🔥 Kim
did you know that it's possible to play as a fascist, end the game with kim defending you, invite him to join the 41st and he'll accept? that's not an unpopular opinion but it is an uncomfortable bit of canon that no one wants to engage with.

I know this isn't going to go well here but the actively encouraging people to shoplift because "fuck billion dollar corporations" is a risky fucking move and I don't think yall really understand what you're getting into.
Imagine you have a billion dollar company. First thing you're gonna wanna do is incorporate. That means a catastrophic loss to the company cannot be taken out of your ass. The corporation is, legally speaking, a person who is totally separate to you.
Let's say that people are stealing product, and you're losing inventory that was projected to be sold. You wanna meet that projected income, right? You can't say, "people stole from this store, and the employees failed to prevent it, so I'm gonna take it out of their income." That's illegal in most places and looks bad PR wise. So what you do is, you say, "this company isn't selling enough to meet quota, so we're compensating in other areas." What does that look like? That looks like fewer hours for part-time staff, fewer hires, lower quality uniforms and supplies. Your employees work $10 an hour, you lose $100, maybe you take an hour off ten people. Maybe you don't grant extra hours to people requesting it. Maybe you double down on discouraging overtime but still insist the same goals be met. Maybe you raise prices on things that disappear, to cover what's gonna get taken
Even with all this, you'd have to cut back even more if you just *let theft happen*, right? So you hire security to operate cameras, follow people, watch staff. It's expensive, but still cheaper than it WOULD be if word got around that your doors are free and open to anyone walking in with sticky fingers.
So you nab some shit anyway. Whatever. Surprise- there is no pattern to who specifically gets watched. Anyone coming in might get a random follow, just to check in. You don't get arrested? That doesn't mean anything. It might be a busy day. It might be what you took is low enough value that they can let you go, wait to see how often you do it, how long you've been doing it, whether it's a one-off or if you're on it all the time. Maybe they have a checklist of things they need to cover before they can ban you from the property, and after that, criminal trespass is a crime, too. Maybe they have six different pictures of your face and are running it through other stores to see if you've stolen there, too, and once someone finds your name or your address or your regular pattern of behaviour? You go down for all of it at once, and you don't even know you're fucked until it's too late.
I get it. Shit is the way it is. I just don't wanna see yall starting a shoplifting hobby stealing lipgloss and dollar candy off the fucking cuff because some dumbass online posted a guillotine and told you to eat the rich.
Like.
There are ramifications, you know?
Stay safe out there

unpopular opinion: the idea that L would have suspected light of being kira regardless of whether he actually was is a blatant insult to L's intelligence and similarly the idea that L preferred yotsuba light to kira light is just categorically incorrect

Ohh, another unpopular opinion I have is that I cannot fucking stand the way people blorbo-ify the fuck out of Kaido and Toritsuka. Neither of these characters are innocent little babies (one less than the other, but it applies to both nonetheless) and should NOT be treated as such. It's insane to me how people can justify Toritsuka sexually harassing people (and inappropriately touching chiyo without her consent) and Kaido being a massive dick LOL.
I love both of these characters and it isn't THAT serious, but there are ways to like them without pretending like their wrongdoings either didn't happen or were somehow okay.
I do not believe asshole and babygirl have to be mutually exclusive. They can and should coexist.

the fact that gwaine literally calls gwen a princess multiple times when he first meets her but fandom hasn't latched onto it the way they have with his throwaway comment to arthur... like I think if he had to use "princess" as a nickname for anyone it'd be 99% more likely for that person to be gwen rather than arthur. but I'm just saying I'm just thinking thoughts here

I can't stress this enough. I just cannot agree with the idea of Sun willingly turning himself into Moon. If he get's pissed off enough. Because, he is popular opinion from those who say,
And agree he's mentally disturbed, and that's what he (Resort to do.) would do, kind of thing.
Yet, I feel like that's an over statement of what kind of person he is. I have a couple of things to say. That, from the book cannon, he's designed to be an entertainer.
And is a performer for young ages, and older ages. Then after get assigned to be an attendant.
Let's take one at a time, and so he's been moved over. Straight away, that is stressful.
And he felt, an a different atmosphere that would normally change the mood of someone. But for what he's going through, is different.
When he is with kids, I believe he does feel better. But, he'd never come to the point where...If he is feeling angry about something, the right thing to do is to walk away for a while. He takes himself away from the situation, he struggles to keep control.
Just so he can decompress, because he doesn't to do anything horrible. He does this a few times. When he was hiding himself from underneath the table.
When he flew himself away from Cassie, to a further away spot. So that way, he doesn't come close to her. When he tried to intervene from Moon jump scaring her.
For a character who is mentally disturbed, to do something like that. That is actually Selfless! It's minimal, but it is something big!
If he were to use Moon for anything, id think it would be for something dire. If it's a last resort thing. If he really, really needed it. Then maybe.
I typically thought he would threaten that to evil people. Not to people that he doesn't like.

In discussions of TCW-Anakin vs. film-Anakin, I understand why some people see them as being incompatible or entirely different portrayals. But whatever problems I personally have with TCW are more to do with certain OOC dialogue lines that I don't agree with, or the overly-contrived situations that TCW tends to force him into just so an episode or scene can function as a 'meta-commentary' on his character or storyline. Believe me, I have issues with specific aspects of TCW's writing for Anakin, but the fact he's more outwardly 'suave' or 'dashing' than some people expected is not one of them. If anything, I see the 'Skyguy' persona as perfectly in keeping with Anakin as portrayed at the beginning of RotS, and I would argue that a great deal of the TCW characterisation is pulled directly from those Battle of Coruscant scenes. (TCW Anakin is also heavily inspired by Jake Lloyd's Little Ani in TPM, which, lest anyone forget, counts as FILM-Anakin.) The actual baseline 'persona' for both versions of the character isn't actually that different, and I'm tired of this idea that film-Anakin ISN’T supposed to be seen as ‘cool’ in-universe, just as much as I’m tired of the idea that TCW-Anakin ISN’T supposed to be viewed as a figure of pathos by the audience, either.
Imo, they’re both takes on the same character coming from different angles, set at different stages in his life, and portrayed through different mediums (animated series heavy on self-aware, darkly ironic humour in a more contemporary style intended to entertain and increase enjoyment of the Prequels-era and its characters vs. serious Greek tragedy with Shakespearean overtones made with old-Hollywood-style sensibilities as part of a mythic six-film saga). Just because TCW Ani doesn’t shed literal tears on-screen doesn’t mean he’s not emotional or emotionally vulnerable. As far as I remember, there's even a scene where Obi-Wan and Anakin discuss the fact that Anakin has trouble keeping his emotions hidden, which is the opposite of the 'macho' ideal the TCW version gets accused of being. And the amount of times we're constantly bashed over the head with dramatic irony about his fate as Vader in that series surely drives home the point that his trajectory is still a tragic one. (The way he cries out in agony in the Mortis arc, 'I will do such terrible things!' gets to me, every time.) Despite his powers and prowess, TCW Anakin is even shown as being physically vulnerable at times, as well. (See the Jedi Crash storyline which he spends mostly knocked-out unconscious, the nod to his mechanical arm as a liability in the Zillo Beast and Citadel arcs, and the scene of him futilely struggling like a wild beast before being captured with ropes in the Zyggerian arc, or the fact he gets captured and tortured by Dooku in 'Shadow Warrior'.) Fandom makes endless jokes about TCW Ani getting electrocuted every other episode, but then turns around and uses this to fuel the dismissive view of him as just some dumb himbo instead of understanding that this, too, is supposed to add to the character's pathos.
Likewise, fandom claims that film-Ani is 'uncool' and 'cries all the time', which is simply not true. Film-Anakin banters, jokes, laughs, makes daring jumps out of speeders, does bold piloting moves, is in fact an imposing duellist, and so on. Sure, his character is not supposed to be seen as aspirational (obviously!) and the most memorable and dramatic moments of the latter two Prequels films feature him in the midst of extremely intense emotions. But the oft-repeated view of him as 'uncool' completely ignores the fact that by the time that RotS starts, Anakin is also supposed to be a well-known and widely-admired charismatic general, aka the Hero With No Fear, who is viewed as almost singlehandedly saving the Republic. The audience may be privy to Anakin's inner turmoil, but in-story he is supposed to be seen as THE golden boy of the Jedi Order and the Republic. The RotS novelization frequently mentions that Anakin has 'dash', 'boldness', and a 'presence' 'like the Holo-Net hero that he is'. It literally says he's the best at what he does and he KNOWS it. He's not just supposed to be some sad, awkward idiot like the fandom thinks he is (rather, he's supposed to be shown as falling from a 'great height'). By the time of RotS, film Anakin has just as much swagger and self-confidence in his role as General Skywalker as he does in TCW. Just because that side of him is not the main focus of the film doesn't mean it's not supposed to be there.

Unpopular opinion about Katara?
Red is a better color on her than the shade of blue they had her in. I get why people feel weird about her being depicted in red in Zutara fan art, but the nations were color coded to the point of ridiculousness (no country has a national color that everyone has to wear), and there's nothing inherently wrong about her being in red in art. Because it's just a great color on her. In my mind, though, she is a lover of fashion, so I think she'd wear a lot of different colors, including red and blue (though a different, darker shade of blue).

there is nothing wrong or evil about cutting people off that lost their value. there is no point in upholding a relationship with someone i don't care about and if you'd rather live a lie then maybe you need more help than me
if you don't care about them, there's no point in staying.
