who am i and what is this blog for?

i’m grace. i don’t really like sharing many personal details, but i will state that i am 18.

i am obviously a loki fangirl, but i also like: the legend of zelda, splatoon, attack on titan, grimes, and more. i do also like other mcu characters as well but i’m just… more normal about them than i am about loki.

like i said in my bio… this is an anti loki series blog, and i am critical of ragnarok as well. of course if you like these things (specifically ragnarok) still feel free to follow. it’s just i definitely won’t follow back blogs that heavily reblog/post series content, blogs that strictly post the variant/do not post anything that has to do with the og loki, and blogs that reblog/post a lot of lokius/sylki content.

and i… maybe i kinda question why a series blog would follow me in the first place since i am so negative about it 😭 if i don’t follow back, know that it’s truly not personal. i just really don’t want any series stuff on my dash. i have my reasons for deeply disliking the series, and i am more than welcome to discuss/debate those reasons. i have many times on my blog using #anti loki series.

there’s this edits account i follow on TikTok (i don’t know why i have the app, i seriously don’t) and they do amazing Loki edits

they also ship lokius and make edits of that, this doesn’t bother we whatsoever but what really annoys me is people hating on sylki in the comments and while the creator never posts something directly hating on sylki or Sylvie they like comments and reblog stuff that does

why can’t people just ship and let ship

it also really bugs me how i don’t have a problem with what they ship and still follow and interact with their posts (and don’t comment hate on the edits like lokius shippers do on sylki edits) but i’ve seen on here when people who have made gifs, fanart, etc. on Loki before the series and then started shipping sylki and making art on them people send them hate for not doing lokius as well

like are people not allowed to have preferred ships and their own opinions if it goes against yours

the only reason i’m posting about this is because of one remark they made:

and honestly?

i’m just so... absolutely sick to death and beyond of people who DON’T share my views on something, telling me WHY I DO.

i don’t try to tell these people why they LIKE the series, or LIKE sylvie, or LIKE her with LOKI. so why the hell do they insist on trying to lay my thoughts out for me - when so many of the ones who think like i do about it have gone to such exhaustive lengths to explain it, very carefully.

1) NO, i don’t give a fuck about fictional “self”cest. that’s literally a fantasy concept that cannot exist in our universe. so why would it concern me in the slightest if someone wrote a made up story where that impossible event takes place? i literally don’t give a shit about that fandom trope as a storyline -

EXCEPT where it is used to criticise gender diverse people with the bizarre and harmful claim that "fucking themselves” is the reason a person wishes to depart from their assigned birth gender. that dehumanises and fetishises trans and fluid people.

the show drifted a little close to that accusation with mobius screaming at LOKI that he was an “incredible seismic narcissist” for “falling for himself”. even though the show was also super clear that she wasn’t LOKI, she was nothing like him, she was amazing and he was shit actually so how could it be self-love? except somehow it teaches him to love himself? um... kissing yourself is not what self-love means, showrunners. fucking hell.

2) NO, i also don’t give a fuck about lokius. can these people even imagine confronting an IRL person who admits to disliking a specific woman, and presenting this argument to them? “you only hate her because you wish her boyfriend was fucking a man instead of her!” and actually, i ALSO can’t stand mobius, because of the abusive way he treated LOKI. mobius is nowhere near good enough for him, and i absolutely don’t ship them either.

what’s fascinating to me is that they never quote our actual most common arguments against the sylki ship and then attempt to dismantle them or show them to be on false ground. is it because they simply can’t? that the arguments are so reasonable and watertight, that to argue against them would make them look unbalanced, misinformed, and creepy? i don’t know, but until i see it happen, i might as well assume that.

in bullet point form, my own reasons for disliking sylvie:

she’s rude, obnoxious, and aggressive, all the time

she has no personality, just a set of bullying tropes

she never misses an opportunity to belittle or mock LOKI

she doesn’t support him, build him up

she isn’t kind to him, shows no empathy

she’s verbally abusive and physically abusive

she thinks that trauma is an olympic event that she won

she’s emotionally manipulative

she’s ungrateful and selfish

she doesn’t listen, just insists she knows best

she’s one-dimensional and poorly written

the weak plot framing sets her up to be admired but it just backfires

the writers nuked LOKI to make her look better

her actor comes across as too arrogant and dismissive of tom

her acting itself is incredibly average and inconsistent

there are more... *gestures at my entire blog* in there somewhere lol. anyhow... yeh. that. and i’m not even gonna insist that series fans DNI cos guess what, i don’t care if you reblog this and try to argue with it. be my guest, just don’t get mad if i reply to your arguments with my own.

I kind of answered this in the last post but I have no problem with answering this question in depth.

I don’t ship Sylki because I feel like they’re the same person, and it has been addressed that this is true.

Plus, they don’t have good chemistry in my opinion. Sylvie (as much as I love her) used Loki’s feelings for her to get what she wanted.

Everything between them felt so forced and frustrating, even if I didn’t have that issue with them being variants of each other. Same mom, same dad. Y’all forget that their parents weren’t variants just for having them.

I respect Sylki shippers and their opinions, and you’ll never see me bashing them for liking it. If it gets super weird, then I’ll get a little uncomfy, but I’m not going to bash them just to bash them.

I’ve had this in my drafts for several weeks. I don’t see anyone saying this, so I guess I should:

Owen Wilson didn’t become hot just because of the grey hair. He “became” hot because it was a role you guys finally took him seriously in.

Let me explain:

I’ve been seeing a lot of people on Tumblr saying “Oh my god! Didn’t see the Owen crush coming!”

What’s even worse, is that people, those same people, openly say “I hated him with blond hair but now? He’s so hot!”

Tastes are subjective. It’s completely fine if you prefer grey haired Owen to blond Owen. But saying he was ugly before (which mind you, he isn’t) is just plain rude.

If I came up to you and said “You looked better when (part of you) was different” you’d be upset, wouldn’t you? You’d be upset.

There is a reason Owen isn’t on social media, because of shit like this. It’s one thing to not be a fan of his work, but to say he’s bad, and then appreciate it only after Loki? Blasphemous.

Sure, he’s leaned more towards comedy films, and I agree he should go more into drama. But there will always be some bitch out there who demotes him no matter what he does.

Sure, some of his roles are more “childlike” and comedic, but that’s not an issue. That’s what he likes and he’s made a name for himself. But saying those roles can’t be taken seriously is actually pathetic. Saying he’s only good in one role is pathetic.

I created this blog purely as a joke. I thought, what the hell, since my other blog was shadowbanned, and Tumblr won’t unban it, no matter how many emails I send, I’ll make a whole blog to appreciation Owen, posting pictures, memes and reblogging content about him.

This blog became a hell of a lot more popular than I anticipated. I actually got asks for the first time on this blog. I’d never gotten an ask before. Crazy.

I don’t mind it. I actually really like spreading positivity about him. After seeing the absolute shit show that is Twitter, and the sylki stans calling him a dead beat dad, I’ve been more motivated than ever to keep this up.

I’ll never shame any of you for preferring Owen with grey hair. However, I will shame you for saying he is attractive only with grey hair. He is actually really talented, and honestly, really beautiful. Make jokes all you want about how much you want to get railed by him after the Esquire interview (myself included) but he really is pretty.

I request you watch his work in any Wes Anderson film. He’s able to show off his range there, and the films are really good as standalone films regardless of him being there.

The reason I say this is because he isn’t just some blond himbo who can be stupid with Vince Vaughn. He isn’t just some blond model with Ben Stiller. He has some excellent roles, and was even nominated for an academy award for his screenplay with Wes Anderson.

The fact that some of you place all his value purely in his looks and his personal life is absolutely disgusting. The fact that some of you see Owen as Mobius and nothing else is awful. The fact you put value on him in one role is rude.

I know I won’t get any benefits from posting this rant. I know that. I just get so frustrated seeing some of you say “Wow I thought he was ugly but daaamn that grey hair makes me wish he’d breed me.”

I’ll reiterate: If I told you you were ugly until you changed a part of yourself, and that I wouldn’t like you otherwise, you’d be upset too. So please, let’s keep it respectful across all platforms, yeah?

Another thing I’d like to mention: Why disclaim you finding Owen attractive?

I don’t see anyone disclaiming finding Tom Hiddleston attractive. Why is that?

Are you scared someone is going to judge you? On Tumblr?

So what if you think he’s hot? So what? The fact I even have to bring this up just annoys the hell out of me.
