JP Rhea is so different from ENG Rhea that it blew my mind when I first heard some of her lines. When Flayn and Seteth die JP Rhea sounds like she's about to break down into tears while ENG Rhea is pure rage. What's up with that?

Pat being Pat, lolcalisation lolcalising, some people trying to connect dots between unrelated things, Supreme Leader bias, a general aversion in a certain part of the world for real life organisations that don't exist in this specific fictional world...

And it's so annoying, because if Leigh got the same direction Inoue had, we could have had a "better"/"closer to the intent" Rhea, which might have lessened the vitriol spat by some devoted fans and randoms about her.

Check Nopes Leigh!Rhea, especially when she gushes about Willy - she was perfectly able to play Rhea as someone with a lot of feelings and a bubble of emotions other than "rage mode", but Pat's crappy direction made it so that FE16+FEH's Leigh!Rhea is always in "rage mode", with none of those other feelings Inoue!Rhea conveyed since day 1.

I still think Inoue did a nice performance here, Rhea's angry and crying and upset at the death of her bro and niece - and it's powerful in a way that, hey, Billy's and Supreme Leader's actions have some consequences, not as in "look you made her cry", but her tone? She's breaking up and torn apart because of those actions, Rhea's descent to madness? It's Billy and Supreme Leader's fault.

Meanwhile, Rhage just rages as usual, removing, imo, that weight. If Rhea's raging, it's not new or anything like that, she's just raging as usual. It's not the direct consequence of killing those lizards.

ok but blatantly and inarguably a lot of "accepting" parents would rather their children be ~nonbinary~ and/or ~nontransitioning~ than binary transgender, and this doesnt devalue exorsexism (not only because it is another form of exorsexism) but because it is a fact

NOT FOR YOU: character study. #the concept of having a complicated relationship with one's sibling. #because ryuuji was the second born and thus the responsibility of taking care of him was given to misao most of the time she found herself- #being jealous of him sometimes. and misao felt very guilty because of this but she just wanted to be a kid for a moment. so sometimes she- #would imagine that she was ryu instead of herself and their roles were reversed because misao would just get so overwhelmed with things- #that this was the only way she could cope with it at times. which is sad in every sense of the word but misao knew that it wasn't ryu's- #fault at all that thing's were this way. it wasn't anyone's fault really but it was so much easier to place the blame on him subconsciously #sometimes because the alternative was blaming herself for not being strong enough to be both a caretaker and a child at the same time. #and that was perhaps even harder for her to think about because misao has always strived to be perfect. and i mean this in everything- #she does. she wants to be the 'perfect psychotherapist' the 'perfect lover' the 'perfect friend' and it is a LOT of pressure to be honest- #to be putting on yourself especially when you are not fully equipped to open yourself up to people about how you are struggling because- #you've dealt with things on your own all your life. but yeah. misao might've felt resentment towards ryuuji even though it was misplaced- #though she also felt a great deal of platonic love towards him and even if the whole world were against him then she'd still be on his side #but misao has been out of contact with him for the longest time and doesn't even know if he is alive anymore. and she is kind of scared- #to inquire someone to find out for her like a private investigator or something. because i think misao would not be able to take both her- #mom and her half-brother dying because at the end of the day ryuuji is her last remaining family member. and he understood her- #in ways that even she couldn't understand herself.

#raven beak #chozo #a lot of effort for a bit #i thought back to that one piece i did a few years ago where i put raven beak in bikini armor and i said #'wouldn't it be funny to see him actually fight in something like that?' #because as we all know exposed flesh in combat is very humorous when large guns that shoot beams are involved #and then my train of thought fell to 'wouldn't it be funny if Samus was covered more than Raven Beak is' #'to subvert the sexy outfits thing a little bit but also drive home the 'god-emperor of Chozo Victoria's Secret' look he has going for him' #So the original sketch was created July 21 2023. And I redid it on April 10 2024. #and built Raven Beak bulky like a pro wrestler to really drive home the drama/hamminess of the situation but also to make him look stronger #my outfit design continues to be lacking but my commitment to the bit remains unmatched #... it's also so much easier to draw silly bikini armor that makes no sense than it is to put characters in regular clothes. or armor. #if you want a 'lore justification' for the lack of armor let's just say Raven Beak doesn't need the suit to be powerful. #and Samus is about to demonstrate that he has sorely underestimated her. by a mile. or a kilometer. #anyways the differences in their outfits match their upbringing and general philosophy #Samus opts for the more practical leotard offering her mobility and lightweight motion #Raven Beak guns for the full regalia that shows off as much muscle as possible while not skipping out on symbols of rank #and he NEVER leaves home without a cape #the cape is a must if shoulder-mounted black hole generators aren't available.
