Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Y/N was walking down the hallway with Mason, they didn´t share many classes except literature. It was one of her favorite classes. Y/N becomes a little nerd if someone asks her about history, paintings, architecture, or literature. When she was a kid, she wasn´t into this kind of things. She used to do a lot of sports and her grades weren´t great but also not worse.
When she started to go to a high school she stopped. Her grades became better and soon she was topping most of her classes. Her classmates saw her as someone intelligent, she wasn´t just book smart, she had good opinions and when she started talking people listened to her, she didn´t know why, maybe because she didn´t talk much so they became interested in her talking.
But she never talked about herself. She was always trying to avoid any questions about her. Y/N didn´t know why she did that. She felt more secure that way, less on target. She likes to keep things like this together.  When she used to tell someone about her problems she didn´t feel relief, it was the opposite, she was scared that it wouldn´t end with that person or that they actually didn´t care and just listened to her cause they didn´t want to be impolite. So she found peace in her silence.
When she struggled she picked up a pen and notebook. She kept writing and writing until she forgot why she started. She never read it. Felt ashamed of her words and her feelings. She wasn’t alone after all, she had her family and brother, so why did she still feel so lonely? Y/N knew she wasn´t good with words but she wanted to be better.
When she became older she found herself in poems. Sometimes she was writing about her feelings, other times she was writing about things she likes, saw during the day, or just about her day. In some way they made her realize that being focused on bad things won´t bring her good feelings. And she felt stupid, of course, it was like this but talking about it and behaving according to it were two different things.
„How was your weekend?“ Mason asked as they walked side by side to their class, passing by some of their football teammates, shooting them nods.
„It was pretty good, got some sleep, how about you?“ she shot him a glance. Y/N still can´t believe that someone like him exists, he is so kind and helpful. Today after school they are having practice, she was kind of on the edge of her toes because on saturday they have the game but Mason supported her and calmed her nerves.
„Me too, there was a party going on, it was quite good but it would be even better if you were there.“
They walked into a class and took a seat, chatting about some festival going on this week when suddenly Percy came into a class. He saw her shot her a quick nod and started to make his way to them.
„Hey, Charlie! I didn´t see you almost all weekend!“ Yeah, they were always avoiding each other but not on purpose, Y/N was always somewhere and when she came to the dorm Percy wasn´t there yet, he was sleeping or it was the other way around.
He turned to Mason but didn´t say anything. It was weird, like some tension between them. They just kept looking at each other till Percy asked her about her Friday night.
„How was your hang out with your teammates?“
Mason shot her a questionable look but Percy didn´t seem to notice that. Y/N got stuck. Now there was no way she could keep lying because clearly, Mason was sitting beside her, she could say that she felt sick so she canceled the plans or-
„It was great.“ Mason said from beside her. „Why are you interested? You wanted to join us?“ he asked and kept looking at him for an answer. Y/N knew he didn´t mean the question that way but silently thanked him for saving her. Percy looked at him, stunned, as he wasn´t expecting his statement.
„No, of course not.“ After that, he walked away somewhere behind them to find a free chair to sit on. Mason looked at “Charlie” again with a slightly raised eyebrow.
„I´m not going to ask, if you want to tell me you can, just so you know, I don´t want to force you.“ He said softly. Mason can see the way his teammate is. How she only talks when someone asks her something. He sees how she acts and holds herself. He also can see that something is off but can´t really say what. But still, he has this urge to hold a protective wing above his new friend.
„Thank you, Mason.“ Y/N shot a small smile his way and he gave it back to her. Class began and she can only hope that Percy will forget about their small but tense interaction.
Soon the mentioned festival came. Y/N was walking around by herself not really sure where to head to. There were all the students from her school running around. She saw Georgie on the bench, he was holding big candy floss in his hand looking excited at it. The girl wanted to laugh at him, he looked really funny. Slowly she came to him with a small teasing smile on her face.
„Aren´t you a little too old for this?“ Y/N asked him looking at his change of face at her question.
„There is not something like an age barrier in eating cotton candy!“ Georgie shouted and turned his face around, acting angry at her. Of course, he was right, she liked it too, she just saw the opportunity and took it.
„Yeah, believe whatever you want“ Y/N smiled „Where is the rest?“ she was hitting on Hunter, the two boys were always together, they truly were like brothers, always bickering but supportive of each other. Percy was also a lot of time by their side but Hunter and Georgie were glued by the hip.
„I don´t know I´m waiting for him.“ He said as Y/N slowly took a seat by him. „And what brings you here? Shouldn´t you train for your upcoming match?“ he looked her way.
„Today we have a free day, coach was talking about him having some show at the festival.“ Y/N was looking forward to her match and wanted to be ready, hoping he would let her play for at least a couple of minutes. She wanted to find out how her body would react. She was a little nervous but this stress was healthy. It kept her going.
„Me and Hunter will come to watch you.“ The girl looked at him shocked. He was eating his candy floss with his fingers all sticky.
„You like something else besides eating and taking photography?“ she teased him and he looked at her with lowered eyebrows.
„I didn´t say I enjoy watching it, I just want to see how you lose your first game.“ Georgie laughed then Y/N punched his shoulder. „Ouch! I was only joking you know!“
She stopped and looked around her, feeling like someone was watching her and she was right. There was a girl not so far, looking at her with folded arms and a smirk on her face. She had long brown hair and was short. She started to make her way to the two of them. Y/N straightened her back and waited for what this girl had to say.
„Hey, I don´t think we know each other but my roommate talks a lot about you.“
Now that made the girl sitting on the bench stop. Roommate? She had never seen this girl and Y/N wasn´t sure where she should know her roommate from. The only girl she talks to is Jenna but she´s almost sure that she has no reason to talk about her.
„She is working in the photo booth, I´m sure she would be on top of the roof if you came to see her.“ She still has that teasing smile on her face.
„Uhm... yeah, sure“ Y/N lets out looking at Georgie who´s trying to hold his laugh. The girl left and he lets it out.
„Shut your mouth and keep eating.“ She hissed at him but he only continued with his laugh.
Soon she found Mason and some of her other teammates, they talked about the game how excited are they and how they would smash their opponent. Her brother called her again, saying how his tour was going and he wished her luck. Their parents luckily aren´t suspicious so everything is going according to plan. She takes her walk around the festival, looking at all kinds of booths and how people are enjoying themselves. She stopped by one and just stared, she saw Jenna, and she sat in one of the booths on her face her significant smile. Suddenly the brown eyed girl looked up and saw Y/N. She smiles wider and she indicates with her eyes at the side of the booth. Y/N slowly walks there are is greeted with Jenna´s hug. This was the first time they hugged and Y/N couldn´t focus on anything. She was shocked by the girl´s body language but also glad cause this meant their friendship became stronger.
„Hey, I was looking forward to seeing you today.“ Jenna backed her way out of their hug and looked up at her, still with their bodies close to one another. Y/N looked where they were and she saw that Jenna was working in a... photo booth.
„Uhm... yeah? Why? Do you need something?“ the other girl asked looking down at her again.
„No, I just wanted to see you.“ There goes her dimples again. They are so cute. Her whole face is too pretty. Y/N wanted to say something but was cut off by another voice.
„Hey football player glad you finally decided to come.“ She turned to Jenna „I found her when I went to the toilet, couldn´t hold myself from inviting her to our booth.“ She shot her teasing smile. Jenna face palmed herself, she could already imagine how she approached you and what she said. Gideon was like that, she is a big matchmaker but also really attentive and sweet when it's convenient.
„Charlie this is Gideon, Gideon Charlie.“ She pointed her hand from one to another.
„Hey Charlie, I heard a lot of things about you.“ She smirked and Jenna pushed her away, awkwardly looking around as she stood in front of Y/N.
„Ehm...so, I heard you have an upcoming game this Saturday, are you excited yet?“ the shorter girl asked as she looked at her feet, arms folded. Y/N found her cute right now, how she couldn´t look at her like she did before her roommate interrupted them.
„I pretty am, even though I don´t even know if I will play, I´ve been training only two weeks, and I’m not sure if the coach will let me play.“ She shook her shoulders.
„Oh I´m sure you will be playing, you are one of the best on your team.“ Jenna winked at Y/N and smiled at her. „I saw you a couple of times.“
Now, Jenna was acting as if she had seen her just a couple of times but the truth is, she saw her every practice. She doesn´t know why, at first she just went there cause she didn´t feel like going straight to her dorm, but when she saw you she knew that she wanted to see you again. You were so good. You acted like a totally different person on the field, you were confident and energetic, and your every move was calculated. You could easily catch someone´s attention. You caught Jenna´s attention.
Y/N felt a lot more confident because of Jenna´s words. She wasn´t the first person who said this to her.
„Will you come to see us?“
„Are you inviting me to watch you on your game?“ Jenna teased her.
„Well, if you already have some plans you don´t have to, I mean you probably have better things to do than to watch some stinky players running around the field chasing the ba-“ Y/N didn´t even finish her sentence and the other girls cut her off.
„I will come“ Jenna wouldn´t miss your first game, she was excited to see you being competitive. There was something about you that was always bringing her thoughts to you. You were such a good listener, a soft speaker, and intelligent. She doesn´t think she has ever met someone like you in her life. You were like a fresh air to her stereotypical life. She wanted to be with you cause every time you are together, you give her something new.
Jenna watched Y/N. She couldn’t tear her eyes off her. You were like someone else like they switched you. In-person, you were sweet, quiet, caring, and soft. On the field, you were almost aggressive but not in a bad way, you knew what you were doing. This was definitely your alter ego and Jenna was here for every second of it, you put on quite a show. Running back and forth in your jersey, defending than attacking, the ball moved exactly where you wanted it to move. You were fast, probably the fastest one on the field.
Jenna enjoyed it so much. She used to play football when she was a kid with her family when they spent time together and also in school. But that was a long time ago, she may not play it anymore but she still likes to watch it.
The girl moved her eyes as you got the ball on your foot and started to run trying to get near the opponent's net. Players trying to stop you, running after you, trying to slide their way to you, nothing works. When you got near the goal area you tried your luck and shot the ball into the net. The opponent's goalkeeper couldn’t see the ball because of his teammates standing in front of him, making the ball straight to the top corner. Whistle. Goal.
Jenna stood up clapping her hands big smile on her face as she watched you running to your teammates to celebrate your success. The whole tribune of the students from your school is clapping, yelling supportive words, happy that they are winning against a different university. Your coach is standing near the field with his arms folded and a proud smile on his face. It was definitely a good idea to put you in the first lineup.
“Charlie! That was so good!” Mason tapped your back, he had the biggest smile, and he was so happy for you. You were a big talent.
The game went on and it was almost the end, Y/N became calmer because they were leading. She shot her gaze a couple of times at the tribune and every time she could see Jenna looking at her, she hoped she was enjoying this. Y/N also saw Georgie and Hunter, both boys beside each other smiling widely at her with their thumbs up, Georgie with a hot dog in another hand.
Soon the game ended, and they won 3:0. Y/N was glad that her first match was successful and hopefully, she impressed others. In the changing room, her teammates were chanting, happy about their first match. After that, she walked out of the changing room, bag on her shoulder, still in her football jersey, she’s planning to take a shower in her dorm. She knew that they were a bit suspicious about her cause every time after practice she just took her bag and left, unchanged. But they thought maybe “Charlie” was just shy which was okay not everyone liked showing off skin, even if it was in front of the same gender. Y/N was near the entrance looking into her phone, texting her brother about her game.
„Hey football player.” She looked up from her phone and saw Jenna leaning on her side into the doors looking at her.
„Oh hi, wasn‘t expecting you, did you enjoy the game?” the girl asked as she got closer to her. Now they were looking at each other holding gaze, Jenna looked up biting her lip. You look good right now. Still being in jersey, sweaty forehead, hooded eyes from the energy you gave on the field. If this was someone else she was sure she wouldn’t find them as attractive as you right now.
Jenna nodded her head „Congratulations on your first successful game, pretty cool goal if I have to say.” She says softly still looking at the other girl.
„Pretty cool? It was awesome! Didn’t you see how I ran through half of their players and still shot it?” Y/N started defending herself „I was unstoppable.”
Jenna threw her head back letting out a laugh. She grabbed Y/N by the arm and started to pull her outside of the building.
„Come, we need to celebrate your first win”
„Wait, but I’m still in these clothes, I can’t go anywhere like this.”
Jenna shot her a look „There isn’t any problem if you ask me, but we can stop by your dorm?”
They walked out, still holding each other's hands, Y/N didn’t want to be rude and tear up their hands, she liked this feeling, Jenna’s hand was so soft and warm. Y/N felt good with Jenna, like she has finally someone just for herself.
But her thoughts went to her words, what if her roommate was there and saw them together? He would beat her up. But it was afternoon and he used to be at this time somewhere in the amphitheater.
Y/N agreed as they started making their way towards the dorm rooms. They chatted about some party going on tonight. Jenna’s friend Gideon invited her. Jenna was about to decline but her roommate said there would be also a football team probably celebrating their win. That made Jenna say yes to her offer which Gideon only laughed at.
To Jenna “Charlie” was special, she didn’t know what caught her attention, something inside of her wanted to be with you, by your side.
Luckily for Y/N, Percy was nowhere to be found. She invited Jenna to their room she took her new clothes and went to get a shower. Jenna was sitting on Y/N’s bed, looking around trying to find something which would only make her closer to her friend. Your bed smelled like you, she loved your scent it was like citrus with cedar or something like green tea, she couldn’t describe it in one word. On your desk were books and a notebook, you had it perfectly organized, and everything had its own place. Yeah, you are definitely a perfectionist. When she looked at the other side of the room she could exactly say who was the owner.
The paintings and papers spread around the desk and floor, different types of art. She found them a couple of times in her locker, at the table where she sat, or in her mailbox. Paintings of her. At first, she found it cute but it kept graduating as she got them almost every day. And it was always herself.
But maybe she would be glad, if it ended just with this.
She was in a room where lived two people. One that makes her most pleasant in their presence and the other one she feels most uncomfortable with.
„So what´s your plan for today?“
They were eating in some corner restaurant, Jenna got herself some vegan food, and Y/N sat in front of her with a plate of big burger and some fries. It felt good seeing them like this, both out of student uniforms in their civilian clothes, enjoying each other´s company.
Jenna wanted to know, inconspicuously, if her friend in going to the local party that night. If she said yes then Jenna would also have some plans, that´s for sure. Even though she doesn´t like parties, not anymore.
„Well, some of my teammates are going to some party, I don´t know where, they asked me if I´ll join them.“ She said as she kept eating her fries. „I haven´t decided yet, I´m not really into parties, too loud for me.“ That really didn´t answer her question.
„What about you? Any plans?“
„Gideon was saying something about today´s night but I´m not sure yet.“
„Oh, cool.“ And just like that they continued eating their meals, both hoping, at some point they´ll see each other today. Jenna looked up from the table to Y/N, the girl looked flawless right now, with her invincible walls down, silently eating a burger. Jenna pushed her hand up and stole some fries from her plate. Her friend looked at her with her head not moving from her meat, unimpressed. Softly shook her head from side to side.
„You are lucky it´s you, if it was someone else they wouldn´t have a hand by now.“ She said. She didn’t mind sharing food, sometimes, and she definitely didn´t mind sharing food with the brown-eyed girl.
Y/N was thinking. About Percy to be exact, about their deal or more like his, because he isn´t doing anything to repay. But she promised him she would at least try. And she also tried. When she and Jenna had classes together, like when they were lab partners, she could feel Percy´s stare. His eyes were boring into her skull so hard that sometimes she could even feel a headache. When she looked up at him he moved his eyes to the other girl and back to her. Signalizing what he wants from her.
So she asked. She asked Jenna if she was dating anyone or if she ever thought about going out with Percy. Jenna only laughed at her and shook her head, trying to avoid any questions about him. Y/N could feel something was off, the brown-eyed girl knew the boy and still didn´t even look at him or say hi to him. But Y/N doesn´t know why is she like that. Something happened between them and she wasn´t sure if she wanted to know. It wasn´t her business after all.
After Y/N´s questions, Jenna felt conflicted. She was used to guys asking her out, trying something with her but not you, you were different. You are the only guy who hasn´t tried to get with her. And she liked that. But when you asked her about Percy and said that she would be perfect for him, she almost wasn´t sure if she heard you right.
Perfect for him. But would he be perfect for her? Jenna knew the answer to that question. She disliked him. For what he made her feel. Jenna didn´t want to be perfect for him, she wanted to be perfect for you. And it took her quite a long time to realize that she liked you more than a friend. She talked to Gideon and Emma about it, they told her the same thing.
But did you feel the same?
Jenna was now standing in someone´s living room. Loud music and drunk students were escorting her thoughts. She was looking for her friends, they agreed that they would meet there. She saw Gideon sitting on the sofa, cup in her hand. She was talking to someone Jenna recognized from school. She sat beside her and her roommate looked her way.
„Hey, glad you could make it.“
„What are you drinking?“ Jenna grabbed Gideon´s cup and smelled it.
„Vodka, I got it from the kitchen, down the hallway to the right, you want me to go with you?“ Gideon was sweet, she knew Jenna didn´t enjoy such a thing as a party.
„No it´s okay, I´ll get it, maybe I´ll see Emma or Joy somewhere.“
So with that, she picked herself up from a sofa and started to go into the kitchen. There were a bunch of teens, she barely could make it through them. Some were really drunk and the scent of strong alcohol could be smelled from them. Some guys who saw her shot her flirtatious smirk. She brushed them off and was trying not to make any eye contact on her way. When she saw football players she immediately started looking around if you weren´t somewhere over there. No, you weren’t. She was looking forward to meeting you today but still with no luck. She hoped you would decide to go there.
She made it to the kitchen took a cup in her hand and started looking for some juice. She didn´t feel like drinking, maybe if she was at home with some close friends or you, she would drink but she was at a party, by herself in a stranger´s kitchen.
„Hey.“
Jenna heard a voice from the back. The girl turned around and saw someone she was trying to avoid at all costs. She hoped he wouldn´t be there today but of course he would, they are in the same school after all.
Percy was standing by the kitchen entrance, eyes low, looking at her. They were alone there and loud music could be heard from the other room. Suddenly she didn´t feel safe. The last time they met they were in a room full of people and it still didn´t stop him. Now they were alone and she felt even more scared cause there was nothing that could stop him from doing whatever he wanted.
„H-Hey.“ She shot him nodding with her head and continued with whatever she was doing, with her shaking hands, acting like he wasn´t even there in the first place. But she could feel his cold presence closer behind her. She turned around and was met with his face. He smelled like he just drunk a whole bottle of alcohol. She took a step back from him.
„Is there something you want?“ Jenna asked him. He never broke the eye contact, slowly smirking.
„Yeah, actually, you could help me with something.“ He went to grab her hand but she pushed him.
„Stop, you know what happened last time-“ he cut her off.
„I don´t care! Why can´t you just give me a chance? We could be so good together. You like that, right? You like it when guys are chasing you, it makes you like you are in charge, well Jenna, now it´s different, now I´m in charge here.“
„Please get away from me you are scaring me.“ She felt like crying like she got stones in her throat. Still walking away from him, praying that someone will show up and save her. She felt so small in front of him, no one had ever made her felf like this, like she was some prey.
„What are you doing?“
She turned her head to the new voice that was heard in the kitchen. And she was so glad, felt like she could breathe again. There was you looking at him, no emotion in your face, then you walked up to them and looked right into Percy´s eyes.
She had never seen you like this, you were so serious and didn´t show any emotion. You continue your stare down without blinking. Even though you were shorter than him, not much, you still had a bigger and stronger aura than him.
„Is there a problem?“ Y/N could smell the alcohol from his mouth and could see that he didn´t know what he was doing. So that´s why she knew she couldn´t show that she was scared. It would make him even more confident.
His eyes changed when he realized you were here to get him away from Jenna.
„Charlie, what are you doing? We had a deal! You promised!“ he shouted at his roommate. He knew he shouldn´t trust you. He is sure that you like her. You want to take her away from him!
He started to breathe harder and his eyes became more dangerous. You weren´t scared of him, you were calm and waiting for his next move.
„Leave.“ Y/N said with a low voice, face unimpressed. But before he could say anything else Mason and a couple of others of your teammates came into the kitchen.
Mason walked up to the three of you and stood even taller than Percy. Percy was now in a corner and had nothing to do. So he smiled dryly and walked away.
When he left Y/N turned her gaze to Mason and silently thanked him for standing beside her, he smiled at her with his soft eyes and left with their teammates. You turned down to Jenna and saw her already looking at you. She was hugging herself and looked so gentle and small.
„Hi, you good?“ Y/N asked, almost whispering, waiting for the other girl's answer.
„Yeah.“ She softly let out. She then threw her arms around the taller girl. Head buried in her chest. Y/N hugged Jenna strongly, letting her know that she was there with her.
Yeah, Jenna was sure that you were perfect for her.

Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Luke were perfect for one another. Like two pieces to the same puzzles. You were childhood sweethearts and everyone knew it. If you told yourself a couple months ago what had happened, you would've laughed so hard your lungs might've collapsed. This was not a happy ending, though it could've been.
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥౨ৎ
It was an average summer evening at camp half-blood. Normally you'd be busy helping Annabeth prepare for capture the flag, but she insisted on doing it herself. She always thought it would help prove herself more and more to your mother, Athena. You and your mom are quite close, you both talk a lot. You make sure to tell Annabeth that she already has faith in her, but she still feels the need to do this, maybe it'll help her get the quest she's been dreaming of.
Since you're close with your mother, Athena also knows of your long-lasting relationship with Luke, the Hermes head counselor. At first she didn't approve, she thought her daughter could do better than a son of the god of thieves, but she knew she couldn't change it so she let it go. Well sorta, she always gives a slight diss about it every now and then.
Now it was the day of capture the flag, and you had the newcomer Percy Jackson on your team. Annabeth whisked him away as part of her plan while you and Luke fended off the rest of red team. And for the fourth year in a row, your team won at capture the flag. You and Luke were celebrating with the rest of Athena and Hermes cabin, when you heard yelling from behind you.
"What is wrong with you?!" You turned around to see that a cut up and bleeding Percy was yelling at Annabeth for pushing him into the water. As he stood up, you and everyone around you noticed that his cuts began to heal, but before you could question it a symbol appeared above his head. A trident.
"Poseidon," announced Chiron. "Earthshaker, Stormbringer, Father of Horses. Hail, Perseus Jackson, Son of the Sea God."
All the campers in the surrounding area stood in shock, but congratulated Percy non the less. You stood there with a big smile, happy he was claimed after spending the entire day before being somewhat of a, well, failure at all camp activities.
"Luke! Percy got claimed isn't that amazing-" You turned to look at your boyfriend, but didn't see him smiling the way everyone else was. His expression seemed different. It was a look of curiosity beyond him being a child of the big three, more as if Luke seemed.. upset? He had a grudging smile hanging off his lips, you were confused but shrugged it off.
The next day at around 10AM you were sitting with Annabeth as she raves to you about how she's finally found the one. And by the one, she means that Percy ended up picking her to go on the quest with him. Annabeth goes on telling you about the quest, about how she has to recover Zeus' lightning bolt before the solstice in a week, she sounds excited but you can tell she's nervous.
Your conversation was interrupted by a knock at your door. You turned and saw your handsome boyfriend, Luke, coming to pick you up.
"Mind if I steal her away for a little?" Luke asked as he smiled at your little sister. She just sighed.
"Fine, bring her back at a reasonable time though. Last time you brought her home at 2AM half the cabin woke up." You and Luke started laughing.
"Annie you were the only one awake," you leaned forward and kissed the top of her head, "I'll be back soon to say goodbye." And the two of you were off.
Whenever the both of you had free time like this you two would head off to the strawberry fields. There aren't always many campers by the fields at once, so you and Luke would just grab and bunch and walk around through the forest before they noticed the missing strawberries. Most campers don't go there for the fear of monsters, but with Luke being the best sword fighter this camp has ever seen in years, you liked your odds. You guys decided to sit by where Percy had gotten claimed the day before, the sound of the ocean is just so calming.
"The Demeter kids really know what there doing with these strawberries," Luke groaned as he took a bite out of one of them.
"I think its in there job description," you both just chuckled and continued enjoying not just the strawberries but each others company. Not many opportunities for being alone lately. Then you remembered the look on Luke's face when Percy got claimed. Why wasn't he happy for him after all the time he spent helping him get claimed just the day before?
"Hey Luke, can I ask you something?" You yourself weren't sure if you should bring it up, but something in your gut was telling you too.
"Of course, you can ask me anything."
"Well, yesterday when Percy got claimed, how did you feel about it?"
"Hmm? I was happy for him, sucks he's gonna have to stay in that cabin all alone though. Why do you ask?"
"Yeah.. well I don't know when I turned to you, you just seemed kind of upset?"
"What? Why would I be upset?" Luke started smiling like you were crazy. Hey, maybe you were just seeing things.
"I don't know, maybe I'm just going crazy. Oh what would my mother think of her legacy losing her marbles," you giggled to yourself and turned to Luke, he was laughing but it felt like the mention of your mom hit a nerve. He knows she isn't his biggest fan so that's probably it. You both moved on and continued like normally till the lunch bell went off, which was your sign to start heading back. You both split up and sat at your cabins table with this rest of your siblings.
"Hey Annie," you greeted as you sat in the seat next Annabeth.
"Hey your back," she smiled. "I'm leaving after lunch."
"Better make this lunch count, you're probably not gonna have so many good ones out on the road," you joked. You're not really joking though. You remember back on the times when you and Luke were on the road with barely enough to eat, not fun times. You stopped thinking about it and continued to send your last moments with your dear sister before she goes off her on her dangerous quest. Please gods, mom, let her come back safe. You both finished up and walked over to your cabin and helped her finish packing up.
"I gotta go pick up Percy now."
"I'm coming with you? I'm spending all the time I can with you before Percy and Grover take you away from meee." Annabeth just rolled her eyes at you (you could still see her smile though) as you both walked over to the Poseidon cabin. When you walked in you saw Luke talking with Percy. He was giving him something.
"Hey Percy, watchu got there?" You asked as you leaned on the door frame.
"Some.. converse? Pretty cool.." He looked to Luke to see if he got it right, you just smiled knowing what the shoes really were.
"Maia," Luke said, and the shoes grew some wings.
"Yup, pretty cool shoes." Luke smirked and the two boys stood up and started walking toward the door. Percy stood next to Annabeth and you leaned in and gave them both a hug.
"Come back safe you two," you looked Percy up and down, "no funny business either."
"Haha very funny, we're not like you and Luke," Annabeth rolled her eyes, AGAIN.
"Roll your eyes at me again and they'll get stuck like that." Percy decided to stay silent, which you thought was funny. And just like that, they were off.
You pretended to wipe a tear from your eye, "They grow up so fast," You turned to Luke who was smiling down at you. You couldn't help yourself and just threw your arms around him and kissed him.
As you days went on, you still had that nagging feeling in your gut that something was off. But this time you just decided to ignore it. Questioning Luke got you no where so maybe you were just overthinking it.
The night before the trio was supposed to return, you were instantly pulled into a dream. You were standing back in the spot that you and Luke went to regularly by the water. Except it wasn't any normal dream, it was a demigod dream. And how did you know? You were currently standing next to your mother, Athena.
"Hey mom." You waved, she just nodded back.
"Hello Y/N."
"Soo.. what's up?" Normally you wouldn't be shocked of her appearing in a dream, but this time she had an extra amount of seriousness clouding her features as she continued to stare at the ocean.
"That Luke of yours, he seems off doesn't he?" You wanted to deny it, but you knew she was right. You couldn't help but just nod. "You get your instincts from me you know. I'd take it as disrespect for you to not trust them."
"But mom, I don't even know what it is that's bothering me. What am I supposed to do? Question him from a look I'm not even sure was on his face?"
"If you're not sure, why's it still bothering you?" You went silent, she was right. Mother knows best.
"You've never liked him, is that it?" You accused.
"Excuse me but this isn't a matter of me liking your little boyfriend, it's a matter of whats at stake right now. You saw the look on his face when that forbidden kid was revealed. And what was with that gift, hmm?" Athena was saying so much yet so little at the same time. This is one of the few times you've felt so useless, and it just had to be in front of your mother.
"I-" You looked down at your feet, ".. mom can't you just give me a clue, just once can you help me out here."
"You know us gods can't interfere," she stared daggers at you, and you started getting nervous, more than you already were at least. "I know you're smarter than this" It suddenly dawned on you what she was accusing Luke of, but you know he wouldn't do that, right?
You looked back at her, "He wouldn't."
"You really believe that?" You faltered for a moment.
"Of.. of course I do." Your mom just closed her eyes and shook her head.
"I thought you were smarted than this. I can't believe this boy has left you so blind." And with that, Athena and the setting around you started to disappear. You tried reaching out, trying to say that you are smart, but everything went black.
You shot up from your bed in a cold sweat, you were panting heavily. You turned over to check your alarm.
[6AM]
You looked around to see everyone still asleep. You knew you wouldn't be able to fall back asleep so you just went to go take a shower, wash off all the sweat and think. When you hopped in you just stood there under the water. You couldn't shake the conversation you had with your mother. Luke hadn't left you blind. You've known him for years, you knew him better than anyone. Especially better than Athena.
You got out and got ready for the day. This was the day Annabeth, Percy, and Grover were supposed to return. You tried to think on that instead, the positive. You hoped it was positive at least. It was now around 7:30AM, yes you took that long getting ready, what about it? You had a lot of thinking to do in the shower, and cool enough this was also the time Luke wakes up. You made your way to the Hermes cabin, watching the early birds, or Apollo cabin, sit around making haikus (every now and then they'd make a good one).
You snuck your way into the Hermes cabin, seeing everyone was still asleep. You tip-toed over to your boyfriends bed and kneeled down beside his bed, faces leveled together.
"Hey," you started to softly shake him awake, "Luke wake up." You made sure to whisper so no one around would also wake up. Luke started to stir awake. He softly groaned and rubbed his eyes before opening then. "Hey there gorgeous," you winked.
He chuckled and whispered back, "Hey beautiful." Morning voice is actually so hot. Luke sat up and pulled you up and into bed with him. You tried not giggle too loud as you snuggled closer to him. You were so close you were breathing in his scent. And there it was again, your gut feeling telling you something was wrong. After that conversation with your mom the feeling just got even worse.
"Luke," you laid on you stomach directly next to Luke, who was laying on his back, "aren't you excited? Percy, Annabeth and Grover come back today." You smiled, and so did Luke, but his smile didn't reach his eyes the way they normally do. What's up with him?
"Yup, excited to see them again." Morning voice didn't sound as hot when he didn't sound that happy to see them as he said he was.
"You don't sound that excited."
"What?"
"Luke are you hiding something?" He shifted for a split second, like he wasn't expecting such a question.
"From you? No, never." You felt uneasy, but what could you even do at this point. You can't go ballistic over an instinct.
"Fine, but you should really brush your teeth."
"You woke me up?"
You just laughed and got up from Luke's bed as he left to go get ready, and brush his teeth from that deadly breathe of his. When he walked out the bathroom in his classic orange camp Half-Blood t-shirt, you knew it was time to head out for breakfast.
As the day went on, you were anticipating the arrival of your fellow campers, mostly your sister. You loved her dearly and missed having her around. Despite her being a few years younger, she was one of your best friends. And finally she was back, and without hesitation you ran up to her and pulled her into a hug.
"Annie, you're safe!" You hugged her tightly as you both swung side to side.
"You crushing me," She groaned and you pulled away holding by the shoulders.
"You survived the underworld, you can survive my hugs." You looked around then noticed something. "Wait, where's Percy?" Annabeth looked a little worried.
"We found the master bolt despite it being past deadline. Percy went to give it back alone."
"Kids ballsy," you scoffed. "Or he has a massive death wish." Annabeth laughed softly but you could tell she was nervous. "Hey you guys made it this far, he'll be fine." She just nodded and looked up and you.
"So, wanna hear about the quest?"
"Uh, duh? And don't think mom didn't tell me about the tunnel of love." Annabeth tried looking at you with her intimidating face that read 'shut up or else' but it doesn't work out very well when she's blushing. "She said and I quote 'get your sister away from that reckless water boy'," you quoted while waving around your finger, Annabeth just groaned loudly and walked off with you laughing as you followed behind her.
Annabeth started explaining the story. Clarisse was the lightning thief? Ares covering for her would make sense but you don't know, something didn't add up.
"Yeah we called Chiron but Luke answered, he said he'd tell Chiron about it." Why didn't you know about this? And you knew Chiron definitely didn't either, so what the hell? You were cut from your thoughts when you heard cheering outside. You and Annabeth ran outside and saw Percy walking back to camp. You turned and saw Annabeth eyes go wide and run up to Percy, you saw her whisper something but didn't think much of it and went over to Luke, who was also watching the scene.
"Isn't it cool he made it back" You asked Luke.
"Amazing." Percy and Annabeth were now walking by you two, gesturing for you to follow them, which you did. As you looked over to Luke.
"Why didn't you tell me the Lightning thief was Clarisse." He swallowed.
"Oh, just slipped my mind." And he flashed you that smile of his, it doesn't looked as genuine any more. And now you four were standing in an empty Hermes cabin conspiring. You just zoned out of the conversation. Mom, please, this is the first time I wished you were wrong. Don't hold it against me.
Luke disappeared for a little bit, and to our understanding it was to inform Chiron of who the thief really was. Then, he disappeared with Percy into the woods. You were a little nervous, Luke made a new sword, Backbiter, made of both celestial bronze and steel. Hopefully there sparring would be fine.
Oh how wrong you were.
While alone in your cabin, you were organizing the mess of books when you saw Luke rushing through the doors.
"Luke are you okay, why the rush?"
"We need to talk." You were confused, but weirdly felt sweat a single drop of sweat fall from the back of your neck.
"Of course, whats up?" You said as you slid the last book onto the bookshelf and turned toward Luke.
"Remember our quest together, all that darkness and the monsters growing stronger. Don't you think all this is useless. How we're just pawns for the gods in this silly game they should've been over thrown from years ago-" Luke was rambling.
"Luke.. slow down. What are you saying? What do you mean over thrown?"
"I mean, the only reason their still around is for us, and even then they still don't treat us with the respect we deserve."
"Luke, that's our parents you're talking about. They're trying their best."
“That’s supposed to make me love them? They're killing the world and don't even seem to care. We need to start over, that's what he's been telling me in my dreams."
"Luke, what the hell are you talking about, whose 'he?'"
"Kronos." Your eyes widened, you couldn't believe what you were hearing. this couldn't be true.
"Luke, he's brainwashing you."
"No he's not. He's opening my eyes to the truth. In all the time I've been here, my dad sent me on one quest, a quest that's already been done. And I come back with this!" He angrily pointed at the scar on his face. "And all I got was pity. That's when he started speaking to me. That's where I got the ideas."
Your mouth went dry and your knees started to wobble, you couldn't believe what you were hearing. "You.. you stole the master bolt and Hades' helm, didn't you."
"And it was so easy, the gods are so full of themselves they wouldn't ever believe that someone would steal from them. And ares wouldn't have been easier to turn on my side." You didn't even recognize the man standing in front of you anymore.
"Why are you telling me all this?"
"Well, I can't continue keeping secrets from my dear girlfriend. I'm here to take you with me. Your beautiful brain is the last piece I need."
You wanted to cry. The thought was tempting. You saw how kids got ignored, how the unclaimed flooded the Hermes cabin, how most kids never hear from their parents, and how kids of minor gods don't even have cabins. You loved Luke with all your heart, you didn't want to leave him. You knew your choice.
"Luke, this is wrong. You have to know you can't just over throw the gods. They are your family."
"You're the brainwashed one here Y/N, you have to be if you can't see I'm right." He turned for the door, but you caught his wrist.
"You can't start a war like this. So many people will lose their lives." You were pleading with him. He turned to face you.
"It's the only way the gods notice, I have to go now. Last chance, are you coming with me or not." Tears were threatening to escape your eyes.
"You know I can't. I can't betray my mother." Tears were falling from your eyes, and you saw one fall from Luke's as well. He leaned and kissed you deeply and pulled away.
"Then this is goodbye." He rushed out your cabin and left you in tears. That was the last kiss you'd ever have with him. He was so gone and you didn't think you could bring him back. And that's when Annabeth came running and yelling.
"Percy's in the infirmary close to death, hurry!"
And so you wiped your tears and hurried. And there he was, a greenish grayish color with a lump on his hand.
"What the hell happened to him?" You asked worriedly.
"Looks like a pit scorpion bite, we won't know more till he wakes up." Chiron said.
Annabeth turned over to Chiron, "So did you interrogate Clarisse?"
"And why would I do that?" Chiron asked.
"What are you talking about, didn't Luke tell you she's the lightning thief?" Annabeth said.
"No he didn't," they both turned to you, looking more confused than ever. "He didn't snitch on Clarisse because it wasn't her. Luke's working for Kronos." You voice was cracking and Annabeth and Chiron both exchanged looks of worry.
"Here we are again." Percy said. Annabeth turned around and called him an idiot, ah. Young love. You feel bitter now but whatever.
"Percy. Explain everything now." And he did. He explained Luke's plan, the same one he explained to you, and how he said Percy couldn't be there and had the pit scorpion sting him. You then explained how he tried to recruit you and was now gone to who knows where. It went silent.
"I need to be alone." You excused yourself and went running to your cabin. The second you made it to your ned you collapsed and you immediately sobbing. This was Luke, your Luke, and now suddenly he was working with Kronos?? You just couldn't believe it.
As weeks went on, you became worse. You can never bring yourself to leave your bed unless absolutely necessary. Your friends and family around you started getting worried, they tried so much but nothing seems to work. At camp, you were the sweet older sister people came to for advice, now you were the girl who could barely say three or more words at a time. It got harder when Annabeth left, normally when she's gone the head counselor job would be handed to you. Of course, now that can't happen in your state. You're losing sleep and couldn't be bothered to make your self look presentable.
After about three months, you put yourself to sleep and you were pulled right back into a dream. You were standing in your special spot with Luke, and how bad you wanted to wake up but you couldn't. It was your mother who brought you back here.
"He's never coming back you know." You could barely cry, your eyes were dry. You stood there without saying anything. "I knew I never trusted him."
"Yeah because you always have to be right about everything don't you?"
"You better watch how you speak to me." Athena glared down at you, normally you'd be scared but you couldn't care less right now.
"Why, whats the point? Why are you even here? To what, rub it in my face that you were right about Luke?"
"I'm here to talk some sense into you. You're a daughter of Athena, you should be thinking with your brain, not your emotions. Yet that's the problem, you're not thinking clearly. Your ruining yourself over some guy."
"Mom," your voice was cracking. "please."
"Please what? You're grown enough to know right from wrong. Luke was just a man, nothing more nothing less." And somehow, some tears started to flow.
"No he wasn't," your voice was barely higher than a whisper.
"Speak up, you know how I feel about mumbling."
"He was more than just a man, mother," you were just barely yelling.
"Oh really, what are you saying to me? That a man who can so easily betray the gods and everything you stand for is the man for you? The love of your life? The man you would've married and had a family with?" Athena's words dripped with condescension, and it made your blood boil.
"You know what, yeah. He is, or was, or whatever. And I don't care what you have to say about it. Any future advice you have? Keep it." You were now yelling.
"Watch yourself, you might regret this. No daughter of mine will speak to me like this."
"No mother treats her daughter like her emotions don't matter, you just see me as another pawn to do your bidding. Get me out of this stupid fucking dream. NOW!" You demanded.
Athena looked at you with a face you couldn't decipher, before letting you go. The dream went black and you shot up awake just like the last time. Athena opened your eyes, just not in the way she hoped. What you knew? She didn't care about your emotions, just your ability to carry out her duties. Luke was right, and it pained you. You didn't know what to do, or who to stand with anymore.

ONTO THE LOREEE (click read more if interested)
AUNDREA (Angie)
Their father, Terrance Maheswaran, had planned to tell Angie her "amazing" heritage and terrifying adventures that would’ve laid ahead of her when she was 13, packing up her gift and a letter explaining everything for when she arrived at chb,
but in a sick cruel, twist of events, their Father died in a large explosion when she was working on an invention (a kid from the village had jacked with the oil rig, causing the generator to explode, Setting off The highly explosive fireworks and chemicals inside)
That had left her with a dead father, bad Eye, half her face burned and neglected trauma she refuses to Talk about, and would much rather throw herself into her inventions when someone Tries to make her talk.
But now she's dealing with a busted home, a hospital bill, a present, and a letter telling Her she's the daughter of greek goddess athena? Obviously she steals car parts and pieces from a local news station, making a warrant out for her arrest, (what half-blood hasn't?) as Well as an epic police chase scene while she blasted barbie girl and crashing Through the chb woods into A tree as well as a girls wine bottle (All jokes aside she was practically dashing to half blood all the way from the empty land if El Paso, Texas)
All of this has taken place somewhere after the pjo books (I thinkkk???? Me and my friends have yet to decide a timeline, so for now we ball ig)

NADIA
daughter of Dionysus!
One of her first trips to the casino when she was 8 caused the trigger of her madness. Nadia got invested watching a poker game that when it was time to leave and someone interrupted her trance, she suddenly got angry and started clawing at the attendants face. Her mother was banned from the casino. This news spread about a demon child attacking anyone that touched her with glowing purple eyes. This also didn’t help Layla’s and Nadia’s money situation as that casino was quite common for clients. The rumours spread to Layla calling her a “temptress” and “demon mother” since she was the only one to calm Nadia and she “slept around” so she could have “easily slept with a demon and gave birth to a monster”. Many conspiracists found out and religious freaks plotted to kill them both. A ritual for the child and murder for the mother.
She is the daughter to Layla Mansour when Layla had a one night stand with a disguised Dionysus (idfk how it works don’t come at me). Layla was a prostitute that used her body to get in the pants of high ranking officials that cheat on their wives but when Nadia was born, she had a new purpose. Living. Nadia was Layla’s break from disgusting men and she tried to protect Nadia as long as she could. Money was tight and Layla took more jobs. By the time Nadia had just turned 8, she was taken on her mother’s “trips” to nice hotels and casinos etc.
(Shit goes from 0-1000 real quick in Vegas ig /j)
During the night on a full moon on the 30th of October at 3 am. A 10 year old Nadia found her mother killed with a shot to the head.(she only saw the body im not that mean to nadia) (yea right 🙄) The religious freaks mysteriously went mad (I wonder could it be Nadia whhhaaaattt). Nadia ran away blah blah blah she’s 11 and at camp half blood woo. (My friend is so funny when talking abt Nadia lmfao)
Her first year there she was sceptical and hoarded shit, she was claimed when she first gambled with Dionysus and woo new brothers. They introduced her to drinking (bad brothers >:() and the fact she isn’t affected like normal people by alcohol if she wants and skaboosh wine gal emerged. Her need for money couldn’t be solved with taking stray drachmas from the floor (don’t ask me just accept what I say as fact and just take it) so she started a gambling activity of sorts. Second year is when she started gaining reputation and it went pretty normal until the start of her third year this random ass kid crashed their weirdoes car causing Nadia to drop her drinking making it undrinkable. (How she met Angie!)

DEX
Written by my friend Rohan!
DEAR GOD MY FRIEND DIDNT HOLD BACK ON THE ANGST SO BE PREPARED FOR
•C@NABLISM
•DEATH
AND OTHER TRIGGERING STUFF
Dex was born in China before moving to the US when they were 2. They had a rough life, being forced into anything that had extra credit or talent labeled on it, since they’re mom wanted them to be able to be a dutiful citizen of the US.
Dex’s mom; Beihe was on a vacation in the US when she had gotten pregnant with a one night stand with the disguised Hades. Beihe was ostracized from her family when she came home pregnant, and when she gave birth she moved to the US.
Soon Dex was forced to learn anything and everything from a young age, it didn’t matter what it was; Their mom wanted them to be a prodigy in everything, the most prominent things being Violin, piano and kung fu. Dex had come out to their mom, and soon it became something to use against them.
Dex and their mom were in constant arguments daily, but by evening their mom was parading them through downtown before they went to eat dinner and go to bed. But by the age of 9 an accident had occurred, and right in front of Dex’s eyes their mom was turned into a puddle of flesh, organs, blood, and other bodily fluids. (It was not finger licking good ☹️ /j)
It had left Dex with scars along their body and trauma to deal with. When they were found they were placed into their fathers custody, and that's when they gained an accepting parent.
And soon they transitioned and changed their name with their fathers permission, and was trained and taught languages and fighting styles and mainly how to fight with a spear. Dex has powers but doesn’t know about them, since they are constantly helping their father and only have enough time to sleep and eat whilst doing so.
They were sent to the camp as a spy when their father had come up with the idea, and sent them a monthly allowance for it. They have books and journals in different languages, and can contact their father through a mirror that they have hidden.
Dex when Nadia and Angie find out their a spy almost murders them in a fit of fear, before they leave them kinda beat up and make them swear they won’t tell anyone. And grow kinda distant for a while from them, and become scared to touch them after watching them recover slowly from a distance. They don’t report this to their dad.

Together they go on a journey??? TO THE WEST! nah jk- but so far we haven't really written a concrete story yet, it's mostly just dealing with Dexs betrayl rn but I'll update when any changes occur!<3

Reasons why The Last Day of Summer from The Lightning Thief musical is an amazing song:
1.) “What do you do when it’s up to you to choose: has something ended or begun?”  It’s the end of the book, the musical, but Percy has to decide if this is the end of his story. This line does an amazing job at explaining Percy’s dilemma.
2.) “Do I stay because it’s safer? Back to the home I left behind. I could stay and train for a peace of the action, but what about peace of mind?” In Good Kid, Percy complains that no has ever asked him if he’d like to come around and stay, but in The Last Day of Summer, the camp directors are asking him exactly that - and he doesn’t have answer. Being a year-round camper allows Percy to strengthen his skillset as a demigod so he can better prepare for a world of monsters, but it requires him to sacrifice the chance to lead a somewhat normal life. I find it admirable that even though he has begun to embrace his godly side, he still has a grasp on his humanity.
3.) “Perry Johannsson, this means you.” I love this gag that Mr. D deliberately choose to say Percy’s name wrong the entire musical, and also the entire five book series.
4.) “Sometimes, family is worth the trouble. Believe me.” “I guess we both have a choice to make, Seaweed Brain.” I love the contrast between that moment in Killer Quest when Annabeth calls Percy Seaweed Brain in an attempt to insult him versus in The Last Day of Summer when it becomes almost a mockery of their initial rivalry. Here, Annabeth acknowledges their rocky start, but chooses to not let it define the future of their friendship, and I love that for them. Additionally, Annabeth lets her guard down and briefly confides in Percy, which goes to show that she has begun to trust him and, more so, heed his advice. Their friendship is portrayed so beautifully.
5.) “Tough last day?” I’m really enjoy all of these callbacks we are getting in this song. When Luke ask Percy ‘Tough first day?’ in Their Sign, Luke has yet to decide if Percy will be a threat to his plan to overthrow the gods. Here, Luke knows Percy is a threat and intends on eliminating him.
6.) “You’re the lightning thief.” “The oracle warned you. ‘Betrayed by a friend.’” Percy saying the title of the show, and Luke quoting the line referring to his betrayal >>>>
7.) “I’ll do anything. I don’t care if I hurt anyone. It doesn’t pay to be a good kid, a good kid, a good son.” This line right here forces the listener to empathize with Luke. While we may not agree with the decision he makes, we understand why he makes them: because he was once was where Percy is.
8.) “Soon, you’ll see what I did.” Throughout the PJO series, we see Percy have resentment toward Luke for good reasons, but when Percy denies the gods offer in 'The Last Olympian', he, in a round-about way, defends Luke. Even as Percy grows older, he understands Luke’s stance toward the gods and the shitty system they created of sending their kids off to do their bidding. Luke was right. In time, Percy would soon see what he did and why he did it.
The Last Day of Summer is such a beautiful song. The callback to previous songs in the musical, Annabeth and Percy becoming good friends, Luke’s reprise of Good Kid, the foreshadowing that Percy will grow up to understand why Luke is doing what he’s doing. Just, everything about it is so amazing!

Percy nods amiably, then he takes another bite of the sandwich, and while he munches he says, “Oh, and I also met some weird guy back at the park. He was alright I guess, but he kept calling me Poseidon as if that was my name.” Sally chokes on absolutely nothing immediately, because what?

I want a long fanfic...
Correction I want a long jercy fanfic but I can't find one with the theme I want. It's painfully sad, so I started rambling on some of my favorite Ao3 tags "Cafeteria, Royalty, mermaid, Criminals, Hogwarts.... Time Travel."
but then I was attacked by this super cool idea to write THE fanfic.....You know a painfully specific fanfic that is so specific you have to write it word for word....I wanted a Percy Jackson fanfic, about the Jercy couple and I wanted time travel....
But not time travel... EL I traveled in time, but I have problems I don't have the physical books of the lost hero onwards.... To reread why obviously I have to reread the whole saga if I want to properly write time travel.
Here's my humble plot for now, which if anyone wants to write it and doesn't have the same problem as me I would be very very very very seriously very grateful....
How does this start, that's right!.... See I didn't want to time travel, I was hoping that after years of fighting monsters, being a demigod, being in camp to "survive", fulfilling the prophecy of the 7, I could be more than that...well I really didn't I died on a "mission" and as I closed my eyes, my memories pass I was hoping to be at rest with the heroes.... Maybe seeing Nico as he cursed me for dying young.... Something like that
But surprise it wasn't like that instead what followed were mystical voices (nothing weird of course), black, white, lots of colored lights, a vague explanation about my new mission and then I was falling to wake up in the past in the middle of the forest in a training with Lupa, again... Well we start again, my name is Jason Grace, son of Jupiter, I died and some strange gods brought me back to the past.
O
Jason dies and is sent to the past, at first he tries to follow a plan that doesn't alter the important events too much (because the gods that sent him to the past evidently didn't tell him what to do) but soon he finds out that Percy also returned, so it's time to worry when apparently he also died, maybe they should alter a little bit the plans of Cronos and Gaea if something bigger sent them to the past.
A quick draft of the idea that just crossed my mind.

A/N hehehe we love the angst i hope you enjoy this. Sorry its taking me so long to do requests the holidays have made me tired lol ALSO this is probably not canon as i haven’t read this book in awhile
Tumblr media
The battle was here and you had to choose. You didn't want to hurt camp but Luke has been manipulating you from the start. Ever since you got to camp. Every quest you were on. You always heard him in your head. Telling you that you could change the world and finally be noticed by your parent and you believed him.
So you fed him information you tried to give fake information once but apparently he had another spy who told him differently so you learned to not give anything fake. Only some half truths which eventually turned into full truths.
You did like Percy and didn't want to hurt him. He was the only one there for you besides Annabeth and Luke but in the prophecy if it's about him he was gonna die anyway. So if the only person that was there for you was gonna die why even try?.
You were at camp when Percy contacted Chiron to bring all the campers to where he was. You knew the battle was gonna start soon. You all got there and a few hours later it began.
You snuck off in the middle of all the chaos and went to contact Luke who merged with Kronos. You knew it was now Kronos but something about his mannerisms still seemed like Luke to you. You thought maybe he was still in there.
“What are their plans” Luke/Kronos demanded as soon as the iris message came through.
You told him everything you knew and he nodded.
“Good job. When i get there i want you to come to me i want to see the shock on Jackson's face”
Your eyes widened “W-what?”
Kronos smirked “What? You thought you wouldn't fight in battle against your camp with me?”
You swallowed it was much easier to believe this was Kronos then Luke right now.
He continued his sentence. “That's too bad Y/n you will be joining my side when i get there” He reached out and swiped through the message.
You sat in the room alone now. A tear escaped your eye before you could stop it. Suddenly the door opened.
“Y/n! We've been looking for you it's time to go”
It was Percy with his messy black hair and sea green eyes.
You weakly smiled “Sorry i just i needed a minute”
He walked forward to stand next to you. You were shocked when he reached out to hug you. “If we make it out of this i need to tell you something Y/n”
You broke from the hug and stared at him. “Alright Percy i'll remind you we both know that you will forget”
He laughed along with you. Why couldn't this moment last forever?
You were now on the bridge with Kronos coming toward you on his horse. At that moment you knew it was time to make the choice. You knew he would call you forward and ask you to join him by his side. What you didn't know was if you could not accept and fight next to Percy.
You turned your head to Percy. This might be the last time you'll see him from the same side.
Finally Kronos made it there. You Percy, and Annabeth all stared him down.
He smirked just like Luke used to do. “Oh Y/n you know what time it is” He taunted.
Percy and Annabeth’s heads snapped towards yours “What's he talking about Y/n?” Percy asked, his head tilted.
You held in your tears as you whispered to them “I'm sorry” and walked forward to join Kronos’s side. Both Percys and Annabeths moths parted in shock. The look in their eyes made your heart break.
Kronos let out a laugh “You should see your faces right now it's amusing really” He let out another laugh and continued “What Jackson do you think they actually cared for you? No they were on my side the whole time”
Before anyone could say anything Annabeth broke forward “You TRAITOR I TRUSTED YOU” She pointed at you as tears escaped both of your eyes.
“I'm sorry” You repeated over and over.
Finally Percy did something. He reached forward and grabbed Annabeth's hand and pulled her back. “Don't” you could hear him mutter to her.
His eyes met yours. Instead of seeing the usual care that he had in his eyes he had hurt and disappointment in them. “How could you Y/n? W-we loved you. You were our friend”
You winced at the past tense words he used but before you could say anything Kronos broke in “This is getting tiring ive already seen the broken look in little Jackson's eyes its time to fight”
That was the last time you saw Percy besides from where you fell with Ethan. You apologized again and let go from where you held on to.
Percy screamed as he watched you fall, unable to do anything.

🌊Percabeth🦉 & ☀️Solangelo🌟
Tumblr media
The Riordan Verse has a new book coming out that's focused solely on Nico and Will! Which I couldn't be more thrilled and excited about! It's called "The Sun and The Star" and I'm sooo ready for it. Like completely. And so I'm my excitement, I'm making a post dedicated to my 2 favorite Riordan Verse ships, Percabeth and Solangelo, because they are amazing 😍
Tumblr media
Starting with Nico and Will, because it's their book that's coming out soon! They are the epitome of the golden retriever puppy and black cat trope. Lol i love it. And i fully anticipate and plan to add to this with quotes/moments between them that I love from the new book too. Also I'd hope it wouldn't need to be said, but spoilers for all PJO books from this point on, just to be on the safe side. If you don't want possible spoilers, don't read further!
"Nico,” I said at last, “shouldn’t you be sitting at the Hades table?”He shrugged. “Technically, yes. But if I sit alone at my table, strange things happen. Cracks open in the floor. Zombies crawl out and start roaming around. It’s a mood disorder. I can’t control it. That’s what I told Chiron.“And is it true?” I asked.Nico smiled thinly. “I have a note from my doctor.” Will raised his hand. “I’m his doctor.” “Chiron decided it wasn’t worth arguing about,” Nico said. “As long as I sit at a table with other people, like…oh, these guys for instance…the zombies stay away. Everybody’s happier.” Will nodded serenely. “It’s the strangest thing. Not that Nico would ever misuse his powers to get what he wants.” “Of course not,” Nico agreed."
"At this point, you may be wondering how I felt seeing my son with Nico di Angelo. I’ll admit I did not understand Will’s attraction to a child of Hades, but if the dark foreboding type was what made Will happy… Oh perhaps some of you are wondering how I felt seeing him with a boyfriend rather than a girlfriend. If that’s the case, please. We gods are not hung up about such things."
Tumblr media
Art by Cloud!
“In the meantime, no one should roam the camp alone. Use the buddy system.” “Understood! Nico, will you be my buddy?” “You’re a dork. The two of them strolled off bickering"
“I apologize for my boyfriend.” “Could you not-?” “Oh I’m sorry, would you prefer special guy? Or significant other?” “More like significant annoyance in your case.”
“I’m guessing that was a Star Wars reference. My boyfriend is a Star Wars geek of the worst kind.” “Okay, signor Mythomagic, if you’d just watch the original trilogy with me-"
“Ladies and gentlemen, my glow-in-the-dark boyfriend.” “Could you not?!”
“NOBODY KILLS MY DAD AND NOBODY HITS MY BOYFRIEND!”
"You guys go," Will told me, "The chariot is only designed for three and after that shadow travel, Nico is going to pass out any second." "No I'm not," Nico complained, then passed out. Will caught him in a fireman's carry and took him away. "Good luck! I'm going to get the Lord of Darkness some Gatorade!"

I'm 1000% reserving a spot here for new quotes from the new book for Solangelo that I will edit in after it releases. Lol and no, im not sorry. They are everything each other need 😍😍
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Percabeth have so many moments. Their relationship is so cute and so much fun! I could honestly talk about it all the time and they clearly love each other so much. The epitome of childhood friends to Lovers with so much bickering happening lol
Tumblr media
"I imagined she was going to say, You killed a Minotaur! or Wow, you're so awesome! or something like that. Instead she said, "You drool when you sleep."
"Before I could lose my courage, I said, "Don't I get a kiss for luck? It's kind of a tradition, right?" I figured she would punch me. Instead, she drew her knife and stared at the army marching toward us. "Come back alive, Seaweed Brain. Then, we'll see."
"Percy smiled at her - that sarcastic troublemaker smile that had annoyed her for years but eventually had become endearing. His sea-green eyes were as gorgeous as she remembered. His dark hair was swept to one side, like he'd just come from a walk on the beach. He looked even better than he had six months ago - tanner and taller, leaner and more muscular.Percy threw his arms around her. They kissed and for a moment nothing else mattered. An asteroid could have hit the planet and wiped out all life, and Annabeth wouldn't have cared."
"Annabeth's voice caught on the word friend. Percy was a lot more than that. Even boyfriend really didn't cover it. They'd been through so much together, at this point Percy was part of her--a sometimes annoying part, sure, but definitely a part she could not live without."
"Percy pulled Annabeth close and kissed her...long enough for it to get really awkward for Piper, though she said nothing."
"Very slowly, using only two fingers, Annabeth drew her dagger. Instead of dropping it, she tossed it as far as she could into the water. Octavian made a squeaking sound. “What was that for? I didn’t say toss it! That could’ve been evidence. Or spoils of war! You other two…” He pointed his blade at Hazel and Piper. “Put your weapons on the dock. No funny bus—” All around the Romans, Charleston Harbor erupted like a Las Vegas fountain putting on a show. When the wall of seawater subsided, the three Romans were in the bay, spluttering and frantically trying to stay afloat in their armor. Percy stood on the dock, holding Annabeth’s dagger. “You dropped this,” he said, totally poker-faced. Annabeth threw her arms around him. “I love you!” “Guys,” Hazel interrupted. She had a little smile on her face. “We need to hurry."
Tumblr media
"You promised, Seaweed Brain. We would not get separated! Ever again!" “You’re impossible!” “Love you too!"
"And it was the best underwater kiss of all time"
"We’re staying together’ he promised ‘you’re not getting away from me. Never again" Only then did she understand what would happen. A one way trip. A very hard fall. ‘As long as we’re together’ she said."
"Once she was gone, I knelt next to Annabeth and felt her forehead. She was still burning up. "You're cute when you're worried," she muttered. "Your eyebrows get all scrunched together." "You are not going to die while I owe you a favor," I said. "Why did you take that knife?" "You would've done the same for me." It was true. I guess we both knew it. Still, I felt like somebody was poking my heart with a cold metal rod."
"She put her hand on my spine, and my skin tingled. I moved her fingers to the one spot that grounded me to my mortal life. A thousand volts of electricity seemed to arc through my body."
“Annabeth ran in right behind him, and I’ll admit my heart did a little relay race in my chest when I saw her. It’s not that she tried to look good. We’d been doing so many combat missions lately, she hardly brushed her curly blond hair anymore, and she didn’t care what clothes she was wearing - usually the same old orange camp T-shirt and jeans, and once in a while her bronze armor. Her eyes were stormy gray. Most of the time we couldn’t get through a conversation without trying to strangle each other. Still, just seeing her made me feel fuzzy in the head."
"The world was ending and the only thing that really mattered was that she was alive"
Tumblr media
They gave up immortality for each other, Annabeth was the only person/thing Percy remembered when Hera wiped his memory and he forgot everything else, even who he was, they fell into Hell for each other, literally. Annabeth was who Percy thought of to keep him tethered to life. Annabeth jumped in front of a knife for Percy. I mean honestly. I love them so much. And I love seeing snippets of them through others eyes in the later book series too.
Tumblr media
I'm doing a Riordan Verse reread binge soon because both a TV show and a new book will be coming soon and my heart is soooo happy! These were some of my favorite books when I was younger snd they mostly still hold up as amazing even now!

9 Books
Hellooooo so sorry for the lateness of this.
The lovely @carryonsimoncarryonbaz tagged me a while ago and I forgot to answer (but I have remembered! A triumph with my goldfish brain for real)
Likewise, series will be a single entry for me. Also guys, I feel like I haven't read a physical book in way too long, so some of these might be favorite reads of the moment and of all time. Also in no particular order:
The Carry On trilogy by Rainbow Rowell (@rainbowrowell). I will never shut up about this series. The characters and writing are some of my favorite ever, and I love seeing everyone's interpretations on here of different lines and moments and uncovering new layers to all of their emotional journeys. If you like the chosen one trope and have ever wondered what happens to the hero once they've done the thing/fulfilled the prophecy, this is definitely for you.
The An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir. I have yet to read the last book though so no one spoil! But a super well done series with incredible worldbuilding, plot, and characters. Definitely not a light-hearted series though so like be forewarned.
Dragonfall by L.R. Lam (@lauraroselam) I read this recently but as soon as I finished it I had the urge to re-read it again (which I will when I have time) just to re-absorb and understand everything about the world and character. It's such an imaginative world with very well defined history and social norms that my lore-loving brain couldn't get enough of. Highly recommend and can't wait for the sequel.
The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan (obviously). One of my favorites of all time and a big marker of my childhood. Ashamed to say that I still haven't read The Blood of Olympus though, so don't come at me. I'm planning a reread of the full series at some point so I can actually remember what was going on before I read it.
The Wrath & The Dawn duology by Renée Ahdieh. This is a re-write/re-imagining of the tale of 1001 Nights. The characters in this were great, and Renée's descriptions were so beautiful and artistic. Being Middle Eastern myself, I really felt like she captured the essence of our food and culture. I just really loved reading a Middle Eastern-inspired fantasy for once. I like to go back to it a lot, and definitely need to read other books by this author.
Peter & The Starcatchers series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Another childhood favorite. This is a re-write/re-imagining of Peter Pan, and starts with the story of how he actually became Peter Pan. From what I remember of this series, I absolutely loved the first three books. The last two were pretty good as well, but we started getting into a more modern time period and it wasn't my favorite thing to explore.
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson. This was a recent read so it's definitely just kind of been on my mind a lot. If you like magic libraries and flirty banter, you should read this. I loved the concept of books being alive and dangerous, and I loved the two main characters a lot. Elizabeth was a surprising delight and I really loved how smart and adaptable she was. All in all, it was just very enjoyable and ticked a lot of my favorite boxes.
Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull. This is another childhood staple. (I legitamately haven't had the opportunity to sit and read in so long that I'm blanking on anything I may have read in more recent years, forgive me). This was a super fun series with the main plot being about two siblings being sent to live with their grandpa for the summer who they don't really know very well. It seems like a normal farm on the outside but when magical things keep happening on the premises, it's hard to keep that façade up.
Ok so I didn't make it to 9. Clearly I haven't read much recently, and it's actually hurting my ego. This is tragic. I have a lot of books, but reading and buying books are lowkey separate hobbies for me. Someone recommend good books to me down below please and I will endeavor to read them.
I'll tag some people below whose usernames I actually know off the top of my head (sorry to any of my mutuals who don't see their names here), but I'd love to see anyone's favorites so feel free to tag me and participate.

In The Last Olympian, after they received the gifts, what do you think happened? how was percy and annabeth after he turned down immortality? I imagine them trying to talk to each other but always someone coming to talk to them. and when they get home with that moment they're leaving in the book
*This one focuses on Percy and Annabeth right after the Olympian Council rewards them**Still closed to new requests, just catching up**
The Olympian Council broke up shortly after Percy walked through the Cyclopes honor guard, which was fine with Annabeth.  She was still dazed that she’d been named the official architect of Olympus, charged with redesigning the half-destroyed city.  But even that had been temporarily overshadowed by the fact that Percy had just turned down Zeus’s offer of immortality and then turned to look at her.
She left the throne room as quickly as she could without being too obvious about it (she hoped).  While she walked, her mind was buzzing.  What exactly did she want to say?
So, you came back alive.  I think I owe you a kiss.
War’s over.  Prophecy’s over.  And I think I owe you a kiss.
Look, I know it’s been a crazy long day, but I think I owe you a kiss.
Ugh, why was this so hard?  Annabeth moistened her lips, then gave herself a mental shake.  After everything else they’d done the last few days, this part shouldn’t feel so difficult.  But quite frankly, she almost thought it’d be less intimidating to tangle with Kronos again.  Or at least a few dracaenae and maybe a Hyberborean giant or two.
All of her, admittedly half-made, plans went immediately out of her head, though, when she found Percy waiting for her just outside the throne room doors.
“Hey,” she said, a little breathlessly.
“Hey.”  He grinned.  “How’re you feeling, official architect of Olympus?”
She gave a small laugh.  “Honestly?  A little overwhelmed.  But excited.  Plus, Apollo fixed my arm,” she demonstrated bending and straightening it, “so that’s good, too.”
“Definitely.”  Percy took a deep breath, then moved fractionally closer to her, causing Annabeth’s heart to start racing.  “So—”
“You are welcome about that arm.”  A voice interrupted whatever Percy had been about to say.  Apollo approached them, human-sized and beaming, dressed like a member of a boy band.  “I will accept a burnt offering of the dessert of your choice.”
“Of course, Lord Apollo,” Annabeth said, trying to swallow back her disappointment at his terrible timing.  “I really appreciate your help.”
“Obviously.”  Apollo held up his hands.  “Now, I’ve been working on a haiku—”
“Gee, Lord Apollo, we’d love to stay and listen,” Percy said, “but we’ve bothered all of you on Olympus for long enough.  We’d better go.”  He grabbed Annabeth’s hand and they walked quickly away before the god could start spouting poetry.
“Sorry about that,” Percy said as they started down the hill.  He hadn’t let go of her hand, and Annabeth didn’t mind.  “I don’t want to be rude and piss any of them off so soon, but I’ve heard Apollo recite before and—”
“You made the right call,” Annabeth said.  Tentatively, she squeezed his hand.  Percy shot her a nervous smile and returned the pressure.
Unfortunately, before they could continue their conversation, Percy spotted Hermes in a courtyard off the main road.
Percy glanced at her, then said, “I’ll meet you at the elevator.”
“You sure?”  Annabeth asked.  But the look on his face was equal parts determined and resigned.  She also knew it probably wouldn’t be best for her to join him in talking to Hermes right now.  Her heart squeezed thinking of Luke, but she wasn’t ready to focus on that.  “Yeah, you’re sure.”
Annabeth squeezed his hand again, then let go before continuing to weave her way down through Olympus towards the elevator, making mental notes about various buildings as she did so, even while her fingers were still tingling from Percy’s hand in hers.
***
More unfortunately, they still didn’t get a chance to talk, even once Percy rejoined her at the elevator, smelling strangely like smoke.  Once they reached the lobby, his mom and Paul were waiting for them, then Nico ran in to tell them that Rachel had absconded with Blackjack, and all of that took precedence.  On the plus side, when Apollo appeared at Camp Half-Blood to anoint his new oracle, he didn’t seem to remember that Percy and Annabeth had run away from him on Olympus.
The rest of the day was hectic as campers returned from the city and both the wounded and the dead needed to be attended to.
Finally, though, as dinner approached, things began to calm down.  An idea came to Annabeth and her tired brain ground back into action.  After all, as she’d told Percy years ago, Athena always had a plan.
“Hey, Tyson, can you help me with something?”

He didn’t see her walk in. Why would he be hoping to spot her gray eyes in this crowd like Annabeth was hoping to meet his green ones.
Annabeth wasn’t even sure he would even want to see her.
Before she left, she confessed everything to her roommates.
Their movie night had just ended. Thalia was yawning and Leo was complaining that it was too early for her to go to bed. It was the weekend after all.
“I’m going to Santa Cruz,” she blurted.
“Excuse me?”
“What!” Leo exclaimed.
“I booked a flight before dinner.”
Thalia blinked at her. “I’m wide awake now. What the fuck, Chase?”
Annabeth swallowed. “I need to see Percy.”
“Why?” Leo asked.
“We’ve been sorta hooking up for the last few months.”
“What!” Thalia screamed. “And you didn’t think to tell me!”
“Us,” Leo corrected.
Thalia ignored him. “Me! Your best friend.”
“I—”
She cut Annabeth off, “I can’t believe this. I mean we talked about it but ultimately dismissed it because you were never affectionate around us. But maybe I should’ve seen it still.”
“You talked about it?” Annabeth questioned. “With who?”
“Piper, Jason, Grover,” Leo listed. “We all thought you’d hit it off eventually and apparently we were right.”
“Yet completely blinded to it having happened!” Thalia shouted.
“So tell us what’s going on,” she said, “why are you going to Santa Cruz?”
“I really hurt him the last time I saw him. I messed it all up.”
Annabeth told them everything. The hookups, their non-dates, the song, her graduation day, the fight, him leaving.
“I’ll help you pack,” Thalia said.
Just like that, she was forgiven for keeping this from her best friend.
“Hey wait a second,” Leo said, “we’re just gonna let this go?”
Thalia glared at him. “Yes, because I expect to be the maid of honor at the wedding.”
Annabeth blushed.
“And what do I get out of it?” He asked, “I want details! How’s the sex? It’s good right? I feel like…”
“Ew, why do you want to know what Percy's like in bed?”
Annabeth’s cheeks got redder. “No comment.”
“Oooo, so it’s juicy then. C'mon tell me!” Leo demanded.
She shook her head. Thalia pulled her to her bedroom, grabbing her suitcase and throwing it on the bed.
Leo, of course, followed.
“Seriously, Annabeth, just tell me…how big?”
He started moving his hands apart. Waiting for her to indicate when to stop. She never did. But her face must’ve revealed something because Leo knew exactly when to stop.
“Knew it! You want to talk to someone about this. How could you keep all these dirty secrets from me?”
Thalia was haphazardly opening Annabeth's drawers.
“Where do you keep the good stuff?” She asked.
“I don’t know what that means.”
“Sexy stuff,” Leo said, “probably in her closet, hiding in the corner somewhere.”
Both girls look up at him.
“What? Annabeth likes to keep that stuff to herself. Obviously it’s not going to be out in the open.”
Thalia went into the closet and found exactly what she was looking for. Meanwhile, Leo sat down on the bed with Annabeth.
“So spill it.”
Annabeth knew he wasn’t going to let it go. She glanced over at Thalia who was now throwing clothes into her luggage.
“It’s great sex,” she told him.
“Well duh!” Leo said.
“He makes me feel so safe, so…loved. He’s sweet and responsive and…”
“Fucks like a god?” Leo offered.
She punched him.
“You’re not saying I’m wrong.”
They even drove her to the airport. Wished her luck at drop off and made her swear to call them when it was all cleared up.
Their faith in her was overwhelming.
Luckily Delphi’s gig wasn’t sold out because Annabeth hadn’t thought to buy a ticket beforehand. She booked a flight and a hotel room but every Delphi show she’d been to was at a bar, no ticket required. She only felt a little stupid for not thinking this far ahead. It was an official tour after all, of course she needed a ticket.
She paid cash and went in. They were already on stage introducing a new song. One Percy and Piper wrote together recently.
Which meant there was a good chance it was about her.
The songs I wrote as your other are The best I’ll ever sing
She stood by the bar well after the show ended. The crowd was thinning and people were being ushered out. Annabeth wondered if she should take her chances at sneaking backstage or waiting by the stage door for them like the rest of their fans.
Not thrilled by the idea of being mistaken for a potential groupie, Annabeth chose the other option.
There wasn’t too much security. She went around the left side of the stage hopping over some metal chain. That’s all that was preventing people from going back there.
The stage crew was bustling around. Wearing all black, she tried to blend in with them. Her tight, sparkly black dress wasn’t really the outfit for moving instruments and laying out wires but no one spared her a second glance.
There were some familiar voices up ahead.
“Stage door time!” Jason shouted, “get dressed and let’s go.”
“You two go, give me a second,” Percy said.
Annabeth shivered. Just hearing his voice was enough to send her body into shock.
She was a goner.
Annabeth hid behind an open door when Piper and Jason walked out of the room. They were heading outside. Leaving Percy alone.
When she peeked inside the room, Percy had yet to change out of his stage clothes. The door was wide open so she knocked on it. This was it.
He turned. “Annabeth?”
“Hey, Percy.”
“What are you doing here?” He asked.
His eyebrows furrowed.
Percy didn’t seem upset, just confused. Might as well just jump straight into it.
“I was wrong,” she said.
“About what?”
“You,” Annabeth’s voice squeaked. “I was wrong about you.”
“What you thought I’d break your heart and instead you ripped mine out of my chest?”
So maybe he was upset with her.
“I…”
He stood up.
“So you’re wrong, about what exactly?”
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have eavesdropped on you or I should’ve admitted that I overheard you talking about the tour, I had no right to get mad at you for something out of your control. You were going to tell me and I shouldn’t have…well I should’ve done a lot differently,” she said, “I should’ve told you how I felt, I shouldn’t have hid it for so long, I shouldn’t have let myself become self-destructive like I always do…”
Percy was standing directly in front of her now. He put his hands on her shoulders; she couldn’t look at him. Funny how earlier she would’ve given anything to have him look at her and now she couldn’t meet his gaze.
“Annabeth,” Percy said. “Look at me.”
She did.
“I accept your apology.”
The relief she felt almost made her collapse. But Percy was holding her up.
“Thank you,” she said, throwing her arms around him.
She breathed him in. She promised herself to make this right.
“Come with me, we should have a real conversation about us,” he told her.
Annabeth fought the urge to grab his hand as they walked towards the beach. They snuck out a different exit and avoided the fans outside. She wondered if Delphi was big enough for the fans to speculate why Percy skipped the stage door.
Unsurprisingly the beach was abandoned. The tide was coming in but there was still plenty of dry sand to sit in.
It was chilly, Annabeth rubbed her arms.
“Here,” Percy handed over his flannel.
She smiled, “thanks.”
“You wanted to talk,” she said, “about this…us.”
Percy took a deep breath. “Let’s make some plans.”
“Permanent ones?” She asked.
“Yeah, you said you would do things differently, so how should we do this differently?”
“Well, for starters” Annabeth said, “I’d take you on an actual date.”
“Oh yeah?” Percy said, “and what if I want to take you out instead?”
She was blushing. Even in the dim light, he could see her reddening cheeks.
“A is date first on the agenda, we can argue in front of the waiter about who pays.”
“Deal, what’s next?”
She grabbed his hand, “communication. That was our downfall, I didn’t tell you how I felt, I avoided conversations that scared me, and I kept things to myself because I was asking for this to fail because I was terrified of you.”
“As much as I want to know about these feelings of yours, trust me we’ll get to that,” Percy told her, “why did I terrify you so much? Am I that scary?”
Annabeth sighed, “might as well get the heavy stuff out in the open huh? Didn’t help to keep it in last time. I had some bad exes before you.”
“Haven’t we all?”
“I guess so,” she said, staring at the waves, “Travis was just a troublemaker, my bad boy phase as Thals would say but really he was just slightly klepto so he got me into some bad spots when I was in high school then I met Luke. First red flag should’ve been how he pursued me when I was still sixteen, just weeks after breaking things off with Travis. Luke had recently graduated from my school so we knew each other. He came to my debates, to football games, and even tried to get me to invite him to junior prom. I let him pursue me, I think I just liked the attention. No one else was interested in me.”
Percy squeezed her hand.
“We finally went on a date of sorts, he called it a friend’s date, to the movies. Sat in the back,” her voice was growing quieter as the story went on. “He…”
“You don’t have to tell me.”
“He just felt me up but for so long I felt dirty. Used. The only reason he spent time with me was because…”
“He was a creep who should be behind bars?” Percy offered.
Annabeth nodded.
“You’re so much stronger than I thought, which is really saying something because I already thought you could judo flip me no problem.”
She laughed.
“Annabeth, I promise we’ll have better communication this time. We can come up with a safe word for when we want to just have a no-judgment conversation.”
“Like what?”
“Riptide,” he suggested.
“Because the safe word will prevent us from being pulled underwater? Prevent drowning and if we let the riptide pull us out to sea we’ll be safe?”
“Ummm yes, definitely that and not because it’s the first word I thought of.”
Annabeth laughed, “Seaweed Brain.”
Percy had to stop her laughter, if only because it made him want to make her laugh more and not because he was embarrassed to be laughed at. With Annabeth, Percy would do a million stupid things just to hear her chuckle.
“Alright enough, tell me about these feelings you have for me.”
She wiped her tears away and settled herself.
“I could fall in love with you, Percy Jackson.”
“Well good,” he said, “because I could fall in love with you, Annabeth Chase.”
“So, a date, open communication, and falling in love,” Annabeth listed, “sounds like a decent plan to me.”
Percy turned toward hers and cupped her face, he murmured against her lips, “sounds like a perfect plan to me,” and then he kissed her.

If the Reader was Sick
Percy Jackson: -Percy would surprisingly be a pretty good boyfriend when you're sick. He would be at your side, watching you 24/7 and will do anything to keep you from getting worse. You want water? He's already got a glass. You want to sleep? He'll cuddle you all night. You want food? He's asking Annabeth how to cook. This man is not letting you go without any of your needs or wants. -Not going to lie, he's not perfect though. He does have some medical experience with wounds, but he's not Will. He can be a little clueless when it comes to how to take care of you. So chances are he would make you go to the infirmary for daily checkups. -Percy is also really likely to get sick with you because of how much you two are around each other. The moment you finally get better, a few days later your boyfriend is in bed with the same symptoms. -And last but not least, if Percy were on a quest and he found out you were sick, his quest group would have to remind him to stay calm and they will see you before they know it. And as soon as he gets back to camp, the entire process of him attempting to take care of you would start all over again.
Annabeth Chase: -Annabeth would immediately start coming up with a plan to get you better as soon as possible. She would make sure you visit Will in the infirmary every day, get lots of sleep, drink water and eat, and make sure you take your medicine. And if you let her help you, you'll be better in no time. -Like Percy, she would still have her eye on you. Like she would most likely spend time in your cabin reading while you rest so she can make sure nothing bad happens. However, she won't be nearly as suffocating. Sure, she can get worried from time to time and will want to be around you, but she is well aware that sick people do need space to rest. -She would also talk to Will, Kayla, Austin or any of the Apollo kids really. She would be asking for advice on how to make sure you're in less pain and are able to heal faster. She would also allow them to use their healing powers on you while you sleep so that way you can get better. -Once you're better, Annabeth would want to snuggle up with you while she reads a good book and enjoys your presence. She would never admit it, but she would've missed your touch while you were sick. And the fact that she didn't want to bother you or get sick herself is the only reason why she didn't cuddle you during that time. So afterwards, expect lots of hugs and kisses.
Jason Grace: -I can see Jason being a lot like Annabeth in this situation. He would want to take care of you but would still try to be rational about it. Afterall, he can't take care of you were both sick. The main difference between Jason and Annabeth though, is that he would not rely on healers to help you and would just take care of you himself. -Jason most likely has some skills within the medical field because of how many times he has had to take care of himself. So he would be far from clueless on what he's doing. He may not be able to give you medicine or anything, but he does make sure you get natural sunlight, eat healthy, get a good amount of water, stay active while still getting rest and whatnot. -Days that you are resting and just chilling in bed, Jason would pull up a chair and tell you stories about all of the amazing quests he's gotten to go on or what it was like when he was a praetor. And you guys also would have a good laugh over some of the stuff Octavian has said or done. -When you are fully healthy, Jason will mostly be relived. But he will also have a sense of pride and accomplishment because he had successfully taken care of you. Overall, he's just glad you're ok and would try to get back to you guys' normal lives as soon as possible.
Piper McLean: -Piper would be very unsure of what to do when she finds out your sick. However, she isn't completely clueless, so she knows to bring you to the infirmary. If anything, she would probably be a lot more comfortable knowing you're in the hands of the Apollo kids rather than her own. She wouldn't want to risk making it worse. -While you are resting up in the infirmary, Piper would come visit you every day with a gift. She would bring you flowers she picked or strawberries from the field. Or she may bring you something she made at the arts and crafts center. If she sees even the smallest thing that reminds you of her, count on Piper to gift it to you while you feel unwell. -Speaking of Piper visiting you, she would tell you all about the drama you're missing out on. Piper would tell you about Drew's "tantrums" and the most recent way Leo has tried to blow himself up. If she gets a smile or laugh out of you, she will consider that a win because she was able to take your mind off of the pain. And trust me, this girl will sit there talking to you until the Apollo kids have to kick her out of the infirmary to give you space. -Once you're fully healed and better, Piper's half-siblings already have a date set up for you two to go on. Usually, Piper doesn't like it when her cabinmates interfere with her love life, but she would allow this exception. Afterall, you guys have to make up for all the time you haven't spent together while you were ill.
Leo Valdez: -Let's be honest, this boy should not be anywhere around you when you're sick. If anything, he would look at you and be like "You're sick? So what? I still want to go rock climbing." or say something along those lines. Poor man wouldn't get the hint until he sees you crying in bed about how much pain you're in. -Once Leo realizes, he doesn't know what to do and panics. It's only when Piper asks Leo what's wrong when you get actual help. Piper ends up taking you to the infirmary and Leo tries to do something in there to help only to end up getting banned for the rest of the time you're sick. -Leo would try to find different ways to sneak in to see you. But he just ends up getting caught every time. And it eventually gets to the point when they have to have someone standing at the door all the time, so Leo won't get in and accidently burn the place down. And you do miss him, but it's understandable onto why they would do this. -As soon as your better and free to leave, Leo is clinging onto your side and following you everywhere you go like a puppy of some sort. He would want to do every activity you do for maybe the next week or week in a half before he finally goes back to normal. He's sweet, but moral of the story... Please for the love of gods, don't let Leo take care of you or you may end up getting worse.
Hazel Levesque: -Hazel is pretty much the same as Jason when you're sick. She would make sure to take care of you and would know exactly what to do. If she weren't so busy all the time, I would say she's one of the better demigods to take care of you despite being the daughter of Pluto. -Back to what I said about Hazel being busy, she is a praetor. So naturally, she has duties she needs to attend to. And trust me, she would much rather be at your side instead of dealing whatever problem they are dealing with at that moment. But I promise you as soon as she's done, she comes back like she never even left. -When Hazel does get back, she goes right back to before and takes care of you. She doesn't tell you about any of her work though because she's scared that she might stress you out. She thinks that it would be better to just wait to talk about drama when you're healthy again rather than bothering you when you need rest. -As soon as you're healthy again, that's when Hazel catches you up on everything that's happened. She would also make sure you get back to your everyday life as soon as possible. So overall, Hazel is a pretty good lover when you're sick. She's just busy, that's all.
Frank Zhang: -When Frank finds out that you're sick, he is a mix of sweet and worried. He would do whatever he could to help you but would also reach out to others who have more experience than him. Frank puts all of his needs and wants aside and you become his number 1 priority. -Like Hazel, Frank is also a praetor, so he knows that he has to be focused on that. But whenever you're sick, his mind just seems to wonder off of the task at hand. When Hazel sees this, she ends up giving Frank a little break so he isn't too stressed out and can pay attention to you. Frank ends up feeling bad about leaving Hazel alone, but at least now he can make sure you're properly getting taken care of. -If you ever get suspicious onto why Frank is with you and not doing his work, he just tells you that he's taking a break. The last thing he wants to do is make you feel bad that he had to leave to make sure you were ok. But you're glad that Frank is there with you. He is a really sweet guy and is easy to talk to. -Once your better, Frank will go back to doing his praetor duties and will make time so the two of you could have a movie night or something like that. He may also turn into a small animal like a bunny and cuddle up to you at night. Just hope he doesn't accidently turn into something like a shark or bear.
Nico di Angelo: -Nico's first reaction would be shocked. When the two of you got into a relationship, he never once considered something like this would happen. Poor boy would avoid you at all costs because he thinks he would just make it worse because he's the son of Hades. -But don't worry, Nico wouldn't leave you completely helpless. H would make sure you're in the hands of Will because he is convinced that he is the best healer, and he trusts him more than the other Apollo kids. Nico absolutely refuses to let anyone treat you. It has to be Will. -Nico would also give little notes to Will so that way he could still communicate with you. Poor Will ends up getting stuck as the messenger boy. But the way Nico acts when you're sick is actually kind of funny. -Nico really isn't big on PDA or really any touch in general. But as soon as your better, he might interlock his pinky or even hand with yours from time to time. And when the two of you are in private, he will give you hugs and occasionally kisses. If you ever told anyone though, he would straight up deny it and would probably never do it again. So here's my advice, keep it a little thing just between you two.
Will Solace: -Hands down best demigod boyfriend to have when you're sick. As soon as he finds out you even have the smallest headache, he already had you in the infirmary and is doing his best to make you feel better. and sometimes he spends so much time trying to help you that Kayla and Austin have to remind him that there are other patients and they can also help heal you. -Even though Will wouldn't mind if Kayla, Austin or any of his other half-siblings were to heal you, he would still rather it be him. That way not only he can make sure you're getting the proper care, he can spend time with you also. -And when I tell you this man doesn't have a single bad bone in his body, I mean it. He is able to help you and others at the same time. Plus, he never fails to bring a smile to your face, even if you are in pain. -As soon as Will fully heals you, which doesn't take long, he lets Kayla or Austin takeover his shift for the rest of the day and spends time with you. Even if you are healthy again, this man has his eye on you to make sure you don't get sick again. And with Will around, you won't be getting sick anytime soon.
Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano: -Everyone thinks that Reyna would be cool and collected if their lover ever got sick and needed help. And on the outside, she may seem that way... But that's not the case at all. Better start hoping you have some medical experience because she may be even worse than Leo. -Reyna would actually try to help you but simply just wouldn't know how. She has treated wounds before, and she's taken care of herself while she's sick. But she has never had to take care of someone she cares so much about when they are sick instead of injured. -Not knowing what to do, she would probably reach out to Nico. And like I said before, he wouldn't be much help either. You might have to end up going to someone else for help because dear gods, poor Reyna has no idea what she's doing. -As soon as you're healed, Reyna will feel so relieved that all of this is over. But at the same time, she would feel really guilty because she wasn't able to help you like at all. So, she makes it up to you with date nights and going to do stuff you enjoy.

ideas for my tattoo artist vax and florist keyleth au they turned into a wider modern au… thing
-- Vex and Vax have opened a tattoo shop in the city for less than six months. Vax does more ornate patterns, floral designs, objects and blackwork, etc whereas Vex is very good at animals (and cuteness.) vax has a fairly realistic raven on his chest that Vex did for him.
-- Keyleth wanders in one day wanting her first tattoo: of a clock to represent her friend Percy. By the day of the booked session Percy has told her not to do that, so she gets a flower instead.
— Keyleth invites Vax to get a ‘friends and family’ discount at the florist. The classic ‘tell my father fuck you’ bouquet is discussed but Vax decides he isn’t worth it. He decides on bouquets for his mothers grave and to treat his sister to bouquets.
— he stops by a lot. Vex starts begging Vax that she doesn’t like bouquets of flowers this much, holy shit stop filling their flat with flowers Vax.
— But Vax likes the excuse to see Keyleth. And when he’s there they start planning more tattoos for Keyleth, maybe an ornate floral cherry blossom back piece
-- Vax likes Keyleth fairly quickly. He thinks she's charming and beautiful. However because Keyleth wanted to get a tattoo for Percy Vax think she’s trying to get his attention and that she likes him. Keyleth doesn’t, she just wanted a tattoo and thought a Percy tattoo was a good thing to get as they’ve been friends since university (or something) and it’s his birthday soon.
— Keyleth invites the twins to her DnD game she has with the rest of VM so they all become intertwined with each other. I think Taryon would be both a terrible and an amazing DM so he’s the DM.
—They meet Percy who runs the watch and clock shop and some of Vax’s reservations fade away after they get to know him. Like him turning down Keyleth getting a tattoo for him was less about him disliking tattoos and more about him not wanting Keyleth going through pain for him and disliking needles due to hospital trauma. So he isn’t that stuck up, or at least he isn’t judging as the twins first assume.
— Meanwhile Keyleth is tough as nails and barely flinches when she gets a tattoo. Percy needn’t worry. Eventually she gets that clock tattoo when he realises that.
— Eventually things work out and they both confess, not before Keyleth tells Vax off for not actually listening to her describe Percy as a friend. Vax agrees he is dumb.
— and I think Percy could get comfortable enough with the twins to eventually request a tiny little flower tattoo to represent Keyleth from Vex. They also start getting along very well.

you (hit me with a broom and) set my heart ablaze
Title: you (hit me with a broom and) set my heart ablaze (chapter 7)
Pairing: Jason Grace/Percy Jackson
Length: 9.7k words
You can also read this on AO3.
∘◦ ☆ ◦∘
It might have been the unfortunate consequence of dating a seventh-year, but Jason’s love life hadn’t really seen much change from his life as a single man. Every day witnessed almost the same routines, except it also involved just a bit more kissing and holding hands and touching Percy as much as he could, what with all the constraints imposed on them both as N.E.W.T.s students.
Much to his chagrin and dismay, he couldn’t really see Percy as much as regular boyfriends could. Half the term had now passed for the school year, and in consequence, both of them—moreso his boyfriend—had been understandably swept up in revisions and Quidditch practices and a troll swamp of homeworks and assignments for most of their waking hours.
While he’d still have the start of his seventh year come September, he dared not to ponder the uncertainty of their shared future once June came to an end—with it Percy’s life as a Hogwarts student. They’d write letters over the summer for sure, maybe Floo each other every once in a while, then he’d be focusing entirely on passing his N.E.W.T.s with flying colours and counting the days until he'd finally graduate as a full-fledged wizard… without Percy by his side.
It’s very unfortunate, and daunting to boot, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t be making the most out of the time they had left. Waiting for a year should be easy enough; he'd always prided himself to be a patient man. If Percy could take more than five years to work out the courage to ask him out, then what was one year for him, really? And as a reputable multi-tasker, he could be an exemplary student and a wonderful boyfriend at the same time. Merlin knows they both needed him to, because when it comes to Percy, everything would be worth it.
He arrived at one of their study sessions a bit later than planned one day, after being held up by Quidditch training for quite a bit. He rushed to the library as soon as he washed up and changed, his steps light and springy in anticipation of meeting his lovely boyfriend after a very long day. The library was jam-packed with seventh-years huddling together in groups, heads poring over books and quills scratching on parchments in diligence.
Leo and Piper didn’t join at the time, as they'd claimed—in a rather dramatic fashion—that they could only study so much before their heads would explode.
“Go ahead, Jason. We don’t exactly have the motivation to study seventh-year stuff a whole year in advance,” Piper had said when he’d invited them to join him.
He'd rolled his eyes at her exaggeration—it'd be less than seven months until they'd begin the seventh-year curriculum, so an early start couldn't be anything but beneficial. He'd be doing his own work anyway, only helping Percy with whatever help he'd need for sixth-year revision if time allowed it.
“Yeah, what’s the rush, mate? We’d only just survived O.W.L.s! I think we should leave the stuff for next year… next year,” Leo had added. “Besides, we got sick of watching you make heart eyes at Percy all the while anyway, so just go and have your fun, okay?”
“We've already sold you away for some cookies too, so… enjoy yourself!” Piper had finished, biting into an oddly familiar-looking blue cookie before they both sent him on his way with dismissive waves of their hands.
He's a bit perplexed that he’d been bought over with food, but seeing how unaffected his friends were, he figured they’d be alright with him prioritising his boyfriend.
Percy was already settled in with Annabeth and their Gryffindor classmate Rachel Elizabeth Dare around their usual table, balancing a quill on the tip of his nose in apparent boredom as the latter two engaged in a particularly animated (albeit hushed) discussion. Her attention on Rachel unshifting, Annabeth whacked him with a copy of Advanced Defence Against the Dark Arts just as Jason approached the group.
“Ow! I am listening—Jason, you’re here!” Percy exclaimed, his annoyance at Annabeth disappearing into thin air as soon he saw Jason.
“Hi, guys. Sorry I’m a bit late."
"We're just about to start," Annabeth assured him. "Piper's not coming?"
He bit back a knowing smirk at the slightly crestfallen look on her face. Piper would definitely be ecstatic (and regretful) to know that the Head Girl had been missing her presence.
"She's lacking motivation at the moment, but don't worry!” he reassured her. “I'll tell her you've been looking for her; not even Voldemort can stop her from coming next time. Oh…”
There’s a distinct lack of free chairs at their table, he realised. He eyed his surroundings in case there were some vacant ones lying around at the other tables, but to no avail. Preparations for N.E.W.T.s were definitely in full-swing now, even though it's only halfway through February.
“I reserved a seat just for you here, babe,” Percy grinned, patting on his lap. His brazen invitation prompted a snicker from Rachel and a dirty look from Annabeth, before the latter conjured a chair out of thin air with a simple wave of her wand.
Indignant that she’s foiling his plans to become a chair, Percy glared at her before lobbing a wad of used parchment her way. She flicked it away with another wave of her wand, straight into his face.
"Oi!"
"Shhh!" hissed Madam Pince from wherever she was prowling around the vicinity.
“Let them live a little, Annie,” Rachel whispered, nudging the Head Girl good-naturedly.
“Seriously, Rachel? Don’t encourage them,” Annabeth whispered back. “Nobody needs to see such uncouth behaviour in the middle of the library, especially when I would be sitting next to it!”
Jason sank down onto the chair with a silent “Thanks, Annabeth” before retrieving books and stationeries out of his bag. The chair felt really comfortable and well-adjusted, and just the right size for a person of his stature; a testament to her magical talent.
“Oh, you prude, what's the harm in him sitting on me?” Percy questioned grumpily, as if being seen with a lapful of one's boyfriend was perfectly acceptable in the establishment they're currently at.
“Do you even hear yourself?" Annabeth hissed to him. "Where do you think that’d lead to?”
Never the one to back down, Percy looked like he's about to throw another comeback her way, risking the librarian's wrath in the meanwhile. His argument died in his throat however, when Jason laced their fingers together under the table and squeezed his hand comfortingly. As he regarded their linked hands with surprise, a dopey smile made its way on his face.
Jason couldn’t believe how precious it made him. His boyfriend was never one to hesitate touching him casually as much as he could before they got together, but with the added context that they’re now boyfriends, every single instance of Jason initiating things would always render him speechless in astonishment.
Like he still couldn’t believe that Jason had reciprocated his feelings. Like Jason was his dream came true, and he was still a little dazed at the knowledge. When instances like this happened, Jason would be filled with determination to prove to him that this sweet, wonderful connection they now shared was an indubitable reality.
“Aaand we lost them,” Rachel remarked. Or was it Annabeth? Jason couldn’t be sure, now that he found himself all but lost in Percy’s half-lidded eyes.
Not keen on having their study session derailed by two idiots in love, someone—who most definitely had to be Annabeth—coughed loudly. They both broke out of their trance together at the sound, guilelessly grinning all the while as they tried not to stare into each other’s eyes again.
“As I was saying, we need to start practising advanced DADA spells soon. There will be practical tests, and we should decide which spell we’d focus on to impress the examiners,” Annabeth explained once she got all of their attention.
“I was thinking maybe the Patronus Charm? There are easier spells, sure, but the kids in Dumbledore's Army were able to produce actual corporeal ones back during the war,” Rachel suggested. “Annie thought it’s a little overkill though, since we’re not living in an era where prominent Dark wizards terrorise the public and control Dementors to do their bidding.”
“Eh, I think that’s a brilliant idea,” Percy piped up with a shrug. He mindlessly played with Jason’s hand under the table as he spoke; rubbing over his thumb, massaging his knuckles, tracing the lines of his palm. Goosebumps prickled at where his skin was touched. “First thing to always remember about the Dark Arts is you’d more often than not encounter them when you’re least prepared against them. It wouldn’t hurt to have more countermeasures at your disposal, and you can never count out the possibility of coming across a stray Dementor. Plus, if I’m ever going to put my mind to mastering an advanced spell, I’d rather it be something worth spending so much time on.”
Jason thought he couldn’t be more in love with Percy the longer he spent time with him, but he was proven wrong time and time again. Playful, whimsical Percy was charming on his own, with that lopsided mischievous grin Jason couldn’t get enough of. Serious, sensible Percy was in an entirely different league, however, and Jason was painfully made aware of how hot his skin felt when those green eyes darkened in intensity, as if containing a seastorm within.
“You… sound exactly like an Auror, Percy,” he said, trying to suppress his admiration from showing too much in his voice lest he grossed out the others. “My sister, who works as one, would’ve agreed with you a hundred percent. She’d always drilled into my head the importance of excelling in the hardest of spells in DADA to make sure that you never run out of options."
Thalia’s words to him when she sat him down to listen to one of her Auror talks were as clear as day: "Dark threats are always lingering at the edges of an unsuspecting community, biding the right time to strike when people are mellowed out by the fragile peace. Remember this always; you can never be too prepared.”
“Aw, look at you two,” Rachel cooed. "My Inner Eye sees both of you being an experienced Auror couple in the future, battle-hardened and ready to kick some arse.”
“Nice try, Dare,” Annabeth snapped impatiently. Notwithstanding Rachel's reputation as a credible Seer, Jason had noticed Annabeth's dislike towards Divination, and was inclined to concur; he's a staunch believer that people should have their fate planned out by their own hands, not in some tea dregs at the bottom of a cup. “Percy wants to play with horses, and I assume Jason would go pro in Quidditch," she continued dismissively. "Anyways, I’m not opposed to the Patronus; it’d be helpful to score an easy O if we manage to pull it off. So, Patronus Charm it is?”
“Aye-aye, ma’am,” Percy and Rachel chorused. Jason wondered if they’d let him join their practice sessions, even though he had a vague feeling that Percy would want him in regardless. As if he's secretly a Legilimens, Percy asked him with an imploring gaze, “You’ll join me, won’t you?”
He smiled. There’s no way he couldn’t say no to that. “You don’t even have to ask.”
“Yay! But only if you’re free, alright? Wouldn’t want to impose stuff on you like a pushy, possessive boyfriend.”
Oh, but Jason would love to be acquainted with a possessive Percy, though? “Of course. Wouldn’t want to make it seem like you can’t live without me either.”
Percy snorted, scrunching his nose adorably. “Maybe I really can’t.”
Annabeth coughed loudly for the second time that evening. Just as he’s about to shift his focus towards the discussion again, Percy apparently had some other ideas. Without much ceremony, he stood up and announced: “I need to go to the loo.”
“It hasn’t been 5 minutes!” Annabeth looked affronted, despite totally knowing this was coming.
“Sorry, Wise Girl, my bladder’s about to burst. Jason, wanna come with?”
“He’s definitely not going too!”
Her protest fell to deaf ears. Not even waiting for Jason’s answer, Percy grabbed his arm to pull him out of his chair before dragging him away. As they turned around a bookshelf, he could hear Rachel noting in amusement: “Well, you gotta admire their audacity to use the same excuse every time.”
Of course, going to the loo was all but a ruse to find some time to snog.
Percy led him to a secluded nook of the library near the Restricted Section, where there were notably less people around. Since the Section itself was unsettling enough to be made a place for studying, not a single soul was to be found occupying its confines. They ducked into one of the spaces between the tall bookshelves there—their usual haunt for some quick canoodling.
“God, Jason,” Percy wasted no time to hold him close, hooking his hands together behind Jason’s waist in a tight embrace. “I missed you so much.”
“We just met each other at lunch, sweetheart,” Jason teased him, relishing the way Percy buried his face further at the term of endearment, his nose digging deeper into the crook between Jason’s neck and shoulder.
“That's like a thousand years ago. I wanna see you all the time. I wanna stick together with you until you’re sick of me,” Percy whined, his breath warm against Jason’s skin, his soft lips brushing against his neck and leaving goosebumps in the wake of their touch. “Not that it matters, since I’d never let you go anyway.”
As a boyfriend, Percy’s affection was so addicting. Like Jason had his first taste of godly nectar, it quickly became something he couldn’t live without. The way Percy was so sweet a lover, so eager to voice his desire for him, so determined to make him feel like he’s the only man for him; each and every gesture he made to convey his feelings sent a shiver down Jason’s spine and a thousand butterflies fluttering in his stomach.
“I’ve been dying to see you too, Percy,” he sighed into Percy’s hair, rubbing his hand in circles in between his boyfriend’s shoulder blades. The pace of Percy’s heartbeat quickened under his palm; a most precious, wonderful sensation that kick-started his own.
It would’ve been so perfect to stay just like this, in a sweet embrace with his lover that had become his very own safe space, until their time together ran its course that evening.
But alas, his lips were already tingling from want.
Percy leaned back to grin at him, in a way that caused the corner of his eyes to crinkle and the dip of his dimples to deepen, like Jason was the highlight of his day, the apple of his eye, before closing the distance between them with a sweet kiss. They'd always start with a chaste pressing of their mouths together; just enjoying the shape of their lips plush against each other’s, just savouring the moment of closeness for a second or two. Then, either Percy or him would take the first step of their usual tango, taking it upon themselves to set the pace each time, before they’d kiss like their lives depended on it.
Percy liked to use his tongue, as Jason had learnt quite intimately for the past two weeks.
He was shy during the first few times, only running his tongue against Jason’s lips in reluctance like he was a sweet for sampling. Jason, silly and inexperienced as he was back then, never took it as a hint for Percy wanting to enter his mouth. Only after they'd learnt to let go of their reservations—in a few exchanges of hushed voices expressing their needs and wants and their do’s and don'ts—did he know of Percy’s desire and grant his assent.
It opened a floodgate he barely had time to prepare lifeboats for. Quite the unreserved licker, Percy was very good at unravelling Jason’s entire being with just a few expert flicks and twists of his tongue. Jason made sure to brace himself when his mouth was all but invaded when Percy took the lead, pushing his own tongue to catch up to the dance.
Whereas Percy had claimed Jason tasted like mint—courtesy of the peppermint humbugs he’d secretly swallowed before kissing—he could taste the salty tang of seawater in Percy’s mouth, doubtful that it’s the work of any kind of candy. Percy's natural taste was not an unpleasant flavour; he would go as far as describing it as succulent. For some magical reason, his boyfriend would always taste like he had just emerged from a dip in the ocean.
“It’s the Dead Sea amount of salt within me,” Percy had joked once, after needlessly reassuring him that he’d made sure to brush his teeth before coming to see him.
On the other hand, Jason discovered that he liked to use his teeth on Percy.
Maybe it’s a remnant of his childish belief that he was a wolf pup for the first five years of his life—courtesy of Lupa going out of her way to accommodate his childhood fantasies when he was under her care—that he found himself to be quite the enthusiastic biter. He loved the feeling of Percy’s lips between his teeth, how plump his mouth felt when Jason would bite and suck on his lips. He enjoyed grazing his teeth against Percy’s throat, taking pleasure at the shudder he received in return. He adored the redness blooming in the wake of his nipping and nibbling, leaving Percy delightfully breathless when he pulled away, like he’d been bracing himself to be devoured the whole while.
They slowly learnt to match the other’s pace. Jason would always lick in return, and Percy would interweave his own pecks and bites in between his too. Their kissing had become very much like a study session of their own, except it involved body parts instead of books and parchments, and Jason was seated to learn more.
“Hey, baby,” Percy muttered after pulling back from kissing him senseless, and Jason had to pull himself down from the high to focus on his next words. Percy’s hands were hot against his bare skin when he’d sneaked them underneath his jumper to caress his waist and abs, and it’s hard to pry his mind off from where Percy’s palms were setting his skin on fire. “Y’know what day is tomorrow?”
Jason couldn’t make himself part away from Percy’s lips for long, chasing after them and mumbling against his wet mouth in reply: “… Sunday? Hogsmeade outing?”
“Valentine’s," Percy answered with a contented sigh, before ducking down to bury his face in Jason's neck again, peppering kisses along the line of his clavicle before soundly breathing in at the point where Jason's two collarbones meet. His stomach fluttered with desire as he felt the flat of Percy’s tongue licking a stripe up the curve of his throat, silently hoping he’d do more, like sinking his teeth in. He cradled Percy's nape and angled his head to allow him more access, shuddering as Percy obliged and unravelled his entire being thread by metaphorical thread.
Merlin, why did this feel so much like heaven?
"Jason, why do you always smell so fucking good? I can’t get enough."
"Valentine's?" Jason belatedly asked in reply. He couldn't even keep up with the pace of their conversation anymore now that his brain had already turned into putty. There must be something dangerous laced in Percy's kisses that'd left such an effect on him. Something sinisterly powerful and alluring. Somebody needs to conduct an academic study on it, see if they can find an antidote to counter it, because what if Percy decides to use that power indiscriminately? He'd have his way with everything, and Jason would be (and had already become) his first helpless victim.
"Yeah…" Percy, realising that Jason had all been out of it for some time now, leaned back to look into his eyes with a stupefied smile. He cupped Jason's cheeks with both hands and squeezed them fondly, trying to pierce through the haze of intoxication clouding his mind. "Wow, I really drive you crazy, huh?"
The smugness in his tone was so endearingly irritating, it instantly snapped Jason out of his trance and punched a surprised laughter out of himself.
"You've only just realised? I've gone positively insane because of you.”
"Well, don't go too crazy just yet. Someone needs to be sane enough in this relationship, and I'm already beyond saving," Percy quipped cheerfully. "Anyway, tomorrow's Valentine's, and I wonder if…"
Jason could already hear the incoming invitation before it was uttered, his mouth automatically blurting out an over-enthusiastic "Yes!" just as Percy finished his sentence with: "… you’d like to go on a date with me?"
They burst into silent laughter together.
"Nice! The only correct response, with the perfect amount of enthusiasm I’m looking for. 10 points to Gryffindor!"
"Why thank you, Professor Jackson, sir."
Percy suddenly stilled, fixing Jason with a heated gaze.
"… Seriously, Jason, don't ever call me that again. It's awakening something indecent within me, and you don't want to know what it is."
A new kink, perhaps? Jason just smiled at the thought, happy he'd even awakened something new in Percy at all; a welcomed change from his own moments of self-awakening Percy had triggered so many times before.
With a slight giggle, he innocently supplied a scenario—that'd probably just played in his boyfriend's mind—in a conspiratorial whisper to his ear: "Professor Perseus Jackson, Care of Magical Creatures expert, who wouldn't only give extra points to his favourite student Jason Grace in a severe case of teacher bias, but also love to inflict inappropriate physical punishments on the poor boy that would risk him getting fired from Hogwarts."
"… Bloody hell, Jason. Who corrupted you?"
"Rachel showed me her collection of Muggle adult novels."
"Figures. I saw some of those too, though they’re too nasty for my taste. Well, hold that naughty thought of yours for a bit, alright? We have a very important date tomorrow, and I need you to focus."
“Noted… Professor.”
Groaning, Percy shut him up with a kiss.
The rest of their snogging session went down with intermittent pauses for a light discussion about the logistics of their very first actual date tomorrow; like what to wear (warm and comfy), what to bring (themselves and food; gifts are optional) and where to go (Percy’s secret spot near the Black Lake). Percy—with his ever so curiously charming way of pretending to be serious—stressed that attendance is compulsory, failure of which will result in a very harsh punishment (no kissing for one whole day, something that seemed very cruel and impossible for both of them).
Then, it was more kissing and whispering sweet nothings against each other’s lips for a few more minutes that felt terribly short, their movements gradually turning erratic in their haste to feel the other's everything while they still could. They kissed and kissed like they’re running out of time, until the twinge of guilt and the ominous sensation of fear turned their guts inside out, before they decided to return to their actual study session lest a very enraged Head Girl fetch them herself.
Though it spelt having to cut short their moments of privacy every time, Jason would rather they return on their own volition instead of the other around, because you see: he’d like to live to see another day, thank you very much. He had a very important date tomorrow, after all, and he’s not about to miss it for anything.

Percy didn’t really believe in the reputation of Divination as a credible branch of magic, even though he belonged in a secret society of funny people waving their funny little sticks to perform funny extraordinary things. Annabeth had certainly rubbed off on him in that regard, showing her disdain towards the discipline whenever she could with very logical counterarguments, often enough that Percy was inclined to believe her.
Be that as it may, he couldn’t find any fault in the logic that Jason and him together was simply… astronomical. Ordained by the stars. Approved by fate.
He’d never felt so right about something before; this wonderful thing he had with Jason. The way everything just clicked into place when they got together, as if it was predestined to do so in the first place.
Dried leaves crunched softly underneath their shoes as they ambled their way alongside the shores of the Lake hand in hand. The morning air was fresh and crisp, accompanied with the wonderful scent of nature surrounding them, enough to lighten up the already pleasant mood. Next to Percy, Jason was a delightful presence, emanating a kind of sweetness that he could somehow taste at the tip of his tongue. He reckoned if he leaned in for a kiss now, his boyfriend's lips would taste as sugary as the treats in the rucksack he's carrying.
They’d decided to forgo breakfast at the Great Hall in favour of their Valentine’s date, which entailed having a private picnic while nature-gazing by the lakeside, thus the trek to the Lake in the wee hours of the day.
“Oh, wow… I've never known there’s a spot like this before,” Jason said, his voice alight with wonder.
Percy grinned, pleased at his reaction. “Pretty cosy, right?”
"Yeah. Very lovely," Jason sighed, smiling his cute little smile.
His secret spot was located in the denser part of the woods adjacent to the Lake—a little clearing surrounded by shrubberies in an almost perfect circle, the lush greens dotted with pretty flowers of pink, purple and blue. The ground was uncharacteristically flat given the surrounding geography; perfect for lying down or sitting in respite. Towering pine trees formed an almost impenetrable wall around them, casting shadows that provide a cool shade from the sun. At one side of the clearing, the bushes and trees made way to provide a spectacular view of the Lake itself, making the spot an ideal place for sight-seeing. Percy was quite pleased to have discovered this spot during one of his secret excursions to escape the stressful life of a student, and was equally marvelled to know nobody else had bothered to claim it for themselves so far.
“I’d come here to just… be, sometimes,” he told Jason. “Take the time for myself to just exist without anything else weighing on my shoulders. It’d always do wonders to my mood.”
Jason met his eyes, a mystified smile on his lips. “Thanks for showing me this place, Percy.”
“Of course. You’re the only one I’m willing to share it with,” he playfully gloated, throwing an enthusiastic grin back. “Oh, and if we're lucky, we can also see the giant squid.” While he had enough shares of his sightings of the gentle beast given the location of his dorm, he wagered Jason would also be captivated to see its tentacle breaching the surface of the Lake every once in a while.
As they made their way to the centre of the clearing, Jason engorged what appeared to be a napkin into a large chequered blanket to put all of their picnic essentials on it. They took off their shoes and made themselves comfortable, never really cared to maintain a semblance of distance between them as they sat as close as possible on the fluffy cloth. Plopping down onto his bum and pulling Jason with him, Percy took a few seconds just to breathe in his boyfriend’s overall presence next to him; dressed so cosily in a navy jumper, grey trousers and cyan socks patterned with moving cats frolicking and playing with balls of yarn. Subtly pressing his nose against Jason’s shoulder, he found his scent sweet like vanilla, and suddenly felt very much less interested to eat the food they’ve brought, and much more interested in the walking full course meal next to him.
He began, “Sooo… how is your first date with me so far?”
“We’re barely starting, darling. Ask me again in an hour or so,” Jason chided, amused. With a deft twirl of his wrist, he then extracted the food out of the basket to set them neatly in plates and bowls, ready for their enjoyment.
“Sorry, nerves,” Percy replied cheerily, before noticing the unending stream of food coming out of Jason’s basket. “Oh, I was sort of expecting a lighter kind of meal… Isn’t this a little overkill, babe?” he asked as he unpacked his own rucksack filled with Sally Blofis' bestselling treats, observing the hearty dishes placed before them consisting of steaming lasagna, buttered croissants, mushroom soup with croutons, pancakes drizzled in syrup and swirling creams, and an obscene amount of desserts like cauldron cakes and treacle tarts. He doubted he could finish even a quarter of each of them before his stomach would bloat.
Jason looked unfazed as he finished setting things up by making the Butterbeer pour itself into two glass tankards. “Is it? I only asked for a meal for two, and they insisted that this is the least we should bring.”
“The elves did?” As Jason nodded, he then inquired, “Remind me why they’re letting you bring food outside again?”
“I just asked if we could have breakfast by the Lake and they said yes. I thought they’d always say yes if you ask nicely enough?”
They really wouldn’t, as far as Percy remembered. He shook his head in reply, and Jason commented, “I guess they’re quite agreeable towards me in particular, since I often drop by the kitchens for a late night snack after doing my rounds.”
“Ah… the Golden Boy effect.”
Jason made a silly face in silent objection. “I still have no idea why people call me that.”
“It fits you, though. Partially because you're a blondie, mostly because you’re so admirable, Jason. So well-liked wherever you go.” Percy paused, before remarking seriously, "I’m the one who likes you the most, by the way.”
And there it was, that rosy tint on Jason’s skin that seemed to make him glow. Percy wanted to kiss it. Then he remembered he could, because Jason was his bona fide not-just-in-his-dreams-anymore boyfriend, looking all sorts of beautiful leaning against his shoulder, and he thus did; just a gentle peck on his flushed cheek.
Hands full from shovelling the lasagna into generous portions on his plate, Jason tried tucking his chin in an adorable attempt to hide his face. “That nickname is so overrated and completely off the mark. I have loads of people not liking me. Did you forget Nakamura? He’s definitely not my biggest fan.”
Oh, that git. “That prick doesn’t count.”
“Why not? And don’t be so mean to say he’s not a person.”
“Darn it.”
Jason timidly shoved a forkful of lasagna against his lips, a silent request to feed him. He obliged happily and took a bite, cheese stringing from steel to his lips as Jason pulled away. It was extra scrumptious, probably because it’s from Jason’s loving hand.
Love… what a silly, wonderful concept. Crazy how it made even the most mundane things better.
“While we’re on the subject of likeability…” Jason trailed off, pointedly staring at the plate as he dug his fork into it again, “I’ve never told you this, but I genuinely thought you disliked me before we became friends.”
“… What? Why?!” Aghast, he quickly wracked his brain to find if he’d ever mistreated Jason in some prick-ish, mindless way before, but failed to come up with anything. Did he do something so terrible that Jason could ever entertain such an incredulous notion in his pretty head? He really hoped he didn’t, or else the Lake looked like quite the suitable place to jump into his watery death.
Jason took the opportunity to shove another forkful into Percy’s gaping mouth, effectively shutting him up from trying to explain himself. “Relax, I discovered that it wasn’t the case when you asked to become my friend. Prior to that though, I just thought you didn’t like me because you were always glaring in my direction.”
Oh.
He chewed his food in a hurry, grimacing as he forced himself to gulp the still too warm morsel down his throat. “I-I wasn’t glaring! I was staring, like the lovesick idiot I was, because you’re so… distractingly cute!” Slightly breathless from relief, he grumbled to himself, “And there I was thinking I was being discreet. How embarrassing.”
Jason managed to collect himself quickly enough at the admission, a curious smile blooming in place of his initial gawping. “You had a rather peculiar way of staring at me, then. All frowny and fidgety, like you’d rather have me out of your sight.”
“I swear to Merlin, baby, I was actually praying to Merlin, Circe and even freaking Dumbledore for you to talk to me.”
Jason brought the fork to his own mouth, red sauce staining the corner of his lips as he took a bite, and Percy thought rather excitedly: Fuck yes, indirect kiss. “I’m very, very introverted, Percy,” he explained as he chewed. “I’m rarely the first to approach people. That’s why you’d only see me with Piper and Leo most of the time, since they’re the ones who’d decided to claim me as one of their own since first year.” He paused, before playfully reproaching him, pointing accusingly at him with the fork: “Why didn’t you talk to me first?”
“I told you I was shy! I had a big fat crush on you without realising it at the time and didn’t wanna make a fool of myself because I’d find myself tongue-tied whenever I tried to talk to you. And you were intimidating as hell. If you hadn’t hit me and then apologised so cutely, I would’ve still found you very unapproachable.”
Looking back, Jason was exactly that in his memories; a thing of beauty he’d thought to be unattainable. If the boy wasn’t being flanked by his two best mates, he’d be attached to the hip with Reyna, whose stare was deadlier than a basilisk's. Like a treasure always guarded, always out of reach.
Unwittingly, Percy’s mind started to recount the years he’d known Jason ever since he’d first seen him during the Start-of-Term Feast in his second year.
During his first three years in school, he’d been rather bad at making friends himself; only sticking to his own Slytherin cliques in addition to his best friends Annabeth, a fussy no-nonsense Ravenclaw who’d deemed him worthy to be taken under her wing, and Grover, a Hufflepuff who’d once helped a lost first-year Percy find his way around the castle (of which he was so grateful for, he’d follow the older boy around like a duckling).
Fourth year was the year of the Staring; where he’d been a mess of himself at the peak of his puberty, dealing with both external and internal changes that had rendered him a blubbering mess whenever Jason entered his peripheral vision (because why was this bloke so pretty? And when did he get so tall?). He’d thought he’d rather keep his distance, for fear his voice would’ve cracked if he’d ever taken the risk.
Fifth year was the year of O.W.L.s. Annabeth had practically lost her marbles all year throughout and dragged him along in her misplaced urgency to ace the exams, making the library their second dorm for intense study sessions. That year, he'd considered himself lucky enough if he even got a glimpse of Jason at all.
Sixth year was rather a quiet year. He’d grown confident in his own skin, established himself as the Slytherin sweetheart, and thought maybe he’d finally do it. He’d start a conversation with Jason, and ultimately befriend him.
Frustratingly, he still hadn’t been able to, for Jason had also grown into a fine young man himself, carrying himself with an air of regality unlike any other—an almost untouchable young god. He’d been made a Prefect and placed impossible expectations unto him by the Professors, and was also rather an over-achiever himself; docking points for the littlest of things and carrying books to study for his O.W.L.s almost everywhere.
And so Percy had then thought: maybe it wasn’t the time yet. He’d reassured himself to think that it wasn’t right to burden Jason with his company when the boy barely had time for himself.
Seventh year was the year everything was truly set into motion. Fate took pity on him, the Quidditch Incident happened, and Jason finally became his.
“Aside from falsely accusing me of disliking you— nom, ” Percy found himself asking as Jason fed him another forkful (with complete disregard that he’s currently speaking, the little rascal), “was there any other favourable impression you had of me before?”
Jason’s eyebrows did the cute little furrow they do whenever he ruminated on something as he considered Percy’s question, his bottom lip unconsciously sticking out (and begging for a kiss).
“Hm… Well, aside from thinking you disliked me, yes,” he chuckled as Percy stuck his tongue out, “I guess I saw you as having a rather peculiarly sunny disposition? Popular. Loud. A good-looking bloke with a face that could get himself out of trouble as easily as he gets into it. The boisterous type that clicks with everyone—well, everyone except me. Thinking back, that's rather pitiful of me, isn't it?”
“Agh!” Percy groaned as Jason laughed out loud at his own tiny jab. However lighthearted their conversation was, he still couldn’t help having an inkling of the grave undertones lying beneath. He threw him another question that felt more interrogative than he preferred: “So, since you've never bothered to approach me… was I someone you couldn’t imagine being friends with?”
“Rather than not being able to imagine that… it’s more like I felt rather inadequate to be your friend at all?” Jason said quietly, and Percy tightened his grip around his waist when the cadence of his tone took a downward lilt.
“You’re rather larger than life, Percy. Far be it from me to say I’ve never noticed you because I did. I really did. I don’t think there’s a single soul in school that doesn’t know who Percy Jackson is. In fact, I don’t think there’s a student who never takes the time to wonder even once what it’s like to be one of his friends—myself included.”
He realised Jason was discreetly avoiding his eyes, when he noticed how he’d glance quickly at him before his eyes flitted away and back to staring at his plate.
“On the other hand,” Jason continued, “I’m rather boring in comparison. And a bit of a pushover—you could see how I shouldered all those responsibilities without much complaint. I used to dread the day when Piper and Leo would finally get rid of me because they’re very interesting people who crave interesting things in life. Thankfully, they never did. And one of the initial worries that I had when we first became friends was wondering how quick it'd take for you to chuck me away once you realise how utterly dull I am. Thankfully, you’re the one who’s rather persistent until we get together.”
“Alright, alright.” He didn’t expect his questions would put a damper on the mood, and that just wouldn’t do. “Put that plate down. C’mon, we’re going for a walk.”
They stood up, Percy pulling Jason up with him, and casted several protective charms and wards onto their picnic spot to fend off unwanted passersby. He kept a steady grip on Jason’s hand in the meanwhile, leading him out of the secret spot and into the open air surrounding the Lake.
Perhaps because it’s Valentine’s Day—its spirit spreading in the form of love permeating the air all around the castle and its grounds—or maybe it’s the sense of tranquillity washing over his soul at the knowledge of his beloved standing right by his side, but he’d never felt so glad to be alive that moment. The morning was radiant in its atmosphere, the sunlight slanting just right to bounce off the glittery surface of the Lake and casting a warm glow enveloping Jason like a halo of his own.
Percy couldn't help but think: Yeah. He's definitely the one.
He turned to his boyfriend to admire that radiant countenance of his for the nth time that morning. At the sight of him and his golden skin lovingly kissed by the sun, he feigned a gasp and exclaimed truthfully, sincerely, incredulously: “Merlin’s pants, what’s an angel doing here?”
It was the kind of soppy that’s worth being hit with a jinx or two—his brain could always count itself to cook up the most blasé of pickup lines to use unironically, and Annabeth would certainly hit him upside the head if he ever dared to try that with her as a joke—but being rewarded by Jason’s surprised incredulous laugh was worth it and more. He grinned as Jason pushed his shoulder playfully before wrapping him in a side hug as they continued walking, proud of his silly quip that dispelled the little frown that had been miring Jason’s face.
“I’m not even going to respond to that,” Jason couldn’t even hide the pleasure in his voice if he tried. “That was beyond cringey even for my standards, and I rather like to think of myself as a hopeless romantic.”
“But I’m telling you the truth! Where did you come from and why have you decided to grace me with your noble presence?”
“Ha-ha, you even snuck in a Grace joke there, how ingenious,” Jason shot back dryly. “Percy, stop. I’m very flattered, but to be called an angel is just a bit too much.”
“But you are one,” Percy insisted rather stubbornly. He never pulled any punches when it came to showering his loved ones with affection, however silly it might sound. “And angels aren’t boring or dull, by any means!”
Jason paused and glanced at him quizzically, a smile tugging at the side of his lips. “… Is this your very own weird way of cheering me up after my unintentional display of doom and gloom?”
“No idea. I only see an angel, and he’s the most stunning thing I've ever seen." He turned his body fully to face Jason, walking backwards to lead the way, unconcerned of the danger of stumbling over rocks or twigs because he knew Jason would catch him anyway. "Hey, sweet angel. You single?"
A giggle slipped past Jason’s lips as he played along. "I have a boyfriend, sorry."
"Where’s the twat? I shall fight him for your hand."
"Oh, really? I'm afraid I'm rather protective of him, so you'd have to go through me first."
Merlin, Percy wanted to kiss him again. "Bring it on, then! Under one condition, though: we can only use our lips. Alright, you get the first hit."
"This is utterly ridiculous," Jason groaned, despite leaning in to plant a kiss on his lips, and another one for good measure because he obviously couldn’t contain himself. “You’re utterly ridiculous.”
His boyfriend must’ve miscalculated the timing of his pace then, his legs tangling up with Percy’s and sending them hurtling down onto the soft, pebbled soil. Despite failing to catch him after all, Jason somehow managed to cushion their landing by wrapping his arms around Percy and cradling his head from a direct collision against the ground. Percy’s nostrils were then thoroughly overwhelmed with the intermingling scents of aromatic vanilla and the calming draught that was Jason’s natural one; something that reminded him of the electric quality of thunderstorms. Despite their little predicament, he couldn’t help but grin in amusement at the rather wayward road their date had been treading on.
“Hello,” he greeted in a strain under Jason’s admittedly heavy weight. Sturdy boy. “You’re quite eager for a cuddle today, aren’t you? Literally falling over yourself for it.”
Sighing in resignation, Jason lifted himself off him and set both of them upright. He fussily reached for his wand to cast a cleansing charm over their soiled clothes. “You told me to fight you with my lips. Now you know better than to ask that—while walking backwards no less.”
It’s fun, though. “On the contrary, I don’t think I’ve learnt my lesson.”
“Of course you haven’t.”
“Y’know,” he said as he took an inconspicuous sniff at Jason’s neck. “Boring people certainly don’t alternate different body washes to use every single day.”
Jason chanced a curious glance at him, eyebrows raised in surprise. “You’ve noticed that?”
“You smell like peaches on Mondays and Thursdays. Strawberries on Tuesdays and Fridays. Vanilla on Wednesdays and the weekends.” A beat. “Sorry, is it creepy for me to know your body wash schedule?”
“… I’m more amazed than creeped out, honestly. And mildly wondering if you’re secretly a dog.”
Jason stood up and extended his hand, easily pulling Percy up with him to resume their walk. Their conversation flowed naturally from there on, exchanging quips and flirtatious words to make the other blush harder, and Percy was proud to know that he’s winning the game. Then, their hearty exchanges ebbed to a much comfortable pace, taking the time to discover new things about the other that didn’t really come up in casual talk. He made sure to save and compartmentalise each and every detail of Jason in the shelves of his memories for later; ready to be brought up any time Jason fell into unintentional self-deprecation.
That day, Percy learnt of the boy whose body had specific timings of getting hungry, prompting him to look for food at the most inopportune of moments like his midnight excursions to the kitchens. The boy who preferred soft sweet scents to strong masculine ones; changing his soap and shampoo almost everyday to ‘spice things up’. The boy who looked like he could kill you with a stare, but in reality wouldn’t hurt even a bug if he could help it. The boy who could keep up with Percy's banter for as long as he could, when others would've sooner told Percy to shut up.
The boy with honey-sweet lips and sky blue eyes, who’d grabbed hold of Percy’s heart and refused to let go, even after almost six years had passed.
Perhaps his vision had all been clouded by the rose-tinted glasses he’d unconsciously worn every time he looked his boyfriend’s way—not that it mattered anyway—but Jason was the most interesting boy he’d ever known.
“You’re always so hard on yourself,” he gently chided, long after they'd doubled back and were now hastily approaching their picnic spot. In a hilariously perfect timing, Jason’s tummy had made a petulant rumble just before, unamused from being deprived of a much-needed breakfast.
The soft, private smile that had adorned Jason’s lips fell into a more wistful one as he sighed, blue eyes distantly looking towards the far mountains. “Hm.” And he decided to just leave it at that.
They stopped just before the edge of their untouched picnic spot, promptly undoing all of the charms placed before. Percy took a seat and without another word, collected Jason into his arms and let him lean against him, holding him close to his chest. His boyfriend hummed appreciatively, melting into a puddle of goo as he began carding his fingers through the blond hair and scratching softly at his nape.
“Sometimes I stew in my negative thoughts too much and accidentally let some of them out,” Jason belatedly admitted, burying his face deeper into Percy’s neck.
“You know you don’t have to hold back, right? I’m always here to help you sort them out. One by one, for as long as you like.”
“Now who’s the actual angel?” Jason quipped, and Percy could feel his soft smile blossoming against his clavicle. His voice took a serious tone after, as he continued on, “I’m so happy these days. More than I’ve ever felt in all my time at Hogwarts. I never want to stop feeling like this, but there’s always that nagging voice at the back of my head, demanding and questioning me if I’ve ever deserved it; how a boy as wondrous and enigmatic as you can ever have a valid reason to like someone like me—the prude Mister Prefect, as Leo likes to say.”
“Well, for me, I’ve always wondered how a boy so sensible and perfect can ever return my feelings too,” Percy countered, his fingers lightly grazing the skin of Jason’s cheek before pinching it fondly. “Your hair’s gonna grey before you turn 18 from thinking so hard about this, angel. I—”
He bit his tongue in an effort to stop himself from saying ‘I love you’. It worked, though just barely. No matter how many times his mind had broken off into a mantra of those three sacred words every time he saw Jason, he believed it’s still too early. He’s not about to burden Jason with the weight of his feelings just yet.
“… I’ve liked you ever since I was 12, and the feeling’s never changed even after all these years. In fact, it became stronger after I finally got to know you better.” His arms tightened around Jason’s body, the desire to protect welling up in his chest. He'd fight Jason’s negative thoughts physically if he could. “And Merlin knows how much I wanna learn even more, until nobody else in this world knows you better than I do.”
“You’re getting there,” Jason replied shyly. Gently setting Percy’s arms aside to sit up and face him, he reached up to cradle Percy’s face in his hands. His palms were warm and soft to the touch. “And me you, Percy. I still can’t seem to make heads or tails of this wonderful mind inside of your head.”
“Pick apart my brain all you want, baby. I’m sure Pomfrey can lend us a scalpel if we ask nicely—”
Jason’s tummy let out a particularly aggressive rumble, almost as loud as the Hogwarts Express.
“Okay, okay! We’re eating,” he grumbled and smacked Jason’s stomach lightly, prompting sweet laughter out of those pink lips.
And so their date went on swimmingly afterwards, going through each dish while they revelled in the beautiful sight of the Lake before them. At one point, they managed to catch sight of one of the giant squid’s tentacles cresting the surface as if sending them a tiny friendly wave. Despite knowing it wouldn’t be able to see, they waved back in excitement all the same.
“What do you make of Rachel’s… ‘predictions’ yesterday?” Jason asked as he casted a warming charm on the lasagna, before proceeding to continue his insistent bout of feeding Percy.
“My team losing against Hufflepuff’s? Fat chance of that happening.”
“Er, the other one—of us becoming an Auror couple in the distant future, kicking some bad wizards’ arses as she put it.”
Ah. He belatedly realised he’d failed to mention beforehand that becoming an Auror had been his backup plan all along. It didn’t feel significant enough to be brought up previously. “I do take the required N.E.W.T.s for M.L.E., in addition to Herbology, Astronomy and Creature Care. I thought you’re set on going pro, though?”
“I am, but I do wonder what I’m gonna do once I inevitably retire. I figure I’d be swimming in Galleons by then, but I’m not the type to sit still for long. Becoming an Auror… sounds nice.”
“Yeah?” Percy smiled, wondering if this could be a prospective solution to their previous dilemma at the Astronomy Tower. A chance to share each and every day of his life with Jason someday, even if it’s in the far future, when they’ve exhausted the whimsical ambitions of their youths and settle down for good to open a new chapter in their lives together. “Maybe when I get sick of ‘playing with horses’, I’d like to try that, too.”
“Then, my possible-future-Auror partner, I look forward to when that day comes,” Jason announced, holding out a companionable hand. Percy took it eagerly in a firm handshake, returning Jason’s smile with a toothy grin of his own.
For his first Valentine’s date—and his very first actual date overall—it’s hadn't been bad at all; an auspicious sign for more wonderful ones to come. True to his prediction, he only managed to eat at most a quarter of each dish while Jason demolished the rest without breaking a sweat. He poked playfully at Jason's slightly protruding stomach when they’re done, marvelled at the bottomless void within.
They exchanged Valentine’s gifts afterwards, despite both reassuring the other just the day before that they didn't have to. He gave Jason the finest batch of his mum’s Valentine’s chocolates—heart-shaped confectioneries in a myriad of colours and assorted flavours (“Mum made sure you’ve got all the flavours you’d like.” “I’m gonna get diabetes from how sweet this is, Percy! Please send her my love.”).
After apologising profusely for his gift that he’d thought to be lacking in comparison to Percy's, Jason got him the cutest pair of socks Percy had ever seen in his life. They were teal-coloured, decorated with animated prints of tiny seals balancing a ball on their snouts or clapping their fins together, occasionally swimming around the fabric to embrace each other snout-to-snout ("Oh my god , Jason, these are so cute I'm dying. I’m gonna wear them everyday.” “That’s terribly unhygienic, Percy. Not to mention cruel for those poor things to endure your smelly feet.” “Oi!”).
Just like all good days in Percy’s life, this one had to end so soon, uncaring of their reluctance to separate and return to their respective dorms. They’d already opted to skip lunch just to have more time with each other, content to lie down and cuddle in peaceful silence when the words had exhausted themselves and every dish was safely ingested within their tummies. But sooner than they’d care to know, the sun sank lower towards the horizon to welcome the moon and stars, and the night creatures began to make their presence known with a miscellany of eerie calls, and Percy knew better than to dawdle around and let Jason out in the cold and be inflicted with pangs of hunger for dinner.
He shook Jason’s shoulders gently to rouse him from his light nap, smiling as he managed to elicit a soft disgruntled moan from his boyfriend at being made to wake up. Jason's frown melted into a dopey grin when he kissed the wrinkle between his pale eyebrows. They untangled their limbs from each other’s embrace, packed everything up to leave the clearing the way it was before they came, and walked hand in hand up the winding pathway towards the castle.
“We should do this again sometimes,” he drawled in an attempt to sound casual, just when they’ve reached the Entrance Hall where they’d each go their own way to their respective tables.
“Of course, Percy.”
“As soon as we can.”
The curve of Jason’s smile as he kissed him was ever so prominent against his own lips. “As soon and as much as we can.”
Percy agreed wholeheartedly, if only because he’d noticed the sombre tone taking over Jason’s voice. And only then did he realise that their time together in Hogwarts was fast approaching its end, before next year inevitably separated them both for quite some time. The painful way his heart had ached at the thought was almost blindsiding, but something as insignificant could never be able to slow him down. He’d just love Jason to his fullest capabilities until then, and right after too, until the very end.
Late February witnessed Ravenclaw’s crushing defeat at the hands of Gryffindor.
They might have had a sizeable chance if their opponent wasn’t Jason. They might have had a smaller chance, but a chance nonetheless, if they didn’t try to actively slow him down. Unluckily for them, Jason was the best flyer known to the school in years, and trying to contain him from what he’s born to do was as futile as trying to stop the sun from shining on a cloudless day.
(Well, unless you’re a moon during a solar eclipse, but the Ravenclaw team was no moon, nor cloud, in the face of Jason’s brilliance).
Their fatal mistake had been their Seeker, Malcolm Pace, trying to outfly Jason from catching the Snitch—an endeavour proven fruitless unless you’re Percy, who had deployed a combination of incessant training and cunning technique to even best him at all. Their fate was sealed when they decided to place their faith on their Seeker to quickly end the game before the opponent Chasers could score enough to win, thus playing right into Gryffindor’s palm instead.
Percy sat with Piper and Rachel in the Gryffindor stands as the match took place, switching sides for once from supporting his best friend’s team in favour of his boyfriend. Annabeth was kind enough to not take it to heart, since she’d never really had much heart for Quidditch anyway. He’d charmed his scarf and robes to display red and gold instead of their usual green and silver, screaming himself hoarse when Jason executed a particularly dangerous feint to throw his opponent off or masterfully dodged a well-aimed Bludger to the face while pursuing the Snitch, cheering for his boyfriend alongside the rest of the Gryffindors like he’d been in the House all his life. He’d been so loud the girls had to shut him up at times, but he’d never really care to contain himself when it came to Jason.
When Jason grabbed the Snitch and held it out in the air for the entire pitch to see, it felt like he grabbed Percy’s heart just like he always did, time and time again. Effortlessly. Inevitably. When his frantic eyes immediately sought Percy’s as if to convey that the victory was dedicated for him, Percy almost jumped out of the platform as he waved wildly to catch his boyfriend’s attention. Unabashedly. Proudly. He then blew a kiss when their eyes met, and being the amazing Seeker he was, Jason effortlessly caught it with his free hand and pressed it to his own lips.
Lovingly. Preciously.

Hi! I'm Miyah (well not really, it's just a nickname) and I'm super excited to start this studyblr!
I'm currently in 10th grade but I struggle with procrastination and anxiety but that's been a lot better since I got diagnosed with and treated my ADHD earlier this year.
In all honesty I love looking at aesthetic notes and study tips since they not only help me deal with my anxiety but also help me overcome my procrastination, odd right? And of course this has lead me to the studyblr community!
I'm hoping to share some tips I have for studying and planning and see your guys awesome ideas too, god knows that I could use them.
So a little bit about me, aside from how I got here:
I'm absolutely in love reading YA fantasy, especially if it has dystopian themes and my top recs are Harry Potter, Circe, Percy Jackson and Carve The Mark. I would not survive without coffee and if I could I'm not at all eager to, I can't help it, I love the taste.
I adore physics and computers which naturally means that those are my favourite classes and I'm hoping to continue learning Python soon, as well as picking up playing piano again.
Though those goals are a bit further into the future since I'm currently working on my book, and you guessed it, it's a YA fantasy! I am ridiculously excited about it and yes I love writing and hope to publish my books one day.
I've been writing stories since I was 7, though not very consistently these last 2 years, and I've loved words since before I could say them. Check out my main blog, @theadhdravenclaw for stuff about writing and ofc feminism!
Some studyblrs I love:
@studyquill (the aesthetic and Hermione vibes? Yes please) @myhoneststudyblr @studylustre @learnelle @corirella
