Constantly thinking about how WWX thinks about JC how he thinks JFM thought about YZY but mostly as how he denied and yet carelessly commented JFM thinks (disregards) about JC
It is so, so, so fucked up and one of the reasons why chengxian is so doomed by the narrative bc no matter what JC does or says, WWX already "knows" what is about. Bc JC is his shidi and WWX knows best. And still, pre masacre, pre core exchange, it could have work. It could have, because they love each other so much but JC lost his core. WWX thinks he chose his parents. He thinks Jc choose the dead bodies of his parents, a filial duty, over survival, over him. And he never forgave Jc for it.
Bc now is WWX turn to assume the consequences of his shidi actions, now it is his turn to bear the pain for him. And he does not do it with reluctance, he does not, he does it bc he loves Jc so so much, but still. Still. The hurt it caused it. The hell it send to him. The hopelessness.
And then to see his shidi thrive were he can’t no longer. To see him shine when he is but a shadow. To see him reach for the impossible time and time again as if it was not WWX who never gave up before, who rallied his shidi over his (small, imagined, greedy) woes. To see all that and know envy, envy he had denied his whole life and envy he will repress into resentment, into sth useful bc WWX is not like yzy or Jc he is not, he does not hurt the ones he lives with his jealousy and sense of inferiority. Bc how can he not envy, when one says his dad doesn’t love him but he still has a dad? When one says he is not enough for his sect when he has such a inheritance, such a clear path at life. And WWX never cared never ever ever, how could he? He loved his shidi best, in spite of all the bad things.
And somehow, Jc himself is a thing he has to be loved in spite of. And it’s heartbreaking.
#but WWX never will say any of that aloud or even think it clearly#this man has been running form negative emotion like he’s sprinting his whole life#also that would make him the bad guy and WWX has enough guilt to carry and not talk about already try#also I love Jc and it shows sorry#this is not to say he is a perfect shidi or anything the man is a mess#but all his doubts about WWX character have it reason. it’s proof#and maybe the proof was forged but it was there#he does not deal with a single emotion gracefully but he does deal with them. he lets them simmer for eternity#which is. not ignoring them.#bad but at least real. idk how to say it.#anyway it fucks me up how much agency WWX denies Jc and how much complexity he refuses to see#like. WWX would do the impossible to make Jc the person who hates him irrationally so that he is not the bad guy in the relationship#(which is more complex than good or bad guys but I digress)#I love when they reconcile but I also hate it. bc it is never acknowledged how much WWX daily shits on Jc as a person)#you can love a person you don’t like. it happens.#but the Jc in WWX head is not the real Jc and the sad thing is that WWX loves the real Jc not the inherited prejudice from jfm#but he can’t perceive him he refuses to he can’t bc then he has to deal with what he did to him.#he lied. he lied. he lied to Jc’s (and himself) so much he can’t no longer distinguish the truth of them and is so fucking sad#mxtx#chengxian#grandmaster of demonic cultivation

yan! reiner braun hcs
i can’t get enough of this man.
cws: yandere themes, slight worshipper themes, the two of you initially met as scouts, aot season 4 spoilers, spoilers in general, kidnapping, kinda all or nothing thinking, some pathetic reiner crumbs bc i love seeing him pathetic, can kinda be perceived as having some form of a personality disorder, forced starvation and dehydration, kinda dehumanization, slight housewife (gn though) vibes but he just wants you to be productive.
— yan! reiner braun who initially fell in love with you during your time in the scouts. he was absolutely enamored with you. you, with all your flaws and rough edges, have single-handedly made it infinitely harder for him to complete his mission.
— yan! reiner who loves when you tend to his wounds. it makes him feel more human, settling further into the delusion that he had always been a paradisian.
— yan! reiner who is constantly hovering around you after he’s come to terms with his feelings. he has to protect you… no, he needs to. no one can protect you but him.
— yan! reiner who ensures that you’re left with someone he knows will protect you when he has to carry out the phases of his mission before leaving to do so. reiner will also immediately look for you when he’s finished, checking you for injuries— big or small, he’ll patch them up with furrowed brows and a firm expression.
— yan! reiner who is a little creepy… and overbearing. when you’re training, he’s training you to protect yourself in a more efficient way. when you’re eating, he’s making sure you eat good, going as far as to give you a portion of his rations. when you have free time, he’s always itching to spend time with you. you almost never have a moment to yourself unless levi has you stationed elsewhere.
— yan! reiner who feels the need to protect you because he’s witness just how bad this world really is. he is the bad… but he can be everything you need if you’ll let him. he needs to be your everything.
— yan! reiner who values your opinion more than his own. he needs your validation and approval and kindness. he feels like a piece of shit already and he knows that you’ll hate him when he completes the final stage of his plan, but god does he need you. he needs you more than he needs air.
— yan! reiner who takes you back to his homeland. whether you’re screaming profanities at him, kicking or screaming, crying or begging for him to let you go… it’s futile in the end. he needs you. he can’t guarantee your protection if he’s away from you. he can’t live without you; you’re his rock.
— yan! reiner who pulls some strings to get you citizenship in marley. shortly after, the two of you are wed. naturally, his family and friends don’t attend since you’re a filthy island devil, but it’s enough for him to finally be marrying you.
— yan! reiner who will never touch you in any way you don’t want him to. he will always respect your bodily autonomy seeing as he already hates himself and views himself as a monster. he wouldn’t want to be even worse of a person to you. as for punishments… well, that’s a different ballgame.
— yan! reiner who, in a fit of anger, would scream at you. he’s done everything for you! he provides for you, he keeps you safe and well-fed, he has never touched you in any sexual manner (unless you’ve given him explicit consent)— he keeps you healthy and safe and you’ll never have to work again! but if you’ve been ungrateful and have been refusing his efforts, unfortunately he wont be able to be the man you want him to be.
— yan! reiner who corners you, roughly jerking you up by your hair and locking you in the basement. he’ll tell you that you can come out once you’ve learned your lesson. he’ll deliver the absolute bare minimum. a bucket to use the bathroom in, stale bread, and a glass of water every three days. how long you stay down there is up to you.
— yan! reiner who will slump against the basement door and sob. he feels awful, but he knows he can’t let you out. he can’t let you walk all over him. it’s even worse that he’s confirming your already terrible view on him.
— yan! reiner who grovels at your feet for forgiveness when you’re finally out of the basement. he’ll bathe you and murmur constant apologies, all while crying about how awful he feels about it. he’ll brush your hair out, wincing as you flinch, and turn around while you dress yourself.
— yan! reiner who will whip up a tasty meal for you, and if you’re unresponsive, feed you himself. he needs to make sure you’re getting the nutrients you need.
— yan! reiner who, if you lost a noticeable amount of weight while in the basement, gazes at you sadly. he’ll go out and purchase supplements for you to take while you recover and insist you stay in bed while he takes care of all the housework.
— yan! reiner who requires you to do things while he’s gone. he at least wants a warm meal when he comes home, and if the house isn’t in disarray it’s acceptable for him. he’ll help you with chores when he gets home— even if he’s exhausted and ready to collapse. he doesn’t want to place too much pressure on you, but he doesn’t want you succumbing to depression.
— yan! reiner who will press a kiss to your temple, forehead, or cheeks. if he’s feeling bold enough, he’ll press a chaste kiss to your lips.
— yan! reiner who will hold you sooo close to him when it’s time for bed. he needs to feel you against him because it helps him sleep. you bring him peace.
— yan! reiner who absolutely has to have physical contact with you when you accompany him to meet with the other warriors. he has to stake his claim. he has to make it known that you’re his, even if the silver band on your left hand speaks volumes.
— yan! reiner who absolutely adores you. he praises you every moment he can. he needs you to understand why he fell in love with you, how lovely you are, and how much he loves you.
— yan! reiner who just wants to love you and be loved in return. he feels like an asshole for ripping you away from everything you’ve ever known but he needs you.

The original 3 of A:tla are genuinely the only ones who I can picture actually wanting to have children.
Katara might be “motherly” because she was forced into the roll, but she is also genuinely very caring and maternal. And I can see her being one of those people who has wanted kids since she was really little.
Aang obviously wants kids, if only for the reason that he feels the crushing obligation of rebuilding the air nation, but he also learns responsibility very quickly and was amazing with children from episode one
Sokka is just so dad. He was the “father figure” for the gaang pretty much until Zuko came along. It’s so obvious and cute how they all look up to him. He also tries to be authoritative with the water tribe children but he folds so easily around them. And let’s not forget how he was the one who was taking care of Mai’s little brother (seemingly willingly)
As for the others
Toph had kids in canon, but she obviously was never the type of person who ever thought about having kids. I won’t go as far as to say Lin and Su were “accidents”, but she never had a good role model for parenting. I feel like she’d try to base her parenting off of Aang and Katara, but that just isn’t who she is at her core. And she knows that because she’s self aware, but also can’t find it in herself to change.
Azula I feel like would want kids in theory, but be too terrified that she’d pass down trauma, or turn into an abusive perfection-demanding parent like her dad was, or neglectful like she perceived her mom to be.
Zuko is kind of the same. He knows he should carry on the royal bloodline. But with already being Fire Lord and at such a young age he is terrified of becoming his father. He constantly has to remind himself that he is not Ozai, and he has to do this his entire life.
Mai I feel like doesn’t want children for less personal reasons. She feels like she can’t be as emotionally available as she knows a child needs (bc that’s what she needed but didn’t receive), but even more than that. She refuses to bring a child in to a post war-torn world that is basically dangling on the precipice of falling back into chaos
Ty Lee I feel like is just genuinely the vodka aunt. She doesn’t want to be tied down by her own children but she loves everyone else’s. She travels the world and comes back every few months to feed them all too much sugar and shower them with gifts. She’s all of the kids favorite aunt, and by extension- the parents worst nightmare (they secretly love it though)

Ahhh!! I’ve just been thinking about a Mowglie!Spider AU for so long now!!! I’d love to hear more about it if you have any more ideas. What was it like being raised by animals and Eywa?
I’m so glad you liked it/ asked !!!❤️❤️
Okay so, as for what it was like being raised by Eywa / animals of Pandora:
Spider is definitely big on community since was raised almost collectively if that makes sense? So like every animal would show him things that are more specific to them
EG: the Prolemuris or the Syaksyuk (the blue monkey things from the fisr movie) would have been the animals that taught Spider how to be a better climber, like how to find those invisible grips and how to swing from branches.
or like Direhorses / Pa’il would show him how to control his breathing better so that he could run more
(Granted all these lessons would need a lot of patience as they can’t used words)
But I think his primary caregiver/ closest thing to a physical parent would be the Thanator mother and her cub. (I see them as only normally having one or two cubs who they stay with untill they are in their adult hood. So they’re very protective of their territory/nests and will react violently to any perceived threat)
She’s the one who raised him while he was still a baby. She’s the one he’ll go to at night to sleep with because he feels the safest around her. He definitely takes on more of her animalistic characteristics because of that.
His upbringing was definitely difficult, more so when he was still a baby and couldn’t really communicate at all. A lot of it was trial and error.
I also think his Thanator mum barely stands it when he’s with other animals but she knows he’ll come back/ there are things she can’t teach him.
They are very protective of their young and it’s really difficult for them when they can’t see their child at all times
Spider doesn’t tend to speak much (the only language he does speak is Na’vi) bc the only time he has to do it is when he’s communing with Eywa and the ancestors so I think he’d be more inclined to using animal noises
I think he would adapt the various noises he uses depending on the animal he’s with, but it always tends to lean closer to the thanator (like a child learning their parents accent)
I also decree that Spider can replicate these noise perfectly because come on, he was raised around them & he’s Eywa’s special little guy
He’s defo a messy eater (I already said this but, he’s really really messy), he spends the first few years just eating meat raw because he wouldn’t have been introduced to fire (this doesn’t make him overly sick, it just doesn’t taste as good)
He probably only learned how to make fire because Eywa refused to let him disconnect from the spirit tree without him taking on and learning how to cook his damn food
Eywa defiantly took a far more active role in his upbringing, especially when he was a baby.
EG: she’d use the Atokirina to guide him around after he’d learned to walk, to help him find his way back if he ever got lost, lead him away from danger before he ever knew he was in it.
When he would cry uncontrollably as a baby the Atokirina would enable him to feel her presence more closely and it would be very comforting (something his Thanator mum was very thankful for) (he also learned to feel her just as closely without their help once he got older)
I don’t think he’s really aware of how significant his connection with Eywa is (despite how blatantly obvious it is to literally anyone else)
Bc the animals are obviously very closely connected with her, but they can’t tell him that what he feels isn’t the norm
His sense of fear is definitely not where it really should be because he has absolutely no problem going to places / doing things that would give others heart attacks because of how much he can feel eywa
EG: if he’s diving off large waterfalls into the water below, he’ll keep going until he climbs too high and feels this sense of danger/displeasure and he knows Eywa doesn’t want him to do that because it isn’t safe
Or if he’s not sure if something is safe to eat (probably human food) he’ll wait to see if he either gets a warm sensation in his stomach or like a quick jolt of discomfort
But this also means that when he can’t feel her (like being in the human base) sends in into panic, it’s like suddenly losing one of you important senses with no warning
I think he’d play around with other animals a lot and some of them would treat him like their own young
Eg: Ikran would nip at him like they do to their little ones to get them to try and bite back/just to play with them.
He also try’s to be independent and since he’s a kid he sometimes won’t heed Eywa’s warning
I’m sorry by having an almost teen rebellion against the literal god / planet is just the funniest thing to me 😂
Fan lizards love him but definitely hold a grudge against him 😂
You can’t tell me he wouldn’t have had fun running around annoying them as a little kid (he still does it now)
Very much into roughhousing because that’s how he played with his Thanator sibling.
He also only learned about modesty from they other Na’vi through the spirit tree / seeing some humans from a distance but not understand a thing about them
Also Eywa makes it very clear to him he needs to wear pants
Spider has never interact with a human, he actively avoided them throughout his early childhood
Like he just thinks they are the weirdest creatures ever with how out of place they look 😂
He also doesn’t like getting close to hells gate because the closer he gets to the building, the quieter Eywa gets and he absolutely hates that!
He’s never interacted with a na’vi / seen them up close but he’s more open to the idea than he is about humans
I’m not entirely sure if he can actually hear Eywa speak (if he can it’s only when he’s connected), but he can definitely feel her embrace him / feel her in the world around him. He also definitely feels her / views her as a mother in a more literal sense (something she’s happy with bc that’s her fearless and feral little boy)
Okay so for more general ideas / plot-ish ideas :
Kiri is the first Na’vi he’s seen up close and it was entirely by accident 😂
She probably tried to talk to him in English but he didn’t understand a word she said, so he tries his broken Na’vi (think small child who doesn’t talk much, not great at putting sentences together, but good enough that you get what he means)
Kiri & Spider send a few days bonding
When Kiri tells her family about the human boy none of them really believe her (they don’t call her crazy…..but they basically call her crazy👀)
They just assume she’s imagining him / it’s all a dream she keeps having
Kirk has enough of that bullshit and literally drags him kicking and screaming right into the middle of high camp just to prove her point😂 like “SEE! I’m not crazy!”
Pandemonium ensues 😂😭
Spider loses his mind
Lo’ak and Neteyam lose their minds
Tuk is just excited
Jakes brain breaks
Norm has his brain explode with science
Neytiri gets a headache
Mo’at is very intrigued
I think the scientists would be really interested in him but because of his distrust only Norm can get close when he’s in his avatar body (bc Jake & Kiri vouched for him personally, and their interactions are always outside at first after the chaos that was trying to get him inside)
I think people would be shocked at seeing Spider just doing his thing, and Norm desperately wants to know absolutely everything
I’m also going by the movies so he’s the only human (as close to human) child to have been born on Pandora because the scientists weren’t all that interested in baby making.
Spider does eventually start liking Norm because he takes way to much joy in teasing him with his animal noises/ he likes how important he feels when Norm gets all excited about the things he can do…..even if it is just him breathing
I don’t think he’d be a fan of people speaking English around him for a while because he doesn’t know how to speak it & doesn’t like that he can understand them
He’s a fast learner & Kiri is a great teacher and Tuk is her amazing helpers so he learns to speak in better sentences (even if he thinks the word use is excessive and will get sulky after a while if they keep correcting him when he doesn’t think he’s wrong) (Lo’ak finds it hilarious)
He really likes Jake because he can feels Eywa around him and makes him interested in him (different to how he feels Eywa around Kiri)
I can definitely see him and Kiri teaching each other how they experience Eywa
I absolutely see him totally unnerving jake by just quietly staring at him without blinking (everyone else finds it hilarious to see Jake get so weirded out 😂😂)
Neytiri would probably be far more accepting of him after a while & he definitely becomes some she’s begrudgingly fond of in the beginning, but eventually turns into full protective loving mama (because I’m a sucker for mama Neytiri)
Having Neytiri as his mother would definitely feel very different to Eywa/Thanator but in a very pleasant way, like she can actually hold him in her arms and speak a language he can easily understand (he still loves his other mama’s tho)
This is getting long so I’m going to leave it there 😅
I really like this au! Im interested in knowing what you guys think and I look forward to seeing how it will develop ❤️❤️
Thank you for reading & I hope you enjoyed ❤️

oh my god…. prince……. you can’t do this to me. you’re saying next fic has vox getting fucked, focuses on vox’s transness (AH), AND ALSO HES ON THE OFF SEE SAW OF HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH VAL?????? ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL MEE?!!?!!????? I THINK I MIGHT ACTUALLY COMBUST. and bc another anon asked abt how alastor views the violence in voxval’s relationship, i have Another thought on the matter. as much as alastor looks down on vox, they can be Very similar sometimes. they are both egomaniacs and very prideful. i don’t think vox, without outside interference, would ever ADMIT that the violence he faces is 1) something he truly hates AND 2) out of his control. he can’t admit he hates it, because then why isn’t he stopping it? that would be admitting to not being powerful enough or strong enough. and hello, 50’s toxic masculinity coming through, he CANT be a victim of domestic violence. he’s a powerful, rich, and important man. it all comes down to perceived weakness. so, the solution is to pretend he’s mostly fine with it. sure, he can act disgruntled and upset in the moment, but i don’t think he’d ever let himself take it seriously. because then he has to start drawing lines in the sand, and what happens then? will val look down on him? will he lose val? yeah, he is not risking that over a problem he mostly refuses to acknowledge exists. and as you said, this is all happening in the setting of hell, where ultra violence IS the norm, and vox himself is excessively violent. it’s the most delicious 50 layer cake of fucked up-ness.
RANT ASIDE THO. i have a question. 2. do you ever plan on having vox interact with the hotel crew outside of angel? ANDDDD what would charlie’s reaction be to their friendship/situationship/ kinda love affair. i think she could add SOOOOO much hilarity and Intense Emotions to this series. not that the boys haven’t been doing their part in that so far. charlie just intensifies everything she does, god bless her. -🌓
The "getting fucked" bit and the trans conversation bit are directly related to and relevant to each other, and frankly I'm just very happy to be out here writing the specific flavors of deeply queer shenanigans that I'm writing, and to have people actively enjoy that. It genuinely means a lot to me that I've strayed so goddamn far out of the bounds of good old top/bottom yaoi archetypes that introduced me to fandom and yet have a wildly enthusiastic audience nonetheless. So, that was my long way of saying that you bring me a lot of fucking joy, anon, hahaha.
As for everything you're saying about Vox, power, and masculinity: YOU! points dramatically at you YOU GET IT! YOU GET IT!!!!!! Everyone just read this, this is it, this is the thing. I have no notes to add. There is a reason that the main point he raises the moment he actually says something vulnerable about it (before he immediately cuts himself off) is a complaint that he's an overlord, so why—?
And with regards to your questions: I'm not gonna lie, my actual planning for 666 is usually, like, extremely by the seat of my pants. I plan nothing except, "Oh, shit, had an idea for the next one. Lesgoooo—" and that's been the case for literally every single installment. It's all just been evolving naturally and building on top of itself. So! I can't say that I plan to have Vox interact with the hotel crew or Charlie, but I also will never say that I'm actively opposed to it.
That said, I do think a lot of this fic is kinda structured around hitting specific topics that come up in intimate settings between Vox and Alastor specifically, with occasional tag-ins from Angel Dust, so I don't really know if there's anything in particular I'd like to write that I think would work better in this series if more characters got involved. But, hey! Never say never!

more dp x pkmn doodles (it’s free serotonin) this time with valerie!!
rambling about her team under the cut:
Valerie’s pokemon were difficult to choose… I wanted her to have a relatively uncommon fire or fighting type for her bc because 1. I just think those types fit her, and 2. she used to be a spoiled rich kid, so i doubt she’d accept just any old pokemon for her partner.
Litleo:
chosen as her starter for its fierce personality and also bc its normal typing coincidentally gives it immunity to ghost types.
Probably lazy 90% of the time but gets super aggressive when challenged. It isn’t very interested in ghost hunting unless its perceived territory (the apartment, school, and/or nasty burger) is under attack.
Maybe has a personal grudge against Cujo? (havent decided on a pkmn for him yet tho...)
The other option for her starter was Vulpix bc its evolution is characterized as “spiteful”, which i think matches her pretty well lol. Some of the fire starters would be… okay for her, but I wasn’t a fan of any of their final evos.
Riolu:
baby pokemon gifted by Vlad. Perfect IVs/EVs, trained with dark-type TMs, has Foresight to negate ghost immunity, yada yada. It’s been raised from birth to be Valerie’s ghost hunting partner and doesn’t know much else about the world.
As Riolu grows older and its ability to sense aura/emotions increases, it begins to doubt its training, leading to it refusing to hunt Phantom because it knows that he can’t possibly be evil. (This attitude gradually spreads towards other ghosts as well, but Phantom is the trigger. Alternatively, maybe Ellie is involved somehow?)
Riolu and Val get into a big fight over it and Riolu runs away, forcing Valerie to confront her grudge against ghosts or risk losing her partner forever.
Riolu’s admittedly a bit of an odd choice for ghost hunting since it doesnt have type advantage, but I’ve grown quite attached to the idea of Riolu/Lucario’s innate sense of justice coming to a head with Valerie’s quest for vengeance. And also Vlad not thinking his plan through by gifting her a pkmn known to detect ill intent is very funny to me… like why didnt u give her a pawniard or scizor or smthn?? congrats u played urself
Riolu has no idea half-ghosts exist btw! Vlad kept it in the dark so it wouldn’t turn on him or reveal his identity. it suspects SOMETHING is up with danny though, which leads to some awkward staredowns at school. (also going by pkmn game logic: riolu can’t see through illusions without attacking first, so danny’s hisuian zorua is safe so long as it assumes another form)
im trying to avoid giving out too many shinies but shiny riolu just fits val’s color scheme sooooo much better. lets just say vlad wanted to show off REALLY hard that day, ok? being one of the few ppl in school with a shiny poke would make her less unpopular than she is in canon, but she still doesn’t rejoin the A-lister crowd.
riolu being so recognizable does mean it has to wear a disguise when ghost hunting tho (which makes my red huntress sketch non-canon lmao). it either wears a mini huntress suit or just a black cloak!

Hanahaki Percico but the idea is that love, whilst mutual, needs go be perceived by the receiver to be called ‘love’.
So like. Nico develops hanahaki due to his unrequited crush on Percy, who later realizes his feelings for whatever reason idk. Now they’re together. However, the flowers don’t stop growing.
They do not stop growing, festering, blooming, no matter how many times Percy say “I love you”s to Nico.
Because in Nico’s mind, due to the excessive traumas and various rocky steps in their relationship, the thought has been ingrained that he would never have love from Percy - that this is just a short-lived daydream which’s expected to end, or it’s just Percy’s pity/ guilt for him after everything he’s been through. He subconsciously refuses ro believe that Percy would love him the way he loves Percy.
Their feelings never meet. No matter how hard Percy try. Because Nico can’t bring himself to believe.
So Nico dies, despite the love is in fact mutual, despite Percy’s efforts and sacrifices. There’s no miracle whatsoever bc i don’t allow it sometimes what you call love isn’t love in the other’s eyes.
And also yeah bc i refuse to let the wounds heal. Sue me.

John Loves You AU notes
So I'm awake now and I've been seeing this Swap AU concept everywhere, so naturally, I wanted to contribute by bringing my own little interpretation of things to the table ❤️
Big credit to @zzoupz and @salmonandsoup bc they formed the basis for a lot of these ideas and I just wanted to build on some of the concepts bc they are insanely cool and inspiring ✨
John Ward - Charismatic, well-spoken, manipulative, but quite spineless and cowardly otherwise, John is a priest who can’t help but look at the world with scorn. He is of the belief that humanity is irredeemable in its current state. That no amount of prayer and penance can save mankind now. The only way for there to be salvation is for the world to effectively be “reset” by God once more. Much like Noah and his Ark, John feels that it is his mission to gather all those that are still able to be saved and are destined for the new world. Once he has gathered them all in his temple, The Ark, he intends to initiate a ceremony to unleash a “flood of angels” into the world. He believes that God will not be able to ignore such a sign and will “wipe the slate clean,” after which he and his followers will emerge in a new Eden and rebuild the world as God intended. Also, he wields a dagger in the shape of a cross (because that idea is cool as hell and I’m obsessed with it.) His cult features iconography of hoofed animals, especially lambs, goats, and deer.
Lisa Pearson - John’s right-hand woman and chosen “vessel.” If he is Joseph, then she is the Mother Mary of the Cult of the Ark. Having known John since childhood, she had no reason not to trust him when he told her the world would soon end and that he needed her help, especially when he was inaugurated as a priest and claimed: “it was God’s will.” She trusts John wholeheartedly to protect her and save her soul. She is loyal to him and utterly adores him, and she will stubbornly deny that she is with him against her will. She genuinely loves John, and she’s very kind and sweet, and non-hostile, unlike John and the rest of the cult. One should tread lightly though, as she is very perceptive, and she is very much a tattle-tail. Any perceived threat she sees will immediately be reported, and John will respond with full force to defend her. Even if that means having to stab someone himself. She helps John run the abortion clinic and harvest “young, pure souls” to use as messengers to God.
Father Garcia - Garcia is considered the guardian of John’s flock. He’s referred to as the Shepherd by John’s followers, the Angel by John himself, and the Reaper by all outsiders that try to lead his lambs astray. A senior priest, John took advantage of him during the lowest point in his life after the death of his wife. He deceived a grieving Garcia into believing that he could find peace again or perhaps even see her when the world was reborn into a new Eden, and all he had to do was play the role of Shepherd for his flock of chosen ones. Garcia was all too happy to accept in his desperation to find purpose and faith again, gladly taking up arms and fiercely defending John and his cult. He’s a stern, stubborn old man who has bought completely into John’s rhetoric and cannot be swayed, for he has nothing left to lose. He’s former military and he speaks candidly of how he served in Vietnam in particular. He’s also a hunting enthusiast, so he knows his way around traps and guns and will use this knowledge to keep outsiders at bay.
Amy Martin - Displaced just before she turned 18, Amy ended up being taken in by Miriam. Her family and she frequently got into arguments and fights about the fact she worked at an abortion clinic. Her parents threatened to throw her out so Amy went a step ahead and left on her own after they tried placing nonsensical rules and restrictions on her. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as Amy’s family became the first victims of John and his cult after they refused to join his cause. He believed they would be easy to indoctrinate on account of their grief over their lost twins but they resisted. As such, he ended up having them killed and used their corpses as part of a summoning ritual for some “angels.” Amy never learned the truth past the fact that her family was murdered. She’s furious and bitter and demands to be included in Gary’s mission to take down the cult.
Michael Davies - Left in the care of Father Garcia by a family who mistook his albinism for demonic possession, when Garcia joined the cult he brought Michael with him. Michael was originally planned to be used as a vessel; “a mouthpiece for God.” (Aka, he was going to be possessed by a demon.) Somehow, he managed to escape and was offered sanctuary by Miriam until Gary could properly exorcise him. Unfortunately, Gary was unable to do so and Michael ended up escaping their care. Now, Gary’s mission is to find him, free his soul, and destroy John’s cult before they find him first and unknowingly complete the ritual that will open the world to a flood of demons.
Tiffany Robinson - Tiffany is Gary's childhood friend. She was often the only one who stood beside him when others picked on him for his status as a bastard child. As they got older, they stayed very close despite their significant differences. While Gary went on to become a preacher, Tiffany leaned more into news reporting and writing in general and adopted an agnostic mindset. They still spend a lot of time together and she volunteers herself up as his assistant who takes notes for him and helps him edit and practice his sermons while joking around with him.
Gary Miller - Gary is a preacher, albeit not an overly religious one. He takes a more loose and accepting interpretation of the Bible, focusing less on God and more on the stories, encouraging community support and acceptance. His heart is in the right place, but he tends to come off as very cynical and critical of the Church as an organization and holds a bitterness towards established religion due to the way it was shoved down his throat as a child. He’s got a small but devoted following, despite his opinions being unpopular with most. When he’s not at an altar, he’s usually volunteering in the local community. He uses a cane (with a sword in it bc like I said before, I’m OBSESSED with the concept) to get around. While he’s mostly healthy, old age has caught up with him a bit and his left knee is in a sore state on account of an incident with some other kids in his youth that left it damaged. He’s kind, charismatic, a bit snarky and sarcastic with his humor, but overall well-mannered and good-natured.
Miriam Bell - Miriam was a devoted nun for decades before she had Gary. He was an unplanned child for obvious reasons and seeing as termination wasn’t an option (and she would have just been further ostracized for it), she was excommunicated from her church as a nun. This didn’t stop her from loving Gary with all her heart, nor did it stop her from attending a different church with her boy despite the constant rumors and nasty comments about her situation. She was the one who taught him to judge less and be more kind and tolerant. Her only regret is not doing more to protect him from the constant badgering from others who knew he was born out of wedlock. She’s a loving, protective figure in her greater general community and is a bit of a mama bear to all the kids. If you walk into her house, you will notice a lot of handmade dolls, a lot of old jewelry, and a lot of swords to go with the homemade cooking. She teaches self-defense classes on the side, and she still spoils her adult son.
Alu, Roger, Jefferey, Malphas - All powerful demons conjured from Hell to usher in chaos and the end of days, John believes them to be nothing more than angels. He’s summoned them under the thought that they will get God’s attention and serve as witnesses and testimonies as to why the earth should be flooded and purged once more. Tricksters that they are, they are more than happy to go along with his delusions and make demands for “evidence” in the form of sacrifices and ceremonies. He doesn’t realize that they’re not angels, and they’re just fine with that fact.

GOING IN TEH ASKBOX TO BYPASS CHARACTER LIMITZ SORRY FOR INCOMING ESSAYZ
OKAY SO POINT 1 I think teh fact that Reigen is inspired by Mogami is SO interesting especially bc in 7th Div reigen is shocked to see psychics that aren’t Mob. I don’t know if hez just surprised that derez other people with Telekinesis powerz and not just spiritual stuff or if he thought Mogami was just a showman but it’d be rlly funny and interesting if itz teh latter . Reigen thinking that Mogami was also a fraud but a very talented dedicated one and maybe idolizing it th way you might idolize liek an actor in a movie . I imagine th details of Mogamis suicide are very unknown to th public since he kept so much hidden in his final years so all most people including Reigen really know is ‘mogamis mother died, mogami disappeared from the public eye, and some time later he killed himself’ . Reigen doesn’t I imagine know Any of th in depth bullshit but could at least extrapolate that th media and paparazzi were not kind about his mothers condition or his mental health . so during Separation Arc when reigen himself is experiencing th nightmare dimension and feeling like extremely alone falling into that swirling vortex he remembers mogami (moth imagery in teh alleyway baby!) and is liek Oh my god I can’t end up someone like that I have to make something of myself . But ends up just getting caught up in th vicious media cycle in an entirely different way though hez able to do what Mogami didn’t and call out to someone . something about fighting vicious cycles by being willing to swallow your pride and ask for help .
SECOND POINT I go back and forth on dis ! see in th manga it is very explicit that Mob has no one at home whatsoever but th anime seems more vague about it? we still don’t see his parentz but itz much less upfront about ‘mob has literally no one at home’ and I sometimes interpret it as liek . he is so lost in his own misery and wallowing that he doesn’t even interact with his family or process deir existence . and how falling into that pit of misery can hurt otherz around you as well as he just becomes so entrenched that it seems like he simply has no family . he has a brother but dey don’t talk , so ritsu doesn’t bother intervening with bullies , dey have no bond . he goes home to his parents’ house but goes straight to his room because he has no energy at all . I like dis interpretation bc it plays into Mogami only changing th bare minimum to make th point of ‘this could happen to you’ to Mob . BUT ive also seen it positioned as like . th idea that that level of depression and suffering can almost become absurd to th sufferer , so it makes sense for what is essentially a torture dimension like Mogamiland to take that literally and perform th absurdity of actually removing his family relations altogether . while I generally perceive Mogamiland as more down to earth (relatively speaking, it is still cartoonishly miserable bc even though th bad things aren’t unrealistic all joy and good has been surgically removed) th idea that Mob quite literally goes home to an empty house because hes reached an absurd level of suffering , th same as how Mogami refused to reach out to anyone or seek any help and instead chose to rot alone in his house (something its hard to be angry at him or blame him for but that hes still like, complicit in, if that makes sense?) with no one else . reflecting how deeply unrealistic th mentalities you develop at that low of a point are , Mogamiland itself becomes absurd and bends logic to keep Mob trapped and too miserable to question it . if itz th latter case of Literally No One i imagine th absurdity rules help tether reality together . he can function on school lunches because miserable people may eat very little , his house is empty and cold and unpleasant but it stands and functions , because those are th bare minimum things needed to survive (all that Mob is doing) and to keep th illusion that he can have nothing better until he breaks .
POINT 3 OH YOUVE ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD (RIPS OFF SHIRT TO REVEAL CHEST TATTOOS THAT SAY NUMBER 1 MINORI ASAGIRI FAN) (AND ALSO A MAJOR MOGAMI FAN BUT MINORI FIRST)
Minori I imagine is like . Considerably worse off mentally den Mob right after th arc . Mob is obviously pretty fucked up by 6 months of hell but in typical Mob fashion is able to repress that pretty handily up until confession arc when Everything is opened up by force . it’ll be on his list of things to discuss in therapy for sure lmao . but largely hes good at repressing and also part of th moral of th Mogami arc is that wallowing in your own misery does you no good so he wants to live best foot forward . Minori does too i think , because she wants to change , but I think it’s a lot harder for her . shez lived on her perch of untouchable popular girl for a While , and even if she was acutely aware that things would Not Be Good if someone else rose above her , all she had to do was stomp down any threat effectively enough . between that and just being a teenager who has had a good life itz extremely hard for her to process such an extreme terrible theft of control from her . her body was puppeted , used to lie about and severely injure her father and many others , and she was used as a scapegoat , her actions in Mogamiland were things she really would do but it still must be frightening to be trapped in your own mind especially once Mob snaps and she realizes Oh . That’s what this exists for . To kill me . Mogamiland is a conveyer belt with Minori’s death at th end , that is Mogamis ultimate goal to make Mob change and see his point of view . so not only does she know that she barely escaped th slaughterhouse but she also knows she horribly tortured th guy who was strong and kind enough to save her even after all she did . bc it would be easy for a lesser story to have Minori scared straight , and i do think she does become very paranoid , but th primary reason she changes is because Mob made her want to be better , he made her want to be as courageous as he was . I think post-Mogamiland she is very physically and mentally fucked up but intent on Being Better TM but she doesn’t fully know what that means yet , doesn’t know how to unravel social standards she carefully built up herself or not just be forgiven because people are scared of her . I think she struggles really hard w learning to be kind and develops a lot of moral obsessions , getting really really upset and angry at herself if she so much as Thinks something bad bc thats proof she hasn’t changed and that th evil spirit is going to come break her fingers again . learning to actually be better without wanting to actively die every time she does something mean is a long process she has to work through but I think itz one she does work through w her dads help . I like th HC that she gets into crafting and that slowly leads into being able to care about more and more living things . her big stupid idiot cat she got that she threatens to sell to th circus while giving it treats even if it is icky . very fucked up girl trying her best , I think she reaches out to Mob eventually and dey get together for lunch or something every month or two . casual friends , derez an underlying sting of trauma for both , but friends nonetheless who are happy to see each other getting better . Mob says she should move closer to Seasoning City one day and shes like ‘do you even realize how many city destroying events there have been in the past 3 months alone. no.’ she and teru would be CRAZY gossip buddies lmao
MOGAMI……….i know hes in that damn jar . dis ask is getting looooong so I don’t wanna linger on him too long but I imagine he and Matsuo have an extremely tense dynamic up until th jar is broken in WD arc , and Mogami wanders for a few days before actually deciding to track down Matsuo again . unbearable as he finds him , Matsuo walks a line between human and spirit that not many people do , and is one of th only people that talks to him up front to his face because he too has experienced being thrown aggressively off his high horse . I think dey have a weird gay thing but either way I think dey definitely stick together bc dey both come to realize that dere Are other people in th world capable of understanding dem . Mogami is perpetually kinda fucked up but I think Mob changed him at least a little . enough to have let Minegishi go in WD arc and accept that maybe someone Can change sometimes .
hi . Mogami arc is my favorite arc
I'M ABOUT TO GO BATSHIT INSANE OH MY GOD
just in case lemme just. put this under the cut
OK OK in 7th div i think what shocks Reigen more is the fact that there are adult psychics? or rather. a lot of adult psychics LMAO he asks Ritsu earlier if he can help out at the office so i Think he knows other psychics exist (but he probably wouldnt guess they're all somehow miraculously concentrated in seasoning city AJHSDGHGHEGFGH) but with Mogami in particular, I'd like to think in his younger years he fully believed it all, going on spirit hunts of his own, but as he grew he'd think "yeah its all a scam" bc of his own scammery until Mogami arc throws it all into question. BUT APART FROM THAT. YOUR MIND. YOUR BRAIN. THE COMPARISON OF SEPARATION ARC AND MOGAMI'S STORY IS SOMETHING I HADNT THOUGHT OF BEYOND JUST THE MEDIA HOLY SHIT. oh my god knowing Reigen and his random knowledge on every little subject i feel like hes the type of guy to go on google rabbit holes and after Mogami arc that would reawaken his curiosity in the guy and later during separation arc he's thinking "i cant let myself get to that level, i have to become someone" AUGH I LOVE THE WAY THOSE TWO ARCS INTERTWINE. something something Reigen having some kind of support to reach out to but Mogami being utterly alone,,. but yah i think its so funny to imagine that Reigen Just picked up a lot of the showmanship from Mogami and didn't think the guy was legitimate ASDJHGEFGH.
THIS REAWAKENED MY FIRST INTERPRETATION OF MOGAMILAND WAIT ID COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN UNTIL NOW after I watched it for the first time I assumed that Mob's parents (or possibly just One of his parents) were in a state similar to Mogami's mother, and thats why they arent present and now i'm thinking thats a bit of an inbetween point, in that its something that could be a reality but its also Mogami's view of a cold, hard world to live in. I'd like to think that the behavior of all the other people in Mogamiland is how Mogami imagines they'd act, because of how vicious and horrible he views humanity, not the way those same people in reality would truly react. Like enforcing his view of the world onto Mob is his point, so the world acts and behaves the way Mogami believes it to? Any absurdities (like living off school lunches alone) are what I'd call gaps in the cognitive world, because id say its gotta be pretty hard to make a perfect recreation of reality without both unconscious bias and mentally skipping over forgotten details?? Apart from that, I definitely prefer the interpretation that Ritsu is still Mob's brother in Mogamiland, but they're distant, because it reenforces how Mogami really had nobody to reach out to, especially not his family. ANYWHO. idk how to wrap this point up into a neat bow so just take my ramble
SOMETHING ALSO ABOUT MOB AND MINORI RECOVERING FROM MOGAMI ARC is that he remembers he has people who care about him there, and he resolves to appreciate them more than ever before (and then the wounds are reopened in separation arc etc etc) but Minori doesn't really have anyone she could connect the experience to? I feel like the friends she has are. likely not the best, and she's absolutely been horrible to people outside of Mob. So while she wants to better herself for Mob's sake, bc of the kid who saved her damn life from some incomprehensible evil spirit who'd puppeteered her, I'd think her initial instinct would still be to prevent herself from falling to the same position her victims were in. The same courage Mob had needs to be built up, she learns over time to lower her defenses of her status and maybe in some way stand up for others (though bc of her trauma with losing autonomy, i dont think she'd be to open with any kindness at first in fear of losing the position she has). Her pedestal is already crumbling with the rumors of her being absent (popular girl who rules the school "getting sent to the psych ward" would get her looks and whispers in the hallway) and that definitely doesn't help her after having been used as a puppet. She'd definitely grow out of it though, through feeling her way through having autonomy back and to slowly unravel the hierarchy she'd built herself into. AND AUHGHRFGH. not to be insane again but TTTAAAC made me appreciate Minori SO MUCH MORE bc of her role. her getting into crafts and having a cat?? after it all??? AFHGFHGRHGR. i need to see more of her and the rest of the cast, she and Teru would be buddies and i KNOW IT!! not enough Minori content in the world i need to get on that
MATSUGAMI IS REALLY FUNNY TO ME SOMETIMES guy fascinated with evil spirits x the one evil spirit you should Not fuck with. Matsuo definitely has smth to say about sprits still having lots to learn in their afterlife, he's probably seen spirits from all walks of life and how they eventually move on. Mogami probably chills out a little from the bone-chilling monstrosity he is in his arc, maybe a little reflection would do him good. Sitting in that bottle definitely makes him think about things (gee maybe i shouldn't have put those kids in a hell dimension for 6 months. but then again theyre in middle school what do i know/j)
SORRY IM NOT. THE BEST AT ARTICULATING THOUGHTS BUT I ALWAYS APPRICIATE AN ESSAY IN MY ASKS

hey jude. I was wondering if I could get some bcs thots regarding Kim. I've tried to understand this character before but I always seem to hit a wall. The others I intuitively perceive their motivations and sense of the character, but I just end up going in circles with kim. I can't get a handle on her temperament, or understand her reasoning beyond a surface level. Do you have any Kim insights that can help? ty!
I feel like this ask could have been written by most of the characters that Kim interacts with. Howard and Rich Schweikart and Suzanne Ericsen and Kevin Wachtell be like, I can’t understand Kim’s temperament or motivations!
Not every character on this show is in the habit of giving long expository monologues, but Kim in particular has LOTS of scenes where she is deliberately keeping quiet, saying nothing, revealing nothing. Think of the scene where Chuck tells her about Jimmy’s stealing, for example, or her interview at Schweikart & Cokely, or when that one judge just conversationally was like “Hurt your arm?” and she was like “Yes. 🗿” Or when this tendency was heightened almost to parody in 609 when she had to be pushed and pushed and pushed to reveal to the judge that she had already resigned from the bar—I could go on.
Her silence itself reveals temperament and motivation: she has a very strong protective instinct, and is very defensive of both herself and the people she cares about. “Loose lips sink ships”-type deal. In her flashbacks with her mom, Kim shows that same defensive instinct in actions rather than words by refusing to get in the car with her mom who’s been drinking. And of course, you have basically Everything that Ever happens between her and Jimmy—defending him against Howard in 109 (also trying to shield him from finding out the truth about Chuck in the same episode), defending him throughout season 2, staying silent instead of revealing that he lied about the Mesa Verde commercial, staying silent while Chuck gives his long spiel, casting doubt on Chuck’s allegations against him when she knows them to be true, defending him (literally) in court in 304 and 305… again, I could go on, but I would just be recapping the events of the entire show.
When Kim takes that turn at the end of season five, a lot of fans were confused by it, and while Kim Understanders may boast a complete lack of shock, I think there is a change evident in her. The question is, what kind of change?
Is it merely bad writing, a forced reversal driven by plot wants rather than character needs?
Is it evidence of Jimmy’s corrupting influence on her, taking a previously moral person and turning her amoral?
Is it evidence of a deep hidden evil coming to the surface?
Or is it an evolving manifestation of the same traits Kim has always exhibited?
Looking at Kim’s defensive and protective instincts more closely, we can see that it’s not just that she wants to always do the safe thing forever. She is willing to take risks if a couple conditions are satisfied:
The end is at least acceptable (e.g. Mesa Verde getting a larger branch approved, from which nobody is likely to really suffer), and ideally righteous (e.g. the Kettlemans being forced to pay back their victims and being too scared to scam again).
She’s in on it.
That’s why she was on board for the entire Mr. Acker scheme and then furious when Jimmy went ahead with it without her approval. The first condition was satisfied (“Everybody wins!”) but the second was not.
When she comes up with the idea to scam Howard, both conditions are satisfied—the residents of Sandpiper Crossing will get their money faster, everyone involved with the case still gets paid, and when Jimmy gets paid, they will use that money to help more people. And she’s in on it.
She consistently wants to satisfy both of those two conditions, and those two conditions satisfy her basic instincts. Acting righteously (in a sort of utilitarian sense) satisfies her instinct to protect the people she cares about—because she does deeply care about the people she works for, and is clearly trying both before 607 and after (when she goes to the legal aid clinic to volunteer) to dedicate her life to them. And being in on it satisfies her defensive, self-protective instinct. When things are good between her and Jimmy and everything is going right, it’s like they have an invisible force field around them. No one else can see it, “nobody knows what we’re doing but us”—in that way it offers a level of safety far above and beyond that of, say, Jimmy’s dad, who acts righteously but also plays everything above board and ends up getting fucked over as a result.
Anyway,

is it just me or is there a universal law that states every Sebastian Stan Movie Wig has to be tragic and troublesome 😫
my head canon is that his natural hair is just so absolutely perfect that even the highest quality wig will not blend seamlessly and it generally refuses to be tamed. it drives the hair stylists mad but they can’t be upset with him because he is the cutest and probably brings them little treats (tm). for a long time he thought there was something *problematic* about his hair but then a stylist told him that actually his hair was a nightmare to work with bc it demands to be perceived in its natural state as there is no match for that degree of beautiful. now he gets all shy and self-depreciating and shit when getting his hair styled esp. if getting a wig of some sort.
it becomes common-industry-stylist-knowledge and now everyone wants to style the cute boy with the perfect hair.
related to this (sort of, lol)
Aww, I love this head canon! I also will now be adopting it. I don't think he's always had the worst wigs, but, yeah, some of them have been rough for budget reasons or... Yes! His hair! It's too good!
Tumblr media
How could this guy not be the cutest thing you've ever seen? How could you not think that hair is gorgeous?
It's impossible!

i understand if you don't feel like continuing this convo so feel free to ignore this if you're not in the mood but. i have to say i'm kind of floored by that one anon wondering why claudia didn't leave during those 6 years. because she wanted to be with louis! she didn't want to be alone, she was never planning on going alone, she was dreaming of taking that trip together with louis. going alone would be lonely and scary and difficult. louis wanted to live in nola so she stayed with him, hoping he would agree to go someday. then lestat came back into the picture. being around lestat is agitating for her, it's already a big sacrifice to have to live in the same house with him but she agrees to try. expecting her to act polite about it is kind of a big ask. and maybe she was just waiting for lestat to show his ass, is that so bad? she's literally proven right! lestat never had any intention of honoring the agreement they made, he lied about killing antoinette so it's logical to think his tragic backstory was a lie too. it's perfectly reasonable for claudia to hope that louis would eventually see the light and leave him. louis nagged her for not trying enough but when she proves lestat wasn't trying either he says he isn't even gonna confront him about it. i love louis and i know why he does what he does but this is all a goddamn nightmare for claudia. "he chose you over me." he chooses the person who treats them like shit over her. it's heartbreaking! she was willing to put off her travel dreams to be with him, she didn't want to be alone. she chose him for like 7 years but he doesn't choose her. louis is my favorite character but holy shit does claudia have good reason to grow resentful of him. even book claudia isn't as emotionless as people claim, she has mixed feelings about louis too, she doesn't start to resent him until she no longer has lestat to blame everything on, and i much prefer this complicated picture to the emotionless manipulator that people claim she is. she's not that in the books and she certainly isn't in the show. she is a complicated character who loves to kill and can be cold and calculating at times AND she desires companionship and gets her feelings hurt and her anger is born out of very real trauma. BABYGIRL
I don’t mind engaging here. and im gonna sound off on some things too while im here. please forgive me for veering for a moment before i get into what you're saying here. which i think is well said. me and anon don’t agree. i don’t feel like we have to either. i don't think every conversation has to lead to people being moved out of their stance all the time. Which is why there was a point where i said we simply have to just disagree. bc when it gets to a point where my stance is cut down bc im being perceived as only a “show watcher” bc im engaging with what is textually in the show…..well thats where the conversation started right? about the adapted character in the show so now you’re just deciding to say anything to get me to be wrong. and i am not going to engage with that. that’s not how i want to have discussions. im not saying i can’t be wrong. but im not gonna engage with something that goes beyond what im able to make sense of.
why show up to an amcverse discussion and demand the book take precedent? the show will adapt book claudia’s story arc to fit show claudia. all the parts we haven't got to yet will be adapted. so what is the sense in constantly cutting down show analysis with book analysis? they don't have to be identical. the different mediums are not identical. where they converge they converge and where they diverge they diverge. its not ignorance to speak of the show text as canon bc it is canon. in the show!
i’m able to do that with adapted movies/shows. i'm able to accept a multi-universe of truths in conversations so i just don’t know what to say to someone who refuses to, other than we disagree. where i don’t know, i go to book readers to ask. when there’s a conversation happening that is clearly book centric (wolfkiller fun debate/and jokes that i personally enjoyed, whatever angle was taken, for example) i am happy just to engage by rb and like and cackle while the ones who know bring the sauce. it was delicious and fun at first. sometimes i think we lose sight of the fact that people also just want to have a low stakes good time. but i digress
back to you love. thank you for your input. i agree. i can’t understand not acknowledging that claudia enjoyed being with Louis for a while there. She wanted to leave with him in a mirrored way to how Lestat also wanted to leave with Louis. I have seen many book readers discuss that there has been a shift in the dynamic that doesn’t lean into the romantic angle of their relationship in the book. Louis being made gay and not bisexual being one of those supporting factors. bc once again he is an adapted character and so is she. certain elements may be different. but you speak to there being love turned hate between them in the books as well and i'm inclined to believe you.
she’s heartbroken. she wanted louis to want her and choose her. she also wanted LESTAT to want and choose her. she’s heartbroken about his dismissal of her. his eventual boredom of her. his eventual resentment of her. of his abuse. i’ve even spoken to my understanding of what plays into why he feels resentful of her and how from his perspective in louis not immediately choosing him makes him also feel like louis is choosing claudia over him. that don’t mean he gets to just do whatever and be coddled and protected from the consequences of that…like? no i will not agree with that. and im comfortable with disagreeing on that. we on devices on an internet. our fingers make little tippy tappy sounds when we talk to each other. i don’t need this to be a be all/end all kind of thing. and im not moved by arguments of reverse abuse/manipulation. please miss me with that entirely. i dont agree. and i wont. i see him as a whole person too AND i am not gonna pretend she isnt justified in how she feels about him or reacts to him.
her tragic story is much fuller than just being physically small forever, and plotting something that failed. she’s more than a device to get the story to its next tragic beats to me. and i love what people i engage with bring to these analysis of all of these insane vampires. i love that others are as insane about them as i am. some people are so fucking smart. it’s a brain treat to read what they say man like how do you hold all that information in your mind and communicate it with such eloquence and hilarity and be so right??? keep talking, i am listening. some people got the book facts that fuck me up for the rest of the day thinking about it and what that author lady put into these stories like! others bring themselves with that too and that matters to me too. there is a beautiful variety of conversations happening on my dash. you’re galaxy brained and funny and i love it so much. thank you for your voices. i aint search for and lurk on the black/poc side of things for nothing. this my lil happy corner frfr. i think thats what makes this fun. its fun for me that way. and i am happy to be reminded if im going off course. and if im worried im being misunderstood i might clarify. but all this is to say its not a lot you can say to me to convince me claudia wasn’t 1000000% well within reason and justification to be whatever she needed to break free of that man’s tyranny over her. and if you aren’t moved in your stance. then we disagreee. simpo.
but back to you. thank you for your addition and giving me the opportunity to get this off my chest its heavy enough carrying around some tittys.

I would LOVE to hear the zoro lecture
zoro lecture!! not three hours long bc i value my time & sanity but it is unplanned 👍 like all of the posts here at transdykezoro
actual ramble is under the readmore. bc it got LONG.
ok so zoro is fascinating as a character to me bc he’s got three main factors directing his behavior: his grief and subsequent extreme loneliness, his refusal to ever be the weakest person in any given place, and his pattern of being incredibly devoted. take into consideration i am only just finishing skypeia
his grief and loneliness are fairly easy to spot. it’s the root of his dream, and why he follows luffy in the first place. however!! it also shows up in other places.
the first example that i can think of is when nami went back to arlong park. luffy is certain that she’ll come back with them, that she wants to be with them.
zoro isn’t.
zoro consistently casts doubt on luffy’s confidence, and switches from liking and being friendly with nami to acting like he hates her.
you might be asking how this connects to his grief and loneliness. it does, albeit in a roundabout way.
don’t take this next section as fact, because i’m a teenager and not a psychologist. but judging from how zoro was a kid when kuina died (and he was already an orphan), and a young teenager when he started bounty hunting, he’s definitely traumatized. and his particular trauma is caused by his grief.
grief, especially when the death happens when you’re a kid, changes the way you see the world and how you see other people. based on his past, i’d say that zoro probably made that huge switch with nami partially because of her betrayal (sadness can appear like anger, but he still didn’t trust her as much after as far as i remember) and partially because he has a history of losing people. at least subconsciously, her betrayal made more sense than her coming back.
the next instance in which his grief shows up is when robin first joins the crew. nobody really trusts her (for good reason imo) but zoro is the one who goes on record multiple times (in the manga) in saying that he’s keeping an eye on her and will fight her if she tries to betray them.
but he trusted luffy instantly! so what’s the difference here?
the one that i see is that while robin made her first impression as a mysterious, cunning enemy, luffy’s first impression was him being dumb, annoying, and brave as hell. and also - luffy found zoro at a moment where zoro was unimaginably lonely. he’s not with johnny and yosaku, and seemingly hasn’t been for a while. he’s been traveling around east blue for a while mostly on his own, following the traumatic deaths of three people close to him.
yes, luffy technically blackmailed him, but zoro was kind of in a place where he’d take any chance that still allowed him to follow his dream. luffy understood that, and accommodated that. because he’s luffy
robin came in as an enemy and an ally to someone who mocked and almost killed luffy. and, importantly, she came in when zoro was experiencing something he hadn’t in a while - a stable, committed friend/family group
trauma also makes people hypervigilant. hyperviligance is when you’re basically always in some level of survivor mode. zoro’s in the grand line, a place he can’t survive in without his crew, and his emotional survival depends on his crew’s (mainly luffy’s) survival. robin is a threat to that. of course zoro trusts her the least
going onto the second motivation. it actually stems from the first one in that it’s rooted in his promise to kuina, but that’s normal for zoro.
zoro needs to be the strongest, or on par with the strongest, in any given situation he’s in. this changes a bit with luffy’s protagonist-ness but i think that zoro perceives himself as only a slightly worse fighter than luffy. and he’s fine with that bc it’s luffy.
in my opinion, it’s because zoro thinks that if he can’t win against someone who’s not a swordsman, how versatile is he? and if he loses to a swordsman, then he’s not on track to being the best, and then he’s not keeping his promise to kuina, which is i think his way of keeping her in his life
this factor in his behavior doesn’t stop when he’s not fighting, it’s spread to other parts of his life. i think that’s because zoro’s had a very unstable life so far, and so he controls what he can to make it more stable for him.
a side effect of all of this is that zoro seems incredibly masculine (in the traditional sense that i grew up with. i’m a white usamerican btw). this has inspired admiration and envy of some male fans. but also a not small amount of lesbians love zoro, and relate their experiences to him (like me) (from what i can tell).
i think you can kind of compare zoro to sanji and find out why. sanji’s masculinity, to me, seems incredibly performative. he’s in love with every girl he sees, he’s the one that’ll protect them, he wears a full suit on a tiny ship, but that’s not who he is when no one’s watching imo. sanji’s masculinity seems externally motivated.
zoro’s masculinity is rooted in his promise to a female friend he had when he was young. it’s incidental. his hair is short because it’s economical and easier and he’s muscular because he needs to be strong and likes being strong. it’s an internally motivated behavior, and seems like he’s just being himself. i think that that idea is very relatable to a lot of queer people and aspirational to a lot of cis guys (although maybe i’m giving some of them too much credit)
the third and final driving factor of zoro’s behavior is his loyalty. he’s perpetually loyal to kuina, and has been for about a decade. he changed his life for her when he was a preteen. that’s loyalty.
but now, he’s also intensely loyal to luffy. his loyalty to luffy and his loyalty to kuina sometimes come into conflict, but that hasn’t had a big impact yet, but i am excited for that possibility

01/18/24 — Zia rants about being autistic & physically disabled & chronically ill in a fucked ableist society & having to be dependent on their partner
Started to have meltdown over this & other stuff to my partner before he left for work…. I didn’t meant to have a morning meltdown. I found myself shutting down and feeling guilty before he left bc I can recognize it’s hard on him even when he doesn’t wanna show it. But needed a place to rant and ended up going off down below for a like an hour. I don’t want to open up but I made tumblr after not being on here since high school for an outlet for a lot of reasons, with support & encouragement from therapists to do so. But I also hate being perceived. I’m just so fucking annoying tho I somehow always bring attention to myself that I never want….. but I’m also learning to tell my story & share my experiences. As an autistic person late diagnosed who was severely abused throughout my entire childhood opening up, learning to unmask & not shutdown, understanding my own thoughts, feelings, & experiences is so fucking hard.
I am so grateful for my partner but god I wish I was independent. I wish I had the ability to take care of myself. I wish I wasn’t so fucking dependent on his love and support. I wish I wasn’t so needy, or clingy. I wish I wasn’t disabled physically and mentally. I wish I wasn’t so wounded & traumatized. I wish I wasn’t so chronically ill. I wish I wasn’t in autistic burnout, a state of prolonged cognitive decline that one average can last 2-10 years.
I wish I could get a job. Even working from home but my mind can’t even. I’m constantly age regressing and going across different timelines of my mind and getting trapped, constantly disconnecting from this current physical reality even when I seem like a part of it to others - but it’s just automatic masking as a trauma response. All a result of my CPTSD+autism+adhd
I haven’t been able to work a real job since 2020. I’ve been fighting to get the support & benefits I need but constantly being shit on. Having to go thru constant channels to prove how severe my issues are and then being told try this treatment first and when it doesn’t work its still somehow my fault. I’m sick of having to prove my disabilities & illnesses and then when I show how bad they are I’m being dramatic. But when I mask & show strength, I must be making it up. How could you be so strong about then? There’s no winning. Only losing. I don’t see a point in showing weakness or asking for help. But then refusing to and bottling it all up, that has lead me to deeply problematic bad spirals. I just want to be taken seriously by doctors & medical professionals. I hate this country.
I wish I was normal. I hate burdening my partner. Although I know he doesn’t want me to feel like one and he genuinely wants to help me, I also know I stress him out….
I am dependent on him financially while his job is fucking over their contracts, refusing to give him & his coworkers the raises they were supposed to get a year ago. Him and his coworkers have collectively trying to unionize for months (which is the only reason they actually didn’t get a pay cut which the company was tryna do even tho they were supposed to give raises last year) and ofc my partner has been the one leading the unionizing. (We joke about my radicalism really rubbing off on him)
I’m constantly trying to find ways to make money, which end up doing more damage to my body. He hate what it does to me. He wishes he could do more while stuck in his work contract. it’s a lot on him. And I feel like his life would be so much less stressful without me tho….. or at least if I could just be normal & healthy….
Even my friends point out that unless I’m talking about my emotions & trauma I don’t make any sense talking…. like burnout really shows…. It’s embarrassing constantly. I sound like a so clearly disabled most of the time. I used to exceptionally smart & articulate before this burnout. Ik they mean it accepting my but it’s hard when 90% of what I say comes out wrong. It’s hard when I’m trying to be supportive and it sounds like asshole shit bc my issues with speech & cognition. I want to be a lovely validating friend. Not the one they have to dissect my word vomit to find the love & support in foolish clumsily words. I’m technically hyperlexic so I can keep creating words but my other learning disabilities downgrade the quality & meaning of those words.
But I also only make sense when talking about my looping emotions & trauma is bc I only share what I can (the deeper stuff is vaulted by selective mutism & shutdowns). This is the shit going thru my brain, talking to myself about and looping constantly. Ofc it’s the only thing I can talk about. But even most the time I’m still not making sense entirely. But it’s all I can think about, talk to myself about, and it’s all the my brain is giving me permission to share about myself.

Donald Trump Jr. and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene have come under fire for making the “dumbest remarks ever” about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s surprise trip to the US.
The Ukrainian leader is in Washington D.C., to meet President Joe Biden and give an in-person address to Congress.
The monumental meeting, which remained a closely guarded secret until Tuesday night, marks Mr. Zelensky’s first trip out of Ukraine since Russia declared war on the country 300 days ago.
While Mr. Biden tweeted that he was “thrilled” to welcome Mr. Zelensky to the US and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said America is “in awe of the heroism of the Ukrainian people”, some MAGA Republicans are less than impressed with the visit.
Mr. Trump Jr. took to Twitter to complain about Republican support for the Ukrainian defence effort and about Mr. Zelensky, who he branded an “international welfare queen”.
“Mitch McConnell actually said yesterday that most Republicans #1 priority is ... Ukraine,” he wrote.
“I have yet to meet a single Republican that thinks that, but I guess the disconnect between actual republicans and D.C. swamp rats shouldn’t surprise anyone.”
In a follow-up tweet, Mr. Trump Jr – whose father contributed zero to the US economy in the way of federal income tax in 2020 – added: “Zelensky is basically an ungrateful international welfare queen.”
Tumblr media
His criticism was echoed by right-wing conspiracy theorist Ms. Greene who posted an eight-part rant about the US’s support of Ukraine.
In her scathing posts, the MAGA Republican congresswoman fumed about sending money to Ukraine and made a bizarre reference to a so-called “omnimonster”.
“Mitch McConnell helps pass a nearly $2 TRILLION Onnimonster so that he can hand a $47 BILLION dollar check to Zelenskyy when he shows up in D.C. today. But in my district, many families & seniors can’t afford food & many businesses are struggling bc of Biden policies,” she wrote.
Ms. Greene went on to claim that she is speaking on behalf of the American people – something many Americans were quick to dispute.
“The disconnected & totally oblivious government leaders & sheltered media all live in a bubble & only talk to each other,” the congresswoman tweeted.
“They’re so naive & ignorant they think my views are extreme but are totally blind and stupid to the fact that what I am saying is exactly how Americans feel.”
Tumblr media
Her lengthy post came hours after she branded Mr. Zelensky – who refused offers to rescue him from Ukraine at the start of the war in order to stay and lead his nation’s defence efforts – a “shadow president”.
“Of course the shadow president has to come to Congress and explain why he needs billions of American’s taxpayer dollars for the 51st state, Ukraine. This is absurd. Put America First!!!” she tweeted.
Several social media users slammed the pair for their comments, pointing out their perceived hypocrisies.
One Twitter user mocked Mr. Trump Jr. for making “the dumbest remark ever” branding him a “daddy’s boy”.
Tumblr media
“A daddy’s boy who met with a foreign adversary that was attempting to subvert an American election is daring to denigrate a true hero battling Putin & defending his nation from a genocidal war? This may be the dumbest remark ever from Junior. And that’s quite an accomplishment,” they said.
“Pal, look at that ‘queen’ and learn a few lessons about courage, decency, and what it means to be a grown-up,” chimed another person.
Others pointed to the irony of his comments coming hours after a report revealed how little tax his father paid while serving in the White House.
Tumblr media
“Your dad doesn’t pay his taxes. Sit this one out, buddy,” the Lincoln Project tweeted to Mr. Trump Jr.
Ms. Greene – who faced renewed mockery this week over her past peddling of an antisemitic conspiracy theory – also faced backlash from Americans demanding she stop claiming to speak on behalf of them.
“NO NO NO NO YOU DON’T GET TO SAY HOW 'US' Americans feel. We really can’t stand you. I’m not trying to be mean but everyone I know starts laughing when your name is even brought up. DON’T SPEAK FOR US . YOU CAN HARDLY SPEAK FOR YOURSELF,” one person tweeted.
Others sought to school Ms. Greene that supporting Ukraine might be in the best interests of the US, with some branding her “selfish”.
“By helping the Ukrainians, we ARE putting America first. Fight the war there or we have to fight Russian in Europe except it will be Taylor Swift on the USO stage, not Glenn Miller,” one person tweeted.
Another person tweeted: “When I was growing up, I was always taught to put others before myself. I was taught not to be selfish. You republicans don’t think about others; you only think about yourself. Why don’t you just say it the way you mean it?”
The noise from the right-wing figures came ahead of Mr. Zelensky’s arrival in Washington D.C. for a visit that he says will strengthen Ukraine’s “resilience and defence capabilities” in the face of Russian attack.
Mr. Biden greeted Mr. Zelensky as he arrived at the White House before the two leaders sat down for a two-hour meeting.
Mr. Zelensky and Mr. Biden were then holding a joint press conference where they were expected to announce the US’s commitment to send an additional $2bn in security assistance to Ukraine, including the provision of the Patriot missile defence system.
On Wednesday evening, the Ukrainian president was due to deliver a joint address to Congress after accepting an invitation from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
As a show of gratitude for the US’s assistance during the war, Mr. Zelensky was expected to present Mr. Biden and Congress with a Ukrainian flag signed by Ukrainian soldiers.

ride the cyclone - a very much hyper fixated hyper analysis.
in the “we’re all just sailing thru space” part of its not game/its just a ride if you focus, you can pick out each of the choir members voices. in fall fair suite/uranium suite they’re still very much a choir, so they’re in unison. this part really sets in stone that they lived in this small, small, small town for their entire lives (except for mischa) but they really had no chance to express themselves to their own peers. at the end after everything they went through you can pick out everyone. also, before the lead in to its just a ride, you see ocean going over to karnaks dead body (???) and i like to think that she was like, checking to see if he died for real yk. ALSO. after talia where karnak offers to show mischa his potential life with her, noel stops him BECAUSE MISCHA IS PROBABLY GETTING CATFISHED BUT AT THE SAME TIME NOEL HAS PROBABLY GOTTEN CATFISHED AND BULLIED SO MANY TIMES GROWING UO HE DOESN’T WANT HIS NEW EVENTUAL FRIEND TO GO THROUGH WHAT HE WENT THROUGH BC HES SO MADLY IN LOVE WITH HER. fuck the catfish theory. when jane/penny is performing in any of the choirs songs it’s very choreographed to each member, they all were moving against they’re own will buttttt- for example at the end of this song is awesome she lets go of her skirt and kind of cocks back to the doll like movement. also, noels lament and bojd should switch names. a ballad is a solem tale or story told through song, NOELS FUCKING LAMENT. the relationship? the opium downfall? TYPOID FLU? it tells a story. Meanwhile ballad of Jane doe is her singing and despairingly longing to remembered, even though she can’t remember either. Sure for the first and last half of the song she sings kind of mellow (for the most part!! emily rohm delivered it so perfectly), in the middle, i personally like to think that it’s the doll “persona” cracking and penny is wanting to know how she would be remembered and just in desperate longing. And at the end, she snaps back to reality. Also the ending, jesus christ where do i fucking begin. It can be perceived in so many ways, that’s why its ambiguous. Like they could have moved on to the afterlife or they they could have come back (my personal favorite theory because I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY DEAD DEAD)
