Recently, while drawing that girl with the daylily, I realized: oh, her story is about to be 10 years old… So I decided to compare the very first and one of the most recent drawings of some of the characters to see what time has done to them.
Tumblr media
The protagonist probably had the biggest design change of all. The character, inspired by the color palette of forget-me-nots and blue hydrangea, eventually shifted to greenish hues. On the one hand, it's sad that the girl lost this zest, on the other hand, this color scheme, as I think, better emphasizes her character. But nothing is as eye-catching as the new hairstyle. The hair now has a specific shape (yay!), the second layer with longer strands is gone. A short haircut is much more practical in her case, and the cowlicks make it feel more spontaneous. As far as I remember, the character was originally intended to be much calmer, more skeptical, and smarter. But over the years she has become a silly, but very sincere, self-sacrificing girl who can find the best in the worst. One thing remains the same: she is still frighteningly naive, thanks to her hyper-patronizing father. In pictures, of course, it's funny to joke about storks and a complete lack of understanding of the concept of romantic relationships, but in reality it's dangerous. Poor kid.
Tumblr media
Speaking of father. After years of searching without success, I finally found the very first sketch of him. I've never been good at stereotypical grown men, which is especially evident in this kid of fifteen. :"D I've gotten better at it with years of practice, but that brightly colored, disheveled hair still causes dissonance. I often think about redesigning it, but then I realize I'm too used to seeing this guy like this. I want to tug on his ahoge… This character used to seem like a bit of a scatterbrained relaxed slob. And then he gradually transformed into a sensitive melancholic who adores anguished literature, who loses and forgets things not just because that's his archetype. He's not just a good dad anymore. He's too good a dad, in a bad way. In short, he's a funny character. It's hard to draw him because of his masculine features, but it's fascinating to dig into his head.
Tumblr media
This character hasn't changed much in appearance. Except that the ahoge on the right became a key element of the hairstyle and ombré appeared. The evolution of her character is a literal embodiment of the proverb "beware of a silent dog and still water". And that's description enough.
Tumblr media
The concept remained, but the details changed so much that the character became very different. They are now in khokhloma, which I congratulate them on. Aside from the jokes, the character is now shorter in stature and has a more muted color palette. I rarely draw them lately (which I regret), but I still try to gracefully cover their groin with any object I can find. Because despite the lack of genitalia, it makes me uncomfortable.
Tumblr media
I didn't really know what I wanted when I drew this character the first time, which is summed up in the first picture by the weird hair. But then I decided to use the good old cliché of appearance clashing with temperament, so I got a kid with stereotypically angelic golden curls and a manipulative, cunning nature with a pinch of cynicism. You know, those anime kids who act like they're at least 40. Due to the lore revision, he's also lost his collar. Now the dog is free, woof.
Tumblr media
Not much of interest here either, other than the fact that I learned how to draw curls better. All the meaningful changes happened on the inside of the character, because I was able to find a heart among the ice that I originally associated the character with. And it fascinated me. This is one of my favorite characters, if not the most.
Tumblr media
Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, Woopsie and Poopsie…. In short, guys who complement each other's characters. Both pictures are primitive in their poses, so the differences are easier to see. The male character's long cloak has become a decorative cape, and the leaf pattern has disappeared (it's all the lore's fault). The female character is almost unchanged. Well, maybe she looks older now because of my experiments with style. Their story is pretty simple, so I didn't think much about them. I think they've only grown more attached to each other over the years. Woopsie and Poopsie, yeah.

Hitsugaya Siblings [Young Heroes AU]
Hiko Hitsugaya
Birth Name: Hiko Hitsugaya
Age: 4 (Canon/Pre Young Heroes timeline), 22
Gender: Male (AMAB)
Race: Multiracial/Mixed
Nationality: Japanese
Ethnicity: Afro-Dutch/Afro-Brazilian/Taiwanese/Japanese
Short Description: Hiko has black hair and brown eyes.
As a child, Hiko had lightly tanned skin and only one beauty mark. His hair was also slightly wavy and a bolt shaped ahoge. At this time, he also wore round glasses.
In the current timeline (Young Heroes), his skin is brown and his hair is curly/coily, now reaching his shoulders. He also wears contacts since they're less of a hassle. A second beauty mark has appeared. Hiko also has a more muscular frame as an adult thanks to the training he's gone through.
Personality: Confident | Charismatic | Snobby at times | Influential | Flirty | Competitive
Quirk: Gilded
Hiko has the ability to control gold lace and gold ink. When he manipulates gold ink, it manifests in the form of illuminated, hollow gold (think of Thena from Eternals). But at the current stage, he has evolved past manipulating gold lace and/or ink and now can manipulate gold itself. With a bit more training he can be able to cover his entire body in gold armor.
Fuyuhito Hitsugaya
Age: 3 (Canon/Pre Young Heroes timeline), 21
Gender: Male (AMAB)
Short Description: Fuyuhito has brown hair and heterochromatic brown and yellow almost gold eyes. He has a beauty mark on his chin.
As a child, Fuyuhito's hair was more spiky and all over than place than it is now yet it was still curly. On the back of his hand is a heart shaped birthmark.
As a college aged man, Fuyuhito has styled his hair into dreadlocks and decorated them with gold cuffs. He also has a few tattoos (but not as much as his father does LOL) much to the slight ire of his mother.
Personality: Nerdy | Socially literate | Bossy | Territorial | Shy around girls outside his family | Tech savvy | Creative
Quirk: Mech
Fuyuhito has the ability to create and turn parts of his body into any form of machinery. To some extent, he can control all forms of metal and can even cover his body in it but prefers machinery since it's easy to work with.
Hiroko Hitsugaya
Age: 1 (Canon timeline), 19 (Young Heroes timeline)
Gender: Female (AFAB)
Short Description: Hiroko is brown skinned with curly brown hair and gold yellow eyes. Much like the rest of her family members, she has two beauty marks.
As a child, Hiroko's hair was wavy as her natural curly texture would come as she got older. Her skin was also a lighter shade of brown.
As a college aged girl, Hiroko has the build of a fashion model. She is often told that she looks like her mother when she was 19 and starting college.
Personality: Stylish | Ambitious | Cunning | Social butterfly | Prideful
Quirk: Monochrome
Much like her father and cousin, Hiroko has the power to create and manipulate ink. However, hers comes in two colors: black and white. Each ink has a different power to it. The black ink allows her to bring anything with ink of matching color to life (similar to Irefumi's Inkimation) while the white ink is shiny and she can make weapons and other objects out of it (similar to how Joou's Midas Touch allows her to make weapons from jewelry).

Halloween Dress Up Fun!
Tumblr media
Author’s Note: STORY TIME!  As an Asian with long black hair who takes showers at night. I have made the mistake of wearing a white night gown, soaking it with my hair because I like air drying my hair. Then scaring myself in the mirror as my hair covered most of my face. All I wanted was a glass of water ;w; I was what I was scared of the most. An Asian horror ghost.
I also couldn’t see how headcanons could work for this request. So, I ended up doing scenarios with a sprinkle of headcanon. I hope you enjoyed the way this flower patch bloomed!
Dorm Leaders REACT!!
Reader Dresses up as Sadako or Kayako ~!
Riddle Rosehearts
Let me paint you a scene ~
The strawberry headed male let out a deep sigh as he looked down at his watch. ‘Being late is unbecoming of a person. What on earth is taking them?’ Riddle thought to himself, clicking his tongue.
A shiver ran down the young male’s back, goosebumps tingling his skin while a cool breeze blanketed him. “Now, now, Riddle. Don’t let your imagination get ahead of you now. That was a simply a horror story from Y/N’s world. No, need to get worked up over fiction now.” He reminded himself, cursing at how run down the Ramshackle dorm was. Riddle knew that ghosts resided in the dorm but why did this feel so different?
“Y/N?” He called out curiously to the sound of creaking floorboards. Slowly a low croak echoed through the air, closely followed by soft thumps. “Hardy, har Y/N. I know it’s you. This is all too cliché. Of course I won’t fall for-” a stone formed in his stomach as a disheveled woman crawled head first down the stairs.
~
- To say that Riddle screamed is down playing his reaction. This boy shrieked with his two ahoges sticking straight up like a Saturday morning cartoon. It was safe to believe that those within earshot thought someone was being murdered.
- After failing to cast ‘Off with your head!’ upon the ‘ghost’. Laughter tickled his ears as his grey eyes met with your familiar gaze. If looks could kill, you would’ve fit your costume perfectly. Luckily for you, a boyish giggle filled your dorm as Riddle offered his hand with a smile.
“I heard that Halloween is the time for tricks. I hope you didn’t fall too behind on your studies to plan all this out. Thank you for the scare,” his smile twitched with  annoyance as you grinned widely at him all the same.
Leona Kingscholar
A knowing smile painted the lion’s lips the second he set foot into Ramshackle; the stale air, the chill breeze blowing the front door behind him. The voicemail that simply hissed “7 days.”
“‘Like a cub learning how to hunt,’ he thought to himself, tail swishing side to side behind him.  Leona couldn’t help but be reminded of Cheka and his attempts to pounce on him.
Making his way to the living room. The brunette already caught a strong whiff of your scent coming from the TV. He raised a brow as he saw water slowly pour out of television all the while you crawled into the scene.
Chuckling, Leona walked up to you unfazed, offering his hand to help you up. “I must say. You really outdone yourself to hollow out a TV and wait there until I arrived. Though,” he pinched the bridge of his nose, frowning. “I would make one change. The makeup you use has a strong chemical scent to it. If people get too close, they’ll find out it’s you right away.”
Mission failed. We’ll get em’ next time.
Azul Ashengrotto
“Y/N?” The silver haired male questioned, humming to himself curiously as no one greeted him at the door. “I hope you don’t mind that I’m letting myself in. You’re the one who called me over. The least you could do is welcome me,” he teased softly entering the dorm.
To his surprise his eyes met a shivering incoherent Grim, cowering under a table.
“She got her! The ghost caught Y/N and-and- She’s gone! My beloved henchman is now gone!” yowled the cat, covering his eyes with his paws.
“Pardon?” The simple question was only answered with more groveling while Grim pointed upstairs. His whines never stopped, even as Azul made his way upstairs.
Upon reaching the final step, a gurgling filled his ears. Azul furrowed his brows, mouth becoming dry as he halfheartedly decided to investigate the noise. Hesitantly, he opened the door to your room grey eyes widening at the still figure that stood in the corner of the room. Then it rushed him.
~
- Azul screamed bloody murder. A dark blush painting his face as your familiar laughter tickled his ears.
- He swears you to secrecy. All the while his heart is trying to thump out of his chest. If the tweels catch wind of this, he’ll never hear the end of it.
- Bad news. They heard rumours of screams coming from Ramshackle around the time he was supposed to visit and the pair put the pieces together quickly. Of course, they only teased him away from curious ears. Azul still has a reputation to uphold after all.
Kalim Al-Asim
“You managed to get a hold of a horror movie from your world? Let’s watch it together! I can get Jamil to-” scarlet eyes gazed at you curiously as you insisted that it should just be the two of you. “Ahh! I see. It would be scarier that way, huh? I’ll be sure to tell Jamil all about it once we're done!”
Later that night you watched ‘The Ring’ with Kalim. The snowed haired male clung to you for most of the film, screaming at jumpscares and then laughing joyously at himself. The dorm leader gazed at you like an abandoned puppy as you said that you were gonna use the washroom.
Surely you wouldn’t leave him all alone after watching such a scary film. He teased softly before waving you off playfully. That’s all it was. A work of fiction made purely for the fun of it, right?
The chime of his phone caused Kalim to jump. Chuckling to himself, he thought it was Jamil checking up on him as he promised to be back in the dorm by now. A shiver ran down his spine as he saw it was an unknown number. ‘Maybe Sadako is calling me! How spooky,’ he joked to himself before picking up the phone with an upbeat “hello ~!”
“Seven Days”
Cue the boy’s phone flying across the room. It’ll be fine. He can afford a new one anyways. If he could survive the week. Kalim jumped to his feet to look for you, only to freeze in place at the sound of something wet hitting the ground.
“Y/N? Very funny but even if it was real, I’m supposed to have seven days. Can’t you give a guy a fighting chance?” He joked, a lump forming in his throat.
“Seven Days..” You hissed before being bombarded with pillows and blankets.
~
- Proud ghost hunter Kalim is proud. He was about to call Jamil about his incredible feet until he heard your familiar voice muffled by all the pillows and blankets.
- Quickly frees you from your cozy prison and questions you thoroughly, making sure you’re the real Y/N. Once you passed his test, laughter fills the room once again as he looks over your costume and makeup.
 - He showers you with praise and even asks if you could try to scare Jamil as well. Tonight was so fun! Of course he wanted to share the experience with the person he grew up with. Jamil hates surprises. Kalim please don’t.
- Expect him to try to scare you throughout the week to get you back. It’s nothing malicious. Just harmless heart attack inducing fun!
Vil Schoenheit
“So, this is your costume, potato?” Vil’s gazed buried deep through your simple once pure white nightgown, examining each stitch and blood splatter. “It wouldn’t be something I choose for myself but I have to say, it isn’t the worst I’ve seen. I can’t wait to see you up yourself next year.”
- Surprisingly supportive.
- If you play your cards right. I do believe you can give him a scare. Though please be prepared for a heavy scolding. Stress isn’t good for the skin after all.
Idia Shorud
“A little girl that can travel through TV screens just because you watched a certain tape? Firstly, she needs to upgrade to downloads. Secondly, the 7 day buffer is such a huge lag spike. Isn’t there a way to make it faster? It does sound convenient though.”
- The origins of your costume interest him more than the costume itself. Can’t really blame him on that since Sadako is technology based. Though he doesn’t appreciate the drowning part. Water and electricity just don’t mix well.
- He’d hesitantly ask you more about her legend/movie and if there’s anything similar. It’s not like there are cursed video games out there, right? You’ve met with a terrible fate haven’t you?
Malleus Draconia
“What a tragic and gruesome tale humans can spin. Do you think you’ll end up the same as her?” A shy smile graces his lips, “I jest. There’s no way I’d let such a thing happen to you.”
- Like Idia he was more interested in the story behind the costume. After all, it’s quite interesting for humans to dress up as a ‘monster’ for a night. Just what counts as one anyways?
- The sight of you covered in blood is more unsettling more than anything. With how dangerous Twisted Wonderland is. Could this possibly be a sight he’d see one day? Shaking away the thought. Malleus simply complimented your costume and contently spent Halloween night by your side.

Mukuro Ikusabsa, the 16th student, hiding somewhere in the school, the one they call the Ultimate despair, watch out for her?

To flex?
Wait I got a monokoin from looking at the targets? Did my eyes pick it up or something
WHY DO THEY KEEP COMING BACK TO THAT
I swear I’ve heard like 4 times and it’s barely been an hour
Volleyball, really?
You’re not. You’re in a murder mystery visual novel
Thanks…?
Dang, a knife!
That was a weird sprite
Me too, Hiro
Genocide??
That would explain why there were only 15 (16?) students
That’s a big difference between won’t and can’t

Reader helps Nagito in his plan to expose the traitor
Came up with this one on my own, just something for you guys to see my style of writing for if you want to request :)
Category: Angst Imagine
Specifics: GN!reader, obviously takes place in chapter 5, reader is Ultimate Actor
Warnings: Gore, swearing
I legit finished this but forgot to save and had to rewrite it all over again-
Tumblr media
Nagito had told his lie of planning on blowing the island up. You, of course, saw through his bullshit, there was no way he had more than one bomb from the Ocagon. And he had just used it. So when you had stopped him walking away from the restaurant and confronted him, he let himself take his chances.
The boy had decided to confide in you after a minimal amount of convincing. There was no use in lying to you, especially when his time to execute his plan was limited. He told you what he knew. Absolutely all of it.
He told you how you were all Remnants of Despair, the 78th class’ killing game, Hajime’s “identity crisis”, about Junko Enoshima, everything. He even shared the fact that you had your left eye replaced with Junko’s while some other classmates, including himself, had other body parts.
While his claims were unbelievable at first, you could tell he wasn’t lying. He took you to his cottage and showed you the book he had received in the Octagon and he got some sort of poison. It was insane, yet it explained so much: Mikan’s behavior, Hajime being talentless, the swirls in Nagito’s and Mikan’s eyes when they got despaired, and so much more.
However, with this explanation, you had also gotten a hope/despair rant of how you all deserved to die for being Remnants. And for the first time, you actually agreed with his ideas. This part seemed to shock him slightly before he chuckled and explained what had to happen.
Whilst everyone else was on a wild goose chase for the bombs, the two of you got to work. You were told of the traps he already set up the night prior. He had you tie a spear above him, tie his legs and arm, and finally, made sure no one could hear him through the duct tape. You weren’t completely aware of why he needed that last point, but you guessed you would find out soon.
When leaving the warehouse to “meet up” with the others, his last words before you left had sent chills down your spine;
“Just make sure no one can hear me screaming, Y/n..”
——————
You had finally met up with your classmates just after they left the plushie factory where Nagito set his video message. You discreetly led them to the warehouse, using your talent as a shield of sorts. The domino fire trap had been set off, then they found the grenades in the break room, all according to plan. You made sure to stay back and not throw any of the grenades in case you screwed it up and took the poisoned one.
Once the fire died down, you had entered the next phase of this plan, the part you had to complete alone. You carefully led the group to Nagito’s body, not having to act as the shock of his self-mutilation took over you. Quickly shaking the nerves off best you could, you focused on the rest of the plan. Before you knew it, everyone was in the trial grounds being led by your lies.
That is, until a certain protagonist decides to call you out.
“Y/n, you don’t usually speak up so much during trials,” the boy gulped a bit and suspiciously looked to you. “Especially since you weren’t there until after we found the video.”
“I just want to help as much as possible,” you bit the inside of your lip nervously, “and like I said, I was in my cottage the whole time to avoid being blown up.”
“Then how did you know to lead us outside of the warehouse?”
Shit, shit, shit...
“I-I..” You had to think fast. So you did the only thing you could think of. Besides, all they had to do was vote incorrectly, right?
Lowering your gaze, you let your voice take on a dark tone, forcing a visible smile to tug at your lips.
“Because I killled Nagito.”
The room went dead silent for a moment. It was almost amusing. But you had to finish this plan out.
“I think we can start the votes now Monokuma, I killed Nagito-”
“No that’s wrong!”
Hajime’s voice rang out like an annoying alarm. You looked towards him and raised a brow for an explanation.
“Y/n, I don’t think you killed Nagito. I think you’re covering for something.” Hajime was getting closer to the truth, but thankfully your classmates were short tempered at this.
“What the fuck do you mean?! They already confessed!”
“Buddy, they already said they did it!”
“Hajime, they have just confessed their crime!”
“I don’t get the fuss, just start the voting!”
Their voices tangled together, most ready to start the vote. Unfortunately for you, Hajime apparently had backup.
“Y/n, if you did kill Nagito,” Chiaki’s voice had silenced the others, “then please give an explanation of what exactly you did.” You felt your chest tighten but remained calm on the outside.
Taking a breath in, you relaxed and focused on using your talent to complete your mission.
“When Nagito told us he’d blow up the whole island, I could tell he was lying, so I went to confront him. I knew there was no way he’d get a bomb large enough to take out the whole island. At least, not without any of us knowing beforehand. Plus he already used a bomb, and there was no way he had a second.”
You stated with a truth as you always did before delving into your lies, carefully weaving the two together. You were ready for this rebuttal battle.
“He refused to tell me anything, so I dragged him to the warehouse and tied him up. There, I tortured him to tell me the truth. When that didn’t work, I threatened a painful death.”
The thoughts of having to commit the actions you were describing caused you to pause for just a moment before continuing your faulty explanation.
“He began to mock me, saying I wouldn’t do such a thing. I decided to prove him wrong. I stole the key to his cottage off him and forced him to hold the spear above him. To keep him from screaming for help, I covered his mouth in tape.”
You felt yourself grip your trial stand just a bit tighter.
“I took the poison from his room and placed it in a granade for later. From there, I had set up the rest of the traps like Hajime said. All I had to do then was lead you all along and throw the grenade with the poison into the room-”
“I’ll cut through those words!”
Ignoring the odd word choice Hajime had been using in every trial, you turned to him, annoyed and nervous.
“Y/n, you’re the only one who didn’t throw a grenade,” the ahoged boy pointed out.
“Hey wait a sec- Hajime’s right!” Kazuichi joined in, “You were standing behind us the whole time!”
“So why the fuck are you lying to us?!” Fuyuhiko swore.
“They’re acting a bit like Nagito in the first trial..” Sonia was quiet but you still heard her.
“Do you know who the culprit is or not?!” Akane shouted from across from you.
Now you knew you were in deep shit. If you couldn’t keep the culprit’s identity safe, you would’ve failed. You would’ve failed to keep the world safe from the remaining Remnants.
After a few moments, you had your next course of action planned out. You lifted your head once more and smiled sickingly sweet. You were going to follow what Sonia had said.
You were going to play Nagito.
“Heheh..” Keeping the same dark but nonchalant tone as he always did, you continued, “Yes and no, Akane..”
“What do you mean, Y/n?” The plain boy seemed confused as ever.
“Well you’re the smart one Hajime, so I’ll give you one hint that should pull this together for you..”
The group had gone silent once again, awaiting your words.
“He used our talents to find a certain someone.”
Your head tilted to the side in false glee. Hajime had gone into his own mind for a minute, processing your claim. Once he figured what you meant by that statement, he turned to the group in shock.
“You’re telling us, that Nagito set this up?” He almost looked scared to say such a thing.
“Indeed I am,” You gave a crazed look, “I’m sure you know who the culprit is now, Hajime, don’t you?” The boy gulped once more.
“It’s the traitor.” Hajime looked down, “He was trying to kill the traitor.” At that, you erupted into Nagito’s signature laugh.
“Not quite, Dating-Sim-Protag.” You let out one more chuckle at your teasing. “It wasn’t the traitor he wanted to kill. It was everyone but the traitor!”
You continued your cackle. Having to laugh in his way made you feel guilty for your actions and words. You were hurting everyone. But what had to be done had to be done.
“They’re messing with us like Nagito did!” Kazuichi seemed more freaked out than everyone, as per usual. “Just tell us who the traitor is!”
“Not so fast, Kazuichi,” Chiaki once again calmed down the commotion, “I think Y/n isn’t lying. Nagito wanted the traitor to kill him and be the blackened, right?”
“Y/n,” Hajime kept his gaze towards the floor, “did you really know where the poison was?”
“In the grenades? Yes.” You felt this as your chance to come clean, convinced they couldn’t find the traitor. “Which one, however? I had no clue.”
“Then how would the traitor have known which one it was in?” Sonia was so close to getting it, but Hajime sealed their deal.
“They didn’t, Nagito used his luck.”
“Correct.” You decided to drop the Nagito facade, deeming it unnecessary now. Your face instead fell solemn.
“Why the hell did you help him, Y/n?!” Fuyuhiko’s voice called out.
“I’m sorry, I really am,” You let yourself speak the truth, “but it was what had to happen for the world to be safe. Safe from-”
“Ah, ah, ahhhh!!” Monokuma jumped in, “We wouldn’t want spoilers, now would we!”
You grit your teeth, feeling even more horrible that you couldn’t explain your actions. Although there would be no need to once the vote had started.
“Just..” Your voice fell weak, “..know all but one of us deserve painful deaths. And we’re about to get those as I assume the traitor wouldn’t reveal themselves.”
The room was completely silent. Even Monomi kept her usual whimpering to herself. Monokuma probably would’ve jumped up again if it weren’t for said traitor speaking up.
“I killed him.”
Chiaki’s voice made your head snap up. She must be lying right? No, there’s no way she’d help you and Nagito.. right?
“Chiaki what are you talking about?” Your voice trembled, knowing you won’t know if she’s helping you or everyone else until after the vote.
“I’m the traitor.” She smiled sadly, “Hajime, you want to do your usual run down of the case?”
Hajime’s face was in complete shock along with the rest of us. He quickly shook himself out and nodded. You could tell he didn’t want to vote on his (what you assumed to be) girlfriend. Nevertheless, he gave the story of it all.
“Here’s everything that happened: The person who actually arranged this incident was... the victim, Nagito Komeada. He kept a specific item inside his cottage that he needed for his plan. Monokuma's Special Poison, which he brought with him from the Octagon.
“Using the gloves and gas mask that he got from he military base... Nagito swapped the contents of a fire grenade he took from the Plushie Factory break room with that poison. When he did that, a specific item was left as evidence: the blue aluminum seal on the grenade.
“With that, Nagito finished making the poisoned fire grenade, took it with him to the factory... and put it back with the rest of the grenades in the break room.
“The next morning, Nagito appeared before us and declared that he hid a bomb somewhere... However, one of us wasn’t fooled. That person was Y/n L/n. Through some sort of convincing, Nagito had told them his plan and the two of them got to work.
“While we were looking for the bomb, that's when Nagito and Y/n headed over to the goods warehouse. In order to set up a fire, the two arranged the Monokuma panels in a line going from the door... to the curtain, and placed an oil lighter in front of it. From there, Nagito set his insane plan in motion.
“First, he hung the spear that he took from Nezumi Castle from the ceiling girder by its cord... then he had Y/n tie his arms and legs at the back of the warehouse with rope. However, they burnt off the rope on his right arm beforehand.
“In doing so, they made sure that only his right hand was free while his remaining arm and legs were tied up... As he gripped the tip of the rope hanging over the ceiling girder with his left hand... He laid down face-up, just beneath the dangling spear.
“But this was just the beginning of Nagito's plan, and then...he did something no one could've predicted. First, he covered his mouth with duct tape, and after making sure he was unable to scream... He made Y/n leave and stabbed himself with the knife multiple times in his left arm and in both of his thighs.
“Finally... He propped the knife on the plushie, and slammed his right hand onto the blade! He didn't just want us to think he was tied up, he also wanted us to think he's been tortured... Through all this, Nagito never let go of the spear. His plan still wasn't over...In fact, it was just about to begin.
“Meanwhile, we finally arrived at the plushie factory and found Nagito's message... After seeing his message, we instantly made our way to the warehouse, Y/n leading us there even though they had shown up after we left... But that was part of Nagito's plan. We opened the door to the warehouse, which inadvertently started the Monokuma panel domino effect...
“The panels fell, one after another, until they reached the lighter, tipped it over, and ignited the curtain. Shocked by the sudden fire, we rushed to the factory's break room to obtain some fire extinguishing grenades.
“We then aimed for the fire's origin point, which was the curtain, and unloaded the entire supply. It never occurred to us that one of those grenades was the poisoned grenade that Nagito had prepared... But because Y/n knew it was there, they made a crucial mistake in Nagito’s plan and their later lies... they didn’t throw a grenade.
“The poison sank to the floor, instantly vaporizing due to the intense heat, and spread everywhere... The poison gas quickly drifted to the curtain at the back of the warehouse, where Nagito was. Also, Monokuma's poison has a unique quality in which it becomes heavier than air when vaporized. That poison gas completely surrounded the area where Nagito lay face-up on the floor.
“There, Nagito inhaled the poison, and if it didn't instantly kill him, he certainly lost consciousness... Which caused him to let go of the rope in his left hand, and the falling spear plunged into his stomach.
“But even then, his plan wasn’t completely over as his accomplice, Y/n, had to lie in order to voting wrong. Unfortunately for Y/n, the traitor did something they couldn’t expect... the traitor revealed themself.
“This is all the information related to Nagito's plan. His true intention was to set one of us up as the killer... At the time, we didn’t know who the killer was... Because the killer wasn't aware they killed someone. Try as we might, if the traitor hadn’t revealed herself as Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer, we could not reach that truth... That was Nagito's trap.”
You could feel yourself shake as the rest of the trial went on. You didn’t trust your voice to not get all shaky if you attempted to speak. Instead, you simply listened as arguments were made on Chiaki really being the traitor. As well as the insults occasionally thrown your way.
Soon, though, the guilt of failing Nagito and the world settled in as Monokuma declared that Chiaki was indeed the traitor, and possibly worse, correctly voted as the blackened.
———————
As soon as Chiaki’s execution had ended, you made your way out of the trail room and to your own cottage. You didn’t want to end up tied in the warehouse like they did with Nagito in the restaurant so many weeks ago. So when there was knocking at your door, you didn’t answer it.
The knocking continued, but you stayed in your curled up position on the bed. When the knocking finally ended, you sighed in relief, that is, until you heard Hajime’s voice.
“Y/n.. please come out and eat.. you haven’t had anything since this morning..”
That certainly wasn’t what you had expected to hear. You expected scolding, anger, anything other than concern. Hearing a sigh from outside the door, you decided to slip out for just a moment.
When you did open the door, you saw Hajime as he was about to turn and leave. His form seemed stressed, like he’d definitely been crying.
“You aren’t gonna tie me up, are you?” You tried to joke, but your voice was hoarse, your own crying to blame. Even so, Hajime let out a tired chuckle.
“No, I did have to stop Kazuichi and Akane from trying though..” He scratched the back of his neck. A small, breathy laugh of your own forcing it’s way out of you.
“Why aren’t you siding with them?” You looked downward towards your shoes. “I mean I did quite literally act as Nagito and try to get us all killed..” At that, you felt a hand on your shoulder, forcing your gaze back to Hajime.
“If your reason behind doing that was good enough for Monokuma to stop you from revealing it, I think it’s justified.” He gave a weak, but reassuring smile, “The others agreed with me once I pointed that out.”
“Let me guess,” you attempted to lighten the mood once more, “Sonia agreed with you so Kazuichi just magically changed his mind and Akane was forced to join?” The two of you shared a small laugh as he pulled his hand away and to his side. There was a short, awkward silence that followed before Hajime spoke again.
“Just.. please help us figure out what’s going on. With the information you now have, you may not be able to directly tell us, but you can help so much more.”
You felt yourself nod, slightly ashamed. “In that case, there’s something I need to show you and the others. I can go get it-”
“Let’s wait till you get something to eat, okay?”
Hajime, no, everyone was really willing to give you a second chance after you essentially killed two classmates? You couldn’t believe it. But it was the truth. A small smile made it’s way to your mouth and you nodded once more, this time more assured. This made Hajime smile in return.
“Now how about we go eat something before Akane gets to it all, Y/n?”

Kamunaegi or matsuda x Kamukura? :)
I know nothing about Matsuda sdfkKSDJFSD so kamunaegi it is! Didn’t even know this ship was a thing so I apologize in advance lol also 10 sentences more like 10 short paragraphs but whatever
Angst
“You don’t have to keep pretending you don’t feel anything you know. You can cry, if you want.” Makoto gently whispered so only he would be able to hear it. Kamukura shook his head in response, pretending he wasn’t shaken by the horrors of the Tragedy he was witnessing. Hajime Hinata’s feelings were truly inconvenient.
AU (Mastermind!Makoto AU)
“I care a lot about my classmates!” The shorter boy pouted innocently. “That’s why I must do this killing game! To help them unite against everything that’s going on in the outside world! You get it, don’t you, Kamukura?”
“… Interesting.” Was all he replied, Makoto Naegi had definitely caught his attention now.
Crack
”Wait wait let me get this straight.” Junko puts a hand on her hip and points at Makoto with the other. “YOU’RE the Ultimate Hope.” Now she points to Kamukura. “And YOU’RE the Ultimate Hope!? Are there any other Ultimate Hopes I should be aware of!?”
“Hi.” A strange robot with an ahoge appeared behind her.
“Oh for FUCK’S SAKE!”
Future
Makoto watched the boat approach and it was like his legs automatically started sprinting towards the harbor. With tears in his eyes, he frantically searched along the ship’s deck, hoping to get a glimpse of the long-haired man he’d been forced to leave on the island. “You’re back…” He mumbled to himself as he saw a man in a black suit waving at him.
First time
“This is Makoto Naegi from the Future Foundation. I-It’ll be better if you don’t resist and come with us, we already have the rest of your comra-”
“Makoto Naegi. The Ultimate Hope.” The cold stare of the taller man sent shivers up Makoto’s spine.
“Y-Yes, that’s me. So if you please could-” Kamukura didn’t give him a chance to finish, capturing the boy’s lips with his own.
“You might not be so boring. I’ll come with you.”
Fluff
“Mmmh.” Makoto hummed happily, lovingly tracing his fingers all over Kamukura’s face, memorizing every trait of it. “Your eyes are gorgeous.” He whispered, earning himself a light blush from the Ultimate Everything himself. Grinning, he brought his face closer to him and gave him a sweet kiss.
Humor
“Please, Kamukura! Don’t cut your hair again! You’re so gorgeous with your long hair!”
“Makoto, I am the Ultimate Lie Detector, tell me the real reason.”
“……”
“Makoto…”
“FINE! EVERYONE WILL START CONFUSING US AGAIN IF YOU CUT IT! I CAN’T GO BACK TO BEING CALLED THE SHORTER HAJIME! NOT AGAIN!”
Hurt/Comfort
Makoto’s sobs had meant to be quiet, no one was supposed to be able to hear him. But of course, leave it to Kamukura to come by the room in the worst possible moment as he was hunched over one of the Neo World Program’s pods, crying his eyes out.
“They’ll wake up.” was all he said as he draped an arm over his shoulders, and Makoto just cried harder.
Smut
This was bad news. They were almost to Jabberwock Island, someone could go check on the Remnants any second and notice one of them was gone, or come tell him something important to his office. Regardless, Makoto shouldn’t be bent over his desk with one of the Remnants of Despair thrusting into him and biting his shoulder as he desperately cried out Kamukura’s name.
Unresolved sexual tension
“Sorry about the handcuffs, the Future Foundation insists you wear them at least until we reach the ship.” Makoto nervously tried to explain as he locked the handcuffs in place behind Kamukura’s back.
“Hmph, I don’t mind. Besides, someone like you being into this kind of thing is… interesting.” Makoto’s face turned a bright red at being completely outed by the taller man. If he had been able to see it, he would’ve noticed a tiny smirk forming on Kamukura’s face.

The Red String of Fate
The Red String of Fate links two soulmates together signifying that they are made for each other. This certain string can appear when you are born or when you and your soulmate finally meet. Though this string can be broken, whether because of arguments, long distance, any of the two meeting someone else they like, taking the two too long to meet, or when intentionally cut. If the string was accidentally cut, it would come back. But the string can be fixed if and only if one of the soulmates has enough energy or power to revive it.
warning: curse words, boy x boy
pairing: IwaOi ( Iwaizumi x Oikawa )
anime: Haikyuu!!
this is my first fanfic so I apologize for any grammar errors. it may also seem rushed and might not be pleasant to read and I also apologize for that. even if english is my second language, my vocab isn't as good as other writers
- - s n a p - - . . . . . . . . . . . . . . !!
That sound. The sound that sounds so painful yet so relieving. The sound that I can't decide whether if I like it or not. The sound that just might decide things for me. The sound that would me you feel ill and 'empty'. I t h u r t s b a d l y .
Bzzzt! Bzzzt! Bzzzt!
Crap. What time is it?
"Hajime! Are you awake yet? Get ready for school already. At this rate you'll be late for the first period. Tooru's waiting for you outside."
Oh. Shit. I overslept again. And how the fuck is that Shittykawa waiting for me? Most of the time he's the one who's late. Too late for that then.
I quickly got dressed and went downstairs. I didn't even bother eating breakfast. I dashed out of the door just to be greeted by Oikawa.
"Why isn't this a surprise, Iwa-chan! For the first time I'm the one waiting for you."
"Haha very funny Crappykawa"
"Can't you call me anything else other than Crappykawa?"
"So which do you prefer? Shittykawa or Trashykawa?"
"E-eh?? I'd go for Crappykawa then!" Oikawa pouted afterwards.
We both rushed to school and barely made it just in time. Teacher got mad at us though for arriving last minute.
Oikawa Tooru. He's been my best friend for as long as I can remember, although to this day I'm still wondering why I even agreed to being with him. It was more like a forced friendship because we were the only kids in the neighborhood of the same age. He's also the reason I got into volleyball. Well, sort of. He kinda forced me into learning how to play just so someone can spike his tosses. Actually, eversince he came, something's been going on with my life differently.
10 years ago, there was this family that has just moved in into our neighborhood. I was 7 or 8 at the time. Mom called me to come downstairs to greet the new people. When we opened the door, it revealed a tall woman with shoulder length brown hair with dark brown eyes. Beside her was a kid a few centimeters taller than me with brown hair and an ahoge, and seemed to he right at my age. After our greetings, mom invited them inside and in just a few seconds, this random kid was in my room.
"Uh... Tooru, do you want to do or play anything?"
He didn't answer, but he did go out and returned with a volleyball in his hands. He tugged my shoulder sleeve and took me outside. And then I just found myself playing with a kid I just met, although I didn't know how, but he did teach me.
When the sun came down, they said that they were going home.
"Bye Iwa-chan! See you tomorrow"
"Bye Tooru."
Just as he said, the next day we found ourselves playing with each other again. This has been going on for awhile now.
On a normal day, I woke up with a red string tied unto my pinky.
"W-why i-is there a r-red string tied unto m-me??" In panic, I fell down my bed. I debated in my head on whether mom should know about this or not, and came to the conclusion that I would tell her if she noticed. While eating breakfast, even if I tried giving her hints and putting my hand in the most open and obvious spot, she didn't seem to notice at all. Was this just my imagination? Maybe it doesn't actually exist.
I tried my best to just ignore it and just enjoy the rest of the day (Even if having this stupid red string tied unto me. And the fact that it's even going through the walls! Holy crap that's frikin weird.)
I stepped outside to play with Tooru again. Maybe if mom couldn't see it, maybe he can't too. Or should I confirm it with him and ask? Is this string even real? Is it even solid? Why does it look like it's just floating through air? Why is it-
"Iwa-chan! Do you want to play again?"
Why. Why is the damn string attached to him, to the same finger as mine. Why is it connecting the two of us. Should I just ignore it?
"Yeah sure"
I guess I decided to ignore it.
Ever since this string appeared, we seemed closer than usual. There are even times that I forgot it existed. Every time I woke up, it would just be there. It looks like it doesn't have a specific or permanent length, in fact whenever me and Tooru separate, it just extends.
So I decided that I'd cut it. I mean.. what's the harm?
- - s n i p - - . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ! !
"*cough* *c-cough*...!!! I-I c-can't b-breathe...!! M-mom! H-help m-me..!!"
.
.
.
.
.
Bzzzt Bzzzt Bzzzt!!!
H-huh? Why am I on the floor? Did I fall asleep here? I don't remember much from last night... What happened??
I took a glance at my hand. Oh. It's gone.
Honestly though. I don't know if I feel relieved or... something else. My chest feels heavy, actually. Maybe if I go out and play with Tooru I'd feel better-
"Sorry. Tooru's not feeling well today. Just this morning when he woke up, he was sobbing and refused to tell me the reason. I'm sorry Hajime-kun. Maybe tomorrow."
What. Why? Does this have something to do with the string? Ah, don't be stupid Hajime, he probably felt ill. That's all.
I hope so.
When that string appeared, it reminded me of my friendship with Tooru. When we finally started playing as actual friends, that string appeared. It almost felt like a reminder or sign of our connection. Geez Hajime, when did you become so cheesy. Haha yeah I know. And when I cut that string, it felt like I cut my ties with him or in other words, broke away.
That's probably just my imagination though. I really have to stop overthinking things. Despite my arrogance and cold attitude, I do sometimes think about this thoroughly, even if it sounds cheesy and cliche.
.
.
.
"Hey Iwa-chan. Sorry I haven't gotten to play with you for a week. I know it was sudden, but I actually got a high fever, although before that I didn't even feel ill. But I'm okay now! We can finally play agai-! ... Iwa-chan?"
Oh. I didn't even notice that he was talking to me, or even that he was ok now. Eversince he got sick, I've been spacing out more frequently and felt really lonely.
"Ah. Sorry 'bout that Tooru. I'm fine. Are you sure you're not ill anymore? If not, sure let's play some volleyball."
We did. When he got better, even I felt better.
And just when I thought things were finally going to go smoothly...
Ah. It appeared again. The stupid red string. And without a doubt it's tied unto Tooru too. Sigh. What am I gonna do about this...
.
.
.
.
.
"Toor- I mean Oikawa. Can you set to me some of your tosses? I want to practice spiking."
From the benches, I could hear Matsukawa and Hanamaki snickering about how I almost called Shittykawa by his first name.
...
Up to this day this string is still tied unto our hands, mine and Oikawa's. Up until now, I've been constantly cutting that string, but it's not like I cut it because we had arguments or misunderstandings, it's just really... uncomfortable. And the fact that only we can see it, or perhaps, only I can. Oikawa's been spending more time in my house nowadays. We've been getting closer during these years of growing up together. Still, I wonder what this string means. Every time I cut it, after me and Oikawa hangout again, it just comes back. Freaky honestly.
.
.
"Alright everyone!! Practice is over! Go home already, it's getting late. Don't forget that next week we have a practice match, ok?"
We all separate ways, and me and Oikawa walk home together.
"Goodnight Iwa-chan. See you tomorrow."
"Yeah. See you too."
. . .
Huhhhhhhhhhh. Oikawa just texted me.
"Hey Iwa-chan, some fangirl asked me to go out with her. You think I should??" Sent 8:52 PM
Huh...? Why did he ask me? And why do I feel like I got rejected...? Seriously, whenever he gets requests or confessions he always asks me first. It's not like I control him.. But honestly a part of me wants him to not go..
I wonder why...
"Idk. Do u even like her?" Sent 8:54 PM
"Mmm. Not rlly...." Sent 8:54 PM
"Then don't. Bye." Sent 8:55 PM
"Eh? Are you mad? Iwa-chan???" Sent 8:55 PM
"Iwa-chan??"
"IwA-cHan??"
I ignored him. He should just do what he wants.
.
.
.
Fuckkk. Why alarm clock's been ringing for 20 minutes already. It's past 7 AM already. First period starts at 7. Why am I still here..? Is it because I didn't want to see Oikawa hangout with that girl? Haha don't be silly Hajime. I just didn't feel like going.
.
.
.
Hmmm..? It's 5PM already? Fuck how long have I been here? Was I just staring into nothing. I'm hungry. I went down and ate. Then went back to my room.
I stopped. The scissors. The scissors I use to cut the string.. should I?
I grabbed the scissors then-
.
.
"IWA-CHAN!!! WHY didn't you go to school today??? Are you ill? I brought you your homewo-"
I stopped. When did he get here? Did my mom literally just let him in without letting me know? Well, this is just fucking awkward. I'm standing, a bit bent down, holding a pair of scissors against this red string that I don't know if he could see. Up 'till now, I don't know if he could see the string, nd I've been carelessly cutting it.
He dropped everything.
"I-iwa-c-chan... w-why...?? So you've b-been cutting t-he string? It was y-you?..."
Oikawa started sobbing and dropped to the floor. I dropped the scissors, causing a loud thud on the floor, and rushed to him.
"What do you mean? You could see it this entire time? Why didn't you tell me?
"Why have you been CUTTING IT?"
Fuck. I've never heard Oikawa raise his voice. Ever. His voice overlapped his sobs.
"Do y-you not want to be with me? I rejected the girl b-because..."
His voice softened. It got softer right after he shouted.
"W-what? What do you mean? Of course I-I d-do.."
I looked away, hiding my embarrassment.
"Then why have you been cutting it?"
I didn't even notice that we've been on the floor this entire time. His face I held on my chest, my shirt's wet from his tears. After his question, I was dead silent. It's true. Why did I cut the string?
"Iwa-chan, do you not even know what the string means?"
Oikawa muttered softly, his voice being overlapped by the broken sobs echoing in the room.
"Ah... No."
Right after I answered, Oikawa's hands gripped the back part of my shirt tighter. His sobbing got quieter, his face still buried on my chest.
"Iwa... It meant that we were soulmates. The red string signifies that we were meant to stay together, to be there for each other. Eversince I moved into this neighborhood, I had a strong feeling when I first saw you. And I was right. The string appeared after we settled with eachother."
"I... I didn't know that..... Tooru im-!"
"I like you Hajime... I always have... but honestly I never thought about how I could tell you... I was scared that you'd reject me and find it weird that a guy likes a guy..."
He looked down, gripping tighter unto my back.
How could I have been so stupid. I've been cutting that string without a reason, and worst, I never even told him. If I had told him sooner, maybe I could've at least prevented hurting him...
"Hajime...I like you... I love you..."
"Tooru I-"
He gripped my shirt tighther, burying his face deeper unto my chest. He breathed softly, and I could hear his heart beats thumping fast.
"Hajime..."
Oikawa jolted as i wrapped one arm around him and pulled his body closer to mine.
I'm sure he got my answer.
.
.
.
.
.
"EH?? Are you serious, Iwaizumi-san???!!!"
"IWAIZUMI SENPAIIII!!!"
"Why tho"
I held Shittykawa's hand tighter.
"Haha... yeah. We are."
A
Im sososososo sorry this looks sooo bad. I tried to make it as good as I can and literally failed lmao. If you have request, u can ask away <3333

1, 3, 4, 8, 17, and 19. Sorry for so many numbers 😅 I'm just curious about your OC. I love her!!
What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story? Ahhhh, thank you!!! I’m so glad you love Evelyn! She’s very sweet and a very cathartic character for me to write!
1 What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
So for every single character I’ve made for Ghost (I’ve not made OCs outside of Ghost really) is that I made them in a character creator.
I do remember with Evelyn, though, one of the first things I got in my head was her hair color and her hair style. Both of which are super hard to make in creators.
I didn’t get close to her hair style until this one:
Tumblr media
And even there, the color isn’t right for her hair or her eyes.
I didn’t get her exactly right in a creator until about a month later with this one.
Tumblr media
But I gave her an ahoge for some reason idk why I did that???
Also I constantly use character creators because I can’t draw worth a shit.
3. How Did You Choose Their Name?
I’ve always loved the name Evelyn ever since Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley did their weird Evelyn Evelyn act. I’ve wanted to use the name for something for a while, so I jumped on it.
Her middle name, Mae, was my best friend’s middle name growing up. And Aliston I got from rapid fire clicking through a random name generator until one jumped out at me.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
Hmm... So I just really like the idea of intimacy without contact as a narrative piece, so that’s where Evelyn’s phobia comes from. The rest of her backstory is pretty much all me, so I’ll answer that in the next question.
Tbh, nothing Ghost related influenced her backstory.
Except Tibby. He was a plot device from day one and I love him.
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
Hooooooooooo buddy this is a loaded question.
So I boil Evelyn’s character down to me in 2017-2018. I was stubbornly resisting treatment for my depression and anxiety and ignoring the very emotionally abusive parts of the relationship I was in.
(The bullshit with that relationship just barely stopped in June of this year but that’s another story for another time)
She also is me in how she handles anxieties/depressive phases. Really the only difference is that she lashes out in anger. I instantly cry when I get angry, so she’s better at standing up for herself than I am.
TLDR: Evelyn is a retroactive self insert that helps me process some of the Real Bad Stuff I’ve experienced.
17. Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
Hmmm... Evelyn has really just gone off on her own thing and I haven’t been upset about it. There are some bits in the story that I would do differently if I did them now, but my writing style has warped a little since I first started publishing Fear of Touch, so I think that’s understandable.
It’s also hard for me to answer this because if I sit down and read my stuff I start getting nitpicky and just make myself upset, so I try to not look back at it unless I absolutely have to.
19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?
Oh geez uh... The fact that she has a fuckton of mugs?
I only touched on this for a second in maybe one or two chapters but all of the cups she has are mugs and they’re all varying degrees of gaudy and stupid.
Like those weird mugs you find scattered around thrift stores.
Oh man that was a lot, but it’s from a list of OC questions that can be found  here.

One last time
Tumblr media
HE’S BACK -
Fair warning - lots of text below. Like. Lots.
... But first, just before he came to meet with us again -
Tumblr media
So all of his classmates in turn talk about how relieve they are that they can work together without suspecting each other, but something about the way she says it rings............ false. But then again, that might be my own bias colouring things. She outright states it in a way that the others don’t, idk. 8′D
Shuichi, though... he’s realized. Maybe not with an exact name, but he knows that isn’t true. He literally can’t bring himself to pretend that it’s true at all.
Tumblr media
Oh Himiko...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5 survivors.... or maybe 4, depending on how the mastermind goes out. That’s definitely a new, sad record. :(
Tumblr media
I CAN NAME A REASON -
Tumblr media
Look who’s back with a brand new ahoge! It’s got that new-hair smell and everything -
Tumblr media
H-He was never going to outright attack any of us though, right??? Even if he was willing to let us become collateral damage (which admittedly is super Not Great either, but -). That’s a really morbid thought Shuichi - where did it come from?
And of course, now that his hairpiece is back, he’s gone back to his more deferential, timid self.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I’m telling you, that ahoge was 95% of my impulse control! Literally!”
Tumblr media
But the fact that he’s apologizing now, when he was completely unapologetic before... that has to be that inner voice directing him now, right? But I wonder if it influences his ‘emotions’ (or whatever the equivalent would be for him) as well. Is the voice literally telling him to apologize or does he just ‘feel the urge’ to apologize?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it is back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Has it always been that tall???
Tumblr media
Maybe if Miu and Kokichi had let him talk before Korekiyo’s trial, we could have followed up on this!!
Honestly though, I’m curious about this too. Is it a literal voice that tells him what to do? Does it appear as a suggestion to him? It sounds like it isn’t ordering him around but more ‘offering suggestions’... something that wouldn’t come across as obtrusive, but welcoming. Something that wouldn’t raise any alarm bells in him. Or maybe he was programmed to accept that just the way things were supposed to be.
.......... Actually the fact that it came up around Korekiyo’s trial, someone else who was revealed to be doing things based on a voice of sorts in his head, is a very strange coincidence? That... may or may not bode well for K1-b0. Is he going to be a foil to Korekiyo, or a parallel?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The inner voice may be good after all if it helped him realize this. 8′D
Wait, they said there was an accident when he was first created, right? And he reset? This had to have been a fail-safe because something similar to this happened...
Tumblr media
As much as I want to comment on the fact that he’s said he can’t cry and he literally is sweating and his ‘eyes’ are ready to overflow, but fffff every single time I see this sprite my heart clenches and I kind of want to hug him. >3>
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We’ve officially got everyone on the same side now! ......... well okay there’s technically one specific exception but on the surface we’re all good!
Tumblr media
Look at Maki getting better at shedding her tsundere side! She’s getting better at being outright kind and welcoming to people, yay ~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh my god
Tumblr media
This is so..... blatant.... especially with Maki literally saying K1-b0 created this opportunity and Monokuma throwing her under the bus to have another trial. She.... she’s mad at him, isn’t she? And Monokuma too?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh man anyone who doesn’t realize at this point probably thinks it’s one of her anime-reference non-sequiters! But it’s not! It’s definitely a distraction! And she’s totally established herself as someone whose head is in the clouds so she she says random things like this, no one blinks an eye! What other comments has she covered like this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ARE YOU THOUGH.............
Anyway, it’s time for the trial now so -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah that’s true - we haven’t actually resolved this clue yet, have we?
Tumblr media
I thought your eyesight wasn’t good? But okay, why not! Have a go at it, K1-b0!
Okay before plot progression though, fluff text time -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
................................
WHELP THIS IS A HELL OF A FLUFF TEXT
I have so many things to say about this despite the fact that I’ve definitely talked about it before, because I actually relate to the idea of feeling like a different person in cosplay - of, well, letting yourself become the role. And I’ve definitely said that the theme of ‘becoming the role’ is a huge secondary theme of the game, just under ‘truth vs lies’, which is actually why I originally had Tsumugi as my potential mastermind back in Chapter 3. It’s telling that she’s comparing K1-b0 and his ‘personality enhancement’ with her own cosplay though - she’s often said that she only finds herself interesting when she isn’t being herself, so maybe it applies here too. Is this her way of enhancing her own self? Of becoming what she thinks is a ‘better’ self, a more interesting and charismatic person?
With that reveal of ‘Junko’ at the end of the last trial and Tsumugi often comparing cosplay to ‘bringing someone to life’, ‘channeling’ and ‘and being a vessel for the gods’, that means she’s basically resurrecting Junko in a sense... or acting as her vessel? Is that what will happen here? I think it’s possible for her to bring the ‘larger than life’ Junko from history (like the way long-dead historical figures can often become their own entities that walk the line between fiction and reality) as a way to get around the cospox issue unless I’ve really been accusing the wrong person this whole time lmao. It also lines up with all the times resurrection has been brought up in the game which is A LOT - the funeral scene/reviving the Ultimates, Ryoma describing himself as an empty shell walking around (and trying to ‘revive’ himself via a reason to live, killing off the initial protagonist then reviving the role for Shuichi, the Necronomicon, the seance, Korekiyo and his sister, and lastly, Kokichi via Kaito in the exisal. Combine that with my theory of the students just being normal kids who were reborn with the memories of actual Ultimate students who already died... and them even being forced to dress for those roles... this line of hers becomes really important!
Is this going to become a showdown between personalities who died ages ago? But for what purpose? Even though it looks like there’s a decent amount of things that were made up/embellished in those lights, the clip of the funeral, Kaede wearing the helmet and the meteors were shown outside of the flashback light scene - so are we still facing a doomsday scenario?
And back to Tsumugi herself - does she not have enough conviction to follow through with these plans and Monokuma unless she’s in Junko-wear? That would explain why she and Monokuma don’t seem to be on the same page... So which one of them is pulling the strings, exactly?? They’re definitely independent entities!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile Himiko is having a grand old time because she’s finally got a friend in Maki. Aaaaaaw ~
Tumblr media
We’re, uh, going to have problems if that’s true.
Tumblr media
SHUICHI REMEMBERS TOO LMAO
Strength of an old man, average or below-average agility, eyesight and intelligence... what else was there?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it wasn’t stripped from you???
But... maybe they didn’t realize you had it. Or don’t care? It’s not a dangerous upgrade, so maybe they didn’t realize it could be used in a way that could possibly hinder them...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He says he’s accepted it, but I think it was more out of necessity. It’ll take him some time to adjust to this new state of mind... but I’m happy to hear it, tbh. Just like Shuichi, he’s really struggled with his Ultimate identity up until now, you know? And even though it’s on more of an extreme level, these talents created differences in everyone and how they related to the world, not just him. It’s just a bit more... well, obvious in his case.
Tumblr media
It’s all about accepting the good with the bad, K1-b0! And despite some, uh, questionable actions on your part, you really did do so much for us - we never would have gotten to Kokichi’s and Rantaro’s lab, the mastermind’s room, or discovered the flashback light machine without you!
Tumblr media
Oh???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
.... Uh.
Uh. What. What are those. What.... What are those?!?!
GONTA WAS RIGHT - !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
w h a t they’re so stupid and cute
Tumblr media
Tiny.... cameras....??? They look like little camera men?
..... I.... I don’t know... if this rules out VR or not. Because if they need little these little guys with cameras, doesn’t that mean they don’t have the omniscient power of a computer program behind them....????
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, why did they not strip you of these new functions along with the weapons???
Tumblr media
First of all, damn, K1-b0! Getting your ahoge back didn’t kill all of that fire in you after all!
Second of all.............. your skin???? Shell??? It’s definitely changed colour? Since when has it been so human-like -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looks like K1-b0 can still be tough with his ahoge. :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh god, there’s a whole swarm of hivemind Camera-kubs all over the campus? And they’re literally everywhere?!?! wtf -
I guess that’s a similar concept to the regular Monokumas??? Sure there’s usually only one operational at a time, but they always seem to pick up where the last left off. kind of like Kyuubey
Tumblr media
First of all, ew.
Second of all, TRAUMATIC BUZZING NOISE FLASHBACKS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE ONES THAT I STUPIDLY THOUGHT WERE PART OF THE MONITOR SETUP AROUND THE SCHOOL
but that wouldn’t have made sense because there’s nothing like that outside -
So there’s nanotechnology that exists on such a scale............
Tumblr media
MONOKAMERA, THE SIXTH MONOKUB, HIDING ALL OVER THE ACADEMY. THE ONE THEY CALL THE ULTIMATE CAMERA GUY. WATCH OUT FOR HER THEM....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Can we note that once again it is Maki declaring that Kokichi was correct? She is doing her damnedest to check her own prejudices against him this chapter as penance and it’s great.
Tumblr media
It’s not ideal, but I also wonder if some of the things he uncovered were only possible using his methods. not that you probably actually are happy about that
actually I bet you were pissed about the whole chapter 5 thing too
..... I want to go back and see that tbh
Tumblr media
TALK OF REINCARNATION AGAIN.... also lol Himiko that’s kind of mean
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Monokuma thinks he’s going to win... and if I’m reading this correctly, he can still win at the expense of Tsumugi losing....? Is that why? Even if Tsumugi’s plan fails and we see past her trap of ‘Kaede is the mastermind’, identifying Tsumugi will still end up being a victory for him....?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And your sudden hope!extremism, yeah? Because that really was something. 8′D
Tumblr media
OH GOD WE’RE GOING IN I MEAN... I’M READY BUT I’M ALSO NOT TBH, I’M NOT 100% SOLID ABOUT THE BIG MYSTERY SURROUNDING THE GAME
like
I feel like I ~get~ some stuff but there’s still something just beyond...........
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“M-Maki I know you’re trying to put my mind at ease but can we not bring up dying before we’ve even tried to win -”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Real talk - I love Himiko’s spell names.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y.... Yeah........ but why are you excited about this....?
Then again, I feel like you were actually really attached to Gonta? I mean, you were always defending him, right? Is this your way of giving him some postmortem love? ...... AAAAH I DON’T KNOW -
Tumblr media
aslkdjf I know this was the same amount as last time but this is such a small cast left -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Man, we’re just... swinging right back to despair and hope again. Look, I know we’re appeasing K1-b0 but -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why.... why is it back again. Why is Monokuma back again. Why did the killing game come back at all - what is the point of trying to be Junko? What’s to gain from all of this?
I remember thinking and really liking the idea that this game was completely separate from the last two, so it’s strange to have arrived at this point at the very end, but.... well. Here we go, I suppose.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well said, Sweetcheeks.
So.... normally I’d have a drawn out map of the crime scene, but this is a pretty different situation so I made this at the trial save point:
Tumblr media
It’s a bit small, so I’ll recap and expand on that and a few other things:
“TSUMUGI IS THE FUCKING MASTERMIND AND SHE IS TOTALLY TRYING TO SET KAEDE UP AS THE ‘FAKE’ MASTERMIND TO SCREW WITH SHUICHI’S (ET AL)’S HEADS
She set up the document saying Kaede has a twin and is trying to draw parallels to Junko (to trick Shuichi)
She planted the shot-put ball in the mastermind’s lair
She didn’t talk about ‘birthing a Monokuma’ (when everyone else did)
SHE IS THE ‘MOTHER’ THAT WAS REFERRED TO BY MONOTARO IN TRIAL 4, NOT MOTHERKUMA
So I went into some detail earlier about Tsumugi herself, and over the last few investigation posts I ended up decided on what I outlined above. On top of everything else, I think we’re going to nail her on the idea that while Kaede’s murder occurred, she went to the library via the mastermind’s lab and stole Rantaro’s Survivor’s Perk. The problem is... then what? What exactly will we do after that? Also I swear Kaede thought of the same thing, with no idea what to do once we confronted the mastermind -
As for the general situation, I’m sticking to my guns about the class not actually being the Ultimates they think they are - I saw the ‘talents’ part of the flashback light setup menu. Actually, the flashback lights themselves.... jeez. Okay. Ironically enough, my thoughts on them are that their execution in the game is similar to Kokichi’s lying style.
First the game has a cutscene that’s completely truthful. Kaede and Shuichi remember being kidnapped at the beginning of the game. The entire prologue scene. The funeral at the beginning of chapter 2. The meteors in chapter 3. Hell, the kid at the beginning of this chapter, who seems to be watching them and getting inspired by them...??? Then... that’s when the flashback light comes in and embellishes that truth with fantasy. That funeral? It was for the entire class, and they all see themselves as being part of it (picturing ‘themselves’ in those photos rather than the students whose memories they all have). The meteors? It gave rise to an entire death cult - the Ultimate Despair, in fact - and they, themselves, were hunted (which plays off of the players’ knowledge of knowing they remember being kidnapped off the streets). Or something like that....
I’m just trying to place a few things, like that picture of Kaito with his grandparents in the motive video and the flashbacks of Shuichi and Kaede in the helmets. Where do they get placed in all of this? Was Shuichi able to project the image of ‘Kaito’ he knew when watching the video, or is that part of the technomagic of the video itself? We did have a whole segment of the VR chapter talking about the mind being able to be fooled into overcoming the reality of the situation (dying via simulation murder) so is it safe to extrapolate from there? And did Shuichi and Kaede remember themselves with those helmets separately from those flashback lights, as a delayed reaction (which as of this chapter is proven to be possible) or is that real?
As for whether this is a simulation, there’s evidence for and against that. The flashbacks with the helmets - pro. The physical presence of cameras - false. Though with that said, I’ve done a bit of work in computer programs where you actually have to set up cameras in-program and when testing the animation, it’ll only capture what’s set up in the frame - so then again, maybe not??? Those computerized cameras can be programmed to move along a certain path and the lens/frame/etc itself can also be altered.... and they did counteract having blind spots by swarming the campus with them so. Hm. Honestly, it could go both ways. I don’t want to dwell too much on this only because I don’t think that’s going to be the ‘big’ reveal anyhow tbh...
Still though; roles, escapism, resurrection. That’s what I picked up on the most through this entire thing. So how does that work together...? The students were told they were replaceable, and the game will never end. Rantaro lived through one but died in the next. Did he live through a game with this same group of classmates or other people? Or, hell, were they ‘other people’ but with the same names/personalities/memories, but different physical people? And if he was willing to repeat the game again, then why? Was it for a chance to break the loop? Or is there a goal to be accomplished if he wins it properly?
Okay, I think I’m starting to go in circles here. What I know: Tsumugi is the mastermind, and she’s not in complete sync with Monokuma. She’s trying to get Kaede(’s twin) framed; Monokuma is perfectly fine with Tsumugi being identified. Tsumugi falls back on the Junko persona when she’s in mastermind mode - when she was alone, she couldn’t help but be that way with Motherkuma. It’s a role she’s able to take - maybe passed down. Anyway, the point is, she uses it to ‘enhance herself’ or maybe to ‘escape her plain self’. Almost like an emotional support thing....? I wonder...
A lot of the truth as we know it is embellished. Only things we can trust from the flashback lights are things we saw independently of them as well, I think? At the bare minimum, pre-Chapter 4. After that point we didn’t have any corresponding prologue clips to match with the lights. With that said, the students were given talents and memories to match them - I think the Ultimate students they belonged to were actually killed... by the Ultimate Hunt, perhaps. Either way, these kids were brought in as ‘replacements’, the same way the Monokids were replaced. Rantaro, at the very least, was not a replacement though - he had a chance to do this again and took it, for whatever reason... Is this a simulation for the Gopher Project? Or something else entirely? Why ‘resurrect’ the Ultimate students at all? And why is there potentially a scenario where Tsumugi loses, but Monokuma still wins? WHY DON’T I HAVE A FULLY CONFIDENT ANSWER FOR EVERYTHING FFS -
Oh, and of course, Kokichi Ouma was 25 steps ahead of everyone and had Rantaro’s figure in his room too, so that’s cool.

Hello, it’s kawaiikichi with another picture post for Game of Cat and Mouse! So, as promised, I will be starting off with friend group #1!
Friend group #1 consists of Shuichi, Kaede, Maki, and Kaito (feat. Rantaro). The reason why Rantaro is also included even though he belongs with friend group #2 is because he is good friends with Kaede (or at least, they were good friends until Chapter 3). Also, the colors red and blue aren’t going to show up for a little while, so disregard those for now (I am actually planning on creating a bigger sized relationship chart once all the other characters get properly introduced).
The descriptions of the relationships between each character and how they met will be under the cut! There will most likely be some spoilers for future chapters, so read at your own risk!
Shuichi Saihara:
Kaede Akamatsu - He met her back in elementary school during fifth grade. He had just moved in with his Uncle after his parents left for the States to pursue their dreams. He started attending the elementary school nearby and was instantly isolated by the other students. He was eating lunch by himself behind a bush by the playground one day when someone pulled on his ahoge. That someone was Kaede. He freaked out and he wound up scaring the both of them. He was then forced to eat lunch with Kaede and had stayed by her side ever since.
Kaito Momota - He met him during the first semester of eighth grade. At that time, Shuichi had solved a murder case that traumatized him. Before this, however, he had been bullied constantly. The bullying intensified after Shuichi decided to wear his hat after the murder case. Kaito saved him as he was getting pushed around by some of the bullies. He then got punched in the face by Kaito, who told him that he needed to man up in order to fight off the bullies. He offered to be his bodyguard and that was how their friendship formed. Shuichi knows of Kaito’s crush on Maki and wishes that Kaito would just man up already and confess to her.
Maki Harukawa - He met her through Kaito at the beginning of their sophomore year of high school. She was pretty cold towards him at first, but after the loss of a close friend in junior year, she came to him first about it. This is considered the first time he had seen her so vulnerable. He also believes that she might actually harbor feelings for Kaito in Chapter 3 when he quietly notes that she plays with her ponytail whenever Kaito is mentioned or whenever he compliments her.
Rantaro Amami - He met him through Kaede at the fraternity party in Chapter 1. He doesn’t really know much about him besides that he used to work at a music shop that Kaede used to frequent often and that he ended up sleeping with Kaede during the fraternity party. They’re also in the same weekly seminar class.
Kaede Akamatsu:
Shuichi Saihara - She met him during fifth grade. He was in the class next door to hers, so their classes would often get together to do partner projects. She would worry for him, since she noticed that he would be by himself most of the time. One day, she spotted his ahoge sticking out of a bush and she pulled on it. He freaked out, causing her to get scared, as well. She made him eat lunch with her, since she didn’t think it was right that he was eating lunch by himself. She continued doing this everyday and they eventually became friends. However, she ended up moving to the next prefecture over and attended a middle school there. Afterwards, she took the entrance exam for the high school Shuichi and Kaito were going to attend and got accepted.
Kaito Momota - She met him through Shuichi during Christmas break in eighth grade. They hit it off almost instantly and quickly became friends due to how similar their personalities are. She knows of Kaito’s crush on Maki.
Maki Harukawa - She met her through Kaito at the beginning of their sophomore year of high school. During their Home Ec class, when Maki asks Kaede for help because she wanted to prove to Kaito that she can cook. Kaede helped her and their friendship has deepened since then. She is also the only one who knows for a fact that Maki has feelings for Kaito (this will happen in a later chapter).
Rantaro Amami - She first met him during seventh grade when she came into the music store that he was working at in hopes of finding a CD for Shuichi’s birthday. Ever since then, she started coming to the store more often and talked with Rantaro, eventually becoming friends with him. She ends up sleeping with him during the fraternity party in Chapter 1. After his sudden confession the morning after, she doesn’t know what to think of their friendship or the feelings Rantaro had been harboring for her...
Kaito Momota:
Shuichi Saihara - He met him during the first semester of eighth grade. He was heading to a vending machine to get something to drink when he saw Shuichi being cornered by a group of bullies. He saved him and chased the bullies away. He had seen Shuichi before in the halls, letting himself be pushed around by the bullies and beat up by them. He finds himself frustrated by how Shuichi was handling the situation and he punches him, saying that he couldn’t fight them off unless he learned how to man up. He offers to be Shuichi’s bodyguard and they have been friends ever since. He told Shuichi about his crush on Maki a few days after the four of them watched the meteor shower on the roof of Kaito’s house during the winter break of their sophomore year.
Kaede Akamatsu - He met her through Shuichi during Christmas break in eighth grade. They hit it off almost instantly and quickly became friends due to how similar their personalities are. He ends up telling her about his crush on Maki after she managed to convince Shuichi to tell her and she demanded that Kaito tell her everything in detail.
Maki Harukawa - She ended up in his class during sophomore year and from day one, he tried to become her friend. He would have her sit with him, Shuichi, and Kaede everyday so that she could be a part of the group. During a friendship event in school, he gifts her a friendship bracelet and she accepts it, becoming his friend. While the four of them were waiting for the meteor shower to start, Shuichi and Kaede had gone downstairs to get snacks, leaving them together. They share a moment and this causes Kaito to realize that he had fallen in love with her. He says he’ll confess to her, but hasn’t made a move to do so yet.
Rantaro Amami - He met him through Kaede at the fraternity party in Chapter 1. He knows about how Rantaro used to work at Kaede’s favorite music store. They are both in the same weekly seminar class.
Maki Harukawa:
Shuichi Saihara - She met him through Kaito during their sophomore year of high school. She was pretty cold towards him at first due to how timid he was. During her junior year, however, she lost a close friend of hers to suicide. She came to him first about it, since she felt like Kaito and Kaede might pity her and had a feeling that Shuichi wouldn’t do that. He is the only one she has shown her vulnerable side to and considers him a close friend of hers.
Kaede Akamatsu - She met her through Kaito at the beginning of their sophomore year of high school. During their Home Ec class, Maki asks Kaede for help because she wanted to prove to Kaito that she can cook. Kaede decides to help her and their friendship has deepened since then. When she came to the realization that she has feelings for Kaito, she confides in Kaede and asks for advice on what to do (this will happen in a later chapter).
Kaito Momota - She had transferred to Shuichi, Kaede, and Kaito’s high school during the second week of sophomore year. She ended up in his class and from day one, he tried to become her friend. He would have her sit with him, Shuichi, and Kaede everyday so that she could be a part of the group. She gave him a hard time about it, refusing to simply become his friend just like that. During a friendship event in school, he gifts her a friendship bracelet and she accepts it, becoming his friend. Even up to now, she is still oblivious of his feelings for her. However, feelings of her own begin to develop after they went to see fireworks in Tokyo during the winter break. He had given her his shirt to wear as it was very cold out and this act of kindness is what pushed her to subconsciously fall for him. After a few more interactions between the two, she soon realizes that she is in love with him. She doesn’t feel like confessing immediately, though.
Rantaro Amami -  She met him through Kaede at the fraternity party in Chapter 1. She knows about how Rantaro used to work at Kaede’s favorite music store. They are both in the same weekly seminar class. After finding out about what happened between him and Kaede, she nearly starts a fight with him on campus over it.
Rantaro Amami:
Shuichi Saihara - He met him through Kaede at the fraternity party in Chapter 1. They’re also in the same weekly seminar class.
Kaede Akamatsu - He first met her during seventh grade when she came into the music store that he was working at in hopes of finding a CD for Shuichi’s birthday. Ever since then, she started coming to the store more often and talked with Rantaro, eventually becoming friends with him. During these encounters, he began to fall in love with her. However, he kept quiet about his feelings because he felt that she didn’t feel the same way about him. But, during the fraternity party in Chapter 1, he drinks to the point where he loses all self-control and sleeps with her. He confesses his feelings to her the morning after, causing her to leave in a rush. Since then, their friendship has been quite rocky. They’re also in the same weekly seminar class.
Kaito Momota - He met him through Kaede at the fraternity party in Chapter 1. They’re also in the same weekly seminar class.
Maki Harukawa - He met her through Kaede at the fraternity party in Chapter 1. They are both in the same weekly seminar class. He nearly gets into a fight with her on campus after she finds out that he slept with Kaede.

Labyrinth of Touhou 30F Boss #1: Serpent of Chaos
Tumblr media
Uh yeah, I don’t know how I beat this boss already either
= = =
So I just finished the first boss on Floor 30, the Serpent of Chaos.
Me beating this boss was a complete accident tbh. I had decided earlier this week that it was way too hard at my current level (note: I had the last LOT post queued up a week before it was actually posted). I was running a practice set up when I ended up killing this boss, which was weird.
Anyway...

The Boss:
The Serpent of Chaos is one of the three, final bosses of Labyrinth of Touhou’s post-game. The SoC may be fought on Floor 30 after you have recruited all the characters. From what I can tell, it is considered the easiest boss of this trio though it’s hardly an *easy* boss.
There are three aspects to this fight; the first aspect is that the boss has three phases and with each phase, the strength of the boss’ spells increases (in phase 1, it mostly relies on single target spells while in phase 2 and 3, it will start to use stronger stuff like Ether Flare). The second aspect to this fight is that the boss shifts elements every turn it gets and it cycles through all six elements (in the order of FIR, CLD, WND, NTR, MYS and SPI). The third aspect is that the boss always gets three turns in a row. It’s obviously not the only boss to do this, but it is unique when considering the boss’ shifting element gimmick.
In theory, all elements are feasible with this fight, but in practice, due to the “three turns per turn” gimmick of this boss, the only practical weaknesses you can abuse are FIR and CLD or MYS and SPI. Non-elemental attacks are still feasible but if you plan on bringing someone like Marisa, you have to be counting turns so you don’t waste her nuke.
Despite how complicated I made the boss sound, this ended up basically being another damage race boss, albeit one that gets very messy depending on how mean or nice the boss wants to be at any moment.

My Party:
I didn’t go into the specifics last time, but I’ve basically leveled everyone by 100 levels. I haven’t changed the assortment of bonus points, though when it comes to skillpoint upgrades, I’ve basically bumped everyone’s skills to minimum 15k. Some characters are at the 20k mark, others like Marisa and Flandre have their offensive stats bumped to the 50k mark.
Here’s the actual setup:
Tumblr media
Remilia is a backup tank, Sanae is backup healer and also a speed buffer and Flandre and Eiki are my dedicated, non-elemental nukes.  Iku and Orin were test characters for this run.
With Iku, I realized that Ran was not suitable as a buffer past Phase 1, so I was testing her Stickleback buff (the next character I would have gone with would have been Renko and her harming buff)
With Orin, I was testing out “characters with multiple elements”. I previously used Okuu (she seemed perfect with her FIR and MYS element attacks) but that didn’t work so well because I kept forgetting what element the boss was on. Orin seemed more useful because of her elements, her stats, and her SPD.
Orin can make use of a FIR nuke and also a non-elemental nuke. In situations where I’d forgetten the boss’ current element, it was totally possible to just go with her non-elemental nuke instead. Orin also makes use of ATK and I have better ATK boosting gear than MAG gear (I have like, 10+ Gurthangs from all the grinding I’ve been doing). And of course Orin is really fast, and speedsters are always welcome even if it’s just to switch characters.
The main plan was:
Phase 1: use my favourite formation (Meiling/Reimu/Eirin) and have Ran buff up the back row safely.
Phase 2: try and get through Phase 2 as painlessly as possible
Phase 3: try and rush the boss. I would probably have to use Yukari and Kaguya to get extra turns, I would also have Iku buffing everyone’s ATK (since no doubt, we would have lost all the buffs by that point)
Equipment was like:
Meiling (lvl 458) Ribbon, Gantz Suit, Heavenly Sake
Reimu (lvl 465): Ribbon, Life Support System x2
Eirin (lvl 405): Ribbon, Pailsen Files, Miogaruna's Scale
Ran (lvl 427): Shuttle Body, Life Support System x2
Orin (lvl 464): Gurthang x3
Yukari (lvl 415): Gold Cloth, Arturos Gem x2
Kaguya (lvl 446): Gold Cloth, Psycho Gun, Speed Ring
Flandre (lvl 433): Gurthang x3
Sanae (lvl 457): Portable Makoto Ito, Ultimate ZUN Hat
Iku (lvl 440): Rizna's Ahoge, Ethos of Bodybuilding
Eiki (lvl 410): Gurthang x3
Remilia (lvl 409): ...uh, after checking my save, she had nothing.
Some interesting stats were:
HP: 203k (Meiling), 149k (Remi), 131k (Reimu)
ATK: 341k (Flandre), 197k (Eiki), 170k (Orin)
DEF: 88k (Meiling), 75k (Remi), 65k (Eirin)
MAG: 133k (Kaguya), 94k (Sanae), 75k (Yukari)
MND: 112k (Iku), 104k (Kaguya), 92k (Yukari)
SPD: 2444 (Orin), 2427 (Flandre), 2066 (Remilia)
(Some of these were affected by equipment)
= = =
The Actual Result:
Phase 1: went exactly as planned, though unfortunately I believe Iku actually died here (she got unlucky and was hit by Slash, a physical attack she had no chance of actually tanking with her DEF). I mostly relied on Orin for attacking here.
Phase 2: this was a mess. On this run, I realized that along with stronger spells, the boss gets the chance to use Rasetsu Fist as a finisher in this phase. R.Fist ignores DEF and MND, causing a static 110k damage. This is an attack I *could* tank normally... but since it’s always used as a finisher (the boss uses it third in their volley), most characters have been softened up and can’t tank it. Unless you have Komachi (I didn’t), it’s basically a “lose one character” attack if the boss feels like using it. I ended up losing my best defensive supports here (Reimu, Eirin, Yukari). Had to start bringing out my nukers in retalation.
Phase 3: at this point, I realized the fight was “kill the boss before he whittles your party one by one”, so I just went all out. This basically became “bring in my attackers with supports to keep up their strength, then switch them out when the boss gets a turn”. Lots of micromanaging situations with decisions “I have Meiling, Eiki, Kaguya and Sanae out on the field, and I can only get 1 character out. Who do I bring out?” (the answer ended up being “bye bye Sanae” and “holy crap, I can’t believe Eiki survived that turn!”). Meiling stays on the field (she’ll survive normal volleys and can self-heal to 100% by the time the boss gets a turn)
The final turn of the fight was me making a really bad mistake. I switched out the remaining characters left... but forgot that the boss has a certain chance of using something like Rasetsu Fist or Scourge that would just kill Meiling, even if she could tank the first two spells in a volley.
We ended up getting up stupidly lucky: the boss used Solar Light (which Meiling could tank), I was able to switch in Eiki with Meiling, Eiki uses Last Judgement, Meiling switches in Kaguya, Kaguya uses Stone Bowl on Eiki and then Eiki gets in another Last Judgement and...
Tumblr media
Boom.
The survivors:
Tumblr media
I think we got *really* lucky. If the boss had decided to use Scourge or Rasetsu Fist more, we would have lost Meiling. I think every character but Yukari and Iku ended up pulling their weight. Iku died too early. Yukari got too unlucky.
= = =
The Hibachi’s V2 fight is next. I have a bunch of strategies for that that I wasn’t able to make use of in this fight (e.g. Aya now having ABSOLUTELY ABSURD levels of speed when buffed) that I absolutely plan to make use of next.

Imagine this: you meet hanako IRL but she runs away and you never see her again.
I have been blessed. My life is immediately better. I spend 30 years searching for her only to find that she's ended up settling down with a dumb moron with a heart condition and a bad ahoge. Unfortunately for her, his heart condition did not allow him to live past age 48, and I find her mourning his passing at the local hospital. I sit outside contemplating my own pettiness when I notice a beautiful blonde woman with a cane. I approach her and ask if anything is wrong. She tells me that her best friend of 30 years just lost her husband. I apologize. She confides in me her worries. Her fear that her friend would regress to a previous state of constant anxiety that had plagued her in high school and indeed up until their wedding night. Even now, she tells me, her friend was wearing an old hat she hadn't worn in years to hide her scars. The woman looks tired, so I invite her for a drink at the hospital cafeteria. I buy her a nice black tea with milk and sugar, while I myself drink water due to my caffeine aversion. She asks me what I'm doing at the hospital today. I lie to her. I'm here for a checkup, I say. Routine. I'm getting old, you know, and my family has a history of colon cancer. No time like the present to get myself checked. That part wasn't a lie. My father was even younger than my 54 years when they found a polyp in his colon. After some time, she asks me if I shouldn't be going? Didn't I have things to do? Of course I don't. I don't have a job. I spent most of my 20s and 30s saving up enough money to invest in stocks and bonds, and I've been living on the proceeds ever since. I don't tell her that. I tell her I'm not busy, I'm off today. She tells me she had better get back to her friend. Of course, I say. I understand. She excuses herself. If you ever need anything, I say, feel free to give me a call. I hand her my number. I apologize that I didn't have it in braille. She laughs for the first time and says her friend can read it off for her. I tell her my name before she goes. She tells me hers. It's Lilly. Then she is gone. Then I wait. A few days later, I receive a call. It's Lilly. Would I like to have a drink, she asks. The funeral was today. Her friend wanted to be alone. Of course I would, I say. We meet at a local café. She orders a tea. I order a water, no lemon. The waitress looks anxious. I order a small sandwich to calm her nerves. Her nerves are unaffected. She spills water on me. Lilly tells her to calm down, it's okay. The waitress asks me if I'm alright. I say at least it's not the tea. I laugh. Lilly laughs. The waitress laughs nervously and apologizes. She leaves. Lilly talks to me about her friend. She's worried, she says. Her friend has been avoiding her. She won't talk to me, she says. She won't even mention his name, she says. I apologize. I don't know what to say, I tell her. It's okay, she says. I know it's not. She's obviously upset about the whole situation. Understandably so, I think. She doesn't know what to do to keep her friend from shutting herself off completely. She tells me so. I tell her the best thing is to encourage socialization. Let's get lunch again, I say, and bring her along. She might not be eating properly. That's a good idea, Lilly says to me. I'll do that. The next week, Lilly calls again. Let's do lunch. I say okay. She says she's sorry it took so long. It took a lot of convincing to get her friend to agree. I understand. We meet at the same café. Lilly orders tea. I order a water, no lemon. Lilly asks why I always order water. I say that I can't have caffeine. Gives me heartburn, I say. I laugh. Lilly laughs, quietly. The waitress laughs, nervously. Lilly's friend does not laugh. Lilly orders a second tea for her friend, and a sandwich. I order a sandwich, as well. I don't want to make her feel out of place. I also haven't eaten today. I'm very hungry. The waitress leaves. Lilly's friend whispers in her ear. I can't hear what she's saying. Lilly shakes her head. Oh, she says, I almost forgot. Hanako, this is Supes. I legally changed my name at age 30. Supes, she continues, this is Hanako. It's a pleasure to meet you, I say. I hold out my hand. She doesn't shake it. I understand. You too, she says, quietly. I nod. We have a pleasant lunch. I offer to pay for both of them. They politely decline. This isn't a date, Lilly says. Not yet, I say. I laugh. Nobody else laughs. They must not have gotten it. Lilly thanks me for meeting her and says goodbye. Goodbye, Lilly, I say. Goodbye, Hanako. She waves slightly. I smile at her. She smiles back, less widely and more embarrassedly. The next day, Lilly calls. Thanks for yesterday, she says. I think it's helped a bit. No problem, I say. Always happy to help. She asks if we can do it again some time. For Hanako, of course. I agree, of course. For Hanako.

Munakata Gets an Ahoge and Sakakura & Yukizome Lose Their Shit
Munakata has never learned the true value of a well kept look until this fateful day.
It was bound to happen, sooner or later. In hindsight, this was all perfectly preventable and yet he had failed to do so. In fact, he had recklessly dug his own grave. He had been overworking himself lately, more often than not. Everyday he’d work harder than the day before and increasingly, he began to neglect his own care. He was overworking himself to an early grave.
In fact, the usually prim and proper man had his sharpness dulled by stress and not enough hours of sleep. It had gotten to the point where he would collapse as soon as he’d get home, completely ignoring how uncomfortable it was to sleep in working clothes. Well to be fair, this was the first time he had been so negligent of himself and given his work ethics, he thought it was more appropriate to call him being indulgent instead.
Either way, it didn’t change the fact that Munakata had slept at the door again. A quick glance at his phone’s clock told him that he’d be running late for a meeting if he dawdled any longer. His hand tiredly dragged over his face as he then let out an exasperated sigh which suspiciously sounded like a yawn. Well he knew that the people he would be meeting wouldn’t mind seeing him in such haphazard attire and he would rather be less presentable than late.
If only he took the time to at least brush his hair then maybe he could have avoided the disaster altogether.
“Pardon my tardiness. I’m glad you two made time for me.” Munakata greeted his friends with a tone that was less stern than what he used with colleagues.
“Kyosuke!” Yukizome called back at him, her face was absolutely radiant with that wide grin of hers.
Until her eyes caught something.
“Oh no…” Her face instantly blanched and her voice shook in apprehension. “Please say it isn’t so…”
“Munakata!” Sakakura called out to him but he was also tight-lipped. A hollow laugh escaped his lips. “To think that this day would actually come.”
Munakata looked back at his friends and their odd behavior. Wasn’t it too early for theatrics? How strange because even if they did start early, this wasn’t their usual antics. Something was off. They both stared at him with certain seriousness in their eyes and he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was missing something. Those eyes were filled with just as much resignation as they did with determination.
And contrary to theirs, his was full of confusion.
“How cruel!” Yukizome broke into tears and hiccups. “I always knew you were destined for greatness but this is too much!”
“Dammit!” Sakakura in his frustration, slammed his fists against the table. “If this is how it is then I’m not backing out on this. I’m going to walk through hell and back for you.” With you, he almost said.
“Excuse me but what is the meaning of this?” Munakata asked, befuddled.
“He’s not even aware of it yet!” Yukizome gasped and then covered her face with both hands just as more tears flowed. “Juzo, you tell him. I don’t think my heart can take it if I see the moment his heart breaks.”
“Stuck with the dirty job, huh? Well it’s not like I’d turn you down. Someone has to tell him and I’d rather it be you or me…” Sakakura’s bittersweet smile was haunting. But only for a second. In the next moment, he had his lips pressed into a thin line as he then raised his phone with the screen facing his best friend. “Don’t worry. This changes nothing. We still got your back.”
Before Munakata could question his choice of words, his own words got caught in his throat as he saw his reflection for the first time on that day.
Munakata had an ahoge.
“I…” His throat was suddenly dry at the revelation. “I don’t understand.” But he did, he actually did to some degree which was why this development was so shocking to him. Why? Why now? He knew that he had the potential but this… this was never part of his plans, no, his goals.
“You’re a protagonist now, Kyosuke.” Yukizome sniffled as she tenderly held his hand with both of hers, tears shining in the corners of her eyes. “Congratulations on making it to the big league. I know that the path before you is now tougher than before but I believe in you. If anyone can pull this off then it’s you.”
“Look at you, can you get any cooler than this?” It was a rhetorical question. Sakakura knew that the answer was most likely “yes” and it would always be “yes” as long as Munakata was involved. The corner of his lips were pulled into a smirk as his eyes shone with admiration. “Don’t go leaving us behind just because you levelled up. You’re going to get our help whether you like it or not because there ain’t no way in hell that you’re going to face this alone.”
His two best friends smiled at him expectantly.
“I…” Munakata was speechless but he knew that they deserved better than silence. They were right and like always, they grounded him to reality. A smile of his own was forming on his lips as he said, “I’ll do my best. Thank you for staying by my side. And I hope you’d continue to support me as always. Let’s give it our all!”
The three best friends broke into cheer and celebrated for the rest of the day. Whatever plot or character development that the future has in store for him, he would courageously face them all head on. After all, he knew that no matter what, these two would always be there to catch him should he ever fall.
However, the next day, the stubborn cowlick was gone after Munakata had taken a bath… and they never spoke of that incident again.

AAAAAAUGH I am so unreasonably upset at how many continuity options just weren’t taken in oreshika 2, and thus how much of the story the english audience totally missed cos we never got the first game dubbed I’m reading thru this awesome LP/translation/summary here and its such a mind blown??
Seriously in oreshika 2/the one they pretend is 1 in english, this particular lady is just one of a million silent personalityless god options in a menu that barely gets more than a single sentence when you select her. All you can guess about her is that she’s vaguely some sort of comic relief lady who’s like.. vain or likes money or something? And says fox sound effects and stupid puns? But in the first game she was a main storyline boss and had A WHOLE ASS TRAGIC BACKSTORY and IS KISUTO’S STEPMOM Like seriously fuckin.. kisuto never even mentions her or talks to her in the second game??? And she never mentions her sad ass backstory?? And im just so mad I didnt appreciate her enough??
Her sad ass backstory i mentioned before when i first linked that LP but I didnt know all the full details then so i may as well start from scratch.
Okay so like.. Kisuto’s role in the first game is still an assistant character, but kind of a mysterious one. He appears as a ghost and says that he’s been magically trapped by the big bad villain dood, and needs your help to get free. And then he’s still as sassy as he was in oreshika 2 but he’s like.. weirdly more mean? he tries to act all assistant but he’s oddly flippant about other people’s suffering and also seems to know more than he should. And then the big twist is that KISUTO IS THE VILLAIN OF THIS GAME! Like wtf thats one way the undubbedness actually paid off, it was double unexpected when I knew him as the sassy helpful onii-chan from the sequel. And I know Seimei in the sequel is still quite a snarkman and quite sympathetic, but like he’s not.. comical? Kisuto as a villain is WAY more cool cos he is! There’s no seriousness in this man’s soul! Even as he’s talking about his tragic sadness he’s doing it in the middle of like.. a fuckin booty dance striptease. With cha cha music. I wish I was joking! Cos you see the fakeout villain guy who looked like some generic fugly cyclops ogre was actually kisuto in disguise, and then he friggin pops out of the guy’s mouth and it should be scary but LITERALLY A BOOTY DANCE STRIPTEASE. WHERE THE UNDIES ARE A WHOLE CYCLOPS. Its like ‘oh no maybe we didnt really kill the boss, he’s getting up’ and then... booty dance. And kisuto pops out. And it was a costume. And what is happening. And like its really confusing cos maybe it was a costume or maybe he was literally eaten by the cyclops and controlling it from the inside?? Cos somehow by defeating the cyclops we unsealed his true power and played right into his hands. And he monologues this whole thing in sassy gyaru style while doing naked supermodel poses, and then hops into a portal while waving sassy bye byes to the audience he just trolled to death Also he is VERY JUSTIFIED AS A VILLAIN, HOLY FUCK! Cos it turns out his motive is because YOUR FAMILY KILLED HIS FAMILY! Seriously, i can see why the japanese fandom is all ‘oreshika 1 forever!’, cos in a lot of ways it seems more like its the sequel?? oreshika 2 goes comparatively standard and formulaic with its premise, like as much as you can do when your premise is so weird. Your clan is JUST a clan that’s been cursed, whereas the first game mixed up your expectations and had this reveal that your ancesters were apparantly actually evil. Also it let you actually play as the ancestors for a brief prologue before the curse happened, which is super neat! Shame though that your first character is randomized based on birthday instead of being customizeable. But I mean oreshika 2 didnt even have birthdays! And also similar for a lot of other things! Like your assistant is just an assistant, whereas i’ve gone into oreshika 1 already knowing that your assistant is either gonna be revealed as a goddess or become a goddess somehow. Tho honestly the reveal of first meeting her in oreshika 2 was kinda great from the perspective of a newbie to the franchise! you spend the whole game only hearing of her second hand and its just ‘she’s the boss of the gods’ and you expect her to be all elegant and serious. But then when you finally meet her she’s this bombastic goofy nerd with cute lil glasses and an ahoge hairstyle and she’s like ‘lets get this party started!’ and poofs up her magic to save the day and also LETS YOU MEET WITH YOUR FIRST CHARACTER FOR A BRIEF MOMENT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE START OF THE GAME. I cried so much!! i wasnt expecting the game to have even saved his data! Its just a quick cutscene where his ghost helps super goddess lady break seimei’s barrier spell, but it was still so damn climactic and great. man I need to talk more about my playthru soon but i have so many screenshots to transfer, lol!
ANYWAY IM GOING WILDLY OFFTOPIC COS IM KINDA DELIRIOUS WITH ILLNESS AND ALSO ORESHIKA HYPE
so where this boss fox lady comes in is that her story is like a ‘be careful what you wish for’ thing. Her prayer for good luck was answered by an asshole god who decided to troll her with everything she wanted, but in a jerkass genie way. She became rich and found a husband, but he was an asshole who robbed her and left her even poorer than before. And then she committed suicide. But where kisuto comes in is that she’d adopted this mysterious baby she found at a forest shrine. And then when she’d got backstabbed by this horrible husband and was left without enough money to take care of her baby, she committed a murder suicide and took him with her so he wouldnt suffer. or, at least, that’s what she thought. Cos it turns out the kid was a baby demigod of some sort, and he cursed her into an oni as revenge, and now she’s stuck here weeping for what she did for the rest of eternity and wanting her baby back :( And like we still have the mystery of who kisuto’s biological parents were, and what happened to lead to him being abandoned in the first place. like, was the protagonist clan’s ancestor really evil or is it a misunderstanding? And is there any way we can resolve this peacefully? Well, I’m assuming so, since Kisuto is your totally non evil assistant guy in the sequel. Though I mean the sequel clan could be a totally different clan, its not very likely this poor lineage would get hit by the same curse twice in a hundred years! He doesnt really have any reason to be evil with anyone else but those assholes who orphaned him. Seriously if it really is true that prologue man and prologue woman did it, I am so on Kisuto’s side here! even if its dumb to take revenge on innocent children who had no part in the crime. Also I feel really sad for foxmom. Like I mean kisuto doesn’t have to be comfortable around her or forgive her when she friggin tried to drown him as a 1 year old. But like its not really her fault either, she was suffering and suicidal and thought she was keeping her kid from suffering too. She was just really mentally ill and needed some help, not a hundred years of being trapped as a weeping ghost werewolf thing. And really all she wants is to see that kisuto actually did escape, and grew up, and he’s okay and even if she knows it would be impossible to accept the apology she wants to say it anyway. Even if this poor kid is off being a villain, at least he;s a happy and healthy villain! seriously why dont you give me a damn dialogue option to tell her kisuto is her sonnnn
this game is so good and im so sad its not get dubbed and im so damn tired and ill and im rambling and ok bye thenk u oreshika for ease my pain by giving me mroe pain for fictional characters SERIOUSLY POOR VILLAIN KID AND FOX MOMMMM
