The death of a beautiful woman is, unquestionably, the most poetical topic in the world.” ― Edgar Allan Poe

Nevermore
In a cold, stony chamber of a once-grand house, now empty and still,
There sits a raven, black as the night, on the windowsill.
With eyes that gleam like lost souls in flight,
It whispers tales of sorrow in the fading light.
"Nevermore," it croaks, with a mournful cry,
A word that echoes in the chambers of my mind.
It perches on a bust, with a solemn air,
As if it knows the weight of my despair.
I ask it questions of life and of love,
But all it answers is "Nevermore, nevermore."
Its feathers, like the darkness of my thoughts,
Are a cloak of mysteries, in which I am caught.
In the silence of the chamber, it is my only friend,
A companion in my solitude, until the bitter end.
Together we dwell in the realm of the forgotten,
Where memories linger, and hearts are often rotten.
So here I sit, with the raven by my side,
In a house that echoes with the whispers of the tide.
And though its words bring a chill to my core,
I find solace in the raven's "Nevermore."

The Enigmatic Grimalkin: Unveiling the Esoteric Significance of a Feline Figurine
Tumblr media
Have you ever heard of the word "grimalkin"? This word, which is not commonly used today, has a long and fascinating history in the English language. In this blog post, we will explore the origins of grimalkin, its usage in literature, its etymology, and its figurative and literal definitions.
History and Usage:
Grimalkin is an old-fashioned term for a female cat, especially an old or ill-tempered one. The word is not often used in modern English, but it has a long history of use in literature, particularly in poetry and folklore.
For example, in Shakespeare's "Macbeth," one of the witches refers to her familiar, a cat named Graymalkin. Similarly, in the English nursery rhyme "Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat," the titular feline is sometimes called a "grimalkin." Other notable uses of the term include Edgar Allan Poe's "The Black Cat" and Beatrix Potter's "The Tale of Ginger and Pickles."
Etymology:
The etymology of grimalkin is somewhat unclear, but it is believed to come from two words in Middle English: "grim," meaning fierce or cruel, and "malkin," a diminutive form of the name "Mary." The latter is thought to have been a common name for female cats in the Middle Ages, possibly due to the association of cats with the Virgin Mary.
Figurative and Literal Definitions:
In addition to its literal definition as an old or ill-tempered female cat, grimalkin has taken on several figurative meanings over the years. It can be used to describe a woman who is old, ugly, or unpleasant, particularly in appearance or demeanor. For example, "Mrs. Norris was a grimalkin of a woman, with a sour expression and a sharp tongue."
Grimalkin can also be used to describe a person who is cunning, sly, or sneaky, particularly in a negative sense. This usage is often associated with the idea of a witch's familiar, a supernatural being in the form of a cat that helps a witch carry out her magic.
In conclusion, the word grimalkin is a fascinating example of how language can evolve over time. While it is not commonly used today, it has a rich history in literature and folklore, and its figurative meanings continue to resonate with modern audiences. Whether referring to a cantankerous old cat or a shrewd and crafty person, grimalkin remains a powerful and evocative term in the English language.

Just Beginning (RANPOE/NSFW)
Tumblr media
The moonlight slipped into the room in between the cracks and gaps of the curtains. Sounds of deep breaths and small moans could be heard as the two men kissed and embraced each other tightly, as if they are afraid to part. Ranpo reveled in his lover's embrace, enjoying each nuzzle and contact of their clothed skin.
As they shuffled closer to the bed, Poe unbuttoned his dress shirt, grateful for the lack of tremble in his fingers. The taller male gently pushed Ranpo onto the bed, their lips coming into contact as they inched closer to the headboard. By the time they were comfortable in the bed, Poe was shirtless and Ranpo's buttons were undone.
"You're so sweet.." Poe whispered into the younger's ears as he shifted downwards to place feather soft kisses on his stomach, then on Ranpo's nipples, slowly licking and tracing each bud with his tongue
"Ngh..Edgar..."
"So cute.." Poe moved upwards to kiss his lover's nose. The gesture made Ranpo chuckle and smile, this was his favorite part of having sex with Poe, the man is such a romantic, you can't help but smile all through the intense pleasure and pain.
"I adore you" Poe took one of Ranpo's hands and placed gentle kisses on his knuckles, making sure to look into the younger's eyes as he did so, in order to make sure his words were engraved into Ranpo's memory. He pulled them both up so they now sat across each other, with a free hand, Poe dug his hand onto the exposed chest and peeled off the white shirt.
While Poe was distracted with stripping him, Ranpo leaned in and kissed Poe on the neck.
"Edgar, I want you"
"Patience, my love" A quick peck on the lips was enough to keep the younger satiated, for now.
"The night is just beginning"
