bitter/sweet— James Potter x fem!reader
angst (I guess?).
A/n: my first thing ever and it's shitty but I hope someone reads it and probably likes it. xoxo
if you said you're not jealous you would be lying and if there's something you're not is a liar. But it is hard admitting that your blood is now boiling in pure anger.
what is James doing talking like that to another girl- not just another girl; Lily fucking Evans. why is she laughing like that? and why is he so enchanted with her stupid smile?
you thought you had no right on being jealous for him, he is clearly not yours. you have made that really clear to him a million times. every time he kissed you with a little too much love, or when he acted like your boyfriend, you basically always told him to fuck off. oh but now you felt the need to punch yourself for every time you said something like that.
you and James were in some kind of situationship. you went to each other every time one of you needed to get distracted, for you the only rule was to not get attached romantically but he didn't cared about that, so it didn't took long for him to be starved for you. And sadly to you, he eventually wanted more of you, things you never actually felt ready for.
now it's been three weeks since you called it off and he seemed to be so over you it physically wounded you. laughing at the redhead comments, smiling charmingly at her while you watched from the other side of the room. your friends talking to you about something trivial that you couldn't pay attention to, you were busy watching the pair.
after a while she went away, she said she was going for a drink for them and offered everyone else something. it was hard to hate Lily, she was so sweet and caring, but the fact that James looked at her so lovingly made you sick.
when James catched your gaze, you send him that look he knew so well, the one he couldn't help but love. he followed you instantly when you got out of the Gryffindor common room finding you standing a little far from the door, already waiting for him.
"y/n..." he started but you interrupted him immediately.
"you like Evans now, huh?"
"what?"
you looked hurt, it surprised him a lot actually, the look on your eyes made him shiver. he wanted nothing but to hold you and love you, sadly you were much more complicated than that and he knew you wouldn't want his love. he tried a million times already.
"you seem really lovely together, it's just- I thought I would be a little harder to forget" you said, suddenly feeling brave enough to say shit that even you know is an unfair statement "you said you loved me"
He looked at your for a little while, his face portraying a million feelings: first you saw confusion draw on his face, it drastically changed to a sad look, then shame but finally it was filled with rage.
"well, fuck you!" his voice raised and he stepped back as if saying that to you hurt him more. he shook his head while taking little steps towards you, his mood moving to the next emotion.
"you never wanted me, y/n" said James slowly, now your head was slightly looking up so you could be face to face and not face to chest "and you know that I fucking tried".
his hand moved to your arm, even though his words were harsh his touch was gentle, almost as gente as the air of spring causing you to melt into his sad eyes.
"I know" he could barely hear you speaking, your voice was as low as a whisper.
he bend over you, your faces centimeters apart from each other.
"and I have been understanding, you don't like that stuff but I do" his voice now imitating yours, as sad and calm "so I let you go..."
"and now is my turn?" you asked laughing dryly, but he just nodded "oh"
"I'll always love you y/n, so much my heart hurts when I see her and not you. But you've made things clear" his hand stroke your face gently, you closed your eyes understanding that this was, somehow, your fault.
shortly after his hand reached your face, his lips reached yours. he kissed you softly, your heart stopped at the contact of not just your lips but your hearts and before you could kiss him back he moved, he wasn't in front of you anymore.
he gave you a last look and then he entered the common room, you saw through the door and you could see lily waiting for him with a white smile and her soft but intense hair. she looked warm and loving, he deserved that. you were the opposite.
you went to bed crying that day, thinking about how you could have done things differently if you wanted to.
you were bitter, so now you just hoped she was sweet.

It was forbidden love, really.
Those little moments of not-so-accidental touches, stealing glances, and discreet smiles sent each other's way were your means of communicating with each other.
James Fleamont Potter, a Gryffindor boy that was absolutely smitten with You; Slytherin's Princess.
An odd combination that would only lead to chaos.
Being one of the sacred twenty-eight wizarding families meant that you command power and respect from everyone you meet— intentionally or unintentionally. The idea about blood purity, power, and influence was already in your mind as soon as you were able to grasp things your toddler brain could handle.
You were taught to only mingle with pure-blood families, people who could be useful and loyal to you, and those with power, influence, and wealth. Your family’s distaste for muggles and muggleborns were also ingrained into your mind, as if they programmed you to believe what they believed in. It wasn’t that hard, after all you were surrounded by rich witches and wizards who are blood supremacists.
For someone who grew up with those ideals and values, you thought it was right. Although, your belief came tumbling down the longer you spend time at Hogwarts and got to know James Potter and the rest of the Marauders.
James, he made you feel alive.
It felt as if he was the breath of fresh air that you never knew you needed. Away from that suffocating Malfoy Manor, the scrutinizing gazes of your family, and away from rich pure blood problems. Being with him felt exhilarating, he was the buzz in your life. James brought so much joy into your dark, lavish, and empty lifestyle.
It was quite funny, picturing him as your knight in shining armor, whisking you away from your pretty, gold cage.
"Malfoy!" Evan Rosier, a pure-blooded Slytherin raised his hand in your direction, motioning you to come over and sit beside him during breakfast in the great hall. Cold eyes like Lucius Malfoy's travelled in his direction, a questioning brow raised.
"Rosier, you are being too loud." She commented, walking, and sitting next to him before greeting the person beside him, Regulus Black.
"Good morning, Regulus."
"Good morning, Y/n."
Barty Crouch Jr. looked up from his meal and snickered at the both of you. "Good morning, Mum and Dad." He teased, greeting you both as Evan laughed along with the other Slytherins near them. Heck even Severus has a small smirk planted on his face. "If you wish to make your family line extinct, then please feel free to continue with your remarks, Crouch."
He smirked, putting his hands up in mock surrender "Just kidding, Y/n. Geez. Rough summer, I suppose?"
You felt your lips press into a thin line, an obvious answer to the question; It was horrendous.
Evan’s laughter slowly dies, he shakes his head, “Give her a break mate, she just got the biggest news of her life during summer. Isn’t that right Y/n-“
“Shut your mouth Rosier if you do not want to be hexed into next month.” Her empty threat really doesn’t do damage to Evan, he just shrugged, taking it as a warning that you’re not in the mood for jokes.
Your father, Abraxas Malfoy and older brother, Lucius Malfoy made a huge decision for your future. Hearing rumors here and there about their Slytherin Princess being romantically involved with a blood traitor in Gryffindor enraged your father, Abraxas. That will certainly not do, they will not sit idly and watch as the Malfoy name be... tainted with those rumors.
You remember how you felt dread entering your system, fighting the urge to run and throw up as you mustered up a façade, “Those are just baseless rumors, a plot to ruin my image in school." You held your head high, praying they do not see the truth.
Abraxas stared at you, his daughter, with a monotone expression. "Your brother and I do not care whether those ridiculous rumors are true or not." Lucius nods, agreeing. What a lie. You know your family well enough to not believe what comes out of their mouths in situations like this.
"We do not care if you had relations with the boy, even though it is rumored that he is a blood traitor, you knew well enough not to fool around with mudbloods. Well done, Y/n. Perhaps you could change his views, get him to join our cause.” Lucius looked at you. You could press your lips into a thin line, trying to find an answer.
“That tactless boy's role is to only be a bed warmer for you, remember that Y/n." Your father stood from the chair he sat in the drawing room. Slowly walking towards you. “Although, I suppose it ends now. I heard Lady Walburga Black is looking for a potential bride to their heir, Regulus Black.”
After a week, it was official; You are to be wedded to Regulus Black, your friend, Sirius’ brother.
You could not do anything about the arrangement, what fight would you have put up? A young girl like you, who does not have any power, influence, and wealth could only suck it up and accept.
How you wish it was James you were betrothed to.
“James, you came.” You breathed out, seeing him take off the invisibility cloak. The moonlight in the astronomy tower complimented his features, he offered a small smile sitting beside you.
The stakes were high, you were sure underlings of your brother (and possibly father) in the school have their eyes trained to you as you enter another year in Hogwarts. You would need to find new ways to meet up with your lover. Regulus’ eyes discreetly looked towards James, who is undeniably looking at you.
“Wouldn’t want for my girl to be alone, you know?”
He joked, intertwining his finger with you, a second nature to the both of you. Squeezing his hand, you softly looked at him. “I missed you, pothead.” He leaned towards your face, kissing you on the forehead. One of the things he does that never fails to make you feel flustered. “I missed you too, love.” You rolled her eyes, slightly shoving him playfully, “Stop being sappy, Pothead.”
“You secretly like it, love. You can’t lie to me.” He grinned, although the last sentence made you tense up. James shot you a concerned look, noticing your body language. “Something wrong, love?” You were torn, deciding on whether you tell him about the engagement rather than keeping quiet and leaving him in the dark about your current situation.
“I got engaged.” Before you could even stop yourself, the words flew out of your mouth. Shit. It wasn’t how she planned to tell him. The light atmosphere suddenly became dark and heavy. You can feel James turn rigid, freezing up as he muttered. “So, it was true, huh?” He scoffed bitterly, hurt overtaking his features. “James…” You gently called, carefully placing a hand on his shoulder. He flinched, turning his body away from you.
She tried to ignore the hurt she felt, pushing it down as she understood why James was acting this way.  “Sirius told me.” He choked out, still not looking at you. James really does know you well, answering the question you haven’t even voiced out yet. The slight tremble in his voice made your heart crack. You bit your lip, of course Sirius found out; he was still a Black after all.
“I love you, James. I really do.”
You spoke to him, you raised your hand, about to put a hand on his back that was still facing you but deciding against it before it touched him. Your hands faltering before dropping down to your sides. He shakes his head violently, his curly locks getting messier than they already were.
“Don’t… Don’t say it like that, love.” He pleaded, slowly turning to face you again, eyes glistening with unshed tears. “Don’t say it like you’re about to leave me. This. Us.” He croaked; you felt his large hands placed on top of yours. He brought it up to his lips, kissing the knuckles.
“James…” You managed to utter out, voice getting caught at the throat.
James knew he was acting like a child, but damn- he never thought it could hurt this much. He pictured both of you marrying each other, living in a large house with a big backyard because he insisted it will be great for when you have kids. Merlin, he even imagined about 3 or 4 kids looking like the perfect mix of you both, running out and about with their names already carefully thought out.
out. He daydreamed that the both of you grow old, watching you tell stories to your grandkids about their grandfather’s mischief during your years at Hogwarts.
“I have to, James.” She chokes out, tears spilling onto her cheeks. Those four little words made James’ little bubble of happiness burst with just a bat of an eye.
“Don’t… don’t do this to me, love.” He pleaded; he even went down onto his knees as he saw you standing up from your place beside him. Poor James, luckily it was only you, the moon, and the walls of the Astronomy Tower watched him become a wreck.
“I love you, please remember that you will always have my heart, James. I wish you find happiness.” The part ‘without me’ was unsaid but was heard. It took a lot of courage, strength, and self-control not to fall apart. Deep down, you wanted James to say the same to you, proclaiming his love again for the last time you’ll be together.
“I love you Y/n, so much. No one will ever make me feel the way you did. I’ll find a way; a way for us to be happy together. I swear on my life.” He promised, looking at you straight in the eye. You could only close your eyes before smiling at him, trying to blink the tears away. Stars, you hoped James really does find a way.
“Goodbye, Potter.” She turns, walking away.
Maybe Slytherins and Gryffindors really aren’t meant to be together.

So High School
pairing: James Potter x fem!reader warnings/tags: none except some teeth rotting fluff, possibly inaccurate Quidditch team (I didn't know everyone's positions), allusions to suggestive content?, no use of Y/n summary: just James being an absolutely amazing boyfriend totally not self-insert what- a/n: and thus begins the saga of me taking Taylor Swift songs and turning them into stories about fictional characters. Don't even act like you're surprised, you shouldn't be by now <3 Also, I've been wanting to write for James but couldn't get it right, so a little thank you to Miss Taylor for making this possible wc: 0.8k
Tumblr media
"And another goal made by Gryffindor chaser James Potter!" Remus shouts into the microphone while he reacts to the latest Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. "That is three in a row for Gryffindor. Sorry, Ravenclaw, it seems like you'll have no chance of winning today, better forfeit already-"
He is cut off by Professor McGonagall taking the mic out of his hands, "Don't get forget to stay objective, Mr. Lupin," She says, just loud enough for the microphone to pick it up, but the crowd is too busy cheering to hear it.
James does a victory lap on his broom, flying close to the crowd. When he comes close to your section, he sends a quick wink in your direction. You lightly chuckle and roll your eyes when a couple of first years nearly faint from being so close to their unrequited hallway crush.
Not that you can entirely blame them, seeing as you yourself still can't shake the giddy feeling of butterflies whenever James wraps his arms around you. Sure, you'd been dating for about half a year, but somehow he still managed to make your heart skip a beat.
Not long after, the match is over when Marlene manages to catch the Snitch. Louds cheers erupt once more from the spectators on the stands, and soon enough, they're running onto the field to greet the victors.
You're pulled along in the flood of people, practically carried towards the field until the crowd parts for the Gryffindor team. You smile as you lock eyes with James, who practically storms right at you before trapping you in a bear hug, slightly lifting you off the crowd.
"That was amazing!" You say as you wrap your arms around his neck, kissing his cheek. "You did so great out there."
"Only because my lucky charm was in the stands," James replies, burying his face in your neck as he grins, "Couldn't have done it without you cheering me on." You chuckle, knowing arguing against him would be pointless even though you know he's a great player whether you're there or not.
The celebrations continued in the Gryffindor common room, the firewhiskey flowing while people cheered, laughed and talked to each other. Throughout the entire night, James held you practically glued to his hip: always an arm around your shoulders or waist, kissing the top of your head or your cheek.
"-And then Mary fired that Bludger at the Ravenclaw Seeker, and I ducked down for the Quaffle, and then-" James rants about the game, completely caught up in his story.
"Remember to breathe, James. We don't need you passing out," Remus says, making everyone laugh and James shake his head.
"Oh please, as if I could breathe when this one here takes my breath away the entire time," James quips, "Not that I mind, though. I'd gladly pass out if it meant you sitting next to me in the hospital wing."
"James!" You exclaim.
"What? It's true," He responds shamelessly as he shrugs, making the others shake their heads and chuckle.
As if you weren't already glued to his side, James pulls you even closer to him, making you laugh when his breath tickles the nape of your neck.
"Oh come on, can you two act even more like high school sweethearts? We're getting cavities from looking at you " Sirius groans, to which you only raise an eyebrow and reply with, "That's rich coming from the guy who had his tongue down his boyfriend's throat less than a minute ago."
"I don't see the relevance of you pointing that out, but alright," Sirius replies with mock-ignorance as he sits close to Remus, who nuzzles his face in Sirius's nape and softly smiles.
As the night progressed, the firewhiskey started to take over your systems, making you a bit more bold and unfiltered.
"You know, sometimes I still don't understand how we got together," You say, slightly slurring your words as you look at James.
"Oh god, here we go again," Sirius sighed, turning to Remus, "James is going to confess his undying love for her again."
"Hey, I can't help it that this perfect angel walked into my life, you have Remus to blame for that," James shrugged as he kisses your cheek for the millionth time that night.
You and Remus had been friends ever since first year, finding companionship in your shared love for literature and classic history. James swears he fell for you when you were rambling about the works of some ancient philosopher, claiming that you could light up an entire city with the energy you put into it.
"Well, I don't know about perfect angel, but thank you anyway," You say, resting your head on James's shoulder as you whisper in his ear. "I love you, James."
"I love you too, love."

You will be my world.
James Potter x Fem!Reader
Summary: James Potter never liked how the Autumn made everything seems so unsightly and boresome. That was until you steal his heart and make him change his mind about the autumn.
Word Count: 1.8k
Warnings: none, just tooth-rotting fluff. A slight mention of the first wizarding war, maybe?
A/N: Actually, my favourite season is spring, but I love the song ''we fell in love in october'' and I just couldn't stop myself from writing this.
Tumblr media
James Potter hated autumn.
He loved summer because he could feel the sun kissing his skin and making him feel alive. Spring was the perfect time for him to gift his mom flowers and watch nature's beautiful cycle where animals found their mates. Winter was synonymous with Christmas (James' favourite holiday) and it was when he could play with his parents in the snow.
Autumn was just three months of sheer boredom. Nothing special happened in the Autumn. Everything was so… unsightly.
That was until he met you.
It was the middle of October and James' least favourite season was in full swing. Most of his neighbours were adults without children, leaving him with no one to play with for nine years, but that all changed that year when a moving truck pulled up in front of the house next to his with a car right behind. A couple got out of the car with a… Child.
A child his age.
James immediately turned away from the window and was already pulling on his coat to leave the house to greet you when Fleamont Potter stopped him.
''We live in a Muggle neighbourhood, Jamie, and you still don't know how to control your magic very well. I'll invite them to afternoon tea and we'll find out if they're wizards.''
Thank Merlin they were.
The L/Ns were a Muggle-born couple who met through their work at the Ministry of Magic. Their only child, Y/n, had inherited her parents' magic.
They were a very likeable couple and Fleamont and Euphemia quickly made friends with them.
''It's not dark yet, you could go out and play.'' Mrs L/n suggested.
Of course, James was over the moon to finally have someone to play with, but he felt uncomfortable being alone with you because so far you both only exchanged a ''Hi''.
The square that was a few meters from James' house was pretty empty at this time of day. You noticed that, so you suggested the two of you go over there. James happily agreed, but as soon as you turned your back to go down to the square, James scowled. He never went to the square in autumn precisely because everything was ugly. But he agreed because he wanted to please you so that you would like him and become friends with him.
Apparently, you didn't mind the dead look of the leaves on the trees. On the contrary, you seemed to be… Delighted with them.
''There are so many leaves on the ground! We can make piles of leaves to jump on!'' You suggested excitedly.
The idea didn't seem too unpleasant, so James nodded.
He never knew jumping in piles of autumn leaves could be so much fun.
The feeling of jumping on top of the leaves to feel their slightly hard texture, but not to the point of being uncomfortable, was strangely cool. For some reason, you two couldn't stop laughing and the banter went on for hours but you both could have sworn you were only playing for a few minutes.
When the two of you finally collapsed from exhaustion onto the floor, still giggling like the kids you were, you started moving your arms and legs. James watched you in confusion until he realized you were making an angel out of autumn leaves. He had never seen anything like that, but it looked fun and he decided to imitate you.
''Your angel looks great, Jamie!'' You smiled at him as you two finished your autumn leaves angels.
Tiredness had made your face redder and despite the slightly chilly temperature, there was a little sweat on your skin. your eyes were bright with teasing and your smile was so beautiful that James smiled back without even realizing it.
He hadn't realized what a pretty girl you were until that moment, and he felt like an idiot for feeling his cheeks and the tips of his ears heat up.
The moment was interrupted by James' mother, who said that it was time for you both to go home and that there would be plenty of time to play tomorrow.
James couldn't wait.
***
He had been looking for you all afternoon.
Until he finally remembered about your favourite tree and James felt stupid for not thinking of it sooner.
There you were, exactly where he'd assumed you would be, sitting against the big oak tree at the back of Hogwarts grounds reading a book.
''This one is new, isn't it?'' James asked, moving closer to you.
At age 13, you were both in the growing-up phase. This meant that James was a lot shorter than you and you never stopped teasing him about it.
''Yes Jamie, I started this one today because I finally finished Animal Farm yesterday.'' You replied, patting the space beside you on the floor for James to sit down.
''What is your new book about?'' He questioned as he rested his head on your shoulder.
He let you talk animatedly about your book while he was lost in thought without you noticing. He admired the orange and red tones of the leaves of the trees that made a strange but beautiful combination. He closed his eyes for a few seconds to feel the wind ruffling his hair even more and letting the slight chill envelop his soul. All this while he enjoyed the sound of his favourite person's voice.
You've been inseparable since that day in 1969. You played together daily. Your families travelled together and you studied at Hogwarts together. You were his best friend and he could never thank you enough for coming into his life and making everything more colourful.
But last week, he overheard a conversation between Dorcas and Marlene (He knew it was wrong to listen to other people's conversations, but the topic really caught his attention).
Dorcas spoke passionately about soulmates. How two people were born to meet and complete each other. How a soulmate could make you see the world more beautiful and make your heart feel at peace just being close to your soulmate. Soulmates could live a thousand lives without forgetting the comfort and love that the other made them feel.
It was then that James Potter knew.
You were his soulmate.
But he was too embarrassed to tell you. He wanted you to think he was cool, just like Peter, Sirius and Remus did.
Maybe you would think he was silly for being so sensitive when it came to you.
But one day he would tell you. You were his safe haven and damn him if he never told you that.
***
A war was approaching.
Very soon, a threat would come to terrorize the wizarding world and James feared for everything he loved daily.
His life, because James had dreams and plans and he wanted to try harder every day to be a better person.
His parents, who always had only given the best for James and provided him with a wonderful childhood that he would always be grateful for.
His friends, who stood by him in the good times and made him come to his senses when he was acting like an idiot. Who made him smile and taught him a lot about life.
You.
He didn't want to think about it too much.
Due to the thousands of thoughts plaguing him, James had been having trouble sleeping properly. Usually, he admired the stars in the astronomy tower, but today he decided to take a different route.
Just to end up finding you.
He knew how the threat to the Muggle-borns lives was being very difficult for you. And despite knowing how strong you were, he desperately wanted to take you in his arms and protect you from the cruel world that didn't understand that you were an extraordinary person who was so much more than a ridiculous blood status.
''Couldn't sleep either, Y/n/n?'' He asked quietly so as not to startle you.
You took a deep breath before answering.
''No, Jamie. I wasn't able to.''
You were sitting on a small hill, which was covered with orange leaves. You repeated your habit of patting the vacant space beside you and James sat down next to you.
''You know I'm going to die before I let anything happen to you or your parents, right?'' He stared at you, his face as serious as ever.
''Don't say that. Please… Don't say that.'' You started to cry.
James pulled you closer and you immediately buried your face in your best friend's chest and wrapped your arms around him.
He rested his chin on your head and stroked your back, letting you get it all out.
When you finally calmed down and pulled back a little (Just enough to look him in the eyes. You weren't quite ready to leave James' arms) before muttering.
''Thank you for always being there for me, Jamie. You're the best.''
Suddenly, the handsome boy with glasses grinned devilishly before attacking you with tickles.
That was a terrible habit he always had. From childhood, he would start tickling you whenever you were feeling down. He had learned to control himself over the years, but that bizarre nature of James was still there.
You immediately broke free of his grasp and started running while laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation. James was laughing like crazy as he chased you and unfortunately you didn't stand a chance against him. Now you were both adults and James was much taller and stronger than you.
James threw himself at you, but you tripped and that's how you both ended up on the floor. Your chests pressed against each other and his lips were just inches from yours.
''Y/n/n… Can I kiss you?'' He asked with something glinting in his eyes.
You were completely frozen by the wonderful and at the same time torturous closeness because it still wasn't enough. His hazel eyes has always been your weakness and you could spend eternity admiring James Potter. But a few seconds later, you finally processed the words of his question and responded by pulling him by the back of his neck so that his lips finely met his.
***
If James had told his version of 10 years ago that his favourite season was autumn, little James would have laughed in his face.
But that was an undeniable truth.
He met you in an autumn, fell in love with you in an autumn, finally got to love you in an autumn, and now he was making you his wife.
In an autumn.
Despite all the devastation the war was causing, he found peace and genuine joy today. Watching you walk down the aisle in a beautiful white dress, looking like an angel, while promising to spend the rest of your life with him.
James Potter loved autumn.
And he could never thank you enough for that.

"bunny, are you feeling alright?" remus asked, noticing your sullen mood as you entered the boys' room.
you nodded timidly. scared that were annoying and bothering them but they somehow can read your mind and the expression you have on your face was a dead give away of what you were feeling.
"hey, hey, none of that love. what do you want hm?" james said softly as he approached your figure, wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you closer to his body.
"just want cuddles with all of you, please" you whimpered as the comfort of james made the weight in your heart lighter.
"ok puppy come here. let's get you nice and cuddled up, yeah?" sirius opened his arms and you quickly went to him after hugging james.
"careful now, bunny we won't go anywhere" remus snickered lightly at your left as james went to the right side of sirius.
"relax now love, we'll be here when you wake up, ok?" james stared at your figure lovingly while caressing your back. sirius was petting your hair and remus began to quietly read, knowing you were faster to fall asleep with him reading to you.
you hummed, completely letting your body relax as you were laying on top of sirius, feeling james hands gently caress your body and hearing remus read softly. truly, a bad day was not going to win against the love that your three boyfriends have for you.

i feel like harry would be really bad at comforting people when something is bothering them. so it’s like you’ve been dating him for a while and he doesn’t know what to do when somethings bothering you. you’re having a really tiresome and stressful day and you walk into his dorm and just plop on the floor with your arms and legs spread (like a starfish). instead of saying anything cause he thinks he’s not good at it he just lays down on the floor with you.
I could NOT have said this better.
He's so much better with actions than words, so he tries to do anything to get you to cheer up at least a little bit. I can see him sneaking you to Honeydukes for some of your favorite candy or like a flying session around the grounds on his broom.
And you understand he's trying because he' working his ass off. Someone made a class for social skills and make him go,

“Y/N!” Sirius shouted excitedly as he pounded down the stairs with Peter in tow.
Not expecting to be shouted at so early in the morning, you jumped, knocking into the table in the process. You groaned when your ink bottle shattered, spilling ink not only all over the floor but on your shoes as well.
“Shit, sorry. Reparo!” Sirius pointed his wand at the broken glass, mending the bottle. He followed his mending charm with a cleaning spell that cleared the ink away.
“What do you want, Sirius?” You asked, annoyance clear in your tone.
Sirius placed his hand over his heart, mocking hurt, “Hey! I came down here with the intention of giving you a gift and this is how you repay me? C'mon Peter, we’re obviously not welcome!”
“Oh, stop being so dramatic,“ you chuckled, amused.
The pair sat down, Sirius to your right and Peter across from you. “Interested now that I’ve mentioned gifts?” Sirius mused.
“Maybe a little…” You admitted.
“Oh? So you’re using me?” Sirius asked, “You’re lucky I don’t mind, but only because it’s you, Y/N.”
“I’m flattered–” you rolled your eyes–“and impatient. So get on with it!” You joked.
Grinning widely, Sirius lifted his bag to the space between you, holding it open, “Go on, look!”
You curiously peered into the bag, gasping before a smile overtook your features, “Is that firewhisky? Is it real? Where did you get it?”
“Yes, yes, and Hog’s Head. It was easy, really. I snuck out as Snuffles when it wasn’t a Hogsmeade weekend so they weren’t expecting anyone underage—not that many students go there anyway, but still—so they had no idea I was a student… Or that didn’t care, I win either way so neither do I.” Sirius had a wide smile etched on his face, clearly proud of his achievements. Sirius reached into his bag, “So now let’s–”
“Woah, slow down!” You grabbed his wrist, stopping him from retrieving the drinks, “There aren’t any prefects around, are there?”
“Goody Two-Shoes afraid of getting detention?” Sirius teased.
“More like afraid it’ll get confiscated before I get a taste. Either of you have the map?” You asked.
“I’ve got it!” Peter stumbled with the parchment and his wand a bit before reciting, “I solemnly swear I am up to no good,” and tapping the map with his wand. “Well, Remus is in the library–”
“Not that he’d do anything if he caught us,” Sirius joked and you giggled because it was perfectly true.
“–studying with Lily. And Quidditch practice starts soon so the male sixth year and the female seventh-year prefects, who have names I don’t know how to pronounce, are on their way to the Quidditch pitch. And it looks like the other two are monitoring detentions.” Peter finished, looking up at you and Sirius.
“That settles it then!” You removed your hand from Sirius’ wrist and allowed him to retrieve the bottles.
“Ugh! Y/N I dropped my wand by your feet, do you mind?” Peter asked politely.
“Clumsy as always,” you joked, disappearing under the table to grab Peter’s wand. When you rose from the ground Sirius was holding out and already open bottle for you to take.
You released Peter’s wand and took the bottle in your hand instead, “Thanks,” you said, raising the glass to your lips. “Cheers!” You said, before taking a gulp.
You would be lying if you said it didn’t burn, of course it did, as you never had straight firewhisky before. The first and only other time you had alcohol was in your fifth year, last year. A seventh-year mixed some firewhisky with the punch at the party celebrating Gryffindor’s win of the Quidditch Cup.
“How’s it taste?” Sirius said, smirking.
“Sour,” you giggled, “Hey, where’s James? Wouldn’t he like some?” you gestured to the drink before you.
“Getting ready for Quidditch practice. Why concerned?” Sirius said, his smirk growing as Peter grinned widely.
“Not really concerned, I just know he’d want in on this.” You explained.
“How very considerate of you, Wormtail and I didn’t even think of that.” Sirius took a sip of his own drink.
“Hmm, well I have always thought you guys weren’t the considerate type.” Your eyes widened in shock. “Uh–” you cleared your throat–”I mean, well, it’s just… um…”
“Oh really?” Sirius smirked, “Why do you say that?”
“You’re a bit selfish, Sirius.” You blurted out uncontrollably.
Oh my god, you thought. “Not in a bad way! I mean you can’t really be selfish in a good way… but when the time comes I’m sure you’ll do the right thing.”
“If that’s what you think about me what do you think about Wormtail? Moony?” Sirius questioned.
“Well, Wormtail does turn into a rat and that kind of says something about his character. Oh god… not that- not that… um, anyways. Moony, on the other hand, he’s a bit brooding but he has his reasons, plus he’s a good friend. If I needed help it’d probably be him coming to my rescue first.” Why am I saying this?
“Ouch, you know that’s a bit harsh. What could have possibly gotten into you?” Sirius said. He and Peter were easily ignoring the hurtful words as they were already well aware Remus was a bit more concerned with the well being of others than they were. Besides, this situation was way too amusing for them to care.
Peter’s eyes flashed at something on the map, nudging Sirius and pointing to something. A devious expression found it’s way on to Sirius’ face.
“And what about James? What don’t you like about him?” It was Peter who asked the questions this time.
“Well, what’s not to like? Alright, he can be a bit self-centered, but with a face like that it’s easy to look over.” You said, gasping once your brain processed your statement.
Sirius and Peter were beyond shocked. Did they hear you right?
“Y/N,” Sirius smirked, “Do you have a little crush on Prongs?”
“I wouldn’t say little. I’ve liked James since fourth year.” Your hands covered your mouth once you said it. As you were wondering why on Earth you would admit that (especially to Sirius of all people) a crash was heard behind you, attracting Sirius and Peter’s eyes.
“Running late to Quidditch practice, Prongs?” Sirius said smugly as you turned around and locked eyes with the one and only James Potter, who was frozen in front of a pile of Quidditch gear that tumbled out of his arms.
“Why the bloody hell would I say that?” You whispered to yourself. You have only told one person, your best friend, so why would suddenly admit it now? To Sirius of all people! Unless…
“Sirius,” you turned back to him, “What the hell did you do?”
Sirius and Peter had tears in there eyes because they were laughing so hard, so naturally, you hit them both on the head to grab their attention.
“Did you shitheads put Veritaserum in my drink?” You took their laughter as a yes. “Why would you think that was a good idea, you complete idiots! You know, Black, I always thought you were annoying but I didn’t realize you were a complete ass!”
You paused, registering what you said, “Oh god, I’m sorry I… wait, no I’m not! This is your fault! You brought this upon yourself, you bloody idiot!” You brought your hand up to your mouth.
“I-I’m-I should go.” You said, figuring it was best to leave before you said anything else.
You stumbled as you stood up, nearly running into a still frozen James. You don’t think you’ve ever felt more embarrassed in your life. You focused your eyes on the ground and rushed past him, remembering Peter had seen Remus in the library.
James, however, didn’t process the situation until after you were long gone.
“Sirius, Peter, what the hell was that?” He asked, trying to stay calm.
“A brilliant prank that went way better than I thought it would,” Sirius responded.
James was furious, “Are you kidding me? That was what you call a brilliant prank? That was cruel, Sirius! That was a horrible invasion of privacy! Veritaserum is a potion used to make suspects of a crime tell the truth, not a fun prank you use on your friends!”
Sirius rolled his eyes, “Calm down James. Don’t act like you wouldn’t be all for it if I told you about the plans.”
James was furious, “Maybe if it was a prank on a git like Snape, but not Y/N!”
“Oh c’mon, you should be happy! Your-”
“Sirius! Peter! James! What did you do?” Remus had suddenly joined the conversation looking just as furious as James.
“Now you? What are you mad about?” Sirius huffed.
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe I’m mad because Y/N stormed into the library crying! I tried to get her to explain but all I could make out from what she was saying was the names Sirius, Peter, and James. She’s with Lily now but-”
“Hold on, did you say she’s crying?” James said but didn’t wait for an answer before he leaped over his pile of Quidditch gear, seized the map from Peter’s possession, and ran out of the common room.
The idea of Quidditch practice was long forgotten. James only had one thing on his mind, finding you.

Book Smart, not Street Smart (Remus Lupin x Sirius Black)
In honor of Pride month, here’s some fluffy Wolfstar goodness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was Remus’s third year at Hogwarts and so far everything was going as usual; some of the first years looked absolutely petrified at the possibility of being sorted into the wrong house and some of the seventh year Gryffindors looked ready to snatch some of them up, and make them Gryffindors themselves. Remus idly paid attention, waiting patiently for the actual feast to start. He made small talk with some of his fellow Gryffindors, laughing as his friend Lily tried to hide herself from one James Potter.
“You know Rem, I’ve never been so thankful for your towering height until now… move a little to your left and I’ll be golden.” She whispered.
“Only if you give me your stash of chocolate frogs.” He bargained.
“Deal.”
And so the rest of the feast went without a hitch, Lily was well hidden thanks to Remus and the two of them caught up. Soon enough they were both making their way towards the Gryffindor tower, Lily went ahead spotting her friend Marlene as Remus took his time walking towards the painting of the Fat Lady. He stopped dead in his tracks as he heard shouting, it wasn’t like Remus was trying to eavesdrop but he couldn’t help but hear the small squabble going on by the Gryffindor common room.
“Well at least our parents will finally have a son whom they’re proud of!”
“Sod off, Regulus! Why don’t you go back to your fellow slimy snakes?” A black haired teen said, enunciating the last bit of his sentence, both boys were glaring at each other so fiercely that Remus could’ve sworn that one of them was bound to make the other combust right there and then.
“At least I’m not a blood traitor.” The younger of the two said before turning on his heel and walking away from the older boy before the later could say something back.
“Come on, Sirius, your brother’s not worth it.” A third voice spoke up, patting the tall boy on the shoulder as he sighed, grumbling something that Remus couldn’t make out.
Sirius Black… he thought as he also made his way into the Gryffindor tower and towards the boy’s dorms.
His first day of lessons were uneventful, it wasn’t until the second day that things took an unexpected turn.
“Alright class, this term I’ve decided to switch up your partners, you’ve known each other for what, 2 whole years? It’s time to learn how to work with someone new! So please gather your things and make your way towards the back of the class as I read off the new pairs.” Slughorn announced, as he made his way towards the front to pick up his clipboard.
“Potter and Evans…” Remus stifled his laughter as his friend Lily began complaining to Slughorn about her seating arrangement. Slughorn only had 6 students left to partner up, himself included.
“Let’s see here…ah yes, Lupin and Black, and please Mr. Black, don’t set your partner on fire this time around.” Slughorn warned. Remus’s eyes widened as Sirius chuckled before saying, “I make no promises Sluggy.”
The first lesson with his new one was an odd one, from what Remus could tell, he was going to have to be the brains between the two of them. Sirius was sitting there, doodling, adding the wrong ingredients and stirring too harshly. When he scrunches his nose up in concentration he looks quite adorable…Remus thought before shaking his head and going back to chopping the daisy roots needed for the Shrinking Solution.
They finally finished making the solution, well Remus did, he began bottling it up as Sirius cleaned up their area. Remus handed it to Slughorn just as class was dismissed, he made his way back to his seat to collect his book bag but before he could leave the room a hand stopped him.
“Hey, thanks for doing most of the work, Merlin knows I need all the help I can get.”
“It’s no problem, thanks for not setting me on fire.” Remus said timidly, trying not to blush by the physical contact and close proximity.
“Nah, you’re too cute to be set on fire.” Sirius said with a wink, exiting the room and leaving a blushing Remus behind.
Weeks had gone by and now the two of them were close friends, Remus was even friend with James as well, which earned a glare and the nickname of ‘traitor’ from Lily but Remus would laugh her off knowing that she okay with his new found friends. But as the days went by, his crush on the dark haired lad was getting deeper and deeper. It wasn’t only him that noticed it, James and Lily had two. Both Remus and Sirius would make up excuses just to spend more time with the other, from “I just need help with that potions essay.” To “Sirius just stole a tray full of sweets from the kitchen and I need to try this Belgian chocolate.” Their friends were already making bets on just when they would actually start dating because quite honestly it was exhausting seeing them pine for the other.
“What if we just lock them in the room of requirements? They wouldn’t starve or die in there…”
“No, Remus is too smart to be lead into a trap… although we could probably lure him in there with a chocolate trail…”
“This is not some Hansel and Gretel shit, come on Potter, think.” Lily said, turning down another one of his ideas. They stopped talking as soon as said pair walked into the common room Remus carrying an armful of cookies and other treats.
“Merlin! Did you rob the house elves at wand point?” Lily laughed as he saw Remus struggling to balance everything in his arms.
“Not quite, Sirius baked all of these when he went home this weekend.” Remus said with a smile.
“Yeah, you know as a thank you for doing most of the work during Potions.” Sirius added, blushing slightly.
“But we had a textbook lesson last class… we didn’t make a potio-“ James didn’t finished his sentence since Lily elbowed him to stop him from talking.
“Well, as much as we want to stick around, James here has to help with the Quidditch try-outs. Come on, James.” Lily said, dragging a confused James from his seat and out of the common room.
Remus and Sirius sat in a comfortable silence as Remus ate his sweets. After a couple of minutes, Remus finally broke the silence.
“You know, James is right, we didn’t brew a potion during our last lesson, it was a straight off the book lesson. So what’s the real reason you made these cookies?” Remus asked, raising an eyebrow and looking intently at Sirius.
Sirius gulped, shifting uncomfortable in his seat and clenching his fist, Well here goes nothing…
“For someone so smart you’re actually quite dumb.” Sirius started, making Remus choke on the cookie he was eating.
“I beg your pardon?” he coughed out.
“I’ve been flirting with you for the last month and nothing! So this is my grand gesture, I know you love chocolate, quite honestly I hate chocolate but for you I’m willing to spend an afternoon being glared at by my weird house elf, and make you some chocolate frogs and chocolate chip cookies.” Sirius confessed, leaning back on the couch, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
“You ought to be nicer to old Kreacher…” Remus pointed out, a playful smile on his lips.
“That’s beside the point! What I’m trying to say…REMUSLUPINWILLYOUGOONADATEWITHME?” he said, screaming the last part out so fast that if it wasn’t for Remus being used to decipher Sirius’s and James’s fast and loud rants when they were planning a prank, he would’ve been lost.
“Yes.” Remus answered.
“REALLY?”
“YES! I’ll go on a date with you, now stop shouting, you’re going to scare the first years off.” Remus laughed, grabbing Sirius’s hand with his own as Sirius fist bumped the air with his other hand.
Weeks had passed since their first date and soon enough everyone in Hogwarts knew that they were a couple, the cutest couple if anyone were to ask. They bickered constantly because let’s face it, Sirius was like a toddler on crack, and Remus had to constantly make sure that he wasn’t endangering his life or that of the others around him.
Remus, Sirius, James and Lily were all lounging around the common room, Remus was reading a book, Sirius was sitting next to him, aimlessly twirling his wand between his fingers, James was playing with a snitch and Lily was finishing up her History of Magic assignment.
“So mum invited you to dinner this weekend.” Remus spoke up, glancing at Sirius briefly as he turned a page in his book.
“Hm, really? Alright, I’ll bake her something, what’s her favorite flower?”
“Yellow peonies and orange daisies.” Remus answered with a smile.
“Well I hope she’s ready for a dozen of each.”
“You guys are too cute, how come you don’t try to get on my mum’s good side, huh James?” Lily asked, a playful smirk on her face.
“I’ll bring her flowers next time…” James grumbled as Lily ruffled his hair.
“I need to make a good first impression.” Sirius shrugged.
“Aw, but it’s not the first time you’re meeting my mum.” Remus said.
“Yeah, but it’ll be the first time I’ll be meeting her as your boyfriend.” Sirius replied with a lazy grin as he booped Remus’s nose, causing the lanky boy to roll his eyes playfully at him.
“Are you fucking serious?” James chuckled.
“I am, I thought you knew.” Remus said, nonchalantly as Sirius fell off the couch laughing.
“Oh fuck you Lupin.” James said rolling his eyes.
“Sorry mate, that’s my current job and I don’t want to be unemployed.” Sirius answered back, between laughing fits.
“You guys are the worst.” James grumbled out, as the rest of the gang kept laughing.
Things at Hogwarts will certainly remain interesting with that power couple around.

Sick Kisses | Remus Lupin
Tumblr media
ok friends here’s one from my other blog ( @riiwriting ). for some reason i feel weird reposting it like this but i kinda don’t care?
ANYWAY from here on out officially feel free to send me harry poter reqs okay ty bye
warnings : none
pairing : young remus lupin x reader
My body shook as I let out a long, painful cough, a sickly sound that resonated through the barren Gryffindor common room. Being ill wasn’t my favorite thing in the world - as if it were anyone’s - but the sickness wasn’t the worst part of my situation. No, the worst part was how lonely the big common room was whilst classes were in session. That, paired with my current inability to sleep, was practically torture. Every other Gryffindor was busy until lunch, leaving me alone for quite some time in the empty room.
Due to that logic, naturally, the sudden opening of the common room’s entrance scared the daylights out of me.
I swung my gaze over my shoulder, immediately meeting my boyfriend’s big brown eyes. I furrowed my eyebrows, “Remus? What on earth are you doing here?”
A small smile slipped onto his lips as he crossed the room to the couch I was sprawled out on. He knelt down, pressing a kiss on my forehead. “Come on, love,” he started, brushing away the hair that stuck to my sweaty forehead, “It took about one class duration for me to realize that I couldn’t leave you suffering on your own.”
I offered a weak smile, but still shook my head, “You should be in class. You’ll get in trouble!”
He shrugged, a mischievous smile on his face, “Hey, I tire of letting James and Sirius have all the fun.” He nudged my side, and begrudgingly I scooted closer to the back of the couch. He moved to lay on the small sliver of available cushion, repositioning my legs so that they draped over his and provided him with a little more space.
I shifted to lean my head against his chest, his body heat warming me much more than the fur blanket on top of my torso did. I closed my eyes for a moment, hoping that sleep would wash over me. They fluttered open shortly after, though, when Remus planted a soft kiss on my forehead. I tilted my head to look up at him, a small pout on my lips as a new realization hit, “Babe, what if I get you sick?”
“Well, I guess that would make it your turn to take care of me, huh?” A small smirk rested on his lips as his brown eyes looked down at me.
I shook my head quickly, “Don’t look so happy about the idea!”
He chuckled, his chest rumbling underneath me. “How can I not be happy about something that would involve spending more time with you?” he asked sweetly. Before I could say anything, he leaned forward and pressed a kiss against my lips.
I pulled back quickly, pouting at the look of disappointment on his face. I smacked his arm, “Remus!”
The disappointment cleared quickly, a playful smile taking its place. “Yes dear?” he asked, innocently batting his eyes at me.
I groaned, “Now you’re definitely going to get sick!”
His smile didn’t waver. “If that’s the case,” he started, leaning his face closer to mine once more, “then I guess it wouldn’t make a difference if I did it again.”
I rolled my eyes, but didn’t pull away as his lips once again came in contact with mine. My hands came to rest on his chest as he cupped my cheek, pulling my face as close to his as possible.
Everything was sweet, until a cough arose in my throat, causing me to quickly pull backwards, covering my mouth with the inside of my elbow. Remus laughed, “Romantic, Y/N. Very romantic.”
I glared at him once before snuggling back against his chest. I let my eyes close as I focused on nothing but the rhythm of his breathing beneath me. As I fell asleep, I felt myself smile at the anticipation of our roles reversing next week.

Salvation - pt. 3
A/N: So I need to write more and I’ll try do it a lot. But man, so little ideas. But Imma do it.
Tumblr media
xx
All your life there were ten fingers, ten toes, double the laugh and double the trouble and always one to have your back for the rest of your life... Or not.
“(y/n). How many times do I have to apologize?” he walked after you while you only sped up, turning your heal into the classroom.
“As many as it takes for me to believe you.” you turned around, glaring at him and slamming the books on the desk. “You just stood there- no wait. “you scoffed with a laugh. “You sat there and let me be dragged away like an animal that misbehaved.”
“You did, (y/n). You did misbehave! You should have just listened to him and do what we do. Submit.” he tried to reason but that only angered you more.
“I am not submitting to him like a slave!” you now shouted and made sure that all eyes were focused on you. “ Lucy was hell. I’ll admit that.” you now lowered your voice. “But I’d rather go through it again than let myself be thrown in the marriage like we’re in the 17th century.” you sat down behind your desk and turned your head away from him and leaving him to stand there with his books by his side.
He was still your brother though. And since the two of you were sitting together since the First year, you couldn’t let him just not sit beside you.
“Just sit, Evan.” you sighed and with a few doubts in his head, he did just that.
---
When the class was over you left first from the classroom, making your way around the corridors and down the stairs, ready to enter the library when suddenly someone grabbed you by the elbow and pulled you into a small, cramped room.
You were pressed against someone you couldn’t quite see due to the darkness. You quickly reached for the light switch and when there was light, there was a prick.
“No.” you reached for the doorknob and was about to leave the room.
“Rosier.” he reached first and stepped in front of the door, backing you against the shelves filled with silver polishers and cloths.
You looked up at him, his eyes serious and his hands trembling a bit.
“Black?” you glanced down at his hand then later back up at the blue of his eyes. “What do you want?”
“Wha-what happened when we left?” he asked, his eyes watching your and his hands slowly leaving the doorknob.
“What do you mean?”
“You know exactly what I mean. You clearly weren’t excited to hear the news and neither was I-”
“And here you are. Away from them. You’re free, Black. You don’t get to marry me. Why would you still care?”
“Because like you said. We were still best friends once upon a time.”
“Yeah. Once upon a time, long long ago until you found another replacement for us.” you were about to push him away, but he didn't budge and you were the one who got backed away against the shelves, making a few items fall on your scarred back.
You let out a wail of pain, falling on your knees and letting out light tears of burning to suffer. It hurt, it burned and it scorched everything inside of you. “(y/n)!” he kneeled down to you and took your head in his palms. “(y/n). What’s wrong?”
The numbness was taking over but it still left pulses of pain moving up and down your back. “You really want to know?” you moved your head away from his palms and slowly stood up. “When you left, dad pulled me into his study and brought out Lucy.” you glared down at him and he felt he had heard the name before.
“Lucy-”
“Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?” you scoffed and stepped over him and out of the broom closet, wiping away the wetness from your soaked cheeks.
You started walking faster and faster because as much as you continued to brush away the old tears, fresh ones kept falling.
“(y/n)!” a shout came behind you and before you could see the blue in his eyes, he was pressing you against him. His hands were around your neck, careful not to wrap themselves around your back. One hand was pressed against the back of your head and the other continued to pull you closer. “I’m so sorry.” he whispered in your ear. Your hands wrapped around him as well, squeezing him tightly as you cried in his chest.
And never have you thought that from all the people who would see you cry beside Evan, that Sirius would be one of them. But you felt safe and you felt that you can trust yourself with him this moment.

Doubtful || pt. I
Pairing: Sirius Black x Reader
Summary: An unexpected team-up between you, a Slytherin, and the proud Gryffindors that go by “The Marauders” causes an unexpected relationship between you and the one and only Sirius Black.

Part I // Part II // Part III // Part IV // Part V // Part VI
––––––––––
In the middle of the grounds the gang of Slytherin’s, or as you liked to call them, Death Eaters on Training Wheels had teamed up to taunt a first year from Gryffindor. Word got around that she was muggleborn, so of course the Slytherins felt obligated to put her down.
Everyone around seemed to take notice of the predicament. Unfortunately for the first year, nobody around was a professor.
The crowd started with Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. There wasn’t another Gryffindor or Slytherin around. That was until five others exited the castle. You, a Slytherin, and four Gryffindors who liked to call themselves the Marauders.
The Marauders knew it was trouble when they saw the Slytherins with one of the first years they see hang around the common room. When they saw you a few feet in front of them marching towards the crowd, they also saw the green on your tie and jumped to the conclusion that you’d aid to the other Slytherins.
However they were pleasantly surprised. And even a little bit impressed.
“How pathetic!” You shouted, clearing a path by pushing some Hufflepuffs apart, “What is it, seven of you against one? I knew the whole lot of you were cowards but c’mon! You need the whole boy band with you when you wanna confront a first year?”
Avery was quick to respond. “What’s it to you half-blood? Is this hitting home a bit too hard? I know your mother is a mudblood.”
“Don’t you dare say those things about my mum. And don’t say them about her either.” You nodded towards the first year.
The seven of them had now turned away from the Gryffindor to focus all of their attention on you.
“And if we don’t?” Rabastan Lestrange said, pointing his wand at you, “What are you gonna do about it?”
With all seven wands pointed at you, you signaled the first year to leave whilst grabbing your own wand but only holding it at your side.
“Oh Rabastan, I think I can handle a few cowardly fanboys of an old man whose so self-obsessed he’s dubbed himself ‘Lord’.” Your statement was followed by a gasp of the students in the crowd, anger in the Slytherins expressions, and a smirk on Sirius Black’s face.
“How dare you!” Regulus Black pushed past his six buddies to face you, “How dare you speak of him in that way!”
You shook your head, “Don’t pretend you of all seven of you care the most about that–”
“Say another word, I dare you,” Regulus growled.
To tell the truth you were disappointed in Regulus. You had a short friendship once. But that ended when he started hanging out with the Death Eaters on Training Wheels and eventually became one himself. So you were disappointed, he really didn’t seem like the type.
You smirked, “–that Machiavellian wannabe dictator.”
For a split second confusion spread across Regulus’ face before he blinked it away and put on a blank expression as he foolishly stood there with his wand pointed at you. It was clear he, nor the other Slytherins, did not know what the word “Machiavellian” meant.
As Remus Lupin explained the word to his three friends in what he intended to be a hushed whisper, the Slytherins overheard became aware it was, in fact, a negative thing to say.
So Regulus sent a stinging hex towards you. But you were quick and protected yourself with a shield charm. And much to everyone’s surprise you did it silently. You were a sixth year, but you don’t learn how to perform nonverbal spells until next month.
But the Slytherin’s adjusted quickly and all seven of them began firing jinxes and hexes your way.
“Seven against one again?” You called in between shield charms, “Like I said, cowards!”
But even if they were cowards, it was still difficult to duel seven people at once. You couldn’t imagine trying to hex or jinx one of them when you were too busy trying to protect yourself.
And even when you were putting all your effort in shield charms, Mulciber’s knockback jink still hit you and suddenly you were on the ground.
You thought this would land you in the Hospital Wing, but this time it was you who was surprised. Sirius Black had stepped in front of you and bellowed, “Protego!”
But it wasn’t only him. Potter had his wand pointed at Snape while chanting “Engorgio Skullus”, while Remus was casting jelly legs jinxes at anyone he could. And on top of that, Peter Pettigrew had successfully cast a tail-growing hex on Rosier.
“No please, lie there while we fight them off!” Sirius shouted at you, snapping you out of your shocked state.
You quickly got back on your feet to duel with Regulus. Of course, it had to be Regulus. Ever since your friendship imploded you two seemed to be quite the enemies.
You weren’t sure how long the fight went on, but when it did end it ended with a few Ravenclaws bringing the fight to the attention of Professor McGonagall.
So now, the crowd had dispersed and you, the Slytherins, and the Marauders stood tensely as McGonagall dished out punishments.
“Slytherins! Report to your Head of House!” McGonagall said fiercely and you almost shuddered.
“All except you, Miss. Y/L/N.” She added.
You froze, eyes widening while thinking, why me, why me, why me?
“To prevent further altercations with your housemates, I see it would be efficient for you to serve detention with the Gryffindors. I will be alerting your head of house.” She elaborated the situation.
“Sorry, Professor. Detention?” Sirius said.
“At three in the afternoon, tomorrow.” McGonagall said, “Now report immediately to your common rooms. I do not want to see any of you get into any more trouble tonight.”
You nodded, walking away from everyone and back to the castle, hoping to reach the dungeons before the Death Eaters on Training Wheels.
“Hey! Your welcome!” Sirius called as he and his friends raced to catch up with you.
“I had it.” You responded curtly.
“Yeah, we could see that. It really looked like you had it considering the way they towered above you as you were helplessly lying on the ground.” Sirius smirked.
You took a deep breath to prevent you from lashing out, “See you in detention. Black,” You said as you distanced yourself from the Marauders.
“Is that when you’ll dish out the thank you’s that you owe us!” He called as you walked away, and you couldn’t help the small grin that found it’s way on to your lips.
“Doubtful.”

Part I // Part II

You furiously wiped away your tears as you searched the library for Remus. You hated that you were crying. You hated that it was because you were embarrassed and humiliated.
But you probably hated Sirius and Peter most of all. Mostly Sirius, because this so-called prank was just his style and you knew it was all his idea.
“Remus.” You called once you saw him hunched over a transfiguration textbook with Lily.
When he turned around he was smiling, but that quickly changed when he saw the state you were in.
Remus sprung up from his chair and soon his arms were around and you were led to sit down.
“Hey, hey, you’re okay. What’s wrong?” He asked in a gentle tone.
Having to relive your humiliation seemed to make you cry more, which only increased your hate for Sirius since you despised crying. Especially in front of others.
But as much as you didn’t want to explain the veritaserum was still in your system.
“I-It was Sirius and Peter–” you hiccuped–“and they used firewhisky! And then James walked in and– oh I don’t want to say it!” You buried your face in Remus’ shoulders. If you hadn’t, however, you would see how angry he looked.
He took hold of your shoulders and gently pushed you away so he could look at you, “It’s alright, you don’t need to say anything else. Listen, I’ll be back. Just stay with Lily.” And with that, he was gone and Lily had taken his seat.
Lily didn’t know what to say. Sure, the two of you were friends, but she had no clue what happened with Sirius, Peter, and James and she did not want to say the wrong thing.
But the peace and quiet allowed you to calm down, and soon you stopped crying and were now just sullenly leaning on Lily’s shoulder.
“Y/N!” James shouted, earning a “Shh!” from Madam Pince.
Although Lily did not say much to you, she had a lot to say to James.
“Would you get out of here, James! Haven’t you done enough?” Lily said angrily.
James shook his head, “N- No it wasn’t- Lily please, let me talk to her.”
Lily frowned, “I don’t know what happened, but you obviously upset her. So no, you can’t!”
“Lily, please, give us a moment,” James begged.
“I’m not leaving.” She said forcefully.
You sighed, you’d have to talk to James sooner or later, so why not the former, “Lily, it’s fine.”
She looked at you, concerned, “Are you sure?”
When you nodded, Lily gave in and gave you and James some space.
James didn’t know what to say. He needed to talk to you, but once he was finally standing in front of you he was at a loss for words.
You took his silence as an invitation to speak first, “Look, James, it’s fine if you don’t feel the same way about me than the way I feel about you. I mean it’s not fine, it totally sucks and– shit the veritaserum is still in my system.”
James chuckled and took the open seat next to you, “Y/N, what Sirius did to you was terrible and I promise we’ll get back at him. But first, don’t say things like that, because ironically to your situation, it’s not true.”
You looked up at James, “Sorry, what?”
James chuckled, “Y/N, truth is I like you too. In fact, I have since the beginning of the year.”
Your eyes widened. All you could think was that Sirius must have put some kind of hallucinogenic potion in your firewhisky in addition to the veritaserum.
“I- I thought you liked Lily,” you said, beyond confused.
“I did, but then I accepted the fact that it was never going to happen. And not pining of Lily made me realize she wasn’t even the one for me. You were.” James explained with complete sincerity.
You shook your head, “But you talk about her all the time.”
James scratched the back of his neck, “In all honesty, I was doing it to see if you’d get jealous. I was being quite stupid.”
You opened your mouth and closed it again, but the words you really wanted wouldn’t come out. So, you looked down at the table and admitted, “No matter how much I try I literally cannot say you weren’t being stupid because you really were. I’m sorry, but it’s true.”
James erupted in laughter, causing you to giggle as well.
Taking you by surprise, James gently placed his hand on the side of your face and turned your head to face him.
Your breath hitched in your throat, “Your awfully close,” you blurted foolishly.
“I suppose I am.” He responded in a whisper.
In a matching whisper you asked, “And is there a reason for that?”
His eyes trailed away from yours and down to your lips, “None other than that I really want to kiss you right now.”
“So do it.”
With that, he pressed his lips against yours. At first, it was gentle, but as his free hand wrapped around your waist and your hands found themselves in his hair things escalated.
Your skin exploded in each place he touched, and you melted when he moaned as you tugged on his hair. It seemed you both had put all the passion you could muster into the kiss, and it being very long overdue only added to the fire.
And soon passion turned into need and the two of you were clinging on to one another as if the pair of you had evolved and no longer needed oxygen as long as you had each other.
Clearly, you were very distracted. You had forgotten where you were and were too involved in the kiss to notice the clicks of a pair of heels becoming louder.
Much to your horror, it was Madam Pince, “No PDA in the library! That’s ten points. Each!”
You both jumped in shock and all of a sudden you were back in reality. However, as the pair of you quietly laughed at the situation really seemed to be a bit altered in the most positive means.
“Twenty points from Gryffindor?” James spoke, “Even if she took a hundred, it would still be worth it.”
“Would it?” You asked and James froze, believing you were serious.
“I think it would, but only if you agreed to go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend,” you finished.
James sighed in relief, “Only if we go as boyfriend and girlfriend.”
Your heart swelled, “In that case, I think we are in agreement.” And you pressed your lips against his once again.
