Warnings: Angst, insecurity. Fluff. So much fluff.

Summary: your family change their Christmas plans last moment and now you’re left with no one for the holidays. On top of that your new boyfriend can’t be that into you, can he? And how will his friends react to you?

A/N: based on the prompt, I know it’s not exactly what you wanted but I figured it might be a few weeks before those insecurities raised their ugly head. Also self indulgent, I’m sorry to all the Donna’s out there. It’s nothing personal (except for one, she knows who she is lol)

You were nervous.

After three weeks of dating Bucky you were hanging out with friends for the first time together.

When it was just the two of you it had been glorious. Bucky was thoughtful, tender and so very sweet and he made you feel like you were the centre of his universe. He made you feel unique and treasured, but now, now the doubts were creeping in.

It all started when your family ditched you on Christmas.

You were supposed to be travelling home but your brother who was getting married next year had convinced your parents to spend Christmas with his fiancées family.

“We’ll fit you in someplace,” your mom had said on the weekly family video call. It was Saturday morning with a little over a week to go until the holidays.

“But there is no space,” Donna said with a shrug. “My parents are having a big celebration and the house will be packed. A lot of my family will be there.”

“Isn’t there a hotel a few miles down the road?” Your dad suggested.

“Good idea,” Donna said smugly.

“I have to go!”you suddenly cried. “Somethings happened it’s all hands on deck!”

“What could you possibly help with?” Donna scoffed and you ignored her wishing your family goodbye and closing your laptop.

You resisted the urge to cry but things went from bad to worse as the day wore on threatening to unleash the dam.

“I’m sorry Doll, I forgot about this Friendmas thing,” Bucky said. “We have to cook something for it too.”

“That’s okay,” you said and it was. You didn’t want to be that clingy girl but you were feeling so sorry for yourself and snuggling with Bucky felt like the perfect remedy to your internal ailments.

Bucky cocked his head to the side and examined your face carefully. “What’s wrong?”

You shook your head. “Nothing.” You smiled as bright as you could. Bucky made a noise and next thing you knew he had pulled you to your feet and wrapped his arms around you.

He was warm against your body, and his lips dragged against your neck. “Babygirl.”

You shook your head again. His fingers dragged up your hips to your waist and you buried your face into his chest.

“Do I gotta’ tickle it out huh?”

You giggled and pushed at his chest but it was like shoving a truck. He stood solid gazing down at you with warmth in his blue eyes.

“I’m just feeling a little blue,” you admitted hoping it was enough.

“Ready to tell me why?” He probed. You bit the inside of your cheek and shook your head. “Promise you will?”

You could feel your cheeks heat up and you ducked your head but he tucked his fingers under your chin and lifted your face to him. His kiss was tender and sweet and you sighed into him. How was he always so perfect.

“Okay, so, cooking for Friendsmas,” he tugged you behind him to the kitchen. “I’m to do sides, so any ideas?”

You worked together all afternoon, preparing food and sipping ridiculous cocktails Bucky insisted on creating. You told him of your families beliefs and how they celebrated the winter season and Bucky in turn shared memories of growing up and his own family traditions.

Time flew past and soon enough it was dark outside. Bucky poured each of you a drink and you giggled when he gripped your waist and easily set you on the counter. He moved between your legs and gave you a sly smirk that had your thighs clenching together.

“Nope,” he teased his thumbs massaging your legs.

“What time do you have to be there?” You asked him as you smoothed out the wrinkles on his shoulders.

Bucky frowned, a look of confusion on his face quickly followed by realisation. “Oh sweet Dolly, is that why you’ve been down? You’re invited to Friendmas too,” Bucky said.

You swallowed. You should have been happy you were being included but instead nerves fluttered in your tummy. You would be there as Bucky’s girlfriend.

Or would you?

You hadn’t labelled your relationship, and it was called Friendmas. Maybe he would get there and see the stunning girls he was friendly with and drop you like a hot potato. He and Natasha had a thing? Right?

And they were all so amazing, beautiful and smart and highly skilled, you just did not fit into any of those categories. You felt average. You acted average. You were average.

Maybe Bucky was bored? Maybe that’s why he showed interest in you? Bored of beauty? But that was unlikely. Maybe you were a good time distraction for a few weeks…

You walked together to the main common room, your arms full of dishes of delicious food. Natasha was there already and she beamed at you as you came through the door. She looked stunning in leggings and an oversized Christmas jumper.

You blushed and smiled to her, suddenly shy. “We need to talk.” Her face turned stern and her tone dark. Was she about to chase you away from her guy?

“Go easy Nat,” Bucky’s voice was playful as he came to a stop next to you.

People hurried and scurried around you trying to warm food and get everyone seated so dinner could start. The chaos distracted Natasha thankfully and soon you found yourself between Sam and Bucky and opposite Steve.

You forgot your insecurities as you chatted to everyone around you. The team were playful and happy and you couldn’t help but relax into the group. Bucky’s solid arm rested along the back of your chair and you snuggled into him without thinking.

After dessert you found yourself in the kitchen alone with Natasha. “Leave that,” she said as you eyed the pile of dishes hoping she would head back to the party. Instead she caught your hand and pulled you away, tugging you outside and onto one of the swing seats. A blanket was tucked under you and Natasha rested her chin on her knee. “Spill.”

“Uh, a-about what?” You asked.

“Bucky,” she began with a chuckle. “You’ve been dating a few weeks now right?”

You paused, listening to the creaking of the swing seat as it moved gently. It was snowing, and you could taste the fresh cold on your tongue.

“I’m not really sure what it is yet,” you admitted.

“Is he romantic?” She sighed. Her eyes were soft and her smile sincere and you couldn’t help but think she was being genuine in her interest. “He’s been pining after you for the longest time. He better be treating you like a Queen.”

“I thought that you two-“

Natasha laughed. “God no! We’re friends. We hang out. Sometimes he sleeps over because he’s less likely to have nightmares if he bunks down next to someone, but we’re not like that.”

“But I thought, the other night, with your feet in-“ you flushed and Natasha smiled gently.

“He gives great foot rubs. He likes PDA’s, likes touch. It grounds him. Oh honeybee I can’t believe that you thought he and I were a thing.” She took your hand and kissed your knuckles. “He’s crazy for you, has been for months.”

“Really?” You asked.

“Really,” Bucky’s voice came from behind.

You startled and looked around at him. Natasha excused herself and Bucky took her place pulling you onto his lap. He used his foot to shove the swing back for a moment before letting go.

“You are so beautiful,” Bucky said. His voice was low and rough and it went straight to your core. “I want you to be all mine baby.”

“Okay,” you swallowed.

“I mean it. Something was bothering you earlier? Was it me? Did I do something?”

“No, no you’re perfect,” you said and he smiled, his eyes crinkled.

“I’m far from perfect,” he kissed your forehead.

You sat for a while thinking about your day.

“My parents cancelled on me for Christmas,” you said after a while. You explained the whole thing, your stuck up sister in law to be, your parent’s ignorance of your feelings. It all came out.

Bucky didn’t speak but his hands rubbed soothing circles on your back and over your arms. You snuggled close to him and he eventually dropped his lips to your hair.

“Their loss is my gain. I can think of nothing better than spending Christmas with you. We’ll make love by the roaring fire and spend the day doting on each other.”

You giggled and shook your head. “Bucky you’re going skiing with your friends.”

“Yeah, and I’m bringing my girlfriend now as well,” Bucky said.

“I can’t ski,” you pouted.

Bucky’s eyes lit up and he pressed another kiss to your lips.

“We can split our time between lessons and lovin’ baby,” he promised.

You laughed at him and his ridiculous ideas but you couldn’t deny it sounded fun. Your mind was already going into overdrive trying to figure out what you would need before leaving.

You soon rejoined the party and Bucky dropped easily into a large armchair, pulling you after him onto his lap. Despite the heat in your face you got comfortable on his lap and watched as the rest of the team argued over how to spend the rest of the evening.

No one said anything about you sitting on Bucky’s lap but you did notice several fond smiles being sent your way. Perhaps no one was surprised or disgusted, perhaps they were just happy for their friends.

“Stay with me tonight?” Bucky’s voice was low and rough as his lips caressed your ear.

You were nervous but you had nothing to be nervous about.

“Okay, I will,” you said pressing a playful kiss to his chin.

What Saw characters are like when they’re stoned lol

To preface, I have no idea why I made this goofy-ass list, and they’re just my own headcanons; do with them what you will 🙏🏻❤️

Peter Strahm: Doesn’t smoke often. Likes the way weed makes him feel, but kinda just gets lost in his own head and stares wide-eyed at anyone who tries to approach him—with the exception of Lindsey, who can usually get through to him. Tends to have major spiritual and philosophical revelations, but whenever he tries to talk about them or write them down, it comes out as goofy stoned word salad. CEO of greening out 💀

Mark Hoffman: Smokes from time to time. Weed makes him clumsy, but somehow even more charming and charismatic, bringing out his good side in a way alcohol never could. Likes listening to Pink Floyd to set the mood. Gets pretty sentimental and just wants to cherish each moment and have a good time. CEO of the munchies.

Lindsey Perez: The fun, easygoing stoner. Smokes fairly regularly, but knows her limits. Likes to put on music and dance or just feel herself, or watch funny shit and talk about it with whoever she’s with—usually Peter. Somehow immune to greening out and therefore amazing at taking care of people having a bad trip—again, usually Peter 💀

Adam Stanheight: Stoned more often than he isn’t, but it’s working out for him. Extremely talkative, giggly, and excitable. Tends to crave really salty stuff and play stupid video games for hours on end. Basically just becomes Adam² 💀

Lawrence Gordon: Only smokes on special occasions, and only the highest quality bud he can find, usually out of fancy pipes. Weed brings out his creative side. Like Peter, he tends to have revelations about the universe, but is far better at expressing them. Knows his limits and basically never greens out.

Amanda Young: Only smokes with Adam or John or when she’s craving harder substances, but enjoys it nonetheless. Gets fairly talkative in a stream of consciousness sort of way. Will see a cute animal and immediately burst into tears—bless her heart.

John Kramer: Doesn’t smoke, and doesn’t really approve of his apprentices smoking, but has given up on stopping them and become the resident trip-sitter instead of putting them all in death traps lol

Tato what’s your favorite like scene idea or whatever (idk how to word it im high) between Wenclair? Like mine is Wednesday being super romantic like Gomez lol

Oh boy. That’s a hard question to answer honestly. You have the ones that show the different dynamics of the two. Then the ones that show how well they fit together like puzzle pieces.

I enjoy scenes where Wednesday lets Enid into her space. Lowering the walls she’s built to keep everyone at a distance. Only to let this bubbly werewolf step all over it. Embracing the chaos that is Enid. Her own preferred method of torture.

Scenes where Wednesday taunts and teases Enid give me life. For instance the first chapter or two of “The Ghost in your videos” Enids just a bumbling mess. Her suffering is delicious.

The reverse is also enjoyable. Wednesday is touch starved all to hell. So I like to think that makes her more sensitive to touch then most people. So when Enid finally steps up to meet Wednesdays challenges she proceeds to melt like butter at Enid being the dominant one.

Scenes where Wednesday is laid back in bed maybe reading an Enid crawls into her lap arms over the girls legs head resting in her lap. Wednesdays got her big hoodie on so there’s no risk of skin contact. So it doesn’t set her on edge, it’s comfortable. Domestic. She’s a cold person, but for Enid she craves the warmth.

Enid speaking Greek to Wednesday, is a head cannon I enjoy. Especially sense it’s collectively decided Greek is a language that Wednesday doesn’t speak. So hearing Enid who she considers a pretty bumbling full speak a language fluently just crawls under her skin and makes itself at home in a nice way. The “Language Barriers” fic is a good representation of that.

I like the head cannon that Wednesday has always been obsessed with werewolves. So getting to look closely at Enids fangs and claws is a #1 priority for her sometimes. To the point where she fantasizes about Enid biting her.

Anything involving the Gomezification of Wednesday Addams. Except not as played up as Gomez. Gomez is all about grand gestures of love, kissing up the arm, physical touch, close proximity. For Wednesday it would holding Enids hand but only the pinkies. Or letting Enid hold the bottom of her shirt as they walked. Letting her braid her hair. Enids got that werewolf strength so at times when Enid really needs a pick me up she’ll just say fuck it an jump into the blondes arms, Enid loves to hold her an carey her around the dorm/apartment. It calms her more then talking sometimes. Then when it comes to words, it would be poems, love letters. Not dark and chilling like some people assume. But a honest heart put on paper type of writing. Wednesday isn’t great with emotions she shoves them down and locks away the key. Her talent lays in her understanding of words and how to weave them together. I played with this a lot in my Beauty and the Beast Fic. Using poems to shed light on the Goths mind set since hiding her feelings that she defiantly pretends not to have is the crowning achievement. She struggles to say what she feels. But when she writes the emotions it’s like watching a painter create a masterpiece.

Those are the main ones i can think of off the top of my head. I always forget anything involving questions people ask. Dx I’ll remember everything I could of said in about 4 hours.

haikyuu boys being emo

a/n: in honor of myself going to an emo concert soon ~ here are my thoughts.

includes: bokuto, kageyama, tsukiishima, kenma, tendou

bokuto:

okay despite probably not being full fledged emo, i feel like i had to mention him

bokuto would probably be in “life is only despair” mode after a loss

mans fully sits in the back of the bus and leans his head against the windows while blasting whatever comes up when he searches “sad emo music playlist”

no one is allowed to sit next to him except for akaashi - MAYBE

he blasts whatever spotify offers in it’s cumulative playlist with this big pout on his face

this leads to him mainly knowing medium to slow paced songs but those with clearly heart-wrenching lyrics

bokuto also probably just knows songs, compared to being an actual fan of the bands who wrote them

mans is on the verge of TEARS when iris by the goo goo dolls comes on and he remembers how he missed that one spike that probably could’ve turned the game around PLSS

kageyama:

so much of kags’ life revolves around angst man

and i mean, he does almost have an emo fringe going for him LOL

but at the same time, i don’t really think kageyama would be one to make his music taste too big of a part of his personality - that’s what volleyball is. so you probably could t tell he was a little emo from the way he dresses.

(outside of a school uniform, mans probably lives in athleisure).

i think we’re not surprised that he gets kinda angry sometimes so i feel like he might turn to a lot of music with screaming

when he discovered it, something about it felt kind of cathartic, like ‘here’s some guy screaming and voicing out my frustrations for me’

he also found comfort in the isolation that this kind of music talked about

after a frustrating (but productive practice) he probably listens to pierce the veil to let off some steam

(hinata wanted to walk home with him once but mans just kept walking out the door bc the music was so damn loud in his ear)

tsukishima:

this guy lmao

another relatively aNgStY bOy are we surprised

i think he would delve a lot more into the music he listens to and he’d listen to the most bands out of anyone here

he’s also shown a lot with his headphones so it’s a bigger part of his life compared to others

he’s a man of culture- one of his favorite band being my chemical romance because of the band’s theatricality but also tremendously well-written lyrics

i feel like his music taste would lightly influence how he dresses too

tsukishima probably owns a wide variety of black band tees, somewhat fitted black jeans, one very worn in pair of converse

but i doubt he’d wear everything together, but it would be mixed with all of his other clothes

like if you paid attention, you’d probably be able to figure out his music taste

he thought about getting a piercing once but backed out after seeing a piercing video

kenma:

he’d probably have a pretty broad range of bands he listens to

i feel like kenma would enjoy paramore and it’d lowkey influence what color he’d dye his hair

he also found music as an escape that he needed sometimes

kenma probably doesn’t listen to so much screaming so maybe he’d gravitate towards fall out boy and secondhand serenade

OH and he learns some ukulele because he gets into twenty one pilots at some point

just imagine kenma strumming along in his room aw

tendou:

maybe it’s because he’s my fave but i really think he’d get into all of this - the vibe would suit him SO WELL

he already has the red hair that he either styles up, but also looks SO GOOD when he just lets it hang down

he’s eccentric so i think he’s just hits shuffle and let’s spotify pick what he listens to

he just has a really big playlist filled with music from so many bands (and he’s still adding to it)

tendou isn’t so angsty but he likes how fired up music can get and how such a sick guitar solo feels like his bones are coming alive

my oh my do black skinny jeans look good on him - he cut the holes on the knees himself lol

DEFINITELY HAS PIERCINGS

mans got one of those side lip piercings and it’s over for anyone when he smirks he’s so damn hot

i think he’d go to the most concerts out of all the boys, he’s tall enough to be able to see the band wherever he is in the pit and he’s not so easily pushed when things get rowdy

definitely loves the feeling of the speakers blasting music into his soul and moshing with a crowd

(fun side fact: he gets ushijima to come to a concert once and mans sticks out from the crowd so badly. he doesn’t understand why the lead singer is screaming, is this music? whY did someone just push him? he ends up going to the back of the pit bc he can see anyway and it’s less violent)

Hi, how was your show!!!??

Thank you for asking! It was great, OBVIOUSLY. I saw Louis play a short set in late 2019, but was not able to go to Walls tour, so this was my first time at a proper tour show (in Berkeley last night) and it was brilliant! I have been trying to figure out what to say besides that though cause tbh there are two posts I want to make. So… both? First for my recap- it was so loud, like the music was just normal concert loud but I had to plug my ears against the screaming between songs cause it was way louder- I just figured it was the in person experience difference but no, Louis confirmed, “you guys have been so fucking loud in here tonight, it's actually been hard for me to hear” so GO US! The chokingly thick haze of weed smoke (“I already feel the energy, I already feel the love, I can already smell the weed,” he was not fucking kidding) to usher in HIC in California (and all the other songs lol) didn’t diminish the energy a bit! Truly, there is nothing like the energy of shared live music, and meeting eyes of other fans (through the trees) and sharing that excitement. And seeing actual physical unmediated Louis, just existing in space being a real live human, yeah. Something.

I was like I'm not gonna bother to take pictures or anything, I just want to dance and hear and look, everyone else's pics will be better anyway but then the TECH, you guys know how much I love the fucking aesthetic of this tour and the screens were SO PRETTY in real life!! So in fact I KEPT getting my phone out for that so like... good one tech crew, you got me. Look for many low quality aesthetic posts of the screens incoming, sorry not sorry. Common People was SO PRETTY, his voice was so clear and lovely and I'm so glad that's been added in. WDBHG went HARD live, holy shit, SO FUN (tho tbh me as Louis thinking I know all the words to that song but it turns out there are a lot? And I do not? At least I was in the best possible company fumbling and mumbling through parts.) Heartbroken I didn’t get Saturdays live (honestly the one song I think might have been my exception to the next thing I’m gonna say) but so thankful for BTM🖤

But part two of this post is to say that watching the livestreams with you all is also brilliant and special and also lets me experience the beauty of Louis’ voice and presence and connection and the feeling of experiencing something together. I wasn’t able to go last year, and I know some of you (many many thousands worldwide!) won’t be able to go this year either or maybe ever, and I know you are seeing the posts telling you there is nothing like being there and you can't really know or appreciate Louis/ Louis’ voice/ the experience unless you are there in person and it feels sad and I want to tell you that I have done the research now and I don’t think that is true. Most people who go to the show won’t have a Y/N moment and be Perceived by Louis or be at barricade, and I don’t think the experience we are having online together is less real or profound than the live experience. His voice sounded fucking gorgeous and soaring and I loved it, but even if you are there it is mediated by all kinds of tech; I imagine getting to be present for an acoustic performance really would be something that couldn’t be replicated but I think a really good live through a clear speaker or a nice quality show video is in fact just fine. Some of the songs did hit me harder in person and get my blood pumping in a different way, yes- but others I actually think I get a fuller experience of in a chiller more focused environment when everything isn’t flying by as quickly. Like I don’t think the megamix would impact the way it does (UGH I LOVE IT SO MUCH) if I just saw it live once and done, for example. Anyway I’m just saying if you can’t make your own (go to the show) store bought is fine (hang with us at stream time! or just whatever online content). While I never intend to watch every stream in fact I am usually right here and love to chat and squee with people, come hang out, or just watch some videos and enjoy the magic.

#obviously overall HECK YES SO HAPPY but I have two complaints in addition to the Saturdays Issue #one is that the Snuts didn’t play Maybe California?? for their first california show?????? why do they hate me?!!!#to be clear it is ON THEIR SETLIST. AND YET.#and the other is something I’ve come up on before with these guys which is that being in the location where your show is always #the day BEFORE the one they are really excited about (LA)… is kind of a bummer🙈it is what it is and it's not a big deal but js #was about to say why can't any of them ever go in the other direction but LMAO NEVER MIND #the question answers itself 😂#anyway I have more thoughts about live vs online experiencing of it all but ...another time #blah blah blah #fitfwt berkeley

8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in.

There are a lot of them, unfortunately.

I won’t name any of our projects with Katsu because I still hope to come back to them and finish them one day. Even the ones that are super old… They are just so good that the idea of not completing at least some of them would break my heart lol

But there are some Solo Ryu projects that I’ve lost interest in. I used to brainstorm about a comedy comic about a girl and another girl that represents her periods and treats her poorly… The joke got old pretty quickly, and the whole thing didn’t work out.

I also used to come up with random characters, but I never do anything with them when I’m doing it alone, so they appeared for one or two sketches and then perished – I’m not really a storyteller, and without a story I can’t get invested in my own ideas :(

16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing.

I don’t know if there is such thing, to be honest. Maybe I’m forgetting something, of course…

But in general, if I’m good at it, my mind usually goes “fuck yeeeeah”, so I’m inevitably end up having fun at least to some degree. Even if it ends up not looking good…

I guess I’ve gotten better at drawing shoes, but I still stress out every time I draw them, so it stops me from having fun sometimes.

20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy

I guess… that would be… hands. 👀

I used to suck at drawings hands so bad that one person from my past even said that with every new drawing I invent a new way to avoid drawing hands. Well well well guess who’s laughing now, Linda?

Saltiness aside, I spent a lot of time getting better at them, so now I really genuinely like drawing hands.

24. Do your references include stock images

I try to avoid them as much as I can, to be honest. It depends on the stock image; sometimes they work nicely, but when it comes to special equipment, the models from the stock images usually don’t know how to hold them properly. Which isn’t their fault at all, I wouldn’t randomly know how to hold a violin either; but for that reason I would probably try to search up some violinist. If I find a good video, that’s even better.

… I rarely really use references aside from situations like this lol

But I also feel like everyone uses stock images to some degree, and I’m no exception.

25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by

We used to receive a lot of comments comparing our stuff to Killing Stalking back when we posted SnK fanart lol And we haven’t even read it…

There were also a couple of times when our stuff got compared to the artstyle of Avatar, which is?? A huge compliment that I didn’t deserve back then?? But despite us loving Avatar very much, we’re not actively inspired by it.

27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with

I try to, a lot of times it’s necessary, because otherwise I make stupid mistakes 💪😔

A lot of times it’s just a simple portrait sketch. But also, sometimes I start by drawing day by doing something simpler, like cleaning/shading the scans or adding base colours to my drawings. I feel like it also counts as a warm up.

look, i love to hate on abe, but i do think there’s some good in all his faults. he’s trying, throughout everything, to come into his own and do something for good, an admirable aim for someone so morally complex. it’s what makes him interesting to watch, and it’s what compels us to reluctantly root for him.

anna strong: champagne problems i’m imagining anna as the woman this song is being sung about, rather than the narrator. she’s often someone whose story gets told for her, but she has her own voice too, and she had her reasons for the hearts she broke.

ben tallmadge: mad woman i was initially tempted to give this song to anna, but let’s be real: ben is the angry person in the culper ring, not her. he’s constantly trying so hard to prove himself that it’s all too easy to turn that fire inward on himself.

caleb brewster: long story short caleb is the person who pretends he’s not living through a war until he can’t pretend anymore. but he’s also the person who picks himself back up after a fall and pushes on, and can laugh about it all in the end.

mary woodhull: tolerate it a bit of an obvious one, but still... ouch, i know. mary throws her whole identity into a failing relationship at the beginning, but ends up growing into her own anyway. like the song, she starts out pleading for a lost cause and ends up taking back her pride.

john graves simcoe: no body, no crime another obvious one haha. despite the pretty self-explanatory murder-y vibes of the song, i also think there’s a righteousness to simcoe’s character: he really believes he’s doing good, doing what he has to to defend his principles.

abigail: mirrorball abigail exists to please others, except she doesn’t have the option to do anything else, and therein lies the bitter unfairness of her situation. her kindness is often an obligation and not a choice, and god, i wish she could have saved some for herself.

edmund hewlett: coney island hewlett sustains himself on hope for so long that it’s a miracle he doesn’t snuff out when it comes crashing down. he’s left wondering where he went wrong, forced to find a new place in a world that never seemed built for him.

john andre: my tears ricochet of course the dead guy gets the song about a ghost lol. no, but really: andre is defined more by his memory than by himself, isn’t he? he tried so hard to make something out of himself, and he’s left with this legacy that belongs to the enemy, not to him. he can go anywhere he wants, just not home... akinbode: cowboy like me akinbode is always on the move, because he has no place to stay. but he wants more, wants to be at the helm of his own life for once: he named himself, chose his own lover, and has plans for after the war. this song feels like a love confession to abigail and also a goal of self-ownership.

cicero: seven we see cicero grow up along with the war, and lose his innocence along the way. he’s a boy still holding onto boyhood at first, and by the end he wants to join the cause he’s only just discovered.

peggy shippen: illicit affairs another obvious one, but it fits too well not to do it. peggy is ruined by her affair with andre, not just because she’s stuck in a loveless marriage with someone else, but because she knows now what consequences look like. she lost herself as she lost him, and worst of all, she did it willingly.

george washington: epiphany washington gets the 'indescribable horrors of war’ song because he is the war in a way, but there’s a current of hope there too. maybe horrors without hope are too great a burden for one man, or maybe america has never been without either.

robert townsend: the lakes the escapist, the denier, the one who never wanted any part in this: that’s robert townsend. he spends more time trying to get away from the war than he does finally accepting that he’s part of something bigger, but that understanding was there all along. otherwise, why fight it as hard as he did?

richard woodhull: hoax the magistrate continually defines himself by his disappointment: in his son, in his town, in everything. he makes judging his purpose as well as his profession, becoming so stuck in cynicism he just barely manages reconciliation before dying in the war that was happening all along, whether he liked it or not.

Like. I’m thinking again. That can be dangerous. But. We’ve talked about merch. We’ve talked about movies of the au. I’m just. Thinking. Of cosplays. Of team scar and Grian and people just… maybe making their own spirits to either cope that they were possessed or because they think it’s cool and wanna look dubiously elderitch. Cosplays of varying qualities too. Like store brand cosplays. Like. Like cosplays you’d order from Amazon. Then flippin homemade cosplays from people who know how to sew. And casual cosplays as well. Also props. Imagine prop making. Also. I’m soft for the idea of little kids in wheelchairs cosplaying Scar’s magickal persona. Or really any folks who are physically impaired. Who do you think would have the most cosplays of themself? Also, on the social media, the Twitter I think it was, do they ever like, like, fan art or fan works or cosplays? Or deep dive analysises? I have another thought but it’s a bit more to the side so I’ll send that in a separate ask. Also I’m hoping to high heavens that tumblr isn’t eating my asks cause I got really excited when talking about the possibilities of spirits the other day and I’m just. A ball of anxiety.

i think scar saw a cosplay of him in magical girl form one time on a like twelve-year-old girl and almost burst into tears, is what i think happens.

i think scar probably has the most cosplays by virtue of being A) the most visible magical girl who is B) not a supervillain - like, grian probably gets people dressing up as him, but it's like, you know there are people who are "fans" of criminals in real life, but they get weird looks, right? and over time blackbird fans get... somewhat less weird looks as she gets less blatantly a supervillain and starts to appear to be helping more often. BIG social media fights on what "villain" even means. and then with the other two - cub mostly sticks to the background except when he does big dramatic chaotic things (and also has not nearly as much of a costume as scar for a while he'd be less fun) and bdubs... bdubs gets a pretty dedicated set of fans too i think but less than just scar.

i think we've made the jokes about fanfiction already (bdubs has it saved on his phone to blackmail scar with as needed lol) but also yeah, that definitely exists. fanart also definitely exists and i think after bdubs joins the team he shows scar and cub how to properly find fanart that isn't being sold as merch when he gets their in-persona social media in order.

as for analysis... i think the local newspaper eventually has to ban op-eds on the local magical girls for like two weeks because they got NOTHING BUT OP-EDS ABOUT THE LOCAL MAGICAL GIRLS and they're like. okay. we need to publish op-eds about other social issues guys. there are probably SO MANY video essays and thinkpieces about "are they good" and "what could they be doing better" and you know, all the stuff i said got talked about, haha. as i said, basically the only taboo here is people who try to do analysis to dig up their real identities, mostly because that gets you cancelled off the internet. which is good for scar, right up until he outright reveals his own identity to the world.

i think a good thing to keep in mind is that they’re basically like... a cross between celebrities and political figures and also sort of fantastical action stars, all at once. they’ve got some weird stuff going on with public relations you know

And the first verse is using court/judgement in relation to his actions “Court is in session/ a verdict is in / no appeal on the docket today / just my own sin” Andy literally used to go to juvenile court because of how much he acted out and that led to him being sent to a school throughout his teens)

I do feel like I have a Point to being kind of a contrarian hater around bg3 because like I don’t actually hate it and there are a lot of great things it does but there’s a lot of things about it that REALLY REALLY bother me and also. like. I get larian isn’t the biggest studio but um. dnd is owned by wizards of the coast which is owned by hasbro. and uh. you don’t even need to look that hard for the awful shit they’ve done. so basically I think it’s important to bring up some things within The Hottest Big Game that I believe leave MUCH MUCH MUCH to be desired. anyways with all the Fantasy Game Stuff it supposedly challenges and twists (I have no idea what people are actually talking about when they say that, I guess it’s because they give NPCs something to do?) it sure seems happy to keep on with the weird traditions of If No Boob How Woman and Woman In Armor Means Tight Metal Jumpsuit and Fantasy Racism that’s just some people being mean to you based on the fact you’re a devilspawn and not like an actual system of oppression based around giving socio-economic power to certain people at the expense of others. and also drow are still evil. they do that really cool fun thing (/s) where people are Fantasy Racist to drow and call them all evil and horrible and yet they’re Right to be doing that because every drow is evil except you can theoretically play as One Of The Good Ones and maybe meet a couple more? great work guys. also no fat people you can’t make a fat character even though you can make your skin green and have horns and a tail. you can play a fucking dragonborn but you can’t be fat. also you only get like a few face presets and they’re different based on if you pick elf or half elf or human or whatever with no crossover???? which really drops the ball considering a lot of games will at least let you match a different nose to a different set of eyes. it is genuinely a big letdown for a game that’s supposedly all about Player Freedom where you can have pink skin and horns but you can’t be fat and if you play as a woman you can be muscular but only in the way where you can still be curvy and if you’re a guy you can be muscular in a twunk way and if you’re a poc trying to make your character reflect you then good fucking luck lol make do with like the 1 face preset you get I don’t even wanna hear about how hard it is because games have been letting you play with facial structures using sliders since forever. also I specifically built this PC to run fast and have good storage I got like 3 other people who Know Shit About Computers for video games and art and I spent a long time and a lot of money making this stupid thing I KNOW it runs well. so why the fuck is my game still so laggy what is taking up all the damn space I know it’s not the character customization. like is it just me or

#also not to be a dick but I don’t know how much abt the fantasy genre and dnd in general that it actually changes #maybe I’ve just been spoiled by playing Real Dnd for too long like #dude I just played a session on a planet covered in the rusting ruins of industry #and whoever was there was splicing animals and people and making clones and making weapons out of crazy materials #that can change properties if you alter their names #and we got attacked by giant squid vultures (squltures) and a gargantuan octopus eagle (octeagle)#and the cleric picked up an axe that liquifies everyone #like it’s made of corium. it’s literally corium #it was in a room with skeletons. it dealt like a ton of radiant damage to us. and he took it #because apparently that’s the 20 wisdom thing to do??????#oh also we’re here because tiamat possessed my lizard and then when we got here she cloned us.

I love super long videos when they're about literature and books, I could listen to those all fucking day! Also, ones of video game playthroughs and analysis hehe

My go to way to fall asleep is the classic way of finding a good ass sleep aid and zonking out to that. I tend to prefer if they're the kind that have an extended period of time that is either silence or like light breathing so that I can relax to it lol.

My all time favorite audio has got to be David's storm comfort audio, cause I hardly ever make it to the end of that audio before passing out lmao

I don’t have a big, overarching, destined by fate reason for my pick, and yet there was no contest in my head. I can’t think of a cuter match for you than Hudson.

There’s so many little things that work here that I love. Hudson is almost definitely an EDM, raver boy, so he would have all the amazing playlists to share with you. He also strikes me as an active dude, someone that’s not unfamiliar with fitness. (Maybe he goes before and after radio shifts to take advantage of those 24 hour gyms?) Also, because he presumably has good taste in movies, he also loves the 90’s Heath Ledger classic romcom (and Heath Ledger in general. Like I said, Hudson has good taste.)

In general, he’d be a really cute, supportive, fun boyfriend to have. Hudson would show up to any and all softball games he can, threatening to serenade you from the seats/bleachers like a cheeseball. If he can’t be there, he’s regaling his listeners with play by play updates between songs, because goddamn, Hudson would be the best hype man.

I like Damien for you because he’s also a productive babe with fitness goals- we all love a hot gym couple! Vincent, I like as a runner up for a couple of silly reasons. One, he’s of the perfect age and generation to appreciate 10 Things I Hate About You and related movies. wth is with the title?

I live in my own little world. Pretty sure most folks that know me personally, know this. And they either just handle it, or ignore... No matter. And the “Captain Obvious” side of it, is me running around with blinders on, missing reality.

I came up with this title, as I wanted something that tells a bit about me, AND is obscurely different enough to draw curiosity. Why that? I don’t know, ... guess I've never been one to appear common, or like everyone else. Pretty sure most folks like to be the individual they are,... but maybe a touch afraid of attracting attention. Because of my attitude towards being an individual, I do attract attention. I don’t believe its intentional (could be), but no matter... I’ll let someone else decide

Been that way most of my life.... I like being me. Never insulted so much as when Lincoln Hoot and Hollar got bought out by Alltel. I went from Bruce Whitefoot to , umm.... really can’t remember that number anymore. LTT, I could call any department, and they’d at least recognize the fact to know me, whether they did or not.

I am a grandpa. I’ve got 5 grand kids.... love them all. Don’t get to see them enough.

Grumpy..... yup, older I get the grumpier I’m getting... thats a fact.

Pants.... since 1999, I have put on the pounds. I went from my fighting weight of 197 (I was at that weight for over 20 years) to my max of 257. When I got up to that weight, my pants were starting to become uncomfortable. Even with upping in sizes a couple of times. This in turn would add to the “grumpy” side of the title.

Lil known side note: I’ve been on a diet since October, and here in February, I’m down almost 30 pounds. Really got tired of pants that hurt. Been a battle, losing weight and my back. Want to get down 50 total.... I’m pretty sure I can do it.

X world... as in Excelsior Henderson World, or Super X community, etc.

I’ve been a member of many organizations thru the years. None have met or surpassed what I’ve experienced in this community. Have developed some strong everlasting friendships, all over this country.... and few in other countries.

This group of folks..... I like to think it wouldn’t mattter, if the common denominator was something other that “Super X”, and still be attractive .... BUT as we all know Brucie, its because its different that attracts me.

Thus “Grandpa Grumpy Pants X world” ... and you can search that on youtube.

Just posted another video yesterday on youtube. Here I’ve got 5 already and thought I’ve be lucky to get 4 a year. LOL

That came about, as my original video I chopped into 4 episodes. And then I remembered a bunch of stuff, I had forgotten, and made the 5th epsiode of the original 4.... I’ve probably still forgotten more stuff. I’ll get it all on there sooner or later.

Cleaning my video files yesterday on my pc, I recognized that I’ve probably got 2 more videos ready to publish. And one already edited waiting.

I know my audience will never be huge. I’ll never make a penny on any of this. But so far I’ve been enjoying. And as long as my Grand kids have access to both, I’m happy.

Talking into a camera/mic isn’t near as intimidating as the first time, but I must admit, I do get tongue tied easily. Editing... I’ve figured out a process that makes it easy for me. Not a smooth motion yet, but getting there.

Uploading to Youtube is a real clock eater. I’ve had to get up close and personal with my computer. Get to know the ins and outs everyone else knows except for me. Tech language, just kicks my ass, 99% of the time I have no idea what the words are telling me. And then the grumpy shows up...

Hi there. I have been following your account for awhile. Besides Black Butler, do you follow other fandoms too?

Hi BDK :). Thank you for the ask.

Kuro is the only fandom I’ve become deeply involved in. The others I tend to just kinda skirt and reblog art or things like that, mostly bc Kuro is the only property I’m super super into.

I don’t always ship people as I tend to not really care much about those. I have to really fall for two or more characters usually for that to happen, and that’s another thing that makes kuro special. I tend to consume a LOT of media to try to stay ahead of my moods (mostly manga and anime nowadays, bc that’s easier for me to read/watch), and most even if I love the story don’t hook me like Kuro. I am generally not one who re-reads or re-watches things more than once. I’m more of consume, move on, and mostly forget lol.

My other problem is I tend to have very niche taste even among “niche” media, and often even when I find something I love and wanna watch more Or experience more of, the fandom is essentially nonexistent, or the content I want doesn’t exist. So there really isn’t a fandom for me to be involved in even I wanted to (cries in Emma, VME, etc)…

But here are some fandoms I do follow on tumblr, more or less, aside from Kuro, ofc, and any ships I may like if applicable:

Ace Attorney (Wrightworth) - I fell so damn hard for Edgeworth when I played the games for the first time. I never expected such an old game to be so gay in the best possible way, and I related so much to him. I don’t really care as much for some of the other characters, but I do enjoy the overall franchise (including The Great Detective series). I doubt I would ever get too involved though

Attack on Titan (eruri), though honestly I really only like Erwin, and mostly as a Bard substitute if I’m being entirely honest… there’s a lot of content for him and that ship and not for Bard and sebard so when I’m really craving what I can’t have I look here. I do not like the series as a whole and I hate the main characters lol so I stopped reading and watching after Erwin’s death and have zero interest in being involved in the fandom. I may one day write something for it bc I had a good story idea, but that would be the most I’d be involved

Buddy Daddies (kuzarei) - biggest thing I’m into rn, like I MAY actually write a oneshot for this. I love Rei bc he reminds me a lot of WDH Luci, and he and K have a kind of sebard dynamic. But even as it’s own I really enjoy the depth of characters that they’ve managed to create with only a few episodes… much better than other series I’ll be polite and not mention lol

Kamisama Hajimemashita (Tomoe) - I am a big sucker for stories about yokai and I love this series partly bc Tomoe reminds me A LOT of Sebastian if he were a kitsune. The story itself is also very good (except I hate the ending and pretend it didn’t happen that way, lol). I don’t dislike the female MC, she’s actually not awful like a lot of shoujo heroines are, but I don’t relate to female characters most of the time and so I don’t really care too much about their ship outside of canon. But I do like seeing fan art especially of him.

Link Click (lucheng) - This was a surprisingly queer-coded and emotional anime (well, donghua) that I was not expecting anything from going in and that I’m very excited to see the next season of. I haven’t sought out any fics for this but have reblogged fan and official art.

xxxHolic (douwata) - the manga for this series infuriated me in a lot of ways, but at the same time I adored the relationship between Doumeki and Watanaki. I don’t think I would write for this fandom but I would read for it, potentially.

That’s about it, aside from some anime/manga I adore that I rewatch/re-read, but don’t really have plans to get involved in fandom for (or there is no fandom for them, at least not an English speaking one), or a few video games I really like but again, it’s more about enjoying some art every now and then rather than anything else.

I’m sorry I’m not more interesting, lol. I rarely enjoy big properties/popular manga/anime, and even if I do it’s like “ah that was nice” and move on. Like I can really appreciate the storytelling behind Fullmetal Alchemist, I have read a couple fan fics for it, and I would rewatch Brotherhood, but I don’t really ship anyone enough/care enough to be in the fandom. Same with SPN. I have watched the first ~10+ seasons or so several times (no I haven’t watched the last few 2-3 and maybe never will), and I really adore Sam and Dean’s relationship, but I never shipped anyone (except maybe Bobby/Rufus, lol), and so I probably will never get into that fandom either. 🤷🏻

Just how I’m wired, I guess.
