#but Bruce doesn't believe in miracles
Text
Little Jason tries really-really-really hard to not disappoint Bruce, but he doesn't know that Bruce standards after Dick look like:
Nor chewing on the plaster (please)
Don't bark on stray dogs (if possible)
Don't set the mansion on fire (optional)

God, I love the Cave Boy series. Will the batfam manage to find him after he dips. Will they ever find out about his powers. So many questions
Danny stays underground for days.
He doesn't know the exact time frame because he only goes to the surface to grab supplies. He makes sure to only fully emerge when there is no light out.
It was a bigger risk to be caught by the Waynes, who only operated in the dark, but it ensured fewer eyewitnesses were around. Danny Kane was still a very hot celebrity for taking down the Joker- he would be surrounded by a mob of fans if he walked down the street.
He moved his ship into a deeper cave by phasing the large metal and all his equipment through solid rock, which was not easy. It was a miracle he found a little pocket to set up shop.
Danny thinks the little pocket- surrounded by stone with no opening at all, was formed after a cave-in at one point. It was large enough to work on his ship and had just enough space to set up a sleeping bag and a tent for rest.
He rarely uses that space nowadays.
Danny had stolen from a camping store- taking with him an entire box of lanterns that he placed strategically around his space. They threw light to the large four walls of stone- making him feel trapped inside a midevil dungeon, and somehow, it also made him think incredulity alone.
That was the worst part of this whole change of scenery. He doesn't want to admit it, but he got used to Wayne Manor and the colorful characters there.
He hadn't even done anything besides lay around but he missed the sound of people. Even before Bruce had found him, Danny would see people often as he wandered around gathering a sense of the city.
Now, he was genuinely suffocating alone. He didn't feel the loss often, but there were times when it felt like being hit by a truck.
It's when his own ice powers reach into his bones, causing his teeth to clatter and curl up into a smaller ball on the cave ground, that Danny misses the Manor the most. He stole food from the stores- but without any way to cook or heat it up, it's limited to the packed food.
Sometimes, while eating packs of dried fruit, he thinks longingly of Alfred's warm meals. Then he remembers how they looked at him when his lies got so out of hand that they believed Bruce's parents lived in his world and he could suppress the longing to return.
Danny has made leaps and bounds on building his ship since he no longer pretends to be Brucie. He no longer filled the hours with nonsense, only being awake to work or stealing what he needed to continue working.
Unlike before, Danny had developed a tunnel version of finishing his project. He no longer wanted to give himself time to ensure everything was fine.
He just wanted to go home.
He's gotten better at wielding using his own ghost laser, and now his ship had its full body. It was missing seats, a window, and even a steering program that actually turned when he wanted- but he was getting closer and closer every day.
All the small technology pieces he stole from the Waynes were on one side- ripped apart for the needed parts. He would spend hours carefully opening everything to check what he could use and what he could melt down to repurpose.
Danny carefully pulls out some small wires from the electric candle he took from the Wayne Dinner table when his vision blurs. He takes a moment to blink rapidly, trying to let the sudden burst of lightheadedness pass him.
Sadly, it was only a few seconds before he crumbled to the hard ground. He gasps, the cold coming back tenfold, and he can do nothing but lay there and pray the pain passes.
Danny hadn't felt this weak since his ice core first developed. Even the first Ghostly Wail hadn't made his limbs feel this heavy.
He knows he has been pushing himself too far lately- barely eating or sleeping- but Danny can't risk any wasted second. He saw the resources the Bats have.
It was only a matter of time before they found him- even if they would need to drill through the solid stone for hours to reach him- and he didn't want to face them after the guilt of lying to them was slowly eating him alive.
He had kept the Wayne at arm's length the entire time, living under the pretense of being Bruce Wayne's counterpart. He told himself he wanted nothing to do with their nightly battle against evil- and he didn't!- and that he could care less if they treated him as family.
He took everything they gave him without hesitation, telling himself they were fools for letting anyone in and stealing from them. Danny thought it would not matter as he would finish his ship and be flying home long before they realized he wasn't Bruce.
Until they stop treating him so warmly after killing the Joker. Danny wasn't sorry about it, but suddenly, he was a stranger in a crowd to them.
Danny had no right to be upset. He lied. He didn't want to be Brucie to them and had actively made Tim look bad by being as Unproactive as possible, going along with changed narratives of his world.
Danny had used the Waynes.
Yes, he did so, believing they were a cult or an evil madman, but he learned that wasn't the case early on. He could have ended the lie at any moment, but he didn't because he figured it would be harmless.
Then he realized that Bruce's parents were killed in front of him- the story wasn't hard to find when he actually bothered to look into the Waynes at a local high school library after hours.
Not only did he find the horrific story, but he found out that almost all the Waynes had a tragic story. Dick's parents were murdered in an accident that wasn't an accident at all.
Tim's parents were killed by a madman with boomerangs. Jason's father died in prison, and his mother overdosed before Bruce took him in. Duke's parents were patients with no working mind because of the Joker (Danny should have made his death last longer).
The only ones that didn't seem to be Cass and Damian, but he knew it was likely due to Bruce not wanting the public to learn that they came from abusive households- he figured that much out by their reactions.
Even Alfred had a history of PTSD from his time in the army. There was an article about a scandal when Bruce had actually been a child- apparently, someone had thought to release firecrackers under the servant's table, and Alfred had panicked. People had mocked him about it for months.
Everyone had a reason to be a villain, yet they all had opened their home to him and been nothing but kind. They were good, and they treated him like family.
Danny felt sick with himself, for being so self-centered he never bothered to really get to know them. And now he never could.
A few tears rolled down his face as his vision started to blur out more and more.
No use crying over it now, Fenton. Though the haze of exhaustion doesn't let him get up from the floor, he thinks bitterly.
He'll rest for a little bit, then get back to work. Only for a few minutes/
Danny doesn't notice his body has shifted in his Ghist side, slowly redirecting his energy to his core, so that his healing could help overcome the unknown days.
He is not aware his heartbeat stops at the same time.
_____________________________________________________________
"I can't hear him anymore!" A young boy screams, pressing his ear against a stone. Horror clouds his voice as he turns to stare at another boy. "His heartbeat....it's not...."
"We must make haste! Breakthrough now!" The other boy snaps.
"But that might cause the cave to fall on top of him." The other rubs his hands together nervously. "I think we may be too late to save-"
"Every second we waste is a second that Brucie gets closer to death!" His company growls savagely, though the tears in his eyes make him less scary. "We have to at least bring his body home- we-I can't- he needs to be buried properly."
Not even a second passed before the other boy threw his shoulders back, yanking out his phone and pressing a speed dial two.
His father picks up two rings. "Jon?"
"Dad! We found Brucie! He was stuck in a cave underneath the tunnels leading to Gotham Cemetry. Can you come help me get him out?"
"I'll be right there."

Fair warning his is mostly going to be Felix/Marinette and Damian Wayne/Marinette.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Felix Graham De Vanily
Hey, Little Songbird by charlietheepic7
~Really, Felix couldn't believe his cousin sometimes. Marinette was talented, beautiful, kind, and had a crush on Adrien bigger than the mansion, yet Adrien was blind to the treasure right in front of him. "Just a friend," indeed.
Well, if Adrien wasn't going to do anything, it wouldn't matter if Felix... snatched her up?~
Welcome To The Back by Geeeny
~Marinette Dupain-Cheng sits alone in the back. Until she doesn't.~
birds of a feather by WithLovePoohBear
~When Mme Bustier’s class gets a new student, Marinette might just finally find true friends who love and support her for who she is.
But more accurately, she finds her home.~
Pen Pals by That_Kwami_plagg
~Marinette and Felix have been Pen Pals for two years. She tells him everything. All of the abuse, lies and manipulations. He became her sanctuary, and her his. What happens when Felix moves to France? Can he help her through her struggles, or will he be another victim of Lila?~
Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Damian Wayne
She’s Sunshine, She’s Grace, She’ll Punch You in the Face by Brinxiethebear
~Marinette struggles to stay happy nowadays but what better way to change your mood than with a change of location? Adrien gave up his miraculous so he could start fresh. After all, his dad was in prison for being the super villain Hawkmoth and his other caretaker Nathalie died from over use of a broken Miraculous. So now Marinette is the guardian of the miraculous. ~
for us to collide by LadyLiterature
~The story of Marinette stumbling upon the illustrious Wayne family over and over again, as well as the more infamous Bats, over the course of her many visits to Gotham. She, of course, charms the whole lot of them and finds that the same is true in the reverse.~
A Robin and His Lady by ProudGeek4Ever
~Marinette lost her friends to Lila, Adrien was long forgotten and Chat Noir kept getting more irresponsible. Being a teenage superhero was stressfull, but Marinette's life takes a turn for the better when a chance meeting in Gotham changes everything. Damian changes everything.~
No, Mr. Wayne, You Can't Adopt Me! by ggomoz (ggomo_springtime)
~Bruce's personal assistant is scarily competent---she seems to know the best decision at each time, predict emergencies, and is an expert at handling all of his children. But what if there's more to her than meets the eye?~
More Than One Secret by Tyshian
~Marinette Dupain-Cheng has Secrets. Damian Wayne has Secrets. The pair together have Secrets.~
Reunions are... interesting if you’re a Todd by crazyjc
~Alright, this is based on laraceleste's Tell Me More where Jason Todd is Marinette’s big brother with one exception—Marinette didn’t know where Jason was after she was adopted until after he died when she was ten. They were apart for three years here, as GCPD got her at 7.~
It's Just Indifference by dontyoublink
~Marinette thought she would just get some inspiration for her designs when she headed to the park. As luck would have it, she also meets four (interesting? unique? slightly insane?) Americans. Frisbee, ice cream, and much-needed conversations ensue.~
World's Greatest Detectives, My Ass by Appleberry84
~Marinette figures out the Batfam's identities and decides to torture them.~
Leave it Behind by ShannonEsmerelda
~Marinette Dupain-Cheng has grown tired of Paris, and the miracle box was no longer safe there. It'd been active in the country for too long, seen too much damage. She needed to find a place for both her and the kwami's to heal, while still having the ability to be a hero. So, why not Gotham? The city had enough crime for both her and the bat family without getting in each others way, right? Right?~
Report to HR by SimplyAnotherWriter
~Look; Bruce liked Marinette. If the girl hadn’t already had loving and adoring parents that had spotless records and nothing incriminating about them whatsoever(Bruce had checked long and hard), he probably would have adopted the girl just like he had the others.
However, things wouldn't remain this perfect if Damian continued to try and mess it up by SCARING the poor girl!~
The Sun Who Lit Up The Night Sky by FandomQueen10325, leaping_lizard_babe
~4 months after the defeat of Hawkmoth, the akuma class wins a trip to Gotham. While they are there, Marinette keeps attracting bad luck, and can never seem to stay out of trouble. The Batfam is very interested when they learn about what had happened in Paris, so they question ladybug.~
Travels of Passion by StarShine583
~When people as famous as the Waynes come to visit your city, the most you'd expect to get from them is a quick little smile. A hand shake if you're in the right place at the right time and extremely lucky. Marinette didn't really expect to get either, and she certainly didn't expect to get what she actually got.~
Of Birds and Bugs (revising and rewriting) by orphan_account
~Marinette was a busy girl. Between her idol work as NeTi, and her duty as Ladybug, it was hard to do everything else, like being a good class president. Still, she was able to pull through.
Somehow, the class get's a trip to Gotham, sponsored by Bruce Wayne himself, and it looked like Marinette would be able to take a break for once.~
Dinner at Wayne Manor by littlefleetinglight for
~In the front hall standing in a line was Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim and Damien; in that orders, with Alfred standing in front of them like an officer in front of his troops.
“Now, when Ms.Marinette arrives there will be no inappropriate language, no crude gestures or noises, and there will be no interrogation. Do you gentlemen understand?”~
#SunshineOfGotham by sixtyeightdays
~All of Gotham knows Marinette, the Sunshine who's made her way into everyone's hearts. But so what if all of Gotham knows Marinette? Does her class know that they know Marinette? Of course not, why would they! But, well, let's see how they find out.~
Rockin’ the House by littlefleetinglight for
~It was another charity gala held by the Wayne Family; this one was raising funds for art programs across the world, and because it was for art there were artists of all types from all over, including the famous Rock’n’Roll artist Jagged Stone…and his guest.~
To marry an Assassin by PL_Panda
~Marinette wakes up in a cell and later is forced to marry a member of the League of Shadows, who is also less than willing. Exactly what she was pulled in? And of course there is magic involved, so no cancellation. And apparently in Tibet ancient orders can marry minors off just like that. This was definitely not Damian's day. Or Week. Or month. He got married with a random girl...~
Who Needs Words? by AKP31E
~After the defeat of Hawkmoth and the retirement of Suhan, Marinette’s life is just getting crazier. She doesn’t know how a soulmate could ever fit into her life, and sometimes she thinks the two letters on her wrist are just the universe’s joke to her, but she knows better than to bank on it. Her soul mark isn’t even a word. Who is going to say “Tt” to her?~
History Repeats by DesertSnowQueen
~When Kitty Noire makes an appearance in Gotham, she finds herself drawn to a certain little bird whose brothers are far too entertained by this turn of events~
Magical Girl by Judysupremus
~Marinette accidentally portals into the batcave.~
The Power of Luck by FridayFirefly
~The Ladybug Miraculous had quite a few side effects, none more powerful and unpredictable than the power of Miraculous Luck. When Marinette's family relocates to Gotham, Marinette finds her Miraculous Luck leading her down a path she never would have expected, a path that leads straight to Damian Wayne.~
The events on a Saturday Morning by orphan_account

Friendly Sunshine In Gotham by M1dn1ght_Star

serendipity by keeptellingyourselfthat
~The last time Damian AL-Ghul saw Marinette was when they were twelve. He didn't think he would see her again. So, it's a huge surprise when he stumbles upon her in WE while exposing the liar of the class from France.~
In The Wrong Bed? by San_fics
~“Like I said,” Jason yawned. “Eventually everyone in this family goes crazy.”
“I'm not crazy!” Damian protested. “She was here!”
“Maybe you just had a very realistic dream?” Dick suggested.
“I’m perfectly capable of distinguishing dreams from reality, thank you very much!” Snapped Damian. “She was real and she was in my bed!”~
Cat Cursed by TheStarfishAlien
~The Cheng family carries a curse. Every other generation carries a second form, that of a cat. Their dual nature makes it difficult for those with the curse to fit in with society. How do you think Dick reacts to be mistaken for Damian’s father? How would Damian react if Dick didn’t correct someone making the mistake?
Okay, so before I get into that, I want to talk about how I personally see the dynamics between Damian with Bruce, Talia, and Dick. I don't accept the idea that Talia al Ghul is a bad parent or that the al Ghuls are super abusive in the way comics has portrayed them from Morrison's run and after. I think it's racist, and I think it's overall shitty writing. Damian Wayne had said he is proud of both Talia and Bruce, don't ask me where that happened. It's a miracle I even remember it happened. There's also the one thing of Dick and Damian that my pookie @confusedhummingbird reblogged one of my things with, and I'll just steal that delightful panel for your convenience.
Tumblr media
Anyway, so basically what I'm saying is that I don't particularly enjoy when Dick is hailed as a great parent compared to Bruce and Talia. Bruce and Talia definitely have some horrible fuck-ups (with Talia's being very racist in nature, and I swear to gods if someone fucking tries arguing her character wasn't treated in a racist manner, you're getting blocked so fucking fast). Like Bruce definitely did some fucked up shit too, but in general, I don't necessarily think he does a completely shit job at being a dad. In fact, when Batman is written in a halfway decent way, he is a pretty good dad in my opinion.
While Dick definitely did a good job with Damian, I think it would be pretty out of character for Dick to just discount Bruce and Talia's role as parents for Damian unless it was something pretty big and bad for Damian, in which case Bruce and Talia are probably being written fucking weirdly.
So onto your actual question! I think Dick would be...not bashful, but somewhere in there. I also think he'd just take it in stride and not correct them unless Damian wanted him to. He definitely doesn't want to overstep those kinds of boundaries with Damian if he has them. I also think depending on where they are at/what they are doing definitely contributes to how he'd react. Like when they were out as Batman and Robin, definitely was fine with the dad-son thing there. Out as Nightwing and Robin, doesn't bother to correct them. I don't think they'd get mistaken for being father-son in Gotham or in Blüdhaven, and I don't think any hero would mistake them for being father-son unless they were like new, new. But yeah, just depends.
I don't think Damian would really correct someone now. When Bruce died, in the period he was really learning from Stephanie, Dick, and Alfred, he probably would've corrected them. I don't think so now. I think family dynamics are a lot more fluid than people like to claim they are. Personally, I have a lot of people I see in parental roles, and one of them (which I don't see anymore because they are racist) were in a similar age range that Dick and Damian are. I didn't get mad or correct people when they thought I was their kid. I was either 1) embarrassed, 2) didn't care to make the effort to correct them, and 3) happy to be seen as such close family to them. That, and all the changes going on in his life at that time, and Dick's pretty much unwavering support for Damian leads me to believe that Damian wouldn't mind being seen as Dick's kid. I think he understands that Dick took on a parental role for him, and he can understand that he still has his biological parents to rely on.
SO! Basically, Dick doesn't correct people because I don't think a lot of people in their life would get it confused, and Damian doesn't mind because Dick is a parental figure in his life, and it isn't some sort of replacement figure for his biological parents.

I like analysing shit.
I like Red Hood: Lost Days
So I am going to analyse some of it.
To start with, lets look at the titles of the issues.
#1: The First Step
#2: Baptism
#3: School
#4: Higher Learning
#5: After School Activities
#6: Benediction and Commencement
What immediately strikes me is how all of these are relevant to the issue AND as a whole. They are describing a life fresh from birth to how that life progresses until graduation. Extremely important when considering that this is basically Jason's second life. He died and now he is "reborn" after being put into the Lazarus pit.
The First Step: The fact that the title name was on the page in which Jason was pushed into the Pit lets me believe that this IS the first step, as Red Hood: Lost Days explains the time between him being found by Talia to him becoming Red Hood. This is the first step in him becoming the Red Hood.
Baptism: Not exactly clear as to what "Baptism" is referring to here. I have multiple ideas. First, there is the possibility that it is a continuation of the last issue, as that issue ended with Jason being pushed into the pit and in religious baptisms, water is usually connected to it as the person being baptized is getting water poured onto their head. But it could also mean a non-religious baptism as in he is starting a new role. He finally gets to train with a clear mind and can properly start his journey.
Issue #3-#5 are relatively similar, all him explaining his training and stopping the evil schemes his teachers are involved with.
Benediction and Commencement: Commencement, he has completed his training or "graduated" if you take the school aspect into account from issue 3 to 5. Benediction, he gets his blessings from Talia to finally confront Bruce after stalling him so long. Commencement, "the beginning of something new". The issue ends with him picking up the Red Hood helmet, before that, he met up with Hush. The beginning of the Red Hood.
Next I want to focus a bit on religious imagery. I am not a big fan of it in general, but considering that words like "Baptism" and "Benediction" are in the titles, it is note-worthy. If it is something you're uncomfortable with, feel free to skip this section
I have seen people make the point that this cover:
Tumblr media
Has similarities to pictures of Mary holding a dead Jesus.
And now that I think about it more, I can see why and they are pretty good stand-ins.
Jason came back from the dead, like Jesus.
Talia found Jason after he came back. She considers it a miracle. Like fate WANTS Jason to live. He wandered into her life. She isn't so much as interfering with fate, as stepping out of its way.
And then you have this page:
Tumblr media
Jason as he has his arms spread wide, legs forming almost a straight line. Similar to Jesus on the cross.
The Lazarus pit isn't green. It's orange and yellow. It shines so bright. Ra's says it burns in his heart. He tells Talia it could turn Jason mad in a few months, years or decades. That she has unleashed a curse. A pestilence. Pestilence being one of the for Horsemen of the Apocalypse. And so, the Lazarus Pit becomes a symbol for Hell.
The fact that Jason and Talia are more distorted versions of the religious figures they could represent becomes more prominent as the story goes on. In the bible, Jesus goes back to Heaven to rejoin with his Father. In this story, Talia is told and knows that she should return Jason to Bruce. But she doesn't. Because Jason will see it as betrayal and he wouldn't forgive her for that.
My last and favourite point is how RH: LD is the perfect set up to Under the Red Hood.
Jason explains how it isn't about the Joker. Or Bruce. Or him. It's about the three of them.
Bruce was supposed to protect him.
Joker killed him.
Bruce didn't avenge him.
He tried to kill both of them only to NOT do it and walk away.
Jason died away from Gotham in Ethiopia, but not before being beaten with a crowbar, the building he was in having exploded and then asphyxiating due to the smoke.
Jason almost killed the Joker by setting him on fire. (Explosion)
He initially wanted to do it in another location. (Ethiopia)
He wanted to do it slowly. (Crowbar)
Jason says when the pain would hit the Joker, he would scream. Until it hit his throat. His lungs. (Asphyxiating)
He is reliving his own death. He wants his murderer to go through the agony he did. An eye for an eye one could say.
"Reliving his own death" is an objective statement here, as Jason sees the Joker swinging a crowbar that is dripping with his own blood while at the same time also standing right above the Joker, who is drenched in gasoline.
Now I want you to compare these two scenes. This is when he was about to kill the Joker:
Tumblr media
The panels switch between Jason and the firelighter, present Joker and past Joker. The firelighter, the device that would end the Joker's life, comes more and more into the focus. Until he disengages it on the last panel.
Now to the second scene, when Jason planted a bomb under the Batmobile and was about to detonate it.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The panels switch between Batman and Jason. Jason is hovering over the detonater. Until he pulls away.
When Jason explained to Talia why he walked away from the Joker, he said that it wasn't enough. It was only ever about the three of them, not just Joker. His plan doesn't include murdering Batman anymore.
But the reason Jason gave Talia why he didn't kill Bruce? "I couldn't let him get off so easy. He'd never know what happened. He'd never know knwo why. He'd never know it was me." One could wonder if we are supposed to see this as a parallel as well. If we should apply this reasoning of why he didn't kill Bruce to why he didn't kill Joker.
The Joker would never know why Jason killed him. He doesn't even know that it IS Jason who is about to murder him.
And while is plan doesn't include killing Bruce anymore. Nobody said anything about the Joker.
As I said, perfect setup to Under the Red Hood.

"Grimm" is a five-part story from Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight from 2002 and I kind of absolutely lost my mind over it because there was just so much validating everything I've always thought about these two. The premise is typical comics shenanigans, there's a Mother Grimm who is stealing street kids and abused children away to this fantastical underground carnival to let them live a whimsical life, where they're loved and cared for--which Dick falls into because he's clashing with Bruce, who is freaking out because he's worried that he's turning Dick into a mirror version of himself. The story is woven through with Alfred gently trying to push (which I've been losing my shit about here and here because this is exactly what I read comics for) both Bruce and Dick into acknowledging that they're becoming father and son--but it's clear that both of them are terrified of stepping into those roles, Bruce because he doesn't know how to raise a kid and he's afraid he's hurting more than helping, Dick because he's not sure Bruce even wants him around as Robin, much less as Dick Grayson, but you watch the way Alfred barely has to nudge them and you see them both start to lean into the idea before they get scared again and jump back into saying they're partners and friends instead. And it's so validating because it's the good stuff--Dick running away because he feels like Bruce doesn't want him, Bruce coming home to tell him that he's going to find Dick a new family because he's scared he's molding this kid into himself but he can't because Dick's already run off, but when Dick says he's going to stay with Mother Grimm, Bruce looks gut-punched like he can't actually believe Dick would leave. Meanwhile, Bruce tries to leave, but Mother Grimm secretly doses him with psychotropic drugs which send him into hallucinations about how he's dragging Dick into this violent world of his, and how he's setting him up for death, that because Bruce didn't die with his parents, now he's trying to get this kid--this kid who mirrors him in so many ways--killed instead. And it's all just so much terror at the thought of letting someone else in after their losses--Bruce because he's scared of losing more people, Dick scared because he's not sure he's wanted, and it'll take years yet for them to actually put anything into words, so instead they settle for "partners" and it might feel unsatisfying and half-assed, except honestly Dick Grayson and Alfred Pennyworth were working miracles here. There's plenty of room for other interpretations, including soft dad!Bruce who eagerly embraces the idea (and it's not too far off from this, this Bruce very clearly does want that, he's just scared and so he keeps chickening out), but this is where I live, this is why Dick Grayson is so fundamentally important to Bruce Wayne's story, that neither character is complete without the other. Bruce Wayne is a character who lost his entire world on that night he was eight years old and didn't know how to grow beyond it for so long, and how do you make a character arc like that satisfying? How do you take a character that is defined by a child's loss of his parents, that shapes everything of who he came to be, and make a satisfying conclusion?
You do it by making him a father to a child who needs him. A child who mirrors him, where they could bring out the worst in each other--and sometimes they do tend to slide into those fears getting the better of them--but instead Bruce struggles his way to being someone who openly admits that he's fallible, he makes mistakes, but he loves his kid and he is a father, that he needs to step up. I've been reading a lot of Bruce & Damian comics lately and it's been striking me how different Bruce is--he's still emotionally constipated, but he understands that he has to get in there, set boundaries, set rules, and make sure the kid knows that he's proud of them. Has to be the adult that looks past the scared kid's bravado and harsh words, to see the vulnerability underneath.
Bruce could never have done any of what he's doing with Damian currently without THIS RIGHT HERE. Without the yearning for something he doesn't know how to put into words (even when Alfred basically spells it out for him), without Dick Grayson bringing light and love into his life, without Dick being such a bright and loving child who was still scared that he wasn't wanted, so Bruce has to open up and learn to start actually saying what he means.
You don't get Bruce & Damian (or Bruce & Jason or Bruce & Tim) without Bruce & Dick first. You don't get any of that without Bruce's relationship with Dick making him put his fears into words and learning to trust his heart to this kid, step by step.
Bruce and Dick's relationship being rocky in the early days isn't a mark against how much Bruce loved that kid, but instead a sign of just how miraculous it was that Dick Grayson got him this far in the first place. Dick Grayson had to be the first, because you don't get to current day Bruce Wayne with any of his other kids without him. (Overall, this was a fairly silly comic that was very much of its era, but I thought it was a great read because it really nailed how hard it was for them to even begin to approach the idea of Bruce being a dad, he couldn't even say it at the end of all this, despite that he literally pulled the most dad move of all time by waiting in the dark for his kid to sneak back in and basically tell him he was grounded. GOD THEY ARE SO EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED AND IT'S SO DELICIOUSLY FUN.)

absolutely obsessed with your infertile!dickjay hcs!! but also curious about your take on a kind of opposite au: any thoughts on dickjay accidental pregnancy 👀👀
Thank you so much, anon!! You're so sweet. I've written up two accidental pregnancy scenarios below just for you~ I hope you enjoy!! (´∀`)♡
Mistaken Infertility leading to Accidental Pregnancy 👀
Honest to goodness, they both wholeheartedly believe that children aren't in their futures. So when Jason gets pregnant he's very much alarmed because how the fuck.
Dick, too, is lost because how. Also, who?
And Jason doesn't take offense to that, given their circumstances, but he swears it's only Dick. It's only ever been -
Jason being spooked and concerned that Dick won't react to the news well. And Dick is reeling, for sure. But only because they're pregnant? Yes. They're going to have a pup? If Dick wants to.
And Dick - even if he thought he could, he would have never actively tried, but now that it's here and happening? The fact that this is a miracle aside, Dick could never not want to do this.
His smile is brilliant, devastating. They're having a pup. A litter? A pup! ANd that reaction. That pure joy gives Jason so much peace of mind and assurance; it soothes so many of the fears and stress Jason would have been battling with.
Dick taking Jason's face in his hands, squishing Jason's cheeks as he kisses him. It's little more than a peck before Dick is on his knees marveling Jason's stomach and Jason can't help the sputtered laugh as his abdomen receives a similar kiss. He's peppered with them until Jason falls to his knees too and they hug each other and it's sweet.
Proud papa!Dick telling everyone about their pup, about how Jason is going to be a mom and Dick gets to be a dad. It both embarrasses Jason and makes him all warm
Intense family of bats going feral over the news because it's Dick and Jason's pup and it's the first pup their pack will get and Bruce in particular is intense because he's gonna be a grandpa, a grandpalpha? He's happy. Hugs for his boys. Especially because he knows they were convinced they would never have the option, the choice.
Jason being genuinely happy to be having a pup with Dick, but pregnancy is a long standing fear of his so Jason is stressed; Dick is there with him though. He's terrified of being a dad - as terrified as he is thrilled. They're in this together though; they've got one another. And their pack who won't leave them alone. Just them working through insecurities together and it's lovely.
So many belly kisses. Jason gets annoyed with it because hello, he's still here too. Dick laughing but smothering Jason with affections until Jason shoves him away because ugh alphas
Refraining from the angst route but please do know that my default for Jason in these sorts of routes never fails to go tragic I'm just - o(-( the pain it hurts good
Extra Unplanned Pregnancy without the Infertility Storyline 👀
Where Dick has a no strings attached one night stand with Jason
It's literally a one-time casual encounter, one time; a quick one and done fling where they both let off steam and resolve a ridiculous amount of UST between them it's good
Contrary to popular belief, Dick isn't actually the sort to do that kind of thing. Despite any efforts, he's a traditional alpha; something he's been playfully teased about by friends
So for him to do this? He's a little proud of himself ngl.
But lbr Dick fails at casual right away because he's already thinking about doing it again. Consistently. A committed friends with benes situation where they don't see other people
Anyway, Dick is happy with how everything played out. Feels better than ever.
Relationships never end well for him, but this thing he fell into with Jason? They both left happy and no one got hurt in the end.
Little does he know 👀
And then from Jason's side:
Jason turning up on Dick's doorstep, agitated as all get out
Dick, hopeful and eager for a reprise because Jason doesn't just visit him out of the blue like this
And seriously right on the doorstep Jason just bluntly blurts out that he's pregnant. It's Dick's.
And Dick is just (ʘ‿ʘ) ???? because of course this couldn't be casual of course something like this would happen what in the goddamn omg okay this is fine but no it's not because Jason is clearly freaking out but so is Dick what do what ahhhhhhhh (internal)
Continuation to the above because Dick absolutely going through the full range of emotions from denial to acceptance; panic to excitement - all the feelings but ultimately tempering himself because Jason is very clearly going through his own thing and Dick needs to be there for him first and foremost as the baby daddy
Then it follows the usual storyline of the two of them deciding on what to do which is a rollercoaster of ups and downs and do we keep or not but what if this that and the other and they fall in love along the way and it's just a good time.

Hello!!!.
I wanted to know how a Yandere Bruce Wayne or Yandere Tony Stark would react to a SO who adores children?
She has great patience and understanding when caring for them, and simply says openly "Yeah well, hahaha, I'd have 6 kids if I could".
We know that Bruce, at this rate, would adopt half the planet if he could. And Tony… well Tony has a soft spot for kids too.
Ohohoho I sure can! You are clever enough to put your finger on a topic that nearly all yanderes adore to have with their darling, children!
I can't help myself so I will do both of them, sorry not sorry! Hehe our father material men both are excellent for being a father. But still there would be different scenarios for different choices if you know what I mean so here we go!
Tumblr media
Bruce Wayne:
You are the perfect one for Bruce, no kidding, you really would fit well into his family. His children are all problematic and try to live on through their problems on their own, even Bruce himself is like this, with you being around he'd be the luckiest superhero on the planet. But it seems life is smiling on him brightly when he finds out about your love for children as if things couldn't get better!
In general, you two will have so many different charities for orphans, and you'd be allowed to legally adopt and support children remotely and be able to help them study and find jobs. If you are willing to have children of your own not only Bruce but the old Alfred would be thrilled. New babies for the family are a miracle to our good Alfred and you'd be cherished like a Saint by him. The boys would love to see more little feet waddle around the manor, even Jason is supportive of this idea. But the one that's even pushing you into having babies is Damian, your boy, who was insisting on you two having children from the start so he could have more blood siblings.
But if you're not into having children of your own, or you're not capable of doing so, it's still a win-win situation for the family. The world is filled with orphan children's super powers or great potential for being great and Bruce would be happy to welcome more children into the family, even if it doesn't please Damian at all. You'll be the mother of countless children, caring for each of them with so much love that in the future they'd remember you as the one who saved the family from the chaos it was falling into.
Tony Stark:
Tony, oh our Tony is not believing his ears when he finds out about your love for children. But when the holiday reminds him of what you had said, the guy is baffled. He must have found out sooner, the signs were there! The way you got along with Peter and other kids around must have been noted by him, how oblivious he could be? But don't worry, he won't let you down, as a man that has a soft spot for children, but can not connect with them well because of his busy schedule, you were his savior.
Charities aside, he'd love to have children with you, having a family always has been on his to-do list but he couldn't put it in his schedule, well, until you came along. The Stark family will grow and flourish because of you, and since you mild down Tony's anxieties and give him something more than his creations to spend time with, Tony would be a better man, not to mention how much he needs someone to stop him from being too reckless.
Even if having children of your own is not an option, Tony would be happy to adopt children. He has so much money that he could buy a country, he can support as many as children he wants, but there's only one condition, Peter has to be the first one on the adoption list, even if he's going to be an adult, Tony wants Peter to be under your wing and be supported emotionally by you. You're his savior angel, and many will remember you as a loving friend and motherly figure to the world.

Thinking about that ask you got with principal Bruce and student Tim and imagine when (bc it's a when, not an if lmao) Tim gets pregnant
He's in a low budget school now, so teen pregnancy is sadly common, but Tim is so tempted to drop out, sick of the judging stares and the stress of school work
But Bruce has him stay, just so he can watch Tim's belly swell with each passing month, see his little slut waddle the halls of the school, and at every given opportunity, Bruce has Tim bent over a desk or pressed up against a wall so he can fuck into his tight, pregnant pussy
I imagine Bruce also gets custody of Tim, like as a foster parent? Maybe even adopts him so that he can have easier access to Tim's pussy. He also "adopts" Tim's baby so that he can keep them close, and no one finds it strange, not even when summer break hits and by the time school has started again, Tim has another bump steadily growing under his sweater
Just another little whore, failed by the public school system. No one suspects that it's his principal/foster/adopted dad who keeps Tim nice and full of cum and babies for the rest of his school career and beyond!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!! tim gets pregnant and no one bats an eye because there's always some "teen slut" dropping out of school or attending classes with a pregnant belly and tim is no different but...teachers who had seen his "potential" express their disappointment that tim was no different from the other "future slut drop outs".
tim's foster family is very unhappy to learn of his pregnancy, he hears them argue late at night while tim lies awake in the room her shares with their snoring, youngest son. the husband wants to send tim away because neither of them signed up to deal with a baby, they were just looking for a free babysitter. but the wife has a soft spot for tim, apparently, she'd been a pregnant teen as well. either way, tim having a place at his current foster home is tenuous at best the further along he gets.
bruce finds out, mostly because he's nosy and makes a personal "home visit" to check out where tim is staying and he is very unhappy with what he finds. which is tim being a live-in babysitter.
bruce is already a registered foster parent and as the principle of the school tim attends, it catches a bit of media attention when it gets out that bruce is going to adopt one of his students, his very pregnant young teen student at that.
it's in all the papers and on the news- tim even gets interviewed asked about how he feels and he can't deny he's a bit excited. tim babbles on about how bruce had taken him baby shopping for clothes when he found out he was going to have a baby, that bruce always checked up onhim, brought him nice lunches, and kept him company in his office. a bunch of students try telling the reporters that the two of them are sleeping together but no one believes them because this is a miracle, a feel-good savior story and that doesn't fit in with the narrative that's been built.
tim never winds up having to take time off school because he gives birth after classes have ended for the year. the baby is precious and small and bruce never stops doting on their little baby. bruce adopting tim has done wonders for his image and gotham is even talking about giving the school more funding from all the press the school has gotten so bruce is very happy about that. tim is just happy he has his own room to be able to feed his little baby because his foster brother had been a little nosy and tim had no doubt he would've stared with wide-eyed everytime tim pressed a tit to his baby's mouth.
tim starts a new school in the fall. a private school, the one that dick and jason had attended when they went to live with bruce. bruce might be the principal of one of the worst-performing schools in the district but he can afford to put his children into better facilities!!! tim is back in the type of school he was used to attending before his parents died but before long its obvious he's pregnant once again.
the teachers at his school just shake their heads and sigh that that's just what happens when kids from....those types of schools come here. new home, new father, new school or not- tim's just another poor little whore who just can't help spreading his slut legs and giving it up to any boy who gives him a little bit of attention. of course he'd end up pregnant again in less than a year, some things just don't change no matter who his adopted father is.
poor principal wayne. he really had his work cut out for him.

DC Holiday Special 2017 #1 - wouldn't it be nice if DC got back to some sort of consistent naming pattern?
The Reminder - Constantine & Superman. Constantine gets thrown out of a bar for being drunk and dour. Clark doubts Superman can change anything while the barkeeper tells him all the great things Supes has done over the past day. Supes then invites Constantine home to see the family.
'Twas the Night Before Christmas - Batman. OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS A DENNY STORY!!! And wow is it ever a Denny story, we have ghosts and all (where's the Order of St Dumas, Denny, I know you wanted to shove them in too). Storywise, Bruce is tracking down (in a blizzard) a couple who've been kidnapped and held at gunpoint by a man haunted by his dead grandmother, after they both died/almost died in the snow due to the couple, years ago. Bruce stops this.
You Better Think Twice - Green Arrow & Black Canary. Ollie dresses up as Santa ever year for the orphans. Dinah is sceptical that this is helpful. The art direction pretends Sin exists in this story for a page and my heart melts even though that is 100% not Sin.
Tumblr media
Not Sin. But Dinah is missing her.
Tumblr media
Going Down Easy! - Sgt. Rock. Because what is a Christmas Special if I don't have to read Sgt. Rock stories for some reason.
Amazingly, this is the Hanukkah story for the year! Varying it up. An American Jewish soldier, after being shot, holds on and lives for 8 nights with the German soldier who shot him, until Sgt Rock and his troops arrive. (Then he dies). This is a miracle of faith.
Hope for the Holidays - Flash. Wally just wants to give Barry his Christmas present. Barry gets distracted fighting crime and then taking everyone at the snowed in airport to their destinations. But eventually, he finds time to make it to see Wally in Titans Tower.
A Wilson Family Christmas - Deathstroke.
Aw yeah Adeline's here. Shoot Slade, Adeline! (Tragically she does not even though she threatens to). So is Grant, because we're in a flashback. Anyway Slade is looking for a bomb in a pile of donated presents (and a Santa dies), the rest of the Wilsons come off the road in a carcrash in the snow, Adeline doesn't believe a word Slade says, it's all very them. Also somehow Grant, who was driving, DIDN'T wipe himself out at this point. Survived the teen car accident only to die stupidly fighting the Titans. Way to go kid.
Driver's Seat - Lois & Clark. For some reason this was skipped by the DCUI file. Lois' first car gets totalled in a car accident, which she's broken up about because she wasn't ready to say goodbye. Clark rescues the driver's seat and steering wheel for her, then takes her flying in the seat.
Silent Night - Atomic Knights. I...do not know the Atomic Knights. I vaguely remember something about them in Final Night. It appears to be an alternate timeline?
The community protected by the Knights is worried about the 'Trefoils', a set of walking trees who frankly look like Triffid ripoffs. The village wants to burn them down even though they used to be part of the community. But the Trefoils actually brought a Christmas Tree for everyone! The Spirit of Christmas lives.
Holiday Spirit - Teen Titans. The team fights Three Ghosts similar to those in A Christmas Carol, except the goals of the ghosts is to make everyone depressed by feasting on their memories of Christmas. But Kory doesn't have memories of Christmas (I squint at this and go 'sure, that sounds wrong, haven't you been on Earth for at least 5-6 years now? but I guess we're still untangling timelines')
Then the team make new Christmas memories together.
The Echo of the Abyss - Swamp Thing. Uh. In a future? The space station Archer has been on quarantine for 6 months, with a possible nuclear war on earth. One of the crew gets out some mistletoe to try and cheer people up, then loses it in the face of certain death and decides to kill everyone on the station. Swamp Thing comes out of the mistletoe (somehow using the Green) and ties him up with vines, replenishes their bio chamber gardens, and gives them a Christmas Tree for hope.
Solstice - Wonder Woman and Batman. Oh FUCK YEAH this is an echo story like they usually do for Bruce and Clark. I am INTO THIS. (Also Greg Rucka and Bilquis Evely team!!) Bruce and Diana reminisce on the importance of making a difference and fighting to help people. Then they come together and build a bonfire for the Solstice as Diana cannot of course go home to do it with the other Amazons, as we are in Rucka Rebirth era.
Tumblr media
The Silent Night of the Batman - Batman. Reprint of Batman #219, this is great, if you haven't read it yet you should.
Total real Santas? None.
Total times I got irritated by plot points in these stories: you don't want to know.
Times my heart melted: fakeout Sin and the Bruce & Diana story.

Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns (c) (WWE Wrestlemania 40 Night 2)
Why did he thank Bruce Prichard?
Tumblr media
Alright, enough time passed. I can't see myself writing or covering anything related to the Federation for many reasons actually. It's a miracle I'm writing this because this match and this rivalry have caught my eye for a long time now, not because of the reasons all of you think. I've been really honest with how I see Cody Rhodes in all of this, and I've been vocal about him being the "third best Rhodes". I didn't want to write this in Wrestlemania season because I would have come out like the one that ruins the fun, or the party pooper. The thing about this match is that I didn't care about it because of the story or because of the "cinema", I cared about this match because of my friends.
Not so long ago I had a conversation with a friend of mine and we were talking about WWE and how is it that people continue watching it considering the allegations, the lawsuit, and every single thing hidden behind this megalomaniac monster that rules pro-wrestling in its entirety. This friend told me something that got in my head and it was that:
"The Vince McMahon allegations don't have anything to do with the #WeWantCody movement."
With that in mind, I decided to give this rivalry a second shot, mainly because I was taken aback by the fact that this could be a way to make people forget about the lawsuit, but I decided to shut up and tune in. Not because of these guys, but because of the fact that I was seeing a lot of people happy with wrestling, and I guess that made me realize that maybe this thing was better than I thought.
I found myself hyped for this, and to show it I decided to compare Cody to one of my favorite heroes in media, this being Simon the Digger. I thought their stories were similar, to say the least. That helped me understand Cody and his goal. What he stood for, and how many people were there to support him, even if they were not going to be credited for doing so (The Elite)
I saw the whole event with some friends I made a while ago and it was a great experience mainly because of that. I realized watching wrestling alone is something that changes your perception of it so much that it helps you understand why whatever you're watching could be good. And this match I think is the perfect example of what I'm saying because I don't believe I liked this match because of what it offered. I liked it because of what it made my friends feel. Pro wrestling is about emotions, right? You don't get that far without making people at least somewhat interested in your journey, and while Cody is not the perfect babyface by any means, there's a thing about his story that just resonates with people, despite him being the guy with the suit and the corporative smirk. This idea of Cody as the hero could be something that some believe, but it's also something that many reject for obvious reasons. I mean, when you paint a babyface you don't necessarily think of someone like Cody Rhodes. The Homelander-esque attire doesn't help either.
The thing about this match is that it's like a sickness. It's contagious, it's a match that can't be watched alone. It's a match that lives in the moment.
Does this mean this match is good?
Fuck no. I think this match is not meant to be good technically, is meant to be the most crisp example of an Attitude Era main event in modern wrestling, because the match itself is meant to be a clusterfuck. I don't want to fall into comparisons of such, but this match shares the same premise behind something like Rock vs. Mankind: You don't want to watch this match because of technical prowess, or psychology. You want to watch this match to see a guy win, by any means. Of course, you can't compare both main events because one of them has a babyface that looks and feels like a babyface, but you get the idea.
The thing about this match is that I'm conscious of the fact that if I see this alone I would not like it, because I don't feel the same kind of connection with all of these guys appearing as others do. Like, if I watched this match alone I would not pop for known cops supporter Mark Calaway. Come on guys.
But I'm here to talk about one of my main issues with this match and Wrestlemania as a whole. From the beginning to the end this match is a masturbatory tribute to Triple H. The match that is meant to "finish the story" turns into the most blatant and obvious Hunter Hearst Helmsley-esque spectacle because this motherfucker knows he can do whatever the hell he wants now and people would like it because he's the booker and he made The Bloodline or whatever the fuck.
This match could hit harder, it really could, but I think the premise falls apart. Cody finishes the story, and he gets to change the world by making The Elite the first faction to have won the IWGP Title, the AEW Title and the WWE Title. But this is a WWE main event. We're talking about a company that loves its revisionism as much as it loves its Saudi money. In no scenario could The Elite actually be credited for making Cody a star, in fact, people now believe Cody was the star of The Elite when is not hard to go back to 2018 and compare the pops between Cody and Kenny Omega in the G1 Special.
The thing I hate about this match is how it wants to rewrite history and paint Cody as THE babyface, ignoring the real story behind it all. Because when I said The Elite was responsible for all of this, people rejected what I was saying and decided to believe "this match was not about The Elite". It was about the history of WWE, the company that is found to have various allegations and charges against them. Some of those charges relate to BRUCE PRICHARD, the guy who takes the spotlight in the Main Event because in the heat of Cody's celebration, and in the moment where he could thank his peers, his mother, or maybe his father (due to the fact this story is built around Dusty) the first thing he does is thank the office, and thank Bruce Prichard.
So much for a babyface, huh?

Sorry but just had a fic idea I think you'd appreciate.
Long story short, its when Bruce & the boys were on their holiday, Steph comes back to Gotham and surprises Slade before he can kidnap Cass letting them bail.
Bruce and the boys come back early & Leslie's 'faked' autopsy report and such come to light and while Cass (Who is more feeling something is sus than angry) & especially Tim have some complicate feelings them seem OK with things going back to normal.
But Batman kidnapped Green Arrow, so of course he'll want to do tests. Stephanie seems to avoid being alone with him under any circumstances though and he does recall her being able to sneak up on him so sneaking up on her is hard without a fight.
So, cos Alfred's softened on her a bit and she's willing to take food from her... Well she ends up drugged and knocked out as it wasn't taking its full effects. Cue Bruce's invasive medical inspections starting and stopping not long after.
Cos one, Steph's body is just a mass of scar tissue, ruined nerve endings and flayed muscles, Its a miracle she can move without screaming let alone fight as well as she can. Two, he's quick to find the autopsy scars; cos it turns out she did die, but Leslie put her on ice once she was no longer having a breakdown, injected venom into her brain later and basically went, as Steph or Jason would say "Dr Frankenstein on my insides."
Cue Bruce kind of having a breakdown in various different ways and Steph also being violently angry in a "Who gave that bastard the right!?" kind of way. Not sure after that.
Ohhhh myyyy goddddd 😭 Leslie resurrecting Steph through science, Steph showing up to save Cass like nobody was able to do for her, something wrong with Steph/what Leslie did to her as they feel the need to hide it... Like, say, what are Venom's side-effects, huh?
Or do they want to keep it hush hush bc they're afraid of the shady government organization?
Or is it her being de-anoned after her death, with the memorial service and all that plot, makes her want to keep some control over what over people know about her? Or she's just - the process of coming back was so traumatic that she literally blocks it all out, even came up with a story of helping Leslie in Africa? And, like, she believes it herself.
Or maybe Bruce just doesn't deserve to know it. And he proves it, by using Stephanie's trust to Alfred to drug her and basically vivisect her.
Just, remind me, was that before Jason's comeback or after, I am bad with timelines. But inserting Red Hood into this plot - like maybe he is the one who helps Steph to sneak out of the Bat-lab. "From one undead creature to another".
Or should it be Cass? It took her time, but she finally accepted that she doesn't care how Steph is back, the most important thing she's back.
There's like. So much that you can do with this!!!

Paul Krassner … in 1963 created a miracle of compressed intelligence nearly as admirable for potent simplicity, in my opinion, as Einstein’s e=mc2. With the Vietnam War going on, and with its critics discounted and scorned by the government and the mass media, Krassner put on sale a red, white and blue poster that said FUCK COMMUNISM. At the beginning of the 1960s, FUCK was believed to be so full of bad magic as to be unprintable. COMMUNISM was to millions the name of the most loathsome evil imaginable. To call an American a communist was like calling somebody a Jew in Nazi Germany. By having FUCK and COMMUNISM fight it out in a single sentence, Krassner wasn’t merely being funny as heck. He was demonstrating how preposterous it was for so many people to be responding to both words with such cockamamie Pavlovian fear and alarm.
Kurt Vonnegut quoted in a post by Jason Schafer in Dangerous Minds. Cagnitive Dissonance: Paul Krassner's 'Fuck Communism' Banner, 1963.
The last few weeks at work I've done little else at work other than load bags of mulch into people's vehicles. An awful lot of guys my age are dicks. Some of them have 'Fuck Biden" bumper stickers on their Yank tanks. I've known for a long time sayiing that I'm an old hippie doesn't mean what I think it means. A whole lot of people really hate hippies. And the Biden bumper sticker and Krassner's banner gets to a part of what people think they don't tlike about hippies.
"Fuck Biden' isn't funny today because the F-word simply doesn't have the same "bad magic." I do suspect that people sporting the sticker sense of specter of humor, Lenny Bruce or George Carlin's 'Seven Words'. But nobody finds 'Fuck Biden' funny, it's merely mean and crass. It's the cruelty that titilates.
I do sometimes visit The Realist Archive. I don't know what people today will make of it.

soulmate au | daminette
Word Count: +1.8k
summary: tradition says that your soulmate will have another tattoo, something that relates to you. when they meet you, it is said that the tattoos start glowing a bright gold.
ao3 | wattpad | masterlist | prompts
Marinette Dupain-Cheng stared at her soulmate tattoo. It was a drawing of a katana with a drawing of a robin.
Tradition says that your soulmate will have another tattoo, something that relates to you. When they meet you, it is said that the tattoos start glowing a bright gold. Though, it's also tradition to have only one drawing. Marinette wasn't sure what to think of that. Something like 'Of course her soulmate bond would be different. Why was she even surprised?' or what?
She sighed as she listened to Lila spew out her crap to her 'oh-so-sweet friends' quoting Lila of course. Marinette snorted when she heard Lila's newest lie. "Oh you know Damian Wayne is my soulmate? My drawing is of a dollar sign. He even sent me a letter telling me how much he loved me but I don't know where it's gone. I left it over there-" she blabbered, pointing at Marinette's desk. "-I don't know where it's gone."
Marinette could see she was not-so-subtly pinning the blame on her but there was nothing she could do about it. Her gullible followers, Alya, Rose and Mylene glared at her for 'stealing' Lila's absolutely real letter from a celebrity who probably doesn't even know her name.
Really the only people who didn't believe Lila were Nino, Kim, Max, Alix and Chloe. Nino found out when he tried to find proof for his ex-girlfriend's blog as people were saying Lie-la was lying. Kim and Alix found out when she claimed to know some celebrity who died 5 years ago. Chloe already knew, she just didn't give a damn about the class. Though she did apologize to Marinette for her behavior.
She, Alix and Marinette were quickly becoming best friends. They told each other literally everything. Issues, jokes, crushes everything. Speaking of crushes, Marinette's unhealthy crush on Adrien died out quickly when she learned what a coward he was. Really. He was willing to let her take the blame to 'keep the class happy' because they were totally going to be happy when they realized Lie-la had been, indeed, lying.
At any rate, Lila's latest lie was probably because of their class trip to Gotham. Marinette was the one who signed up and won the trip but Lila (of course, when hasn't she ruined something?) took the credit for it saying "Oh you know, I asked Bruce to tour us around because we're such close friends..." Yadda, yadda, yadda.
Marinette jumped when Kim suddenly said "Yo Mari! 10 euros Lie-la's lying about one of the Waynes."
Marinette grinned at him and retorted "I'm not taking such a stupid bet Kim. You and I both know she definitely is."
Chloe gave a haughty sniff as they left the school and said "Of course she is. I cannot believe the sheep believe that...actually scratch that. I can. But I can't believe Sabrina would believe something like that. She knows Damian Wayne is cold." It was no secret Chloe was hurt by Sabrina's abandonment of her.
"And did you even hear what Lie-la said? She was like Me and Damiboo are soulmates. He's such a sweetheart, always buying me gifts." Alix chimed in, doing a remarkable imitation of Lila.
Marinette snorted at that. "Hey guys, do you wanna come to the bakery to pack? We're leaving tomorrow anyway."
Everyone nodded excitedly.
◇─◇──◇─◇
The next day, at the airport....
Marinette was so excited to go, she couldn't even keep still. Tikki and Kaalki giggled at her enthusiasm. As Marinette was the Guardian now, she could take whatever miraculous she wanted. She also had the miracle box inside her suitcase, just to be safe.
She was so lost in thought, she nearly jumped out of her skin when Alix saw her and yelled "Hey Mari! Come on, we're about to leave right now!"
Marinette rushed over to her friends and walked with them to the desk while Lila's sheep followed her. Nino joked with her as they walked and said "Wow, Mari's actually on time for once."
She laughed at him and shot back "Oh hush you, I'm perfectly capable of being on time."
Max snorted at that. He said "According to my data you have been late 98% of the time, so-"
He was rudely interrupted by Lila, who was holding pieces of paper. She simpered "Oh Marinette, I'm so sorry for you, but your ticket is completely spoilt. You can't possibly go now!"
Alya sneered at her and said "Good riddance!"
The lady at the counter, seeing her issue, said "That's no problem, we have one extra seat in the first class, your classmate can sit there. It's on the house too. That's no issue right?" she asked Marinette.
Marinette smiled gratefully at her and said "No, of course not!"
She stifled a giggle when she saw Lila's face turning into an...interesting shade of purple.
◇─◇──◇─◇
After the plane landed in Gotham, the class went together, to the bus that would take them to their hotel. Thank Kwami Lila didn't try anything else. They were each given their own rooms, and as class representative, Marinette got to have a room on her own.
Lila kicked up a fuss about that. She whined to the hotel manager "But I need a room for myself because I have diseases."
The hotel manager rolled his eyes at her and replied calmly "I'm sorry ma'am but you were supposed to write that in the folder that was given to us. As you didn't Ms Dupain-Cheng will be getting the room."
Lila stomped her foot - actually stomped her foot - and flounced off to her room with her flunkies following her. Alix and Kim burst out laughing at her 3-year-old tantrum as they were walking to their rooms.
When Marinette entered hers, she looked around. It wasn't too small, with plain cream walls and light furniture scattered around. Tikki and Kaalki flew out of her bag as she changed and dropped into bed like a stone.
Jetlag was a pain.
◇─◇──◇─◇
Marinette woke up to the sounds of Tikki and Kaalki yelling at her to get up. When she saw the time she shrieked and ran around getting ready as fast as possible. Her class was supposed to leave in 5 minutes!
Once she was ready, she took off like a shot, down the stairs into the hall, Tikki's luck preventing her from tripping down and breaking a bone. She arrived in time only to see the bus taking off without her.
Marinette let out a breath of frustration. She couldn't believe the class just left without her. When she opened her phone for directions to WE, she saw the multitude of texts Alix and Chloe had sent her. Apparently, Lila had convinced Ms Bustier to change the timing and she claimed to have 'informed' Marinette. So, Ms Bustier being the incompetent teacher she is, left without Marinette.
Marinette glared at the screen while she waited for the directions to come up. She blew out a sigh of relief when she saw WE was only a few blocks away.
She ran, following the directions. When she finally reached WE she saw Ms Bustier arguing with a handsome man who was saying "Ma'am, I'm sorry but we cannot start the tour without your last student-"
Alya, ever the polite one, interrupted and said "But Marinette's always late, can't we just start without her?"
Another shorter man, about her age, but equally handsome with dark green eyes said "No we cannot and she's not late. You are early." and he walked off.
Unfortunately, Marinette was running in his direction and crashed into him.
Marinette apologized profusely, while helping the man up. "I'm so, so, so sorry Monsieur, I was running late for my class and I was in a hurry so-"
Her rambling stopped abruptly when she saw her soulmate tattoo (the katana) was glowing gold.
The man - her soulmate! - smiled at her and said "It seems that you are my soulmate. My name is Damian. Damian Wayne."
Marinette smiled at him. A real genuine, bright one - one that hadn't been seen in months. She breathed out "Hi Damian, my name is Marinette. Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
◇─◇──◇─◇
Damian Wayne was not having a good morning.
First Father decided he should 'interact' with people more of his age so he was required to go with Grayson to the WE tour. Really wasn't Kent enough?
Then, he sees the people of the class from France, save for a few, are ridiculously stupid. For god's sake they believe a liar when she says she has 'tinnitus' from saving Jagged Stone's cat!
And then their stupid teacher left a student behind. In Gotham. The most crime-ridden city in the world. Clearly she was not capable of being a teacher.
Grayson was currently arguing with her saying ""Ma'am, I'm sorry but we cannot start the tour without your last student-"
When he was interrupted by the liar's flunky saying "But Marinette's always late, can't we just start without her?"
Damian glared at her. If it was up to him, she and the most of the class with her would be kicked out. He gritted his teeth and replied as politely as he could "No we cannot and she's not late. You are early."
And he walked, Father be damned. He would not tour such an idiotic and manner less class. He had better things to do. As he was about to leave something - no, something - crashed into him and started apologizing profusely in accented English. The voice suddenly stopped and when Damian looked at his drawing of a ladybug and needle he suddenly saw why.
She was his soulmate.
He looked down at the petite girl in front of him and his breath hitched when he saw he beautiful bluebell eyes. Damian smiled at her and introduced himself. He said "It seems that you are my soulmate. My name is Damian. Damian Wayne."
She smiled at him - it was truly beautiful, he would like to draw it sometime - and replied "Hi Damian, my name is Marinette. Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
Damian ignored the class' shouting at the sausage haired girl when they heard that. It seemed that they had figured out she was a liar. Whatever. He held out his arm to his soulmate and asked her "Shall we?"
She smiled at him sweetly and linked her arm with his. "We shall."
BONUS:
Marinette: I still don't understand why there was a drawing of a robin on my arm.
Damian *sheepishly*: Uhh..habibti...I wanted to tell you...I'm actually Robin.
Marinette *obliviously*: Like the vigilante?
Damian *nods*: Yes.
Marinette *smiles at him*: Great! Then I think its a good time to tell you I'm Ladybug! Superhero of Paris and Guardian of the Miraculous!
Damian *suddenly worrying about her*: Have you gotten hurt before? Any wounds? Does anything hurt? Pennyworth! Please bring the first-aid kit!
Marinette *sighs*: Whoops...guess I shouldn't have told you that.

I really love the wish me away au... cant wait for the whole series, also may i ask will adrien try to do something to mari (ike older adrien will try to take her since " he love her" or send her things like a stalker?, will their "real" parents try to fight to get her? or at least talk to her?, will their classmates look for her in social media? what about luka chloe and kagami? are they friends?, and for last, when she grow to the age she was wished away will remember everything and move on?
Okie dokie so I did somewhat answer this in a previous ask but this was asked so long ago and has multiple questions so imma do my best to answer all of them!
•Future Adrien does not send her things, nor does he talk about loving her. At this point he more or less hates the "current" Marinette because she's not his past version of Marinette. He truly doesn't see what he did wrong so he never accepted that Marinette didn't consider them friends anymore before the final battle took place. Then finding out his beloved Ladybug was his "friend" he was ecstatic to get his happily ever after from the wish and start a relationship with Marinette.
But then the Wish happened and it completely messed everything up. He doesn't know that Mari remembers her past life. Sometimes he suspects but really he doesn't start believing it until he hears about this Madame Miracle. He comes to the conclusion that it has to be Mari and she has to remember everything and that just makes him hate her more for "denying them their happily ever after."
At this point he does have his own business, a modeling agency, and he tries to get Marietta Wayne to be one of his models so he can get closer to her, but only as a means to steal whatever Miraculi she has on her. His offers keep being refused so he will at some point start to stalk and up his game so to speak.
• Tom and Sabine did try to fight for Mari in the courts but their case was quickly thrown out. Even if most courts now take on cases dealing with magic and there are magical beings and magical metahumans, there is one think Tom and Sabine's case lack. Proof. Even if a case is magical, there will always be some sort of evidence.
John Constantine had even been called to investigate the matter because Tom and Sabine wouldn't let up and so he agreed. He agreed because he knew he was about to shoot down any further attempt the two could take legally to get Marietta from Bruce. It was his first time back in Paris after the Djinn incident but once he set foot in Paris he could automatically feel the residual magic left behind by Karma.
Basically he tells Tom and Sabine, as well as the courts who were handling the cases, along with the Waynes. That yes he felt magical energy, but it was a left over energy and merely proved that magic had been active at some point. And he basically states that if Marietta had been this Marinette girl she would definitely have some Magic on her but point blank states she has none and even goes as far as to say he's willing to bring in Wonder Woman so he can say that on her lasso.
After that? Tom and Sabine really don't have a leg to stand on and they have no one to really turn to except Adrien who contacts them as Chat Noir and swears to bring their daughter back.
• Some classmates do follow her on her social medias, some because they just like this growing fashion icon, they don't remember her mind you so they really only follow her because she's a small celebrity. Others did follow her but she blocks them any and every time they make new accounts to try and talk to her about being Marinette.
• Luka and Kagami remain friends but that's kind of up in the air, not because they fight or anything! But because an ask made me think about Marinette and Luka and how their relationship is really freaking sad in this AU and how I might maybe, very slightly, might be considering Fluff and Them deciding to Bless the two of them and basically Luka would also be aged down so the two could find one another in their later lives. But again, idk, I'm just contemplating this.
If that doesn't happen, then yes Luka and Kagami remain close friends, along with Marc, Nathaniel, Aurore, and Mireille.
Chloe is friends with Marc and Nathaniel but she moves from Paris with her family after the whole broadcast and everything that followed. She and Kagami are polite to one another and consider each other acquaintances. It's not because they dislike each other or anything, it's just they never became close before Chloe's move and afterwards they rarely see one another and neither really knows how to reach out to the other.
• Mari already remembered so as she grows it doesn't really affect her. I mean mentally it does because she doesn't like remembering her past life with so much clarity, but it's not holding her back in anyway.
She has very much moved on. It's just the memories do bring some pain and sadness for her that she wishes she forgot but she does not want to ask any magic user to help her with it. The thought of the magic for that going wrong scares her too much to ever even think of asking anyone let alone the kwamis.

You Found Me 2/2
Bruce Wayne X Wife! Reader
Batmom! Reader
Warnings: anxiety, fluff, and so much wholeness
Words:1008
Batmom brings little Terry home without a encounter of course this does not last long
Tumblr media
With Terry still sleeping in my arm's. I step through the hallway to the linen closet. I halted as I see Alfred. He gently smiled. To be honest I'm sure he's used to this.
"Ms Y/N may I assist you?"
"thanks Alfie" I gratefully whispered
He takes a small blanket the same blanket that everyone loves. The children will fight for..literally. We step into the family room. I sit on the chair still holding the sleeping boy. Alfred lays the blanket on us. He smiles and then departs. I gently rub his head. My daughter Stephanie steps in. She gasps covering her face with the widest smile ever. I swiftly put my index finger to my lips telling her to be quiet.
"he's so so so cute! Where did you find him? Are we keeping him? Please tell me we're keeping him!" she whispered with enthusiasm
Cassandra steps in she gently smiled and waved to me. I wave back.
"Cass isn't this the most adorable little boy you've ever seen! I mean I sure as hell hope he won't threaten to stab me" she chuckled as I tilt my head to her giving her the 'be nice' look.
"precious indeed" Cassandra softly said with a genuine smile
Both my girl's sit on the couch. I then hear footsteps and see Jason steps in his eyes widen, as if he recognized the child. He clears his throat forcing a straight face.
"holy shit you found him" he said with a relief to his voice
"start explaining Ginormica!" Stephanie demanded
"a few weeks ago I ran into the kid.. Long story short we got separated from each other. I've been looking for him for a while" he explained with a gruff, because he truly let his sweet side show
Jason plopped on the couch with the girl's. Then Damian enters the room with an utterly shocked look on his face.
"say hello to your replacement kid" Jason mocked
I scold Jason by pinching his hand. He extended his hand upward in pain. I look at my youngest and hold his hand. He remained stiff.
"sweetie he was alone in the rain.. No one was there for him. Don't think for a second anyone is getting replaced" I assured with a softness to my tone
"tt" Damian simply said "I understand fully mother"
He departs from my hand and sits by Cassandra. Then my second loudest and oldest child enters the room. He scoffed as Barbara steps in.
"a new member of the Batfamily and you guys didn't tell me!" Grayson explained
"shhh!!" everyone but Grayson said
"my bad" he whispered "he's really cute Mom"
"he's so adorable" Barbara mumbled "I can't believe there's gonna be another little guy around"
"are you really that surprised? It might as well be normal now" Grayson softly laughed
Both Babs and Grayson sit in the loveseat by the couch. Then coming from his room finally Timothy. He gently smiled and chuckled.
"you weren't kidding babe" he told Steph
He steps to Steph and takes her hands. He sits back on her spot and sits her in his lap. Timmy then gently waves to me, I wave back. All my children here with a little one to hold. I like this. Their all quiet. That's a miracle. Just watch I think that and then two of them get in a fight. Terry will wake up and freak out with all the people in the room.
"how come he gets THE blanket" Jay offended with a smirk and extends his arms upward
I gently chuckle shaking my head. I can't stay mad at any of them. As night came my children depart for patrol. Each of them telling me goodbye in their own way. I slowly feel myself falling into a deep sleep. I force my tired eyes open. So sleepy. Alfred enters the room.
"I have been requested to assist Master Bruce and I've taken the liberty of preparing the bed for you and the young chap" Alfred said gently as to not wake the sleeping child.
"Alfred you are a saint of a man. Thank you" I gratefully said
"your quite welcome. Please tell me if needed be of anything Ms"
"I will" I nodded with a yawn
"have a pleasant night's rest Ms Y/N" Alfred said
I smile in response, he departs. I stand before I fall asleep. I take him to my bedroom. The room dark with the only source of light from the lamp on my nightstand. I lay Terry on the bed with the blanket. I can't imagine how long it's been since he's slept this good. Out there in the streets all alone in the rain. It makes my heart sick. I kiss his forehead. I grab my folded pajamas on the end of the bed. I step to the bathroom. I really hope he doesn't wake up. I swiftly change and come back. Terry sound asleep, I let a breath of relief and turn the lamp off. I lay under the covers. He yawns turning around and snuggled up to me warming my heart. I wrap my arms around him his head rested on the crook of my neck....... I feel movement in the bed, little Terry not laying with me. I turn the lamp on. I open my eyes and sit upward with Terry. He frightfully grabs my arm tightly. My heart sinks. I look seeing my husband. Bruce's eyebrows scrunch and eyes wide and face agape. He wore his bat-suit without his cowl.
"don't get used to that funny looking face" I told Terry with a laugh, resulting him to relax a slight bit more
Bruce's expression remained in utter shock. He then closes his mouth and gazes to me. What is he thinking? Why is he always so hard to read?
"hey you told me I should learn more from you! I can proudly say that I have" I defended, then my husband surprises me again as he smiles
