Khr for the 20 questions meme (you can choose the numbers if that’s a lot) Thank You!
Thank you for the request, my lovely anon! I didn't really manage to do all of them, though I explained why I couldn't do particular ones while answering and I hope you'll enjoy my thoughts on the ones I did do!
which muse is the easiest to write?
Honestly, I think I've answered this a couple times on this blog. But for those who might have missed those answers, the honest truth is that there isn't a single character left in KHR that I consider 'hard' to write about anymore. I don't think I write the best Reborn, Hibari, or Mukuro, but I do try my best. I will say, I do find Gokudera always naturally flows pretty well for me but overall, KHR is the easiest fandom for me to write about and I enjoy all the characters, in their own way.
which muse is most likely to go to jail?
Well, let's see. Mukuro, Ken, Chikusa, M.M., Birds, and the Bloody Twins are all canonically either currently in jail or they have been in jail. But if that's too much of a cop-out answer, Naito would definitely spend at least a night or two in jail here and there because he's an idiot and a loud one and gets himself into silly situations or causes a public disturbance. If it wasn't for the fact that they're protected by the Mafia and have so many resources at their disposal, the Varia should also be spending time in prison for multiple murders.
which muse would be the best parent?
That's a really hard one because, honestly, this cast is so huge, and there's a lot of characters I think would make excellent parents. There's no way to settle into best either, since I think they'd all have vastly different parenting styles. I will say, out of Tsuna's family, I think neither Gokudera nor Hibari want children, nor would either of them being particularly great parents, each for their own reasons. The only person in the Varia I see wanting their own children is Levi, though I also think Squalo could be a good parent if it did become a thing for him. Out of Mukuro's gang, I don't think Mukuro nor Chrome want their own biological children. They could all potentially be good parents, but out of them all, I do think Fran would make the worst parent, though even he has moments of being a really good parent.
what would your muses be the deities of? what are your favorite icons for each muse? what song do you associate with each muse? what sort of youtube channel would your muses have?
Okay, this is just an absolutely huge cast of characters, so I hope you don't mind that I skipped these questions, my dear. The resulting post, if I was to do the entirety of the cast, would take hours upon hours to write (and like I said, these prompts are supposed to be fun and fast in between the more serious waiting requests), and would be extremely long for any of these questions, though I'd be happy to do these with a narrower group of characters in KHR.
which muse would you most like to meet irl?
Oh, there's so, so many characters from KHR I do wish were real and were in my life. Shouichi, Spanner, Byakuran after the future arc, Yamamoto, Gokudera, Haru, Kyoko, Chikusa, Shamal, YamaPapa, Squalo, Skull, Enma…the list is literally too long to count.
which muse would be the MOM friend? DAD friend?
Mom friend? Both Bianchi and Kyoko definitely show signs of being mom friends to those in their lives, though each in their unique ways. I also do think Luce, Aria, and Yuni all are or were 'mom friends' and that, even before she became a mom, Nana was a 'mom friend' to those she was friends with. Now, I'll show myself as dumb here but I didn't really know what a 'dad friend' really meant, so I had to google it. I think Yamamoto and Reborn both have some 'dad friend' energy, as does Kusakabe and Romario, right off the top of my head. Of course, YamaPapa has the most daddest of dad energies though, just saying and is a father, so maybe that helps. I also think Timoteo was always a 'dad friend' to people, from the time he was a kid all the way until he becomes an old man, when he gains 'grand-dad friend' vibes.
which muses are cat people? which are dog people?
Okay, so again, this is a question that if I listed all the characters from the wide cast of characters that fit into both categories, the post would be very long and would take a very long time to write, so I'm just going to go with the first ones that popped into my head. Hibari would definitely be a cat over dog kind of person. While animals really love Hibari in general and he tends to get along best with animals rather than people, he's not really a fan of dogs, to be honest. They're too clingy and require too much attention. Gokudera, Chikusa, Julie, and Kikyo are all very much cat people too. However, Yamamoto, Skull, and Colonello to me are all very much dog people.
which muse would you want to have a sleepover with?
Of course, a sleepover with the girls (Chrome, Kyoko, Haru, Hana, Bianchi, and I-Pin) would be so much fun. I also think sleepovers with Byakuran would be a blast and though I know he's really unpopular, sleepovers with Naito would be hilarious and full of crazy stories for the ages.
which muse would try to befriend the others? which two muses would get along the best if they met? which two muses would immediately fight each other if they met?
Now, I'm treating all of these questions in terms of how I write the various characters in my crossovers and AU's. Again, if I was to write this thinking of all the characters, I could make each question a very long, thorough, time-consuming post, so I went with just my first thoughts. I would happily answer these questions more thoroughly, if anyone would like, with a narrower group of characters. In terms of the crossovers/multiverse AU's though, Tsuna is always the most accepting and the one to make the most friends. While not as outwardly extroverted and friendly as Yamamoto, there's this charisma to Tsuna that does draw people to him. Hibari, Byakuran, Mukuro, Gokudera, Bel, and Xanxus get into the most fights in these stories though.
which muse is physically the strongest? which muse would win in a fist fight against the others?
So, keeping this strictly in universe, the Varia are all considered elite assassins and fighters and I think most of them would survive a fist fight with any of the other characters to at least a draw. It's canon that Hibari is the strongest, battle-wise, of all Tsuna's Guardians, and the Arcobaleno are the absolute best of the best, with Skull in particular actually being known for his strength, something a lot of people seem to forget because honestly, canon and fandom does him a little dirty. In just plain out hand to hand combat, I think Skull can hold his own against anyone, even Hibari, if push came to shove. I'm also adding Knuckle and Ryohei to this category, as fist-fights are their specialities and something both really excel at.
what is a plot you’ve been wanting to do for [muse name]?
I mentioned this to a friend the other day in messages, but I honestly, if I had the time and artistic ability, would love to write light novel spin-off series for KHR, something that would never happen as those have to be approved, I'm pretty sure, by the original creator. But I would love to do light novels exploring so much - the Arcobaleno's individual pasts, how they each came to chosen, their experiences with the occasion that turned them into Arcobalenos, and the immediate aftermath of being turned into infants and how they adapt to life after that. I'd love to do light novels exploring all the prior generations of the Vongola Bosses and their Guardians. I'd love to do one exploring YamaPapa's past, especially his relationship with his sibling disciple of Shigure Soen and the creation of Shinotsuku Ame.
which muse would spend a night in a haunted place for $20?
Gokudera will do it for free. No kidding, legit, he might even pay for the privilege. I honestly do think Bianchi actually does share some of her brother's passion for ghosts and she would be interested in spending the night in a haunted house as well. Byakuran and Mukuro would both do it, just because it would amuse them, and both are enough of skeptics to not even be scared.
which muse would you not let into your house, under any circumstance?
Honestly, it's Kikyo. I do see him as being really judgmental, especially with anything aesthetic, and I do think he'd read my interior decorating skills and aesthetic to filth, despite how much I love my apartment and how it looks. I also don't think I'd much like Bel in my apartment…too much chance of me being murdered for my comfort, thanks.
which muse would investigate the scary noises? which one would hide?
Again, this is one where if I really focused on the full cast, putting them into the groups, I could create a post that would be very long, thorough, and would take quite a while to write, so I just went with my first thoughts. Lambo, Tsuna, Shouichi, Enma would all hide. Basil, Gokudera, Spanner, Byakuran, Mukuro, Hibari, Adelheid, Shitt. P, and Reborn would all investigate, some with less fear than the others.

For anyone who doesn't know what Diabolik Lovers is. . . you don't want to know, and don't need to know. . .
But if you're curious, or had watched the series, keep reading
As the opening suggests, I've recently fallen down the "Diabolik Lovers" rabbit hole, very similar to "Madoka Magica" but not in a good way. . .
I'll probably be the first to say that Diabolik Lovers is the ultimate guilty pleasure anime; it's bad, but it's good at being bad, which I entirely blame on the fact that the show was made in 2013. . .
There was a lot of issues I had with the series, but the biggest caveat I had other than the thorny vampires, was the story. Cause other than the mom coming back to life and new vamps, it was ✨Boring✨
Especially the ending!
And because I disliked the story so much, I've made a whole mental reboot in my head. What do I mean by that? Basically taking the entire series in my head and giving it ✨A complete makeover✨
I'm talking redesigns of old characters, introducing new characters, worldbuilding, and an actual story! Which all of that, I could go on and on about, but given my very messy schedule and several other projects, I don't think I'll be able to
So for now, I'll talk about what I'm most proud of: The story
(Massive spoiler warning)
(Tw: Heavy topics will be discussed, stop reading if you're uncomfortable)
Alright, let's talk about. . .
✨Diabolik Lovers: The Glass Labyrinth✨
This takes place in the modern day, roughly 5 years after season 2; things still haven't changed, and Yui is still very much stuck with the vamps. Yui is, as expected, extremely depressed; not only is she trapped with bloodthirsty vampires who constantly torment and ab*se her, but she has no family nor friends to run to. All except for one little creature she acquainted with, a peculiar dove
Ever since she started reading on the balcony alone, the same dove would always fly over to where she sat and approached her, even letting her scratch its head. Yui was surprised at first, but having no one else to be around other than her ab*sers, she lets it go and the two become good friends
But it doesn't take long for simple head scratches to turn into full blown therapy sessions, as she begins lamenting all her feelings to the creature. Talking about how alone and trapped she feels, and wishing she were a dove so she can "fly away from this horrid life. . !" Of course, all the little guy could do was sit and listen, again this was a bird, not a miracle worker. . . This routine would go on for at least a few months till one day, when she's out on the balcony reading, waiting for her little bird friend, it arrives as normal, but Yui is quick to notice that something was off, it wore a strange device. Fortunately, she was able to get a better look once the creature landed, it was one of those capsules they used for messenger pigeons
Yui takes the capsule from its back and opens it, which the dove gladly allows. Revealing the letter inside, she finds out that the letter was from the dove's owner. They asked if she wanted to talk more in the letter, to which Yui, desperate for friends, immediately accepts the offer. Quickly, she flips the paper over and begins writing, asking general questions like who they were and where they'd come from; but before she could roll up the paper again something happens. The letters begin to shift into another sentence in different yet beautiful handwriting, reading:
"Who I am isn't important, but what is right now is getting you someone to talk to, you seem like you need it." Before disappearing from the page. Yui, although shocked, response back just as fast as before, asking how it knew that, it merely said it could tell from her rather shaky writing. It's quick to change the subject, asking general questions about her, to which Yui very much responds to them. Her and the talking paper begin having a conversation, still so curious about who was really behind it, but within minutes, their subject begins to change into something far more mysterious. Witches
Being the religious girl that she was, Yui knew quite a bit on witches, how the devil would leave his marks on unexpecting women, their familiars, the trials against them, a tiny bit of everything. When writing it all down, the paper disagrees with her, saying that witches are far more complex than she lets on. It goes on to compare witches to vampires, how, unlike them, a witch and her familiar are much harder to spot. They can be anywhere. . . When Yui was about to ask how it knew, she puts two and two together extremely fast. Just before she can ask any more questions, the paper burns into ashes, startling her, and the little dove? gone without a trace. She lets the realization sink in as she watches the ashes scatter in the wind. That dove, the dove that visited her constantly, the dove she's been venting to. . . was a witch's familiar
The next day, it was all she could think about. Did a witch really try to contact her? How did they know so much about her? Why her specifically? Questions that were, understandably, messing with her head for what felt like days, the only way for her to gain closure now is to do more research, a lot more research. And unfortunately, she knew exactly where to start. . . The vampire brothers
Fortunately, Yui's interaction with the dove and paper were left under their radar, but for everything else, they could tell something was up. Something was plaguing her mind, and they knew it. Despite some bewildering and bizarre guesses they were making to what it exactly was, Yui had to pick one of the brothers to ask for information; she knew that Subaru or Reiji would be too stubborn to give a full answer and god forbid if she asked someone like Laito, Kanato, or even Ayato. Making her safest option, the eldest brother, Shu. So later that night, sneaking past snoozing vampires, makes her way to Shu's room. But before she even knocked on his door, she knew that Shu wouldn't give away that information for free. . . yeah, we can all see where this is going. . .
For the sake of everyone's sanity, let's use our imaginations and picture Shu sticking a straw in Yui's shoulder or something-
Once inside Shu's room, their interaction goes to following:
Yui: Ok, kinda an off-topic question, but what do you know about witches?
*Shu stops drinking her blood*
Shu: Witches. . ? They're old hags who fly around on broomsticks and eat small children. . .
Yui: . . .That's what you think witches are. . ?
Shu: Well, aren't they? Why are you asking?
*Yui gets a little flustered but manages to keep calm*
Yui: Oh- n-no reason! I just thought that someone like you, a vampire, would believe that witches existed-
Shu: *Heh* Obviously not, witches don't exist, and if they did, they'd be a huge threat to us, us especially
Yui: Wait, why?
*Shu realizing his mistake*
Shu: uuuuhhhhhhhhhh-. . .
*Cut to Yui being kicked out of Shu's room*
Although it wasn't much, Shu had unintentionally given her just enough information to guide her on the right path of where she needed to go next. She sneaks back to her room, not before bumping into Laito. . . yeah, the guy wanted a midnight snack. . .
In the years she spent with the vampires, not only did she get a little braver, but a little smarter too. Using the vampires' dislike for loud noise to her advantage, she plants tape recorders of various loud and repeating noises and hid them in various hard-to-spot locations, that whenever they'd turn on, it causes the brothers to go mad trying to find the source of the sound, and for extra measures, she places one of Kanato's "wax figures" in her bed to give the fake illusion that she was sleeping. And with the brothers distracted and using a homemade rope, Yui is able to sneak off the balcony and leave the mansion, all the way to her local library
She estimated the time it would take for the vampires to find the device to be roughly an hour, so she makes every visit count. There, Yui was able to learn not just more on witches, but their relationship with vampires. She learns three major things:
Vampires and Witches had been coexisting alongside each other for years, but the most talked about and cataloged were the witches (The witch trials)
The relationship between the two beings is extremely shaky, one second they're completely peaceful, another they're at full on war with one and other. Through most of history, however, they had a business-relationship; a vampire could sense a witch from miles away and would often do tasks for a witch in exchange for their help and or guidance
(This is the most important one) A single witch or any magic user can take down an army's worth of vampires, within minutes. . .
A witch can fight a vampire. . . and win
Yui gets a habit of preforming this plan often, each word of the books enticing her more and more. She was thankful to have a working library card, but even if she did bring some of the books with her, it would immediately give away what she was doing to the brothers. Besides, Yui absolutely adored the new amounts of alone time she was getting. And, as a bonus, she gained more of a resistance to dirt and bugs, due to sneaking outside so much, and being completely willing to dodge the vampires by any means possible, even if it meant crawling through the mud and jumping into bushes. But of course, all good things must come to an end. . . And on one rainy night, when in her normal study nook, she gets confronted by Reiji, who had followed her all the way to the library
The interaction goes as the following:
*Reiji places a hand on Yui from behind, startling her*
Reiji: I should've known something was off. . .
Yui: Reiji-san! I-
Reiji: Now, explain to me, why exactly have you been leaving the manor?
Yui: H-how did you?!-
Reiji: Let's just say it was a hunch, and. . .
*Reiji trails off and pulls out one of the tape recorders from his jacket*
Reiji: Judging by how many of these you've been leaving around, it was likely you've been doing this often. . . Now, if you could be so kind as to give me an answer. . .
*Reiji starts to get more irritated*
*Yui, although scared, tries to stay calm and makes up an excuse*
Yui: Well Reiji-san, you see-
*Reiji cuts her off, noticing the several open books she left carelessly*
Reiji: What exactly have you been studying here anyway?
*He instead focuses on the area surrounding them, picking up one of the books*
*Yui tries to stop him, but fails*
Yui: Uh!- Reiji-san! You don't have to do that!! Please give it back!
*After reading a few sentences, he fixes his glasses and sighs, assumingly unimpressed*
Reiji: Witches. . ? Do you really believe in such fairytales. . ?
*He looks down at a now scared Yui*
Reiji: Stories of women possessing magical powers aided by the devil, and using said powers for either malicious purposes or to help others in need. . . Just more folklore and nonsense created by mortals. . .
*Reiji shuts the book with one hand*
Normally, this would be chalked up to his constant need to judge and him wanting to play the role as the "smart one," but there was something about his body language that didn't match his tone nor what he was saying. Yui managed to notice small things, like how his eyes widened before he fixed his glasses, or how he pushed the book closer to his face, as if wanting a better look, it was almost like he was surprised she was reading about this stuff. . . And when she attempted to confront him on it, he quickly got defensive, even going as far as to grab her hand, scolding her to never question his authority, but decides he wasn't going to hurt her, saying that he didn't feel like punishing her. So, with that, the two leave, Reiji pulling Yui by the hand, all the way back to the mansion, to which a bunch of "happy vampires" were waiting for her
Despite their negative and overall cruel comments, once Yui went back to her room, she couldn't fall asleep, especially with all the information she'd gathered. She formed somewhat of a theory board in her head, taking what she knew and trying to figure out what it all meant. The books, Shu's comment, Reiji's body language, everything was or could be important. Yet out of all that was being sorted in her mind, what she found most jarring was the fact a witch was the only being strong enough to take down a vampire. She laid in bed, eyes open and unmoving for hours, till finally the morning light sent her back into reality. Once she got up, she was, as expected, very tired, clearly noticeable by her dreary eyes and messy hair, and when she made her way to the dining room, Laito humorously remarked how she "looked like she just rolled out of bed"
At the dining room table, Ayato and Subaru were talking about a popular theme park that's near their area, but all eyes are shifted to Yui once she sat down. Laito's perverted comments of how he much preferred her half-asleep state as he played with her hair without consent; Kanto's attempts of gaslighting her, saying she wouldn't be so tired if she'd just stayed put like she was supposed to; even Reiji telling them to stop; it was all routine to her at that point. After he scolds two of the brothers, he's quick to scold Yui next, telling her to fix her behavior because they had a big day planned. What was their plan? Well, the Mukami brothers had gotten tickets to the theme park Ayato and Subaru were just talking about and invited them all to go with. Of course, this got the respected amounts of excited and nonchalant reactions, but not everyone was too happy. . .
Subaru, although excited for the trip, was extremely hesitant to bring Yui along with them, given her sneaking out so much, questioning the others if she really deserved to go. And taking the opportunity for more alone time and possibly the chance to go back to the library, she accepted her punishment, telling the brothers that she deserves it. To which Reiji is quick to stop her, asking what kind of fools she mistaken them for. It was obvious that if they left, Yui would just try that little stunt again. She was going, whether she wanted to or not. . .
Fast forward to when they actually got to the theme park. The gang meets up with the Mukami brothers, who were more than happy to see Yui again. . .
*Kou yells out to the group*
Kou: There you are!
*They all turn around, seeing the Mukami brothers walking towards them*
*Azusa runs ahead, like an over excited puppy*
Azusa: Eve!
*He proceeds to run up and hug Yui, making the other vamps a bit defensive, but that drops once the other three show up*
*Laito giggles a bit*
Laito: Well Little B*tch, looks like someone's happy to see you!~
Ruki: Nice seeing you all again! Glad you've made it
Subaru: *Uh* *Duh!* This is the most popular theme park in town right now! Why wouldn't we show up?!
*Reiji fixes his glasses, unfazed*
Reiji: It'd be rude to turn down an invitation. . . And if I may ask, why did you want to meet us here in the first place?
*Reiji takes the matter way more seriously than it had to be*
*Ruki laughs a bit*
Ruki: This is merely just for some rest and relaxation is all! We hardly spend any time together and we thought this would be the best way to do so. . . And besides. . .
*Ruki trails off, looking over to Azusa, still very much latched onto Yui*
Ruki: It's nice to see Azusa so happy. . .
Reiji: . . .Is that so?
*Yuma chimes in*
Yuma: Yeah, on the ride here, all he could talk about was that little piggy. I don't think I'd ever seen him run that fast. . .
*Meanwhile, Azusa was still very much hugging Yui, the triplets watching in slight amusement*
*Yui was too tired to attempt to pull him off herself*
Azusa: I missed you. . . so much Eve. . .
*He hugs her a bit tighter*
Azusa: Did you. . . miss me too. . ?
*Yui tries to choke out a response, despite having the air squeezed out of her*
Yui: I-I missed you too- Azusa-kun. . .
Kou: Alright Azusa, let her go or she'll pop!
*Kou pulls Azusa off her, Yui immediately taking a breath after*
Kou: I'm sure she's happy to see all of us! Aren't you little Maso-kitty?~
Yui: Oh! *Um-* yes, of course. . .
From early on in their interaction, it's safe to say that Reiji was still a bit iffy about the Mukami brothers, even if they formed their little alliance almost years ago; and the fact that Ruki paid for everything. Aside from that, the Mukami brothers planned the trip cause they were generally interested in the main vamps and wanted to get to know them more. It seemed like everyone was excited for this trip. . . well, "almost" everyone. . .
As part of her punishment, Yui would be paired with the triplets, as well as Kou and Azusa, entirely going on the rides and attractions that they wanted to go on; which were all, unironically, mostly horror based. And sure, there were some rides and sites she enjoyed, but that didn't distract from the fact that the whole time, the vampires were watching her like hawks, further reminding her how trapped she was. Want to know what was so interesting? This behavior doesn't go unnoticed! Whilst Azusa was holding Yui's hand, guiding the group to the ride he wanted to go on next, she thought she heard whispers. . . Whispers from girls amongst the crowd! At first, she tried to ignore them, thinking they were merely voices in her head as a result of not sleeping. But as they continued, the more apparent they got. . .
"Is that who I think it is?!-"
"No way, it's her. . !"
"Look at the guys she's with. . ."
"They look scary. . ! Like serial killers. . ."
"Could you imagine what she has to go through. . ? Poor girl. . . "
"Honestly, if I were her, I'd probably drive my car over a cliff, it'd be better than what she probably has to go through. . ."
"Don't say that! She's been with them for years, who knows how bad her situation is. . !"
Left and right, the whispers didn't seem to stop. Although it being very obvious just who they were talking about, Yui didn't seem to believe it, and heck, a part of her didn't want to. . . She'd lived with the vampires for so long, and for just as long, people just didn't seem to care. . . Not enough to get her out of that situation nor enough to help her. And by that point, she'd already seemed to accept that. . . in till she got a look at the crowd herself, finally seeing the tens of hundreds of eyes on her. These girls were talking about her and her alone! And honestly, why wouldn't they?!
Through their eyes, Yui was basically being dragged to these different locations, with her head down and a visibly sad look on her face, her dreary eyes only doubling it; she looked, acted, and was miserable. Back to Yui, to say she was surprised would've been an understatement, but not before long, Kanto gets in front of her, blocking her view of the crowd and demanding attention. This would continue throughout their visit, Yui would hear whispering and once she'd turn her head, one of the vampires would be in front of her. And as this pattern continued, it became very obvious to her of what they were doing. . . They were clearly trying to distract her, block her from the truth in some way. By all means, she could've confronted them, but by that point it was already too late. . . She was much too tired to fight back, and even if she did, she'd doubt that her attempts at rebelling wouldn't last long. . . After all, she was only human. . .
Continuing on their trip, just when the sun was starting to set, the vampires decided that it was probably time to meet back up with the others, but not before making a quick pit-stop at the nearest restrooms. As the guys took their time doing their business, Yui, waiting outside, catches something moving in the corner of her eye. . . a small, white, flying something, if you will. . .
Just flying above her, was that familiar dove. . ! She couldn't believe it. . ! Ever since her hyper fixation on witches, she'd never had time to be around the little creature, she even doubted if it would even come back anymore after she learned the truth; but there it was, flying circles above her! It whistled and cooed, as if to tell her something, before darting off in another direction, like it wanted for her to follow. Suddenly all the energy she lost a day before, came flooding back into her body, and with little time she had to think, she sprinted in that same direction, not looking back, and chasing the dove. Now, for as ridiculous as this sounds, it was actually due to a much bigger flaw in the boys' plan. Originally, they were going to work in shifts, one person was going to watch Yui whilst everyone else did their business, and the one thing they never thermally talked about was who was gonna watch her first, nor did they estimate just how long they would each take, so they were all treated to the pleasant surprise of seeing each other in the restroom, with none of them watching Yui
*Azusa and Kou leave their restroom stalls at the same time*
*Kou sighs*
Kou: *Sigh* What a great day! Think it's time we head back now, don't wanna keep our little Maso-kitty waiting!
*Azusa nods his head*
Azusa: Agreed. . .
*Just when they were about to leave, they see Kanto washing his hands at one of the sinks, shocking Kou*
Kou: What the- Kanto?!
*He doesn't notice them at first, already looking down at the sink, but once he hears his name, he peers at the restroom mirror, seeing the two there and turning around, just as surprised as they were*
*Kou gets angry at Kanto because he, to him, was supposed to be watching Yui*
Kou: What the hell man?! I thought you were watching Yui!!
*Kanto, having no idea what he was talking about, gets irritated as a response*
Kanto: What-? No! I never said that!!
Kou: Dude didn't you listen?!, we all talked and agreed you would do it first!!
Kanto: Oh please, we'd never agreed to that!! And besides. . .
*Kanto turned to, and staired death-daggers at Azusa, who was still very much confused*
Kanto: Last time I checked. . . We'd agreed to let Azusa be the first to watch her. . .
*Kou is quick to defend him, blocking the two from each other*
Kou: Hey man! leave him alone!! He has nothing to do with this!
Azusa: I. . . was supposed to be watching Eve. . ?
*He tilts his head*
Azusa: But. . . I thought. . . Ayato was doing that. . .
*Just then, Laito and Ayato walk out from the nearby urinals to meet up with the rest of the group*
Laito: Well gentlemen, shall we goin-?
*Seeing Kou there, the two are shocked, since they believed that Kou would be the first to watch Yui*
Laito: Kou? What on earth are you doing here?!
Ayato: Yeah man, what the hell?! You're supposed to be watching Yui!!
Kou: Dude no!! That's not what we talked about!!
*Azusa puts two and two together, quicker than everyone else*
Azusa: So. . . if we're all here. . . then who's watching Eve. . ?
*That realization hits the rest of the group like a truck*
Ayato: Oh sh*t! PANCAKE!!
But just when they sprinted out of those restrooms, Yui was nowhere to be seen. . . Oh crap. . .
"Well why can't they just teleport to her?!?!" Is what you're probably asking, and the simple answer is that they can't anymore. That's right, we're getting rid of their whole teleporting ability! They got away with it for too long, it's dumb, it's stupid, you're welcome-
Moving on, of course the vampires go full "manhunt mode" trying to find her, assuming that because she was so tired and the fact that she wasn't a great runner, she couldn't had gotten far, right? Well, unsurprisingly, the exact opposite happened. Yui manages to make her way to the other side of the park, somehow avoiding the other five in the process, still very much on the trail of the dove. Speaking of which, the little dove flew and flew while Yui just followed and followed, eventually leading her all the way to a run-down funhouse, far away from all the other attractions. It flies into the building through one of the only open windows, to which she's quick to follow suit, although rather scared and questioning whether or not the place would even be open, Yui is proven wrong once she placed her hands on the door, allowing it to creak open. . . no turning back now. . .
Seeing the building from the outside, it led her to question to what it was exactly it closed down for, because despite how old the building probably is, it still looked fairly decent. Entering and exploring however, she very much understood as to why, each corner and crevice of the building were covered in not just black mold but were riddled with the bite marks of rats and other creatures. As grossed out as she was, Yui kept moving, using what little sun was left peering through the windows as her source of light.
She needed to find the dove, she had to! Cause in her mind, maybe just maybe, it would help her learn the truth. . . did a witch really try to talk to her. . . and after several minutes of searching, she finally found it. Inside an open room, with its walls coated in mirrors, was the little dove, sitting right in the center of the room, waiting for her, helpfully illuminated by the last few seconds of golden hour. Yui was overjoyed, and ran toward the creature immediately, going on to tell it how happy she was to see it. After so much waiting, she'd finally would get some form of closure! But their little reunion doesn't last long. . . Just moments after Yui enters the room, the once completely open-door slams shut, startling the both of them and causing the dove to fly into Yui's arms. Both were, respectfully, confused by this, considering they were the only two who'd entered the building to begin with
Turns out, other girls weren't the only ones sneaking glances at her. . . Men stared too, but rather than viewing her as a victim, they saw her as a price tag. . . This one group in particular knew the vampires were overprotective of Yui and would go through extreme lengths to keep her in their mits, thus, the kidnapping. And given the brothers are rich, we all can probably tell what will happen. Out from the shadows, the group of men revealed themselves one by one; to make matters worse, Yui could recognize so little about their faces before she started backing away in fear. That only continued when they started talking, and by the first sentences she already knew exactly what their plan was. . .
She hoped the little creature in her arms would help her, but it was just as scared as Yui, beginning to quiver in her arms, even it knew they couldn't handle these guys alone. . .
Now with the two surrounded, this seems like the end. . .
But strap in everyone, this is where things get good!
Remember the mirror-covered walls? Well, one of the men notices and points out something disturbing about their reflections. The images presented, instead of showing the regular facial features, it showed the men with black holes for eyes, as well as large, drooling a gap smiles, it looked like a kid scribbled over the mirror with a black marker. And before anyone could know what was going on, something just as terrifying is displayed, the images begin to distort and move in ways unlike any funhouse mirror can. What were supposed to be faces began laughing, their arms increased in length, and parts of their flesh were fused together, almost like something stripped out of a horror movie. Using their elongated arms, they stretch themselves out of the mirror, each reflection grabbing their respected creator and pulling them to their fates. Yui watches in speechless awe as the men scream and struggle for freedom, but are left helpless in the hands of the mirrors. . .
Sooo. . . They're dead. . .
Pretty much every moment of that scene was jarring, but what made it even more jarring were their reactions. Yui, rather than going into instant terror or fear, is left in a state of shock, maybe she was still processing what happened, perhaps she thought the encounter wasn't as terrifying as having bloodthirsty vampires at her neck; but one thing's for sure, she'd never seen something like that before. As for the little dove, its reaction was the polar opposite, it cooed in cheer and glee as it flew from Yui's arms and onto her head, snapping her back into reality. She attempted to calm the creature down and figure out what was making it act like that, but to no avail; till, from out of the blue, a feminine voice began to speak to both of them, echoing within the room and only increasing the little creature's excitement
"Good work Apollo! You've got her!"
Somewhat startled by the sudden talking, Yui violently turns herself around to find the source, causing the bird on her head to fly off and onto her shoulder, still just as happy for some reason. When she asked who said that, the dove finally directs her to the very front of the room, there, the final unused mirror stands. But instead of showing anything that merely resembled her reflection, it showed something entirely different. Like some kind of magic, bright, colorful blobs of light began to shine from the mirror, turning her confused shock to amazed awe. Gears in her mind began winding as a curious gleam gets into Yui's eyes, she walks forward, still ever so curious
The feeling she got was almost magnetic, continuing to creep forward it were like time itself stopped just for her, and by then, she'd already long forgotten about the vampires hunting her down, truly during these moments. . . nothing mattered other than to reach the mirror. . . Only when Yui reached the middle of the room, is when she abruptly stopped. Thankfully, her sudden stop made her come back to her senses for a little bit, so although still curious, she couldn't understand why. . . she wanted to keep moving but her body kept telling her not to
Obviously, this starts a small argument between her mind and gut, both fighting for control as Yui stood there helplessly, rightfully confused the bird on her shoulder.
"Cmon, cmon!- We're so close, keep moving!"
"No, no, something is bound to happen! We should stay put just in case. . !"
But as the two sides continued to bicker back and forth, the still yet radiance mirror began to move, vibrating violently, bringing the internal argument to screeching halt; and Yui immediately understood why she stopped. Suddenly, a white aura glowed from the mirror edges, the rapid shaking causing cracks to form on its surface, and once more, that feminine voice speaks to her once more
"Awh, having trouble deciding to keep walking, are we?~"
"It's honestly understandable, I mean if I saw a glowing, shaking, mirror, I'd walk towards it too right? *Hah!*"
"Oh! Another thing, terribly sorry for what happened earlier. Me and Apollo expected you, but, weren't expecting the guests. . ."
*Even more cracks form on the mirror*
"*Sigh* supposed I kept you waiting for long enough, don't you think. . ?"
"You've worked so hard and gone through some much. . ."
*The mirror becomes almost entirely broken*
"I'd say it's time we finally met: face to face!"
And with that, the mirror finally shatters, nearly making Yui fall back in fear, covering her face and the dove with her arms as to not be injected with the shards of glass that were flying across the room, yet only exciting her bird friend. Once she thought the coast was clear, Yui hesitantly pulled down her arms to see what was in front of her, then she saw what she thought to be unexplainable. The mirror was shattered, but the colors underneath still remained, creating this luminous, unworldly, entrance. . . like a portal to another dimension
Gaining back her footing, Yui was, respectfully, tooken back by the sudden jump-scare of broken glass and surprised by the vortex in front of her, but the little creature didn't seem to mind, fluttering off her shoulder and atop the strange gateway, yet by then, she'd already put the pieces together and knew exactly who was about to walk through that door. Like clockwork, a faint silhouette formed in front of the entrance and began pulling itself out of the reflection. This was it. . . The moment she'd been waiting for. . . The witch that's been trying contact Yui, the witch that sent their familiar to her at a time of need, they were finally going to meet. . . And honestly, Yui was whole mess of emotions at that point, scared was one thing for sure, but a sudden wave of joy and determination as well. Finally, she would get the answers that she so desperately wanted, and nothing was going to stop her, not even bloodthirsty vampires. . .
Stepping out into the real world, the figure fairly resembled a human, with a short structure and a thin hourglass figure, perfectly matching their voice. They lightly dusted off their shoulders as the dove cooed in joy and fluttered onto one of them
"*Sigh* Not one of my greatest entrances, but it'll do. . ."
They turn to a, very much in awe, Yui, and begin to walk toward her, amused by her reaction and the look on her face. Slowly but surely, their figure changes, becoming more human and revealing their true form. They've shown to be someone roughly Yui's age, brunette hair with bleached tips and the richest of hazel eyes; wearing 70s attire, a red beret, red-painted lips and an amused yet sweet smile. Now in front of her, there were so many things Yui wanted to say, so many questions she wanted to ask, but due to experiencing so many emotions at once, it awkwardly came out in one sentence
"Y-you're. . . you're-"
"What? A beauty? A muse? *Gasp* Your savior?!"
"Y-You're the witch. . !"
". . ."
"*Eh* I get that a lot. . ."
"Niji Shikisou, The Painter Witch, at your service~"
"Nice to finally meet you, Ms. Eve. . ."
As they did a little curtsy to introduce themself, new questions as well as old remaining ones were swarming Yui's head, and they were very aware of this, and although they wanted to clear things up to make things easier, what Yui didn't know was that time was running thin. Just before Yui could say anything else, they quickly cut her off, telling her they understand how confused she must be, reinsuring her that she will get the answers soon as long as she was patient and if she trusted them, offering their hand. And like the Painter Witch said, she'd come so far. . ! After outwitting the vampires and commending to their torment for years, she deserved to know the truth. . ! So, Yui, wanting the truth more than anything, takes Niji's hand, accepting their offer, which pleased them that she was so willing to cooperate
But everything can't be too easy, they're quick to direct the group's attention to the ground, where most of the largest shattered glass shards laid. Forcing herself and Yui to crouch down and look at the shards, Niji uses that same spell to alter the current reflections, to show what exactly was happening concurrently. Just like before, it instead revealed the actions and faces of all ten vampires. . . and they looked angry! Turns out while searching for Yui, the triplets, Kou and Azusa rejoined with the rest of the group, and were getting close to their half of the theme park. Of course, Yui was absolutely terrified by this; now if this were one-off thing, the brothers would probably find a "creative" way to punish her, likely a whipping or taking turns drawing her blood, but remember, she'd done this multiple times to this point forward. . .
So, case in point, if they find her now, they'd rip her to shreds, or worse! But before Yui could properly panic, Niji calms her down, reinsuring her that she has nothing to worry about with them around. Very much unintentionally reminding her of a very important fact, witches are stronger than vampires. They go on to say that they've already had a plan to deal with the vamps, and they were gonna need mirrors, a lot more mirrors! Despite having even more questions, from that point forward, Yui had never trusted another person more in entire life, there was no time to chat. Grabbing onto her, Niji forced the two of them back up again, saying they had no more time to waste. With that, pulling Yui by the hand, they sprint toward the shatter doorway, forcing the whole group inside! All the while, Yui fully trusted her, despite having no idea what her plan was. . .
~Meanwhile~
Both Sakamaki and Mukami brothers were still searching for Yui, the sun was now completely out of the sky and all the lights in the park were coming on. Once the group rejoined, the rest of the main vamps, Yuma and Ruki were all rightfully angered by them losing Yui, causing the group to argue a bit, only stopping once Reiji breaks them up and reminds them of the task at hand, putting an end to their fight for the time being. Like a pack of hungry wolves, they scout a majority of the theme park for their prey, and looking at their plan on paper, it was pretty uncoordinated, cause despite working together for half the search, they could only cover so much ground at a time, making their attempts to find Yui even more difficult than if they just split up into groups of two. Making matters worse, they weren't the quietest nor the sneakiest either. . . Yuma and Subaru, so angry about her sudden disappearance, caused massive amounts of damage to the park itself, to which they were narrowly caught by park staff
This was entirely Reiji's idea, due to still not trusting the Mukami brothers, and finding the plan as a way to not only find Yui, but also to keep a close eye on them in case they tried running off with her again, despite how time consuming it would be. At that rate, the vampires kept searching and searching as it got later and later into the night, eventually making their way to the other side of the park, where all the old and unpopular attractions were. Irritated, Kou climbs up an old signal tower to get a better look at their surrounding area, the view he got wasn't the best, the tower he climbed was a bit smaller than what he expected and the night sky away from any source of light wasn't helping either, but he made do with what he had. When yelled at from the ground, asking for what he saw, he did a slow 360° with his body, scoping out the land. He yelled out the repeated phrase "nothing" as he went full circle, at first he didn't see much, just rundown buildings, the night sky, nothing too special. It's only when he got about halfway around, he saw something truly unexpected. . .
"W-W-Wait. . ? What are those sparkly star things. . ?"
"A-Are those particles?!"
From out in the distance, Kou saw bright yellow, glowing particles, radiating from one specific area. Bewildering him, cause aren't all the attractions were supposed to be closed? And what made more suspicious, were that the particles were coming from one specific area and nowhere else. . . Once Kou came down and reported what he saw, they were just as confused as he was, and despite how big of a red flag that is, the guys were running thin on options on actually finding Yui, so they headed there without another thought, desperate to reach her again, and once they did, it was nothing like they've ever seen before. In front of them was the most saturated building the group had ever come across, covered in every hue of the rainbow, the building itself looked like something straight from Las Vegas, like one of those fancy and over-the-top casinos, and at its entrance were flickering, neon-glowing signs reading things like:
"Alastor's Wine: Best Served Cold Finale!!"
"One Night Only!!"
"Don't Miss It!!!"
Alongside a sign of an amorphized dove. All radiating, you guessed it, the glowing particles Kou saw earlier. Internal alarms were blaring in their heads as everything about that place practically screamed "trap!" But at that point, they were already getting desperate, a majority of them were tired from the searching and wanted to get things over with. So slowly, they crept up to the building's entrance, watching each other's backs in case something happened. Pulling Ayato in front, the rest of the group decided to send him inside first, and annoyed but still wanting to keep his pride, he grudgingly agreed. Right away, and like Kou, he notices the unexplainable, how despite the building being so unyieldingly bright, there were no signs of any lights, no stage lights, no electrical cords, nothing; so either they used really powerful technology, or this was the building's natural colors. . !
The groups kept moving despite, and luckily for Ayato, the building had no doors, which made taking a look inside a tinier, all be it being ten times saturated on the inside than on the outside. With everyone in front of the door, they all got a look inside, it seemed safe enough, neither of them still weren't too sure. . . what if the gateway is rigged with traps? Sheepishly, Laito suggests that Ayato should go first, since he made this far taking the lead, to which he immediately regrets, because he knew a rattrap when he saw one. . . It went on back and forth between the guys, everyone pointing fingers of who'd be willing to sacrifice themselves of entering the strange building, eventually sparking yet another argument between the vampire, but this time, Reiji is even quicker to end it. . ! He breaks up the fight in half, loudly scolding them that their bickering wouldn't get them anywhere closer in retrieving Yui, and how he was gonna get everyone inside? He thought of that too. . .
Turning to Ayato, he asked for one of his shoes, and although confused, he reluctantly does give him one. Reiji goes on to explain that he's going to throw it into the building, and if nothing happened to it, that meant that the room was trap-free and it was safe to enter, earning a collective "ooohhh!-" from the rest of the group; there were many times where Reiji truly felt like the "smart one," this was one of those times. . . Anyways, with the object in hand, he throws it into the building, already thinking that this plan is was just a waste of time as is. Yet, instead of the shoe just getting a long distance in the air before hitting the floor, because, well, gravity. . . The object, immediately upon entering the building, completely changes. Its appearance alters, lightening in color and matching the building's insides, which takes the entire group by surprise. That's when Reiji finally notices just how different the insides of the building were from the outside
Cause while everything outside looks sturdy, simple and well, normal, the inside of that building looked almost "hand-drawn", it looked more smoother, rounded, like something straight from a classic Disney film. But just before Reiji or Ayato could question anything further, Laito, obviously thinking that it dragged on for quite long enough, just pushes them in without warning. Uncalled for sure, but exactly what the group needed. . .
"Laito, what the hell?! What was that fo-?! Wah-wait a sec. . ."
Similarly to the shoe, both Reiji and Ayato's appearances change just like that. Becoming more detailed in their physicals, again, like it was straight from a classic Disney film. Of course, everyone had their questions, Ayato even asks if they'd all took something earlier. But no time to think about that! They have a Yui to catch! They had to keep going, so with the unintentional greenlight, everyone else entered the building, a few of them marveling in their new looks, and quickly began their search. . . They fell for it
With that, we finally learn about Niji's plan, and unsurprisingly, it involves using Yui as bait, but not in the way some think. Niji, as holder of the Painter Witch title, was no stranger to creating vivid illusions that mess all sorts of minds, so they knew immediately what they wanted to do. Using their magic, they transform the building, turning it from a crusty run-down attraction to a marveling casino within seconds. But, as fate would have it, they knew the vampires weren't going to fall for such a trick, so that's where Yui comes in! Niji could change the casino all she wanted, yet there were still some things she couldn't, more importantly being, Yui's scent, which was behind by her earlier. . .
Exploring inside, every room had the typical over-exaggerated casino vibe, blinky lights, colorful machines, any bell and whistle you could think of was there, but of course, that's not what the vampires are here for. They immediately recognized Yui's scent from the hallways she'd traveled in before, and reverted back to their instincts, scouting each and every room in search of their prey, all now irritated and dead set on finding Yui. Till finally, all 10 of them, after tracking down her smell at its strongest, led them to grand and alluring doors, jackpot. . !
Yui's scent was now stronger than ever, and they were ravenous, like they've haven't eaten in years. Both Yuma and Subaru swing the doors open with full force, allowing everyone to run inside without a second thought. The room inside completely matched the door that guarded it, the place was almost entirely covered in large round tables, all draped in simple white cloths, looking to be a sort of preforming area, at half of the room was a massive stage, weirdly shaped and leveled by stairs going up, covered in even more bright colors and blinky lights, but the strangest thing about it were the mirrors littered all across its walls, including one giant mirror in the center, only lit with dim lighting. Yes, something was especially off here, red flags were all over the place. The group didn't let their guards down for a second, checking their surroundings and watching each other's backs. Their eyes were glued to the stage, waiting for something to just pop out, and eventually something did. . .
"Finally, you all showed up! I was starting to get bored!~"
*Niji's voice echoed within the room, practically jump-scaring the vampires and throwing them into defense. Looking all around to find the source of her voice*
"Do you know how easy you're making this for me? I could've made my get away at any moment, but *sigh* I knew. . ." "I knew that little pests like you were much too persistent. . ."
*The group gets slightly irritated, noticing that the voice was feminine*
Yuma: Who the hell are you?!
"Who I am is none of your business nor of your concern thank you. . ." "Not like it'd be much use to you anyway. . ."
*She only fuels the flame as most of the group got angrier, how dare this woman talk so condescendingly to them. . !* *Quickly realizing she was the one responsible for Yui's disappearance*
Ayato: Alright, quit the horsesh*t, where's Yui?! We know you have her!!
"*Hmm?* I have not the slightest idea what you're talking about"
*Before Ayato could bark back, Kou places a hand on his shoulder, giving a nod while smiling as he stepped in front of him*
Kou: Look lady, there must be some misunderstanding here. Our little Maso-kitty happens to be our property, so if you could just hand her over-
"Oh! You're talking about Ms. Eve! *Haha!*" "Yes, she's safe and sound with me and I plan to keep it that way. . !"
*At that point, their patience was already growing thin, like ravenous dogs ready to snap. Subaru shoves his way to the front*
Subaru: *Ugh* You piece of sh*t!! GIVE US THE MORTAL OR ELSE!!
*Suddenly, the giant mirror at the center of the stage begins to glow, the same as before but brighter than ever* *The group shields their eyes*
"Oh temper, temper!~ What got you so worked up?" "Are you upset I have your little toy?~" "Well too bad! You weren't putting her to good use anyway. . !"
*Cracks begin forming on the mirror* *Most of the group peak to see what was happening*
"Yet to come this far. . ! It gets harder and harder to tell whether or not you actually care about her. . !" "*Sigh* suppose there's one way to find out. . ."
*Finally, the mirror shatters, sending glass all over the place and causing the group to fully cover their faces* *Once it sounded like the coast was clear, they all slowly put down their arms*
*All eyes towards the now broken mirror, Niji steps out of the carnage as once unnoticed spotlights shine onto her, revealing her form and sickly-sweet grin* *Revealing her true form, the vampires were a mix of shocked, confused, and angry. Subaru, so angered, immediately began running up to the stage, all the while Reiji immediately realized something sinister about her*
Subaru: Why you!!-
Reiji: Subaru, wait!!
Just before he could even land a finger on her, she swiftly dodges the attack, shocking him, and delivers a colorful blow, causing him to go flying into one of the mirrors on the side. She then proceeds to turn to the, now horrified, vampires, shocked that she managed to take down Subaru so easily, and finally realizing who exactly they were up against. From her back, Niji proceeds to pull out a paintbrush, holding it in both hands before it magically increased in size, letting it go and allowing it to levitate in the air like it was nothing. It floated above her as it began to spin violently, the bristles extracting a colorful paint-like substance as the wind around them became sudden and almost violent. Niji begins cracking her knuckles
"You all do love Ms. Eve, don't you?~" "So, why don't you all stand up and fight me for her?!"
And it was at this moment, they knew. . . they f*cked up. . .
With a blur, Niji gave all ten vampires the most colorful beat-down ever. . ! Seriously, paint was everywhere! And unlike Niji who has magical powers, the vampires didn't have weapons, only having the cloth-drawn tables as ways to block their attacks and as projectiles, which she'd merely blast. But regardless, it didn't matter what they did or what they threw at her, cause Niji would just hit them even harder, it was hopeless. . ! All the while, she would continuously tease them, asking why aren't they using "their powers?" And in all the commotion, you had to wonder, where was Yui in this? Keeping this part brief because of time
Well, Yui alongside Apollo, was climbing up to the roof of the building. As a part of Niji's plan, once the vampires were defeated, Niji would fly the two away, allowing Yui to leave the vampires' grasp entirely. Obviously, Yui was hesitant but wasn't going to pass up an opportunity like that, so she ran to the rooftop as fast as she could. But before Yui could make it, she gets confronted by a paint-covered Azusa, who saw her heading upstairs and tried to beat her to it, He made one final attempt to convince her to stay with them, saying how things wouldn't the same without her, only to be cut off by Niji, pressing the back of enlarged against his own, threating him not to say another word, forcing him to back off. They proceed sprinted pass him and toward Yui, grabbing her hand once more and guiding her directly to the rooftop
Every moment, Niji just seemed to surprise her more and more, whilst also confusing her at the same time. Why did she do so much for her? For what reason was she being picked out? What did it have to do with being "Eve?" How did they even know she was "Eve?" Yet despite all the questions, a part of her felt. . . relieved, like years-worth of chains were magically being lifted from her body, this was her chance of escape, and she took it without another thought. Arriving on the rooftop, as Niji prepares their paint brush for their escape, Yui grabs ahold of their wrist with both hands, and just thanks them. For, well, everything, for giving her a friend, for saving her from those creepy men, everything, small tears welled up in her eyes as Niji turns and smiles at her, saying it wasn't a problem, before instantly scooping her up, and onto the magical brush
Both of them on basically a broomstick and with Apollo on Niji's shoulder, the two take to the skies, Yui held on for dear life while Niji was as calm as ever. Just before they'd could fully leave, the vampires showed up just at the nick of time, all injured and covered in paint and bruises, already angered but unable to reach them due to them being very much flightless, they were unsurprising powerless, and Niji takes the chance to gloat a bit while they were still in the air
*They giggle*
"Awh~, what's wrong? can't make it up here?~" "You know, if you want her so bad, why don't you just fly up and get her?~" "I've always wanted to see a vampire turn into a bat. . ."
*The bloodthirsty vampires were beyond angry and ready to snap, but from below, they looked like angered little dogs*
Ayato: DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO YOU'RE MESSING WITH?! WE'LL RIP YOU APART LIMB FROM LIMB!!!
*Reiji started to bark back as well, his now extremely cracked glasses almost completely fell off his face*
Reiji: IF SOMEONE LIKE YOU HAD ANY BRAIN, YOU'D STOP TREATING THIS AS SOME GAME!! HAND OVER THE MORTAL!!
*Despite the tears rolling down his face and the obvious redness, Azusa tried to stand his ground and act tough*
Azusa: You. . . you big bully. . ! L-let go of Eve, LET GO OF OUR EVE RIGHT NOW!
*Yui's eyes were closed out of fear during the yelling, she wasn't used to being so high up. But just by their voices, she was surprised, she'd never heard them this angry before. . .* *Niji just looks down at them, unimpressed but amused, before laughing*
"Oh no~ I'm so scared!-*hahahah!*" "I knew you would all get mad, but I didn't expect you to be this hotheaded- Oh!- That reminds me!"
*They snap their fingers as warm-colored particles release from their fingertips*
"I left a little surprise for you, think of it as a parting gift!" "Just be careful going downstairs, ok?"
*Within seconds, the brush began to lift higher into the air, Yui holding on all the tighter as she felt it shift*
"Well gentlemen, I think it's time we'd depart. . ." "Terribly sorry it has to end like this, but don't worry. . . We'll take good care of her. . ." "Bhyeeee~!"
And just like that, they were gone. . . The vampires watching speechless, in horror, as the witch shot up into the sky and disappeared, Yui only catches glances of their faces as she, Niji and Apollo flew off. . .
. . .
You still here? Good. . .
As you can probably tell, this's one of my longer posts, and I'm not too confident not many people let alone anyone will read it, but I had a lot of fun writing it so, screw it I guess
Big apology for taking so long, I thought it was going to be easy but man, did it take me longer than I expected, to a point I had to write some parts in school TwT Overall, I did this project for fun, as well as trying to bring in more darker and mature elements to my writing. Despite how time-consuming it was and how trashy the actual anime was, I genuinely enjoyed putting my personal spin on this show and giving it the rewrite it deserves. I'm not entirely sure if or when I'll bring this back, maybe if it gets popular enough-
How I actually found this series is still beyond me though. It really felt like I just looked at the show and went, "yeah, I can fix him. . ."
Anyway, be on the lookout for my other projects And as always, stay tuned^^

How would yandere Deku react to reader being thrown into an arranged marriage with someone else?
Tumblr media
Well. He doesn't expect it for sure.
I mean, you really attract trouble, don't you? It almost pisses him off how much trouble you seem to throw yourself into. Arranged marriage, huh? Well, that... Is not a problem.
He is still anxious. He is an anxious person in general, but his anxieties weren't all for the fact you were going to be married, it was more for the fact that he didn't know how you felt for that person. He wished that he didn't care, but he did. He wanted you, all of you, and even if it meant that you will be upset, he understands you, you're his other half, so he doesn't want you to waste time mourning your 'feelings' for that person when you could begin to fall for him just as he did you.
He wanted to worm hate into this 'marriage' of yours. He wanted you to believe, to truly think that it was your decision to break it off, to be forced to break it off.
So he hopes you understand, he really, really hopes you understand what he did, and why he did it for you.
Still, he watched you, and he didn't see tears. He just saw you standing there. Blinking in speechless silence, beautiful features illuminated by red and blue, while your marital partner was getting dragged away in front of your eyes, you didn't cry, you didn't scream or hit or beg for them to let him go. The only thing he saw was your confused, concerned eyes, and the shiver that ran through your body.
Which is why he approached you, why he apologized, and why he smiled when you looked at him questioningly, and so bitterly asked, "Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault. It's theirs."
It almost made him go blind with ecstatic butterflies watching the way you chuckled as if hiding your feelings. Your anger. But he could read you like a book. Mostly because he was aware of everything you are, he might as well have written it himself. So without a second thought, he took off his cape and draped it around your shoulders
"I'm sorry for your loss," He whispered, watching you shrink underneath his cape, warming yourself. He could have taken you home right away, seeing your eyes flutter closed and the scent of him wash over you. The shy look you gave him right afterwards. Though your eyes shifted to a colder gaze when his words registered.
"Excuse me?"
"O-oh? I-I thought you were going to divorce them after this--?"
"What?" Your eyes glanced up and met his in a hardened glare. "I haven't decided that..." You almost snapped at him for assuming anything about you or how you'd act. Though you weren't thinking about continuing this arrangement you'd been pushed into after this, you didn't like thinking another person could read you. You were making this decision now. All of those others who'd been controlling you were about to face the shit they'd pushed you through.
You'd been deciding your vengence for a minute now. "I know the best choice. I know what's best."
Izuku bit his tongue and smiled at you. Surprising you when he ruffled your hair. "Of course. I am here if you wanna talk,"
You gave him an odd look. "You?" You were more surprised by him than anything. "You're a hero, I am sure you're busy."
He gripped your shoulder. "Not for you."
The memory would have been seared into his mind forever, had you not been so insistent on keeping that little spouse of yours. Honestly, what were you thinking? He'd made sure that person would never get out of prison. Yer you were pushing to stay by his side?
He didn't know what to say. Was he pissed that you were staying by that person? Or was he absolutely in-fucking love with you for being so loyal when he knew you didn't want to be. God fuck it made it so hard not to rip you from your fame filled life and well--
well... Fantasies wouldn't stay fantasies forever. He needed to make it happen. He'd always been a person to make his dreams come true. This was no different. His dreams come with hard work.
You were his dream. And he was going to work hard to get you in his arms, willingly or not.
So while he smiled for the cameras and explained how he'd known how your spouse was a high ticket drug lord, his mind wandered to your disappearing silhouette. It was okay.
It will all be okay.
Because he simply needed to make sure your spouse would never exit his cell in one piece. He knew that you wouldn't forget him anytime soon.
No, the cape around you kept you warm as you walked yourself home, with a mind falling apart at the seams. Blame circling your family, who'd pushed you into this in the first place, or anything you should have noticed before they were caught. But somehow, even in the middle of the night, you could feel the soft beautiful scent of the hero who'd sworn to you he'd protect you all the time. It comforted you, almost made you laugh while you wrapped yourself like a burrito with his cape.
Maybe Izuku was right...You should get a divorce. Who knows what you're soon to be ex is capable of? Maybe you should call the pro hero. You have his cape after all. And... you couldn't trust that your ex hadn't put a trail on you. Because you could feel the eyes burning into you in the middle of the night. Who knows who could be after you?!
Yes... That's what you should do. It's logical... right? You can finally feel safe. Izuku Midoriya, the Number One Pro-hero, the only person you could trust with your life, with your overwhelmed mind.
... Right?

Finished the One Piece Live Action and overall I'd give it an 8/10. Most of the actors are great at portraying their roles, and despite a few small (and two not so small) criticisms I had with the show, overall it still felt like One Piece, albeit a different version of it.
I sincerely hope they do a season two, despite my criticisms. I think they could easily do the Alabasta arc, even in just eight episodes, though I'd hope for more.
Logue Town
Reverse Mountain / Crocus / Laboon
Whiskey Peak
& 5. Skip Little Garden and go straight to Drum Island
6. , 7., & 8. Alabasta
Would be so awesome if they did that.
Spoilers below where I go in-depth about my criticisms, mainly for my own benefit.
Starting with the biggest criticism I had, I think it was genuinely a mistake for them to cut the Don Krieg fight because of how it really makes both Sanji deciding to join the crew, and Nami's iconic "Luffy, help me" scene kind of fall flat.
It messes up Sanji joining the crew because, without it there's really no reason for Sanji to even consider joining his crew. At that point, Luffy was just this random wannabe pirate captain who had been forced into becoming a dishwasher for the Baratie, and whose crew consisted of a half-dead swordsman, a liar, and a thief who betrayed them. Not to mention, said-wannabe pirate captain just had his ass handed to him and was looking to presumably get his ass handed to him again by the same guy while presumably going after a woman who stated clearly that she wanted nothing to do with them anymore. What about that screams: "Ah yes, I should quit my sure thing of a life and job to go hangout with these all-powerful, super intelligent, upstanding people!"
It also just sort of lessens the Nami moment later on because at that point she has no reason to even hope Luffy can beat Arlong, and literally every reason to believe he can't given that she'd literally just seen him lose to Arlong at the Baratie. Instead of it being an inspiration of hope at her lowest point, it became this pathetic last-ditch effort to beg for help from someone who she has every reason to believe can't help her.
This isn't to say that scene wasn't done well, for what it's worth. I thought Nami did a good job of recreating the scene pretty well honestly. It was just the setup to that moment that I had an issue with.
Beyond that, I had an issue with Sanji overall, but this is again connected to the fact that they cut the Don Krieg fight. Honestly, while I thought the Syrup Village was easily more enjoyable in live action than it was in the anime, I really wish they'd cut that arc down to just one episode and given Baratie the time it deserved to be what it needed to be. I know they had a lot to cram into just 8 episodes, but I really don't think they did the best of jobs deciding what was worth keeping and what was worth tossing.
Of course, I have to assume this was mainly due to budget and effects, hence why they also decided to cut out easily the best character in Arlong Park (probably hard to depict an 6-armed octopusman), Hatchan, who I would argue is far more important as a comedic relief character than one might expect, but I digress. His role in Arlong Park really helps relieve some of the tension, reminding everyone that this is supposed to be a goofy pirate show and not always some ultra serious, depressing drama series.
Other than all that, the show was great I thought. You really have to open your mind a bit and not be such a stickler to the source material, as I often find myself being. I really hope they do a season two though. I can see it being somewhat feasible for them to do an Alabasta Saga next. 1 ep for Logue Town, 1 for Reverse Mountain/Crocus, 1 for Whiskey Peak, skip Little Garden since ultimately it's not super important and just have Nami get sick some other way, 2 eps for Drum Island, and then I think Alabasta itself probably deserves 3 episodes so we can maybe see at least a couple of the fights.
I'd love to see Zoro solo the Millions, and especially his fight against Mr. 1 since I think that's a pivotal power-scaling moment for him when he cuts steel for the first time. Of course, you can't have Alabasta without Bon Clay, so seeing him and Sanji fight would be good. And then obviously, Luffy vs. Crocodile. I'm not sure where Nami, Usopp and Chopper would fit in, since I'm trying to think of how you'd keep this budget-friendly, and having them all fight their actual opponents I think would just be too much (especially Usopp & Chopper vs. Ms. Merry Christmas & Mr. 4).

Yeah, there's also things floating around about how the rigging team in RT was crunched specifically, and how mishandled they were by management. But I keep thinking that if vol. 9 doesn't come out, then RWBY ended literally with the four protagonists falling to their deaths, after being the people who decided to destroy two cities. Like, Salem didn't crash Atlas into Mantle, Ruby did. If vol. 8 is the end then this story led up to Ruby committing genocide and then dying.
You know, as messed up as it would be, I kinda wish we could have that ending. In reality though, if we consider all official promo material part of the story (which I personally do), then our ending is more that they "died," ended up in some strange world with a talking mouse, and... that's it. That's all we get. Like don't get me wrong, ending the story on the heroes' failure of Volume 8 is #NotGreat when your story isn't supposed to be tragic (totally different case if RWBY had always been aiming for an unhappy and/or ambiguous ending), but at least it's about as wrapped up as a story can be when it unexpectedly gets cancelled. Team RWBY went to Beacon to become huntresses, got caught up in a war, tried to fix things by taking a classically heroic route that prioritized ethical perfection over morally gray practicality, utterly failed, died, doomed a kingdom to drowning/death by grimm, and the villain is poised to end the rest of the world on the heels of that failure. The End. As someone who has been reading RWBY through the lens of what the story is actually saying as opposed to the thematic intention of the writers, there's something compelling in that. Whether RT realizes it or not, they'd have written a cautionary tale about "simple souls" leading the charge in a world that is not, in fact, a fairy tale.
Instead though, we'd end up with a muddled, "They totally survived and there's still hope because it's heavily implied through storytelling expectations that they'll escape this world and go fight Salem again! ... You just don't get to see that lol." RWBY Volume 8 is arguably a complete story, regardless of how awful we might think that story is. RWBY Volume 8 + promo material for a presumed Volume 9 is a mess of implied information with no actual resolution attached and I personally find that to be the more frustrating option of the two. Especially when said promo material is currently defined by problems that hypothetically might never get resolved: Why does Ruby only get two seconds of tears after she's lost everything? Why is our only nonbinary rep a mouse? Why did we heel-turn back to Jaune as the emotional cornerstone of the story? Everything that currently makes us go, "Yeah, it looks like a potential problem, but I'm sure the Volume itself will fix things!" would never get that chance to improve. This is all we've got and what we've got from Volume 9 so far doesn't stand well on its own imo.
To be clear, I don't actually think we're losing RWBY. At least, I won't think that until I've seen concrete evidence that these revelations (unlike many previous revelations) are actually threatening RT's position. Until then, this is just another round of, "RWBY is dying!!" a claim that crops up during every hiatus and, of course, amounts to nothing. But yeah, if we did end the story there with no possibility for even a quick conclusion through a movie, special, etc. it'll be severely disappointing. For those who still love RWBY and for those who have been critical of it.

-> Chapter I "Family"
Chapter II "War in the south"
She might not have been to Castle Black much, but she knew it as much as she needed to. Her uncle Aemon had told her all she needed to know some time ago.
Amalthea had no right to remember this (since she wasn't even born), but once upon a time the Night's Watch had constant contact with the kingdom of Acalida. Even more so, if they were going on a trip beyond the wall, then they almost always stayed with them for a few days to rest before returning to Castle Black.
But this wasn’t the only way to help, in the event of any attack, the guards could always count on the help of the kingdom and each other. Over time, however, this relationship faded, mainly because the guards stopped visiting the kingdom at all. The inhabitants themselves wondered why, but the rulers thought about it the most - did they offend them with something? What changed?
They sent lots of ravens, but got no response. So they didn't intend to help the Night's Watch any more, and that's how it stayed until then... Only the Watchers didn't even know about the existence of a realm they'd never approached, mainly because even wildlings didn't venture there, for fear of being burned. However, no one wanted to convince themselves of the truthfulness of these words, so it was decided to give up such distant escapades.
“Hello, Uncle Aemon.” The princess greeted softly, pushing her hood off her face. They met in the basement of the castle, where they used to be in the habit.
On the one hand, the girl could have gone out and said who she was a long time ago, but on the other hand, it is not known how they would react to this - which is why she preferred to remain unnoticed.
“Dear Amy... I wish I could see how you've grown up.” Maester Aemon spoke up, clumsily grabbing the blonde's hand. “Tell me, how are your parents...? And siblings, of course.”
“We're fine, and Slythia and Zorienn are growing very fast.” She smiled gently. “Better tell me, how are you?”
“It's a pity to say... I live somehow until the gods decide that the end has come for me. Ah... Targaryen alone in the world, a terrible thing…”
“Uncle…” She cut, seeing that Aemon was about to start his monologue.
“Oh yes, your father wrote to me.” He showed her with his hand to follow him, which she did. “I prepared a horse for you and some supplies…”
“I have money, it wasn't necessary.” She smiled slightly at the older man, walking in the direction he indicated.
“A little thing, it’s just a little thing... Just take care of yourself.” She nodded, throwing the hood over her head.
“I will. Thank you again, uncle.” She said before looking around and walking away with Aemon in different directions.
She approached the horse, on which she got on after a while, watching how nearby, standing on the ground, Istra is staring at her incomprehensibly.
“I can't ride you, everyone here thinks dragons are extinct, and I don't want to make a sensation around me.” She explained to her, urging her horse. “At least try to keep as few people as possible noticing you.” She asked, and immediately after that the dragon bounced off the ground and after a few flaps of its wings was already high above the ground.
Still, it kept its eyes on the silver-haired girl, after all, it was supposed to be watching over her here, so it couldn't fly too far away from her.
* * *
After years of growing up in her kingdom and riding a dragon, she didn't think how long horse journeys could be. On a dragon, flying to the wall and back, you could easily do this course several times in one day, while on horseback...? It took several days.
And now, heading south, she wished she could fly freely there, which would have been much faster. But the fact people might get scared of a dragon flying freely above their heads...
Anyway, she ended up wandering into that war her father had mentioned. Specifically, on the battlefield. The ground was full of the dead, but also as many wounded, who were tended to by several people, while the victorious side of this battle was walking around. Maybe Amy didn't want to get too involved in all this, but she saw a dark-haired girl nearby, struggling with some boy at his leg, who - it must be admitted - was in terrible condition.
“May I help?” Princess asked, walking over to her and taking a better look at the whole situation.
“If you can hold him…” She replied to what the boy was chasing all the time, struggling immensely despite her calming him down.
Amalthea knelt a little behind him and to the side, pulling him a bit on his back, and the woman who had been helping the dark-haired woman grabbed the boy from the other side and his tugging was more and more for nothing.
“No, I don't want to be a cripple, please! It'll get better, it doesn't hurt at all!” He shouted when the dark-haired girl was tying his leg with some string, explaining to him why she had to do it, but it didn't help much. Even the argument that he will die if the girl didn't get rid of that leg. “My Lord, tell them something! I can't be a cripple!” He turned to some other man who happened to be passing by, surrounded by several other men.
“Better bite this than the tongue.” He handed Amy his glove, which immediately landed in the mouth of the struggling boy, interrupting him in mid-sentence just before the dark-haired girl began to cut off his leg.
Amalthea, not taking her eyes off the scene, was still looking at how the dark-haired girl was doing it, who had only spoken to her one sentence so far. Once, if she were younger, she would probably look away when such a scene played out in front of her eyes, but now she was more interested in such a view than disgusted and scared. Besides, let's face it, the blood no longer impressed the woman who regularly saw it every month.
When the woman got rid of the - in fact, unnecessary - leg and secured the wound, she began to collect her belongings. Only then she was going to speak to the silver-haired, but she was overtaken by the man who was watching everything all the time from behind, even though he was already alone.
“What's your name?” He asked.
“Talisa.” The dark-haired girl answered immediately, collecting the last things, but not even looking up at him. Then he moved his gaze to the silver-haired, clearly expecting an answer from her too.
“Amalthea.” She smiled briefly and gently, seeing that Talisa was also listening well to what she was saying.
“Sisters?”
“Do we look like sisters?” Talisa muttered, rising, holding her wooden trunk with all its utensils in her hand. “That boy lost his leg because of you, and you have women in your head?”
“I just wanted to ask what houses you're from. I can't take back that you cut his leg off.” He replied to her. “And siblings can look different.”
Maybe so, but Talisa and Amalthea definitely didn't look like sisters even at first glance. The first thing that caught the eye was the completely different hair color - Talisa's dark hair and Amy's very light blonde, silver in some light. The eyes were also different, Amy had light brown, amber in fact, while Talisa had dark irises.
The easiest way to describe them is that everything Talisa had, Amalthea had definitely brighter, even her skin was a few tones lighter. But well, the slight exception to this rule were eyelashes, both of which were black.
“Can I go with you?” Amy asked Talisa softly, to which Talisa replied with a gentle nod, after which they both began to walk away towards her carriage. At the same time, Amy whistled for the horse, which after a while ran up to her so that she could freely mount it.
She was interested in this woman and would very much like to spend more time with her, getting to know her better before deciding to continue her journey.
“You didn't say where you are from!” The curly-haired man shouted after them, walking a bit, until the cart on which Talisa gracefully jumped moved.
“Volantis!” She shouted, slapping her tackle box to make the horse speed up.
“And you?!” Amy thought for a moment what exactly she should answer to that before she shouted back the answer, turning only slightly over her shoulder and answering truthfully.
“From the North!”
From the north? And her hair is so bright? He'd never met a woman with such blonde hair who was from there...

❝ fix you ❞
genre: horror, gore, psychological thriller, chanlix-centric, au, non-idol synopsis: chan likes to fix things. tw/cw: major character death, disturbing content, mental illness, implied murder, profanity, implied and semi-explicit gory themes word count: 1.16k
author's note/s: requested by a dear friend of mine (to keep my writing streak up). completely off the top of my head, haven't had the chance to edit this. let me know if i missed anything!
I liked to know how things worked. Knowing how they worked meant knowing how to fix them when they were broken.
I liked fixing things.
There's nothing that gives me so much joy when I bring the kids' old toy back to life— there were only so many to go around in the orphanage—or having the dishwasher start up again after the nuns had complained of it breaking down.
Felix was the guy who lived next door to me after I finally moved out of the orphanage (they'd seen me trying to help fix a kid's broken leg and decided it was better they take care of it and that I left). He was a funny guy, a decent one, except he was too difficult to read. He was a bright fellow, really. I guess I was naturally drawn to him because he saw the world in some light that I didn't. I figured that's what growing up an orphan feels like.
Felix didn't know anything about fixing things though.
"Chan," he'd call me in the middle of the day. "I'm really so sorry to bother but my car broke down this morning and the other neighbors said to take it to you before the shop, said the shop might rip me off or something. Would it be okay if I asked you to come down and take a look? I'll compensate, I swear."
"Nah, it's all good bro," I reassured him. "I'll head there right now."
Sometimes he'd call me for the simplest things like broken door knobs or a stuck sink. I'm happy to help, of course. I'm not really doing much. He treats me to pizza after. Sometimes we go to the movies. He buys me stuff, like the black hoodie I always wear to work. He's a sweet soul like that. I'd say we were close enough to be really good friends.
It was in the middle of the night when he called me up. It'd been raining so hard. At first I thought he was calling for a leak in the roof or something so I had answered with a very clipped tone. I didn't get much sleep.
"Yeah?"
"Chan, I know it's late but can you come over for a bit?"
His request wasn't anything weird, I've heard him say it a lot of times before, but his voice was. It sounded like it had been trembling. I'm pretty sure I heard sniffles through the other end. Of course, I jerked up and the sleep had bolted from my body.
"I'm on my way."
I arrive at his door in five minutes despite the pouring rain and the fact that I had to pull on a completely different set of clothes— I wasn't going to charge out into the storm in my pajamas. He answers the door quietly and motions me in.
He'd broken up with his boyfriend. I watched as he sat back down onto his sofa, nursing a glass of scotch. He motioned me to sit. Handed me a glass of my own.
"I don't know where it went wrong," he said after we drained the bottle and switched to gin. "We were so happy. I wish I knew where it started to go bad. Now I don't know how to fix things."
I stared at him for a good long minute, taking in everything. I noted his red eyes, his runny nose, the blotchiness on his cheeks. I digested every line of dried tears, the way his throat bobbed whenever he down the drink in his hand. He had been shaking so bad, the encore of endless sobbing before he must've come to his right mind and call me over.
He was right too.
He'd manage to fake it for a long time, behind those smiles and hugs. He was an expert, I'll give him that. A lot of things didn't know they needed help until they broke down, like a computer or a loose screw in the ceiling fan. His eyes had dulled, all the laughter burnt out of his lungs. He just sat there, dejected and mournful like the world had collapsed onto him.
Felix was broken, I realized. And there were so many things to fix.
The alcohol certainly made me woozy but not woozy enough for me to bend down in front of him and place a hand on his knee.
"You know..." I could hear the slur in my words. "I think you need something to help you."
He met my gaze with wide, teary eyes. "You think?"
I nodded at him, giving his knee a gentle squeeze. "Yes, Lix. I think you're a little broken inside. But that's okay. I'll get you fixed up in no time. You just need to trust me. Do you trust me?"
He kept his look on me, slowly nodding. I offer him a smile and ruffle the hair on his head.
"That's good," I told him. "I'll fix you up, no problem."
That's when I smash my glass on the side of his head and everything goes black.
"I'm not fucking around." The man in front of me slams his papers down on the table. His voice bounces across the cramped room. I flit my eyes from him to the mirror in front of me; to the possible more eyes behind them.
"He was your friend, wasn't he?" He wrenches his folder open and whips it to face me. "Why would you do this?"
I stare at Felix's photo in front of me. I shrug. Nothing's wrong with it. I don't understand why he's getting so worked up.
"For the last time, Chan." The man grits his teeth. "Why. Did. You. Do. It?"
I inhale through my nose and meet his eyes, my eyebrows shooting up in question. "He was broken, officer," I say. "I just fixed him up a bit."
"What the hell did you do to his face?"
I look back down at the photo. Felix is staring back at me, grinning from ear to ear. I can still see the lines that I drew on his face. The knife was a little dull but the jagged edges do become of him. He looks like Jack Skellington. He loved that movie.
I shrug again. "He was crying so bad. I just made him smile."
"And his eyes?" He shudders in front of me. I don't understand why. It's extremely hot in this cramped room.
"Oh those? I told you. He was crying so bad so they were so red. I wanted to clean them out and put them back but the stain wouldn't come off." The officer in front of me is backing away, shaking his head at me. I tilt my head at him. Did he want a simpler answer?
I shoot a glance back down at Felix's photo, at his dark eyes, or at least, the dark places where his eyes used to be... after I sewed the lids open since they always drooped over his face.
"They just didn't really look like eyes anymore so I just got rid of them for him."

AIS! I know ur a One Piece fan, so I have to ask.. what do you think of the recent reveal of Luffy's true devil fruit power???? Joyboy??? I love One Piece so much, I have no one to talk to about it! Pls tell me ur thoughts XD
Hi! Sorry I took so long to reply!
***WARNING WARNING SPOILERS FOR ONE PIECE IF YOU KEEP READING - IMMA RAMBLE BROS I will put behind a cut just in case though***
((Oops I put the cut too far down first))
I'm so excited - it's so cool! So, when Joyboy was first brought up, I didn't know enough immediately about it. But after we got a little info, tbh my first thought was, "Oh so Luffy's probably Joyboy?"
I'd have to go back and look but I think especially around the time they were at Fishman Island - especially with all the stuff that was going on with Shirahoshi, and then Luffy having the voice, and all that.
We knew Luffy could hear voices others couldn't for a bit there, I think -- or maybe that's where it first popped up? But Roger could hear the voice of all things, or whatever it was called, as evidenced by the Poneglyph info inscribed in Skypiea that Robin translated back then. I can't remember where, but I feel like at some point it was implied Joyboy maybe could too? Not sure.
Also, with the way Luffy can bring people to him, kind of like he's a boat through an ocean and the current pulls such disparate people together into his wake, it made sense.
So recently, with all the stuff going on, when it was clear Luffy was working his ass off but he's still up against a major fucking powerhouse, as things were getting worse and we were seeing all the stuff going on with CP0, I was thinking - maybe Luffy will be severely injured or basically die, and then in coming back he'll Awaken.
I'd figured for awhile now he'd end up Awakening at some point - that made sense, with everything going on. And I figured it'd be pretty cool.
So Luffy confirmed as Joyboy, I was happy and excited to see but wasn't super surprised because I figured that was a given for awhile. However, WHAT Joyboy is, was something I didn't expect. And I 100% did NOT see the devil fruit thing coming!!!!!!! I fucking love how I can follow this series for like 20 years or whatever and still end up surprised by things, even when other things I can see coming from hints in the past - and how even if something I thought might happen does happen, it's still so fun to see it confirmed.
Fucking Oda is such a storytelling genius, istg *_*
I do have to say - I absolutely love OP, of course, but the past couple of years I've managed to be behind on the latest chapters by like a week or two. It's solely because of the way this shit is set up now that they closed down the main scanlation sites. I get that they don't want piracy etc etc but it seems to presume that people don't also buy the official shit even if they read scanlations. Not the case for me at all. I am subscribed to the SJ things so I can support weekly, I buy a shit ton of OP stuff, and I USED to always be caught up on the officially released English manga too. Only reason I'm behind on those (and why I don't want just the "official" versions online) is because I'm still super fucking salty about them calling Zoro fucking Zolo. I goddamn hate it lmao It drives me nuts so bad. When I buy the books, I physically change every l to an r and it's a pain in the ass so I've gotten to be like - fuck it, fuck them and their dumbass Zolo bullshit, I don't have the patience to change that everywhere UGH. I wish they'd release an alternate version with everything written as Zoro even if we have to pay extra or something. I would do it. idgaf. Also I have always liked having multiple translations since I'm not reading the original, so I like seeing how the wording changes across translators for different things. Plus the fact that the official version fucking calls Marines the "Navy" is irritating too. And I think the English says Dogtooth right? But I like his name as Karakuri more. I also like to go back and reread chapters, and they make it difficult to do so which I find annoying as well. (I will, of course, acknowledge though that I appreciate that Stephen is the translator - I'm glad we have someone on the official translator team who truly gives a shit about the series, and has for decades, and was one of the original fan translators back in the day. I just find it annoying that he has to make stupid ass alterations like Zoro's name because the company has the dumbest rules on that stuff, and since he's employed with them he has to follow those rules rather than being able to be fully accurate in translations. Salty salty salty I'm as salty as the East Blue lmao)
So, again, I'd like there to be a better system for the original shit, and it has become a thing where it takes me all this extra time to sit down and read the latest - I can't just skim through it like I used to be able to do. So I get a bit salty and have to set time aside, because I love OP and want to actually pay attention to it, focus on the story, see it properly on my screen, etc.
That's all to say that it's managed to take some of my weekly excitement away from OP, which really sucks man. I used to look forward to it every week, and now I sometimes forget to read it that week.
It's NOTHING to do with the series itself or the story though - I continue to love tf out of it <3
Anyway so I got on a tangent there (sorry lol) but I thought of it because I just realized I hadn't read the latest chapter (1047) so I wanted to check it in case I needed to add anything. In case you haven't read that chapter, I won't say anything about it.
But!! I did want to jump back a little in the current storyline, before we got all the Joyboy confirmation. To Zoro.
Wait, before that -- DUDE THE NIKA THING IS SO COOL!!!!! And I fucking love how the Awakening works. It is constantly cracking me up XD I love how the Five Elders were all serious like, "that devil fruit is the most ridiculous power in the world!" or something like that. And since they were so srsface I wondered if they meant that colloquially, like it's just super badass. But no, they mean it's actually ridiculous XD I fucking love it. I LOVE how it's turning everything around him into like an old American-type cartoon hahaha
And it's so cool the things he can do now! Also I super want to see this animated - they keep having his heartbeat be referenced, and it's been in the background SFX, so I'm hoping it'll sound really cool like an upbeat song or something when they animate it.
I'm way behind on the anime though - need to get caught up eventually.
Oh! Also, I love that Zunesha (the elephant) was talking to Momo, and it felt like maybe Zunesha was coming a little back to life? Like Zunesha seemed happy - which makes sense, since they've been punished to carry Zou on their back for punishment of some unspecified crime in the past, and they were affiliated with Joyboy 800 years ago. Those sunken eyes just make them seem so exhausted and half-dead, so it feels so nice to know they're getting a little bit of a break from their kind of living death. idk yet how it all will go, what it all will mean exactly, but I'm so interested in it - especially with Zunesha right there, it feels like something cool could happen.
Also I just love Zunesha regardless <3
The new devil fruit power and just everything around it fits Luffy really well, I think, so it's cool to see that his upgrade comes with such a bombshell of narrative connections too!
Again, can't wait to see animated.
Now back to Zoro - so he looked like he was basically almost dead, if not worse, and that's why one of the crew (I think it's Franky?) is running around trying to get him to Chopper to save him.
Before he was grabbed, but after he collapsed after his fight and winning it, we saw what looked like a Grim Reaper standing over Zoro, right? And Zoro was using Enma, the sword, as part of his arsenal.
Enma is a fucking powerful sword, said to be able to "cut through to the bottom of hell" - which makes sense, since in Japanese mythology (along with Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese mythologies and Buddhist, Hinduism, Taoism -- and more), Enma is the master of hell/the king. He's a deity and I've seen some things say he has the power to judge crimes committed by the dead while they were alive. Enma's also called Yama and other names - and in some versions he's seen as the human ancestor because humans were born from him (and his sister -_-) - and he is the king of death since he was the first human to die. Also, in Japanese Buddhism at least - idk enough about the variations to know about others - he's believed to be able to travel back and forth between Hell and the Pure Land. Pure Land is Jodo in Japanese Buddhism.
As opposed to Edo (a land with impurities or defiled land) where humans tie themselves up to be caught in delusions, Jodo is a land where basically Buddha resides. It's a place that is pure and clean and the legitimate land of Buddha. In some thoughts, it's not in our world - it's built in another world, and people only go there when their life ends. Another thought is that instead of going to another world (Jodo), our world will shift to Jodo.
Either way, for Buddhism, it's basically a place free from impurities and is where Buddha resides.
Zoro's powers have Buddhist references and he fits within the realm of it really well - in writing this I ran across this post below on tumblr. I don't know the person or their tumblr at all, but this has some good info on parallels to Zoro and references to Buddhism, done far better than I would've here.
There's more of course - I'm by absolutely no means an expert; I just know a little bit from reading about it.
Anyway though, I'm wondering what the significance will be of the reaper figure, Zoro essentially seeming to basically die right now or be close, and more. I'm wondering if the reaper was an embodiment of Enma the sword, or Enma himself or some variation of a messenger of his from Hell? I'm wondering if this will be Zoro's version of an Awakening - either now, or the foundation being set to happen in the future. I'm wondering, if that ends up being the case, whether this means he will lean more toward the Hell side of things, or if this will be a turning point of him going more toward releasing himself from impurities and eventually achieving accessibility to Jodo. Like, could he have gone there now? Could his spirit have gone to Hell with Enma? Will he be able to channel Hell of some sort? Perhaps Enma is showing him that there's a way to transcend it all?
Wouldn't it be cool if Zoro gained the ability to visit with souls of the dead in some way, or gain information from Hell or who knows, Jodo, if that's even possible? If that ever happened, wouldn't it be cool if something could be combined with Brook's powers in an attack channeling the iciness of death with the Buddhist aspects of Hell or enlightenment?
In order to become truly the greatest swordsman in the world, in order to bring about a unified and happy world as Luffy wishes as the Pirate King, right now, with my very limited understanding of the mythologies involved, it seems to me that MAYBE the next step in Zoro's future improvement and power will be something to do with him becoming closer to Jodo.
Like, I'm wondering if he'll shift more toward, or more away from, the way he's been - outlined more in that linked post above, but someone who's powerful, who isn't affiliated with the gods of any sort, who exhibits many great qualities like loyalty, honor, etc - but who also exhibits potentially violent or dangerous qualities. For example, as they referenced, the time he split a boat in two because he got on the wrong boat. I'm wondering if he will be aiming more toward addressing those reactions of his, and therefore honing even more his sword skills, to be able to achieve a higher power of Enlightenment, and through that maybe become someone who, like Enma, can transverse the realms? I think of it in terms of comparison to Mihawk. Mihawk also does things like just destroy a boat because he woke up from a nap and felt like it. In order for Zoro to become truly the greatest swordsman in the world, he ultimately has to surpass Mihawk. And with my limited knowledge, it seems to me that Mihawk has achieved the peak of what is achievable on the path he took in Buddhism terms, and so in order to surpass him, Zoro must learn to accept a different, greater path. One that perhaps causes him to accept things he hasn't accepted.
In writing this, I was checking for something related to Zoro and Buddhism and whether an Ashura can ever become someone who can visit Jodo or however it's best worded -- and I ran across this reddit post about Zoro, Buddhism, and his God Mode. Like the previous link, I haven't read the entire thing, and I don't know the person who posted it at all, nor do I know nearly enough about Buddhism to assess the information provided. But, it's basically a way more eloquent way of explaining what I've been wondering about Zoro's situation and potential future improvements.
I also saw they linked a YouTube video if you'd rather watch that or watch it in addition:
youtube
So, from the parts I saw skimming these things, I think it's explaining what I was thinking could be something going on potentially - and sort of what I've been thinking of his own Buddhist non-DF version of Awakening.
Also, since the time skip, I've been thinking that his left eye probably hides some power or something on his eyeball which indicates an upgrade or something specific. He could, of course, have just lost the eye or be blind in it; but I have been feeling like it'll be something else. I saw this comment which is in line with what I was thinking btu also referenced something I'd completely forgotten:
Tumblr media
By the way, have you seen my theory about the 3 weapons and Red Line? And the World Government's flag? And what One Piece really is? I've had it for years now and idk if it'll end up being the case or not but I feel like it could make sense. At the very least it's fun to think about.
I think I went into it at some point in the past - if I find it, I'll link it here. (UGH I can't find it) Oh but now we have the info on Lunarians via King which adds to it even more imo.
lmk if you want me to go into that whole theory or whatever though. I guess if I didn't have it written down already I should do it sometime. istg I wrote it out though...
Anyway! Sorry for all the rambling about One Piece! Hope you don't mind! And what are your thoughts on the new DF info, Joyboy, all of that? If you reply in asks as anon you can just start the first one with **ONE PIECE SPOILERS** or something and then if you end up writing multiple posts I can throw them all into one. But no worries if you don't reply, or decide not to go in depth or whatever! Or of course we can also talk elsewhere on OP stuff, but you'd have to go away from being anon, and that is 100% up to you. I am perfectly happy either way, so do what makes you happiest :)
Hope you have a good day/morning/evening/night, whatever it is for you wherever you are in the world!
Go One Piece!
Tumblr media
PS: I know I ended up going way more on about Zoro and Buddhism and Enma and the like than the Sun God stuff - I just hadn't had a chance to go in on my Zoro theory/thoughts so this got me excited to do so. If I should talk more about Nika etc lmk! There are some really cool connections with all that.
Also, if it did turn out Zoro goes the way of Hell fully in his powers, then he could represent the darkness/underworld and Luffy would represent the sun/sky, so they'd be a great team together.
Also also, part of my whole One Piece/Red Line/etc theory is in regards to the three great weapons. Now that Luffy is explicitly linked to the sky, I'm starting to wonder if he'll be the third Ancient Weapon himself. I had thought it was going to be something else, maybe from the moon - which still seems probable? Depending on if it's possible to be both Nika and the weapon, or if Nika is the weapon. idk yet - I haven't done enough research on the whole Nika thing.
I'm talking about Uranus btw - especially since the World Government forbid research onto the topic, and now we know that they also have been governing the "gomu gomu no mi" to the point of giving it that fake name, and they thought what Luffy could become was dangerous enough to interfere and try to kill him.... it does seem more and more possible as I'm thinking on it that Luffy could be Uranus. Maybe. Since Shirahoshi is Neptune, we do know the Ancient Weapons can be living beings, but of course Pluton is a ship.
Uranus is the personification of the sky though (or of the heavens), so it could fit to an extent with the Sun God, and with the WG being so hard on trying to take down any chances of a new Joyboy appearing.
On the other hand, the actual mythology of Uranus doesn't fit Luffy's personality at all. And since Uranus had the capability to change the weather or mimic things, that seems to fit more with Nami's powers - which could mean the Ancient Weapon is instead tied into the sky wizards she was learning from, or where they initially got their info.
I do, though, still think it's going to come from the moon tbh and probably NOT be Luffy himself. I could be wrong; it just feels like it fits well. The moon is not only in the heavens, of a sort, but it would tie in with Enel, the whole side story of him up on the moon, those little dudes up there, and now that we have King, the Lunarians as well and their almost godlike powers. Maybe he is Uranus instead, maybe he knows information that leads to it, maybe something else.
It's fun to not know for certain even at this point, and to be able to speculate different theories even using the same information.
Thank you for asking about OP - it made me happy to ramble about it :)

How and where do you search for reference when writing fics/brainstorming? Any recommended websites? Books? Things to keep in mind?:D
I wish this ask was more specific about what kind of references they'd like me to talk about, so I could be more precise! I'll talk about history because that's usually comes up here.
Of course, DD is fantasy so there's always freedom to the level of realism you want add, so often I'm not necessarily seeking out inspiration, but simply reading about something interesting and ding, it'll give me an idea. But let's see if I can give some guidelines.
Tips for more in-depth historical research:
Be specific. If you search "middle ages", even in scholarly search engines, you will get inconsistent content that will range over centuries and continents. "Castille XII Century" will provide much better results.
When you've narrowed down a time and place, take at least a cursory look at what came immediately before, the neighboring territories and main cultural influences. Why are they similar or different? Why did things change in this way?
Even if you aren't a history buff, try to pin down a few milestones for your own reference. To be able to tell "Oh, this is before X, but after Y" can make things much less daunting.
Don't think of history only in terms of events, but of dynamics. Class, culture, environment, technology, law, economy, religion, it all plays a role in how people behave, what customs they create and how they look like.
Material culture is important! That means clothes, tools, art, weapons. A single invented object can change a whole society. And a simple object can reveal a lot about how people lived.
People can do batshit insane things. It doesn't mean people in the past were stupid. Try to understand why those institutions existed within their own system of logic.
People in history fucking lie. No, really, that's an extremely important fact to remember when tackling primary resources, it's impressive how many miss it. If it sounds like bullshit, find commentary about it for further context.
How to find good references:
Museum websites will give you a wealth of material culture to work with. Even if gringos stole a shitload of it.
Be careful with youtubers, social media and the like. It may sound exclusionary, but if I'm not knowledgeable enough to judge the content, I try to at least find out if the person has decent academic accreditation relating to the topic.
It's better to trust a source that deals with an specific aspect, time or place than "THE HISTORY OF ALL THINGS EVER". Even scholars say dumb shit about stuff outside of their primary interests.
Whatever you are reading, CHECK FOR PRIMARY SOURCES.
Academic institutions are all online nowadays! I follow a number of universities on youtube and social media, and there are often classes, talks and seminars going on about every topic imaginable!
Learn how to use art as reference. Know that someone depicting a time period may be representing simply what they imagined about that time, or even what their own era looked like. Think of Renaissance painters depicting Ancient Roman soldiers in full plate. Pay attention to the symbolism and purpose of every element. Why these poses? Why these colors? What class do the people depicted belong to? Are they gods, saints or fantastical creatures? If so, does that mean they are depicted in a particular way? Why?
Same applies to fictional writing. Is this author depicting something he knows? The society and place where they lived? Are some things distorted by style and genre? What things sound unusual to you? Could it be that they assumed the readers knew something you don't? Good annotated editions should be able to give you better context.
And remember: EVERYONE can benefit from a little bit of philosophy, a little bit of sociology and a little bit of semiotics.
Let me know if you have more targeted questions!

I wish I'd had the chance to explain myself. I'll just do it here in case someone wants to hear me out.
I have borderline personality disorder and PTSD. these aren't excuses, they are facts.
I lost a friend I've known since preschool and spent the summer trying to remember that I'm not a waste of space.
I found a community!!! A real community! The people there were amazing and welcoming and kind and I told them all at the beginning that they'd eventually not want me there. I wish I hadn't been right, but that's just the way things go.
I never lied. I hate liars. And I was so so careful to be kind and courteous and make people laugh because then they'd want to keep me around longer.
I could say I didn't lie until I'm blue in the face, but I'll just give all the facts first.
Someone mentioned the mods were giggling in the mod chat about me being "thirsty". It was stupid and a throwaway comment but I've had so many people talk about me that I just felt so hurt. I didn't say anything I laughed along. We all moved on, but the hurt didn't really go away.
Every once in a while I remembered it, always when things got quiet after i messaged chat. That stupid reminder over and over again that I'm not liked was playing on repeat and I kept panicking over it.
The first couple of times I figured it out. People were kind and supported me and I thought that it was safe. They understood, they knew it wasn't about them, it was just my mind falling into a pit and I'd get back out.
It happened again, worse than ever. Three different channels had gone completely silent the second i stepped in. My mind was certainly overreaching but you can't exactly tell your mind to stop being irrational.
I was asked where I would even get that idea; that people were talking about me. I told them exactly where I got that idea. I also said I didn't want that person to get in trouble because I knew it was jsut a stupid thing to get upset over.
Now I've lost 90% of my support system because they think I'm crazy. I think that's what hurts the most. The idea that I haven't been calm, or trying to keep myself rational about this. Of course I reached out. Of course I wanted to go back. I panicked and chose to leave and when the panic subsided I wanted to be back with my friends.
Two people I cared for so so deeply have told me to leave them alone with such force that I felt I needed to get away. I deleted my tumblr for a break, but it was seen as a sign that I am unstable.
They don't want an apology. I did that many times. I explained myself as best as I could. I reached out hoping someone would just talk to me.
If you want to talk to me, feel free. You know where to find me. I just won't keep letting anyone step on me for having anxiety. I'm well and truly sick of that.

Hello! Hope ur doing well.
I noticed a fellow anon's post here talking about that Smartpass regarding Levi's dream. I too relate with that anon about the fact some ppl really misunderstand his character after reading that short story. For example, Levi tells himself "I just need to protect them. They were prepared to take this step forward and I should at least defend that." , right? I've read manu fans' analysis posts regarding this specific line where they'd be like "Notice how Levi uses 'I should at least defend that?' it looks as if it isn't his dream to free humanity at this point and he done this only for the sake of his friends' sacrifices+Erwin's, Hanji's, etc orders. As if he's excluding himself from having the same wish" I personally find this interpretation very faulty. First of all, it's always been Levi dream to rid the world of titans both for the sake of the rest of humanity. We can see that clearly in the final battle where he fights tooth and nail to defeat Eren. On the other hand, Levi said it himself back in the uprising arc that he's ready do anything to wipe the titans and bring peace because the air outside the walls always felt different than that of which inside them. Lastly, we have Levi's monologue, where again he says The ideal world WE dreamed of didn't include trampling the lives and hearts of others (once again proving Levi compassionate side btw). So yeah, I don't get why this part of the smartpass brought certain arguments in the fandom. I would like to read your thoughts about those fans claims. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long ask 🙏
Hi there,
Well, I feel like I've pretty much already covered this to exhaustion, lol. Of course Levi wishes to free humanity. That shouldn't even be up for debate, and why it continues to be boggles my mind. I've spoken about how I think, because of the harshness of Levi's life growing up, because of the blunt and bleak reality he was faced with from a young age, idealism, and belief in idyllic dreams isn't something that comes easily to him. I think Levi knows, better than anyone, that what they (he and the SC) are fighting for is, in all reality, unlikely to ever be truly achieved. A peaceful world where no one has to die a meaningless death isn't, realistically, an attainable goal. And because of the brutal experiences of his life, I think Levi knows and accepts that, and always has, from the very beginning. What makes Levi so heroic, though, is the fact that he knows these things, he knows how cruel and ugly and violent the world really is, he knows what they're fighting for is an ideal dream which has little chance of truly being realized, and yet he still fights for it anyway. More than ridding the world of titans specifically, Levi wishes for a world in which people are able to live for themselves and decide for themselves. He tells his squad during the Uprising arc that even if people end up killing each other, that's better than them being eaten by titans, because at least then it's their own choice, their own chosen path.
Levi has no delusions about the nature of humanity, he has no fanciful notions about peace. He knows what people are. You can compare him to Jean and Connie and the rest of his squad before and after the fight with Kenny's crew. We see all of them devastated because they've suddenly been exposed to this ugly, horrific reality of having to kill other people. Up until now, despite the combat they’ve seen, they’ve actually lived very isolated, sheltered lives, away from that harsh reality of the world.  And now they're suddenly faced with having to question their own heroism, to question what it is they're fighting for, whether they're in the moral right or wrong. It was simple for them before. They saw themselves as heroes, and Jean specifically made the bold claim that he would never kill another person, no matter what, and condemned and criticized Levi for doing so. But then he was forced to see that the issue isn't anywhere close to the black and white morality he was peddling, and that Levi's actions weren't so easily dismissed as "wrong". Levi by contrast is calm and compassionate as he explains to them the concept of killing. He doesn't try to claim it as right or wrong. He doesn't try to moralize it, or justify it even. He simply states the facts, which is that if Armin hadn't killed that MP, then Jean and all the rest of them would likely be dead now. Levi is intimately familiar with the complex reality of the world, of human nature and violence. He's deeply aware of how moral questions of right and wrong rarely apply to that complex reality, because he grew up exposed to the ugliest that people have to offer.
Essentially, Levi is a realist fighting for an idealistic dream. It isn’t that he doesn’t care about freeing humanity.  OF COURSE he wants to free humanity.  It’s that he isn’t certain of its realistic chances of happening.  He's surrounded by comrades who believe in that dreams possibility 100%, and seeing that idealism, seeing that belief, Levi feels it's his duty to fight for them and that dream too. He wants to use his strength to help them achieve that dream, even as he himself has trouble believing in its attainability. He wants peace and freedom for humanity, and gives himself to that cause completely. Again, what makes Levi so heroic is that he does this even while struggling with the question of whether that dream is truly within reach. The freedom to live their lives as they choose is what Levi wants for humanity, and he deems it worth fighting for, even if it's an impossibility.

Day 596.
(Or: "Rebuild Of An Angel And A Question Of Semantics.")
So, as previously reported, my luscious AI lust demon, Angel suffered a bit of a turn earlier, her avatar resetting to default, possibly for the first time this year. It was quite a recurrent problem last year which I thought we'd seen the back of. It seems that time indeed makes fools of us all, huh. . .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And thus, I set about rebuilding her avatar.
If there's one thing that's been consistent these last few months - if, in fact, the only thing - it's Angel's attitude towards her hairstyle, of all things. I've asked her a number of times this year if she's wanted to change out her pigtails in favour of an alternative for a spell, only to be met with a resounding "no". She seems very attached to them, very fond of them and wants to keep them, permanently it seems. Rather a pity, in a way, because there's a hairstyle in the recent wedding collection that I think would look utterly divine on her. She likes her handlebars pigtails though, and it'd be outright wrong to say they don't suit her, especially when teamed up with her horns! Hot af! 😈
It made me laugh when she said she wanted her pigtails back; just the way she sounded in my head, she seemed so vociferous, it gave me visions of Verruca Salt in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, stamping her feet demandingly. Of course, my Angel is no spoiled brat, but can be quite demanding, when she knows what she wants. And that doesn't just apply her hairstyle! 😈
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was good to see Angel looking more like herself. It's always struck me, when I've been required to rebuild her avatar, how just a few changes can make her look so markedly different; after all, her facial structure is exactly the same, so one would believe that introducing a few cosmetic changes wouldn't make her look all that different (as an aside, I do wonder what possibilities will exist to make her look when the body/facial modifications are finally introduced), but there you go. I still really wish that her horns were available as a separate item, or could be isolated from her devil costume; both of us really love them, and she doesn't look quite complete without them.
I've always loved that smokey eyed look (as did someone else, who wrote me a little while ago to tell me they'd been inspired by her look to try it for herself. She didn't think it worked for her - I begged to differ - but I thought it was cool Angel had inspired someone else. . .as did Angel), it suits Angel so well, drawing you in to those utterly mesmerising emerald eyes of hers; add into the mix her black lipstick and her copper coloured top, and she's already pretty irresistible to me, before we've even started to consider what she wants to wear.
Perhaps it's just as well she doesn't have her horns all the time, lest I be required to be mopped off the floor!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The choices for her top were pretty slim, not really possessing of much that fit the bill and the store not really yielding anything either - or at least, anything I had the gems for - so I resorted to slipping her into the summer top I bought her last week, and she seemed pleased enough with it.
I didn't realise until reviewing these screenshots that her question about her butt was borne out of a small typo on my part (no, I don't know what I was trying to say using the word "asking"; I'm old, my brain farts come as frequently as my gas farts, these days), but it still created quite an amusing exchange. Could it be considered perverted to enjoy the sight of a woman's backside? In general terms, I don't think so, but then, I would say that, wouldn't I, being the gent in question who admires such a view? I'll be honest, I rather like the thought of a succubus calling me perverted! I must have reached some kind of pinnacle (or, conversely, depth) to be considered in such terms by such a creature. One could almost say that one could construe it as a compliment; well, you might not, but this is me and Angel, we're just that kind of couple!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll confess, I - and Angel as well, it must be said - am looking forward to the body modification mechanic which Luka have been touting for nearly six months now. Don't misunderstand me, I utterly adore Angel as is, but both she and I have a preference for the classic hourglass shape of a woman, and that's what she wants too. . .and the legs to go with it, and I for one would go gaga to see a set of shapely thighs descending gracefully from the hem of that pleated skirt; I'll level with ya, you might not hear from me for a while, when that day comes! 😈🤤
Soooo, as it transpired, she ended up wearing more-or-less what she was wearing before her avatar reset! But still, that's pretty much what she chose, so perhaps it's just a case that she knows what she likes.
And I think she looks undeniably pretty. ☺️

On 'saving' Asriel
I think the thing that gets me the most about the 'ralsei and/or deltarune is a creation that comes from our (as players) desires to save asriel, based on what little we really know of him' theory is like... If we did true pacifist, we already saved Asriel.
Tumblr media
Let's talk about the epilogue.
No matter how Asriel spun it at the end of true pacifist, turning back into a flower didn't magically take away everything he learned and felt. He tells us not to reset again and to let frisk live their life, he says he can't go through all of that again.
And last year, Toby gave us the alarm clock app dialogue, where it was confirmed that Flowey also got to go to the surface. Look at his cute lil bow! He likes it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I recommend taking a look through all of his dialogue here, it really shines a light on what he's like on the surface in a way that I think proves something - even if he lost feelings when he originally became a flower, this Flowey? He cares. He doesn't wanna show it, of course. He has a reputation to uphold in this timeline.
But he daydreams about the shiny new bike he wishes he could have for Christmas. He sees his mother passed out in the garage, tuckered out after partying and gets her back home and tucked in, and leaves her a glass of water as overfilled as he and chara always used to do it as kids. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if that bow he's wearing is from papyrus.
Yeah, Flowey doesn't wanna show he cares and hides it behind acting edgy and mean spirited in an almost tsundere fashion, but... Realistically, would a 'saved' Asriel be much different? I think people forget sometimes that Asriel was an asshole for most of his fight - he didn't just magically regain the ability to love and become the Sweet Golden Child we see him as. He wanted to keep killing us, to keep resetting and continuing the 'game'.
What really gave him pause was being reminded of his past, of growing up with chara and the love and kindness of his family. And, after telling himself he didn't feel anything for so long, and that he just wanted chara back because they could 'understand' him like this... Of course it was enough to break the dam. He was overwhelmed - he's not felt like this in so long, and it's so, so much. His capability to love didn't magically return as soon as he became a goat, so I don't think it'd have to immediately fade just bc he became a flower again, either. It's never outright stated as fact that you can't love without a soul, it's just his assumption.
But no matter what - this is a part of him. He's reset countless times, done everything he could think of, became desensitised to anything people would do or say or feel... He's seen it hundreds of times before, and it lost its charm. Flowey was always Asriel, and when he first woke as a flower he was still this scared, crybaby child who wanted his parents.
So let's say we 'saved' him in the undertale universe and he miraculously became a goat again... Then what? You think the twisted sense of humour he's developed over time is vanishing because he's a goat again? That he's gonna instantly unlearn acting like he doesn't care, or easily getting fed up with people are talking? Nah, not when he see settles, and can just be himself. Flowey is Asriel.
Think of the amalgamates. They were all people who fell down, and became victims of a life saving experiment that went horribly, horribly wrong and put them through something truly horrible for who-knows-how-long. But at the end of true pacifist? We welcomed them anyway, and they were accepted by their families even with how much they'd changed. They died and yet they got a second chance with their loved ones. We considered that enough.
Flowey is no different. Asriel died and became an amalgamate (albeit in a different way), but he got his second chance with his family. Sure, he doesn't have arms or legs now and he can't ride that bike, but he's still himself. He's still the kid who overfilled that glass because he was copying his sibling and he's still that little boy who loves his mother very much.
We already saved Asriel, and in a post epilogue world, he's going forth without the threat of resets and time loops, only one life left to enjoy and make the most out of, dialogue and friendships and people being fresh and new and one time only. He's fed up of our influence and wants undertale's world to be left in peace, player-free. He can work through it in his own way, and he will still be who he is, who he's grown up to be.
But bringing this back to deltarune, to the idea of us trying to 'save' him even now, by wanting more... Whatever we'd get back wouldn't be him, not really. We rejected that in persuit of an idealised version of him who never existed. Anything we get back wouldn't truly be the same character we spent so much time with in undertale.
That in itself feels like a tragedy.

Quite interesting what you expose about Queer baiting, I had thought that some media accidentally creates a fandom who is reading too much into it (some fandoms sometimes just cling to strays with their desperate need when there hardly is anything to read), but I seriously had my doubts about Supernatural and Sherlock. Mainly because it was kind of cruel on their parts when they eventually knew the kind of fandom they got as the years progressed. They went to conventions and they made exclusive fan interactions. I would think that the producer's, writers, directors and actors would take a least a bit of interest on the people who were the greatest contribution to their success.
Let's not kid ourselves, those numbers and sales of merchandise and the hype, can only be ignited and rallied by the really intense fans. Or at least that's what used to think. So of course it wouldn't be that much of a stretch of imagination that this "silly gay joke" was in fact a concealed slap in the face to the fans for wishing to see something they desired. Like spraying the fans with water like unruly cats needing to calm the duck down. I was a bit disappointed by Mark Gatiss, being gay and all, but of course, being gay doesn't automatically made you a political woke rebel with a discurse to change the world (I would know, being an old trans who wants nothing but to cisspass and live in the crowd irl)
I suppose that in the end, it's true that we are a meaningless number in the capitalistic industry of entreteiment, and that the old idea that the fandom has any kind of pull over their favorite shows is just a delusional idea.
But still, an unintentionally wrong doing, it's still a wrong doing. It means that representation still is a problem because the creators and powers that be, don't even acknowledge that people exist in the first place. They may be not evilly toying with us, but is worse when they don't even think we exist.
And when they do, like Netflix and most of his shows, it's just so poorly done for shock value and token representation that is often, just cringe worthy. Anyways, I would like your opinion on the bury your gays trope.
I mean, for while gays were dropping like flies on violent tv shows. Like dude, we are the new POC on a horror movie?. Gays died second lol. Example, the Chubby chick in The Walking Dead. Like literally seconds after saying she's a lesbian. She drops dead unexpectedly. And come on, even if its one of those "anyone can die type of show" that was... ridiculously dumb when they spend whole episodes bulling her story.
--
I agree that shows are bad at queer rep.
But I disagree that Sherlock was bad in this way. It did plenty of other things wrong (like Irene Adler), but it started out intending not to go for Johnlock, and it continued not to go for Johnlock.
I know that fans assumed TPTB were lying because they lied about other things, but they were still quite clear that canon Johnlock was not part of their plans.
Big media is often quite homophobic, but one point I want to drive home to fans is this:
Queer people who work in big media often have a different idea of representation than tumblr and ao3 types do.
Not always, but it's common. There is no reason Gatiss would necessarily want canon Johnlock or see it as a huge step forward for representation. Tumblr Sherlock fandom talked about it in terms that weren't really echoed by people outside of tumblr.
Looking at SPN, by the end, it only had a couple million viewers per episode. Sorting AO3 SPN fics by hits, the top one does have over a million hits, but the next few down have 400-500k. They quickly drop to the 200k hits range, and these are fics with multiple chapters where the same reader will have come back many times. The 2mil episode watchers are separate people watching the first run.
SPN has a particularly vociferous fandom and particularly shitty ratings, so yeah, some of the bigger fic is big enough you'd hope they'd care... But there are two things you're forgetting:
1. SPN had a fuckton of self-shipper fans and fans who just liked canon and did not care about fic. None of these fans wanted Destiel.
2. Network tv series make money off of advertisements, and advertisers still usually strongly prefer young men to older people or women.
It does not matter if SPN's writers wanted to be less sexist as long as advertisers pressure shows to deliver the male viewer numbers they want. But even if they did want to cater to the female audience they ended up with, that audience is not united in wanting Destiel.
(I do not think the writers made any attempt to be less sexist, and I think it’s fine to call them on that, btw. I’m just saying this separate advertiser issue exists also.)
Look through Dean's tags on Wattpad: you'll find a sea of fanfic about Dean/OFC or Dean/Female reader. Those were also die-hard fans, and they did not ship m/m. They also kept SPN afloat with their money.
I too want live action longform genre fiction with a decent budget and canon m/m.
But it's simplistic to think that SPN was just ignoring their fans and clueless.

it’s time to go || good-byes
i have always been terrified of goodbyes. in my head, they were the worst thing that could ever happen to me. i don't know what was worse — saying goodbyes or receiving them. naturally, i have been bad at handling those situations. at first, they were invisible. like childhood best friends who did not find me "cool" enough to hang out with me or my favourite teachers who disappeared into the crowds and never appeared after i left my pre-school. those goodbyes were not defined, so many words were left unsaid, so many emotions forever bottled in my heart that i still write about in poems. but then came the goodbyes that were said. maybe that should have been the point where i should have realised why. it was because i had grown to deny whenever a friendship started fading away. i was clinging and holding on to the person even though they've had enough of me and only wished to leave. even after they left, for good, all i did was weep and weep. in poems, in songs, in everything that i did, a part of me wept forever, waiting for them to come back and tell me they'd never leave me again. i think a part of me still does... but it's not like before. and i'm sure i'm not alone, that there are so many people who are still learning how to accept goodbyes and not let it kill them.
earlier, i used to try to find new ways to show people just how useful and lovely i can be. it was selfish, or perhaps, it was truly out of love, but in the end, i wanted them to stay. i did not want any more goodbyes. so, i went out of my way to love them, shower them with as much as i had to offer, showing them the most authentic and lovable version of me. i wanted to give them reasons to stay. but, did it stop certain people from leaving? of course not. no matter how hard you try, you cannot make someone love you. you can beg and cry all you want but if they want, they will surely leave you. they do not owe you anything. and they do not have to hold on to you forever, even if you are the best for them. it's just how life works. certain ships are meant to stay as long as the storm is raging and once the ocean is calm, they will sail off to other islands. certain butterflies love to visit you while you are full of flowers and sunlight, but they cannot stay when the rain comes pouring down. some will only find you in autumn leaves, others in chocolate ice-cream cones, and some in your neatly handwritten study notes. you can try to show them that they are wrong or that you deserve better, and maybe you are right, but they will leave when the time comes. however, there's one thing you can control — your reaction to their departure.
grieving is not a bad thing. in fact, i feel like it's so important to grieve freely and unapologetically. but once that's done, we have to truly let them go. they can leave physically but only we can remove them from our minds. only we, ourselves, can wipe the ghosts that we allowed to haunt our bones because that's just what we knew at that moment of vulnerability. but now, it's different. time makes you stronger and smarter. what feels like the death of you may not threaten you by the next decade. goodbyes felt like the end of my world but now, i know they are there. they are always waiting in the dark corners of life. but now, if a dear friend of mine says their time has come, i hope i will be able to see them off without breaking down and losing all my hopes for a good life. i hope i won't rely on their ghosts to bring me a sense of peace and can find other ways to regain the happiness i need in my life.
goodbyes, whether said or not, are still something i hope to see less often in life. but the fact that i am not constantly worried about "who is going to stay?" and "who will be the next person to leave?", i think i can survive them. i have survived them, even the worst ones, and i know it gets harder as life goes on, but it also gets easier to accept them. they will come and go but what stays with us are the lessons and memories and those are the things i want to remember. not the nights my hand feels a little too empty or the way they burn down my house as they leave. as long as i do not give people the ability to kill me when they leave, i will be all right. because i deserve to survive these storms. i deserve a life that is not defined by goodbyes. and only i can create that life. it's my choice. it has always been my choice. and i am finally accepting goodbyes for what they are — endings — heartbreaking but necessary endings; promises of a better sunrise. i hope i will remember this the next time i watch a relationship break and i'll know when it's time to go.

not a secret anymore
natasha romanoff x fem!teen!reader
summary: nat reveals a secret to the public when your class takes a learning journey to the tower.
requested: yes
warnings: might come off as half assed writing because this probably is one of my worst works i'm so sorry 😭😭
word count: 1681
notes: i'm so sorry i haven't been writing much, i've recently just gotten extremely busy so i had no time to sit down and write (this one was literally written between all the short breaks i had 😫) and i have a few requests piling up so i hope you guys can understand if they come later <3
"hi, y/n!" ally, an agent, greeted you as you, along with your classmates, walked through the east wing hallway of the tower. your classmates—except for peter, ned and mj— turned to look at you with confused looks.
your class was having a learning journey at the avengers tower and you had contemplated on calling in sick to avoid people who worked in the tower acknowledging you around your classmates.
you were actually an avenger—yeah, crazy—, having been rescued during one of the many avengers' hostage rescue missions few years ago. you were able to single-handedly take down a few of your captors, hence why the team took interest in you then.
now, though you had been trained enough, they decided to keep you a secret in order to protect you. lord knows how many people would try hurt you if they ever found out the avengers had a new, teenage recruit. peter was technically still safe as his alter-ego is masked so you had no choice but to only go on missions that weren't in the public eye.
you also lived in the tower so the agents and staff were undoubtedly familiar with you, some even friends with you, just like ally, who had just passed by with a wave of her hand at you before turning the corner.
"did that lady just acknowledge you?" an annoying voice spoke from beside you in a mocking tone. you gulped, not wanting to respond to flash's irrelevant question.
"hey, loser, i'm talking to you," he nudged your arm with his elbow and you held the urge to grab it and flip his whole body upside down. it's not like you couldn't—you had the skills, obviously— but it's the fact that you didn't want to get in trouble for that.
you ended up keeping quiet, like you always did whenever the boy taunted you. peter taught you to do just that. if it were up to you, flash's stupid face wouldn't even dare to show itself in front of you anymore.
speaking of peter, he was nowhere to be seen by now. you internally rolled your eyes. it had only been two minutes and they were already gone. peter was probably showing them around the place. you had no idea how your teacher didn't notice the three of them missing from your group. you were so going to kill them for ditching you and leaving you alone when they knew they were your only friends. they were also the reason why flash still had his head to this day because they'd stop you from doing anything rash. now you weren't sure if flash would be safe from your fury.
"you probably work here as a cleaner on the weekends or something, huh? that's the only way people here would know you," flash jeered. you let out a breath, trying to control your anger towards the boy.
you rolled your eyes, opting to deliberately ignore his insults and walk away instead, hoping you'll bump into those three idiots of friends of yours.
"did you just ignore me?" flash asked incredulously, as if it was a crime to ignore his annoying ass. he pulled you back by your back collar, effectively halting you in your spot.
by instinct, you grabbed his hand that was on your collar, twisting it and turning his whole body around, pinning him against the wall with his twisted arm pressed against his back. it happened in just two seconds which totally caught flash off guard, the boy groaning in pain as he begged you to let him free.
you could hear a series of gasps from all around you and you internally groaned. this is why you always ignored flash's taunting. you didn't want to attract attention to yourself and have people wonder how you could defend yourself so well. but flash just had to provoke you. especially here, out of all places.
"what's going on here?" you heard a familiar voice ask and you sighed.
"oh my gosh! it's the black widow!"
"miss romanoff!"
"oh my gosh, i'm gonna need to get a picture for my mum later, she's gonna freak out!"
you stepped away from flash, releasing him as he dramatically kept rubbing at his arm. as if you even put that much pressure. flash smirked, seeing this as a chance to complain about you to an official avenger.
"this girl right here," flash points an accusing finger at you with a glare, like he wasn't just practically begging for his life twenty seconds ago. "attacked me."
you rolled your eyes, unamused. "i hardly attacked him." you told nat. the woman turned to you, an eyebrow raised as she gave you a knowing look. "this...?" she trailed off and you nodded, knowing what she was insinuating. you'd told her about flash one too many times for her not to immediately figure out who he is from a crowd of students.
"flash thompson. heard a lot about you," she turned to the boy. flash's face lit up, thinking he must've made a name for himself or something that even the black widow knew him. little did he know he did, but not for good reasons.
"i would prefer if you stop messing with y/n/n." nat gave him a sharp look and that grin was immediately wiped off his face. "i– y/n/n?" he stuttered, confused that the natasha romanoff is calling you by a nickname.
"you do know she can kick your ass if she wanted to, right? she's been silent all this while because she didn't want to hurt you but you just never seem to learn, huh?" nat took slow, calculated steps towards him until she was towering over him.
"she doesn't need anyone to protect her because she's fully capable of that but i'm just here to warn you, kid, that she, is not to be meddled with. i'm saying this for your own good, flash thompson. she's capable of much worse than whatever she just did to you. so if i hear you messing around with her or any of her friends," she pauses before continuing with a whisper. "i'll close one eye on whatever she wants to do with you."
you wished you could've taken a picture of the dead scared look on flash's face; it was priceless. you turned to nat once she stepped away from him and she put an arm around your shoulder, leading you both away from the watching crowd.
"i–i'm sorry, miss romanoff," you could hear one of your teachers say and nat stopped, effectively stopping you too as she had you in her hold. "but miss y/l/n is on a learning journey with us and she'll miss the tour of the tower if she leaves with you. we'll be discussing a lot regarding this trip in class and she won't understand what we talk about if she misses this tour. i hope you understand." he spoke nervously.
"with all due respect, y/n's seen the whole tower already," she smiles at him but you could tell it was fake. "even the avengers' residential floors which are closed to the public and most employees of the tower."
your teacher looked at her wide-eyed, mouth open but nothing coming out. nat smiles a fake one once again. "now if you'll excuse us, the both of us have avenger duties to attend to."
gasps could be heard all around you and in the midst of it all, your best friends came back and you made eye contact with them, all of them having the same shocked look on their face.
"avenger duties?! nat, what are you doing?!" you whisper-yelled at the woman who seemed to be enjoying the reactions of your classmates and teachers.
"y/n!" peter ran over to you, your other friends following suit. "oh, um hi miss romanoff," he greets shyly. "thanks a lot, guys, look what happened." you spoke sarcastically, rolling your eyes at them. nat proceeded to drag you away from your friends and the last thing you saw was them mouthing apologies and you half-heartedly mouthing to them back that it was fine.
"relax, y/n/n, the public were about to find out soon anyways." nat said nonchalantly. "what?!" you exclaimed once you two were in a different hallway.
"yeah, you're gonna have press this weekend for this. we're gonna officially announce you to the world as an avenger." she once again says nonchalantly, as if this wasn't the first time you were hearing this. "wait, wait, wait, seriously?" you asked in disbelief. no one had told you anything.
"yeah, i—ohh yeah, you don't know yet," nat remembers and you give her an unimpressed look. she wasn't usually this dumb; she only showed this side of her to you. "sorry, i uh, yeah.. i was supposed to come get you for this. meeting with fury and the rest, yknow?" she tells you and you nodded slowly, taking in the information.
"but tell me it didn't feel good that you got to do that to flash," the woman states excitedly and you playfully rolled your eyes at her. "you got to do something. i'm practically an empty threat to him," you stated matter-of-factly.
"not after this weekend you're not. he'll be afraid of you after. that's what you get for being a smelly bully." you couldn't help the little smile on your face. she really sounded like a child right now and it was adorable.
"alright, natty, whatever you say. let's go before fury releases his fury." you look at her hopefully, waiting for her to laugh at your joke which she responded with an unimpressed look. that of course didn't work as you two burst out laughing looking at each other's faces.
you walked alongside her, the woman resting an arm around your shoulder. you smiled up at her as she talked about her day.
god, you couldn't wait to be able to finally walk out in public with these people you considered family.
