hi mutuals and followers (and anyone else), i am giving you all a trinket - please take your pick:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A set of rainbows jars, excellent for holding various other trinkets and liquids. May come with mysterious trinkets already inside.
An aloe vera plant that continuously produces pups so that you always have more to sell or give away as gifts (perhaps too many).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A pleasing rock that looks suspiciously like a dragon egg, and is warm to the touch.
A cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows, and a little dish of cookies to go with it. Side effects may include a feeling of contentment and safety, and possibly a lifetime supply of hot chocolate and cookies appearing in your cupboard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A very polite little bear looking for a home, and who has just come back from many adventures and would love to tell you all about them.
A lantern full of starlight that will always glow just the right amount of bright.

May I have hcs on Liv and Skk reader trying to teach Lucia how to cook?
I was reading Lucia Plume's Dancing Ripplet coating story event, where Lucia gave a reason why she's not a great cook. Like she has to scrounge up as much food as she can in her childhood, as little as food source is, so I imagine that she wouldn't have the opportunity to experiment with cooking or mixing with spices and such. So now that she's in a better position where it's possible, now she's got other people to rely on to teach her with cooking! ^^
THAT'S THE REASON????? i don't have plume and i think i was taking a break from the game at the time so i definitely missed that ... that's so......... cat screaming dot jpeg..........
this is such a cute request, and i hope i did it justice!! i think it's a little shorter than the rest of the stuff on this blog so far, but i hope you enjoy, anon ^w^
liv and the commandant teaching lucia how to cook
content warnings: none
Tumblr media
➸ Any and all jokes about it aside, LIV thought it was really sweet of Lucia to come to her for help with her cooking, but she can't help but wonder if she's really the best teacher... And that, dear Commandant, is how you get involved: I would feel a lot more reassured if you could help me out, Commandant... But only if you're free, of course! Lucia also perks up a little when she sees you there too, clearing away any clutter from the kitchen before you begin. Regardless of whether you're any good at cooking or not, you'll definitely know if it tastes passable, right?
➸ It starts out with picking a recipe in the little cook book Liv brings along — something simple since you're just starting out, maybe soup or stew, or something else if you prefer? Liv clasps her hands together with a smile and says that maybe once you get the hang of things, Lucia, we can try other kinds of dishes!
➸ Dutifully, Liv lists out what ingredients you'll need while you help Lucia prepare them. Neither of them need much instruction for any slicing and cutting, but every so often Liv will give some other pieces of advice as you put everything together — It's a bit too salty, but that's fine, we can just do this... or, It feels like it's missing something... Maybe we should add some more of this? Lucia listens with rapt attention to anything you or Liv has to say; this is new territory to her, and your advice has her realising that maybe she's been a bit... overzealous in her previous cooking attempts.
➸ She's not dissuaded, though! When you have some downtime while waiting for the food to cook completely, she asks you and Liv for some extra advice. What does she do if it gets too dry? How would she know when it's finished? Once the timer you've set goes off, you help with putting everything onto plates and setting them onto the table (maybe if you're lucky, you'll happen to catch Lee?).
➸ Of course, your first taste is far from perfect, but considering her track record, it's a very good attempt. Lucia perks up as Liv echoes the sentiment — and if you're so inclined, maybe the two of you would want to help her again on the next day off? Her smile is bright as she suggests it: maybe sometime, she can treat everyone to a homecooked meal, too.

Listen I told my self that I wasn't going to get invested enough in Person of Interest to talk about here but here I am anyway. It was chugging along being a good background show with Some really fun, if a little trope-y, cop characters and watching Harold Finch and John Reese act kinda gay and stop crime. I'm a big Amy Acker fan ( that's actually why I even started the show) so I wasn't upset about the shift in focus towards Root and Shaw a little bit as I entered season 3.
The problem I have actually run into is fucking season 3 episode 9: The Crossing. It just made me angry at a show's choices in a way I haven't felt in a while - please note I haven't watched past that episode as of writing this but I will eventually do so.
An the assumption that she really is dead( that looked pretty fucking fatal) I will miss Joss Carter a lot but that's not necessarily what made me angry. It seemed to me that the writers knew that the actor wanted out of the show from the start of the season as the whole season 3 arc was a seemingly slow moving suicide. It wasn't poorly written but it was obvious that this was a different type of Joss Carter than season 1 & 2.
No my problem wasn't necessarily her death. It's the "romantic" declarations of the episode. Now before you look back at the start of this and post and think I'm just mad because it wasn't my very unlikely to ever be a cannon ship that got confirmed, well you're only partially right.
Yes I'm a Rinch shipper( if follow my blog at all you've probably put together that I often root if the queer ships) but I genuinely would have been fine resigning myself to fanfiction while they get hopelessly paired up with some unsuspecting women. I understand that's how crime drama TV operates. And you know I actually like John and Zoe as a ship, if they were developed a bit more I think they could've been a lot of fun.
My problem is not that the whole you "saved me from commiting suicide" speech John gives Carter is equally, if not more, applicable to his relationship with Finch. Well, okay my problem is not only that. My problem is where was any of the romantic build up between Carter and John, like literally anything? They work great as narrative foils when Carter was still on the "the law is the only law" train. And they work great as friends as Carter steps more into the "some minor crime for the greater good is okay" camp. But not once did I think " oh these two are about to fall in love". Not even when Shaw asked about it earlier in season 3 did I think the show was going to actually pair them up like this. Now I hear you when you say that there are examples of characters with less chemistry have become couples. It's just, I'm not sure what the narrative gain is here. They had to know they were killing off Carter that same episode and this "revelation" doesn't add anything to the character. If anything it doesn't make sense with the revenge for Cal Becher (Beacher? Beecher?- You know who I'm talking about) angle that the writers have been using all season. And if it's about furthering John's character that's just dumb. I wouldn't consider it fridgeing as I'm pretty sure this is an actor who wants an out of contract situation(feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but that doesn't excuse it as a narrative choice. John unequivocally cares about Carter and would be upset about her death regardless or romantic inclinations, as would Lionel and Finch. They already have an in on the revenge story line (which is where I assume they are going with this). Why bother with the romance especially when John already has the lost love story in his background. Like what Jessica isn't enough of a dead romance they needed to shoe in Joss as well.
Anyway I also wish this was like a mid season finale not episode like 9. Like bro why are you putting away one of your biggest villains so far and this is only a third of the way in the season.
And I wish that Lionel wasn't just suddenly back in the plot, like I know you have a bigger cast now and I m glad he's here but build the guy up a little bit better please.
I also think the Root in a cage thing is a little weird like I know all of these people are chugging the " the ends justify the means" juice but it still seems like there are other options Finch would choose. ( that being said Root and Finch's conversation about the machine somehow come off like " I had sex with your daughter, and I don't care if you know” which was hilarious to me)
Anyway sorry for the rant thanks for listening and I do hope the show gets back into a groove.

I’ve been in the phandom since 2016 and i’ve never been able to make friends here, please give me some tips how it’s done I just want friends to talk about dnp with as my irl ones just look at me like I’m insane 🙏
howdy! i can only speak from my personal experience but there's a few things that can help :)
add your age to your bio (doesnt have to be exact, just age range). i know a lot of us are less inclined to follow or interact if we don't know if we're talking to a fellow adult or a literal teenager
tag talk!!! i've befriended sooo many of my mutuals just because they had funny or interesting tags! this fandom is largely nd people being unhinged so feel free to leave whatever in the tags! also this is just a me thing but i'm less likely to follow someone if they don't tag talk or made posts because i'm not seeing any personality?
send asks off anon! which i know is scary but i promise most people here are LOVELY and like getting asks! the thing about tumblr is you get to skip all the awkward small talk that people hate and can IMMEDIATELY go scream at a stranger with the same interest
also just remember that you're talking to fuckin phannies!!! which are the least intimidating group of people on the planet like...we're on dan and phil tumblr my dude. we love new people and i really want you to feel comfortable to be seen! (also i started typing this right before they posted so now is the perfect time to try it bc we're all online rn afsdgsggkj)

Hi there! I've belatedly seen your question about coloring, and I'm someone who likes to tweak color, so in case it helps, I thought I'd write up some things I might do. I don't know if you have the same tools I have, but I saw you use Color Balance, so I've used that for an example below. I usually start by adjusting lighting levels so that the lightest and darkest points are where I hope them to end up. Then I'd adjust color hues which in your case was using the Color Balance tool. I might also adjust the saturation or vibrance because too much can cause colors to get extreme quickly. Here are some quick settings I did in Photoshop.
Levels: dark point=19, mid point=1.37, light point=249, output levels=18 to 255
Color Balance: shadows red+13, green+5, blue-4; midtones red-8, green-9, blue+3; highlights red-60, green-28, blue-25
Saturation: reds-8, master-4
Here's the result:
Tumblr media
I know it can be hard to translate setting between different apps, so I wonder if this will be helpful at all, but feel free to ask me questions if you're so inclined 😊
~ Dani
WOW, your results are incredible! Thank you so much for taking the time to play with this and to offer some tips! Adjusting lighting before trying to adjust colors hadn't occurred to me at all.
I'm using Adobe Premiere for the video editing, so same software company at least, but I couldn't find any lighting level settings like what you described. Through Googling, it looks like a setting called "Lumetri Color" is typically used for lighting corrections and it's broken out differently.
I have to go to work pretty soon, so I haven't had sufficient time to really dig into it and play with it, but I did mess around with it a tiny bit. I'll play more this weekend and see if I can get closer to what you were able to accomplish.
For reference, my original adjusted version (which I can see now looks soooo horribly orangey compared to yours!):
Tumblr media
As a starting point, I just clicked the friendly "Auto" button on the Lumetri Color tab to see what it would do. A little better, still pretty orangey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then I tried to make some of the color adjustments that worked for you. It looked like your adjustments had been based on my adjusted version, so I'm not sure if my attempt at making it a direct mathematical adjustment was the right way to go, but I tried to add your adjustment #'s on top of my adjustments. So for example, I'd had Shadow Red set to -10 and since you said you added 13, I changed it to 3. When I changed all 9 settings it didn't improve too much, definitely nothing like yours:
Tumblr media
But while applying those changes, I noticed that before I applied the last two (highlight green and blue), it looked closer to what you had. Still not there yet, but closer.
Tumblr media
Once I have time, I'll play with some of the Lumetri sliders and stuff a bit more. It may also help just to have your beautiful image as a reference point. Thanks so much!
Addendum: Additional Efforts
I spent some more time playing with this. I present two versions for your judgment.
The first version isn't exactly like yours, but it looked pretty close to my eyes. So I was happy for a minute or two. Then when I started watching the video instead of just staring at the still frame, I felt like it looked a little too green. Maybe that's because I've spent so many hours staring at my previous orangey version that my idea of what looks normal is skewed.
So in version two I adjusted the Tint setting. I feel like this looks a little better, especially when I watch the video, but I don't trust my judgment at all. My color judgment was bad before, and now I think my eyes are permanently warped from staring at different shades for so long.
I'm including both versions below. For each version I'm including a side-by-side comparison with your example vs mine. I wanted to include a video clip for both, but it looks like tumblr limits it to 1 video, so I only included the video for version 2.
Please don't be afraid to tell me they both look horrible! I feel sort of like the proverbial monkey hitting a bunch of random keys and hoping I might hit upon Shakespeare by pure random chance. 😅

will you ever make another uquiz in the future? ur extensive orv kin quiz was very enjoyable
Oh absolutely, I actually have one halfish-finished (The questions May Be Doubled. but its also about the experience so some of the questions is less questions and more of "Experience"), but I haven't gotten around to my nth reread to double check my answers+ add some Specific Questions, since this one includes spoilers.
and is like/ way more stylistic which surprisingly, webnovel readers seem to Not Like. Though. to everyone who has English as a second language. I formally apologize for my usage of English. Fluent speakers barely understand me. It's a personality flaw. It WILL be worse in this second quiz.
(If you didn't want a kin quiz and somehow remember my one off suggestion of making a "Would you survive ORV" quiz, that's been merged with the above mentioned quiz. So that might explains things.)
Anyways if you mean "Make an extensive quiz for a different fandom" I unfortunately don't have any fandoms that either have the people (Obscurity win!) or the substance to make a quiz off (Vocaloid loss!), but if you ever see me talk about something I like (i.e. webnovel/series) I could absolutely do it.
(Actually thinking about the list of fandoms that I'm deep enough in to make a quiz, a lot of them is hard to imagine kinning in since they're world building focus and theres like. what. 4 characters. but trying to write them out like "Fandoms" I'm really only into Vocaloid for creation reasons, while the rest i just "enjoy". BUT. There are some I'm willing to go deeper in. However. Like.........
Persona 3 (The problem with this one is... Actually there isn't a huge problem with this one. BY THE WAY I ONLY LIKE 3. I have not touched 4 and 5, and that being said. havent played it since like. high school so. anyways, I feel like the biggest roadblock is that, the MANNER I like p3 is different, but after considering it I COULD. if people asked me to, but It won't be as.................... Strange as the ORV one. maybe that's preferable actually.)
Vocaloid (look man. I'll be so fucking honest with you. hate vocaloid personality quizzes. Hate pushed fanon, Vocaloid is nebulous to me. they're both everythign and nothing. "Ohh but what about kagerou or evillous" they are DERIVATIVES not the mascot themselves. I could assign vibe wise but we both know "vibe" just mean its a personality assignment. Lets Be Real)
Natsume Yuujinchou (The problem here is like....................... the differences between the minor characters becomes a bit.. muddled. and i feel like save for four characters, all the questions and answers would just be muddled nonsense)
Twisted wonderland (I'm already getting problems from just writing fics for this fandom. I'm not about to multiply the few "This quiz is stupid fuck you" questions to those people. I have Certain Inclinations It WILL be worse than ORV. Stares at a specific anon hater. Reading comprehension can be interesting here. 💖)
How to Live as the Enemy prince (actually. fucking bet. the fandom is thriving thanks to the webtoon adaptation. My personal favorite webnovel. but I may be guilty of bias. I'm not saying its the best. but yknow what, I might do this. Eventually. I HAVE to fix my mtl of the novel so I can better check whatever I make from it. I'm so stupid lol)
D. Gray man (if you've read d/gray man I feel like you can somewhat understand that I have no idea how to approach this quiz/ For multiple reasons. In no way can it ever be spoiler free lol.)
What if i just wrote a kinassignment quiz thats like . what. 500 questions long and itsj ust every single fucking media i'eve ever consumed, including the tonystark mpreg webn
Anyways let me know if you're interested in any of these quizzes tho! I'll certainly think about it!
i should remake my oc quiz actually.
In the third category is my forever uncompleted 3 year old basement quiz which is a "I recommend you a personalized webnovel based on your answers to these questions" However it both is. Several times longer than the kin quiz, I also keep getting caught up in re-reading/finding new novels. That Is a Problem. I'm pretty sure my spreadsheets are backlogged on novels by now. ALSO. PAYING FOR WEBNOVELS IS SO EXPENSIVE. Kim Dokja would STARVE if TWSA was paid content good lord. Some novels cost 100$+ to buy in their entirety, which yeah I understand they're weekly/monthly uploads so the payment spreads out and etc etc. (this is probably why physical releases are so much preferable if possible ngl, unless you're insane. Like me. ANd like. may or may not have purchased physical novels from overseas from a limited release print. in a language you are totally not fluent in. but hey, thats just average webnovel reader things. like good god it's way more painful trying the other way. i think. possibly/ definitely not. but hey. ALSO UQUIZ!!!! ADD WEIGHTED QUESTIONS ALREADY!!! ! SOME ANSWERS ARE WAYYYY MORE IMPORTANT!!! I debated just having like double questions like "Do you like romance to be prevalent" -- > "Is it important that romance is prevalent" Just to make the answer count for double. BUUTT I ended up adding a subsection that is "You got this result but here are some answers that are alternatives if "X" is missing, with like a short guide to the novel. WITH PROPER SUMMARIES. good god you can't just recommend stories going like "You should read this! IT's GAY!" but then again gay webnovels half of the time that IS the summary but let's not judge me and my reading diversity.
ANYWAYS missing the point there, honestly I just thought after that First Big Quiz, only like 3 people would be interested so I kinda forgot about it. too. also working on a fangame (not orv) and studying so my time management is kind of also crap.

Hello my love, I don't think I've ever asked - what is your FAVORITE song from each ts album? You can add why but it's not necessary.
hello darling! oooh i love this question and some are harder than others!
debut: cold as you. for every reason, but when i really got into and then clung to taylor in 2009, i was going through a horrible situation that was...damaging...and it felt like she was writing specifically for me. you put up walls and paint them all a shade of gray, and i stood there loving you, and wished them all away, and you come away with a great little story of a mess of a dreamer with the nerve to adore you...you never did give a damn thing, honey, but i cried, cried for you, and i know you wouldn't have told nobody if i died, died for you...she was the only one who understood and one of the only things in the world that made me feel less alone and kept me from. a far worse outcome.
fearless: unexpectedly, this is the HARDEST?! how do i choose? love story? perfect. you belong with me? perfect. forever and always, you're not sorry, the way i loved you, white horse, breathe? literally all helped save my life. even though red is My Album, i am so emotionally attached to fearless and i talk about it less due to some of the visceral reasons. but my favorite may be the title track. it just makes me so happy. there's somethin' 'bout the way the street looks when it's just rained, there's a glow off the pavement, you walk me to the car, and you know i wanna ask you to dance right there, in the middle of the parking lot. pure. joyfulness. also because the driving parts of the song, and run your hand through your hair, absent-mindedly makin' me want you will always be about my fave fictional boy to me.
speak now: long live. i love a lot of speak now, but there's just. nothing like long live. it is a song that makes me cry EVERY TIME i hear it, without fail. hold on, to spinnin' around, confetti falls to the ground, may these memories break our fall. will you take a moment? promise me this: that you'll stand by me forever, but if god forbid, fate should step in, and force us into a goodbye, if you have children some day, when they point to the pictures, please tell 'em my name. meli, simply typing this makes me cry, i'm serious. it's the beauty of a moment, it's the nostalgic sadness knowing no moment ever lasts. it's the love she poured into it when it became a song for us.
red: holy ground. it's hard with red because it's so special to me as a whole. it's state of grace and all too well and treacherous and begin again and everything has changed and i almost do and sad beautiful tragic and red and...it's the entire record. but. holy ground is my taylor song in so many ways. the "would save me from vecna" song. the fact that you can ache so much and lose so much, and yet still feel this profound love and gratitude, still look back and say, this was painful to experience, but it was also beautiful and blessed. as a terribly reminiscent girlie, who thinks too often of the past and the story and the paths taken (and not), it hits me where i live. the fact that the dust on the page still sparkles. that even heartbreak can still be holy. tonight, i'm gonna dance, for all that we've been through.
1989: also a bit difficult because i'm inclined to say clean or wildest dreams or style (her most perfect pop song), but it's this love. the poetry of this love, the longing of this love, the almost lullaby melody, the crashing and returning of the waves. a ghost lyric! the lantern flickering in the night. the tremulous hope. this love left a permanent mark, this love is glowing in the dark, these hands had to let it go free and this love came back to me. romanticism, baby.
reputation: i could say delicate or call it what you want or new year's day or dancing with our hands tied, but i'm basic and it's getaway car. the ties were black, the lies were white, in shades of gray and candelight? come on. that slinky synth. the sirens. the bonnie and clyde of it all. the light of freedom on my face. the knowing it's wrong and wanting something anyway. the guilt-laced escape. yes.
lover: I LOVE LOVER!!! my sweet. so many incredible tracks here, like. what am i supposed to choose? cruel summer? lover? cornelia street, daylight, afterglow? but it's the archer. the archer was another one that just...resonated indelibly and it felt like she particularly delivered it to me, like a prayer. i was grieving so inconsolably at the time, and she reached out with, i wake in the night, i pace like a ghost, the room is on fire, invisible smoke, and all of my heroes die all alone, help me hold onto you. and, i never grew up, it's getting so old. they see right through me, can you see right through me? that song is an eternal part of my soul and gave me an anchor in the night.
folklore: linked to the above, mirrorball. mirrorball came out as my #1 taylor song the last time i did the song ranker, and i went, yeah, that's correct. that tracks. it's so shimmery. it has such an embrace, and yet it's still filled with such a sense of yearning and self-criticism, of confusion and (calamitous) love. as a fellow mirrorball, it too resonates to the core of my heart. and yet again, as if she was plucking this from the constellations to give to me: i'm still a believer, but i don't know why. i've never been a natural, all i do is try, try, try.
evermore: it was gold rush for a long time, and then ivy, cowboy like me, 'tis the damn season, but as time has passed, i have settled more and more on that title track. the sharp cut of the grief in it. the slow, ponderous catharsis. that feeling of thinking you're going to catch your death, and then continuing to live. pain lingering but transforming. the indescribable sliver of hope in, and when i was shipwrecked, i thought of you. in the cracks of light, i dreamed of you. it was real enough to get me through.
midnights: so my lyric on midnights is obviously, i'm just too soft for all of it, but overall song? i've been captivated by maroon and midnight rain, but my initial favorite was snow on the beach (the clean version, because it works better for me), for being dreamy and soft and suffused with stardust, and i think that holds. stars by the pocketful.
ilyyyyyy, thank you for asking this! 🥺🥰💖💖💖

I’m so glad my first ask kicked up such good discourse about Bond’s character. And I agree with all of them, Bond is a very multifaceted character and it’s very difficult to try to reign him in with just one interpretation.
My take on a dark!bond is very much still a personal preference and I’m (unfortunately) inclined to it but in more general aspects, I’d like to add that whether or not Bond is a “good” person will always in some way capacity be hindered by his trauma and chronic lack of trust. He’s very uncooperative when it comes to his mental well being and I think, to him, that’s probably half of what makes him dangerous in the field so he doesn’t do anything about it (now there’s a discussion about MI6 and their unwillingness to help with the mental upkeep of their agents to be had but maybe for another time). I think his deliberating mental aptitudes is the main reason I still don’t think his relationships can ever be wholly pleasant. He’s completely cut himself to humanity in some ways (and reality by extension) so him being in a relationship with Q or Vesper or Madeline should reflect that (in my mind at least). And I think the movies did a good enough job of doing that but whether he can rectify that’s trait of his or not is kind of up in there. I guess that’s where fanfiction comes in.
Additionally, as some have already said, there’s no way to definitely determine Bond’s moral character but his desire to be better (and unwillingness to do so by himself) is probably the most clear look into his psyche and what that means to a writer is all up to said writer.
Honestly I don’t think I have much left to add to this discourse because everyone else has already left such insightful comments. So I think I should stop harping on Bond’s character and start harping on Q’s: There’s a lot of discrepancies in Q’s characterization in fandom and I think that’s due in great part to the movies being unable to decide on his character. Generally, I don’t think Q can ever be “out of character” because there’s hardly enough of a character to out of. In some ways that’s a good thing, and in some ways it’s frustrating. But as always, this is just an opinion, do with it what you will ;)
Thank you for that first ask! It's led to some truly amazing discussions!! If only I was as committed to finishing some of my WIPs as I am to getting through my asks 😂
There's no 'unfortunately' about you enjoying something! I suppose it's only unfortunate if you can't find the content you like, but then I suppose there's a joy in writing it yourself 💕 If there are any fics that you think explore Bond's relationships/psyche well, feel free to ping them into my inbox anonymously if you're not comfortable putting them into the replies!
After I get at least eight hours of sleep, I'll be so ready to have that discussion about MI6 and their unwillingness to help with the mental upkeep of their agents, because I think it's such a crucial point for understanding not only Bond, but M and Moneypenny. I've also explored it in one of my Q-centric fics.
I think I've ranted enough about Bond and his relationships tonight 😂 so I'll move onto this great point:
Generally, I don’t think Q can ever be “out of character” because there’s hardly enough of a character to out of.
There's so little we know about him in canon (and that we're never likely to find out). What did he do before MI6? Does he have a military background like Boothroyd? What does he actually specialise in? Does he build all his tech or does he delegate? Does he have any friends? Parents? How did he come to end up at MI6? It's all up for interpretation. For me, the core part of him is a kind of arrogance, met with a real concern and care for the people he works with. He is, after all, a man who builds exceptional, personalised deadly weaponry, but then goes home and plants a big ol' kiss to his cats when he picks them up 🥲
Thank you for another thoughtful ask!

oh:D hey there! it’s the anon who asked what degree you were studying a little while ago:). just a follow-up question — feel free to ignore, i just,,,
okay, so i love english and i like history and i’d love to study one or the other, i think:D. but. but i see articles in the news about how english lit degrees are being discontinued, and when i look at courses, it looks like the analysis of r&j that we did in early high school, and jobs just look terrifying— i’m sorry, this is a silly question, but, just:
what’s it like studying eng/hist? where could one get an idea of what a typical course looks like? and would you recommend? i just. really want to go into eng, i love writing, but i’m thinking about business or something because everyone keeps telling me that i’ll never be able to find any jobs w/ any sort of eng degree— and it’s just, i’d love to hear about it from your perspective, if this ask isn’t too much trouble?<3
hiya, it's no trouble at all!!! I've actually been thinking about your ask all day (and this might be horrifically long bc of it) - you've caught me at the tail end of my degree and I'm in my feelings about it sdlkfjsdklfjds
I think there are a few separate things to unpack here, if that's ok with you - all from my experience, of course, though if someone reading this wants to add on please feel free!! (1) how did I decide to study english and history, (2) these things are not considered very employable and that's terrifying and (3) what does studying them look like on the daily.
so to answer (1) - I took a gap year after high school. several reasons for that, including simply that I had the option and opportunity which I know not everyone does. but I also didn't know which direction I wanted to go in life and didn't want to go to uni only because I didn't know what else to do. I worked at an archive and was able to see people with humanities degrees at work in a way that wasn't as teachers or professors, and realised it really was right up my alley.
personally, my brain is one that meshes well with academic study, and I find studying the humanities uni is a good fit for my skillset and how I like to interact with the world. that's not the case for everyone, and that's ok!! not everyone who enjoys reading likes studying literature, and there doesn't have to be a value judgement in there. but if you find that you do, then that's excellent, and it can be really fulfilling to pursue!
(rest under the cut, this got really long, sorry about that hsdkfjds)
as for (2) - you've caught me at a time when I'm facing my next choices and yes, even though I know this is what I'd like to pursue, it's really scary. This isn't to say that there aren't jobs related to these things! Wherever you see written communication in the world is a place where an English degree would be beneficial. Whether it's writing articles, copywriting, editing, day-to-day communicating in a business, writing social media posts, legal briefs, publishing (both fiction and nonfiction)… our world is stuffed to the brim with words and studying English literature will teach you to be able to understand, write, analyse, and engage with them in a way people are too quick to take for granted.
(you're on the internet - I don't have to tell you how crucial reading comprehension is and how many people lack it).
But an English degree is not a one way ticket to a related job, and being academically inclined to reading and writing does not make you automatically interested in a job along these lines, and it unfortunately doesn't mean people will hire you.
and there's no easy answer here. what I can tell you is that I know someone who studied History and is now a pensions officer. I know someone who did English, volunteered while at uni, and now she works for the charity she volunteered for, in a different city. the point is that you don't have to pick a degree and then commit to that exact path until the heat death of the universe till death do you part - it's more like you're walking through life, and you knock on doors that look interesting, and you go through the ones that open. and if you don't like it, that's ok!! you can turn around!! you can climb out a window!!
it's a nervewracking process, but it is possible, and my top advice is never ever think you have to be stuck doing something that makes you miserable because that's the only way to make money. it's fine not to make your greatest passion your career, but if you can make choices, it's best to go for options you don't actively hate.
and this has gotten long, but to answer (3) - this is very specific to my uni and degree, and I recommend going to open days and talking to lecturers about how they set up their courses if you can!
but in my case, a typical English course is usually structured either around a literary movement (modernism), an era (the Renaissance), a genre (children's literature), a theme (tragedy and knowledge), or something along those lines. If it's books, we'll usually read about 1-2 a week, which gives us a broad overview of the main points of the course topic. We'll have lectures and tutorials or seminars (depending on the year and course coordinator) each week to give us context and let us discuss our ideas. We write essays and papers that go more into detail of a particular book or subject we enjoy, some of which are comparative.
(For example, last year in my children's lit course, I wrote an essay on the idea of emotional growth in Howl's Moving Castle, but I've also written on the concept of monstrosity in Milton compared to Aemilia Lanyer.)
History is a bit different; it tends to involve a broader range of sources (not just texts) as well as historiography (the metahistory of how historians have talked about the historical issue over time, if that makes sense).
I can't say for sure whether this is what you'd enjoy. You've said you really enjoy writing and you seem wary of literary analysis by itself - maybe you'd be more interested in a course focused on English Language and Linguistics, or a course in Communications, or a course in English Literature and Creative Writing. You've said you enjoy history, too - there's a lot of overlap between the disciplines, but it might be in your interests to go to a uni where you can take electives in your first years and see what's the best fit for you! once again, it's ok to take some time and see what works for you.
tl;dr: these are big decisions but none of them are ones you can't change or adjust over time!! don't pursue things you hate. one of the most valuable things you can learn at this point in your life is what kind of things aren't for you, because that helps you start to narrow down the things that could be.

Welcome 100+ Followers
Hi to all of you just joining my TGM rodeo! I go by Autumn here and right now, I'm living out my Top Gun: Maverick hyperfixation. I love getting to know you so never hesitate to drop into my asks or messages to chat. I only ask that you Be Kind!
You may have noticed a couple of WIP Masterlists so hopefully this helps orient you in addition to my pinned TGM Masterlist post. However, please feel free to ask for clarification.
February Ode to Phoenix - Daily-ish Phoenix fics for the month of February. You can ask for any Phoenix pairing/non-pairing (does not have to be Hannix!)
Since the purpose of this month is love Phoenix/Monica and add to the # of fics with Phoenix/Natasha Trace as the main POV, reblogs and comments are super helpful here if you feel so inclined! In general, I do my best to take readers' ideas, comments, and analysis into account for fics. You can also drop your love for/thoughts on Phoenix into the asks to be shared as a daily post with my own thoughts if I have them. If that's the case, just let me know you're not expecting a fic
Hannix Football Rivalry AU Series - I wrote a one shot, "Your Jersey or Mine," based on Monica and Glen's support for the 49ers and Cowboys respectively, that through asks has spiraled into a larger series/AU. I've been filling these asks as part of Ode to Phoenix, but this Masterlist contains just the Hannix Football Rivalry ones. Please note "Hannix Football Rivalry" if you want to request something in this AU...although I usually get the hint from a mention of the Cowboys or Niners
Talk to Me - Hannix + Rooster/Phoenix past WIP fic. Also posted on AO3 if you prefer to read there. Natasha's main story arc is done with just an intermediary chapter and epilogue left
Welcome, and so glad to have you here xx

Hello hello!
As some of you know, I've sort of lost muse with this blog (as well as my RWBY blogs) and opted to do a full blog overhaul. Well, here we are with some details of what that overhaul entails!
Currently, all ongoing threads will be dropped. THAT BEING SAID, if there is a specific previous thread we had that you would like to continue, PLEASE REACH OUT AND LET ME KNOW, AND LEAVE ME A LINK. I don't care if it's my reply or your reply, I just need a link so I can add it to my tracker, as I've completely cleared out my tracker. I'm more than willing to continue threads, I just need to reorganize my tracker!
I'm changing a few things on Weiss' blog, namely regarding shipping. It's not going to change too many things, but admittedly I've lost interest for a few ships that are no longer major ship biases (ex. Sunflakes) and am opting to try out a few new ones (ex. Monochrome), though all of these will be with chemistry only. Rules regarding WhiteRose still apply, don't ask for it.
If you'd followed me previously but I've yet to follow back, I will be checking those follows. Feel free to unfollow and follow again to send me the alert again, so I know you're still interested in interacting. I held off following a lot of new people that followed me solely because I wasn't active in RWBY, but I'd love to know if people are still interested. I have gone through and softblocked a number of blogs I don't intend on interacting with (mostly ones that don't share a verse or blogs that didn't have easily-accessible blog information), so my followers have been cleaned out.
I'll be slowly making some icons. Key word, slowly. I may or may not use them, it'll depend on how I feel. I'll also be making headers/banners/etc like I have for my Mass Effect blogs, again slowly over time because I'm a lazy bean.
My blogs will be coming back one by one. My priorities right now are Weiss, Salem, and Emerald, in that order. Pyrrha and Raven are a lower priority as they had the least interactions.
If you guys have any questions, feel free to send me a message! I may also be inclined to offer Discord to a few mutuals that I previously wrote regularly with, which you can also inquire over DM for.

Being an extremely picky reader, I have a lot of sympathy for people who can't find the kind of fic they want to read, who don't resonate with many popular fanon, who have tastes that just aren't often addressed in most fic. The smaller the fandom, the worse off these woes, usually. What I don't give two shuddering shits about are the folks who make this the authors' problem.
Fanfic detractors love to say it's not real writing, but even putting aside the 101 ways that's total bullshit, the sheer act of writing takes time. At my fastest, I could write maximum 1200 words an hour; these days, it's closer to 500. Yet, you have so many writers churning out fic after fic, ranging from bite-sized bits to epic-length monstrosities. That's hours and hours of our lives. I set aside 2–3 hours a day for writing, and you can bet those add up fast.
So here you have these people creating scores of content for the hell of it, putting it up for free, and expecting damn near nothing in return. There are outliers, of course, but the general sentiment I've seen is that we don't want money, and we don't demand comments, though we appreciate the everloving shit out of them. At the core of it, writing fic is a labour of love, and fandom is a gift economy.
You know what's not a gift? Being a little shit in the comment/ask boxes of your local fandom writers.
It's fine, absolutely a-okay, spectacularly acceptable to not like or even viscerally hate any given character, trope, ship, or even specific fic. But listen, that's a you problem—and it doesn't have to be problem at all if you just click that pretty X and exit the story posthaste. The author won't even know you'd been there, and you're free to go wash out the taste of whatever fuckery made you nope out. If you're inclined toward writing yourself, you can even give the tried-and-true art of writing out of spite a go.
But, for the love of god, don't hop into the comment box and list all the ways in which the author could've made the story the one you wanted.
It's not your story. It's also clearly not for you. The writer wrote the story they wanted the way they wanted it. Leave it the fuck alone.
Some writers may ask for concrit; feel free to give it, provided you've nailed the constructive part of constructive criticism.
But their writing has typos and grammar errors: Shit happens, and we're not robots. Ignore it, or if you can't stand it, stop reading.
But it'd have been better if it was another ship/character/direction: That's your opinion, which will remain valid for only as long as it stays solely in your head. Again, stop reading. Exit quietly.
But the content is problematic: My brother in Christ, it was meant to be. We're not all pearl-clutching puritans. Stop reading things that upset you, especially if they're tagged!
Harassing authors won't get you the content you want. Nor, for that matter, will politely pestering them make them see the holy light of whatever crusade you're on. Most you'll manage is break the confidence of a fledgling writer or drive someone vulnerable out of fandom. And if that's your endgame, you're the kind of trash a handful of words from voxofthevoid.tungle.com can't change, so fuck you anyway.
Creativity begets more creativity. In every fandom I've written for, I started writing because, after a point, reading wasn't enough. I have specific tastes that don't always align with broader fandom tastes—for instance, I like out-and-proud sadists and writing my favs as tops/doms, whereas the predominant trends seem to favor the opposite. I also like very specific kinds of fuckery with my fluff, which are often hard to find. All that's fine. I have MS Word and the will to use it.
Granted, writing fic deliberately tailored to my tastes isn't the same as reading fic that's coincidentally tailored to my tastes, but that's fine too. I can be immeasurably grateful to the wonderful folks whose writing does strike a chord in me while also endeavouring to one day make someone say, "Damn, voxofthevoid, this is exactly the story I needed." That's what I want to give to fandom.
Others are free to think, "Yikes, voxofthevoid, you're fucked in the head," and be on their merry way; just don't make it my problem.
And if you, personally, don't have the time or inclination to be the porn fic you want to see in the world, there are other ways to encourage the kind of content you want to see. Participate in fandom exchanges. Seek out writers that take prompts or requests. Send positive encouragement (not rude demands) to the writers whose work you enjoy.
Don't throw a tantrum in the comment/ask box. It helps no one. It pisses off a lot of people. Nobody benefits.
Sincerely,
Someone who's very, very tired of seeing entitled shits make fandom a nightmare for everyone

When you walk into the bright shop with your friend, Ruth, you almost whimper at the sight in front of you.
A massive man with a metal arm is carefully putting together one of the most beautiful arrangements you've ever seen.
He should look out of place surrounded by flowers, but he looks right at home as he turns his head and asks how he can help you.
You aren't sure what to concentrate on first: his warm smile, stunning blue eyes, soft hair kept in place with a bun or how his apron looks like it's about to tear from the sheer size of him.
Ruth nudges you since you're close to the drooling stage and says she's trying to decide on flowers for her upcoming wedding.
She also gives you a wink and secretly hopes you ask him to be your plus one.
The god man in front of you introduces himself as Bucky and gazes at you as you say your name before listening to your friend talk a mile a minute about the colors and options for the bouquets, corsages and reception tables.
Bucky is attentive as she shows him swatches of the bridesmaids dress and tablecloth colors, but you swear he keeps giving you small glances as he listens. And you know you're staring.
You have to smile when Ruth finally takes a breather and asks for his opinion. It's clear that he's passionate about what he does as he offers his expertise and shows sample photos of what he can do.
You wonder what else he's passionate about… Something tells you he would be the best boyfriend.
"Are you single?" you blurt out.
You wait for the ground to swallow you up as Bucky and Ruth stop talking. You can't even think of a good cover up for why you asked that.
Instead of brushing you off like you expect, he smiles. "I am, doll."
"She's single, too," Ruth adds, an all too gleeful look in her eyes at what's unfolding. "And free on Saturday, in case you were wondering."
Bucky makes a show of checking the calendar as you nudge Ruth, who tries to feign innocence. "Would you look at that? I'm free on Saturday, too. Would you… like to grab a bite to eat with me?"
There's an almost nervous look in his eyes that makes him more endearing as your heart races. "I'd love to."
"It's a date, petal," he smiles, excusing himself to ring up another customer. You're proud you don't faint on the spot from that grin.
"Petal?" is the only word you can get out as he walks away, still in disbelief that you have a date.
"Oh, he already gave you a pet name. He's gonna marry you. Just you wait."

What is everyone’s tell (if they have one) when they lie?
(Headcanon Masterlist) (Full Masterlist)
Oooooooh funky. I only have a solid idea on this for like... a few characters, the rest I'm bullshitting, so feel free to add your own ideas in the tags/comments/reblogs!!
When Merlin is a babey, new to Camelot and confused and naïve and kind of arrogant, he is TERRIBLE at lying, and we all know it. Any tell you can think of? Merlin has it. He speaks too slowly, he ums and ahs, he kind of stares at you wide-eyed? As if to check you're buying whatever it is he's selling? He stutters, he contradicts himself, he either fiddles VERY obviously or stands far too still. So yeah, Merlin has ALL the tells. However, as sad as it is, the more he lies, the better he gets at it, to the point where he doesn't even consciously come up with excuses any more. They just fall out of his mouth automatically, without hesitation or a sweat broken, to the point where he's lying seamlessly to even Gaius and his mother and Lancelot over frankly inconsequential things. He has to catch himself sometimes, and it kind of worries him when he has to backtrack when Lance had asked if he'd eaten already, and his subconscious brain had, for some reason, forced "Yeah, yeah I snacked all afternoon whilst I was shopping for Gaius earlier, so I'm fine." out of his mouth before he realises that... he hadn't been shopping today. And he hadn't eaten. And there is literally no reason to need to lie about that?
I feel like Arthur's tells are kind of subtle, and it takes Merlin a while to figure out what they are. When they're playing cards or any other sort of strategy game, I imagine his face is perfectly trained to stay still, but he'll fiddle with one of his rings or something: softly when he's pleased, and kind of harshly and almost painful-looking when he's frustrated. When he needs to lie in actual verbal conversation, he'll pause, just for a moment, before he speaks. He puts this thoughtful face on as though he's assessing whether the person he's speaking to really needs to know what he's about to tell them, but it's actually a cover so he can give himself a second or two to come up with something. Then he says it in this voice like he's trusting you with something, so you won't question it's validity. And be inclined to keep it to yourself. It's very sneakily manipulative, which is why it takes Merlin like a year to catch on. No one else, bar maybe Leon and Morgana, can reliably tell when Arthur is lying.
Leon gulps. It's not obvious, and he tries not to, but if you happen to be looking at his throat, you'll definitely see it. Honour is sort of his whole thing, so he hates lying, but he also understands that it has its place, so will do it when necessary.
Gaius just freezes slightly and stares with wide eyes for barely a second, before perfectly slipping into a lie. It can be simple of extravagant, but once he gets over that momentary blind-sidedness, his lies are very difficult to detect.
Morgana narrows her eyes VERY slightly, sort of like she's daring you to notice, and then daring you to call her out on it?? Or she'll tilt her head, trying to come off as all innocent, but also still daring you to call her out on it. People rarely do.
Now. Gwaine. Gwaine has no tells, at least everyone had thought so for a very long time. The truth is, his lies are either so obvious and ridiculous that people just roll their eyes and stop questioning him, or are as close to the truth, or some version or part of the truth, that he can get, so he can avoid detection. When he says he was "held up chatting to some lads I used to know" what he actually means is he was briefly captured by a group of bandits he swindled a few years ago, and spent an hour having the shit kicked out of him before he managed to escape, throwing a witty one liner over his shoulder as he ran.
Elyan does something kind of stupidly obvious like pout his lips slightly, BUT he lies so rarely that it doesn't really get noticed for a while. When he doesn't want to answer a question, he'll just raise an eyebrow and very pointedly turn around. He doesn't need to lie if he just ignores you.
Gwen blinks a lot and tilts her head, almost like she's questioning her own excuse?? Sometimes it just comes off as sweet and innocent, most of the time it's quite obvious.
Percival doesn't lie often because he usually gets caught out before the words even leave his mouth. He'll fully freeze, um and ah for a minute, and then stutter his way through a TERRIBLE lie, if he even gets that far. To be fair though, he very rarely has a reason to lie so it's not really a big deal, and if he's about to lie about something, it's probably because he's covering for Gwaine (at which point, Arthur or Leon or whoever will roll their eyes and wave him away because they can't be bothered to deal with it), or he just doesn't want to talk about whatever it is (traumatic past or something, in which case whoever it is just drops it).
I feel like Lancelot is a pretty good liar. He has to cover for Merlin fairly often, and is otherwise a smart and well adjusted adult who can control himself when it comes to big important things. But if it’s something small or stupid or potentially embarrassing (hiding his feelings for example, or pretending he isn’t injured when he is) he’s pretty obvious. It just garners a whole bunch of raised eyebrows until he’s lobster coloured and confesses all.
Mordred doesn’t... lie, per se, he just omits certain truths. Like... he didn’t lie about not being a Druid... it’s just that no one asked. If he doesn’t want to answer something he’ll either A) If it’s one of the knights (other than Leon), just turn around and ignore them, or B) If it’s Arthur, Leon, Morgana, or Merlin, he’ll just clench his mouth closed and look away until someone gives in (it’s him, more often than not, at which point he doesn’t even bother trying to lie, he’ll just tell the truth).
~
Hope that was what you’re after anon!! I love you!!!!

OKAY time for a college au!!
You 3 know each other from before college
You and kazuha were seating next to each other during your first year of high school you became close enough to greet each other whenever you guys pass by each other
And you and Xiao were best friends from kindergarten to 2 grade but unfortunately you had to move suddenly you two tried to keep contact but the two of you made new friends and kinda lost contact with each other
So when you go to college you meet kazuha at the front desk when you're trying to get your schedule and yall are like "omg I'm so happy to see someone that I know here!" and when you guys check your schedules it turns out that the two of you have the same class during the first period
And you're like "we've got 30 minutes wanna go grab a cup of coffee and get lost together?" and kazu knows that you playfully flirt with your friends so he jokingly says "are you asking me out for a date? Because if you are then I accept!" and you guys talk on the way to class and the two of you barely make it on time
Class ends and you're sad to say goodbye to the only person you know on campus but then all of a sudden he hits you with a "by the way can I have your number?" so you two exchange numbers
Later you're going to your last class and it turns out that this class doesn't have many people you go sit in the back and someone comes up to you and is like "can I sit next to you? " you say yes obviously
But the thing is... there is something very familiar about this guy and you just can't put your finger on it so you kind of stare at him without realizing it
Of course he noticed how hard you've been staring at him and turns around and is like "what? Is there something on my face?" that's when it finally clicks
And you're just like "XIAO??! IS THAT REALLY YOU?!!" but the teacher comes in so you two can't really talk
But the moment class ends you tell him who you are and take a few minutes to catch up
Though I say catch up it was mostly you teasing him saying shit like "I can't believe the shy kid who used to tear up whenever his turn on the swing was taken would grow up to be this handsome!" (he's starting to think that maybe he should have sat somewhere else)
So you're like "hey how we go actually catch up I've got some coupons for this café I went to this morning with a friend"
He doesn't have a reason to say no so he just accepts the invitation
When you guys get there who do you meet? KAZUHA! This man actually works there!
When you see him you're like "kazuha why didn't you tell me that you work here?" but he pretends not to know you and is like "oh? Well who might this fine customer be?" you can tell he's joking by the way he's trying not to laugh so you decide to play along
Poor Xiao is starting to regret coming with you (but don't worry he got 2 plates of almond tofu as an apology)
-no primogems (I'll make another part later where you 3 become roommates)
YES I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS-
dhfaeiahe I realize now that I should've just posted this as is since I wasn't planning on adding to this but might as well add in some thoughts I've had about this lovely trio eh??? tbh I didn't add much I just slipped in a few little things hehe
Can you guess the roomates?? Also the bio professor is Albedo ehe
Anyway!!
Considering it's the first semester of college, you haven't yet decided on your major. Luckily, you have quite a few general education classes to take, so you register all in one night.
You'll have the time to figure it all out as time goes by, no?
The rest of summer is spent juggling moving into the campus' dorms, working, and keeping up with some friends from high school. While you've kept contact with a few friends, you definitely kicked yourself in the ass for forgetting to ask Kazuha for his number...how could you forget one of your best friends?
But, you suppose that he's far off in a whole other city with his wish to experience more. You can't help but wonder what he's up to.
Then, the first day of classes starts.
How did you not figure out where everything is first? Instead of moping, you trudge to the administrative building early to ask for directions and, even better, a map of the large campus.
Instead, you find a familiar head of cream-colored hair.
Immediately, you gasp and he turns around in confusion, only for a soft smile to spread over his features. It's only been a summer but it's a relief to see that you know another person. Comparing schedules, he points out that you both have Communications 1301 together.
For once, you're glad you have to take these mandatory courses...
But with an abundance of time (as Kazuha just so happens to know where the class is), he accepts your jokingly firtatious proposal to head to the cafe just across campus to grab a morning drink.
It's hardly been long since you've last spoken to him, but there's still so much to talk about! It turns out he opted to rent out a small studio apartment just a few blocks away from campus! Naturally, he invites you over sometime.
He's also admitted that he decided to major in English--something you're not surprised to hear. After all, Kazuha's a natural at the subject, exceeding the assignments and always so eloquent.
If you recall correctly, he used to tote around a little notebook full of little musings and poetry during high school. You wonder if he still does that.
You talk about how you've just moved into the dorms a week ago, how you're lucky to be rooming with two musically inclined (if not a bit rowdy) people. You're sure that he'd take a liking to them once everything is calmed down a bit. Kazuha just raises a brow in half-doubt.
Before you know it, it's been an hours and, to your horror, your first class starts in five minutes. Not to mention that it was back closer to the admin building and you were on the opposite side of campus.
But it's still fun, Kazuha laughing as you jolt up and tug him to stand, the two of you running to get to class on time. With heaving breaths and flushed faces, you make it just a few minutes late. Luckily, your professor didn't mind because it was the first day...
Following class, you have to make your way to Bio 1301, Kazuha having a major-specific English course to get to. Before you can speak, though, he offers his phone to you. It's newer than his old flip phone you'd tease him about all the time, the screen clean save for a few stray fingerprints.
After you put in your number, he beams and quickly sends you a call so you can have his too.
"Call me after you're done with classes, alright?"
You promise to and the two of you set off.
Biology proves to be uneventful, a full hour and a half of the (rather attractive) professor going over what to expect as well as passing out lab waiver forms. A necessary precaution, he said with a reserved sigh. You wonder what happened.
When the hour ends, you have some time before World History, followed by a Trigonometry course.
By the time you find your trig class, most of the seats are already taken, making that feeling of dread fill the pit of your stomach. Nothing is worse than being forced to take whatever seat is left. But, noticing a seat by the windows, it's not so bad.
You're in the back, though, settling your bag beneath your chair and picking out a pen and schedule book.
At some point, someone walks in and asks if the seat in front of you is taken. You don't bother to look up long as you fish out a notebook, letting him know it's free.
As class goes on, you realize that the guy in front of you most likely hasn't been paying attention. Considering that the professor has been rehashing stuff from Algebra...you're not surprised. But something about his dark hair catches your eye. Not to mention his striking gold eyes...hm.
It's not until you catch his profile as he stares out the window that it clicks.
"Xiao."
His eyes dart to look at you, a confused look washing over his face. You repeat his name.
"Yes?"
Part of him is just about ready to leave as recognition floods your expression, smile wide. How could you possibly---
"I can't believe the shy kid who used to tear up whenever his turn on the swing was taken would grow up to be this handsome!"
The tips of his ears turn red fast, something that you remember very well about him, and his gaze quickly flicks over to the professor still dragging on. When gold settles back on you, they're practically begging for you to lower your voice.
"It's been forever--I can't believe that you-"
"If you're going to talk, do it outside of class."
Ah. Oopsie.
Time seems to drag on while you buzz in your seat, excited to see your childhood friend after loosing contact. You've missed him over the years, always wondering what happened to him, how he's been. And finally, when class ends, he gets up and waits for you.
Naturally, you want to catch up, so you invite him to go to the cafe with you for a late lunch.
"You still like almond tofu right? It's all you used to eat when we were little." Laughing, you nudge his shoulder and the color returns to his cheeks as he mumbles a yes.
When you step into the cafe, a familiar voice greets you.
"If I knew a cute customer would be coming, I would've gone on break."
Kazuha leans on the counter, mirth in his eyes and you gasp. It makes sense now, why he's so well acquainted with the campus and why he'd already known what to order when you arrived for drinks-
"What can I get for you today?"
"Your number."
Xiao's face pales at the blatant flirting, wondering if he should've just declined the invitation to the cafe until the two of you burst into laughter. Though, it's hardly better.
"Sorry, sorry- This is Kazuha, one of my friends from high school. Kazuha, this is my childhood best friend Xiao."
With a day so filled with nice coincidences, you doubt that life can get any better than this.
Oh, how wrong you'd be.

complaining about those who post CG from Voltage, but publish recorded video of the screen... How much hypocrisy... Mind your own business.
Boring! Just think about "likes". Always thinking about polemics to get attention. Not everyone who likes the game has money to spend. And these people are also part of the fandom, they are also important for the success of the game. Connect!
Just stop thinking about yourself and let people have fun.
Honey, I posted recorded videos that were free from Voltage for anyone who had the app, not paid content. Big difference compared to posting VIP room content worth $50+ and then having the audacity to add your own damn watermark, wouldn't you say?
You can be part of a fandom without seeing the premium content. There's a reason it's called premium and costs money. Sorry, but if you don't have the money that doesn't mean you're suddenly entitled to the content. I don't know why people seem to believe they are, especially when it comes to art. The most important thing here is that Voltage has explicitly asked us not to, and by posting things that is knowingly disrespecting their wishes. So, really, your personal opinion on the matter isn't relevant.
Always thinking about polemics to get attention? That...doesn't even make sense. Not sure how you got this "always" or sense that I'm doing this purely for attention, but I guess people will think what they want. I fail to see how this is me only thinking about myself, either.
"People having fun" is at the expense of Voltage. Stealing from a company is not supporting them. I don't think you'd feel so great about it if you put tons of effort into making something and selling it, only for people to plaster it on social media--resulting in people having no inclination to purchase those things. I'd suggest making sure to "Connect!" that there's real people with real bills to pay behind every piece of content. It's a job, not a hobby, they deserve to get paid.
Thanks for the bad take, though. It's great to know you approve of stealing artists' content (anonymously), of course. Boring!
