Masumi Usui with an S/O who's a Wheelchair User

A/N: So i recently got my first wheelchair (just a hospital style for rn, but hopefully I’ll get a custom relatively soon) so i wanted to write something for one of my favs with an s/o who is an ambulatory wheelchair user; it ended up being non specific to an ambulatory wheelchair user, and this is pretty niche, but I hope y'all enjoy anyways! *(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭*♡ 

❀ Masumi Usui 

Masumi doesn’t see you any differently than if you weren’t in a wheelchair. He doesn’t see what the big deal is whether or not you’re walking or using your chair- you’re still the same person he fell in love with no matter if you’re standing or seated

Whenever you go anywhere with him, he always lifts your wheelchair into the trunk of the car and takes it back out again. He may not be as strong as Tasuku or Omi, but he’s able to do it without struggling. He gets used to the weight of the chair very quickly!

If your arms ever get tired of pushing your chair, he’ll gladly push the chair for you! He always waits for you to ask though, not wanting to be rude or to push your chair while your hands are still on the push rims. He always presses small kisses to the top of your head when he’s pushing your chair!

He either makes sure to hold all the doors open for you or push all the disability buttons for them. Not because he doesn’t think you’re capable, but he feels it's the gentlemanly thing to do. He’d hold the door open for you even if you weren’t in your chair!

He misses not being able to hold your hand when you’re self-propelling, but he doesn’t complain much about it. He makes up for it by holding your hand when you’re no longer in motion

If you ask him to help you decorate your wheelchair, he’ll happily oblige! He’ll help cut spoke covers to size and place them on your chair, as well as add lights to your wheels. Whatever you decide to do to your chair, he’ll definitely ask if he can help!

If you ever need help fixing something on your chair, he’ll gladly help. He’s not the most knowledgeable when it comes to fixing wheelchairs, as he has no experience, but he’ll listen intently to your instructions and do exactly what is requested of him 

He always checks to make sure that wherever you’re going together is accessible! He wants you to have the best possible time, no matter if it's a date or not, and he knows accessibility factors into your enjoyment.

He always asks to make sure that what he does is okay. He doesn’t want to do anything wrong that you may take the wrong way so he always asks before doing anything. And if he forgets to ask beforehand, he always asks afterwards.

After a long day at work your finally ready for rest you go home to find your power has gone out. That meant your dorm was very very cold with no heat you decide to pull out the good old Christmas quilt that you had gotten as a gift awhile back it was quite large but you were still shivering. Your phone lit up with a text message it was from masumi! It read 'hey can I come over my power went out ps. Im already outside' you let out a small laugh and went to the front door to let him in "it's freezing in here too?" He asked slightly annoyed, You nod "yeah I believe it's out for the whole dorm" you sat back down on the couch he sat beside you "well don't be a blanket hog y/n" with that he grabbed the quilt and sat pressed up against you you had to admit you it was much warmer this way. So you sat snuggled up together chatting about random things you remembered it was almost Christmas any day now! "Sooo what are you hoping to get for Christmas masui?" He thought for a moment with a sly smile he said "well out of anything I guess the thing I want the most is you~"

How they act when you’re overworked, Spring Troupe version!

(oh my goodness I only realised after the fact that I made almost every character bring you food.,.,,. I guess I was hungry while writing lol)

Sakuya: Saku-saku will actually be very concerned if you’re stressed and overworked. Will continually ask how you’re feeling and if you need anything. Will gently pull you aside every so often to take a nap if you’re falling asleep on your textbook. You don't know when it happened, but you realise that at some point he put his sweater on you and it was super cozy and smelled really good.,.,.,an all around sweetie <3

Masumi: ok, one of two options here, he either acts like he doesn’t care but you will find snacks and drinks on your desk while you work (he has thrown them at your head before and Sakuya made him apologize for that ) OR he will be after you 24/7 to make sure you’re taking care of yourself, he will never leave your room until you’re done.

Tsuzuru: horribly hypocritical, you will get a lecture if you stay up late. But, he will supply you with snacks and very basic meals if you have classes and/or work so you don’t crash

Citron: he tends to just sit next to you, lean against you, keep you company. This’ll be one of the few times he isn’t chattering away or singing something to you out of respect for your concentration. If you get cold he will crawl onto you like a lap-dog, it's just so comfy cozy! Drapes his big warm scarves over your shoulders. Sometimes brings you tea, he brews it himself <3

Itaru: hands you an energy drink or black coffee. “awww poor thing. You’ll be fine tho”,.,.,.meanie /lh. If you want company while you work he’ll sit next to you and play his games without the volume on so he won't disturb you too much.

Chikage: will regularly bring meals in for you. Ok, by meals I mean curry but you knew that already. Hands you a plate of spicy tripe curry and tells you that it cures all symptoms of fatigue but it will also tinge your skin blue from the excess of selenium and zinc (false, that will not happen i promise you). You just squinted at him as menacingly as possible while taking the plate. He does cook really well and the spice has the added side effect of making you drink more water, thus making you hydrated! Evil mastermind behavior right here!!

Activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?

Masumi doesn’t have a preference as he just enjoys spending time around you, happy to spend an entire day doing absolutely nothing as long as you’re together. He’ll help you run errands or clean the house, even the worst, most un-enjoyable tasks being tolerable when he’s working alongside you. You like to do a variety of things with him that are fun like going to festivals together, taking walks through the park to get some fresh air, and listening to some of his favorite music as you find it’s the perfect way to get to know him better. 

The two of you often make your way into a music shop that’s in the mall to peruse their wares and see if there’s anything that strikes your fancy, Masumi seeming right at home as he flipped through the progressive rock section. He’ll always insist on taking you on a date somewhere after the shopping is done with and he knows your tastes perfectly, researching places ahead of time to know whether or not you’ll love it. You try to do things you know he likes to do too as he tends to focus on you a little too much sometimes and you want him to have fun, too. 

Beauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

Masumi admires everything about you. What is there not to admire? Your personality is amazing, you’re warm and loving and patient and had he mentioned beautiful? His pupils are practically heart-shaped every time he sees you even when he becomes more secure and less clingy, considering you a wonderful goddess who had come down to earth for him to worship personally. He can list plenty of things about you or things that you do that he finds endearing, he could go on for hours if you let him.

Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

He’s incredibly jealous at the tiniest of things but this stems from the insecurity that you might not value him in the same way he values you; he worries that you could leave him at the drop of a dime if there’s even a minute where he isn’t proving himself to you which is why he acts the way he does. He’s still determined and stubborn even if you tell him to relax, but he doesn’t think anyone else is likely to deserve you or would be as dedicated to you as he would. He calms down as he gets a little older and the longer you’re in a relationship together but his temper can flare up quickly if people touch you or openly flirt with you when he’s within earshot. 

Masumi will threaten the life of anyone flirting with you even if they’re bigger than him with no hesitation at all. He’s very possessive and protective of you and nothing makes his temper flare up quicker than seeing you being hit on when he’s right there. It’s never escalated to actually getting physical due to Masumi’s behavior being extremely off putting to the other party, and he always insists that he’s just looking out for you even when you scold him for his dramatic behavior. Telling him he has nothing to worry about soothes the anger he feels and he’ll return to his quiet, non-irritated self after getting it, able to continue on as if nothing had happened.

The second you had started dating, Masumi knew coming back to the dorms to see you would be the best part of his day. The fact you two went to different high schools tore at him enough as is, so you made sure to go straight over there after class had ended to see your boyfriend every day. Today specifically though, he had gotten held up by one of his teachers for his “less-than-stellar” attitude towards his fellow classmates. He couldn’t help but think that all of them were so irritating… if it isn’t you then why should it matter?

Trudging into the common room of the dorm, he heard your beautiful voice flow through the hallways and towards him. He almost made a beeline for his room before he stopped and paid attention to what exactly you were singing. 

Say, if it became clear to me

I wish nobody cries for me

I wonder if this is the end

Say, it's just, if I disappear

I wonder if tomorrow will be a better one

With your hands, please…

The despair in your voice was too much for him to handle as he booked it towards the sound of you. Nearly ripping the door off of it’s hinges, he flung himself towards you in a hug, shaking and tears welling up in his eyes. You nearly jumped out of your skin with how sudden it all happened, not quite understanding what was wrong with him.

“M-Masumi…? Are you okay?”

His only response was to squeeze you tighter as he ridiculed himself for not noticing your pain earlier. “I’m… sorry. For not knowing you’re hurting.”

You realized the song you were singing is what had brought this on. Obviously such somber lyrics would shake anyone who had never heard it, but for him to have such a strong reaction…

“It’s just a song, Masumi.” He pulled away from the hug and looked at you with such intensity, despite the tears in his eyes, you thought you saw this soul break right then and there. “It isn’t! You sound so sad that,” his voice cracked and you had never felt worse your life, “it has to be because you feel what you’re singing.”

You sat down on his bed with him and held him tight as he shook in your arms. Even with his overly emotional viewpoint (it really was just a song) it further reassured you nobody would ever love you like Masumi does.

tokiya: 

Photoshoot, variety show, writing lyrics, more photoshoots, interview, Cecil doing something idiotic… there really wasn’t enough time in the day. 

Entering through the door to your shared house, Tokiya removed his shoes and called out a quiet “I’m home.” The lack of you sliding across the floor in your socks and smothering him in hugs, asking about his day was out of ordinary to say the least. He wandered around the house for a little bit, checking this room and that room before coming upon his music room, your voice carrying out from the inside. I didn’t even know they sang…, he thought to himself before listening to the lyrics coming from your mouth.

The sound of rain knocks on the window

Despite how somber the lyrics were, he couldn’t help but revel in how beautiful you sounded. Surely, you could overtake him in vocals alone. He opened the door to the room, and you whipped around like a deer in headlights upon realizing there was no way he didn’t hear you singing your heart out. “A-ha.. sorry you had to hear that…” you laughed nervously. 

Tokiya gave you a soft smile and took your hands in his as he sat down next to you, “Please don’t apologize, my dear. Truly, I’ve never heard a voice more melodious than yours.” Oh there’s no way he isn’t lying to me right now. He was an idol for God’s sake, like hell he hadn’t heard a voice better than yours. “Although…” here it comes, you thought. “Can I ask you choose to sing more lighthearted songs? Even if they aren’t your words, hearing such sadness come from you might be slightly more than I can bear.” He said it with such sincerity you felt guilty for assuming he was just trying to boost your ego in the first place. 

You turned away, slightly embarrassed before muttering out, “Sure,” and started to sing one of his songs as he looked on with the most lovestruck gaze you’d ever seen in your life.

tenma:

Kicking open the door to the common room of the dorm hall, Tenma grumbled to himself about Yuki’s horrible personality from earlier. The normal way they usually took home had been blocked off, and Yuki had completely abandoned Tenma and forced him to find his own way back to the Mankai Company. He could barely make his way out of a paper bag for God’s sake, and as a result he arrived back an hour later than normal. 

He flopped onto the couch, hidden from the view of you as you walked into the kitchen to grab a snack, singing. He was about to call out to you before he listened to the lyrics you were currently singing.

Even the sadness of that day, even the pain of that day

Tenma felt his heart sink to his stomach. Surely those were just random song lyrics with no hidden meaning behind them, as the fact that he hadn’t exactly been the best boyfriend to you lingered in the back of his mind. He let out a small, “Hey,” and watched as you shrieked and whipped your bag of chips across the room, clearly startled at his appearance. “Tenma! Yuki told me you were taking a different way home but I didn’t think it’d take you this long.” He ignored the unintentional jab at his navigational skills and motioned for you to come lay with him on the couch. You follow suit, snuggling up next to him and glancing up to meet his eyes. “What’s with you today?”

He offered no response as he wrapped his arms around you and buried himself into your hair. “Tenma…?” Maybe he was looking too much into it, but even something as small as this triggered some sort of emotion within him - a vow he now made to do better, be better. “You know I love you, right?” He was never this upfront with his feelings, but he supposed he could make an exception this time. You smiled and cuddled closer to him, happy for this unusual show of  affection. “Yeah, I love you too.”

Hehe, thank you for requesting @niphredil-14​ ! I’m sorry it took so long, but I hope you enjoy!

Both you and Masumi were looking for a mug to drink from for your freshly steeped tea when it happened. You both reached out at the same time, aiming for the same cup as your hand bumped into his. It was just a normal touch of the hands to you, but when you quickly retracted to grab a different mug, Masumi was staring at you with curiously wide eyes as he held the back of his hand towards his face.

"I-.. You.." Awkwardly, he pointed in between the both of you with a flustered expression and then poked at his hand with a finger, his eyes sparkling with a tender warmth that made you smile without knowing why he was acting this way. His mouth clamped shut after a few seconds of not being able to find the words he wanted to say, and almost shoved the hand you touched right in your face, his palm facing you.

Your gaze flickered from his palm to his bashful pout and smiled even more, your head tilting in a curious motion as you lifted your unoccupied hand to press them together and intertwine your fingers. The simple action caused Masumi's face to redden, and it looked like steam was spilling out of his ears. You only laughed; so carefree.

"This is what you wanted, right?" You prodded at him, squeezing his suddenly sweaty hand in your grip while you set your mug down on the counter to reach for the teapot. You easily pulled Masumi away from the counter so that you would be able to comfortably move around to finally gain your long awaited cup of tea, not minding how stunned the teenager was with how amiable you were being today.

His lips pursed for the briefest moment of time before he showed you a cute, private little pout, and nodded his head to confirm that you were right. Honestly, holding your hand was something he always wanted to do, like, 24/7. He knows he can't have what he wants all the time, but the urge to only have you to himself was strong whenever you did things like this, and he was itching to hold on tight and never let go.

"Is it uncomfortable?" He whispered in a small voice, near your ear as he watched you pour tea into your mug over your shoulder, his body nearly curling around you with his nose close to brushing against your hair. You only hummed at the question, choosing to answer when you weren't distracted with the drink and brushed your thumb along the length of his, forcing a startled harrumph to leave his mouth.

"Just a little sweaty, but it's okay." You told him honestly, to help him ease his nerves, but he quickly pried his hand from you so that he could go to the sink and get rid of his moistened palms, his mouth curling into an agitated frown. He didn't mean to sweat this much, but with how sudden you had held his hand, he wasn't able to prepare himself and he got so nervous that his palms just perspired like condensation on a window.

He cried just a little on the inside, pulling at his hair that he even made you touch his gross skin, and scrubbed harder at his palms (wash your hands kids!) to make sure he got every drop of sweat erased from his skin. He then thoroughly dried his hands with a paper towel, even getting between the crevices of his fingers that always managed to get sticky with sweat when he was around you.

"I'm sorry," he apologised after throwing away the paper towel, and this time initiated the hand holding, his cheeks still a flaming red, "does it feel better now?"

With a swelling heart, you nodded your head and held your mug in your hand while at the same time leading Masumi towards the lounge room where you two would sit on the sofa and he could curl himself against your side as you watched something on the television. His head rested on your shoulder as you calmly sipped at your tea every now and then, both of his hands encasing one of your own as the comfortable silence stretched out between the two of you.

His fingers absentmindedly traced the way your knuckles rose and dipped, and admired the small scars that littered your fingers and hand due to being such a clumsy person. He marvelled at the way your veins were uniquely branched out beneath your skin and how your hand flexed when your fingers moved. There was so much to appreciate about you, and he was only looking at your hand.

He stayed quiet as he traced over a vein that wrapped around your first knuckle, curious  as it disappeared beneath the skin of your finger and escaped his prodding gaze.

You didn't seem to mind his incessant caressing as you only stayed quiet and watched whatever was playing on the tv, his lips moving in awe whenever he turned your hand here and there.

"What's so interesting there, Masumi?" You had asked after a few moments of him not saying anything and just dragging the rough pad of his finger along your skin. He hooked his chin onto your shoulder when you didn't turn your head to look at him, but he stared at you with adoration in his eyes as he stopped and just held your hand in his palms, smiling.

"I just thought your hands were really pretty." He answered with a soft lilt to his voice. You were curious as to what made him think that way as you took a glance at your own hand and noticed the way your skin was littered with dark splotches that belonged to tiny scars and the cuts you continued to find on your body when you had no idea how it got there in the first place.

You pursed your lips, slightly skeptic, but dropped it as you wouldn't put it past Masumi to actually be intrigued by the small flaws decorating your skin.

"Thanks, Kiddo." You sighed, setting down your mug on the coffee table to lift a hand and ruffle your fingers through his two-toned hair, a smile forming on your lips as he stared at you with his tired eyes, his fingers curling tighter around the hand that he held in his lap.

He was so happy that he didn't let go of you for the rest of the day until everyone had to go to bed, and even then he was reluctant to let go of you as you tried to sneak into your room, your door hitting both of your hands as you tried to get him to let go.

A sleepy Sakuya had to drag Masumi to their shared bedroom.

I | inspiration - you’re one of the only people who can tone down masumi’s harsh comments. he’s softened up around people more because he’s so happy to be with you he has extra happiness to spare.

J | jealousy - masu will get very jealous and be sad if he see you might be talking to anyone who might have a romantic interest in you. if someone is hitting on you and he’s around, he’ll make sure that they know that your his. he’ll wrap his arm around your waist, grab your hand, and if the person really doesn’t seem to get the point, he’ll kiss you on the cheek.

K | kiss - masumi is a decent kisser, he has absolutely no experience, but he isn’t bad. he doesn’t kiss too passionately because he gets too flustered. your first kiss with him was very nervous, you would have to kiss him because he’s way to scared to make a move. he’d be too stunned to kiss back and you’d pretty much make his brain shut down temporarily.

L | love confession - he’s very blunt with confessing. he’d do something typical like take you to a park or somewhere stereotypically romantic, like a sakura tree. he’ll straight up tel you he likes you a lot (he probably wanted to say love, but sakuya advised him against it).

 M | marriage - he for sure wants to get married. he’d probably go for a typical proposal. taking you to a fancy restaurant, on a walk through a park, and he’d probably take you to a sakura tree, as cliche as it is. he’d give a very romantic speech about his love for you and say something along the lines of, “from the first day i met you, i knew i wanted to marry you. i never imagined i’d actually have the chance to. so, please, will you marry me?”

N | nicknames - masumi likes to call you babe. other than that, he really doesn’t have much. he likes to be called pretty much anything, sweetie, sweetheart, masu. he’s down for anything.

O | on cloud nine - masumi is very very obvious when he’s in love. he’ll spend hours fondly staring at pictures of you. he’ll just sigh and smile when he sees you. he’s really not good at restraining his feelings, he’ll often whisper “i love you” under his breath when you can’t hear.

P | pda - he doesn’t really like anymore pda than hand holding. he gets very flustered, very easily. though he does like to make sure people know that you’re with him. so if he notices someone checking you out, he’ll wrap his arm around your waist.

Q | quirk - masumi is good at accidentally flirting? he’ll say things that can be flirty or suggestive but he doesn’t intend for them to come out like that but it ends up being super smooth.

R | romance - masumi is very romantic through actions, he’ll do tasks for you even if you didn’t ask. he’s pretty cliche with date ideas and spending time, but he definitely means them with love.

S | support - masumi 100% believes in you and he’ll do anything to help you reach your goals. your goals are essentially his goals.

T | thrill - masumi likes things fairly routine. he likes to have snuggles at minimum once a week and he definitely will want to take you on a date too. he doesn’t care as long as he’s with you.

Who knew that someone forgot to bring an umbrella? Standing in the rain, he saw her in the courtyard standing while doing small gestures.

He walks up to her hurriedly, unbothered by the rain, worried that she might get a cold instead. She looks at him, grabs his hand and spoke cheerily. "Dance with me Masumi!" She smiles unbothered by the rain falling on them. "What if-" He was cut off when she pulled him close to her.

'What if you'll get sick... Sigh. Just this one time.' He thoughts to himself while staring at her.

"No butts. Lets enjoy this~" She looks at him, eyes crinkling. A resigned sigh fall from his lips as he gives in, a smile forming in his lips. Finally giving in, he follows her moves until he's the one leading her, gracefully.

He sighs once again as they dance, wishing that this moment will last forever, wishing that time will stop at this very moment. Movements getting slow, she rests her head in his shoulder, laughing happily. Her gesture made him freeze, as if time paused itself.

He puts his an arm around her shoulder before she looks at him, eyes crinkling with joy. Heat rushing up to his cheeks, he looks above, letting the rain patters in his cheeks. But before he knew, she already pulled him to go back inside the dorm. No words needed.

He lets her pull him inside, already happy enough to enjoy that short sweet moment with her. He is happy, it's already enough.

But little did they know, others already witnessed that short sweet moment... Sighing as they watch them dance through the rain gracefully.

Tsuzuru sometimes turns on a recording app on his phone and just talks out loud to get examples of natural sounding dialogue and nice lines. -For a long time, he’s extremely tsundere about it. Lots of snapping at you not to be so touchy with him, not to mess up his outfit, and especially not to do that kind of thing in public! However, he warms up to the affection a lot faster than he wants to admit, and before long, his complaints don’t have much weight behind them. He’ll get to the point where he lets you do what you want with no resistance other than a deep, flustered blush on his face. 

Masumi:

-Congratulations, you’re never getting rid of him. Being affectionate with Masumi just makes him more and more clingy, desperate to take even more of your love. You’re his favorite thing in the world, so of course, your affection makes him happier than anything. Expect an overwhelmed flush every time you start getting cuddly, complete with lovestruck eyes and a dizzy smile. He’ll be just as affectionate back when he’s sure that you won’t get mad.

Banri:

-At first, he’s kind of neutral on it. It feels sort of weird for you to be all over him like that, but he’s not exactly complaining. He’ll return the affection in small ways for a while, but as time goes by and he starts getting used to your behavior, he starts getting into it too. He’ll get more and more affectionate and soft with you in return as he softens up and getts attached, especially because that kind of thing never fails in making you smile. 

Taichi:

-He loves it. Please, be as affectionate with him as you want. He’ll soak up every bit of it like, yes, an eager puppy. Having a partner who’s so soft with him is like a dream come true! He’ll try to mimic your affectionate behavior, too, and try to return it to you twofold. Since you obviously like that kind of thing, doing it for you will make you happy too, right? It’s a vicious cycle of the two of you being cuddly and fluffy and sickeningly sweet with each other. 

Sakyo:

-For a good while... he’s not exactly a fan. Being clung to the way you do is sort of uncomfortable for him, and it takes him quite a while to get used to it. He’s not used to people treating him like you do. It’ll be a visible process of him adjusting. For example; he’ll no longer stiffen up when you hug him. A while later, he’ll hesitantly put a hand on your back. And finally, when he’s truly given up on his pride in this regard, he’ll hug you back with a sigh.
