Book Suggestions...
Does anyone have suggestions for a good book. Taking a break from a series and just need something in between. I enjoy fantasy and horror, but am open minded to other genres.

I'm back on tumblr with a 5th url
So i made another tumblr after not being on this website for years in hopes to use this one to enjoy as a bookblr? is that what it's called these days? it's been 10 years. I've been reading a shit ton of hades x Persephone the last month between the Lore Olympus graphic novels and the ATOD series. I also ordered the ACOTAR boxset so I'm hoping to enjoy that content soon as well. Most of the time i read horror/psychological thrillers & some bildungsroman's. The past few years i've read books like
The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix All My Mothers by Joanna Glen After Sappho by Selby Wynn Schwartz Her Body & Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado Daddy by Emma Cline Betty by Tiffany McDaniel Slewfoot by Brom Weyward by Emilia Hart Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh The Rabbit Hutch by Tess Gunty Vladimir by Julia May Jonas Cleopatra and Frankenstein by Coco Mellors Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll Big Swiss by Jen Beagin Fair Rosaline by Natasha Solomons Annie Bot by Sierra Greer
& all the Lore Olympus Graphic Novels & i'm on the 4th ATOD Novel by Scarlett St. Clair - A Game of Retribution. I'm looking for book recs and fanfic, and friends and friends to add me on goodreads as well! <3 goodreads.com/honeybeewoman

Book Review for Love Always, Scott
Tumblr media
FYI: While this is technically number 6 in the series, it is a prequel novella. You need to read all five books before you get to this one or you will have no idea what's going on (and will have missed out on ONE HECK of a series!)
I am going to be completely transparent - I had to emotionally prepare myself BEFORE I even started reading this book/novella. As the warning at the beginning states, if you have read all five books - you know what happens. By this point, loyal readers have had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with Scott through his letters, flashbacks, and shared moments from his friends and family. For me, I could feel it in my heart that I wasn’t prepared to read his story with Darian, knowing the love they shared and how it all ends. Obviously I got past that but I can honestly say this was the first time I was nervous and anxious PRIOR to starting a book.
This story was beyond beautiful. Having read the previous books, we received more insight on briefly mentioned moments. We knew Scott and Darian met at the library but to see how that whole scene played out and how Cassandra played a role in it (and was a pivotal character in a lot of their sweet tale) was fulfilling. We got more background on what happened with Nelson, the origin of Reagan and Harley names, why Scott was the ONLY person allowed to call Cassandra "Cassie", and just the overall magic that created the foundation of an epic love story/tragedy that birthed a phenomenal series.
I knew this book was going to wreck me and it did. AK Landow even threw in one of Scott’s classic letters to make sure we didn’t stand a chance of walking away unscathed. It makes Darian’s pain and loss so much more palatable than it was before and Cassandra’s role so much more essential than we realized. I am so happy AK will continue with this lovable group of characters. I’m not ready to walk away just yet.

[#BookReview] A Bright and Blinding Sun - An amazing true story of a 14 year-old soldier who fought on Bataan in WW2 and became a POW after it fell. His life story of ups and downs is nothing short of incredible. Like in his other wonderful books, I love how @marcusbrotherton draws out the gritty realities of the human condition and reveals the power of hope and redemption that is available even in the darkest depths. A great read especially with Thanksgiving and Christmas season coming soon. #ABrightandBlindingSun #MilitaryEnthusiast #MilitaryHistory #MilitaryGeek #USArmy #WW2 #WorldWar2books #WorldWar2Library #BataanDeathMarch #POW #MilitaryHistoryBooks #Books #InstaLibrary #BookRecommendations #BookSuggestions #ww2books #WW2History #MarcusBrotherton #PlanesPatchesPeople (at Singapore / Singapura / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர்) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkA-OaUhxNU/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

“It was strange. The thought of leaving Earth. There was so much history there, 4.5 billion years’ worth. It permeated in the air and the soil. Even the moon would be left behind to keep its cold, lonely vigil. But the world would go on, humanity but a footnote long forgotten as their works were pulled back down into the crust and reformed into something new. The planet's rocky plates would continue to shift and bend over an ocean of molten stone forming new lands never to be seen by human eyes. The seas would retreat from some shores, while drowning others in its fluid mass. All the while new life would flourish, continuing the great chain of life. And the Earth would never once miss those who called themselves homo sapiens, ‘wise man.’” -HELLO DEFIANT www.searosspub.com/hello-defiant #hellodefiant #houndofendtown #endtown #scout #postapocalyptic #postapocalypticworld #postapocalypse #postapocalypticart #endoftheworld #space #novel #scifi #sciencefiction #fiction #literature #books #bookstoread #booksuggestions (at Stone Oak) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgAUHF4LV20/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I just finished this book called we'll fly away by Bryan Bliss
wow this book left me speechless. Beautiful story mixed of friendship, love, betrayal, etc. A story about two best friends Luke and Toby who both had it tough growing up. Abusive parents, etc, but they would always have each other. They couldn't wait to get out of there town, away from everyone in till they made some choices that changed there life forever.
It was a pretty long book, 407 pages to be exact, probably the longest book I have read so far, but every chapter, page counted, reading there life, growing up, the things they had to face, in till it lead to the end of there life together. The story just kept getting more interesting, your left wondering what's going to happen next, anything really could happen. Pretty good book overall, I really loved it and there storys.
I love how new characters appeared in the book and started being one of many main characters but it never became like to much characters idk if that made sense and how each character slowly started to come into there lifes, like it didn't feel rushed at all which thats what I like. Type of book I could read over and over again and still love it. Overall just a beautiful story about two boys, storys filled with there adventure, loves, betrayal, friendship. They were always there for each other which I liked that the most. But there's still many questions I want to know after I read this book but thats okay:)
I definitely learned a lot of stuff while reading this book, and I'm really glad I read it and I definitely recommend this book to y'all!

Wow! She's Alive
Wow! She’s Alive
It’s been forever since I even realized or remembered I had a blog. It’s kind of crazy how fast this year has gone! So, what’s been happening? Hmm… March 10, 2022 … I had subcutaneous ulnar nerve surgery on my elbow. Today, I had another follow-up on it, after doing an FCE. I fou nd out that I need to have an ultrasound on my elbow because I’m still having pain and numbness through-out my arm.…

Book Review for The Chase
Tumblr media
FYI: This was initially a mini review. For that reason, most of it was spoilers. Those have been removed so the review has been extremely consolidated.
When reading a spin-off series (especially one spinning from a well received series), you have higher expectations. You know the ability of the writer, have a solid feel of the strengths and weaknesses, and believe in your heart of hearts that it can only get better. What I am finding, more often than not – is that the spin-off series just can’t live up to the bar set by the original. The Briar U series is an example of that. I suggest the Off Campus Series to anyone who will listen. Kennedy is in exquisite form through every single book. When I started The Chase, I went in thinking I was going to experience the same captivating writing that I had in The Deal (or in The Score which is where we meet Summer for the first time as she is Dean’s little sister). Sadly, it just didn’t come close to it.
Summer and Colin’s story had a little bit of a jump start in The Score when Summer first lays eyes on Fitz and knows she wants him. While Fitz feels the same way, for him - Summer is out of the question. They are just too different and he can’t see past the “fluff” that she presents to the world.
There were a few things that bugged me about this book, which may be why I don’t intend to continue the series. First, for being presented as a carefree, accepting, lovable guy, Fitz is extremely judgmental. The second thing that irked me was how much Summer played with another character's feelings (sentence changed to remove spoiler). The back and forth between Fitz and Summer also felt a little drawn out.
Other than those to things, the rest of the book was ok at best. Once they worked things out, Fitz and Summer were pretty cute together and I loved how protective they were of each other.
Would I recommend the Off Campus series? Without a doubt! Would I recommend the Briar U series, as of right now no but I would tell anyone to read at least the first two books before making a final judgement call. I may take my own advice at some point. Only time will tell.

Book 28 of 2023 The Fox and The Dryad by @skellygraves OMG, I loved this book. The dynamics between Briar and Malric were delicious, the dancing was perfect, the snark and dialogues were *chef's kiss* Briar is a human chasing perfection on the ballet stage, Malric is running from his controlling mum, and their stories intersect in the most fantastic way. Briar has my heart with their sarcasm, and desire for perfection, and slutty, slutty ways. Malric is fey and utter perfection. I was lucky enough that Kellen trusted me with an ARC, and I have to say you have created perfection once again. I love the Rowan Blood world so much. 5 out of 5 stars, with 5 out of 5 🌶 Full swreview on Goodreads and Amazon. Oh, and I have this in the ebook and have ordered the signed paperback from Kellen's Etsy store. #RowanBlood #TheFoxAndTheDryad #BookFlatLay #BookstagramAesthetic #BookstagramFlatLay #BookNerd #GoodReads #BooksOfIG #Books #Bibliophile #Bookish #BookDragon #Bookstagram #BookCommunity #BookSuggestions #BookRecommendations #BookPics #BookLover #ILoveBooks #WhatToRead #ReadThisBook #ReadThis #BookAddict #Bookaholic (at Idaho) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpSwfOWpcsW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
