⟡ first thing's first: i think that em's teammates, or even just em's friends in general, would be a little taken aback at first.

⟡ they didn't expect something from you, but what they really didn't expect was for you to be this girly. ⟡ not that it's a bad thing! really not. ⟡ it's just that your perfectly manicured hands, your neatly done slick-back ponytail, your pink nike suit that em's gifted you and rose gold jewellery, took them off guard.

and like obviously this is factually wrong - “homosexual rights” happens primarily through de-pathologising homosexuality, quite literally an effort to redefine sexuality and sexual activity, which was commonly followed by a legal redefinition of marriage in many states as not only being between a man and a woman, and parenthood as not being strictly done by a mother & father - that’s redefining gender categories! Gender doesn’t exist as a repressive force independent of political & legal institutions. Universal paternity leave is a redefinition of gendered reproductive labour through employment and labour policy, it is a structural economic benefit that incentivises fathers to participate in child rearing. This is a (limited, partial) redefinition of what it “means” to be a man, just as gay marriage is a redefinition of what it means to be a husband or wife, just as allowing gays to adopt is a redefinition of motherhood and fatherhood.

And this denial of being in an “ideological cult” is also intentionally downplaying the massive homophobic outcry that gays were/are in fact trying to destroy the meaning of family and marriage - that gay marriage would let you marry your dog, that gay parents are all pedophiles, that even expanding the definition of the nuclear family to include cis gays would threaten to destroy all categories of familial and civic life. Denying that gay rights are not viewed as an “ideological cult” of their own is laughably homophobic.

Taking this argument to its natural conclusion - that cis gays just want to be “left alone,” they aren’t here to “redefine” anything unlike the transsexuals - means a comprehensive denial of the law as an institution that produces patriarchal and gendered violence, that societal conceptions of gender (and the oppression produced by those conceptions) are unaffected by legal redefinitions of family and marriage. An absurd claim! This argument denies patriarchy as a social force, assigning it instead to this mystical abstract force that exists “out there” in nature, unable to be punctured or altered by any social response. Like tbh if you believe that why even fight for gay marriage at all? Just accept your lot in life as broken men and women with a mental disorder that makes you incapable of raising a family.

But of course they don’t actually really believe this, they know what side their bread is buttered on. Cis gays got themselves removed from the ICD and DSM, got gay marriage legalised in a bunch of countries (the tweet’s exclusive use of past tense when talking about gay rights implies the fight for gay equality is finished, an obviously self-centred western & homophobic argument) and said fuck you got mine! The king granted us entrance into his castle unlike you freaks, all we ever wanted was a seat at his table. Liberation is not the goal, cis gays just want to be permitted equal access to the power of cisheterosexual society. This tweet is arguing that gender is not a relevant mechanism in the oppression of homosexuals, that their oppression is altogether something else, unrelated to ideas of what it means to be a woman or man, because they want access to the violence those categories produce. Destroying these categories makes this goal unattainable for them, and so now cis gays are continuing to pivot to reactionary opposition to trans rights. But don’t take my word for it - I’m just repeating what this guy’s saying!

"Petals of love" - Blade as your boyfriend Part 2

Blade x malereader, fluff, soulmate au; requested, Part 1; sorry for the wait but med uni is terrifying sometimes. and thanksss again, that made my day. Hopes its acceptable

Mornings:

In normal work days, when you don't have time to fool around in the shine of a rising sun, you both wake up pretty early.

Blade is an early bird which unfortunately affects you too. He involuntary gets up around 5/6 a.m.

And compared to you, he looks brand-new.

But even when you are sleepy, can hardly open your eyes and all you dream about is to just cuddle into your boyfriend's warm body for a few more hours, Blade shows no mercy.

With a swift motion he gets up from your bed, puts on a nearby shirt, which was hanging on a chair just a minute ago and in a firm voice announces you that it's time to wake up.

Maybe the reason why Blade is so strict is because he's afraid that he'll actually succumb to you and won't get out of your grasp till noon.

And he has a goal. A clearly stated goal. To work hard and successfully complete missions. As many as possible.

And to achieve this, you both need to put yourself together. The earlier the better.

Before just leaving the room, he sticks his finger between your ribs and tells you to not delay.

Still, Blade realizes that your habits are quite different from his. And although he pretends to be demanding, he secretly gives you some blissful extra minutes of sleep. Going to the shared kitchen firstly and leaving you alone.

While you are enjoying your last moments in a soft bed he is already preparing your morning coffee. Black. Strong. This kind that a true warrior should drink. Blade wouldn't allow you to show any weakness.

Or at least that's an official version. When Kafka and Silver aren't looking, he secretly adds a little milk or a pinch of sugar. If that's your preferred version, of course.

When you finally manage to join him, he is already waiting for you with a mug of steaming from heat drink.

By rubbing your eyes you try to fight off last signs of sleepiness.

Thanking, with one hand you receive a gift and with other you grab Blade by waist.

He involuntarily turns his cheek towards you. In order for you to lean over his smaller form and kiss him for a greeting as usual.

Later, when Blade is satisfied, you just lean against the stone countertop.

Your lack of shirt and low-rise sweatpants allow its cold to scratch your back unpleasantly.

You ignore it, however, and ask what your boyfriend is in the mood for.

In this relationship, you are the one responsible for rational eating. If it weren't for you, your "silly" boyfriend would have set off to fight monsters without a breakfast.

And it is obviously impossible to conquer world on an empty stomach.

When he is/you are sick

In this relationship, it is mainly you who take care of his health and try to introduce his life to healthy habits.

Blade is a big and smart boy. He knows that he has to take care of himself if he wants to perform well. But unfortunately, he often forgets that. Or sometimes, worse. He thinks that he deserves a little more pain and suffering.

Hearing this makes you want to punch him for the mere thought of such a thing, and everyone else who in the past led to his present state.

However, you know that currently you can't do anything about it. So you act here and now, by looking after his health and well-being for him.

When he is sick, you literally have to keep him in bed by force. So he doesn't run off to train. And even though he is wrecked by fever, Blade in his “weakened” state is still very strong. After giving him pills and plenty of water, you end up locking him in a tight hug.

Then you sleep for hours. Cuddled together in a bed. Blade is covered with extra thick layers of fluffy duvet to warm up his body.

You stay awake the whole time, never letting him out of your sight. And every now and then you sooth his burning forehead with kisses.

Meanwhile, when you get sick… Blade becomes oddly protective and possessive. He doesn't let anyone into your bedroom. Only he can take care of you, and only he knows how to do it. He prepares cold bandages for you. And what's even more shocking, cooks a ramen. You wouldn't suspect him of having a great culinary talent. But you've never eaten anything better in your life. Maybe because you know it was made by your lover. Or maybe it's because Blade really put an effort into preparing it.

If that weren't enough, Blade demands for you to sit still while he feeds you with his soup. Cooling each spoon beforehand.

What he does for you/Massages

During training, Blade doesn't give you a break. So he can understand when you're tired and everything hurts you afterwards.

He is already used to them, he even likes it at some point. By them he feels alive.

You, however, are something else. He knows it.

Blade has only you. You are the only one that really matters to him. So he has to take care of you.

It is for these reasons why after every difficult training or mission, Blade offers you a massage. Whether it's your back, shoulders or ankles. He always does it in silence and great concentration, with hidden love and great care.

To do this, he uses his own handmade oil. Made from rose petals.

He dips his soft, bony hands into an oily liquid and kneads your sore body in a slow, steady motion. Towards the end, he gently brushes and strokes your skin to prolong your pleasure. Silently thanking himself for protecting his hands under bandages and gloves every day. Thanks to that, despite his constant weapon gripping, his fingertips aren't rough.

When he wears your clothes

Apparently, this is something that couples do. It is also said that your partner looks adorable in your clothes, especially when they are too loose for him. When your shirt reaches halfway down his thighs, almost resembling a dress.

Blade doesn't understand this idea. It's weird, strange.

What's more, Blade doesn't feel the need to “steal” your clothes because he just doesn't like your style. Not that he doesn't find it good-looking. Indeed, you look attractive in things you wear. (from an objective point of view, of course. Blade would never get fooled by your handsome face)

Despite this, however, Blade is a very simple man. That's why, when his part of closet is in a laundry, he suddenly needs to throw something on himself and in his reach he has only your dark sweatshirt or blood maroon shirt, he doesn't think twice.

Second option greatly highlights his good features and depth of eyes. It's really hard for you keep still.

If we are already on subject of clothes... Quick mention about matching clothes. You know Blade enough to know that there is nothing more stupid than suggesting this idea to him. You prefer to keep remnants of dignity in his eyes. You're also no longer a teenager to get excited by such things. But this cultural tradition in some parts of world captivates you. And you want to mark your possessiveness a bit. That's why you've changed the color theme of your closet to match your other half. Dark, black colors with ruby and emerald accents.

Blade never pays attention to this. But Kafka, seeing this, smiles softly to herself.

How he calls you/nicknames

It's probably obvious that Blade wouldn't use any adorable nicknames in a relationship.

The only thing that you can hope for is your name and in the future... maybe a straight "fiance" or "husband".

You can use whatever you simply prefer at a time. As long as it's not "too cute". For "honey bun" and names like that you could expect a dagger in your guts.

You often use a classic "babe" "love" orrr... "hubby".

Holidays and valentine

Blade isn't a person who would celebrate any holidays, especially commercial ones. Sure, he may show respect to deceased ancestors or something like that. But he's not going to decorate a Christmas tree with you, start baking gingerbread houses, light lanterns, or give you any gifts related to valentines day. He's just not the type. Besides, Blade has no time for that.

You respect that. But on such days, you still give him some small gift straight from a heart.

When he has a nightmare

Unfortunately, this happens pretty often. Blade can't get any sleep at night. He regularly gets up even before sunrise, and goes to bed around midnight, if not later. You tried to change that, but no matter what you did it was completely pointless.

Even when you went to bed earlier together, Blade couldn't fall asleep. Despite your "magical" embrace, nothing helped at those moments.

Maybe it was the darkness. Thought about what lurks in the shadows. Past and future. All of Blade's victims. These whose lives he took. And these who were preparing a revenge.

Threat not only to him alone, but to you as well.

Memories wouldn't let him shut his eyes. And even when he finally did manage to fall asleep, he would wake up screaming during the night.

Blade would rise rapidly to a sitting position. And worried you, did exactly the same.

He was breathing heavily. His forehead was covered in sweat. He stared dully at the wall in front of him. As if seeing something in it that you couldn't.

His suffering was killing you. But all you could do at such moments was whisper to him quietly, "Everything will be fine. I'm here. You are not alone. I will never leave you. You are safe with me" and make a slow circles on his back, waiting until his breathing would normalize.

Such situations happened quite often. Especially at the beginning of your relationship. Over time, however, they were less and less frequent.

Presence of a soulmate nearby, healed Blade's wounds slowly.

When you ignore him

Don't. Even. Think. About it. That would make him feel so uneasy. He would start doubting himself. And the idea of him being not enough for you could break him.

You know in fact how fragile his ego is. So even in the hardest moments, when you're fed up or tired, you remember to give him at least a little attention.

His way of being clingy

This definitely doesn't happen often. Especially in Blade's case. But there are times when he seeks your attention. He misses the warmth of another person. Especially after being left thirsty for many years. And soulmate bond also does its job.

At such moments Blade doesn't leave your side. When you get up from a couch he gets up with you. When you go to the kitchen he goes with you. You don't even have a second for yourself. He is like a shadow. He is able to follow you even to the bathroom. It's a good thing that after a years of relationship, a shower in his company is no more a problem for you.

Blade doesn't say anything, doesn't touch you and doesn't take the lead.

He just takes a seat next to you and waits for you to finally figure it out. Embrace him or put a hand on his thigh. Only then does he feel satisfied and stops " following" you.

In heath of a fight

This was one of those missions when Blade just had to do everything on his own way.

He made plan in his head and just had to fulfil it.

Of course, without consulting you beforehand, or even notifying.

Seeing a threat surrounding Blade from all sides, you were beyond panicked. You started screaming. That he should stop. That he should look out.

You even begged for a signal to retreat.

However, Blade in heat of a battle turned completely deaf to this. Only when he felt a piercing pain in his chest only then he stopped.

He came to his senses. Pushed back opponents that were rushing at him and hurriedly looked at his body. Aside from a blood of his enemies and standard "minor" injuries, he saw nothing suspicious there. At least not a huge hole in his heart which he had just felt.

Urged by a sudden realization, he looked around. And to his horror, he saw something that he definitely didn't want to see. You, protecting his back.

But you were supposed to stay behind. And not take part in it. That precisely how his plan sounded. That way he wouldn't have to constantly look for you and control safety of his other half. By that, he could completely lose himself into a fight and use his 100%. Spreading a total destruction.

However, it didn't occur to him that such turn of events would put him in a great danger.

As it was proven by your arm, pierced straight through.

It was only by this sight that the seriousness of your situation hit him. And he immediately took you out from that massacre you both were in.

You found shelter in some warehouse. Somewhere behind a pile of boxes.

You were sitting on the ground, resting your head heavily against a cold concrete wall. While Blade was between your legs, hugging you tightly. Or rather, you were the one squeezing him with all your strength. Making sure he was all right.

Blade didn't realize it, but if it hadn't been for you, just a few minutes ago, he would now be lying on a battlefield having wounds on all sides. You really had to work hard to prevent anything more serious from happening to him. Your hot-headed boy, definitely miscalculated the backup that came to support your enemies.

You didn't say anything. You didn't even have a strength to argue with him or point out stupidity of his plan. It was pointless. Anyway, you were just happy that he was right there with you. Safe.

You couldn't stop thinking, however, about this possibility that something bad could happen to him. That if you had reacted even a few seconds later. That if it hadn't been for your arm. Blade might have just had his lungs stabbed through… That drove you to pure convulsions.

-Can you… stop? - Blade asked somewhat unsurely but still in scolding voice.

And you turned your gaze to him, filled with confusion.

-I can feel your stress in my chest an it's… not comfotable at all - this time he said that far more confident and sharp.

You, after a moment of realization, laughed lightly. You forgot that some strong emotions can really effect your soulmate.

-I'm right there with you and I'm perfectly fine so stop worrying about me. Better worry about yourself. You are the one with a big hole here.

-I'm sorry love, I'm just really glad that you are safe - you said kissing him on a forehead.

He only blushed slightly and snuggled more into a crook of your neck.

He truly felt safe.

a mickey milkovich + physical affection in s11 meta/analysis

Mickey Milkovich went from flinching away any time Ian tried to touch him in a non-sexual setting to accepting physical acts of love and affection even when it’s difficult for him to do so. andddd i wanna talk about it when it is most difficult and why!

I do think that the writers did an good job at portraying the difference in the moments in which he would accept the physical touch with a smile and when it was more difficult for him to do so. (ps me saying that the writers did like anything good in s11 is a rare occurrence)

Season four is when we really begin to see the beginning of that shift into accepting it from Ian. Season five we see that he has gotten more comfortable in receiving as well as giving, especially in times of distress regarding Ian. The next time we see them as a fully functioning couple, there are definitely times in which Mickey was hesitant to accept it but only in times when he felt vulnerable and exposed.

I am going to focus on the later season here as that is when we see Mickey begin to actually address the situation with his father. For example, 11x12 when he had just revealed a genuine fear of his that branches from the abuse he faced in childhood, he flinches at/recoils at Ian’s attempt to comfort him. However, later in the episode, he accepts these joyful acts of affection from Ian because it is something he is no longer ashamed of. He does not shy away from physical affection when it comes from a place of being open and in love with Ian anymore at this point in his life.

I think that this shows that although Mickey has become comfortable and unapologetic in his sexual identity, he has not made those strides in other areas of his life. He still feels this grave shame regarding his father and the abuse he faced. He thinks it makes him weak and has trouble admitting that it is something that has impacted him to this day. Although, Ian obviously sees straight through this facade.

It is also shown in 11x06 when Mickey accepts help from Ian in getting Terry up the steps. Ian stops him, holding his head and reassuring that he is nothing like Terry. Mickey struggles to even look Ian in the eye at this time, the vulnerability so overwhelming. It is so interesting how tends to resent any affection during times regarding that part of his life that he has never fully healed from. It is also incredible to see how Ian knows exactly how to deal with him in those situations. He knows what Mickey needs, offering small acts of affection in those times until the finale. It is as if Ian was holding in this urge to embrace him, so he finally gives in and forces Mickey into the hug, knowing it is what he needed once Mickey stops resisting almost immediately.

anyways, I think that mickey milkovich has done such a long way in accepting love from ian and being proud of who he is in that way. and i also think that he still had such a long way to come in terms of healing those others parts of himself and ian will be there the whole time and im so proud of him and he’s so proud of him. anddd enjoy these pics of them being happy and in love!

Lonely Little Ember

Just a short fic of Lucifer's reaction after hearing Isa's backstory :3 Apolgies for my bad English.

The silence that followed was deafening, unlike the pounding of his heart being twisted out his chest. Lucifer could barely muster a steady intake of breath as Isabella finishes recounting her past. The words that carried her background weighed overbearingly heavy. So heavy that he wondered how she didn't crumble from the weight of it all.

He could feel his throat close with a lump of emotions stuck in it when he sees the distant, downcasted eyes she bore at the moment. Her amber orbs empty and hollow, like the porcelain doll she described as her mother.

A mix of emotions swirled inside Lucifer, sadness and fury being the most apparent and he had to curl his fingers to keep himself grounded.

"Damn them." He thinks, enraged that was fueled by sorrow.

Damn her mother for never seeing the daughter she could be. Damn her father for treating her like a parcel to be shipped with the tag of her family name. Damn the rebels who forced her to watch her team burn in the searing embrace of the forest fire. Damn the enemies who had marred her skin with scars that rendered her nerves numb and unfeeling. Damn them all for hurting her before he came to love her yet.

So much pain lumped into one sentient spirit. Was it such a crime for her to ask of a family that would stay and accept her? To crave love? To crave belonging?

He knew what it felt like to lose a battle against something so obviously stronger. He knows of the regrets that wrapped around his heart and mind like a thorned vine. The self-blame that chained his limbs and withdraws his outstretched hands for help. He knows it so well because it's self-punishment.

And he felt helpless when he saw his lover in the same spotlight he is shining in. He felt anguish in greater heights when he saw himself in the reflection of her faraway gaze.

The worse of such comparison was at the very least, he still had his brothers. Still had some to support him during his darkest moments and fell along with him as he loses his grace and acceptance from the heavens above.

But what about her? What of the nothing she was birthed in and ended up with?

No. He'll change that. He'll be the one to challenge her lonely fate.

Lucifer tugs at her arms, feeling the uneven skin beneath his ungloved fingertips as he pulls her into a protective hold. His brows knit together with tightly closed lids, emotions getting the better of him and throwing his pride out of the window.

"I promise you.." He whispers, his fingers carding through her brown locks and dyed crimson tips while his free arm rubs against her bare back, his palms grazing over the burn that mapped the entirety of her skin behind her with a touch that was afraid he'd break a fragile glass.

"I'll never allow another fire burn you down again."

Could you do a reading on if Min Heejin is actually going to step down from her position at Hybe? I mean she’s been such an integral part of New Jeans success but she also seems to have been really shady with Hybe (leaking other Hybe artists personal information, leaking confidential contracts in order to convince Hybe to sell its shares of Ador) and I can’t see Hybe being forgiving with her.

If she does step down from Hybe, what will she do next in her career?

And also could you take a look at how New Jeans’ career will be affected by this, if she does step step down and leave Ador ? They will still have their signature producers so that’s a plus but min heejin was certainly a big reason for new jeans success and I wonder is they can keep that up if she is replaced by somebody else.

If she stays, it's because one of the parties gave up, took the L and accepted a shitty deal, as it was either that or losing everything. They will be forced to consider the long-term, and might just decide this just isn't a battle worth fighting for right now. On the other hand, if MHJ leaves, it was because she saw herself trapped, without options, and had to accept the defeat. They're going against her with everything they have, and there's like a thousand men vs MJH in my head - which could be literal, and likely is to a certain extent, but may also just be how she's feeling. Based on these cards, the odds are leaning more towards her leaving, but it could still change, obviously…

So… hybe could (allegedly) end up blacklisting her from the industry altogether, or attempt to. Either way, if she steps down by own her decision or not, she's going focus all of her future efforts on exposing and bringing down those who caused this, and everyone she thinks wronged her. She might even consider establishing a new company and debuting a new gg to prove them that NJ's success was all her doing and not the fact that they were under Hybe, but I don't think that's the smartest idea ever. It's not gonna help anybody.

Oh, if MJH leaves, whoever comes next (mtl a man, as we have the King of Swords here) is going to change a lot of things about the group, specially their sound and concept, but also promos, collabs, etc. I don't think they're going to completely erase their identity, but for sure get rid of all of the more childish, cartoonish stuff (and i'm soo sorry for saying it like that, but that's how I heard it 💀). As they do, people who stayed away + disliked NJ because of those things, will gain a new interest for them, and that's going to bring them even more attention and success. Even the fans that liked this stuff won't mind the change, I feel like, and neither will the girls. And I also heard "That's going to prove MHJ wrong", so... yeah.

I never let myself really believe they'd bring Tech back (because Occam's razor, or whatever). And I'm so used to weird/bad writing choices from other works that I'm mostly able to shrug my shoulders and go "aw rats, disappointment again :\" about TBB's ending.

... But I still feel kinda hollowed-out, post-finale. I'm not autistic (I think), but my sibling is, so it meant something to my old withered heart that a Star Wars show about family would have a confirmedly-ND character among their cast (though, somewhat tangentially, I agree with your post about all of the Bad Batch being arguably ND-coded). I was delighted that he was well-written, and that he'd eclipsed the stock "smart guy" trope he'd started out as in TCW.

And, I dunno. I feel like a sucker, having hoped for a brief moment that the writers wouldn't throw all that away. And for what? People on reddit were saying for months on end that "his sacrifice is meaningful and shouldn't be wasted", but I can't agree. I think it would've been more meaningful had he lived.

I feel disappointed with the trajectory the back half of S3 took, and I don't think that's unreasonable. Even beyond the disappointment of "dang, they really did that?", S3 after the first handful of eps (imo) felt kind of... rushed? Underexplored? Like there should've been a season 4 (for pacing/development's sake) and various changes to the plot, but there weren't.

Told myself several years ago that I'd reserve judgment for the writing until the series was over and done with. And now that it's all just wrapped up, I suppose I'm stewing with my thoughts, a little. The character arcs all feel like they fell short of their potential payoff, to me -- and maybe I'll change my mind in a few months, but right now? Eh.

Crosshair's got PTSD/trauma that makes his hand shake? Cut off the hand. Omega's got potential force sensitivity/a decision to make concerning what to do going forward? Who cares about that. Tech's getting a decent (and suspicious, in hindsight) amount of character development? Better kill him off so the audience really feels the sting. Cid, Phee, CX-2, Echo, Scorch? Who cares about them; they can show up when their skills are needed and fuck off without halfway-decent closure when they aren't. The familial/sibling themes that were open to being explored? Eh; let's focus predominantly on this one father-child bond. Omega doesn't even need to say goodbye to Crosshair and Wrecker, lol. Foreshadowing and setup? What foreshadowing and setup.

There's just a lot that was set up that never came to fruition and it's frustrating when the show has been so good up until that point. And the thing is that Tech being CX-2 would have resolved at least some of it! The CX-2 plot obviously but also, Crosshair's guilt and trauma being helped by being able to fix at least one of his mistakes? Omega's guilt over putting her family in danger being relieved because she finally has them all back?

It didn't even need to be fleshed out, I wouldn't have cared. The only thing I wanted this whole show was the family to be together and complete. And not only did we not get Tech back but yeah Echo was basically just not counted as part of that and Phee was ignored in the end.

This season feels like it needed another editing pass to work as a whole, even though I'd liked everything up to the finale it didn't really end up coming together for me. I'd even have accepted Tech being gone if they had put actual mourning in the first half, instead of stringing it along with little mentions and the CX-2 stuff. I'd be frustrated and mad, but at least it would have felt like they respected him as a character.

Really the only good things I have to say is I think Nala Se blowing up the databanks was a fantastic end to her character that didn't really redeem everything she's done but did bring her to an interesting stopping point. And I am glad everyone else made it out alive. I'm glad that Crosshair especially did after everything he's been through, he's still my boy after all this time even if the Tech stuff has overshadowed a lot of his growth in my head.
