he also knows the consequences. as in, he got wished OUT OF EXISTENCE BY THE END OF THE EPISODE.
but he still came back, showing that being wished out of life is temporary. {this gives me more angst ideas, but that's on a different tangent that could probably get me shot.}
the butchers are horrific, they are supposed to be humans but it seems more like horrible accidents that wear bags over their heads to hide the fact they are bloody walking meat. and no, that's not the british slang bloody.
and i almost forgot to talk about the bosses. such as, Gertrude, Burtha, Big Sheepus, Bently, Honky Horse, BIG FEEESH, Big Fish, Weeper, Borbav, Endie, Ms McMuscle, Buff Zombie Boss, Big Skelerton, Crazed Goat Man, Snow Man, Ghast, McCrushy, Chief Enforcer, General Jim, Elf, Chargin' Chuck, Mecha Bat, Mecha Spider, Mecha-Spider Prime
some of them are well cared for, some of them are robots, others even unicorn mann in his distorted state goes "yeah this bitch crazy, anyways! you're the sacrifice right now!"
now to what i hope will be not me rambling about the farms.
Ryan being a very unstable and cold being barely holding it together, Unicorn on the verge of a break down. Ryan shifts back into human, Unicorn Mann sees, and is just flooded with memories.
he's fine. {i definitely don't like to pull this move when he's about to kill Ryan by blowing his head off.}
as an extra little side bit, the pink sheep being a combo of Pink and Kara :} cause kara is a ram, and pink is pink! so why not have a horrific realization that your pseudo sister and one of your friends is dead and it's your fault?
this is all just ramblings and ideas, thank cheese stick for dragging me back here and getting me to reveal the fact i have this despite the anxieties.

Chaos and cheeto
We said goodbye in the parking lot of Wild Eggs a few hours ago. It was raining lightly but we stood there smiling as her mom buckled her into the blue car. She wanted Pop's car! D just texted me they're home now. Safe
Life seems so quiet after a few days in the company of our three year old granddaughter. She is constant motion and noise. Even though the weather was perfect, I took few pics, usually I was packing her around. At 35 wriggling pounds she packs above her weight. I love it.
I carried her through most of the zoo Friday evening, putting her down so she could walk up timidly and hold out her plastic bucket for candy at dozens of booths. We'd far more candy at home but it's about the ritual you know.
Young people in costumes handed out the candy while the most popular characters (Disney princesses) were staged throughout the grounds for photo ops accompanied by music that everyone (else) recognized. Snacks including adult beverages were sold at near airport prices and in all, I thought it a nice event for kids and parents.
Saturday we went to a fav burger and malted joint then spent most of the day at two kids parks. The first (Tyler Park) was sat in the old Highlands neighborhood with a playground at the end of a large grassy field surrounded by trees and hills. Her favorite parts were the large stone bridge with a precarious rock path under it and an uneven trail made of logs with the tops sawn flat for better footing. She "petted" a small terrier called Toby and a sheep dog called Cara. Throughout, a beautiful rain of leaves was punctuated by kids rushing, climbing, and sliding and dogs grinning and chasing.
After we sat on the rooftop of a nearby brewery for a drink, watching traffic, before detouring slightly through the Hillcrest neighborhood famous for Halloween decorations. So much plastic. Scary!
Our second park was an entirely different affair. A small area fenced with warning signs prominent, a latched gate, and no dogs allowed. It was ultra modern safe, the ground spongy and rubbery. There were 4 kinds of swings, three with safety harness, and lots of smooth plastic platforms perfect to climb on with buttons to push, wheels to spin, colored disks to look through and bell's to ring. After an hour of that regimented chaos we took her for a final trick or treat.
This one was at D's niece's church. It sucked.
Lol, D seemed surprised at the aggressive proselytizing. If we'd followed programming, we would have taken a tour of the church culminating with a family photo on the church steps and only then could we be registered for the drawing. Lol scary!
When you have to highjack Halloween and bribe people to sample your soul saving methodology you might question if what you offer is any more than trick or treat.
On the way home today, I noticed the building being demolished in downtown New Albany. It looked like war, images of Syria or Ukraine. It rained all the way home. It's quiet now and I can hear the rain. It sounds peaceful and life-giving. What a grand weekend for us.
How sad so many experienced the same two days we did but instead of joy, they've had fear, pain, hunger, death. Every day I'm glad and I'm also reminded many others will end their life rather than endure another, many will suffer at the hands of others, many will succumb to sickness or hunger. Every day trick or treat.
Sure, let's worship the being responsible for all this. Don't question his plan, it gave you joy today and another family got the tragedy of a child's death by car wreck, by illness, by parent, by stranger, by war. Be thankful because if you don't submit and love him, you will be cast into an eternity worse than even life can bring to bear. Lol scary!
A guy I'd known through work for years called me Friday. We'd lost touch when he began to go through a traumatic event. His wife of 25 years decided to divorce him and he hadn't seen it coming. It's a common story really. In any case he said he was happy now, he loved writing music, he was remarried these last four years, and he had his ministry thing. He said it was obvious The Lord had planned this for him because he and his new wife both joined EHarmony on the same day.
<sigh>

Also Friday someone posted about his son who jumped off the front of a shopping cart and ran into a post impaling his eye on a metal strut causing brain trauma.
Saturday the headline read, Toddler killed in crash on I-71 North
Today a headline read 150 killed in Halloween crowd crush in South Korea.
Some may wish to attribute the vagaries of the world to the Lord's plan. If I thought some being was responsible for the every day death of an innocent child, I'd sign up for the resistance.

Things To Do This Fall in Chicago and the Surrounding Suburbs
The hot weather is slowly coming to an end, and the temperature will start cooling off. It’s almost Fall time, and that means there will be a ton of outdoor activities you can go out and do! We’ve gathered a list early this year so you can plan in advance, and get tickets as needed because a lot of events have presale tickets! Most of these activities take place in Chicago, or the suburbs, but you can also take these ideas and find another location if the location listed doesn’t suit you.
1. Look at the changing trees
Starting out with something free, this is a perfect activity to do if you want to walk around and breathe in the fresh Fall air. There are so many places that have beautiful trees around this time of the year.
Morton Arboretum
Jackson Park
Lincoln Park
All of these locations have a beautiful display of colorful trees when Fall comes around.
2. Morton Arboretum
Speaking of the Morton Arboretum, there are a couple of different activities they host for the Fall season.
Scarecrow Trail: Open daily in October from 7AM to Sunset, you can walk around the trail and view all of the scarecrows along the trail. The scarecrows are all made by local Boy Scout troops, and at the end of the trail you can cast your vote for your favorite scarecrow.
Fall Color 5K Run and Walk: On October 1st, 2022 at 8am, you can participate in the Fall Color 5k run! There will be live music, and a post-complimentary beer for those over 21 years of age. In person cost to participate is $50, and if you’d like to participate virtually it is $45.
Glass Pumpkin Patch: Open Wednesday, October 12, 2022 and runs through Sunday, October 16, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, you can go and view or buy the hand made and designed glass pumpkins. You can also watch daily demonstrations by glassblowers making pumpkins out of the glass into beautiful masterpieces.
Cider and Ale Festival: Saturday, October 22nd, 2022, from 12pm to 4pm, you can sample 80+ beers, ciders, and meads at the festival. This event comes with a souvenir tasting glass.
3. Night of 1,000 Jack-o'-Lanterns at Chicago Botanic Garden
Open on October 12-16 & 19-23, 2022, you can explore 1,000 hand-carved pumpkins in all their beauty illuminated. They are all real pumpkins, and there are some up to 150 pounds! There are famous Halloween characters, celebrities, and live carving demos all included into admission. Pre-sale tickets drop in a couple of days, so make sure to snag them to get the time you want!
4. Boo! At The Zoo! at Brookfield Zoo
This event is only open on Saturdays and Sundays October 8 to 23, 2022, so you better act fast and grab tickets, it won’t last long! What kid doesn’t like the zoo, and you can dress up in your costume and there’s plenty of cute photo-ops all around the park to stop and snap a picture.
5. Spooky Zoo at Lincoln Park Zoo
This event is a one night thing, so if you miss it, it’s gone! Children are able to trick-or-treat from 10am til 1pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022. This event is free for all ages.
6. Visit a Pumpkin Patch
There are tons of pumpkin patches around Chicago and the local suburbs, but we listed our favorite ones for you to visit to get the best experience.
Bengston’s in Homer Glen - This is one of the most popular pumpkin patches in the area, so be aware it might be a little crowded. This pumpkin farm has rides, a petting zoo, and lots of areas to get yummy snacks and drinks. Notice: Bengston’s is CASHLESS as of this year.
Konow’s Corn Maze in Homer Glen - This is the cutest little pumpkin patch, and very underrated. Ticket prices are $12 on Monday-Friday, and $15 for Saturday and Sunday, so you get a lot of bang for your buck. This pumpkin patch has a huge corn maze, a corn pit to play in, a petting zoo, and tons of games to play. They also have a little track with tiny scooters to ride, as well as a huge jump pad that all the kids love.
Odyssey Fun Farm: Corn Maze in Tinley Park - This farm is built on 110 acres of land, and filled with fun to during the fall season. There is a HUGE pumpkin to take pictures with, a pillow bouncy, a corn pit, a petting zoo, hay rides and pony rides.
Jack’s Pumpkin Pop-up in Downtown Chicago - This is one of those events that’s aimed towards the adults. Children can get in in the day time, but at night it’s adults only. This is a perfect place to go if you love photo-ops, because that’s the main point of the place! There is a huge corn maze, axe throwing, bars all around, photo-ops, and carnival games all over the place.
There are tons of things to do in the Fall time, whether it be just as basic as walking around and enjoying the crispy fall air. Get out and enjoy the weather!!

I’ve decided height change AU can only mean a more frustrating life for Rex not a cooler one (because hes already op).
He can’t control how tall he grows, it’s entirely dependent on how many nanites that aren’t his are in his system so Rex spends more time towering over people than being eye level. It’s harder to casually spend time with people so the little canon relationships he has with agents is not possible. When Rex offloads and is regular sized he’s like an hyperactive toddler: he’s running around without the fear he’s gonna crush someone, he practically teleports to Noah’s to play video games because his hands are finally small enough.
There’s a huuuuge hanger dedicated just to Rex, it’s mainly a super large bed and other necessities. The “phone” in his hand is like…..tv sized. Rex has various outfits that stretch but to different lengths, so Rex has to know which one to put on each day.
Once Rex reaches a certain height it gets super sucky. He’s practically on a smoothie only diet, as it’s too hard to prepare complicated food that large and almost all of his entertainment is too small for him.
He spends a lot more time in the petting zoo playing with Mel.

When you first told Timmy you were pregnant, he was like a little kid on Christmas morning hyped up on sugar who just opened his favorite present (I could go on but you get the idea)
Actually, you didn’t tell him. On Father’s Day, you gave him a little gift with a onesie and on it, it said “you’re going to be a daddy!” Surrounded with little black hearts
He stared at it for a good 10 minutes with his mouth hanging open
Seriously someone could’ve tripped over his jaw
During your pregnancy, he was constantly massaging your stomach and buying gifts for the baby when it was ready to come out
He also would read to your stomach and your baby would kick whenever he did (so he did it a LOT)
He cried when you both got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. The doctor had to hand him two boxes of tissues. Timothee tried to pay a lot of money to get a recording 🥺
If anyone tried to feel your stomach, Timmy would give them a death look and tell them it’s not a petting zoo (ppl may have started disliking him after that. he honestly couldn’t care less)
When you were in labor, he was stuck between crying out for joy or crying out because you were squeezing his hand way too tight
Was antsy when the nurses were first to hold his baby but tuned everyone out while they were showing him how to change a diaper
Despite watching a total of 30 tutorials during the span of your pregnancy
Timmy is usually a light sleeper anyways so he’s up in 0.5 seconds if he can sense your baby is about to cry (dad senses)
his heart honestly cracked in to pieces when your baby was crying the first night home
he may have cried a bit when he couldn’t put your baby to sleep right away
actually for a period of time, you were the only one who was able to put your baby to sleep and when you were away from home on a business trip for a few days and your baby was crying, timothee had to sit down when he burst into tears
Called you in between sobs and hiccups saying he was an awful father because he couldn’t even put his own child to sleep
You had to FaceTime him and walk him through the steps of tightly swaddling the baby, and bouncing it
And his face couldn’t be hurting anymore while smiling when his baby’s first words were “daddy”
Posts more frequently photos of his child and you two. Although he does want to protect his baby’s privacy, he can’t help but give Jimmy Kimmel or Ellen updates while on their shows
SUPER antsy when he has to leave the baby to go on a show or film a movie (and he was so emotional filming Dune because he loved filming it but he was so homesick for you and the baby)
He used to party a lot and go out with you to clubs, after parties, wild celebrity birthdays but after his child was born, he got really domestic. He stopped eating so much junk food and started shopping at hippie co-ops, Whole Foods, farmers markets etc.
Really excited for the day when his child is older so he can make embarrassing dad jokes (because that’s what being a parent is basically all about)

“Shhh, don’t wake up your mama!”
Natasha crinkled her nose at the noise around her, still partly muted from the nap she was just waking up from. She wasn’t sure what time it was - just that she closed her eyes in the middle of an old movie and she Steve were watching, knowing damn well it was just background noise while they cuddled in silence. One thing she knew for sure was that she was alone on the couch now but a blanket was draped over her. Giggles erupted next to her ear and she fought against a smile tugging at her lips.
“I think mama’s awake anyway,” a voice answered, an obviously failed attempt at a whisper.
“I think she’s still sleeping,” Natasha joked, peeking an eye open and seeing James right in front of her. He was grinning ear to ear, but there were specks of mud on his face. “James? Did you not listen to Nana and played with the pigs again ?” Fully awake now, Natasha sat up and took James’ face in her hands, leaning in to kiss his forehead. He giggled, throwing his arms around Natasha’s neck for a hug. “Honey,” Natasha pulled away fractionally, “you smell stinky.”
James nervously laughed and tried to explain. “I might have fallen in the pen.” Natasha narrowed her eyes, seeing right through her son’s lie. She didn’t have to be a spy to know that he’s lying - and, judging by the sheepish smile on his face, James knew he can’t fool his mother either.
“Whatever happened to watching him?” Natasha asked Alexei, her voice stern but teasing. No matter how many rules for the kids she tried to establish, it seems that they go out the window once the grandparents are in charge. She knows it should annoy her, yet she can’t help but find it cute. Melina and Alexei are only lenient on the little things anyway, respecting major rules that Steve and Natasha has laid out for their kids.
Looking up from the newspaper he was reading at the kitchen counter, Alexei’s eyes widened. “What do you want me to do! He said he fell! Right, James?” Alexei argued, throwing his hands up and winking - obviously wanting James to make his mom believe that he didn’t deliberately play with his grandma’s experiment - er, pet - pigs. James giggled and nodded, loving his little game with his grandfather. Natasha’s convinced the two of them spending so much time together will drive her to an early grave.
“Yeah, I don’t think even your dad could be convinced of that, bud. Go, take a shower please.” He nodded and ran up the stairs to the bathroom. Yawning and stretching her arms, Natasha turned to Alexei. “What time did you guys get back? And where’s everyone else?” She eyed the clock and saw that it was nearing 7pm. Melina and Alexei took James and Sarah to the Cleveland Zoo earlier in the day, insisting that the kids stop by there before they go back to New York the next day.
Melina and Alexei’s farm in the suburbs of Cleveland became a frequent vacation spot for Steve, Natasha, and the kids. Ever since the Red Room was taken down, Melina and Alexei decided to go back to Ohio and settle down - if that’s what they want to call it. The two have been working with Yelena in tracking down more Widows and other victims of the Red Room - as well as running covert ops in taking down child-trafficking rings - from their farm. Yelena is more of a nomad - being more active in the field by traveling all over the world, although she usually stops by the farm or Natasha and Steve’s house in New York.
“We only have been here for an hour. Steve’s helping Melina with some stuff in the back. Sarah does not want to leave her grandmother’s side,” Alexei smiled fondly. Sarah has thoroughly stolen her grandfather’s heart and it shows.
Natasha nodded, checking her phone for messages. “Is Yelena stopping by? The kids haven’t seen her in a while.”
“Eh, you know her. She might, she might not.” Natasha looked up at that, narrowing her eyes at him. Alexei put his hands up again. “I don’t know. She said she will try. I did not want to put the kids’ hopes up so I did not tell them.”
Natasha smirked. “That sounds like her.” She stood up and headed to the back door to see if she could spot Sarah and Steve. The little girl is sitting on the back of a pony, with Melina standing next to her with a hand perched on her back - although Natasha has a rising suspicion that the pony is a little bit too behaved for a regular farm animal. And Steve is - oh - now breaking logs in half. For what, Natasha isn’t sure, but all she knows is that he makes a damn good sight to see.
“I used to look like that, you know. Maybe even bigger.” Alexei, who Natasha didn’t notice have moved next to her, suddenly piped up, seemingly following her line of sight. “Your mom - you know, those years we lived here - she liked it, I could tell.” Natasha wrinkled her nose, frowning as she looked up at Alexei. “What, what? I’m just saying. He’s not the only super soldier in the house. I’m just saying. I put on some weight but I still look good, no? Melina still thinks so.”
“Okay, calm down. I don’t really need all the gory details.” Natasha shook her head, looking back at Steve. He’s almost through his pile of whole logs, his shirt now almost completely drenched in sweat.
“But that’s my point - there are still gory details,” Alexei winked at Natasha’s overly-dramatic shudder. “You know. If you two need more weekends alone, Melina and I don’t mind having the kids over. You just have to tell us.”
Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, Natasha turned to meet Alexei’s eyes. “Ha ha, I get it. As weird as what you’re trying to say - thank you. I appreciate it, really.” He grinned, his right arm reaching around Natasha to envelop her in a one-arm hug. It took a while for Natasha to let Alexei start hugging her again, and once she did, he never let a moment to do so pass.
Natasha caught Sarah’s eyes when the latter looked up, waving with her free hand. She heard Sarah squeal and say something to Melina, who nodded at the little girl. Sarah brought her arms out and was lifted off the pony by her grandmother before making a mad dash to the back door where Natasha was standing. Alexei slid the door open just in time to hear the “Mommy!!!” screech coming from Sarah, with said little girl running into her mom’s open arms.
“Hi honey! How was your time at the zoo today?” Natasha asked while hugging Sarah tightly. The little girl hugged her back with all her might before letting go, excited to answer her mom’s question.
“I had so much fun! Grandma taught me about animals!”
“Go on, tell your mama which one is your favorite,” Alexei prodded, reaching down to help straighten Sarah’s hair.
“I liked the monkeys! They remind me of Rocky,” the girl replied, making Natasha sputter. Ah, yes. Sarah and her ever-fascination with Rocket Raccoon will never not amuse any of the other Avengers.
“Make sure to tell him that, honey,” Steve suddenly piped up, having walked back with Melina. He stood next to Natasha and planted to swift kiss to her lips.
Natasha wrinkled her nose, flicking his arm. “You stink, go shower after your son,” she waved him off, sending him laughing up to their room to get changed.
“And do you remember what animal group monkeys are a part of?” Melina asked, kneeling on one knee next to Sarah.
Sarah paused for a minute, scrunching up her brows in the same way as Steve often would when thinking - something Natasha would often tease him about - before answering. “Primates!”
This made Melina beam and kiss her forehead before standing up. “Very good, baby! You’re the smartest little girl I know!” she praised, making Sarah giggle. Turning to Natasha and Alexei, she inclined her head to the kitchen. “Come on, dinner should be ready soon.”
Once Steve and James got back and helped set the table, they all gathered around the table to eat. Melina made Borscht and Stroganoff - both of which are favorites of James and Sarah. They were laughing about how Sarah tried to ride one of the ponies at the zoo thinking it would be as tame as Melina’s pony, only to have it get spooked and run away when the doorbell rang. The adults all exchanged a look as Alexei stood up to answer the door.
“Who’s that grandma?” James asked, glancing up before taking a bite of his food.
“Your favorite aunt, it’s who!” A voice bellowed, followed by a tapping of feet.
“Auntie Yelena!” Both children chorused, rushing out of their seats to greet their aunt before she even reached the kitchen. “Fanny!” they squealed once the dog found them and started circling their feet.
Yelena walked into the kitchen with Sarah and James latched on both of her sides, Fanny following right on their heels. “Hello, everybody. Thanks for not waiting for me before eating,” she deadpanned.
“We didn’t even know you were coming.” Melina answered, scooping more soup into Steve’s bowl.
Yelena’s mouth dropped. “Natasha knew! I texted her. This is so unfair,” she huffed and sat down on the available seat next to Steve once the kids let go of her.
“What? I wanted it to be a surprise!” Natasha argued, smirking at her sister. “Isn’t that what you would’ve wanted?” she asked before eating a spoonful of Stroganoff. Yelena pouted, taking a piece of bread and biting into it.
Conversation flowed nicely throughout dinner, and it wasn’t until everyone moved into the living room while eating dessert did Yelena start braiding Sarah’s hair. “Are you ever going to color your hair, honey?” She asked, her fingers swiftly yet delicately weaving through the little girl’s hair.
“Oh please, Yelena, she’s six. Don’t give her any ideas,” Natasha waved her off, passing the bowl of ice cream to Steve.
Melina laughed, getting everyone’s attention. “It’s funny you say that, you know. Considering you would put temporary dyes in Yelena’s hair when you were younger. Not to mention your blue hair,” she nudged Alexei’s side, making him snort. “Remember?”
Steve looked at Natasha, his mouth dropping fractionally. “You had blue hair?” That got James’ attention too, as he turned to them from the TV.
Natasha narrowed her eyes at Melina before looking at Steve. “You’ve seen me with how many different hair colors already?”
“Yes, but that’s different because those are for missions, so it doesn’t mean the same. You had honest-to-god blue hair?” he tried asking again.
“Didn’t you bring the photo album with you, mama?” Yelena asked, looking up at Melina.
Melina nodded and stood up from the couch, plucking the album from one of her bookshelves. “Here, see?” She brought it over to where Steve and Natasha were sitting, setting it on the coffee table in front of them.
The photo album looked worn but the pictures were still clear, surprisingly. It contained the tale of their undercover family in Ohio, yet it all felt very real. Steve smiled softly at a young Natasha - he’s seen some of this pictures before, but the photobooth shots of a young her and Yelena have been new additions to the album. He figured they might have had it restored because it looked crisp and blown up.
“Wow, she wasn’t kidding. You did have blue hair,” he remarked, making Natasha glare at him. “What? It looks good! You looked so… punk.”
“She does have a flair for the dramatic,” Yelena agreed, tying Sarah’s braid in place. “There, all done! Show your mama.”
Sarah skipped to Natasha’s side, showing off her new braid and getting praises from her parents. She looked down to where everyone was looking at, noting the pictures for the first time. “Is that you, Aunt Yelena?” she pointed to a picture of a little girl holding a box in front of a tree.
Yelena knelt down next to the table to look at which photo she was pointing at and stifled a laugh. The ends of her hair in that picture have tints of pink in them, probably from one of Natasha’s so-called “experiments” back then - where she would usually test out a color on Yelena’s hair too before committing all of it on hers. She nodded at Sarah, “Yes, honey, that’s me. That’s your mom next to me.” she pointed at where a young Natasha was smiling brightly at the camera.
“Your hair looked like candy!”
Looking smug, Yelena leaned back to look at her sister in the eye, who was already shaking her head. “Well, honey, it’s a good thing your mom knows a lot about hair colors.”
Steve snorted at the inside joke between them just as Sarah started rattling off a list of colors she wants to try. It sounds like she might just be listing every color she can recall, but Yelena knows Natasha has at least found her new muse to experiment hair colors with.

Space Vlad AU/Time jump AU
Space Vlad AU is an AU (duh) that I created based of a comic I made when i was just 12 years old. This is a post that explains the basics of this universe.
It takes place 10 years after Phantom planet.
In this AU, Vlad died in space because of the Disasteroid hitting him.
He spends years stuck between space and the ghost zone.
He claimed a whole as turf for himself in the ghost zone and if anyone comes near they WILL get clapped by a crazy, very op, space man.
In this AU, Vlad has become more powerful, smarter and loopier.
But so has Danny (Not the loopy part tho-)
Those are the basics of this AU, getting into more details, in this AU Danny and the ghosts still get into fights with each other, specially with all the new ghosts that have popped out in the past few years.
There’s also an anula peace day that is The Anniversary of not Dying to a Fucking Asteroid™ where humans and ghosts gather to spend one night together, there are usually lots of ghost inspired games made by both ghosts and humans like a “Skulker’s (ghost) petting zoo!” by Skulker and “Whack the Ghost Punk!” by Walker to name a few.
Once Vlad comes back shit gets wild tho-
He has been training for so long, its was only a matter of time before he decides to try and get revenge on the ones he believes have wronged him when alive. His way of working is taking his sweet sweet time in the ghost zone plotting then making and extremely destructive attack on the human world, and if this fails? then just rinse and repeat
This AU may or may not get content updates, but these are the most important things to note about it.

Demon Brothers at the Zoo
How many human world animals do you think they know anyway? I’m not much of a zoo person myself, but I was watching a nature documentary and just had a thought you know?
Lucifer
If they’re going to drag him to the zoo fine… but he’s going to make sure they make the most of their time. They’re going to have seen the whole place by the time they leave.
Absolutely the sort of person to get the park map and take five minutes to try and figure out the fastest route that will let them see as much as possible.
NO MEANDERING, they have a time table to keep! If they’ve only got two hours then they better get moving!
Limits the amount of time they can look at any animal, doesn’t matter how much the MC likes that particular species. If it’s their favorite, then they might get an extra minute but don’t push it.
If they go to one of those zoos where they let certain birds just roam free then the peacocks may start following him like a mother goose… By the time they leave, he’ll have his own avian army at his beck and call.
Mammon
So�� humans get a bunch of animals together in one place and have other humans pay to just look at them? That’s it?? That gives him some ideas… Hey Levi! How’s Lotan doing??
Didn’t see what the big deal was before they got there but as soon as he starts seeing the animals he turns into one of those overly hyped kids who suddenly wants to see everything!
The whole day will pretty much be Mammon pulling the MC from one enclosure to another based on what he thinks looks coolest in that literal split second.
He’s practically a bird whisperer so if there’s a walk-in bird exhibit he can get nearly any one of them to land on his hand no problem. He’s like a regular Disney Princess in there!
Yes, he is going to want to visit the gift shop and yes, he is going to want some of the most expensive stuff in there. He can be placated with something cheaper, but they will be walking out with something.
Leviathan
Will only go if there’s an aquarium. He cares about nothing else. Lions? Bears? Pffft, the seahorses are clearly where it’s at!
Is honestly the most relaxing person to go to the aquarium with anyway. He has a practically encyclopedic knowledge of most of the fish there so he’ll add little fun facts throughout the whole visit.
He does creep out most of the other patrons a little though because fish tend to gather around him whenever he gets too close to the glass…
At one point he had a whole herd of sharks following him when they went through one of those fish tunnels and it was freaky.
Eventually they tried popping into the reptile exhibit and every single snake in the room raised their heads up to look at him at once… Some poor lady fainted so they cut their visit short after that... Should have stayed in the aquarium...
Satan
He’s happy to come along because he’s always been curious about human world fauna… is what he says but let’s be real, this man is excited to see the big cats!
Lowkey kind of steers the MC towards the cats as soon as he gets his hands on a map. He won’t admit that he’s really excited to see them if they ask him up front… but the look in his eyes when they finally get there says it all. 😏
The kind of guy to always make sure to read whatever info placard they have out, no matter how long it takes. Will read them out loud for them if they ask.
So he likes the big cats like the lions and the tigers, but he’s really drawn in by the smaller ones like the ocelots because they’re closer to looking to domestic cats.
The MC will have to keep a close eye out for any patrons who try to harass the animals because he WILL punch them if he notices. Full on, no restraint. Don’t fuck with animals when Satan is around...
Asmodeus
Wasn't too crazy about the idea of walking around in the heat and animal smell but went anyway because maybe he’ll see something cute, right? Human world animals are so much more cuddly than what they’ve got down in the Devildom…
Truthfully, animals LOVE Asmo, like all animals he comes across act like they just want to be cuddled by the man.
Cue tons of adorable scenes of Asmodeus kneeling down by the glass of different enclosures and getting the animals to follow his movements or put their paws against the glass where his hand is.
They eventually develop a bit of a crowd of people following them from enclosure to enclosure just to see how Asmo will “charm” the next one. He even befriends the damn squirrels! Photo ops galore…
Some of the staff eventually pick on it and end up cornering him to try and ask him what his secret is, but of course, he’ll never tell... 🤫🤭
Beelzebub
Only agreed to go as long as the MC promised to pay for whatever snacks he wanted. He doesn't exactly trust himself not to get hungry if he sees an antelope or something…
Pretty happy to go and see whatever as long as he has something to munch on… Popcorn is really his go to treat but he’ll take ice cream too!
Was pretty nervous when the MC wanted to visit the butterfly exhibit since he didn’t want to accidentally step on anything but let them pull him in anyway.
His fears didn’t last very long though because pretty soon the butterflies started to land on him like they were being lured in by sugar water. (It's 'cause you're so sweet, Beel 🤭)
The MC now has a very well-timed picture of Beel trying desperately not to sneeze because he had a very bold butterfly perched on his nose and he really didn’t want to bother it...
Belphegor
Lowkey loves zoos and used to visit them all the time with Lilith back when they were still angels so he won’t fight against visiting one again.
Truthfully he’s the chillest of the group. Doesn’t care if they don’t see everything or where they go as long as they stay together.
He’s second only to Asmo in getting animals to relax around him. When he and the MC swung by the petting zoo he practically attracted every animal there like catnip.
The cow may be his animal, but lambs love Belphie too for some odd reason... He managed to get three little ones to crowd around him while they were there. They kept nudging at his hands and legs like insistent children until he finally gave them some attention.
The MC bought him a sloth themed pillow to go with his cow one. It has a strap for him to wear like a backpack and though he thinks it's reeeaallly on the nose, he kind of loves the convenience so he doesn’t complain.
