So, what are the odds, with abuela and ghost Shannon showing up within a couple of episodes from each other, that they will both give Eddie the same message?

I mean, it could be in the cards for us. It would make sense in the narrative. But we'll just have to wait and see. I can't wait for the next episodes now, to see everything unfold.

Steve agrees to play npc parts for Eddie's big one shot that he's been planning forever, but only if Eddie will play basketball with him. So they meet Lucas and Max at the court in the park and Eddie will not shut up about everything.

It's hot, his shorts are rubbing his legs weird, the sun's too bright. Just in general being as annoying as possible. It doesn't bother Steve even a little, he's too busy being smug about getting Eddie into basketball shorts at all. Sure he was still wearing a band shirt, but the shorts were a win.

It starts pretty normal, Max is absolutely ripping them apart verbally and it's working weirdly well to balance out her actual basketball skills, which are nothing to write home about. Eddie whines everytime hes got to run up or down the court, but he does ok at controlling the ball and manages to catch it when Steve throws it to him.

Steve's being blocked by Lucas who's the same height now, and Max is running for Eddie and the ball. Steve's yelling at him to throw it, just aim for the net, and he does. He sinks it, the ball barely touches the rim. He shouts in victory and runs to Steve for a congratulatory kiss, losing the ball to Max, completely worth it.

Over the course of the next few minutes he sinks two more. Steve calls for a pause in the game and simply hands Eddie the ball and tells him to shoot. Another basket. He moves him farther back and Eddie makes it again. Eventually he's standing at the free throw line having scored 7 consecutive baskets and he looks at Steve in wonder and says

"hey, I think I'm good at this?"

Max and Lucas are losing their minds, Lucas is somewhere behind him saying "of course he's good at this." Over and over again.

Steve can't decide if he's more frustrated or charmed, but what he says is "what the fuck, we could have won the championship if you hadn't been a nerd."

I thought tommy's reason for cutting the date short was gonna be because he saw that buck's very clearly in the closet and even though he respects that he doesn't want to go back to hiding, which would have been super valid, but no. no, instead tommy is perfect and just wanted to make sure he wasn't pressuring buck. he thought, if buck is ready, i'll let him take the next step. and then he waited, and when buck called, he showed up. i mean is that man even real 😭

thinking about tommy and how he probably figured that he wouldn't hear from buck again after the date and he was okay with that you know sure he liked buck and he wanted to get to know him better but if buck wasn't ready then tommy wouldn't be the one to push him so he woke up the next morning and he went to work and he tried not to think about buck and then buck texts him asking if they could meet up at this café downtown and tommy agrees and the moment he sees buck sitting there he gets nervous and he makes a joke about the coffee because he doesn't quite know if he wants to hear buck tell him that he was right after all but then buck's talking and he's apologizing and he looks so sincere and hopeful when he says that he wants to try and find out what this new thing he learned about himself means and that he wants to do it with tommy and tommy's heart is beating so fast and buck's asking him to come with him to his sister's wedding and he's smiling and it's the most beautiful thing tommy's ever seen so he says yes of course he does and when buck's thumb brushes over the back of tommy's hand it's the easiest thing in the world to think maybe just maybe i've finally found what i've been looking for
