⿻ㅤㅤᱺ so immediately you took action, re-searching how to clean (then finding out it's called preening) wings, all types of wings really (if you own birds and or know how to properly clean wings then ignore this!!) but unfortunately, there was nothing about angel wings

⿻ㅤㅤᱺ alright then! improv it is, a few videos of people cleaning the wings of large extravagant birds should help you enough- after all Lucifer is much like those large, extravagant birds but not so large or fancy and more like a duck.

⿻ㅤㅤᱺ Lucifer defiantly hates the idea of getting his wings cleaned, or at least feels melancholy about it after all, the last time his wings were properly clean and taken care of were when Lilith was still there

⿻ㅤㅤᱺ WELL WHO GIVES A FUCK??? COZ YOU'RE HERE NOW!!! and well, you're the best person in Lucifer's life, apart from his daughter obviously. You care for him, make sure he eats, drinks, leaves the whole duck situation for healthy periods of time

⿻ㅤㅤᱺ so yeah, you mean a lot to him, though when it comes to his wings he's a bit defensive about them. Whenever you tried to touch them or look at the feathers Lucifer would flinch them away from you, questionable but it's his wings, not yours (god you'd kill for some wings)

⿻ㅤㅤᱺ thus, in conclusion you need to be sneaky about this- while yes you valued your lovely lucifer's want to get you away from his wings you also could not watch him let his wings get all ... gross

⿻ㅤㅤᱺ and so you planned to sneak on him, and clean his wings as quickly as possible... which works as well as it sounds, you against an ex-seraphim, king of hell.... you won, easily.

⿻ㅤㅤᱺ it really did not take you long to get your fiancé (he proposed, it was beautiful) to agree to you cleaning his wings (in reality you pleaded, bribed and almost got Charlie into this- who would have been happy to help, mind you)

⿻ㅤㅤᱺ it took you soooo long to clean his wings (but it was worth it, you got to see Lucifer happy and you got a lovely reward for all your effort after!) and lucifer was sort of a little bitch about it- seriously for the king of all of hell he could not be any more whiney about getting his wings cleaned, you spent about a good 5 hours to pluck out any bits in his wings that really did not belong there (e.g. mechanical bits from the many ducks he decides to make) and about another two to 'scrape' out anything really stuck in there. Then you carefully washed each one of his wings, making sure they all clean and healthy! ⿻ㅤㅤᱺ after all of that, Lucifer actually genuinely felt better- his wings didn't feel burdened with anything and he could fly much better now! Meaning he could take you for flights without feeling an aching pain- all this time he thought it was that he missed Lilith (he still does, what a fitty he scored) but no, it was a small cog that was poking him.

Brother’s Best Friend (Azriel x Reader)

summary: you are cassian’s sister and have a thing for azriel

a/n: this is my first fic ive written for tumblr since like 2014 i think so sorry if its absolute garage. this is also not proof read at all and honestly i wrote this while tipsy bc ive been nervous to write again so i’m just saying fuck it i’m sorry :)

warnings: slight smut/suggestiveness

You always looked up to Cassian since you were little.

Like most big brothers, he has always been protective as fuck, especially with growing up in the windhaven camp and becoming solely responsible for you after your mother died.

He shielded you from so much in your childhood because he wanted the best for you.

Like many little sisters, you thought Cassian and his friends were the coolest males alive and wanted to follow them everywhere.

You basically had three big brothers instead of one.

They would try to include you as much as possible, but sometimes they did certain things that you definitely should not be around and would find some excuse to get rid of you.

But at the end of the day, the three of them would stand up to just about anyone for you to protect you. And they did.

They only let you join the snowball fight once and then kicked you out because it wasn’t fair that you only targeted Cassian the entire time and that Azriel felt bad throwing snowballs at you.

Also you were a child and couldn’t throw far enough to hit any of them, but they still say you suck at snowball throwing to this day.

When you got older, you desperately tried to ignore the rumors you heard about the boys around the camp. No one needs to hear about their brother’s sex life.

When the four of you moved to Velaris and after everything with Rhysand’s family, they were all very protective over you.

Over time, you and Azriel grew closer. His close friendship with Cassian led to you becoming closer with him than Rhys.

He is soooo protective of you.

So much so that no one bats an eye when he scares off any male that tries to court you, claiming they are not worth your time.

“I’m not overprotective, I just don’t think that any of these males meet your standards.” Aka his standards for you

Having a shadow or two follow you around became the norm.

You and Azriel start to spend a lot of one on one time together, platonically at first. You two are definitely the comfortable silence type.

Reading your separate books on the couch together was a common occurrence.

You spent years trying to ignore the shift in how you viewed Azriel.

Neither of you are quite sure when you realized the change in your relationship, but one day you became very aware of how attractive you find him.

The shy and quiet boy quickly became the silent and mysterious male.

And Azriel isn’t quite sure when you went from being Cassian’s kinda annoying younger sister to a vivacious female with curves he can’t keep his eyes off of.

The emotional connection had been there for centuries through friendship, but once it became physical attraction, you both knew you were screwed.

One night after drinking at Rita’s, Cassian asked Azriel to make sure you got home safe.

The alcohol inhibits both of your judgements and you both end up in your bed that night.

“You don’t know how long I have wanted to do this. No other male even deserves the chance to try to make you feel as good as I do.”

He was your first (again because he scared away every single male who tried to come near you) and it was fucking adorable

Waking up next to your brother’s best friend is a different level of anxiety.

You freak out and tell him this absolutely cannot happen again. You make an effort to avoid being alone with him.

But obviously Azriel is not content with just one night after getting a taste of you.

He spends the next several weeks slowly breaking down your walls with sneaky touches and whispering dirty things in your ear when no one is watching.

Eventually you cave and end up at his door one night, pissed at him for succeeding, but also practically begging him to fuck you again.

And again. And again.

It took no time at all for the actual feelings to be revealed between you two and to start secretly dating.

And from there it’s months of sneaking around and pretending to be just friends in front of others.

Az feels sooo guilty about lying to his friend but you don’t want to tell Cassian because you know he will freak out.

He asks you so many times to tell Cassian because he hates lying to him.

And Rhys is so suspicious of you two but doesn’t want to interfere.

Eventually Cassian catches you two.

He enters Azriel’s room without knocking one night to ask some stupid question and finds Azriel with his face between your legs. We all know Az loves eating you out so obviously.

Cassian is pissed.

As in, he tries to fight Azriel.

But Azriel just lets him and doesn’t fight back because he knows he fucked up by not saying anything sooner.

You start screaming and put yourself between the two of them to get Cassian to stop, which makes Azriel immediately move to cover you in case Cassian doesn’t react quick enough to stop.

Cassian sees how protective Azriel is of you and how you were willing to throw yourself in front of Azriel to defend him and realizes this isn’t just some casual thing between you two.

It takes a couple days for him to forgive Azriel for lying. He forgives you within one day because you always have been able to use your puppy dog eyes on him to get what you want.

Eventually Cassian accepts your relationship.

But he threatens Azriel that if he ever hurts you, he will do something so severe that Az wouldn’t tell you what he said.

Cassian still makes an overdramatic scene of gagging every time you and Azriel are affectionate in front of him.

Which only makes you do it more to piss him off because that’s what sisters do.

Chasing Smiles (Thomas Shelby x Reader)

One Shot

Summary: It's been a really long time since you've seen Tommy's smile, so your hoping a day out together might help you find it.

A/N: It's been forever since I've written anything and this took a lot of broken sessions to complete (life's been increasingly hectic) so I hope this doesn't feel too disjointed.

It was hard. Hard for you to see Tommy this way. Fragments were all you got these days. Fragments of the man you reluctantly farewelled to fulfill his duties on the battlefields of France. Like so many others he returned forever changed, weighed down by the heavy shadows that lingered in his head. Shadows that twisted his dreams into nightmares any time he finally found sleep. But at least he returned, for many did not. And for that you were thankful. Because a world without Tommy by your side was a world you couldn’t comprehend. But you missed his smile, his real smile. And that’s what you were in search of today. A few stolen moments together. Hoping it might help him forget his relentless ambitions for just long enough to let that smile emerge.

The cabin of the car was quiet, the only noise interrupting the silence coming from the engine under the hood. Tommy’s mind had been particularly absent these past few days and you had given up trying to sustain any form of conversation between the two of you. But it wasn’t uncomfortable, and you knew he appreciated the fact you weren’t trying to fill the silence with meaningless chatter.

Taking your attention from the road, you glanced towards him, his gaze moving over the passing paddocks outside his passenger window. It was a glorious spring morning. The sun was soft and golden, spilling gently across the countryside. Bringing to life the remaining drops of dew left behind by the cool night air. Pasture after pasture adorned with countless liquid filled jewels. It was a beautiful sight, such a stark difference to the dull grey streets of Small Heath and you hoped Tommy was taking it all in.

With a gentle sigh, he turned to face you, his eyes brushing over your hands upon the steering wheel before settling on your face. He smiled softly, though it barely touched his lips, “So are you going to tell me where you’re taking me?”

After a few short moments you replied with a shake of your head, “You’ll find out soon enough, we’re nearly there.” Deciding you were being a little too cryptic, you elaborated, but only a little, “It’s somewhere my nan used to bring me as a child, I snuck up here yesterday just to make sure it was going to be worth it.”

It was a poor effort at being less cryptic. Tommy’s brows furrowed at your reply, but his intrigue peaked. You had told him many stories about your grandmother and all the fond memories you had of her, but he couldn’t recall a single story that would bring him here, an hour’s drive out of Birmingham. You could almost see his mind flicking through the catalogue of every conversation the two of you ever had, his expression was perplexed and utterly adorable, and you responded with an amused smile. Lifting a hand from the steering wheel, you pointed up ahead to a small country laneway, bordered on each side by a row of beautiful oaks, “It’s less than a minute’s drive down that laneway.”

Answering with a little nod, Tommy shifted in his seat, for the most part content that his growing impatience only needed to endure for a few more minutes. Turning down the old gravel road, the sun was all but hidden behind a thick canopy of oak leaves, the new spring growth was so full and lush allowing only scattered ribbons of light to stream through, stealing Tommy’s attention just long enough for you to notice. Giving you hope that just maybe this day wouldn’t be completely lost on him.

Reaching the end of the laneway, you let the tires roll to a stop and set the parking brake. Exiting the car, you waited for Tommy to come around and meet you, before slipping your hand in his. With a gentle tug he pulled you to his side and slipped his arm around your back, “Now why have you brought me here? It’s a track that leads nowhere.” Looking towards the gate blocking the road, he gestured to the sign attached, “It’s Private Property.”

You began walking backwards, pulling Tommy with you as you went, your expression playful and teasing, “I’ve known you for a long time now Tommy. Since when have you ever followed the rules?”

Dropping his hand, you hitched up your dress and began climbing the gate, leaving Tommy standing there, eyes wide and forehead creased, his voice baring a hint of amusement, “And since when did you break them?”

Jumping to the ground, you spun around and shrugged your shoulders, your features innocent but your words suggesting otherwise. “Maybe I’m not the good girl you think I am Tommy.”

Tommy smirked, and before you knew it, he was hitching a leg over the gate and landing on the ground beside you, his arms enclosing you against the fence. Moving his lips just an inch from yours, he replied, “Oh, don’t worry. You’ve never fooled me.”

Hovering there a moment, his lips threatened an enticing kiss, but before he could close the distance, you smiled wickedly and ducked under his arm to run away, thankful you had decided to wear your flats. And you knew exactly where you were running to. Moving only fast enough to keep ahead of Tommy’s quickening strides, you came to a stop just a few steps before the gentle decent down the familiar hillside of your childhood.

Once again, you found yourself spinning around, this time giggling like a carefree child. And Tommy was soaking up the sight of your joy. He was almost close enough to reach out and touch you now, and that was when he finally took his eyes from you and caught sight of the very thing you brought him here to see.

Stopping just shy of your reach, he staggered, a visible intake of air passing through his chest. Tommy’s gaze moved with wonder around the gentle hillside behind you, and across the entirety of the valley below. Never had he seen anything like it. Wildflowers. More wildflowers than he could comprehend. Thousands upon thousands… hundreds of thousands maybe, in all the colours of the rainbow. All of them dancing under the light spring breeze, like the gentle swell of an ocean. He was almost at a loss for words.

Stepping forward, Tommy enveloped you in his arms, never once taking his eyes from the landscape. Placing a chin to your head, he squeezed you, “So, the saying is true then.”

Resting your ear to his chest, you listened to the rhythmic beat of his heart for a silent moment before asking him to elaborate.

Cradling the nape of your neck, his fingertips gently lost themselves in your hair, “April showers bring May flowers.”

A string of warm memories flooded your thoughts, closing your eyes a moment you savoured them before looking up to him, the warmth of those memories evident in every one of your features, “My nan used to say that all the time.”

“I know. I remember.” Kissing the top of your head, he adjusted you in his arms so he could see you better, “But tell me… why are you only bringing me here now?” Taking another glance around, he continued. “This place is stunning.”

You nodded in agreeance, “It really is.” A flicker of impatience touched Tommy’s face when you failed to answer his question and you took a little too much joy from it. The sight of it triggering your playful side. You really were feeling a tiny bit wicked today. When his impatience was just about to get the better of him, you moved his hands to rest loosely against your waist, leaving yours placed gently upon his chest, your face as serious as you could possibly make it. “It’s a very special place to me… so I usually only share it with the people I love the most… but I decided to make an exception today and bring you.” Taking a step back from him, you waved your hands flippantly in the air, “I mean, I’ve brought my other boyfriend here loads of times.”

Tommy rested his hands on his hips, his face flooding with an expression you knew very well, an expression that had been missing for far too long, the sight of it lighting up your heart. Clearing his throat you could hear the amusement in his voice, “Oh really… So where is he today, couldn’t he make it?”

Shaking your head, you frowned, wiping away a single fake tear, “It’s quite sad, really. He told me he doesn’t love me anymore, that he’s found someone else. All this time he’s been seeing another woman behind my back. Can you believe it?”

Tommy rolled his eyes, and shook his head, “The gall of him.”

Taking a couple of steps back, you threw your hands on your hips, “I know right?” Sighing deeply, you gently kicked your foot across the grass taking another step back towards the flowers, “Hmmmm, I’m really going to miss him… His skills between the sheets were.” (You made a chef’s kiss gesture)

Tommy burst out laughing, he couldn’t help it, but he was done with your teasing. Lunging forward, he reached out to grab you, yet somehow you managed to slip from his grip, leaving him standing alone at the top of the hill, your beautiful spring dress billowing as you ran through the mass of wildflowers. And it wasn’t long before he took chase. Not that you were going to make it hard for him to catch you.

Slowing down, you spun around to face him, his arms reaching around your waist, pulling you tight. Then down he went, taking you with him, conveniently and expertly spinning you around to land beneath him, the weight of his body pinning you pleasingly against the ground, still laughing. It filled the space around you. Warmed your very core. But that smile. That glorious smile. Here it was, staring right at you, just inches from your face. Not a memory. Not imagined. But real. And it was just for you.

Using the gentle fall of the hill to your advantage, you flipped him over. Setting your legs snuggly around his hips and seized his jacket lapels, holding him a willing hostage beneath you. Then leaning down, you hovered invitingly above him, speaking through the gentle laughter still present upon your lips. “Mister Thomas Shelby… Am I imagining it, or did I just make you smile?”

Other Parts: Part One and Part Three.

Because he was expecting a text from you any day now, Jeno couldn't step away from his phone. He tried to play to cool and left his phone facedown but he just kept wondering if he'd got a message yet and so decided to leave it face up and stop fighting it. Luckily you texted him later that same evening and Jeno smiled widely when he saw your message.

"So about that games night...we have to pick a day my brother is busy or he'll hog the remote. When is he busy when you're not?". Jeno knew you'd said it was because Jaemin was a hog which he could confirm but he also liked to think it was because you wanted alone time with him and he liked that idea. So he inspected the group schedule and came back with 5 dates, one this week and a few more later in the month to give you lots of options. You came back with the earliest one and Jeno realised that was only 2 days away!

The days passed quickly and before he knew it, you were outside the door. Jaemin had complained he was missing out on this but you'd broken to news to him and taken the blame. You'd claimed you had work at the other times and he could join next time. Jeno liked being your secret and happily went along with it. All of Jaemin's huffing and puffing was worth it when Jeno opened the door and saw you standing there.

The first thing he noticed was how great you looked and that brought him to the second thing he noticed...you were dressed soooo differently from how you dressed when you came over to hang out with Jaemin. You never looked bad when you played with Jaemin, Jeno always thought you looked good in joggers and athletic wear. It was more he noticed you'd purposefully made an effort, knowing you were going to see him. That thought alone excited Jeno and he couldn't help but give you a big smile.

He ushered you inside, helped you take your coat off and then showed you what he'd prepared. "So I got some snacks and drinks for us" Jeno said gesturing to the counter in the kitchen "and I figured we could order food in whenever we want to eat. I've made a list of all the good places and all the menus are on a pile on the table for you to look at". "Wow you're literally perfect" you said "you brought food and worked out ways to get more!" and Jeno smiled "is that the only thing you have to do to be perfect?". "No but it definitely gets you at least halfway there" you said and Jeno smiled, making a mental note to watch everything you ate and always have some in the apartment for you. "Well then I'll never stop doing it" Jeno said and with your snack choices, he led you through to the living room.

Jeno let you select the first game but of course, it was Arceus and he loved that game so was very happy to play it. You could play multi-player too so actually got to team up and Jeno was in full gamer mode wanting to impress you. "Wow you're really good at this!" you said as he took out an opponent with one move. Jeno shrugged "I've just played it a lot, it's one of my favourite things to do after a long day at work. I know that's boring and nerdy but...it's what I do" he trailed off and you smiled "I don't think it's boring. Plus you definitely do not look like a nerd and I think many geeky boys would be furious at you using their title". Jeno laughed "I think I can pull off the nerd look" and you shook your head "not at all, nerds don't have bodies like yours and can't do flips". Jeno went bright pink and only just realised the two of you were sat rather close together. He looked down rapidly, his blush growing and this time you couldn't pretend you hadn't seen it.

"Do I make you nervous?" you asked and Jeno blinked "I...kind of". You watched him "in a good or bad way?". "Definitely good" he said "you always have, ever since we were in school". "Really?" you asked and he nodded "I think you just have that effect on people" and you nodded "I like the effect I have on you". Jeno's breath caught in his throat and he turned to look at you properly "you do? Why?". You smirked and Jeno thought he was going to drop dead right there from how sexy you looked. "Because it's so gorgeous to see a hot guy like you look at me the way you are" you said with a husky tone. Jeno blushed looking away and you smiled "do you get uncomfortable when I compliment you?". Jeno nodded and you shook your head "you don't have to, I'm not that scary Jeno. I won't bite...not without permission". Jeno blushed again and with a chuckle, you moved away and grabbed the controller. "Okay I say we complete this section and move on to another game! There are lots of games I want to play and only so much time". "You can't leave a game in the middle of a level that's just poor etiquette" Jeno cried "come on Y/n I thought you were a serious gamer!" and you smiled. "Fine!" you agreed seeing the logic in Jeno's words but honestly he would've said anything to get you to stay longer.

You were still there when Jaemin got home in the early hours of the morning. You both said you didn't realise the time but you were both liars who just didn't want this to end. "Don't you have work in like 5 hours?" Jaemin asked and Jeno's eyes widened "what? Y/n you're going to be so tired!". "Yeah unless you go to sleep like right now so Jeno you pack up the stuff and I'll get Y/n some pillows so she can crash on the sofa". Jeno hopped up to help and cleared the living room while you got changed into some shorts and a top, this time your brother's which annoyed you but he'd beaten Jeno to it. You were wondering where Jeno had gotten to and found him in the kitchen making a smoothie. You smiled "still hungry after the bucket load of food we ate?" you asked. Jeno jumped nearly spilling it and he put the lid on before shaking his head. "No I thought I'd make it for you for breakfast tomorrow. That way you don't have to worry about breakfast and can get a few more minutes asleep. This was honestly so sweet and you stared at Jeno for a few seconds stunned. "I...thank you" you smiled "you're always so kind to me and it always surprises me. You're a great guy Jeno". Jeno loved your praise and went a light pink colour "thanks...I think you're a great girl" he said in reply.

You moved closer to him and went to say something when Jaemin appeared "there you are, everything ready now come on time for bed". You rolled your eyes "your my older brother by minutes not dad!". "I'm just trying to save everyone from sleep-deprived Y/n, you're a monster when you don't have sleep". You gasped and attacked Jaemin who you could always beat in a fight. He called Jeno for help but Jeno shook his head "sorry Jaemin but I'm not getting involved". "Traitor! I thought you liked me more than her?" he asked and a long silence followed. You could see Jeno felt awkward and smiled "well I should be going to bed, thanks for the amazing night Jeno we'll definitely do it again and thanks bro!" you said punching his shoulder and then disappeared. Jeno stayed in the kitchen to tidy away and Jaemin hovered around him like he wanted to say something but when Jeno looked at him he just said goodnight and left.

You were gone when Jeno got up the next day but you texted him again thanking him and asked when he was free to do it again which made Jeno's morning. You arranged to meet again and you and Jeno managed to dodge Jaemin 2 more times before he had enough and he arranged the games night...and turned into a group event.

Jaemin had invited all the NCT-Dream members and they'd all accepted, much to Jeno's horror. You'd accepted too and Jeno was purposefully waiting near the front door for you to arrive because he was worried you'd get lost. With 8 people coming Jaemin and Jeno's apartment seemed too small so Johnny had offered to host it at his house bringing the grand total to 9!

You'd never been to Johnny's house before and were unsure where you were going. Jeno had sent you directions but you'd also asked Jeno to be reachable in case you got lost. So he kept his eyes glued to his phone, hovering near the front door but acting like he wasn't so his members wouldn't get suspicious. The guys kept calling to him from the other room but Jeno just pretended he hadn't heard them and carried on waiting when he heard a door close. He looked out the window and saw you'd arrived and he got really excited before calming himself down. He rearranged his hair, brought his shoulders back, arms forward and opened the door.

You smiled when you saw him "I've got the right house!" and Jeno laughed "yeah you did it!". "Am I okay parking there?" you asked "I know I've blocked some of you in". "Yeah it's fine don't worry" Jeno said really not caring if the guys were blocked in so long as you were here. "Sorry this turned into a whole group thing" Jeno said and you smiled "are you apologising because I don't get you all to myself?" you asked and Jeno blinked. "I erm...I'm not saying you wanted me all alone" Jeno said unsure what to reply and you shook your head "no you're right I do enjoy our one-on-one game nights but don't worry I'm sure I'll cope" you said. Jeno blushed slightly and led you inside. "So everyone's here and we're all in the living room" Jeno explained "you can hang your coat here" he said and hung it up for you. By this point, the guys had seen you and began calling out to you.

You of course knew all the Dream guys and they all called out to you with various greetings. Then Jeno watched as Jaemin dragged you over to Johnny who you greeted as friendly as ever. Jeno knew you didn't say Johnny specifically when you were talking about attractive guys but he was still a pretty attractive and charming guy. Plus he was American so had that foreign charm and flare. So as Jaemin introduced you both Jeno held his breath waiting for the earth to start shaking or the romantic music to start playing but nothing happened. You said hi to Johnny and thanked him for inviting you over and he was friendly back. That was it and then you came back to Jeno "so what game are we playing first?".

The guys wanted to play a racing game which wasn't your and Jeno's go to but you both dutifully sat down and went along with it. The two of you had definitely got into a gaming routine and Jeno handed you the red remote without even thinking about it. Haechan had a problem with this.

"Hey" he whined "I want the red remote" and Jeno just looked at him "it's Y/n's". "Since when?" Haechan asked "I thought it was your controller". "Yeah but whenever we play Y/n has it" Jeno said "so she gets it, you can have the yellow one" and he shoved it into Haechan's hands. You laughed and stuck your tongue out at Haechan who pouted unhappyily. He ran off to tell Johnny but even Johnny didn't interfere. He could see the way Jeno looked at you and was happy to let the boy shoot his shot and if the red controller helped with that then so be it.

The afternoon passed quickly in a mixture of gaming and chatting. You got to know Jaemin and Jeno's members quickly and liked them all. They'd heard a lot about you and vice versa so it was fun to actually form friendships with them. Haechan forgave you for the controller incident and you spent 40 minutes debating who was the better artist Baekhyun or Kai. You were both stubborn and enthusiastic and just settled the argument by listening to each of the Exo's members solo and just gushed over them instead. Agreeing they were both great.

Jeno tried not to be creepy and overprotective but he made sure to keep an eye on you to make sure you were okay. He spotted you and Haechan's battle over Exo and didn't like hearing you saying how hot Kai's hips were. He made a mental note to ask for sexier choreography in the next comeback and to try and do the Rover challenge with Kai to show he had good hips too. He was debating texting Taeyong now to ask when you appeared best to him.

"Hi" you said and Jeno jumped "hey, you having a good time?". "I am actually, you're all pretty great and I see why my brother likes being an idol so much". Jeno nodded "yeah we're all pretty great...not as good as Baekhyun or Kai though" and you smirked. "Are you jealous?" you asked and Jeno blushed "no...but are his hips really that amazing?" he asked. You laughed and looked at Jeno "well maybe it's just because I haven't seen yours". Jeno turned even pinker at that but didn't look away this time. "I was just thinking of a way to show you them" he said and then froze as your eyes widened. He moved away and immediately explained what he meant. "As in through dance!" he said "I thought I should try Kai's Rover challenge. Oh god that sounded so wrong" and he was panicking when you put a hand on his arm. "Jeno it didn't sound wrong or atleast I didn't think it did". "You didn't?" he asked and you shook your head "how could anything you say sound wrong?" you asked "especially when you say things like that. I was actually quite excited with what ideas your words formed in my head".

Now Jeno was sure this must be some dream he was having. You were basically telling him you'd quite like to sleep with him and doing it in such a sexy way. Jeno had no idea what to say. His mind went straight to "yes please" but he couldn't say that so he blinked and tried to form words. Luckily Mark saved him. "Hey Y/n you going to game or just sit them flirting with Jeno all night?". You turned around and threw a cushion straight at Mark's head getting him in the face. The guys laughed and Jeno was happy, very pink because of Mark's comment but happy. "That's it, I'm playing this round just to beat Mark" you said and Johnny passed you his controller and gave up the good seat for you "be my guest".

Jeno watched you take on the guys in one of their favourite games and couldn't find you any hotter. You were the perfect girl for him and he wanted you so he decided today would be the day. Something would happen tonight and he wouldn't stammer or struggle to find his words. He'd let you know how he felt and the only way he was going to do that was to keep flirting with you.

So when you went to grab a drink from the kitchen he took his chance. He skipped over to your chair and sat in it. "Y/n's just gone to grab a drink, she'll be coming right back" Mark said and Jeno nodded "I know" making Mark smile. "But she'll want to sit there" Renjun said confused and Mark laughed "yeah dude that's the point!" and Renjun blinked before he got it "ohhh okay". Jeno was blushing slightly as the guys teased him and then you reentered the room.

You walked in and sighed immediately. "Jeno!" you cried seeing he'd taken your seat and he just smiled at you "mine now". "But I want to sit there" you whined "I'm playing next so I need to see the TV!". "I'm not stopping you" he replied and you pouted "Jeno!". Sorry I'm comfy so I'm not moving" Jeno said and with a sigh, you shrugged "fine!" and sat in his lap which was exactly what Jeno had wanted...until it backfired.

The game started and you were doing well playing Mark, however you were an expressive gamer who typically moved around a lot. Jeno hadn't noticed this before but now you were sitting on his lap he did.

You got excited when you were doing well in the game and would bounce slightly. When you first did it Jeno stiffened and realised he hadn't thought this through. Then when you were shot you sighed and moved further into his lap which made Jeno tense and he wondered if you were doing this on purpose. Then when you started bouncing again his hands went to your waist to try and stop you but you just ignored him. "Y/n" he whispered but you didn't pay him much mind. "Can talk busy winning" you said and started yelling at Mark who yelled back. Meanwhile, Jeno was trying to breathe deeply and just power through this. He told himself he could get through this...he HAD to!

5 minutes later all he could think about was you and everything he could feel with you pressed up against him. You seem to have well and truly forgotten he was beneath you and just used him like a chair. You even leaned your head back on his chest and touched his leg slightly when you rested your hand. Everything you did drove him crazy. Jeno could feel blood rushing to parts of him and knew he had to do something fast. "Y/n I have to get up" he said and you made a whine which really didn't help his situation. "But you're so comfy" you said with a smirk and Jeno blinked rapidly, trying to remain calm. He was worried any moment you'd realise what was happening and then you shot Renjun and let out a loud cheer pressing further into his lap. That was too much and Jeno was at his break point. Jeno shot up, picking you up with him, put you down in the chair and ran out of the room as quickly as he could.

You didn't notice what had happened too busy trying to defeat Renjun again but the other guys had. Mark and Haechan were in stitches and rushed to tell Jaemin everything. Johnny came to see if Jeno was okay and told him he could rest in his room if he was too embarrassed or couldn't see you right now. Jeno waited for little Jeno to calm down and then rested in Johnny's room like his hyung suggested. He was having a lie down when there was a knock at the door. For a second he froze, what if it was you? What if you knew? But then the door opened and it was someone even worse.

It was Jeamin.

"You got a boner because of my sister!" he cried and Jeno froze "shit". Jaemin was furious and Jeno tried to explain it. "It was just because she was sat in my lap and bouncing" he said "that was all. Any guy would've reacted the same way". "Why was she even in your lap in the first place?" Jaemin asked and Jeno looked down like a guilty puppy. "I stole her seat and refused to move". "So you wanted her to sit in your lap" Jaemin said and Jeno's blush was enough of an answer. "I knew there was something going on with all your secretive gaming dates when I'm conveniently busy and that weird moment in the kitchen the other week. What do you want with her Jeno?" Jaemin asked and the boy blushed. "I don't know I just think she's really hot okay! We've been talking more and she's really cool and funny. I like her" he admitted. Jaemin stared at him for a few seconds before he sighed. "You're lucky you're one of the nice ones" he said "just don't hurt her and I don't want to see anything. Got it?". "Wait you're giving me permission?" Jeno asked and Jaemin looked at him. "You don't need my permission, she's a grown woman but no I won't stand in the way of it". Jeno was stunned but really thankful and he conveyed that to Jaemin before he left. Jeno rested for a little longer but didn't want to cause a scene so returned later.

Things seemed to have calmed down and he saw you sat with Renjun quietly talking. Jeno felt warm again the second he looked at you so he purposefully went and sat next to Johnny instead. You smiled as he passed and he smiled back but thought he was still too emotional to face you again. Luckily you left 30 minutes later and once you'd gone he had to endure all the guy's teasing. Jaemin conveniently left the room while the guys roasted him. Once they'd ripped him to shreds they started focusing on the positives. "Well she's into you at least" Mark said and Jeno sat forwards "you think so?". "Yeah you could totally see it" Haechan said "well not in the same way as your attraction. She didn't get a boner but she was totally flirting with you". "Yeah and even the way she looked at you was hot" Johnny added "she wants you man". Jeno couldn't stop smiling for the rest of the night.

You apparently wanted him and now there was nothing stopping him from going for you.

Are there any companions you can't stand?

I wouldn't say I have any that I can't stand. Something that's so engaging to me about DA is that the companions have good, bad, and a lot in between. Honestly, I don't hate any of them. There are companions that I have more issues with than others, but I like them all; even, and sometimes especially, the ones that tend to be heavily hated on by the fandom.

The only companion that might fall into this category for me is Sebastian, but I totally acknowledge that I've yet to make an effort to use him when I play DA2. I legit just forget about him. How am I supposed to have a good grasp of his character when I don't engage with him outside of his companion quests? Plus I usually romance Anders so Sebastian always leaves my party in the end with threats of bringing an army down on Kirkwall for not killing Anders, soooo... yeah. Not the greatest impression he's left me with.

I would like to have a more well-rounded opinion of Sebastian because the concept of him is interesting; he's this chantry brother who is also a prince, but his family was murdered so he puts up a bounty on the chantry board [which admittedly is SO funny] and his companion quests are about avenging his family and helping him decide if he should take back his lands or remain a chantry brother. But then I talk to him, I listen to him talk to the other companions, and it's like... oh, the chantry has become his entire personality because the dude was brainwashed and now he's saying shit like the maker was actually the one who freed Fenris from slavery, and when Fenris tells him a story about how Denarius killed a child in a ritual for more power, Sebastian just doubles down that the maker has his reasons, like....babe, c'mon now.

I feel like I've read pieces about him written by fans who love him that are more compellingly written than he is, if that makes sense. Really, I would love to be educated by those who love him, especially Sebastian romancers because of all the love interests in all of DA, he's the one I look at and go, "....okay but why?" I have a lot of fun with character discussions and other perspectives so I mean that sincerely.

Also I think it's worth noting that when I play, I tend to get super into the roleplay of my warden/hawke/inquisitor, but while they have party members they can't stand, I have opinions that are separate from them, y'know?

For example, since I've talked about it a lot recently, my mage Hawke and Aveline butt heads constantly. By the end of Act 3, they're rivalry is heated and Ed's surprised Aveline even sided with him in the end because THAT is how much their relationship deteriorated over the course of the game... but then there's my warrior Hawke who adored Aveline. The two of them were best friends and Aris always gave her the benefit of the doubt, like she had Aveline's back through and through.

I've complained about Aveline a lot in my posts so it probably does sound like I can't stand her, but that's not true. Aveline's actually a companion that fascinates me, like she makes me go, "God, you're such an asshole, tell me more right now." and it drives me crazy how she and Carver are foils, like I love it so much, I could go on and on about how foiled they are, it makes me want to bite something.

It's very easy to look at Aveline and think she's just a bitch, she's a cop, she's a bad character, #Aveline-critical, bad companion, etc. I see it all the time, and not just with her, but with every companion in dragon age, y'know? I'm not saying that's wrong or anything; some characters just don't vibe with you or you have legit reasons for hating them and that's fine. I'm just saying some of it's very surface level unless you make the effort to elaborate.

If you don't like a character, you're less likely to make an effort to understand or see anything positive about them. You're more likely to have confirmation bias, so whenever they do or say anything, you go looking for the worst interpretation. I try not to do this just because for me, that's the "boring" approach to games like this but as we've seen, I'm not immune either... y'know, Sebastian.

But Carver gets this a lot, too, and I think I've made myself clear that Carver is my favorite, I love him, the Hawke twins are S-tier companions and I would throw everyone in Kirkwall into the ocean if it meant Bethany and Carver's happiness.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the characters a lot of fans can't stand are some of my favorites?

Like a lot of people shit on Sera, and I'm like "Nah, that's my girl! Listen, she's got a LOT of internalized issues, but we're working through them okay! She's getting better!"

And Vivienne? Oh, don't get me started on Vivienne, I have a whole deal about her. She's also an asshole and I love her.

My canon inquisitor is Surana who escaped the circle and joined the dalish, becoming Lavellan. Vivienne is a reflection of what Ash could've been if she hadn't run away with Jowan. She played the game of the circle, she stepped wherever she needed to step because Ash knew she was at a disadvantage by being an elf, for one, and for two, not coming from a family with wealth that would give her special privileges. Her downfall was buying into her own hype and believing she couldn't be wrong about Jowan, believing that she could either prevent them from making him tranquil or help him and Lily run away, and believing she was above punishment because she worked her way into being Irving's favorite. Yet it all bit her in the ass and she had to run… so then years later after living outside of the circle and realizing just what the chantry is, how it conditions and abuses mages and shit, she meets Vivienne who also played the game well and came out on top, who now spouts the same shit Ash used to spout and it's makes their dynamic sooo chewable.

Then there's Cullen who's not a companion but I lump him and Josephine in with the companions anyway. They're advisors, they're in the inner circle, they count.

He's such a spineless ass in DA2 like believe me, I get all the criticisms he gets... but he's also fairly polite to Hawke even if they're openly anti-templar, he's softer spoken, and he's unwell after what happened to him in DAO and Meredith's clearly taking advantage of his state... but then he becomes an advisor in DAI who is so done with people's bullshit and blatantly honest about it, like he looks at Chancellor Roderick like "this fucking guy again" and he's so ready to just go for it, y'know? Well... unless you're a pretty lady who bats her eyes at him, then suddenly he doesn't know how words work. Like sometimes I feel crazy because I find him to be so funny in DAI, and overall a compelling character that I enjoy interacting with even when he's being a total asshole. Yeah, there's issues in his writing but I appreciate the vision the writers were going for, even if they stumbled... except for Sheryl Chee, I don't appreciate her contribution of those few posts on the DA forums that everyone uses as a smoking gun to "prove" awful things about him. Nothing gets under my skin more in character discussions than bad faith arguments and there's so much of that when it comes to Cullen.

Actually, while we're on that, can I just add a note that when I first got into this fandom, I saw someone's post about Chee doing an interview where she said all those bad things about Cullen wanting to assault the mage warden and I was like, "What? An interview? What interview?? Where??" and I couldn't find shit until much later when I read another anti-Cullen post that cited a DA forum as the source for her saying those things... so not an interview. I went digging for the forum, went into the way back machine to find it.... only to discover that this smoking gun comes from a fanfiction forum where Mary Kirby was also talking about Sten and catgirls and y'all expect me to take that seriously?

We can have discussions about whether or not Cullen's a bad person or a bad character, but the moment you bring Sheryl Chee into it, I know you're here in bad faith and your argument is void.

Sorry for the tangent and the long answer but this is the stuff I enjoy. I could talk about the characters of DA for ages unprompted that when someone does throw me a bone, I will discuss and gush about them all.
