when ur reading fanfic and one character was cooking and the other comes up to them and they start making out and everyones like starting to take their shirts off and the author STILL hasnt mentioned anyone turning off the stove
“The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that.
And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire’s authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege. Remember this. Try.”
I’m absolutely dying at John’s reaction to himself getting his throat sliced with his own shield by the Red Skull and knocked out for most of the mission is THIS RULED MORE PLS! 🤣😭
YESSSSSSSSSSS MANIFESTING ALL THE BEARDED JOHN WALKER ENERGY 🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️
Much more recently posted on a substack called Cleveland Prost (once again selling his brand). It was specifically mentioned he did this during a break he had during filming Thunderbolts:
I often see folks using Bucky’s line of “looking strong, John” to mock John and be this funny way to express their hate, but you know what, John does look strong.
Both him AND Lemar managed to hold their ground well enough against the Dora, who are probably the best trained non-super powered warriors on the planet. So what if John and Lemar got their asses kicked? The Dora could kick most of the heroes’ asses anyways, so that’s hardly something John and Lemar should be ashamed about.
So the haters can have their mocking, they can have their laugh at a beat down, John still held his ground, John still looks strong.
I still don’t think it’s talked about enough by fandom or the easter egg/breakdown channels how John’s comments about Steve links so well to his comics backstory — intentional callback to comics or not on the part of TFATWS writers, John saying that Steve made people feel safe, that he gave John hope, that he feels like a brother, it all connects so well to John’s comics childhood trauma.
A kid John imagined that Steve rescued him from a house fire, that Steve made him feel safe and gave him hope, and in reality it was John’s older brother Mike who saved him — so to a young John, his brother is like Steve, is like Captain America, his hero.
“He feels like a brother”
Because Steve feels like Mike.
Many people view that line as somehow a negative insult to Bucky and Steve’s bond but never consider that to MCU John it might mean something else deeply personal just like it would to Comics John, that the comment is not meant in offense or to hurt someone or diminish Bucky and Steve’s bond, but just to express how John himself connects to what Steve means and represents.
