Part 4 of - what the heck is going on with Mobius anyway?
S2e5 - the one with where they get the band back together
Disclaimer- I’m a single parent and found it hard to be objective watching this one. For me this episode was a very perfect reflection of how hard, lonely it can be to bring up children by yourself and how you willingly give up so much of yourself for them. They did this very well - I hope they don’t screw this up in the final episode.
A good life, but not a happy one
Mobius timeline life is good but not super happy. He comes across as struggling and lonely. Mobius works 6 days a week, he tries to sell Loki one of his jet skis that he no longer can use, he’s constantly being interrupted at work by his kids, the house is chaos and he had to leave the boys to fend for themselves selves while he was at work (therefore he has no friends or family to watch them or money to pay for childcare). This is a person struggling to keep it together, but he does manage to do so for his boys and he manages to stay kind and positive towards them. The boys are the top of his list of priorities “I can’t leave my boys”/ “I need to check on the kids” “I got to get back to my boys” “I’ll know”. This all speaks of someone who has given up his own wants for the kids and feels guilty about doing anything for himself.
Given the slightly flippant tone of “long gone” when discussing his wife I think it likely she left rather than died (or blipped) - as that’s not how a grieving widower is likely to speak (especially if he might be overheard by the boys).
The whisper of adventure
There are a number of signs that Mobius has a desire for adventure. His love of jet skis, the fact he immediately agreed to try out the time door, how much he loved the idea of being “Mobius.” (“Mobius is a pretty cool name”)
The idea of being your better self
It wasn’t just adventure for fun that’s calling his name though but also the idea of being something more. Mobius reacted emotionally to the idea of himself as someone that would “save my life when I first arrived”. His delivery of “I sell Jet Skis man” showed how little he thought of himself, but also a desire to be something more.
Loneliness
This exchange killed me:
Loki “you saved my life when I first arrived. You saw something in me I hadn’t seen in myself”
Mobius “Are you really my friend?”
Loki “I am”.
Just the way Mobius says this tell us how much he really really wants to believe he could have a friend like this.
Loki’s view of Mobius
Once again the major topic of conversation between Sylvie and Loki is Mobius (this is becoming a theme - and if they do get Sylvie and Loki together it’s just mad and funny).
Anyway this conversation tells us that Loki believed Mobius when he said the TVA was the “only life he knew” and that he “liked it”. Of course there’s an element of this being wishful thinking on Loki’s part, but he is pretty insistent that Mobius should be given the choice. So Loki thinks (at least until Sylvie talks him out of it) that there is a good chance Mobius would chose the TVA - and himself. And as Frigga once said (Thor: dark world) Loki is “.. so perceptive about everyone but yourself”. So I don’t think we should dismiss Loki’s perception about Mobius. (He is also pretty insistent in his conversation with Mobius that “this is not the life of the man I know”. And there’s enough for viewers to see “Mobius” is more at ease with himself than “Don”.)
Sylvie undermines this and persuades Loki he is being selfish. (Side note - Sylvie puzzles me this season and in particular in this episode- if you watch closely she sees that her McDonalds meal disappears and Loki’s drink in the bar disappear too - but says nothing to Loki and does everything to stop Loki from trying to fix it - is it just denial or something more sinister?)
Last episode
So some theory based predictions for Ep 6
Themes that still need payoff:
- order & chaos
- Partners & Friends & loneliness
- Hard choices
Th end of the last episode has me thinking we may get a happy ending because it would be narratively neat to leave Loki surrounded by his new TVA family - especially after the way last episode was concluded.
It would pay off the themes positively as follows:
order & chaos - Loki (chaos) working with TVA (order) to give balance
Partners & Friends & loneliness - Loki and his misfit friends get to stay together so they don’t have to be alone
Hard choices - this one worries me but it would be possible for a number of hard choices to be made that still ends up in a good place (even if it doesn’t seem like it will at the time).
Hard choices Mobius
I think this is aimed specifically at Mobius - Loki made his hard choice in Ep 5 when he was willing to let this team go. I’m hoping they will be able to square the circle with Mobius and his family, because he’ll *not* be ok without the boys or without Loki (& the TVA).
Given this is a time travel show with magic I don’t see why they can’t find an solution to that - because the issue is about not having enough time to both look after the boys and look after yourself. I’ll be super disappointed if they make this unnecessarily miserable by making Mobius give up either his fulfilling life & friends at the TVA or his boys. Though I also won’t be surprised to see this as a plot point. If they try to sell it to me as Mobius being super happy to return to his life I’ll be doubly annoyed.
In theory the boys timeline should be long gone so this choice should not exist, but they seem to be setting up this hard choice for Mobius in particular ( so maybe the loom explosion was meant to be a full reset).
Hanging threads & wild cards
X5 /Brad /Zaniac - is still in the TVA - is he going to cause chaos as they try to fix the loom?
Renslayer - is in the void - will she tame Alioth? Is Miss Minutes really gone or does she have another instance in the citadel at the end of time?
Kang - is HWR really behind everything? Are all the events just one pre-planned trap of HWR?
Sylvie - Sylvie knew more than she has told anyone (eg she saw the disappearance of items and said nothing). She has HWR tempad. Loki treats her like she has words of wisdom so we also tend to accept she is right or benign, but her last piece of advice was completely wrong. She has been acting pretty oddly all season too - what’s up with that? (Worth remembering she is a Loki variant and they are generally not to be trusted).
Romance
My own reading of Mobius remains that he lost his heart to Loki sometime around S1e2. By S1e5 he’d accepted this, but concluded it wasn’t going anywhere - so conveniently he didn’t need to exactly work out what the feelings were. Mainly because Loki was focused on Sylvie. This episode doesn’t change that since we don’t get any TVA Mobius.
Loki on the other hand did give more away this episode - and it was the first one (for me) where it looked like his feelings could be romantic or at least headed that way. Whenever he talks about saving his friends we all know this primarily means Mobius. I mean how much interaction has he really had with the others? The discussion in the bar was particularly instructive- he wants Mobius to have the choice (this is *after* seeing him on the timeline when he knows what Mobius would be giving up) and he desperately hopes Mobius would choose to stay with him. But Sylvie persuades him otherwise.
Sylvie - there is really no sign of the romance from last season left here. Loki does still greatly admire Sylvie. I’d say Loki almost hero worships her - and especially takes what she says about free will and choice as authoritative (as if she were an expert on it). This is consistent with his romantic feelings from s1e4,5&6 which seemed to grow out of his admiration for her radical / free spirit nature. But by this episode it didn’t seem to be romantic any more - rather a mentor / mentee conversation. Loki did not declare he wanted Sylvie back or even anything close to it - and it would have been the obvious time to do that.
Sylvie has never seemed particularly romantically interested in Loki to me. She kissed him to distract him in s1e6 and no doubt thinks he’s quite hot, but that’s all I’m getting. I actually like this about her as a character (she’s just not that into you Loki sorry). I hope she is a bit more villainous than we know (a bit more basic Loki if you will) otherwise she has been a bit of a spare part this season.
I am not expecting any romance from the last episode though mainly because:
(1) I don’t think there is time to do either romance option justice with all the other plot points to be resolved (2) romance is not central to the plot of season 2 - they have pushed the friendship / found family theme hard and that will do for plotting & emotional payoff purposes, and (3) if you want to be commissioned for season 3 you don’t resolve romantic tension. We’re on Tumblr so we all know there are a significant chunk of fans of any media that follow the stories for the romance aspect - and we all know this audience is likely to be very loyal, vocal on social media and will predictably turn up to watch the next season just to see how it plays out. If they resolve a romance arc either way too early they kill a lot of interest in season 3 - people are always more interested in “will they won’t they” than an established relationship.

Good evening, Lokius nation! I offer you meta, and theories based in meta.
I don’t have the fortitude to crosspost this long thread to tumblr and certainly not before episode 2x04 drops. But you may read it on Twitter if you wish.

Loki S2 Finale Prediction
Tumblr media
With all the news and announcements coming out, i decided to make a prediction for what the finale will be. tbh This is based on what I have seen in the trailer and other stuff
——————————————————————————
The episode would pick up back where it all started in episode 1, where the TVA is in shambles and Loki would be time slipping (or not)
Now from episode 1, it's understood that Loki HAD the ability to go from the past, present and future of the TVA with a part of that future being seen towards the end of episode 1, with the phone ringing, Sylvie struggling to get the elevator door open and present Loki being pruned by someone (which many have believed to be future Loki) but I beg to differ.
I don’t think it was future Loki pruning past (or our current) Loki, and the only reason why I believe this is because, TO ME it doesn’t make sense how FUTURE LOKI would prune his past self, how could 2 versions of Loki be in the same timeline of the TVA? Especially since Loki has been time slipping back and forth that entire episode.
NOT TO MENTION that Sylvie calls him out “There you are!” As if she’s been searching for him for AGES or is relieved to find him, but before anything could happen, Loki is pruned and sent back to the present (to where EP1 left off)
Why would “FUTURE” Loki prune himself? Because he knew that “it's what needed to be done?”, to me it doesn’t make sense nor do I think it’s plausible that it was him….so who pruned Loki?
My 2 guesses are Ravonna Renslayer or Victor Timely, with my bet being Victor Timely, which leads me to believe that Loki had to sacrifice himself (as seen by 2 shots in the trailer of Sylvie and Mobius with mortified faces and Loki simply smiling back)
Now why would he prune Loki? Because by sending him back to the past, Victor Timely has full control and power to start the TVA all over again or at least re-claim control of it in the future, and basically reset everything once again (as explained by He Who Remains in the S1 Finale)
So by the time we the audience and present Loki reach the future (or S2 finale) it would have been too late.
I don’t think Marvel would kill Loki off, honestly, in the position Marvel is in right now, it is NOT a good business decision, ALTHOUGH from a story point position…ending the Loki arc with a banger Season 2 would not only seal Loki’s entire history in the franchise, giving him a good or bad ending, is up to debate, but PERSONALLY a bitter-sweet ending would fit well for a character like Loki
I think the finale would involve Loki sacrificing himself to save the TVA, Sylvie, Mobius, and essentially…everyone. The future we saw in S1 was a future too late, it was bound to happen and this sacrifice, where I am pretty sure he would be back in the temporal loom could possibly kill him…or maybe spit him into a different timeline…or maybe…he wakes up, and he’s in Valhalla
——————————————————————————
I love fan theories and predictions, literally speculation of what could happen is just so fun so if y’all have ur own theories or predictions, go ahead and comment/reblog it, i love love love reading them!!

Future vision anon. If the next clip is "the sun will shine on us again" it'll be so obvious marvel is trolling us lol
or... OR we will see the Brodinsons reunited 😍.
I feel like it'll either be the very last clip or we won't see it until a future movie. But 🤷🏼‍♀️

Two different brilliant folks made theories about season 2 of Loki, and the theories fit together very nicely!
@whispering-about-loki made this post which—to roughly paraphrase—says that the actor/antagonist in the trailer is named Brad Wolfe and is probably a serial killer who time-travels.
And @softforloki made this post which points out that Loki and Mobius “are at the World's Columbian Exhibition, also known as the World's Fair” and that “ the World Fair…was the ground for serial killer H. H. Holmes, who used the World Fair to target people who came to Chicago to see it.”
Putting this info together, I’m thinking that the character Brad Wolfe must be H.H. Holmes (or at least fill his role) in Season 2.

IT WOULD BE SO SATISFYING
IF WE GET TO SEE LOKI STAND UP TO SYLVIE IN LOKI S2
ESPECIALLY WHEN HE JUST WALKS IN ON SYLVIE AND SIGYN ARGUING AND SYLVIE TRIES TO FLAME SLAP SIGYN
Like
Sylvie and Sigyn : * intense argument about their opposing objectives in overthrowing the TVA, Sylvie doesn't give a damn about other TV variants ( WTF ), while Sigyn cares for the well being of others around her especially in times of distress *
Loki : * JUST HAPPENED TO WALK IN *
Sylvie : * about to MCFUCKING SLAP SIGYN WITH GREEN FLAMES *
Sigyn : * shields herself with an auroral force field *
Loki : * grabs Sylvie by the wrist AND FROZEN HER WRIST WITH HIS ICE POWERS * ( tranquil fury ) ENOUGH. YOU DO NOT INSULT A PRINCESS CONSORT IN SUCH A MANNER.
Sigyn : * looks up from her auroral force field and smiles *
Loki : ( at Sylvie ) I have been TRYING to form a friendship or alliance between us, and all you have done is to tire me - and us - with your incessant whining and insults. And you DO NOT disrespect my bride Sigyn in SUCH A MANNER. She's also trying her best to help others while only YOU care for yourself.
Sylvie : * indignant * ARENT LOKIS SUPPOSED TO CARE ONLY FOR THEMSELVES?! * trying to make ANOTHER move on Sigyn, yet Loki stops Sylvie with a glacial force field *
Loki : Not THIS Loki. THIS Loki cares for his mother, Thor ( actually ), his father Odin ( actually ) AND especially Sigyn. You have crossed the line by insulting and berating Sigyn like this. Whatever alliance between us - whom I thought would have SOMETHING in common - IS A SHAM. SO ITS OVER. IM DONE. WE' RE DONE. GO ROT IN HELL AND CRY IN YOUR WHINE CORNER OR SOMETHING.
Sylvie : * is too shocked to say anything *
Sigyn : * gives Sylvie a ' You heard him ' look *
Sylvie : FINE. And one day, you BOTH are going to regret it. ( storms away )
Loki turns to Sigyn and becomes tender
Loki : Are you alright, my love?
Sigyn : * smiles * I'm fine - I'm a Valkyrie veteran. There is nothing I cannot handle.
Loki : * kisses Sigyn * I love you so much, my starlight.
Sigyn : * smiles and blushes *

I feel like we don’t talk about this scene enough. It’s the implication that Mobius knows every terrible thing Loki has ever done and has still never seen him as a villain because of it. It’s Loki intimidating Brad by saying that Mobius—the person who understands him best—would agree that Loki is capable of getting what he needs from Brad. It’s Loki admitting that Mobius is the one who knows him better than anyone else ever has. It’s the casual intimacy of the statement, just 3 ostensibly unimportant words thrown on at the end of a sentence that ultimately reveals how familiar and close they really are to each another.

Not me bringing more lokius and angst to the table.
But from what we have seen of the end of the episode, Loki can hear through the branches People talking(?). What if Loki can hear how his dear friends decided to move on from everything, after his sacrifice.
But he hears in the distance, one calmly voice, saying "he will keep waiting" for him to return "let time pass". Like imagine how Loki would feel hearing that even after all of this there will be someone waiting for him, and its Mobius.
Like let me cry. For a moment.

Okay, I wanna talk about this scene and what it might mean for Loki and Mobius in S2.
Tumblr media
Sure, they stood here so Loki could point at the panel showing all the Kangs fighting, and the full mural is meant to be the story of how the Time Keepers created order out of chaos, but what if it also means something else.
Let's look at Mobius first, then Loki.
Mobius POV
Mobius is standing with his back to a panel representing chaos and looking at one that represents order, showing the Time Keepers appearing as gods to shocked people below. Seems very religious and mythological, right?
"If you think too hard about where any of us came from, who we truly are, it sounds kinda ridiculous."
Mobius had always believed in order and that what the TVA were doing, ripping people from their lives, was necessary.
He also has previously likened Loki's origins, which is literal mythology in mcu form, as similar to his own experiences in the TVA.
What he isn't aware of is who exactly was behind the curtain or that all-out war is coming. That's something Loki reveals to Mobius, showing him the truth in his blindspot (the panel behind him).
Now, he knows the Time Keepers are fake, that he wasn't created by them. By this point in the episode, he's already acknowledged to B-15 that their gods are dead.
This revelation for Mobius feels pretty similar to how the truth was revealed to Loki in S1E1.
Mobius is also looking at a panicked Loki. He's seen him teary-eyed before, but not this distressed.
What Mobius sees before him is his fear, that Loki won't be able to escape the bonds of the sacred timeline, that he's doomed to die, and that pains him.
And one last thing. Loki is a god of mischief, and I can't help thinking about the comparison of a real god Mobius can see in front of him and the fake Time Keepers in the panel behind Loki.
Loki POV
Meanwhile, Loki is looking at chaos that scares him. The panel has several Kangs all fighting for supremacy in a pose that was similar to that shown by Kang in S1E6.
Loki is the god of mischief, who thrives on chaos, and yet the prospect of all these Kangs frightens him.
War is the only thing preoccuping his mind. It's the only thing he can see.
But behind him are the Time Keepers, and we know they are fake, but what if the truth Loki has to face is that while he no longer wants a throne, he might need to take it to save the people he cares for, his found family.
Loki is looking at Mobius, who's concerned about him and a little rattled, but ultimately keeping his calm. I think this calm is likely to fracture the more season 2 progresses.
What Loki sees before him is his fear, that Mobius will be caught up in the war and lost to him. It's a reminder of what's at stake if he doesn't restore order. And he's already experienced a Mobius who didn't know him, and that was heartbreaking.
What this scene also does is continue both Loki and Mobius being mirrors for each other, revealing truth and reflecting one another.
They are similar to each other in many ways. We saw glimpses of Mobius embracing chaos in S1, which I always love to see. And I can't wait to see more of these soulmates. They are important to one another.
Thanks to @lgwilt and @insert-witty-user-name-here for discussing this theory with me. I added in your glorious insights because what you said really resonated with me.
And I haven't even spoken about all the touching, that Mobius doesn't want to lose Loki and Loki is just so desperate to get to Mobius, but I think other people have covered that.
And just a wee note to everyone that this is just me theorising, and usually my theories do not happen, but I couldn't help pondering if this mural had an even deeper meaning. I just like theorising for fun.
Hopefully, the above made some sort of sense.

Things I learned apparently:
(Sorry last post about Loki for today I promise!)
Less important and purely for Lokius fun: Loki in mythology and (kinda) in comics has two twin boys like Mobius’ kids, Narvi and Vali. I thought the boys were different ages but they’re actually played by twins. Also the aforementioned twins are usually depicted as blond, but that’s probably just because Owen Wilson is blonde so young Don probably was too.
MORE IMPORTANT: B-15 is Verity Willis?!?! Apparently, in the end credits you see her Hospital ID or just ID, and it’s Verity motherfucking Willis?! AHHH! My girl B-15 being that person is awesome. And it even says her father’s name being…Roger Willis just like in the comics, oh my god.

Can Mobius, B15, Casey & OB return to their lives on the timeline?
So some of us have watched the mid-season trailer (so trailer spoilers ahead) which appears to show the team living lives somewhere on the timelines.
Loki putting the band back together?
It’s been speculation for a while that Loki would go back in time and recruit the team post S2e4 - and this looks like that playing out. Note this is in *the past* from our narrative pov - it’s obvious from the clip of Loki & Mobius that Mobius does not know what the TVA is.
So it looks like Loki is the person who took them from the timeline in the first place - but remember they will still need to live all their TVA lives. And it creates another paradox Loki is only taking them because of all their interactions with Loki in S1 & 2. It follows that s1&2 have to happen for them to be taken but they have to be taken for s1 & 2 to happen - round and round we go.
Branches have to be pruned
We know, from how the TVA operates in S1, this intervention by Loki will cause a nexus event and the branched timeline will be pruned. For example B15 appears to be a doctor on the sacred timeline. Let’s say Loki comes to recruit her to the TVA. This will cause a branch - one version of B15 will remain a doctor on the sacred timeline - the branched timeline created by the event will be pruned - and B15 is marooned in the TVA with no timeline to return to. The same is true of all the others.
There will exist a Mobius on the sacred timeline in his jet ski shop. But TVA!Mobius has undergone a nexus event, TVA!Mobius’ branch would have been / has/ will always be pruned - he is marooned in the TVA. There is no where for them to return. Example we have already seen is Renslayer. We saw sacredtimeline!Renslayer as a teacher in S1e6 - TVA!Renslayer can’t return because sacredtimeline!Renslayer is there (she never left) and TVA!Renslayer’s branch would have been pruned.
Does Mobius contradict himself?
I think this also explains the difference between Mobius initial reaction in s1e4 where he says to Renslayer if he could really go anywhere he’d go back to where he’s “really from.” The problem is (as he explains in S2e2) that’s actually impossible that is not “his life” it’s sacredtimeline!Mobius’ life and the branch would have been destroyed. It’s not a contradiction or continuity error - s1e4 response one was a fantasy and the other an acknowledgment of reality (according to the rules as we know them).
Options for the team
Unless they change the rules somehow (magic?) the TVA team should *not* be able to return. Options they have are (1) start a new life like a Sylvie did (or X5 though (2) I think there’s a possibility TVA!X5 killed sacredtimeline!X5.
If there’s a magic reset button allowing them to return to the point they left I think it would badly undercut the emotional impact of the central idea in season 2 - that pruning the branches was killing people. It would also be a more dramatic / heroic story for the TVA team that they literally gave up living that life.
From a character point of view - working for the TVA for centuries should also make it emotionally impossible to go back to a former life as if nothing happened. The only way to overcome that obstacle would be another memory wipe - possible as we know, but memory wipes give me the creeping horrors so would not be a “happy” ending from my point of view.
Of course they could push the magic reset and hand wave the character change issue but I really hope not - they have not been afraid to be dark his season and a reset “it was all a dream” sort of ending would be really lame.
Conclusion!
In conclusion I don’t think they will return to their lives (they can’t) but I can’t say what will happen or if they will even be able to break the time loop effectively.
Final note to add I now think Loki gives Mobius his name (“it’s what [he] answers to”). And I will watch Ep 5 & 6 to see this play out if for no other reason.

"What did we do wrong?" "I don't know."
Tumblr media
🙋🏻 I think I might.
It's the hot cocoa.
Or rather… it's Loki semi-unintentionally siding with Sylvie over Mobius.
Tumblr media
In this episode, that's the tipping point. And so is lack of trust.
What we just watched is the version where things go very wrong and they fail.
But here's the delightful part to remember: things had to go wrong exactly like this, so eventually things can go very right. Because as "wrong" as this was, it had at least one purpose: Loki pruning himself.
Tumblr media
That being said... "What's wrong?"
We've got a list.
Tumblr media
-Timely's gone.
-Miss Minutes is back (and so is Renslayer).
-Dox and her team are dead.
Now work it backwards.
Miss Minutes / Renslayer get in, Brad is freed, and Dox and her team are killed. D-90 isn't there.
Why isn't he there?
He was sent to be with Victor.
D-90 is killed and Victor is taken at the hot cocoa machine, which delays everything.
Why are they at that machine?
Because Mobius got cocoa.
Tumblr media
Why did Mobius get hot cocoa?
Because he wanted pie, but Sylvie yelled at him.
And when Loki didn't defend him in that crucial moment and actually walked away from him instead, Mobius simply got hot cocoa by himself as a pick-me-up.
Tumblr media
Therefore: Lokius is the tipping point.
What did they do wrong?
What happened?
Loki and Mobius were separated and weren't on the same page. THAT'S what happened. And so, everything fell apart.
Tumblr media
Words – or the lack of them, in Loki's case above when he didn't defend Mobius – can change everything.
For good or for bad.
(These shots are back to back:)
Tumblr media
Lack of trust is also why things fall apart.
Sylvie attacks Mobius because he walks away, trusting the work to O.B. and Casey and Victor.
Tumblr media
She can't fathom that. She sees it as a weakness. But it's one of his greatest strengths, and it's their only way forward.
It's also part of the "trust for others" theme that's been present from the very first episode of the show, and it's a primary lesson that Loki's first had to learn through his relationship with and love for Mobius.
And the necessity of trust is showcased throughout this episode in other places. Sylvie accuses Loki of putting a lot of faith in the others, and simultaneously she keeps talking about the TVA as a corrupted place / institution instead of seeing the individual people capable of change.
Tumblr media
But Loki explains to her that it's about the people. He lists the names of his new family – the people he trusts – as being the heart of things. What's worth saving and worth fighting for.
Tumblr media
Brad and Dox are mirroring the trust theme here too, of course.
Brad doesn't trust B-15, and he doesn't pick trusting or aligning with anyone. He dooms Dox and the others to die.
But she sees the big picture and is willing to die with integrity rather than betray the PEOPLE of the TVA.
Tumblr media
And Victor?
He says he doesn't trust anyone… but then he chooses to change. With O.B., he chooses to have a partner.
(Not dissimilar to the ways we've seen Loki change over the show, too.)
And were it not for the ~hot cocoa,~ in THIS regard, things were going "according to plan."
Tumblr media
So as Victor says in the season 2 trailer in a clip we haven't heard yet (!!!): they have to "make the hard choice," of course.
Trust each other, work to fix what's broken, have hope, and STAY.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Loki and Mobius, the personification of chaos and order in balance, HAVE to stay together or it turns to shit.
Loki can't turn into a better leader if he ends up being Who Remains all by himself. He's gonna need his partner and the rest of his people for the TVA to truly change.
Tumblr media
But how are they gonna do that if they all just blew up? Lmao.
Well… that part of the theory's a work in progress.
But this involves both butterfly effects and time loops. Somehow we'll likely be going backwards to earlier versions of them that will be trying again.
And depending on just how far back they go… Loki and Mobius' influence on each other may be a snake eating its own tail, just like Ouroboros and Victor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Regardless, pretty sure Mobius is correct here. As he tends to be, lol.
Tumblr media
It's gonna be Loki's turn. God of Mischief becoming the Loki Who Remains that Mobius needs, etc.
And it always comes down to the two of them at the heart of things, somehow.
Last thing:
I'm not convinced those versions of them all survived the blast that happened because of these wrong turns, to be honest with you.
Tumblr media
But if anyone did… the gods did.
Tumblr media
And they're (hopefully) not gonna make the same mistakes twice.
Tumblr media

Next thor official pic is when loki says "odinson" in infinity war (i think?)
Possibly! I think it'll either be that whole first scene or these specific lines...
1. "The sun will shine on us again."
2. "Loki of Jotunheim, God of Mischief, Odinson [...] undying Fidelity" (I'm still rooting for a Sigyn, maybe not this season, but hopefully in the future when Loki finds his place🤞🏻)
or... OR
3. "You will never be a God." (Which I think fits best with the themes of the show, "Well be playing god"/"We are gods." And such.)

Is the kid at the end of episode 2 Mobius?
It would make perfect sense.
Mobius and Loki were literally just talking about finding Mobius's past hours ago.The foreshadowing all adds up. Plus, at some point they brought up that he would have a different name. His original name is not Mobius. What if it was Jack?
But anyway, if you look at how the kid is dressed-
(a tan overcoat, a striped tie, yellow? brown? clogs, and a white collared shirt)
-it seems a bit familiar..

The yellowish brown clogs, a white collared shirt, a brown suit, and tie.
Sure, we can take this as the TVA having their own dress code in hues of brown and suites-

But they all wear it differently.
B-15 wears black formal clothes with no blazer and a red tie. It's representative of being a hunter since they all wear black.
Loki wears the brown suits and all, but he constantly changes how he wears it. He pops the collar, takes off the blazer entirely, rolls up his sleeves, etc. Plus, he has a different tie than everyone else.
Casey never wears the blazer, so it's apparently not a strict requirement.
O.B. doesn't wear a suit at all due to the work he does.
Renslayer wears the suit and all, but it's different. She has a yellow undershirt, a colorfully patterned tie, she keeps it buttoned, etc.
The uniforms for McDonalds at the time were striped red and white, as seen in the episode. The kid chose to wear a tie of his own volition, it's his style.
THEN, Mobius is the only one where he a) keeps the blazer unbuttoned b) wears lighter, laceless shoes, and c) is that specific type of awkward when talking to someone.
When the kid was talking to Sylvie, he said: "Cool, cool." Repeating the same word, but softer. He does it without truly tripping over his words, more so repeating them. Pretending to be casual, but visibly nervous. It is Mobius's sort of mannerism.
The year is 1982. That means that in our present day, Mobius would be in his mid fifties just about. It would also suggest that he was taken by the TVA around now. Seeing as he has gray hair, this shows it could be accurate.
If this were to be true, it means a 2 things.
1. Mobius had a friendship of sorts with Sylvie when he was younger (could be why he is so interested in learning about Lokis in the TVA, they are familiar)
2. Sylvie chose this fast food place on purpose. It couldn't be random. To 'accidentally' find the same job that her variant's friend worked at as a teen. She is planning something.
