Also, massive shout out to one of my friends today.

I got some really disappointing news today from the surgical team associated with the surgeon I was slated to have a top surgery consultation with. She said he was unfortunately retiring and they'd have to cancel, as he has no replacement and if one comes in, it won't be for another year and it isn't clear if they'd do top surgery.

She suggested that I call my provider for others in the network who could help, though I sadly said I've done that for a few years now and who they had down isn't great. The whole thing was the cherry on top of the bad sundae that this month has had out for me. There's one person who I'll try to call tomorrow that a family member knows, but that's besides the point.

My friend comes in the thread and gives me so much love and support. She told me that she was sorry for the bad news and while it may feel like the universe has it out for me, but it's simply just bad luck and that I'm likely to strike good luck soon than just having more dealt to me statistically speaking.

She told me to remember that she's rooting for me and confident that things will work out, that everyone here loves me and she loves me regardless of all the stuff related to how I look and the things that make me dysphoric. Not gonna lie, that and hearing her say how proud she is of me and how far I've come, who I am, and all the work I've done to be able to get to this point damn near made me cry.

She's so fucking lovely and wonderful. I'm not sure where I'd be without her being this incredible source of light in my life. It was like being enveloped in just the warmest, safest hug and I'm forever grateful and thankful that we share space together for one another. I'm tearing up writing this, actually. I've been feeling so down and out for the last few weeks and she just swooped in like a hawk and lifted me back up.

Now, I'm going to go listen to some music and try not to cry for a while.

I feel the same thing ngl.. i don't like to discredit someone's trauma but shes been copy pasting the things she's said to me and then sending them to other people unedited. She's trying to perform a power play on these kids who are just beginning to understand themes like rape or abuse or racism or brutality and care about them so emotionally as children do, and trying to use it against them. i really don’t get the hype over majimako like. at all. I’ve tried to wrap my head around it but every time I just end up so confused how it’s such a popular pairing and wondering if we played the same game like?? they had no chemistry, barely even knew each other (and what they did know of each other was almost entirely built off desperate traumabonding) and people treat the pairing like it’s the most deep, romantic thing in the world despite there being like. nothing there. at least romantically speaking. it’s honest to god baffling to me.

their most iconic “romantic” image together comes from a scene where makoto wants to fucking run away from him because she wants to find lee, who she fully trusts and who’s in danger (and probably also because majima’s literally just admitted to initially planning to murder her.) and he has to hold her there so she doesn’t get herself killed by running (literally) blindly into the street or something. how on earth is that a romantic scene.

their little sort-of date consists of majima being kind and sympathetic to her, sure, maybe even displaying some surface level feelings, but she’s completely preoccupied because of the massively important issues going on at the time with the lieutenants who wronged tachibana, she’s more or less probably plotting their deaths in her head during that scene, and in the end she purposefully has him run to get takoyaki so she can flat out Leave without him stopping her. because she has other priorities and is Not In The Headspace For A Soft Sentimental Escapade to say the absolute least.

Whatever they were, they were not In Love, they didn’t have time or circumstances for that, or to get to know one another as Actual People rather than as incidental liferafts in the midst of a sea of traumatic, nightmarish events. majima attached himself to her and felt strongly about her safety and eventual return to normalcy because she reminded him of himself and wanted her to have the pleasant civilian life he couldn’t give himself. on her end? honestly I don’t think she felt that connected to him at all up until the end, namely up until when he fixed her watch. and even then “romantic” is not even close to the word id use for what she was feeling– in fact I think that waters it down, if anything. I mean like fuck she was there bringing flowers to her brother’s grave in the spot where he died in front of her i really don’t think this was about romanticism, it was about compassion and selflessness and wishing her good luck in her new, free life, while expecting nothing from her in return. he cared about her and her outcome in life deeply and this would be the case regardless of any romantic feelings for her.

Anyway I didn’t mean for this to turn into an essay and somehow I could go on for longer but I absolutely do not need to. I just. am so secure in my thoughts about this and sometimes seeing how people talk about this relationship and it’s supposed deep romanticism makes me feel like I’m losing my mind or played a completely different game or something ngl. don’t get me wrong, ship whatever you want I’m not saying it’s problematic or something it’s just. bizarre to me how popular and sensationalized it is. and a little frustrating how applying this overdramatic romantic narrative to them can so often water down a dynamic that’s way more nuanced and interesting on an individual character level.

I just wanna not be sick anymore like my body hurts and my head hurts and like my throat too. And id go get a cough drop to help but they all have like red dye 57 or some shit in them and they'll stain my invisaline, and I don't want the dentist to yell at me when I go to get new trays on Wednesday, and I can't tale them out because the whole point is for them to stay in my mouth for as long as possible so that they, ya know, actually work. But also they make my face hurt, and it's not even my fault that im sick, like my sister was sick and she was all over me and coughing on me because she has zero spacial awareness, but it's whatever or something and I don't wanna blame her because that makes me feel bad.

And also I woke up like 3 times last night because my head was killing me, and I'm pretty sure it's because I'm dehydrated and that's a me problem but still, and sometimes when I try to drink water is just kinda... sits in my stomach and I can feel it and it's just... no good

And I swear I'm trying to be healthy and responsible, but like I'm really just not that hungry. And I'm trying to not get anyone else sick but the think is I already had/have a problem of isolating myself before this because family is a lil exhausting ngl, and everyone is like come hang put with the fam and I'm like sure... but I'm sick.

And that's not even the worst part. The worst part is probably the vertigo when I stand up sometimes or still having to wake up to take my sister to work at 8am. My sister doesn't even care that I'm sick, and also has this habit of wearing super strong perfume, or just spraying it to make the care "smell good" except on a good day it gives me a headache. And also she talks a lot and really loudly, and because I apparently have no boundaries I just sit there and suffer, which is fine cuz it's my fault but like still.

akjdfkjds it's honestly always a treat to me to see that I have some Welcome Home mutuals!! Those silly guys have captured my heart ever since last April. Honestly, take this ask as an invitation to babble about it bc I wanna hear your thoughts! I'm a basic gal who's favorite is Wally bc of his autism 😔 Like I saw that man and went: me. That is me. We are kindred spirits. He's my bestie and I love him. Very excited to see him going through the horrors (I will cry). Also Eddie has really grown on me! He's such a lovable fella, he deserves a good break fr fr. Sally is an icon as well, and as a fellow musical theater nerd, I support all of her hustle.

Honestly, they all have so much personality that I would legit watch a real show with them, horror elements be damned. It's also lovely to see queer centric stories receive so much love and support <3

I too am a basic gal whos favorite is wally, and probably for similar reasons! I do agree with you, wally is definitely autistic in my eyes, and we would probably be the best of buds if he was real. I'm excited to see all of them go through the horrors, but especially Wally and Eddie. But at the same time, PLEASEEEE GIVE THEM A BREAKK. Gonna use this as an excuse to ramble about the au side of the fandom because why not :3 I got super into the fandom side of welcome home last spring, specifically the au side. I think the fall of some of the better known au's kind of killed part of the fan base, but honestly, people shouldn't let some bad creators ruin an entire fandom for them. I do miss seeing more of the au's, ngl. It was so much fun, even if it was SO HARD to keep track of the aus. (There were like over 1,000 aus. What is this, the undertale fandom? /j) At some point I had ideas for an au as well, but i'm pretty sure i've entirely forgotten them by now 😭 (This is why we write down our ideas, BUT I STILL HAVEN'T CAUGHT ONTO THAT YET.) Also, Id totally watch a real show with them. There's a lot of interesting aspects that I think could translate well into 2d or 3d animation, especially the horror elements. I love seeing queer centric projects like these as well, especially when it's not over-stereotyped. Stories like this deserve all the love and support that other stories get, and I do hope we see more projects like this down the line.

It totally makes sense why everyone would be more upset over Kaito's death than Kokichi

Idk why theres this sentiment that Kokichi's desth was unfairly overshadowed by Kaito BUT YEAH NO HARD DISAGREE literally none of those remaining classmates would have any reason to show compassion for kokichi over kaito

Shuichi: as he is mc/player character his perspective matters most, so ill say the most on him. Sorry to saiouma fans (dw i do think the ship is cute but honestly works better under different circumstances for the two) but Shuichi has spent more time with kaito. After Kaede's death, it is Kaito (in Kaito's questionable way) who helped get Shuichi's willpower back. Kokichi says as much in ch 4. With shuichi being a very sensitive detective, he needed that pillar of support from kaito, one kokichi, while providing help in trials, doesnt give emotionally. Sure u can argue bias on Shuichi's part, but it is Kokichi's plot in ch 4 that caused him and Kaito to have a falling out, injured and captured Kaito in a bunker, and is the reason Kaito becomes the blackened Shuichi is forced to exposed and now watch be executed

Maki: Self explanatory af, but kokichi exposed her talent to everyone to have her be isolated due to kokichi's own distaste for murderers, regardless of maki's intent. Kokichi is the one who fucked around in ch 5 with her feelings, making her harbor guilt over supposedly killing kaito. It's his plot that gets Kaito killed off as blackened so yeah dont expect sympathy from her

Tsumugi: while idk if confirmed whether Kokichi had gone off Tsumugi's script, if that is the case, Tsumugi would 100% frustrated for kokichi messing up her plotline. Shes devoted her life to dr and has been a writer in numerous prior seasons. To have some kid try to attack the mastermind directly by messing with the game would to her feel like infringing on the game's intended entertainment. Besides, if everyone else hates kokichi, it's best for her to go along with it to blend in

Himiko: there def is a weird dynamic between the two, with himiko falling for exisal kokichi twice which is weird ... but yeah no overall himiko has a negative opinion of kokichi. While he did indirectly help her releasing her bottled up emotions in the end of ch 3, it's Kokichi’s way of doing things, meaning it usually comes off as rude. Pretty sure what Kokichi (and Gonta to an extent) caused in ch 4 is unforgivable for himiko, since literally everyone liked Gonta. Himiko out of everyone believed kokichi was the mastermind, feeling great despair once he revealed the truth of the outside world. While not specific, himiko is more of a case of kokichi's general creation of distrust in others. In contrast, kaito is uplifitng to himiko, being the one to defend her in ch 3 when tenko's death was ignored and moving the group along during ch 5.

Keebo: keebo admittedly has the most sympathetic view of kokichi after the trial, alluding to his "hopeful" nature and such, as well as his logical understanding of kokichi's motive. But generally, kokichi is just robophobic to keebo for the sake of pestering keebo, as well as asking invasive questions (do robots have di-?)

Kaito: without getting into kaito and kokichi's relationship/rivalry, kaito id argue does have the second most sympathetic reflection on kokichi, providing the group with Kokichi’s last words. Tho he does doubt them, mentioning he believed kokichi's plan wouldnt work (i personally hc that as just bluff to make shuichi feel better tho). And since its kokichi who blackmailed him into the plan, kokichi is in a sense responsible for Kaito's death so he'd probably wanna focus on making Shuichi and Maki feel better

Kokichi is my fav dr character but ngl he's a little shit to the remaining survivors. While i as an audience memebr feel terrible for him, im not upset or shocked by the characters' disinterest in his death

i totally agree, i loved the romance in valhalla! but also just the relationships in general, since i think you spend a lot more time with your allies in valhalla than in odyssey (i cried when soma died).

and that’s part of why i think you’re so right when you say that in many ways it would’ve been less sad for eivor to carry the staff than kassandra. eivor’s whole deal was that she had a family, she had a home, and she needed to protect those things. eivor being able to chase after honor and glory was due to her already having those things to return to. kassandra’s whole deal was that she didn’t have either, and she spends the entire story wandering all over the world trying to find these things, and she gets so little time with them before she’s asked to take on this incredibly heavy burden of knowing that she’ll outlive all of them. when i tell you that words couldn’t describe how i felt when you play as layla and you go to finally relieve her of the staff and allow kassandra to rest in peace…

and also yeah, what’s the deal with randvi never leaving the map room? all i can do is 👀

about horizon: i feel like i should add the disclaimer that i still don’t love using the spear in it much, but i don’t think it hinders my playthrough at all

i have been using a spear for a bit in dark souls & although i still don’t like it i kept using it bc it was my best weapon so i can do a spear if i have to 😩 def won’t put me off of the game i’m sure id get used to it even if i will def wish i could use a sword lol

dark souls does not have an easy mode so i would def not recommend it to u it is super hard and so frustrating (idk how much u know abt dark souls so i will explain) bc when u kill enemies u get souls to level up w but when u die u lose all ur souls & the only way to get them back is to make it back to the spot where u died & pick them up so if u die again before u get there u lose all of those souls forever. & every time u die all of the enemies except bosses respawn. lost 11000 souls like two days ago and it was like the life drained out of me in real life too fr 😩
