The Discourse
So, Resetera's completely blacklisted Hogwarts Legacy from its allowed forum discussion topics, assuming that any discussion of the game is inextricable from Rowling's sociopolitical stances. However, they've also encouraged people to donate the cost of the game to their local trans charities and support orgs.
Two things:
I wholeheartedly applaud the second decision. If anyone wants a more active contribution to LGBTQA rights, being reminded of available assistive bodies and orgs is a great way to kick things off. I'd even contend that if you're fine with tossing sixty or seventy bucks their way, I'd up the ante to a bigger number. Make it a hundred, and maybe cumulative effects will allow volunteers to transition (heh) into full-time employees.
Snuffing out the discourse, however, is an empty gesture. They've taken a stance, sure, but nothing's stopping the regular Potterheads from finding another platform to discuss the game on. A simple blanket statement would've sufficed - let the fans handle the moral weight of their acknowledgement or rejection of the game on their own. We can assume most of those involved are adults, at this point.

Hey you know what's super funny about the idea of "good bi rep"?
For a character to be canonically bi you have to make sure and establish that they're attracted to multiple genders. Not all mediums allow you to get inside every character's head or show what they're thinking. Flirting can be read ambiguously, and god forbid they flirt with a character who's not into them and be read as pushy or predatory. So it can be super handy to just mention an ex or two! But you better not mention too many exes because that would make them a slutty bisexual which is (checks notes) bad, and you definitely better be careful about making them poly, because that might make them, uh... greedy. Oh, and those exes? They better be perfectly amiable breakups with no conflict or drama, because it's bad to represent queer people in toxic or abusive relationships (especially queer women! very bad), and you definitely can't have them have lost a partner if the partner was queer because that's "bury your gays..." You should probably also eliminate all trauma from their backstory, just to be safe. You should probably also make sure they're not involved in crime, deception, or anything of the sort, because that would make them "deviant" and a stereotype.
But don't worry! Once you've carefully crafted your nice, monogamous, experienced-but-not-too-experienced Lawful Good bi character, you will be rewarded with your audience deeming them "boring" and quickly passing them over for other characters. :)

Hello! I would like to know why you support Palestine over Israel especially since Israel gives equal rights and freedom to LGBTQA++ people and women.
I don't know anon, my home country Malaysia doesn't legally support LGBTQA+ people and discriminates against women too... The logic / gotcha you're trying to imply from your question falls apart for anyone who lives in a socially conservative country (which is the majority of the world btw). Do you also agree the lives and rights of myself, other queer Malaysians and other Malaysians have less value objectively and in a conflict, should be killed indiscriminately because our country is LGBTQA+ intolerant? Yes or no? Get off anon and tell me to my face right now. The lives and safety of civilian people and children are unconditional. Just because a country has a better position on some social rights doesn't mean it is absolved or excused from performing war crimes and other human right violations. See: the US, UK, Australia etc. Folks are free to call out those wrongs whenever they occur. If your sense of justice, empathy and compassion is dependent on zero sum games and conditionality and no nuance, then you're not practising justice, empathy or compassion, but total arrogance and regressiveness. There is no argument to be had here.

There are more LGBTQA+ people nowadays than there were before, but it has nothing to do with it being a "trend" or being a "choice" like homophobes/transphobes convince themselves, it's literally because of population.
In 1950 there was 2.5 Billion people in world population, we just hit 8 Billion. There's literally more of EVERYBODY now than ever because there's never been this drastic of a spike in population before.
So yes, there are more of us, but it's because of population, not because we're following some "trend".
Your child is actually non-binary.
Your child is actually asexual.
Your child is actually queer.
The easiest thing in the world should be loving and accepting your child.

Don't mind me, I'm just thinking about Douglas "Cash" Piggott - the asexual eshay at Hartley High School that does not care about sex in the slightest, and is even slightly repulsed and confused by it - sitting through weeks and weeks of SLT classes, learning about things that do not interest him at all and will not benefit him in the slightest all because he likes looking at Darren's face.
That's the sweetest thing I've ever heard.
And, yes, I know he was forced into SLT with his fellow "map bitch" victims but I still think it's nice that he attended and still listened to what was being taught. Because I, a fellow asexual person, sure as hell wouldn't have been comfortable covering those topics.

Rewatching Red, White and Royal Blue, realizing how much I desperately need more Queer films like this.
Because despite the changes from the book this is such a good Queer romcom and I need more of this, hopefully we do get a sequel, maybe based more on the extra chapter from Henry's POV.

Fuck the cishet 'default' for characters. ALL my characters are Nonbinary and Aroace by default until I state otherwise. No exceptions. And if one of my characters turns out to be cishet after all, I don't want to see people complaining.
Once I get my projects done and people are wondering what gender and/or orentation a character is, you can refer to this post as proof for a cannon Nonbinary and Aroace identity.
Why Nonbinary and Aroace? Because I'm those things! Those are my normal! My default for the self that is me and thus now the self that my characters will be to.
I will not let bigotry people control the identity of my creations. And if one day I end up working for a big company where my characters are used in media (I sure hope that doesn't happen) you can refer to this very post as irrefutable proof. You could always just ask me too.
