Good morning what are the movies or tv shows that traumatized you as a kid mine are the BBC production of A Christmas Carol and a handful of David Suchet Poirot episodes

#my dad always thought if something was well done it was appropriate for children #so we never watched the silly little kid version of things. The muppet Christmas Carol? My dad would N E V E R #anyway a Christmas Carol ruined Christmas for me for YEARS #i hated to think about it #and poirot was just. traumatizing #there’s one called murder on the links which involved a golf course at night which is one of the most terrifying locations I can imagine #also there’s one called death in the clouds #and poirot uncovers the murder because there are two spoons on the dead lady’s tray of airplane food #and the way he says ‘he picks up a spoon giving him the task of a waiter to carry out’ #when explaining the murder at the end to this DAY sends chills up my spine #I know this is very obvious but the thing about fear is that it isn’t about logic or reason but it is about revelation #it’s like the flip side of moments of good and happy insight #at least for me #what terrifies me is a moment where some kind of evil is revealed in a blinding FLASH #a motive or (I guess) a ghost #and there is this presence of some malevolent entity underneath the reality of things #and something about it being SEEN almost more than it existing #is so scary. Like I. #Poirot uncovering the murder and describing it with such studied fascinated careful attention #pulling back the layers of a blind of one kind or another #shakes me to. my. I have this headcanon about berserker Karlach where she simply loses control of her rage.

(It’s based on a type of berserker rage that exists in DND and my own OC’s canon)

Kinda like her moment after defeating the paladins of Tyr - but worse. Much worse and chaotic, more violent and less aware.

I keep thinking what if she went berserk like that during the blood war - pure blind carnage, no consciousness? It could happen sometimes after she consumes a soul coin, when she has a close call, and, bam - she goes NUTS. She slashes through enemies and allies and anything in her way. Until she drops down, having quite literally run out of fuel.

What if one day Astarion is in a very bad situation, suffering or close to death - or she thinks he’s been killed? What if, even without a soul coin, she just loses it?

Her eyes aflame - when she screams you can see the glow of hellfire inside her throat. She turns into something TERRIFYING. It’s like seeing the true Demonsbane of the Blood War right there in the Sword Coast. It’d catch her unexpectedly. The sight of something so overpowered unleashed would seem horrifying for those looking.

It would then become clear why Zariel put her in the frontlines.

I assume once she’s done with raging (someone might have to incapacitate her just to make her stop), she takes all damage and pain at once, collapses unconscious and burning from the inside for days. She’s not supposed to burn so hot outside of Avernus.

Even in Avernus, going berserk like this would put her out of commission for s while, and she’d need repairs. Even if she could predict or control it, raging like that should be unnecessary outside of the Blood War. So when it happens in Faerun, it’s sort of a stunning thing to behold.

If there's one trope i have a hard time imagining oikawa tooru being in, its best friend to lovers 🤔🤔

LIKE??? I always imagine tooru being the type who would never think of his best friend as anything more once he established that they're his best friend???

He would sometimes (a lot of times actually-) jokingly flirt with you but even then those are strictly platonic. People would see the both of you and think, ah yes, oikawa being annoying, nothing new there.

But just because i said i have a hard time imagining it, doesn't mean i hate it nor i can't imagine it at all. Quite the opposite actually. I find tooru in this trope to be quite fascinating.

Oikawa Tooru, who has been friends with you for god knows how long. The one who has been by your side through your every ups and downs, comforting you when you're sad, sharing your happy moments together, cheering you up to get your minds off of things that upset you.

So not sure if it was asked before (my apologies if so) but after rereading Faking it I’ve been wondering if what happened to Ford would have happened to Dipper if they were to switch places. Like you mentioned in the fic how Dipper realizes that the main advantage he had and the reason he wasn’t tricked by Bill is that he, as opposed to Ford, knew that Bill was a demon from the beginning. So my question is would Dipper be able to see through the flattery and lies quickly enough on his own or it would be a case of pure luck as it was with Stanford?

Ford and Dipper are both intelligent. They're both ambitious and clever! But Ford's... a little more full of himself, and less emotionally intelligent. He saw Bill's arrival into his life, took his pleasant polite demeanor at face value, coveted the power and intelligence and thought: Great! This is amazing! With this creature working by my side, I can do amazing things!

Dipper in the same situation would think: Great! This is amazing! ....wait a minute. 'Great' stuff never happens out of nowhere, or at least not for free. What's the catch?

Where Ford's ambition shows him vast opportunity, Dipper's cynical nature outlines all the possible traps. Even if there aren't any there! He'd be much more of a skeptic when it came to great stuff just. Being handed to him.

Overall, Bill could have fooled Dipper - but he would've had a harder time of it.
