I want to say one thing.

Chris Evans has been dropping multiple hints at this entire charade being FAKE! I believe he is aware of more than we’ll ever realize and things in this PR nightmare may have started professionally or seemed standard, but by November he completely checked out and I think once more stuff like racism and the Nazi crap came out, he went mute and had someone else running his account …..hi @jossipgirl 😉. The only actual outing they had other than the pap walk was Ghosted premiere and they barely interacted publicly.

I also believe this is coming to an end soon and that his real fans who’ve called out shit while being open minded enough to understand we don’t know every little detail so yes we were pissed at him for being in this mess, but we can also see he’s trying to provide some truth if you read between the lines.

I hope he’s doing okay and I feel like Scott overstepped and this is why we got a random article today. Chris basically saying….I didn’t tell Scott to say anything and I don’t blame you all. I might be reaching but if I’m wrong ah well, if I’m right then it proves Chris is still Chris.

Like c’mon y’all if this man were truly in love …..oh you bet your bottom dollar…….WE’D KNOW!!!! Look how he expresses love about Dodger, but people want to think he’d hide his happiness. i understand that perhaps this person is your friend and you are familiar with him on a deeper level, and that because of this you would feel differently about their statement/how it should be received. with that said, being 17 is not in any way a shield nor an excuse to say outright false, defamatory, and outlandishly offensive things about someone you dislike due to stan war/stan culture.

this goes for you, him, me, and everyone else: what we post on the internet, between friends or not, is public forum and subject to strangers opinions and critique. i know for a fact i have said things on here that ruffled peoples' feathers; i have had entire accounts on here and twitter created for the sole purpose to flame me, dox me, cancel me etc... you're right that we are not in your dms and we don't know if you had a meaningful conversation about why what he said was unacceptable and harmful. i'm glad you did and i certainly hope that he took what you said to heart and will stop confidently spouting lies.

if you have indeed been a fan for years and witnessed the hate that evan received and defended him, then i feel that you'll be able to understand why it's reasonable that some folks would be bothered. he didn't say ''evan peters is an ugly hoe'', he literally accused him of abuse, racism and nazism. it is normal that people would have a reaction to that.

also, i mean, to be fair.. i, and i presume others, are speaking to twitter/fandom twitter as a whole, not directly to your account to disparage you personally. the fandom on twitter currently, is dominated by people who never made a single tweet about him before 2022, many of you guys are teens or just outside of that, and tumblr skews older so it's not unusual that there is a disconnect. that's why i'm here, on tumblr, and not on twitter yelling at anyone to get off my lawn. this entire exchange is a microcosm of that app and why i tend to not engage; it is generally a negative vibe for me, but that doesn't mean you or anyone else should not enjoy it with your friends.

no one is forcing your hand to read a gossip blog nor keep tabs on what my readers send me on here. you used to follow me on here/twitter, stopped, and now are following me on here again because you saw someone send in an ask about twitter happenings a few days back, and wanted to send me a message about it. so in all fairness, you clearly do care what others think and it feels like you and your critics are both utilizing this blog as a vessel to engage in some sort of back and forth about disagreements. to be clear, i've deleted tons of stuff from my inbox about twitter beef. respectfully, i'd prefer that drama stays on the appropriate app and not involve me. criticizing a post, tweet, video, etc. is fair game but this should not be personal. this is the internet and you're certainly entitled to your own feelings and opinions - so are the people who read this blog, who are no more "anonymous" than you or i. like i said before, i fully believe that muting/blocking and not engaging with people who bother you is the best course of action. this fandom is never going to all hold hands and sing kumbaya but it doesn't have to be a negative and hateful experience.

I hope everyone who contributed in the r.achel z.egler hate a very not good time. She’s a young 22 year old who is just getting started in Hollywood. She did not deserve the hate for the comments she said, MONTH(S) AGO that all of y’all (a very generalized y’all), decided to bring back up. A lot of the hate, at least to me, seemed like a way for people to hate as to hide their racism. But it clearly fucking showed your misogyny while no one likes to admit it.

All she said was the original Snow White scared her as a child, so she watched the movie for the first time in a long time, when she got the role.

And she also said they would be making changes, that the romance would be different. The romance that has been called out as creepy online multiple times by lots of people, long before she said it, she wasn’t the only person to ever say this, and also only lasted maybe 5 minutes of the fucking movie time total in the original animated movie.

I hate how all the hate was directed at an actress just doing her job in promoting the movie and it’s changed. Rachel was defending the changes because that was likely a part of her job and the promo/pr of the movie before the strike started.

Also Rachel is newly up and coming, she does not have the fucking power that Disney and other people in the house of mouse does that goes into the writing, green lighting, and production of the movie that other people will. Y’all’s gripes about the changes should not be with her but the other powers of be at Disney.

Also acting is a job, and while it may be preferable for an actor to like the characters they play, it is no required. They do not owe the fans that. Plenty of famous male actors don’t like the roles they played/are playing, and we rarely, if ever see them hated on.

It’s absolutely ridiculous how much people hate women. They will find any reason to hate on them, while defending men who are fucking criminals, or have done way fucking worse.

A lot of you didn’t like her because she wasn’t white and cast as Snow White, even tho Rachel is still pretty pale, and way more than qualified to play the character.

I hate y’all bullied her off her fucking social medias. And I hope to god some people have fucking hearts and empathy and feel fucking ashamed, even if you contributed the smallest fucking amount to all that hate she received. Cause it was disgusting.

「 I’M HOME, BITCHES!!!

I’m finally back in the States after an AMAZING time with the volunteer program with the great white sharks of South Africa. I have many drafts to get through, but weirder than that, I have to sift through which of those replies are with people who still want to interact and who doesn’t. it was a crazy two weeks in the rpc, y’all! Honestly, I’m kinda glad I was only able to half pay attention.

under the cut, I’m going to give my final statement on things and the current state of this blog going forward. this is not a reaction to anything new happening, but rather because I’m finally home and can assess, and now I’m a bit fired up again. but for everyone who’s (understandably over it), you can scroll past the cut.

the bottom line is, I’m not changing a thing here. I literally did nothing wrong, and since a vast majority of those who interact with me know that, I don’t feel the need to switch up things now. I completely understand why many felt the need to leave their single muse blogs or tumblr completely, and it’s a completely valid response. I, however, love this muse and this account too much to give in to the whims of a handful of crazies.

I heard some people mention making the line in their rules about not tolerating racism or homophobia bold so as to stand out, but honestly, I don’t feel the need. it’s in my rules, it’s on my blog, and it’s even in my freaking pinned post. if people want to just assume I’m down with those things without even talking to me, then that’s on their illiterate ass, not mine.

I will also not be blocking or softblocking anyone. I am aware that multiple people who have liked or reblogged the call out still follow me (and some even still interact) but that’s for them to decide what’s up. even the person who posted that callout follows me (which honestly, I find hilariously ironic, but that’s a whole different story), and I think that’s perfectly fine. why? I have nothing to hide!

that call out post was comprised of random screenshots that were taken wildly out of context. there was no actual research that went into it at all, and many of those conversations were over a month old. I don’t know why someone decided to post them to talk shit now, and without anything to back them up, but that’s on them.

so yeah, once I acclimate to the time change again and get back in the swing of things, your regularly scheduled programming for this asshole will continue! 」

Fuck all of the trolls who drove @carlaerosie to suicide, seriously, she was such a darling but you people no no bounds. She was just a teen and yet she acted with more grace and maturity than most of the adults on here. Truly disappointing to see just how racist and sexist the Encanto fandom is. I don’t know what other way to say it but...ENCANTO IS NOT FOR YOU. If you’re white and queer/neurodivergent than this movie is not for you.

Isabela didn’t want to marry Mariano because she didn’t love him and because she was under pressure to be perfect, NOT because she was a lesbian.

Mirabel’s rainbow on her dress may resemble the bisexual flag and her voice actress may be openly bisexual, but it’s more so to represent the warm-colored family. NOT bisexuality.

Dolores squeaks because it’s a common trait of Colombian women when hearing or sharing gossip and was actually developed as a coping mechanism so that European colonizers wouldn’t know what they were saying, it is NOT a tic!

Luisa is NOT trans, women can be buff without having been assigned male at birth and this is obviously just a way for racist transphobes(the type who are too scared to say that they see trans women and Black/brown women as men) to come up with an excuse for her strength and buffness by deciding that she is buff because she’s “male” and thus masculinizing her.

Camilo shapeshifting and suffering an identity crisis is NOT because he’s genderfluid, he has only ever been referred to as a BOY, and this one annoys me the most because at this point I honestly feel like the obsession with him being “so gender uwu” is just a tactic to hide or deny the fact that he’s male because that is the main reason you fuckers chose to obsess over HIM over the female characters, so you project traditionally feminine or gender non-conforming traits onto him so as to ignore the positive messages the female characters--as the center of the story--send about femininity! Y’all don’t care that Luisa can be both strong and feminine or that Isabela learns to embrace her own form of femininity by the end of the movie rather than the typical “not like other girls” form of female revolution, and is the pretty character of the story while also being a dark-skinned indigenous woman. No, it’s more crucial to try to force the animators to admit that Camilo might be wearing eyeshadow. I would be laughing if it weren’t actually so damn sad.

Why am I saying all this? Because the minority of the fandom who gets it, particularly Latines and other people of color, have been saying it for ages, trying to call out the Encanto fandom on their blatant, blind-sided ignorance, but they didn’t listen. @carlaerosie was one of those people, and they decided that because she was fifteen they could talk down to her and take advantage of her! And what do you know, they took her life with this stupid bullshit. Why am I saying this on my main blog which is about Black women’s issues and not my Isabela Madrigal sideblog? Because the fandom racism, sexism, and misogynoir that is so present in this fandom is fucking gross and I am tired of it. You literally killed this young Afro-Colombian teenage girl because you couldn’t handle that this movie was not for yo pasty asses and because she had the ovaries to call you out on your blatant erasure and protect and defend her culture, so you decided she deserved to die. And it makes me sick. That’s why I won’t be associating myself with the fandom for now. I am truly just so repulsed and bothered and annoyed.

Tony Stark-antis need to learn some chill and basic narrative comprehension skills. Like really? Again with this bullshit?

Dude, we are ONE episode into Falcon and the Winter Solider and people are already using it as an excuse to resurrect anti-Tony Stark bad takes. Like... WTF fandom? Do we really have to go through this with every single post-Endgame mcu project? Really? When are ya all gonna learn some comprehension skills and actually pick up on what the narrative is trying to say?

Say it with me: the bank loan scene was a not-very-subtle jab at systemic racism and the way black veterans have been treated in American for decades. It’s not an excuse to anti on about how “tOnY sTaRk DiDnT pAy ThE aVeNgErS CuZ hE’s A eVIL bILLIonAiRe!”

Are you all so afraid of talking about systemic racism that you have to blame Tony Stark for Sam not getting a bank loan? Really? After a year of BLM protests and extensive awareness-raising for systemic racism, and y’all still don’t get it?

That’s the real world issue that the narrative was trying to lay out, and it’s the in-universe explanation for that scene, which is trying to address out-of-universe real-world issues. But now let me be petty and go back to the in-universe issues of whether Sam got paid... because this whole take is just pissing me off and I have to rant. So...

Sam hasn’t had a paying job in seven years, and he chose to leave the Avengers when he defied the Sokovia Accords because he blindly follows everything Cap says without ever thinking for himself. He’s been badly written ever since he showed up at the end of Age of Ultron. And that bad writing means he’s just been playing as Cap’s lackey, and in doing so, he CHOSE to leave the Avengers, to reject a government paycheck, and take his chances on the run for two years as a fugitive. So yeah. Two years, no job, no pay. And as far as we can tell, he didn’t do a whole lot of awesome saving-the-world in those two years either. He was just hiding out with Cap and maybe punching a couple of low-level terrorists or something .There certainly weren’t any alien invasions that he stopped in that time. And after that, he was dust for five years. That’s not his fault, obviously, but no one can expect to collect a paycheck while they don’t exist. That’s why the post-Blip economy is probably a bit wonky at the moment. So in total... seven years. No job. No paycheck. Part of that is consequences of Sam’s actions and part of it was through no fault of his own. But yeah, after seven years with no paycheck, there’s a good chance he’s got money issues. Did banks seize assets of those who were blipped? Totally possible.

But now, in-universe, let’s remember that all this bullshit that antis are spewing about “Tony Stark should have set aside money for his friends and teammates” and “Sam saved the world from aliens so many times, so he deserves a pension” and “Tony could set up a trust fund for all of the avengers because they’re his friends!” Yeah. That’s all 100% BS.

First off, Sam Wilson and Tony Stark are not friends in the MCU. Never have been. In Civil War, Tony said, “I know we don’t know each other very well” because they don’t! They’ve NEVER FOUGHT TOGETHER ON THE SAME TEAM! Think about that. Tony wasn’t an active duty avenger between Age of Ultron and Civil War, and that’s the only time period where Sam was an active avenger. So they were never really “teammates” and they weren't friends. They were, at best, acquaintances or coworkers who never worked closely together.

And during that time, when Tony appears to have had little contact with the avengers, he was bankrolling the team. He says, “what, am I doing here? Running a bed and breakfast for a biker gang?” He made the compound and supplied all of the avengers’ tech. He gave them free room and board. It sure looks like they had everything they needed, so it’s entirely possible (even likely) that Tony was paying the Avengers during this time. But that’s all it was. Two years when Sam was an active avenger, Tony wasn’t, but Tony was still bankrolling the team. After that... Sam was a fugitive and then he was dust. So he spent 7 years with no job, and two of those years were by choice, because of Sam’s rejection of being an avenger and refusal to accept a government paycheck. He chose to be a vigilante with Cap, and vigilantism doesn’t supply a paycheck on its own.

And finally... Sam has never saved the world! And he’s only fought aliens during Infinity War and Endgame. So where are people getting this whole, “but Sam should be paid because hE sAvEd tHe wOrLd!”? Uh, no. Not really. He helped in Endgame. He tried to help in Infinity War. And that’s good. That’s important. It’s not nothing. But it’s also not saving the world. In this first episode of TFATWS, Sam literally accepted thanks from a guy who said “you brought my wife back,” when Sam had nothing to do with that. Bruce snapped and brought back all the dusted. Sam had no role in helping for that. Now I get that Sam was probably just being polite. But it’s contributing to this narrative that Sam did more then he actually did. Naw, man. Marvel never cared about Sam Wilson until five minutes ago. So they’ve never actually shown him doing anything that was, well, important. And that’s a fail on Marvel, but if we’re looking at it from a purely in-universe perspective... Sam Wilson doesn’t deserve any more or less than any other government/military contractor. Because that’s what he is now (he’s not an Avengers because the Avengers no longer exist), and that’s what he was up until the last scene of Age of Ultron. Most of his existence, he’s been a solider. He’s a military guy. So if he’s not been getting paid, that’s on the military. Tony, at most, would have paid him for two years of his time and work. The rest is all on the military, including Sam’s current finances.

Which means, you want to blame someone for Sam’s finances and his inability to get a loan? Well, there are three reasons. 1. Sam chose to leave the Avengers to become a fugitive with Cap, which means he had no job and no paycheck for two years. That’s the consequences of his actions. 2. the military either stopped paying him at some point, or hasn’t been paying him enough/quick enough in the past six months since the Blip. Military pay for veterans and veterans’ access to benefits is a real problem, but it’s a military problem. And it’s possible that any back-pay or pension that Sam is owed is tied up in red tape, which is probably only exacerbated by his time as a fugitive (which might mean he was made ineligible for any pension). And finally 3. systemic racism. His sister was pretty clear on the fact that “people like us” are the ones who always seems to be denied loans. She was saying that there is money available for loans, but it always go to white folks first. Maybe try listening to the black character explain why they believe they aren’t getting paid. Sam (when not on the run or blipped) was living a pretty cushy life as a supporting avenger for two years. He apparently didn’t have to think about how systemic racism could affect his family because he was temporarily insulated from it. Now that layer of protection is gone because he’s not living in a cushy compound away from the real world (which, for the record, is probably a good thing. I think the Avengers being so isolated from the real world is probably partially what led to the problems in Civil War). So now Sam is going to be confronted with the reality that systemic racism is real and can affect anybody, regardless of your fame or your job. And after the past year of discussions on race, the fandom shouldn’t be surprised by this narrative.

I am so sick of every single MCU project post-Endgame being twisted by antis who just want to use it to hate Tony Stark. I mean, seriously. Give it a rest, people! Try reading the narrative the way it was intended and stop twisting it for your hate-Tony-Stark obsession.

so we need to talk about racism / colourism in india:

at around 0:48 we can hear the lyric

“tujhe dekh ke goriya, Beyonce sharma jayegi”

which basically just means

“by looking at your fair (white) face, Beyonce will be embarrassed”

which is just entirely fucked up because how do you not realise that that is an extremely racist thing to say? How can you write lyrics that use fairness as an adjective to compare against black women? How are we still having this conversation in 2020?

But if you really think about it, the problem is mainly due to the normalisation of words like “gori”, meaning “fair” or “light skinned”, in Bollywood mainstream. Furthermore, if you really look at the numbers, colourism becomes even more apparent.

The ratio of light-skinned to dark-skinned actors and actresses justifies this.

oh, and, don’t worry, there’s plenty of brownfacing too.

these are just some of the many examples of plain colourism we can see in the bollywood industry. And this isn’t just limited to bollywood. It’s prevalent in literally every single part of India.

I live in the most literate state in India, Kerala. Literally 100% of the people are literate and these cases can still be seen in the Mollywood (thats the name in Kerala) industry. And noone is calling it out, which allows it to grow even more.

That’s the worst part – the fact that we refuse to even recognise it. We call out the smallest racial (or even homophobic–trust me, there’s a lot in india) inequalities in Hollywood but we don’t in Bollywood. Hindi is the 2nd most spoken language in the world. Literally billions of people watch Bollywood and take in what they give out.

We need to think about the future generations, at least. They grow up thinking this is okay, when it’s not. They need to be taught about how people are equal on the inside and outside, and this cannot happen if we refuse to acknowledge what is right in front of us.

So I block a lot of BS in the tags but I like to address part of this post that’s been going around because I dislike people acting as if their opinions are facts and then try to attack other fans with it to appear superior.

So first, this notion that anyone who came out of the show feeling bad for John therefore missed the entire point of the series is simply patently false.

Because not only do you have Director Kari Skogland saying that at the end of the day they wanted people to like him.

You also have writer Malcolm Spellman who states that John’s journey is similar to that of Bucky’s as they are both stories of veterans’ struggles:

A point that is further empathized in the behind the scenes for the making of TFATWS:

Does the character’s story also deal with systemic racism of the institution and white privilege? Yes of course. But that is also not all his story is about.

To claim that some viewers can’t feel bad that John lost his best friend, suffered a mental breakdown, and was abandoned by a government who used him and then tossed him aside as they do so many veterans for the sake of their own PR is simply bizarre. Are people not allowed to have basic empathy?

So because part of his story is about white privilege and systemic racism, that we should not feel bad that the government that engages in that very systemic racism decided to protect their own hide and screwed over a soldier they used and strip him of VA benefits that he actually not only needs but is owed to have?

Tell me you do not care about veterans’ issues without saying you do not care about veterans’ issues, I guess.

And this next statement of “John Walker is a villain” is also inaccurate because he’s not a villain. Sure he served an antagonistic role, but that does not equal villain.

Head Writer Malcolm Spellman literally says this:

And this sentiment is further emphasized again in the making of TFATWS:

Is John a flawed character? Yes. No one is denying that. But y’all out there screaming about him being a villain also wants to deny him his humanity.

You claim that you can empathize with Tony and understand why he wanted to kill Bucky, yet you do not extend that same ability to empathize and understand for John, why? Because he’s a white dude who’s not your fave? Because he’s not the explicit protagonist of a marvel movie like Tony was?

Is it really that difficult to understand or empathize with someone’s rage at seeing their best friend murdered right in front of their eyes and wanting to exact retribution? Is it really difficult to understand or empathize with someone mentally dissociating and having a breakdown because of that traumatic loss and thus is unable to be calmed down? If even Sam in the midst of that fight in the warehouse can even acknowledge “this isn’t you, John” because he recognizes that John is emotionally in a really bad place and acting out of character, then why is it that others cannot understand or empathize with that heightened emotional struggle?

Other MCU characters attempt to kill people in reaction to loss of loved ones and that is allowed to be empathized and understood, but somehow John isn’t allowed to have that same consideration? Why? Simply because he represented symbolically something that you didn’t like?

You can empathize with Tony and not call him a villain, but John is a villain?

The fact of the matter is, John Walker is not a villain, if he was a villain, he wouldn’t have chosen to let go of the shield and let go of revenge to save people’s lives. He wouldn’t have chosen to work with Sam and Bucky. And he wouldn’t have nodded at Sam in acknowledging his position as Captain America. All of this happened AFTER he got the serum which some of y’all believe made him “bad” and just amplified all the worse things, yet he still found goodness inside himself to do the right things and help.

Villains don’t do those things.

John is not a villain in the MCU, nor is he a villain even in the comics where the character is much darker than his MCU counterpart. Call him an antagonist if you want as he serves that role in TFATWS specifically, or an anti-hero in general, but he’s not the villain of the story just like Karli Morgenthau is ultimately not the villain of the story either. There’s a reason Sam’s big speech is to the government and the GRC, THEY are the real villains of the story. Maybe y’all missed that.

If you don’t like John Walker, that’s your right, but stop acting like other fans who feel different are somehow more stupid than you are or less than you. Take that self righteous superiority complex somewhere else.

Imagine you end a toxic relationship of almost a year and go to bed feeling like a ton of bricks has been lifted off you, like you can finally breathe properly and like you’re finally getting a taste of freedom. The very freedom you chose to lose by getting in the toxic relationship in the first place. Of course, I didn’t know it was toxic at the time, probably cause it wasn’t, but it gradually turned into a nightmare.

A nightmare that keeps haunting me even after I thought I had put an end to it.

Apparently, that was wishful thinking cause I woke up this morning to find an unbelievable number of notifications and messages from friends, family and my manager and associates. Being in the music industry as a faceless creator, I keep my circle tight and it only consists of people I can trust so to see them all freaking out at me at once, even the most level-headed ones, freaked me out too. Quickly, I opened the first notification I reflexively tapped on and it opened a post in which someone had tagged me.

A picture taken of me while I was asleep, no doubt one taken by my ex. That being said, I think we can all have a guess at who posted it in the first place. I didn’t listen to my manager when he told me to not allow anyone I trust 1000% into my inner circle. I was foolish and at the peak of my career, feeling on top of the world and feeling invincible which was rare for me. I’ve always been insecure about many things in my life, growing up with a lot of judgy people made me be that way. Not to mention that I didn’t want to be the victim of the internet’s racism either. People turn a blind eye most of the time, but it’s still there, it still exists and looms over all social media platforms, disturbing people’s peace left and right. You see, I didn’t want people to have an opinion of my art based on my appearance or associations with other creators. I’m pretty good friends with many content creators, especially in the gaming industry, but I’ve never wanted to be put in a box as one of the many friends of someone famous. I made a name for myself without anyone knowing who I am exactly.

And now they all know because of this photo that my ex sent to float down the rivers of hungry social media:

Damn am I gonna get an earful from my manager or what. It’s still rater early though and I’m really not about to deal with this drama on a caffeine-free brain so if there are any calls, emails or messages that need answering - and yes, there are PLENTY of them - they’ll all have to wait until I feel like dealing with them. I’m glad I don’t have to keep up this unbothered charade at home since I live alone cause I seriously don’t feel ok with this. I mean, I could probably report it, but what use would that be when my brand now has a face and a huge chunk of my privacy has already surfaced against my will.

As I sit in my kitchen, sipping my coffee, I finally gather the nerve to at least scroll through the notifications that I’ve received. Fans reaching out, relatives, friends, pissed off people that are there just to exist and try to disturb my peaceful existence but all they’re gonna get is a hard DELETE from me. I have offers on top of offers for modeling pending, waiting on my response. I’ve never considered it, being a faceless creator and all, but my manager will definitely want to milk some cash from this too. That thought makes me sigh in defeat. I have no one to blame but myself for trusting my ex. No one made me do it, no one made me let them in, but I still did, fucking myself over insanely. Just like they’ve now fucked me over.

Amongst the sea of notifications and yet to be opened messages, one in particular stands out and makes me do a double take. It’s a message from my friend Rae - Valkyrae, as she’s known online. She’s one of those gamer friends I mentioned earlier, probably the one I’m closest with. Her and I talk on the regular so seeing a message from her in my inbox is nothing unusual so I wonder why that was the one that stuck out to me. Regardless, that’s the only one I feel like opening and replying to at the moment.

V ~ Hey Y/N, you doing ok? This all must be really hard on you so don’t feel obligated to reply. Do so when you can or want to. I’m here if you wanna talk

Of course Rae would be the one to know how I truly feel in a situation like this. I can act and cover up all I want but she knows exactly what’s underneath the surface of my façade. That third eye friends have for each other, it’s incredible.

Me ~ Doing ok. Wasn’t expecting to wake up to this but now that millions of people know what I look like it feels oddly bittersweet, you know? Like I don’t have to go out of my way to hide anymore but I’m also gonna miss that privacy I had while I was a phantom

Me ~ On the upside: people want me to be a model now XD

My message goes to Seen almost write away, the Typing icon appearing shortly after the messages were read. I wait for Rae’s reply, sipping my slowly cooling coffee with little interest due to how invested I am in our conversation. If there’s a person who can make light of this situation, it’s Rae, no doubt about it.

V ~ I know what you mean. It’s not gonna be easy to adjust to but you will get used to it eventually. I’m sure you’ll even grow to like it. Promise you, it’s not that scary to be exposed, there’s literal millions of people who support you wholeheartedly :)

The epiphany strikes me as soon as Rae’s words sink in as I read them. She’s 100% right. The last thing I want is for my ex to think they’ve won. I refuse to give them the pleasure of tasting victory on the expense of my mental health and career progress. In fact, imma show them just how much they benefited me. But first...

Within seconds likes and comments start flowing in like a riptide, taking over my phone that, despite being charged all night, is already at half of its battery life.

I refresh the page with the post to look at the new comments that have come through, all supportive and complimenting me, some are real thirsty and some are incredibly kind. And even in that sea, her comment still sticks out to me, making me grin like an idiot.

Second of all, you absolute clowns want *so badly* for Darklinas to be a bunch of racist neo-nazis to justify your incessant harassment and stalking that you have to reach so far up your own ass to find new depths of of shitacular takes.

Third, the words "genocide", "oppressor", and "nazi" (yes, there's not an extra 't' in that word, child) have specific meanings that do not even remotely apply to the situation you are ascribing them to. You keep calling any fictional villain a "nazi" and any fictional killing a "genocide", or any person you don't like an "oppressor", and you'll give your freshman history teacher a headache from your clownery. This is also an extra layer of offensive considering the Grisha were based off of Jewish scientists literally fleeing genocide at the hands of the Nazis and the Darkling is the leader of a persecuted minority fighting to expand their rights in a fictional setting. In what fucking universe does that scream "fascism" to you? 🤡

You're acting as if the original source material was some bastion of leftist wisdom when it is literally another shoddily written YA book that contains canonically racist depictions of Asian and Romani people. The only reason they even racelifted the characters for the adaption was because of how painfully bland and white the original setting was. So don't come into my inbox and preach to me about how woke you are based on what you ship when I, as a queer woman of color, saw so much of my own identity and struggle for acceptance in Alina's grappling of her Grisha identity. The entire series is another example of a leftist revolutionary getting cast as the villain while the centrist heroes side with the right-wing monarchy to return the setting to the status quo-----like every other whitewashed history lesson of civil rights.

You think because they racelifted the characters, the adaption is somehow more racially sensitive, when arguably they added a coat of racism sauce to Alina's entire arc and muddled the moral landscape of the series even more. As POC, we are meant to map our experiences to Alina's journey of navigating this mostly-white world, but at the same time, we are told we can't map our experiences to the Grisha persecution, which mainly exists as background ~aesthetics~. Literally just imagine the Grisha characters as another real-world minority: what if only POC characters were Grisha? What if only queer characters had magical summoning powers? What if Shu!Alina magically became a white person at the end of the series?Do you see what a complete fucking mess the plot of the novel is?

Also, it's just hilarious that you just assumed I don't ship show!Mal with show!Alina because once they scrubbed book!Mal of his toxic sewage waste of a personality, I literally just added him to more ships: Mal x Alina, Mal x Zoya, Mal x Darkling, Mal x Alina x Darkling, the list goes on.

🧊 At your house the sleepover turns into a mukbang, you have Todoroki trying out every childhood snack and new snacks that are quite popular too. Thanks to you he’s obsessed with ring pops.

🔮 “You thought that was funny?” He raises a thin eyebrow at your confrontation.

🔮 “No, I thought it was hilarious.”

🔮 “I wished I had your quirk so I could’ve made you dunk your head in the popcorn.” The smirk on his face stretches wider as he wraps in arms around your frame and draws your frame closer to his chest. You could hear heart beating faster than normal.

🔮 “Don’t worry, it scared me a little too.”

🔮He would really like to wind down and be chill so if you allow it, he’ll smoke that banyan. But if you don’t like it, he’ll just take it easy.

🔮 Regardless, if you start a pillow fight, he’s going ham.

🔮 Turns into a fortnight battle and the throw pillows are used as ammunition.

🔮 He wins because HE CHEATED you somehow knocked down your fort and claimed defeat.

🔮 The night ends with you guys climbing on the roof, admiring the stars and trying to find different constellations and planets.

🔮 His head lays in your lap as you stroke his purple strands. His consciousness losing control by your soft movements, ready to fall asleep on the roof then and there.

🔮 You persuade his sleepy body back inside where he could actually get decent rest in the warmth of your lap.

This is what I don’t get. Like somehow separatists make it their business what straight women do, despite separatism being peak choice-feminism. You know that separatism will never catch on on a large scale, you know that it won’t even catch on with the majority of radical feminists. You know what it’s like to be attracted to someone, you know what it’s like to be in love, you know what it’s like to want to cohabitate and spend your life with someone. But somehow in your twisted little minds you’ve decided that if straight women focused on platonic friendships, that would replace the natural desire to have a romantic relationship. And if they don’t take your advice, then they’re just stupid and if they get hurt it’s their fault. When you get called out on your clear victim blaming and misogyny, you claim you’re “just trying to help” or “just sharing information” as if straight women (many of whom are involved in radical feminism in their communities, not just this hell site) are not aware of the statistics on male violence. Just let us fucking be. Support the women who need it. Educate the women who don’t know. But please fucking keep your patronizing advice to yourself when someone says “thank you, I know” or “I choose not to practice separatism.” Your choice to practice separatism does literally nothing to help women, it’s just a choice you make for *your own* personal relationships. If you’re a lesbian, it’s a no brainer, but don’t play fucking dumb like you don’t understand sexual or romantic attraction. If you’re straight and you’ve made that personal choice, I am glad that you have a fulfilling life with your friends/family. It is not your place to demand that sacrifice of other women. I want information on separatism to be easily available. I want the world to change so that separatism can be easily transitioned into and that any woman who wants to can do it. I also recognize that separatism is not “all or nothing” and that many of us who don’t practice political celibacy center women in our lives in different ways. Honestly I think there are more important things to focus on than separatism and all of the other stupid shit that we waste our time insulting each other over, like who fucks who, who can claim which labels, which pets are acceptable to own. Get a fucking grip. You’re in here just throwing the word racism/antisemitism at people for literally no reason (I’ve checked a few blogs accused of this, found nothing of the sort). Y’all. Calm the fuck down and let’s focus on sex trafficking and pornography. Let’s stop fighting and start organizing into political organizations. Imagine if all of this energy could be put into building community spaces, regional yearly events, flyers and zines we could leave around with radfem basics even, just to do something small that anyone can do. I get that it’s scary to air your politics to your communities, but it’s time to do it. I’m tired of hiding in the shadows and arguing about dumb unnecessary shit. If you’re worried about losing friends, they’re not your friends, they’re misogynists. If you’re worried about losing your job, do small direct actions or at least meet up with radfems socially just to keep yourself sane. We’re a varied group of people with many different skills, we should be out there putting them to use and using them to uplift women.
