in honour of shoji’s face reveal/backstory, what about him showing his s/o before he shows the class?

(i know you have headcanons on this already, just glad you’re back ❤️)

ty, im glad to be back too! honestly i wanted to redo that one anyway, or you can think of this as an add on to that!

Shoji’s lack of response seemed to make the world freeze. Or maybe everything is going faster? Spinning. You’re mind is spiralling, that’s what this feeling is.

As soon as the request was spoken into existence, you regretted it. Never had Shoji made you uncomfortable, he loved that about you, you were never so much as apprehensive around him. But now, you fidget and tense at his (intense) gaze. Shoji’s eyes flicked over to the window looking over the dorm’s courtyard, but not looking at anything in particular. Just a minute ago you wanted to run away and die in a corner, and now you just want him to look at you.

“I.. I didn’t mean—“

“It’s okay,” Shoji finally emerged from his trance, though only for a second. “It’s just…”

You held your breath, waiting for something, anything to ease your racing thoughts that tried to think of how to go back in time and tell yourself to shut the fuck up.

“I’m not from the cities. I know how my appearance makes people feel, my hometown made sure of that,” he says softly, almost inaudible, still not looking at you. “I don’t want… I don’t want you to—“

“I’m not scared of you,” you didn’t mean to say that. You tried to think of something else to say, anything to make him believe you. But all you could muster was a hand on his thigh.

Shoji turned his head to look at your hand, and with a deep breath he continued, “I know. I’m just…”

He finally looks at you again, “I’m not exactly nice to look at. I thought I’d always be— I don’t know, I didn’t think anyone would want—“ he gestures to his face. “… this.”

Without thinking, you swung your legs over to sit on his lap. Shoji chokes out something akin to a gasp, but does not object when your arms move to embrace him. Shoji’s hands almost seem to shake as he slowly lifts his arms to return the gesture.

It was short lived, however, when Shoji pulled away, and after a moment of thought, reached to his mask. Your hands follow his to grasp the hem of his mask and pull it over his head. For a moment you still can’t see as his hair hangs over his face. When you brushed the hair away, Shoji didn’t know what he expected from you. He searched your face for any suggestion of uncertainty or regret, but all he found was your beautiful smile.

Summary: How would the MHA boys take care of and look after an s/o who’s so sick that they can barely do anything without help?

♡ Mezo Shoji ♡

- I’m pretty sure that you wouldn’t even have to tell this man that you’re sick honestly, he seems like the type that would want to check up on you fairly frequently so when he calls you and hears the tone of your voice he’s immediately like “You’re sick. Relax and get comfortable, I’m coming over to take care of you” and heads straight to your dorm

- And take care of you he does, this boy refuses to let you lift a finger while he’s around and will do absolutely anything you ask of him (and even things you don’t, because he can tell what you need even when you don’t want to tell him because you don’t want him to work himself too hard)

- And no matter how much you insist that you’re fine and that he doesn’t need to do so much for you, he won’t listen and will insist that it’s no trouble for him to take care of his partner while they’re sick, and that he knows you’d do the same for him

- Of course, he’ll never do anything you don’t want him to. If you’re too nauseous to eat he won’t make food, and if you just want to sleep and be alone for a while, then he’ll wait in the common room and let you have your peace and quiet to rest

- But he won’t let you shoo him off just because you’re afraid of burdening him, he insists he’s happy to help you with whatever you may need no matter what it may be

- Need to eat something? He’ll prepare any meal from scratch that you want, making sure it’ll be easy on your stomach. Throwing up? He’ll hold your hair for you if it’s long enough to get in the way, and he’ll rub your back and help you through it as best as he can. Out of pain meds? He’ll head out to the store no matter how late it is

- His dupli-arms actually make it quite easy for him to take care of you, as they allow him to get multiple tasks done at once (brewing a nice cup of tea for your throat while also cooking you a meal, for example) and he’s never far from you for more than a few minutes at a time while you're sick

- His quirk also makes him really good at massages, so if your body is sore from the sickness he will happily massage you wherever you need, for as long as you need until you feel better

- He also does not care at all about getting sick, you’re more important to him and he will happily catch your illness if it means taking care of you and cuddling you until you fall into a restless sleep

- This boy is so good with his words when it comes to you, so even if you come to him crying and miserable because you just feel so ill and can’t do anything without feeling horrible, he knows exactly what to say to soothe your cries as he holds you while still validating your feelings

- Overall Shoji is a very patient, doting lover when you’re sick, and he’s exactly the kind of boyfriend you’d want by your side through your illness as he’d comfort you and get you feeling better in no time <3

♡ Eijiro Kirishima ♡

- Kiri is the type of boyfriend to get so sad when you tell him how unwell you’re feeling :(

- It breaks his heart to see you in that much pain, and even if you try and sugarcoat things and make it seem like you’re not that sick, he’ll see straight through you and insist that he’d be by your side even if it were nothing more than a small cold

- He’s quick to cancel all his plans for the next few days, insistent on being at your beck and call while you’re suffering like this. Even if all you want is some time to relax and rest by yourself for a while, he wants to make sure he’s free and with your notifications turned up on his phone just in case some kind of emergency happens or you need him for any reason

- Now, Kirishima’s actually been working on improving his cooking skills lately by convincing Bakugo to give him some pointers and watching his angry friend when he does cook, so he’s able to make you the perfect food to ease your stomach!

- Homemade soup has actually become one of his specialties, so he’s more than happy to make you some delicious food to help keep you as healthy as possible during this time <3

- He’s also big on giving you massages whenever you mention how sore your body feels. He’s gentle and puts pressure on all the right places to help ease your pain, and he’s more than willing to give them as often as you want! He even suggests it if he can tell you’re hurting but you don’t want to say anything

Kiri's always found hydration very important due to his rigorous workout routine, so while you're sick he makes sure you're drinking enough water to keep your body hydrated. You're already suffering enough as is, don't need to add dehydration into the mix (especially if you're having trouble keeping food down)

- He’s another one who doesn’t shy away from cuddles and even kisses in the slightest, he doesn’t care about the risk of catching your sickness

- He’s lucky enough to have a really good immune system and rarely ever gets sick, but even without that he just can’t resist the urge to hold and kiss you whenever you hold your arms out for him <3 He loves you so much, he will literally never say no to physical affection of any kind with you

- If you start overthinking or telling him how you feel bad relying on him so much for help, he immediately shuts you down with a sweet kiss and some enthusiastic words of support and encouragement

- “Babe, don’t be silly! There’s nothing wrong with asking for help when you need it, it takes a brave person to get through feeling this terrible! You’re doing awesome and I love taking care of you like this, it’s literally my job as your boyfriend to look after you in times like this! So don’t let your mind tell you anything different, I love you and I wanna help!”

- He’s just the absolute sweetest and is willing to be whatever you need during your sickness, and all he asks in return is more kisses and cuddles when you’re up to it and feeling better :>

♡ Tamaki Amajiki ♡

- I hate to say it, but Tamaki would 100% be the overthinking, hovering boyfriend if he found out you were even just coming down with a small cold, so he is incredibly stressed when he finds out just how sick you are this time around

- He immediately begins to hover over your every move, constantly asking how you’re doing, if you need anything, if you’ve eaten or drank enough water, if you’re going to die-

- Safe to say his stress and anxiety have a tendency to get the better of him in these situations, and he admittedly can be a bit overwhelming when you first come down with such a miserable sickness when he realizes just how debilitated you are

- Inevitably, though, you reach a breaking point and ask him as calmly as you can in your unwell state to ease up on all the questions and constant fretting, as your mind simply doesn’t have the energy in your current state and his panic is only serving to make you stressed on top of everything else

- He really is a good boyfriend, though, so he’s quick to do as you ask and eases up a lot on the questioning and constantly hovering over everything you do, even if he is still worried about your health

- Once he’s stopped spiraling, he will notice without you needing to verbally tell him when you want some time to yourself to just rest vs. when you need to be held and taken care of, he’s incredibly perceptive due to his heightened anxiety so it’s easy to adapt to your ever-changing needs

- He is still prone to comforting you with cuddles if you’re open to it, though. Of course he’ll give you space without question if you ask, but in holding you, he can feel you - can feel that you’re still doing okay - and that comforts him as he comforts you

- And whenever you want him near you, he’ll wrap his arms around you and rub your back soothingly as he tells you how sorry he is that you’re in so much pain and how he wishes he could take it all on for you

- And if you’re feeling insecure or like a “burden” of any kind he’ll reassure you that he’s more than happy to take care of you, and that you deserve help and care when you’re feeling so ill. You don’t have to be strong in times like this

- Tamaki has a huge collection of tea since it helps with his anxiety quite a bit, he has every flavor imaginable and plenty of choices including decaf. So when you’re sick you will have your pick of the crop as he’s more than happy to share whatever you need. Rest assured, your throat will be soothed with warm herbal tea as long as your boyfriend’s around lol

- And even though social situations usually make him anxious, he’ll do anything you need while you’re sick. He knows it makes you feel nauseous to even stand up, so he’s more than willing to go out and order food for you or whatever you need even if the thought makes him internally want to shrivel up and crumble, because he loves you more than he fears others <3

- Tamaki may be a bit overwhelming at first when you get sick, but once he gets past that hurdle he will go above and beyond to get you well as soon as possible, he values you more than anything else and just wants to get rid of your pain as soon as possible :]

Mezo had never known love. He had always been treated differently, ridiculed, and even made a child cry. Simply because he didn't look like everyone else did. His quirk made him look different. He hid his face. He wasn't going to hurt anyone else. He didn't want to hurt anyone else. He wanted to be loved and to be accepted. It didn't matter how close he was to someone. He wasn't going to let them see his face. He didn't want them to feel the pain of seeing him. He didn't want to hurt anyone again.

When you came into his life, he was hesitant. Sure, you liked him, but it was nothing more than a friendship. He was wrong, but he wouldn't be the one to make the first move. How could someone love someone like him?

“Mezo, do you want to go on a date with me?”

“A date?” He asked, stammering over his words as he spoke. Surely, it was a misunderstanding. There was no way that you would go on a date with him. Maybe you were going on a date and needed protection. That had to be it.

"Yes, a date, you and me.”

It wasn't a misunderstanding. Your intentions were clear. Maybe it was some sort of sick joke.

“You don't have to go if you don't want to.” You said, trying to reassure him, that it was optional.

“No, I want to... I just don't understand why me.” He asked, looking at you, hoping for some sort of explanation.

“I like you, I… just...” you said, taking the time to think about your words. “I like you; I just thought maybe I should try to ask you out. I wasn't sure if you would be interested or not… I always wanted to be more than friends.”

You couldn't see his face, but he was blushing under his mask.

“Really?”

“Yes.”

“I've never had anyone like me before…” He said, his voice trailing off as he looked away.

“You don't have to show me your face if you don't want to. It's okay. I understand.”

“Thank you.”

You both went on your date, taking the time to get to know one another better. He was still slightly apprehensive. You were both friends, and he trusted you, but nobody asked him out. No one wanted to date him. Still, you continued to go on dates with him. He never voiced his concerns because maybe it was an actual date. Surely, if it were a joke, it wouldn't continue on for as long as it has. It had been months, and you still showed love and support for him. You never once asked to see his face. After months, you were both alone. He finally pulled down his mask to show you. He wouldn't be surprised by your reaction either way.

His face was longer than most. He had no noticeable nose. He had scarring on his face. You looked at him and smiled. He blinked.

“You look beautiful.”

He blushed at your comments.

“Really?”

“Yes.”

He was surprised that you weren't bothered by his face. In fact, you found it beautiful. No one would ever label him beautiful.

tokoyami and shoji both had clear similarities, like their mutant quirks or their desire to become a hero, but when it comes to showing their affection, they're quite different

shoji and tokoyami both care a lot about you, but shoji struggles to be affectionate towards you, at the start of your relationship

he struggles to fully open up to you, despite how close the two of you are. he's worried that you wouldn't like him if you got to see all of him. the biggest example being his face…

affection comes much more naturally to tokoyami however! he's the type to write you poems, buy you flowers and hold your hand when you're walking to class together

there isn't a lot of jealousy between the three of you, but shoji envies tokoyami for how easy affection seems to come to him

as much as you try to assure shoji that you love him no matter what, it's tokoyami who manages to get shoji to open up and confess why he struggles so much

after that point, shoji manages to open up more. he occasionally holds your hand in public and when it's just the three of you, he'll even take off his mask…

while shoji and tokoyami aren't dating each other, they are very close friends and only want the best for each other!

EMERGENCY REQUEST

So I love your stuff and ofc take your time. Im really sorry to inconvenience you with this request but I'm just very stressed.

I recently moved into a new house with my family and we have been slowly moving things in for months. Apparently the landlord left the door unlocked after he came in to make some final repairs and someone broke in and stole some stuff. Nothing huge, some tools, a toaster oven, drill bits. We didn't think they stole anything else and my family didn't see a reason to make a report till I started looking for one of my boxes I moved previously and it was gone. It had all my cross country stuff in it and I know it's not important to anyone else but CC is my LIFE. I've been running for almost 5 years So all my medals, plaques, times, banners, numbers, memorabilia from courses are gone. And I don't know what anyone would want with any of it. None of it was worth any kind of money but all of it means so much to me emotionally. I SUCKED my first year and it took so much effort to EARN everything. I'm scared they are gonna start melting down my metals or try to pawn them. I know it sounds vain and maybe it is but I was so proud of everything I've accomplished in cross country. I had a mental break down for about 30 mins to an hour and idk what to do. CC helped motivate me to recover from my Annorexia and one of those metals I won right after I got out of the hospital. Im 4'10 (I am a senior in highschool) Im already at a disadvantage considering my legs are half the size of everyone else's. I had to work so hard to be where I am now and all my reward for my work it's just gone because someone was bored? Wanted to make some extra cash?

Do you think If/when you have time you could write MHA comforting someone who's going through this? Maybe Shoji or Amajiki? Or whoever you want and think would fit. Im sorry again I know it's vain to want all of it back but it just meant so much to me.

Amajiki silently sits with you, understanding that words may not be enough to express the depth of your pain.

He softly says, "Your achievements are not just medals. They're a reflection of your strength and resilience. No one can take that away."

Amajiki's gentle demeanor encourages the distressed friend to open up slowly, sharing the pain and memories associated with the lost stuff.

Amajiki softly suggests involving the authorities, realizing the emotional value of the stolen items. "I think it's important to let the authorities know. They might be able to help recover your belongings, and it's okay to ask for help."

Amajiki spends quiet moments with the distressed friend, acknowledging that sometimes, silent companionship speaks louder than words.

Dating Mezo Shoji [MHA] Headcannons

Originally I was gonna post these with some HCs for other characters (Shinsou, Todoroki, etc) but the rest of them got lost or deleted so now I’ve gotta rewrite them 🥲

Anyways, I hope you enjoy these and have a wonderful day/night

- Canonically, Shoji wears the mask because he was born with a very wide mouth, and he got very insecure about it because a kid actually started crying when they saw him, so to put the public at ease he started to wear the mask. He admitted this to you about 2 months into your relationship.

- He even showed you, albeit hesitant, he took off the mask and revealed his full face to you. He was really worried you would also see it as weird, but instead you simply kissed him. You kissed the center of his mouth, then the right side, then the left, and then one last kiss on the nose.

- that, my dear readers, is when he fell in love with you.

- even when he is wearing the mask, you will still kiss him either through the mask, or even sometimes on his extra mouth (the one he normally talks out of, his extra limb? Y'all know what I mean-)

- One of your favorite things about cuddling him, is that he can just wrap you up in all his arms and you'll be in like this little shell, protected from the rest of the world.

- he will jokingly take something from you, or grab something from you, (ex: a book, phone, ruler, whatever) and using his quirk he'll lift it so far above both your heads that it probably makes it to the ceiling.

- with the combination of the length of multiple arms, and his height (6'1) there's no way in hell anyone is getting whatever it is he grabbed from you unless quirks become involved.

- He loves watching how you whine, and just desperately try to grab it. You'll even threaten to climb him like a fucking tree, which just makes him laugh.

• Ojiro likes yarn-made friendship bracelets and makes them for himself all the time. When Denki found out about this he tried to make Ojiro one but it just turned out as a few pieces of yarn covered in knots. Of course, Ojiro cherishes the bracelet forever (and he makes Denki one in return that has yellow flower patterns on it)

• Deku knows a lot about trains and reads articles about them all the time. He wants to create an app where he can track different trains as they travel across the country.

• Mina loves cake pops. She spends a good amount of her paycheck buying them from Starbucks.

• Shoji used to be afraid of the water because he was genuinely convinced he would never be able to swim due to his arms. He didn’t learn to swim until he was a teenager and it was only because a small child was drowning at the pool and he had to jump in and swim to go save the kid.

• Momo has a hard time with body positivity and tries to complement herself in the mirror every morning. It’s never easy for her to do.

• Aizawa brings kittens to school with him. Nezu has given up on trying to stop him.

• Aoyama’s favourite song is “Noel’s Lament” from the musical “Ride The Cyclone”

• Bakugo is secretly a musical theater kid. (Author Note: I will die on this hill.) When Aoyama, whose also a musical theater kid, finds out about this he confronts Bakugou. After several arguments and a few weeks Bakugo comes clean about his love for musicals. The two perform Dear Evan Hansen in their rooms together on the weekend.

• Shoto likes Adventure Time. He refuses to watch anything that isn’t either PG or on Cartoon Network.

• Tsuyu is incredible at Dance Dance Revolution and Mario Kart. Her and Kirishima have video game competitions all the time, which Tsuyu always wins. The only one who has come close to beating her is Deku while playing Pac-Man.

• Aizawa has a cat named Push-pop. (I know there are a lot of Aizawa headcannons but DEAL WITH IT)

• Eri likes listening to Katy Perry. Shinsou introduces her to Lady Gaga. Chaos ensues.

• All Might drinks tea, never coffee.

• Hawks makes nests out of his clothes to sleep in. One day Hawks mentors Tokoyami and their junior mission ends up becoming a several day mission. Hawks obviously keeps watch while Tokoyami sleeps. He notices the boy making a little nest out of the two different jackets he was wearing. Tokoyami looks up to see Hawks watching him and feels severely embarrassed, trying to hide the makeshift nest and come up with an explanation. Hawks comforts him and let’s him know that it’s ok and that he does the same thing. It’s just a part of their quirks and who they are, there isn’t anything to be ashamed of. (Wholesome moments? Yes, they are possible.)

honestly, how could one even believe what was going on here? you could hear the sounds of shouting and people moving quickly through the home. you could hear from outside the padlocked door the sounds of screaming and threats.

you could hear izuku saying the worst things you could ever imagine him saying. it was clear he was being overpowered, probably from sheer manpower- maybe there were too many people inside. you felt waves of confused but some kind of new excitement flutter through you when a familiar voice sank into your ears from just outside the door.

"i want you to search every nook and cranny, don't leave a single corner unturned until we ind her!"

it was an order, and a seal of your safety.

you tried to stand from your spot, trying to scream but your vocal cords were weak. he was just outside- right there. he was so close. you felt your weak body yearn for him as your vocal cords failed you, your voice coming out in splotchy pieces of dialogue, your body tired and sore from izuku's previous havings with you.

you began to panic, feeling helpless you could've sworn the noise died down. were they leaving, were they giving up? you began to become frantic, struggling against the chains as tears formed on the rims of your eyes, slipping down your cheeks and dotting the floor beneath you.

"please" rang through your mind- he was so close

everything soon went silent. you felt alone again. your body slumped against the flooring of the room as you softly shook, silent sobs leaving you before a loud sound went off directly in front of you.

it prompted you to sit up, raising your head before you could see a figure in the smoky mess in front of you.

the door had been blown open and in its wake there he stood.

shoji hurried over to you, wasting no time as he smashed the chains under his heavy boot, pulling you close to him as he cradled you in his arms. you looked up at him, watching his eyes water slightly over his mask. "I finally found you," he said softly, pressing his forehead to yours as you did the same. your body felt warm for the first time in a long time, a serene peace filling you as he held you close.

and he'd never let you go again.

[ I've never written Mezo Shoji actually, at least not from what I can recall. But anything is worth a try. ]

The first time he used his quirk on you was when you interrupted a conversation he was having with Ashido. You hated seeing how she made your boyfriend smile and laugh and had to put an end to it. But grabbing Hanta's arm while hissing out multiple threats wasn't the best idea and resulted in him taping your mouth shut.

He let most incidents slide thinking that jealousy was normal in a relationship, but noticing how clingy and worried you'd become when he wasn't around or talking to others concerned him. After a little investigating, he found out about your past relationship and how poorly you were treated.

"I promise, we can kiss and cuddle all you want later but...principal Nezu is coming!" you knew there were certain rules regarding relationships and dating at Yuuei, but this never stopped you from trying to show how you felt during school hours. Hanta on the other hand didn't want to get in trouble.

When you weren't in school, you were always by Hanta's side and on the rare chance you weren't you were texting him constantly. Many of your classmates and friends had tried to distract you or outright told you that you shouldn't be so clingy. But, you brushed their words off. After all, what did they know?

From time to time, you'd let your paranoid thoughts get the best of you and would ask or rather accuse Hanta of cheating on you. He noticed this usually happened when he was too busy to spend time with you. "Why would I do that? What we have is pretty great, don't you think babe?" he'd always try to reassure you somehow, but it didn't always work.

After you had gotten into a fight with someone else who was spending more time than you would have liked with your boyfriend, Hanta revealed that he knew you were cheated on in the past. "I know it's going to take a while, but we can work on your insecurities together, and just know that as long as I'm a hero, I'll never give up on you or us," he promised.

Mezo always put you first, especially when you began your relationship with him and he learned how poorly your ex had treated you. He thought it unforgivable for anyone to hurt or betray you, and silently promised he'd right the wrongs that had been done to you.

You knew that having a "hero" for a boyfriend would be difficult but you didn't realize how jealous you'd be when you witnessed him saving others and how they'd praise, touch, or flirt with him. But, you also didn't hesitate to walk over and bluntly state that Mezo was yours.

He noticed that at times, you'd go through extreme measures to be by his side. Like when you purposely applied at the same agency as him for your student internship. "You know, I'd be acting the same even if you weren't here," he told you. At the same time, he didn't mind the way you clung to him during patrols.

At times, you'd try to practice self-discipline. Instead of acting on your jealousy and insecurity, you'd hold it in. This usually resulted in you becoming a crying mess and Mezo having to comfort you. "Do you really think anyone else would want to date someone who scares children with his face?" you had to admit, it was nice knowing that you were the rare type that saw past his facial features.

On some days, you felt overly clingy and didn't want to separate yourself from Mezo. He would usually accommodate you by carrying you on his back with his tentacles surrounding you as a precaution. "Your weight feels nice on my back..." he'd comment, but he also found your overall presence to be comforting.

When your one-year anniversary came, Mezo decided to surprise you with a promise ring. "Just in case you need proof that I won't disrespect or cheat on you. That I wouldn't do anything to lose you," he said, slipping the piece of jewelry onto your finger with ease.
