TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS???

Doc.Heath here! Your friendly neighborhood NeuroMechanic!

Let's make a commitment to begin seeing other humans as humans instead of labels, diagnostic or otherwise. There are no schizophrenics, bipolars, narcissists, borderlines, users, manipulators, gas-lighters, toxic people, addicts, tube-feeders, cancer-women or cancer-men.

There are people; HUMANS.

When we LABEL people, we de-humanize THEM and dishonor our own humanity, character, and integrity. Labeling programs your brain to begin seeing the LABELED person as LESS THAN human & lights up the alarm & disgust centers of your brain. Confirmation bias takes over and you begin getting exactly what you're looking for and, PRESTO, self-fulfilling prophecy.

How about rethinking "MANIPULATION" and seeing a PERSON; one trying to get what they THINK they need? Don't you try to get what you need? Maybe the other person is doing this in an unhealthy, socially unacceptable way. Healthy Strategy: Set a boundary & consequence instead of LABELING and THINKING of the person as SUB-HUMAN & DISPOSABLE.

People engage in such socially unacceptable behaviors for all kinds of reasons but mainly because of their own Inaccurate, Unrealistic Thoughts (IUTy's).

Be part of the solution. Realize no one has a remote control to YOUR brain controlling the contents inside the vault of YOUR skull.

Take back your power by focusing on YOUR OWN Accurate, Realistic Thoughts (ARTy’s), setting healthy boundaries, enforcing realistic consequences.

Questions with a Hidden Agenda Behind them

You don't have to answer a question, just because someone asks you. If you feel uncomfortable or confused about the nature of the question, don't answer it. If you sense a hidden agenda behind it, don't answer it. Don't feel rushed about responding or about choosing whether or not to respond. Take your time. If they rush you, don't answer it.
