You're made up of chemicals and so are the foods you eat and the water (H2O) you drink.
Sure, you could say that a banana is natural because it wasn't made by humans (although it kind of was through selective breeding) but it's still made up of chemicals. Typically when people say something is 'natural' they mean 'without chemicals' and that's not accurate.
If someone is selling you a 'natural' product or food, it's definitely full of chemicals. Regardless of the product.
Also, 'natural' things aren't always 'good', and added chemicals aren't always 'bad'. While I was doing some reading, I found this great article by canadianfoodfocus.org that brought up a good point: E.Coli is natural and can cause severe sickness or death whereas adding synthetic vitamins to foods has helped the population's health in many ways.
Labeling foods as 'natural' is misleading and contributes to moralizing food which is harmful.
In the end, it's pretty amazing that everything is made up of tiny little particles. (can you tell I'm taking science classes at the moment? haha)

🌱 Chickpea Spinach Stuffed Sweet Potatoes! Recipe: Serves 4 4 medium sweet potatoes 1-15 ounce can chickpeas 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper plus more for serving 1/2 teaspoon cumin 1 cup baby spinach, roughly chopped 2 tablespoons tahini Flaky sea salt for serving Crushed red pepper flakes for serving INSTRUCTIONS Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Prick the sweet potatoes with a fork and roast for 45-55 minutes until they are just tender. Let the sweet potatoes cool for 5-10 minutes before halving them lengthwise and fluffing their flesh with a fork. While the sweet potatoes are roasting, make the crispy chickpeas. Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Pat them dry with paper towels. Remove any loose outer skins. In a small bowl, toss the chickpeas with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and cumin. Spread them in a single layer on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan. Bake for 25 – 35 minutes until crisp and browned, gently shaking the pan about halfway through cooking. While the sweet potatoes and chickpeas are roasting, heat the remaining olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Sauté the spinach until the leaves start to wilt, about 2 minutes. Add the garlic and remaining salt and pepper, and continue cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute. Top each of the sweet potato halves with chickpeas and spinach. Drizzle with tahini and sprinkle with flaky sea salt and red pepper flakes before serving. The summer heat has softened but lingered well into October. We should be finally reviving as the temperature cools but my colleagues are feeling under the weather from lack of sleep and lack of appetite. I think this is because of “aki bate” (秋バテ literally translated as autumn exhaustion). I heard that “aki bate” comes from exhaustion of the summer heat, the body cannot adapt to the sudden lower temperatures of autumn and atmospheric pressure from the typhoons. One way to help your body is to eat warm food and beverages. So for lunch my colleagues and I went to eat okayu (お粥rice porridge) which is easy on the stomach. When I think of rice porridge I think of sweet but when I think of okayu I think of a more simple rice flavor with savory toppings such umeboshi (pickled plums) and salted kombu (kelp). It’s kind of like chicken soup for the soul. It’s your reminder from @drclaudiatfelty that you don’t have to replace what you’re craving with silly substitutes. ⠀ ⠀ For real, how many of you have seen those comparisons that suggest lower calorie items for what you really want? 🙋🏼‍♀️ I saw one the other day that said we should swap salad 🥗 for chocolate 🍫 🤦🏼‍♀️ That’s ridiculous AF and never going to work long-term! I should know as a former card carrying member of restriction.⠀ ⠀ The only way to curb a craving is to satisfy it! The more restriction you follow around your food, the more likely you’re going to #binge on the very food you were trying to avoid.⠀ ⠀ In the past I would hold out for days, weeks, and sometimes months when it came to chocolate, and guess what, every time I gave in and had some I literally lost my mind around it. I would go straight into a full on binge.⠀ ⠀ These days I feel chill AF around chocolate. There’s even packages of chocolate that haven’t even been opened in my house! You guys that’s like a miracle! I don’t even give them a second thought.
