Ok, I'm going to start off the month right. Here's where I'm at as of this morning. My goal is to exercise at least one hour each day. My weight goal is 180lbs by the end of the year.

Happy Nuther year!
2022 ended with a whimper rather than a bang. Our area got a years worth of snow in a week. This is Canada, but the warmest and mildest bit. Add in doing the holiday thing and Grandchildren and a bout of Flu I did not do much of anything in all of December.
The year ended with 4044 km. 4 years of the past 18 were less, and that is all I am going to say about that.
I burned roughly 92100 cal riding which works out to 26 lbs of fat. I just weighed myself and even with holiday meals and cheer I am still under 195 lbs.
OK that's done.
One thing the semi-forced idleness has done is knocked back my fitness. No surprise there. My resting heart rate is up. Over the summer it was the low 50s. Right now it is over 60. I will get that back if all goes well. Even so I am fitter and stronger than my 40 ish son-in-law. I really have to work on him.
One theory of training is if you take a full month off from high level training you can come back stronger. I do not know if that is legitimate or just motivational BS. There was a study on college students years ago.
Of course after the usual ads on TV and online for rich food and good times now the weight loss and fitness machines are front and center. Funny that.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are a change the ending” - C.S Lewis
Thought I would reintroduced myself since it’s been a VERY LONG time since I’ve used this platform and so much has changed…
Hi, my name is Christina. Many moons ago I used this space to help aid in my weight loss journey. With the support of the community here on Tumblr, I had managed to lose 100lbs and I maintain that lost for a over 10 years (give and take a few pounds).
Life update: I am a new mom, 15 months postpartum and I have been struggling with my snap back. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I lost myself so much in motherhood I ended up putting on more weight postpartum then did while pregnant. As I weight myself, I watched the numbers on the scale slowly creep up and yet I convinced myself that I can’t find the time or energy to do anything about it. Last time I stepped on the scale I weighted in 41 pounds heavier then I did after having my son… 55lbs heavy then my lowest weight yikes.
So here I am oversharing once again where I once considered my safe space. I plan to documenting my “snap back” journey here to help keep me accountable (something I have been lacking lately). Ideally I would like to build/find a community where we could all hold each other accountable but even nobody reads my post at least I have a place where I can share and reflect on my progress in the future.
Let’s do this!

Its been so long since I made a post here! Above you will see my lunch from yesterday, my most recent workout (plz ignore the scribble), and the first selfie since last March! I got my stimulus, so I decided to splurge and finally get my camera fixed. 🌸
I have been so crazy busy lately. Between job searching, interviews, and general adulting, I have had very little time for myself. Its already starting to pay of tho! I just landed a sweet part time job at a cute kitchenware store. When the peanuts I nanny for are back in school full time, I’m gonna need even more hours, so I’m still looking for more work. 😓 My goal is to save up as much as possible so that I can go to school to earn my massage therapy license this fall!
Tldr; I am busy, but doing well. I hope you are too!🎶

Had to happen.
Back on the hardwood again. Saturday was too windy, I mean a storm type wind, and there was the AGM for the bike club. So that day was shot. Sunday the wind had died, but the rain was epic so hell drag out the trainer. Time to man up to suffering.
I cannot get over the difference in experience. I know from the data that outside rides are actually harder. Inside there is nothing to distract you from the discomfort so that is all you have. I should have found out where my wife hid the fan. I was pouring with sweat. I had a towel and it got rather heavy. I only did an hour at 25 kph average.
I can see the use of Zwift and the like. Is it worth the distraction factor? Maybe. But I do not like subscriptions that say only so much per month, then charge you a whole year and are difficult to cancel. If the first month really was free I am tempted. My trainer is semi-stupid. It does broadcast power, but it does not do the fancy hill simulation. It will work with zwift.
So I dropped my FTP to 220 and ran through a HIIT session. Shit I suck at it. I still have a bit of my summer fitness, but hell. It always starts like this. I know I will get better.
In an aside I had to buy an adapter for the trainer for my new bike. It uses a Through-Axle. The trainer has a QR adapter. I found a generic adapter that has spacers and fittings to fit a QR with cone ends to the through axle rear. Works fine. Not cheap as it has maybe $5 worth of parts and costs $40. But needs must.
