Party because it is now in the centre not at the end and mostly because it was Loki’s heart and love and sacrifice that allowed it to form at all.

Random Loki Thoughts

Ok so someone on Twitter theorized that Loki is going to end up going to the Sacred Timeline and recruiting everyone (Mobius, B-15, Casey) into the TVA.

Originally I thought that after Mobius had his memory wiped, he still subconsciously remembered seeing Loki (when Mobius was running after him in the opening of Season 2), and that's why he became fascinated with studying Loki variants. But what if the original fascination was because Loki actually recruited Mobius?! And subconsciously he just knew this person was important to him!!

Also, logically I know it's going to be Loki and Sylvie at the end taking over for He Who Remains. But man, Loki and Mobius representing Order and Choas is just so good too!! I just hope whatever happens Loki and Mobius are still able to see each other/be together.

So, Loki’s, like, a god for real-for real now, right? And he’s got a grasp on every timeline.

This opens up so many fanfiction opportunities.

Loki entering Mobius’s dreams and speaking to him (kissing him?).

Loki sending out mystic messengers to protect or communicate with his friends. Imagine foxes, wolves, crows, etc. coming to aid the TVA in battle.

Mobius or the others finding their way to Loki’s throne at the end of time. Sylvie was able to send Renslayer there pretty easily.

Loki talking to or even entering the bodies of other Lokis on the timeline. We saw him time slipping into himself from the past. Who’s to say he couldn’t do something similar now?

The list goes on. This is so far removed from being a death. The god of mischief and stories flows through all of time.

He commands us all to be gay and do crimes.

Loki's missing centuries

If Loki had to time slip back to learn all that stuff for centuries, how many times do you think he did that? He wouldn't be able to go too far back, or he might risk messing up the future. He needs to let Ravonna give victor the TVA handbook, and then get victor to the TVA, so I'm thinking that the furthest he could go back safely is when victor showed up at the TVA.

I'm thinking there was about an hour between when Victor showed up, and when the loom exploded. Roughly.

And a year is 8,760 hours. So a century is 876,000 hours. The thing said "centuries later" so thats at least two, but I'm guessing it took longer because he couldn't just study continuously, and probably had to explain himself a lot. So let's say it was 3 centuries later. That's 2,628,000 time slips.

Two million six hundred and twenty eight thousand times that Loki had to watch Mobius and his friends die, time slip painfully to the past, then see them all again - knowing that these variants are about to die, and that all this work won't be remembered.

And he knows that in a way, nothing he does matters because everything he does or says won't be remembered. But he also knows that all these variants that are dying are real people, just like him. He knows that every time the loom explodes, a variant of everyone in the entire freakin universe dies a painful horrible death because he just isn't fast enough, because he is not the perfect all-knowing god he thought he was.

His mind after all those days, weeks, years would get tired, but his body won't. He won't have time to sleep or eat. And his body won't heal. Any punch or cut he got in that fight trying to get Victor to the TVA will still hurt like it's fresh. And he will just have to feel that everyday.

Imagine how long days can feel when things aren't going your way, or when you're in pain. Then multiply it by a hundred thousand.

How long studying for finals-week feels. Multiply it by 15 thousand.

How long high school feels. Multiply it by 75.

Imagine going to high school 75 times in a row, with no support, no breaks, no food, no sleep, and having to watch the love of your life and all your friends die a painfully horrible death 24 times a day.

Like my mind is boggled.

But during all that time, he thought that this was the best plan of action. Because at the end of it, he would get to live. He made variants of the entire universe die two million times because he wanted to to live a life with people who loved him for him.

At the end of the first episode, Loki came crashing into Mobius without any sort of temporal radiation suit. He survived being out there once, and after 300 years, and a whole f ton of time and space knowledge, I'd think he'd figure out that he could go out there and not die.

I want to know when he realized that he was powerful enough to do what he did in the end. Was it really at the end after all those years? Or did he just not do that plan because even after hundreds of years, he was still a little selfish. He would rather all those variants die over and over than give up on his own life. Just maybe. Just a thought.

I feel like a lot of people thought it was unrealistic that Loki changed so much in this show. But that last step that he took to become truly selfless seemed to be the hardest. Loving and being loved wasn't too hard. That took like days or weeks to get used to. But realizing that the solution was to give up his own life took centuries. Or at least acting on that realization. How long would you need to sacrifice yourself like that, given infinite time loops?

How many times would you let the world burn because you're afraid?

-I really hope Victor Timely ends up being like the one good Kang variant. I just want Loki to give him that “you can be whatever you wanna be, even someone good” talk and I want him to prove loki right. I feel like if that happens, though, then he’ll definitely end up dying

-I’m gonna need loki to have several powerful solo magic moments cause I’m getting sick of sylvie having all of the cool power displays (and no him holding her hand and doing it doesn’t count)

-I need to see loki enchanting again. Like I want that to become one of his main skills

-bring his sword back pls

-let him do more physical fighting. Like I love that he’s getting a little more magic use lately but I don’t want them to make the same mistake fanfic authors always make of “oh he’s not that great at physical fighting so he just uses magic instead.”

-I want Ravonna to be a villain who ends up working with/for/dating one of the other kang variants (not timely)

-I love that sylvie is getting so little screen time so far. God I hope it stays like that (even though I know it won’t)

-I try really hard to not be downright insulting even when I’m being negative about characters but my god she’s so annoying and he haircut and outfit are just so ugly 😭

-not enough Casey and D-90 so far. Also I hope ep 2 wasn’t the last we see of Brad.

-I really need that scene in the trailers of Loki walking out to the loom with no space suit to be some ridiculously powerful badass magic thing that he does to save the day

-ravonna’s morals are terrible but she’s so damn hot in her period costume oh god

-I need our main ppl to stay at the TVA in the end, and I need loki to realise the TVA is his new home and choose to stay there too

-I hope sylvie goes back to McDonald’s and leaves everyone alone

I think the way they ended it left it pretty open ended for the possibility of other things

But I find it sad

At the beginning, Loki told Mobius he wanted a throne, that he deserved a throne to fulfill his glorious purpose

But by the next season he had a change of heart. A throne is not what he wanted. He didn’t want to be alone. He wanted his friends.

But by the end he placed the lives of the entire universe over his own wants and he got exactly what he wanted in the very first episode, his own throne. To be king.

But now he’s alone. Potentially forever.

He lost even if he won.

And Mobius finding out exactly what he was protecting the entire time is very heartwarming but also breaking. It must be so bittersweet to see that this entire time you were protecting a man who looks like you living the life you always dreamed, understanding where your love of jetSki’s came from and that you’re protecting your sons. But also being vaguely aware that even though that is his life, it isn’t his life. He’s a variant. He can’t have that. He’s not part of this timeline. And he can’t displace that man he’s been working so long to protect. His timeline is gone.

And the fact that they have no way of knowing if Loki’s ok? That really saddens me. For all they know, he died when the timelines came back to life. He saved everyone, at the cost of his life.

Overall, they wrapped the season up stunningly but that leaves the awareness that there most likely won’t be another season as where are they to take it now? A quick google search doesn’t leave much hope for another either.

I really enjoyed the series from the debates over whether selfcest was ok to the Loki x Mobius fanart spam on my for you page to the talks with some friends over what we liked and disliked from it.

I loved it. But I’m also sad to see yet another series end.

Honestly really impressed by the acting in Loki, specifically Owen Wilson - like Mobius is such a subtle character that could have been such a generic "agent" npc, but Owen imbues him with this sly wit, a caring fatherly attitude, and so much depth. Like he talks slow, with a folksy accent, and he's not flashy, but you can tell that he's so intelligent and compassionate, patient and good.

Like, at this point, I also don't want Sylki because Loki is further along in his character arc and so that relationship could get really patronizing and gross really quickly. In S1, they were a bit more evenly matched, but at this point, it feels like Sylvie has a lot more to learn from Loki than Loki necessarily has to learn from her. It's good for Loki that she's there because it's a reminder to him to be gentle with himself in the same way that he's gentle with her, but that's not...a good basis for a relationship. In each instance where they've fought about something in s2, Loki has ultimately been right.

Meanwhile, while in S1 Mobius seemed ahead of Loki, S2 has made efforts to even out their development and put them on a more level playing field. This was showcased explicitly in episode 2, where they each borrowed tactics used by the other one. Loki has his demons, but so does Mobius. Unlike Sylvie, neither one is still driven exclusively by those demons, and that's why they're each able to recognize and conquer their own narcissism and be compassionate and gentle with each other. The relationship between them feels like one of equals at this point, even if it started out as mentor/mentee.

Like...obviously if the writers want to rewrite the season in 2x06 and speedrun Sylvie's development in order to jam her back with Loki, no one can stop them. But it would be such a horrible way to cap off a wonderful season (and, possibly, show).

Well. Burdened with knowledge and wisdom. Don’t have a purpose? Invent one yourself. Below are my random threads of thoughts and rhetorical questions; it’s 5.30 am and I haven’t been sleeping for the past couple hours.

I wonder if Loki is the only one who can do that, and if so, why him? I mean, he is special in many ways. But are his love for his people and the need to belong unique in the big multiverse? In the end, (space)time slipping is relative and subjective and can remain unknown for others. Meaning, anyone could time slip and we wouldn’t know – if no one talks about it

And if so, was HWR aware of it somehow? In the end, it started happening after Loki returned from the Citadel, met past Mobius and panicked that he lost the only person left whom he cared about. I guess time slipping isn’t magic since it’s not constrained by the safety system.

How far back can he go? Is he bound to his own universe? Which universe is his?

All in all, it’s a bigger responsibility than the TVA. It’s bigger than HWR’s ambitions or Thanos’s twisted care for the universe. Imagine this power in the wrong hands. Are Loki’s the right ones? I really wanna see what he does with it now. Can we trust him?

I still don’t see how the Loom’s or the TVA’s existence are justified. Loki wants his friends, okay. Will he let them go once the TVA is fixed? Will they go back? B-15 chose to stay and care for the TVA. OB is literally living in a sci-fi dream. Casey doesn’t have to be a criminal. But Mobius is a dad and subconsciously still wants to be a dad. And what about other tens and hundreds (?) of minutemen, judges, analysts and other employees?

If we slap a bunch of really good quotes from the show, we come to a conclusion: once you’re changed by the journey you’re not the same as you were before you left and you can’t unsee things. You still can choose to stay or go back, so this is free will. I guess the TVA employees were recruited and given a choice to join, rather than being stolen from their timelines and brainwashed. Huge mistake of HWR’s was to remove people’s awareness of their past.

I can't even begin to fathom what Loki must have felt for CENTURIES while he was learning about physics, mechanics and engineering to save the lives of everyone he loves...

Whilst learning all he could from every expert he could find, he was probably constantly thinking about Mobius, Sylvie, OB, B15, Casey and Timely's lives being at stake in the TVA before the loom burst.

Does this mean he was constantly tweaking the equation, time slipping back to that moment time and time again only to fail miserably every time. When he gets to go back to that timeline, he is emotionally going through so much because not only can he meet his friends again but he can also interact with them, even if it's through this terrible crisis?

Oh god, I can even imagine him going back in time to those comfort moments in his life like those times he met Mobius, or maybe his moments on the Lamentis with Sylvie, or even those moments with Casey when he marvels up at the TVA in Episode 1 just to be with them... Or even worse, he goes back in time to moments with his family (Frigga, because I can just see him going back when he can't figure out how to fix the Loom and going back to his mother for emotional support and advice. Or to Thor, because despite everything, he is his brother. And maybe even to Odin as well.)

Ugh, this just messes with me so much! I know that scene is supposed to be hilarious (and it was, so much so!), but the fact that Loki spent all of time trying to figure out how to save the universe on his own in a timeline where no one remembers the interactions he makes is absolutely fucking heartbreaking! ;_;

And then he ultimately ends up choosing to be alone, because that is his only viable option. This BREAKS MY HEART SO MUCH.

All he wanted was to be with them, his FOUND FAMILY! *cries*

I can't... This season finale is absolutely mind-blowing and amazing! I cannot even begin to tell you how immensely powerful that scene was at the very end! <3

He literally embodied all of time, always, with his actions and his ultimate sacrifice of his own existence in the end.

I am very definitely glad that neither Lokius nor Sylki were endgame. Sorry, guys (yeah, I suck).

The timeline becoming Yggdrasil was cool.

Loki evolving into a better god was nice, I think… maybe

I think I’m OK with this ending. I may change my mind tomorrow.

OK, no leather, but at least there were horns, I really hated that damn TVA suit thing. Horns alone may pacify me.

It’s kind of wild that at the end of Loki S2 they acted like Loki’s going to be alone forever.

When Renslayer and Miss Minutes teleported into that jail cell, I realized this series operates on Gotham rules: anyone can go anywhere whenever they want as long as it would be interesting for the plot. (In case you’re unaware, this was notorious in the TV show Gotham, where it seemed like any rogue could get into Wayne Manor with ease.)

I’m not quite sure, but Loki’s either at the End of Time (which Sylvie seemed to have no problem sending Renslayer to earlier) or in a pocket dimension just outside the TVA where the Loom used to be. Even if the TemPads can’t be used to get to where he is RIGHT NOW, his friends have an infinite amount of time to figure out a way to get to him. Plus Loki himself has always been a talented magician and now he’s also as good at quantum physics as OB. He’ll probably find a way to reach out eventually.

Having an important job where you can’t leave doesn’t mean you can’t text your friends and receive visitors from time to time.

I was just re-watching Loki s1 ep1, and it's crazy how the show set up the TVA being evil.

Like B-15's first scene, she gives Loki the equivalent of 16 punches to the face, then kills some random bystanders, and kidnaps Loki. It should have been easy to see that the TVA was bad. But they cut right into the bureaucracy of it all, and I guess I just got distracted by the world building.

Then it was interesting that they used the son of someone at Goldman and Sachs (a known evil) for the other character in line. It felt like Loki and that guy were set up to appear like the bad guys, and the TVA was just coming in to fix their wrongs.

If they had pruned like a crying child, or even just a regular scared person instead, it would have been too easy to see them as obviously evil. I feel like the show was trying really hard to set the TVA up as a mundane evil, so they could toe that line of "maybe we are just the best of two evils."
