In no specific order, and I'm not going to give reasons, I just know that they are aroace (some have strong aroace coding, others just give me aroace vibes). AroAllo Bucky Barnes aesthetic (AU: Sweet Surrender)

I wanted to make Bucky a moodboard for aro week and after receiving some lovely comments on my fic Sweet Surrender recently, I decided to create one for Bucky in that AU.

I tried to capture his confidence, playfulness (especially with Steve), the importance of his garden and how healing nature has been for him.

An exert:

It wasn’t until after the fall he discovered, through the Queer community in the twenty-first century, a word that encompassed that experience for him. Aromantic.  It was freeing for Bucky, learning there were others like him. It had been extremely alienating at times… those around him all seemed to share the same dream, of marriage and having children—the nuclear family. A dream he couldn’t relate to. Despite their differences Steve always accepted and loved Bucky for who he was. As did their new friends. Who, like Steve, had all become part of the future he imagined for himself. He adored their dysfunctional little family and with their support, Bucky was the happiest he’d been in a long, long time. Maybe ever. The future never looked so bright. Steve pictured Bucky, his best guy, in his future too. That was nothing new. They were a package deal, and if he met someone who was threatened by Bucky’s presence in his life, then it simply wasn’t meant to be.

So, in his own words, he’s “the most shallow man on earth”. When we first meet him, he claims he could be living the high life with a harem in the kingdom of might.

YEAH RIGHT. Like Senku, we don’t see Gen finding women (or men) attractive, though there’s a moment or two that implies he wouldn’t mind the attention. And I think that’s it. Attention. He enjoys it, and he sometimes talks about or tries seeking it out, but it doesn’t seem to be related to romance, nor does he seem to value it in that way.

Into head canon/analysis territory! As professional mentalist and self-claimed shallowest man, I feel like he wouldn’t believe in romance. Emotions are easy to manipulate, and tend to be irrational. I also don’t think he likes the vulnerability. It’s one of the reasons why he doesn’t like alcohol (canon).

Something else interesting about Gen is that he always attributes other reasons/motives for being loyal to the kingdom of science. He prefer to downplay emotions as a factor, but his relationships within the series are real. I think he has great fondness for everyone, but wouldn’t call it love. Something to think about maybe.

In the end, he’s the guy who joined the kingdom of science for a single bottle of cola. How can you be more aro than giving up a harem for food?? Very real of him!

I didn’t mention everything but I’m sure there’s more! This is just coming from one silly little aroace dr stone obsessed guy

I'm aroace and a teenager, and though I know I'm definitely aro, I'm not 100% confident of my asexuality. Maybe I really am just a late bloomer.

But you know what? Even if that's right, even if I'm not actually ace, I would never have found out about my identity if I hadn't taken that dive, researched asexuality and found that it resonated with me. I wouldn't be the person I am today. I'd still think I was just some cishet girl (I'm genderqueer and my pronouns are ae/aer, by the way), not even knowing the meanings of some of the words I know now. I would still be faking crushes, perhaps, though I only did that once, in the knowledge that crushes are Something People Have and therefore I should probably have at least one at one point in my life.

I've grown so much. I used to be aroallophobic (if that's a word??) and now I realise that aroallo people are valid. And honestly, thinking anything else feels stupid now. But society had conditioned me to think that sex was part of romance, and that sex with someone you don't like romantically was horribly wrong. How stupid society is, and how stupid I was not to have noticed!

So, if I turn out not to be ace, well then, that's just how it is. And it's not a bad thing, it's just a thing. If my labels change, so be it. Everything changes, sometimes. But now is when I am asexual, and that in itself is a joyful thing. And if I'm not asexual, that will be great, too! A different kind of joy, yes. But joy all the same.

Why do people like you get so triggered when someone tags a post 'acearo' or something instead of just 'aro'? /gen

Well, I'm not bothered by tags that are aroace or acearo on general aromantic content. I know that general aromantic content applies to those that are aroace and therefore don't have a problem with that.

It's when non-aroace content is tagged as aroace or aro content that is tagged with ace exclusive tags. If the content is aroallo or non-sam aro or specifically aro non-ace, it's ignoring the content of the post and conflating aromanticism with asexuality. Tagging aro content with only ace tags (not aroace, but specifically tagging asexuality or ace without tagging anything aro related) is once again ignoring the content of the post and conflating aromanticism with asexuality.

I'm not ace, so when I post about aromanticism and others tag it with exclusively ace tags, it bothers me because it's conflating aromanticism with asexuality when the two are not the same. There is a huge issue in queer (and even aspec) spaces where aromanticism and asexuality are seen as one in the same, so to tag content that is non-ace is tagged as ace, it contributes to that issue. Aros should be allowed to have their own spaces and tags and posts without being conflated.

Again, I don't have an issue with aroace tags on general aro content, it's when the post doesn't have to do with asexuality at all is tagged with exclusively asexual tags.

Being aroallo means that you're arospec (don't experience romantic attraction in the "normal" way, or at all) and allosexual (experiences sexual attraction in the "normal" way). Some acespecs might identify as aroallo too depending on their relationship with sexual attraction. Aroallos can have any kind of relationship.
