On the night of you and Malleus exchanging words of your love for each other, he hands you a quaint little treasure. It turns into a long necklace of ivory when you wish for something to adorn your neck, or a glimmering pair of tiny diamonds to decorate your ears. Even beautifully entwined little metallic roses when you want something to go well with your summer dress. It can turn into any piece of jewelry you wish-- with the only commonality between them a perfectly cut gem the same shade as his chartreuse irises.

The only form it couldn't seem to take is a band to fit your finger.

So when the evening came when he finally held you tight, you feel him trace the grooves of your bracelet with all the love you've seen him show you tonight. He leans down and kisses the skin beneath the glimmer. He takes it off you and, with his lips still fluttering on your wrist, slides its metallic chill on your finger. You gasp. When you bring your hand closer to your eyes to study it, he places a lingering kiss on your knuckle before whispering,

"I love you. With all I am."

And he sinks into you, completely, fully. Finally.

The quaint little jewelry had turned into a ring of promise.

Sooo I was thinking of Riko Moriyama today and his sick obsession with Kevin that we all know it's not sibiling behaviour and I talked to a friend about it and we both agree that he wanted to be everything for Jean, Kevin (and Nathaniel).

And don't get me wrong I know he would be toxic and an evil shit in all his relationships (I have ONE theory in wich he's not but I don't wanna talk about it yet) but I think he'd be different with all of them. Like he wanted to be everything but that everything meant different things.

He was sure he owned Jean and Nathaniel so he wanted to be seen as a master by them, they would've been only tools for him. But he didn't and couldn't own Kevin so he needed him to fear him in other ways, and that was the root of all this.

yoru would playfully step on your shoes, and he'd do it with a proud smirk. he knows that you'll run after him to step on his shoes too so he thinks that it's the perfect way to get close to you without being so obvious about it. he's also the type to hide your pens / pencil case in his own bag so that you'd talk to him during class asking if he had an extra pen. (he'd sneak the pencil case back to you after classes, though.)

chamber's the type to mouth you the answer when you're asked to recite. the type to say, "what's in it for me?" when you ask for test/seatwork answers. also the type to bump his hips to yours when you're both standing to wait for the bus (or you, at least. he probably has his own driver to drive him home but he insisted on hanging out with you 'til you get a ride home.)

phoenix is the type to shout, "this is for you!" before attempting to score during a basketball tournament. spoiler: he didn't hit the basket. but he'd sheepishly smile and say that t'was just a 'practice round'. would also be the type to steal cartolina paper somewhere and write "GO [NAME]!!!!!!" on it using a permanent marker that he most likely stole from yoru when it's you that's competitively playing. he probably drew hearts, a fucking spaceship or something and a tree surrounding the text. he likes being flashy and extra.

sova would be your cool upperclassman that always smiles at you in the hallway and approaches you when you're alone. he leaves snacks/drinks on your desk whenever it's break time so you have something to secretly munch on during classes. if you play sports, he'd attend your sports club practice and watch you play from the sidelines. always has hair ties on his wrists. his classmates asked him about it and he only answered with, "for emergencies." but they definitely know that he keeps them for you.

cypher's also your upperclassman. he's the more annoying one, though. would softly throw a ball at your head just to get your attention. always gives you small sticky notes, small messages that says, "walk with me home later?" "should we eat somewhere before heading home?" "can u buy me milk and give it to me later at lunch pls i'll pay u back" He in fact did not pay you back. - sneaks into the security room (or something idk) with you just to show you a clip of phoenix slipping in the halls through security cameras. weirdly knows all the best seats in every classroom and gives them to u (fans/air conditioning hitting the spot perfectly, a spot that's barely noticed by the teacher etc).

no one's probably going to understand what the hell is going on here (and forgive me for bad writing) but

damian as jason's older brother in reverse Robins is everything to me

dami hiding brotherly bullying behind training lmao

but also protecting jay as much as he can and prepare for everything

and giving difficult homework, gifting a weapon, being proud, being useful, being good for someone, for once in his life

and spending time with him, and sensing that warm unfamiliar feeling-------------------------------------------------

and going to bruce to say that he's quitting being Nightwing , because he can't live in peace with himself knowing that jason died in his suit, with his toy (because Shrike persona always has been just a toy, he understands it now, humiliated by fate), with his encouragement, with his "You are a good Shrike, Jason, it would be just a waste of talent and training to let you quit now because of some childish insecurities" and how he never should have let jason be Shrike in the first place.

and bruce who is actually guilty because, in the end, jason WANTED to stop being Shrike and create a new hero identity, new name, new suit, because "Gotham doesn't need Shrike anymore". He wanted but bruce freaked out and didn't want to let jason go and asked him to wait a little longer before becoming Bluejay.

and well, Joker doesn't hate Shrikes. not like Robins. they are the part of mistery, Bat's little carnivorous birds, but he does hate jay's Shrike because this one made Batman different, this one made him actually laugh, this one is not like others.

it was just a poor timing, really

but bruce just knows that if only he agreed to jason's plans it wouldn't happen. so he can't. he can't let damian blame himself alone. he knows for sure he can't be Batman, too. not after this.

damian didn't know about jay's plans (because he didn't listen the reasons behind jason's words when jay first tried to tell him why), didn't know bruce's role in this. he does, now, when bruce shows his own mind in response, shows his own crime in response. when he practically begs damian to blame him, to yell at him. like damian did not so long ago.

and they look at each other and just know that nothing they can say to each other is going to erase that guilt, because it's not just a feeling, they ARE guilty.

but damian knows jason wouldn't want for bruce to stop being Batman. and bruce knows jason wouldn't want for dami to stop being Nightwing. wouldn't want for them to stop helping people that way. and they both know they don't want to leave each other alone in field.

so they just agree to try to do their best, still. and that Nightwing returns to Gotham.

unfortunately their best right now is very bad.

nothing works. nothing ever works.

they just have to keep hiding the corpse in the Cave, the body no one but them sees, the guilt no one but them sees. partners in crime, father and son. no one else has to know. let them think it was just a clown, let the others think they don't live with actual murderers.
