Sit back and watch - Isabelle Lightwood x M!Reader
Tumblr media
If there was one thing Isabelle enjoyed it was people watching her.
She loved when she stole people's attention just walking down the street or in the club when everyone there wanted a chance to dance with her but she especially enjoyed you watching her.
Which is how you ended up here, sitting back in a chair across from Isabelle's bed and she is completely naked, propped up against the pillows as she played with herself.
She moans as her fingers toy with her clit, then dipping in and out of her pussy like they had been for the last ten minutes.
"Fuck I wish I was the one touching you right now," you say, your cock hard in your pants.
"You will soon handsome," she winks at you, grabbing her vibrator that she set on the bed besides her and flipped it on, "just sit back and watch."
The loud buzzing sent chills down your spine and the moan she let out as she pressed it into her clit was heavenly.
She lowers it to her entrance, coating it in her arousal before twirling it around her clit again.
You intently watch as her pussy pulsates in pleasure and you're so desperate to taste her.
She rolls her hips, the toy now a level setting higher down at her entrance making another wave of arousal gush out of her.
"Izzy," you moan and she smiles knowing exactly how turned on you are watching her.
She pushes the toy inside, pumping it a few times and feeling the vibrations course through her.
She arches her chest, her free hand grasping at her breasts and tugging on her nipples.
She's so close to cumming that she moves the toy back up to her clit, her pussy now wide open and dripping.
You lick your lips, cock throbbing and in awe of how hot she is.
Isabelle firmly presses the vibrator into her clit, moaning loud as she cums.
She slaps her clit with the toy a few times giving herself a few aftershocks before switching it off and laying it down on the bed.
Her hand is on her pussy again, two fingers slipping inside and retracting now covered in cum.
"Want a taste?" She asks, holding her hand to you.
You eagerly get up from the chair, settling in between her legs and sucking her fingers clean.
She bites her lip and glances down at her pussy meaning she was allowing you to finally touch her.
With no hesitation you dive in, your tongue lapping at every part of her.
The taste of her is divine and you moan at how good she feels on your tongue which resonates through her bones making her eyes roll back.
You're sucking on her hard clit, two fingers pumping inside her and she cums again, this time crying your name.
"I bet you want to fuck me now don't you," she says with an evil grin as you give her a few last licks.
You look up at her from between your legs and this is the moment you've been waiting for all night.

Masterlist
Summary: your brother said he would be fine. Is he?
Type: angst.
Pairing: Isabelle Lightwood x reader, Platonic Sebastian Valec x reader.
Word Count: 1100+
Warning: mentions of death, reader in pain, losing part of your soul.
A/n: I've been in a pretty bad mood lately, and it kinda shows.
Tumblr media
It was strange, the way your brother left, or at least you thought it was, no one else thought it was. It only got worse when one cold night, when you were walking down the streets of London, pain filled your body as your Parabatai rune slowly faded. The pain was like nothing you had ever experienced. You had weakly stumbled back the way you came and slammed through the doors of the London institute. Your skin was frail by the time that someone had helped you, sweat had gathered at the base of your forehead, and your skin was burning.
Never had you thought that Sebastian would die. He was always the better fighter. Your brother flashed through your mind; his smile was the most distinctive you could catch. Your eyes flicked back and forth under your eye lids as you groaned in pain once more. Your muscles spasmed as another shock of pain shot through your body once more, your screams echoed through the institute.
“You’re so annoying,” you whined as your brother held your stele up with one arm. Every time you tried to reach it, but every time you jumped, he would suddenly pull his hand back, making you huff in frustration.
“Am I?” he retorted an amused grin painted on his face. You jumped once more, and the memory faded as you did.
You could vaguely feel someone’s hands under your thighs, your body leaving the slight comfort of the bed you were placed upon earlier. The faint reassurance that was whispered into your ear as they walked with you in their arms. The ache of your body had slightly diminished, but the growing heat that flashed through your body had grown almost unbearable. Suddenly, your body felt wobbly, a feeling you had felt multiple times. A portal, but to where? You didn’t have time to ponder that thought because before you knew it, another rush of pain flushed through your body. Your voice broke as your pained scream pierced through the eery silence on wherever you had been portaled.
“You’re not alone,” you whispered as you held him close. “I’ll be here till the end,” his glossy eyes looked up, connecting to your genuine ones. Every time he had felt weak, you had made him feel strong. Every time you felt like giving up, he was there for you.
“Promise?” he asked, his voice was quiet and hesitant. This had been the day that you had decided he was all you had and that you would do anything for him. He was your brother. Your only family.
“Promise.”
“What happened?” You heard a voice ask as the pain subsided the tiniest bit. Just enough for you to focus on your surroundings. However, no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t open your eyes. You felt the weight on your chest get heavier. Your hands and legs had been tied to the edges of the bed, so you didn’t hurt yourself. The person didn’t respond but simply lifted your shirt slightly, showing them the slowly fading rune. The rune was almost half-way faded.
“Why bring her here?” another voice asked. You thrashed against the restraints, gritting your teeth.
“Her brother’s here, “ the person informed, “He’s her Parabatai. His name is Sebastian.”
Your breathing got quicker. It felt as though your lungs were rejecting air as your eyebrows screwed tightly together. In panic, you thrashed harder against the restraints, the pain quickly becoming too much for you to consciously bear. As you succumbed to the overwhelming darkness, you were welcomed by another memory.
Your hand was engulfed in Sebastian’s as the blew fire around you roared. “Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee,” he chanted as he looked fixedly into your eyes.
“For whither thou goest, I will go,” you chanted as you both stared into each other’s eyes. “And where thou lodgest, thy people will be my people, thy god will be my god.”
“When thou diest, I will die. And there I will be buried. The Angel do so to me.” He chants back, his grip upon your arm tightening ever so slightly.
“If aught but death part thee and me.” You both chant together, your voices mixing as the fire glowed impossibly bright, and a searing pain on your stomach presented itself. Sebastian winced as your hand tightened over his arm before he copied your actions.
You choked on your breath before your eyes snapped open. “Sebastian?” You breathed; your eyes were wild as you glanced around the room in a frenzy. Your eyes caught on the faces of three people watching you, calculating your next move. “Where’s my brother, where am I?” you asked as you slipped out of the bed.
“You’re in the New York institute,” a voice to your left responded, James, your brother’s best friend. “Listen, I’m going to need you to sit down.” He spoke sternly as he pointed down to the bed.
“No, what? Are you crazy?” You eyed him; the dull ache of your body was still presented. “Somethings wrong. I need to find my brother.” You pat your pants looking for your stele, finding your pockets empty you titled your head at James. “Where is it?” You snapped as you looked at him expectantly, holding your hand out, “Give it.”
James simply shook his head, “I don’t think that’s a good idea,” he responded as his eyes lingered on your stomach.
You followed his gazed down at your covered stomach, and his eyes were rested at your Parabatai rune. Lifting your shirt, you stifled a sob. What used to be a mark representing a soul bond was now faded into nothing on your stomach. Your arm reached for the wall as nausea rushed through your head. Everything was fuzzy. You felt as though a weight was pushing you down; causing you to lose balance.
“Woah,” James spoke as he rushed towards your fragile figure, his arms wrapped around your waist as he pulled you into him. “It’s okay, it’s going to all be okay,” he coaxed as he held your cheeks. “I’m here.”
A deep sob racked through your chest.
That was by far the worst day of your life. It was safe to say that you never recovered, you never went back to London. You couldn’t. Your transferred to Idris leaving behind all the memories you held of your brother. James had helped considerably, never leaving your side. He quickly became the only person that you could rely on.
You hadn’t forgotten about the people that had helped you the first days for found out. You hadn’t forgotten her. You could never. She was beautiful, her curly ebony hair that fell down her back and her small smile. She would frown every time you reminisced about your brother. She knew that it only made you sad. Everything has changed. Your brother was no longer with you, and a part of your soul was lost with him. However, she bought you the tiniest bit of relief in your pain.

It's a bad idea, right?
Series: The Mortal Instruments
Pairing: Jace Wayland x Fem!Reader
Genre: Angst to Fluff, Friends to Lovers
Warnings: Possibly OOC Jace, slight description of Reader (mainly that Jace is taller than her), use of Y/N. All characters are aged 18+.
Summary:
Y/N has a Warlock ex that seems to have her under his spell, metaphorically speaking, and every time he calls, she answers.
Jace has had enough of watching her go back to him repeatedly. Because they're friends, definitely not because he's in love with her or anything.
A/N: Guys, I have finally caved into my desires and am diving deep into the world of The Mortal Instruments. I watched most of the show a few years ago and saw the movie a few days ago, which led me to buy a box set of the 6 Mortal Instruments books. I am just about halfway through The City of Bones, so I still have a lot of learning to do. Forgive me if I need to correct something.
Also, I love all the show characters, but Movie Jace feels closer to Book Jace than Show Jace, so I am committed to Movie Jace for visual representation and Movie Jace only.
Does that make sense to you? Yes? Cool.
Tumblr media
"You were where last night?" Izzy asked her a bit too loudly as she and Y/N walked into the weapons room where Alec and Jace were working on cleaning their weapons used from the previous mission.
Y/N shushed her as the two boys looked over, "Seriously, whatever happened to private girl talk?"
Izzy rolled her eyes, speaking lower than before so the guys wouldn't hear, "What ever happened to cutting him out of your life? Finding a new guy to get in your bed to get over him, that's why we went to Pandemonium last night, remember?"
Y/N huffed in response. Of course, she knew that's why Izzy and Clary dragged her to Pandemonium. It was a plan that she had yet to be very keen on. Izzy had gone to powder her nose, and Clary went to dance when Demetrius Black approached her on the dance floor, convincing her to leave with him.
It never took much convincing. He never went to Pandemonium, so she thought it was safe, but alas, she woke up in his bed again with her favorite tea made just the way she liked it on the nightstand next to her. He was nowhere to be seen.
Izzy rolled her eyes at the lack of response, "I need to put a tracker on you, like an outdoor cat." She turned on her heels and walked away.
Y/N sighed, running a hand through her hair before leaving the weapons room. She needed to punch something, so she soon found her way to the training room, where a punching bag sat calmly in the middle.
Then she beat the shit out of it.
"Stupid Demetrius and his stupidly charming attitude."
One Two.
"Stupid me for falling for it, again."
One Two Three.
"And stupid Mundane girl who couldn't keep her grimy hands to herself!"
With enough force of one last punch, the bag flew backward, hitting the wall as she let out a long groan of anger.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" Jace's voice appeared behind her making her jump out of her skin.
"Jesus Christ,"
"Not exactly." He smirked, but she ignored his comment.
"Do you feel the need to scare everyone or just me? Am I that special?" Sarcasm dripped from her lips as she began walking over to the punching bag so she could put it back in its usual location.
"Stop dodging my question. Do you want to talk about why you punched the bag across the room?"
She signed, letting the bag stand back up, "Will you try not to make fun of me for at least ten minutes if I tell you."
He chuckled, leaning against a pillar with his signature smug look, "I'll try my very best."
She couldn't look him in the eye, but she told him everything. From Izzy's plan to it failing when she left her alone for not even five minutes to waking up in her ex's bed again.
His expression was stoic throughout the entire time she was speaking; all of Jace's smugness and ego quickly flushed away as envy flooded his veins.
She didn't notice his change in expression because she refused to look at him.
"I know it's stupid, but it's like he put a spell on me."
"You have a permanent ruin to block any Warlock from using that magic on you."
She groaned, "I meant metaphorically." She plopped down on the bench and ran a hand through her hair.
"Well, I don't even know what you see in the Warlock-"
"Alec is with Mangus, and you never have anything to say about that, but when I date a Downworlder who has helped us just as much as Mangus has, you suddenly have an issue?"
He didn't have a chance to think before he spoke, blurting out, "I can't stand to see you hurting yourself with someone who doesn't deserve you."
Her head snaps to finally make eye contact; she lets her emotions talk without knowing what to think, "You don't get to decide who deserves me, Jace. You're not my father, and you're not my brother. Don't act like it."
He stepped closer to where she was sitting, "He cheated on you. Remember that? You cried to Clary and Izzy for days about it, then you cried yourself to sleep after all that," He saw the shocked look on her face, "We share a wall, remember? The same wall both of our beds are up against. I heard it all and witnessed you tear yourself apart from all the insecurities he gave you. So yes, I may not be in a position to say it, but I can say for certain that he doesn't deserve you."
The tension between the two shadow hunters was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. Neither of them said anything else, just stared at each other until she stood up and brushed past him.
"Thanks for the reminder."
Jace only watched as she left the room, wanting to walk after her but feeling paralyzed where he stood. He cursed under his breath and looked down at his feet.
It was his turn to send the punching bag flying across the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That night, the group went on a mission to track down a Vampire, killing humans left and right. Clary had poked around through the different nests in the city with Alec and Izzy, but none of them seemed to be acquainted with the rouge Vampire.
Jace and Y/N were tasked with searching Pandemonium for the Vampire or any information retaining it.
Things between them were still tense, and the others could see it, but Jace had been the one to wordlessly follow her to Pandemonium. The music was loud and beating through her head, making the memories from the night prior resurface, but she shook it off as she looked around for any suspicious Downworld behavior.
She and Jace had split up in the crowd, which meant she was alone when she felt her phone buzz in her back pocket. She pulled it out seeing a text from Demetrius:
Demetrius: I can tell you're working from how you dress tonight, but meet me at the bar. I might have the information you are searching for. ;)
Tensing up, she looks over at the bar seeing Demetrius leaning against it in all his glory, smirking knowingly at her. She pushed her hurt deep down and walked over to him.
"Well, you look lovely tonight, darling." He said, reaching out to touch her hair when she stopped about two feet away, but she smacked his hand away quickly.
"No time for pleasantries, Demetrius. Do you know anything about a Rouge Vampire, or are you wasting my time?"
"Playing hard to get tonight? Let me buy you a drink." He said as he waved to the bartender to get his attention.
She scoffed, shaking her head, "I knew this was a waste of time--" She stopped speaking when she backed into someone's chest; she didn't even need to look up to know it was Jace. She didn't realize he found them.
Jace didn't move at the contact; he only stared at Demetrius, who noticed he was standing there because she had stopped speaking.
"Oh look," he commented, bored, "It's the guard dog. Don't you have anything better to do than following her around like a lost puppy?"
"We're working, Demetrius." She spoke as Jace opened his mouth, cutting him off before a fight could break out, "Since you don't actually have any information for me, I am going to leave."
She brushed past Jace, leaving the two boys at the bar and disappearing into the crowd.
Jace followed her with his eyes until he knew she was out of earshot. Looking back at Demetrius with a glare that could kill a thousand men, he said, "If you come near her again, I will not hesitate to track you down and kill you myself."
Demetrius smirked, taking a sip from his drink, "And break The Clave's precious rules? From what she told me, you are one of those who respect the Covenant more than anything."
Jace took two steps forward, standing toe to toe with the Warlock, a look of pure hatred in his eyes, "I would break a thousand rules if it made her happy. I would break a thousand rules to make sure she is safe. Don't test me, Warlock."
Demetrius took another sip of his drink, "I always knew, from the moment I had the displeasure of meeting you, that you were in love with her. I watched as you protected her like a lovesick puppy even though she was head over heels in love with me. Now that she is single, why haven't you swept her off her feet to prevent her from falling into my bed?"
He leaned close to his ear, saying just above a whisper, "Maybe it's because you know she will never love you back."
Jace shoved him away, stalking off to get back to work. Only to watch as she left the storage room and in his direction; as she passed him, she said, "Threat has been neutralized, let's get out of here."
She was annoyed. Mostly at herself for thinking he wouldn't come back to her favorite club to antagonize her, but also at the fact that she had to take on a Vampire by herself because Jace decided to have a little chat with her ex.
At the same time, she was proud of herself for finally avoiding Demetrius' charm like the plague. Progress is Progress.
As she exited Pandemonium, she pulled out her phone and started texting Clary to let them know the Vampire was found and taken care of, but Jace pulled her phone out of her hands.
"I'll take that." He said as he went to her contacts lists.
Her jaw dropped, "Jace! Give that back!" She snapped, watching him smirk at her phone as he tapped the screen a few times before giving it back to her.
"First step, blocking your ex's number."
She rolled her eyes and brushed passed him. Raising her hand, a cab drove up to her almost immediately.
"How do you always get cabs so quickly?" He muttered loud enough for her to hear as he stood behind her protectively.
"It's a gift," she said flatly, getting into the cab and scooting over so Jace could get in, even though she wanted him to get his own taxi.
"You cant just avoid me forever." He said into her ear once she got comfortable after telling the driver where to drop them off.
She crossed her arms, staring straight ahead, "Watch me."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jace, let you fight the Vampire by yourself?" Izzy asked her in the kitchen of the Institute, snacking on popcorn with Clary on the opposite side of her as the three girls usually did after a hunt.
"He didn't let me; he was at the bar talking with Demetrius. I thought he followed me into the crowd when I left the bar, but he wasn't behind me when I found the Vampire and pointed it out to him." She ran a hand through her hair and looked down, "I didn't want to lose him, so I followed the Vampire into the storage room, scared off the mundane that was with him, and killed the bloodsucker."
Clary laughed, "And you did it by yourself."
Y/N shrugged, "It was easy because he was a new Vampire who didn't have anyone to guide him."
"What did Jace say when you told him you took care of it?" Izzy tossed another piece of Popcorn into Clary's mouth, and she caught it successfully.
"He didn't react, just followed me out and got rid of Demetrius' contact on my phone."
Clary nearly choked on her popcorn before swallowing it, "He did what?"
Sighing, she nodded, "Yeah, talk about quitting cold turkey."
Izzy giggled, elbowing Clary lightly. "Maybe Jace will finally start courting her."
Y/N raised an eyebrow; Jace was into someone? That was new information, "Courting who? We don't come into contact with many shadow hunters unless he has a secret Mundane lover."
Blinking, Izzy looked from Clary to Y/N and back to Clary, "Is she serious?"
"I think she is."
"Okay, what are you two going on about?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest, blinking at the two of them.
"How do we put this nicely-" Clary began speaking, but Izzy cut her off, "Jace has been in love with you since we were thirteen."
Taken aback, all Y/N could do was laugh, "What? No! You guys are crazy. The only person Jace loves is himself." She rolled her eyes, grabbing a few pieces of popcorn.
Clary spoke up, "When I first learned I was a Shadow Hunter and Jace brought me to the institute, I thought he was cute, but then I saw the way he looked at you, and I thought you two were a thing for a whole month until I saw you making out with a mundane near Pandemonium."
"I remember that!" Izzy giggled, turning to Y/N, "Clary freaked out and came running to me saying that you cheated on Jace and that we needed to tell him. It was so funny trying to explain to her that the two of you weren't a thing."
"My point is," Clary interjected, looking at Y/N, "Jace Wayland has been pining over you for so long. He's extra protective of you. When you came home crying a few months ago because the dirtbag cheated on you, Alec had to stop him from hunting him down and killing him without a second thought."
Y/N sank in her chair, blinking, "I had no idea."
"You're just a little oblivious; it's okay," Izzy said, patting her head.
She shook her head, "It's late. I'm going to bed."
She exited the chair and said goodnight to the two girls before leaving the kitchen.
She was going to bed, but then her feet decided to take her to where she knew Jace would be at this time of night.
The garden.
She opened the door quietly, searching for the blond among the flowers and plants, when she spotted him sitting on a bench. He was reading a book that she couldn't read the title of because of how old it was. She walked over to him and placed her hands in her sweater pockets, "You know how to read?"
He looked up at her from his book, "Sneaking up on people is supposed to be my thing."
"You'll have to learn how to share. May I sit?"
He nodded, closing the book with a bookmark between the pages, and moved to one side of the bench to make room for her to sit, "Are you okay?"
She nodded, "I will be. Thank you for being there for me back at Pandemonium and in the training room earlier today. I needed to hear the truth. Even though my stance on the fact you need to work on your comforting skills stays intact." She teased him lightly, making him chuckle.
"I'm sorry you had to deal with the Vampire alone while I was defending your honor; it won't ever happen again."
"It better not." She chuckled, leaning back and relaxing on the bench, stifling a yawn, "Because I might just have to kill you myself, then."
"As if you would dare lay a mark on my greatest asset." He gestured to his face making Y/N roll her eyes and slapped his hand away.
"That ego of yours is going to be the death of me one day. Do I have to worry about you falling in love with your own reflection and drowning because of it like Narcissus?"
Letting out a laugh, Jace shook his head, looking up at the time on his watch, the very one she had gotten him for his last birthday, "It's getting late. You need rest."
"So do you," she fired back, standing up and glaring at him, "We need you at the top of your game, come on."
He chuckled, standing up and holding the book against his hip as they left the garden together and walked through the Institute.
"Do you need some tea to help you relax?" She asked, tilting her head up at him.
He smiled down at her, "No, I can manage."
They approached their rooms silently, he walked her to her door, and she nodded, "Goodnight, Jace."
He watched as she disappeared into her room, closing the door behind her, but he didn't move to his room next door, even though he should have.
No, he thought about how he realized Demetrius' words were true. He loved her and didn't know what to do with this information.
He raised his hand to knock on her door again, wanting to get the rejection over with, but just before his fist could make contact with the wood, the door opened, followed by her voice saying, "Jace, wait." before getting cut off by realizing he was standing there still.
The two stood there wordlessly, staring at each other. No one knew who made the first move that night, but soon Y/N felt his hands cupping her face as their lips touched.
It felt right, kissing Jace; he was gentle yet passionate, as if he were making up for the lost time, which he was. As it turned out, so was she.
When they broke apart for air, nothing could stop their mutual smiles from appearing on their faces as Jace rested his forehead on hers.
"Sleep in my room tonight? We can talk about this in the morning."
He nodded, picking her up over his left shoulder, causing a light squeal to leave her lips as he walked into the room, closing the door with his foot.

Try and stop me Part 2 - Shadowhunters.
Summary: You seek some comfort for you newly festering wound.
Warnings: Changing clothes, pet names, angst, crying, heartbreak.
Pairing: Lightwood family x Adopted!reader.
Word count: 1,370.
Note: This may be a little angsty projection from me so I apologise profusely.
Tumblr media
I hadn't thought through this as much as I should have considering it was pouncing down with rain and I was wearing Jeans, black boots and a thin jumper. Most people would have grabbed a coat but I was so angry and aching to leave that I hadn't thought about it. So as I stomped through the streets, drenched and freezing I cursed myself thoroughly.
I had told Jace, Alec and Izzy they would know where to find me but I didn't even know where I was going. I let my mind zone out and wander, my feet carrying me wherever they felt like. Puddles splattered up my calves soaking me to the bone as I just walked and walked. All I could think of was how Robert was lucky I didn't reveal what I knew but my Mom didn't deserve the heartache of that so I had kept his filthy secret though every fibre of my being screamed against it.
The already dark skies blackened as the evening turned to night and I was violently shivering as I walked down the streets, ignoring the looks I was getting off Mundanes. My aching feet carried me down street after street, alley after alley until they carried me to an apartment I didn't care to pay attention to. Icy hands clenched as they knocked painfully against the wooden door that stood before me. I felt like my eyes had sunk into their sockets, long dried up from tears, and my lips were chapped from the cold and me biting them. I waited patiently as my head throbbed and pounded before knocking on much louder this time. A voice behind the door sounded extremely annoyed at the disturbance and the locks on the door jiggled and clicked open after a few moments.
"So help me if this isn't important then I will turn you into a hamster and keep you in a cage!" The door swung open and I lifted my head wearily to meet the gaze of the person, who was dressed in silk pyjamas. "Y/N? What on earth happened to you?" Magnus' voice softened considerably at my state and I just glanced down at Chairman Meow who wound himself between the Warlock's legs. My eyes welled up, much to my surprise, at the softness of his voice.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, it's just, that I'm not welcome at the institute at the moment." I could barely speak above a scratchy whisper. "I just let my feet carry me and they brought me here. I was kind of hoping you would know what to do." My eyebrows furrowed as I spoke, confusing myself with what I wanted from him. Magnus' hand reached up and tucked a dripping straggle of hair behind my ear as I trailed off.
"Come in Cupcake, let's get you warmed up." Gentle hands guided me into the apartment and I stood silently as he wandered around getting towels and clothes for me. My mind was foggy until he stood in front of me and lifted my chin with his finger. My lip trembled as I stared into his eyes, willing myself not to cry anymore.
"He doesn't want me Mags, he never did." A look of confusion took over his features. "Robert doesn't want me. I'm not good enough. I tried to be, but I'm not." The warlock shook his head gently.
"Let's get you comfortable and then we'll talk. You'll get ill if you stay in these any longer. You're too fragile for magic at the moment so by hand will have to do." I was almost catatonic as he took me to the bathroom to change but I just stood in the middle of the room, not being able to move as my head was overloaded with thoughts. Eventually, he gave up and got me stripped out of the sodden wet clothes, incredibly respectfully, before slipping me into a pair of his grey bed joggers and a long-sleeved t-shirt. His warm hands then guided me back into the living room and onto the cloud-like cushions of the sofa. Within moments I had a hot cup of tea on the coffee table, a hot water bottle on my lap, a blanket around my shoulders and a very concerned-looking Magnus who had sat himself beside me giving me his full attention.
"We were having dinner as a family and he asked me why I hadn't been training so I explained how I'd fallen behind on the books and he started to tell me how I should have caught up because I'd had four years to get it done and that I'm lazy and don't work hard enough." My voice was hoarse and tired. "He never wanted me, Magnus, from the moment Maryse took me in he's looked through me like I'm a ghost. He told me I've never really been a Lightwood, that I take advantage of them." I clenched my fingers together as I spat out his words. "He wishes he hadn't let Mom take me in."
"Don't say that Pumpkin, of course, he wants you, you're his daughter too." I laughed bitterly as the first lot of tears slipped out.
"No, that's the thing. He said it, out loud, in from of Mom, Jace, Alec and Izzy. He said they didn't have to take me in and he was starting to wish they hadn't." I watched as his eyes widened in horror and his thumb brushed my knuckles softly. My lip trembled like a child's whilst my chest heaved.
"I just wanted him to see me. I wanted him to be proud of me and to love me like he loves them. I just wanted him to notice how hard I was trying, wanted him to see how everything I did was to make him happy." My voice broke and my vision blurred with tears. "I just wanted a dad. I've never asked them for anything. But I just wanted him to be my dad." Instantly I broke and my barriers released. My face streamed and I fell forward, letting Magnus catch me against his chest holding me as close as he could. My sobs and wails filled the room as my heart ached in my chest though it threatened to jump out.
The pain that I felt was nothing like I had felt before. Not even like what I felt after my parents abandoned me because this time I had lost someone that I actually loved. Lighting strikes of anguish struck me over and over, doubling me over to the point where I struggled to breathe from my crying. As my body shook, the force of it made Magnus' body shake too though he didn't mind. The Warlock held me, a hand on my back and the other cradling my head as his own tears dripped into my hair. I could hear myself saying the same words as I sobbed; He doesn't want me, it was like venom to my system, taking over and shutting it down, breaking me down by the second until I lay boneless in the arms of the Downworlder.
I didn't have the energy to cry anymore, didn't have the words to make myself feel better, didn't have the frame of mind to think clearly or the motivation to try and deal with this properly. My sobs had stopped and silent tears ran down my reddened cheeks and onto Magnus' already-soaked pyjama shirt as Chairman Meow nuzzled into my hands, providing his own comfort which I gladly accepted.
"Get some rest Pumpkin, we'll talk about this when you've got a little more energy." Magnus swung my legs up on the sofa and settled so I was lying with my head on his chest as he wrapped me up in a mountain of blankets. My skin was still cold to touch and I burrowed against his warm skin with a tired sigh as I closed my eyes and willed sleep to come. Eventually, I managed to drift off to the sound of the Warlock's heartbeat, his soft humming of an unfamiliar song and the gentle purrs of the cat that was curled up on his chest beside me.

Imagine: Both you and Alec being annoyed with Jace's attitude towards Clary.
Tumblr media
Alec: So...are we not going to deal with the fact that's she's Valentine's daughter.
Jace: She's proved her loyalty, Alec, let it go.
Y/n: No! We're not going to just let it go Jace, for all we know, her mother and father could've put her up to this whole plan and all this “I have to find my mom!” bullshit is just an act.
Clary: I'm a shadowhunter as much as you are, I never been in contact with Valentine. I just find out he's dad today, same as you did.
Tumblr media
Y/n: Yeah, because what you're telling us the truth and all you did since you got here was complain over and over again. Run into dangerous situations which ends in us [points to himself and the rest of the other] having to save your ass.
Jace: Y/n! Relax.
Y/n: Don't tell me relax, we have to right to question her and her motives. She just showed up out of the blue and all of a sudden, she's Valentine's daughter. That's such a coincidence.
Izzy: She hasn't done anything that suggests , she's working with Valentine.
Jace: Exactly.
Alec: You know Jace, if you're so desperate to get laid, just do what Isabelle does and go sleep with a faerie.
Jace: [Grabs him by his jacket] I'll watch what I'm saying, if I were you Alec.
Alec: Oh yeah...or else what, what are going do Jace...hit me?
Clary: Jace! Let him go!
Jace: If you don't stop talking, I will.
Izzy: Alec! Jace! Guys! Just let it go! When the time comes, she'll pick her side, until then she's one of us. Okay! So just let it go.
Jace: Fine. [Releases Alec]
Alec: Yeah, whatever I'll let it go.
Izzy: [Turns towards you] Y/n, cmon, just let it go, when the time comes we'll decide what to do then.
Y/n: I'll let it go.
Izzy: Great! Let's calm down no- [Gets cut off]
Y/n: If it ever comes down to you or my team, I'm choosing them, because I don't see you as one of us or part of this team. Because to me you're not one of us, you might have the abilities or whateva. But at the end of the day, you have the mentality of a mundane and that's all your mother's fault.
Clary: She was just trying to protect me.
Y/n: Well, she did a pretty shitty job at it, since you still got yourself and us caught up in all your family drama with daddy. It gonna come a day, where you mother choices leads someone to her death, and if you know what's good for you both, it better be her own or yours. Because I'm not afraid of finishing tha job and disposing of you.

Request: Anonymous asked: Could I please have an imagine where the reader is the younger half-sister (warlock) of Magnus Bane and when she meets Isabelle Lightwood she is obviously smitten (as is Isabelle). Alec and Magnus then try to play matchmaker for their sisters?
Read on Wattpad
Read on AO3
“Hurry!” Izzy yelled and turned around. Grabbing your hand she pulled you up a ledge and away from the demon that was chasing you. Jace emerged from the shadows and cornered it while Magnus came from another direction. Once it was dealt with, Izzy led the way out of the building and up onto the rooftops.
You stumbled out of the building and took a deep breath as you followed her. The tops of the buildings caught the wind and it allowed you to slowly take in cold air and calm yourself. “Not used to this kind of fun?” “Fun!” You snapped and looked at Izzy who winked at you. Clearing your throat you recovered yourself and gave a flirty smile. “I have more fun to attend to elsewhere.” Snapping your fingers you vanished. Izzy smiled to herself until she spotted Magnus watching her. Turning away she started to walk off not liking the knowing look that your brother was giving her. “I think it’s time for a push.” Magnus said. Alec groaned and glanced at Magnus who was watching Jace hurry after Izzy. “No. Don’t push them. It’ll just make Izzy difficult.” Alec pleaded. Magnus smiled as he vanished the same way you had and was gone from view. Alec groaned knowing that the next few weeks were going to be rather dramatic. At least on his sister's part.
************
“What are we going to do?” Magnus said. You had been walking through Pandemonium looking for something to do as you sipped a colourful drink in your hand. “Do about what?” You asked and he smiled. “Your infatuation with the shadowhunter." He started to walk away and you quickly followed him. "What are you talking about?" You asked sharply and frowned at him. "I see it all you know. The sly glances, the way you smile to yourself and the lack of lovers all of a sudden. It's pretty obvious. Just because they miss the signs doesn't mean that I do." He was satisfied with what he said until you shrugged dismissively. Deciding that it wouldn't do to just push you towards Izzy, Magnus left you alone for the rest of the evening. He called Alex early the next day and welcomed him into his living room. "What're you planning, Magnus?" He asked when he saw the look on the warlock's face. "Why must everyone insist I am always up to something?" Magnus grumbled. "Well. Are you?" Alec asked. He smiled when Magnus' face fell. "Yes. But that's beside the point. What are we going to do about our respective sisters?" Magnus asked. Alec stared at him for a moment and huffed. “Nothing. I’m not going to get in between the two of them.” Alec said quickly. Magnus chuckled and gestured for Alec to sit with him. “They won't like us meddling.” “Who says they have to know?” Magnus asked and produced a small bottle of silvery blue liquid from thin air. “I’m not using any kind of potion or magic.” Alec said reluctantly. “All it is is a truth potion. One drop each and for the next few seconds, they will be helpless to say anything other than what they truly want to say. We could even make sure that it’s just the two of them together.” Magnus offered. Alec stared at the bottle. All his sister talked about was you. Which was fine at first but frankly he had begun to wonder if he had ever been so infuriating when he used to talk about Jace, before meeting Magnus. “Fine. But only if it’s just the two of them alone. I won't let them be humiliated.” Alec said. He pointed a finger at Magnus and found, deep down, he assumed Magnus wouldn’t mind embarrassing you a little. They put the plan into motion at the weekend. Inviting you over for dinner and hoping that the two of you might happen to confess your feelings before they got the potion part of the plan. “They’re just awkwardly looking at each other over the table.” Alec whispered loudly to Magnus who tutted and joined him at the kitchen door, peeking through and watching the pair of you. “Oh. they are.” He muttered. Alec frowned and glanced at Magnus. “Did you think I was joking?” Alec asked and Magnus pulled him away when Izzy spotted the pair of them watching. “No. I was just hoping there was something telepathic going on but nothing. We have no choice but the potion.” Magnus said as he headed over to the drinks he’d been making. Alec helped him measure out the drops into the drinks. “Thirty seconds. That’s all and it wears off. Any longer than that and I feel rude.” “Rude doesn’t quite describe it.” Alec said mostly to himself and followed Magnus out with their drinks. The two of you happily took them and drank while talking. You started to feel strangely warm and relaxed. When you realised what Magnus had done it was too late to do anything about it. “I was wondering how you felt about Izzy.” Magnus said before you could argue with him and waste the time you had under the effects of the drink. “I-I like her.” You said before you could think of a way to stop your body from betraying you. You glared at your brother while Izzy’s eyes widened. “Oh good because I like you too.” Izzy said quickly. The potion wore off before anyone else could say anything. “I. Don’t know what just happened.” Izzy said. Then she started to look upset and stormed off. Alec hurried after her. “That was a cruel thing to do!” You snapped at Magnus. He gestured as if he agreed and then shrugged. “Perhaps. But these mortals don’t live long and you might as well have a great love instead of pining and moping around here. You bring the mood down.” Magnus said quickly. He knew it would make you angry and that you’d go after Izzy.
“Why would you do that to me Alec?” Izzy asked. He sighed and scratched at his chin nervously as she hurried to the door. “I just wanted to help.” He said lamely. She turned back, planning on yelling but saw you behind him. “Help.” You said coldly. Alec jumped and turned, looking guilty and then retreated back into the apartment. You stayed with Izzy who was rooted to the spot. “Perhaps we should start over. Without a spell.” You offered. Izzy nodded and smiled. “I do like you.” she said with a flirty smile. “I like you too.” You answered. “We gathered that!” Magnus yelled from inside. “Why don’t we go somewhere without these two?” You offered and Izzy agreed, happily following you out into the street. “I hope them being mad at us was worth it.” Alec said once you’d both left. Magnus tutted and sipped his drink. “(Y/N) only holds grudges for a few hundred years, we’ll be fine.” He said casually. Alec gave him a withering look before nursing his own drink.

You were sat at your vanity in your room at the institute taking your hair out of its style after going out with Isabelle for your birthday. You were brushing your hair when you heard a knock at your door.
“Come in!” You yelled to whoever was at the door across the room.
The door opened and you looked at your mirror to see who came in. It was Jace. He gently closed your door and made eye contact with your reflection.
“Jace, what are you doing here?” You turned around.
“I wanted to give my wonderful girlfriend her birthday present without everyone around.”
He strode over to where you sat.
“Jace, you know you didn’t have to get me anything.”
“Of course I did, darling. It’s your birthday.”
Your heart melted at his nickname for you. He pulled a small box out of his pocket and handed it to you. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. You opened the box to see a silver heart shaped locket. You opened it up and there was a picture of you, Jace, Izzy, Alec, and Clary in it on one side and on the other there was a picture of just you and Jace. Your eyes softened at the pictures and you looked back up at Jace.
“Jace, I love it.” You breathed out.
“Look at the back of it.”
You furrowed your eyebrows but didn’t question it as you flipped the heart to see something engraved in cursive on the back.
Omnia vincit amor
Love conquers all.
The Latin phrase he always said to you. You looked back up to Jace who was looking at you with a smile.
“Here let me put it on you.” He offered.
You handed him the box and he took the necklace out. You turned back around and looked in the mirror, grabbing your hair out of the way. Jace unclasped the necklace and put it around your neck. As he closed it his fingers brushed against the back of your neck causing butterflies in your stomach. Once he finished, his hands slid to your shoulders. You reached up and held the necklace before turning back to him. Your eyes met once again. Your eyes flicked towards his lips. He must have been thinking the same thing because leaned down and kissed you on your lips.
“I love you, happy birthday darling.”

-------------------------
The institute shone in holiday lights. It took everyone hours to decorate the inside of the institute. You could still hear Jace grumbling in your ear about how pointless the entire thing was. But you all had persevered. The institute looked so glorious. Many pictures were taken because everyone was very proud of the results.
Magnus summoned most of the decorations, others were made by everyone in attendance (even Jace though he wasn’t given a choice), and some even came from respective childhoods.
The halls were filled with the sound of holiday music as you all decorated. With the occasional argument over decorations, (and the mishap where Max accidentally set multiple trees on fire), you were all putting in work. The institute truly looked like a Christmas card.
Jace, being the angsty adult teenager he is, kept pestering you about when dinner was going to get there.
....................
Last night was Christmas Eve and though the majority were neither religious or didn’t celebrate Christmas, it was agreed to get together to celebrate the holidays that night.
The institute smelled delightful with multiple pastries and appetizers adoring the tables.
First, you waited for everyone to show up. You and Jace got there early as the Lightwood siblings had agreed to help their mother with preparing the food. You decided to come along with Jace because you thought there was no point waiting three more hours waiting at home when you could show up early and help your mother-in-law. Jace hadn’t been looking forward to helping Mayrse cook and clean, any more than he was excited to see what food Isabelle decided to bring.
When you portalled into the institute you immediately heard chatter in the kitchen.
After setting down your bags of presents by the tree, you followed the noise and sure enough, Isabelle, Alec, Simon, and Maryse were already there. Mayse was standing very intimidatingly in the center of the kitchen giving everyone orders with a wave of the knife she was holding.
“Ah, the perfect picture of Shadowhunter holidays.” Jace said announcing your presence
Mayrses head had snapped towards the two of you and she smiled immediately embracing her adopted son, and you as well (to your surprise).
“Good, you’re here. Jace, go help Alec with the stuffing. Dear, if you could help Simon and Isabelle with the mashed potatoes that would be lovely.”
Simon looked like he was meant for a baking show, with a holiday apron and white chefs hat. He seemed very concerned as he watched his fiance pour things into the bowl. When you came over he smiled, happy to not have to be the one to tell Isabelle that she wasn’t following the recipe correctly and therefore getting snapped at.
And so the next few hours passed with a lot of orders from Maryse and annoyed debate from Isabelle after she considered putting brownie batter in the mashed potatoes.
........
Then, Luke and Jocelyn showed up holding ceramic bowls filled with food.
Clary came only a few moments later her red hair disheveled and covered with snow, a bag clearly filled with presents hung at her side.
Last, but certainly not least, coming fashionably late, was Magnus and a well dressed Max.
Unfortunately Robert Lightwood had some things in Alicante that he couldn’t be excused for. So he was unable to join.
They invited Aline and her family but they were spending Christmas with Aline’s girlfriend, Helen, and the rest of the Blackthorn family.
Greetings went by swiftly and then everyone sat down and ate dinner.
Afterwards multiple card and board games were gone through. Jace and Alec had gotten up sometime in the middle wanting to ‘fetch something’ but you translated that to ‘I want to go play swords with my parabatai’. They were only gone for a few moments before Mayrse had dragged them back saying they were going to ruin their nice clothes.
You have to say your favorite part was when Mayrse began retelling past holiday stories about Jace, Alec, Isabelle, and their late brother Max.
.....................
Finally the presents were passed around.
Max got an overwhelming amount of presents by Alec’s standards.
“You guys really didn’t have to get him so many presents. I mean, you should see the amount that is lying under our own tree back home!” Alec stressed.
But Max was happy so he didn’t press much more.
You gave Jace a ceramic duck, he glared at you and shook his head disapprovingly as everyone else laughed in amusement.
“Just be glad I didn’t get a live duck like Magnus suggested.” You whispered
Jace looked a little horrified at the thought and shivered.
.........................
After presents were done, the mindless chatter began.
People would take turns playing with Max, and then Max would be passed around on people's laps once he started to get tired, eventually landing in Alec’s lap while Magnus played with his son's hair affectionately.
You couldn’t remember when you first started getting lulled into sleep. Maybe it was when Magnus sat at the piano, playing multiple tunes that he had heard throughout his life. Probably not when Clary and Simon recited a holiday song they learned in elementary school. If you couldn’t guess they weren’t the best of singers. Perhaps it was when Jace started combing his fingers through your hair, as you laid your head against his chest. The warmth of his body and the rythmic sound of his heartbeat probably helped as well. Yeah, that was probably it.
...........
The light pours into your room. Not unpleasant but enough to wake you from your peaceful slumber.
You quickly realize that you’re back in the Herondale house. The new familiarity of the room you and Jace (mostly you, since Jace kept insisting he didn’t care how you decorated) decorated. The single bookshelf that isn’t a far distance from your bed holds both of your favorite reads as well as photographs from your wedding, honeymoon, missions, and other memorable moments with your family and friends.
Your eyes first go to a picture with Jace, who wore a wide grin with his nephew, Max on his shoulders wearing one quite similar. You took that photo while at a fair (something Jace had considered ‘childish’ but had a lot of fun at). It was at the end of the night. Max obviously exhausted, but overall ecstatic, it had been his first time at the fair. Jace looked sweaty and worn out but you could tell that he wasn’t tired. He was a shadowhunter after all.
On a shelf down is a picture of you and Jace, simply talking. It was after a rougher mission and you were both bloodied and bruised but the look of pure love the two of you shared had drawn you to frame it.
Looking towards the left, on your windowsill was a picture from your wedding. You in your gold dress, and Jace in his button up black shirt with his black leather jacket. You and Jace were sitting down, tired from socializing and dancing. Your head was on his shoulder and he was peering down at you, a big smile on his face, one that reflected on your own.
You laugh a little bit thinking back to a time where you thought you and Jace would’ve never been. How happy you are that you were wrong.
“What are you laughing at so early in the morning?” A familiar voice rasps, still laced in sleep
You shake your head moving your body so you could face him. “Nothing.” you smile brightly looking at him.
Jace Herondale, your husband, who is more angel than the majority of Shadow Hunters, has killed more demons than anyone his age, and a damn good shadow hunter, is laying in bed next to you, his eyes lined with a reminisce of sleep.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” The blonde voices with a tired smirk
You huff out a laugh and comb your fingers lazily through his blonde locks.
Jace makes a grumble of appreciation and his mouth softens to a genuine pleased smile. His head subconsciously leans into your head.
You smile and go down for a kiss, one he returns with great pleasure.
Kissing Jace Herondale is how you would imagine a goodbye-this is the last time I might ever see you again-kiss. Its hard, full of passion, and yearning.
His hand is on the back of your head with a firm-but not too firm-grip keeping you close.
You are the one to pull away first causing a noise of disapproval from your husband.
“Merry Christmas.” You barely manage to say before Jaces lips were back on yours.
With a bit of a struggle you pull back and smiled, “We need to get ready.”
Jace scoffs disapprovingly, “What for?”
“We’re supposed to be meeting up with your family again later.” You answer
“Later. We saw plenty of them last night. I’m sure they won’t mind me spending today with my wife.” He says before pulling you in for another kiss
“You spend every day with me.” You murmur trying to hold onto the thought of Alec, Magnus, and Max who were expecting you later on.
“And everyday I only want you more.” He whispers, his hands roaming your body in pleasure, pulling you closer to him as if you were pulling away.
But you weren’t, you're not sure you could when you wanted him just as much.
You pull back and hold his face in your hands, his lips still only a few inches from yours.
He pouts and glares at you.
You laugh in response.
“We can’t miss breakfast. Magnus will hold it over our heads for the rest of our lives.”
“I don’t give a flying fu-” Jace began only for you to cover his mouth
“Jace!” You laugh a little. Just a little.
The famous Herondale smirk was ever so present when you remove your hand. “Fine. We can do breakfast, lunch, and dinner or whatever but after that you’re mine for the night.”
Your heart skips a beat, “Sounds wonderful.”
He smiles bringing you in this time for a warm embrace.
“I love you.” You murmur into his shoulder
“I love you more.” He murmurs back, a stupid grin on his face.

untied spell | Alec Lightwood
Tumblr media Tumblr media
words count: idk sorry
gender neutral reader! x Alec Lightwood
warning: angst, my fav
summary: the nigh of Max's party at Bane's, a truth was revealed, a painful one, yours
English is not my first language loves, trying my best, enjoy :)
Tumblr media
"dear, so glad you came" Magnus welcomed you inside the house, his sharp eyes the first thing that reminded you you were in trap.
"how could I not come, after all, it is Max's party" a sigh escaping your lips as Magnus closed the door behind your back.
"here" he handed you a drink, his mouth close to your ear "I know you and Alexander aren't in the best of terms now but I beg of you let's enjoy the evening"
a light of amusement crossed your face "what the high warlock of Brooklyn says.." a gulp as the drink slide into your throat.
as Magnus looked at you make your way into the living room he couldn't help but sigh "this is going to be a disaster".
as soon as your eyes met Izzies a calming wave washed over your body "so glad I found you" you admitted as soon as the dark haired reached for your arm to interlock with hers.
"So glad you found the right member of the Lightwood family you mean"
you couldn't help but glare as she put her hands up in surrender "alright, got it, I'm sorry".
finding out you were not the only Herondale left was one thing, discovering your younger brother was Jace Wayland was a total different matter.
you would have be the happiest to hear the news if not only the closest friend you had didn't hide it from you.
"for your own good" Alec had said, but it just made you want to throw up.
"you don't have a clue on what's good for me" you had replied the night you had found out.
safe to say, you avoided the man since.
you and Izzy went for the bar, ordering the strongest they had with only a thought in mind, the time of your departure.
"why hasn't Max still arrived?"
"Alec was meant to take him but he's running late"
"as usual" you felt the need to add, as you sipped from your second drink, it was strong.
when you turned to the door again you saw him, his place steady, his eyes hard, all that gloomy act and Alec was still Alec, a ferocious dog without teeth.
"let's go great Max" Isabelle dragged you toward the small circle as you looked at everyone but him.
"my little hunter!" exclaimed the girl hugging the boy thigh as you smiled down at him "guess you'll be my next right arm huh?" you joked ruffling his hair.
"you bet since everyone seems to die when they get close to you" your head shot in Alec's direction, your eyes as thin as those of a fox "what did you just say?"
the man shook his head, looking around for support, "what do you mean?" he asked.
you were about to bark back when Magnus stood between you two, his voice louder "ah! it is a great party, let's leave the celebrated to it".
eyes glaring while you sighed hard, "need another drink".
the rest of the evening went down better than expected, Alec seemed to respect your boundaries, in fact, you were able to avoid him for most of the night.
it wasn't until you saw Clary shot for the bar on the left that something just switched.
"i have to go" you told a tipsy Isabelle as you left the couches, your steps taking you to the terrace when you noticed a door slightly open, someone laying on the floor.
your feet stopped as you regained consciousness, what was going on?
only when you made your way inside the room you spotted a terrified Jace on the right.
"Jace! what is going on?" you asked reaching for who you had recognized was Maryse Lightwood laying unconscious on the floor.
"she tried to kill me!" he spoke, his voice harsh yet panicked, "Maryse?" you asked, too unlikely to be true.
"yes!" he half screamed as he approached you, his eyes wet with tears and his jaw hard.
he was in pain and it pained you too.
your brother, was in pain, your brother, was in pain.
you didn't know how you arrived to that conclusion but suddenly, as bright as day, the culprit's name flashed before your eyes.
Alec.
Alec was the reason your brother was in pain, the reason you yourself were.
you marched out of the room, a surprised Isabelle crossing your path as she got in.
"y/n!" she called for you, but it was late now, you were already half way to the terrace when you spot him.
Lost gaze as he was stearing at the night sky, his back facing you.
he felt someone approaching and was quick to turn around: "y/n.." he had the time to say before you pushed him backwords, hands searching for the daggers behind your back.
"y/n!" he screamed now, his eyes blank as he was glaring at you.
"hiding my brother for me is a thing, but hurting him?" you half screamed, daggers now in view.
then, the unexpected happened, his lips lift into a dark smile as he chuckled "what am I? the bane of your existence?" he laughed.
you were taken aback, losing your steadiness as you stumbled back, his body swinging forward as he took the daggers out of your hands, hitting the ground hard.
"what is going on with you?" Alec asked but you couldn't help but hear "Just say it, we both know what your problem is".
your heart roared as you jumped on him, fist swinging, as he tried to block you as best as he could.
"you know nothing about me!" you screamed.
"I do, I always did" he spoke, as you fell on the concrete, his body steadying you as he positioned himself above you.
"you are not mad at me because I've hidden Jace is your brother, you are mad because you are a worthless piece of shit, the weak of the family and the soft hearted", your hands burning as you were trying to get free, "all this time and you were just trying to run away from your feeling, from your feelings for m-"
"no!" you screamed as your feet kicked him on the back, the boy crawling to the floor.
you looked like an animal, a beast as you jumped to Alec's lap, your fist white as you aimed for his face.
"you have to stay away from me!" you screamed, gatting the dagger from the ground as you pressed it to Alec's throat.
your eyes watery as ho looked at you sympathetically.
"y/n!" you heard a voice as you suddenly snapped out of it.
your hands trembling as you throw the dagger away, looking at Alec on the ground, his eyes soft, in pain.
"I'm sorry" you mumbled, quickly getting on your feet again.
Magnus rushed forward as he touched your shoulder softly, "I'm sorry he was-", "he was saying things I-", "I'm sorry".
you felt like throwing up.
"Alec!" Maryse rushed forward, kneeling on the ground, "what happened?"
"I'm fine" he breathed, his eyes glued to his opponent's face.
"y/n" the boy spoke, getting on his feet "are you alright?".
"have you all lost your minds?" Maryse barked, shooting for Jace who was now standing behind you and Magnus.
"you almost killed me!"
"do you all hear what she is saying to me?"
"Jace" Clary touched the man's shoulder as Simon entered the room.
"what is wrong?" he asked, "Maia is by the bar if you are wondering" Clary blunted stern.
"something's wrong" you heard Magnus whisper as he left your side, making his way inside the apartment.
"don't you ever spoke to me again" you stated with gritted teeth, eyes wet with tears as Alec looked at you with that same very eyes.
"don't be ridiculous" he answered.
you turned your back as you left the crowd, your brother trying to reach you but failing.
you had just touched the door's knob as Alec held your arm forcing you to turn around.
"reason with me" he pleaded "let's be logical".
"I can't!" you answered with a ferocity that broke the man's heart.
"you know why" a string seemed to unlace inside your head and your vision cleared again, but it didn't change the fact that it was obvious now, at least to you.
"y/n" he breathed.
"we know why" and you left the room praying for the night to end painlessly.

Try and stop me Part 1 - Shadowhunters.
Summary: You were adopted by the Lightwood a few years back and Robert hates how you’re different you are from the others. An argument takes place and you’ve decided enough is enough.
Warnings: Mentions of cheating, bullying (idk what to call it), abuse (idk if you’d call it this?), shouting, angst, disowning a child.
Pairing: Lightwood family x Adopted!reader.
Word count: 1,376.
Note: Hopefully you’ll be able to tell from this that I ✨hate✨ Robert Lightwood.

We only gathered around the dinner table like this for family matters, especially at the institute. Isabelle sat beside me, talking animatedly about the training session she had just finished but I didn't hear much of it. The looks I'd been getting off our father had been unnerving, strange and inexplicable so I'd zoned out, overthinking it.
"It's nice to see everyone is actually here for once," Maryse took her seat, oddly family-orientated recently, at the head of the table beside Izzy and smiled at all of us. "We don't do this often enough." She was trying so hard to hold herself together for the past few weeks. Robert had been cheating on her and nobody knew. Maryse found out but hadn't told the others yet and I wasn't supposed to know but you hear things like arguments when you can't sleep at night. The whole family had noticed a difference in their dynamic but nobody commented, better to ignore these things and see if it all worked out in the end I guess.
We all dug in, always loving when Maryse came to see us and cooked her amazing meals. Izzy tried, bless her heart, but I'd rather eat mud than the food she conjured up and I know the others thought the exact same thing, it was fair to say she didn't have the same gift as Mom when it came to the kitchen. The conversation wasn't loud but it was a nice buzz in comparison to silence and I listened as Izzy and our mother spoke to each other. As soon as the table fell remotely quiet I was called on.
"Y/N, I noticed you've not been training as much as the others." Robert dabbed his lips with a napkin and I looked at him questioning look whilst swallowing my food. "You shouldn't be slacking off. Jace, Izzy and Alec are working so much harder than you."
"Can we not do this now?" Maryse seemed to almost beg him as she glared in his direction. My sibling's eyes zeroed in on me and Izzy tapped my leg under the table gently before looking pointedly at my fork. I placed it down from my trembling hands and sipped my water to clear my throat, I hated confrontation.
"I got a bit behind on the books is all so I'm giving myself a break from physical working to get some studying in, that's all but it won't be for long." I smiled unsurely "Just until I catch up."
"And why is it that you manage to fall behind when everyone else can stay ahead?" He raised an eyebrow. "You should be working just as hard and not being lazy and sitting around letting your studies get the better of you." My eyes flickered to our mother for a moment who looked apologetic and irritated.
"I've just been struggling a bit is all but it won't take me long to catch up, I promise." I bowed my head and shifted the food around my plate wishing I could just disappear into the tension-thick air.
"It's not good enough. You've had 4 years to catch up and it's getting beyond a joke. You need to be as good as the other three, what kind of a Shadowhunter will you be if you let this happen?" I pushed my chair out slightly with cold, shaking hands and bit back my tears of anger.
"Dad, don't you think you should cut her some slack?" Alec started, obviously uncomfortable.
"Don't involve yourself, Alexander." Now Jace looked furious. Nobody spoke to Alec like that when Jace was around not even Robert.
"I'm sorry that I've hit a bit of a slump but I'm working on it," I spoke through gritted teeth. "I know I'm not as good as them and I'm trying so just give me some time and space and hopefully I can get up to the standards you want." My voice was cold and harsh but I didn't care anymore. How dare he. I didn't need reminding that I wasn't a Lightwood or that I hadn't been with them as long as Jace. "Thank you for dinner Mom, I'm going to head off to bed." I stood from the table, not looking at anyone as I turned around.
"You aren't going anywhere Y/N!" Robert's voice thundered through the room and I stopped dead. "When will you finally sort yourself out? We won't baby you anymore! I expect better of you and if you don't sort this out then you won't be a Lightwood anymore, not that you've ever been much of one anyway." My breath hitched, and that stung more than anything ever had. My chest rose and fell as though I had run miles as I clenched my fists.
"Enough! That's too far!" Izzy stood up, arms braced on the table as her chair fell backwards.
"No, what's enough is Y/N taking advantage of the home and life we gave her despite who her parents were. We didn't have to take her in and I'm beginning to wish we hadn't!" This time Maryse yelled at him but I couldn't make out a word as my blood rushed through my ears, anger drowning out everything else. I was slightly aware of Isabelle's hand on my arm but my body wouldn't respond. I turned to face him slowly with a wicked grin on my face as my eyes met his.
"Finally." My voice was scarily calm. "You finally admitted it. After 4 years of thinking about it, you finally gathered up the courage to say it huh? Heaven forbid your wife has a kinder heart and takes in a child who needs her. By the angel, what a crime!" By this point, I was shouting. "I'm sorry that I'm not good enough for you and that I'm very clearly a disappointment but hey, guess you won't have to deal with that anymore if I'm not a Lightwood. I have tried my damn best for the past 4 years, harder than I have ever tried to do anything. All to get you to notice, to impress you, to make you proud so that I don't get overlooked by you anymore but no! Still not good enough!" My voice wobbled and I hated that tears of anger now stained my face. "I know I'm not as good as them and I didn't mind that but I still tried for you. Not for Mom, not for my siblings or the institute but for you because you just looked straight through me like I wasn't there. You always have and I'm sick of it! I'm sick of trying to make you happy and I'm sick of keeping it all to myself, I know more than you think I do and my mind is definitely stronger than you realise." My teeth bared in pure rage as I glared holes into him. "I've had enough. I'm done! I'm done trying to make you happy so you have your way."
I spun on my heel and stormed out of the room, pushing past the other Shadowhunters who seemed to have heard the commotion and making my way to the door. I grabbed a spare stele from one of the weapons racks, sliding it into my pocket and beelining for the doors. I ignored Clary's yells of concern as she followed after me and the voices of my siblings and Mom asking me to stay.
"Don't you dare walk away Y/N! If you walk out that door then you're done, You won't be welcome here anymore!" I stopped, my hands resting on the wooden doors. "I mean it! You leave and I don't want to see your face again!" I looked back at my Mom who was sobbing as Jace held her. I had never seen her so vulnerable, especially not in front of the whole institute.
"I love you, Mom, You guys know where to find me." I smiled at my Mom and siblings softly before looking at Robert. "As for you, try and stop me from coming home, I dare you." With that I threw open the doors and stormed out, leaving the shouting of Maryse behind as I held in my sobs.
