Spoilers Loki s2 e5
I have a lot to say!!! (this will be long)
Ok first of all this scene made me laugh a lot because of how randomly they presented the original timeline of Mobius, he looks like a child playing (oh and him being a single dad it makes a lot of sense to me)
expectation:
Tumblr media
reality:
Tumblr media
Oh my f*cking god If I liked O.B before, now I love him with all my soul! He is not only a nerdy genius but a science fiction geek whose passion is to be a writer!!! And why didn't they let him keep his books in the bookstore?! I would gladly buy them!! Just look at his face, he needs a hug :(
Tumblr media
AND WHY THE FUCK DID THEY NOT HELP HIM WHEN THE BOOKS DROPPED ON HIM?! IT COSTS NOTHING TO BE KIND DAMN IT
Tumblr media
Ok, I think we've all realized that O.B's workshop is the same as the basement where he works at the TVA, maybe he was the one who created the TVA after all? btw how beautiful the photography is in this entire series.
Tumblr media
I admit it, I laughed my ass off at this scene, I apologize (make it a meme pls lol) Honestly, this whole scene and the interactions that O.B had with Loki made me laugh (when Loki tries to control his timeslipping or when O.B electrocutes him as scientific proof)
Tumblr media
This scene where Loki adjusts his hair and his jacket to see Mobius 👀 (he only does it with him) I wonder what the Sylki fans have to say
Tumblr media
Remember how I said I hated Hunter X5/Brad Wolfe? Well I was wrong, there is one person I hate more, her. Girl, they're literally telling you that everything is going to shit and you don't give a damn? On top of that, when they tell you that you are selfish, do you take it naturally as if it were something to be proud of? Why are you like this? The worst thing of all is that when Loki says he wants his friends back she calls him selfish, not sweetheart, that's not being selfish. Being selfish is turning a blind eye to a problem that you mainly caused. Loki's fear of being alone is understandable and justified since he felt that way all his life and has done all the things he did for that same reason, which It's being really selfish, it's the opposite, wanting to be alone and forget your friends and not care that their timelines are falling apart. Sylvie you are a hypocrite (sorry I had to vent)
Tumblr media
AAAAAAAAAA I'M GOING TO CRY GOD. I said it and I will always say it Loki needs a hug 😭 This scene is super moving because it shows us Loki's true purpose, he just wants his friends back, who are also people he hasn't known for a long time but who were attentive to him (btw Tom Hiddleston always shines in all his scenes )
Tumblr media
This scene...holy shit this scene was scary. I think it's even more terrifying than Thanos' snap.
Tumblr media
It's overwhelming how everything around her disappears in seconds leaving her in literal emptiness. There is absolutely nothing left, only threads floating in an enveloping blackness. When I saw that scene I felt empty and desolate.
Tumblr media
OH SHIT HERE WE GO AGAIN...
Tumblr media
NOOOOOOO MOBIUS NOT YOU (He just wanted to save his children 😭)
Tumblr media
Loki's face when he sees his friend disappear D: (I'm having deja vu from the first season when Mobius was pruned)
Tumblr media
Sylvie too?! Why does she disappear and Loki doesn't? (By the way, you just arrived Sylvie when you realize that everything is disappearing? really?)
Tumblr media
Ok this is a nightmare for Loki, he was left alone and couldn't do anything to avoid all that, I think it's the most hopeless scene of the episode :( (And the way he tries to grab those threads…I'm broken)
Tumblr media
OK HEAR ME OUT BECAUSE I HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS SCENE. I think the background voices help a lot with the feeling of anguish and helplessness that Loki feels, for not being able to save what he loved most, his friends. And when you feel overwhelmed by all those voices and at the end one stands out and it's Sylvie's voice saying something like what makes a Loki a Loki is the fact that we are destined to lose? That's when he screams in despair and goes back in time just a few seconds earlier and manages to control his timeslipping. And I must say that at first when I saw this scene it reminded me a lot of the scene from the movie "Ella Enchanted" when she is forced to kill the prince and she is surrounded by mirrors and begins to remember moments of her life such as when her mother told him to trust her or something like that (I don't remember the scene much, I saw it years ago lol) the point is that she refuses with all her heart to obey that order and in a moment of desperation she screams just like Loki and she says that she will no longer be obedient and drops the dagger, freeing herself from the spell. I don't know if you understand my point because I'm bad at explaining, but I think that the love he feels for his friends was what made him go back in time, that strong desire to want to make things right and that determination to say "this isn't true." It can end like this, I decide what is going to happen" (free will) I think that is what makes him finally able to control the situation, love is the most powerful force. Something similar happens in the movie "Tomorrowland" I think.
Tumblr media
This scene is really powerful, the background music, the phrases that Loki says, the context of the scene, it is cinema. I think you don't need an action scene or scenes for a scene to be epic and move you. This is epic with so little, it is simple but effective. And the music is really the icing on the cake, it is so hopeful and gives strength to the moment when Loki returns to the TVA being able to fulfill his mission, I cried. Loki has evolved into a hero who saves the day and everyone.
Tumblr media
And that ending??! Oh no the cliffhanger again..
Tumblr media
Phew I know this was very long but I really needed this kind of catharsis, never has a Loki episode left me with so many emotions and beautiful things like this one. I laughed, I got excited, I cried and I was scared. I am very happy with the evolution of Loki and each episode that passes wins my heart more, I can't wait to see the next chapter. Everything is perfect in this series, the music, the settings, the actors, etc. It shows that it is made with the heart

Thoughts on Loki S2E3!
Henceforth and forevermore, Loki and Mobius shall be known as “The Wizard Gentleman and His Butler”
This whole episode had such an interesting vibe. I loved the way they utilized the film/storytelling styles of the time period, with all the melodramatic acting and ragtime score. But, it was also just so different, it took me out of the story at times. I really like it when the show feels grand and ethereal and sci-fi-ish. Still feel like we’re missing some of that this season, but the tonal shifts were a cool storytelling tool nonetheless.
We don’t talk about Mobius and Ravonna enough. Their relationship fascinates me. I love how patient he is with her, how much he genuinely wants her back on his side. The parallels between them and Loki/Sylvie seem very intentional this season. (Ps. I may or may not have a theory that they were married on the timeline, and one or both of their nexus events involved Ravonna leaving him for a Kang Variant. Has anyone theorized about this before and I’m just completely late to the game, or…? Guess we’ll find out soon enough?)
I don’t know how much more of Loki and Sylvie fighting I can take. 😭They’re struggling! They need each other! They both think the other doesn’t care about them anymore and they can’t get a moment to talk about it because the universe is melting! Please, Marvel, just LET THEM REST!!! 😭😭😭
All that said, I am SO👏PROUD👏of my girl Sylvie for starting to recognize that her bloodlust is killing her from the inside out. This is exactly the kind of growth I want for her. Her heartbroken expression when she realizes that killing Timely would make her just like He Who Remains, choosing who lives and who dies for the sake of the greater good… *chefs kiss* Sophia Di Martino knocked that WHOLE PERFORMANCE out of the park.
Also, as much as I want her and Loki to just hug and make up, I do kind of love the fact that he’s giving her the space she needs to come to these conclusions on her own. He’s been where she is (felt what she feels, etc.). He knows that no amount of persuasion on his part is going to get through to her right now, so he’s letting her figure it out while he works behind the scenes to protect her new life. He’ll be there when she’s ready to take those next steps towards reconciliation (and he better have 10,000 snuggly tablecloths ready because sweet girl needs to be cuddled. A LOT).
Watching Miss Minutes shift from one dated style of animation to another filled my little animator heart with so much glee. And yes, that whole scene of her coming on to Timely was delightfully terrifying.
Poor Victor Timely did not ask for any of this when he woke up this morning. Give that man a break.
Ravonna is… awful. I’ve always disliked her. But honestly, hearing her monologue about how often she put the TVA before her own happiness, how it stole her humanity from her… I’m kind of invested in her growth now. Like, I’m starting to want redemption for her, too. Huh.
Literally everyone in this show is on the same side. They’re all just disagreeing about what the proper course of action is. My guy Mobius’s words are really impacting me right now: “We’ve all lost our way… but someone’s got to keep track of the big picture here.” If that doesn’t ring true of our world, then I don’t know what does.

Loki S2E2 Spoilers!
I liked it :)
Tumblr media
hehehehhehehehe loki is so cool i love him sm
Here are some things Iiked!
The opening scene??? Where he's using his sexy little magic to do his sexy little biddings like my man is so fine in a 19th century suit??? I love that he only starts to go full-attacko mode when he sees bradley attacking mobius - like don't you dare lay a finger on my man
That dialogue between him and Bradley. I love that we're tapping into Loki's darker side, that he's not afraid to be the villain if villain is what he needs to be. To threaten, to intimidate, to girlboss, gatekeep and gaslight-
Okay. Okay but Bradley? I will be calling him bradley instead of hunter x-5 because that's what he wanted to be called [side-eyeing the subtitles] but anyway Bradley is also a little meow meow I saw him in the first ep I was like damn this must be a lawful good kinda guy, and then I see him in this ep I was like hooooo noooo I was so wrong. You are a chaotic little bitch. I like him. Needs a hug, probably. Man just wanted to live a life outside of the TVA. Still don't get why he didn't just tell them where Sylvie was and save himself the pain though? Maybe it was just to be a little bitch who knowwwssss
My mind is already conjuring enemy-to-caretaker scenarios between loki and bradley man. bradley needs pat on the head i think
Mobius. Loki. Look.
Tumblr media
I'm not seeing things, am I? That genuine adoration in Loki's eyes, the way he knows how to calm Mobius down, the way he knows that something's wrong with Mobius even though he denies it. The way in the last scene when Sylvie walks away from him, when he says, "It makes it harder to stay." He turns around and places a hand on Mobius' shoulder. Implying that he's staying with the TVA because of Mobius. Maybe not all of the reason, because he knows the world's all going to shit and he thinks the TVA is the last line of defense but PART of the reason is DEFINITELY Mobius and I. I might start shipping them now.
Like I don't mind if their relationship stays platonic in canon, cz platonic friendships are just as slay as romantic ones but. the potential.
I love O.B. too. There's no reason not to. In fact the only option is to love him. I don't make the rules.
Sylvie's being a bit mean to Loki this time round I think. Like, girlie you kicked him out the door and he just wants to keep the world safe 🥺 but I do like that her response to the possibility of more Kangs is simply: murder. My girl is a girlboss for sure.
Also! I loved Loki's brief mention of throwing Tony out the window; made me smile with nostalgia :)))))))))
All in all, this episode really played on both the heavy and light notes that make up the symphony of Loki - he's kind to those he holds close to his heart, he's downright murderous to anyone else that comes against him. i love him.

What happened with: Maybe we could figure it out together? [Thoughts after S02E06]
My impressions of the story that I loved so much and that destroyed me so emotionally.
Yes, the second series is brilliant outside - great acting, visuals, music, epic finale. Yeah, it's beautiful at first and I can understand so much excitement and ovations about how great it is. But… when I look at the first series and compare it to the second, there are so many things missing. Damn it!
First season had soul, the creators focused mostly on the characters, on their growth, on emotions, on details, on the play of colors. For example, the scene in the Citadel and the conversation between Sylvie and Loki… absolutely breathtaking scene that they turned into a farce in the second series. (When HWR had erased Sylvie from the scene it was so gross it almost made me jump out of my chair.) At what point did a show that was about two people and their journey become a show about one person? What happened with "You go. I go.", "Maybe… maybe we could figure it out together."?
Why did Marvel put out a novelization confirming their feelings for each other, all that unspoken words, if they didn't want to work with that relationship properly in the second season? The relationship between those two was the heart of the entire first season. Yes, Loki was looking for Sylvie… yes, he was looking at her with his sad puppy eyes every time he saw her… but so what… for what? If they never once discussed about things - what happened, about their feelings, anything about them at all? And at the end, out of the blue, "I'm doing it for you"… but all the time without you.
They use his love for her to learn to control the slippage, to work things out, to sacrifice everything for her and for his friends. But when has Loki ever had time to truly be friend anyone other than Mobius? Yeah, they were dealing with the same problem, but before his "rewriting the story", those people were almost strangers to him… and he sits there with Sylvie at the bar and tells her that he's all about his friends… where some deeper relationship is pulled out of absolutely nowhere.
They both mutually think the other doesn't need the other in their lives anymore, and the way Loki handles everything on his own makes it seem that way. Still, it's Sylvie who makes him start to change why he does what he does along the way. So why wasn't there a scene where he finally fills her in properly on all of this? Why did they show us that he "trying everything" at the Citadel when it didn't seem like that at all, and make Sylvie out to be some obsessed murderess who can't see or hear what's going on around her? Why were there so many allusions to enchantment when they never used it to allow Sylvie to finally fully understand Loki? And I can think of more and more questions like that! I don't even want to imagine what the "real memories" Loki left in Sylvie's head after all this.
I also don't understand how they made the main female character a completely peripheral character that they clearly didn't know how to handle or lead. They had her thrown in for a twist here and there, but otherwise they had her there for decoration? Such an interesting character that they turned into a looped figure that doesn't understand what's going on. A side character who just stood on the sidelines for nothing? The girl was a goddess, just like Loki, so what the hell? That's how untapped the potential is. It was a pain to watch and especially in the finale. Sophia, I'm really sorry. You and Sylvie deserved so much better. That mysogyny was disgusting.
I really tried to take all the episodes with a grain of salt, expecting that there was surely a reason… that everything would somehow become clear, that I couldn't judge without the whole context… but the whole picture just confirmed to me that the creators were just pushing the story and the characters into situations that absolutely missed the fundamentals of the first series.
Yes, it could have had exactly the ending it had, if it had to be. But the path should have been different. Why does he have close people around him and then he is alone in everything? I stand by the fact that this should have been handled by both of them. That they should have either ended up there "at the end of time" together or they should have given them some kind of goodbye, a scene where they talk about it, where Loki tells her he doesn't want her to go there with him, that he wants her to live (like when it was in NWH between Peter and MJ, for example, when he told her what was going on, what he had to do and they dealt with it together) or a scene where Sylvie was free to make her own decision. She should have been able to decide and have a say in all of this.
For me, this build-up was unprecedentedly cruel to them from start to finish. I have to say that the ending made me cry, and I can count on one hand the number of times I've cried at a movie or TV show. This completely destroyed me, how long nothing. What was it supposed to give me? No matter what I do, it will never be enough? Will I have to lose everything I want and live with my biggest fears forever? Or?
So… in summary, if you're all about the epic story and not the characters and real relationships, you'll probably be thrilled… otherwise, you might have the same mixed feelings as I did. I know that Marvel is no soap opera… but they often present love and relationships in a very painful way, I get really sick of it sometimes. It's not always about epic twists and sacrifices…
I'm still here. I love Sylki, I love Tom and Sophia. But the second season hurts like hell. I don't even know if I want to see it again. To be honest, I don't even know how to deal with it. Is there any hope? Who knows… it's getting harder and harder to hope.

Other ship I dislike beside sylki and it's lokius.
Honestly I very understand why they shop Loki and mobius (beside they want gay couple). It's interaction , even hollow and all shit loki reply what mobius said, different with Sylvie , loki just quite. Also o think it's because Owen Wilson self Dan his chemistry with Tom are look more real than with shopia.
But no, the ship not more healthy than ylki because well mobius is not nice and kind to loki either, his nice is pretty much like he give candy as bait and he have knife behind his back. And his 'kindness ' is loom hollow and fake.
I really feel annoyed that many fans said mobius is loki Jimmy cricket. Did, he is worse than loki. Or the compared mobius with aziraple. I may not really know aziraple but I know definitely aziraple is nice, respect and kind to demon Crowley. Something mobius never did and never will do.
Oh , I see a fanart that frigga thank to mobius. Okey, whoever drawing that they forgetting that mobius lie to loki and balme to loki that loki kill frigga, his mother and lead loki to breakdown.
Mobius is like Sylvie and rest of Asgard family bad and toxic peoples that claimed they care and kind to loki but never showing it to loki.
I am very disappointed that narrative keep saying he is loki's friend and nice to him. Are they blind or stupid ?
So the thing is about the Sylvie Loki ship is there is so little of a relationship at all I can't really call it abusive. Mobius and Loki is incredibly abusive. Like Mobius is constantly belittled and insulting Loki and any compliments is undermine with condescension. Mobius is using Loki and will and does half way through the series condemn Loki to pain and death when he doesn't do what he's want.
The idea Mobius is any kind moral center or influence of good is so wrong. Mobius wanted Loki to join the TVA, the people who as the show itself state are people who annihilate universe is and orphan little girls. The very first scene is Mobius unhesitantly condemning a child to non-existence. It doesn't matter if Mobius thinks he working for the greater good because his actions are horrible and that's what he wanted Loki to do.
At no point does Mobius encourage Loki to save a cat from a tree, save someone from burning building or just be more thoughtful to others. No he wanted help capturing Sylvie so the TVA could go on unhindered and keep being a Fascist knight templar cult. All the good Loki displays, the sympathy for the people on lamentis and the kindness to Sylvie that is just the good Loki always was. Mobius just tears Loki down and then is awarded a gold star because he reluctantly says "Well, actually you can be good Loki." what a joke
Can we get frostiron back to being the popular Loki mlm ship. Because I may have some issues with Tony but at least he didn't torture Loki, be complicit in daily genocide and institutionalized assault

Spreading some love for nice ask day to people's inboxes!
How did you get into the Lokius and/or TMFU fandoms originally?
Thank you for your question ❤
I got in the Lokius fandom quite naturally as I already was into Marvel and liked Loki a lot (though I didn't ship him with anyone at the time). I still didn't watch the series immediately as I was busy at the time. I didn't even know Owen Wilson was playing in it, until one day my sister came with her phone and asked me "you want to see Owen Wilson speak French?" and, well, I had already heard him speak french in Oreo ads, but how could I say no to more French speaking Owen Wilson? She showed me the church scene where Mobius talks to the little girl and I was stunned because "??!!Owen Wilson is in the Loki show?? With a moustache!!??" I was even more willing to watch it 😁
It wasn't long once I did for me to ship Loki with agent Mobius Mobius Mobius 😊. Loki, after all his comments about humans (and Thor's relationship with Jane), getting to know, trust, fall for someone that could be described as "just some guy", and Mobius who cares, opens a door, and starts to question his entire reality because he trusts in Loki...
(Also, fun fact (well, not sure it is fun but...) that I heard the ship name "Lokius" before I knew of Mobius and I imagined that it must have included Loki and some guy name Lucius...)
As for TMFU, I remember seeing the movie posters in train stations and being a bit confused at first. Because the title: "the Man from UNCLE" had been translated to "Agents très spéciaux : Code UNCLE" ("Very special agents: code UNCLE") and, as it happens, the TV show "White Collar" is called "FBI: duo très spécial" in French ("FBI: very special duo"...don't ask me why, seems like french translators like special agents a lot...), well my first thought was that they made a movie based on the series. A few research later I realised it wasn't the case... Still, a funny spie movie set in the 60s, an American and a Russian working together? I knew I had to see it!
And I loved it so much honestly I went twice to the cinema to see it! After seeing it once, I didn't know if I liked Illya/Gaby or Illya/Napoleon better, but upon seeing it twice, I realised I was more of a Napollya fan (that scene with the "You know what my mission is?"...it really gets to me 😆).

B-15's Backstory: Incoherent Thoughts
Because I'm still not over this, and not likely to be over this any time soon. I've been sending my friend near constant stream-of-consciousness texts about this all day. Now you get to deal with it. Headcanons, theories, reactions, etc. Spoilers for Loki episode 2x05 and probably Loki: Agent of Asgard.
I'm literally just typing up my texts about B-15/Verity, so they really are incoherent/stream-of-consciousness. I'm not kidding when I say I've been thinking about her all day. I'm aware this is almost certainly just an easter egg, but my brain does not work that way when I get a hint of something I love.
She found him before Mobius did. She's been with him all along!!!
Besides Sylvie he loses her last in episode five. ;.; She finds him first in 1x01, and she's the last agent he loses in 2x05.
If Tom Hiddleston does not say "Verity" at some point in episode six I won't know what to do with myself. Then again if he does, I'm going to have to pause the episode to cry for twenty minutes.
Tumblr media
I wrote this TWO WEEKS AGO. A part of me knew.
Tumblr media
I complained about Loki not being on my birthday month for my calendar but IT'S VERITY I'M OKAY WITH IT. [The thing draped over her is a palm from Palm Sunday. It's the only place in my apartment it's able to hang.]
Oh my god if B-15 is not outright confirmed to be able to detect lies in the next episode I'm gonna ignore everything the writers try to tell me and I'm going to do a whole rewatch explicitly to catalog all of her interactions and assess if I can conclude that she has this power in the MCU. She already only needed Sylvie to tell her to her face that Sylvie didn't create C-20's memories and she believed her.
Personally I want that scene from the mid-season trailer where Loki's like "I'm a fast learner" and everyone else just takes him at his word, but then I want B-15 to be like '...This boi's acting sus.' And everyone else gets to work, and she pulls him aside and is like, "What are you up to?" And he's like, "Nothing." And she's like, "I know you're lying." Basically if someone (Loki) says something in the episode that I know as a viewer is a lie and they do a fairly decent job of acting convincing (none of this over-the-top terrible lying bullshit to really drive home to the audience that they're lying), and B-15 says the words "I know you're lying," I'm sold. I won't rewatch everything to figure it out. I'll be convinced she can detect lies.
No but Sylvie and B-15 becoming ride or die bffs, no romance, like Loki and Verity are in the comics would give me LIFE.
I've come up with another way they can imply B-15 can detect lies next episode. If at some point Loki just starts telling his friends about their lives on the timeline instead of doing the memory magic, and he turns to OB and goes, "You... are a brilliant writer." And B-15 is in the frame, and she doesn't say anything, either in that moment or as an aside to Loki, but she just twitches a little at the lie. I'll lose my fucking mind. If that and the one season one interaction with Sylvie is all we get as implicative confirmation, I'll fucking take it. My girl can detect lies. Sold. Done.
[Not really a headcanon or anything, but just to show you I'm a fool irl too] Also I came in, [my dad] said, "Hi, what's up?" And I said, "B-15 is Verity Willis." And then I grinned like a lunatic even though he has no clue who Verity is and I know he has no clue who Verity is.
We currently do not have any evidence that B-15 is not ace, so Verity is still 100% ace in the MCU, too.

I rewatched Loki (and got progressively angrier), here are the highlights:
(featuring my queer analysis/rewrites hehe)
Episode 1
22:03 - “if looks could kill” Mobius ab and to Loki
22:05 - “What do you want from me?” “Well, let's start with a little cooperation.” “Not my forte” “really? Even when you’re wooing someone powerful you intend to betray? Come on.” Mobius and Loki - GAY
24:35 - “I am smart.” “I know.” “okay…” “.. okay” actual weirdos
Episode 2
5:13 - Loki ‘reading’ Mobius’s jet ski magazine hehehehe
14:03 - “Look, I know you have a soft spot for broken things.” Ravonna to Mobius as he talks about why he should be allowed to keep Loki alive
16:30 - Loki adjusting Mobius’s tie as he talks about how ‘adorable’ it is that Mobius thinks he can manipulate him, because hes a freak
24:34 - “Loki, i've studied almost every moment of your entire life” Mobius literally what is with you
24:53 - Pompeii scene my beloved
Episode 3
7:16 - “don't ever call me that” “Tech savvy?” “no, a Loki.” Sylvie and Loki silly funny sibling behaviour
22:15 - “You’re a prince. Must’ve been would-be-princesses or perhaps, another prince.” “A bit of both. I suspect the same as you.” ah the beloathed line that haunts my nightmares
31:28 - “y’know, i feel like i've told you so much about me, i really don't know the first thing about you.” yeah ‘cause there is LITERALLY NOTHING TO LEARN ABOUT HER Sylvie is so badly written it actually kills me
Episode 4
7:26 - “like me being born the Goddess of Mischief” - Sylvie is arrested by the TVA for having been born a girl, and presumably that later meaning that if she wanted to she could become a Valkyrie if she wanted to - which i'm fairly certain it's mentioned that Loki wanted to be a Valkyrie when he was younger. This is actually so fucking stupid. The file on our Loki variant states that they were born with a “fluid” sex (whatever the fuck that means), and we are to assume that a lot of parts of variants are intrinsically the same between each other, so you’d assume that Sylvie would also be born with a “fluid” sex
10:07 - Loki and Sylvie are finally bonding by discussing what “makes a Loki a Loki” and Loki insisting that its their collective ability to survive - of course they have to be fucking weird about it which causes a Nexus event, because plot i guess
11:00 - i hate that we don't get to actually see Loki and Sylvie get picked up
12:39 - isn't it a little fun, a little silly, that the bad memory Loki is stuck in is Sif saying “I hope you know you deserve to be alone and you always will be”
17:17 - it's interesting however that it doesn't really hit for Loki until after hes admitted that he does things for attention because he's scared of being alone - BUT i don't like that that is probably reason that the writers had for him falling for Sylvie, him thinking that because she is like him that she has similar fears and thus wouldn't do something to lose that companionship, rather instead it would have been interesting in its use to how Loki has inexplicably grown attached to Mobius of all people (especially because it is immediately followed by Mobius coming in)
15:27 - “aren’t you supposed to be interrogating your variant pet?” r15 to Mobius
19:11 - “I'm going to miss these little tete-a-tetes.” “Me too.” mocking from Mobius, a bit more genuine from Loki
20:59 - “you like her.” Mobius to Loki about Sylvie - im going to kill myself
22:14 - “your female self” good god im going to drown myself its so bad - neither Loki nor Sylvie should be considered a male or female version of the other, because they are both NEITHER male or female, they are both “fluid” in sex - the writers clearly did not know, nor give a fuck about the queerness of Loki and the character it actually makes me want to tear my own head off
34:26 - okok, i think it's fun and a little silly that Loki has a big reaction to Mobius being pruned, one that's harder for him to conceal than the one when he's told that Sylvie’s been pruned - but also, a bit nitpicky here i know, it's really dumb that he's just standing there, he doesn't even try to reach out to Mobius to move him out of the way or anything
41:18 - the “No, i have to tell you something” & “back on lamentis…. This is new for me.” & grabbing Sylvie’s shoulders - clearly supposed to set up the idea that Loki has some-fucking-how fallen for Sylvie (which is dumb as even worse written than most straight relationships) and wants to tell her now? For some reason? HOWEVER, it could have so easily been (and would have been better) instead, him trying to tell her that he trusts her and sees her as a partner in crime and a friend. Because that's the whole thing, right? Loki is scared of being alone, and yet doesn't do friends, and doesn't do partners, because he knows that he will always be alone anyways. The nexus event is him finding solace in the fact that he will die beside a friend rather than alone like he's always known he would. But nooo selfcest is definitely better than meaningful friendships, why dont you fucking kill me for thinking otherwise. Anyways he gets pruned here anyways so L Loki, fucking loser.
Episode 5
Unrelated but where the hell did the Lokis get their clothes - like, i get Sylvie because shes been fucking off all over the timeline for a long time, but everyone in the void? Why do they have their clothes
Again it seriously kills me that Sylvie has no character - no likes, no goals outside of destroying the TVA, no self-reflection, she's the woman character that is smarter and cooler than her male counterparts because they need to be looked after in order to not be killed
Another note on this, we can get a vague idea of what Loki will want when everything is over - he jokes about wanting to rule an entire universe/timeline, but in reality everyone knows he will just want to go somewhere where he's cared about and seen as equal, somewhere where he won't be alone - but we don't know what Sylvie will want, we cant even conceive an idea, because all we know is that she wants the TVA and whoever controls it gone, and we can assume that she wanted to be a valkyrie when she was little, but we know literally nothing else about her, so we have to assume either her and Loki are going to figure out their paths together, or that she will go off to figure it out on her own and we won't hear or see her again until she has a dumb cameo I think i would respect how little we know about Sylvie if it were a “i've spent so much of my life surviving and fixated on this one thing that i haven't had time to figure out who i am as a person and what i like and what i want after its all over”, but we never get anything like this, at least in any kind of depth that would make it good The Strong Woman trope is what I was looking for
16:04 - “Have any of you met a woman variant of us?” “Sounds terrifying.” i'm going to bash my head against the wall until my brains are crawling out the other side
Whoo president Loki, aka the only version of Loki selfcest i can stand behind, because at least commit to the bit if you're gonna do it
The one black Loki is the overly aggressive one that betrays everyone first, because what else should we expect from hollywood. Fucks sake
I do adore that the Lokis have so easily adopted Mobius within their little group and how good he is at understanding all of them
30:18 - “Mobius isn't so bad” “or so good. I think that's why we get along.” “he cares about you” Sylvie and Loki
okay, I'm not saying that they should have made Mobius the love interest, however I absolutely am saying that. I personally think that would be far more compelling than the selfcest plot, it wouldn't be out of nowhere like i'm sure some may argue because so much of this show was spent on showing that Mobius is the only person that's been able to truly understand Loki and get a good read on them and Loki views him as a friend despite it all, on the other hand i think the selfcest plotline is absolutely out of nowhere, but its not viewed as such because its portrayed as straight and thus expected, they have little to no romantic chemistry, they have had very very very few scenes where they are interacting positively with each other that aren't surrounded with the fact that they are working together because they have the same goal and are trying to survive and most of those interactions are sandwiched between arguing.  I just think this scene could have easily been about Loki acknowledging that he cares about Mobius in a way that he doesn't think he has anyone else before, Sylvie could make a call back to her mailman, and then Loki can go quiet and amongst that have the blanket thing w/o the strange glances and awkward pauses and then they can discuss betrayal and what they want to do once everything is all over
31:48 - “i dont have friends. I don't have… anyone.” Sylvie - well now you do because thats all that this will be right? :D ← the face of denial
36:47 - “looks like you got away in the end” Mobius to Loki - you are a homosexual
37:09 - the lokius hug & Loki’s face before it
40:48 - “I don't know how” “you do, because we’re the same.” Loki and Sylvie - well you dont fucking say! Gee golly! Who woulda thunk it? Certainly not me, Mr. sylkie-is-selfcest-no-matter-how-you-twist-it. Good god I hate this stupid show.
Episode 6
I hate this show so so much, but i do really like when the silly mascot character that is kind of overlooked as comedic relief turns out to be a vessel for the villain, or at least are more sinister than they first seemed and they just become kind of uncanny and unsettling
I also really like immortal characters that have been alive for so long that they are truly exhilarated by their end
33:45 - Loki having a “no stop, this isn't you ;(” moment is so funny
34:56 - the grossest moment of the show. Selfcest, ladies and gentlemen!
35:12 - i feel like it is very important to note that sylvie saying “but i'm not you” here, is NOT her denying that her and Loki are the same, just that the experience and feeling that Loki is expressing is not shared
39:49 - “Who are you? What's your name?” Mobius to Loki - sobs it's so upsetting i can't do this - imagine how much more tragic this scene would've been if Mobius was set up as the love interest shm my head stupid fucking show
End :))))

Unconventional writer ask game: my answers
I was tagged by @insert-witty-user-name-here, thank you, my love. I've already tagged some lovely writers in the original post. 😘 Can't wait to hear from you all.
— How long have you been writing fanfiction?
Less than a year. I'm a baby in fanfic terms.
— Do you have a favorite word? (One that you love. Doesn’t necessarily have to be one you use all the time.)
'Close' and that's probably because of when it's used, such as when two characters find themselves stuck together, faces inches apart or limbs entangled. Also, that word can be used again when a character is about to come. Basically, during sexual tension or sex.
— Share a favorite run-on sentence that you’ve written.
Don't know if this is my favourite but it is the longest one I could find.
From Beneath The Stars:
When they would sit and talk for hours, when they sat at the cafeteria hours after finishing lunch with their legs entwined, when Mobius would lead him into the elevator with a hand on the small of his back or when he gave Loki those soft smiles in the archives as they sat with piles of files around them.
— Share a bit of a scene that you’ve written that still gives you FEELS.
From Preparing For A New Arrival:
That night, as they lay in bed together and Loki was fast asleep, Mobius gently caressed his stomach, softly stroking it. “Hello, little one,” he breathed out. “Your mother doesn’t think I know but I do. I’ll do anything to keep you safe, to protect you. You’re growing every day. I can’t wait to meet you.”
— What is your favorite kind of character interaction to write?
I think I enjoy when characters are at odds with each other but in a fun way. Like when one character is flirting and the other is trying not to fall for their charm. I love the game, the chase, the tension.
— Do you have a hyper-specific genre?
Does priest kink count? Coz I definitely have that and I want to write more of it for all my ships.
I also like writing kink fics and have a bunch that's are WIPs that I need to finish and publish. Specifically, I love characters having to do something, like praying or reading out loud, while kink or smut is happening. In Praying for Salvation, it's blow jobs and praying.
— Any personal or frequently used tags?
Probably smut, followed by angst.
— Share a joke or funny moment that you’ve written that still makes you laugh.
From Sorry, Not Sorry. This whole fic made me giggle while writing it.
“Loki, if you don’t stop apologising, I’m going to come!”
— Best editing tip?
I try to have at least one read through where I say the words out loud to see if it reads alright. I don't catch every mistake but I try my best. Occasionally, I have a beta too and that's amazing to have.
— What drives you to write?
Brainrot and horniness, basically
— Share something about your writing that you have wished someone would ask you about. Or alternatively, something that you are just really proud of.
I have no idea what I'd want people to ask me, so I chose this snippet from Praying for Salvation.
“Get on your knees before me and we will pray together.” His voice was smooth and Riley felt his legs obey before his mind had even begun to process what this meant. It was only when his eyes fell once again on Father Paul’s crotch that he felt he understood what kind of worship this would be.
“Let us begin. Our Father...” the priest rhymed off the prayer as he pulled down his zip. Riley tried to get words to come out of his mouth but he couldn’t find any. It probably didn’t matter soon anyway as Father Paul’s achingly hard cock sprang out of the confines of his tight jeans.
— Where do you draw inspiration?
Anywhere. Today, I was inspired to think of Steve Harrington dressed as a goth girl after seeing a goth girl walk down the street. That may be a fic at some point. I can't escape the thought of Steve in bouncy goth boots and Eddie just staring up at him (because they are tall boots).
— What is your biggest challenge in writing?
Work and my social life primarily. Also, having too many ideas and not enough time to write all I want or choosing to do events. They're great and I love doing them but they take up time.
— What is your immediate reaction when you receive a new comment on a fic?
Incoherent screaming. It's just the best feeling. I treasure each and every comment. I remember someone said recently they wanted to print out and pin nice comments to their wall and I feel the same. It's just amazing to get a nice comment.
I remember when I got this comment on Going Down In The Elevator I couldn't believe how thoughtful it was.
I just want you to know that this is hands-down the most realistic and in-character Lokius steamy one-shot that I have read thus far! Thank you for depicting an amazing scene!! Could literally see this happening in the show. Your dialogue for both Loki and Mobius is on-point!!
— 1-2 sentence preview from your current WIP?? (Only if you are willing.)
From an untitled Geraskier foot fetish fic I'm working on.
His mouth salivated and he laved his tongue again and again around the bard’s foot.
“Hmmmm, yes. Suck on my toes.”
— What story or scene are you most proud of?
I'm very proud that I managed to bash out this almost 8k Geraskier fic in a week - Bring Your Hunger. It was for a fic/art prompt swap for @thepassifloradiscord and it's my first Witcher fic.
It's got smut. It's got angst. It's got pining. It's got denial of feelings. It's got them eventually getting together at the end.
— Please link your profile so we can admire your works!
I'm Tears_and_smiles on Ao3.

Quantumania spoilers below the cut!!!!!!!
this is going to be so messy and maybe not make that much sense but here are my thoughts
my main takeaways from this movie are 1: Scott Lang is a good dad 2: Hope is a cool stepmom 3: the Kangs are all comin and the MCU is in troubleeeeeee and 4: Cassie Lang is a sapphic. did you see the way that girl looked at Jentorra. I’m hc-ing her as either lesbian or bi.
also am I the only one absurdly happy that Hank and Janet get featured in scenes so much??? like with the MCU and I would say actually action movies in general, it’s commonly the Gen Xers and below who get all the action but Janet and Hank are older and still utter badasses and I love that honestly
KANG IS A FUCKING EPIC VILLAIN. kinda sad that he died honestly, and now everykang else is approaching our main timeline… this does not give hopeful feelings for the heroes in the near future
Veb is adorable I love him. also like that he’s played by the Baba Yaga guy.
Jentorra’s really cool! I want to be her when I grow up. She reminds me of Valkyrie.
I have this random theory that maybe Scott didn’t actually make it out of the quantum realm at the end, but maybe the ants kind of picked up on how devastated he was to never see Cassie again and made a whole version of reality like a hologram or smth inside the quantum realm to give the illusion that he’s with his family. idk that was just something I thought of that could explain the slightly cliche ending
Young Avengers movie when??????????? just off the top of my head we have Peter, Harley, Cassie, Kamala, America, Shuri and Elijah Bradley already in the MCU we just. need a reason for them all to come together and kick ass.
I know we all screamed when we saw Loki in the end credit scene but my brain malfunctioned and I just went “Tom Hiddleston is in this? Okay” before I saw Mobius and I was like “oh. oh right, Loki”
the marvel brainrot is retuning. someone help me. I just started a new fic.

Bad fighter Mobius M. Mobius is the best kind of Mobius M. Mobius, Actually.
I already loved Mobius more than most of the MCU characters before episode 6 came out, but THAT scene in Ravonna´s Office was really game changer for me. Until then I was actually sure, that this man is a great fighter. Because HOW THE FUCK COULD HE NOT BE, RIGHT? I mean...
Tumblr media
he looks so sure of himself, He´s going on those missions with trained hunters all the time, he´s fearless! And then Ravonna says: “even with that, you´re of no danger to me” And I was like: Ha! keep dreaming girl He´ll show you! And Mobius was like: “Is that what you think? Let´s see..” And I was like: Yeeees that´s my boyyyyy!!!”
Tumblr media
And then Ravonna was like...
Tumblr media
Mobius in the air in like a split of second. And I was like
Tumblr media
But Mobius freaking smiled and was like: “Yeah you were right”
Tumblr media
ok. OK. HE´S MY FUCKING FAVOURITE NOW. THERE IS NO ONE BETTER THEN HIM SORRY.  Suddenly I was lost. I was blown away. It was HE BETTER STAYS IN MCU FOREVER OR I WILL SCREAM type of feeling. So let me get this straight. He can´t fight. He probably knows that he is not a good fighter, and he...  HOLY SHIT. THE WHOLE SERIES IS SO MUCH BETTER!!! .... As much as I love the idea of strong Mobius with long hair and daggers, looking for Loki through entire universe… I´m not sure, if I really want to see that in canon. I just love this cute and non-combatant version of Mobius too much, I´m sorry! Let me explain my weird brain please: we have lots of strong heroes in MCU – those who are great fighters, or those who had to learn how to fight.   The one thing I always loved about Iron man was the fact, that he really needed his brilliant brain, his technology (suit) and bravery to fight. And in the end he was the hero who saved them all. I mean… yeah. There are side-kicks, like Happy Hogan, or Luis (Ant man´s best friend) and I LOVE them! But none of them has got as much screen time and importance, as Mobius. When I think about what I love so much about him and his dynamic with Loki, there is always this one thing that prevails: one of them is an incredibly strong but also very careful god (not when he´s drunk though) who uses a lots of strategies and plans, while the other is a tiny man in a suit who can´t fight shit but runs into the throat of a danger every chance he get and no one can´t stop him. just look at him!!!
He goes on missions with these trained hunters to just look around for clues and has no concerns about potentional harm whatsoever.
And he even finds the time to stand up for normal people and be kind to them in the process:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once Loki has no collar, on his neck he could break all Mobius´s limbs in a matter of seconds if he wanted to, but Mobius is completely sure he has nothing to worry about around his Loki. He´s not scared of ANYTHING, especially  of Loki variants. Like EVER! :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
let me break it down in detail for ya. I made a list: When they are taking Loki on his first mission outside, Loki asks, if no one is concerned that he is going to has his magic back...
Tumblr media
well, maybe someone actually is concerned by that but it sure as hell isn´t Mobius. He just simply says that he could get Loki to Time keepers if he won´t try anything and like... this one line is getting on Loki so much, that Loki even tries to use it few moments latter xD And here is the best scene ever:
Tumblr media
LOKI: “we can go anywhere!”
Tumblr media
MOBIUS: “I´m not taking you for a stroll along the promenade, much less an apocalypse” FEW MOMENTS LATTER:
Tumblr media
Hang on. Wait. So you telling me, he took this man outside without  permission, without backup (you know, hunters, that actually CAN fight), right to the apocalypse, knowing that Loki can use his powers anytime, however he wants.  It´s just...  God. I love him!!! And then he just hands him the daggers like it´s no big deal!
Tumblr media
Like are we all aware this man has no any super powers, no big strength, nor any impressive fighting skills and he is willing to give him daggers for a mission, where this god is capable of magic and everyone else in team ECCEPT mobius is at least able to fight????? And he just has that small bulletproof vest,  and a raincoat and he chats with Loki in a rain like it was a fucking another apocalyptic DATE?
Tumblr media
Ok. Let´s jump to the episode four He goes and persuades Ravonna to let him interrogate Sylvie and he is straight up arguing with her, even when he´s told how dangerous Sylvie is. This man LOVES danger!!!
Tumblr media
Once he has doubts he  decides to risk it all and  swaps TemPads right behind Ravonnas back.
Tumblr media
And he is watching it OUT LOUD in a place where anyone can show up at anytime!
Tumblr media
no but serously. This is a face of a man who is EXCITED for a dangerous adventures with Loki. Yeah, lets bring this whole place down together!
Tumblr media
And then we have this scene. Mobius really has a nerves to pull “ ha ha I had to take it by mistake” line right there.
Tumblr media
But once he understand he´s gonna die, he just take his fate with bravery and talks to Ravonna about life he really desires.
Tumblr media
And remember that time Ravonna warned him about this variant and how dangerous she is?  He casually saves her, just like that. No big deal.
Tumblr media
He even has a time to make teasing notes about how  Sylvie should be more careful jumping to a strangers car like that and how she really is one of the Lokis.
Tumblr media
And after he saves her, he manage to apologize to her  and make her to like him. EVERY FREAKING LOKI LIKES HIM! - that has to be his super power I swear And then Sylvie is like: well actually let´s go back there, I think It´s the best idea ever.  And mobius is like:  What back to the angry cloud? - oh great. fuck this why the hell not. Lets do it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so... while Loki and Sylvie are getting closer, lets show us, how literally every Loki likes Mobius (like not even alligator loki wants to hurt him, even when Mobius suggests that he is a liar I CAN´T) And just random (AGAIN) during the chat  saving Loki and Sylvie (without even knowing) when he inspires Classic Loki to change.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He offers free tickets straght to the TVA to kid Loki, classic Loki and an alligator. I mean... What a LEGEND.
Tumblr media
when he gets there he just knock on Ravonna´s door and is like - lets talk about it xDD
Tumblr media
And he isn´t even suprised to lose that fight. He makes himself comfortable on the floor: yeah you were right. Here we go again. Just prune me already, doesn´t matter, I have my Lokis there anyway.
Tumblr media
But make no mistake, I don´t think he is stupid, or naive. That is the most fascinating thing about him.  He is brilliant. He can makes great plans (it surely as hell was him, who come up with the high school scheme) He is a great  investigator, he  is familiar with psychology very well, he know how to manipulate people just as well, as Loki. He can  interrogate flawlessly (when jealousy is not involved) And when he woke up in the Void, he was able to escape certain death, choose a car and drive around looking for Loki - and eventualy save Sylvie. He is a very capable man. I dont think he shouldn´t have any power. Like - he has his inteligence, his knowledge of all  languages  (I want to see him chat with Groot please), his knowledge of psychology,  knowledge  of how TVA works... He can have his pruning stick, TemPad, bulletproof vest and a raincoat for what I care. but most importantly he has his kind heart, love of adrenaline, and he is a freaking Loki expert. And let´s not forget, every Loki loves him. Also, he has a damn luck as well :D It´s like - Loki always ends up loosing, so Mobius  is fine  - even when he should be dead about million times already. (one man´s void is another man´s piece of cake) So when they are togheter. There is no way for Loki to actually die. Not by his side xD So I don´t think he needs to become great fighter. I believe, that this is a hundred times better. Creators should explore this dynamic to it´s bottom before they make him fighter with super powers or something like that. ( I wouldn´t mind long hair though)  I´m sorry. But I just really love that. I love how small and fragile he is, but he wont be scared of anything. And now he´s Loki best friend (while having masive crush on him, let's be precise ) So just imagine all those amazing scenes that could come with that.  Imagine there is some very dangerous Loki variant that everyone has problem to deal with, and Mobius is gonna be like - you´re so cute guys, nice try. Now let me talk to him, will ya.  Imagine some big battle where our Loki and Mobius are fighting side by side with Avengers and Loki is using all his potential, and he is so stunning in his leather but he can´t focus very well, because few metters from him is a small, fragile man in a suit just using TemPad an afucking pruning stick. And Loki didn´t even want him there in the first place. So they are arguing like married couple right then and there and every avenger AND enemy in  close distance just can´t believe these two are real.  also Loki saves Mobius by taking him in his arms right on time and running to safety with him
Tumblr media
Maybe this post is  completely useless and has  incredibly bad english like every text I write, but I don´t care. I just wanted to loudly  appreciate this mans non-fighting skills and his hilariously huge courage. End of the post.  have nice day! Bye!

About Sylvie
I’ve been trying to work out exactly how I feel about her as a character.
On misogyny
Sylvie fans are very quick to cry misogyny at critics. And you know, I get it. I do. Female characters often are treated terribly (the first one that comes to mind is Rose Tico from Star Wars and the horrific sexist racist abuse aimed at actress Kelly Marie Tran). It’s not nice to have to play “is this argument in good faith or are you just a bigot” when you want to find good discussion and critical analysis of media. And women and minorities can be held to a much higher standard, like they’re always responsible for representing their entire group. If they’re not perfect studios are just going to give up and cast all straight white men again next time because obviously it didn’t work out.
Tumblr media
(via XKCD)
But about Sylvie. I do think there’s misogyny involved. Just from the creators (not the critics) who haven’t done a good job of making her anything but “strong female” like they forgot the “strong character” part. I wouldn’t know how to describe her as a person - Sylvie mostly has two emotions: angry and smug (although to be fair she’s not the only one in the show that’s a bit one dimensional). I would like to note I don’t blame any of this on Sophia Di Martino - I don’t know what she’s like as an actress (if this was the only performance I had to judge Tom Hiddleston on I wouldn’t be very impressed either, and I know he’s talented).
The chosen one (not like other Lokis)
Sylvie’s is very much a chosen one story. In a multiverse of Lokis, she’s the one blonde, the one woman, the one who rejected her inherent ‘Lokiness’. The one chosen by Kang for his endgame (ok, Loki was there too I suppose). She’s both special and frightening, and nothing like all of the other backstabbing bickering ridiculous variants. She’s the only Loki who’s ever been a threat to the TVA while ‘our’ Loki (or what’s left of him) was just convenient for the TVA who needed help catching her. She has a very ‘not like other girls’ vibe.
Tumblr media
If Loki and Sylvie were too similar I’m not sure it’d be very interesting either though. There’s not much point in having the same character twice. It just grates having the ‘superior Loki’ being superior by rejecting everything he’s supposed to be.
Is Sylvie a sympathetic character?
Sure, on paper she should be. She’s gone through a lot, of course what happened to her was horrific. The TVA took everything from her and she spent her whole life running from apocalypse to apocalypse (and plotting revenge). It’d be pretty hypocritical to condemn what happened to Loki and not do the same for her. The thing is though, they never manage to show this. The scene where she’s taken as child is sad, but that’s all we got. Contrast that with Thor 1 where Loki is very much cast as the villain, but we see his pain, how he reacts when he’s alone, we see the impact of these events on him. She got a lot of screen time, but that’s not the same a seeing things from her perspective.
She’s also framed as sympathetic at the expense of Loki. Everything he went through, she had it worse. She deserves to get revenge on the TVA, but he doesn’t - he’s just some asshole getting in the way who’s never had anything bad happen to him ever. If the only way to make your character look good is to make another one look bad, something’s gone wrong.
Is she a villain?
She does kill a lot of people. Although it is really common for action heroes to kill faceless mooks along the way without it being examined or framed as a bad thing (and maybe it should be, perhaps it stands out to me because she is female and I’m a bit more desensitised to the same sort of casual violence for a male character) her motivation being revenge takes it out of the heroic. But it’s revealed that the TVA employees are a bit more complicated than just evil henchmen and you end up with this weird impasse where Sylvie and the TVA are both framed as good guys and victims. Sylvie and Mobius sort of awkwardly non-apologise at each other and it doesn’t come up again. You know if it had been Loki murdering Minutemen the narrative wouldn’t let him off the hook so easily.
I think she could have been a complicated anti-hero if everything was written better. But we got what we got.
Sylvie’s relationship with Loki
If it hadn’t been for interviewers with the creators, I’d still assume it was supposed to be one sided. I think a lot of my problem with Sylvie comes from the people making this show not agreeing with what they wanted her to be. Kate Herron seems to want both a love story and a self-acceptance metaphor that don’t work together. Michael Waldron seems to have cast her in the role of the girl from his script “The Worst Guy Of All Time, And The Girl Who Came To Kill Him” who apparently despises the “worst guy” but is really horny for him. Without the sex part Sylvie just doesn’t seem to like Loki much. And then there’s composer Natalie Holt who compared her to his mother...
So
Obviously this is all my opinion, and if you’ve found a new favourite character in Sylvie that’s great. I don’t hate Sylvie, but she never quite comes together a person to me. I can imagine versions of her that I’d like better, but as she is I think she feels incomplete and inconsistent as a character. I don’t find her particularly compelling and if she wasn’t supposed to be a version of a character I loved, I probably wouldn’t have given it much thought. One reason for the accusations of misogyny I’ve heard is that the characteristics we liked in Loki, we suddenly don’t like in Sylvie. But I honestly don’t see anything of original Loki in her (other than the clothes).

Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog - Momma Robotnik's Birthday (Screenshots 1 of 4)
Here's an episode where we learn that part of Robotnik's problem may be the same as Eustace Bagge form Courage the Cowardly Dog - they both have extremely abusive mothers. That doesn't excuse either of them for being such jerks, but it does at-least explain it somewhat.
It's Momma Robotnik's birthday, and she's broken out of the "Mobius Home for Really Bizarre Mothers " so she can visit her son with the assumption that he has gotten her a gift. This does establish that there is some sort of governmental authority on mobius that can jail dangerous individuals, and you'd think they would be doing the same with Dr. Robotnik  - but then the show wouldn't be able to happen! So for the sake of the audience, I guess they let Robotnik roam free.
Momma Robotnik's design is a fun one, to me  - reminiscent of Grandma Flexington from Borderlands, turning a few tropes on their side, and being a mix of traits you don't see put together as often. She has a similar build as Robotnik, and evne the same taste in facial hair grooming,  She's even more mean and nasty than he is, but also dresses like a stereo-typically pleasant little grandma. Her facial hair could have been used for very uncomfortable transphobic jokes, but the script handles her appearance surprisingly well for a 90s cartoon.
She is shown to much stronger than the ol' doctor, as she easily breaches his fortresses defenses and is immediately angered that Robotnik hasn't gotten her a gift. She wants the Mobius National Park destroyed because it's near where she lives and she doesn't like the view. Robotnik, eager to please her, gets right to doing so.
Scratch and Grounder, of course, mess it up. At one point Sonic tricks them by setting up a fake game show in which he dons a strange wig and speaks into a microphone that looks like it is made out of a cookie. Maybe it really was a cookie, and Sonic ate it after he was done using it as a prop? I like to think so. :)
This scene also reveals that Sonic seems to possess reality-altering powers. When Robotnik tries to warn Scratch and Grounder that they're being tricked, Sonic guts Grounders phone line - which somehow also cuts Robotnik's phone line!
Momma Robotnik has now seen Robotnik screw up twice in one day, and decides she's going to give herself a present instead. She sets out to trick Tails with a sad story about her son. When Tails meets her, he is confused, as he at first thinks she is Dr. Robotnik, but then says "that couldn't be. unless he turned himself into a girl?" and goes closer to see what's going on. Unlike some people today, Tails doesn't freak out, yell at or make fun of what he perceives as "Robotnik turned into a girl". If only everyone could be as trans-positive as Tails was even back in the 90s.
The scene that follows is rather sweet and touching, even though Tails is being lied to. Momma Robotnik says that her son went bad because he lost his favorite stuffed animal "Fuzzy Wuzzy". She shows flashback footage of Robotnik as a baby, though his design in these shots is so strange that I didn't realize it was supposed to be him at first. Tails feels very badly for her, and promises to help. We also see that Tails has learned how to write since the sloth episode. Tails is growing up and helping folks in need!
Tails leaves Sonic a note, and Sonic comically tears up the landscape to stop his momentum when he sees it. and Tails says he loves Sonic on the note, aww! Sonic decides that Tails is in trouble, and wants to go make sure he's okay. That's a fair assumption given that all he knows about Robotnik's family is that Robotnik is habitually ...ehh...not-very-nice to others. Along the way he runs into coconuts in a brief slapstick scene that doesn't really seem to have anything to do with the rest of the plot, and I wonder if it was added in just to make sure the episode was long enough. (not that it was a bad sequence, it just felt out of place to me)
Eventually, Sonic reaches the old Robotnik home where he finds poor Tails not only tied up, but upside down! That can't feel very good. I'm usually uninterested in the background scenery of the show, but I liked the color scheme for this location. Everything being colored in a darker blue tone gives it a gloomy and ominous feel, which is fitting for a possibly abandoned old house in which a mother probably used to abuse her child. There's a pile of old junk and machinery laying in the front yard, which I like to think are old mechanical scraps that Dr. Robotnik tinkered with when he still lived there.
A rather dramatically silhouetted version of Momma Robotnik's face emerges from the shadows. Sonic exclaims "Robotnik in a dress?!" and makes a grossed-out looking face, which was, to my relief, the closest the episode ever comes to anything that could come across as transphobic  - and considering Sonic happily wears dresses himself many times in this show, it's more likely that he just finds Robotnik very off-putting in any form. (An interesting aside, I don't think  yet to hear Sonic making any fat jokes about Robotnik yet in this series, despite remembering a ton of that form my childhood. I'm starting to wonder if he only actually did that in SatAm? So far the Aosth version of Sonic may be beating the SatAm one in terms of wholesomeness)
Anyway, Tails corrects Sonic - "That's his mom. she's even worse than he is!" Sonic quickly unties Tails and moves him to a safer distant as both Robotnik's emerge onto the houses porch. Momma Robotnik sends out "Fuzzy Wuzzy" who turns out to be real, despite Momma Robotnik's general dishonesty. The small teddy bear transforms into a strange two-headed bear robot-monster that looks he may have once worked at a local pizza place. Poor Tails is terrified and cowers behind Sonic, and Fuzzy goes after Tails shortly before Sonic starts to kick his butt. Robotnik becomes very distressed as it revealed that Fuzzy Wuzzy actually is very important to him, and might just be one of the first people we've seen Robotnik genuinely care about besides himself (and maybe his mom?). He begs Sonic to stop hurting the bear, and Sonic concedes after Robotnik promises to be good. Unfortunately for the doctor, this pisses off his mother again and she starts to hit him. Luckily, an ambulance shows up and some men come out to escort Momma Robotnik back to the institute. Robotnik is conflicted about his mother leaving, showing that despite her abuse, he still cares for her, though he is also relieved that she won't be around to hurt him, at-least for a while. Other than Sonic and Tails talking about food for a bit, this is the kind of sad note the episode ends on, making Dr. Robotnik feel very pitiful again. At-least he has his old friend Fuzzy Wuzzy back now?
This episode lightly touches on things that could have been interesting character explorations if the show had tried leaning into more  mature topics and themes. Robotnik's complicated feelings regarding his mother are a real thing for many people. Some people who are abused by their parents have no problem just cutting ties and moving out on their own, but others may have internalized an unhealthy attachment to their abuser like we see in Dr. Robotnik. Even when she constantly beats and yells at him, he cries when she is taken away. Robotniks attachment to "Fuzzy Wuzzy" also adds a rather sad element to the guy, hinting that this plush toy/robot may have been something of a great comfort during a very bad childhood.
Lastly, the Sonic Sez segment is another good one: Sonic teaches the audience about the importance of nature conservation, specifically taking care of trees. He encourages folks to plant saplings to keep the environment stable and hopefully cut down on things like smog, especially if they live in a urban area where plant life is more scarce.
Bonus Fun Fact: Momma Robotnik is voiced by Kathleen Barr , who also plays Trixie, Chrysalis and Yona's mom on My Little Pony!

Missing you comes in waves and tonight I'm drowning
Summary:
After seeing Loki disappear before his eyes and confined to the TVA because of the failed mission, Mobius decides to still believe in Loki and search for him. He witnesses the discussion between Sylvie and Loki on the train
Notes:
My theories on the method used by Mobius to locate Loki is probably very far-fetched and lacks technical truth, but that's not the most important point here, so I hope you'll forgive me for my short cuts. (I miss them together!)

"Loki! Wait!"
Loki looked at him for a moment before stepping through the portal.
By the time they got there, it was too late Loki and the portal was gone.
"I knew he would betray us as soon as he could!" said one of the hunters right next to Mobius.
"Shut up!" shouted Mobius at him before returning to the TVA.
As he walked toward Ravonna's office, the same thoughts swirled over and over in his head.
Had Loki betrayed him! What were his plans? But worst of all, was he in danger?
He tried to think rationally.
Loki always said he was one step ahead, but Mobius knew that wasn't true. Loki was improvising. Loki was adapting. So reason told Mobius that this is what he had done.
That's when Mobius decided to do something he'd never done in his life at the TVA, he was going to bet on chaos. On the fact that Loki had chosen to follow the variant not only for his own sake but also because it was his mission.
Because Mobius could not imagine that what they had shared was nothing in the eyes of the god.
"Mobius! In my office!"
Ravonna... he was already imagining her reprimands, "I warned you" "he can't be trusted"...
As soon as he entered her office, she showed him a screen and just said, "Look!"
A scene showing the variant fighting in a hallway with the guards and Loki in the locker room retrieving his daggers then arriving at the place where the guards were eliminated.
Next scene Loki and the variant fighting, Loki trying to convince her to team up, at this point, despite the faith he has in him, Mobius could not determine if this is a way to stop her or get what he wants.
Then Rovenna arrives and the variant uses Loki as a hostage.
Mobius could not prevent a gasp.
Still on the screen, seeing that Rovenna is not persuaded, Loki grabs an object that opens a portal above them and he and the Variant disappear.
Mobius tried not to show his relief, but he saw that Rovenna was not fooled.
"So you still trust him?"
Mobius looked at her defiantly, "As long as I don't have concrete, real proof that he betrayed us, yes I’ll trust him!"
"Always the idealistic dreamer huh?"
Mobius didn't answer, Rovenna continued, "You're grounded here until I tell you otherwise. You can get out."
Once out, Mobius sat in a chair, held his head in his hands, and began to think. He was grounded, but there was nothing to stop him from trying to figure out where Loki was.
He just had to figure out how to locate him.
The difference was that now, thanks to Loki, he knew to look in the apocalypses, what he had to find now was the equivalent of that candy, something out of the ordinary, something anachronistic.
He stood up suddenly, he had found it!
He went to the office, where the screen that displayed all the nexuses was located.
"Casey! Come here!"
The younger man got up and joined him. Mobius spoke more softly, "Will you help me with a secret project?"
Casey, who had great respect for the man, nodded.
"Follow me."
They headed into the archive room. Mobius chose a table a little out of the way.
"You sit here. I'll be right back."
A few minutes later, he returned with a stack of files that he separated into two piles.
"In all these apocalypses, we need to find one where it mentions two Lokis variants and unusual magical acts."
"Got it!"
Mobius didn't know if his smoky theory would work out, but he didn't have much choice.
He couldn't help but think back to a similar scene a few days earlier, when Loki had fallen asleep. He had let his guard down in the presence of Mobius, so that meant something, didn't it?
He started to flip through the files.
"M-Mobius! I think I've got it!"
Casey was showing him a file, Lamentis-1 - 2077, a woman reports that two demons tried to attack her. One even allegedly posed as her deceased husband in order to get information.
Mobius could feel it in his bones. It was Loki and the Variant.
He was going to have to gamble on someone again.
"Casey. I need you to keep this a secret for a while longer. If Ravonna gets wind of this, I'm afraid she'll launch an assault and won't hesitate to eliminate Loki."
Casey nodded without taking time to think, "As long as you need Mobius."
Mobius was surprised that he didn't have to persuade Casey more than that.
After all, he seemed to be the good, loyal employee who never disobeyed.
Casey, seeing his reaction, added with a knowing smile, "You know, I like Loki too. He promised me he'd show me what a fish is and you know? The drink he took from me the other day, he bought me another one and apologized. A villain wouldn't take the time to do something like that right?"
Mobius's throat tightened. Casey was the first person other than himself to acknowledge that there was good in Loki.
"Thanks."
Casey nodded and returned to his desk.
Mobius headed straight for the video archive room. The advantage of being an agent of his rank was that he had unrestricted access to this section of the archives.
He searched through the shelves until he found the videos of Lamentis 1 in 2077.
He sat down in front of one of the small projectors provided for this purpose. He was going to start from the described scene that Casey had shown him.
After entering a few parameters, the screen lit up with Loki being blasted by an old woman.
The noise of the meteors that rained down around
Loki and the one who accompanied him, prevented Mobius from hearing what was being said.He pressed the fast-forward button until Loki and the girl, after some trouble to enter the train, found themselves in a box in the dining car.
He turned up the volume to hear their conversation.
He was amazed at how easily they seemed to converse, despite the jabs on both sides, and couldn't help a twinge of annoyance that he refused to recognize as jealousy.
The variant said to Loki, mockingly, "FYI, that wasn't even a plan."
"Oh, really?"
God how Mobius missed that cheeky attitude. Even when unmasked, Loki still had that irritating confidence.
The variant replied, "Plans have multiple steps. Dressing as a guard and getting on a train is just doing a thing."
She couldn't hold back a yawn.
Loki responded, "Oh, are you a bit tired? Feel free to, you know, get some rest."
One thing Mobius had realized and Casey had confirmed to him just before was that Loki cared more about others than he let on if you paid attention.
The variant grunted and replied, "I can't sleep in a place like this."
"You can't sleep on a train?"
The variant retorted, irritated, "No. I can't sleep around untrustworthy people."
Loki replied, still cheeky, "Oh, right. That's me?"
Fearing he might misinterpret what had been said, Mobius pressed rewind and let the scene play out before him.
The image of Loki nodding in agreement about not being able to sleep near people he couldn't trust was superimposed on the image of Loki sound asleep in his company.
He could not suppress the pang of his heart.
Loki trusted him, Loki considered him trustworthy.
While he was thinking, the video had continued and Loki was now talking about his mother.
Mobius had witnessed Loki's relationship with his mother and his devastation at the news of her death.
Loki's voice had become more hushed, with that hint of fragility he had whenever he spoke of her.
"She was, um... A Queen of Asgard. She was good. Purely decent."
Then the variant and Loki respectively provoked each other about the fact that they were adopted and Loki continued, "You know, when I was young, she'd do these little bits of magic for me. Like turn a flower into a frog or cast fireworks over the water. It all seemed impossible. But she told me that I'd be able to do it too because... Because I could do anything. You wanna see?"
Loki sets off tiny fireworks over his hand.
Mobius could not deny his feelings at that moment.
The sight of magic coming from Loki's hands, pure magic, was enchanting.
Loki continued, "She was the kinda person you'd want to believe in you."
Mobius could not help but whisper, "Loki, I believe in you."
For a few moments he didn't catch the conversation until it was audible again. Apparently they were talking about their love interests.
The variant asked Loki, "How about you? You're a prince. Must've been would-be-princesses or perhaps, another prince." She finished with a wink.
Loki, replied with a serious look, "A bit of both. I suspect the same as you. But, nothing ever..."
The variant finished his sentence, "real."
"Let me find you and I'll prove to you how real it is." Mobius didn't realize he was speaking aloud. He pushed fast-forward again.
The Variant had fallen asleep and Loki looked a little giddy.
Loki waved his hand and was back in his TVA agent costume.
He could wear the illusion of any outfit, and he chose this one. Why stay in these clothes?
Mobius really didn't want to be under any illusions, because how could he imagine that someone like Loki, a prince, a god, would want to claim a belonging to something like the TVA... to someone like Mobius?
Loki had started to dance and sing.
Mobius could not help but laugh. Then his laughter died down as Loki's song became more melancholic,
I stormsvarte fjell, jeg vandrer alene
Over isbreen tar jeg meg frem
I eplehagen står møyen den vene
og synger "når kommer du hjem?"
Men traner danser og fossene stanser
når hun synger, hun synger "kom hjem"
Then seeming to regain his spirits, Loki began to dance and sing happily again as if trying to prevent nostalgia from invading him.
When the music stopped, he joined the Variant and resumed his seat in front of him. Mobius managed to understand what they were saying to each other.
"What did you just sing to look so disturbed?"
Loki looked a little moved and answered him with the voice Mobius knew well, the one he used when he was serious, when he was sincere.
"It's Asgardian, it says:
In storm-black mountains, I wander alone
Over the glacier I make my way
In the apple garden stands the maiden fair and sings,
"When will you come home?"
Loki stopped, apparently moved, and the Variant simply said, "So there's a would-be-princess somewhere..."
Loki chuckled looking so sad before answering her, "I like metaphors you know, it's not a princess it's a prince, and I don't know if he's waiting for me or hoping to see me again, it's not even really my home, but..."
"But you'd like to believe that right?"
Loki nodded.
Mobius, didn't dare to believe that it was him that Loki was talking about, even though he couldn't stop the hope from rising up inside him.
The video continued, much more animated, after a wild fight, both jumped off the moving train and found themselves walking through a kind of desert towards the energy source they apparently needed to reactivate the tempad.
Mobius saw Loki suddenly stop, looking shocked. But Mobius was unable to hear what they were saying, the sound of the meteors again covering their voices.
Suddenly, Loki shouted louder, "But they don't know that!"
And they began to run.
Mobius could see that Loki was repeating something as he ran, an expression that Mobius had never seen on his face. Like he was worried. But he couldn't hear him. He zoomed in closer to try to read Loki's lips and finally succeeded.
Mobius.

Every Single Betrayal (And I Mean EVERY SINGLE betrayal) in the Loki Series
Tumblr media
So, I may or may not have bawled my eyes out writing and gathering information for this post, but that will remain a mystery for all time.
I don't know why I torture myself with this, but uh... Here we go!
1. Sylvie betraying Loki
This is the obvious one. Sylvie and Loki sit down with Kang (aka: He Who Remains) and he does some manipulation stuff and Sylvie isn't falling for it, Loki kinda is, Loki wants to think this through, Sylvie wants to kill Kang, blah blah, they fight, blah blah, they kiss and Sylvie pushes Loki into a TimeDoor.
Now obviously, I've gone over this before, Sylvie still loves Loki, she betrayed him to protect him.
And once again, every Loki is supposed to betray someone they love, and Sylvie's was Loki, implying that she did love him.
And Loki is still in love with Sylvie, even after this betrayal, because in a way, he knew what was going to happen.
To justify this, go back and look at the kiss scene, slow it down, and you can see there's a moment when Sylvie and Loki pull apart, just for a second, but Loki kisses her again, because he doesn't want this moment, this moment in love (HSMTMTS reference, if you don't get it), you may say, to end, and because he knows what's going to happen when it does end.
2. Loki betraying Sylvie
Yes. This also happened. Same scene.
Loki and Sylvie were going to kill He Who Remains together, but Loki obviously did not do that.
Sylvie is a traumatized, hurt and lonely little girl who's been running her whole life. Any friends or acquaintances she ever met were made to die. Everything she ever had was taken away from her, until she met Loki.
She hadn't met anyone like him, she had never even thought about love before she met him. And she trusted him, she trusted him to help her kill the man behind the curtain, but Loki didn't do that.
Sylvie was obviously angered by this betrayal, and that's what led to her lashing out.
But when Loki tells her that he would never hurt her, and that he just wants her to be okay, she softens a little, and considers her options.
She can either stand down, or she can hurt Loki to get to Kang, and she doesn't want to do either.
So she chooses to kiss him goodbye, and throw him into a TimeDoor that leads to the TVA, because she knows he'll be safe there.
3. B-15 betraying the TVA
This one is pretty obvious, but maybe you didn't really think about it.
Well, Sylvie shows B-15 the truth about the TVA workers, that they're all variants, and B-15 decides to help Sylvie and Loki kill the Time Keepers.
The rest of her story isn't really explored, but I really hope they do that in the next season.
4. Ravonna betraying Mobius
The heartbreaking scene in episode 4 shows Mobius standing up to Ravonna after he learns the truth about the TVA, and Ravonna, who doesn't believe him, has him pruned.
But, like always, there's more behind that. Her expressionless face hides her emotions inside.
You can tell she really adored Mobius, and the two were great friends, it sort of killed her a little to have him pruned, because she was under the impression that she'd never see him again.
As unlikable as Ravonna may be, she is still a human, with human emotions, and she is also imperfect, which means she tries to hide her sadness in this scene, and her shock in the scene when Mobius confronts her after coming back from the void.
Obviously, we'll see more of her in season 2, since we don't know where she went when she disappeared into the TimeDoor, though I suspect she might have gone back to visit herself before the TVA plucked her from her life.
5. Ravonna betraying Sylvie
So, in episode 5, when Ravonna and Sylvie are teamed up, and are trying to find out a way to get into the void, TVA agents barge in, and the audience is under the impression that Ravonna was the one that called them in.
HOWEVER, I have a different theory.
You can tell by the tone of her voice, that is quivering and a little shook, that maybe she's pretending to be on the side of the TVA agents, so that no suspicion would arise.
But Sylvie doesn't know that, and after she prunes herself, Ravonna has a slight look of disappointment on her face.
Maybe when she walked into the TimeDoor, she went into the place where the Void Aircraft was being kept, supposedly to get there in time to help Sylvie and Loki, not knowing, of course, that she would already be too late.
Anyway, that's all for today, I wish I had more to tell you, but I tried really hard to get more information, but other betrayals were just really tiny things I couldn't make content on.
If you liked this post and want to read more like this, consider checking out my other posts and following! I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks for reading!
XOXO, Valentine

Thoughts after rewatching Episode 4
Okay, so I took a couple of days to get over the excruciating cringeworthyness of a few many moments in episode 4 and have just finished rewatching it.
And I have to say thank goodness for whatever it is in the human brain that allows us to adapt! lol No, but srsly, I found it a much easier watch the second time, and its definitely keeping up the trend of the first three episodes of being something I can enjoy more the second time than the first.
So, my now somewhat less instant reaction thoughts:
I hadn’t noticed that it’s Sylvie that initiates the hand holding on Lamentis 1.  And I think I prefer this.  One thing I can’t stand is romance in TV or film where it’s all about the guy winning over the girl, like she’s clearly not interested, but somehow by the end of the movie she’s in love.  Okay, that’s a bit harsh, sometimes it’s done well, but it’s a convention that gets my hackles up and gets me all defensive, so I think I was taking some of this into the episode with me.
Tumblr media
Interestingly, now that I’m thinking of it, I think this moment and the moment Sylvie asks if Loki is okay while they’re being escorted by the guards are the only moments I can recall where she showed any form of affection for him. *shrugs*
Poor boy also seems so surprised at this.  And uncertain how to respond.  And I can’t help but see this in relation to the scene in Thor 1 where the frost giant grabs his forearm...  :’(
I also think another part of the reason I so disliked the romance on my first watch is that it was just another example of Loki over-doing the emotion thing in comparison to his previous characterisation. He certainly looks more into it than Sylvie, and this just bugs me, because again I think the way Sylvie is acting here is what I would have expected from Loki based on the films.
In the time prison, while I still don’t like the getting kicked in the crotch gimmick, I do like that they showed us Loki attempting to get out of the situation in what seems quite a reasonable way.  He explains the situation to Sif and asks for her help to escape.  I thought it was quite interesting, because we see his first instinct is to use his skills of persuasion and try to escape. Firstly because it’s an instance where he’s trying to plot an escape, not just avoiding her or fighting her. I like that he seems to have some hope that this is possible and isn’t just 100% resigned to the TVA being all-powerful.  And secondly, he speaks to Sif as a person, he doesn’t just treat her like some sort of solid hologram and try and knock her out, or stand by the door to make a surprise attack.  It doesn’t work, of course, and we’re supposed to find that funny, but at least he tried in a plausible way onscreen. unlike IW  And he asks her to trust him.  Which I found interesting because if he’s asking this then he must think there’s some chance that she will, which means there’s at least some level of respect between them.  And I like that.  I know I’m reading way too much into this that the writers certainly didn’t intend, but let me play over here.
I still don’t like the narcissist line.  But I think I can buy Loki exaggerating in his confession to get her to stop.  He doesn’t seem to be really particularly bothered by what he’s saying.  But when she walks out and says he will always be alone, even after what he’s just said, that seems to have an impact on him.
I do love this image though. He looks so smol. So sweet.
Tumblr media
When Mobius retrieves Loki from the time prison after the first time, I can see after a second watch that Mobius is actually a little angry/disappointed that Loki ran off after the variant in Roxxcart.  Its subtle well subtler than Loki’s reactions so I hadn’t noticed.
I still dislike the way they did the romance thing.  The interrogation scene where Loki’s all “eww no, I don’t like her!” and then has this realisation that perhaps he does.  I felt like I was being beaten around the head with it.  Like teenagers teasing someone for liking someone else. smh
I’m also reminded that the English language really isn’t very good when it comes to words for ‘liking’ someone. I mean the UK seems to have ‘to fancy’ which would be more accurate, but gotta say I’m glad they didn’t use that here.
I still hate that Loki seems utterly unable to keep a secret or hide his emotions. To me this was a fundamental part of his character, and yet here we have Mobius calling him out because he can’t help but have this pained expression on his face and can’t keep his voice steady.  Black Widow wouldn’t have had to spend more than a minute with this variant of Loki.
Mobius: “What are you doing?”
Loki: “Passing the time.”
This line made me laugh this time.  Sassy Loki!
I still like the slightly veiled way Mobius apologises to Loki for saying he’s only destined to be the villain to make other people better. Nice, not too over the top. Makes Loki smile.
That animatronic timekeeper stuff was just weird.  There better be some good payoff for this in the next two episodes.
And now to the bit I hated the most on my first watch – that super cringey interrupted confession of feelings.
Looking at this again with fresh eyes I wonder if Loki was about to explain Mobius’s theory that their moment on Lamentis 1 might be able to destroy the TVA.  It just got awkward because to explain that he’d have to explain how he feels.  And I think they exaggerated that to make the impact of the pruning bigger.
First he says “then who created the TVA?”  Then he turns away and he seems to be looking around for inspiration, and I think he’s actually thinking about this.  It wasn’t just rhetorical. We can see the moment he realises something, and he doesn’t seem particularly happy about it, and then he turns back to Sylvie.
“Sylvie, I have to tell you something.”
“We will figure this out.” I think this is an aside after he’s taken in how upset she is about this. And it’s true that if they take down the TVA then they probably have to learn who’s in charge eventually. And then he gets back to his original point.
“Because… er… back on Lamentis…” I think here he’s trying to find a way to explain that their moment caused the nexus event, and a big one at that, but he’s struggling to do so in a way that doesn’t make him completely vulnerable by telling her how he feels. But it’s not possible to talk about it so clinically, so he hesitates, “This is new for me…”  he realises he doesn’t actually know quite how to put this.
Now, if I can rationalise it in this way as being an important piece of information he needed to tell her that would help them bring down the TVA then I can be more okay with this than if it was just a poorly timed romantic confession (which is certainly what it appeared to be on first watch). Again, I’m probably clutching at straws here, but it helps me not want to gag while watching this. lol
I mean I still think it’s just a cringey awful scene and it’s so very cliche to interrupt someone before they can say ‘I love you’. But this is a way I can rationalise his actions and I’ll stick with this till proven otherwise, presumably in the next episode. Ha!
I can’t help but give a nod to another beautiful example of Tom’s eyes matching his shirt in the mid-credits scene. <3
Tumblr media
I also think that what I’m experiencing watching each episode the first time is much more from Loki’s point of view.  Like I’m more personally invested in him doing well, him not being embarrassed, him looking good to others.  And so since the story is actually giving him a hell of a time I’m experiencing a lot of negative feelings on his behalf.  And this is because it’s unfolding in real time in front of me and in that moment it could go anywhere! So it feels more real perhaps??  On a second watch I know what’s coming and I’m able to watch it with an eye for the storytelling as a whole, not just as the real events of Loki’s life.  I don’t think I’ve been this much of a fan of any character in recent times to have experienced this before.  So it’s a fascinating thing to learn about being a fan. *shrugs*
Anyway, in summary, much more bearable on second watch.  Some good stuff in there, and I can ignore a good amount of the stuff I didn’t like – at least until next week.
So again I’m sorta somewhere in between loving and hating this show.
@iamanartichoke @scintillatingshortgirl19 maybe some of this is useful to you?
