You guys know any queer comics where characters are Fae/Interact with Fae? I'm writing an essay on the intersection between queer comic spaces and Celtic mythology and I'd like to know if people have thoughts/recommendations.

Ok I'm making this its own post because I don't want it to clog up the intended lighthearted post I made yesterday.
But as my friends in the phandom and I have now entered our mid/late 20's and early 30's, and are now entering serious, long term relationships, the conversation of "do we tell our partners we like Danny Phantom/make content for Danny Phantom?" are turning into rather serious and interesting discussions. And from talking to people, it's interesting to see the mix of responses.
Some people I've talked to, especially people who date other creatives, have seemingly no problem opening up about their DP hobby with their partner. Others, myself included, are much more protective of their hobby.
But one trend I've found really interesting, and again this is ENTIRELY anecdotal, is that of the people I've talked to, it seems to be that the writers of the phandom, especially those who have written angst/dissection fics, are especially hesitant to tell their partners that they 1. like Danny Phantom and are into phandom stuff, and 2. that they write fanfiction. On the other hand—again, this is anecdotal—the artists of the phandom that I've spoken to tend to lean more on the side of "yeah my partner knows I draw DP fan art idgaf."
THIS IS JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION, but as a writer who is in a serious adult relationship who also has written some horrific angst and is dating a Straight Dude™️ who when I jokingly said "there was only one bed" looked at me like I had grown two heads, I think that the hesitancy comes from really a place of fear that if your partner ever found your fanfiction, they would think you are deeply mentally disturbed and need therapy.
Because, especially for those who do not write or read, a lot of people don't really associate grimdark or angst or whump or whatever the fuck terminology it is, with purely creative entertainment. They can watch a show like Game of Thrones and see people get tortured, raped, and gutted on screen and not think the writers or directors of that show are weird because it's a TV show, it's just entertainment for the public. But when someone does the same thing but posts it online for free under fanfiction—aka is not making money off of it and is showcasing their personal hobby—then people tend to worry about that writer's mental health because why else would they want to write this dark shit if they weren't mentally ill? It couldn't POSSIBLY be for the same reason I like watching GOT, there MUST be something wrong with them.
So when a dp writer has to explain why they personally enjoy Danny Phantom, it can be really hard to admit because those fears sort of swirl around your brain. Whereas for visual media, admitting you like drawing glowy ghost art for an old cartoon appears to be a bit easier.
Again, this is just my personal anecdotal observation there will always be exceptions to this I am NOT speaking on behalf of everyone thank you 🙏
Also I'm really curious from both writers and artists in the phandom to hear your experiences with this and whether or not you've told partners that you do fan art/write fanfiction for DP.

Generational Debt and Expectations
I am furious that older generations got the economy and the environment to this horrible state
And then expect younger generations to fix everything in passing conversation
But do not give us the ability or resources to fix what they broke
Like there is still lead in our water and food
There are forever chemicals in all bodies of water on earth and even in clouds
There are microplastics in everything
The environment is in crisis already and only going to get worse
And all economic data is so cooked that we can’t even acknowledge how fucked the economy is
Younger generations can’t even get educated without falling into massive debt
All of our housing options are out of reach for the majority
Jobs pay a pittance to never allow breathing room
All political leaders are either geriatric or callous and often both
Bribery is legal in the US and it’s not even talked about like it’s a problem that our system is completely corrupt
We don’t have a justice system, we have a legal system that is leveraged to control and oppress normal people by the wealthy
How do our parents expect us to fix and continue the current system when it has completely failed us?

Cassette tapes in my old Walkman
They smell like 15 and lonely
Cucumber melon body lotion
And your cheap cologne
I fell in love every summer
And lost faith in the fall
When you forgot my number
We were just kids, after all
And I've forgotten my old
Hotmail account password
But I still remember the taste
Of our first stolen kiss

Smut fic in the early 2000 : "You belong to me, little one".
Smut fic in the 2020s : "Can I touch you there?" and "Is this still okay?"
We've come a long way. Young women of today actually make consent and check-ins part of their fantasies, part of their perfect man's ethic in bed.
I didn't even know what consent was back then and I suspect many others like me just went along with whatever a man did to them in bed unless it was something that was an absolute no-no.

Some posts on this website claim to be from people who are such intelectuals because they have a life philosophy or because they have found themselves, and that teenagers these days are lost because they have no sense of self. Maybe because being a teen is also about figuring out who you are?
Some people still in early adulthood (not just here, but in real life too) keep going after kids for acting in ways that are, in essence, clearly normal teenager behavior. You see, if teenagers never experiment with their very own "silly little things", how come they will find themselves? It seems the identity struggle they went through in their teen years, which were not that long ago, was completely forgotten.
People claiming they have found their own lifestyle, how they have their own individuality so they don't need to do whatever teenagers are doing these days forget that they were also teenagers once, just as lost, just as awkward and experimenting with style, trying to figure out who they are, what media they want to consume, what they like to study, what kind of job they want... and then some adult was being just as cynical towards them.
But eventually, they figured it out, and they have only found themselves now because they went through that experimentation phase. Instead of being comprehensive towards younger generations now they're grown up, they became just like that annoying adult who criticized them when they were a teen. Like being a kid isn't already hard enough.
Point being: how can anyone become anything if they don't experiment? How can anyone know who they are if they don't go through phases? If they don't try to figure what they enjoy and what they don't? And why engaging in small joys like the media teenagers consume these days should mean someone is superficial, dumb or vain? Maybe if you had small joys, you wouldn't come after teenagers with the same "argh, kids these days!" crap when you're an adult. That is just creepy, cynical, pseudo-intelectual behavior.
You act like growing up isn't a process. Like it isn't about learning from mistakes. Or that figuring yourself out is a continuous thing one should go through.
Anyone can pretend they were born with the personality of a fully grown adult, that they never went through phases or ever felt lost, but deep down, every one as a teen is just as awkwardly trying to figure themselves out as the so called "kids these days".

I'm so fucking proud of millennials.
The you who has or who is learning to create boundaries in sustainable and healthy ways. The you who is healing imperfectly but also in perfectly non-linear ways. The you who is unpacking and understanding the traumas we have as a result of being raised by a generation of Boomers and Boomer/Gen X cusps. The you who like many of us is on a journey with never-ending paths -I see you and I hear you and I'm so proud of all of you.
I feel like we don't get enough credit for being the first to confront, acknowledge, and transform our relationship dynamics with our families, platonic connections/friendships, and romantic partners in so many ways, and I know this is FAR more complex and nuanced of an issue, but I'm so fucking proud of us for all we've done. Because it's just a lot -far too much.
I see millennials, taking the time to understand ourselves and the world around us and it's just something I'm always in awe of because of what so many of us have had to navigate so much. Keep going, because if someone hasn't told you this in a while -you're doing well. Keep going.

Umber Embers Vol.2, 9.9.23 “All Of Us"
There was a time, where a promise had meaning Where the future was teeming With opportunity There was a morning, bright and shining to see For world, and me To be something more There was a plan, a process, a chore Set to be placed, in a business core Study, work hard, keep your head down Make it four years without slightest frown Then there’s a place for you in our town There was a time, with promise When did times, turn amiss Gone is the time where a wish Could be found Where did that go? Left in the future with nothing to show I was robbed without the dignity Of it being done to my face

A protest against Wattpad's new Content Guidelines
Recently, Wattpad has changed the Content Guidelines on sexual content, declaring that the age of consent is now 18. "Any sexual content between characters must abide by this age of consent and not be in violation of Canadian Law."
This is embarrassing for Wattpad. This is disrespectful to Wattpad users. This is a capitalist company conforming to conservative politics.
Wattpad is and has always been home to teenage writers. When I first learned of Wattpad at age 13, this orange app was everything to me. Wattpad is home to teenage writers and readers all around the world, with its many languages Wattpad is unique, and that is something to be proud of. Wattpad has given a creative voice to a generation and inspired young people to write and with multi media challenge our perceptions of the written word and literature. That is not nothing.
But the thing is, teenagers write stories about teenagers. Teenagers write sexual content that includes teenagers. Teenagers have sex in real life with other teenagers. To declare any of that illegal only has negative consequences.
Wattpad declares they want to create a safe space. They want to protect the community. If they really wanted to do that, then they wouldn't have these restrictions on WRITTEN, FICTIONAL sexual content.
Things that would make this a safer space and create and protect our community of global writers: - quality sex education - quality sex education in all languages used on Wattpad
NOW we are in a situation where WRITTEN FICTIONAL depiction of sex between fictional characters under 18 is not allowed. "Illegal sex acts" aren't allowed either. Should we thank Wattpad for clarifying that they mean "according to Canadian law"? Or should we wait with the thanking until they change it to local laws, or LGBT+ stories will be illegal as well?

teenagers are always fun and wear fashionable clothes you guys just hate to see the younger generation having fun without you
#writing this to remind me to not hate younger people or younger generation#especially when i get older a few years from now#kinda an out of nowhere rant but i been seeing alots of street interview about fashion with teen or young adults#and it pissed me off so bad seeing all the adults and elder millenials in the comment saying that this generation got trashy taste#trashy taste stealing style from other decade and also they love to be so defensive when someone mentioned that they hate skinny jean#personally i hate skinny jean too as a plus size girlie so its so pleasing seeing many people nowadays kinda go against it now#god please forbid that shit#anyways back to the main thing im saying here is that#fashion is a circle it came back and forth for many years so i dont see any point in the discussion about “gen z fashion is unoriginal”#as in the 70s there was a medival dresses revival trend#and in the 80s mod and 50s house wives dresses made a comeback#fast forward into the early 2010s we saw the hippie style suddenly became fashionable again#(though it was far from the “original hippies” from the 60s)#and now in the 20s y2k became trendy#so i just see no point in being noisy about nowadays fashion being so random#at the end of the day what everyone should do is that we should let whatever people want to wear instead of pointlessly critisizing them#people have different taste in fashion its not so hard to learn abt that espesially for older figures#rant ended please dont read these they are kinda pointless and incoherent since i have been wanting to rant abt fashion for a while#anyways peace#rant

I have this Cookie Run AU I really want to write about, but something doesn't feel interesting enough for me.
Pure Vanilla, White Lily, Sugar Swan, and Millennial Tree are all researching how to make a perfect cookie.
Despite the struggle PV, WL, and SS are going through Millennial Tree keeps the true recipe secret.
Millennial Tree is immortal and knows all the secrets of life because he's well, Millennial Tree. He keeps this hidden from the 3.
The knowledge and immortality came from somewhere other than Earthbread though.
He used to be a "witch" (more of a normal human) who baked and ate cookies.
Soon he became fond of them though, siding with them to the point the other witches became angry.
And so they turned him into a cookie. If he cared for them more than a human, why not become one?
His golden bands were cursed. They prevented him from ever growing larger so he couldn't become human again.
Fast forward and shit to the night where the Witches met.
Millennial Tree was still in the end a Witch, so it was mandatory for him to participate.
But unbeknownst to him White Lily followed.
After listening into their conversation the truth becomes prominent, Millennial Tree is one of them.
One who eats Cookies, cookies.
The normal cutscene plays and she falls into the purple thing becoming Dark Enchantress.
I think it ties well with her hate for both Pure Vanilla and Millennial Tree.
It also gives way for her to corrupt Sugar Swan.
Should I try writing about it?? I'd much rather do Fire Spirit x Wind Archer though, I love them sm.
Maybe I'll post my AU of them.
