Hellsing OC Masterpost
Tumblr media
(Sorry if this post makes zero sense..)
The general premise:
It takes place post-time skip, there is some sort of international threat (still under development) that leads the Hellsing Organization to have to travel to America. However, the US government figures this out and says if they want to continue their investigation without legal persecution they have to work with their own vampire-fighting organization: Morris Co.
The characters of Morris Co are meant to be ‘mirrors’ of those in the Hellsing organization.
Morris Co:
(Since Quincey Morris was shown being dead at one point; I basically just added in ‘he left behind a son’ and made Quincey Morris a widower (which is why he proposed to Lucy))
Morris Co is a very similar organization to Hellsing, dealing with any supernatural threats that threaten the US. It was founded by Quincey Morris, and gained a reputation after he captured and sealed away ‘The Headless Horseman.’ After Quincey’s death assisting Abraham Van Hellsing in capturing Dracula, his son, James Morris, took over the company.
Inspired by the the Hellsing Organization’s idea of using Count Dracula (Alucard) as their own personal weapon, James decides to unseal the monster his father had captured for the same purpose. He coins the name ‘Bishop,’ which the horseman uses from then on.
The present-day head of Morris Co is Elizabeth Morris, the granddaughter of Quincey Morris. The organization works closely with the CIA, and receives large sums of money from the government.
Elizabeth Morris:
As stated before, Elizabeth Morris is the head of Morris Co as Quincey Morris’s ancestor. She uses a regenerator, as well as carries silver throwing knives and a gun with silver bullets on her person for protection.
Unlike Integra, she keeps a much more hospitable and ‘professional’ attitude, dealing with things with a calm demeanor. However, this nice demeanor is simply just courtesy. She cares very little about the civilians she is supposedly trying to protect, but rather cares most about “getting the job done.” She is willing to put her men and civilians lives in danger for the sake of protecting Morris Co’s reputation and continue receiving government funding.
To put in simple terms: Integra seems harsh, but she genuinely wants to protect humanity, and cares for those who work under her. Elizabeth, on the other hand, seems friendly and hospitable actually only cares for profit, and she sees the people who work under her as mere pawns to serve her interests.
Bishop:
Bishop is Morris Co’s ‘Trump Card,’ a willpower vampire that once roamed the west under the title of ‘The Headless Horseman.’ (More notes on how that works in the pic)
Bishop’s backstory follows a similar story to the story of the Headless Horseman, an American Revolutionary War soldier gets his head blown off by a canon in the battlefield. However, all the blood flows to him and he becomes a Willpower Vampire, and his head regenerates ‘wrong’ (like Seras’s arm). He spends many years wandering around the US as an undead legend before being defeated by Quincey Morris. He is sealed away in a locked coffin for many years before James Morris unsealed him. After his release, he takes a slightly different form to better ‘blend in’ with the humans he lives with.
He comes off as a “strong silent type” at a first glance, though over time it becomes more apparent he is under an unspoken ‘do not speak unless spoken too’ rule. This becomes confusing for him when members of Hellsing talk to him semi-casually, or when he sees Seras and Alucard talk to Integra casually.
When he does speak, he talks with a heavy southern accent, uses a lot of contractions/slangs, a kind of opposite way of Alucard’s sort of regal way of talking.
Also, unlike Alucard, he isn’t one to push buttons, and l will back down if Elizabeth (or later Integra) shows any sign of hostility or irritation because his relationship with humans is much more rocky. He will still keep his ‘tough guy’ front by acting like he doesn’t care. For example he’s likely to shrug something off and go “alrighty then” instead of argue his point.
Elizabeth and Bishop don’t have any sort of friendliness between them the way the members of Hellsing do, nor does Bishop really see any honor in what they do because he can see past her friendly front.
He is also much more likely to take bullets for/protect humans, because he sees it as his responsibility to do so. He sees humans in a similar way a farmer sees his livestock, a way that is still ‘below him’ but also has a bit of respect and care to it.
In the same allegory as Alucard = Guarddog, Bishop = sheepdog.

... and the association of Vic with Beckett...
There's this thing about associating a woman with a man. Whatever happens, there is like a transference of hate to the woman and love to the man.
Men already get less hate doing something worse than women and more love when doing something minimally decent. The way the narratives are framed on the show don't help.
The choice to - make Maya give Beckett the bottle shifted the blame to her, absolving him. Somehow to some, she became the worst person on the show and whatever she did was her personal unique moral failings. Beckett's long list of poor choices made throughout his captaincy that endangered himself, his team n civilians... The resolution was merely his voluntary stint at rehab. Oh and quietly demoted. No mention of his wrongdoings again. Everyone's just fine with him already. Just like how they accepted his bad behavior right from the start.
The choice to - make Vic to not notice maya's distress and say those words about her, a longtime friend and teammate while being hyper aware of Beckett's state and being especially empathetic towards him.
I hope the speculation isn't true. It'll be a disservice to Vic as a character. It's the use of a well-liked female character to redeem a disliked male character.
On a show where already
... the men don't really need to work on themselves - the characters around them simply lower their standards to accommodate.
... toxic masculinity is conflated with addiction/ mental health issues,
... the men's addiction and wrongdoings - related or not to the addiction, are systemic issues - of the healthcare system failing Sullivan or an inter-generational alcohol problem trapping Beckett
I'm all for the empathy for the struggle with addiction n underlying issues but against using them as excuses to not hold people accountable for bad behavior.

#OTD in 1172 – The Synod of Cashel | the Bishops of Ireland, under duress, pledge allegiance to Henry II of England.
Twenty years after the Synod of Kells had received papal confirmation for the new organisational structure for the church in Ireland, another synod took place at Cashel. This, however, was a synod of a different kind; it assembled at the request of King Henry II of England, shortly after his arrival in Ireland on 17 October 1171. He first went to Lismore, the see of Gilla-Crfst Ua Connairche,…

Raphaniel Charlock
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is my contribution to the ravening war fandom. I wanted to see what a really old radish actually looks like, so I left it in the fridge for weeks. It’s surprisingly gummy in texture. ( the stem was already cut off when I started this experiment so I couldn’t get the whole “raphaniel look”, also I realized that I should’ve drawn the face with a white pen but I didn’t have that)

More about the Eastern Church, since I didn’t read this with attention back then
It’s a letter adressed to the Bishop (presumably of the Eastern Church) by the leader of House Nilsson and I was wondering, who is he writing too ? :
...Not just my wife Claudia, who called the meeting, but all women of House Daphnel seem to possess the same capable bravery and strong disposition to be renowned as "hero." You too are no exception.
Nilsson married a Daphnel? It could be Judith, she is also from House Daphnel, that’s why Nilsson would be mentionning House Daphnel and it would be a nod to Jurdith’s hero epithet later?
Or -
Nilsson mentions how his wife is brave and OP, and compares her to women of House Daphnel who are also brave and OP.
But like, it would imply Judith was a Bishop? Before?? being the badass we all know?
Who could have imagined the Eastern Knights dissolving when Leicester is still so far from peace? Of course, many of the lords understand your thinking and went along with the decision. At the same time, you cannot ignore the serious concerns that many have.
Too bad we don’t have anything about the Bishop’s “thinking” though. Also, Leicester wasn’t at peace? Are they talking about the Almyran visits, or random brigands, or whatever?
You proclaimed that you would abandon the sword, but it would be premature to abandon your shield as well. We write to you with a suggestion. Let the knights of our household become the Eastern Church's shield, in place of the dissolved Eastern Knights.
Judith is the Hero of Daphnel and someone who fights and is reknown for a fighting prowesses and spy networks - so it wouldn’t fit if she abandoned “the sword”.
Or maybe here it’s like “abandoning the Goddess’s sword”, but not the Shield (ref to Alois saying the KoS are the Sword and Shield of the Goddess?), which is why Nilsson thinks it’s still important to have people protect the Eastern Church.
If you would accept this arrangement, I believe you would avoid an awkward inquisition from the archbishop, who has taken some issue with your way of thinking. Additionally, my wife, who considers you a sister, has been very concerned about you. For that reason as well, I hope you will consider my offer.
Rhea BaD?
Apparently she has an issue with this bishop’s way of thinking - mirroring what Nilsson wrote earlier about “serious concerns that many have”.
Claudia, a former Daphnel now married to Nilsson, thinks of this “bishop” as her sister and is also concerned about her, but why would she be concerned about? Rhea’s “inquisition*”?
* given what we know of Rhea’s reaction to bishops pissing on her decrees and even trying to assassinate her - until the events of the game, I don’t think this inquisition was something like late MA inquisition but more like the usual ecclesiastical court process/trial
Ultimately we know Nilsson’s offer was accepted.
Blessings of the goddess upon you, Hans von Nilsson
Look an Adrestian name lol
So, maybe the name Claudia is common in the Alliance (something Claude suggests?) and Claudia von Nilsson has no ties to the Claudia formerly Riegan from the Abyss’s note (she was writing something to a noble (from Daphnel?) wanting to marry this noble even if this noble’s brother wanted to defect to the Kingdom - what will ultimately become Galatea - because he’s jelly he won’t be the heir).
Or we’re talking about the same person ?
Which would mean...
Claudia wanted to marry someone from House Daphnel, but House Daphnel was in turmoil because elder Daphnel made a tantrum over not inheriting, so he broke away and made Galatea.
Claudia didn’t marry that person from House Daphnel, but married Hans von Nilsson instead.
Claudia thinks as the Bishop from House Daphnel as “a sister” and supports and worries about her, Bishop decided to disband her local branch of knights, and Nilsson accepted to lend his knights to act as a Shield for the local Church, hoping to avoid Rhea’s inquiry - something both Daphnel Bishop and Claudia and Hans are concerned about?
But if this is the case, then the Bishop - someone Claudia sees as a sister and wanted to marry - cannot be Judith, because Judith has no crest.
Ultimately I don’t think the Bishop of the Eastern Church who got rid of her knights was Judith herself, because Seteth would have mentioned it at one point, and if that Bishop was worried about an inquiry, I don’t think Seteth would be that super rejoiced (even if he might put this on the side, bcs the war is more important).
Tldr : If Claudia from Nopes and Claudia from the Abyss are the same persons, we learn that the Alliance is rife with political stuff, alliances where people have to fuck people they might not like, etc etc - and the Eastern Church was defanged over something that apparently was okay with “many lords”, but still created concerns for “many”.
Also, the Central Church is the ruling body over the regional churches and leads any inquiry/inquisition for matters relating to the Faith - Rhea herself had “issues” with that Bishop’s way of thinking (but didn’t execute her asap :( ), most likely to disband the Knights from the Eastern Church? - but we won’t know what was the reasoning that led to that disbandment.
Ultimately, we know that Bishop’s choice bit the Eastern Church in the rear, when random pirates, pretending to be Almyrans, attacked and House Nilsson was nowhere to be, so they had to ask the KoS and the Central Church for help...

'A Day's Work' - Chibs Telford drabble
Ok, this was originally supposed to be Chibs x Reader X Taza smut. Alas, Adelaide took over. Some of you know this little girl runs around in my mind all the time and vision of Chibs as a single dad is something I can't quite shake. Anyway, enjoy.
Tumblr media
The tension in the building started dissipating as the sound of engines belonging to VM assholes faded away. When the air grew quiet again, Mayans and Reaper men all took a collective breath of relief and started filling out of the room, eager to get their drink on. Chibs motioned for Taza and Bishop to stay behind. “Tha’ coulda ended very bloody.” He stated after he emptied his shot glass. “Don’t do anythin’ stupid boys. So I won’t have to come back and clean up another mess.” “We didn’t…” Bishop started to argue, but was stopped short when Chibs stood in front of him and pushed a finger right into the shorter man’s face. “Listen to me, you little shite! Ye rule yer table with that fragile ego o’ yers and yer all gonna be dead within a year!” Bishop’s nostrils flared and his entire body tensed as if he was getting ready to tackle the SOA President. Thankfully, the feud was avoided when Taza stepped between the two men. “Chibs, this matter doesn’t concern you.” “Aye, yer forgettin’ - he pointed at Taza now - Old Friend, I’ve been there. With two presidents. Redwood nearly got wiped off the bloody map because of personal feuds handled the wrong way. Ye do what ye will, but mind my words.” A knock on the door interrupted what might have been another misguided remark from Bishop. Hap stuck his head into the room, “We good here, Prez?” “Yeah, Hap. Now, where’s my drink?”
About an hour later, when the fences were mended and egos sufficiently lubricated, Chibs gave his men the signal to pack it up. As Reaper exited the building and older Mayans followed them outside, Taza clapped Chibs on the back. “You sure you don't wanna stay and party for old times sake?” “Hell nah. Man was not intended to survive in this heat,” the Scott practically scoffed. Taza made a sweeping motion with his arms, “Then walk your old ass back inside, where there’s AC as God intended.” “And ride out after dark, when it’s cooler.” Bishop added, his good humor clearly restored. “Your favorite girl is gonna be here later,” Taza added with a knowing smirk. Chibs sat on his bike seemingly pondering the offer before sighing and saying, “Wish I could. Gotta get home to my daughter.” At Taza’s and Bishop’s raised eyebrows, Hap cut into the conversation, “It’s Disney night, Frozen. Addie loves that movie.” Had anyone else said that, a good, long round of laughter and good-natured ribbing would follow. Alas, when Happy was deadly serious like that, not one outlaw dared. The silence was cut by Montez, who said, “Prez, I could call up Tig, see if the little banshee can stay with him and Venus tonight.” And then he added, “ You know how he loves singing those songs around the house.” Hap and Quinn snorted in unison, but Chibs’ expression remained serious as he replied, “Aye, and then Venus will have my balls in a jar for that.” It was now Taza’s turn to chuckle, “So use ‘em while got ‘em?” After a moment, Chibs turned to his Road Captain and said, “Aye, fine. Just make sure to tell Venus not to sprinkle glitter all over my kid. That shite sticks to everything.” “Well, I wasn’t gonna say anything,” Bishop reached to touch Chibs’ kutte. “But it sure does,” with that he plucked a spec of pink and shiny off Chibs’ President flash. “Jesus Christ,” Chibs muttered as he dismounted. “You know, Old Friend, “ Taza hooked his arm around his arms. “We still don’t know which is more shocking. You knocking up the sheriff and co-parenting with her or Tig putting his crow on a gal with a huge cock.”
A little while later, Chibs was enjoying the god-given AC and nursing another glass of Jameson, passing the time before the girls arrived, when Hap walked over to him with their family-only burner in hand. “It’s Addy. She wants to vent about school.” “Christ, seven years old and already questioning authority,” Chibs muttered as he reached for the phone. Before handing it over, Hap chuckled and mutter his own, “I wonder where she gets that from.” By a way of replying Chibs raised his middle finger, as he snatched the burner with his other hand. “Hey, little warrior. How was school?” He asked already sensing the answer. “Stupid. Boring. Miss Courtney wouldn't let me read in class,” the sound of his younger daughter’s voice filled his head as she continued chatting and venting and everything in between. When he finally could get a word in, Chibs asked, “What were ye trying to read, sweetie?” ‘Um, The Witcher?” “Addie… Where did ye get it?” “I…erm… swipped,” she stopped herself, "I mean borrowed it from uncle Juice and auntie Tristan.” After a short pause, she added resolutely, “Without them knowing.” As Chibs massaged his temple with his free hand, he thought his baby definitely took after Althea, at least in the diplomacy department.

~ Marauders and co. as Winston Bishop quotes ~
James: They call me prank sinatra
Sirius: Sometimes I feel like I never really felt love, you know? You know?
Remus: I'm just staying positive, but um... I'm pretty sure this is where we die.
Peter: There are parts of my butt only a tub can clean.
Lily: I'm worried about Sirius, he's a posh boy in the desert. I don't want him to wander.
Mary: You know, break up with him. That's an option. I was thinking, like, I'll kill his cat.
Marlene: I have inside jokes with my pet.
