Saw a neat Fourcheanult post about the ways in which he sucks but tragically I cannot reblog without at least SOME analysis on how the loss of Louisoix would impact his choices and views on his children's actions

hellooo!! i want to say your blog and writing are so so soooo wonderful! i love it, haha, and buddy became dear for heart x) aaand!! thanks to you I like family fluff even more, it's my comfort zone now!
can i ask about older seeker, who care about skywarp and thundercracker with star? despite canon and w∆r, it's pretty nice to think that they're actually good with each other 🥺
Thank you for the compliments! I'm glad to hear that The Buddy's are leaving such a good impact on people!
Since you did not specify which continuity this was, I assumed you meant by the IDW continuity. If this isn't what you wanted, please let me know.
Now we've had a Human Buddy senior, get ready for Bot Buddy the senior!
Hope you enjoy!
Bot Buddy the Senior Seeker being a parental figure to Thundercracker, Skywarp, and Starscream
IDW
SFW, Platonic, Familial, Cybertronian reader
Buddy was one of the older seekers in the aerial troops.
If fact Buddy was probably the oldest bot in the Decepticon division. But despite being one of the older bots Buddy made it up with being an experienced flyer.
With their results it landed Buddy as one of Satrscream’s right hand assistant /teammate.
This meant that Buddy would be spending a lot of time with the Elite Trine.
“Buddy, reporting for duty, Starscream.”--Buddy
“Finally, someone who has some respect for the future Leader of the Decepticon army.”--Starscream
“Urgh.”--Skywarp
“Great another suck up…”--Thundercracker
“Well, isn’t that a bit ambitious isn’t it Stascream? Maybe not the future leader of the army—”--Buddy
“How dare—”--Starscream
“Don’t interrupt me Kid.”--Buddy
“Kid!?”--Starscream
“Nevermind I like this one.”--Skywarp
“Shush! Both of you!”--Buddy
“I was saying use your position to improve the lives of those who work with you.”--Buddy
“Now why would I do that!”--Starscream
“More kindness you spread the more kindness you’ll receive in the end.”--Buddy
“Buddy you might want to save your energy on that.”--Thundercracker
“Yeah, Screamer here doesn’t do kindness. I don’t think he knows the meaning of the word.”—Skywarp
“Worth a shot.”--Buddy
Enough time the Elite Guard had become too accustomed to the older bot being there all the time. Even after the war the Trine continued to have communication with Buddy.
Starscream wanted Buddy to stay on Cybertron as one of his advisors.
No offense to Rattrap but he isn’t the best bot to always have around. And he refuses to hang out with Windblade anymore than what he has to. Buddy does take time to visit Starscream whenever they are back on Cybertron.
“Screamer?”--Buddy
“Buddy?”--Starscream
“What are you doing?”--Buddy
“Having the mechs repaint your ship.”--Starscream
“Paint my ship?”--Buddy
“Yes, it was looking rather dull. Your ship shouldn’t have to look like that scrapheap.”--Starscream
“This isn’t a way for you to have me stay on Cybertron?”--Buddy
“No…”—Starscream
“Well then since I’m going to be here for a while, what’s going on between you and Windblade?”
“…”--Starscream
Buddy has made their home on Earth. It’s much more peaceful there now that the war is over. Buddy has to schedule meetings with Skywarp as his work has him moving all around with The GI Joe.
Skywarp likes it when Buddy comes over and races them around.
“C’mon Buddy best out of 25?”--Skywarp
“How about we take a breather? I can’t fly like I used to Skywarp.”--Buddy
“Aww! C’mon!”--Skywarp
“How about you tell me about that Rock guy?”--Buddy
“How about we take that breather.”--Skywarp
Buddy has to wait by themselves for a while to see Thundercracker.
9 times out of 10 Buster finds Buddy before Buddy has to try in finding Thundercracker. He gives Buddy a lot of copies of his screenwriting.
“Wow TC! This is a lot of screen writes.”--Buddy
“Yeah! I’m trying to get some of them to be produced soon!”--Thundercracker
“You seem to have a lot of good ideas here. But you might want to go over some of them again. I don’t think human’s have a last name like ‘Boyfriend’.”--Buddy
“I mean you can help me out as my editor. Just as a thought.”--Thundercracker
“Sorry kiddo, not my thing. I am however invested in how this one human having a crush on this other human that sounds suspiciously like Ms. Marrissa Farborne.”--Buddy
“Umm…”--Thundercracker
“And your love interest here kind of reminds me of y—”--Buddy
“HEY! Buster wants to play with you now! Isn’t that right Buster!”--Thundercracker
“Arf!”--Buster
Each seeker tries to keep Buddy longer each visit.
None want Buddy to leave.
Buddy never stays, but they always come back at the end of the day.

== Love Notes ==
Hey lovelies.
Have you had any water lately? Did you get to go outside and take a walk? Please remember that you need breaks sometimes, even if they're only a few minutes here or there.
You deserve rest-- and when things get rough, your brain needs a couple minutes to reset. Remember to take care of yourself and practice some self-care.
Self care means fun too!
Do something you enjoy that makes you smile. I'm not a fan of sticker/sticky things-- but I know a lot of people who love googly-eyes so I figured this was appropriate.

Anyway, gnight/gday crew, have a lovely one.
== Daily Darby / Tonight's Taika ==
I think I've done this Darby one on these recaps before, but I needed to have a theme tonight, and the them is well, I think you know. Yes that is Taika in the stash, from "Boy".

12.1K | Fluff | Soulmates | Meet-Cute | Getting Together
a glimpse of you and me (12129 words) by Winchesterek Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski Summary: “You write about soulmates?” Derek asked, sounding curious as he leaned in. “I didn't know there was a market for children’s books about that.” “Yeah, it’s starting to pick up traction the last few years. I know there weren't many books like this when I was a kid, but maybe things would’ve been different if there had been.” Stiles shrugged. Then he paused, wetting his lips as he tried to control his breathing. “Do…you believe in soulmates?”

~*~*~
It was move-in day. A day that Stiles was dreading because he didn't want to move their whole life into their new home on his own. Then again, that was why moving companies existed. And he’d made enough on his last published book that he could afford movers along with what he’d saved to buy their first home.
He was so proud of it and hoped that his daughter would love it just as much as he did, despite having to leave her friends when they moved back to his hometown, Beacon Hills. It had been a while since he’d been here, since High School really. He hadn’t been back for more than holiday visits and to bring Hazel to see her grandparents.
But now they’d be able to spend more time together as a family because he was back in his hometown rather than halfway across the country.
“Hazel!” Stiles shouted, looking around for his daughter as he picked up a box.
“Yes, daddy?!” She shouted back, coming into view. Where had she’d disappeared to for all of a minute? Stiles had no idea. She was fast and sneaky. He was always worried that she would get lost. It was one of his biggest fears.
“What were you doing?” He asked, hefting the box into his arms and looking down at her.
“Oh. I was looking around the yard.” She held up a dandelion. “And I picked you a flower!”
Stiles smiled, always fascinated by what the mind of a seven-year-old was entertained by. Then again, dandelion flowers turned into puffy weeds that made Stiles sneeze, so he was happy for her to pick them from the yard so he could eventually throw them away when they dried out on the kitchen counter.
“Let’s go inside so we can check out your room,” Stiles suggested, motioning with his head.
“Okay!” Hazel replied cheerily and then skipped toward the house.
“I get to pick any room?” She asked, voice tinny. He trailed after her, thanking her when she stepped inside and opened the door for him, but then she dropped it on his face so he struggled to open the screen door and get inside the house at the same time.
Then again, she was seven. She had the attention span of a bee.
Stiles put the box down once he was inside and closed the door behind him, looking around. It was a two-story home with a modest living room and a nice open-concept kitchen that overlooked the backyard where he would be able to see Hazel playing while he cooked.
And it had three baths. Not that Stiles thought they’d ever use three baths and the four rooms in the house, but maybe someday if he had more kids he’d put them to good use. Right now, Hazel was enough to give him a run for his money.
She was up the stairs before Stiles could answer her, no doubt already running to each room to look at them and choose the largest one. He was going to have to break her heart that the master bedroom wasn't going to be hers.
He found her in the largest secondary bedroom, looking out the window and into the front yard. He tapped on the door jam with his knuckle to alert her he was there before he asked, “Is this the one, pumpkin?”
“I think so.” She didn't look at him, too focused on whatever had caught her attention outside. “Daddy, who is that?”
Stiles walked up behind her and looked out the window, searching for what she was looking at. His eyes landed on a man in the driveway of the house next to theirs, working on what looked like a motorcycle.
“It looks like that’s probably our neighbor next door. And he’s doing something with a motorcycle…” Stiles couldn’t help but stare a little too long because the guy was traditionally attractive and the shirt he was wearing didn't leave much to the imagination with how it stuck to his body from what Stiles could imagine was from his sweat.
“Can we go see him?” Hazel asked, looking up at him with bright, curious eyes.
“Not today, sweetheart. We need to finish unpacking boxes and eat lunch. And we should get all of your stuff ready in your room so you can sleep in here,” Stiles replied, running his hand over the top of her head.
“Is Mommy coming over later?” She asked, her red hair shining in the sunlight that trickled through the window.
“Maybe. I’ll call her and ask to see if she’s busy. You know your mommy works a lot, but she loves you.” That seemed to tide Hazel over as she nodded and looked out the window again, leaving Stiles to shake his head.
They’d explained to her early on as best they could that mommies and daddies weren’t always together, especially since his best friend Lydia had done him a solid and was the surrogate for the child Stiles had always wanted. She’d even donated one of her eggs to him because she said her genetics were superior and needed to be passed on. He always got a laugh out of that, but he didn't think she was kidding when she’d said it.
So, Lydia took Hazel on weekends when she could and they chatted all the time on FaceTime. They had family dinners when Lydia was in town and Hazel didn't seem any worse for it. It worked for them. Stiles had Hazel full time and he was perfectly fine with that because he was the one that wanted her and practically begged Lydia to give her to him.
He owed her more than he ever could repay her for the little girl in front of him now. He also cursed her name half the time too when Hazel was too smart for her own good and left Stiles often confused about what to tell her. She was quick and her wit was sharp. Stiles didn't want to think about what she might be like when she was a teenager.
“Come on, pumpkin. Let’s go get some of your boxes from downstairs while the moving men unload the rest of our stuff from the truck,” Stiles said, running his hand over the top of her head.
“Okay, daddy. Then I can unpack!” She smiled up at him and then turned around and hurried off downstairs. He could hear her trampling the whole way down. That was going to be something Stiles had to get used to.
They busied themselves moving the smallest boxes into Hazel’s room while the moving company finished unpacking the truck and dispersing the boxes to the correct rooms. Stiles left Hazel in her room to unpack her boxes while we headed downstairs to make lunch. Two sandwiches later, one without the crusts and with extra pickles, the other being Stiles’ which he would say is a normal sandwich, and Stiles was ready for a break.
“Hazel! Lunch is ready!” Stiles waited and listened, but didn't hear little feat trampling down the stairs. “Hazel?”
Stiles frowned and went upstairs to check on Hazel, not finding her there.
Oh, god.
They hadn't even been at their new home for twenty-four hours and Stiles had already lost his daughter. Inside their house.
He hadn't heard Hazel sneak by, so Stiles checked all the rooms, the bathrooms and anywhere else he could think of before heading outside to check the backyard. He didn't find her there so he hurried outside to check the front yard. The moving company had already packed up and left.
And the only thing in the driveway was Stiles’ blue Jeep.
Stiles sighed in relief when he heard Hazel's tinny, high-pitched voice nearby.
He followed it, finding Hazel standing in the driveway next door with their hot motorcycle-owning neighbor. Stiles was going to regret this, especially if he fell all over himself talking to him.
“Hazel,” Stiles said, walking toward them. “I was worried when I couldn't find you.”
Hazel looked up at Stiles with her bright eyes, red curls tumbling down her shoulders. “Sorry, daddy. I wanted to talk to Mr. Derek!”
When Stiles’ gaze returned to Mr. Derek, he was surprised to see an almost blinding smile that made his eyes sparkle like a kaleidoscope. Damnit. This wasn't good for Stiles. At all.
“Uh, hi. I’m sorry my daughter was bothering you…while you’re working on your motorcycle.” Stiles kicked himself internally.
“No, no. It’s completely fine. I needed a break anyway.” Derek cleaned his hands with a rag, stained with oil.
“I’m Derek Hale,” he added, reaching his partially dirty hand out in offering to Stiles. Stiles took it, giving Derek a firm shake, and tried not to drool on him before releasing Derek’s hand. “Hazel was telling me that you two are my new neighbors.”
Obviously, Derek couldn't have missed the moving truck, but Stiles liked how he entertained his daughter and their conversation. “Oh, yeah. I used to live in Beacon Hills growing up and I’ve been away for a while, but I thought it was time to move back home.”
Derek nodded, still smiling as his gaze glanced over Stiles. “Well, welcome to the neighborhood—-”
Oh. Right. Stiles hadn't given Derek his name. “Stiles. Stilinski.”
Derek’s face looked thoughtful as he asked, “As in Sheriff Stilinski?”
“That’s the one.” Stiles chuckled. “He really should retire, but I think he’d be bored if he wasn't working. He likes to keep busy, even when he takes time off.”
Derek laughed and god, Stiles wanted to see more of that.
“I can understand that,” Derek replied, tossing the rag onto a toolbox next to his motorcycle. “I try to keep busy, but it’s easy to do when I’m at the firehouse most of the time.”
Stiles smoothed his hand over Hazel’s hair as she leaned into him, knowing that her big ears were taking in everything that Derek was saying. “Firehouse? So you’re a firefighter?”
“Yeah. I wanted to be one as a kid. I guess I grew up and managed to follow my dreams.” Derek chuckled again and met Stiles’ eyes.
For some reason, Stiles hadn't expected that. “Wow. That must be exciting.”
“It’s…interesting, for sure. I can say that the job is never boring.” Derek leaned over and closed the toolbox, which Stiles took advantage of and checked out Derek’s ass, which was very toned and unfair. Probably because of how much he worked out due to being a fireman.
“Well, we should let you finish up here and get back to our place. I made lunch,” Stiles replied, looking down at Hazel. And she was far too fascinated with Derek already. He was sure she was thinking up a thousand questions to ask him about being a fireman the second she got the chance.
“Oh, yeah. Sorry. I didn't mean to keep you,” Derek replied as he straightened and turned to them. He reached his hand down to Hazel and said, “It was nice meeting you, Miss Hazel. I’m sure we’ll see each other another time.”
“We will!” Hazel confirmed as she shook Derek’s hand. Stiles chuckled.
“Come on pumpkin, before your sandwich is soggy.” Stiles scooped Hazel into his arms and perched her on his hip, his eyes casting back to Derek, who was smiling at him still.
“It was nice meeting you, Stiles. Welcome to the neighborhood.” Derek’s eyes were downright sinful and Stiles had to calm himself as warmth spread through him at Derek’s look. He wasn't even sure if Derek liked dudes.
“Thank you. It was nice meeting you too… I’m sure we’ll see you around.”
“You can bet on it,” Derek replied and picked up his toolbox, then headed off toward his open garage.
He really needed to get his thoughts under control or they’d never make it through lunch. He jiggled Hazel and she giggled before they headed off back to their house.
Stiles had a really good feeling about being home again. Like it was all going to work out perfectly.
Chapter 2
Stiles heard all too familiar giggles from the aisle over and he couldn’t help the smile that crossed his face. He couldn't remember how long it had been since he and Derek started dating, but it seemed just like it was yesterday.
He grabbed a couple of boxes of stuffing and put them into his basket, followed by two cans of cranberry sauce and a can of mushroom soup so they could make turkey gravy.
Stiles loved the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. His Dad would be coming over, along with Derek’s family and they were going to have the biggest Thanksgiving dinner that Stiles had had since he was around 7 years old. He wished that his mom could be here, too. Stiles thought she would love Derek as much as he did.
He walked down the aisle and turned the corner, seeing Derek carrying Hazel under one arm like she was a bag of potatoes while she wiggled around and laughed. Stiles wasn't surprised. She often thought playing games in stores was the funnest thing. Stiles, on the other hand, was always afraid that he’d lose her. And god, he would never forgive himself.
Then again, Derek was always really good at keeping an eye on her. He walked up behind them and tickled Hazel as she squirmed and bucked, so Derek put her down with a grunt.
“She’s definitely your daughter,” Derek teased as Stiles wrapped his arm around Derek’s waist and kissed Derek’s cheek.
“I can verify that I was a wild child,” Stiles replied with a chuckle as Hazel climbed into the cart and sat down.
“I think you’re getting a little big for that,” Stiles told her.
“I’m only 9, Daddy,” Hazel replied, sounding annoyed like she often did these days. Hazel was 9 and it had been two years since they’d moved into their new house. Derek was rarely at his own place anymore and they’d been considering turning it into a rental for extra income. Not that they needed it, but it was a nice thought.
“And 9 is a little old to be riding in the grocery cart. Where are we going to put the turkey?”
“You can carry it!” Hazel said it like it was the simplest answer in the world.
Stiles frowned. “I’m not carrying one turkey, much less the three we’re going to need for our family dinner.”
Hazel sighed. “Fine. Can we at least get the stuff for our pie now? You know, the one that you said grandma used to make when you were little?”
“Of course. Why don't you grab us some cool whip from the freezer right there?” Stiles suggested, hoping that it would tide Hazel over since she’d be helping.
“I can do that,” Hazel said with a nod, climbed out of their cart, and went over to the freezer.
Stiles set his basket in the cart and turned back to Derek. “Hey there,” he said and leaned in to kiss Derek. The kiss was soft and sweet and Stiles wished he could kiss Derek longer, but it would definitely be indecent in the grocery store.
“Hey,” Derek replied, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “You find everything?” Derek’s hands fell to Stiles’ hips as he tugged him closer.
“I think I got everything other than the pie crusts and the cool whip. I figured Hazel might want to get those.” He wrapped his arms around Derek’s neck, his fingers playing with Derek’s hair at the base of his skull. He knew that Derek loved it when he did that and if Derek could, Stiles thought he would purr.
“Good. Then we’re almost done getting everything. We just need the turkeys.” Derek gave Stiles another peck that sent shivers down Stiles’ spine, like the kiss was a promise of more.
Stiles sighed, letting the happiness settle in his chest. “I love you, Derek. So much.”
“I love you too,” Derek replied softly. “And our little family.”
And Stiles hoped that one day, their family might grow. After all, he did have extra bedrooms in his house that he needed to fill.
***
Stiles jerked awake and held his chest, his heart pounding in his ears. It felt like he was ripped from another life. He reached up to touch his head. Stiles was still disoriented, swimming in and out of his dream, trying to figure out what was real and what was a fantasy.
What the hell had that been?
He’d never felt anything like that before. Nothing had ever been that real. His dreams were just dreams and he'd never dreamt of someone he’d just met before.
They were also dreams that Stiles was told that he’d never have. After all, Stiles didn't have a soulmate and he was told that he never would. It just wasn't in the cards for him. So they for sure weren’t soulmate dreams. That was ludicrous.
He sighed as he laid back in bed, letting the mattress hug his body, sinking into the foam. He breathed in and out slowly, letting his heart calm and his brain sort out what had been a fantasy and the real world.
But all he could think about was Derek. Derek that had been with them at the grocery store like it was any other day. Derek that had a smile just for him. Derek whom he was in love with in his dream. DerekDerekDerek.
Stiles knew he was really attracted to Derek but he needed to get it together. He wasn't crazy and he wasn't desperate. It wasn't as if he hadn’t had relationships and that men and women hadn’t been interested in him. He just wasn't in one right now and didn't really have any plans to be. His life was focused on Hazel and his career and Stiles was completely okay with that.
His mind wandered… and Stiles ran a hand over his face as if it would push away thoughts of Derek.
He was screwed and not in the best way.
Fuck.
Chapter 3
It had been six months since Hazel had accosted Derek, making him tell her all about his motorcycle and what exactly he’d been doing to it. He’d been changing the oil, something that Stiles hadn’t found out until days later when he’d chatted with Derek at their mailboxes.
Now he’d often find Hazel chatting away with Derek in the driveway when he was outside working on his motorcycle, or when he was in his front yard taking care of the bushes or mowing the grass. She’d even managed to get Derek to play soccer with her, which Stiles had no idea where she’d gotten a soccer ball from. So likely it was Derek’s.
Stiles was not athletic. At all. So maybe it was for the best that Derek had been the one that she’d talked into playing soccer with her that day.
They hadn’t played soccer since.
Hazel’s interests were fickle like that since she was only seven years old.
But really, Stiles hadn’t been able to stop thinking about Derek. Especially since every time he spoke to Derek, he had another dream. It was always something so domestic and simple, something so mundane that it would be boring for most people. That was what made it so awesome for Stiles, though. It was like Derek just fit into his life. Like he had always been there and belonged there.
Stiles had stopped believing in soulmates a long time ago. When he was seventeen he’d visited a psychic, one that told him that he didn't have a soulmate. At the time he’d been so lonely that he needed to know if he’d ever find his soulmate. If he’d ever find someone that would be his world. After that, he’d given up on soulmates. He lived his life like a normal person, never expecting to meet their soulmate.
It happened sometimes. A person would have no soulmate, or people could have multiple. Or maybe their soulmate would just end up being their best friend and it would be platonic instead of romantic. No one ever really knew how the whole soulmate thing worked, but it seemed like it had a mind of its own. How crazy was that?
Stiles looked through the mail as he lingered by the mailbox. He didn't know if Derek was home since he worked the oddest hours. Derek would be on for 48 or 72 hours, then he would be off for 24 hours.
Not that Stiles was keeping track of that. Of course he wasn't. Which is why he didn't really know if Derek was home. Maybe he should keep track of Derek’s schedule if he was going to try bumping into him more often. That would probably be the best idea. Although, it was also slightly on the crazy side. He wasn't a stalker.
Stiles faintly wondered if Derek had been having dreams about him, too. Sometimes someone’s soulmate wasn't always the other person's soulmate. Stiles wondered if Derek had ever thought about soulmates before.
He had to have, right? At some point in his life? Everyone did…
It would kind of be a weird conversation starter, so Stiles dropped it and sighed, closing his mailbox. He quietly hoped that Derek would be home later and that Hazel would sneak off to talk to him just so Stiles could find her and have a reason to talk to Derek.
He was a terrible person who used his daughter’s curiosity in Derek just so he could talk to their hot next-door neighbor.
Stiles walked up the pathway to his house and climbed the steps, heading inside.
Hazel was out with Lydia for the day, so he had some time to himself for work. He tossed the mail on a side table and grabbed his tablet from the couch, falling back onto it and resting his head against fluffy pillows. Stiles could also use a nap, but he had to turn in a few pages at the end of the week to his publisher. Just an update of what he’d been working on since he had gotten an advance on his next publishing contract.
Stiles opened a canvas and looked at the sketch of a little wolf and fox. It was a story of them becoming fast friends and falling in love. It was probably one of the cutest stories he’d written in a while. He wasn't sure if he should be thankful or not that children’s publishing companies pushed for books about soulmates, so children could learn about them early on.
Stiles knew that the fox and the wolf would have a tough time, especially because they were different, but they were soulmates, and children learning about differences and challenges was always a good thing.
He started coloring in the scene, focusing on the wolf for a while, painting his black fur, and giving him minute details that didn't really matter in a children’s book. He smiled at the wolf and stroked his finger over the image.
“At least you have a soulmate little wolf,” Stiles said softly, then frowned when there was a knock on the front door.
He glanced at the time on his phone. It wasn't nearly time for Lydia to bring Hazel back and he wasn't expecting anyone. He closed his tablet and tossed it back onto the couch, then headed to the front door.
Stiles opened it, shocked to see Derek standing there.
“Uh, hi.” Derek smiled, shifting there awkwardly on Stiles’ porch. Then he wiggled something in his hand and Stiles’ eyes dropped to see a package. “It looks like this was delivered to my house but it’s yours.”
“Oh.” Of course Derek was here to do something as simple as return a package to him. It wasn't like he was there for Stiles. “Thanks.”
Stiles reached out for the package, his fingers brushing against Derek’s as it was handed over. He might have lingered a little too long during the exchange, but he told himself that was because he wanted to make sure that he had a good hold on his package before taking it from Derek.
If he were using an emoji right now, he would definitely be using a side-eyed Discord dog emoji in response to the lies he told himself.
“Would you like to come in?” Stiles asked, opening the door more and stepping aside. Why he was inviting Derek inside? Stiles had no idea. He just knew that he didn't want Derek to leave.
“Oh, sure.” Derek rubbed his hands on his pants, then stepped through the threshold. He looked around as Stiles closed the door. “Wow. I guess I wasn't sure what I expected it to look like in here, but it’s nearly the same design as my house.” Derek paused. “The layout, I mean.”
“Yeah, I figured they would all look pretty similar. I think when they made the neighborhood the developer had very little differences in the main layouts of the houses. It was really based on how many rooms there were. At least, that’s what I found online when I was researching. And by researching, I mean avoiding drawing,” Stiles rambled.
“You like to draw?” Derek asked, pushing his hands into his pockets as he faced Stiles.
Stiles smiled and nodded. “It’s kind of my job. I write and illustrate children’s books.” Which was probably what was inside the box now that Stiles was thinking about it. Derek looked star-struck when Stiles’ gaze flicked from Derek to the box in his own hands.
“Wow. That’s…amazing. I guess it wasn't expecting that either.” Derek’s cheeks were flushed and the tips of his ears were pink as Stiles studied him.
“What were you expecting?” Stiles asked curiously, wondering what Derek thought of him. But if Derek was expecting something, then at least he was thinking of Stiles, right?
“I’m not sure,” Derek replied, shifting from foot to foot. Stiles wondered why Derek seemed nervous. He never seemed nervous when they’d previously talked.
“I guess most people never expect me to be a children’s book writer and illustrator. So I shouldn't really be surprised that you thought I’d do something else for a living.” Stiles picked at the tape on his package.
“I guess because your father is the Sheriff, I thought you’d get into something doing with law enforcement. Maybe a lawyer,” Derek added, his gaze focused on Stiles.
Stiles laughed, nodding. “Yeah, I guess I can see that. At least, the law enforcement part. At one point I wanted to work down at the station and possibly become a detective. I wasn't sure what kind of detective. And on another occasion, I entertained the idea of being an FBI agent.”
“FBI, huh? I guess your life would be a lot different if you did that for a living…” Derek rocked on his feet but he didn't turn away from Stiles nor look away.
Stiles tilted his head, thinking about that. His life might look different and he might not have the stability to have Hazel. Which meant that there was no choice. He wouldn't have it any other way.
“I guess it would be a lot different,” Stiles said and nodded. He licked his lips, the back of his mind itching to tell Derek he’d been dreaming about him. “Do you want something to drink?” he asked instead. Damnit.
“I’d love something to drink,” Derek said with a soft smile, the offer seeming to relax something in both of them. “Water is fine.”
Stiles tipped his chin toward the kitchen. “It’s this way, but if your house is almost exactly like mine, then you’d know that.”
It was Stiles’ turn to flush for no reason and he kicked himself mentally. He walked with Derek to the kitchen and set his package down on the island. “So you’re off for the next 24 hours?”
“Yes. I just got off shift.” Derek leaned against the island as Stiles grabbed a glass from the cupboard.
“Ice?”
“Sure.”
Stiles filled the glass with ice from the dispenser and topped it off with water before turning and handing it to Derek. “You must be pretty tired, then.”
“A little. I’m still running on adrenaline from our last call. But it will wear off in a bit.” Derek took the glass, not pulling it away from Stiles’ hand immediately. “Thank you…”
“Of course.” Stiles smiled almost shyly. “It’s the least I could do for you returning my package.”
Once Derek took the glass, Stiles looked at the box again and grabbed a butter knife. He cut the tape and set the knife aside before opening it. Sure enough, there were some proofs for his next book.
“Are those yours?” came Derek’s voice over his shoulder. It really shouldn't take Stiles’ breath away and send a shiver down his spine with how close Derek was now.
“Uh, yeah. Well, the beginning of a series that I’m working on.” Stiles pulled a book out and smiled as he smoothed his thumb over the black wolf on the front cover. “It’s about a fox and a wolf meeting and finding out they’re soulmates.”
Well, there it was. The topic had been thrown out into the open. There was no avoiding it now unless Stiles wasn't Derek’s soulmate despite Derek being his. Then Derek would have never seen glimpses of their possible future together.
“You write about soulmates?” Derek asked, sounding curious as he leaned in. “I didn't know there was a market for children’s books about that.”
“Yeah, it’s starting to pick up traction the last few years. I know there weren't many books like this when I was a kid, but maybe things would’ve been different if there had been.” Stiles shrugged. Then he paused, wetting his lips as he tried to control his breathing. “Do…you believe in soulmates?”
Derek looked hesitant, like he was searching for the right answer. After a few moments, Derek said, “I’ve always loved the idea of soulmates…but just because you have a soulmate doesn't mean it will work out, or that it will be romantic. It could be platonic. That doesn't mean you can't fall in love with someone that’s not your soulmate. That you can't have a life with someone and be happy if they aren’t your soulmate.”
Derek set the glass on the counter and shifted to lean his hip against it, standing next to Stiles. There were only scant inches between them, which had Stiles’ heartbeat speeding up. If Derek had supernatural hearing, Stiles’ heart would completely betray him.
“I think soulmates could make it easier if you’re compatible with the person. At least, if you’re mutual soulmates. I know it doesn't work out for everyone that way,” Derek added.
“So…you haven't found your soulmate yet?” Stiles asked carefully, knowing he was treading water and hoping he wasn't about to drown.
“Well…I wasn't sure that I had one,” Derek replied. “I, uh—also wasn't out there searching for my soulmate either. I figured if I ever met them, then it would happen because it was supposed to. I’ve never signed up for those soulmate dating apps or anything.”
So…then maybe Stiles wasn't Derek’s soulmate even if Derek was his. His heart sank at the thought and he drew in a shaky breath. “Yeah, well, I haven't used those sites either.”
The silence hung between them like it was something fragile that neither of them wanted to break. Stiles wasn't sure how long it lasted until Derek’s words broke into his thoughts with, “I had dreams about you after the first day we met, Stiles.”
Stiles looked at Derek, confused. Had he just heard what he thought he heard? “What?” Stiles asked, his mind fuzzy with hope and his heart breaking if it hadn't been.
“After we met that first day, the day you moved in. I had a dream about you and Hazel.” Derek took a deep breath. “We were at a grocery store shopping for a family Thanksgiving dinner.” He looked like he was waiting for Stiles to process what he’d said and Stiles’ mind was spinning.
Derek had had the same dream he had. Of them being a family, of being in love. Of spending the rest of their lives together. Because that’s exactly what Stiles had dreamt and felt then, too.
“Really?” Stiles asked, still refusing to believe it. He couldn't let himself believe that it was true. That his whole life had been a lie up until now. That he actually had a soulmate. “I—I— I had the same dream,” Stiles breathed.
“And your family was going to come over. And my dad. We were going to have Thanksgiving here.” Stiles slipped back into that moment with Derek, standing in the middle of the frozen section aisle while Hazel went to grab the cool whip for his mother's pie. He remembered the way Derek’s lips felt against his, how Derek’s voice sounded when he told Stiles that he loved him.
“Stiles?” Derek asked gently, pulling Stiles from his thoughts again. “Are you okay?”
Stiles ran a hand over his face, trying to push away his memories of their shared dream. Did that mean that Derek had shared Stiles’ other dreams? “Yeah, I’m okay. Sorry… it’s just a lot to process.”
Derek nodded, crossing his arms and shifting to lean back against the island, his body turned away from Stiles. “Yeah… I understand. I wasn't sure if I should say anything…”
“It’s not that I don't believe in soulmates,” Stiles was quick to assure Derek, “It’s just that I didn't think that I had one. So, it’s a little more to process than just finding out… I guess, like, normally.”
Derek was nodding, but he didn't say anything right away. “Well,” he breathed out. “How about we start out by going out on a date? I mean, if you’re into guys. I guess I should have asked that first…”
Stiles laughed softly, brushing a hand through his hair. “Yeah, I am. It would kinda be weird if I wasn't and my soulmate was a dude, huh?”
Derek chuckled. “Well, I guess in that case we could have been really good friends… and maybe great neighbors.”
Stiles laughed again, then he breathed out all the tension he didn't know he’d been holding in. “You’re into dudes, right?”
Derek smiled at him like it was a given. “Well, yeah. I wouldn't have suggested we go out on a date if I wasn't.”
“I just had to make sure. You never really know with these things. I didn't want to assume.” Stiles looked down at the book in his hands that he’d completely forgotten about. “Did you want to look at the book? I’m working on the second one in the series now.”
“I’d love to,” Derek replied, uncrossing his arms and reaching out to take the book from Stiles’ hands. “So, you said it’s about a fox and a wolf?”
“Yeah…” Stiles turned to lean back against the island, scooting just a little closer to Derek as he looked at the book in Derek’s hands. “Obviously the black one is the wolf,” he added, reaching out to brush over the wolf with his finger. “And the fox is a red fox.”
Stiles didn't know why he was telling Derek what he could see for himself. “They meet in the forest and spend the day together and promise to meet again before winter sets in.” He smiled as he studied the cover. “It takes a long time, between getting ready for winter and taking care of the pack, but within that time they dreamed of each other and of what their lives could be like if they stayed.”
Derek opened the book, looking at each page like it was the most interesting thing in the world. Like maybe it was their story.
“And they decide to winter together instead of being separated again.” Stiles smiled as he touched the opening of the wolf den on the page. “And then they never parted after.”
“So, the second book?” Derek asked as he looked through the rest of the pages. “What is that one about?”
Stiles shrugged and smiled. “Life, I guess. Just because someone is your soulmate doesn't mean you won't have challenges, right?”
“Right,” Derek agreed and closed the book. “I think it’s a really great book. And I can't wait to see what you come up with for the second book in the series. How many are going to be in it?”
“I’m not sure. But right now I have at least three planned out. I guess it depends on the publishing company and if they want more books in the series. I can always create new characters, though, for another series. New stories. New lessons.” Stiles bumped his shoulder with Derek’s and Derek handed the book back to him.
“I’d love to see your other work sometime,” Derek replied, not pulling away as Stiles rested their shoulders together.
“Yeah, I have other books I can show you. I don't think I can share what I’m working on right now, but after it’s all finalized I can share then.” He took the book from Derek and set it on the counter behind them.
“So…where are we going on a date?” Stiles felt his cheeks heat at the question, telling himself he shouldn't be nervous about this.
“I’ll leave that up to you,” Derek replied softly, smiling at Stiles. “We can work something out.”
Stiles had always believed that soulmates were forever and he couldn't wait to explore that possibility with Derek.
Derek was right. They’d work it out.
Chapter 4
Stiles checked his watch and sighed, looking around Hazel’s classroom and the other 25 first graders in the room. Today they were going on a field trip and Stiles had volunteered to be a parent chaperone.
He was already regretting it.
Apparently, there were no other parental chaperones. So, Stiles looked at the list of names in his hand and counted the kids again to make sure they had the correct amount before they all filed onto the school bus.
Their field trip was a short ride and Hazel had been talking non-stop about it. They were visiting a local firehouse to see the trucks and learn about fire safety. Stiles continuously reminded her that it might not even be Derek’s firehouse and if it was, Derek might not even be working when they got there. Or Derek might be out on a call saving someone from a fire.
Hazel promptly ignored everything Stiles said, insisting that Derek would be there because she was ‘going to see him be a fireman today!’
Stiles couldn't deny that he wasn't excited at the possibility of seeing Derek all dressed up in his work clothes. He hadn't seen Derek in anything related to his job yet, not that Stiles didn't like Derek’s regular clothes. But he’d thought about Derek on more than one occasion dressed up as a fireman. It had definitely fueled some of his late-night thoughts.
It had been two months since they’d started dating. It was difficult since he had Hazel full time and Derek’s schedule was a little crazy, but they’d found the time. Even if it was only when Derek came over after his shift while Hazel slept.
They snuggled and fell asleep together on the couch probably a little too often.
Too often for Derek not to have kissed him yet.
Stiles had been thinking about kissing Derek for weeks at this point on a daily basis. He just wasn't sure how to go about it and Stiles was worried that Hazel would wake up and catch them in the act. She’d never seen Stiles kiss anyone, so that would be a whole conversation in itself.
After he helped settle the kids into their seats, he took a seat at the front and they were off.
The drive was less than fifteen minutes to the firehouse and the kids were way too excited and in a chatter as they started unloading them. Stiles tried to keep an eye on everyone, even as Hazel took his hand and the kids gathered around in a small group with the teacher in front.
“Alright, class! We are going into the firehouse and they’re going to show us the firetruck after we discuss fire safety.”
With that, they filed into the building as quickly as 26 first graders and two adults could. Once they were inside the cramped space that looked like a lounging area that also had a kitchen on one side, they were greeted by three firefighters. Stiles glanced at their name tags, which read: Erica, Boyd, and Isaac.
The blond bombshell stepped out from the group. “Look at all these cuties!” she exclaimed excitedly, beaming at the kids. “I am Miss Erica and these are my two helpers, Isaac and Boyd.”
All the kids said hi in near unison and Stiles chuckled as he watched them explain fire safety to the kids. Then the blond guy, Isaac, acted like he was on fire, fake yelling and all before he dropped to the ground. Boyd, with an unamused look on his face, took off his coat and covered Isaac with it to pat him down. Erica narrating the whole scene was almost just as assuming as watching the two men act it out. The kids were enthralled by the demonstration.
All of them except for Hazel, of course. Stiles looked down when he felt Hazel tug his hand.
Her eyes were big and bright, looking expectantly at Stiles like he had all the answers in the world. Which he definitely didn't.
“Daddy…are we going to see Mr. Derek?” she asked, which made Stiles sigh. Again.
“I don't know, pumpkin. I told you that he might not be here when we got here. Right now it looks like we have some fun people showing your class about stopping, dropping, and rolling if you catch on fire, though.”
Hazel looked sad and uninterested. “I already know how to do that Daddy. We talked about it at school with the nurse.”
Of course they did.
Stiles glanced up at a tiny girl, who announced herself as Kira, came into the room and started separating the students. It looked like she was a paramedic and not a firefighter.
“Okay! Sir, you will be with me and I’m going to show your group the ambulance. Our firehouse is assigned an ambulance that makes emergency runs on its own but also assists the fire trucks. In addition, they back us up when we leave the firehouse on separate calls, just in case we need extra help,” Kira started as she motioned for the group of six kids that had been corralled with them toward the ambulance parked in the bay.
When they reached the back of the ambulance, a dark-haired woman was sitting inside with the doors open. Her smile was warm, her lips red, and her eyes sharp as she greeted the kids. “I’m Laura. Welcome to our firehouse. We’re so excited to have you here with us today!”
Stiles’ brows furrowed as he studied her. She looked frighteningly familiar, but he’d never met her before.
Kira and Laura helped the kids into the back of the ambulance, showing them the various tools inside. Hazel seemed more interested in talking to Laura, rapidly firing a million questions at her. Laura didn't seem to mind, like she was used to it.
His daughter had a way of wrapping every person she met around her little fingers and Laura looked like no exception. It was a good thing that they’d only interact for the field trip, otherwise Hazel might have another person out there willing to do her bidding for whatever she asked. Stiles chuckled to himself.
“Stiles,” came a voice from behind him and he turned to see Derek there, half-dressed in his fire get-up. He was also dirty, as if he’d just come from a call.
“Oh, hey,” Stiles replied, his smile growing. “I didn't know you were here.”
“I just got back,” Derek replied, motioning to the fire truck parked right outside the bay where other firemen were inventorying.
“We haven't been here that long,” Stiles assured him, tilting his head and taking in Derek’s appearance more. It really was hotter than Stiles expected it to be, especially because Derek was sweaty and had soot on his skin. “You okay?”
Derek nodded, smiling tiredly at Stiles. “Yeah. Just had a hard call. I can't exactly give you details, but everything worked out.” He walked over, reaching out to hold Stiles’ hand and tug him closer. All Stiles wanted to do was kiss him, but he managed to control himself as Derek wrapped his arms around him and buried his face against Stiles’ neck. Stiles circled his arms around Derek and held him, giving him whatever comfort he needed.
“Mr. Derek!” Hazel shouted, pulling Stiles from his thoughts. Well, there went the whole trip. He couldn't blame Hazel for being infatuated with Derek. Stiles was too. It was more than that for Stiles, though.
Derek chuckled and drew back, letting Stiles go, and looked down at Hazel who was already next to them, raising her arms excitedly. He picked her up and perched her on his hip easily. “Hey, Peep,” Derek teased.
“That’s not my name, Mr. Derek,” Hazel replied, sounding offended. Derek had given her the nickname within the first couple of weeks because he’d said Hazel’s voice sounded like a little bird. Stiles thought it was cute. Hazel did not. He supposed it could have been worse. He could have called her Chirp. Stiles really tried not to laugh to himself.
“Alright, alright. Miss Hazel,” Derek replied. “How are you enjoying your field trip?”
“Good, now that you’re here!” Hazel hugged Derek and Stiles thought it was the most adorable thing, but she would likely need a change of clothes with the soot that clung to Derek transferring onto Hazel.
She pulled back and looked him over, then frowned. “You’re stinky,” she stated matter-of-factly.
“Hazel, that’s not nice,” Stiles chided, but he was smirking and biting his lip. “We don't say those things to people.”
“But he is,” she replied and shrugged.
Derek laughed. “Well, I was going to take a shower so I wouldn't be stinky, but I wanted to come say hi to you before I did that.” He glanced toward the ambulance and raised his chin at Laura.
Oh. Oh. Well, Stiles knew now why she looked familiar. She looked nearly identical to Derek.
“I see you met my sister, Laura.” Derek’s gaze returned to Stiles and he couldn't believe that he’d just met Derek’s sister. They hadn't really talked about meeting each other’s families yet.
“I didn't know she worked with you.” And why Derek hadn't mentioned it before.
“We both got our EMT certificates in high school, but I decided I wanted to become a fireman. Laura was happy with staying in an ambulance. She gets to help a lot of people that way. At least on a daily basis.” Derek jiggled Hazel and she giggled, holding onto him.
Stiles looked back over where Laura was letting the kids hear her heart through a stethoscope. Yeah, they were definitely related. And the genetics were strong. Derek had told him she constantly reminded him she was fifteen minutes older than him since they were twins.
Derek nudged Stiles with his shoulder.
“I’m going to shower and I’ll be right back,” he promised, handing Hazel over. Stiles shifted her onto his hip as Derek smoothed a hand over Hazel’s hair. “It won't be long.”
Before Stiles could respond, Derek was retreating and Hazel asked, “Are we going to see the fire truck, Daddy?”
All Stiles could think about was how fucking hot Derek’s ass was as he disappeared into the lobby.
He was going to Hell.
Chapter 5
Stiles closed the front door and locked it before taking a deep breath and running a hand through his hair. Lydia had just left with Hazel for the weekend. And if Stiles’ weekend went as planned, Derek wouldn't be leaving until Monday since he had two days off. Two days that Stiles wanted to spend enjoying everything he could with Derek.
“Hazel leave okay?” Derek asked as Stiles walked back into the kitchen. He was chopping asparagus at the island, smiling at Stiles. He looked like he belonged there, just like he had when Stiles first dreamed about him ten months ago.
Ten whole months of domesticity and Derek slowly integrating into their lives. Stiles couldn't believe that much time had already passed since it seemed just like yesterday that they’d moved in next door.
“Yeah. She was excited about spending the weekend with Lydia.” He walked into the kitchen behind Derek, wrapping his arms around him and leaning his chin on Derek’s shoulder. “Lydia even gave me a wink.”
Derek chuckled. “High hopes for this weekend?”
“Maybe,” Stiles teased as he watched Derek finish the asparagus and put it into the pan. “I think the pot roast is almost done and I was thinking, maybe tomorrow we can have steak and mashed potatoes?”
Derek set the knife in his hand aside and turned the heat down on the stove before turning in Stiles’ arms to face him. He leaned back against the counter, one hand moving up to wrap around the back of Stiles’ neck.
“That sounds perfect,” Derek said softly, drawing Stiles in for a kiss. It was soft and sweet, undemanding. Safe. It made Stiles warm all over as he leaned in, pressing his body against Derek’s. When they parted, he sighed and rested his forehead against Derek’s, Stiles’ hands trailing up Derek’s arms and resting on his biceps.
“I could get used to kisses like that…” Stiles didn't pull away and wet his lips. “Every day…” The suggestion twisted his stomach, filling it with butterflies.
Derek smiled, brushing his nose against Stiles’, causing Stiles to look at him. “Are you asking me to move in with you Stiles Stilinski?”
“I—” Stiles studied Derek, looking into his eyes like they held the answers to the universe. Was he asking Derek to move in with him? Was ten months too soon? They were soulmates, after all. It wasn't as if they hadn't spent the last ten months weaving in and out of each other's lives. “I… think I am.”
Stiles breathed deeply, wishing for courage. “Hazel adores you,” he continued. “And I—” Oh, god. Was he going to say it? Would Derek say it back? Would Derek say yes? “I love you, Derek.”
Derek didn't hesitate as he replied, “I love you too, Stiles. More than I’ve ever loved anyone.” He pressed his lips to Stiles’ again, this time kissing him a little deeper, almost tentative. “You’re my soulmate. This is the only place I want to be.”
Stiles squeezed Derek’s biceps as if they could ground him, taking a shaky breath. “So does that mean that you’re moving in with us? Is…that a yes?”
He didn't know why he was more nervous than he was before. There was no way that Derek would tell him no after what they just confessed, would he?
“Absolutely. Whenever you want. We can pack everything this weekend.” Derek’s smile was almost blinding as Stiles drew his bottom lip between his teeth.
“I… was hoping that we’d, um—spend our time inside this weekend. Together.” He could feel his skin flush, knowing it would make him blotchy all over. “Preferably with no clothes on.”
“Oh.” Derek chuckled. “Well, I can't say that I wasn't hoping for the same thing, because I was.” Stiles always thought Derek was cute when the tips of his ears turned red, but at least he knew that they were both flustered over the prospect of all-weekend sex.
Stiles laughed. “Well, we should probably at least eat first. We made all this food. Then we can put everything away. I can officially show you my bedroom.”
“I eagerly await the official tour,” Derek teased, giving Stiles a peck. Stiles knew it was more so neither of them would lose control and rip each other's clothes off right there in the kitchen. Not that Stiles was opposed to having sex for the first time with Derek in his kitchen. “Come on, let’s eat.” This was going to be the fastest dinner Stiles had ever eaten, knowing that he’d be practically inhaling it in anticipation.
He pulled away, moving to the other side of the counter to check on the pot roast in the oven, feeling Derek’s eyes roving over him.
Oh yeah. Dinner would be quick.
They’d eaten in record time and Stiles may or may not have been keeping track.
“Leave the dishes.” He reached out for Derek, his finger slipping into Derek’s belt loop, tugging Derek close.
Stiles didn't hesitate as he pressed their lips together, melting into the heat of Derek’s body. He whimpered against his lips as Derek’s hands found his hips. God, Stiles had been wanting this. Needing this.
He’d never needed anyone as much as he needed Derek right now that he was so overwhelmed with it.
“Fuck, I need you,” Stiles breathed, nipping at Derek’s lips and pressing his hips against Derek’s, letting him feel how hard he already was.
Derek’s hands slid over Stiles’ ass, rocking him against him. “Need to get to the bedroom before I fuck you right here over the counter.”
A needy sound fell from Stiles’ lips, his arms wrapping around Derek’s neck. “I wouldn't say no to that but we really need lube.”
Derek chuckled. “Definitely.” He kissed down Stiles’ neck, leaving gentle bites as he gripped and squeezed Sitles’ ass. “Hold onto me,” he whispered against Stiles’ skin.
And then Derek was gripping him firmly and lifting him, taking Stiles by surprise, which made him laugh. He moaned softly, his legs wrapping around Derek as his lips trailed along any skin he could reach.
“Are you going to brave the stairs while holding me?” Stiles teased, his grin mischievous as Derek carried him.
Derek looked dubious when they reached the bottom of the stairs, which only furthered Stiles’ amusement.
“If you drop me, you’ll regret it,” Stiles teased and Derek laughed nervously.
“Well, then I guess I better not drop you.” Derek kissed him briefly, a promise of more, and then they were ascending the stairs. Not that Stiles actually thought Derek would drop him. He did carry full-grown men for a living. And it was so fucking hot.
Stiles’ hands never stopped moving, needing to touch Derek, his legs squeezed tight around Derek’s waist. “Mmmm, okay, okay. My room,” Stiles motioned with the tip of his chin.
Derek took direction well, carrying Stiles to the door and Stiles’ hand reached behind him to twist the knob, letting them both in.
Stiles was just as reluctant as Derek seemed as Derek set him down, but their hands never left each other. Their fingers were frantic as they practically ripped each other’s clothes off, their lips kissing over exposed skin until they were both naked.
When Stiles felt the bed behind him, he sat down, his hands gripping Derek’s hips as he buried his face against the base of Derek’s dick. Derek groaned, his fingers threading into Stiles’ hair. “Fuck, Stiles. You make me so fucking hard.”
Stiles breathed deeply, taking in Derek’s musky scent, and rubbed his cheek against Derek’s cock as if he were marking him as his. Only his. “God, I need to taste you.”
“Fuck yeah. Please,” Derek breathed, sounding as desperate as Stiles felt. Stiles wasted no time drawing back just enough to draw Derek’s cock into his mouth, laving the head with his tongue and teasing it into Derek’s foreskin.
Derek groaned above him, his grip tightening in Stiles’ hair. It only made Stiles’ dick harder, precome leaking against his thigh, swallowing Derek down like he couldn't get enough. He was drunk on the taste of Derek, his skin feeling like it was on fire.
“Stiles—”
Derek tugged against Stiles’ hair and he whined as he let Derek’s cock fall from his mouth with a filthy sound. “You okay?” he panted.
“Yeah, fuck. I need—” Derek didn't finish his sentence as he dipped down and captured Stiles’ lips in a kiss. Stiles understood Derek’s need as it burned through him, licking into Derek’s mouth as they kissed fervently. He scooted back onto the bed, Derek following him down until he was pressing Stiles into the mattress with the weight of his body.
Stiles whimpered as Derek leaned down, kissing across his chest, and captured Stiles’ nipple between his lips. “Mmmm, god, Derek. I need—I need you to fuck me. I want you inside of me.”
They’d never discussed sex dynamics, but Stiles never thought Derek would deny him anything. He needed Derek like he needed to breathe and he knew Derek felt the same.
“Whatever you want,” Derek breathed, kissing across Stiles’ chest to give Stiles’ other nipple the same attention. “But first…I want to taste you too.”
Derek tilted his head up, kissing Stiles again, slower and deeper which sent a shiver down Stiles’ spine. His hand slid between them, gently stroking Stiles’ cock and brushing across the head teasingly.
“Mmm, yeah?” Stiles breathed, feeling Derek’s fingers slicken with his precome.
Derek released Stiles’ cock, his hand dipping between Stiles’ legs to stroke and tug at his balls. “I want to taste you… here,” he replied just as his fingers pressed between Stiles’ asscheeks to brush over his hole.
“Oh, fuck,” Stiles moaned, his dick twitching at the thought of Derek licking his hole. He pressed against Derek’s fingers, needing more.
“Yeah, yeah. Okay, okay.” Stiles kissed Derek, needy and wet before he pulled away and rolled over, Derek’s hands running along his back and thighs as he settled. He could feel Derek shift on the bed, feel the heat of his body sliding down his side and the weight of Derek settle on his thighs.
Stiles arched his back, raising his ass as Derek gripped his cheeks and spread them. He couldn't move with Derek’s chest lying across his thighs and he groaned as Derek pressed his face flush to him, wasting no time teasing.
Derek’s mouth was hot and wet, his tongue demanding as he licked and sucked against Stiles’ hole until he pressed in and Stiles’ hole fluttered open. Stiles cried out in pleasure, his fingers twisting into the bed sheets when Derek fucked him with his tongue. He was relentless, filthy sounds falling from Derek’s lips, Stiles’ ass getting sloppy wet with Derek’s saliva.
“Derek—Derek—” Stiles begged, but he wasn't sure if he was begging for Derek to keep going or to stop. Stiles just wanted. “Derek, please—”
Stiles swore it sounded like Derek growled, but his mind was so fuzzy with his arousal that all he could do was focus on Derek’s hands and mouth. “I need—” Stiles whined.
Derek drew back with a wet sound, giving Stiles’ hole one more sloppy kiss before his fingers rubbed over it.
“Where’s the lube?” Derek asked, voice rough with desire. “Need to open you up for me.”
Fuck.
“Nightstand,” Stiles sighed out, the sound desperate as Derek pulled away and kneeled, leaning over to open the nightstand and fished out the lube. “Do you—want me like this?”
“On your back.” Derek closed the drawer and sat back on his calves as Stiles rolled over. “I want to see your face.”
Just Derek admitting that sent heat coursing through him and straight to his dick. God, if he could get wet from being so turned on, he’d be sopping with it. Stiles’ thighs fell open unashamedly, exposing himself to Derek. He reached down to grip his own cock, stroking it lazily, watching Derek open the lube and squeeze some onto his fingers.
Derek’s fingers were so much thicker than his, and fuck, it was so hot. “Derek—”
“I’ve got you,” Derek promised, leaning in to kiss Stiles thoroughly.
Stiles gasped, then groaned when three of Derek’s fingers pushed into him. He loved the feeling of Derek fucking him open, stretching him for his cock. And fuck, Stiles was so close to coming already it should be embarrassing, but he wasn't.
“I don't want to wait,” Stiles panted against Derek’s lips. “Mmm, fuck, I need you.”
“Yeah, okay.” Derek kissed him once more before pulling his fingers free and then slicked his cock.
“Nuh-uh,” Stiles grinned, pushing his hand against Derek’s chest. “You’re going to lay back and let me ride you until you’re filling me with your come. And I’m going to get every bit of it I can from your gorgeous cock.”
The sound that fell from Derek’s lips was debauched in the best way as he rolled onto his back, his eyes following Stiles hungrily. “I’m all yours.”
Derek stroked his cock, getting it nice and slick as Stiles crawled into his lap still kissing him.
“C’mere,” Stiles whispered against Derek’s lips, still grinning. His fingers circled around Derek’s cock, holding it as he settled into Derek’s lap. “God, you’re so thick.”
He didn't wait for Derek to respond before he pressed Derek’s cock to his already fluttering hole and then sank onto him, his head dropping back in pleasure. Stiles didn't take Derek in slowly, groaning as he stretched himself on Derek’s cock, the feeling of Derek’s fingers gripping his hips so hard that he’d have bruises later being the only thing keeping him grounded.
“Jesus—fuck—” Stiles gasped as Derek bottomed out, his hands pressing to Derek’s chest as he leaned down to kiss him.
“Fuck, Stiles, You’re so tight,” Derek hissed, his hands urging Stiles’ hips to roll.
Stiles laughed softly. “Well, it’s been a while. But I can promise you it’ll never be that long again.” He raised his hips just enough to feel Derek’s cock drag against his prostate, which had him mewling.
Derek’s arms wrapped around him and Stiles groaned into Derek’s mouth, swallowing the sounds Derek gave him as they moved. He fucked himself languidly on Derek’s cock, taking his time to feel each and every thrust, their hips moving in counterpoint. Every snap of Derek’s hips had Stiles whimpering with abandon until he gave up trying to keep his rhythm, his fingers digging into Derek’s arms as he held on.
Their needy, desperate sounds and the slap of skin against skin were the only things that filled the room, words having fallen away as they focused on the feeling of each other. Stiles couldn't feel anything other than Derek. Nothing else existed other than them in this moment, together. Stiles felt his chest swell with warmth as Derek’s hips started to stutter, Stiles’ lips brushing and pressing against Derek’s more than kissing him now. He couldn't catch his breath as the base of his spine started to tingle and —
Suddenly Stiles cried out, clutching Derek close, his ass squeezing and then pulsing around Derek’s cock as he came hard, dick spurting between them. He keened with unrestrained gratification, even as Derek tensed under him and fucked them through both of their orgasms. He faintly made out the needy, guttural sounds beneath him as Stiles collapsed on top of Derek, chest heaving and mind swimming in fire.
“Derek—” Stiles panted, unable to raise his head to kiss Derek like he wanted to.
“I’ve got you,” Derek promised, arms circling around Stiles as his hands smoothed up and down Stiles’ back. “I’m right there with you.”
They lay like that together for some time, lost in the aftermath, unwilling to let the rest of the world back in. Stiles only gave an unhappy sound as he felt Derek’s dick start to soften and slip out of him, already missing the feeling of his soulmate sharing his body.
“Don't wanna move,” Stiles whispered.
Derek kissed the top of his head, his hand trailing down until Stiles felt Derek’s finger pressing between his cheeks and stroking over his used hole, fingering his come back into Stiles. “Don't have to. We have all weekend.”
“Mmm, good.” Stiles turned to press kisses along Derek’s chest, enjoying the feeling of Derek’s fingers lazily fucking him. It was hard to describe how he felt, but he knew he’d never felt so complete before. “I love you, so much.”
“I love you too, Stiles.” Derek’s free hand stroked through Stiles’ hair, practically petting him down. “Until the day we’re no longer here and into the next life. That’s what soulmates are… and I’ll always find you.”
“And I’ll wait for you,” Stiles promised. “However long it takes. Forever.” His smile was loopy and content as he turned his face up to kiss Derek. “Mmmm, but I think I want—”
Derek’s smile was bright as he laughed, curling his fingers inside of Stiles until Stiles moaned. “You’re insatiable,” Derek teased.
“Get used to it.” Stiles grinned and nipped Derek’s lip. “After all, we have forever, right? Are you ready for that?”
“Always.”
It was a promise that Stiles intended to keep, always and forever, no matter how many lifetimes they spent together. Their love could span the universe. They were soulmates. And it was all that Stiles would ever need to make his soul complete.
Chapter 6
Three years later.
Derek rubbed his eyes, smiling to himself as he walked downstairs, yawning. It was bright and early Christmas morning and it was their tradition that he would make everyone the best breakfast they’d had all year long. Including powdered sugar waffles covered in both Stiles and Hazel’s favorite fruits.
Strawberries and blueberries and only strawberries and blueberries. No other fruits were acceptable. Not even bananas. Derek had found that out the hard way.
He didn't know how Stiles and Hazel didn't like pancakes, but they were definitely a waffle family now and Derek didn't mind one bit. Whatever made Stiles and Hazel happy, made him happy.
Once he was in the kitchen, he hit the button on the coffee pot to brew his morning cup and dug around in the fridge, pulling out ingredients for eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, and their decadent family waffles.
In a few short hours, Hazel would be up, eager to see if Santa had visited (Stiles always bit the cookies and drank the milk while Derek stomped on the roof jingling bells after midnight, just in case Hazel was waiting up to hear them).
The base of the tree was filled to the brim with presents, but Hazel knew that they couldn't be opened until her grandparents and Aunt Laura arrived. It was a true family event, with everyone converging at the Stilinski-Hale household for every holiday.
Derek set the ingredients aside, reflecting on the last four years of his life. He glanced at his hand where a traditional gold band adorned his ring finger, the memory of their wedding day held close to his heart. It had been two years ago when they’d said I do.
Other than the day he’d met Stiles and Hazel, it had been the best day of his life, followed by the day he’d adopted Hazel and they’d become an official family.
Derek busied himself making breakfast, whipping up the batter and sipping his coffee, warmth spreading in his chest. It wasn't long before he heard Stiles coming downstairs and he grinned as Stiles’ strong arms wrapped around him from behind.
“Good morning,” Stiles said, voice rough with sleep. He kissed Derek’s shoulder and then nuzzled against the back of his neck.
“Good morning.” Derek tilted his head just enough to press a kiss to Stiles’ hair.
Stiles responded with his usual sleepy grumble and then turned a loopy smile up at Derek as he rested his chin on Derek’s shoulder. “Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday.”
“My mother really robbed me of double presents,” Derek joked. “Me and Laura.” Stiles chuckled and Derek laughed. “If we have another kid and it’s a December baby, they’re getting double presents.”
“Yeah?” Stiles asked, his fingers trailing up and down Derek’s chest. “You want another one? Hazel is 10 now… a baby might be a lot for us, but I’m game if you are.”
Derek considered that. Hazel was as much his daughter as she was Stiles’, but he had so much love to share and they had extra bedrooms, which Stiles kept reminding him about at least once a year. “I think I’m ready…do you think—”
“I can ask Lydia for an egg if she won't carry a baby for us. I know she’s working on a big research project right now, but we can always ask someone else to carry our baby for us.” Stiles trailed kisses along the back of Derek’s neck. “Plus… this way, they’ll be related to Hazel.”
Derek licked his lips, focusing on the eggs in front of him, even as Stiles hugged him closer. “You think she would?”
“I think she would. And… If you want to, I think it would be amazing if you were the biological father. I’ve been dreaming about having a little boy or girl and they look just like you,” Stiles said softly, rubbing his cheek against Derek.
Maybe they’d have a boy with Lydia’s eyes and his hair, or a little girl with his eyes and Lydia’s hair, hair that would be exactly like Hazel’s. Or it could look just like him. What if they had twins? The possibilities were endless and Derek’s mind was racing with them.
Before he could answer, a happy shriek sounded from the living room.
“Oops…” Stiles chuckled. “I guess I woke her up. My bad.”
Derek laughed. “3…2…1…”
Hazel came barreling into the kitchen shouting, “Santa came! Did you see all the presents?!”
They both laughed. Derek was surprised that Hazel still let them pretend Santa existed. Probably because she always got exactly what she asked for. They still wrote letters to Santa every year.
“Good morning, kiddo.” Stiles reluctantly let go of Derek and pulled Hazel in for a hug.
“Ew!” She fake gagged. “You probably still have Dad's cooties. Don't kiss my hair!”
Stiles let her go, laughing, even as she made a barfing noise and stuck her tongue out at him before she hugged Derek.
“Oh. I see how it is,” Stiles replied, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Well Dad makes the food,” she defended. “And he doesn't give me cooties.”
Stiles rolled his eyes as Derek returned the hug, Derek’s focus returning to making breakfast. “The both of you are ridiculous.”
“The day you think cooties are nonexistent is the day that I’m going to remind you of these moments,” Stiles told Hazel.
“Yeah, that’s not happening.” She moved away from them and opened the refrigerator, grabbing the orange juice and taking the cup Derek was already handing her before Stiles could remind her not to drink out of the carton.
“Thank you.” She went to sit on a stool at the island, pouring herself a cup. “So when is the pack going to descend on the house? Because I want to open my presents.”
Stiles snorted. “Well… they’ll probably start showing up—”
“In four hours,” Derek finished. “Isaac, Boyd, Erica, and Kira said they’d stop by too once they’re off shift. Laura has the day off so she’ll probably be here before our parents.”
“My dad will likely sleep in, even if my mom bugs him to wake up in a couple of hours. He keeps saying he’s going to retire, but I’ll believe it when I see it.” Stiles leaned against the counter as Derek put the eggs, bacon, and sausage on plates, then grabbed the waffle batter.
“Well, Grandpa is old.” Hazel’s smirk spoke volumes, especially since she loved to tease them about how old they were all getting.
“Yeah, yeah.” Stiles was shaking his head, but his face was light with happiness.
Derek smiled, looking between the two people he loved most in the world. He poured the batter into the waffle maker and closed it, turning it over and, set the bowl aside.
He wasn't sure what he did to deserve this, but he thanked whoever or whatever had given him Stiles as his soulmate and the daughter which was their world.
It was more than he could have ever dreamed of.
It was perfect.
And he could only imagine how much more it would be as their family grew with love.

that gif of glen holding the flowers is the equivalent of jake and natasha going to pick their daughter up from pre-k or kindergarten and all the moms (and honestly probably some of the dads) looking at him like 👁️🫦👁️ and he’s kind of oblivious to it as he has his daughter on his hip and nat just looks at him with a smirk 😏 she also probably kisses their daughter’s cheek and then kisses him in front of the moms
Um, yessssss 💗 Here’s a little something:
Natasha watches from the car as Jake strolls into the cluster of parents waiting to pick up their kids, a bouquet of flowers in hand for their daughter’s birthday. She doesn’t miss the heads that turn his way, the moms who suddenly huddle closer while they eye him, a few of the dads who stand straighter, chests out. Jake doesn’t seem to notice the giggles or the blushes that follow him. He’s too busy waiting to surprise Cici with her mother.
She’s been deployed for most of the school year so she’s only had a chance to meet a few of the parents. It looks like today is going to be a surprise for Cici and them.
Worried about disappointing their three-going-on-four year-old if Natasha’s deployment was extended, they hadn’t told Cici that she would be back in time for her birthday. Cici is expecting to spend the afternoon doing something special with her daddy.
The children burst through the doors and scatter to their parents. Cici practically flies to Jake who crouches to meet her. Natasha presses her knuckles to her mouth to hold back her tears watching the way her suddenly big girl throws herself into his arms. He swings her into the air, oblivious to half the mothers staring like their ovaries just burst.
Except for Jake’s eyes and a slightly lighter tint to her waves, Cici looks exactly like Natasha did at her age with her thick hair spilling out of the two braids that were neat when she left home that morning. She’s wearing her favorite unicorn dress, which Jake somehow managed to save from an orange juice mishap. Taking her cue when he turns, Natasha steps out of the car, pushing her sunglasses up into her hair.
Jake whispers something in their daughter’s ear, and her head whips around. Cici’s face lights up as soon as she sees Natasha and there’s a hint of Jake in the incandescent joy that breaks over her features. “Mama!” she shrieks, kicking her legs to be let down.
Natasha smirks as all eyes land on her and the other parents start to connect the dots. The ring on Jake’s finger belongs to her. She walks forward to claim her family.
Jake leans down with Cici still on his hip so she can put her arms around Natasha’s neck.
“Happy Birthday, bee,” Natasha murmurs, kissing her daughter’s cheek. Her eyes meet Jake’s, and she steps close enough to pull him down so she can kiss his mouth before she takes Cici from him. If he’s surprised by the gesture, he’s too eager to let it show, so happy to have his arms full with his wife and daughter and, what he doesn’t know yet, another Seresin-Trace on the way from her brief visit midway through deployment.
Cici’s much heavier than Natasha remembers when Jake hands her over, but she wouldn’t trade the weight of her daughter in her arms for anything. “You stay this time, Mama?” Cici asks solemnly before she lets herself get too excited.
Seeing her heart shatter at the innocent question, Jake rests a supportive hand between her shoulder blades.
“Yes, I’m going to stay this time,” Natasha promises. She can explain later that another deployment will come.
Cici hugs her tightly. “Daddy told me I could wish for you for my birthday! And I got it!
“Did he?” she asks, and Jake manages to make sheepish the sexiest, most adorable look in the world. Natasha decides she’s had enough fun making the other parents jealous. All she wants is to make up for the time she’s lost with her family. She starts toward the car. “What else did Daddy tell you?”
“You’re supposed to keep your wishes a secret, baby,” Jake cuts in quickly.
But Cici is on a roll now that her mama’s home. “He said that if I want a baby brother or sister he—what did you say, Daddy?”
Natasha pauses and turns, also wanting to know what he said. Jake blushes under Cici’s furrowed brows and Natasha’s raised ones. Realizing neither of them is going to relent, he lifts Cici’s flowers helplessly.
“I said I’d see what I could do to make that happen.”
She lets a slow grin spread across her face. “Cici, we might have to have a talk about being careful what you wish for.”
“Why do I have to be careful?” Cici asks as Jake’s eyes go wide and hopeful.
“I think Daddy and I should discuss that and the other things he told you that you could wish for first,” she deflects lightly with a playful kiss on Cici’s nose. “Unless he also told you to wish for ice cream.”
Cici jumps with her excitement, green eyes big and bright. “Ice cream! Can we get ice cream!”
Natasha’s answering smile feels like it will break her cheeks. “Yes, we can.”
“Daddy! We get ice cream!” Cici relays to Jake, who echoes back her excitement. At the car, Natasha sets Cici down so she can climb in herself. Jake helps her get strapped into her car seat then closes the door. They step back enough that Cici won’t be able to see them through the window. Not that she’s looking—she’s preoccupied with her flowers for now.
Natasha almost forgets they’re not alone the way Jake eyes her, gaze lingering over her breasts and abdomen.
“Commander Seresin,” a woman calls, “is that your—.”
Natasha reaches up and takes hold of his t-shirt to pull him back down to her mouth. “Looks like you’re going to have to remind everyone you’re married soon,” she murmurs against his lips.
“Later,” he grins, taking her by the hips. “For now, were you joking about Cici being careful about what she wishes for or…did we already grant that wish?”
“I was going to tell you later but since she brought it up—.”
He doesn’t let her finish, kissing her for all the parents to see. Natasha doesn’t mind. In fact, she enjoys it.

E.B.-sitter 2
Once again, the adults decided to all go out together. That meant, once again, E.B. was being trusted to watch all the kids. And this time, she had five to maintain.
She had her paper and crayons ready for Terry. She had cartoons ready for Junior and Molly. But Jenny and Mikaela were new, so what kept them entertained would take trial and error.
So far, the only upside involving Mikaela was that she’s still too little to play any games. E.B. was told by Melanie that Mikaela usually rests all day and the most she’d do is coo or giggle; maybe even ask for a hug.
-
“If Mikaela asks for a hug, make sure you give it to her. Otherwise she’ll be really upset”, Melanie warned.
“I get it. My brother used to be that way”, E.B. says.
“At least you have a precedent set. Good luck, E.B.”
-
Terry sat at the coffee table drawing pictures. He definitely improved from the discernible scribbles he used to make. E.B. was genuinely impressed with how much better he’d gotten.
Guy Jr. was also really happy that he had so many playmates at his house. He wanted to make the most out of their visit. So, he jumped off the couch.
“Junior!”, E.B. exclaimed in shock. “Be careful!”
“Yes, Sissy!”, he replied. And he continued to walk away.
In the meantime, Molly was still seated next to E.B. Seeing Junior running around, she giggled loudly. Then she reached forward.
“Come on, Molly”, E.B. groaned. “At least watch TV with me!”
Little Molly had her own agenda though. She reached forward, in Junior’s direction. So far forward that she rolled off the couch, her ribbon falling off her head, and landed on her bottom.
So many things raced through the little girl’s head when that happened: Oh, the humiliation!, Owie!, Junior, I just wanted to play with you! and Why didn’t you save me, E.B.?! The poor thing started crying. Mikaela instinctively began to mimic her older cousin. Jenny swiftly joined in.
E.B. groaned and put her head in her hands. “Please don’t cry, everyone! I’m sorry, Molly!” She picked her up, holding her close. “Please stop crying”, the teen requested calmly, “or your mom and dad won’t let me look after you anymore.” Still supporting her with one hand, the teen slipped Molly’s headband back on.
Jenny tapped E.B.’s knee, her own eyes bloodshot. “It’s okay, Jenny. I see you too.”
Surprisingly, Terry and Junior didn’t lose their cool when the girls started crying; maybe because they were the older ones. Instead, Junior jumped back onto the couch and hugged Molly along with E.B. Terry was finishing up his drawing, which consisted of himself, Mikaela, their parents and their grandfather standing in a meadow on a sunny day.
“Mm-hm”, he muttered.
“What’chu got there, Terry?”, E.B. asked. She puts Molly back on the couch and walks over to the coffee table. She picks up his drawing and takes a good look at it. “Wow! Looks great!” Although she had to ask: “What about Grandma Pam and Grandpa Grinch?” The boy shrugged, muttering something like ‘I dunno’.
On the couch, Junior and Molly were looking at Mikaela, still in her carrier. She had her eyes open very lazily. She barely perked up upon seeing the other two. At the opposite end of the couch, Jenny looked envious.
“Hello, Mikaela!”, Junior greeted her. He waved too; Molly mimicked his action.
“Umm, Junior?”, his sister targeted him with her question, “I think she’s getting tired.” Then spared a cursory glance at Jenny. She laughed a little at how envious she was being. It reminded her of how Junior would behave whenever he saw her show affection for anyone else. “Why don’t you and Molly hang out with Jenny?”
“Okay, Sissy!” He slowly hobbled across the couch to Jenny, Molly crawling right after him.
Mikaela, noticing that they left, whimpered sadly. At first, E.B. didn’t notice. Then, Mikaela reached upwards. She still went unnoticed. She flailed her arms vigorously. Her whimpering got a hair louder. Finally, E.B. looked at what was going on.
“Oh! Mikaela! Your mom told me this would happen! Don’t worry!” She stood up and picked the infant up, hugging her. “See? I’m here for you!”
Junior was too preoccupied to notice his sister’s empathy for another, so he didn’t complain this time.
Despite sitting and watching TV, Jenny wasn’t quite entertained enough. She promptly slid off the couch and crawled over to E.B., tugging the hem of her skirt.
The teen looks down. “One sec, Jenny.”
Literally one second later, the magenta child tugged her skirt again.
“Hold on. At least let me set Mikaela down again.” And she does so. Then she squats to be eye level with Jenny. “What do you want?” Jenny puts her hands up. “You want a hug too? I got you!”
“And me!”, Terry demanded. That was the loudest and most expressive he’d ever been as far as E.B. knew him.
E.B. felt like she was a witch and her hugs were how she used magic. And her signature spell seemed to be happiness for the children. Perhaps she should make this a regular job…
Nah. This would be too much for her to handle if it was twenty or so kids and not five.
And so, she did what she did last time: turned the radio on and played a fun song. This time: All Shook Up.
The boys danced on their own. Molly excitedly hit her palms against the couch cushion. Jenny clapped. Mikaela giggled. Just like last time, E.B. took turns dancing with each of them. Many more laughs were shared.
They later chilled out with a jigsaw puzzle. It was a custom one made by Michellee and Guy as a birthday present: the picture was a Chickeraffe; Mr. Jenkins to be exact, with E.B. herself on his back, Guy and Sam on one side and Michellee on the other (everyone else had their heads pasted on the borders). When Junior had his face filled in, he exclaimed “That’s me!”
Before the last pieces were added, E.B. grew drowsy and passed out.
Not too long after, the adults finally got back. They saw E.B. asleep on the floor again, the kids all around her.
“Looks like she did it again”, Michellee complimented quietly.
Pam and Grinch scooped up Jenny. Sam and Gluntz took Molly. Melanie and Jack grabbed Terry and Mikaela, as well as Terry’s drawings.
Finally, Michellee picked up Junior and carried him to his room. Guy took E.B. and carried her to her room.
“You did a good job again, sweetie”, he whispered to her

Lucky.
A little thing to try and work out Tabitha and Colm’s relationship, its a bit rough but its something.
The night was bright, the air warm, the sound of music and laughter was carried on the pleasant breeze, A party was happening in the camp, a rare sight indeed, but one which was deserved, a victory, another planet saved, another job well done.
Tabitha Basteel sat a fair distance away from the main party and sipped her tea. She'd been working for almost two days straight in the hospital, and was ordered to take time off, but even now sitting here she couldn’t make herself tired.
The breeze carried the smell of sweetness towards her and she smiled, she knew the smell of a cigar when she smelt it.
“Colm..”
Colonel Colm Corbec was a prime example of the men of Tanith, he was big and brawny, with frazzled graying hair and a beard you could hide a lasgun in, his arms bore the swirly blue tattoos of his homeworld and he usually had a cigar clenched between his teeth, he looked imposing but underneath it all he was a gentle, caring man.
“Tabby cat.”
He sat next to her with a sigh “How are you?”
“Tired..”
To emphasize her point Tabitha rested her head on Colm’s shoulder, he smiled and stroked her hair, brushing a strand away from her face.
“You need to look after yourself, you're no use to anyone when you’re dead on your feet.”
Tabitha smiled, “You sound like My Father.”
“Old enough to be..”
“Not this again Colm..”
She sat up straight and put the cup of tea on the floor next to her feet, she then took Colm’s cigar from his mouth.
“I’ve told you before, I don’t care about the age difference between us..”
She went to kiss him but he moved away, his bushy eyebrows furrowing
“It ain’t right for a pretty young thing to be with a deadbeat old man like me.”
“Colmy..”
She dropped the cigar, ironically it landed in her tea with a plop.
“Don’t.”
She cupped his face, she always loved the feeling of his beard
“Come on Tabs, What prospects do I have? I’m an old man…in a career where not many men get that luxury.” He placed one of his big hands on top of hers “And you’ve got a family back home who’ll want kids and a husband from you, not some backwater trash like me.”
“I have seven brothers and sisters, That's enough husbands, wives and children for anyone..”
Before he could protest further, she kissed him, soft and loving, she could never in a thousand hours of sitting here describe to him just how much she did love him, he was an anchor in the rocky waters around them, even after hours in the hospital, hours of blood and death, Tabitha knew that Colm would come visit, and offer her a cup of recaf or a cake bar he’d “Found”
“I love you, You great bushy bearded bastard..”
He smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling
“Such language Nurse Basteel..”
“I spend too much time with this Colonel.”
“Oh you do, do ya?”
“Yes, he’s so handsome I let it slide..”
“Well, lucky him.”

Marriage. 112
Chapter 112: The Kai’s Planet
I was in the middle of clearing the new field, when I sense Goten closing in. That’s weird. Shouldn’t he be in school? When I asked that he said it was Sunday. Well that makes sense. It made me a bit sad that Goten had left, after lunch. But he was on his own little mission. That boy is something else. I hope he finds the perfect gift for Videl. The rest of the day went well.
When Goten came back, and told me everything, I couldn’t be any prouder. “You did a good job Goten.” We were about to call it a day, when Hercule showed up. He went on about saving the world, and stuff. Saving the world? It’s been years since Buu. Unless he’s talking about when Vegeta’s kid brother visit. That was a funny day. Then he talked about giving me this whole suit case of money. “Hold up! You can’t be serious! I can’t take that. That’s a lot.” It just doesn’t feel right. It took Goten to convince me to take the money. It felt wrong, but if Goten is right, Chichi will be happy.
On the way home, I’m thinking over how I would tell her. Goten did point out a few other things. With this I could train off planet, maybe. But this is too much. When we get home, I’m about to walk away. How can I go through with this? No amount of training is worth this. The fact Chichi lets me train to begin with is a bless, that I don’t want to ruin. Goten has to pull me inside. My own body is telling me to run, but it’s too late. I have to do this. Ok, it’s for Chichi. If she say yes to the training, that’s a bonus. But most importantly, Chichi will be happy.
She said YES! She didn’t even give me a time limit. She at least wants me to visit. Before I leave, I notice a fancy letter on the table. I asked her what’s that. “Oh, an invitation to Bulma’s birthday in two months. If you can, could you make sure to come that day?” I told her I’ll try my best to remember. I give her a quick kiss, and ruffle Goten’s hair, before I left.
The moment we got to our cabin, I finally felt relieved I could get out of this dress. Gohan even looked ready to get out his suit, but for a whole different reason. Telling from the way he’s looking at me. I’m starting to worried if he’ll break my dress. Since we been together, he went from nervous reck to well. I looked back at him, and he just finished taking off his tie. “Is something wrong, Videl?” I shake my head. This is probably just the whole after wedding jitters. As I watched him hang his coat, I can’t help feel lucky. Even though we done sex plenty of times, this just has a different vibe to it.
Gohan just looks so comfy in pretty much everything he wears. When he drops his dress shirt, it lands with a loud thump. “Gohan, seriously! You really went out your way to even get that weighted?” He was nervously smiling, while rubbing behind his neck.
“No. I just happen to have a lining on a few places.” I walked over to him, and wrap my arms around his neck.
“You’re silly. Can’t go a day without any weights.”
“That’s not true. I don’t wear any on the weekends.” I could feel his hands rubbing my sides. “Do I get to undress you first, or you’ll do me?” I slap his chest, playfully, and walk away. I quickly grab my bag, and tell him to wait for me in the bedroom. Also, for him to still be dress. I head to the restroom, and change into the outfit of our first valentine’s day. When I walk into the bedroom, his mouth just drops. As I walk over to the bed, his full attention is on me.
“You know the rules. No touching, and no talking.” I saddle his lap, and held on to his shoulders. “Did you enjoy the wedding?” He nods his head. “Me too.” I pushed him to lay on his back. I started to slowly undo his belt, and taking it out of the belt loops. I place the belt to the side, and began to unbutton his pants, then unzipper them. Using the belt, I loop it at the back of his neck, to pull him up me. I kiss his lips, and like a good boy, he doesn’t kiss back. I get off his lap, and pull on the belt. He comes forward, and is on his knees, in front of me. I place a leg over his shoulder, and raise my skirt. “Eat.”
I could feel his tongue working me to a slow burn. I grab hold of his hair, and grind against his face. This feels so good. I can’t help use my other hand to play with one of my breasts. He’s working me to where I feel I’m so close. The moment I feel that wonderful release, I get off his shoulder and face. He’s licking his lips, and looking right at me. Such a good boy. I use a finger, to pull him up by his chin, and then push him to the bed. I finally pull down his pants and boxers, and watch that lovely piece of meat announce itself to the world.
Now I’m the one on my knees, as I get between his legs. I take out my fingerless leather gloves, from my shirt pocket. After I put them on before I took his staff in my hands. I started to lick him up and down, before I started to suck on his balls, while my hand worked him. I even hand a finger going in him. I bit and nibble his balls, before working my way up to his tip. I swirl my tongue around him, before taking him in my mouth. I’m racking my teeth every time I came up, and squeezed his balls as I went down. The moment I stick a second finger in him, he came all in my mouth. It leaves him panting. I soon crawl my way up his chest, and lay on top of him. I kiss his chin, before I kiss my way to his lips. I lick them, demanding entrance. Like a good boy he grants it to me. As I try to end the kiss, his lips follow me. He’s so silly.
After the honeymoon, come to find out Videl’s dad built us a home. So, we were just in the process of moving our things in. When I told Bulma this, she was so happy she could sell the apartment. I also tried telling her how I’ll pay her back, but she insisted it was fine. Once me and Videl was fully moved in, we had to go back to work and studying. But at least we have each other, so, it wasn’t that bad. We’re officially a married couple, and that made us so happy. She also mention how she only have two more shots, and she’ll be completely off birth control. There’s really no rush to things, so I didn’t mind.
Videl was working on a novel, and everything seem right with the world. Her dad would sometimes visit, which was nice, when I was at work. Sometimes even mom would visit. Usually when Goten was at school, and dad at the fields. It was nice. Then came a surprising, but not so surprising, news that dad went to King Kai’s to train. “But your father did say he’ll try making it for Bulma’s birthday. Are you two coming?”
“Yeah. I’m off that day. So, it wouldn’t be a problem.” The rest of the visit was nice. Even when mom tried to take over Videl’s kitchen. That was funny. Mom will always be mom. “Mom, you’re a guess. You can just relax.” The face she gave almost seem like I stabbed her in the heart. “Mom.”
“I know, I know. I’m sorry. Just can’t help it, you know.” We both smiled, and made small chat.
“YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! What makes you think that I would let you train on my planet? Especially after what you did to us! And you don’t even try to revive us either! So, scram, GOKU!”
“Come on King Kai. Please. Besides, the last I check earth’s dragon balls can only revive people within a year time frame. So, it would be impossible to revive you now. And does it even matter, since you live here anyway.” He kept hitting my head, and yelling how it does matter. Something about it being the principle of the matter. “Look, I’ll ask Dende to see if he had changed that rule. So, can you stop screaming at me.” He agrees and I quickly head to Dende. Turns out during the seven years, after my death, he was playing around with the dragon’s powers. So, now it can do a revive, and doesn’t matter when the person died. Good to know. I tell King Kai this, and I promised that the next time we use the dragon balls, I’ll wish him, Bubbles, and Gregory back.
“Well, since we got that settled, there is one more thing you have to do.” Oh great, it’s this one. Let’s see if I could come up with a good one. What was it that Goten said?
“Why are eggs not very much into jokes?”
“Why?”
“Because they could crack up.” King Kai started laughing a storm, and said I could stay and train. Awesome.
“Wait!” I looked back at him worried. “When did you lose weight? Also, I hope you really don’t plan to train in that. You look like you’re going on a safari than actually training.”
“One, maybe. Two, could you help me out then?” He snickered before he gave me a track suit. Time to get some heavy training time in. As time goes by, I’m starting to feel like my old stuff again. Not like I wasn’t myself, just strength wise, I’m feeling better. Feeling my muscles being worked to the limit. My lungs burning as I try to reach the end of my set. I’m even able to carry 10 times more than before I was revived a second time. At the end of every training session I was high on the adrenaline rush, and wanting to push myself even further. I did make sure to take plenty of breaks, which was usually me eating and sleeping. Thanks to having a wallet with my family pictures, it was easier to sleep, being so far from home. Especially since I could look at a picture of my Chichi before I fell asleep.
I was reaching the end of the month, and wondering if I should take a day or two off. I been working really hard, so, it’ll be ok to take a small break. I let King Kai know, and quickly pop behind my Chichi. Lucky for me, it was almost bed time, and she was alone in our room. “Goku, you know how much I hate that.”
I hug her, and bury my nose in her neck. “Sorry. So, is everything ok? I don’t sense Goten home.”
“He’s sleeping over Bulma’s today. Goku, stop it.” She giggles, as I spin her around, and land a kiss on her forehead. “You hungry?” I shake my head, and carry her. I take her in to the bathroom with me, and she tells me that she already took a shower. “Don’t give me that—” I kiss her. Not only did I not end up deep in my wife, as we showered, I had her again in our bed. It felt good to be home. As we snuggled, Chichi reminded me that Bulma’s birthday was coming up. “In about another week. Please come.”
“What day?”
“It’s a Friday. Next Friday. She’s having this bingo tournament, and it’ll be so nice to win as a family.” I told her I’ll try my best to remember. “I mean it, Goku.”
“I know, I know. Are you making pancakes tomorrow?” She giggles, and says she’ll think about it. “What about bacon and eggs?” She slaps my arms, and tells me to go to sleep. “But I want to know. Hey! You smell like apple pie. Did you?”
“Yes.” I got up from the bed, and was making my way to the door. “Goku. Put some boxers on, and you better leave me a slice.” I quickly head to get a pair of boxers, and rush out the room. My Chichi’s apple pies are the best. I cut out a slice for her, and eat the rest. Yum. Always has an extra kick after having my wife in my mouth. Best combination ever. When I get back to bed, she ask if I made sure to leave her a slice. I tell her I did, and that I wish I could have more. “There was more yesterday, but that’s you’re fault for missing out. Now, get some sleep.” We shared a quick kiss. “Love you.”
“Love you, too.”
Oh, my sweet Goku came home. Even if was for a short while, it still felt nice. He even said he’ll try his best to come to Bulma’s party. He also seems so happy. Plus, his muscles were feeling really tight. Guess he’s getting a good workout at King Kai’s. That’s good to know. Since he’s been gone, I tried to take care of the field myself. It’s not that bad, if it wasn’t for the evidence of his sneaky training. Thankfully I just had to worry about weeding. It should begin raining soon, so he’s going to have to stay, the next time he comes home. He needs to get back to work.
My dear husband isn’t going to get away that easily. That money is going to Goten’s college funds, and as backup. But my husband still needs to work. I finally got him to do so, and I’m not letting him slip. Bulma’s birthday was just around the corner, and no word from Goku. Why do I even bother sometimes? As I work on the fields today, I spot something under a nearby tree. It’s just a shiny rock.
Once I had Goten ready, I quickly got ready myself. I do feel a bit sad that Goku still hasn’t shown. I really shouldn’t be surprised. He’s probably so into training he probably forgot. That man is just so forgettable sometimes. The party was going well, till these strange people came. Who knew Vegeta had friends? And Vegeta sure acting weird. Almost as if he’s scared. This can’t be happening. It was such a wonderful day, now the earth is in danger, again.
Everything was going so perfect. My husband was alive again. My eldest son started his own life. Everything was so peaceful. But something just had to come up. My sons thrown into another fight right before my eyes. There’s just no winning, is there? In a way, I’m glad Goku did keep training Goten. Even glad he still trained. But this is ridiculous. And all this person wants is to fight some guy we never heard about. If he doesn’t, he’ll destroy our home. We were finally at peace, and this happens.
Wow. My husband reached a new form. It’s actually kind of cool. Watching the fight was both terrifying, and exciting. Once the fighting was over, that guy warned he might return. Once everything is settled, we’re left thinking what’s next. Also, after the whole shock of the matter died down, Gohan and Videl officially announce they were expecting parents. Everyone couldn’t stop congratulating them. Even my Goku couldn’t stop hugging them, and saying how happy he was for them. Today started on a good note, had a rocky middle, and ended on a high note.
On the way home, Goku and I couldn’t stop cheering how our baby is going to have a baby. Goten even joined in the cheering spirit. Once we settled Goten to bed, Goku just wouldn’t stop hugging me. When we entered our room, is when the nagging thoughts of the day came rushing in. I then flipped Goku on his back, and started screaming where was he. He looked completely lost as he got back up. I kept trying to hit him, as he tried to keep my arms at my side. “I’m sorry. Chichi, calm down. I’m sorry.” I felt the tears sliding down my face. The moment Goku let go, I punched him in the face. “Ow. Chichi, what was that for?”
“Where the hell were you, Goku? If this was a normal birthday, I could forgive you about not showing up. But this wasn’t! I was scared! You wasn’t around! The boys had to fight! Vegeta wasn’t even enough! Goku!” He kept looking down, and didn’t say anything. “Goku, speak to me! What happened?”
He finally looked at me, and there was fear written all over his face. “I don’t know what happened, ok. When I remembered about Bulma’s party, I was going to come. But King Kai was at first saying how I shoulder. Then he started panicking and saying I should. It was a huge mess, ok. Then that Beerus guy came, we had a quick match. By that you could say he gave me the run around, and then beat me with 2 hits.” Goku looked very chagrin by that fact. For someone who prides himself in giving his all, and not being taken down easy. The fact someone outmatched him in two moves must feel humiliating.
I couldn’t help to hug my husband. “It’s ok. It’s ok.” I felt him hug me tighter. “You’re still my big strong husband to me.”
“Thanks. But hey.” I looked up at him, and he was smiling. “Our Gohan is going to be a daddy. And you look lovely today.” I couldn’t help smile at that.
Oh crap! I almost forgot today is Bulma’s birthday. I should really go. She’ll kill me if I don’t. Even worse, Chichi will be mad if I don’t show. I’m telling King Kai this and he’s laughing; saying why she I care. He’s even saying I shouldn’t even go. If he thinks I shouldn’t than I shouldn’t argue. I was working on my second rep when King Kai, panicking, tells me never mind and should go. What’s the big deal? He starts panicking more, before he says how it’s too late. He then tells me to hide in his home, and to not come out for any reason. As I’m hiding, I peak through the window.
Out of nowhere, two people are standing front of King Kai. He’s bowing and talking very nervous. I can’t hear well what they are saying. The tall one looked my way. Can he tell I’m looking? I go down, and hope he didn’t notice me. When I look back up, he’s shaking his head. He’s now speaking to King Kai, and pointed at the house. King Kai is sweating a lot, as he calls out to me. Guess I’m going to find out who these people are.
As I step out, I notice the cat-like person is looking at me weird. I say a very friendly hi, and King Kai punches my side. Saying that’s not how I greet a god. A god? Who’s the god? He points at the cat and says he’s Lord Beerus, God of Destruction. “Oh, I’m sorry.” I then politely, bow as I say. “It’s a great honor to meet you Lord Beerus.” Wouldn’t Chichi be proud that I finally got that right. Lord Beerus walks up to, and is poking at me. He mumbles something about a super sayian god, whatever that is. He then flat out ask me if I know what that is. “I never heard of such a thing. Is it even real?” He doesn’t look happy with my answer.
He tells the other person how this is a waste of his time. As they about to leave, I asked King Kai a little about them. He tells me that Lord Beerus is one of the strongest beings in the universe. Stronger than Buu and Cell combine. That actually got me excited. I quickly ask if I could have a moment. King Kai is trying to stop me. I ask this Lord Beerus if it would be possible to have a quick match. That I’m curious about his strength. He at first doesn’t look interested, but the person next to him is smiling. That person tells him that he should at least humor me. How it might lead to some interesting results. I have a strange feeling about this now.
As I get ready to face off, I feel a strange tingle going along my spine. I don’t like this. I start at my base form, and he seems unfazed by me. I keep powering up and attacking, but still nothing. I go into super sayian 3 and he’s still about to block all my moves with a single finger. What is the world is going on? I have long realized I couldn’t sense anything coming off him. If I wasn’t looking at him, I wouldn’t even known he was here. I’m putting everything I got into this little… Is it even a fight anymore? I’m completely outclassed. But he hasn’t laid a finger on me. That’s what’s really getting me mad. I could stand being outclassed, if the person was actually fighting back. I can’t with this. “Why won’t you fight back! Is defending all you’re good at? How sad. At least give me something.”
“You sure about that, sayian?” I tell him I’m sure. He then smirks. “Maybe a little demotion would put an end to this pathetic excuse of a fight.” At that moment I felt the blood drain form my face. He moved so fast I didn’t get a chance to blink. He flicked me back, before he broke my shoulder. That pain was felt throughout my whole left side of my body. I couldn’t move. I was left in complete agonizing pain, that I didn’t know what to do with myself. I never felt pain like this before. I felt broken ribs, a beam shooting through me, my heart feeling like it was being squeezed to death, feeling my heart completely stop, being explode and burned to bits, but nothing came close to this. This pain made me wish it killed me. This pain left me feeling like all my strength is nothing.
Once King Kai healed me, I rushed to earth. That Beerus guy said he was going there next. I have to make sure my family is safe. When I got to earth, I kept a close eye. Maybe I could find out his weakness. Wow, Vegeta was able to land a few blows on him, and I couldn’t. Now my sons and Trunks are facing him. This isn’t good. That other guy is just doing nothing, while this Beerus is hurting everyone. Oh no! He’s going to destroy the earth! I can’t let that happen! I tried talking to him, but he keeps demanding about this super sayian god. Then I thought maybe we could get him using the dragon balls.
Turns out, we could make a super sayian god. But who will it be? Surprisly, but not surprisly, everyone choose me. The whole thing didn’t work at first. Then we got the most exciting news ever. If the earth wasn’t in danger, I would top of the world over joyed. Videl is pregnant. There’s going to be another sayian. So, this ritual is going to work now. This power is incredible. Maybe it could help me defeat Beerus.
As the battle rage on, there’s a moment where it seems that I completely failed. This can’t be! Chichi. My sons. My friends. They all are counting on me. I can’t fail them. My strength returns, and I’m toe to toe with Lord Beerus again. It was looking close to an even match. Till he was unleashing an attack to blow up the earth. I surprisly was able to stop everyone. Once the fighter was over, with the promise of there might be a next time, things seem to finally calm down.
After getting an earful from Vegeta and Bulma, I was able to eat with my sons. This is when Gohan and Videl re-announce they were going to be parents. It made me so happy to settle in the fact my Gohan was going to be a daddy. My little man grew up, got married, and is now an excepting dad. I couldn’t be any prouder of that fact. They’re going to be great parents.
When me and Chichi are finally alone, do I finally let today settle. After getting flipped by Chichi, and yelled at, it wasn’t making anything better. Today was just awful. Only thing good about today was finding out our son was going to be a dad. As I laid in bed with her, my mind kept wondering about that god like power. Is doing that ritual the only way? Will I never be able to achieve it on my own? There has to be another way. Maybe one day I could find out how, but right now it’s the least of my worries.

part 2.
。☆✼★━━━━━━━━━━━━★✼☆。
Walking along the streets, you didn’t have a destination in mind. Just walking around and letting fresh air clear your fogged up brain. You had been overthinking – again. It was one of those days were you couldn’t help but think back to three years ago. Tomorrow three years ago would have been the date were you and Katsuki would have said “Yes”, but alas… it all came differently.
Running your hand through your hair, you sighed deeply.
“I need to stop thinking about this. It’s been so long! Like this, I will never be able to forget him.”
But how were you supposed to forget the love of your life? Especially when it all came so quickly and out of nowhere? One day everything was fine, the next, he was gone. And as much as you tried to find him, despite him stating in the letter you shouldn’t try, it was all in vain anyways. It’s as if Bakugou Katsuki had never existed. Even his parents, that were always very much in love with you as their son-in-law, completely ignored you and cut you off.
It was such a deep cut, even time wasn’t able to heal anything. The last three years were rough. Sleepless nights were a normal thing by now. And while media praised you for working so hard on your hero career, you just pushed yourself like that so you wouldn’t need to think about the past. Because when you were working, it all just faded away.
However, after collapsing one day, the agency forced you to take time off and so you landed in Hokkaido. Far away from the bustling streets of Tokyo, your gloomy small apartment and your work place. With nothing to do, you found yourself overthinking day and night. If you just could ask him one question.
Why?
-
Putting on his scent-blocking collar, Bakugou suddenly felt a little tugging on his t-shirt, hence he looked down. [Eye.color], big eyes stared at him and the toothy smile immediately had him smiling as well.
“Are you ready to go outside, Hiroto?”, he asked his son who looked so much like you, reminding him every day what he had done.
“MH! Can I bring Popo?”, Hiroto’s big eyes sparkled a little, making it very difficult for Katsuki to say no, hence he nodded a little.
Watching his son, it only took a few moments before he came back with his stuffed animal, it was a phoenix. Rather, it was your merchandise. It… was complicated.
“Ready to go?”
“Yeess!”
And so, Katsuki locked the door behind him, leaving to go for a walk around the block and a quick park visit.
-
Leaning against a bridge, you stared down, still pondering. If you had just acted differently, maybe you could have saved your relationship. Whatever it was you had done, it pushed him away from you and it was eating you inside to not know what the reason was.
You didn’t know how many hours you had been wandering around town, trying to stop thinking, but as always, you only thought harder the less you had to do. Hence why you decided to go back to the inn you were staying at.
After hours outside, Hiroto was tired, his plushy Popo hugged tightly against his chest as he silently walked besides Bakugou along the streets. One more time, Katsuki tried to pick his son up, “Hiro? Want me to carry you home? Aren’t you tired?”
“NHN!”, he shook his head, “Daddy is never tired when he fights the bad guys! So I am also not tired.”
Hiroto was stubborn as he kept walking besides Bakugou who was just sighing a little. It was his own fault, but he couldn’t lie to his son. Without even thinking about it, Katsuki talked about you whenever you were on TV. He didn’t know why he just couldn’t keep quiet about you being Hiroto’s father. So now, whenever you were on TV, Bakugou had to lie and say you were in another country fighting the bad guys, even though you were still in Tokyo, mere 4 hours away with the train. But Katsuki couldn’t come back. Not after he had hurt you so much. It was his decision to raise Hiroto alone. You deserved to be successful, it had been your dream. Kids just weren’t a thing you had planned for, at least not with 21.
Being caught up in his own thoughts, Bakugou didn’t see you on the other side of the street. Neither did you see him. Both of you staring ahead, thinking back to three years ago, what had been and what it could have become. However, something connected you both. You never had a chance to bond with him, was it a tradition in your alpha family to bond during the wedding night, but your connection was different. Said connection was looking up and across the street.
Hiroto just looked around tiredly when he saw someone. Someone he had seen on TV multiple times. The little boy didn’t know how many times he had wanted Katsuki to show him YouTube videos of you fighting.
“HAAAHHH!? DADDY!?”, a piercing cry came from the little one, shaking you and Katsuki awake. The latter immediately grabbing Hiroto, but.. it was too late.
“HIRO?!”, he yelled, though his son ran across the streets.
You, on the other hand, were so incredibly confused. There he was, standing literally on the other side and then there was a little child, running towards you and calling for you. Was this the “Why?” you had searched for, for so long? You couldn’t think about it when your legs moved on their own to get the kid out of a potential dangerous situation.
It was a blessing that the small town didn’t have much traffic, hence why you could easily run towards him, scoop him up and get back to the safe sidewalks in mere seconds. You didn’t want to imagine what could have happened in a busy city like Tokyo.
Then you stood there, awkwardly holding Hiroto who was crying and sobbing into your t-shirt while Katsuki’s own emotions were all over the place. The Omega had never imagined the possible chance of meeting you again. After three years, all he had built up from scratch to have a comfortable life far, far away from you, as to not disturb your career, it all broke apart.
However, Bakugou wasn’t the only one hearing something shattering, your own heart dropped into your stomach. The already broken pieces shattering more when you saw the pure horror displayed on his face. This was not how you imagined meeting him again. He hated you. You were certain of that. Whatever you had done to him, he never wanted to see you again. It all was so clear to you now it almost brought you to tears then and there.
Your inner Alpha was strongly urging you to just grab him, Katsuki was your Omega, even if you never had a chance to mark him, that’s just how it was. He was yours. But…
Slowly pushing your son away you put him into Bakugou’s arms. There were no words said, the only thing disturbing the silence was Hiroto’s sobbing. Especially when you loosened his tight grip on your t-shirt, he started squirming and screaming, trying to grab onto you more. He had seen you on TV so many times and now you were right in front of him. Yet, Hiroto had to watch when you turned around and left him behind.
You had so many questions rushing through your head, but at the same time, you couldn’t bring yourself to utter them out loud. Not after seeing Bakugou’s expression. This was never supposed to happen. Even if your heart yearned for answers, especially regarding his son… your son?
Without thinking about it, Katsuki put Hiroto down to let him run after you once again. It was such an impulse thing to do, he truly didn’t know why he had done it. Though after three years, why should he hide anymore when you had seen everything now? Also… after so long, he might have not been able to ignore his heart’s desire and yearning any longer.
It was so incredibly hard to ignore Hiroto’s crying and just walk away as if it had never happened, but for the sake of Katsuki’s happiness, you chose to go. However, a sudden tug made you stop. Looking down you saw ice around your ankles. It was weak and thin, easily breakable really. Hiroto’s? When you turned around, he had already clutched your leg tightly. Why?
When you looked back up, Bakugou also stood in front of you, his ruby eyes shimmering a little.
“Do you … want to talk?”, he finally asked, his voice breaking at the end though as he tried his hardest not to cry. What was he doing? It wasn’t like he hadn’t seen you in like three weeks, it had been YEARS since he left without any other word. Why would you even want to have anything to do with him or Hiroto?
“Yes!”, you said and it truly caught the Omega off-guard. After everything he put you through… If he was in your position he probably would have been so angry and furious, but you just seemed exhausted and tired.
But finally, you would be getting some answers.
--
All night long, you couldn’t sleep. After you had calmed down Hiroto enough, Bakugou gave you a little piece of paper with his address on it. “I work until 7. So we can talk without any disturbance.”, he said when he gave you the information. It was probably for the best. You didn’t want to imagine what would happen when your feelings would overcome you out in a café. [Your.hero.name] seen screaming in Hokkaido – you could see the news all over the internet already. So, it was probably for the best to meet him at home.
But that didn’t mean you weren’t nervous. How had your ex-fiancé been living his life the past three years? It was all exciting and scary at the same time to find out those things.
When you knocked on his door, your inner Alpha was impatiently pacing up and down. It was as nervous as you. But when the door opened and Katsuki stood there, you were sure for the first time in the last 12 hours, that it wasn’t a dream. Walking inside was heaven and hell at the same time. Everything smelled like him. The Omega’s scent was so familiar, but another one was mixed in – probably Hiroto’s.
“A friend of mine is looking after Hiroto tonight so he won’t be dragged into this.”, he said, nervously fumbling with his scent-blocking collar.
It was weird wearing it at home, but for you and himself, he had to wear it. His Omega had been going in circles ever since he met you again yesterday. It wanted to be taken and to be honest, Bakugou was also close to surrender to you. But it wasn’t that easy. You probably had so many questions.
“Oh… Yeah that’s for the best. Katsuki.”, you suddenly stopped in the middle of the hallways.
“Hm?”
“I’m sorry I can't wait, but you need to tell me now. Hiroto, he… called me Daddy and he has an ice quirk… so I am not wrong to assume that he is… our son?”
Katsuki could vividly feel your emotions, the Omega was shuddering, his throat dry and hands sweatier than usual.
“Yeah…”, was all he could choke out.
“Oh.. my God.”, you just mumbled to yourself. Hearing it out loud was like another punch in your stomach.
“Did you… leave me when you were pregnant?”, was your next question, still standing in the middle of the hallway.
However, Katsuki couldn’t even blame you. There were so many questions left unanswered.
“We were too young…”, his ruby eyes were shimmering again with tears, but he tried his best to keep them at bay.
“Too young?”, you were speechless for a moment, before looking back, “Why didn’t you tell me?! Why did you just… leave? Why… did you do everything yourself?!”
Now you were finally angry. After so long, you just couldn’t understand why he would leave you without saying anything. It could have all come differently if Katsuki would have just been honest!
“You had your career?! A baby didn’t just… fucking fit into our lifestyle! What else could I have done?!”, Bakugou yelled back. He knew it would come to this.
“SO?! You also had your career, we were both working hard to become well-known heroes so that’s not a fucking excuse. What else?? You seriously ask me?!”, you gestured wildly.
“You wouldn’t have wanted to raise a child, it was too soon!”
“It was NOT your right to decide that for me!”, you yelled, your voice breaking as tears welled up.
Bakugou once again being a little taken aback. His heart was racing and his tears so close to falling.
“You could have asked me, we could have worked it out.”, the first tears successfully fought their way out as they rolled over your cheeks.
“I loved you SO MUCH. If it was possible I would have literally brought you the stars from the sky. I would have done anything. And you? You just leave. Without anything but a letter telling me you cannot marry me. Do you have the slightest idea how I felt?”, your voice was shaking and breaking here and there, but it was freeing to finally let it all out.
“I thought it was for the best. I didn’t know what to do.“, Bakugou’s voice was so uncharacteristically weak and small.
“You didn’t know?? Did you never trust me, Katsuki? Was I just- such a horrible Alpha to you? Did you think I’d force you to an abortion? Was I not good enough to be a father?!”, you asked trying so hard not to scream, but all these pent up feelings, it all just gushed out without any sort of valve to stop yourself.
“That’s not it! I knew you wouldn’t do that, I just-“
“WHAT? Please tell me why! Why?! Why was I not worthy to be your mate? Why did you refuse to tell me and just leave?! Why did you chose raising OUR baby alone, I-“
“I DON’T KNOW, OKAY?! I don’t know! It was a fucking stupid decision out of nowhere!”, he finally screamed back, tears cascading down his face.
“Don’t you think I have regretted it? Do you think I LIKE being a single parent?! I know I fucked up. I know I threw it all away because I panicked, okay?! I just panicked and before I knew it I was on the train.”, Katsuki sobbed, desperately wiping away his tears.
“We were so fucking young! We had planned to marry, we were talking about saving up for the future to build a house, to have a family in like 10 years or more. But… But I just messed up! I forgot to take my medication before going into Heat, it was my fault I got pregnant- I… I couldn’t bring myself to tell you. Throw everything we planned out the window because I was too fucking stupid to remember.”, his voice broke horribly, being squeaky from time to time as Bakugou’s guilt just overflowed.
The Omega was shaking and instinctively, you and your inner Alpha wanted to protect him. Hence why you wiped away your tears and took a deep breath to calm yourself.
“I know I messed up. Fuck.”, he cried and yet laughed at himself. Hands buried in his hair, Bakugou just wanted to cease to exist in that moment. He had done so many things wrong in his life. The only good thing that had ever happened was meeting you and falling in love with you and even that he destroyed.
He was gasping for air due to talking nonstop while gesturing with his hands wildly. And then, you just hugged him. Your Alpha scent surrounding him and soothing him. Your arms strong and warm, just perfect to melt into them and let everything loose. Oh, how he had missed that.
“I just… wish you had given me a choice. I wish you would have trusted me more. I would have done anything for you and our baby. It would have been hard, I know, but I am sure we would have been able to make it work.”, you quietly said while soothingly caressing his back and letting a quiet, calming purr erupt from your throat. A sign how close you truly were as you would never purr for anyone else than Bakugou.
“I’m sorry.”, Bakugou sobbed and clawed at your clothes, “I love you and I missed you and.. it was so hard alone, but I know I don’t have any fucking right to complain about it because it’s all my fault and I hurt you so much and-“
You hugged him a little tighter.
“I regret everything, I… I… can you forgive me? Can you give me a second chance? I know I don’t deserve it. I know…”
Had you ever seen him so weak before? No. And it truly tugged on your heart strings. There is nothing you wanted more. Get back together. Be happy again. But-
“Katsuki… have you ever thought of coming back to me? Like, if I had never shown up, if I had never found out… wouldn’t you keep on living without me just fine? Don’t you think this is your guilty conscious speaking? You don’t want me. You don’t need me.”
That was the last thing you said before you pulled back from him at last. Bakugou was quite speechless, just staring at you, red, swollen eyes and a tear-stained face made it hard to just go. But it was for the better. Even if he had regretted it, he was never pushed so far as to come back to you. Like that, maybe it was for the best.
Though before you could turn away, he grabbed your hand.
“Katsuki…”
“I wanted… during the pregnancy, after Hiroto was born and every time I saw you on TV, I was so close to leaving all of this. But at that point, I was too fucking scared. I had no right to go back… There are so many letters I’ve written and never sent. [Your.name], I… I literally have a suitcase ready to go. I’ve been waiting for some sort of sign or I don’t know and now? You’re here. Right here in front of me. I know it’s foolish and I’m stupid and have no fucking right to demand this from you, but please… Let me come back. Please forgive me. Please… be Hiroto’s father.”
He had never in his life begged. His superiority complex definitely wouldn’t allow for any of that, but right now was different. He realized the hurt he had caused. How wrong he was. Bakugou had regretted running away in the first week of living in Hokkaido. He always told himself it was “the right thing”. So maybe it was pathetic that he came crawling back, but if there was a slight chance you would take him back, he just had to take it.
You just sighed. Your heart was confused. While your heart screamed yes over and over again, your brain was telling you no. What if it was just a spur of the moment thing? What if he would leave you again when things would get tough?
But then, you looked down and onto his hand. The gold engagement ring you had gotten him around four years ago was still on his ring finger.
“You still… wear it?”, you asked as you reached for the hand that gripped your wrist tightly. His hands were shaking still – you have never seen him like that.
“It’s the only thing that kept me connected to you…”
“Katsuki…”
Reaching out, you cupped his face with your big hand, the Omega instinctively leaning against it. It was okay. Even if you were to get hurt again. Even if you forgave too quickly. Everything was okay now as you leaned in to connect your lips.
Holding onto you immediately, Bakugou’s fingers clawed at your t-shirt not wanting to let go ever again. Your lips melting together, emotions overwhelming you both as you pressed him into the wall. One hand reaching up to his collar. It took mere seconds for it to snap open. Then it fell to the floor, unleashing all of Bakugou’s Omega scent.
It being overwhelming was quite the understatement. Your knees were weak and legs shaking. You couldn’t resist the urge to bury your face in the crook of his neck.
“Oh my God…”, you moaned as you slowly slid down onto the ground with him, Katsuki just whimpering as he hugged your body as close as possible.
He would never let go again – never!
-
With your teeth gracing along his neck, your sweaty bodies collided over and over again. Bakugou only able to sob as he held on to your hands tightly, nails digging into your skin and almost drawing blood.
You were hovering above him, hearing his cries and sobs. The sweet scent from his neck being so irresistible. You just wanted to bite. Mark him. It had been a tradition in your household to do so on your wedding night, but…
“Do it…”, you suddenly heard.
Bakugou could barely choke it out, ruby eyes filled with tears of pleasure as he whispered one more time, “Do it… It’s overdue…”
And then, without thinking twice about it anymore, you grabbed him tightly while your teeth sank into his skin.
A marvelous burning pain rushing through his body almost made Katsuki pass out. The sweet torture of being bonded to his mate was almost too much. That was all he had longed for, for so long. He didn’t know why you would take such a coward like him back, but he was so grateful and plain… happy.
--
Once you opened your eyes the next morning, it all felt like a dream. Especially when you reached to your side and it was empty.
Sitting up abruptly, you looked around – definitely not your room. So what happened last night was not a dream. However…
Without putting anything on, your heart was beating so fast when you rushed outside the bedroom door. Flashbacks to three years ago were haunting your mind.
“Katsuki?”, you tore open the next door, prepared to just see another letter on one of the tables.
Though it, thankfully, wasn’t the case. There he was, standing in the kitchen, your flannel from yesterday the only thing covering his body while he was talking to someone on the phone. Unintentionally, tears had formed in your eyes, but now, you just sighed shakily and wiped over your eyes quickly.
Bakugou, who had turned around once he heard you calling for him, certainly had his heart sinking in the pit of his stomach.
That was his fault.
“Okay… okay, thank you.”, then he ended the call and turned to you, “Sorry, it was about Hiro. Akitoshi will bring him over before lunch.”
“Ah? Mh, okay.”
“Hey…”, putting his phone onto the table, he walked towards you. The Omega’s strong arms wrapped around your waist as he cuddled against your chest.
“I am not running away again. I promise.”, Katsuki barely whispered.
Hugging him tightly with your hand buried in his hair, you just quietly sighed and then kissed his forehead before leaning your head against his.
“I know. I just need some time.”, you also said quietly and Bakugou understood.
Hence why he reached out to cup your face, smiling softly.
“I love you.”
A small smile also flitted across your lips. Your hands cupping his own as you leaned down to kiss him.
“I love you, too.”
Walking back into the bedroom, Bakugou soon lost the flannel again as he slipped into bed, snuggling against you; legs tangled and naked bodies melting together. Unintentionally your hand had slipped down to his belly. That’s when you felt uneven skin and a scar underneath your fingertips. Yesterday, you were caught up in all your pent up emotions too much, so you didn’t notice.
It was his C-Section scar.
“Katsuki?”
“Hm?”
“Tell me about Hiroto.”
Subconsciously, his lips curved into a smile. That you wanted to know more about your son melted his heart but also made him feel more guilty. If only he could turn back time.
“Yeah.”, and then, he started talking and you just listened to the soothing voice of your Omega.
There were three years to catch up on, but due to Katsuki telling your son about you all the time, at least it was easier for Hiroto. With how he was clinging to you yesterday, it was obvious he loved you even though he had never met you in person. And you wanted to be there for him at last. You had only met him yesterday for a brief moment but your heart was already filled with so much love that you wanted to give to him.

sleepy boys inc x gn!teen! reader headcannons
trying something new! i like bbs and all, but i wanted to write for other youtubers! lemme know if yall wanna see more content like this lol.
this takes place in a minecraft au!!! also, mentions of bad parenting/abusive parents
wc: 2,319
okay the sleepy boys
chaos incarnated, all of them. you can’t deny it
so, when tommy invites a friend from a local village, at first, everyone else is skeptical. since when has tommy made a friend who didn’t hate him within 20 minutes from all the screaming and insults he spewed?
unlike his friends, phil is more excited than anything. though he isn’t tommy’s dad, he feels like it sometimes, so he really wants to meet this new person who has caught the youngest’s attention
techno is very much not on board. he has a hard time trusting people at first glance and having been friends with tommy for the longest, he knows that tommy readily jumps the gun and attempts to befriend literally anything just because he can
and wilbur? indifferent for the most part. yes, he feels the need to make sure tommy is protected and cared for, but he also recognizes that this situation is out of his hands. the best he can do is hope that their friend isn’t an absolute asshole
so, it’s saturday. all three men are sitting on the couch in phil’s cottage, talking amongst themselves as they wait for tommy to come back. techno makes a joke about murdering them, which leads to phil scolding him about his violent tendencies
“you haven’t even met them yet, techno, what the fuck.”
wilbur is simply adding fuel to the fire, making little remarks here and there and watching the whole thing escalate to phil lecturing the piglin hybrid.
because of this, not one of them had noticed that tommy returned, with his newest friend. they both stopped at the sight of phil in dad mode, tommy considering just turning around and taking his friend as far away as physically possible
too late, since techno’s sixth sense made him whip around and stare at the newcomer. this made phil stop lecturing and wilbur quit giggling long enough for tommy to introduce his friend
after saying their name, the friend lifted their hand shyly, face burning from slight embarrassment. their other hand was latched onto tommy’s, feeling intimidated.
can you blame them? the fucking blood god looks like they wanna skewer them and cook them over a campfire.
tommy took notice of their shyness and cleared his throat, “we were planning on going to the carnival in their village if you three assholes feel like tagging along.”
like there was any way they were gonna let tommy and his friend go out without chaperones.
tommy turned back to his friend, “give me a second, i’m gonna go grab my sword just in case.” and proceeded to run up the stairs and towards the guest bedroom in phil’s house that he claimed.
the millisecond he was out of earshot, techno grabbed his friend by the front of the shirt.
“what are your intentions with tommy?”
the friend blinked once, twice, then bit back a smile. “you’re asking that as if i’m about to date that motherfucker.”
this time, it was wilbur who bit back a grin of his own. who would’ve expected the originally shy kid to have replied like that????
techno’s brain short circuited and his grip on their shirt loosened slightly. did.... did this kid just brush off his question???
“can you put me down? you’re gonna stretch my shirt.”
techno’s brain blinked back into focus and he gripped the kid’s shirt harder, shoving them against the nearest wall. “i asked a question, kid.”
“you know, tommy told me something like this would happen. i’m glad i came prepared.” and then, tommy’s friend sucked in a deep breath. techno leaned back, expecting the worst...
“MWISTER TECHNWOBWADE, PWEASE PUT MWE DOWN BEFWORE I SCWEAM”
oh god, this was far worse than anything he thought of.
he dropped the teen out of disgust more than anything, reeling backwards. if there was one thing that haunted his dreams, it was uwu-speak.
phil started howling of laughter, clutching his stomach and hunching over. originally he was going to stop techno from threatening a literal child but this outcome was so much better than anything he was anticipating
wilbur was no better, already tearing up from how hard he was snickering. he started choking on his own spit at one point, smacking his arm against the couch.
tommy was so fucking confused when he came back down the stairs, seeing the mayhem that was, for once, not caused by him. he glanced at his friend, who had the world’s biggest shiteating grin.
yeah, they were gonna fit in just fine.
and they did! phil took them under his wing (both physically and metaphorically) and allowed them to come visit his home whenever they wished. and whenever they did, phil was the first to ask how they’ve been and what they were up to
to phil’s surprise, the kid was overall calm in their choice of activities. things like playing soccer or drawing or figuring out how to learn instruments in their free time. it seemed like they were desperate to get their hands on anything and everything just to learn
he found it funny, though, when their chaotic side shone through. they easily were on tommy’s level when they got into that headspace and it was so hilarious to him.
his favorite memory of the kid was when they walked into the house and marched right up to where techno was reading idly in the corner. planting their hands on their hips, they spoke.
“if you were to fuck a clone of yourself, would it be masturbation or would you be considered gay?”
phil, who was washing the dishes six feet away from them, just about crumbled into a ball on the floor from how hard he was laughing and sobbing.
of all questions, that was the one that came out.
but he had no idea that the chaos was a coping mechanism. he just thought they were naturally like that in their free time.
he soon found out the truth when they came home with tommy, who was cursing up a fit, visibly angry. his friend was slumped over, as if trying to hide themselves from the world
when phil asked what had happened, tommy exploded.
“their fucking dad took all their money from their savings! said he needed it more than them and when they asked for it back, he called them a fucking disappointment! that fucking bitch--”
phil can count very few times when he felt true anger and he can confirm that when tommy had told him what had gone down, he saw red.
but he knew better than to outwardly show it. judging by how hunched over and defeated the kid was, what they needed was a stable support system
so he walked over and shut tommy up with a hand on his shoulder, “why don’t we take the rest of the night to build up that game room you wanted in the basement. i’m sure if we knock it out before techno and wil are supposed to be back, we can all play something like monopoly.”
seeing where phil was headed, tommy nodded and brushed away his anger. he knew that what his friend needed was a serious cheering up. tommy ran towards his guest bedroom, claiming that he was going to find his blocks.
phil crouched in front of the teen, tilting their head up to look him in the eyes. “you’re not a disappointment. you’re an amazing person with a chaotic joke machine going 120 kilos over the speed limit in your head and you are talented. your dad doesn’t know shit about what you’re capable of doing.”
oh boy, the kid’s crying. those are tears, full on tears.
that night was one of the best nights of their life, however. they enjoyed the entire three hour long game of monopoly where they watched the light leave everyone’s eyes. it was funny when wilbur lunged across the table when he landed on a railroad, out for phil’s blood.
speaking of wilbur, he enjoyed every minute in the kid’s presence. they often asked creative and random questions and went along with the abstract jokes he made, the two of them laughing heartily the entire time.
when the kid first mentioned wanting to learn how to play the guitar, he practically burst through the wall of the room next door, breathing heavily and exaggeratedly.
“did someone say guitar”
yeah, he’s feral. that’s canon.
they proceeded to spend the entire day in phil’s garden, each of them equipped with a guitar. despite their outwardly smooth brain and stupid demeanor, the teen was a fast learner and could play the most basic chords by the time the sun was setting.
wilbur’s favorite moment was the first night they met, when they went to the carnival. there was the game where you shoot the water and fill up the balloons and the kid was going head to head against techno and tommy.
it was when techno won that the teen turned to techno with murder in their eyes and spoke in a deadpan tone of voice,
“you’re lucky you won this time, you gentrified mayo monkey.”
wilbur’s jaw dropped, as did techno and phil’s. tommy was already in hysterics, smacking his hand against the counter that held the guns.
needless to say, wilbur found his favorite, not-quite sibling in a heartbeat.
techno was the last to come around with the child. can you blame him? every time he tried to threaten them or had beaten them at something, they would respond in a cryptic threat--
“i’m going to pee your pants if you don’t let me win”
or just brushed him off. without a second thought.
“anyways, i was murdering a chicken the other day, and the fucker had the audacity to ribbit at me.”
to say he was confused was an understatement. he was terrified of the fact that a literal child held so much power and disinterest in things like their own life. so for the first few months, he avoided them.
but he had seen past that when it was around midnight on a weekday. tommy was hanging out with tubbo and ranboo in their village miles away from the area. wilbur was out drinking with schlatt, niki, and fundy, and phil was already asleep.
techno wasn’t too far behind, sitting in front of the fireplace and staring out of the window that showed the front yard. it was only then when he saw the flash of a familiar face and looked closer as the teen walked up to the house quietly. their head was down and they carried a small bag with them.
techno opened the front door with a long creak as they reached the porch steps. it was only when they jumped and looked up in surprise that techno had noticed a deep bruise on their left cheek in the moonlight.
despite the fact that he kept away from them, techno was very protective and territorial of tommy, phil, and wilbur. and since they were attached to the teen, he became protective of them as well.
so all the voices in his head went quiet for a second. before exploding into a mixture of screams and threats, all leading back to protecting the child in front of him.
without thinking, he reached forward and cupped their face for a better view of the bruise. at the warm and soft touch, tears slipped down the kid’s cheeks and they sniffed pathetically.
the voices quickly took a 180, all screaming to take care of them. make them feel better. so, techno led the kid inside and let them spend the night in his room, with them falling asleep on the bed and him falling asleep on the rocking chair in his room.
phil did not hesitate to officially declare himself as the teen’s official father, saying that their biological father was a “little bitch”
now somewhat living with the teen, techno found an appreciation for their quieter moments, when they were reading or simply daydreaming. it was cute, in his eyes. but he also grew to enjoy when they were absolutely feral, especially toward tommy.
his favorite moment with them was when they had gifted tommy a music disc for his birthday. it was sweet and sentimental and tommy just about burst into tears when he saw it.
all of the sappiness quickly vanished when tommy put it into a jukebox.
“FUCK THIS PUSSY, BOY, FUCK. FUCK IT RIGHT, BOY--”
tommy had let out the most terrified scream and it practically engrained itself into techno’s brain. it was the first time he ever laughed at something the teen had done and the teen felt proud of themselves.
and finally, tommy. he was already happy to call himself a friend of the teen’s. they were like peas in a pod, working together.
tommy came to them when his insecurity felt heavy and they came to him whenever their dad’s words got to them. they had a nice system of dependency on one another and neither of them would trade it for the world.
tommy’s favorite moment of being friends with them was during their first birthday living in phil’s house. it was a birthday befitting their personality, with brightly color streamers hung and confetti all over the floor. he knew that they enjoyed it severely and once the cake was cut, the kid turned to phil.
“phil, where’s the big tiddy strippers i requested?”
tommy was GONE
he all but choked on his slice of cake and walked away, shaking his head while trying to stifle his giggles. but when he heard phil’s scream of “WHAT”, he just lost it.
all in all, his friend had made a fine part of the sleepy boys. they were a happy face in an otherwise somewhat bleak and dangerous world. and all four men appreciated it.

Pretty please can we have something where Echo and TBB find out Rex and reader are expecting? Bonus points for Omega's reaction cause I wonder sometimes whether she knows much about the natural way babies are made? I figure she wouldn't have need of that information in the Kaminoans' eyes.
I wanna preface this by expressing the joy I feel and the appreciation I have when you guys come into my inbox asking or wanting to talk about Post-Order 66 Rex and fam. I love it SO MUCH you have no idea :’)
So, if you remember, Hunter was briefly in Insatiable and has a couple lines of dialogue - he even congratulates them on the pregnancy and wishes them well in case he doesn’t see them soon - which is shown during Rex + reader + Hunter’s short interaction. The squad is told the happy news before the events of that particular installment, and I’m thinking that it happens when Rex contacts them to ask if they would be able meet him on [planet] for a little help with [mission].
Find the rest of the series and related works in the Post-Order 66 Rex ML
Let’s go back in time when Rex makes contact with TBB, which preludes the events of Insatiable: (pregnant!reader, TBB + Omega finds out, about 1.6k words)
<<<>>>
"We’re being hailed.”
All members on board the Marauder drop what they’re doing and turn their attention to Echo, who had just called out and is signaling for everyone to congregate in the cockpit. Hunter sheathes the knife he’d been twirling in his fingers and nods before stepping towards the rear of the ship and calling for Omega, while Wrecker sets down Gonky and waves her over. Tech and Echo are already sat in the cockpit, getting the signal steady for the incoming transmission to come through.
"What is it?" Omega jumps down from the gunner's nest - now her room thanks to Wrecker's kind heart and creativity - and joins her brothers in the cockpit. The pilot seats are swiveled around and facing the small space in the center of all of them - the bust of a familiar captain popping into view. "Oh, it's Rex! Hi Rex!" She waves at his translucent blue form with a giddy smile plastered on her face. “Where is-”
"Hello Omega," you chime in with a smile as your head pops into the perimeter of the holo. Her sweet face lights up even more, and her eyes move back and forth between you both, unsure of whom to focus on. From the room you’re still staying at in a high-rise located in Yerbana City, the two of you exchange quick greetings with the five who are currently traveling through hyperspace.
“What’s goin’ on, Rex?” The gentle giant asks with a grin and hands placed on his hips. The captain straightens his stance and crosses his armored arms across his chest plate, and instead of directing his impending response to Wrecker, Rex’s attention turns to Hunter, who’s leaned against the frame at the threshold of the cockpit. A moment passes as the two share a nonverbal understanding before Rex opens his mouth - the focusing pairs of eyes on one another.
“I wanted to see if your squad would be available to help me out.” You quietly observe each individual who are all appearing on your end as full-body projections, landing on Omega to where she’s sitting on top of their Gonk droid - her hands folded neatly in her lap, legs swinging.
“Name it.” Echo is quick to respond with a affirmative nod as he meets the eyes of each member - cutting off Hunter before the sergeant can get a word in. Rex’s oldest friend found himself caught at the receiving end of a very slight glare coming from directly across from him, and begins to backtrack. “I-”
“What is it, Captain?” Hunter interjects.
You sort of tune out the rest, having already been given the spiel by Rex long before you’d suggested for him to contact Hunter for some much-needed assistance. It’s a simple mission: scouting out an abandoned base in hopes to obtain supposedly valuable information from the obsolete Republic database and perhaps to also restock on munitions if there’s anything left there. Normally this would be something Rex could manage on his own, though his thoughts have been a little busy since the start of your extended stay in Yerbana. The two of you ended up taking a little much-needed ‘vacation’ in the repopulating capitol city after receiving the incredible news, and you’re just now getting back into the swing of things. Well, for the most part. Rex doesn’t quite trust his focus as of late with far too many other important things swarming around in his mind, and is worried that he'd make a mistake doing the mission solo, no matter how simple the objective appears to be.
Hunter accepts without resistance, and confirms that they'll meet the two of you just outside the abandoned base immediately after they’ve finished their current objective for Cid, which will probably be in another eighteen hours or so. Rex transmits the coordinates, and it falls silent; the awkward clearing of the throat coming from Rex crackles through the air on their end.
“Somethin’ else, Rex?”
“Actually, yeah. We have some news.” Rex grins and rubs at his nape, and you can't help but to smile wide at him from your position at his side. The squad members all share a glance - a mixture of raised, inquisitive brows and narrowed, concerned eyes. Hunter steps closer to the projection, caution engrained within the features of his half-inked face as he crosses his arms.
“Tell them, love,” your sweet voice of reassurance crackles with the brief wavering signal - your hand laying to rest on his pauldron. Rex chuckles down at his feet and grabs your hand to bring it up to his chest, squeezing gently as he begins to acknowledge the others.
“Everything okay, you two?”
“Based on their lifted expressions and display of affection towards one another, it appears that this ‘news’ is of a positive, exuberant nature.”
You can’t help but laugh at Tech being Tech, which results in mixed reactions at the other end of the call. Rex inhales deep - the air quietly seeping through his nostrils on the exhale. “We’re, uh- we’re gonna have a baby.” His lit up eyes drop to his boots and he’s smirking at his feet as soon as the words leave his lips. You watch as the multiple pair of eyes widen with smiles creeping their way onto each member of the squad’s faces, but the first person to audibly respond is Tech - his focus not lifting from the device held in his hands.
“Are you certain?” All heads snap in Tech’s direction to where he’s leaned forward in the pilot’s seat, elbows resting on his thighs, continuing to tap away at the datapad. Smacking his bother’s knee, Echo squints at Tech and shakes his head.
“Yes, Tech,” you giggle as your hand releases from Rex’s and moves to rest against the beginnings of your baby bump, though you’re unsure if they are able to see either one of you from the chest down. “The bun has been confirmed as baking in the oven. We risked a brief visit to the local med center here, so, we’re certain.”
“Well then.” Tech’s brows lift above the rim of his goggles as he readjusts the spectacles with a finger pushing between them. “Felicitations to you both. That is quite extraordinary news. It seems that I was correct in-”
“That’s so wonderful!” Omega exclaims with the largest grin - hopping off the GNK and clapping her hands excitedly as she approaches you. “When are you getting the baby? Are we going to see the baby when we meet them at the rendezvous, Hunter?”
“Of course you're going to see the baby, Omega,” you answer softly for Hunter, giving him a quick smile and nod, saving him from having to explain. “It won’t be for quite a few months, though. Not until after the baby is born.” Omega’s brows pinch together in confusion, and you cautiously elaborate, unsure of what she already knows as far as what the natural-born process entails. “The baby has to grow inside of me first, and that takes a little while.”
"Inside of you?" Her curiosity is absolutely adorable. She turns to her brothers - soft eyes flickering to each one of them.
"You see, Omega, when-"
"Uh, Tech?" Rex clears his throat, and the intelligent trooper is quick to get the hint - closing his mouth and resuming to silently tap at the datapad. Echo is next to chime in, and he’s smiling like a fool, eyes wide.
“You’re gonna be a dad, eh? Wow... that’s- that’s just incredible, brother.”
“I’m gonna be an uncle!” Wrecker very loudly exclaims, and Omega and you share giggles at his enthusiasm.
“Technically, Wrecker, we are all going to be ‘uncles’ since Rex is our brother, genetically speaking. Therefore, any offspring he may produce would be considered as our nieces and nephews. That is how the nat-borns conduct their family trees.” Tech punctuates his statement with a sure nod - speaking with his finger raised in the air so as to draw attention to his point.
You’re so lost in the way Rex’s eyes continue to positively sparkle with pride and adoration as his brothers and Omega shower the two of you with congratulatory praises that you’re forgetting to respond to all of them.
“We appreciate it, everyone,” you say with an ear-to-ear grin - beaming at Rex.
“We’ll see you all soon,” Rex concludes, “Stay safe out there.”
The holo vanishes as the transmission disconnects, leaving the squad on board the Marauder to go over some more details of their next objective as well as to process the news.
“So...” Wrecker turns around and leads Gonky back to where he was benching the power droid before the call. “What do ya think Rex is gonna do?”
Hunter raises the brow bordered with dark ink. “What do you mean?”
“Are they going to keep this up, now that they’re going to have a kid? You know, the missions and stuff?”
“We have Omega,” Tech inputs matter-of-factly as he prepares the ship for exit from hyperspace. “And we are managing just fine, barring our dwindling ration supply.” Omega smiles sheepishly, but nods with confidence.
“Rex is a good man.” Echo swivels his seat around and sits up straight, meeting the four pair of eyes now gazing back at him. “Always tried to do what was best for his men, his brothers, and still does, even if it's beyond his control or out of his hands. Now that Rex is... free,” Echo puts the most stress into that word as it’s spoken - glancing down at his feet and chewing the inside of his cheek before continuing, “He’s in control of his life, and is able to choose his own path. And that path will lead to what’s best for his family.”

i’ll save you a seat
steve/tony, established relationship, canon divergence, 1673 words
(inspired by this deleted scene from the avengers [2012])
“Waiting on the big guy?”
“Ma’am?” Steve looks up from his sketchbook, eyes squinting against the sunlight.
He meets the gaze of one of the waitresses working at the café. Her long blond hair flows down to her chest and she is dressed in the café’s signature uniform: pastel orange blouse, black skirt, and a white half apron tied around her waist.
“Iron Man,” the waitress clarifies, lips quirked up in a knowing smile. “A lot of people eat here just to see him fly by.”
“Right,” Steve says, lips twitching at their inside joke. He opens his mouth to say something else, but a familiar silhouette in the distance catches his eye and breaks his train of thought. “Uh, actually…”
He nods at the sky. The waitress follows his gaze.
The object grows larger, approaching at a high speed. It morphs into a blur of red and gold that streaks across the blue sky right above them, sending a gust of wind that ruffles the waitress’ blond locks. The figure lands a short distance away from the café with a distinct metallic thunk — the sound of gold-titanium alloy hitting concrete.
All around him, people begin to whisper among themselves with excitement, some even taking out their phones to document the spectacle. Although Steve can’t really say he enjoys the attention, warmth still blooms in his chest as he observes the approaching figure. He finds himself hiding an involuntary grin behind his hand.
“Always a dramatic entrance, huh?” The waitress chuckles.
“You know it.” Steve sighs with fond exasperation. All eyes are on Tony as he walks toward the outdoor area of the café, the nanotech suit peeling away from his body. The excited murmurs and whispers increase in volume.
When Tony finally arrives at the table, he bends down to plant a kiss on Steve’s cheek. “Good morning, beloved.”
“Mr. Stark-Rogers,” the kind waitress greets with a smile. “The usual?”
“Please, Beth. I told you to call me Tony.” Tony reaches up to slide his sunglasses a few inches down the bridge of his nose, giving her a disapproving look that makes her chuckle. “And yes, please. Thank you.”
“Table’s yours as long as you like,” she says before disappearing into the indoor part of the café to relay the order. Steve knows she means it, too. She’ll make sure of it, just like she always has for the past few years.
The café had been Steve’s favorite café, at first. He visited the place often, especially during his first few weeks in the twenty-first century. He developed a fondness for their sesame seed bagels and the lovely view of Stark Tower from his favorite outdoor table, although the latter is a fact Steve would never admit to Tony even on pain of death.
However, the café quickly became Steve and Tony’s favorite café when their reluctant camaraderie bloomed into friendship all those years ago. Even before they started dating, Steve and Tony already established a weekly ritual of having brunch at the café whenever their schedules aligned.
Tony did eventually admit to Steve that he found the café’s coffee to be subpar. He did, however, insist that the café was his favorite, albeit for reasons different from Steve’s. Not for the bagels, not for the exceptional view of Stark Tower, and definitely not for the coffee, but because the café was a place full of memories. His memories of the two of them, his memories of Steve:
“That café was where I first made you laugh. Like, really laugh. I’d seen you smile or chuckle before, but that kind of full-body laughter? That was a first. And I remember thinking that… I really, really liked the way you laughed.”
It has been seven years since Steve first sat at this very table and sketched the figure of Stark Tower looming before him. Beth is still working at the café, having made her way through the ranks. Now a co-owner of the café, she has developed a friendship of sorts with Steve and Tony — both of whom she claims to be her favorite regulars. Tony likes to joke about how she probably says that to all of her regulars, something Beth always denies vehemently.
Steve turns his attention back to Tony, who has taken off and folded his sunglasses, letting them hang from the collar of his shirt.
“Would it kill you to take the elevator and walk?”
“It’s not like I do this every single time. Besides, why take the elevator when you have a flying suit? That’s just ineffective.” Tony makes a face as he pulls his chair out.
“‘S good exercise.”
“I exercise plenty.” Tony sits down on the chair across from him, scooting closer to the table. Under the table, his ankle brushes Steve’s. “Besides, we just engaged in a vigorous workout session this morning.” Tony bites his lower lip, giving Steve a lascivious wink.
“Tony,” Steve reprimands, but finds himself unable to say anything further, not when the back of his neck is heating up at the memory of what they were up to just a few hours ago. While Steve immediately showered afterward and headed straight to the café, Tony decided he wanted to sleep for a few more hours, promising to join Steve later.
Tony grins before leaning forward on his elbows to peer at Steve’s sketch.
“Which lucky building are you sketching today, honeybunch?”
He squints and frowns when instead of a building he finds a rough and nondescript sketch of a person’s face.
It could be anyone to the untrained eye, but Steve’s pen strokes are sure and confident, having rendered the same jawline countless of times.
Every single time, Tony’s figure never fails to fascinate him. Always so beautiful from every angle, in every light. Steve knows it well enough by now to be able to sketch him simply from an image in his mind’s eye.
Still, nothing beats the real thing. Steve takes in the sweep of Tony’s dark lashes and his coffee brown eyes as he appraises the drawing.
“It’s not a building,” Steve says instead.
Tony hums noncommittally, tilting his head at the sketch and giving it one last look before leaning back in his seat. “How was your morning run?”
“Uneventful.”
“Really?” Tony says distractedly, his attention on Beth who is once again approaching their table with his cup of coffee, black as midnight.
Tony engages in more small talk with Beth as she sets the cup and saucer on the table, asking after her husband and kids. There is an easy and carefree smile on his face, crinkles forming at the corners of his eyes.
All the while, his fingers are fiddling with two sugar packets Steve knows he will only use one of. He is always buzzing with energy, parts of him always in a state of perpetual motion, finding it near impossible to stay still.
Steve also knows that he won’t finish the coffee because it wasn’t made by Steve or himself.
These little idiosyncrasies are details that make up Tony, the little quirks that only Steve knows.
The little things that make you mine, Steve thinks privately. He feels something inside him softening at the thought.
“Sorry, honey,” Tony says when Beth eventually leaves to take another table’s orders, his smile soft and affectionate. “You were saying? Running was uneventful?”
“Yeah,” Steve says quietly, “nothing really interesting.” He admires the way sunlight turns the tips of Tony’s dark hair into a lighter shade of brown. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. You’re still the highlight of my morning.”
Tony huffs, rolling his eyes, but his lips curve up into a pleased smile and his brown eyes are warm with affection as he meets Steve’s gaze. He reaches for Steve’s hand on the table, giving it a gentle squeeze. The band of vibranium around his husband’s ring finger gleams in the late morning sunlight.
“I better be, after waking you up with one hell of a—”
“Tony!” Steve exclaims, knocking his ankle against Tony’s in warning. “Stop it.”
“What? It’s the truth! You really did enjoy it when I—”
“There are children around,” Steve hisses, casting a furtive glance at a nearby table occupied by a family of four.
Tony laughs softly, his shoulders shaking with it. Still holding his gaze, he brings Steve’s hand to his lips, pressing two feather-light kisses to the back of his hand. He continues holding Steve’s hand against his mouth, and when he speaks Steve feels his lips and the bristles of his goatee brushing his skin.
“Sorry, baby, I can’t help it.” Tony hides a smile against Steve’s knuckles. “You’re just so pretty when you blush.”
Steve looks down, avoiding Tony’s eyes in favor of staring at the cookie crumbs next to his half-full cup of coffee that has long since gone cold. His cheeks are still burning, and Tony’s words are not helping.
“See?” Tony says, before planting a kiss to his knuckles. “So pretty.”
Steve shuts his eyes with a defeated sigh. “Please just drink your coffee.”
Tony chuckles again but Steve hears the clink of ceramic, a cup being lifted from its saucer. “Aye-aye, Captain.”
He only allows himself to open his eyes when Tony gets distracted by some pigeons, immediately launching into a spiel about the one time he was attacked by a pigeon who was apparently really determined to steal his sandwich.
Steve nods along dutifully, reacting at appropriate times throughout the story, but all he can think of is that sitting there, at a café’s outdoor table on Park Avenue on a bright Sunday morning, his husband sat in front of him talking a mile a minute, is that there is nowhere else he’d rather be.
His gaze falls down to where Tony’s hand is still holding his, even when his other hand is gesturing animatedly as he tells his story.
Yes. Steve thinks, smiling helplessly at the twinkle in Tony’s eyes — the one that appears whenever he gets excited. I’m home.

Who They Failed
Summary: Little Blue takes a burden away from Ghostbur
Pairings: Ghostbur x F! Child! Reader
Warnings!: DEATH! LOSS OF CANON LIVES! SUICIDAL THOUGHTS! ANGST!
A/N: NON CANON! I literally got a weird urge to write this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        (Y/N) rocked on her heels as Tommy went over the final parts of his plans to her father.
        “You got it Ghostbur?” Tommy asked him.
        “Yes, and you promise I won’t be revived?”
        (Y/N) stopped at that, she had heard her father talk about that before. He didn’t like it when he talked about it. She frowned before coming over as she could feel her father’s nervousness about the subject.
        “I could help you, Uncle Tommy.” She smiled brightly.
        “I, uh, I don’t know about that,” Tommy said.
        He looked at her long-sleeved arms but he knew…He knew how many she was on.
        “It’s easy! I can lie better than daddy anyways.” She grinned. “You taught me!”
        “You did?” Ghostbur looked at Tommy surprised.
        “You weren’t supposed to say to anyone.” He reminded her.
        “Oops, I’m still learning.” She whispered loudly to him.
        Tommy face-palmed. He had the option between the two of the kindest souls in the land that literally couldn’t lie to save his literal life. Sighing, he looked between the two. (Y/N)…would be safe. He was going to kill Dream. Dream wouldn’t get a chance to hurt her. She also wasn’t the ghost Dream wanted to revive…that man Tommy didn’t want back…
        “Yeah, alright. We’re changing plans. (Y/N)’s coming with me so I can guarantee you won’t be revived.”
        (Y/N) clapped her hands. “A secret mission.”
        It was all a game to her. She didn’t understand like usual even though she was a teenager and should have a better understanding.
        “Alright, all you got to do is go visit Dream. You got it?” Tommy instructed her.
        “Ok.” She nodded.
        “She’ll be ok, right?” Ghostbur floated nervously.
        “I promise I won’t let anything happen to her Ghostbur. She’s my niece just as much as she’s your kid.” He muttered.
        He wouldn’t let anything happen. Just an in and out. She wouldn’t need to be involved past getting in. He didn’t want anything to happen to either of them…Besides, (Y/N) had no beef with Dream. She was literally too pure to hate her for anything. Dream should have no reason to hurt her.
        “Ok, well take Friend. He’ll make sure you’re ok too.” Ghostbur handed her the leash. “Be safe little blue.”
        “I will daddy! Friend and I will be like secret agents!”
        Ghostbur smiled, nodding. “Ok. Have fun little blue!”
        Tommy shook his head before taking a deep breath. “Let’s go. We’ll be back.”
        She pranced to the front of the prison, pausing though as she stared a bit nervously at the portal before clearing her throat as Tommy stood invisible now behind her.
        “Hello?”
        “(Y/N)? How can I help you?” Sam asked through a speaker.
        “I wanted to visit Dream!” She grinned at the answer.
        “W-Why would you want to do that?”
        “I need to talk to him about something. May I please visit?”
        “Uh, ok. Yeah, sure. Just go through the portal.”
        She hesitated a bit before going through. After having to leave her blue friend behind, she greeted Sam.
        “What do you want to talk to Dream about?” Sam asked.
        “The revive book. My daddy doesn’t like it. I’ve heard him talk about it sometimes.” She said, surprising Tommy as he didn’t realize she was that aware of the world around her. “He doesn’t like it. I wanted to ask if he won’t use it on him or my Uncle Tommy any more. He doesn’t like it either.”
        “Oh…well ok. We have to do a few things first.”
        Tommy followed behind the pair, (Y/N) humming a tune under her breath the whole time she followed Sam. Tommy realized now that the girl had lied to all of them. She came here for her own mission. She wanted the revive book gone. It was just anyone’s guess if she actually realized it herself. When they got to the final room, she once more rocked on her heels as she sang out loud now.
        Finally, the lava came down and she stood on the bridge, not flinching as she looked at the smiley mask. She was on a mission after all and thought of nothing more…
        Until…
        “YOU! STOP! WHOEVER’S INVISIBLE! GET BACK OVER HERE NOW!” Sam demanded.
        (Y/N) looked at the axe that was showing through Tommy’s potion and looked between Sam, the axe, and Dream nervously now. She didn’t have any blue…
        This wasn’t part of his plan with Ghostbur…
        She watched the axe move to the bridge before it left…
        Then she screamed as she felt a yank on her hair, holding her against the barrier.
        “UNCLE TOMMY!” She panicked.
        “LET HER GO, YOU BASTARD! SAM! SEND ME BACK OVER!”
        The yelling…
        It was so confusing…
        (Y/N) was so scared as she screamed desperately. She had never felt so scared before…
        She tried to think of happy things as she tried to get away from the netherite barrier while Tommy begged with Sam to send him back or do something!
        “Blue, Friend, daddy—Ah!” She screamed as Dream pulled her hair. “DADDY!”
        “(Y/N)! Look at me!” Tommy demanded and she looked at him with tears in her eyes. “It’s going to be ok! Ok? Count instead. With me. Alright? Ten, nine, eight….”
        She counted down with him as she tried to think of anything else but the fear gripping her. Friend was waiting for her outside the portal. Ghostbur was waiting for her outside the prison with her friends. She’d get to babysit Michael tomorrow! Happy things, happy things…
        She was no longer crying out but still struggling against Dream’s hold as Dream was making demands for his release. She couldn’t let him get out; he’d use that bad book! He was supposed to be here, Uncle Tommy always said so.
        But…she didn’t need to worry about him getting out because she saw the lava go down…
        “SAM! NO! (Y/N)! IT’S GOING TO BE OK! I PROMISE! JUST THINK OF—”
        She didn’t remember what he said last before she felt a quick pain before she stood on a shaking train. She shook as she hugged herself.
        “Hello?” She called, shaking.
        It was cold…
        Then…
        The train stopped and the doors opened to a swirling portal. She whimpered seeing the portal before stepping through. In front of her was an empty dark home…
        “Hello?” She called again. “Daddy?”
        “Hello?” A familiar voice questioned.
        A man came around a corner, wearing a long brown coat and he looked a lot like her father but she could tell, this wasn’t her father.
        “Who are you?” He stopped.
        “I-I’m (Y/N). Where are we? I need to get home. Friend, Uncle Tommy, and daddy are waiting for me.”
        The man raised an eyebrow at the words, Uncle Tommy. “Uncle Tommy? Who’s your dad?”
        “His name’s Ghostbur.”
        He laughed as he put his hands in his pockets. “Ghostbur? You’re his child?”
        She nodded.
        “Well, darling. I hate to break it to you. But I’m what your father would call, ah, how did Tommy explain it? Right, Alivebur.”
        “But…daddy says you’re gone.”
        “I am, I’m dead. And since you’re here, that means, you died too.”
        “No. No, no, no. Uncle Tommy promised daddy and me I’d be ok. We-We were just visiting Dream to make him stop doing bad things.”
        “And Dream’s a ruthless killer if he doesn’t get what he wants. I’d know with the things he did.” Wilbur laughed bitterly. “You’re stuck here kid. Welcome, to hell.”
        No, she promised she’d be back to Friend. She promised Ghostbur she’d be ok. Tommy promised she’d be ok. She put her hands over her ears shaking her head as she didn’t have any blue to take the bad thoughts away.
        She lied…She lied to Ghostbur and Friend and she didn’t help Tommy…She failed all of them…
        …
        Tommy came outside, holding on to Friend’s lead as he saw Ghostbur, Tubbo, and Ranboo waiting outside for him. He gripped tightly onto the lead as Ghostbur looked over at him with that wide grin.
        Right now, he didn’t care that he failed mission kill Dream…
        He failed (Y/N) and Ghostbur…
        And he’d have to tell Ghostbur…
        And the next few days he was going watch as Ghostbur cries for days nonstop…
        The ghost wishing he could actually die…
        …Because Ghostbur would believe he failed little blue…
"Okay, Y/n," Ginny grabbed a pastry from the platter which we had stolen from the kitchen and that now laid on a small coffee table in the middle of the Room of Requirement. "truth or dare?"
"Dare."
"I dare you to... Wait." She thought about it for a second before leaning on Luna to ask her something. "I dare you to kiss Fred."
"Uh-uh." Fred, who had just moved to the higher table where the drinks had been laid, was quick to respond, "Not happening." shortly after followed by me.
"I'm not doing that."
"You can't skip a dare!" Ron exclaimed outraged.
"I can if I'm over eight years old." I replied, leaning back on the couch with my arms crossed.
"What she said." Fred agreed, raising his glass at me before drinking.
"Since when do you two back out of a dare?" Ginny questioned with a frown.
"Since this girl here" he motioned at me "started dating Pucey."
"What?" Harry asked in shock. "Pucey? Pucey as in Adrian Pucey?"
"Yeah?" I replied.
"You and Pucey?" Hermione raised her brows and gave Ginny a confused look. "I don't quite see it."
"Oi, what's there to see? I'm the only one who has to see it, don't you think?" I responded, slightly annoyed. "And why is no one talking about this bloke's love life?" I pointed at Fred who now stood behind me. "He's dating that Hufflepuff girl too!"
He tsked his tongue. "Not anymore."
"That's... unsurprising." George commented.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Fred questioned suspicious, kicking my leg for me to move aside so he could sit.
His twin snorted. "You know what's supposed to mean." He took a sip from his drink before nodding at Ginny. "C'mon Gin, change the dare— for Pucey's sake." George scanned us both with analyzing eyes before adding, "we don't want Y/n to end up ditching his boyfriend for this twit, now do we?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"YEEEEH" I was already down on the arena, clapping, when Fred landed with a wide cocky grin on his face, his breathing ragged due to the match's intense last few minutes.
I had rushed down the moment the snitch was caught to be the first one to congratulate him, so I was quite breathless too.
"Did you see me up there? Saving the bloody match!" He exclaimed, tossing his broom and bat on the ground in order to catch me when I threw myself to him.
"You were brilliant oh my gosh!" I let out a surprised laugh. The match seemed pretty much lost until Fred's performance came into play. "Oi, don't let it go to your head!" I was quick to add, pulling away from his embrace.
"Y/n Y/l/n just said I'm brilliant," He stated, the grin not leaving his face. "it's definitely going to my head."
I groaned, letting my forehead fall against his chest. His heart was beating fast, but I blamed it on the adrenaline of the match.
But what was I supposed to blame on the way my own heartbeat picked up when his hand found the small of my back and casually pulled me a tad closer?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Oi," I slid open the door's compartment and scanned it briefly before saying, "everything's full, do you mind—"
"Not at all." Fred rapidly answered, sitting up slightly but quickly returning to his laid back position after I had taken a seat by his side.
I had a brief exchange of words with George and Lee before silence fell upon us; it was quite unsual, yet understandable due to the exhaustion we had been put under during the last semester.
It was because of it that Lee fell asleep, shortly after followed by George. I took the chance to grab my book to avoid giving in to the sleep, though my reading was soon disturbed by Fred's foot tapping over the upholstery of the seat.
"What?" I questioned quietly, my brow quirked at him while my eyes peeked over the book.
"What are you reading?"
"Advanced Potion-Making— what do you want?"
"Rude." I rolled my eyes, making a smirk dance on his lips. He seemed to weigh what he was about to say. "I got you something for Christmas."
"Wait— you what?" He got up, ignoring my shock, and, stretching his hands to reach his bag, he pulled out a small package. "I— you—"
"Speechless, I see." He pointed out amused, handing me the package before plopping back down, his gaze trained on me. "C'mon, open it." His teeth trapped his lower lip in anticipation, and I felt how my blood started to pump violently through my veins before I unwrapped the present. "A little birdy told me you liked... What's it called? Chokers?" I could only nod, speechless at the delicate choker in my lap. "I mean, my hand would have been just as good but you can wear this one in public too."
My face flared up at his words and astonishment was replaced by the usual need to fuck that little bastard up. "I hate you."
"I'm kidding, love." He chuckled, tugging on his sleeves and nodding at the jewelry. "You like it?"
The softness in his gaze made my anger go away as I took another look at the choker. "I love it, but you didn't have to." I scrunched my nose. "it looks very—"
"If you say expensive I'll shove it up your arse so watch your tongue." He warned me, half jokingly and half serious.
"What a way of ruining a sweet gesture." I pointed out, feigning a pout.
"Don't worry, I'll make it sweet again, you'll see—" he pushed himself away from the wall and scooted closer to me, tending his palm. "Give it to me." I obeyed and shifted my position so I would have my back to him. His fingers moved my hair away before his hands carefully placed the strap of velvet around my throat and clasped it. "There." He whispered, putting my hair back in place.
I turned around again without any clue of what to tell him. "I-I'd have gotten you something—"
"Y/n, it's a gift, not a trade." He gave me a warm smile, one that anyone rarely got to see, and my face heated up once more. His eyes seemed to flicker to my lips just for an instant, but he soon averted them from me to check on our peers. "Don't tell them, I won't hear the end of it."
I too peeked at them before leaning in and placing a soft kiss on Fred's cheek. "Merry Christmas, Fred."
The little smile grew into a wide side grin while he casted his face down, fixing it on his hands. "Merry Christmas, Y/n."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was out after curfew, yes, but I wasn't doing anything bad, just visiting my friends in their common room; I only had to be careful and no one would notice me.
Or so I thought.
To my luck, while I was tiptoeing through one of the halls, none other than Fred Weasley bumped into me.
"Shit!" We both took a moment to observe one another. "Alright, sorry in advance." He apologised, taking a peek at the path he had taken before grabbing my hand and pulling me with him.
I didn't hesitate on running with me; I knew he had brought trouble directly to me, and if I didn't follow, I would get detention and, with Umbridge in control, I had to avoid that at all costs.
"Wait wait— Here!" He tapped what I assumed was a camouflaged door and pulled me inside before it could open completely.
We both reached for the door at the same time, shutting it as fast and quiet as possible and stepping back right in time to hear what I assumed was a part of Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad.
Fred was so close that I could feel his heavy breath tickling my neck while we stumbled back into the pitch black darkness of the narrow passage.
"Well, that was close." I commented, trying to keep my pants at bay; it was the only sound heard —our pants.
His hands left my biceps to presumably fall limply on his sides, but he didn't step back to put some space between us. I couldn't see anything, but I still turned around and instantly knew his eyes were trying to find mines, just like my fingertips attempted to intertwin with his.
It was a bad idea, but no one had to know; the lack of light in the secret passage would prevent anyone to witness it, even us.
No one would see it, I thought, trailing my fingers up his arm until I reached his cheek.
His own hand made its way to my waist, giving it a squeeze and pulling me to him.
I pushed him away as soon as we heard Filch's cat miaowing at the hidden door, followed by the erratic running of the caretaker.
Fred grunted in frustration. "C'mon!" He rushed me, taking my hand once more and running down the ginnel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were running breathless, hands held, casting spells left and right.
'Don't stop moving' Arthur had said when the part of the castle we were defending fell into the Dementors' claws.
One of the Carrow apparated a few feet ahead of us, sending a Cruciatus in our direction even before we came to a halt in our running.
Fred raised his wand, quick as lightning, shielding us from the curse, and I didn't miss a beat before hexing the death eater, hitting her right in the chest.
Fred spun around to guard my back from another death eater that stood behind us while I, seeing that the Carrow sister attempted to get up, casted another stunning spell at her, only that this time it hit her shield.
Both Fred and I duelled the two Voldemort's acolytes until we managed to take them out almost simultaneously, yet in very different ways.
"STUPEFY!" Fred yelled out loud to enhance the spell's effect.
I did the same, knowing I needed that extra push to take Carrow out only that my spell was way more harmful. "AVADA KEDAVRA!"
Fred turned around, still gripping my hand, to see the death eater's corpse on the floor. "Fuck!" He exclaimed.
"Was that a good 'fuck' or a bad 'fuck'?" I inquired, adrenaline pumping through my veins when I turned to meet the redhead's eyes, sparkling with excitement.
"Definitely a good 'fuck'." We both let out a laugh as if I hadn't just murdered someone. "Kiss me." He demanded; fortunately, I was thinking that same thing, so my lips crashed against his in a rough kiss right after he had finished the sentence.
We both tried to pour into the kiss as much sentiment as possible to let the other know how much we had craved to do that for the last three years. Our hands and arms were wrapped around each other, pulling our bodies as close as possible in the now empty corridor as if the world was about to end; it most likely was.
"Being realistic," I began speaking against his lips, once he had pulled away only enough for us to breathe. "we might be dead by tomorrow," if the situation was a bit different, we would probably be crying, but our little victory had made euphoria flood our hearts. "so know that—"
"I love you too." He finished with a nod.
I nodded back, pecking his lips before untangling by limbs from his and pulling him with me in order to resume our jog away.
A/N: This was a good practice for me for writing literally anyone else but Arthur. I need to keep expanding my horizons 😩 AO3 Link.
There was a reason Dutch almost never went out alone, staying mostly in camp and commanding the gang from the porch of his tent; His likeness - the slick-back, black hair, the carefully cut mustache, the black hat - was plastered all over the country, posters hanging in post offices, general stores, train stations and sheriff’s offices. It would be no time before someone recognized him if he decided to take a stroll into town or visit the local saloon, so more often than not, he stayed in camp, and everything that he needed was brought to him, like his cigars.
When it came to cigars, Dutch had a very specific taste; the size had to be just right, not too slender so it burned too hot too fast, and not too thick either so it was heavy and harsh. The notes played an important role too; he preferred the spicy flavor of coffee mixed with toasted nuts, though he didn’t mind the notes of cedar and vanilla from time to time. Due to the specifics, finding the right pack of cigars could be a hassle and a headache, so whenever he did find the right one, he made sure to stack up on them.
This time, unfortunately, Dutch had found himself in a new place with no reliable cigar shop and his own supply dwindling down. He’d been puffing on the same cigar for a few days now, hoping to prolong it for as long as possible, though he could already see the end of it. He was hoping to send one of the boys into town to check for him, but everybody was busy; Arthur was on one of his monthly hunting trips, Hosea and John were working on a job, and the rest of the men were out, scouting for any leads. That left just one option; going himself. He knew it could be dangerous and risky, but his need for nicotine was stronger than his rational thought.
“What are you thinking about, Dutch?” you asked when you walked past his tent, noticing his absent minded gaze.
“Hello there,” he said, his gaze shifting towards you, a smile on his lips. “Just thinking about going out.”
Your brows shot up upon hearing his words. The gang had just fled from the previous town on the account of robbing it blind, so all of you were trying to lay low, hoping to make as little noise as possible for the time being. Having Dutch go out was the last thing you needed.
“Out?” you repeated his word, trying to hide the worry in your voice. “What for?”
Dutch brought the cigar to his lips, the usually long stick now reduced to less than a third of its previous length. You watched him as he brought the cigar to his mouth, his lips enveloping and puffing on it before exhaling the smoke. “Unfortunately, I’m down to my last cigar. Need to pick up some more in town,” he said, making you shift your eyes back to his, “Wouldn’t hurt to stretch my legs either. I’m feeling like a prisoner stuck here.”
“Are you sure, Dutch?” you said, not hiding the worry in your voice any longer. “Perhaps I could go for you. It’s not safe for you to go right now since we just-“
“Nonsense!” Dutch interrupted you. “I wouldn’t dream of putting a delicate flower such as yourself in harm's way for me.”
‘Delicate flower?!’ you thought. ‘Since when do delicate flowers rob, kill and steal?’
You opened your mouth, hoping to change Dutch’s mind but you barely parted your lips before he raised his hand, saying, “I won’t hear it” squashing any argument you could have had.
You deflated before nodding your head, leaving Dutch to himself and continuing on to where you were going originally. Worry filled you as you continued on with your day. You’d hate for anything to happen to him; not only was he your leader who you believed in and looked up to, he was also someone you liked. It was hard not to fall for him; well-read, mannered, strong and sinfully attractive, you’ve fallen for him and his promises of a better life right away. You didn’t act on your feelings though, considering he was the leader and you were just one of the members, and a new one at that. So you retorted to watching from afar, and now you were watching him as he left the camp, ready to make the trek for some puny cigars.
Dutch could be unbelievably stubborn and uncooperative sometimes; It was dangerous for him to go out, especially on his own and especially when you could still be followed from the town you just escaped. And for what? Cigars? You shook your head as you continued with what you were doing, trying to keep yourself calm. It was Dutch you were talking about after all, your fearless leader, he knew what he was doing, right?
Dutch didn’t know what he was doing. He decided to go out after supper, when the sun had already set, but the ground was still warm from the day’s heat. He made his way into town at a trotting, leisurely pace, having no reason to hurry. The weather was cooler now and he took big gulps of it, a welcomed change to inhaling the campfire smoke and the scent of Pearson’s stew. He arrived into the town with no hiccups and found the store almost right away. The selection was vast, with cigars from Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico among others. Dutch looked like a kid in a candy shop as he studied every cigar, wanting to take them all but in the end, settled on a pack from Jamaica, its promise of a mild and sweet taste piquing his interest.
With his purchase in his saddle bag, Dutch made his way back to the camp in the same way he did into town, slow and steady, taking in the scenery and the weather. It’s not everyday that he ventured out, so he made sure that he enjoyed it. It was not long after he passed the border of the town that he heard a faint sound of hoofbeats behind him, getting closer and closer and multiplying in numbers.
“Nice night, ain’t it?” said a man who came up to Dutch, riding next to him on his right side. Not a second later, another man came up, riding on Dutch’s left.
Dutch kept one of his hands on the reins, his other (which was previously hanging on his side), icing closer to his holster.
“Yes, it sure is,” he said.
“Say what, mister,” the man on his right began, “Are you Dutch Van Der Linde?”
Without missing a beat, Dutch laughed, saying, “You must be mistaken, sir. My name is Robert Carnegie.”
Neither of the men riding next to him laughed. They looked at each other, before looking behind them, presumingly to communicate with the other. Dutch’s hand was now on his revolver, the cool metal sticking to his sweaty skin. He gripped the handle, and as soon as he did, a hit landed on the back of his head, knocking him out cold.
Your worries kept you through the night, not letting you go to bed and making you sit by the campfire instead, waiting for Dutch’s return. Each time you heard a snap of twigs or what sounded like horse’s hoofbeats, your head would snap towards the entrance of the camp, hoping that it was Dutch coming in, but alas, it wasn’t.
It was long after everyone fell asleep when you finally saw Count trot into the camp, his platinum coat standing out against the dark trees.
You smiled, jumping up from the log you’ve been sitting at, ready to welcome Dutch back, but that smile quickly fell when you noticed that Dutch wasn’t with him.
“Where’s Dutch?” you said when you came up to stand next to Count, talking to the horse as if he could understand you, and perhaps, he did. He snickered, shaking his head and kicking around with his legs.
You placed your hand on him, running it up and down his neck to calm him down. Something went wrong, terribly wrong. Despite not wanting to think of the worst, you understood that there was no other explanation of what could’ve happened; Dutch got captured.
Time was of the essence, so without talking to anyone else or even taking time to make a plan, you mounted your own horse and made your way to Count. Dutch might’ve called you a “delicate flower”, but you were anything but that. You survived on your own for years before falling with the gang, and you were going to show him just what this “delicate flower” was capable of on their own.
“C’mon, show me where Dutch is.”
Upon hearing his owner’s name, Count sprung to action and bolted out of the camp, giving you almost no time to follow after him.
It didn’t take you long to arrive at where Dutch was held. The burning campfire and the sound of chatter could be seen and heard yards away. You hitched the horses to one of the trees before continuing the rest of the way on foot.
“Robert Carnegie, he said his name was,” you heard a man say. “What kind of idiots does he think we are?” A flood of laughter followed, drowning out any other sound in the bushy forest. You took out your binoculars, trying to see where Dutch were. There he was, tied to one of the trees not far from the campfire. His hair was a mess, and you could see traces of blood on his lip and nose. You could feel your blood boil at the sight, and quickly put away your binoculars before continuing your way forward.
“I’d say we turn him in first thing in the morning,” another man said. “No reason to drag this out.”
“Sounds good to me. The sooner we get this over with, the better.”
The men continued on with their conversations when you finally approached them as close as you could without alerting them of your presence. You could feel your heart beat wildly against your ribcage as you gathered your thoughts, thinking of what to do next. It would’ve been nice to have someone else with you right now, you thought, to act as a distraction. Perhaps you should’ve thought this one over more before springing into action. Too late now.
You peeked your head from where you were hidden behind a tree, trying to get a look at Dutch. He was conscious, thought quite, tied to a tree, his head hanging low. It was weird seeing Dutch like this, helpless and vulnerable.
You picked up a small pebble before throwing it into his general direction. Nothing. He didn’t even raise his head. You picked up another one, debating whether to throw it right at his face, before deciding to throw it next to his shoes. That got his attention. Tentatively, as to not alert the men around him, he raised his head, his eyes searching the woods before finally landing on your face. Your eyes met, and you could see a hint of smile appear on his lips as soon as they did. A smile of your own made it to your lips for a moment, before turning serious again, your mind going back to the job at hand. There would be time for smiles and hugs and laughter later. Using your hands, you motioned around, pointing first to him and then to the bounty hunters, before pointing to yourself and to your gun. Dutch made a small, almost unnoticeable motion with his head, indicating that he understood your plan.
“Gentlemen,” Dutch said, stopping the men in their conversation and making all of them turn to him. “Are you sure you want to do this? If I was you, I’d walk away now.”
One of the men snickered, looking at his friends before turning his attention back to Dutch.
“That’s big talk, considering you’re the one tied to a tree.”
“I’m giving you a chance, my friend,” Dutch said, sincerity painting his words.
The man’s face grew dark and somber as did the atmosphere around. He didn’t appreciate Dutch’s words, so with a hand itching closer to his revolver, he said, “Listen here, friend. The poster said to bring you dead or alive, so don’t think for a minute-“
Dutch’s face was painted red as you shot the man in-front of him, blowing his brains out and making his blood spurt everywhere, Dutch included.
The other men sprung to action immediately, their hands going for their firearms and shooting blindly into the dark woods. For a while, all that was heard was the sound of gunshots and occasional cries and screams. You alternated between hiding behind the trees and rocks, occasionally peeking out to shoot one of the men. At last, the fire seized and the forest was once again quiet, the only sound heard being the crackling of the fire.
You peeked your head out, making sure that you’ve got all of the men before finally leaving your hiding spot and making your way to Dutch in long, powerful strides. With shaking hands, you cut down the rope that was tying him to the tree. As soon as he was freed, he massaged his wrists and the imprints that the ropes left on them. He was about to open his mouth to talk, but you began first, your voice loud enough to startle him.
“What were you thinking?!” you screamed, getting up in his face. “Getting captured because of some god forsaken cigars?!”
Dutch tried to speak again, almost got the first word of his sentence in but you continued, not letting him speak.
“What if I didn’t get here? What if I couldn’t find you? For God’s sake Dutch Van Der Linde, why did you have to put yourself in such danger, all for some cigars?!”
To say that he was shocked was to say nothing. He did not expect such a reaction from you, for as long as he’d known you you’ve been cool, calm and collected, always using logic instead of feelings, never speaking in bursts of fury. The fact that you were so riled up, because of him, shocked him and left him practically speechless.
“I…” he began,” I didn’t know you cared so much.”
At this point, you have calmed down somewhat, so you heaved a sigh at his words, shaking your head a little before saying, “Of course I care, Dutch.”
“Why?”
His question was sharp and quick, and you were caught off guard by it, not having a moment to think of an answer or a lie.
“Well, I…” you said, awkwardly glancing around. “I care about you, Dutch.”
“You do, huh?” he said with a smirk.
“Of course I do, all of us in the gang do!” you try to backtrack on your statement, but it was too late, Dutch caught on. You tried not to pay attention to his smug smirk as you whistled for the horses. “Let’s get out of here before anyone else shows up.”
You were up on your horse almost as soon as she arrived, and waited for Dutch to get on his before moving. He mounted Count with a grunt, the injuries he sustained while being held captive making themselves known.
For a moment, you let yourself forget that it was Dutch Van Der Linde you were talking to, and said, “Who’s the delicate flower now?” As soon as the words escaped your mouth, you placed your hand over it, shocked at your own boldness. A silence followed, and you braved yourself for whatever would follow next. A laugh from Dutch startled you as much as his wrath would, and you didn’t dare to say anything until he spoke up, saying, “Perhaps I underestimated you.”
You couldn’t help but relax and smile upon hearing his words, his praise nourishing your soul and making you sit up straighter in your saddle.
“Thank you, Dutch.”
As the two of you made your way out of the forest, Dutch slowed down the pace of Count so he could be riding next to you.
He cleared his throat to get your attention, and when you turned towards him he said, “I should probably apologize for misjudging your potential.” He was silent for a few moments after saying that, before adding, “Perhaps a night on the town and a dinner are in order to make up for my mistakes?”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his offer, considering the situation he got himself in was directly caused by going into town.
“After everything that has happened,” you said, squinting your eyes at him, “you still want to go into town?”
“Well, of course! I got you by my side,” he said. “With a capable and clever person as you, I feel comfortable going anywhere.”
His statement made a blush appear on your cheeks, which you hoped he didn’t see in the dark night. Even beaten and bruised, Dutch never lost his famous charm.
“You are something else Mr. Van Der Linde,” you said with a smile, shaking your head.
For The Girl Who Has Everything
Masterpost link for Reelin’ In The Years: Here
AO3 Link: Here
wc: 2.4k Summary:  Claire is too mad to even look at Cas let alone talk to him. Dean knew he had to step up because two people with messed up childhoods and anger issues really need to spend more time together talking about their feelings.
When Chuck was defeated, a lot of people came to the bunker to celebrate. Those times were a big blur to Dean, his focus was on finding a way to save Cas, and it wasn’t until he saw Claire run down those steps that the world focused again. She smiled at him, a rare big grin, before her arms wrapped around his neck to bring him down for a hug with an intoxicating giggle.
‘She didn’t know,’ Dean thought as his arms hung loosely at his sides.
He hid his face in her curls, not knowing how to face another kid Cas left behind because of him. He was holding his breath when she pulled away to look at him. Her eyebrows were raised in a question that Dean didn’t hear. Didn’t want to hear.
She repeated it, “Dude, where’s Cas? Is the old man sleeping or something?”
‘Yes.’ Dean swallowed the hard lump in his throat.
He didn’t look at the audience around them when he finally opened his mouth to say, “Claire, Ca—” He couldn’t say his name. He felt like it would tear the fragile wall that was keeping him on his feet if he did. “I’m sorry.”
Dean watched as her face twisted into confusion, understanding, and then settling into anger.
She was trying to fight the tears, but they fell as she yelled, “No! No, you were—Where were you? Why didn’t you protect him?”
“He protected me. He—he saved me.”
She looked at him with round eyes, shaking her head as if not wanting to believe it.
“Then it should’ve been you! You should’ve died! Not him!” Dean flinched at the words that have been echoing in his head since that night. “It’s not fair!”
Claire’s angry fist collided with his chest. He flinched at every hit but didn’t back away as her punches became sporadic but still filled with grief. Maybe even guilt.
“I’m sorry.” Dean knew those words did nothing to comfort, but he couldn’t help but say them. “I’m so sorry, Claire.”
She screamed in frustration until her punches weakened, and he was holding her. Then, finally, she fell against him, her face hidden in his chest as her grip tightened on his shirt.
She didn’t stay after that.
She walked back up the stairs with Jody and Kaia following behind her. Jack tried to talk to her, but she couldn’t even look at him. Dean couldn’t blame her.
It’s hard to look at the kid when he reminded them of the person they lost.
Of course, Dean never told Cas any of this.
Since coming back, Cas had been dealing with the silent treatment from the killer Barbie. She only replied with the thumbs-up emoji, and when Cas was too much, she responded with the middle finger emoji. A little warning advising Cas to back off.
She only visited him once, but that was when Cas was in the hospital. She freaked out, yelled at him for being stupid, and then passed out by his bed only to leave the next morning like nothing ever happened. Still, it made Cas feel a little better knowing she still cared, but she was dealing with it her way. Or, as Cas liked to say, she was dealing with feelings the Dean Winchester way. Of course, he’ll argue it wasn’t true, but he knows he won’t win that one.
Now he was sitting awkwardly in Jody’s living room watching Kaia and Patience play with Jack on the floor while Claire and Cas had a yelling match in the privacy of the backyard. Well, Claire was yelling while Cas was trying very hard to keep his tone even, which only made Claire angrier.
“I’m done talking to you!” Claire slid the glass door open and stormed through the living room.
“Then try listening to me!” Cas followed behind her, watching as she walked straight past the living room and towards the front door. “Claire. Claire, where are you going?”
She whipped around to glare daggers at Cas, eyes wide filled with tears, but she still looked at him with a pained grimace. “Did you even think of me? When you were out there being a damn hero. Did you-Did you think of me?” Her voice breaking on the last word made Dean flinch.
“Claire, of course-”
“No. No, of course, you didn’t. Cause if you did, then you wouldn’t have-” She bit her cheek as tears started to fall. She stood tall, presenting as strong, as her expression hardened. “You left me, Castiel. And now I-I don’t,” She looked around the room. It was quiet as everyone watched the interaction before her eyes landed on a little Jack in Kaia’s arms. She clicked her tongue before turning back to the door. “I’m leaving.”
“Claire.” Cas tried following her, but Dean quickly rushed up to stop him. “Dean. I may not have my strength, but I will-”
“Calm down, Rocky,” Dean had a hand on Cas’s shoulder to stop him. “I just wanted to stop you from making it worse.”
“I don’t think I can. She hates me.”
“She doesn’t.” He assures his boyfriend with a little smile, but Cas simply rolled his eyes at him. “Okay, you stay here. Talk to your son, and I’ll go talk to the other kid.”
“Oh yeah? What are you going to say to her?”
“I don’t know, but like you said before. Two fuck up’s just understand each other.”
“I didn’t say-”
“Yeah. Yeah. Just let me handle this. You trust me, right?”
Cas made a face at that, not answering quickly enough before he said, “Just bring her home.”
“Gee. Thanks for the confidence, babe.”
Dean ran after Claire, forcing his way to her passenger side as she started to back up on the driveway.
“Thanks for waiting, kid. Where we going?” Dean buckled up just in time for Claire to slam the breaks. Unfortunately, he hit his head on the front dash because the damn seat was scooted forward, his knees were practically pressed against his chest, which made sense knowing a tiny Kaia would usually occupy the seat. “Ow.”
“You aren’t going anywhere. Get out.”
Dean ignored her scary and oddly familiar glare as he pushed the seat back so his legs could fit. “Oh, come on. My treat.”
She didn’t have time to argue because Cas walked out of the front door—his trust in him really was lacking—and Claire decided that dealing with Dean was much easier than having to talk to Cas again. But, of course, he would take that as a compliment.
Claire drove with loud rocker girl music vibrating the windows and didn’t stop until she finally parked outside some ice cream shop.
“I want a shake.” She sniffled, and Dean did his best to ignore her red blotchy eyes for her sake.
“Sure, kid.”
They drank their shakes and shared some fries while sitting on top of Claire’s ugly little red. Well, she sat, and he leaned, but either way, silence remained.
He didn’t want to pressure her to talk—she would probably lie if he did—but still, he wanted to ease the tension between Cas and her, salvage a relationship he knew was important to both of them, but he didn’t know where to start.
Maybe he could start with his own guilt.
“I’m sorry.” He cleared his throat as he felt the smooth ice cream start to turn to gum down his throat. He looked down at his shake, lifting the straw up and down to hear the gloppy sound while trying to figure out what to say to her.
She hummed, “‘bout what?”
“Not telling you. About Cas. What happened to him.” He sighed and looked back at her. “Sorry. I should have called, but I wasn’t—I was a mess. I couldn’t be there for you. I couldn’t even be there for Jack. I should have-”
“It’s okay.” She waved her hand up to stop him. “I-I get it. I mean, it’s not, but whatever.”
“So, are you gonna tell me why you’re mad?”
She rolled her eyes, once again the gesture was familiar, before slamming the shake on the hood and sliding off the car. She crossed her arms over her chest, looking so small as she kicked a pebble on the floor.
“He replaced me.”
Her voice was quiet. Almost like she didn’t want to admit it out loud.
“I know it’s stupid and-and I’m acting like a child, but…” She quickly sniffled again before running her hand through her hair nervously. Looking up to stare into the darkening sky, acting like everything was okay. “He’s not my Dad, but he’s the closest thing I have, and I just thought—I just thought that maybe he felt the same way.”
She shrugged, her lips pinching together as if trying to hold something back, before retaking control of her expression. A glare directed towards Dean replaced the lost child stare into the stars, but the lost child was still there.
“Kid…” Dean sighed, head scrambling for words.
“I’m not a kid.”
“You’ll always be a kid to me.”
Claire teased with a little smirk. She definitely learned this from Dean or Jody. “Whatever you say, old man.”
“Old—Claire.” She let out a breath of a laugh before rolling her eyes away from Dean. “I’m trying to be serious. Cas… he loves you. He-he loves you like you were his own.” She didn’t look at him, but he could see her face scrunch up, ready to argue. “He worries about you constantly, and Jack knows all about you because he won’t shut up about how awesome you are.”
“He says that? He says I’m awesome?”
“Well, awesome is my word, but you get the gist.” He turns to face her even though she doesn’t meet his gaze. “Cas may not be your Dad, but he loves you like a daughter. Sometimes—yeah, a lot of the time actually—he makes stupid decisions, but it’s cause he is trying his best. And he cares. That dumbass cares way too much about the damn world, but he’s also someone who would give up the whole world if it meant keeping you safe.”
“Stop making excuses for him!”
“Claire, you gotta believe me. He didn’t mean to hurt you.”
She finally turned to look at him. “But he did. He hurt me! He left me!”
“He left me too!” Dean raised his voice; it sounded broken to admit such a thing out loud. And to Claire of all people. He slumped down against the car again and looked at the ground to ignore her big blue eyes throwing sympathy glares his way. “He left me—more times than you know. And—and don’t tell anyone I told you this—but I…I was scared. Each goddamn time I’m scared that this may be it! That this time…this time he won’t come back to me.”
“But he did.” Her voice sounded so far away.
“Yeah. Had to work a little bit harder on my end, but I got him.” He reached over and patted her shoulder. “We got him back.”
Something in the way her eyes went cold and far away made his fight drain out. He didn’t know what else he could do or say, but he opened his arms just in time to have her fall against him. His face mushed into her curls while he hugged her tight into his chest.
“Were you mad at Cas?”
Dean thought about it for a second. “No. I mean, I was at first. That asshole got himself killed over and over again. Leaving me alone.”
“But you had Sam. Jack.”
“Yeah,” Dean pulled back and looked down at her. “Well, you had Jody. Kaia. Alex. Patience and even Donna. Made it any easier for you?”
“No.”
“No.” He chuckled while she hid her face from him, asking him to continue. “But I was mad at him. Real fucking pissed, actually. At him. At…at everyone. Sam and Jack didn’t even wanna be near me.” He tries to shake off those dark memories of screaming and feeling nothing but agonizing loneliness. “I just shut down and gave up on…a lot of things because he was gone. Couldn’t really see a point, you know?”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”
“I get why you’re mad, Claire. Trust me, I do, but he’s back now.”
“And I’m just supposed to forgive him? Did you just forgive him?”
Dean shrugged, looking back down at her sad baby blues. Hoping she would understand and that she won’t tease him about it later on. “I didn’t want to waste any time being mad at him. I love him too much.”
“Gross.” She pushed him away this time, tucking her hair behind her ear before smiling at him. It reminded him of Jack’s little shy smile. “But I-I think you’re right. Maybe I’m done wasting time.”
They drove back with the music luckily a little lower but Dean just watched Claire drive with a growing smile on his face. He’s gonna have to admit that Cas was right, two messed up people can really relate and help each other out.
When they walked into the house, Dean took Jody from marching over to Claire to lecture her. “Just wait,” he whispered to her, and luckily she listened to him. They both held their breath as Claire walked over to Cas—who looked like he had been sitting in that seat freaking out since they left—and asked if they could try talking outside again. He blinked up at her a few times before nodding, following her to the backyard again.
Everyone let out a sigh of relief when the glass door closed behind them.
“Dean.” He looked up towards his kid, who reached for him from Kaia’s arms on the couch. Dean quickly walked over to pick him up, pressing a kiss to his head while trying not to let guilt eat at him. “Is Dad okay?”
“Don’t worry, bud.” Dean watched Jack’s eyes that showed how much he has experienced, how much he understood. “He’ll be fine.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
On the drive back, Cas had a smile plastered across his face. They hadn’t had a chance to talk about what happened, considering Cas walked in, ready to introduce Jack to Claire. Then Cas spent the rest of the night watching his kids getting along, looking the happiest Dean had seen him in a really long time.
“So, what did you and Claire talk about?”
Cas hummed before looking up at Dean as if just remembering that he was there. “Oh. Um, she just made me promise her something.”
“And what’s that?”
“Same thing I promised you. Don’t get dead anymore.”
“Oh. Good. Keep that promise.”
“I’ll do my best.” Cas looked back at Jack before he leaned over and pressed a kiss on Dean’s cheek. “I have a lot to live for now. A family.”
A family. Yeah.
Dean took a peek at Jack with the mirror and then watched as Cas changed his phone background pic to one of Claire spinning Jack around in the living room.
They were a real family.
