I saw on the original post of these gifts the reblogs and...wow. Not the people saying "Tony reacts like that because that's what Steve tried to tell him before!! #antitonystark"
What actually Steve said: This job... We try to save as many people as we can. Sometimes that doesn't mean everybody, but, if we can't find a way to live with that, Next time... maybe nobody can be saved.
Peter is basically saying he can't live with the knowledge of not helping everyone, Steve is saying that they have to learn to live with it because it's better saving someone than not saving everyone.
While I think Steve is not an asshole and doesn't like when someone dies, I also think that Peter and Steve are not guided by the same morality. Steve accept the fact a lot of people die with his job, Peter and Tony don't. They can't accept the fact they cannot save everyone, they feel responsible for every damage they cause. That's why Tony had that look, because he related to Peter's words. That's literally the point of why he wanted the accords.
Tony blames him self and not just for Ultron. He blamed himself since IM1. When he said "I just finally know what I have to do, and i know in my heart that's it's right" and right before that he mentioned the soldiers who were killed by his weapons, even if it wasn't directly his fault. You can se the parallels between the two of them, they both blames themselves for everything.
Were the accords bad? Yes. Were they needed? Also, Yes. The idea of the accords was good because if I was one of the civilians like Zemo I would want them, and you cannot say otherwise if you were in their place.
So yes, I still think Peter would have been on Team Iron Man anyway because Peter would never turn his back on the civilians (He sacrifices his identity for them, he sacrificed his whole life for them). Even if he didn't like the accords, he would have accepted them and willed to change them. Peter and Tony have the same guilt, the same morale. Tony choose Peter because he saw himself in him, and Peter found comfort in Tony because he was the only one who understood him (Like confirmed in IW novelization).
Tony was the best person to mentor him.

I watched Infinity War today, sometimes I question why I liked it so much because half the things they do pisses me off. Especially Quill he pisses me off so much.
And STEVE, don’t even get me started on him. “We don’t trade lives,” JUST A MOVIE A GO YOU WERE PREACHING THAT WE NEED ACCEPT THAT IN YOUR LINE OF WORK YOU CAN’T SAVE EVERYONE. And than he goes ahead sacrifices a bunch of people (POCs) to save a ROBOT! Who mind you could be made again.
But I guess that only applies to faceless people. Not to the people you know personally and especially not if Wanda loves that person. I hate his hypocritical ass so much.

Interesting Reminders
Always fun times when the Team Treason trolls come onto old posts to complain that not everyone ignores canon like they do.
Anyway, here’s a few reminders of canon, in case it’s been a while since you’ve watched the older MCU stuff (Phases 1 & 2):
Tony Stark was not the one selling weapons to terrorists. That was Obadiah Stane, who was so convinced that Tony wouldn’t agree that he tried to kill him multiple times. He also wasn’t a “war profiteer”. That term has an actual definition which he does not fit.
Steve Rogers has never been an officer and was actually discharged from the army as a private. “Captain America” is a stage name. Arguing over who gets to use it after Rogers died makes as much sense as arguing over who should get the nickname “the King”.
Natasha Romanoff knows less than nothing about psychology. She was also a shitty friend and an even shittier sister. (Yelena deserved better.)
Thor is actually a sexist jerk. His “support” of women ends with what they can do for him personally and not because he believes women are equal to men.
“Ultron” existed in the Mind Stone prior to the Scepter coming into the Avengers’ possession. Tony Stark & Bruce Banner never installed that existing program into anything nor did that program access the program that they wrote but couldn’t get operational.
Wanda Maximoff is a terrorist, of her own admittance. She voluntarily worked for Hydra, knowing they were Hydra, and never showed any remorse for having done so. In the MCU, she is also a white Christian, not a Jewish Roma.
The Accords were about accountability and holding superheroes to the same protocols as other martial forces potentially crossing sovereign borders, regardless of SHIELD using them as an excuse to continue their Index protocols.
What a great way to come out of a holiday celebrating violence, huh?

i’m looking for an anti team cap fic on ao3 that i read once where either the entire team or just clint break into tony’s living quarters and finds laura and her kids there with tony watching a movie in the living room and it shocks clint cause he didn’t even know laura left the farm. i’m pretty sure peter and maybe harley are there. i vaguely remember laura’s kids either call tony dad or uncle. i’m not sure if a physical fight breaks out but i know there’s shouting. does it sound familiar to anyone? it might be part of a series.

Team Cap (especially Steve) only got off easy because the avengers have plot armor. The whole world could have sued them six ways to Sunday like it would have happened if it were real.

We all agree that Sabra is problematic, but nobody wants to acknowledge that Captain America is problematic for the exact same reasons.

Clint: ... So I'm guessing you're still upset over everything that happened between us and Tony?
Stephen: Why would you say that?
[camera pans out to show Clint is tied up over a portal into a dimension of endless fire and lava]
Clint: No reason.

Craig Brown: becomes a serial killer after losing his family
Wendy Martin: mind rapes the avengers, sets hulk in Johannesburg, is the catalyst behind ultron, mind rapes a whole town, traverses the multiverse to kill a teenager and steal her power, kills members of the illuminati, her alter self all to get back make believe kids
Stove Rogue: aided and abetted HYDRA by keeping Howard and Maria's deaths a secret, most likely used tonys money to hunt for his parents murderer, lied to Tony, broke a plethora of international laws & spat in 117 countries faces
Tony Stark: made a couple dark humour jokes (I don't agree with them) and used to be a weapons manufacturer.
Wendy Stove, & Craig stans: Tony Stark is a murderer and transphobe and rape apologist :)
Me, a tony stan:

so i agree that civil war feels more like an avengers movie than a captain america movie, but to me it also failed when it made tony a lot more sympathetic than the titular character we're supposed to root for

I just saw a video on my FYP (Why are they even appearing there? I am Team Iron Man, stop showing me this crap!) that started with the words "Tony Stark is not a hero, he is a villain seeking atonement" and I kid you not, I didn't hit block button faster. "I am Team Cap" is not really something someone should throw around after a sentence like this, because oh boy, we know you are Team Cap from that stupid take you just said. Funny how people like this cannot even notice that their dear cutesy Cap through the whole MCU was on a road into becoming a villain, but are first to point fingers at Tony.

sorry but i can’t take anyone who says tony was just as wrong in civil war seriously because if you just left your tony hate at the door and watched the movie you’d see that he tried to do everything right but team cap are the ones who escalated things. they refused to sign the accords even though they could have worked to make adjustments to them as time went on, caused havoc because of bucky, had wanda throw vision through several floors and initiated the fight at the airport. tony also was holding himself back in that fight because steve and bucky would’ve been dead in a heartbeat but that’s not the outcome he wanted and how was he repaid? by having a shield slammed in his chest and left to die. and you want me to believe what he did was just as bad? be fucking serious.
