like its the hadestown version of the myth bc 1. LOVE and 2. there’s something just so funny about like hermes moonlighting on broadway for a bit w a whole musical ab one of his favorite and heart felt tragedies

also the lyrics “maybe it will turn out this time” and all other ones along the lines of retelling it hoping it ends differently AND THEN IT ALL COMES BACK— LIKE THEY REALLY DO REINCARNATE and it (maybe) works out this time on the road to hell, on the rail road line

the banter between hermes and apollo about how maybe hermes is better at his job and they should switch (he basically wrote a whole award winning musical and starred in it for years and then in a weird way prophesied that the tragic lovers would return)

apollo is not pleased

aphrodite squealing in the corner bc it’s just such an outlandish time-transcending love story, heart break, and reunion

percy just over this bs bc why is this his life

eurydice hermes kid ? like hermes feels bad “she was a hungry young girl” and all that, he does his best to be a good father this time to heal the ancient trauma she has AS WELL as his own for failing luke all those years

orpheus apollo kid? he was a muses’ son after all, and that poor boy’s workin on a soooong

idk all this is subject to change (or it might not happen at all) bc as entertaining as it would be, a lot doesn’t make sense… like why would orpheus care and want to go on the quest bc he doesn’t even know eurydice yet AND where would the story go after the first book??

also the fact this would be oc x oc, i mean i love those stories, but idk how others feel about them

i also thought about au-ing in percy as a orpheus so the would already be friends and stuff… but then that doesn’t make sense bc of how blatant he is about being horrible at singing except when played by chris mccarell in the musical… mans can SING

Currently reading: OOOHHHH sooo many things. Although I've sorta committed myself to beta-ing so many projects, most of what I'm reading rn is what I'm editing.

The Long and Winding Road by @flutefemme -- A Twilight Princess AU where Zelda is running from her mob boss ex Ganon and finds a home with Link and his son. Very enemies to lovers. Very adorable. Except when Link is dealing with his widower grief -- then it's gutting.

A Lullaby for a Princess by @wouldyoustilllovemeifiwasawyrm -- Link and Zelda marry post!TotK after rapidly getting pregnant. There are a lot of really intense emotions in this piece and I love to see a bit of a darker look at post!Upheaval Hyrule. Link and Zelda each have my entire heart. They're such complicated people.

Two wonderful fics by @shameless-fujoshi. The Cage -- a Modern Zelink AU where Link is a cage fighter -- and Pride and Prejudice -- which has yet to arrive but is another very exciting modern AU. Firefighter!Link and Professor!Zelda.

And I'm nearly through A Couple of Trials by @kenlair -- which is part two of an incredibly ambitious story that aims at telling the story of post!BotW Zelink, eventually tracing it through ToTK, and relies heavily on elements that are already in game. No OC's -- every character and element has game/lore basis and it's really cool to see.

📄What’s a WIP you never finished that you would like to go back and revisit? augh not somebody reminding me of past sins xD I actually have a few, but none of them are Silm-based (yet....):

Two Worlds Split Apart - this was a doctor who AU, the premise being that when Amy and Rory were touched by the Angel at the end of their run, they got sent to Pete's World and had to find a way back home. I had it all plotted out, it was gonna be epic, but then unfortunately I really did not like the thirteenth doctor's run (it felt...a little soulless to me to be perfectly honest, or perhaps I just wasn't in the same place I was when I was watching the Moffat era and so the themes didn't speak to me as much? no hate to Jodie Whittaker or the rest of the cast, they were fantastic) and I kind of fell out of doctor who fandom. I'd still really like to finish this one someday, I think my outline remains in my notes app somewhere, but right now I just don't have the passion or the time for it. Maybe someday. Doctor Who did truly save my life in my teen years. also my god this was posted in 2019...im so old...

and whisper, "thank you for stopping by" - man 2019 really was my year for unfinished WIPs huh, my god. This was my one and only Hadestown fic, damn I loved that musical (and still do) and. wanted to write a story about Orpheus learning to move on, or at least to learn to cope. This one actually was abandoned not because I lost interest but because I found the second chapter near-impossible to write. It was supposed to be a fix-it in some sense, you see, but that...doesn't really fit with the cyclic nature of the story. Someday, I think, the second chapter will come to me - till then, like Eurydice, I'm waiting.

“Listen,” she says, frowning a tired sort of frown and meeting his eye. He feels small, despite standing several inches above her. “I don’t know, what there is between you and me, or what could be. And I don’t know what there is between me and him, either. But for just, one, stupid morning, I don’t wanna worry ‘bout it...didn’t wanna worry ‘bout any of that.” She purses her lips and pauses slightly, like she's choosing her words carefully. “Can we just...can we just, sit here, as two friends, please? And watch the sunrise? ...Nothing more, don’t need to be anything more...just--”

Hi anon! I would love to share my WIP list..... though I warn you it is long 😅 I have ADHD and I tend to have a hard time focusing on one idea for too long at a time. But I would also love to hear what people are most interested in and it can help me focus on specific projects 😊

I am going to group it by character in the order on my Masterlist but the order does not correspond to the order I am working on them. Also, not mentioned is about 20 requests I still have in my inbox that I have not forgotten about and am actively working on!

Batman/Batfam (generic/comic book version):

More parts of One Bad Day….. I have a one-shot about how Bruce and batmom met, and a one-shot set after chapter 3 where they discuss some of the more sensitive topics they avoided in the last chapter. I am also working on chapter 4.

More one-shots for Questions. I have at least three more planned, but I am open to more ideas if there is anything someone wants to see with these two.

A Dick Grayson x Reader songfic based on the musical Hadestown.

i have had some ✨thoughts✨ going through my head about what fics i want to start and i think ive got two planned:

A mary-centric oneshot about her after the war and her obliviating herself (name: the lingering trace of long-forgotten memories)

After that, I honestly want to write a hadestown au???? I’ve thought about what ships i think work best for the dynamics and I think ive decided. we’ll have jegulus for hades/persephone (i believe) and either pandalily or pandamary for orpheus/eurydice. i love pandalily sm and really want to write a fic for them, but pandamary has been sitting in my brain for so long and it fits the dynamic SO GOOD OH MY GODDD like pandora as orpheus and mary as eurydice? ugh i love ittttt.

i’d probably end up writing two fics in this like universe if i did end up doing that, one for pandamary/orpheus eurydice part and one for the jegulus/hades persephone part

if i get the motivation for this i’d so write it but its 100% possible that its gonna stay in the notes app stage forever unfortunately enough

hallo! :D i'm gonna send 8 in two separate asks and u two can divide them up however you'd like (sorry if that's too many askdfjaksf) - for this one, 1, 2, 7, 8

[ helloooo this is ashes here!! we've split it up so we each take one set of four and then nab questions we want from the others set too. this is also my second go at answering this because the first draft didn't save :'] ]

[ 1 ] Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

so i'm legally required to have several things cooking up at once /lh so I have a bunch of stuff on the backburners (very far back but in my defense it's exam season and i'm tired) such as a character/location study 5+1 things style (though im unsure if it is an actual 5+1 or just like. several segments with the same theme) on l'manhole, a desert duo 5+1 from grians pov (actually a 5+1 this time I swear) and a fic from when eret rescued michael whilst hannah george and sapnap played bedwars, due to a devastating (/pos) tiktok I saw, and a few other things! but they likely won't be my focus atm 😔☝️✨

my main project rn is the love of my life, my hadestown 3L (/LL/a touch of Empires ish) au!!! Jimmy is Orpheus. Scott is Eurydice. it's a tragedy. Cleo and Etho are Persephone and Hades and their relationship is a mess. aaaalllll that good stuff to come!! can't spoil too much. it's full of emotions, full of stuff I can't speak about tooooo much in case of spoilers but I've been working very hard on it!! the whole plan is written (though I keep adding more and more and more) and I've started writing chapter one! so it's very much in the works and I'M personally very much excited :]

[ 2 ] Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project

there's twists and metaphors in my hadestown au (gods above it needs a name) that i'm super excited for and trying very much not to spoil!! but im very excited for hadestown!lizzie in particular, and more cleo content is always good :]!! hadestown!cleo is very lovely to me she means the world To Me. but yeah i love a good extended metaphor or twist, the sort that makes me feel VERY INTELLIGENT for put it there; i've run all these particular ones past riser to make him go MMMMM so i hope that bodes well 👀

[ 7 ] What do you think are the characteristics of your personal writing style? Would others agree?

i would say personally that my works are all very emotionally driven!!! not necessarily on purpose but almost every work boils down to a feeling or handful of feelings at its core. hadestown au is about love, my c!eret michael rescue fic is about grief and redemption, and so on! I also love metaphors. just so much. many metaphors all the time this isn't flowery writing this is a whole botanical garden!!!

i asked a few people and yeah I'd say they agree. riser says im very smart (true and so based /lh)!! but seriously no riser says i sometimes have lines that just bang severely ( i.e this, circa blue christmas. — Ghostbur’s thoughts tumble from his mouth the same way smoke drifts off from him; curling and aimless. ) and that i clearly understand structure and am brilliantly linguistically etc etc, another friend said that my writing was "quiet in the best way possible" "mature ; me and my husband + its sigh" and very cathartic, which I think is all pretty cool!

[ 8 ] Is what you like to write the same as what you like to read?

right see- the answer here is yes and no? because i'd say yes in terms of dynamic/characters, if i really like a dynamic/character i'll seek out their content and im more likely to probably write them, although that's! not always true! i wouldn't say i read a lot of puffy and niki content, but i have them featured in my l'manhole 5+1 things (which is going to be called my little versailles btw, from sufjan steven's fourth of july. very good song very sad </3), and i don't think i've ever written 4/4 sbi and yet i read Rather A Lot Of It??

but also. I grew up on high fantasy, and I still love it, i crave nothing more than complicated aus in settings fresher than the first lamb of spring (SEE IT IS to t; passerine) but can I be arsed to plan that thoroughly myself? no! i am simply cramming it in my mouth as fast as i can. ALSO READ A LOT OF WINGFIC AND DONT WRITE IT but I gotta write more about winged characters... do I know anything about birds? no I just. I like them.

bonus thievin': [ 9 ] Are you more of a drabble or a longfic kind of writer? Pantser or plotter? Do you wish you were the other?

i'm definitely a drabbler! i've never finished a longfic... ever... started Many but never finished them as much as i want to, with one semi-notable exception that still only exists in 4 and a half notebooks and needs to be typed up. i'm more of a pantser in general (which i LOATHE i wish i was more planned out), i tend to try and strike while the inspiration iron is hot (and boy oh boy is it a quickly cooling thing), but i'm trying to plan more. i find 5+1's the easiest to plan for because its so neatly chunked down, fun fact!! and my hadestown au has a whole plan and im very very proud of said plan :] so hopefully that will break the mould of unfinished longfics!

12 for the writing ask?

12. Where do you commonly find inspiration for your stories?

This is very much an answer that every writer gives, but, everywhere? I collect pieces of derivative ideas and then one day they click together into my brain into something new. To go down the list of the last few things I wrote/am plotting.

Totem of Undying: I was sad about not being able to watch the new Leverage and thus I was thinking about Leverage a lot, and I was reading a lot of superpower fics and thinking about my favourite powers, and I was thinking about Technoblade stuck in the prison on the DSMP and what sort of situation would make him willingly go into an imprisonment possibly containing torture outside of the world of the server, and I saw a post about a heist on Las Nevadas, and I was thinking about coffee shop AUs, and then I sat up and went heist fic on las nevadas with inside man and superpowers.

Last Witness: Oh this one was spite and hubris. I was in a conversation about MCD and happy endings, and someone said you couldn't write a MCD happy ending, and I went "oh it would be EASY, I could do it", and then Wolfy was taunting people with angst on their blog with their Hadestown retelling, and I got overfamiliar and asked if they were cool with fixits, and then I stared at my hands and went "oh I just committed to giving a famous tragedy a happy ending what have I done". And then I had to try to write romance w. MCD.

Star Trek AU: To tell you every bit of inspiration would spoil some stuff but I got sad that all the Space AUs I was reading were following the same form and never going for fully automated luxury space communism (i.e. Star Trek), and then I went "bet I could write one that was fun" and then I was watching trek again to research. So this one was spite and hubris too.

Recipe AU: A post about why recipe blogs have to have that blurb at the beginning (it's for copyright protection) and a post about c!Tommy taking up hobbies as a sign of healing, and a post about gaining weight as a sign of healing, and the fact that apparently @7cxrhye and I spawn AUs off of each other's blogs, and suddenly I was looking up cursed recipes that I could make Tommy retell on his new cooking blog (it's poggers).

D&D AU: Okay this one was just punishment from god. I was literally complaining in a server about how I never get story Ideas and then I was struck with lightning from a clear blue sky with the idea of SBI as an epic-level adventuring party, letting me play with the themes of being OP and devotion to gods in those characters' lives. (I do not promise that this one is going to keep those themes to publication, if I even write any of these AUs, as mentioned above part of the impetuous for Totem of Undying was a coffee shop AU and god knows that's barely there now.)

idk if i’m actually going to attempt to participate but i still want to make a little list of Tober/Tember prompts and ideas of what to do with them. also tagging @f-ro-g bc New Pack. Every time i do one of these i start forgetting every media i’ve ever consumed so we’re going to see if i can at least get more than like three different fandoms on here. Might or might not come back through and flesh these out with actual details later on.

2) Talking is Overrated/Garotte/Choking/Gagged - I’m thinking a rewrite of my first Three Musketeers fic just because it was funny the first time around and also wouldn’t take much Effort. Next.

The Bradmadge Brawl of S2E1 but with passion and malice next question

Might go with something Leverage right here just because i just watched Leverage. Nothing’s jumping immediately to mind. Warm Bodies could also work though.

I’m thinking Reid just because Dr. and i’ve never been able to write Doctor Who so. What other Doctor characters are there. McStuffins isn’t in the running here. Oh! We could do something MCU, Bruce is a Doctor isn’t he? God can you imagine Dr. Hulk trying to
