Like, sorry, but if your 10-year-old cousin repeatedly refuses to let you in the house for incomprehensible reasons, that should send up warning bells. Especially when you know that his father is super fucking weird and embarrassing enough that every Shadowhunter family knows of his bad reputation enough to relentlessly bully that child at school. Moreso when you have personally have had emotionally stunted reactions with that man. As the adult in the room, he had a duty.

Also, let's say that you're privy to information about a child who has done something that sabotaged their mental health. Let's say that 15-year-old is sobbing in front of you. You don't snap at them that they should "find whatever comfort they can" and just. Not tell any other adults to be on alert to make sure that child is alright. It doesn't matter that he wants to keep it a secret, sorry. He's 15 and you could have prevented "destroying his soul by inches." It doesn't need to be his parents! Tell Will! Be a person, bro!

And this isn't even to speak yet of what's imo his worst failure. Who leaves a begging 16 year old in a dungeon, mere feet away from the woman who bought her? The woman who placed a horrific enchantment on her without her consent, hit her, pimped her out, and also uhhhh has been going batshit crazy and killing people for months? Like, "aw, no, you're overreacting in wanting to be moved to a new location! It's all good" and then. Then she gets kidnapped by this batshit crazy woman. And he's like "huh. Wow. Can't believe that went wrong" Grace sweetie you deserved better
